It is situated by a tributary of the River Metauro, allowing the dukes to arrive by boat after long weeks at work. Visitors can access it with the same ticket used for visiting the church of the dead.

(Translated by Google) A little hidden gem. I recommend a visit and taking some time to admire the historical beauty of the collection of printed books, the edition of the Divine Comedy, and the collection of paintings and sketches. The view of the tower is also wonderful. All for the truly modest price of €5. Highly recommended! (Original) Un piccolo gioiello nascosto. The Church of the Dead, also known as Chiesa dei Morti, is a small chapel in Urbania, Italy, dating back to 1380. It has gained worldwide fame for its eerie display of 18 perfectly preserved mummies arranged in a semicircle inside special glass cases. The macabre yet intriguing scene inside the Gothic-style crypt has captivated visitors for generations.
Well worth the minimal cost to hear the story of the church of the dead. Guide speaks good English as well as other languages. Highly recommended.
Brian B — Google review
We were lucky to walk into the church just in time for the last guided tour of the day. The guide (a young man who obviously enjoys his job and speaks excellent English) shared the unconventional history of the church and fascinating details of each of the mummies displayed in the chapel. A very special visit indeed.

Amazing small church with small room full.of mummies and bones and skulls. Wish the tour guide spoke english, the whole tour was in italian but it was still well worth it. 3 euros to enter. Very cool place! I think it closed at 1pm, and reopened at 330 (on sunday). Other days it reopens at 4pm

Very interesting visit. You may have to wait a bit for the next tour but it was worth the five euros. The young man explained everything in very good English and he answered many of our questions.

This is a place, you must visit staying in Urbania. Incredible Guide will take you with his stories to distant times, when the rich lived happily ever after, the young died from blows to the heart, and the poor died on the streets. An experience worth every moment.

The structure can be reached from the Ducal Palace of Urbania via a path along the Metauro River, where knights and ladies once traveled upstream by boat. Later, around the mid-18th century, it became the Convent of San Giovanni Battista. Today, it houses the Civic Museum's workshops, offering courses in artistic craftsmanship and ceramics, with sections on shaping, decoration, and restoration. (Original) Il Barco Ducale di Urbania. (Translated by Google) I divide the positive things from the negative ones, so that everyone can adjust according to their own needs. Strengths: - the many attractions and the many shows; - the market outside the center (because you have to pay to enter the centre); - the car parks, located in various points of the town (some of these are free); - the hospitality of the people (organisers, actors, workers, restaurateurs...), you can breathe a nice atmosphere, both in a broad and narrow sense. Points against: - the cost of the entrance ticket, €6 for adults and children over 10 years old, which could also be accommodated, but if you then enter the historic center and find "other activities" that require a fee, for example the Befana house, you just feel taken for a ride; - the "flight" of the befana, a lot of waiting for 3 minutes on the clock and 4 (in number) sweets thrown to the many children present; - attractions, games and shows are not all worth the cost of the ticket together. We have been to other events, in other cities, organized for the Epiphany, frankly they are a cut above. My suggestion is to travel and open up your views a little, those who are used to traveling come there the first year and avoid it the following year. De gustibus is not disputandum.
Marco G — Google review
(Translated by Google) A fairly inexplicable festival... A ticket of 6 euros each is charged to access the city, which is therefore completely barricaded with highly controlled access. The "Epiphany festival" mostly consists of a handful of stalls like any other village festival (for which, however, you usually don't pay an entrance fee) where they sell overpriced food and trinkets (8 euros for a balloon), for for any free activity you obviously have to wait tens of minutes and the most interesting ones have to be paid for. It would also be nice if it were a way to liven up the center but if they force you to pay an entrance ticket that isn't too cheap it's completely inadequate. (Original) Una sagra abbastanza inspiegabile...

(Translated by Google) The origins of the church date back to the ancient Benedictine abbey of San Cristoforo del Ponte from the IX century. The building was renovated by the Abbot Commendatory Cardinal Bessarione in the second half of the 15th century: on this occasion the relics of the Saint were transferred to the cathedral, enclosed in a magnificent reliquary specially fashioned in 1472, still placed in veneration today during the patronal celebrations ( July 25). The church became the cathedral of the new diocese of Urbania, established on 18 February 1636. Subsequently, at the behest of the bishop Msgr. Deodato Baiardi, in the eighteenth century the church was renovated again in neoclassical forms based on a design by the architect Giuseppe Tosi. The façade (1870) and the new bell tower (1958) are however late: however, the ancient medieval bell tower remains on the side. Of notable historical-artistic value is the wooden Crucifix by Pietro da Rimini from 1320, and some manneristic works by Giustino Episcopi and Giorgio Picchi.

There is a bathroom, there is the possibility of eating something (in case you did not bring anything from home), and there is also the possibility of staying indoors in case of sudden rains. In the park, in addition to the games for children, there is the possibility of seeing some animals, there is a very nice mountain path, there is a puppet show for children, and many other activities. Unfortunately, it is a bit difficult to get there, and the morphology of the territory does not allow for easy parking (but not difficult either), nor an easy path for the disabled. I do not know if you can bring your pets, because I do not think I saw any during my visit. In any case, I suggest calling by phone for any information, because I can guarantee that the staff is very friendly and helpful. I renew my invitation to visit this park, especially to families with children, and to those who want to spend a quiet day in the greenery. (Translated by Google) Church of Santa Maria Nuova in Naro. Unfortunately, the interior was closed, but looking at the exterior, we think it must have a lot of history... with a beautiful gabled façade and bell gable, we must return. Keeping our promise, we returned on Sunday, September 14, 2025, and inside, restored, simple but beautiful, it certainly has a long history to tell. The last two photos are of a small statue of the Madonna in a small cave carved into a rock, immediately after the Furlo tunnel, on the right of the old Flaminia road coming from Fossombrone. It was placed there by a friend from Piobbico around 1978, when he came to work in Fano, sometimes by bicycle or on foot, to train.

The Museo di Storia dell'Agricoltura e dell'Artigianato, located in the cellars of the Doge's Palace, is a fascinating museum that showcases the tools and artifacts from the rural life of our hinterland. It offers visitors a unique opportunity to explore and learn about things from many years ago. The museum presents an interesting collection of items related to peasant life, providing insight into the history and traditions of agriculture and craftsmanship.
