Park
Hornchurch Country Park is a must-visit destination for anyone exploring the Hornchurch area. Spanning over 100 hectares, this expansive park invites visitors to immerse themselves in its lush greenery and rich history, particularly its significance during World War II. Whether you're seeking a peaceful stroll or an educational experience, Hornchurch Country Park offers a refreshing escape into nature's beauty. The park is complemented by other scenic spots like Harrow Lodge Park, making it ideal for leisurely walks amidst stunning landscapes.
Great place for a morning walk. Can get very busy with dog walkers, etc but this gives a nice community feel as people are friendly and welcoming. Great place for nature lovers - in one 5-minute session, we identified 11 different birds using the Merlin bird call app. It's my wife's favorite country park in our neighborhood.
Horace J — Google review
It's huge and has long trails for walking and cycling. The park and playground for kids is very well equipped. There is a cafe with toilets and is a great place to grab a bite or some snacks. The pond area with ducks is another attraction and a place to relax. Definitely my favourite place to walk.
Anupama B — Google review
Lovely visitors centre, shop, cafe & toilets. Very clean, covid safe and welcoming. Tarmac path suitable for mud free walking, buggies, wheelchairs & cyclists. Good signage, includes information on how to avoid the hill. Lots of benches, picnic tables and litter bins. Then there's the nature! Lots of side paths to go off piste and explore a huge area. The playground is interesting with traditional and adventurous equipment. Look out for pieces of history - remnants from the war, plus a lovely memorial to RAF Hornchurch.
Nicky T — Google review
Beautiful park for a walk. I've never done the same walk twice, as the park is so big and the walking routes are so varied. The cafe is a nice spot for a rest and the benches outside the cafe are great for catching the sun.
Adam — Google review
Beautiful park to enjoy, easy to walk around, access to wide paths pushchairs, prams, wheelchairs and electrical aids friendly, has a fishing lake with ducks, geese ect, fabulous wild life a viewing point to look over wet lands,a lovely play area for kids and a wildlife centre, shop, and cafe. Its dog friendly, there is also a memorial area, and a lot of ww2 history as it was once RAF air field base.. idea for family, group walkers, and anyone wanting to enjoy the fresh air.
Leeann F — Google review
Very beautiful park despite the busy surroundings, it is a great place for a long walk as it is so vast and open. There are multiple free of charge car parks available here, these are all quite clear on Google maps. There is a large lake within the park.
Rose V — Google review
It would be 5 star for the country park but 1 star for the cafe, the prices are extortionate, myself and my grandchildren visited yesterday and ended up going to the small Tesco opposite for meal deals because if you have a few children with you then it’s to dear to eat in there, there is no concessions on children’s meal even in the Holidays , I do believe it’s why the place is always half empty and since also it used to be dog friendly but now they are banned so now you only have a select few that can use the cafe.
Ellen D — Google review
I visited here in October 2022 as part of walking the London Loop route around London. This was a great country park on a former RAF base with lots of reminders from it past life to discover.

Museum
The RAF Hornchurch Heritage Centre is staffed by helpful and well-informed individuals who possess a wealth of knowledge. It stands out among other military museums due to its local connections and nostalgic appeal for those who grew up in the area. Visitors can gain insights into both World War II bombing technology and changes in geography from the 1920s to the 1970s. While accessibility may be limited, there is plenty to engage with before fatigue sets in.
A fantastic experience, with very very friendly staff! Great for all ages and you can spend as little or as much time as you want, as there is so much to see! (Definitely worth the entrance fee) Definitely interact with the staff, as they can provide really valuable info on the exhibits, and thank you Brian for such a great tour :)

Very informative. The men who volunteer are great and so passionate about educating us and making the tour interesting for both children and adults.I dont think enough know about this hidden gem and the knowledge the men have who volunteer so I 100% recommend and will spread the word so people dont forget our history. What a fantastic museum, full of wonderful and enthusiastic volunteers! The museum has been really well put together and is like a tardis on the inside, with so many interesting things and stories. Would highly recommend a visit.

Very interesting museum with 10 areas of exhibits. The place is full of information about the airfield and the part it played in the wars. There's a fun exhibit on the film The Battle of Britain, a room presented as the officers' mess and another showing life in the 40s. Well worth a visit for all ages.

We’ve been to this theatre many times, they always have a good array of shows and this particular one, Bowie Experience, was no disappointment. Atmosphere was great which I think is what attending your local theatre should be all about and of course supporting them.

Went to see Shock Horror yesterday. Hats off to the main protagonist. He had a lot to do and he did it marvellously. Well done to all involved in the production. I love this little theatre. Value for money, entertaining and right on your doorstep!
Sarah K — Google review
Lovely community theatre. I went to see Buffy Revamped which was brilliant for any Buffy fan and hugely entwetaining. I also saw Sherlock here which was really enjoyable and I am going again in a few weeks to see a Horror show. I am not exactly local but it is easy enough to get to on the District Line and there is a car park next door. Nice bar and cafe with snacks and drinks and friendly staff.

Recently took part in a multicultural workshop here. Great atmosphere, polite and helpful staff...lovely little coffee shop in foyer space.

Great show and no bad views in this theatre. Would've been 5⭐️ if only we could've got an interval drink! Small bar and very long queue. We had to go thirsty until show was over...bar doesn't appear fit for purpose. But a good night was had otherwise.
Theresa E — Google review
Went to see the Cinderella production with partners' grandchildren. Love this theatre as plenty of leg room and no matter where you sit in theatre you get a good view. The show was excellent for both adults and children. They gave children booster seats. Children were aged 10 and 8, respectively, and they loved the show, as did us adults. Recommend Cinderella performance 👌

Upminster Windmill, a picturesque four-sail smock mill built in 1805, stands as a significant piece of history in the Essex countryside. Originally constructed by local farmer James Nokes, it is now a Grade II* listed building and considered one of the best remaining English smock mills. The site offers visitors an immersive experience into the area's past and is currently undergoing restoration to preserve its historical significance.
I went to see the windmill with a group of local Cub Scouts. The volunteers from the windmill were so accommodating and friendly. They gave us a tour of the windmill and explained to us how it worked. We went around the windmill in small groups and each group had at least two guides. The guides were safety conscious and advised us all of the hazards, especially the children. The windmill is not accessible to disabled people, mainly due to its age and design. I thoroughly recommend visiting the windmill, see their website for open days. There are beautiful gardens at the same location and I found them very inspiring.

Built in 1803, Upminster Windmill is one of the finest remaining smock mills in the country, and has a rich history. In 2016, a restoration project began to bring the mill back to working order, saving it from collapse.

Stunning windmill, especially when the sails are unleashed - Stopped off to see the windmill on Tuesday, 05th August 2025. Past this windmill for years, when it was closed and sail-less. Appears to be open more now that it's been restored, and the site includes plenty of parking and the buildings around the windmill are part of the museum. The stunning aspect of my visit was witnessing the sails unleashed, which, tbh, I had never seen before at windmill visits outside the Netherlands. Check the Website/Facebook site for opening days and times, as otherwise, though you can walk to the site, you won't be able to park next to it. When open parking is free. Very limited parking opportunities nearby if not open.
Jeffrey S — Google review
It was fantastic, volunteers were friendly and informative. Lovely garden and a good old fashioned cuppa.
Emma G — Google review
Nice. If you just visit the outside, it opens 24 hours and free of charge.
William Z — Google review
I visited the windmill yesterday on an open day with my children. I really enjoyed it, the volunteers were knowledgeable and easy to talk to. The windmill had multiple floors with clear explanations of what each floor did. I loved that it was something different and a great bit of local history.
Caroline F — Google review
Wow what an incredible place to still have, such a great bit of local history for Upminster and the residents should be very proud of it. I really hope lots of people go to visit when it opens for visiting. I did a craft fair today and didn’t get the chance to tour but I cannot wait to.

Harrow Lodge Park is a well-maintained and spacious green area that offers various amenities for visitors. It features playgrounds, sports facilities, and a serene lake where waterfowl can be observed. Families with children can enjoy the children's play area, expansive fields, and walking tracks around the picturesque lake populated by ducks and swans. The park also houses a charming cafe offering a variety of delicious food options at reasonable prices. Visitors can even take a relaxing boat ride on the lake.
I never knew there was a cafe here until The other day and it's a family-run cafe I was sat down by the lake watching the world go by, and how beautiful it was. Staff are friendly, there are plenty of country walks that take you through to eastbrookend I do believe, at the start of the park there is a play area for the children, and plenty of space for them to run around.

Very nice with pond, boats, swan, ducks and birds and lovely cafe, and a playground for kids with free parking. There's even two small iron bridge which looks amazing...good day out with kids whom had so much fun..
Ali K — Google review
The park has a pond with boats swans and ducks it has narrow paths and it’s sometimes too crowded for cycling as dogs and kids run unleashed and hazardous fro same ! It has enough benches but could do with more at night only one path is lit and rest is dark ! In rain it can get flooded on Hornchurch side near the bridge on the river that feeds the ponds ! Overall it’s peaceful and pleasant and quite pretty in spring and summer and you can see Canary Wharf from the mid high point and great sunsets on certain days

Country park
Ingrebourne Valley at Hornchurch Country Park is part of a diverse landscape in Essex, featuring unique highlands, lowlands, river valleys, marshes, and urban quarry landscapes. The park boasts well-maintained picturesque surroundings with RAF Hornchurch sculptures and historic landmarks. The Ingrebourne River flows through the area, which was once the RAF Hornchurch Airfield. Visitors can explore the unique features of the airfield marked with informative signage throughout the valley.
What a beautiful place to walk around. All the old war bunkers. Great to take your dog for a walk and the cafe for a coffee. Mind you it is very expensive so bring your own biscuits. But in all was a sunny beautiful day out.
Tracey C — Google review
Great experience in the outdoors, lovely relaxing place to go to, to see the world's end. Fantastic views of countryside and wilderness especially with clear skies and sunshine. Great wildlife and lakes and endless fields and valleys that go on forever. Great for the kids and family, with guided educational trips and many pathways to walk along some that go 11 miles, be prepared! Great pictures and videos can be taken on the hills with views of Central London, Dartford Bridge, Greenwich Buildings, and much much more to be seen. I would advise you to take a jacket and umbrella just in case the weather turns nasty and cold. This is where urban life meets the real earth of nature, mother nature of the course. As this area is a conservation area, the rules are very strict that no fishing is allowed in Ingrebourne Lake as all the creatures are protected by law. So enjoy and have a fun day. Essex Wildlife Trust's Ingrebourne Valley Nature Discovery Centre is a partnership project between Essex Wildlife Trust and Havering Council. Built-in Hornchurch Country Park, the centre overlooks the fantastic marshland and reedbeds of the River Ingrebourne Valley.
Azhiar S — Google review
Lovely country park, with meadows, ponds, forest and muddy trails. The wilderness in full glory. The park has free car parking in several spots and other amenities when visitor centre is open: toilets, cafe address essential, then they have kids activity play areas, exercise equipment and picnic tables and benches.
Raiy N — Google review
Well maintained beautiful picturesque country park with unique features including RAF Hornchurch Sculptures, Historic Landmarks and Visitors Centre. Ingrebourne River runs through this Hornchurch Country Park. This area used to be the RAF Hornchurch Airfield and many unique features of the Airfield are highlighted or marked with info around the valley. Last surviving RAF Hornchurch Dispersal Bay is now being used as the Visitors Car Park. Picnic tables, benches, playgrounds, outdoor gym, running trail are some of the key features of the Valley. This valley also links to other parks and farm around the Hornchurch Country Park. Visitors Centre has essential amenities including Accessible Toilets, Cafe, Education Trips - these amenities only accessible during the opening hours! It has all the essentials of a park right next to the car park - playground, outdoor gym, picnic tables etc. Whole valley is the safe and welcoming place for different species through diverse plants, Meadows! A very pleasant country park to visit alone or with family/friends!

Raphael Park is a picturesque recreational retreat located in Romford, featuring a serene lake, well-maintained landscaped grounds, sports fields, a charming bandstand, and an inviting playground for children. The play area offers plenty of climbing structures and swings for kids to enjoy. Visitors can also explore the park's ornamental gardens and observe the diverse birdlife around the scenic lake. Great park to go relax and have a walk around with a combination of water, woodland and open field space to break up your day. Perfect place for a nice day out with the family or some quiet time alone. There is free parking available across the road (but you have to register your stay via Ringo or the machine available or you will get a ticket) The walk around the exterior of the park would take roughly 30 minutes. The children’s park is located in the opposite corner to the lake. There are also tennis courts available for free booking with information available in and around the courts on how to book them out. There is a large green area for anyone looking to have a picnic or do outdoor sports. If you forgot your picnic or don’t want to bring your own food there is a lovely cafe located near the lake which you can visit with indoor and outdoor seating. From what I remember they are dog friendly also. Overall a great park for use by all and well maintained by the grounds team.

Went to see Beauty and the beast at the Brookside theatre this week. What a great show, we loved seeing a panto at Easter. Dame Fanny flapjack was amazing and her many , many dress changes impressed us greatly. I wish I was going to the adult version this weekend as I imagine it will be hilarious.

Went to the opening night of The Addams Family at The Brookside Theatre in Romford, what a night! the production far out weighed our expections. The cast portrayed the charactors perfectly and was hilariously funny and had some brilliant scenes. The production was worthy of any West End theatre without West End prices. Would highly recommend.
Neil W — Google review
I visited for the first time with my family recently, and it's okay. The shows are affordable, and the drinks and snacks aren't too overpriced here. It is great to have something like this in the area. However, there were some cons for us. The sound quality wasn't great. We saw School of Rock so being a musical, it was heavily reliant on the sound being good. The acoustics aren't great, which is forgivable for a small theatre, but the whole show, the vocals were quieter than the music, so it made it hard to hear most of the lyrics which was a shame. And the worst con of them all was the chairs. My goodness, they are one of the most uncomfortable chairs I've ever sat in. All of us were complaining of back ache and numb bottoms even just by the intermission. I personally found myself distracted by the discomfort I was experiencing and not being able to pay attention some of the time. It is a shame, and unfortunately for me, it has probably turned me off of the idea of returning unless there is something I desperately want to see that's worth the pain because it spoils the experience. Other than that, all the staff were really lovely, it's clearly well looked after and it is a very sweet theatre, but it seems like it's going to be a one off for us. I will update if I ever go again and they've got new chairs 🤣
J — Google review
We traveled from SE London watch DSUK the Dire Straits tribute band. On arriving I thought the venue was small but it was perfect. The sound quality was amazing and the staff couldn’t have been nicer. There was a mix up with our seats and Jean sorted it out for us with charm and a smile. We will definitely return. A lovely venue.
Abi P — Google review
This theatre truly is a gem in the middle of Romford. I have been to a few shows here over the past few years including Elf, Peter Rabbit, Frozen, Disney School of Rock, Beauty and the Beast and I have just come back from The Twits. The quality of the shows are just amazing and I always leave with a big smile on my face and I can't wait to return. The theatre itself is lovely and very clean and has all you need with a car park right next door. This theatre holds a special place in my heart.

Large reduced pixel pitch LED tiled SMD backlight independent driven display wall adding to the enjoyment experience. Good stage lighting arrangement. Helpful staff, and good onsite facilities. The room was a little cold. Great show.

Visitors can enjoy scenic views over London and Kent from this historic nature reserve.
Amazing place to go to for a nice walk, and also if you or your kids love deers. You can feed the deers some carrots. Very beautiful hidden gem near Harold wood. You can even see the London skyline, and the sunset is amazing.

Overall great place to go with family. Deers are a great entertainment, and to walk around is actually really nice. Park/play area isn't anything amazing for kids but still good to have something. The dog owners need to clean up after their dogs, so much poo around.

Nice place for kids. You can feed deers, ducks and park also there. Kids will enjoy.

Very nice and good place for walk and if you aant to go at calm nature place this is the best choice also there are deers or others u can enjoy with it

A stunning hidden gem local to Romford / Havering area, lovely choice of park to pick if you're in the area! Beautiful view of the London skyline aswell as surrounding areas. Nice big playground if you have children and the deers are a great attraction for younger ones aswell, as well as if you have carrots lying around yourself!! Recommend!!

Great place for hiking with play area and lake further down.

Highly recommend this place. You can feed the deer carrots and it's very spacious. The toilets are clean and there is free parking. Only down side is there's lots of poo on the grass but I guess that's to be expected as not all dog owners pick it up, which they should.

Flea & Street Markets
Romford Market is a historic and vibrant open-air market that has been in operation since 1247. It is located in Romford, England and opens every Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday. With over 150 regular stalls and an additional 100 temporary traders, the market offers a wide variety of goods including fresh produce, meat, clothing, media, housewares, antiques, jewelry, flowers, music and tech gadgets.
It was nice, maybe little known passage of the Liberty shopping centre, connecting its central hall with the Market Place. Nice, charming caffes, suitable for romantic rendezvous, also big shoe shop with really low prices for branded shoes, flight centre, health and beauty salons, several toys for children, etc. I was really surprised to find all that and hope to come here again. Yes, Romford and its shops are worth exploring!
Nelliliuciamylove A — Google review
Nice market place right next to The Liberty shopping centre. There is plenty of parking and it is spacious too. You can go to the local shops there and find a lot of finds for cheap as well. The only downside is that it has really weird parking times/ restrictions. It is also I believe a little more expensive than parking at the brewery.
Zayyaan Z — Google review
A wide variety of African and Asian goods. You can negotiate a price with the seller. Nice people too.
Freshgrains A — Google review
This market opens on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday. It's a nice place to get your groceries fresh and cheap from the vendors. You can also get affordable clothing, like socks, gloves, hats, warmers, toys, plates, pots etc. it's really a nice place to visit and shop. You need to have cash as most sellers don't take card payments. There are food vendors and snacks available for your enjoyment. Make sure you go with bags as well.

Absolutely love Romford market. It’s part of a clean, safe large shopping centre, which has a wide variety of shops, restaurants and entertainment eg cinema, bowling, ice skating, swimming, laser tag, boulder wall climbing, indoor soft play

Went thrrr on market day a good few stalls out fruit And veg , Clothing, Asian perfumes nice variety of eating options kitchen equipment on the whole a good selection of stalls
FAITH — Google review
Romford market is sadly seen it's day, it definitely is outdated with only one third of stall spaces being occupied with a low attendance of customers. Money is hard to come by for alot of people so when shopping people are looking for a guarantee when shopping. There is no guarantee that the person on that stall selling goods will be there the next market day. There are now shops offering goods at the same price or even lower, but with a difference, you have a receipt giving you a guarantee, and shops as the likes of Primark possibly has taken away alot of market shoppers. Times have changed as have the customer demands. It will not go backwards only forwards. Havering Council needs to decide whether to keep Romford market. Whilst I'm aware there were plans some years ago to change the use if the current space this was staunchly opposed with thousands of signatures against the idea of losing the market. It would be very interesting to know if those thousands of signatures actually go to this market and spend their money.

This historic market started from the year 1245. The local market comes every Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday. It has all kinds of amenities for daily use like Bedcover, sheets, towels, toys, utensils, all kitchen supplies, cleaning materials, craft items, fastfood stalls, bags, dresses, winter/summer clothes, eggs, jewellery, plants etc. It has ATMs nearby.

Havering Museum Ltd, situated on the premises of the old Romford Brewery, is a testament to the borough's rich history and heritage. The museum, entirely managed by volunteers and established in 2010 with support from the Heritage Lottery Fund, offers insights into Havering's brightest achievements and its diverse areas' formation. Visitors can explore permanent and temporary exhibits showcasing Romford's historical ties to royalty while also participating in activities like old-fashioned card-making classes.
Such a lovely little museum with incredibly kind and helpful staff! I visited to research historic photos of Romford for my geography NEA, and the staff went above and beyond, providing me with so much information and even a few little goodies. It truly feels like a hidden gem! If you ever find yourself in Romford and are looking for something to do, I highly recommend stopping by. It’s an underrated spot that gives you a real glimpse into Romford’s past. Thank you so much to everyone there!

Its a nice and neat little place you can go to if you want to learn about the history about romford as well as hornchurch and havering. Although the place is pretty small, they were kind enough to give me a mini tour and tell me what parts i was allowed to take photos of and what ones i wasnt. I liked the stuff they showed such as the miniature models and the different types of coins or shillings with facts of how people used them back then. There was some stuff you was allowed to interact with like the hand cuff/locks, the roman armour and shield, the puzzle of the old map of romford/kent etc. Nice place to check out if you're in romford

A little Museum with a big heart. Lots of interesting objects within the Museum, telling the history of the site (Old Ind Coope Brewery) and the local areas. Plus, add to that the wonderful talks they arrange, ranging from historical to pub beanos and hop picking. Friendly staff and a very clean venue.

In October 2022, I visited the Essex Wildlife Trust Ingrebourne Nature Discovery Centre as part of my walk along the London Loop route. This visitor center, located in the Ingrebourne Valley Wildlife Sanctuary, offers a range of amenities including toilets, a cafe, and a shop. It also provides information about the park and its surroundings. The walks around the center are enjoyable, although there is one road without a pavement that can be dangerous to navigate.
This place is a very friendly place for kids, adults and animals as there are water bowls for dogs outside the shop and you also can buy snacks for animals! The food is very good and also it is located inside a park so that if you're thirsty/hungry you can do that!

Great visitors center, with a cafe, offering basic foods and drinks at a reasonable price.

It offers a friendly atmosphere with helpful staff and ample parking for both cars and bicycles. Visitors can enjoy a variety of dining options, from restaurants to cafes serving delicious meals. Additionally, the centre is beautifully decorated during the Christmas season, creating a festive ambiance.
One of the best shopping centres I have attended and recommend visiting. I come from miles just to shop there. Many shops, cafes and restaurants and there's an option of leaving your little children in their nursery insidenthe shopping centre , whilst you do your shopping, the experience staff in the staff will look after your children whilst you shop around the area till your hearts content. Its Free parking on a Sunday.

Love Romford, it's people and this shopping centre, situated just in the centre of Romford. It is 5 minutes walk from Romford railway station and many buses run nearby. Though at the moment there is no wheelchair accessible entrance, but that might be improved by the soon coming modernisation. All shops, coffees and resting places are on the Ground floor. No playground for children, but now there is exhibition of extinct prehistoric animals in their full-size and moving several parts of their bodies. Quite impressive for grown-ups, too! There are also toilets and adjoining big car park. Please, come, shop at your favourite shops, have light snacks at cafees and tea-points, while relaxing and enjoying your time!

Nice place to visit , so many choices for shopping and eat. Halal food is widely available, kids friendly. Will recommend for family with young kids. Parking is free on Sundays.
Bobby Y — Google review
1. Central location & good transport links The centre is very conveniently located in the heart of Romford, close to the train station and a variety of bus routes. 2. Wide variety of shops With around 100 stores including major high street brands like Primark, H&M, JD Sports, M&S, Boots, etc., The Liberty offers a good range for fashion, beauty, lifestyle and accessories. 3. Size, footfall & amenities It covers a large floor area (about 432,000 sq ft) and draws millions of visitors annually, which suggests it remains a go-to destination for many. It also has an 800-space car park. 4. Shopping environment & recent improvements The centre is generally clean and well maintained. Some shops are undergoing refurbishments to modernise their spaces. Accessibility seems good — located mostly on one level, and easy to get around on foot, including for those with mobility needs. 👎 What could be better 1. Vacant units & lack of sparkle in some areas Some parts feel less lively — there are empty units, and certain areas could use more aesthetic attention. 2. Safety & anti-social behaviour concerns There are occasional reports of anti-social behaviour, robberies, or concerns around safety, which may deter some visitors. 3. Parking frustrations Although there is a large car park, users sometimes find the exit/entry routing confusing or inconvenient. Also, it can get very busy at peak times. 4. Slippery floors when wet Several users have noted that when it rains, the polished floors in courts and corridors get slippery, which can be a hazard. 5. Competition & need for more diversity While the big names are present, some people feel that there could be more variety — especially more independent shops, leisure options, or novel dining experiences to make visits more interesting. --- ⭐ Overall impression The Liberty is a solid shopping centre that ticks many boxes: location, variety, accessibility, and amenities. It’s not perfect—some parts feel dated, and there are issues with safety perception and empty shops—but recent investments and refurbishments suggest it's heading in a good direction. If you’re going for general shopping, grabbing a bite, or spending a casual day out, it’s a good choice. For something more special or premium, there may be better options out of the immediate area.

The Hop Inn, located on North Street, has been recognized as the top pub by the Campaign for Real Ale for two consecutive years. Upon entering, guests are warmly greeted by the owners Phil and Alison, who go out of their way to ensure a pleasant experience. The cozy atmosphere encourages friendly interactions among patrons, making it feel like meeting old friends. The pub offers a small yet high-quality selection of wines and ales, with keg ales served at an optimal temperature.
Visiting from SE London and meeting up with a friend and this is one of the friendliest bars I’ve ever visited. Owners introduced themselves on entry and table service ensued with great discussion around the beers available. A small range of lovely Belgian beers was available this weekend and thoroughly enjoyed. Can’t fault this place in any way.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Perfect Wedding Day Pit Stop – Full of Love and Cider! The Hop Inn will always have a special place in our hearts! After our wedding ceremony at Langtons House and before the reception at Ardleigh House, we had a pre-arranged little “secret” stop at The Hop Inn — just the two of us, newly married, taking 10 quiet minutes to breathe, reflect, and raise a pint of their amazing Apple Pie cider together. It was our tiny slice of calm on a whirlwind day. Well, imagine our surprise (and theirs!) when 12 of our wedding guests had the exact same idea and showed up too! It turned into the most heartwarming, impromptu mini celebration — hugs, laughter, and cheers all around. We’ve always loved The Hop Inn, and it meant so much to include it in our big day. The team were friendly, welcoming, and totally embraced the unexpected moment with us. Honestly, it couldn’t have been more perfect. Great drinks, great vibes, and a memory we’ll treasure forever. Thank you to everyone at The Hop Inn — you were a beautiful part of a beautiful day. 💛🍻

Langtons House, a stunning Grade II Listed manor from the 18th century, is nestled in the charming Hornchurch, Essex. Surrounded by beautifully landscaped gardens featuring an ornamental lake and an elegant orangery, this venue offers a picturesque setting for weddings and celebrations. Couples can choose from four distinct rooms that provide breathtaking views of the grounds or opt for an outdoor ceremony in front of the lovely orangery.
I had the pleasure of photographing one of Langton House's special candlelit ceremonies. It's worth knowing that the room is too dark to photograph using available light and you need to ensure you book a photographer who is experienced with making flash photography look natural to maintain the atmosphere of the candlelit ceremony room. The venue is gorgeous for couple photos even at night time in Winter, the venue staff are organised and accommodating, don't hesitate to book your Havering registry office wedding here!

My daughter's wedding was 31st May 2025 & the only thing I can say is extremely disappointing. We made sure we arrived in good time (12.30pm) but was left waiting outside until 12.55pm when the wedding was starting at 1pm. My daughter was then taken in for the legal signing which has to be with a "fountain pen" which was leaking. Unfortunately this led to her beautiful satin cream dress having ink on it. My son walked in to her to help & the staff just looked on saying there was nothing they could do. After being left outside too long & the unfortunate incident with the pen (now 20 minutes behind) my daughter was finally married but after the service we were rushed and told we couldn't have many photos. We had to move from the main area where the nicest photos would be taken to a corner area. The photos had to be rushed and most were not even taken that we wanted as she had to choose which were the most important to her as we had extremely limited time. When we visited for an open day at Langtons the staff explained that it was very relaxed & we could take our photos at our leisure. I have attended weddings at this venue over the years including my brothers & was never treated in this way. The one wedding which was most important to me had to be spoiled. I feel as her photos have been ruined I now have to re-hire suits and dry clean my daughter's dress to try and salvage some sort of memory for her. The photographer said that her experience at Langtons had never been more appalling handled.

The Hidden Relics - great game for any age. 1 hour play. Interesting idea of having fun with family or friends. Location is easy to find. The staff members (George and Emma) very nice, friendly and helpful. Parking space at the front of the building, you can register your car. Image from outside the building. At the end of the game they emailed me 3 pictures from the game rooms with my daughter and her friends, free of charge.

First time doing an escape room and it was such a fun experience - me and my friends loved it so much that we’re already planning our next visit. The place is so easy to find, with parking right outside. Our host Ashley was wonderful, so friendly and accommodating and explained everything really well. 5 of us did the Hidden Relics room - challenging but super fun and such an awesome concept. We escaped with just over 15 minutes to spare but it didn’t feel like the time went too quickly. It was so well organised and the set which consisted of travelling through 3 separate rooms and the props were amazing and well put together. I’ll definitely be back to try out some of the other rooms!!

What a thrilling experience again here, this time we escaped Twister and the Clinic! George is the most welcoming escape room assistant and always makes time for us! Twister has been the best so far, thumbs up to the Relic and to Bomb squad as well! Nickita, Eddie and Lily cannot wait for Medusa!

Thank you George for being an excellent host! Will definitely be back Very affordable and one of the cheapest escape rooms. Well thought out games. Not too complicated story lines and games compared to others I have been to. The room deco and special effects were great. Loved the themes of the games. One of the best and cheapest escape rooms I’ve been too. Parking on site. Game was on time and ran smoothly.

Came here with my partner for the Halloween escape room, George and Emma are amazing hosts and was so funny and friendly, they really made our day. The escape room was incredible, i’ve never been to one like it, the theme and decorations were beautiful. You could tell that a lot of time and effort was put into the rooms to ensure happy customers:) 100% recommend going here!

I've done many escape rooms before this and nothing holds a candle to the quality and sheer variety of this room. The host was excellent, he was perfect and we all had a great time. Team KiMCHi room Medusa, second place no clues!

Great experience for my son’s birthday. Hosts were so lovely too. Look forward to trying other escape rooms here.

Park
Haynes Park is an ideal place to relax and engage in a game of tennis. This well-maintained park offers ample space for stretching one's legs after prolonged periods of sitting. Additionally, it boasts convenient recycling facilities, allowing visitors to dispose of excess glass or paper while enjoying the outdoors. Notably spacious, Haynes Park also features an open gym area and welcomes dogs. Furthermore, there is a children's playground and a parking lot available at this highly enjoyable park.
We came here to chill out and play a round of tennis 🎾. It's a great little park that well kept and great to stretch your legs if your sitting down all day. They also have recycling banks here which is handy if you have a lot of glass or paper lying around so you can kill two birds with one stone while you enjoy some fresh air.

This is a nice local park with plenty of grounds for walking and running around. The kids play area is not very well kept but it's enough to keep them busy and happy for some time 🙂 there are unfortunately no public toilets in the park
Umme V — Google review
Good grounds, exercise environment and park for kids.
Dr M — Google review
This park is nice enough but is not very well cared for, there is plastic and rubbish everywhere mixed with a lack of bins ruins the experience a little. The plants and wildlife areas are beautiful and I LOVE the fact they have an important conservation area where they allow wildflowers, a meadow and a small woodland to grow, however, again it could do with a little more care as there is often rubbish and people who do not pick up after their dogs.

Great park, tennis courts, street football pitch, grass football pitch, safe kids playground without dogs, convenient parking. Very good for dog walking, football kick about or take young kids to the swings and slides. Only downside is football pitch is a bit slopy and grass is not shortly cut with a few bald patches. Still very good for a training session or a quick 5-a-side game.

Great small park in Hornchurch. Tennis courts, sports court and small childrens play area. Main drawback no toilets.
Brian J — Google review
Peaceful small local park with free football pitch, basketball and tennis courts. Well equipped play area for toddlers. Lacking in stroller-friendly walking paths.
Naveen P — Google review
A good place to let your dog off the lead and play with the dogs of other responsible owners. Ensure you take bags to tidy up any mess. Parking is good, there is a children's playground

Picture frame shop
Great place to have pictures reframed very reasonably priced and a very good selection of artwork to buy. Thing I liked the most was the owner is not pushy he let's you make your mind up about the style of the frame you select but will happily give advice. That's why we have gone back many times to have prints framed by him
David H — Google review
Terrible attitude from the owner. My wife went in to enquire about having a canvas stretched and possibly framed, the owner gave two options of a thick or thin frame but wouldn't allow the thin frame without visible staples (even though he had a thin frame on display without visible staples) and was trying to corner her into buying an outer frame which she didn't want yet. When she explained she could not choose an outer frame yet due to not knowing which style to go for he said "come back when you can afford it". Ridiculous customer service, do yourself a favour and go to the other framing shop in Hornchurch who offered fantastic customer service and were very accommodating.

I'm extremely disappointed with the service I received from an employee at Hornchurch Fine Art on Thursday, 6th March 2025. Initially, I was greeted by a helpful and professional staff member, Mrs. Belda (or Misses Gelda), who was very nice and accommodating. However, my experience took a turn when I interacted with her colleague, an older gentleman with glasses and grey hair. Unfortunately, he was extremely loud and aggressive during our conversation, he swore at me aggressively and was very vocal. I was taken aback by his behavior and felt disrespected. What's more concerning is that I experienced similar behavior from the same employee when I returned to the store on 15th March.

I am so thrilled with my new frame . Old picture got a new life .Great service -5stars !

Nice lady on the front desk.... pretty bullish guy though, went in to look for a boarder on a frame, what I thought was a fairly straight forward job... apparently not according to the gentleman, felt like I’d insulted him by even asking.... the nice lady came to the rescue though and recommend somewhere else that would be able to help.

Wonderful experience, I had 4 paintings to get frames for and from a quick chat, I was given ideas and tips on what works best and I could not be happier. Thank you for.the excellent service.
Mark A — Google review
Always I have had a true welcome even if I didn't spend any money on that occasion. But I have 2 J J Adams prints I will want to have proper baroque OTT frames and there is nowhere else I would trust my precious images to. They have a cash down first policy but it's because of framing carried out and abandoned by the customer. I just wish they could find the new JJ Adams x

Been there several times for repairs to painting and reframing always great job , very friendly and professional
