Ristorante La Loggetta was the most beautiful place to start our sister trip in Cortona. It was our first dinner in town, and it set the tone for an unforgettable 10 days. The food was absolutely delicious. I had the clam vongole and octopus, which was my favorite — it had a touch of passion fruit that I would have never thought to pair with the protein, but it created the most incredible flavor. My sister had the pigeon and carpaccio, and every single dish was incredible, beautifully prepared, and full of flavor. We were also lucky enough to be seated outside facing the square, which made the evening even more special. Dining there felt like a true celebration of Italian cuisine and the magic of Cortona. The atmosphere was lively yet elegant, and the service was attentive throughout the entire meal. Given its popularity (and for good reason!), I highly recommend booking a reservation a couple of weeks in advance to secure a good table. La Loggetta was truly a wonderful dining experience — one we will always remember as the perfect start to our sister trip in Tuscany.

Good spot if you’re willing to splurge. The food was delicious but the experience was a bit pricey. They were able to provide some of the best vegetarian and gluten free (gf) food we had in Italy. Happy with treating ourselves due to the food and service provided. Make a reservation.

Beautiful restaurant in the heart of Cortona! We went here for dinner during a recent stay in Cortona and had a fantastic experience. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was charming and elegant, overlooking the beautiful city center of Cortona. We found the service to be excellent - attentive during our entire meal, while giving us the space to relax and enjoy our dinner. This is a must do for dinner during any trip to Cortona!

We visited this restaurant 6 years ago and it was absolutely amazing. I somehow posted my review to the wrong La Loggetta in Montepulciano so am reposting to the correct La Loggetta in Cortona! … The steak, gnocchi and risotto were all some of the best we had on our trip. For parents with a baby, they even had a changing table outside the bathroom! Highly recommend and hope the quality has not changed since we were there. Can't wait to visit again someday.

Learned about Cortona and this restaurant from Conan O'Brien and Jordan Schlansky. Booked a month ahead for Dec 30. Had stuffed zucchini with ricotta, wild boar ragu, all fantastic. Tiramisu takes the cake, as it's served in a plant pot and its taste is delicious. Asked for a scoop of vanilla ice cream to accompany the Tortino and they happily obliged. Also impressed with the sommelier who recommended the finest Chianti wines. Highly trained and attentive staff as expected for such a high-end establishment. The prices are not high at all, all things considered. Highly recommended

Amazing food and wines, great value for money, best location in Cortona. Very friendly staff that isn’t rushing you, nice table linen and the busy square with tourists at a entertaining distance. But the food, oh my. Generous portions and can recommend the truffle dishes. All courses showed a great attention to detail and didn’t hold back with luxurious and fresh ingredients. Ambiance is by far the best of Cortona, regal but not formal as staff is super friendly. Sommelier let’s you taste the wine they sell per glass. Wine list is extensive and gets expensive but if you don’t want to bother, the wine served by the glass was excellent. Circa 8-10% more expensive than the other restaurants in town. The views alone would warrant this extra, as the taste and details to the food served was easily twice as good as other samplings in town - who weren’t bad at all. Note we have returned and added a second batch of photos, so in reality the photos cover two lunches. Highly recommended.

This restaurant is definitely worth 5 stars. We didn't know what to expect - it has Michelin recognition but also "only" 4,5 stars on Google. The truth is that a lot of people only post reviews when they find something negative. Well, we found a lot of very positives. First of all: we were happy they take reservations and it's quite easy to make a reservation. Upon arrival, we immediately felt welcome and both men gave us personal and good service. The menu is quite extensive with options for everyone (in my opinion). We picked the Pici Carbonara and Pappardelle with Chianina meat for first course. They took a bit to make - we waited approximately 45 minutes from the moment we ordered. This was no issue for us but is worth mentioning. Both pastas were very tasty and the cook of the pasta was perfect. For second course, we took the Pork Fillet with plum sauce and the Tagliata. Absolutely yummy meat and such good quality, too. The only thing we did not really like was the amount of roasted potatoes you get for €6(!). Besides that, everything was delicious. Grazie mille and we would be happy to come back to your lovely restaurant any time.

Fun, friendly, best food ever, even better wine! What a lovely group, really nice friendly and welcoming staff. We had a wonderful time and would recommend this restaurant to everyone.

We’ve been coming here for 4 years. It’s always a treat. You’ll find traditional Tuscan dishes, but you will find daily specialties using traditional ingredients. There is an extensive (and fairly priced) wine list, and Romano is happy to make recommendations. You will need reservations. My tried and true favorites are the Storici Quadrotti and Pici all’aglione. Don’t miss the fresh cantucci either.

Where do I even begin? La Buccacia-Da Ramano was undoubtedly my favorite restaurant I went to during our time in Italy, and we enjoyed it not once, but twice during our visit because it was simply THAT GOOD! The food is incredibly delicious, and the atmosphere, along with the staff, is exceptional! I can't recommend it enough- do yourself a favor and make sure you dine here if you are in the Cortona area

Really could not recommend this place more. We had the wild boar sauce pasta with truffle and it was exquisite. The wine selection is truly great and this restaurant deserves its Michelin!

Such a lovely dinner tonight at La Bucaccia. I had the Deer which was amazing, which was only made better with the sauce. Accompanied with a Brunello wine, created a fantastic gastronomic experience. Followed by amazing blue cheese that the owners sister had curated, and a port like reserve wine - I was in heaven. As I was leaving Romano who was so kind to us on the table suggested an amazing Grappa. Just when I thought it couldn’t get any better. I would definitely come back to this restaurant in Cortona.

We went as a group, and honestly, there were so many dishes it’s hard to remember them all — but the photos speak for themselves. Every plate was a delight, beautifully prepared and full of authentic Tuscan flavor. The staff was wonderful: warm, friendly, and genuinely charming, making the whole evening feel relaxed and enjoyable. Also, they were well prepared about the dishes, which I always appreciate. Despite the elegance of the food and atmosphere, the prices are very reasonable — proof that you can eat traditional, high-quality Italian without breaking the bank. The setting adds even more magic: just up the atmospheric staircase, there’s a tiny terrace with only two tables, perfect for an intimate dinner. The rest of the dining is indoors, with a cozy, authentic vibe that feels like true Cortona. A place to taste real Tuscan tradition, enjoy excellent service, and feel right at home. Divine food, great value, and absolutely worth a visit.

Cute restaurant, the walls are filled with photos of movie stars. Our waiter was very friendly and gave good recommendations. The eggplant and rabbit appetizer was delicious and I was very happy with the ravioli and the filet with foie gras was also very good. If you’re not a fan of saffron skip the gnocchi

It can’t get any better than this! Located in the heart of Cortona but still off the beaten track, this restaurant convinced us with delicious and authentic Tuscan cuisine. The staff members were welcoming and very attentive. Although they were fully booked, we still got a table outside close to the entrance where we could have a view of the alley.

It was the start of our honeymoon and the staff prepared a lovely romantic table for us. We enjoyed all the food especially the truffle fondue and the pastas! The deserts were really interesting and inventive, we absolutely loved the tiramisu. We definitely recommend.

This is one of many locations for eating lunch or dinner in Cortona, Italy. Yet, this restaurant is one you should not miss. The location is away from but not far from tourists centers and attractions making it quiet and easy. The atmosphere is stylish, bright and well appointed with decorations inside. And, outside there are several small tables on an entrance patio. The wine list is exhaustingly long so ask for recommendations. The food is superb and I would recommend: Patate al Rosemary and Cipolla for sides then a Bistecca Fiorent (T-bone 2 lb) to split between 2 people for the main. Save room for splitting the Charlot Mascarpone. The service is attentive, polite, and knowledgeable.

I stayed in cortona for a little over a month and Dardano was one of my favorite places to eat at during my visit. I definitely ate there the most. I had the wild boar pasta and it was amazing. The atmosphere is incredible and really feels like your eating at home with the family the staff are pretty great too. I recommend this place to anyone looking for a good dinner in cortona and they are incredibly priced.

The person who served us was unpleasant and impatient, rolling her eyes whenever we asked a question. She threw the menus onto the table before we had even sat down. Very rude behavior that completely spoiled our impression of the restaurant. The food was average, and the other waiters were polite. When we visit Cortona again, we definitely won’t be coming back here.

I have been to Trattoria Dardano many times, my first was in 2011 when it was a more rustic family run eatery. Tonight however, was probably my worst dining experience in Cortona. Firstly I was served my second plate and my first plate at the same time, which meant my meat dish was cold when I was eating it. To add insult to injury, I was given the bill without asking for it, the whole experience felt rushed, the complete opposite of what a relaxing Italian meal should be. I had reserved for 19:30 and was basically made to feel like I should leave before 21:00. I have never experienced this in any place in Italy before and I am greatly saddened as Dardano was always a place that held a special segment in my heart. So disappointed.

Such a lovely restaurant. We were in the area for one week and visited on our first day. It was so good that we decided to come back on our last day. The pasta is freshly made and tasted amazing. My favourite was the ragú.

Excellent food! Great service, fast and cordial, friendly. Relaxed atmosphere. Very accommodating! Were even dog friendly to our giant breed mountain dog and found a table with a spot for him in the corner and gave us a water bowl for the dog.

We had a lovely lunch here! The staff was really sweet, service was quick and the pasta was amazing! The wine was good and so was the coffee at the end! The staff understands English so ordering was easy!

We were lucky to get a table on our first night in Cortona, recommend to book as sadly on our last night when we wanted to return we couldn’t get a table. Such a memorable meal, all the pastas were incredible, staff were lovely and accomodating. Will be dreaming about that pici for years to come until I hopefully return Grazie Mille

Wonderful, quiet location just off Via Nazionale. We enjoyed the outside seating. This was easily our most delicious meal in Italy. Wife had pici pasta with olive oil and truffles. I had tagliatelle with Bolognese. Both were outstanding, though simple. Excellent service.

Very friendly staff, very good food ( the steak with truffle was the best steak I had in years...) and an excellent housewine. Why not 5 stars you might ask? The location could be better. But don't let that scare you! Definately worth a visit when in Cortona!!

Fabulous experience at Cortona Bistrot. The pesto lasagne was stand out! The chefs work so hard and everything is made fresh. The hosts were also great with wine recommendations from the local area. Would highly recommend! It is only a small restaurant so I would recommend booking.

Had some of the best food here while visiting tuscany. Had a pesto lasagna which was amazing and my wife had a delicious pasta. Service was also good. Worth a trip if you are staying near or visiting Cortona.

I called to make reservations and the owner, Davide, was so very pleasant and sent me directions and made sure to make our honeymoon dinner exceptional!!! His wife is the Chef and he works just as hard as his employees! When I asked what his favorites on the menu were he explained that his wife was the chef and everything is excellent. Davide was NOT joking or being kind…this truly was exceptional and literally FOODIE HEAVEN! There were only 4 people running the restaurant- him, his wife, a sous chef and one waiter. This place truly had the he best food I’ve ever had! Period. End of story. The view, the kindness, the complex flavors left both my Italian husband and I completely speechless; which for me is a RARE occasion. He promised a special night and delivered it! I was truly impressed, honored and grateful for his special gem.

Incredible natural wine list - the owner Arnaldo is a wine maker and has spent decades building the most comprehensive natural wine list in Cortona. Best pasta we’ve had in Tuscany. Warm, friendly service. Must visit! We came back twice and will be back!

Arrived during the afternoon to have a few drinks and some food. The waiter was very rude initially asking us to wait when we were being ignored standing for a table. After we were seated we sat for about 20 minutes without anyone taking an order for us. Felt very hostile and rude, avoiding serving us. Very disappointed as we looked forward to having something but staff made us feel unwelcome and we got ignored from the minute we sat down and therefore decided to leave as it was clear they weren’t in any rush to serve us

Pasta was good and service was attentive except we were disappointed by the pizza. If you are looking for authentic Italian pizza dough this is not what you are looking for. The pizza dough is more like a hard thin crust rather than sourdough based style but the pizza topping is good. It’s a shame about the dough base.

Absolutely incredible experience at Fufluns! Every single dish was outstanding, from the perfectly crispy, flavorful pizza to the juicy, delicious burgers, the fresh and tasty pasta, and the heavenly homemade desserts (every single one made in-house). Very good food, at a very good price. We stayed in Cortona for a week and visited this restaurant on our second day. It was so good and such good value that we came back on our last night. I can particularly reccomend the parpadelle with wild boar sauce, and if you are hungry their Calzone may be the biggest pizza I have ever seen!

The burgers and salad were inedible. Buns as hard as rock and the meat was unsalted and lacked any flavour. Not to forget the arrogant servers and exorbitant prices. This is a tourist trap and might only survive because it’s the first cafe on the Main Street. Please walk down the street and find an alternative. Avoid this place like the plague.

Went there to taste Lampredotto - place is ok, service could be better, food is good. Big downside is that toilet stalls don't lock from the inside.

Great place for burgers and fries with beer. Burgers come medium rare, you have to ask for dipping sauce for your fries.

Tasty burgers and they also offer a wide array of pizzas. Only complaint was the buns being a bit tough, but that could just be the style of bread they use.

Most arrogant service we have ever received. Absolutely disgraceful. I never write reviews but this was so bad I wish someone has warned me. Lots of lovely places around to eat so just stay clear of this one. The not bad experience we had during our lovely stay in Cortona!

Variable burger choice with good chips. Unfortunate are the burgers not very tastefull as the menu describes them to be. Little blend taste overall, while the meat itself has a Nice taste. The personel is friendly. Little disappointment was when it startend to rain... The owner who was sitting outside didnt seem to care their customers were getting wet. Luckely we managed to stay dry by our own actions.

The Tagliatelle al Ragu Bianco di Cinta Senese was EXCELLENT! Just simple but very tasty. Husband enjoyed the Pici all’Aglione very much, but he was expecting more “oomph” from his salsicce e Fagioli, I think. The Tortino di Patate con Formaggio al Tartufo was delicious! Not thrilled about the raw sliced zucchini with blasamic glaze on the side, however. Our friend enjoyed her Filetto di Chianina and it was beautiful, but it came with a side of chips, which seemed a bit pedestrian compared to the beautiful beef. Overall, the good was really good and we were happy. Worth a return to try other dishes as well.

Perfect place. Great food and the best service we had in Italy. The waiter was patient, extremely friendly and competent, having to run the entire restaurant himself. Totally impressed. Homely place with very reasonable prices. Highly recommended. Must try is the specialty pistachio pasta and truffle risotto.

It was the best dinner in Cortona we’ve had (and we’ve been here for a week). Gnocchi were very tender, beef tartar and potato cake were delicious, and tagliata was much better than in other places, the oil sauce was wonderful. Our daughter loved the hamburger. Grilled vegetables were available here as a side dish, and we really missed that in other places in Cortona. Sweets- profitroli and hot chocolat cake were expectedly perfect. As a side note: we were extremly delighted with the whole experience. Light simple modern-style interior.

As a bonus, the town of Cortona itself is also incredibly picturesque, making the whole experience even more special. During our short stay in Cortona, we went twice—and on our next trip to Tuscany, we’ll plan our itinerary to make sure we come back. Restaurants like this are what make Italian cuisine truly legendary. The only surprising thing? The prices are still very reasonable—for now.

My wife has been to Cortona 3 times and we have been trying several places during this visit. The Preludio staff was so very helpful and always were eager to answer our questions. The atmosphere was great and the owner is the same as The Dispensa next door. The gave Prosecco when you sat down, before desert, and nice Limoncello at the end. My wife and I both ordered tasting dishes (Preludo and Chef’s Score). It was a culinary delight having so many delicious small tapas type courses. Her fillet was tender and tasty and my stuffed guinea was outstanding. We met some couples sitting next to us and starting talking and laughing and the staff didn’t try to rush us out. This was such a great meal and overall experience. (By the way, that chocolate sphere desert thing is entertaining and very rich)

The multi-course meal that followed was outstanding — each dish beautifully presented and full of flavor. You can really see and taste the care and passion that goes into every plate. My sister and I stumbled upon Preludio after having a not-so-pleasant first encounter at a famous Cortona “must visit” restaurant that had little care for customer service. We’re so happy we found this truly beautiful restaurant instead, it completely turned our evening around. Marcella truly made our night perfect. She was one of the nicest and friendliest waitresses we’ve ever had, so warm, attentive, and genuine. She made us feel completely at home and turned our dinner into such a special experience. I had the octopus, and it was absolutely amazing — tender, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. Every dish we tried was delicious, beautifully presented, and clearly made with so much love and attention to detail. To top it all off, we enjoyed the homemade (slightly spicy) limoncello as an after-dinner drink, which was the perfect final touch. Preludio is more than just a fantastic meal; it’s a place where you feel truly cared for. We left so happy and grateful we discovered this restaurant.

We had the six course tasting menu - Il Preludio. The complementary green bean soup is outstanding so is the smoked goose breast. The following three dishes are all creamy taste to me. I would prefer a bit variety to my taste buds. Also the beef fillet has a fine tendon in it so it’s hard to chew. Overall the food is good and service is outstanding.

The decor, food and service are exquisite. Our villa host recommended this lovely restaurant on our first night. It was so enjoyable we returned three more times. Marcella’s service was top notch every time. We were fortunate to meet the owner, Nella. Every dish, from plentiful antipasti to pasta, meat and dessert were all outstanding. The cheese fondue is heaven on earth! Our family friend, two teens and ourselves enjoyed every visit. Highly recommend for upscale and very pleasant dining.

Amazing food and service. We thoroughly enjoyed our Sunday lunch. Very authentic and tasty Tuscan food. Vegetables were fresh out of the garden. The meat was perfectly cooked. Highly recommended as the prices were reasonable.

Very comfortable courtyard setting off a quiet alley. Servers personable and attentive. Shared Ribolita, mushroom risotto, mushroom tagliatelle, and a simple sirloin dish with rosemary and peppercorn. Topped the meal with a homemade tiramisu. Every dish was outstanding flavor cooked to perfection. Best meal of our 2 weeks in Europe.

We try and return often. The food is spectacular and the service is grand. I feel taken care of and indulged each time we come. The extra taste of an especially good olive oil, and homemade bread, or taste of Prosecco, or homemade laurel liqueur. You can tell the owners enjoy sharing the experience of wonderful local Italian food with their guests. This is a unique place where you know you are eating ingredients that have been attentively and locally sourced.

I had dinner here, the food was rustic in style and presentation but tasty and came in generous portions. What was less rustic was my bill which crept up to 47 euros with service and water.

Mandatory for Celiac's. The best gluten-free bread in the known universe, no exaggeration (and the gluten-full food is great too). Attentive and friendly staff that communicate well in English, cozy and inviting atmosphere.

Scam restaurant! Unreliable place. Booked this place 3 weeks ahead before visiting from New York. The cancelled my reservation 3 hours before the dinner when it was not possible to get a reservation in another place (it’s a small town, restaurants get booked during the weekend). Asked help to find another place, no response. Do not rely on them.

We have been coming to this gem of a restaurant for years. The food is divine! We have great admiration for chef Paula and her impeccable food and staff. There are always many vegetarian dishes to choose from and food our children and teenagers enjoy as well. The melted cheese with truffle appetizer on this last visit was out of this world! The atmosphere in the courtyard is intimate and the experience feels special. Excited to return as soon as possible.

Walked the town of Cortona and ended up in a small restaurant near the center called Ristorante Tempero. Our waiter described their style of food as "cucina povera" but their pastas would be 5 stars in the U.S. and were super tasty. We particularly enjoyed the Trenette al Pesto, Pappardelle w/ Beef (translated it was "white cattle"), and Grigliata di Carne. The Trenette was handmade pasta with the cleanest tasting pesto sauce I've ever had. Would definitely order this dish again. We also had the panna cotta and tiramisu for dessert. While both were very good, I think the tiramisu was one of the best I've ever had. Super good!

This restaurant was amazing! This was our second time here in four days! The service is incredible. We love the atmosphere and the food is amazing! The wild boar spaghetti was incredible as was just the homemade noodles in the spaghetti and any of the meat! I would highly recommend it!

By far our favourite place in Cortona! We came back 3 times in our 3 days of being in the area. The waiter and waitress we had were amazing and attentive, especially to my 1.5 year old son. They were so accommodating and the food was melt in your mouth delicious. We will be back!

Great restaurant experience impacted by unseen costs in the bill! Service was great, friendly, knowledgeable, funny. Food was tasty and local specialties were available. Lovely outdoor dining space. We were a party of four. I had to make my reservation online twice. The staff is nice. I was the only one to order an antipasto bruschetta with lard and unfortunately it did arrive after my main dish was already on the table. I had the slow cooked wild board with polenta, it was good, a little too salted, but I think that having something sweet on the plate with it would have been nice. The deserts were very nice.

Food was nice and flavourful. The outside terrace was clean. Staff was responsive and friendly.

Vegans and vegetarians- they will take care of you! We got the bread toast with vegetables on it, the vegetables soup and the potatos, it was great! The service was amazing, very polit, ask all the time if we are OK and need anything else. Highly recommend!!!

Unacceptable service. Cold lasagne, totally mixed one of the orders, took forever to bring us a bottle of wine - the food actually came faster. They charge as if they were a fancy place, but the service is nowhere near. Also the highest coperto in the area and not even one piece of bread or glass of water was provided to us while waiting (besides the one that they also charged us for without asking). Disappointing, considering standards in the region. The food itself was ok.

One of our favourite places to eat during our short stay in Tuscany. Particularly on the terrace, watching the world go by. The staff were friendly and professional and the food was great too. Good sunset down the street as well!

Amazingly lucky. While walking in Cortona looking for a restaurant, an elderly lady offered to take us to Il Cacciatore, boy were we lucky. The food was absolutely exquisite, the dishes were authenticly Tuscan and the staff helped us pair them with delicious regional wines. We knew we had found a gem when locals kept coming in for orders to go. Ate one of the best rib eyes in my entire life, from a wild boar, after seeing two local tables order it, the pasta was perfect and the entrees devine. As if it wasn't enough, the service was friendly and the atmosphere welcoming, so welcoming in fact that we felt like regulars. Sat talking for a half hour after the meal, it was a perfect ending to a wonderful day. Do yourself a favor and find the Il Cacciatore.

Great service, staff paid particular attention to our dog to make sure it was comfortable. Both food and wine was magnificent. We couldn't have been made more welcome and we're going back there tomorrow night!

The staff was very friendly and the food was good. The gnocchi with truffle were fresh and had a real tartufo taste. The wine was good and prices were okay. The Caprese was average.

Here they have a fondue starter! That’s so great, our kids had an opportunity to try fondue without us planning it and making a reservation two days before our dinner :)

We never miss stopping here when we’re visiting Cortona. Wonderful, creamy gelato with great flavor. This time we tried their Dubai chocolate and it was amazing!

Delicious, so creamy! Greek yoghurt was absolutely incredible, would really recommend this flavor. Also very intense coffee gelato. Nice staff. You can pay with a card.

Tried two flavors, wasn't very impressed with either, asked to try a third and final one, they said only 1 tasting per person (it wasn't even busy), so I took my business to the shop around the corner that wound up having way better gelato. Personally I've traveled all over the world never had this issue at any other gelato/ice cream spot as long as I was being reasonably quick and not trying everything on the menu

Good gelato, but it would be nice if the staff didn’t make fun of their clients, laughing in front of them only because they are not Italians, or because of their accent, or simply because they look too different to their limited point of view. In Cortona to see a Villa from my wife’s book club (ugh) and we ate at Ambrosia. We know beef, raise beef, eat beef, but the best beef steak I have eaten in 30 years was here (Sciarrington Beef Fillet). I cannot speak highly enough about Chef Matteo and his staff. A must visit if you are here from the States.

This was hands down a culinary experience! We were in Cortona for 2 weeks and had dinner here 3 times. We are huge foodies. The passion that Chef Matteo puts into his food made you feel like he is cooking dinner for you personally at his home!! We cannot wait to come back!!

This spot came highly recommended, but unfortunately, it missed the mark for us. From the moment we arrived, something felt a bit off. While the one waitress on duty was impressively efficient, the overall service lacked warmth or welcome. The menu looked promising, but the food was average at best — a 3 out of 5. Compared to other meals we enjoyed throughout Italy, it simply didn’t measure up. It may have just been an off night, as the couple next to us said this was their 2nd time dining here.

We were walking around Cortona trying to find a nice place to have dinner and all of a sudden we saw these magical candles and inviting cozy tables outside. That made us check it out. They absolutely did not mind that there were 5 of us, though it seemed just for romantic dates. We were inside and enjoyed every minute of it: atmosphere, decor, food, wine. My son really liked the beef fillet steak, they even made pasta for our picky toddler, the cheese plate was amazing. The best part was that the chef came up to us to talk about the food and this will definitely be an unforgettable experience overall. Highly recommend!

Sartù is a tiny hidden gem down an alley that you wouldn’t notice unless you appeared down and saw some tables outside on the steps. But boy am I happy I went in there thanks to my host and TripAdvisor. This is a one chef one server restaurant at least in the fall months. The menu had the most delectable titles of dishes. My ravioli dish with red sauce (a rarity in Cortona) and ricotta and other cheeses was titled something like “when everything good comes together and is nice.” Hilarious and true. I also had a dish with a round of pork covered in local vegetables that felt like it had been cooked in a stewing pot. It was the most delicious thing I’ve eaten all week. And not stereotypically Tuscan cuisine like most of the other restaurants in town, though they did have some staples like the Chianina and white beans.

We had the most wonderful lunch at Sartu today! The food, service, interior, and the handwritten song sheet menu was Perfetto! The mushroom and beef ravioli was so incredible that it has ruined me from ever having a comparable ravioli again. The handmade ravioli was perfectly shaped, and when you bit into the mushrooms they passionately released their juice in your mouth. The chickpea soup with its thin toasts had the most beautiful broth. Highly recommended!

***Update - I made it to Cortona today, April 12, 2024, and I fulfilled my desire to visit Sartù and meet Michela in real life. The restaurant is down a magical little alley off of a picturesque Cortona street (you will only know the beauty of Cortona if you visit, so do yourself a favor and go!). It's just like the pictures, but better because it's right in front of you. The inside of the restaurant is cozy, with interesting artwork on the walls and decorative settings on the tables. Michela had a special greeting card just for me, knowing I was coming and enjoying my initial review. It was a nice and thoughtful touch and I knew right away that her passion was legitimate. Michela came out to greet me and my girlfriend with an authenticity and enthusiasm that warms the heart and makes you feel at home. We ordered antipasti, first & second courses, and of course dolci. Everything was amazing! The pasta was so fresh and delicious. The flavors were perfetto! The wines complimented the dishes completely. We were so happy to have such a great experience in so many ways. It really made our stay in Cortona extra special. Thank you so much, Michela, for the best time! ❤️ We will surely visit you again our next time in Tuscany. Until then, arrivederci! I'm currently researching restaurants in Cortona for a trip in April, so I have not dined here...yet. I was first drawn in by the pictures of the entrance in the alleyway, which is enchanting. But my attention quickly turned to the responses to reviews from the apparent owner, Michela. They have become my entertainment for the evening. So passionate and raw, her scathing retorts are fierce poetry. The responses alone deserve 5 stars. I'm more intrigued than ever to visit this restaurant and meet this Michela. My only question is, does she offer vegetarian options?

An amazing experience in all aspects. The surroundings are so amazing and the food is hand made in every aspect! The tagliatelle as a first course were so amazing and yummy I definitely wanted more and more but a second course was ordered so I had to pace myself and wait. The music around us was so pleasing and enchanting that every moment was so vital. Then the Tagliata arrived together with the best Chianti aka Grigio and I/we were so blissfully satisfied we stayed and chatted with the Chef and the waiter, Beppe for hours. We had such a great time here! The pizza was absolutely amazing—so fresh and flavorful, honestly some of the best we’ve had. What made it even better was our waiter. He was so kind and had us laughing the whole time. You could tell he really cared that we enjoyed ourselves. We left feeling happy and full.

Just got back from one of the best lunch experiences so far in our trip to Italy. The food was really outstanding. The prices were very low for this part of the world and a really good value. The pizza was one of the best we’ve ever tasted, also the pasta was something I’ve never experienced before. Pici with Ragu. The real thing that made it special was that the staff were so authentic,kind,warm,and welcoming.

I have spent 2 months in Italy trying the regional dishes of each place, and this is one of the best meals I have ever had. I had the pasta with ragu and white chianina sauce and it was perfection. The meal could only be topped by the quick and friendly service and the cozy atmosphere. If I ever return to Cortona, I will be coming back for lunch and dinner. Grazie mille for the best meal!

What an amazing lunch. There were 6 adults and 4 children. Best pizza in our 2 week holiday. Doesn't look much from the outside but there is a nice courtyard inside the restaurant that we sat at. Tony the man that served us was really really good even though his english was limited. Kept coming back to entertain the kids. And ye the pizza was amazing.

Absolutely beautiful pizza: wafer thin base and delicious toppings. I had the Tartufa, which was absolutely to die for, and my son had the salami. Very reasonable prices (about 8 euros each for a large pizza) and the pizzas arrived wonderfully quickly. An unpretentious and welcoming little restaurant which simply specialises in delicious food. Avoid at all costs. It’s the typical experience for a bar that is near a town center and has been blessed by the location alone. The pastry is sub par, coffee is for Italian standard below average and the servers are extra unfriendly that really drives the 3.7 average rating home. We were here with a child and this was the unfriendliest waiter in Tuscany. Just go down the street and choose another option, there are far friendlier and better ones. I cannot recommend it at all.

We stayed nearby and came to this cafe a few times for breakfast. They make fresh orange juice and have a good selection of pastries as well as some pizza and sandwiches.

The location is excellent and offers great potential, but unfortunately the service does not match it at all. The staff came across as rather unfriendly, which made the overall atmosphere unwelcoming. Additionally, the Aperol Spritz was poorly prepared and did not taste as expected. Considering the prime setting, the experience was disappointing and fell far short of what one would expect here.

Here in Cortona I found the Bar Caffe Sicnorelli. Upon returning from walking the ancient Roman road, I stopped in Bar Caffe Sicnorelli. The food is wonderful, my pastry was still hot and the cappuccino delightful. This is a local hangout. Recommended by a fellow who has lived here for more than 60 years (now that definitely means something!). I met him here through a friend about 12 years ago and he showed me around town. I came back because I fell in love with Cortona. I asked him the best gelato place in town, and he immediately said – “the one across from the post office!” He was right. We have now spent one month traveling all throughout northern Italy and Tuscany. This shop has beaten them all. Definitely the most creamy and delicious. Very impressive. Five stars.

Very nice place for a dinner - have been there with friends; it’s not a problem to find something good for vegetarian and for someone who doesn’t eat meals with gluten. We tried local and typical for the region food and everything was really good. Bonus: young waiter, very helpful and sympathetic, who understand polish language! But we were talking italian (thank you for your patience). Prices are also fair and the wine🍷and coffee ☕️ was very good! Thanks for a pleasant moment of our holiday in Cortona! :)

**Review of Osteria Le Rughe in Cortona** My experience at Osteria Le Rughe in Cortona was disappointing, despite the attentive and good service. The staff was friendly and prompt, ensuring our needs were met throughout the meal. However, the food fell far short of expectations. Both pasta dishes were greasy and marred by the overpowering taste of burned garlic, which made them nearly inedible. The two main courses were equally lackluster. The grilled meat was particularly disappointing—flavorless with a burnt exterior that ruined any potential enjoyment. Overall, the poor quality of the food overshadowed the positive service, and I would not recommend dining at Osteria Le Rughe.

The restaurant is tucked away in a quiet corner of Cortona and I found the staff friendly and helpful. My starter of panzanella was a refreshing starter on a hot day. My first course of pasta with pear and bacon was , tasty and I finished with a generous portion of vin santo with cantucci biscuits. With two glasses of chianti and a coffee, my bill came to a reasonable 37 euros. Just as good on my visit this year, evenings seem to get fully booked, during the summer anyway.

It’s been a very long time since I’ve felt this satisfied with not just the dishes but the eating at a restaurant experience as a whole. Disposable menus and tablecloths, an attentive waiter wearing mask at all times, a friendly and helpful chef. Tacked away in a small alley, the Osteria is cute both outside and inside. And the food, oh the food. Ought to give a shout out to the fair prices too.

Great dinner! While the menu was entirely in Italian, our wait staff, Christoper, patiently described items for us. We started with Robillota, a lentil, Kale, bread soup. My husband and I shared a bowl for our appetizer - plentiful and so tasty. I chose for my main course, the Quagile (quail) - amazing flavors- light and so tasty. My husband had the Maremmani (fresh ravioli filled with ricotta cheese with tomatoes on top). Super yummy. The chef, Matteo, and wait staff, Christopher, were wonderful. Definitely will be back!

€6 for a tiny bowl of lettuce, €11 for two small slices of grilled chicken. Bread was stale. Pizza average. Took 30 mins to get the food. Absolute rip off

Often very busy but staff are lovely, food is good and prices are reasonable. Fantastic view out the back so grab a seat fir sunset and watch the colours change.

A perfect meal--fine but also casual dinner at Al Tocca late September with friends turned out to be our best dining experience in a long Tuscany vacation. Food quality, preparation, presentation and Taste were excellent. Wine pairing delicious. Small things prepared in-house, like the light and hearty table bread and after-dinner liquor were memorable. Luis and the team were outstanding enthusiasts for the chef's menu of traditional Tuscan cooking combined with a modern touch. Bravo!

Amazing boutique local restaurant, with only a few tables (reserve in advance!). Exquisite food of high complexity, texture, flavour and using both local and foreign influences. The host gave us a fantastic experience, he customised the menu to suit our needs, gave us tastings of wine-matching (even though we weren’t doing the degustazione menu) and altogether went out of his way to make it a special evening. This place is great! Moderately-high pricing but worth it €€-€€€

We visited Cortona from New York City and ate at many restaurants during our week there, but this was by far the best. The service was also excellent. Wine pairings complemented the tasting menu perfectly and the prices were extremely reasonable for the quality of the experience. We will be glad to return someday.

One of the best dining experiences we had while in Italy. The manager and staff are extremely knowledgeable in their wines and their food. Everything was paired to perfection. Luis, Christian and the entire team at al tocco was amazing. We had the most exceptional meal tonight. Superb service. Delicious food that was simply above and beyond. Above all, the wine. Luis is so knowledgeable and glad to share his love of wine. This is apparently not a Michelin star, but how? It is without rival.

We visited Al Tocco with some friends last night. The staff are very well drilled and speak several languages. Great atmosphere (recently refurbished) and the food was the best we have had in Tuscany. Their knowledge of Italian wines and ability to pair this with food is excellent. €100 plus a head for food and wine but worth every penny

This place is truly special. I'm not exaggerating when I say it was the best meal I've ever had. Every single bite was so flavorful and delicious, Definitely opt for the tasting menu with wine pairings, you won't be disappointed. So happy we were able to try this place before they become a Michelin starred hot-spot. It's a great value at €110 per person for the five course tasting menu with wine pairings. If you have the chance, definitely go here for dinner. The chef will no doubt be famous by this time next year.

Five-star reviews don't lie - we arrived here on Friday evening, very spontaneously and were practically alone for the entire dinner. And although we don't speak Italian, and Marco actually only spoke it, it didn't bother us in the slightest - the magical taste of the food stood up for itself. No need to say too much, just come to Trattoria Errusca and fall in love with Tuscan cuisine (as we did)❤️

Went to eat here and no one was in the restaurant at 8pm. We were met by some local “bouncers” telling us the restaurant was full. I was staring at empty tables. Seems like they meant it was full for tourists. I was excited about eating here due to the reviews but it seems it is for locals only.

This restaurant has some of the best Italian food I have ever tasted. The owner and cook, Mario, is a charming and friendly Italian gentleman who also teaches cooking classes sometimes. I came back to Cortona after six years just to eat his fumo pasta (so so delicious). If I am ever in Italy again, I will return to Trattoria Etrusca for more. Could not recommend more highly!

Very short menu, with a few starters, four pastas and two meat dishes, and all of the plates are really delicious. The best rustic, hearty ossobucco I have ever tasted and the pastas (especially fumo) makes you feel like you’re at your italian nonna’s and nonno’s house. Also Mario is the most welcoming and friendly host. (It’s really a good point that they doesn’t make tiramisu in the hot months, because they’re aware of its health concerns)

Best pasta in town! They serve very good pasta. We had tagliatelle zucchini and tottelini fumo. All the simplicity, with a lot of flavor. All of that for a good price. Mario is always willing to have a good chat

Went there on our first night in Cortona, tried a lot of restaurants afterwards, but eventually came back 2 more times on our last 2 nights. The best, most authentic local meals you can think of, lovely food and lovely people! Grazie mile!

Everyone must eat here at least once. A one-man show; Mario hosts, cooks and serves. This is like going to eat at someone’s home and is a special experience. Knock on his door ahead of time and see if he’s around so you can make a reservation for dinner.

A meal to remember! We had a lovely 5-course vegetarian tasting menu for our whole family - including the kids (although they could have chosen to order a la carte) who are 10 and 12. Reservations recommended as one of your highlight meals! It was such a beautiful experience and the flavors were outstanding. They are the same family who also run Cafe and Pasticceria Vanelli so the nods to coffee were so fun. Thank you for a beautiful and magical night!

A hidden gem in Cortona. My wife and I decided to spend the evening in Cortona and spoil ourselves. We were not disappointed. A fine dine in restaurant run by a Cortona family with some much history. We give this restaurant ten out of ten. Excellent food, service outstanding and the ambiance cannot be faulted.

My sister and I ended our 10-day sister trip through Italy with dinner at L’Ortino in Cortona, and it was truly the most magical experience imaginable. Tucked just three narrow streets away from the busy, touristy center of Cortona, this hidden gem feels like a secret you’re lucky enough to discover — and I’m so glad I made a reservation in advance. From the moment we stepped into the beautiful courtyard, it felt like we were being welcomed into a family’s gorgeous home rather than a typical restaurant. The atmosphere was warm, intimate, and special in every way — so intimate, in fact, that there were only three other dining tables besides ours. We chose the 7-course chef’s tasting menu, which turned out to be one of the best meals I have ever had in my life. Each dish was thoughtful, beautifully presented, and absolutely delicious. I’m honestly surprised the James Beard or Michelin folks haven’t descended upon this place yet — but it’s only a matter of time. Monica and Giacomo, the incredible Maître d'hôtel duo, made the evening even more unforgettable. Their service was the smoothest and warmest I’ve ever experienced, attentive without being intrusive, and always making us feel genuinely cared for. In the end, they felt like friends. L’Ortino is so much more than just a meal; it’s an experience that feels personal and heartfelt. This place is truly special and absolutely perfect for the last night of a beautiful trip. If you find yourself in Cortona, do not miss this phenomenal dinning experience.

One of the greatest dining experiences I’ve ever had! Starting with the fabulous wait staff, Monica and Giacomo were incredibly kind and hospitable and very knowledgeable about the food and wine. We had the Origami tasting which was 7 delicious courses plus the 5 glass wine pairing. The food was sophisticated and incredibly unique, with highlights like a coffee and basil cod, tomato and coffee cold pasta, and pigeon breast with a corn reduction. The wine selections were perfect for each course and incredibly unique. The ambience of the restaurant was peaceful with classic yet chic decor and in the garden it felt like you were in your own little world. This truly is a Michelin star restaurant in the making, I highly recommend coming here on your visit to Cortona. But definitely make sure to get a reservation!

This is a superb restaurant in the heart of the ancient city of Cortona. It features three tasting menus, one focused on vegetarian offerings; one which infuses coffee into each dish, and one that features all of the favorite dishes of the restaurant. In addition, the restaurant offers a three or five glass Wine pairings, and I strongly recommend the five glass wine pairing simply for the experience of several unique vintages. The restaurant is located in a historic bakery, and the family has remodeled the facility entirely while keeping touchstones to its historic past. It’s a beautiful space on the second floor and features small nightly seatings of only five or six tables. The staff is incredibly attentive and serves each unique dish in unique plates and settings. And, because the family who developed the restaurant were originally bakers, the bread and Grasini are not to be missed. The food is wonderful and memorable. More than one friend has told me it was the best food they’ve had in Italy. The dishes begin with simple hors d’oeuvres and continue through unique courses that feature local ingredients prepared by a gifted chef. This isn’t simply good cooking. It’s a memorable meal created by an international quality chef. This restaurant is focused on a complete experience that blends location & environment, service, and incredible foods. L’Ortino was identified as one of the top new restaurants in Italy last year, and are clearly on their way to a Michelin star. Do not miss this experience. My husband and I have taken our friends and family here over the last year and a half and they never disappoint.

A Culinary Gem in the Heart of Tuscany This was hands down the best food and service we experienced—not just in Cortona, but throughout all of Tuscany! Nice little restaurant in the centre of Cortona. The inside is nicely decorated. Outside is a little terrace. The foodmenu is extensive and traditional Italian. Also available is an extensive wine menu. The personnel is very friendly. Unfortunately the music was rather average non-Italian soft pop, you would expect more genuine music.

This was our absolute favorite resturant in Italy. Its now our god standard with regards to excellent Italian food. We dined there several times while visiting Cortona. Not certain we could pick a favorite dish because they were all so good. Excellent wines and presecco. Service was 5 star plus. Highly recommend!

La Dispensa in Cortona was an absolute highlight of our time in Tuscany — a dinner experience that should not be missed. The food was incredibly authentic and felt truly homegrown, with each dish showcasing the rich, genuine flavors of the region. Chef Arturo treated us like family from the moment we arrived. He was so warm and welcoming, taking the time to explain each dish and share stories behind the ingredients and preparations. You could feel his passion and love for what he does in every bite. It’s rare to find a place where the food and the atmosphere come together so perfectly, but La Dispensa accomplishes just that. A beautiful, heartfelt dinner in Tuscany that I would recommend to anyone visiting Cortona, an experience that leaves you feeling both full and like you're eating in a friend's home. Wow! Had one of our best meals in Italy tonight. A hidden gem!! Highlights: special buffalo mozzarella appetizer, Nonna’s meatballs with broccoli rabe (I hesitated ordering because of the broccoli but it was a FANTASTIC pairing), a beef cheek special (never had beef so tender and delicious)….plus more. Everything was just perfect. We went when they first opened so they could seat us- otherwise I would recommend a reservation.

This place is exactly as advertised. And then some. The food is delicious and beautifully presented, the staff is attentive and helpful, and - obviously - all food is plant-based. Oh, and aperitifs are great, too. Finding this gem in the heart of a steak-country (the city is a host to a renowned steak festival!) means you just must, _must!_ visit and try vegan. Or your visit to Cortona will never be complete.

This restaurant is nestled in one of the most photographed alleys in Cortona and represents everything you think about Italy, character, beauty, and uniqueness. The food and drinks are all prepared to the highest quality and originality. Vegetarian entrees elevated on both flavor profile and plating. The creativity of each entree are truly noteworthy. There were six in our party which allowed for each of us to try a different option and share with each other. My favorite is the tartare, both visually and taste profile, it's fireworks on a plate, it just makes you happy looking at it and eating it continues that happiness. I highly recommend this restaurant for your consideration.

It’s very hard not being able to eat dairy or meat while traveling in Italy, as there are not a lot of options. Finding Scara e Beo was like finding the holy grail. With everything being vegan and sounding so delicious, I honestly could’ve ordered any item off the menu and been happy. I ended up ordering the tortelli and tempeh, with the semifreddo for dessert. Everything was incredible - taste, plating, quality, and quantity. And while I did not order any drinks, I heard other customers around me raving about theirs. On top of all that, the service there was wonderful. They answered my questions, helped me choose what to order based on my likes, checked in with me often, and were overall so kind to an English-speaking tourist. I would recommend this place to everyone - vegan or not!

One of the best places in Cortona. Visiting this beautifulll medieval town we were looking for place with good, typical toscanian flavors. Tempted by good reviews we came to Trattoria Toscana. It was beautifulll saturday afternoon and we choose one starter - slices of toscanian dry cured ham with foccacia, traditional pasta, steak and pear cake. Everything was excellent. Two Ladies serving the customers are the brigtest side of the restaurant. White wine was excellent along with great cappuccino. Prices for the quality od the food are also superb. We were in Cortona for Easter and able to make a reservation on short notice. The staff were delightful, seemed to be a family working together. We ate light that night though restaurant is noted for its meat (which smelled amazing) had the most delicious ravioli and the Pasqua antipasta and dessert which were both amazing. The cave-like ambience is gorgeous.

This place is amazing. Underground caves deliver an atmosphere worthy of one of the most romantic places to eat. The food is outstanding and a service to match. Another must visit as are all other restaurants in Cortona we have visited.

The food here is PHENOMENAL I never wanted to stop eating this food. Between the bread to start, the red lentil soup and the bruchetta for an appetizer. The drinks were also phenomenal, we had a wonderful bottle of wine to pair with our food. 10/10 recommend and i will be back here if i ever come back to cortona

The place is unique , you feel like dining in catacombs The food was of good quality but the « mixed grill » plate was very poor in quantity. The quality was excellent though Service was polite but a bit detached. Can’t really complain though since they were professional

Not bad food but sorry to say that was our worst dining experience in Italy ever( we come 2-3 times a year). Unbeleivable slow service for Italy. They took an order in 30 minutes after we got out table. Another 1.5 hours- for main dishes. And the restaurant was half empty at that time. All other places in Cortona were more welcoming for us. Perhaps not our day.

We had a good experience at this restaurant. The bruschetta was a bit disappointing, so we'd recommend skipping that dish. The other dishes were well-made and tasty, although the portions were on the smaller side. Service was prompt and we didn't have to wait for a table. Overall, it's a solid choice, just be aware of the portion sizes.

A wonderful surprise. We came here not knowing what to expect and it was fantastic. Very authentic and delicious home cooked meals along with a super cozy and warm atmosphere. The Ragu Pici and Lemon Chicken were the dishes of the night for us. Our waitress, Luna, was super helpful and sweet. Massimo, the chef and owner, came out and greeted us during our meals as well and made our dining experience great! Will definitely stop by the next time we visit the areas

Very good seafood restaurant just outside of the Cortona city walls. Pretty setting, nice furnishings, and the food was excellent.

We have dined at CantaNapoli for almost 20 years. It's among our favorites in the area. Its evolved from a local Pizzeria to a more seafood centric spot but they still retain the local charm. The food is amazing from beautiful seafood to pizza ! Deserts are special from Napoli ! Can't wait to visit again !! PRO TIP ask for the amazing Oysters !! Mario the owner is the best !! We love him.

Absolutely LOVE Bar 500, great breakfast and lunch spot, definitely stop by! I was studying abroad in Cortona for 3 weeks and had to stop by every couple of days, I couldn’t stay away! I also believe the pizza was from a frozen semi-finished product. You have to pay for couvert but there is no bread, no breadsticks, nothing. Only salt and pepper if the factory doesn’t make the frozen pizza salty enough. Multiple people asked us if we want water, I don’t know why. Inside there is a price list where takeaway espresso costs 1.30 EUR, but by the table it’s for 2.50 EUR. Have you ever seen Italian with take away coffee?

We wanted to order pizza but find out it was frozen ( supermarket ). We went for bruschetta, but those was tasteful enough, however very price ( 16 euros a piece ) for the quantity. When the waiter brought us the bruschettas, she spilled some oil on my pants without saying anything. Then she dropped the plates on the table and left. When we left she started calling us not educated, after a bad experience. Don’t recommend.

I cannot recommend Tonino catering more!! They catered our wedding and provided all of the tables, chairs, linens, etc. From the very beginning of the planning process, the team was such a joy to work with— kind, professional, and attentive to every detail. They also have a huge selection of design elements like plates, chargers, table linens, tables, and chairs to make any wedding very personalized and beautiful. They truly went above and beyond and the food was AMAZING!! We received so many compliments from our guests about how great the food was! My personal favorite was getting to prepare our delicious cake in front of our guests! It’s a memory we will always cherish! We seriously can’t thank Tonino Catering enough for making our day so special and we would recommend them wholeheartedly to anyone looking for an outstanding caterer!

Recommended by a work colleague, well worth the visit. Fab setting overlooking Val De Chiana. Food was absolutely delicious from start to finish. The antipasti were a real highlight, amazing variety, and big helpings. Desserts were gorgeous. However, service was slow, a couple of orders got mixed up, and meats were served with the wrong sides. They did their best to make up for it.

Tonino catered our wedding in Umbria and it was an absolute dream. We had a pizza welcome party and the wedding itself. The staff went above and beyond. The food was so incredible and even better than I could have imagined. I am still getting texts about how good the food was. They did an incredible job setting up every single thing and they made my wedding day so perfect and so much easier for me.

What a catastrophe!! After driving into Cortona this restaurant was next to our Hotel so we decided to book a table after freshening up in our room. Well…that didn’t happen. We asked to book at 2pm so we could freshen up but they said no, 1.30pm was the only time we could book. Plenty of available tables but it had to be 1.30pm. Shall I say other people arrived after us and were allowed a table. So after sitting at the table which they had reserved for us, we were then asked did we make a booking!!! Then they completely ignored us for 25 minutes walking past our table several times to serve other customers and clean up other tables. Then they served the other customers that walked in after us. Finally we were served after asking. Also every other customer received bread and oil (as is common in Italy) but no not us. We had to ask twice and finally we received this 40 minutes after sitting down (and after our entree). Then after our entree we ordered our main meal. This took longer than expected to arrive ( they did apologise for the delay) but it was a different meal to what we had ordered. We were not going to wait for the correct meal to be cooked because it would have taken too long. I did inform them of this incorrect meal but they did not appear to concerned. So by this stage, despite my wife’s suggestion to say nothing, the manager needed to be told. To his credit he did apologise and offered us complementary dessert but by that stage we were the last people in the restaurant. We just needed to get out of there. When we paid for our meal the manager did discount our meal so he should be applauded for understanding our situation, but we would have preferred a more pleasant lunch. Simply put…..unacceptable service !!

We stayed at il Falconiere and the experience was extremely disappointing from beginning to end. There was no proper welcome—just a drop-off at our room with no tour of the property, spa, pool, or even directions to the restaurant. Staff seemed uninterested and unhelpful throughout the stay. We traveled with our 2-year-old daughter, and this hotel was absolutely not kid-friendly. There were no accommodations, amenities, or services that made families feel welcome or comfortable. We also spent $680 on food, and every meal was served cold. For that price, the quality and service were completely unacceptable. The hotel itself is small and underwhelming, and the customer service was the worst we’ve experienced in our travels. I strongly recommend avoiding this hotel.

Spend the money. It is worth every penny. We spent five nights there for our daughter’s wedding and it was magical. Of course the food is great given their Michelin starred restaurant, but the reason to stay is for the beauty of the place. The rooms are great as is the service. Don’t miss drinks on the patio with the best bartender in Italy, Daniella. If you need to plan a wedding as we did, Giada is sure to exceed the expectations of the most demanding bride. If time allows have dinner at their rustic, traditional sister restaurant, Locanda Il Molino. Our evening there including grape stomping and dancing, really. It was one of the most memorable in all my trips to Italy. Anna Maria and Stefano ensure that everyone has a wonderful night.

I honestly don’t know how anyone could say anything negative about this hotel—it’s absolutely stunning. The food was incredible, the service was top-notch, and every detail was perfect. I worked directly with Debora to plan my wedding here, and it was truly a dream come true. We stayed in the Winery Suite and held both our ceremony and reception on-site. I couldn’t have imagined a more perfect experience.

Lovely yet very expensive and very remote. The breakfast is exceptional and while the restaurant is acclaimed we found the six course meal to be over the top. Everything cost a fortune. 2 of us did yoga for 130 euro. Crazy. The staff is friendly and the setting is to die for. The rooms are nice but not great. Pool and spa are fine. Many mosquitos. Bring bug spray. It’s very nice but prepare to leave with an empty wallet.

This is our second time visiting. Silvia and her staff are so welcoming and accommodating. It takes someone very special to create what they have to offer. The gardens all around are magical. The rosemary grows everywhere! The fruit trees are amazing! From the garden to the table you are wowed! The spa is relaxing you have the pool and sauna and steam room. Yes, the place is probably the most beautiful restaurant we ever been, including several star and even a couple of 3 stars. That's been said the experience was a real disappointment, we arrived on time for our reservation, then we sat down on our table to wait from 21:30 until 22:05 only then to be asked about we wanted to order. The maître d presented the full options of menus to us, only to then say, he didn't recommended the full tasting menu, cause it was too long, and couple minutes later, he confirmed that even if we wanted, it was already too late to serve it, when we were there on time and waited 45 min to be served, only with the welcome glass of prosecco. 🤷🏽‍♂️ The food yes is good, although nothing blow our minds. The spicy spaghettis with raw shrimp super good the same as the stake tartar, the best two. In general the service never felt like the one of a ⭐️ restaurant. In total we payed 320€ for 3 course + dessert and a 45€ bottle of wine.

We went there twice. Older male waiter is very rude and pushy…no time or help while ordering. This place needs different waiter if they what to do better. Food was okay. They never brought out ordered espresso and then argued saying they did . Don’t go there if you want rude service while you trying to enjoy your Italy experience. We are never coming back. We went back a second time, because after a week there we wanted something simple, near our villa, and not up on the hill in Cortona. The server, an older Italian man, took our order both times. Dinner came and the food was good, but not near memorable. My wife said she hoped there would be tiramisu when we finished dinner since it had run out the first time. We had a delicious lunch here twice during our stay in Cortona. Standouts were the antipasto platter, salmon salad and Niçoise salad, and spaghetti with pesto. Very friendly service. And it’s in the shade! A winner.

Had a wonderful brunch today at Tuscher Hall. The food, service, music and atmosphere was fantastic. A quiet and beautiful spot to enjoy fresh squeezed orange juice, coffee and eggs. I highly recommend stopping here whenever you are in Cortona.

A lovely decorated place with a very peaceful atmosphere, the drinks are heavenly and the host is SO friendly. I recommend this place with all my heart. We especially like the Spritz drink which comes with small appetizers which change daily. They are as tasty as they are pretty!

FYI, the road there was a bit tricky—would hesitate to do it without automatic transmission, since it’s a rocky downhill road—but it was 100% worth the view!!

The restaurant is really nice with a lot of western ranch elements. The food is great with a spectacular view. The place is a hidden gem, right outside Cortona. The biggest challenge was to get there with a large car, the road is very small with a serious incline.

The restaurant has an American Ranch theme which is interesting in Tuscany and inside it's quite dark and all wood but that is part of the character. Pictures and memories everywhere which is cool! The terrace is spacious and and offers a beautiful view out over the valley looking towards Montepulciano. The food is good, but the selling point is the view and location that makes you enjoy it more!

There are great and memorable restaurants all around the world. El Comanchero is an experience unlike any other..... I have been to this restaurant many times coming from Toronto and it is a must go to if you have not been. Everything about this place is the best ever!!!

I like their friendly service. The meal is perfect. I have been eating very salty in Italy. Their kitchen is normal, perfect and not salty. I really enjoy alone. Their wild pork and grill veg were perfect for me. I asked waiter for me a glass of wine to drink with wild pork. He recommend me a nice glass of wine.

Such a nice place. The atmosphere males you feel you are far away, somewhere in the jungle, even though you still can have a nice view over the valley. The sushi is a little on the pricy side but boy is it worth every penny. The staff is super friendly and attentive, but gave you all the time and quiet you need. Very nice location in the park, with a playground around the corner makes Umami look like a good choice for families. But they seem to be unable to do anything apart from Sushi and Tempura. And the price - eg 8 EUR for two simple Nigiri - is absolutely not justifiable. Finding a good sushi restaurant in Italy (not to mention Tuscany) is very difficult. However Umami is definitely one that you have to go to if you are craving some sushi. Do keep in mind however that, like most sushi places, it is not the most inexpensive place around.

The restaurant was excellent. The service, atmosphere and food was some of the best we had in Italy. We were received on Thursday night with grace and without a booking. The food was so good we booked and returned on the Saturday night for the tomahawk steak, which was delicious and very generous.

We had read all the good reviews and were looking forward to a nice dinner but something must have changed. It’s a very nice little place and town, friendly staff but the food was disappointing. My beef was charred as were the grilled vegetables and even the fries were not worth having. My companions were also disappointed. Also, it was not even that cheap. We’ve had more and better at lower prices.

We had a dinner at this restaurant. Unfortunately we couldnt fall in love with the dishes. Half of the sauce in my pasta was cold. both dishes were unseasoned. definitely below average taste. I do not recommend.
