Jordi (the man whose name is misleading), with experience gained in the kitchens of Casa Martón and other establishments in Sallent, is breaking new ground in this corner of the Tena Valley. He arrived and opened in the middle of the pandemic. With exquisite service, far from the standards of service in the valley. Attentive and attentive to detail. And a (miniature) high-quality kitchen. In the photo, a board of pickles and smoked meats. Amazing. A melody of sensations for the palate. With a quality vermouth and beers to suit your taste. He's here to stay. With a high standard, demanding quality, and exquisite customer service. Long live the "Mentidero" of Sallent!!! Festival
Pirineos Sur is a renowned festival that takes place in the picturesque town of Sallent de Gallego, where traditional religious music with a popular twist is celebrated. The solemn masses feature unique adaptations of classic pieces, making them famous throughout the region. The festival also offers live music concerts set against the stunning backdrop of Valle de Tena, creating an unforgettable experience for visitors.
Beautiful venue for music
Kent W — Google review
I saw Loreena McKennitt at Pirineos Sur and honestly, it couldn’t have been a better match. Her music has that dreamy, otherworldly quality that fit the setting perfectly. The stage is right on the water, and with the mountains in the background and the sun setting during the concert, it felt almost surreal. It’s not your typical concert venue—it’s more like nature and music blending together. The atmosphere is calm and unhurried, which really lets you soak it all in. One of those experiences that stays with you.

(Translated by Google) For the second year in a row, we enjoyed it. It's no small feat, but it seems to be captivating, thanks to the magic that floats there in the heart of the Aragonese Pyrenees, a privileged natural setting for a spectacular concert in Aragon. This year, the artists we chose were Ara Malikian, Maika Matiuska, and DJ Fran Navarro. A natural setting in a magical place, surrounded by mountains and water, where you can experience the magic of the only floating stage in the world. Although it rained, we had a lot of fun. I recommend it. The diversity of artists (from world music to flamenco, pop, and global sounds) makes it **fresh and surprising** every year. The atmosphere is **unbeatable**: good vibes, people dancing outdoors, and that sunset over the Lanuza reservoir that leaves you speechless. 💛 Plus, the local cuisine and crafts give it a special touch. City Hall
Nestled in the stunning Tena Valley, the Municipality of Sallent de Gallego is a charming small town that boasts a rich history and picturesque scenery. The town hall, located in an elegant two-story building with a traditional stone facade and slate roof, is particularly noteworthy as it stands on the site where the legendary giant of Sallent was born. This towering figure, known for his impressive height of 2.

(Translated by Google) Sallent is a beautiful town, and the Pyrenees Sur festival is wonderful. However, I don't think its town hall is up to par. Yesterday we went to spend the day and enjoy the festival activities. Parking was complicated, with no space and countless cars looking for a spot. We were finally able to park in what seemed like an endless line of cars in the middle of the road without impeding traffic in any way, so we didn't think it was illegal to park. When we returned, every car in the line had their corresponding fine (€200, €100 with early payment) and there was a group of local police officers who seemed very amused. It's worth noting that at midday, when we parked, we didn't see a single one of them helping regulate traffic or indicating to drivers where parking was allowed and where it wasn't. I think the Sallent City Council should be more lenient on days when a festival is held, attracting a lot of people and bringing in a lot of money for the municipality, and not take advantage of it to make a killing and raise untold amounts of money at the expense of unsuspecting people like us. It's a shame, though, because from now on, I think they've seen enough of me. I'll go enjoy myself and spend money elsewhere, which is where things are.

Now, it leaves much, if not everything, to be desired, apart from the overcrowding. They've repeated the same artist several days, as if there weren't any! And they've taken jobs away from many people so that the same old people end up lining their pockets with public money. (Translated by Google) We spent the night in the public parking lot in Sallent de Gallego, as the paid parking lot was full. We complied with the regulations at all times. Around 2 a.m., our campervan was hit by a group of young people. When we looked out, they saw us moving away, but they yelled at us from a distance. They approached us, stalking us three times. In response to this, we chased them and managed to get them to leave. It's fair to say that the rest of the campervans didn't even flinch, and of the townspeople, only two neighbors appeared and closed their windows as if nothing had happened. We called 112 and a Civil Guard patrol showed up. They assured us they would be around for a couple of hours. Thanks to them, we were able to rest, and I want to thank them from here. We've been traveling for many years and nothing like this has ever happened to us. I think the town council should take a closer look at the young people in their town. Yes, they were locals or well-known. The town can't afford this bad image. We bought cheese, went to the pharmacy, and spent money at the bakery and the supermarket. If all the motorhome owners stayed away from the town due to the lack of security, I don't think it would be beneficial for the town's businesses. It all ended in a horrible, panicky night, and that's what we took away from our visit to Sallent de Gallego. A great shame.

(Translated by Google) After spending the night in the RV park and paying the required 10 euros through a rather inconvenient app, as it creates a traffic jam at the entrance while you install it on your phone, we decided to go to the Aguas Limpias Spa, located at the other end of town, parking our RV on the public road like the rest of the vehicles parked there. The Civil Guard informed us that RVs were not allowed to park in the town except in the parking lot at the entrance to the town, according to municipal ordinances, and that we had to walk through the entire town. This rule ignores the national regulations, which stipulate that for parking purposes, parking a car is the same as parking a RV. This discriminatory treatment is unacceptable, especially after spending 75 euros on dinner at Bar Biloba, 42 at the cheese shop, 50 at the gift shop next to the climbing wall, and 84 at the aforementioned spa. I hope these establishments will thank their town council for never allowing us to visit again. By the way, if you're reading this and have been fined, it's absolutely possible to appeal. It's understandable that excessive motorhome traffic is regulated in some way, but always with consistency. In this case, it wasn't hindering traffic on a day with little traffic in the area.

I had a great experience. The ski resort is newbie friendly. Our Ski instructor Jesus is great, motivational and very helpful. I enjoy my first ski experience. ❤️ It’s also not that far from Madrid, so definitely a place I will go back to every year.
Suzette L — Google review
We had a great time is the bottom line. Reading all reviews sums it up well; it's a nice beautiful mid sized resort with lots of parking, some are free(!). The staff are nice and the prices, apart from the ski pass(!!) are reasonable, from accommodation to renting to restaurants. It is suitable for mid-level skiing/snowboarding; indeed most slopes start relatively steep and it's impossible to navigate the site with only blue ones. They do, however, keep the open slope count falsely high as some chairlifts or even slopes are in fact closed/unreachable. I came end of season so it was super nice and chill with few people, but high season here sounds a bit much. Lower the ski pass prices, be truthful about which slopes are really open&reachable and limit entrance in high season and it's a great resort. Definitely worth the visit if you're passing by, but definitely go to a French resort if you arrive by a plane anyway.
Guy M — Google review
Excellent! Massive resort perfectly organised. You can choose from different valleys and slopes. Many parking lots make everything easier. It's a must if you are visiting the Pyrenees. It's really close to the France border, if you want to visit it. Prices may vary depending on the date. Weekends are usually busier and the fort-fait is more expensive. However highly recommended.

Good ski resort, especially for beginners as most are short runs. More advanced skiers/boarders will do the full resort in 2 or 3 days. Worth it for a short visit though. Everything reasonably priced from lift pass to food. No rip offs like in France.

This is an amazing place for skiing on the North of Spain. You can rent an apartment in one of the towns not too far from the ski station and get there by car everyday. If you stay in Panticosa, you’d be able to jump on a ski lift that will get you to one of the ski stations for where you’d be able to get to the hills. Ski tracks are perfect as for beginners and for advanced skiers. There is canteen and few places to eat or have a drink on the hills. If you are traveling with a kid, there’s a kindergarten that will take care of your kid and even teach him how to ski in Anayet. I would definitely recommend this place for families, for those who are skiing with kids and not, basically for everyone. And we would definitely come back!

I really appreciate the truth, here you won’t have those ones. They provide fake open slopes, they open slopes with no lifts to reach there to increase the kilometres of ski opened, they charge you the same price despite they have only 3 lifts open and less snow that my refrigerator. Go to the alps if possible, don’t waste money

We go every year during Feb... Semana Blanca. Great place with many pistas de ski for all levels

Amazing place to enjoy the snow. Quite easy to get there driving. Very large parking lot and easy to access and stay. There are few places to take some appetizers, finger food and drinks. The Ski is good enough and you also can take some clases in advance if you take a ticket for it.

Fantastic kayaking on the lake. Staff were very friendly and kind despite our poor level of Spanish. All equipment provided and instructions/rules for the hour long kayak were clearly explained to us. Would definitely recommend. We didn't visit the restaurant.

The restaurant was kind enough to serve us lunch even though they were just stopping lunch service. Great views, nice mountain local food! Thank you!

There are enough watersport options abd the prices are ok.

Very nice place, excellent views, freezing water in the lake :)

Made us feel bit unwelcomed when arrived, the place is full of warnings and rules that put you bit out of mood. 14€ a kayak for one hour.

Worst service ever! We went in this place to have lunch. They didn't serve us not even water or something. We waited for more than 25 minutes. I kindly asked if I could charge my phone, and the answer was NO. In the end we just left, and nobody said anything. Worst service ever!

El Salto de Sallent is a beautiful and enjoyable hike located just outside Escarrilla in Huesca. The trail, PR-HU-91-b, takes hikers through forests, rivers, and mountain peaks to the impressive Salto de Escarrilla. Along the way, there are stunning views of the waterfall and a lovely lagoon where visitors can take a refreshing dip if the weather permits.
Nice short hike. A bit demanding for the short distance. Beautiful waterfall

A little difficult to reach but well worth a visit. I imagine it gets busy at the weekend.

(Translated by Google) We followed Google's directions and it supposedly took us to the site, then according to Google we had to walk for 1 minute. Well, let me tell you that we walked for almost a quarter of an hour looking for the waterfall and all we found was a stream, yes, with a good flow but we didn't see the waterfall. The path is beautiful but you have to wear appropriate footwear, sneakers with at least heels since it was humid and a lot of stones. As I say, I don't know if we could have made a mistake but there was only one path and we went down until we found the stream, then there was no path.

(Translated by Google) One of the waterfalls you can see near the Ordesa region, just a few minutes from Broto-Ainsa, is beautiful. Wear appropriate footwear, not beach flip-flops, as I've seen some people do. This is the Pyrenees. (Translated by Google) This is a very easy route to follow, but you'll need to wear good footwear, as the descent to the waterfall involves natural steps with tree roots. There were children, but I don't think it'll be easy for very young children. You'll have to be very careful in some areas. It's very well signposted. If you're not traveling with children, I recommend hiking a little higher and reaching a small viewpoint with beautiful views.

(Translated by Google) Starting from the Sallent municipal swimming pool, it takes about 20-25 minutes. It's an easy climb without too much difficulty, except for the fact that it's a continuous climb. I found it more difficult to reach the first line of the jump, as the final stretch is entirely rocky.

(Translated by Google) The final stretch isn't easy. It's not for small children. It's very steep, root-filled, very narrow, and sometimes risky. We were with a dog, a German Shepherd, and we couldn't reach the waterfall.

Peña Foratata stands as a majestic sentinel over the Tena Valley, steeped in local legend. According to folklore, it represents the heart of Culibillas, who sacrificed herself to protect her valley from danger. This enchanting site is not only rich in stories but also offers breathtaking views of towering peaks exceeding 3000 meters. The trek from Formigal to Peña Foratata typically takes about an hour and is best enjoyed on clear days for optimal visibility.
(Translated by Google) It is worth climbing the Foratata hill; You can go from Formigal or from Sallent de Gallego. The views are spectacular even without reaching the peak. There is a circular wikiloc route leaving from Sallent, passing through the Sarra reservoir, Ministirio valley, hill and returning through Formigal with unbeatable views and landscapes. It can be done running for those who like trail running. (Translated by Google) A very beautiful place to start the route from Formigal itself and it is very important to climb on clear days to be able to see all the peaks of the Tena Valley, many of them over 3000 meters. The route to the hill itself usually takes about an hour or so.
