Park

Daventry Country Park, located just a mile from the town center, offers a serene escape into nature. The park features a large reservoir surrounded by woodland and meadow trails where visitors can spot ducks and geese. Families can enjoy the adventure playground, outdoor gym equipment, bird hides, and a cafe offering hot and cold food. Wheelchair-accessible trails provide easy access to the park's natural beauty and wildlife viewing points.
Plenty of parking on Weekdays and good clean toilets. There is a small cafe with an outdoor area useful to shelter from the odd rainy day. The walks around the lake are popular with dog walkers and parents with smaller children
Gareth G — Google review
It's a wonderful and accessible place, thanks to the hard work of their ground crew, staff and volunteers, especially since they completed the new accessible platform. Surfaces are a mix of compacted grit, tarmac and dirt tracks, with some muddy areas during the winter/wet months, but is only on the far side of water and majority of routes are fine and you'll still get to enjoy most of it. There are two disabled toilets combined with baby changing and are a little cramped in my opinion, hence the 4*, a changing places unit would be amazing here if they could get a grant for one, but it's still a great place to get outdoors and I love it.

Lovely place to walk and relax. Eye pleasing scenaries & with flock of birds & Ideal for photography. PS: Parking pay machines out of order.
Harshitha S — Google review
I visited Daventry Country Park twice, and both times felt refreshing and peaceful. The reservoir walk was calming, surrounded by greenery and bird calls. On my last visit, I wandered into the nearby village and found a beautiful canal-side road. It was quiet, almost hidden, with the still water reflecting the sky the kind of place that makes you slow down and just enjoy the moment. Those simple walks made the trip feel really special.
Aghila A — Google review
Lovely place for a walk with the pram, slightly bumpy in places but my little one still fell asleep! Cafe and playground available, good day out. Approx £1 per hour for parking which can be cash, card or phone app.
Naomi J — Google review
Great walk round with the dogs. And tires kids out. I love the cafe, good selection and nice they have dog ice cream 🍦
Natalie C — Google review
A lovely park even with the water level of the reservoir being low. Cafe, views, educational tags, well maintained paths and signage.
Melissa. N — Google review
Lovely! Good (2.8km) walk around the reservoir with lots of stopping places and benches for a pause if needed. The little cafe is delightful and the servers friendly and efficient. We loved the children’s playground! I would like to see more picnic tables or places where we could bring our own chairs or sit on the grass for picnics. But the park is a great place for a family gathering and the wooded environment gave the feeling of being miles from anywhere. Highly recommended!

Borough Hill, a mountain peak, showcases the remnants of a Roman villa, Iron Age hillforts, and Bronze Age barrows. Over the following century, several hill-forts were constructed at Arbury Camp, Rainsborough camp, Castle Dykes, Guilsborough, Irthlingborough; notably Hunsbury Hill.

Spring weather in February encouraged a lot of dog walkers to come. I like this place because of its historic heritage. As hill dominates over Daventry, it also offers good views on town downhill and surrounding farming lands. There is a free parking there if you wish to come by car.

Great little town museum. Interesting points on roman activity in the area, the radio stations, and working town history with plenty of artefacts. Lots of hands-on activities for kids. Nice to see new bequests and acquisitions as they expand their collections. Also, nice points of engagement with local community groups. If you're in the area, definitely worth a visit. Drayton Reservoir is a man-made lake that is well-stocked with carp and various other types of fish. It boasts a wooden boardwalk and docks for visitors to enjoy. This fishery offers a warm and welcoming atmosphere, with helpful staff who are knowledgeable about fishing locations. Anglers have reported impressive catches, including multiple high double-figure fish. The fellow anglers at Drayton Reservoir are known to be friendly and informative, contributing to an overall enjoyable experience.
Loved it brill for a few bends in your rods had 30 fish average about 16lb but had 2 20s Mark the bailiff and Ollie was a laugh helpful points the right direction worth listening to top bloke made to feel welcome defo b going back thanks
Michael C — Google review
Just had a great 48hrs on peg 36. 6 fish 4 upper doubles and 2 twenties 21.4 lbs and 23.10 lbs . First class experience from start to finish will definitely be back !!!!!!!! Ps. Small pink pop ups on Ronnie. Rigs at 90yards to the left of the surf board of that helps anyone 👍👍🐟🐟
Pete B — Google review
This much improved carp fishery is great if you you want a bend in your rod! It also holds other coarse fish like pike that got on quite well. The pegs are close together - however everybody gets on as there is so much action and you can't really stop the fish from crossing lines. It is renowned for its surface fishing and zig style fishing where you can have dozens of fish hoovering up your floaters in next to no time! Great venue for young and old alike and there are onsite toilets. Don't forget your wellies as it can be quite shallow in areas.
Alex H — Google review
Always a pleasure to be on Drayton Reservoir. Clean, plenty fish, friendly staff 🔝🎣🎣🎣👏👏👏

Families particularly appreciate the children's swim classes led by skilled instructors in a spacious pool with ample changing facilities.
Amazing swimming lessons for children. Natasha is an outstanding swim coach. She is great with our 4 year old. Lovely manner with both children and parents. Very happy with our experience.
Courtney L — Google review
When are you getting a make over?? The town needs these facilities and they are awful. The building itself is a hazard. I was sat on the toilet once and a lump of plaster from the ceiling fell in my lap. There’s nowhere for people to go! I’m not paying £45 quid a month to go somewhere so dilapidated!! Please sort it out we need something!
Sage M — Google review
I don't know who is so rich or important but to close changing room due to "private" session is absolute pisstake. Plus poor condition, maintenance and tired look....
Iggy — Google review
So I took my 3 kids to the pool in the Daventry Leisure Centre. Quite cheap but I was appalled with the locker rooms rubbish everywhere, and the toilets smelt like they have not been cleaned properly! Also I got told by my kids that the staff members during their pool experience were very horrible to them. They got kicked out for jumping into the pool! And they cherry on top my child just now told me that one of the members of staff was being highly inappropriate. 😡

Enquired about joining this gym - wcontacted e number of times per day & now I now owe them £15 because for not using my day pass .. explained I have personal things going on .. was given attitude. Be nice. You don’t know what people are goingthrough..For a Gym pass ?!

Staff smiling and helpful all the time... good part! Bad part!...Most of the cubicle at the pool are filthy and not fit for purpose..... missing hooks for hanging or locks doesn't work! - need a deep clean and refurb...No music at all at the pool in the morning and with all the old people around ... feel like an old people hospice. Depressing.

Tigers Indoor Play Ltd, established in August 2013, underwent a major renovation in early 2014 with an investment of over £60,000 in new play equipment and furniture. It is now one of the largest indoor play centers in the region. Visitors praise its cleanliness, spaciousness, and security. The facility offers various entertainment options including soft play areas, rides, go-karts, and arcade games.
We often visit Tigers Daventry, either for birthday parties or a rainy day activity. The play area is vast and the kids love it. There’s a special area just for little ones too. Everything is reasonably priced and the food in the cafe is great. We can happily spend 2+ hours here. The staff are friendly and hard working. We have no complaints and we be back again soon
Beth R — Google review
The team at Tigers are always very helpful, a lovely family run business that shows in their team. The play area is brilliant for different ages and I’ve had some brilliant trips with children ranging from a few months old to 10 years old. The food and drinks selection is always great for the kids and us adults too. Definitely recommend!
Reanan C — Google review
The team at tigers indoor play have been amazing. I am organising a charity event to raise money for the incredible people at Macintyre, a charity offering support to children and adults with learning disabilities. They have kindly donated some raffle prizes to boost our fundraising. What a kind and helpful family run business. I highly recommend, thankyou so much!
Clare F — Google review
We love coming to Tigers, it’s one of our favourite spots for a fun day out. The play area is clean and well looked after, with plenty to keep the kids entertained for hours. My little one especially love the slides. The staff are always so friendly and welcoming, and it just has a really nice, relaxed atmosphere. The café is great too, good coffee, nice food, and decent prices, which makes it easy to sit back and enjoy a bit of peace while the kids play. It’s perfect for rainy days, playdates, or even birthday parties. Can’t recommend it enough we always leave with happy (and tired!) children!
Vicky B — Google review
We have just attended a birthday party and had a brilliant time! The party rooms are a fantastic space to enjoy food and the birthday cake with just your guests. The cafe upstairs is a perfect touch for the parents bring their children to the party. I have been previously with both my children and have always had a fantastic time and the food is always lovely. 100% recommend bringing your children here for a fun few hours!
Caroline H — Google review
Visited for a party at the weekend and the children had a great time. We've been lots of times before and it's the perfect spot for them to to have fun, and the grown ups to have a coffee/snack and chat. There's a great selection of soft play equipment and all the tables have a great view so you can easily keep an eye on the little ones. Everyone is so friendly and the party hosts when we come have always been welcoming, efficient and great with the children.
Danielle G — Google review
Tigers Softplay is fantastic for the children to burn off some energy. It has lots of tables that you can sit at and see where the children are at all times. My boys particularly love the football pitch and going on the mini go karts. It is perfect for any parent wanting a few hours where they don't have to watch the children and a nice coffee / snacks is a bonus. Would highly recommend.
Katie R — Google review
Tigers Soft Play in Daventry is fantastic. The play area is clean, safe, and full of well-maintained equipment that keeps children entertained for hours. The staff are friendly, attentive, and clearly care about providing a great experience for families. The café offers good food and drinks at fair prices, and everything is run efficiently. It’s one of the better soft play centres in the area — highly recommended for anyone with young children.

Reservoir Cafe prides itself on offering a diverse menu that caters to various tastes and dietary preferences.

Ordered nearly a £5 coffee with toppings and extras. Came out as a regular coffee. When I asked the staff to add the toppings (that I had paid for) they seemed like it was a massive inconvenience. No apology or anything for that matter, just placed the coffee in front of me and walked back into the kitchen. As other reviewers have mentioned, everyone has an off day, however we visit almost weekly and the staff are always miserable and devoid of any customer service. I think this is the last time we will be spending any money there.
Gregory C — Google review
Not good espresso coffee was awful tea had too much water in it to put any milk in asked takeaway or sit outside told young lady staying here still got paper cups lovely walks but wouldn’t go back for the drinks
Boo — Google review
Lovely cafe, really nicely decorated, often quiet & in a great setting. Food is great too - service though is absolutely absymal. Miserable staff, no smiles. Desperately needs a staffing overhaul judging by other reviews. Could be a local gem if they served smiles too...
Aaron G — Google review
Pleasant location & staff. good menu choice, prices as expected.....an overall welcomed Daventry Country Park facility.
Rob O — Google review
We’re local to Daventry and love visiting the country park, as it’s beautiful to walk around and there’s lots of wildlife to be seen. We tend to finish our lap at the café with a coffee but unfortunately are always treated as if we’re a nuisance with rude service when ordering. We often get huffing and puffing as a side to our coffees! If it was on the odd occasion I wouldn’t be writing this, as everyone has bad days, but we visit at least weekly and it’s always the same. We’ve now started taking flasks for our walks instead. Cheaper and, more importantly, we don’t feel like we’re annoying anyone by spending money with them! On a separate note, their coffee machine makes lovely cappuccinos at the touch of a button.
Natalie — Google review
Wanted to give the benefit of the doubt but been here a couple times now recently and the experience is always the same. Be warned this is not a fast food cafe. Usually I order chips and each time I have found myself sitting around for half an hour waiting for them. They aren't worth the wait either. Last time I tried something different and went for a stake bake, which seeing as it was wrapped up at the front I assumed it would be a case of them just warming it up. After sitting around for 15 minutes I was handed this lukewarm bake that was completely raw pastry on the bottom and the inside was cold. I was never told how long I could expect to wait. Just buy an ice cream and don't put yourself through the trouble.

What a find! The traders are so friendly and helpful. We went to visit a café we’d seen recommended online, ended up visiting 2 during our visit. Stopped off at Roman Way Brewery bought some bottles of great beer and got great recommendations. The Yellow Bourbon Coffee Roaster was excellent, lovely staff, coffee and such a nice place to relax and listen to great music on their amazing sound system. A couple of great antique shops with lots of individual rooms. Many other shops and a visitor centre too for us to visit next time.

Very interesting and historical place. Now becoming a home to many different businesses. From Gyms to garages, cafes to barbers. You might see a duck or two as well. Nice for a walk around too.
Brother J — Google review
There are 2 entrances: Harmans Way is at one end of the site, closest to the visitors centre, the other entrance is at the opposite end of the site (a 5 minute walk) and is the one that the satnav takes to. It has 92 historic buildings, a canal with ducks and swans, it had its own dedicated railway spur; guided tours are available and includes drinks and biscuits afterwards, as well as toilet facilities. The ground is uneven, but not impossible for wheelchairs; plenty of retail: vinyl records, a book shop, brewery, coffee shop. Also a working trade site, so beware of traffic. Close to Weedon Bec shops, Plume of Feathers pub, as well as Upper Weedon for fuel and supermarket. Not far from the A5 and M1.

Nestled just a mile from the charming village of Everdon in Northamptonshire, Everdon Stubbs is a captivating ancient woodland maintained by the Woodland Trust. This enchanting area is teeming with native wildlife, making it a delightful spot for nature enthusiasts. As you wander through its paths, you're likely to encounter playful foxes and badgers while being surrounded by stunning bluebells that blanket the forest floor in springtime.
Beautiful woodland, especially when the bluebells are in flower. Lots of different paths, although no marked routes. There is a small car park, and people often park on the road. There are some rope swings to discover too!
Sarah D — Google review
Everdon Stubbs is a beautiful ancient woodland near Northampton, perfect for a family day out. The trails are peaceful and great for kids to explore, with plenty of space for dogs too. In spring, the bluebells are absolutely stunning—worth the trip alone! There’s a small car park, but you can also park along the road. No toilets on-site, so plan ahead. It is a lovely spot to unwind with friends or family.
Aravind S — Google review
Lovely walk in the woods, the bluebells were stunning and there were lots of different paths to take. We didn’t see many people either despite there being lots of cars parked up.
Emily T — Google review
An interesting woodland, a very worthwhile visit in April when the bluebells are blooming. There's many trails and some rope swings to add some extra fun for children.
Sean G — Google review
Absolutely fascinating place specially in April or Early May as bluebells bloom everywhere on the forest floor. Many trails inside so even if it gets crowded inside you wont cross many people. Not much difficult to take pushchair or wheelchair along if it hasn't rained. Very good for Dogs too. Even on sunny day with scorching heat, inside its pleasant. Just under 40 min from Leam/Warwick. Parking can be tricky as limited spaces dedicated but roadside is wide enough to parallel park no of cars.
Jagdish B — Google review
Relaxed meander through pleasant woods. Ok in trainers in summer. You'd want boots in winter. Some great views from outer edge of wood. Watch your footing, no dog bins and plenty of owners think that makes it ok not to pick up!

Lovely woodland with natural walks (can therefor be muddy in the wet) and some last belt surprises. Wonderful bluebells in the spring and lovely autumn colours later in the year. Nestled in the heart of nature, Badby Woods is a delightful destination for those seeking a peaceful escape. While parking can be limited to about ten spaces, navigating there via "Badby Woods parking place" on Google Maps will lead you right to it. If the car park fills up, street parking is available along a narrow road with fewer potholes than the lot itself.
A wonderful area for walking at any time of year, with its fabulous views out through the trees over the surrounding, undulating pastoral countryside, this woodland is particularly beautiful at bluebell time. I have never seen such a dense carpet of blue anywhere else.

What a wonderful woodland. First time here with the hound and most definitely won't be my last. Was very muddy, but I did expect it to be.

What a wonderful place this is. Several trails, lovely pine trees, lots of bluebells and birds singing. No bins around so please take all your rubbish with you. Unfortunately lots of people don't pick up after their dogs so be careful where you step.
Gabriela L — Google review
The postcode given doesn't take you to the car park, so follow " badby woods parking place " on Google maps with your phone and you'll find it. Parking spaces for around 10 cars only though, the rest will have to park on the road ... fear not though, the road has less pot holes than the car park !! 5 mins walk into the woods. VERY muddy in winter with some large puddles and mud slurry walk ways. Wellies definitely needed. Not good for buggies. No toilets or food available. Took us around an hour and a half to walk part of it. Thick dense woods but a fence contains it easily, so safe for dogs to run around. No dog bag bins so bring your own dog pooh bags and clear up the mess. Not very busy, and not very commercial. Very pretty in the summer!!!

Really gorgeous walk which really allows you to immerse yourself in nature. It's a must see when the bluebells are flowering, absolutely stunning!

Beautiful place to visit, either for a relaxing walk or Ghost hunting in the evening. Over 700 years of history and we should treasure it.
Nick M — Google review
Very tranquil old English hunting ground with lots of history.

Beautiful walk through the countryside, a lot of dog poo though from lazy dog owners, but nice place nonetheless.

Great for a weekend walk. Small carpark. It is also possible to park along the road but beware the road is quite narrow. The woods can be muddy - particularly the main footpath - but once you are off the main path it is much better. It's a good option for a walk when the weather isn't perfect as the trees provide good cover. The wood is full of bluebells in the Spring and extremely pretty.

High Wood and Meadow is a charming, small woodland with an acid marsh that offers a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle. It's perfect for a peaceful dog walk or simply enjoying nature away from crowds. The area is expected to be adorned with beautiful bluebells in the coming weeks, adding to its allure. With its serene ambiance and natural beauty, it's an ideal spot for a leisurely day out.
A Wildlife Reserve that’s like stepping into the past. A location like no other it’s full of so much wonder. It’s slightly remote but well worth the effort to locate it and once discovered you’ll want to return time and again. In the half dozen times I’ve visited I’ve only once come across another person. Breathtaking!

Beautiful old small woodland. Also has an acid marsh. Very quiet as off the beaten track. Ideal for an alternative dog walk, or just peace and quiet away from people. Great way to enjoy the local nature. Takes about 10-15 mins to walk there and 15-20 mins to walk around. Recommended.

Nice place for a walk I'm sure in a few weeks the place will be covered in bluebells as there were thousands of them just not flowing yet

Absolutely delighted with my new Paul James piece, king of the road! Andrea and Emma have been fantastic in terms expert curator adevise and overall customer service. I even got the pleasure of meeting Paul at his event where we got a personal dedication and also an insight into his life and inspirations of particular pieces. Thank you Andrea, Emma and Paul for allowing me to have this wonderful piece in our home.

We absolutely love the Urban Graffiti Collection by Paul James. It really embraces our own expenses as my wife and I both come from a big city and now love and live in the country. The humour and irony in the paintings offer great talking points and really bring our interior design to life. The Paul James team have made us feel like part of the family, we have had such a great experience meeting them all, visiting the museum and gallery and most of all the chance to meet and chat with Paul James. We already find that some of our purchases are highly sought after and obviously they are all strong investments that can be enjoyed. Thank you to Paul James and his team for everything.

My journey discovering Paul James Art came about on a visit to Heart of the Shires with a friend. We are both interested in Art and saw a sign to visit the showroom, which we did. Two pieces grabbed my attention and a couple of months one I am the proud owner of these two plus another piece I saw in the Gallery. The whole experience has been really great. Andreea explained some more details around the works I purchased and some of the others and I am hooked. Andreea came the other day and installed them and I haven't stopped smiling since.

Fantastic service and great communication. We have recently purchased 3 new pictures which brings us to a total of 5 by Paul James. The personal service from Andreaa the curator is second to none, she sorted everything out for us including the different frames and delivery. Andreaa checked that our pictures had arrived safely and we were happy with our purchases. We are now the proud new owners of Dave and the Lads who join our existing Road to Morella, Cow girls and Angelina, they all look magnificent and we couldn't be happier.

We’ve recently purchased another 4 Paul James paintings bringing our collection to 7! We used their bespoke framing service this time to ensure the paintings would fit between our panelling and light fittings. The staff were so helpful and patient with us as we changed our mind a billion times, making sure we could get the right fit!! We absolutely adore Paul James’ work and couldn’t be happier with the service! Thanks again! Now to furnish the room!

Thank you to Andrea and the team for helping us purchase our first piece of artwork for our new home. We were originally invited to a Paul James event at the start of the year and immediately fell in love with ‘pussy’. We knew then that this was the start of our adventure, however the timing was not right. Andrea was patient and understanding with us as she knew our situation well. As soon as the time was right we met with Andrea and ordered our first piece of Paul James Art. She guided us through the process and helped us select the appropriate size, and number which had significant meaning to us. We wanted a statement and that is exactly what we have achieved. ‘Pussy’ now sits proud in our dining area and we sit with her every day, discussing the pure perfection of the art and meanings behind it. We are in love with our artwork and can not wait for the next piece to arrive very soon. Andrea is a professional, knowledgeable and genuine person and we would not hesitate to recommend her expertise to anyone. We can’t thank you enough. Sam and Hayley

We have been collecting Paul James' art for more than 15 years and we have just purchased our 22nd piece, so it's fair to say we are fans of Paul's work ! We don't see ourselves as collectors - we own these pieces because they make us smile, every single day. A visit to the gallery in Daventry and a chance to meet Andreea, Paul C and the rest of the team, really added to the experience of purchasing a new Paul James painting. Their input, guidance and service from start to finish was simply exceptional. More recently, we had a chance to meet Paul and his wife, Linda, during the launch of his latest piece and thoroughly enjoyed talking to them about his work over the past number of years. Thank you Paul and thank you to the Paul James team!

Thank you to the team at Paul James Gallery. We have had such a positive experience buying some wonderful pieces that now have pride of place in the home. Andreea's enthusiasm for Paul's work throughout the virtual tour was the perfect endorsement for his work. We couldnt be happier!
