Where to eat: the 50 best restaurants in Peterborough

Still reeling after what can only be described as an astonishing evening at the Golden Pheasant; for all the wrong reasons! We arrived at 5.30 on Saturday evening. Our order was taken at about 6pm. An hour and a quarter later, we were still waiting for our food. Another table seemingly had the same problem and were told that they’d had issues in the kitchen. We felt we should have been made aware that there was a wait on food, particularly given that we had 3 children with us. Our food eventually arrived at 7.15. My husband’s pie came out first. The rest of us were sat there for another 10 minutes waiting. All of our food was lukewarm. There was no cheese on my son’s cheeseburger so we sent it back. It took around another 15 minutes for it to be returned. When we cut into the burger, it was raw. This is not how a child’s burger should be served. My sister in law had a butter milk chicken steak that was so overcooked she could barely get her fork through it. We’d also asked for condiments when the meals eventually came out. I was handed a bottle of vinegar which can only be describe as vintage, with bits floating at the bottom. We eventually got them when we’d pretty much finished eating. The restaurant continued to fill up despite the clear lack of capacity to get any food out on time and cooked properly. The whole situation was absolutely calamitous. At about 7.45 the waitress (who we felt so sorry for, being left alone to deal with a roomful of disgruntled diners) came in to announce that the kitchen was now closed!!!!! The chef had walked out after an altercation with the waiting and bar staff. There is so much more I could add but given that the manager took half off our bill, I will refrain from doing so. The whole experience was embarrassing. I am perplexed to see the managers responses to various poor reviews saying that improvements have been made, when the quite obviously have not!!! He and his wife actually turned up as we were leaving. Neither of them approached us to apologise, we were simply ignored. Such a shame as we have been coming here for years but we will not be returning.

Thursday evening supper with friends was convivial and very enjoyable in this excellent local pub. The menu is sensibly short with classics like fish and chips along with more adventurous offerings. Photos attached of my pigeon breast starter and sea bass on truffle risotto (sorry forget to take before I started!). The wine list is also short but a good selection and well priced. We enjoyed a Picpoul. The decor is gradually being updated by the new owners/managers but the friendly efficient service made the odd brick wallpaper disappear! Will definitely return. Good place for walking and cycling.

The Golden Pheasant is hands-down the best place to eat around Peterborough. The food is fantastic—fresh, full of flavour, and always spot on. Add in a great choice of beers and a proper country pub atmosphere, and you’ve got a winning combo. The staff are warm and welcoming, which makes every visit feel special. If you’re after amazing food and a good pint in a relaxed setting, this is the place to be.

I went on a lovely hot day and there was really nice stag but most of all the area was lovely and the food was amazing! I went with my family and it fit the criteria!!

Myself and friends have just had a lovely meal here. We all had something different (steak and ale pie/herb infused chicken/salmon) and we all thoroughly enjoyed our respective meals. Beth, our waitress was warm, attentive and friendly and meals arrived in good time. Lovely decor and a nice relaxed atmosphere.. we'll be back! Thankyou

Amazing!! We were a party of six including children and everybody had a lovely meal. The menu had something for everyone and we all left very happy. The staff were so friendly and welcoming, the food was stunning, chef max did an amazing job, I would’ve had ordered one of everything on the special if I could have. 10/10 Will be back again soon.

We ordered steak and some burgers for the kids and they were cooked and seasoned very well. The restaurant looks very nice in a great location in the town centre. The customer service was very good and no wait or delay in anything. Highly recommended

Our first visit after reading previous reviews. Best thing is they serve verity of Halal food , we order T-bone steak, chicken pasta and Burgers for kids. Portions were very generous and meat was so tender specially the steak. A little disappointed with service because no one passed through our table after the food was served.

Very good experience. The girls serving us were very efficient, quick and kept asking if everything was ok or if we need anything. Food was very good.

Hidden away on the side road off the main road, is XOXO. Glad I took the chance to visit, what a surprise it was. The food was excellent and served with a smile. Prawns were lovely, the Pina Colada was on point and the dirty fries was special (in a good way). Loved it, will be back for sure. Halal food served.

Second visit. Very lovely servers. Very friendly. I ordered the taco starters. Quite expensive for what it was. Also, it was mince meat, I thought it was going to be pulled beef. It said ‘slow cooked beef’. I went for the burger ‘naked’ very nice. Meat was still abit red. Food was tasty, well seasoned.

The food taste like something you would make quick doesn’t taste like something you would expect a restaurant food to taste, wouldn’t be coming back it doesn’t hit the spot but the drinks was good yummy

This place is awesome. The building was the old library apparently. You come in through quite a grand hallway as a result. The restaurant is very spacious, with the tables well separated. It was quiet when we went (Sunday lunch) but it shouldn't be noisy even when full. The staff are smart, friendly and attentive. We were warned the food would not be quick because it is prepared fresh and it shows. We had a variety of meals between four of us and all of it was excellent. Truly excellent. I had Himalayan Goat 🐐 Curry and the meat was melt in the mouth tender. This is our new favourite ever Indian restaurant ❤️. Such a shame we live 60 miles away. Obviously, one has to pay a little more for quality and spaciousness but it is very worthwhile here.

Very nice food, and it was lovely to see silver service table service. Made my daughter's birthday very regal. Tastefully decor. In the stunning buildings, that was Peterboroughs old library. Nice size portions, and you can get it home delivered as well bonus.

I’ve just returned from a lovely evening at Gurkha Durbaar, there were 4 of us dining they accommodated the group quickly and sufficiently when we changed the booking from 2 to 4 people. The service was impeccable, the staff were very accommodating, kind and couldn’t do enough for us. The food so fresh and flavoursome, my salmon basil tikka was cooked beautifully. As it took slightly longer to prepare than the other dishes they kept us informed throughout of the timings and gave us extra poppadoms. I highly recommend and will without a doubt be returning!

Absolutely gorgeous entrance inside and very well presented restaurant and also very big inside. The service was timed perfectly with friendly smiley staff, and the food was delicious, great flavours and nicely served.

Really tasty food, we enjoyed the chilli paneer and onion bhaji and perhaps the butter chicken was the best we’ve ever had. Service was very slow though, had to wait for at least 40 mins after our starters were finished. Nice decor, clean place. Parking is definitely an issue before 8pm.

Just got back from a mid afternoon meal for my birthday. Great service and food spot on. Dessert was a lovely touch.

Took my Dad out for his birthday! Food was excellent, really top notch and at a very decent price. Compliments to the chef (Milton). Andre was our server, he was very gracious and accommodating- excellent service! Overall a brilliant place to go!

The boathouse house is relaxed and the atmosphere is great. It's a good place to go with friends and family. The best thing about this pub restaurant it Never has any trouble. I go to the boat house 3 to 4 timesxa week. Except on a Wednesday. As they have speed dating. Good for people who are looking for love. And u know the rest. I highly recommend this place. The staff are young friendly and amazing. And as always I have my table reserved. And all other regulars that go there the staff knows all the locals. Reason why its such a good atmosphere. 10 stars 🌟

Andre service was great. Me and my family and friends meet her regularly and the service and food is always amazing. Relaxing atmosphere and the new festive menu is gorgeous. Recommend the duck and pate. Dog friendly, pup settles here well.

Had a great roast pork this afternoon, plenty of veg and very tasty! The sticky toffee pudding was fabulous too as was the garden burger my daughter had. We were served by the lovely Keaton who was very attentive and thoroughly good at hus job. Can highly recommend eating here.

Met my friend for lunch. Lovely pub, plenty of menu choice. Meal i had was very nice but meat in the pie was very fatty so left some of the filling. Our server was Andre and he could not be more helpful - or patient, with us. Lovely afternoon out

Best duck fat chips around. Love the burger! Love the steak! Went for the 8 course tasting menu last night for my wife's 50th birthday and it was out-of-this-world AMAZING! Get the Groupon for it and go! NOW! You will not be sorry.

Best vegetarian meal I have had in a very long time. I had the Moroccan Vegan Grill. So many wonderful flavours that mixed really well. The sides we ordered were also delicious. The chef and kitchen team are clearly really creative and that pays off in the amazing food. The staff were also lovely. It was my birthday treat and they made it very special. This is the least likely place to find this level of food and absolutely worth the trip out.

Highly recommend here for an incredible Sunday roast. Great service, every morsel was delicious, and not only is it dog friendly (indoors and out), they served our dog his own roast (pictured in foil). Make sure you book in advance!

Had a delightful lunch with my family here. Staff were very polite and friendly, and the quality of the food was excellent. This was the lobster I ordered, with a cajun pork rib meat finish. Absolutely delicious. This place is very busy and service can be a little slow at times but the atmosphere is great and it's well worth the wait! Recommended! :)

An absolutely lovely place to stay. We spent two nights here recently and it was fantastic. Our room was gorgeous. The bed was extremely comfortable and had lovely cozy pillows, which is a rarity. The owners and staff were so very welcoming and friendly. Breakfast was delicious, we had a full English brekkie (amazing, I could eat the duck fried bread by the plateful) and Greek yoghurt with granola, honey, and loads of fruit. It's clear that they take great pride in serving excellent food. We also had the Sunday roast, and again, it was exceptional. Really highly recommended Dog in a Doublet, overall it was a lovely, relaxed, friendly, welcoming place to stay. With fantastic food. What more could you want!

Very luckily to get a table for date night and haven't been here since Feb pre lockdown. The special board is huge!! The quality of food here is amazing! Steaks cooked to perfection first Wagyu experience and won't be last very friendly and helpful staff look forward to returning again soon!

We visited The Cuckoo this evening as a family of five; myself, my partner, and our three children and had a fantastic experience from start to finish. Our server, Gift, was absolutely brilliant: friendly, attentive, and made us feel genuinely welcome throughout our meal. The children’s menu was a hit they loved their chicken and steak options, which were well-portioned and tasty. My partner and I shared the Mixed Sticky Starter, which was full of flavour and a great way to begin the meal. For mains, I had the Lamb Kebab and my partner went for the Pork Belly, both dishes were beautifully cooked and presented. We finished with desserts that did not disappoint: the Sticky Toffee Pudding was rich and comforting, and the Chocolate Orange Bomb was a real showstopper, indulgent and delicious. Overall, the food was excellent, the service outstanding, and the atmosphere warm and relaxed. We’ll definitely be back!

One of the few good places to eat in Alwalton/Peterborough. Food is delicious, service is good and timely, staff is polite and helpful. It has a place for everyone I suppose, you can seat Indoor in cosy spot or in more private zone or outside, you get to choose however you wish to. In terms of food taste, it's rare to find a place where all things tastes good. Only downside would be the portion size and Tiramisu can be better. Would recommend to try for sure. 👍

We return here after having a lovely Sunday lunch the other week. Reece was serving us and he was absolutely amazing. He was caring and attencious keeping us updated with everything that was going on with our food. Definitely we will come back again :)

Enjoyed the most wonderful family lunch at The Cuckoo! We were shown to a lovely table upstairs and were warmly greeted by Reece who was very polite, helpful and attentive at all times! Given the fact we arrived following a 3 day Bank Holiday weekend and the staff had worked so hard, Reece still made sure we had a wonderful experience on the day! Excellent Customer Service! Great spot for a Monday office dinner! The vibe was relaxed, the staff were super friendly, and the food hit the spot. The lamb skewers with hummus and flatbread were definitely the highlight for me.

Nicely situated in a scenic English town serving refined meals. We were a large group yet service never lagged. We had the 7 oz steak, bacon chop, house burger, and sea bass. The only complaint was the burgers and steak were a little over the desired temperature of medium rare. Other than that it was an enjoyable evening spent with friends. The sticky toffee pudding is a must try.

The worst meal I’ve had in a long time. Ordered at the bar. Paid £39 upfront. Carried my own cutlery, napkin, glass of wine and glass of water back to the table. Pea soup: slimy but just about edible. Sea bass served in a watery sauce with cold prawns. Sea bass hot in places and lukewarm others due to microwaving. Cold potatoes, broccoli passable. Awful music. Took this photo and walked out.

Aimee has been an amazing host to our table. She was very observant and never left us waiting without. She had a very cheerful approach and was always there to suggest options to us and give us guidance on the menu. A valid member of staff who meets all customers needs to a high level. This place lives up to its high rating! I tried to resist going to this place since, from the outside, it looks a lot like the touristy places we have in Miami. But the food blew me away, I had the Curry Goat Hash. Can you use the word sublime with a dish like that? Every component of this dish was done perfectly. Inside it has a upbeat vibe and nice eating outside too.

Our time at Turtle Bay (Peterborough) was amazing, from the service to the absolute best food to Keira gentleness, good attitude, well service, everything was perfect. We did enjoy the cocktails and jerk platters. Well definitely come again. Thank you Francois and Nathalie

First time here, celebrating a 45 year wedding anniversary just myself and hubby. Staff friendly and attentive; nothing too much trouble. Mel in particular was an absolute diamond. She made our night such fun and looked after us so very well. Thanks Mel, what a lovely young lady with a huge smile and full of life. I blame the 2 4 1 cocktails for making me forget to take photos of the scrumptious food on delivery! We had chicken wings to start followed by the Sharing Jerk platter both well recommended 👌

What a fantastic way to spend a lazy afternoon. I sat outside, in the sun and loved the tranquility of the view across the church square while I had a relaxing lunch. The fish tacos and jerk chicken with coconut rice were full of flavour and a great reminder of my trips to Trinidad. The servers were attentive and responsive which made the whole experience relaxing and enjoyable.

I visited while I Peterborough for work. The staff were friendly and helpful greeting me quickly and finding me a seat. The food was absolutely amazing I had salt fish and ackee rolls for starter and a goat curry for the main with a side order of garlic flatbread. Wonderful staff, wonderful food and a wonderful atmosphere what more can you ask for!

Jeff was amazing at fixing our drinks!! Gave us her own concoction every time and surprised us with a new flavour - will not forget and I recommend her to anyone that comes in, in the future. :)

Love this place. Have been here twice with my colleagues and always had a great service and food. We love it as the location is close to our work and food is great same as a price is adequate. Portions looks like in the restaurants. All my colleagues enjoyed their food

Had a lovely experience here. Great service from fun happy friendly staff. Excellent communication from management covering my booking. Really enjoyed my meal with my Daughter. Highly recommend and will definitely visit again. Oh and I noticed pets are also welcome.

I've been here a few times and it's usually lovely so not sure what happened today, my mum ordered the gammon, it was burnt and chewy, the egg was so overdone, so no yolk, the chips very overdone, quite disappointed 😞

We had the shared platter for starter between 3 & it was delicious. Sadly my mushroom & ale pie wasn't so good. Veg was overcooked & peas dried up, pastry was hard to cut & eat & contents was non existent! My friends, however, enjoyed their mains of curry & mixed grill. My pie main was taken off the bill with apologies.

My recent visit to Beefeater Granary, Peterborough was a major disappointment, raising serious questions about whether the brand can continue to survive without urgent changes. We had planned a special family meal, but instead, we were left with an experience that felt completely subpar. While the waitress provided excellent service, the food was unacceptable. The roast dinners were cold and burnt, more resembling a low-effort fast-food meal than a proper restaurant dish. The portion sizes and presentation were equally underwhelming, failing to justify the price or the reputation Beefeater once had. To make matters worse, the toilets were dirty, reflecting the neglected state of the entire restaurant, which is in desperate need of refurbishment. The atmosphere felt tired, uninspired, and far below the standard expected of an established chain. For a restaurant meant to bring people together over a good meal, this visit failed in almost every way. If Beefeater wants to remain relevant, it must reflect on its future—improvements to cleanliness, portion sizes , and overall quality are not optional; they are essential. Based on this experience, returning would be difficult to justify. Note, if you are hungry…. Don’t have one of their premium burgers as it reminded me of a fast food happy meal! Dropped in here for a drink on a warm friday evevning. Service was great, and pleasant to sit outside with views of the golf course. Handy if staying at the Premier Inn.

Nice and quiet where we sat , got busier later. Friendly staff. Clean especially toilets . Good lunch deals . They make up for it in drinks prices . Nice views of the golf course. Free tap water . Delicious food. Vegan options .

Went for my brother birthday (table of 5) the food was nice. Except we did have to complain as the baconeater burger looked nothing! Like the image that was on the menu. Very misleading. I'm now looking at the other items we chose and see they also do not look like what was advertised. (See image attached) The price has gone up with all items on the menu at least £15 and up. I'd say it's not really worth it or the price tag. While they tasted okay, it wasn't mind blowing and doesn't really justify the high price tags. Probably won't be returning as there are much better priced food elsewhere.

My family and I were visiting Peterborough and we stumbled across this place. The food was great quality, to which the family all enjoyed - good price too. Will definitely revisit when I’m in the area next. Worker Melissa was exceptional, served us with the biggest smile. Great service all around 👍🏻.

I went to the Beefeater this week with my two children. As there was an offer on this summer I was asked to sign up to the company. I then waited ages for the email to offer me the discount but it didn't come. When I asked the lady at the tills he then had to ask her manageress said it takes 4 days to come through!! I asked why he didn't just say this in the first place as other restaurants are automatic. The food came out abd my daughters steak was completely charcoaled that she couldn't bite through it! My chicken melt wrap was cold and tasted like the chicken hadn't even been cooked properly. My daughter did get a replacement meal but I definitely wouldn't come back again. Based on poor quality of food and fakse advertising of a summer offer that doesn't even apply!

We had amazing service from Amy at the Beefeater Granary in Peterborough we were a group of 26 and chose from the lunchtime deal menu the food was lovely and piping hot and nothing was too much trouble. It’s nice to visit a restaurant as a large group that doesn’t require pre-orders. We also had great service from the the bar staff thank you all for making us so welcome, we to visit again very soon.

Had a fantastic experience at Middleton’s Peterborough. Three of us dined - one ribeye, one cheeseburger, and one rump. The ribeye was perfectly cooked, juicy, and full of flavour. My son (10) couldn’t stop raving about his cheeseburger, said it was “awesome.” The fries were spot-on, crisp and golden. The staff were a real highlight, friendly, engaged, and genuinely seemed to enjoy their work. They were informative too, adding a nice touch to the whole experience. The mocktails were a hit, refreshing and well-presented. Overall, a great spot for a solid meal with a welcoming vibe. Highly recommend!

I took my wife for her birthday 🎊 and this place was phenomenal. The food was incredible and the service was perfect, the right combination of nothing is too much trouble and leaving the customer to enjoy the time. I'm sorry to say I don't know the name of the guy who served us but he was epic, friendly, welcoming and was truly interested in you having an all round enjoyable time. Thank you for an amazing lunchtime.

Service was fairly good and friendly although occasionally there were no staff nearby when required and the restaurant was surprisingly very quiet (730pm on a Saturday). The food generally tasted good but there were issues. Portion size for the Macaroni Cheese was very small, it was an option as both a starter and main, but apparently what we were given was a Main (as requested) , which I felt was very small, see photo below. When it arrived it was almost cold and this is the first time I've ever sent food back. It was promptly replaced and was hot. The Steak was decent as were the sides. However the dessert of Chocolate Fondant was a disappointment..it had no liquid centre and was solid like a cake (see photo). I would have asked for this to be changed too but there were no staff nearby. With a few tweaks the experience could have been alot better but as it stands we probably wouldn't return.

What a great place, super friendly quick service, tasty food and tremendous value. Cheaper than the street stalls for a really good lunch.

We recently visited *Steak House Peterborough* during our stay and were very impressed by the exceptional friendliness and professionalism of the staff. The service was attentive and welcoming, making us feel comfortable throughout our visit. Unfortunately, the dining experience did not quite meet our expectations. While the food was well-prepared, the portion sizes were much smaller than anticipated, especially considering the price. I ordered the grilled sea bass with potatoes and steamed broccoli, but the portion of potatoes was so small it barely covered the bottom of the dish. My boyfriend ordered the mixed grill, which consisted of a very small piece of gammon, a modest rib-eye steak, and a small portion of lamb. Despite the quality, the portions left us still hungry. Given the limited portion sizes, we found ourselves needing to order takeaway afterward, as the meal simply wasn’t enough to satisfy. For a steakhouse, we expected more substantial portions that offered better value for the cost. We've included photos to illustrate our experience. In conclusion, while the staff and service at *Steak House Peterborough* were excellent, the portion sizes and value left us disappointed.

We were a large group and they were happy to accommodate us on short notice. The food was delicious, steak cooked to perfection. Our waitress was lovely and we had a good laugh with her. Great atmosphere and although it was a Tues evening it was quite busy, but not noisy. Would've been nice to see a surf and turf on the menu with lobster though! Pudding was nice, but would've liked the creme brulee warm.

Booked in for mother's day and it did not disappoint. Had a beautiful Sunday roast everything was cooked to perfection. We also managed to squeeze in a pudding to share after which again was delicious. We would most definitely come again. We were staying in the area but we live around an hour away and would even travel just to have the beautiful food again!

Disappointed, 2nd time eating here, difference since last time is night and day. Lunch time, my wife ordered a fish finger sandwich, and I appreciate cheese & pickle sandwich, both came with a cup of soup and potato crisps. It came, sandwiches uncut (the picture is after I cut it) soup was indeed a cup, and the crisps.... amounted to 4 of, well 3.5 lol. I complained that £13 and £12 respectively that I would be excpeting at least a handful of 'potatoe crisps), kitchen apparently said they are all portioned out and so won't be giving me anymore that the 4 that I had. The bread was pretty poor tbf also. We were offered a free round of drinks.... which im sure would cost the same as just giving us a decent amount of 'potatoe crisps'. Very disappointed indeed. Edit. Attended on a Sunday at about 1.30pm. It was relatively busy so much so that we couldn't get the Sunday Roast because we hadn't booked it in advance. It's best to view the menu online before planning your visit if you intend to dine there on a Sunday and to also phone ahead of time if you want the Sunday Roast! 😕

Honestly, the service here is brillant, the food is tasty and it’s a clean place. The gentleman, James I think his name was, is a great laugh. Make sure you book in advance.

Could not fault the food at all. Service was a little slow after we'd initially been seated but staff were welcoming & friendly. We were advised near the end of our booking that they needed the table for the next booking but this could have been avoided if we hadn't been waiting quite a while after we'd been seated.

This venue is well worth visiting. Friendly and efficient staff(Josh,Jake& Stuart), delicious food and welcoming ambiance made my visit memorable. There was a lot of seating available inside and outside. It was spotlessly clean as well.

Wonderfully attentive service, great food and a really nice atmosphere. Chicken Caesar Salad was perfect. I could not fault it, good size and chicken nicely grilled

Went here due to it being close to the hotel I’m staying in. Service was very unenthusiastic and to be honest a little rude. Asking questions and just no answer from the lad at the bar. Food was nice though although starter was served with no cutlery… when the main came still none so I asked and you had to get it yourself. Would have been nice to be informed about this but with no conversation possible at the bar when ordering I guess that was a long shot at best. It was ok but I wouldn’t likely go back to harvester based on this as I like good service and I can find it in most other places.

It was busy but still very cosy and calm and the service was great. We could see the waiting staff were rushed but they were all so happy and positive and friendly. Standard harvester food cooked well and nice and hot. My son made a kebab out of his chicken burger 🤷‍♂️😁

This place is hit and miss. On this occasion the bacon wasn’t very well cooked on my chicken burger and the ice cream for me was too excessive on my desert compared to when I visited a week before. It ruined my what was warm to begin with Belgium waffle. However, that might be some people’s preference. I won’t be visiting again anytime soon. The waitresses provided great service though. Free salad bar is also a good incentive.

A good restaurant, service is very good and so is the atmosphere. They now have a new menu and it has a lot of better choices.

I won 4 free meals as a result of a competition. The food was delicious, i had mixed grill, our server was Cherelle who was really friendly with a lovely personality. She really made me feel at ease as i'm a very anxious person when i go out so it definitely helps when you have polite,friendly staff like her. :) we are likely to come back oneday after having such a great experience. Very enjoyable trip this morning have to say Eva was brilliant she made sure we had everything and that the food was well cooked and presented by chef Ryan it was my first time trying the ultimate breakfast waffle and it was amazing 😍 thank you so much the kids also enjoyed theirs we had no problem in eating every last bite! Definitely recommend and would visit again!

Good place to dine. The wife and I went on a date, at 6:30 was pretty full so I glad i’ve booked it in advance. The food was really good and fairly quick was brought in, about 30 min. Friendly staff. Btw, if you order the ultimate mix combo must ensure you are hungry; or you can share it, is huge.

Good food, exactly as expected given the price point. Salad bar was fresh and well stocked, the restaurant was clean and so were the toilets. Very accommodating of us bringing a small baby with us and gave us a table with loads of room for the pram. Excellent service from Mickey as well - thank you!

Absolutely amazing. The service, the food, the whole atmosphere was brilliant. Haven't been back for a longtime and so many positives to take from it all. All cooked to perfection.

We went late afternoon on a Saturday and there was only a few other tables in so can't fault how attentive the staff were. They were really friendly and came over to check on us multiple times. They have lots of vegan options I opted for the vegan chicken flat bread which was really tasty and filling was like than £10 so definitely good value as came with chips too. Also managed to squeeze desert in the apple pie massive portion but lacking flavour. Would definitely come back again.

Great experience today the food came out so quickly and was so yummy. Jo is a superstar and you are lucky to have such a friendly member of staff on the team. If we didn't live in Norwich we would be back every week 😂 little issue with the bill a few extra items had appeared but that was soon sorted out.

Loved my meal I had the 7oz gammon, staff were friendly we had Mickey serve us she was lovely, pretty hanging plants, nice salad bowls and loved the raspberry woo woo 🍹💗

We waited some time to be seated before anyone noted our presence in the restaurant. After that the service was fine, the restaurant was very quiet, just a few other tables occupied. I enjoyed the choice of flavoured drinks and the food was ok. I was asked if I wanted sweet potato fries rather than chips but not told they cost more. We both had the chicken stack. The breast of chicken was a little too well cooked so a bit dry but the rest was better. We enjoyed the salad bar, it was fresh and well stocked as were the bowl of rolls, sauces and toppings. We had 20% off food, very useful as the price of meals had gone up a lot since our last visit, over a year ago.

Me and my friend dined here one evening after arriving we were made to feel very welcome and were given a choice of tables to sit at which was nice. The lovely Bethany was our waitress and did a great job attending to us. The Set menu (Carvery and Desert)we choose was a great price and we were very satisfied with the food. This was the first time we have dined here and will definitely be returning!

Noel, Jodi and Fran were very lovely today at Tony’s Carvery, we had a really nice time and the atmosphere was great partly due to their friendly and approachable attitudes! They were very good with allergies too.

Went for lunch today 10.09.25 and had a great time. From the food to the service everything and everyone was great. Got to point out that the staff there really do make you feel at home, very friendly and helpful. Credit where credit is due.

We had lunch today. The lovely Zoe served us and she was fabulous from the moment we arrived. Attentive but not overbearing. We had the carvery and the gentleman serving was brilliant and was really great with the children, playing a little game with them. It's our first time here and we would come again. I had the lamb and my husband had the beef and both were excellent. We then had a few drinks outside which was lovely to finish the meal off. We were a little full after our mains but we will be back to explore the puddings. A really lovely first experience.

I visited Mattoni Restaurant on Saturday, and even though the place was fully packed, the experience was absolutely flawless. The service was professional, friendly, and efficient, with the front-of-house team handling everything seamlessly. The food was outstanding — you can tell the chefs are highly skilled and passionate about what they do. Every dish was prepared perfectly and served without delay, despite how busy it was. Overall, it was an amazing experience, and I’ll definitely be coming back regularly. A huge well done to the whole team for delivering such quality under pressure — everything was brilliant!🤩🤩

Second time visiting this restaurant, and the food was delicious once again! Great service, food was received really quickly. The staff were friendly and attentive, making sure we always had a drink to hand. Lovely atmosphere, but it was a busy Friday night so it got quite noisy! Very good prices for the quality of food. I have been going here on and off for years. But yesterday was just awful. Not once at all did anyone come over to our table to ask us if we wanted some drinks, we had to order at the bar, we had to clear our own glasses as well. We ordered at 7.20 and our food had still not arrived at 9pm!!! No one ever came and gave us an update, we had to ask. We saw people come in after us and have their food before us. It was dreadful service. Will never go back. I was informed by several people that since new ownership the standards and service have dropped.

I ordered for about 15-16 people on a charity bike ride so they were desperate for good quality food. They all said it was cracking and everything tasted good. The were two or three missed bits, but it was a huge order, and I have never had this before, but they called me, apologised for the error and immediately refunded me any bits that were missing. Honestly, I would absolutely use this venue again and they did everything I asked. I would split an order for pizza and pasta as they cook differently but I found it superb.

This wasn’t my first visit to Bella Italia as I love the food so much but I had to leave a review for Mark. The service from him was exceptional. He literally cannot do enough for you, he makes you laugh at any given chance. Mark is the definition of service with a smile. I will definitely be back. Thank you ☺️

The staff front of house here are a credit to Bella Italia and any restaurant across the UK could learn alot from them in Peterborough. Polite, engaging, efficient and helpful (they care!). Here for the weekend from Kent, and spent two evenings at Bella, so impressed with the first visit. Good food, good service. 10/10 Will return when back on business next month.

My husband and I love Bella Italia! Every time we go, we always have an excellent experience. The staff, food,and atmosphere are always on point. The team are always friendly, but Mark is an asset to the team, as he genuinely cares about everyone who walks through the doors and is so funny!

We had booked a table, and despite there being plenty of space, a waitress mumbled something about getting a table ready. She then walked off, serving other customers and left us standing in the doorway. After 5 or 6 minutes a different staff member approached to ask if we had booked. Finally we were seated, but it was quite some time before we were offered a drink. When the food was ordered, it was very slow to arrive. Fries were missing, and my 'make your own pasta dish' was missing the meatballs I asked for. It was also supposed to be finished with a bit of fresh chilli, but the were so many hot chillies in that it was inedible, I piled them up on the side of the plate. . I had to send it back. By the time a replacement arrived my two accompanying diners had already finished. We received an apology, but a free drink? A reduction in the bill? No, it was an expensive meal with very poor service and definitely not worthy of recommendation.

The atmosphere was wonderful however the food was a disappointment. I enjoy Bella Italia as a franchise and have been to many however this was the worst food. I got chicken Milanese and the chicken was overcooked and had been fried too long, it had been fried so long I couldn’t cut through it and after letting the waitress know she simply said ‘ oh sorry about that’ but made no effort to resolve the issue which was a shame. The spaghetti was lacking sauce however the fries were lovely as was the cocktails.

We had a brilliant lunch there, the place is lovely, the staff were very welcoming and great-natured, and our server Lynda was fantastic. Lynda had such a positive attitude and was so nice and attentive making us feel welcome and we could see other diners loved engaging in conversation with Lynda which is always lovely to see. The food was tasty, loved the soup of the day with cauliflower, the roasts and the pie. The outdoor seating area is amazing and so beautiful definitely a place to go often in the summer but the interior was also beautiful and well kept. We will be back with more family!

A really enjoyable meal. The food was fresh and hot. The vegan cottage pie (made with lentils) was fabulous. The fish and chips was great, the fish batter was light & crispy. Service was good, even though it got very busy at around 1pm.

Family birthday dinner for 4, lovely relaxed atmosphere and super food, paying what you would expect. Attentive, polite and professional staff. Special shout out to Erinn in her training 10/10 in all aspects of order taking and delivery, check backs and clearance and to Becki for great tutorage and strong support, so nice to see. We visited for Sunday lunch. I appreciate it is a busy time, however they surely know that and should act accordingly, service was extremely slow, had to wait and ask the waitress to come for every single things, at the end we went to the bar ourselves to pay the as bill as we were fed up waiting. On top of that, I had £10 off welcome offer, which was applied, but not exactly as we ordered 3 sides for £10 and when the discount was applied, the starters were automatically charged to their initial price which was more like £13 rather than £10, that's really disappointing. Good was good, the roast potatoes though felt like they were cooked 2 days ago and preheated. Not sure we will visit again. It's a pricy place, must operate to an excellence, sorry.

We had a lovely time coming for lunch. We were served by Jess who was great, the service was really quick and the food was lovely.

Sunday evening family meal. Very welcoming and attentive staff. Extensive choice on the menu of familiar pub favourites and some interesting alternatives - the skewers looked fantastic and were enjoyed. Although The Fitzwilliam Arms is part of a chain it retains its own independent feel. Will certainly visit again

Went for a friend's birthday. This had to be one of the worst meals out ever. How this place is still open. Salad was wilted, friend asked for a slice of bloomer with hers and got cheap sliced bread. The carrot wasn't the thin slices, but dried out batons. For dessert one friend had jam roly poly. It was like a brick, the custard was more a thick skin and inedible. I would never recommend to anyone.

Food was absolutely rubbish ordered smothered chicken but it definitely wasn't i asked to change the chips for jacket potato but they didnt have any and this was only miid day the garlic bread was only cooked on 1 side the place is falling apart and really dirty went to the toilet and my feet was sticking to the floor the carpet had all holes in it definitely won't be going there again

Had a lovely evening with friends and family, enjoyed a meal in the restaurant, I recommend the garden gourmet burger, and sweet potato curry, service was very pleasant, nothing was too much trouble for Lucy and her team, they are very welcoming and friendly. We sat in the bar after and played chess, the atmosphere was warm, friendly and welcoming. I would definitely the Paul pry for a nice meal or drink, the atmosphere was great. It's kid friendly and has plenty of parking space. Thank you for an overall enjoyable experience 😊

Went for breakfast at the Paul pry, breakfast was lovely and cooked to how you like it , there was s really good selection of breads and pastry, crumpets and pancakes, lots of little jams , coffees and tea, fresh fruits yoghurt and juices. Staff , particularly mark was very helpful we shall definitely be coming back again.

Overall, it's a dity place that needs updating. Short staffed and a bad layout. The food was okay and fairly priced. At one point, a chef or cook was serving behind the bar. Breakfast, again waiting. Porridge was not cooked properly. Bacon was cold fry'd eggs dripping in oil.

Would of been 0 stars in possible Food Very poor, almost burger van road side level if not worse, burger pictured bun was burnt, and the burger was pink raw in the centre, little flavour and no effort in making it, coca cola drink taste watered down, Had breakfast from premier Inn here also and that was awful, sausages was chewy, bread was hard. Premises Very dated and dark, not a comfortable atmosphere Staff Some are Friendly, but most seem so over worked or not care, was not told about the meal deal allowance from Premier in so ordered onion rings and was told at leaving its not part of the deal? Breakfast staff was very rude and I nearly walked out, wish I had when the breakfast arrived. Overall I wouldn't bother and take a walk somewhere else, Waste of time, effort and money.

After returning since this place has changed staff and has had its interior and menu makeover afew years ago. Returning yesterday with my Grandmother for some lunch on a Saturday which was quiet actually became a disappointment I wouldn’t write about normally. The place does need some minor fixes and touch of paint as you can notice the wear evidently. The atmosphere when quiet lacks the music and relaxed atmosphere the restaurant used to carry. I think the old look, feel and was much a better and timeless look of a typical Bistro vs the new refurb look. Ordering starters for her (as a main) and a starter and main for myself. While the start was ok for myself, it had taken over 25 minutes for a pan fried steak and frites, what was even worse was that both the waitress assistant manager were aware I had a main after both they had taken my starter plate and only being a few metres away at the bar talking, prepping mint and looking at their monitor, I notified both of them once about my next course to which a nod was made and nothing else. Customer service when busy is understandable, but when quiet should be a priority especially when it is a quick lunchtime fix. After seeing they had brought my steak with another set of customers who arrived 20 minutes after us, I realised that my food would have sat there and been brought out in same time to save on workload. After refusing the steak and having to leave, I got asked if I wanted a teak away, to a piece of pan fired steak that, to be honest looked like rubber. The lack of awareness and initiative from the junior staff was so poor. I wouldn’t even go for coffee here again (have before and it’s average compared to the mediocre offering in Peterborough, so it’s not really saying much.) Maybe it’s an off day at the restaurant, maybe since the buy out, refurb and change of staff they have a new way of working, but the business as a whole was a lot better in its old aesthetic and feel and especially service.

My colleagues and I had our work Christmas Party this year at Cote and it was an amazing experience! The service was fantastic, setting was lovely, and the food was amazing! Everything was very tasty, well-made and brought out swiftly. I've been going there for several years, this was my first Christmas party

The thing that stands out the most at this Cote, is how lovely the staff are. They are so professional and friendly. We have chosen to go to this restaurant three times recently, purely based on their excellent customer service. Their outside seating is a lovely spot, opposite a beautiful church. The food is always to a high standard and their £5 happy hour between 5pm-7pm is well worth it.

One place that I absolutely love about Peterborough, upon entering the building you realise it’s such a hospitable and friendly environment. I always have a great time, and enjoy the audience it attracts. The chef comes through each and every time. No matter what you spend, you’re taken care of.

Fantastic meal out with my family. It was their anniversary and the staff read all the notes we made during the booking and even left a lovely card on the table congratulating them. The service was fantastic and Felicia was a great and professional host. The food is amazing too, we had mussels, garlic bread, calamari and onion soup for starters. For our mains we had the salmon dish, slow cooked pork. The food came out on hot plates and the presentation was fantastic. The food was sweet and savoury with a perfect balance of flavours to make it feel very hearty and welcoming. We will be back

Went last night after a graduation and it was lovely. There's a new owner who couldn't have been a better host. Service was brilliant and the food was fantastic. There was even a cocktails special menu on with a deal so we saved a bit of money too which is always a bonus. If I'm in the area again I'll be eating here for dinner!

We tried the tasting menu here a few weeks ago and it’s well worth the money! There was a huge amount of food, and a great way to try new things. Our waitress was lovely and explained all the dishes as they arrived which added to the experience.

Had a fabulous meal here last night. The staff are so friendly. The food is far and away the best Indian I’ve had in a long time. The vegetarian options were amazing and the meat eaters were pleased too. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.

Came in for lunch today with 2 other people. It was empty and were the only people there during lunch. Great atmosphere for us! We come here regularly with family so food was lovely as usual. We would definitely recommend their biryani! We had lamb and chicken and they were cooked so well, the lamb was soft and chicken tikka packed a punch of flavours. I had Massala Dosa and it was great. We ate everything and we we’re definitely full afterwards as the portion sizes are big enough. Price is not too bad, considering the portion sizes it’s great.

Went here with a friend after seeing good reviews online. We arrived earlier evening and were able to walk straight in and be seated. Staff were very plesent. Shout out to the manager who was attentive and engaging. Food arrived quickly and it was very tasty. Great location to make for an easy night if you wanted to carry on your evening after a meal.

We were going to have a simple family lunch, however after settling on the taster menu it turned out to be a four hour eating marathon. Everybody was blown away by the service and the dishes we were served. The taster menu was perfect to sample a wide variety of dishes, and the portions were very generous. It might have just been luck (or we hit a less busy period), however every time a new dish was being served the owner came around to give us a little story about it and took his time to explain how it was prepared. We personally found it a great touch. Overall, the new management left a rather positive impression, and we look forward to dining with them again!

My experience at Banyan tree is always 10/10! The dishes are always made to perfection, and the atmosphere is always great and service is impeccable, you can see everyone that works there really cares for the place especially Oskar! I’d rightly recommend anyone going there especially during the Valentine’s Day period when they do their amazing tasting menu!

Steak Thursday........Ordered the sirloin...probably the worst Steak I have ever had. Even the Steak knife was struggling to cut through any part of it.Thank God I ordered a fried egg on top,to at least give me some sustenance. Everything else coming out to surrounding diners didn't look much better either. Staff were apologetic, and I was offered a free drink, but I didn't bother, and I suspect that Greene King will not be bothered in the slightest by this review!

It was a great party last night. Really good atmosphere to have celebrations in there. Really recommend. Woodman team and DJ just made the party so wild and boogie boogie. We know where the next party will be again 🎂🍸🍾🎉🥳

My wife and I had our wedding here and I really have to say how amazing Carol and all the staff were, we were so looked after and as a result we had the best night of our lives. Carol and all the staff looked after us from the moment we decided to have our wedding there and really helped to relieve a lot of the stress of planning and decorating. We tried to book in advance, but were told we don't need a reservation. We had a family lunch here. The food was nice. We got everything we ordered, service was very laid back, so laid back that no one came to clear the plates after we finished eating.

Very nice, good quality, for me 2 of the most important things on a good breakfast is the coffee and the sausages, and they were spot on, all the food had great taste. Very enjoyable breakfast with a good coffee to wash it down with. Only slight niggle waiter asking how everything was (one just taken our 1st bite lol)

We called in this morning for brunch which was really lovely. Lucy, the lovely young lady who served our coffees was very friendly and smiley. I have to say my latte was perfection 💜

We have been to Argo Lounge on numerous occasions and never had a bad meal! The food is always cooked within a reasonable amount of time and whatever I’ve ordered has always tasted amazing. Our last experience was the best to date. We had just got legally married and decided to get some lunch in Argo Lounge. I was wearing a veil and the girl who was serving us asked if we’d just got married. I said yes and she offered us a complimentary drink. She then came back a while later and asked if she could take a Polaroid picture of us, we didn’t mind and said yes. 15 minutes later, she was back with a little card, signed by all the Argo Lounge team with our picture attached to the card. It had to be the sweetest little unexpected surprise and we were made to feel very special. Kudos to all the waiting staff in Argo Lounge. I have found them to be nothing short of exceptional. 5 stars all around, foods is great, customer service is great, as is the atmosphere. 👏🏼🫶🏼

Six of us went to Argo Lounge on a Monday night. It was pretty quiet so couldn't give the atmosphere a full score of five but it was really pleasant so, 4/5. Didn't realise that they have a deal on a Monday and spotted it on the menus so we took advantage. Combined with not being walked to a table even though we were asked to wait at the front, 4/5 for the service as the staff were all very nice and helpful. We all ordered something different yet everything came quickly, together, hot and treating delicious. These days it seems dinner places struggle to get any of those so to get all of them, it's a definite 5/5. All together is a 4/5 and we will certainly be going back and would recommend happily to others. Keep up the great work Argo Lounge!

Wheelchair friendly. Staff are Allergy aware. Gluten and Lactose Free is no problem and all Free From Food is prepared in a separate area. The Free From menu is excellent and adaptable. I had no problems as a wheelchair user and have food allergy’s . Lovely friendly staff. Food was nicely prepared and cooked to perfection. Price was as expected and not too expensive. I definitely recommend.

Excellent bar, cafe and restaurant in the centre of Peterborough. Part of the Lounges group which have an industrial decor and friendly staff. Excellent food plus vegan and gluten free menus. Good coffee and beer. Make sure you read what you get with the meal as you may want to add some extras. Good value for money.

We had some lunch with family in the afternoon. It wasn't busy, but we were waiting for food for a while, which wouldn't be a problem, but we struggled to get the staff's attention to order more drinks. Pizza felt a bit stingy on the toppings, not my favourite to be honest. Some of our food was on the cold side. On the good side the interior looked nice and fresh.

My boss was in the area recently and asked if we could meet in Peterborough for lunch. I used to work there, but my knowledge of places to eat is a bit limited. I’d never tried Wildwood before, so I decided to give it a go. It’s just off the main square and has flat, level access. The entrance door was wide enough, and there was plenty of space at the front and around our table. The tables themselves were a good height for wheelchair access. I did make use of the accessible bathroom. It’s on the smaller side — my carer and I had to do a bit of the hokey pokey to get back out again! Still, it was usable. As it was a quiet lunchtime, it was easy to navigate through the tables to reach the back of the restaurant. If it had been busy, though, I think I’d have needed to ask people to shift their chairs or squeeze in. Food and service were spot on, and overall it was a really pleasant lunch. I’d definitely go back — though I can’t say what the atmosphere or space would feel like when the place is full.

The food at Wildwood was excellent—fresh, flavorful, and well-presented. However, the staff seemed more focused on chatting and checking their phones than attending to customers. A little more attentiveness would improve the experience.

Decent food ruined by poor service. Staff didn’t really seem to care and no one really took ownership of our table meaning lots of different servers with no clue where our evening was at. Food came out all staggered and missing things, but what did arrive was decent. The kitchens being let down big time by the waiting team here. They all just seemed so slow and spent most of the evening chatting by the bar. We won’t go back

Food was ok, service was very unorganised and scatty. Main course came out all over the place and sides turned up 20 minutes after main dish. Chips burnt and pizza. numerous times had to call waiters over as no one came to check at anytime during our meal if we needed anything. Expressed on several occasions service and food was not up to standard and still they decided to add a £20 tip to our bill. Was not deserved at all, but could not be bothered to dispute so reluctantly paid. Better planning and management needed. All good to be brought to the table so everyone can eat together and food cooked hot hit not burnt. Will not be going again and would not recommend

I came here with my friend last month, the service here was friendly, very good, the staff were considerate and did their jobs well, me and my friend really enjoyed what we ordered too, I love the desserts because I’m a sweet tooth. I was happy with this place and would recommend it. 🤎

When we walked in the staff were very welcoming and took us straight to a table, showed us the special board and gave us menus. They then came back quite quickly to take a drinks order and then we received our drinks quickly. The food was amazing. Worth every penny. All fresh homemade dishes

We went for a birthday and I have to say the food was ok, it wasn't anything to sing about and it felt incredibly rushed, didn't feel very welcomed. I understand it was a party and they where busy but I still felt it could have been dealt with better.

We had a lovely family meal at Vesuvio last night. Everyone got something they really enjoyed to eat, the staff were great - kind, attentive and undestanding of our needs. The food was served quickly and all for a very acceptable price. This was our second visit but will not be our last.

Excellent Italian in the heart of Whittlesey. It's got a well-priced, varied menu - including a lunch deal menu with plenty to choose from on it. The service is friendly, the decor is nice (though not super memorable), the bathroom is clean, and the atmosphere has a good vibe. Most importantly, the food is really nice - the callamari and garlic bread were pretty good (nothing special), but the spaghetti bollognese and the chicken/mushroom main dish were both excellent (most pictured). If you're in the area, this place is well worth a visit.

I popped in to the restaurant to see what all the fuss about Choquito was. The service was excellent. The atmosphere was good. I liked the straw hats at the table. A nice touch indeed. The bar counter was good. Ordered a starter portion of tacos, a spare ribs and a quessedilla. I want blown away with the quality of the food. It was good but not really something to go back in for again. Sher, of you like Mexican food, this might be your go to spot. But as a person who goes to a restaurant primarily for the food and doesn't really care about the ambience and atmosphere, this didn't feel like it deserved a second visit. The location is good, plenty of parking on site and the prices reflect this as well. Quality 3/5 Quantity 3/5 Service and staff 5/5 Would I visit again? Probably not.

The experience was lovely, the meals were delicious and customer service is quite good as well. Valentino and Katie were really good. My 2 stars is really for the customer service now, not the food, unfortunately. This is a no, no. Hair in my wife's meal, long hair it was you know, after over £50 meal, disgusting. See the first picture! That really put me off. It should never happen at this day and age guys. Unfortunately, we discovered this at home as we are finishing one of the takeaway burritos.

I am giving a 2 star in consideration of the service, which overall was great (thank you Valentino & Katie). The starters were spot on, as was the dessert (I'd have wanted the lava cake a little warmer to complement the ice cream but it still tasted good) Hubby and I both had burritos. We asked for a takeaway box to take home our unfinished tortilla wraps. On getting home and proceeding to finish my burrito off, I took a bite and sighted a strand of hair deeply rooted in the filling!!! (picture included). With the high level of hygiene practices expected in the hospitality industry, this isn't an occurrence I expect at all. Needless to say the other half of my burrito ended up in the bin. EDIT - I sent a complaint to the company and was responded to within 12 hours. I have been assured it has been escalated to the region manager for that area and was also given a food voucher to use towards my next visit. Thanks Chiquito for responding promptly

We have had some disappointing visits to this particular Chiquitos but, to be fair, the last visit was a pleasure. Chiquitos menu is awesome and, while quite pricey, there's some great drinks options particularly the beers and mocktails. EDIT: adding a star after two more splendid visits.

Booked to come in as we couldn’t get in at our regular carvery and I think we will be regulars here from now on! Carvery was delicious, still very hot and service was excellent!

Wasn't sure what to order, but took the opportunity to have the Pan Asian cuisine instead of a basic burger, which after eating I definitely believe it wouldn't have been basic. There was 8 of us and we had a phenomenal experience, Tikka Masala, Sweet and Sour Chicken, many naans, Lamb Shank and Sirloin Steak, everything arrived beautifully hot and the most delicious flavours. It takes time for them to prepare it, but definitely worth the wait, will definitely be returning and recommending to many. Was so excited to tuck in, forgot to take a picture before. The lovely waitress we had was informative, polite and chatty, a true delight.

Me and some friends came here on Monday and we were all very pleased with our food and service! Our roast dinner was absolutely stunning, meat was moist and tasty, roast potatoes were banging, veg was spot on! Dessert was mouth watering, our host Abbie was a lovely woman with a bubbly personality and the manager was kind and very helpful. You can tell a lot of care goes into this place! Will definitely be coming again!

We came here for a birthday celebration. Not been since it changed to Tap & Grill. Food was very good, generous portions, and lots of choice across different cuisines. And the team were very friendly and welcoming. Definitely be coming back!

Been here twice and it's always very good. The katsu chicken curry is delicious as is the burger and the fish and chips. Decent selection of drinks. The location is great as it's not very far from my place and close to my friends. We'll be coming here pretty often.

Had the carvery and it was unreal! Bearing in mind it was Sunday at 2pm it was amazing. Service was really nice and the staff were all lovely and welcoming!

Fabulous meal as always. Staff are always so friendly, polite and attentive. Nothing is ever too much trouble. Mo was our server today and is a credit to the place. Always had a good meal here and portions are very generous. This visit was a birthday visit. And the birthday music and staff coming over with cake and candles is a nice touch. Would certainly recommend.

Helpful staff and there's plenty to like about the menu. The Dirty Dog hotdog is a great addition to the menu particularly when combined with Cajun Cheese Fries. The breakfasts are hard to beat.

I had lunch at Prezzo on Cowgate in Peterborough UK today and unfortunately, my experience was rather underwhelming. I ordered the crispy fried mozzarella, chicken Milanese burger and Tuscan beef and mash. The food itself was average. The chicken hamburger didn't particularly stand out in terms of flavour or quality, and the Tuscan beef was similarly unremarkable. While there wasn't anything particularly wrong with the food, it certainly wasn't memorable or worth raving about On the positive side, the staff were friendly. They were polite and welcoming, which was appreciated. However, the service was noticeably slow, especially considering the restaurant was quite quiet during my lunchtime visit. This made the wait for our food feel longer than it should have been. The atmosphere was as expected for a quiet lunchtime. It wasn't particularly lively, but it was clean and the decor was standard for a chain restaurant. Ultimately, I didn't feel that my lunch offered good value for money. For the price paid, I expected a higher standard of food and more efficient service. Overall, I would rate my experience at Prezzo on Cowgate today a 2 out of 5 stars. While the staff were pleasant, the average food and slow service, especially in a quiet restaurant, left much to be desired. I'm unlikely to rush back for lunch based on this experience.

I've never been here before. So was a first. I have to say this was the best food I've ever tasted in my life. The flavours were amazing. Good size portion. The staff were very polite and friendly. Just an outstanding 10 out of 10 from me. I will recommend them to all my friends and family. I will also definitely be returning.

A really great atmosphere and the food was amazing! All of the staff were lovely and friendly and very attentive. Our server, Monika, was great throughout and made us feel super welcome. Will definitely be back soon. The rewards system is free to use and we were able to get a free dessert from signing up. Also love that they had Peterborough specials that are exclusive to this prezzo.

I was bought a buyagift voucher which I chose to use at Prezzo Peterborough. We had a set menu which, while much smaller than the standard menu, had great options! Started with the deep fried Mozzarella, the cheese pull was like something out of a cartoon. Delicious! Main was creamy chicken and panceta rigatoni and it was a decent portion with loads of flavour. Pudding was a chocolate fudge cake which was light but decadent. My partner was pleased to see a GF and Vegan pizza on the menu which ticked the dietary requirements box for him! Super quick service, friendly staff and nice atmosphere. Will go back

Went on a Saturday afternoon about 3pm. Food was good as always. However, we waited about 40 minutes for the food to arrive. Apart from that it was very enjoyable.

My wife and I needed to eat lunch and spend a little more time in Peterborough before going on to Norwich. It was a nice eatery. Stone cooked Tuscana pizza tasted very nice and generous on meat. The prices were good 6 pounds for pizza and chips. My wife had the pasta arrabbiata and it was nice and she also had the calamari and again nicely cooked. Service was quick and we enjoyed the food. Reasonably priced.

Great food, large portions at reasonable prices. Staff are very friendly and great atmosphere with decent music being played. We went on a Monday evening and it was not full but a constant stream of customers, no waiting and did not book, wife enjoyed the buy one get one free cocktail!!

First time visiting and we will be back... the most freshly made pizza it was delicious and the home made tiramisu was the best I've ever tasted. Joanna was our waitress she was so professional polite and great customer service. Highly recommend 👌

Exceptionally friendly staff. Excellent pizza. Ignore the sad-sacks moaning in the reviews. It's is genuinely good, wood-fired pizza. Oh, and the rock 'n' roll inspired decor is fun to look at. Edit: Now 8 months later and we've been back to Peterborough and decided to drop in for their lunch special. Excellent value. The pizza is consistently amazing. The staff is attentive but not intrusive. Another full 5 star visit.

Omg what a place. We had just left another big pizza restaurant chain as their food and service was terrible. We were met by a very smiley and cheerful Claudia who asked us if we had booked as they were really busy. When we explained what had happened at the other place we were shown to a table and she said she would look after us and as it was my birthday there may be a surprise later. We were shown the menu which had a good choice on it. The only downside, which doesn't spoil anything, is the lack of choice of beers. The pizza was brought to us with a very cheerful smile and hope you enjoy. Claudia then came back to check everything was ok. When we had finished our food the lights were slightly dimmed then happy birthday was played we were then given an ice cream with a fountain sparkler and 2 lemonchello drinks. 😊😊. The atmosphere here is fantastic and you could imagine you were abroad and not in Peterborough. Thank you for saving our night out. Highly recommended for fantastic service, food and good music.

The Blue Bell is the BEST pub around the vicinity. The food, service and atmosphere is splendid. It was a lunch stop for us on our way to Gatwick from Bourne and we didn’t have a booking but they seated us and were very accommodating. They found some Tabasco for me to go with their incomparable shoestring fries. We had the chicken BLT and the Cheesy Chilli Sausage sandwich. It was just the best. Love love love.

Finally the pub I’ve been looking for! Been here twice recently for a roast dinner and in my opinion the best around. Amazing service, staff couldn’t be any nicer or more efficient. Lovely wine in nice glasses, cozy and warming atmosphere. Looking forward to returning again and again.

We came last night as a group of 4pm. It was quite busy, but the service did not disappoint. The staff were very friendly and constantly asking if we needed any more drinks/if everything was okay with our food. I had the tempura prawns as a starter, which had lots of flavour. The batter wasn’t greasy which was great. We then shared the quarter duck between the 4 of us, which was plenty. I had the crispy chilli beef, it wasn’t too crispy and overdone, it tasted fresh as sometimes this isn’t the case when you get it from a takeaway. The meal (and drinks as we had 3 rounds of alcoholic drinks each) cost us £215, which for 3 courses and the drinks in a nice restaurant is very reasonable! I’ve been to many upper end chain restaurants and paid more and both the service and food haven’t been as nice! Will be coming back for sure, it’s all about supporting local business in this climate so I would recommend highly.

Have few take away from there and was really disappointed with the taste. Order a Singapore curry and it tastes like Korma and the next day I ordered salmon with sake and one piece salmon for £17.60, not sure it’s even enough to share between two. Was really disappointed they charged you full price as sitting down even though it was a take away and the amount you get was also reduced. Definitely not worth the price if you’re ordering as takeaway. I will aspect some authentic tastes from Asia but it seems like it is definitely only geared for UK tastebud.

When looking up restaurants in Peterborough, immediately came across East and am very happy we ate here today, - Sunday Mother's Day buffet, on a boat with nice views of the River Nene and swans! 🍴 Even though the buffet didn't have perhaps as many options as I had expected, the food was tasty and not just Thai but also some Chinese / Korean / Malaysian / Singaporean influences. The sea bass was really tasty, loved the Thai green curry and Malaysian satay as well Friendly staff and good vibe, could tell that many of the diners were locals and probably repeat customers which is always a good sign!!

Biggest disappointment of the year. This restaurant’s food quality does not match its price point at all. The duck was flavorless, small portion too. The egg fried rice had no flavor at all; did they forget to season it? This restaurant was definitely a ‘western’ adjusted Asian restaurant. Biggest red flag was when we walked in and not a single Asian person was in sight; neither the staff nor any guest. 🚩 Service was bad as well; we stood at the entrance waiting to get a seat while not a single worker even acknowledged our presence. After ASKING to be seated we were then told to wait for at least 5-10min…when the restaurant was half-empty with plenty of open seats. Do NOT go here if you’d like an authentic Asian experience.

Poor quality experience. I ordered stir fried chicken with chilli's and basil. I eat this at least every other week when I am away working all around the UK. This version was minced chicken, it was dry and bland. I sent it back only to get very nonchalant service thereafter. To be honest none of the staff smiled from the get go. Not an authentic experience, I would not go back and I do not recommend. Perhaps the fact that this restaurant appears to "specialise" in several different types of cuisine is where they are going wrong. What I ate was absolutely not authentically Thai.

East is an amazing place for Oriental styles of cuisine. This place is an absolute gem 💎 cannot stress enough. The ambience and portion sizes are great. The food will just make you go wow!!. The homemade coconut icecream is the best I've ever eaten. The service is perfect they give you time and space but at the same time very attentive. Be (don't know if I got her name spelling right) is a standout. A must visit place while in Peterborough. Good food lovely location and very good service.

Very good food and superb service, varied menu with some very different options to the usual Indian restaurant offerings. Recommend the goat curry. Very pleasant, efficient, helpful, courteous warm and friendly staff. Seamless service. Very high standard but also pricey.

We attended an Elvis Presley evening. Great entertainment and well worth going to. There's another on the 7th December. The curries are excellent at the GL and you can take home the food that you can't consume. Attentive, friendly service. We'll be going back again.

A nice enough evening, somewhat spoiled by leaving the restaurant to glares from others waiting for our table… If we had been slow in any regard I would have felt badly, but the only thing that was slow was the service. If they want to book tight schedules, then they should maybe make sure they turn around orders more quickly! The food was good, the service was ok, nothing special, and they were cheeky enough to hurry us at the end… Average prices - apparently recently increased. Atmosphere was a bit crowded, and loud, but nice enough.

This is the best Indian food I’ve ever had, delicious, really tasty and most importantly gluten free and coeliac safe!! Staff was super polite and friendly, highly reccomend!!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely brilliant night at Gurkha Lounge Hampton! The food here is just outstanding – every dish was full of flavour, beautifully cooked and presented with real care. You can tell the team take pride in what they do. The staff were so welcoming and attentive, nothing was too much trouble. We came for the Elvis tribute night and what a bonus – Sal Bashir was fantastic, full of energy and really brought the room to life. But even without the entertainment, Gurkha Lounge is worth visiting for the food alone – genuinely some of the best we’ve had. Thank you to Kris and all the team for such a great evening. Can’t wait to come back – highly recommend!

We drove an hour from Birmingham to try Gurkha Lounge, and it was so worth it! We had the goat curry and it was absolutely amazing – tender, full of flavour, and the spices were perfectly balanced. The whole meal was fresh and delicious. The atmosphere was cosy and welcoming, and the staff were brilliant. A special mention to Ayush – so young but incredibly well-mannered, polite and professional. Really impressed! Definitely worth the drive, and we’ll be back again!

A lovely pub located in a beautiful village with lots of country walks, but... the biggest let-down was the plastic flowers on the tables: how old-fashioned and totally off-putting! It's better nothing than that! The other one was strange "soupy" side to the great filet of sea trout.... I had to "fish-out" the tiniest pieces of potatoes out of the source - a very odd presentation of what could be a great meal. Otherwise, it's centrally located, the staff are friendly and efficient. See you all next time 👌

Staff are exceptional. The food is lovely. But it's not a 'special meal out' kind of place. It desperately needs a deep clean and a makeover. I would say the food is overpriced for the decor of the venue - which sounds ridiculous, but when you're spending £100 or so for a special meal out you don't want to see dead wasps decorating the windowsill, grotty bench cushions, canteen cutlery and toilets that smell of wee. Desperately hope this place gets the glow-up it deserves.

The first meal I had was excellent, as shown in photographs. Staff and location are excellent. I came back for the Vegan Sunday dinner option. Bland slop with zero texture. The last thing I would ever have expected from here. I would have been a very regular customer if not for this. Such a shame. I like to pay for quality. The favourite meal of my every single week was an unexpected failure. I love my food. Such a shame. All I can say is that it's not vegan friendly but otherwise beautiful in every way.

Fabulous food, beautifully presented. Staff friendly and helpful. The menu is really interesting and marks the GF/V/VG options. It is a modest range of dishes but they have tried to cover some staple favourites with interesting variations. It is gourmet food with the focus on flavours and modest portions. Ample for me but those with a large appetite would probably want to order a couple of sides. The central part of this place is the bar with seating at the back and around the old whitewash walls inside. Lovely setting and spot for a pint or some fancy food.

Service and food was fantastic! Good selection of drinks and menu. The beef on the sunday roast was cooked lovely and rare with a great vegetable selection and huge yorkshire pudding. My sea bass had so much amazing flavour and the ingredient pairing was stunning! Followed it up with poached pear, caramelized pecan nuts and ice cream. It was some of the best food I have had in a very long time! Looking forward to returning.

I based this review on what I heard from the whole group. There is a large range of beers on tap. A good range of quality spirits also available. Orders for food are placed at the bar and paid for at that time. There is an afternoon menu which is smaller but cheaper and a main menu. My wife and I eat from the main menu. Service was good and most meals came out together. Which meant we had our starter and main meal come out at the same time. I found that strange? If we had been a couple I would ask for them to come out separately. We all agreed the food was hot fresh and well presented.

One of the best places for Thai food in the country. Service is always outstanding and the food is consistently fantastic. Pork belly, crispy prawns, stir-fried noodles, and basil rice are always highlights.

A lovely pub in Peterborough centre 5 mins walk from the station. The people running the pub were lovely, If you are into Ale then, you probably like Oakham Ales, they are hard to find on draft and this pub is well kept. I'll be back and I'd reccomend it!

Amazing Thai food!!! Set menu for four with portions that are seriously generous. Service is warm, friendly and attentive. Aziza was our host and the most awesome one imaginable. Food came quickly and far more than we could eat in one sitting. I would highly recommend this for families and friends who want a great experience in relaxing surroundings.

Heard alot about this place. I am very particular about foods especially eating out. Decided to try Brewery Tap with couple of friends. I like the cosy environment. I think it is important besides good food. I need to try other dishes before I can give a more accurate feedback.

Didn't know what to expect walking in, but I had a very pleasant evening to myself. Food was flavourful and well priced, good selection of popular and local beers, and the staff were lovely, in particular Diane who was very friendly, bubbly, and generally had a welcoming presence that was infectious. Highly recommend if you're passing through Peterborough and looking for a place to dine/ have a pint or two.

Had a family meal here, great service from Aziza we all thought she was a star! Warm, welcoming and positive. The food wasn't bad either.

Came here for an event and the place is nice overall. Soon as you walk in on left is a bar has a nice array of drinks. Seating options to your left and right. Overall the food was tasty. Favorite from what we had was the palak gosht and cauliflower. The appetizers were good, just wasn't a fan of the egg rolls. The only complaint I have is the time it took for the food to be served and between appetizers and meal. Other than that I would definitely come back and try the place out again. I def saw what some of the previous reviews said about service. Some people were not as pleasant as others. The pakora were good. We enjoyed the event and food. Place was fairly busy for Sunday lunch hour.

Chose this restaurant purely based on accessibility and easy parking but have to say, the food has to be up there with some of the best Indian restaurant meals. Service was great and accommodating. Good to see that this place is still around despite many other eateries coming and going. Highly recommended!!

Owner was very rude so I had to give one star for service All other staff were very kind and helpful I asked the owner when will the food be ready he said "we'll bring it out when it's ready." I asked him second time when will the food be ready can you give me a number of minutes he said " I'm not the chef I don't control when the food comes out." We had a truly wonderful evening at The Bombay Brasserie. It was my first visit, having heard so much from my partner, who’s dined here more than 30 times and it absolutely lived up to the high expectations. We visited as a family of five: myself, my partner, and our three children (aged 10, 7 and 7). From the moment we arrived, the service was exceptional. Our waiter, Mark, was genuinely engaging, warm, attentive, and fantastic with the children, which made all the difference. Rony Choudhury, the owner, made a point to come over personally and warmly welcomed us. He even apologised for not being able to accommodate us two nights previous, an incredibly thoughtful gesture that really stood out. My partner remarked that this level of attentiveness went above and beyond anything he’d experienced there before. The food was excellent. I started with a crisp, flavourful onion bhaji, followed by a beautifully spiced chicken tikka masala. My partner had the shish kebab to start and a rich, perfectly balanced lamb jalfrezi. The children shared some garlic chicken, and we enjoyed a selection of freshly baked naan breads alongside. The evening was a perfect blend of atmosphere, service, and outstanding food. It was a pleasure from start to finish, and we’re already looking forward to returning. A true gem.

With a second attempt on the day - we managed to get a table for 2. First time we called half an hour before we wanted to try this restaurant, with no surprise now it was all fully booked. Half year later we called early morning and there was a free table. Heard rumours how good and how tasty the food is at Cherry Tree. And I can’t recommend this places enough. The service was amazing - you walk in a little waiting area, they offer you a drink then introduce you to the menu and then you order. Once your drink is finished they take you to your table and food comes quite quickly. They come and check if you’re happy with everything and you don’t have to wait between courses, pretty much as soon as you are finished they come and offer you your next meal. We took our time and enjoyed every second of it and we spent nearly 2 hours in this lovely restaurant. Food 10/10 Service 10/10 Atmosphere 10/10 Definitely coming back! Thank you team Cherry Tree 🙏

Although there were no complaints about the food we were able to eat, the restaurant's ability to cater for those with allergies was abysmal (see further comments)! Some staff training wouldn't go amiss either. Though polite and doing their best to help it seemed the waiting staff had no concept of what food intolerances mean. And as for asking for a glass of port with the cheese, the poor waitress had no clue what port is - "is it beer?"!! Scruffy photocopied sheets of some sort of list were presented to us before a check was made and a port list appeared. We will not be returning any time soon, which is a shame because on the two previous occasions my partner and I have been, everything was ok.

20 out of 10. This quaint, beautiful, cosy and warm food public house is absolutely amazing. The food is of a quality well presented Fantastic standard. This business deserves to be in business!!! The staff are well presented and friendly and the place is clean and very warm. I think this is the best place we have eaten in a long long time!! and my husband and I go out alot to eat. I have to say a big thank you and well done keep up the excellent work. This is a must to go to and eat, if you don't try this place there is something wrong with you 🤣😀x

The Cherry House is a lovely traditional pub/restaurant with wonderful thatched roof. We visited the Cherry House in December and were impressed with the fantastic menu. The tables were all set with festive hats and crackers and the menu was suitably festive too. Starters, main course and deserts were all beautifully presented and very tasty.

My wife surprised me for my birthday meal at the Cherry House from the moment we walk in we was greeted and made welcome and the service was amazing the food was amazing and most of all the presentation was superb Thank you all

I have been here sooooo many times and only realized yesterday that I’ve never left a review! I’ve seen this place under several owners and these guys are simply the best. They create amazing food, give a warm welcome as soon as you come through the door and the pub itself is wonderful, with different areas to sit and enjoy yourself and a fab beer garden for the summer. There are specials on the boards for mains and desserts, or you can choose from some classics off the menu. Yesterday I had the salted chilli shredded chicken special, with vegetable sacks and egg fried rice and it was lush! For pudding I had chocolate orange tart…. Beaut! My Dad had chops off the specials and then his favourite Chocolate brownie… also my son’s favourite too - along with good old ham, egg and chips! 😊 Can’t praise these guys enough for the wonderful job they’ve done with the pub. Will be coming here for a very long time when I am in the Peterborough area… just wish I could pick the place up and take it back with me to Leicester! Keep up the good work and will see you again soon!

We really enjoyed our Sunday lunch here. The food was absolutely delicious, all freshly cooked and the portions were very generous. We also had desserts after our meal - oh my, simply amazing! All the staff were super friendly, fantastic and efficient service. The play ground in the garden was an added bonus - certainly kept our little one entertained. Perfect spot for a family meal out. We will definitely be back soon.

When we arrived it was very busy. Staff very friendly and courteous. Good selection of guest ales. We had to wait about 35 to 40 minutes for the food but this was explained before we put our order in due to a lot of people turning up around the same time. Very good food and great selection for various tastes and appetites. They are also flexible enough to smaller meals for a reduced price if a full sized meal is too much. Would I go back 100%.

We have been for the last two weeks we didn’t book we just walked in and managed to get a table in the bar. The food is gorgeous home-cooked generous portions and just delicious excellent value for money. You can’t fault it. It’s a new favourite place.

We tried The Admiral Well on the recommendation of friends. I review this experience in relation to those recommendations and my expectations of pub food. ACCESSIBILITY ♿ being disabled but not wheelchair bound, I was able to get in OK. I was also able to get to the toilet reasonably well. For the wheelchair bound you would enter the building over one small step, turn immediately left through another door into the dining room, not too much movability inside. I am not aware of Accessible toilets, and the route to the toilets would I think 🤔 be tight in places for those in Wheelchair's. The dining room was comfortably intimate, with soft music playing. The chairs tightly padded reaching the middle of my back, comfortable. Tables as you would expect in a pub. The service was polite, and we were not kept waiting too long for our meal. The soft drinks were of standard. As the recommendations of friends was high, our expectations were perhaps unfairly high, and maybe with a closer inspection of the menu I may have chosen differently. However I must speak honestly of my own experience of the meal. My wife and I both choose Beef Chilli with rice, and a Garlic roll shared. Sadly for us the roll was the highpoint of this main course. The rice didn't seem right for this dish, it would we felt been more suitable with a curry. The Chilli it's self was a little hot which seemed to negate the flavour. There was however plenty of it. The Desert chosen by my wife was a caramel cheese cake that seemed to contain much chocolate, had my wife known this, she would not have picked it but the ice cream with it she did enjoy. I chose a Caramel Apple pie with Custard It was a little bland for my taste. I am sure from the recommendations I have heard for The Admiral Wells, it would suit many tastes, but not mine nor my wife's on this occasion.

Lovely family run local pub serving home cooked food. We used the Admiral Wells for a special birthday meal for my Dad. Food was well cooked and plentiful. Everyone enjoyed their meals. We used their small function room, great addition for us all to sit together. They are very well catered for Coeliacs too.

We just had an absolutely delicious meal. We both ordered bread and houmous to start. Then the turkish kitchen special. It was excellent. The service was also extremely good. The only thing I would say, is the toilets could do with deep clean. But overall, really impressed.

Occasion was my nephew's wedding anniversary and I haven't made any mistake by choosing this place. It was a fabulous choice to be honest. Food was delicious we were in group of 25 and I can say their order was delivered without any mistake. We all ordered different drinks, but it was spot on. Food was perfectly cooked for our jumbo platter. I would like to mention the chops which was having that perfect crisp on top which is really hard to get. Rest of the meat was also perfectly cooked not very raw neither was it overcooked, perfect blend. Drinks on the other hand was also worth sipping. No complaints at all. What a staff, very professional and they were so sporty. 1st there was birthday celebration on table next to us, 2nd celebration was on our table for anniversary and it was memorable and 3rd was again a birthday celebration it was closing time but the energy of staff was mind blowing they participated equally in all the celebrations. I will rate them all 10/10. Love the spirit of staff like this. Ambience was so soothing you can indulge in the environment. Perfect lights, perfect hygiene and well set colour combination. The area of restaurant was not massive but it was laid in very thoughtful way. I would like to mention the music here which was the heart of my stay there. So energetic that rhythm was which fill the energy in all of us all 3 times it was played. I would like to know what that music was. My experience here was so wonderful that I will recommend everyone that if you are in Peterborough then this is a must visit.

Turkish kitchen were amazing! I booked here for over 40 people as I noted there was a large central table and they did amazingly to cater for EVERYONE without a hitch. Staff were attentive and asked questions as I provided a list of entree and main orders when I arrived, and food came out in pretty good time given the huge amount of food they needed to prepare. Everything was cooked to perfection, and there was all round satisfaction. Thank you Turkish Kitchen! We will be back next year

Came across this restaurant, while heading to a Paul Smith Comedy show, the food was amazing the service was just as good. The flavours were amazing, we had the share plate and was well and truly enough for two people.

Ordered jumbo plater, the ribs wasn't like they should be, had only fats and nothing to enjoy, spend 70£ for it. Its bearly eatable.😡😡😡😡 Last time ordered from them was same thing. I attached pictures for people who is ordering online same as me.

Did a big order for a family birthday party. I didn't know there was a way to order online or an app so I rang through and made the order. We paid by cash. When we started working out how much people owed using the menu on Google (says updated less than a day ago), we found we'd paid nearly £20 more. Then I found out that I could have got an even bigger discount doing it online too! I would have thought it would have been the opposite doing it over the phone and paying cash too. I rang back the next day and was told the menu prices are not online. I am so annoyed I didn't order through the app or was advised to to get it cheaper. The food was great but it did put a dampener on things and won't be ordering again.

Ordered online through just eat. Order arrived incorrect with items missing. Food was like warm and when we called to report the missing items the call went to voicemail twice before finally getting through to somebody. Gentleman was apologetic and said they would send the missing items out straight away. An hour has passed, no items have turned up and the rest of the food has gone cold. Will not be ordering from here again after this, this isn’t the first time we have had missing items either.

This was a delivery order done via Just eat. I have to say I was very disappointed with the food served. The order- 1 naan, 1Chicken Mugalai, 1 Bhindi bharta, 1 egg fried rice, 1special fried rice. The order was delivered quickly and on time. The portions seem generous. The special fried rice was double the price of the egg fried rice. Keeping this in mind, when I opened the rices boxes, I was bitterly disappointed to see that the only difference was the addition of a few green peas. Now I do not know about anybody else, but in my head that is not a special fried rice. Even if it is, it does in no way warrant charging double. Have a look at the pictures for comparison. They tasted very much the same too. The Naan felt like it was a frozen naan heated up. It did not feel like a freshly made one. The chicken Mugalai was average at best. My choice of dish maybe was wrong, but there was no wow factor for the food. The bhindi bharta side dish was similar too. Nothing special. The poppadoms (complimentary) appeared to be fried in old oil. I would honestly refuse these the next time I visit. Overall it left a bitter disappointment of having ordered from here. I suppose the disappointment was more the fact that the place seemed to be rated highly . Inspite of this, I will give the benefit of doubt to the restaurant and give full stars on atmosphere and service. I will also visit the place someday and update this review if it warrants it.

Top quality indian cuisine. Excellent friendly service

Perfect visit, it was late and quiet when I arrived but the staff were more than happy to open the restaurant back up for me, seating me in the best spot and being incredibly attentive to my needs. As you can see from the photo, the food was gorgeous, really do recommend!

Top class. Food was absolutely wondrous and service was great - we were a large group but everything felt so well co-ordinated and dishes came out pretty much all at the same time. Lovely people, lovely food - and the stilton twists on some of the dishes are just brilliant.

Bash and the team catered for our party of 30 people - the food was incredible, and the guests thought it was the best Indian that they had ever had!! Highly recommend this amazing restaurant in Stilton. They even came and set it all up and kept the food warm.

Our car broke down about 15 minutes away from this amazing restaurant and we thought it would be a nice place to get dinner: we chose correctly! We ordered from our car and picked it up on foot and I immediately got a great sense of atmosphere and friendliness when i walked in. The toilets were very clean and the man at the front desk was very friendly, polite and very happy. The lamb korma was one of the best curries I have ever had and the naan bread was delicious. The other members of my party had the veggie balti (which was apparently tasty) and the grill selection (which was also delicious!) The portions were perfectly sized and very filling so overall, an amazing indian place in the hometown of stilton cheese!

A biryani has a vegetable curry, don't call it a biryani if you don't also have a vegetable curry...I will not be ordering from here again.£12 for a dry amount of rice and meat is NOT a biryani. I didn't know the cost of living has got so bad...

Dropped into Angel Spice Wednesday night for dinner with entertainment from SAL. Food and the show, top drawer as always. Great atmosphere and service from Bash & the team, highly recommend.

Had a fantastic stay. Beautiful village with an equally beautiful thatched pub. Staff really helpful. Food was another level - great quality, wonderfully cooked, quantities just right. Can’t recommend it highly enough.

Best chunky chips. Found the Crown Inn on Google maps trying to avoid the heavy traffic on the A1 South Peterborough services. The lamb kofte on flatbread was especially nice. The coriander added to the salad was very refreshing but a tiny slice of fresh chilli was very hot, so watch out and keep a drink handy if you eat it. Service was very good, but it was worth waiting for, and the beer was good. The owner was very friendly and had time to inform us of the history of the pub. Lovely village setting away from the A1 and the queues of the Peterborough services. Would recommend if you need a tranquil break from the A1 to recharge from the bad drivers.

A 5 star experience from start to end. Stayed here as a stopover for a couple of nights and I could not fault the service, every whim was catered to. Friendly and attentive staff and the food was out of this world! I will definitely return again if I get the chance.

I stayed there yet a couple of years ago as a halfway point between my home and my friends I was visiting in Cambria and I absolutely loved it. I stayed overnight and the room was absolutely wonderful. I have a fairly good experience of five star hotels in many places in the world and this was up there amongst them Absolutely superb. I had fish and chips for supper at a table outside the bar along with a couple of pints of bitter and the next day I had breakfast and it was lovely. I would love to go back there unfortunately for health reasons I had to give up my driving license so it’s unlikely I will but I wouldn’t hesitate to spent a few nights there if I could Ofnote I sat at a picnic table eating my supper alone and some of the other customers chatted to me and it struck me as a very friendly village

Sat outside in the patio area, was not that clean, tables were filthy. Bar maid polite, but not great at pulling a pint. Top prices. Nice venue. Will not return though.

We went for an anniversary dinner after reading a few Google reviews. I try to give people a truthful review about a venue. Unfortunately after eating and paying for dry tasteless food I feel let down by there reviews. There are other Chinese restaurants I should have gone back to and avoided this one.

When we arrived we were told it was a set menu evening only and we thought “bummer”. Set menu was great, for once a restaurant actually served all the “good” bits in it. From the ribs to sweet and sour chicken to bean sauce beef to crispy duck. The set menu had it all. Everything was fresh, flavours were very nice. Some things on greasy side but well within expectations and definitely not over the top. The price was very reasonable too. Not sure when we will be back in Peterborough but when we will, we will come back to The Grain Barge for sure. A+

This was an excellent choice for dinner. Very tasty food and lovely views over the River Nene to enjoy whilst you eat. Excellent, friendly service too and one of a only few Chinese restaurants I've been too where we were actually encouraged to take our time and enjoy our meal rather than being rushed out the door. This restaurant has been here in Peterborough on the river nene for as long as I can remember, staff are very caring towards there customers, food is cooked to perfection and comes out piping hot... we shall definitely be going back soon.

Absolutely spot on, nice setting (if not a little rustic). Eight of us went for the set menu and we couldn't fault a dish. Crispy where it should be crispy, succulent where it should tender and fantastic value at 16.50 a head.

We were recently invited by colleagues to have dinner here and ordered two Tangier Meat Platters. The atmosphere was very pleasant and stylish, making it a nice spot for after-work chats. The staff were attentive and friendly, and the portion sizes were generous. However, my wife and I both felt that the meats were over-marinated and overcooked. They tasted quite salty and a bit dry to us.

Great food, even better service. We were well looked after and the staff were extremely polite to us throughout the meal. Highly recommend

Fantastic experience at Katana! We visited Katana Peterborough for Mother’s Day and had an amazing time from start to finish. The lady of the day was treated to a complimentary glass of Prosecco – such a lovely touch that made the occasion feel extra special. The hibachi experience was brilliant, with our chef Ace putting on a fantastic show while cooking – fun, engaging, and absolutely delicious. The whole table loved it! A special shoutout to Sarah at the bar – she was friendly, professional, and a true asset to the team. Her service and energy really stood out and made us feel so welcome. The venue itself is stunning – from the cherry blossom decor to the stylish seating and vibrant atmosphere. We’ll definitely be back soon. Highly recommend for celebrations or just a memorable night out with great food and entertainment!

A wonderful meal, with exceptional service! Went above and beyond and overheard it was my birthday and produced a birthday slice of cheesecake!! Delicious sushi and one of the tastiest massaman curries I have had! Vikram was a wonderful server, so friendly, helpful and warm. Really appreciated his drinks recommendations too !

We visited today for my daughters 18th birthday treat, it was amazing. We were seated quickly in our choice of seats. We ordered from the al a carte menu, the food was sooo good, we didn't want to be full 🙈 everything was so fresh and full of flavour. The drinks were very tasty too. Our waiter Vikram was brilliant, very attentive and helpful, he even surprised my daughter with ice cream with a candle 🥰 It was a bit pricey but that was because we wanted to try everything 😅 We will definitely be visiting again soon

Katana Restaurant have a very special space in our hearts. We had our first date there. In December we decided to get married and we couldn't imagine having our wedding reception anywhere else. Saran Raj the Director of Operations was very professional, he helped us book the room and sort the menu. We had a few dietary issues, which he delt with. He was at our disposal all the time and ensured everything met our requirements. One challenge; to find someone to decorate the room at such short notice and over the Christmas period too. He found someone who was just perfect for us and she created a magic room, amazing as she had just two hours to decorate it. On our big day everything was sorted for us, we didn't have to do anything or worry as everything was taken care off. The staff were very happy and friendly to our guests and accommodated their every wish. Which made our day even more special. The room looked magical, the food was perfect. We consider Katana as part of our family and every anniversary will be celebrating there. Thanks Saran and your team. See you soon.

I had to delete my previous review (5 stars) and write a new one because I would like to know why the whole vegan menu was changed. My favourite pizza was American hot and they got rid of it and left like 3 vegan pizzas on the menu. Had to look at my bfs American hot pizza with jealousy lol. I used to love coming to American Express but I won’t be returning. We tried asking the server why they got rid of all the vegan pizzas but she didn’t understand what we were talking about, bless her. I tried the new vegan mezze pizza and it was alright but the aubergine was a bit mushy and it was £17. The next day I ordered a vegan pizza from domino’s for £12 which was way better. It looks like American Express is going bankrupt, the prices went up and the menu is lacking now. Please fire whoever made a decision to get rid of all the vegan pizzas that had vegan pepperoni on them. Absolutely ridiculous

Impeccable service. Male was efficient, precise, and remarkably aware of timing the kind of attention to detail you rarely encounter. Donna, the manager, maintained a composed presence and handled everything with quiet confidence. The atmosphere ran smoothly, almost effortlessly, which tells me everything behind the scenes was executed with discipline. I appreciated that.
