The Ocean Institute, originally known as the Orange County Marine Institute, is a coastal visitor center dedicated to marine education and conservation. Founded in 1977, it aims to teach children about marine science and California's diverse ecosystem. The institute offers interactive exhibits on oceanography and hosts school programs, day camps, overnight experiences, and boat excursions such as themed pirate ship trips and wildlife cruises.
I came here for a school field trip. It was one of the best field trips I had. The best part wad the 2 hour "cruise" where we spotted dolphins and whales. Very cool.
Narek M — Google review
My daughter had fun checking out the touch tanks, jellyfish, and “cleaning” the gray whale skeleton. You could brush it with a toothbrush. The gift shop is the nicest thing about it. The staff is friendly and informative. I just wish they would renovate the property. It’s such a neat building and location, but the place is very rundown. I’m hopeful to see if they clean it up with harbor renovations happening and moving Coffee Importers down there.

What an incredible place! We all found the Ocean Institute very educational and fun! The facilities are beautiful. All the staff and volunteers were super friendly and taught us a lot. Definitely worth the visit.
Kay — Google review
The Ocean Institute may not be as large or as fancy as other marine-based attractions, but that is a large part of its charm. Though small, it packs an amazing amount of information and exhibits into its space. Volunteers and employees are friendly and knowledgeable--the touch tanks have staffing to ensure there are no "Finding Dory" moments for their occupants. Teir new estuary walk is beautiful and informative. In addition, the Ocean Insititute offers an unbelievably affordable ($40 pp includes the tour and museum entry) marine life tours on their craft--we chose the 2.5 hours Whale Watching/Dolphin tour. We found plenty of space on the boat, and again, crew were first rate: helpful, kind, and informative (even when reminding people not to straddle the anchor chain multiple times!). We found ourselves extraordinarily fortunate to see both bottlenose dolphins and "common" dolphins (a nursery pod!)--everyone on the ship had the opportunity to view these beautiful creatures. Even their gift ship is exemplary, with unique items instead of the same four stuffies you see at every amusement park or aquarium, necklaces, other jewelry, and plenty of books, maps, and educational materials. Their location right next to a well-rated coffeehouse/bakery means you have an entire day in a gorgeous location with fantastic food and wonderful people.
Stacie S — Google review
Enjoyable and educational. Kid friendly, but much of interest for the serious adult too. Absolutely beautiful location near the harbor in Dana Point, CA. There is also a beautiful beach and jetty just outside. It's definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.

Thank you Michael! This was our first time snorkeling and it was amazing and felt super safe in the hands of mike! He showed us sea grass, kelp and small critters. He gave us clear instructions while making the experience super fun and welcoming, he was very reassuring and outgoing, definitely coming back to do it again and again, and will be recommending this place to everyone here in vegas! The downside was parking, we arrived at 11:40 for our 2pm appointment and didnt find a spot until 1:40, I'd say arrive with extra time and take the time to walk around and get ready to get in the ocean. A super huge thank you to mike! Keep doing what you do!

My wife and I went to the Tall ship Sail festival 9-12-21. Is there such a thing as having too much fun? Not really. After all that has happened over the last 2 years, this festival screamed "have fun now". Large crowds, fantastic shuttle service, sailing on the ships for the "canon battles", helping hoist the main sail!! So many activities for everyone, even the children. Overhearing families talk about experiences, their children talked about what they did and the fun they had. This was what was needed, not to be missed. Even the those that worked for the Ocean Institute were friendly, loved to interact with the visitors. Thank you Jim for talking with us before the sail event and even looking us up after the event, asking about our adventure. This meant a lot too my wife and I. I was told about programs and camps for children and youths during the summer. Worth checking out parents. Fun was what the doctor ordered, I was not disappointed and would love to do it again in an heartbeat. The only con was, (not their fault), was the food trucks. Now that was disappointing. Basic food for the cost of an arm and leg!!! Was not anywhere near worth it. Better to have brought your own food. We had the BBQ food truck, something "down" in the title. How bad it was, I forgot the name. 44 dollars for 2 sandwiches and 1 order of fries. The fries was the only good thing, basically from the season salt seasoning. Otherwise, fantastic time!!!!!! Beautiful place!! Check it out!
James G — Google review
I loved the tall ship festival this year! The only suggestion is some sort of shade while lined up for the cannon battle on the asphalt for 45 minutes in the scalding heat. We almost bailed 40 minutes into that but am so glad we didn’t. The battle was great!

Dana Point Harbor is a picturesque destination that offers a variety of activities and dining options. The harbor works closely with local fishermen and farmers to provide fresh ingredients for its restaurants, which boast an impressive selection of American whiskey. Stand-Up Paddle Boarding is popular here, with Baby Beach being a great spot for beginners to launch their boards. Visitors can also enjoy boat cruises, kayaking, picnicking, whale and dolphin watching, as well as hiking along the scenic trails around the harbor.
Wonderful place triangle very clean plenty of parking. Amazing land, landscaping, and grass. There are grills and sitting areas you can just set up for a day picnic.

Love going for a walk around the harbor! It’s a good 2 mile loop. Lots of critters out and about.

Family friendly. Accessible for SUP row kayak. Baby beach. Clean public facilities. Nice wide visibility boat launch. Redeveloping currently. But fantastic improvements so far.

This is a beautiful harbor and gorgeous place along the California coast. I wish I had spent more time in Dana point. Gives me a reason to come back again for a little time away. Lots of people boarding and clean clear water. Lots of parking and nice park area to walk around and see the sights.
Fishing C — Google review
Personal take: I love starting the day with a harbor cruise spotting marine life, then grabbing lunch in the Lantern District. Afternoons are best spent surfing at Doheny or strolling the Headlands Trail. Evening is for sunset drinks by the marina or listening to music at the Ohana Festival. It’s refreshing, not overpoweringly touristy, and every day feels relaxed and rewarding. Quick pro tip: Go mid-week if you can, harbor parking is easier, beaches are quieter, and everything flows at that calming Dana Point pace. Bottom line: Dana Point is a SoCal gem, cozy coastal charm, unforgettable ocean adventures, and relaxed vibes without the crowds.

Doheny State Beach is a charming beachfront park situated near the scenic San Juan Bay, managed by the State of California. Accessible via Dana Point Harbor Drive and Park Lantern, it features two distinct public beach areas divided by the picturesque San Juan Creek. The beach offers opportunities for swimming, beginner surfing, and stand-up paddleboarding with gentle waves from the nearby bay.
This is such a beautiful beach, and park. Great camping amenities. My favorite thing about it is the covered picnic areas with grills, and fire pits. I attend 12 steps meetings here and absolutely love the energy with the ocean in view, it's a wonderful location to focus on recovery.
Amber H — Google review
again, I'm not your typical reviewer who gives out 5 stars like free bottle water... it must meet all categories for a park to be considered superb. 1. ample parking! and also for motor home and trailers 2. Great walk paths within the park and extending south to capristrano beach, in and put of the water canal trails leading to mission viejo. for all bikers, Joggers runners and walkers. 3. a great eatery thats seeves beer and drinks and local plates right on the besch front. 4. tables and grills are widely available 5. life guard stations manned and ready 6. break water that's accessible and provides extraordinary views sounds and resting points. 7. for all ages, kids adults and for seniors. 8. surfing, paddling, swimming and sunbathing 9. downtown area provides places to grab some grub siteseeing , and window shopping 10. couple hours of entertainment for the family or by yourself a strong 4.5 to 4.75 missing... beach firepits, water fountains and more shower spots closer to the beachfront .

We had such a wonderful time at Doheny State Beach! We came with our 3-year-old son and it was the perfect spot for a family day. The beach is clean, safe, and easy to access. The waves near the shore are gentle, which made it great for little ones to splash and play without us worrying. There are plenty of picnic areas with shade, which made snack time and breaks really comfortable. Our son loved running around in the sand and watching the surfers further out in the water. The bathrooms were well-kept and convenient to get to, which is always a huge plus with a toddler. We also appreciated the family-friendly atmosphere—lots of other kids and families enjoying the day, but it never felt overcrowded. It’s such a relaxed environment, and parking was simple too. We’ll definitely be coming back. Doheny State Beach is now one of our go-to spots for a safe, fun, and stress-free beach day with our little one! 🌊☀️👶
Brian M — Google review
We stopped there during our morning walk to the beach, and while used to the coastline beaches, we really enjoyed our time here. Besides being conveniently located within Dana point, it has a decent surf spot, highly frequented though and a few good amenities (picnic area, toilets…) - there is also a large paid parking in case you drive down there.
Guillaume B — Google review
Beautiful beach, clean, safe and easily accessible. The waves are not too strong and there are some volley ball courts on the smaller side of the beach. Picnic tables are on the lawn side. Great spot!
Maud C — Google review
There is a lot to love about this beach. Super clean restrooms, easy access to the cafe, loads of picnic tables and bbq pits, and more. We absolutely loved our time here and will be coming back. The only knock is the beach is very rocky if you plan to get into the water you need booties.
James R — Google review
Beautiful clean place. The staff here is on the money when it comes to keeping the areas maintained along with the people. No craziness here. Everyone kept to themselves and maintained a great environment for everyone
Victor J — Google review
Spent the night in my van at the campground. I had a doctors appointment in Laguna and instead of driving home, hour and a half, I spent the night and metal detected. I had a front row, closest to the water, about $75. Worth every penny. I managed to get about $3 back metal detecting 😂😂 _/🚶🏽.

Salt Creek Beach is a picturesque sandy beach in Dana Point, South Orange County. It's a popular spot for surfing and swimming, with its small offshore reef creating excellent swells. The beach offers stunning views of the coastline and Catalina Island. Visitors can enjoy walking along the bluffs or exploring the scenic tide pools located south of the main beach. Additionally, there's a boardwalk that stretches from The Strand to Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach, providing ample space for relaxation and group gatherings.
Super clean and beautiful beach that has a large and cheap parking lot. Came here for sunset and it did not disappoint. There is a nice grass hill as well if you do not want to watch the sunset on the grass. The waves were large and the sand very soft. There were lots of people just chilling, walking around, and playing sports.
Shawn S — Google review
This is a beautiful hidden beach. You park in a large lot off PCH and take a walk downhill. First you go through a tunnel. On the other side is a large grassy are with picnic tables, BBQ, and a basket ball court. After going down some stairs you will see the snack bar. Off to one side are showers, the other side are the restrooms. The beach is just below. The beach is small and beautiful. They have lifeguards here too. There's BBQ"s on the beach area too. This is a great place to spend the day.

Great beach Parking can get busy on the weekends Great patch of grass to lay out w/ shade from the palm trees
Alex H — Google review
An absolutely beautiful, magnificent beach, one of the most beautiful beach I’ve ever seen 😀
Raoul — Google review
Went to this beach for the first time. Absolutely beautiful. The walk from the parking lot down to the beach was a little long and downhill but so worth it. Idk if it was because it was during the week but it was not crowded and plenty of parking. There is a large grassy area. The walk back up hauling stuff was a pain so be prepared. We took a wagon and an ice chest with wheels which I would highly recommend. My sister-in-law did say on weekends it does get packed so plan to get there early.

Me and my group stopped here to check it out and go to the restroom. They were very welcoming and happily invited us inside. They had many little exibits, each with their own information about the land and animals around them. Many fun kid activities. The is a trail path that you can walk to find animal information and have an amazing very of the ocean. It's a silent and calming place to hang out, and very clean. 10/10
Whoisme45YT — Google review
Perfect for toddlers, but not stroller kids as the path is sandy and narrow. The area has guarded pathway which is not for extreme hiking or trail running. I liked the interpretive nature path for having a chill way to get amazing views of the marina and Pacific. It was a great investment of 1.5 hours.
J L — Google review
Beautiful place for a hike! We arrive at 7:50am on a Saturday. As of right now, the trail through the preserve is open Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday from 8am-4pm. This is because the preserve is home to an endangered mouse, and the staff noticed it thrives during Covid closures. Understandable. No dogs on the trail for the same reason. There’s parking at the interpretive center as well as bathrooms, which were open before staff came, yay! The trail is all sand, so after our hike I had to bang the sand out of my shoes and socks. Just a heads up. The ocean view is gorgeous! We saw sea lions and pelicans. No whales, sadly. Definitely recommend bringing binoculars. There are several lookouts, and most of them have a bench to sit and enjoy the view.
Alison C — Google review
The sunset was so beautiful there I couldn't stop taking photos! It's a great trail to go on if you need some inspiration, meditation, or just want an excursion. I would definitely recommend this trail!
Fiona B — Google review
This is a cool little museum we stumbled onto. It's got some great info about Dana Points local marine life and wildlife. Including some huge whale bones, stuffed animals (taxidermy) and other interesting artifacts. They had free coloring pages for the kids. There's not an active docent but it's very small so you don't need a tour. We were the only ones there. There's also public bathrooms. There's some hiking trails with stunning views. They were closed when we went, I assume because of the rain. Its got an amazing view of the ocean from the parking lot! I think its a mist see just for the breathtaking views! We were just driving around exploring and found this little gem. Both the kids, ages 9 and 3 enjoyed the museum/nature center. We plan on visiting again for the views and hopefully a hike!

If you're looking for a serene beach experience, Dana Strands Beach is the place to be. Located in Dana Point, this picturesque beach offers warm air and uncrowded surf during the fall season. It's a popular spot for surfing, bodyboarding, and skimboarding due to its unique wave angles. Despite recent developments in the surrounding neighborhood, it still maintains its secluded charm.
Afternoon 3.9 mile walk. Beautiful coastal vistas. Easy access to the beach. Super Clean bathrooms, plenty of park benches, shade trees, paved sidewalks and stairs to beach. Parking was free.
D S — Google review
Great views, nice walking (whether on the beach or the paved walkway), and excellent scenery. There’s plenty of parking. Methinks that the steep grade from the parking area to the beach keeps it less crowded than it might otherwise be.
John Q — Google review
Nice kinda hidden beach away from all the busyness. I didn’t know this place existed haha! Parking lot available for Free, there is also street parking available. This beach has about three different entrances. The entrance we chose was to the left of the parking as you are facing the beach. A good amount of stairs and a few ramps. This was a Saturday (Labor Day Weekend) around 9 am. Parking lot was about 40% full, definitely a good surprise! The beach is well maintained and clean. You can fish by the rocks and spear fishing. Plenty of space to set up an umbrella and relax. We did not go into the water, just walked the beach. A good 3-4 miles up and down I believe. Maybe more with the stairs. There are bathrooms available, clean ones. Live guards onsite also! Definitely recommended! Just be prepared for the stairs going down to the beach. I’m not sure how the other entrances are!
J G — Google review
This is a really good beach for a a good amount of people I believe. First off parking lot on top of the cliff. Really good view of the ocean and cliffs. You could walk down the stairs and see some really nice homes like 14-15 million homes. You can't drive there though. And you go through the residential place. You'll see signs and sidewalks and then you'll walk onto the beach if you like. Now this beach is very beautiful. It's one of my first beaches growing up here. I would go hang out and watch The Good surfers from trestles or strands. It's more for experience. Not like professional but could experience during the winter surfing time 5-7ft Versus doheny Beach on the other side of the cliff where the waves rolling in around 3 ft- 5 ft. Beautiful landscaping on the homes and just a good time. Everyone's happy here it seems like.
Jesse V — Google review
This is a nice beach which is a strip of sand and some nice views, and is not crowded as it is quite long. There is also a path along most of the beach's length.

Dana Strand Beach has been our go-to summer spot since the 1990s. Its pristine sands, crystal-clear waters, and serene atmosphere make it the perfect destination for a relaxing day by the ocean. Our family loves spending time here, whether it's soaking up the sun, playing in the waves, or taking leisurely walks along the shoreline. One of our favorite traditions is enjoying lunch at the nearby Ritz Carlton after a fun-filled morning at the beach. The luxury and quality of the Ritz Carlton dining experience never disappoints, providing a delightful contrast to the casual beach vibe. The stunning views from the Ritz, coupled with their exquisite cuisine, create unforgettable family memories. Dana Strand Beach is also great for walking, jogging, and exercising. The long stair steps at both ends of the beach offer a fantastic workout with a view. This combination of natural beauty and physical activity makes our visits even more enjoyable. Dana Strand Beach holds a special place in our hearts, offering a perfect blend of natural beauty and convenient amenities. It's a cherished destination for our family, and we highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fantastic beach experience.

ACCESSIBILITY IS HORRIBLE. If you have kids please DONT come here. The elevator was closed, and thus they offered a shuttle thats only runs on Sat & Sun's and doesnt allow kids without car seat under 8 yrs old (see pics of sign). Then the shuttle drops you at a place that has another set of stairs! Unbelievable... Most parents and elderly have a wagon or stroller or wheelchair that requires accessibility with a proper pathway. The Strands beach wasted our entire Sunday afternoon i will never return, even if elevator gets fixed. 😤😫 Its not lively and mostly just the immediate locals visit there. Doheny Beach, Salt Creek beach and others around the area are so beautiful, enjoyable, and they have proper access to the beach for all to enjoy. Go to these beaches instead! 👍❤️

Baby Beach, also known as Dana Point Harbor Beach, is a tranquil cove located within Dana Point Harbor. The beach offers calm and shallow waters, making it an ideal spot for toddlers to play without the worry of strong waves. Visitors can enjoy watching sailboats and stand-up paddleboarders from the shore while taking in the picturesque surroundings. Adjacent to Baby Beach is the Ocean Institute, where guests can delve into ocean-related knowledge, and nearby Dana Cove Park boasts scenic views with its rugged cliffs.
We love this place. Has a great protected sandy beach with fine sand, no rocks or pebbles. They have a clean bathroom next to the beach and a grassy area where several covered benches and barbecue facilities. Not far away is the Ocean Science Center where you can go inside and view the displays and fish tanks. And just beyond that is the actual peninsula with tide pools, breakwater, and a view out into the open Pacific Ocean. If you are adventurous, there are caves that are exposed during low tide past the tide pools. Back to the beach, there are lots of families enjoying the facilities and pick nicking on the grass or on the beach. Lots of kids playing and enjoying the sun. You will see lots of people walking the concrete paths running along the wharfs and down the beach. It is truly a beautiful place to power walk or just enjoy the clean breeze of the Pacific Ocean.

Baby Beach is a charming, kid-approved spot with gentle water, good facilities, and close harbor amenities. It’s perfect for families or anyone wanting a calm day by the water.
T C — Google review
The beach has potential and is great for kids — the water is calm with no strong waves, making it safe for little ones to play. However, it’s really disappointing to see what looks like sewage being dumped into the water by nearby boats. The sand is dark and has an unpleasant sewage smell, which completely ruins the experience. This place could be beautiful if properly cleaned and regulated. I hope the authorities step in to fix it.
Ryan M — Google review
GREAT for small kids! There are no waves so I had no fear of my little one getting thrown about or pulled in the deep water. The beach also had a safety line for swimmers not to pass and was at a shallow level. My 5 yr old could be at this safety line and still be above water. The fire boat also came and hosed everyone, it was great. I would get there early for parking though. I got there by 10 am and luckily got the last spot in the furthest parking area.

Nestled in Dana Point, California, Monarch Beach Golf Links is a picturesque and highly regarded 18-hole championship golf course that spans over 6,600 yards. Designed by the renowned architect Robert Trent Jones Jr., this award-winning course offers stunning ocean views and a relaxing atmosphere for golf enthusiasts. The Spanish Links-themed layout features lush green pastures and challenging fairways and bunkers.
Beautiful and challenging golf course. The staffs were awesome from pro shop valet to first tee. The only downside is that there wasn't any driving range but other than that, everything was perfect. I'm surprised that the course condition was much better than trump national, which is way $$$. I'll definitely come back

I’ve played all across the country in Monarch Beach has to be close to the top of the list. The facilities were immaculate. The staff was incredible from the pro shop manager, helping me find my size of shirt to the bag staff getting us set up on our carts. The service was amazing. The golf course itself was pristine and offered both challenges and opportunities to score. The back nine was so pretty and fun to play on the ocean. I highly recommend this and if I’m back in Southern California, I will definitely be back to play Monarch again!
Jason C — Google review
The grand and splendid entrance, the valet's warm greeting, the well-maintained fairway and green, the beautiful ocean view - especially the view from the 3rd hole -, the detailed facility usage instructions and warm words from the person in charge at the starting point were great, and the sunset in the afternoon was really beautiful. The pride of the local resident members in their golf course was also impressive.
Hantaek L — Google review
The course had a great view, especially the ocean views on the first nine holes. However, the younger, tall, and skinny guy in the pro shop was very rude and disrespectful. He found out we had booked for nine holes and insisted that we only play nine. He warned us that we could be kicked out if we played more. I’m not sure where this kind of discrimination is coming from, maybe race? Before we started, I heard him using his headset to ask another guy to keep an eye on us. He did so during our play, and the guy showed up multiple times to ask us to make sure we only played nine holes. I don’t understand why he would do this. I know some people play more than nine holes, but how can you assume that? On the other hand, the other older guy in the pro shop was very nice.
Dingran W — Google review
About a two-hour drive from LA, this resort golf course is part of a beautiful resort setting. Along the way, you might see joggers passing by, and on several holes you tee off and hit your second shot with the ocean in view. One short left dogleg par 4, where you have to keep your tee shot under 200 yards, remains one of the most memorable holes in my mind.
MAX K — Google review
The course itself is absolutely beautiful and very well maintained. Unfortunately, our experience was negatively impacted by poor player etiquette and how the situation was handled. During our round, a single player hit into our group while we were on the green (par 3). Multiple groups, not just ours, raised concerns. When confronted, this player became hostile. A marshal eventually stepped in to de-escalate, but we were surprised that the disruptive player was allowed to continue. Given the seriousness of the behavior, we expected a stronger response. To make matters worse, the single’s observer (a female companion) was also hitting balls despite not being a paying golfer, which raised the question of whether others could do the same. At one point towards the end, she even yelled threats and insults toward me while driving to the wrong tee box (lol). This was unacceptable and could have been avoided had the situation been properly addressed from the beginning. We drove nearly two hours to play this course and left with a sour impression. For a course of this caliber and at $350 a round, I expected both the players and staff to uphold higher standards.

Nature & Parks
Pines Park, located in Dana Point, is a picturesque public park perched on a bluff with stunning views of Capistrano Beach. Families flock to this charming spot during the summer months to enjoy its shaded play structure and day-use picnic areas equipped with bench seating and barbecue grills. The park's history can be discovered amidst the anachronistic pine grove and remnants of the former Capistrano Beach Club.
I spotted this park one Monday morning while driving to school and thought, “I should visit this place.” The following Saturday, I brought my family here, and they absolutely loved it. It’s a charming little park that seems to cater to the nearby residents, but visitors are welcome too! Parking is convenient, with spaces easily found near the curb. The park offers a beautiful view of the beach and has a lovely atmosphere, perfect for a relaxing day out. There's also a playground right next to it, which makes it a great spot for families. We had a wonderful time, and it’s definitely a place worth revisiting!

On a peaceful Sunday afternoon, we visited Capistrano Beach, where I enjoyed a relaxing walk to Palisades Gazebo Park and Pines Park. Pines Park is a small park on a hill where people like to relax and enjoy the ocean view. A quiet, scenic spot—well worth the stop.

Pine 🌲 park is indescribable beautiful place. It’s located 4 minutes by car from the 405 highway 🛣️ at Dana Pointe. Although the park has many pinches, it’s more convenient to bring your own chairs for more setting choices. Parking is free along the adjacent street.

What a wonderful space. If you are in the area, stop by and read a book, let your kids play or just enjoy the cool ocean breeze.
Monty M — Google review
i generally enjoyed this park as it seemed it is cut or in two separate sections. it has one side with a playground and more of a grassy area for kids to play and run around in. the other part that i liked more was flat with benches and over looking the ocean. although, i will be honest with the review being 2 stars because it could be a lot better in a lot of ways but i know there was a section under construction. there was a fence which was broken which could be dangerous and there is also a huge dirt patch with "no trespassing" signs posted all around which i feel they should implement or add to the park but if it's not possible then they should put bushes or something in front of the fencing for a better scenic view of the ocean. there is also not a designated parking lot so some of the people living there will watch you while you park and walk over to the park across the street.

Lantern Bay Park is a charming hilltop park that offers breathtaking views of Dana Point Harbor and Doheny State Beach. It's open to the public daily during daylight hours, making it a popular spot for family gatherings, picnics, and barbecues. The park features plenty of pine trees providing shade on warm days, along with a children's playground and a grassy area for relaxation and pick-up sports.
Great place to relax or get some cardio in. Hike the trails or do Yoga. There's a picnic area with tables and plenty of shade. Take in the scenery because you're looking over and out towards the Pacific coast.

It was my first time visiting this park, and I found it to be beautiful, with stunning views overlooking the harbor. The park features bathrooms and a sitting area with a grill, making it a perfect spot for picnics and relaxing on the lovely lawn. I definitely recommend it! The only drawback is the parking situation; you have to park on the street.

One of my top 3 spots in Dana point. Def one of my go tos when I need to Revv down and soak in Gods beautiful creation. Helps me to appreciate the simplicity of life and all I have to be thankful for. The views are breath taking and the cool breeze does wonders for my soul. Sometimes I will walk here in the morning as the sun breaks and it just takes my breath away (cue the Berlin song!). I plan to propose here to my future wife. Shhhh… don’t tell her ;) lmao. Thankful for the spot. There is a decent bathroom and a few parking spots here. You can walk down to the beach or harbor from here and get ur steps in ;)

A great place for a pic-nic, relax in the grassy areas under the shade of numerous trees or to practice yoga overlooking the Dana Point Harbor and blue Pacific Ocean.

Views are beautiful, bathrooms clean, grass nice- playground small for my 8, 9, 11 year olds, but littles would probably stay busy longer. Our kids were happy to play in the grass and watch the boats come in.

Stunning coastal views, park benches, vast lawn, groves of trees. Dog-friendly, with bocce court, kids playground, picnic tables, bbq and bathrooms. Limited parking adjacent to park with more available in the lot towards the bottom of the hill which is great for those who can walk it. Adjacent parking usually unavailable during yoga sessions in the park.

Mission San Juan Capistrano, a landmark Spanish mission founded in 1776, is a must-visit for anyone interested in California's rich history. With historic exhibits, cultural events, and a gift shop, the site welcomes over 350,000 visitors annually. The mission was originally founded by Saint Junipero Serra and features a museum, gift shop, cafe, and an iconic bell wall that is still rung daily.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Mission at San Juan Capistrano The Mission at San Juan Capistrano is hands-down one of the most romantic venues in California. Its history and architecture bring so much character to every wedding. The aged stone walls, grand arches, and blooming gardens are a photographer’s dream. There’s a sense of timeless beauty here that makes every couple’s gallery feel both historic and personal. It’s the kind of place where love stories become art. ✨ If you’re drawn to the beauty of San Juan Capistrano, I’d be honored to capture your wedding in such an extraordinary setting.

Alright California!! This Place is Cali Gold. The Historic Value of this place is Second to None. There is so Much History in its relationship to the Development of California. The grounds are very very well kept and the Guided tour is a must to get the most out of this Mission. Visit the Chapel on sight and the Ruins of the Original Chapel. Wow it's incredible. Great for Photos, a Date Day, and exploring for the whole family. Don't miss it. It's incredible and a must see for everyone!

We had the opportunity to photograph S & K's first look at Mission San Juan Capistrano, and it was truly a dream setting for capturing timeless portraits. From the soft stone textures to the iconic arches and bell wall, every corner of the Mission offered a stunning visual backdrop. The light was beautiful throughout the day, filtered, warm, and natural, ideal for both candid and editorial shots. There’s a peaceful, historic charm to the space that elevated the emotional energy of the first look, creating a moment that felt private, sacred, and cinematic. We would highly recommend the Mission to couples looking for a location that combines California history, natural beauty, and elegant architecture. It’s a gem for storytelling. — Anastasia

Mission San Juan Capistrano is one of my favorite places to visit because it holds a lot of fond memories for me. There have been many changes to the mission - especially after the pandemic. The East Gate is no longer open. You have to go through the tour to get into the original chapel. This was the side entrance we used to enter through when we went to Sunday morning Mass as a family. I love that the original Serra Chapel is still intact so visitors can marvel at the intricate details of the altar, handpainted walls, wooden pews, and the St. Peregrine Chapel. The grounds are also well-maintained and I especially love every bit of Mission San Juan Capistrano. Some of the newer things I liked was how they cleaned up the fountain and added koi fish. Overall, I love MSJC and how much of its history is preserved to this day. It’s a beautiful site to visit and to pray. I also always end my visits with a trip to their gift shop. The ladies who work there are wonderful.
Wendy L — Google review
What a beautiful, well maintained mission! Although there is now a fee to enter, it’s well worth the price. You can spend an hour or a day just walking the gardens and visiting the chapel. At the exit, there is a church store fulled with books, cards, collectibles, and other artifacts. It’s a fun outing! We are glad we took the time to visit!

This is such a beautiful mission. My kids had a fun time walking/running around and exploring. We were on vacation for my son’s Birthday and they gave us a discounted price because of that ❤️ Some of the areas were not easily accessible with our stroller - so my husband and I had to lift the stroller and carry it up the stairs to get around to the area on the path (the walkway was blocked due to set up for an event). Thankfully we could do that. We probably spent about 2 hours here. I do want to revisit with my kids and see the things we didn’t spend much time looking at. There is plenty of parking around - outside you just have to drive around to find it.
Jessica H — Google review
This is a beautiful and well taken care of Mission. Lots of stories told here about the indigenous people and how this Mission was successful and created things for trade. This place takes you back in time and explains the story of the swallow. I live in the area now and bring friends here to enjoy the beauty!

From the moment you walk, it exudes history. The landscaping throughout is lively and inspiring. Definitely gave me some ideas for my outdoor garden. Dog friendly, except inside exhibits. Preservation is top notch. Very clean grounds and not as packed as I expected it to be since it was Father's Day. Free audio guides available too! You learn a lot about history. I really enjoyed the church! It was jaw dropping.

Had a great trip on the Catalina Express! The staff is very friendly and helpful. The journey is 90 minutes and costs $100 each way. If you have a dog they will need to wear a muzzle, muzzles can be purchased at the ship boarding area for about $15. The ship is very clean. You may want to arrive about an hour early if you want to have the first choice at seats, but arriving on time is fine too. Catalina is a beautiful island with a lot of fun activities. Recommend!

Had a wonderful time visiting Catalina Island. We went over to the island to celebrate my father-in-law‘s birthday, wanted to do something unique that he’s never done before. We bought our tickets and even our parking permit online and it all went perfectly without a hitch. Both the ride to, and from was smooth and uneventful, on the way back it was even relaxing. One tip, get there early so that you can sit upstairs and inside. It is smoother, quieter, and on a chilly day much warmer. Thank you, Catalina express for helping us makeFernando’s birthday super special. We are looking forward to our next trip.

Nice ferry to Catelina. The ramp onto the boat in Dana Point (and off for the return trip) along with the step to get into the lower cabin could be better accommodated for people with wheelchairs. Having dedicated seating at the door on the side would be nice too as that is where there is space for mobility equipment. Staff were excellent and helpful.

Great ride. Well done and organized. Staff is very attentive to needs of passengers. The only complaint I have is I bought a bag of pretzels, two huge candy bars and a water and expected to break the $15 dollar mark. No, $7 and I got it all. I expected a better effort to gouge me for my money. They were actually reasonably priced. Note! Make sure you reserve your place and get there about an hour before you leave. If you do, your trip will be twice as good. Plus! YOU'RE GOING TO CATALINA ISLAND! HAPPY SAILING!

Dana Point Bluff Top Trail is a picturesque cliffside walking trail featuring paved pathways and a boardwalk, providing stunning panoramic coastal views. The trail, located between Street of the Amber Lantern and Street of the Violet Lantern at El Camino Capistrano, offers historical points of interest and several lookout spots. One notable highlight is an archway with romantic allure, originating from the foundation of a planned hotel by Sidney Woodruff.
During my recent visit to the Dana Point Bluff Top Trail, I was thoroughly impressed by this hidden gem nestled above the harbor. Despite its modest length of approximately 0.2 miles, the trail offers breathtaking panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean and Dana Point Harbor. The well-maintained path is adorned with historical markers, including the intriguing remnants of the 1920s Dana Point Inn arches, adding a unique charm to the experience. The trail is easily accessible, with free street parking available on Amber Lantern Street, though it's advisable to check for street sweeping schedules.

Not only were they flawless in their operation of the vessel, they were 2 of the most kind, funny, & welcoming host you will find anywhere. I think most of everyone on board were nervous to some degree & these gentlemen worked to put us at ease from the moment we stepped aboard. Nestled in the Lantern District of Dana Point, Coastal Kitchen is a modern and vibrant restaurant that offers a diverse menu featuring sandwiches, steak, and New American entrees. Helmed by Chef Andrew Palma, the restaurant prides itself on its fresh, locally-inspired dishes. Notably, their filet mignon is a standout item, prepared with precision and served alongside delectable sides. The bright and airy atmosphere makes it an ideal spot for beach enthusiasts.
I had a wonderful dining experience at Coastal Kitchen. The atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and perfect for a relaxing meal. The staff was friendly and attentive throughout, and our server Greg was especially fantastic—professional, cheerful, and genuinely helpful. We tried several dishes, including the Clam Chowder, Grilled Chicken Caesar Salad, and Salmon. Everything was delicious and perfectly cooked. The salads were fresh and flavorful, with a great balance of ingredients. I also appreciated that the kitchen was flexible and allowed us to make small customizations to our orders, which made the experience even better. The service was fast and efficient without feeling rushed, and every dish was served with care and great presentation. Overall, Coastal Kitchen exceeded my expectations. Some of the best food/seafood I’ve had in Orange County. We enjoyed every bite of everything we ordered, and had multiple “I think that was the best _____ I’ve ever had” moments (shrimp cocktail and butter cake with hot fudge were the two biggest hits). Beyond the food though, the service was truly top-tier. Food came out within minutes of ordering, we were constantly refreshed and checked up on by our amazing server Kelly, and she graciously entertained our request to try half a dozen sauces from all sorts of dishes to truly take our experience to the next level. Will absolutely be coming back any time I want to take friends/family to enjoy an upscale, delicious meal

From the moment we walked in, we were warmly welcomed by our server Courtney, who was incredibly friendly, attentive, and helpful—she made our visit feel extra special. We took her recommendations and ordered the Ahi Tuna Salad and the Crispy Chicken Caesar, and wow… both dishes were phenomenal. The tuna was perfectly seared, fresh, and flavorful, and the salad that came with it was refreshing with great texture and balance. The crispy chicken was seasoned just right—tender inside, crunchy outside—and paired beautifully with the Caesar greens and quinoa. Everything—from the plating to the flavors—was spot on. And the sauce that came with the tuna? So good we could’ve had a whole bowl of it! This place exceeded our expectations, and thanks to Courtney, it truly felt like a Christmas treat. We’ll absolutely be back again and again. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a beautiful, relaxed lunch with quality food and genuine service.

If you’re looking for a place on the PCH with a dining room that says “classy” and a patio that says “I might never leave,” this is it. The Parker House rolls come drowning in golden brown butter and herbs—a bold move if your New Year’s resolution involved self-control. Sweet meets savory, and your diet quietly weeps. The Double Cut Pork Chop is so big it could have its own zip code. Juicy, tender, glazed with sweet fig, and perfect for anyone who skipped lunch…or breakfast…or possibly the last three days of meals. The Filet? Also delicious, perfectly tender, and generously portioned—because apparently moderation is for other restaurants. Baked potatoes arrive hotter than the surface of the sun and packed with all the “good stuff” your cardiologist warned you about. Service is friendly, the vibe is relaxed, and the dog-friendly patio means you can share your meal with your four-legged friend, or at least feel guilty while they stare at you for two hours. Five stars—come hungry, leave questioning your life choices in the best possible way.

I love this place. A little pricey, but as they say… you get what you pay for. And it’s worth it!! I go a few times a year as a treat and as a frugal guy it is hard to get my head around $48 crab cakes, but they are worth every penny penny! OMG… might be my last meal… huge chunks of Crab meat… taste like the ocean. I often get them as apps when dinning out at various seafood restaurants… these are the best I have ever had… I think they put them on the entree items just for me. 😁 Also, I dream about their Trout dip… Amazing! My only complaint is that parking sucks and I park two blocks away. But again, it is worth it!

Nature & Parks
Sea Terrace Community Park, also known as Sea Terrace Park, is a charming park located in Dana Point, California. It offers various facilities for visitors to enjoy a relaxing day out. The park features picnic areas with BBQ grills, open fields, and access to nearby bike trails and beaches. Additionally, it hosts events such as the Beachside Wine Festival and the Doheny Blues concert. Visitors can take leisurely walks along well-marked pathways while enjoying beautiful views of the surroundings.
This is my favorite park in South Orange County located on the oceanfront between the Ritz Carlton Hotel and the Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach Resort. It’s a very large park with miles of walking and biking trails along the coastline and east of Pacific Coast Highway with huge grassy areas to have a picnic and relax. The oceanfront park has a nice grass area that slopes down to the beach and is my favorite spot to watch the sunset and often times listening to live music coming from events at the neighboring Ritz Carlton Resort Hotel.

Nice clean park with lush green grass, picnic tables and there is a dog park at the top of the park. It is right next to the ocean and it is perfect on a good weather day. They have a central plant pit that is full of roses of every color, which is nice.

Clean park. It may be sunny but a good place for runners/walkers. Nice fields for pets.

Doheny Blues concert was excellent. Very easy access and tons of street parking very close to the venue less than four blocks away. Much better set up than when it was at Doheny State Beach. Best small festival any where. Bar none! The show is the same weekend every year. Is the weekend before Memorial Day weekend.

Very nice park to walk around. The trail loops around Salt Creek Beach on the other side of PCH. Pride of Madeira blooms in April are gorgeous!

Embark on an unforgettable adventure with Capt Dave's Dolphin & Whale Watching Safari, one of the top whale watching tour companies in Dana Point. Their year-round boat charters and public cruises offer glass-sided viewing pods and informative talks, providing a unique opportunity to witness the beauty of marine life. From gray whales migrating in the winter to blue whales in the spring, Dana Point is renowned as a prime location for whale watching.
We had a fabulous morning with Capt Jim & crew searching for dolphins & whales. The boat was clean & well maintained, and everyone was very friendly! Hannah did a great job sharing tips and insights on the dolphin in the area and it was obvious how much she loves doing this. She has a natural talent for speaking & keeping everyone engaged. Amanda was so enthusiastic about the search and spent a lot of time discussing local sea life with us. The whole experience was fun, easy, and well worth it!
Marpow03 — Google review
We had a fantastic time on our recent excursion. The crew was so much fun, and Hannah, especially was such a joy. Her enthusiasm and knowledge about the whales and dolphins made the trip even better. Seeing so many pods of dolphins and a Fin whale - priceless!

We were upgraded to the Orca for the 15th anniversary of my dad's passing and had an incredible experience! Captain Alex and Allan were so kind and knowledgeable, they made the entire excursion so memorable! The weather was gorgeous, the water was stunning, and we saw plenty of wildlife including dolphins, sea lions, mackerel and sardines. We come to Dana Point almost every year and love to book tours with Cap. Dave - they are always so accommodating, and their customer service is top notch! If you are in town, highly recommend booking with them! You won't be disappointed.

I was in town for work and had a day off to explore, so I found Captain Dave’s and decided to go for a boat tour. Captain Maria did a fabulous job taking us on a water adventure to find whales and dolphin pods. First mate Sopha was very knowledgeable on all the marine life. It was an enjoyable and much needed relaxing day on the water. Thank you to all the staff that made it happen. You also have to take the climb up to the top of the bluff, for the spectacular views of the marina. Highly recommended! ~ Carrie Ann Robinson

We booked the Zodiac speedy boat tour, and the entire safari was such an incredible experience! The smaller group size (around 10 people) made it feel personal and enjoyable. The ride itself was thrilling: fast enough to keep motion sickness at bay, and we were even able to stand at the front of the boat for the best views. We spotted many bottlenose dolphins and a few sea lions along the way at the 9:30am tour. Despite the gloomy weather at the start, our guide Safa and Captain Matt made the trip so welcoming, fun, and full of fascinating facts about marine life. Plus, we were treated to delicious homemade brownies from the captain himself! Thank you for such a memorable and well-run adventure. Highly recommended.

We had a great experience on the Allswell with Captain Kathy and First Mate Safa! They were very knowledgeable of the area, what was going on with the wildlife and all the trivia about marine life that we experienced on this trip. They were so kindhearted to stop and pull the Mylar balloons out of the water so no sea creatures have to fall victim to them! We got to see sea lions, common dolphins, and birds of all kinds. I would certainly recommend this duo for your whale watching adventure!

Ahoy there matey! We are on an ocean adventure. Capt Dave's Dolphin & Whale Safari is one of the highest-rated whale watching companies in Southern California, they offer year-round boat tours and educational whale. They're located at Dana Point harbor. We took a late morning tour with Capt Marie and XO Luke on their fastest boat. We went out to the sea for two hours and saw hundreds of Common Dolphins and Anchovies. The sea was a bit rough but worth it. The entire tour was very enjoyable and worth the price. Parking lot is available. Overall, I enjoyed the safari tour and seeing Dolphins up lose was surreal. I highly recommend them.

I had an absolutely amazing experience from start to finish! Captain Dave, Hannah, and Amanda were all fantastic—friendly, knowledgeable, and so passionate about what they do! They made the entire trip fun, informative, and memorable. We saw tons of 2 different kinds of dolphins swimming right alongside the boat. It was truly breathtaking! The boat was clean, comfortable, and felt very safe the whole time. You can tell this crew genuinely loves sharing this experience with us guests. I'm so grateful for this day! Highly recommend this excursion—you won’t be disappointed! I can't wait to come back 🐬🩵

Frisby Cellars Winery, situated at the picturesque Dana Point Harbor, is a must-visit for wine enthusiasts. This charming tasting room showcases exquisite wines crafted from Paso Robles grapes, all blended and bottled at their Lake Forest Urban Winery. Guests can savor delightful wine flights featuring six exceptional selections while enjoying light bites of cheese and meats. The inviting atmosphere boasts vaulted ceilings and unique wine barrel tables that add to the experience.
Had the best time tasting wine with an old school friend. Shaylee the hostess was amazing. Friendly, very knowledgeable about the wine and she suggested to do the wine tasting. On Mondays they do 2 for 1 wine testing. For the both of us it was $20 and we got to taste 6 wines from a list that Shaylee gave us. We purchased a small charcuterie board which was delicious and of course went very well with our wines. We ordered another glass of wine at the cost of $5 as Monday is Happy Hour all day

She was professional friendly and shared her wide knowledge of wine with us. We had a wonderful time Thank you for a wonderful memory Shay.

The two bartenders on Nov 6, 2025 were absolutely amazing. I feel bad for not learning their names, but it was a male and female and they taught us more about wine than we have learned at any winery. Great service, great conversation, and the beer was incredible. Right on the water and great food. We loved it. Used to be Waterman's and is something better now. Go there! Enjoy!

This has to be hands-down my most favorite place for wine flights. I had seen this shop coming off the ferry and am glad I was able to make it back for an evening wine tasting. I had asked which is the driest wine and the lovely female team member mentioned everything is dry - what a delight! She kindly walked me through my options and I went for the $20 for 6 flight samples. I was blown away by all the samples I had tried, perhaps it was partial to Frisby's style of dry wines. It was one of the highlights in Dana Point, fantastic wine, great personable ambiance, and both team members tonight were remarkable in making the experience - thank-you!

this tasting room is on the pier and tucked into the plaza next to a very popular fish shop called Jon's fish market. We were drawn in by the 5 star rating and we had the specific intention of wine tasting this afternoon. The food menu is minimal if you follow a low carb diet (only olives and then lots of flatbreads/crackers on offer). We went with a white wine flight that - $20 - for approx 2 oz pours. Really great variety of whites and bc we didn't feel enticed by anything on food menu for pairing, they actually invited us to bring food over from Jon's. So that's what we did. Plus ordered their olives. YUMMM. After the tasting I went for a glass of Chardonnay. Great service! Super friendly and knowledgeable. Note: During our particular visit (Saturday afternoon), lots of loud families (kids) so def different vibe of your traditional wine bar, but def still worth a visit and taste of the wines! There were no tasting that I fully disliked - all really good - which says A LOT! Def recommend!

This is a great little find of a winery tasting room on the wharf. Apparently they make their wine in Lake Forest, California and source their grapes from Paso Robles. My wife and I had several varieties, she thought the Grenache Rose was pretty tasty and my 2019 Viognie is quite well made. We tried a few reds they were definitely serviceable. People are friendly and they have little snacks and food to eat here I would definitely return!

Great down-to-earth yoga community! It’s so nice to have the option of outdoor (park) yoga or in-studio classes. All of the instructors are excellent.
Sandy L — Google review
The instructors, Danielle, Marissa, and Maggie, are consistently kind, capable, and genuinely invested in each student’s growth. Maggie, in particular, has a rare ability to challenge and support at the same time — she somehow knows exactly when to nudge you a little further and when to help you find calm in the middle of all that effort. Her adjustments are subtle but incredibly effective; they make me feel more confident exploring my own limits without pushing beyond what feels right. And just when I start taking myself too seriously, Maggie’s humor sneaks in — a quick comment or a smile that instantly lightens the pressure and reminds me why I’m there. It’s the perfect mix of strength, mindfulness, and humanity — I always leave feeling grounded, capable, and a little more at peace.

I stumbled upon this wonderful yoga studio when I was on vacation here in Dana Point. I signed up easy peasy through their website for a drop in class and enjoyed it very much. From the moment I arrived I felt welcomed and cared for, the instructors are so kind, they really want you to have a great experience. Through my vacation I attended two in-studio classes and one “yoga in the park” which was quite spectacular and was a highlight of my vacation, I enjoyed it so much. David and Marissa are the two instructors I had the pleasure of working with and I can’t wait to return to this incredible yoga studio the next time I’m in town. This place truly nourishes my soul! Elsa also reached out to me via text and made sure I was comfortable and could get in touch with them if I had any questions. If I lived in this area I would absolutely be a monthly subscriber which I feel is a very good value. If you are looking for a yoga studio in the Dana Point area, iheartyoga is an excellent choice that you will really enjoy! Their yoga studio windows that look right onto the lovely harbor was also a bonus that I just loved.

GREAT vibes here. Come as you are, all the instructors are encouraging and helpful. Their customer service was incredible. Nice Hawaiian themed breakfast place in Point close to the harbor. Parking on the street is scarce so you have to park upstairs and take the stairs down. The menu is pretty nice. The food was good at this place, the waiting line was like 20-30 min. The parking is next to the building. When you park get down by the stairs and it takes you directly to the place. The environment is nice, music not loud, good to talk. The reason I give 4 stars is because of the cashier she wasn't paying attention, I asked for macadamia pancakes but she didn't put it on the order, we have to reorder and waste.more time because of the time. We are shorter on time sometimes because of work, and visiting places like this will be amazing if they can save us time.

Nestled in South Laguna, 1000 Steps Beach is a popular spot for surfing, sunbathing, and volleyball. Despite its name, the staircase to the beach actually consists of only 218 steps. Locals often use it as a workout spot due to its popularity. The beach itself is wide and beautiful with stunning coastal views and a tranquil atmosphere. It's framed by dramatic cliffs and offers a sense of serenity away from the crowds.
If you are looking for a hidden gem along the coast, Thousand Steps Beach is an absolute must-visit! I went there in April and was blessed with perfect weather — sunshine, a gentle breeze, and that magical light you only get on rare days. The beach itself is breathtaking: secluded, peaceful, and absolutely stunning. You access it by descending a long staircase (about 200 steps, not really 1000!), which feels like the start of a little adventure. Don’t worry — the climb back up is manageable and totally worth it. Highlights: - The Grottos: This was easily the highlight of my visit. At low tide, you can explore the mesmerizing caves on the left side of the beach. If you venture through, you’ll even reach another hidden beach — a real secret paradise! - Crystal-clear water and soft sand make it ideal for relaxing, swimming, or just soaking in the beauty. - Facilities: There’s a shower and a toilet down by the beach (only one each, but it wasn’t crowded at all during my visit). - Parking: Street parking is available at the top — it might get tricky during peak times, but in my case, it was easy and stress-free. - Sunsets: If you can, stay for sunset! The colors are unforgettable, and it’s one of the best places to watch the sun dip into the ocean. - Timing Tip: Visit at low tide if you want to explore the caves safely — and check tide charts beforehand. It’s an amazing spot for photography, quiet reflection, romantic walks, and of course, adventure if you love discovering hidden natural beauty. I genuinely had the perfect day and would come back again without hesitation. Highly recommend for nature lovers, photographers, and anyone who wants a slice of paradise without the crowds!

I was a little nervous to visit at first, but I’m so glad I did, it was absolutely worth it! The views are stunning, truly some of the best I’ve ever seen. Photos don’t do it justice. The people are friendly, and the sound of the waves is so calming. I wish I lived nearby so I could come more often. This place is a hidden gem, I highly recommend visiting if you get the chance!

This beach is not that crowded compared to other SoCal beaches, and to access it, park at the hospital, but only on weekends. The beach is quite nice, has some tidepools and caves at both ends, and has some high waves perfect for bodysurfing. Also the beach is accessible by going down the 212-ish stairs to the beach, and the water and beach here seems more cleaner than other socal beaches.
LC 4 — Google review
The stairs keep the crowds away! There are a LOT of them. Definitely not 1000 but lots. It's easier to go down then come up. There is a lifeguard on duty and bathrooms at the bottom. Parking is TRICKY but it's well worth it. The beach is absolutely beautiful and it's clean and the water is so pretty. It wasn't crowded at all.
Jacque — Google review
I had the pleasure of photographing a senior portrait session at Thousand Steps Beach. While this beach is a popular spot, it's not always my first recommendation for those traveling specifically for a photo shoot due to the crowds. However, it's an excellent option if you're already staying in one of the beautiful nearby homes. Despite the crowded conditions, the photo shoot was spectacular, and we captured some truly stunning images. If you're considering this location, I highly recommend visiting during the off-season in winter to avoid the crowds and have a more intimate experience. For any senior, family, or wedding photography needs, I'm available to help you find the perfect backdrop and capture beautiful memories, whether at Thousand Steps or one of the many other incredible beaches in the area.

First time coming here and it all starts with 1000 steps down!!!!…. Actually not that many, it’s more like 200-250 steps but they call it to make people prep for the beautiful view that that can see from the shoreline! If you are around, it’s worth the try going down there! BUT, there’s only one bathroom so if there are many people you have to wait for good long time like I did… good 30 mins waiting just to pee :( so I just suggest to go to the restroom before coming here or just go to nature :p Overall, I had a good time spending time here but ironically waiting for bathroom was longer than seeing the ocean view… yet still it’s worth it! So go visit! Enjoy the steps and the ocean view! Cheers 🥂
Mr. D — Google review
The steep stairway down may seem intimidating at first, but once you reach the bottom, you’re rewarded with stunning ocean views, dramatic cliffs, and soft sand stretching along the shore. The waves crash with a calming rhythm, and the whole place has a secluded, almost secret vibe. It’s the kind of spot where you can just sit back, breathe in the sea air, and lose track of time.
Stephanie T — Google review
Awesome beach! If youre driving in, the parking is limited out on the road, so go early. Starts with a couple of hundred steps down. Which wasn't bad. Beach is beautiful and waves were active. -John Wayne's house sits here and believe it's a rental - Beautiful scenery - there was water access to clean feet - was a bathroom, but was locked, so not sure on availability - nice shopping and restaurants not far away Definitely recommend visiting if youre in the area

This laid-back deli offers a variety of high-quality goods, from coffee and artisan sandwiches to baked goods and ice cream treats. Situated near the marina, it provides a perfect setting to enjoy your meal with picturesque views.
Love, love love this place. It’s right on the harbor with incredible views of the boats. You get a lot of food. I ordered the sunrise bagel with onions and bell peppers and bacon delicious and huge! Service was speedy. They are set up for scale. Kitchen looked clean and efficient. Seating outside is excellent

Great local cafe within the heart of Dana Point Harbor. They offer delicious Bagel Sandwiches with hefty portions. There might be a wait in the morning, but the line was fairly quick and all the workers were very friendly and helpful. The view of the harbor is beautiful and the seating area is also dog friendly. There were many cute dogs out when we went, walking around the harbor (on leash). Highly recommend for you to visit here for a nice breakfast/brunch or lunch! Next door with the same company, they also offer ice cream- we stopped by there later after sunset and it was also lovely.

Coffee Importers at Dana Point was such a fun stop for us. We went for desserts and it did not disappoint! The desserts were superb—fresh, tasty, and just what we were hoping for. Pair that with the great service and it made for a really enjoyable visit. What really adds to the whole experience is the setting. Being right at the harbor makes it extra special. You get that relaxing coastal vibe while enjoying something sweet, and it’s just fun all around. The atmosphere is upbeat, and you can tell it’s a place people love coming back to. If you’re in the area, it’s definitely worth checking out. Between the service, the desserts, and that perfect harbor backdrop, you can’t go wrong. I’d gladly go back again and again. This serves some of the best coffee. I ordered the orange mocha which was really nice. It's Borgia Espresso, hot chocolate, orange extract, topped with whipped cream. However my order was without whipped cream that they immediately fixed and gave me a fresh one. The staff esp Katie was very nice.

Nice spot at the marina. The oatmeal bowl with Greek yogurt was decent. The way it was served was a little weird, with you having to mix it and not enough yogurt. Berries were good. The lox bagel my buddy had was good. The fresh juices were ok. Overall, a bit overpriced in my opinion.
CK P — Google review
Did not enjoy my time here. The layout of this business is insane! Two separate registers to order from on completely opposite ends of an extremely narrow lobby filled with people. No direction or flow whatsoever. The service was nice. Employee who took my order was kind, helpful and patient with questions! Overall, most of the staff seemed very friendly which was nice. Now the food. I ordered the breakfast burrito with bacon. It was not good at all on any sort of scale. First off, it was nuked to high hell! I understand wanting to be able to serve your food hot, but this was on fire! After my first bite, my mouth was charred to death and my taste buds melted like a stick of unsalted butter on the sun. Instantly ruined my morning. After I battled the temperature, I was hoping for a flavorful experience and I was met with something far worse. Flavorless eggs, flavorless bacon, flavorless potatoes, flavorless cheese. Unreal. The tortilla served as a vessel to deliver a bundle of flavorless mush without any distinguishable traits to the different ingredients right into my mouth. Anyways wouldn’t recommend

Craft House Food + Drink offers a sophisticated dining experience with its fresh and locally sourced New American cuisine, handcrafted cocktails, local craft beers, and boutique wines. The restaurant takes pride in its extensive selection of American whiskeys. Guests can enjoy the indoor/outdoor vibe created by sliding windows and a spacious outdoor courtyard. Signature cocktails like "Oil Be There for You" and "Nate's Old Fashioned" are highly recommended.
I have been to Craft House for their happy hour, which is delicious and reasonably priced. But I never considered it for brunch until I came to the REDO antique market today. It will be my new go to spot! Started with the most delicious bloody NAUDI. Blue cheese, stuffed olives, and bacon, and just the right amount of spice! Convinced my friend that we should share the chicken and waffles and each ordered an egg on the side literally have died and gone to heaven! Crispy juicy chicken, bourbon butter on the waffles. We asked to have the syrup heated, which was the right call! Poured on top of everything and the flavor profile was delicious! We really wanted to try the pistachio coffee cake, but were too full. I’ll be back for sure! Alex, our server was present, responsive and funny! Very fair prices and no up charge on the egg!

If you are a whiskey aficionado you will love this place. Not only do they have popular and rare whiskeys the bartenders are very knowledgeable about their craft and super friendly. Nate and Frank were both very accommodating. We got some complimentary tastes of whiskey we were curious about. We only had one appetizer and it was amazingly tasty with crispy rice, fresh ahi and flavorful sauces. Their menu looks delicious with grilled meatloaf and fried chicken. This is our new go to bar!

This was the second time we cane here and honestly it was even better this time. The food was so delicious and the drinks were crafted perfectly. It has definitely become a place we will come back to time and time again.

We went there for dinner on a Wednesday night after a beach day with the kids. We didn’t have to wait long to be seated. Parking is very limited—there’s a small lot, or you can park uphill near the restaurant or next building by the nail salon. The food was great overall. I ordered the Wagyu beef with chimichurri. The flavor was excellent, though the beef was slightly overcooked—I had asked for medium rare. The kids ordered burgers with fries. They mentioned the burgers tasted a bit like fish, possibly because of the grass-fed beef. The service was friendly and attentive, which made for a pleasant dining experience.

Craft House in Dana Point is absolutely amazing. The atmosphere and staff is awesome. My complements to the chief Keene Vasquez for the most amazing food I have ever tasted. My family loves it and will definitely be coming back.

Worst experience ever. They’re trying to be Coastal Kitchen, but they’re simply not! Just as my dinner arrived, the “Floor manager” (meaningless title), Courtney, asked me to move from my table to the worst little table on the patio to accommodate other guests because they had dogs and couldn’t sit inside (why is this my problem?). So do I have this right? I arrive early, am seated and am later asked to move to a terrible table so that people with loud and poorly behaved dogs can have adequate seating!? Terribly insulting and indicative of what an awful restaurant this is. This was my third and last try at Craft House. There are many wonderful restaurants in the Lantern district with inventive menus and lovely service. Don’t waste your money on this disrespectful hovel. Cold food, ugly dark decor. Simply not worth the money. Go to Cracker Barrel instead.

Stopped by Craft House in Dana Point on a Saturday afternoon and grabbed a seat on the patio with my family. Their happy hour was amazing. Great selection of drinks and shareable bites at really solid prices. Staff was super welcoming, friendly, and on top of everything without hovering. Loved the location, loved the value, and honestly the whole experience felt easy and enjoyable. If you’re in Dana Point and want a laid-back spot with good food, good drinks, and great service, Craft House is a win. I’ll definitely be back!

We hosted our rehearsal dinner and welcome party here the night before our wedding and couldn’t have been happier. We reserved the private dining room in the back for a seated dinner with family and our wedding party, then welcomed a little over 100 guests for small bites and drinks. The night was a blast. The staff took wonderful care of everyone, the food was outstanding, and guests kept raving about the great vibe at Craft House. Blake and team were easy to work with and incredibly accommodating. Highly recommend Craft House!

During my recent visit to the Los Rios Historic District in San Juan Capistrano, I was thoroughly enchanted by its rich history and picturesque charm. As California's oldest continually occupied neighborhood, dating back to 1794, the district offers a unique glimpse into the past. Strolling along the tree-lined Los Rios Street, I admired the beautifully preserved adobe homes, many of which have been transformed into delightful cafes, art galleries, and boutique shops. The vibrant gardens and rustic architecture create a serene and inviting atmosphere. A highlight of my visit was dining at the Ramos House Cafe, where I enjoyed a delectable brunch in a quaint setting. The district's proximity to the train station makes it easily accessible, and its blend of history, culture, and community spirit makes it a must-visit destination. I wholeheartedly give the Los Rios Historic District a five-star rating for its exceptional preservation and enchanting ambiance. Get there early to ensure parking!

This area is extremely relaxing place to walk around, shop the store and enjoy the food. I came on September 8 2025 on a Monday and this area was not crowded. We walked over to the mission which is closed on Mondays. Walking on Los Rios St is so cool. There are wonderful gift shops and restaurants. Coffee lovers there is a coffeehouse and a tea house for the tea enthusiast. I recommend trying the bourbon street vanilla ☕️ tea! I enjoyed the great gift shops.

There is loads to see and do here. We parked at River Ranch Marketplace (but there are loads of other options) 2 dollars an hour. At the mall there are a variety of eating establishments and some nice niche shops- cheque book required! As quite pricey in one or two. We strolled across the railway track to Los Rios historic district. There are 3 or 4 really lovely little gifts and arts and crafts shops. Some nice little bargains and unusual hummingbird feeders. Reasonable prices. A few steps away was the main high street that has a fantastic antique barn. Also, the mission. Will definitely return again. You can take the train to San Juan Capistrano and easily walk around.

What a charming little site!! Los Rios Historic District is located in the beautiful city of San Juan Capistrano and Los Rios is known to be one of the oldest neighborhoods in the state of California! Just behind the train tracks is the Los Rios Historic District. You can get here by train (Metrolink stops right at this site), by bike, by feet, or by car. There are plenty of paid parking across the tracks or free street parking along Camino Capistrano. Here you’ll find: - Old Mr. Tree (circa 1800) - The Tea House on Los Rios - Ramos House Cafe - And other businesses! The street is not paved so wear comfortable shoes when walking here. Overall, a picturesque spot for the Spring and Summer months!

Great patio for dining, plenty of shade and pleasant even in July. Service was friendly, attentive. Oysters were big and flavorful, steak was cooked perfect. Oh, how could I forget the fabulous Espresso Martini! Definitely worth a revisit! 🥂

Almost perfect! These guys do seafood right! Ordered the oysters and they were beautiful. Taste of the sea. Some sweet. Some salty. All delicious. The lobster roll with duck fat fries were brilliant! Tender lobster. Crispy fries. A near perfect dish - we didn't particularly like the truffle oil aioli, but that's a personal preference. Overall, scrumptious! The surf and turf was hit-and-miss. The grilled lobster was perfectly cooked. Sweet and tender dipped in melted butter. Yes! The steak was a miss. While it was cooked to a medium rare, it was not a great cut. A lot of fat that was not cooked and making the piece chewy. Surf, yes. Turf, no! And the sourdough bread was fantastic!! This is tough. I wanted it to work. For now, it's one-and-done.

Food’s great. Atmosphere’s good. Service seems like it can improve. Visited to have some oysters and cocktails & the midage male server seems unhappy we didnt order more🤷🏻‍♀️maybe we went on a happy hour and its not that pricey..? When i saw reciept after i left i saw the food item was charged regular price - oyster dozen $40, duckfat fries $12 it was selectively happy hour by the server even if we got there around 530pm lol well.. after Glasspar we went to next door and got better service for sure. If i can feel like im not treated right I believe its valid to leave review like this.

Glasspar in Dana Point is truly one of my favorite restaurants. The food is consistently outstanding—elevated seafood dishes with thoughtful flavor and beautiful presentation. Whether I’m there for brunch, a birthday, or just a special night out, the experience is always top-tier. The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance: relaxed yet elegant, making it feel both welcoming and upscale. The service is warm and attentive, and the clientele tends to be just as friendly, which adds to the charm. I highly recommend the G3—it’s absolutely delicious. And if you enjoy a good cocktail, don’t miss the Lavender Martini made with Empress Gin—it's my go-to. You can tell the owners bring a wealth of experience to the table. Every detail—from the menu to the ambiance—reflects their passion for great dining. Glasspar is a must-visit for anyone who appreciates fresh seafood, creative cuisine, and an unforgettable dining experience.

Ate here 2 times while on vacation, this is a great place. The service, the food and atmosphere were right on the money. Servers were friendly and knowledgeable. Everything we ate was delicious, warm bread, shrimp cocktail with cocktail sauce with a lemony taste really stood out, octopus scallops, parpadelle, sea bass all fantastic. The presentation of the dishes really stood out with different colors and arrangements. There were many different tastes with each of these dishes. The patio is a great place to eat. Wish I lived nearby, would eat there all the time. There are some not so great reviews which hard to imagine given our experience.

Overall, a disappointing evening. It started well with the delicious scallops starter and the sourdough bread. I highly recommend the scallops. Unfortunately, from there, things weren't as good. The salmon and tuna dishes were average, IMO, especially for the price. As for the fish & chips, I can honestly say I've had better from street vendors. The 4 small pieces of cod were soggy, oil soaked and for the most part, tasteless. They have a good wine selection and a decent number of beers to choose from. I would not return to this establishment.
Colin G — Google review
Had a truly great dinner experience at this Dana Point spot. The lobster roll was absolutely awesome—loaded with fresh, tender lobster meat and served on a perfectly toasted bun. It's a popular place, so it gets pretty packed, especially in the evenings. I highly recommend making a reservation to avoid a wait. They also have a fantastic heated patio that's dog-friendly, which is a huge bonus. While it might be a little on the pricier side, the quality of the food and the overall atmosphere make it well worth the cost. It's an ideal place for a special occasion or a delicious meal by the coast.

Excellent place to visit with kids and family. Very nice view from the top. We visited the place during the annual Boat Parade of Lights that happens close to Xmas. Nice clean park to walk around or hang out. Walked here from Dana Point Bluff Top Trail, which is about a block away. Have plenty of stairs and walking paths. This park even has a small gated area for dogs, not huge but is available for them. Grass is kept up nicely.

Great place for a walk with some areas for viewing the ocean side. The walking trail at this park is a switchback and very relaxing. The grass areas are a slope but can be walked on for some serious decline/incline workout. I saw some people being their dogs and some people hanging out on the more flat areas of the grass to read. There is some parking here but not much but it the park connects with adjacent residential areas so you might be able to find more parking on the streets or just park far away in one of the free public parking garages then walk all the way over here to this park. It's worth the visit!

Dana Wharf Sportfishing & Whale Watching in Dana Point is a well-established operation that offers exciting experiences such as whale watching, deep sea fishing trips, and chartered boat rides. Visitors can embark on a two-hour private boat ride on the luxurious 53-foot vessel called The Current, which provides an up-close encounter with dolphin pods swimming alongside the boat.
It was a beautiful experience. It was the first time my friend and I went dolphin watching, and we were amazed. Although we didn’t get to see whales this time, watching the dolphins swimming so close was truly magical. What made this experience even more special was that the boat was entirely operated by amazing women. They were hardworking, kind, and full of great energy. You can truly see the professionalism and passion they bring to their work. The boat was very clean, the service was excellent, and we felt very welcomed from the moment we stepped on board. Thank you for such a lovely experience. We’ll definitely be back to try and see the whales next time!

Absolutely MAGNIFICENT Whale Watching Experience! My son and I had the most incredible time on our whale watching trip with Dana Wharf Sportfishing & Whale Watching in Dana Point! We were treated to a massive pod of dolphins, and it was pure joy watching them leap and jump out of the ocean right next to our boat. Seeing a majestic whale was the perfect climax to the adventure. The video I took only captures a fraction of the excitement—being there in person to witness these magnificent creatures was awe-inspiring! Beyond the incredible sights, the experience was elevated by the exceptional customer service. The entire crew was truly fantastic, and we especially appreciated having the on-board naturalist (photographer) who was so knowledgeable. They shared wonderful facts and information about the different ocean creatures we were seeing, adding so much context and educational value to the trip. This boat ride is absolutely worth the ride and worth every penny! If you're looking for an amazing, family-friendly adventure with a professional and friendly crew, you must book a trip with Dana Wharf. My son and I made memories we will cherish forever. We can't wait to go again!

My family and I went on a whale and dolphin tour with Dana Wharf on October 21st. We had beautiful weather. The crew was very kind, and knowledgeable. We got to see a “Sneaky” Minkie from a distance, but it was playing very hard to get, so minimal photos. However, we were able to see a large pod of dolphins up super close! They were very playful and active. We had a good experience, overall.

Dad wanted his ashes spread off the southern California coast. I checked others, but then found this outfit and was extremely pleased. Dana is a beautiful location and they made the sail as friendly, respectful and considerate as we would’ve liked and fun as everyone, including Dad, would’ve wanted as well. The Curlew is a beautiful ship with the top notch crew. Paired with a gorgeous Orange County backdrop and a great crew we couldn’t have had a more wonderful day to say goodbye to dear old Dad. A competitive price, too, and worth every penny.

I loved this whale tour! Best part was seen dolphins all around me. At the very end I even got to see a whale! One of my dreams came true! The captain and his crew were great too. They were all kind, professional, and very well informed! It was a great experience! 10/10

We love Dana Wharf Whale Watching. We go out often. Being Halloween 🎃 there were not very many people to share the boat with and we got to see lots of witches and pups on paddle boards in the harbor. Love going out on the catamaran, the dolphins are close you can almost touch them. Wonderful Crew!
Lisa M — Google review
An unforgettable experience! Seeing whales has always been one of my dreams, and I was lucky enough to make it come true here. It was my first time visiting Dana Point, and I got to see both whales and dolphins during the tour. My family, who joined me and had been on this tour twice before, said it was their first time spotting whales—so we truly got lucky! The two-hour trip was well-organized, and the crew was incredibly kind and knowledgeable. They took the time to explain the whales’ behavior and ecology in detail, which made the experience even more meaningful.
Momoe S — Google review
Absolutely amazing experience with this company. The staff aboard the Ocean Adventure were all very friendly and knowledgeable. The Captain was amazing (minus being a Bengals fan), we saw a whale in the first few minutes of trip and were able to follow and get some great videos and shots. When the area became heavy with other boats attempting to view. He backed our boat off to avoid overcrowding and to ensure a reasonable distance could be kept to minimize disruption for the whale. Will recommend to others and will visit again in the future. Phenomenal!

Synaptic Cycles in Dana Point offers the convenience of having your preferred bike delivered to your accommodation. They also assist in planning scenic rides around the area, making it one of the top activities in Dana Point. Customers have praised their fair pricing for parts and labor, as well as their exceptional customer service. The store's owner is commended for his extensive knowledge and friendliness, with customers expressing satisfaction with both product quality and after-sales service.
I've been working with Synaptic Cycles since they first opened, and they've consistently delivered first-class service and expert technical support. Recently, I purchased a Specialized Turbo Levo S-Works frame from a dealer in Arizona and sourced the wheels, drivetrain, and other components from a variety of places—including Synaptic. Throughout the process, Shawn (the owner) and Sean (the Master Technician) were incredibly helpful, always available to answer questions and offer thoughtful recommendations on parts and compatibility. When I showed up at their shop at 10am with boxes full of parts—frame, fork, wheels, and more—I was missing a front axle and a brake adapter. No problem: they had both in stock. I expected the build would take several days, but when I returned at 2:00pm to check on progress, I was shocked to find the bike already fully assembled. What had been a pile of parts was now a stunning, ride-ready machine. Shawn and his team are professional, reliable, and genuinely passionate—not just about bikes, but about building relationships with their customers (and their dogs!). I highly recommend Synaptic Cycles for anyone in need of top-tier e-bike or mountain bike sales and service.

Outstanding Service & Expertise — Shawn Is Incredible! I had an absolutely fantastic experience with Synaptic Cycles. I purchased my Aventon Ramblas from them, and Shawn went above and beyond to help me get it dialed in — including upgrading the firmware and offering excellent advice. What really stood out was that he also assisted me with getting the shifter working on another bike I bought elsewhere, with the same level of care and expertise. His knowledge, patience, and genuine willingness to help were simply outstanding. It’s rare to find this level of customer service these days. I left feeling confident in both of my bikes and grateful for the top-notch support. I can’t recommend Synaptic Cycles and Shawn highly enough — truly exceptional service, professional and friendly attitude, and real expertise. Thank you

Purchased a Lectric XP4 750. Reef was friendly and knowledgeable, answering all my questions about the bike. Because of their extensive inventory, I was able to test the exact model I wanted (no one else in LA/OC had the bike in stock and available to test) on a ride around the block and confirm it fit in my car before purchasing. I feel confident in my purchase knowing there is a physical store I can return to to address any issues as they honor the Lectric warranty.

Shawn doesn’t sell bikes; he sells Magic. If you’ve been thinking about buying an e-bike then get off the couch and go get one today from Synaptic Cycles because every day you postpone your purchase is a day you miss out on experiences that will redefine your life. Riding up and down our beautiful coastline on our RadPower e-bikes from Synaptic brings us so much simple joy, and my wife says she feels like a kid again. Shawn, Jackson, and the whole crew give great customer service and work very hard to ensure that each rider is on a bike that’s right for the rider, taking into consideration the unique needs of each customer. We couldn’t be happier!

Shawn is awesome! He took the initiative & contacted my ebike's manufacturer to get the parts needed to swap the brakes I preferred to have. Now I have the ebike spec'd as I wanted instead of waiting months. Shop staff was very friendly. I appreciate everyone's help!

The two Shawn and the brown dog at Cynaptic Cycles provided me with a 5 Star level service today. My Kryptonite bike lock started malfunctioning and both Shawns assisted me with the lock despite the lock not being purchased from their shop. These guys and the brown dog truly care about the community. I encourage everyone in need of their services to visit their shop and support their business. The brown down will make you feel at home as soon as you walk into the place. You have gained a lifelong client after the service you provided me today. Thank you again and see you soon!

Bicycle rental service
Wheel Fun Rentals at Doheny State Beach offers a delightful biking experience for the whole family. You can rent various bikes, including cruisers, tandems, choppers, quad sports, and surreys by the hour. The 10-mile beach stretch from DoubleTree Hotel to San Clemente provides stunning views of surfers, hotels, tide pools, and the Pacific. Visitors can enjoy ocean views throughout the ride and take breaks at firepits or camping spots along the way.
This was the highlight of my trip for Dana Point. It was so awesome being able to stroll in today (30-Jan-2022), get fitted for a proper bike with optional lock, and cruise along within minutes along the beach. The gentleman who helped set me up was extremely kind & friendly, chatting about Kamloops nearby where I'm from. Upon returning for a half day rental before 5pm, I was greeted by another gentleman who chatted about a wedding event in Victoria, also nearby my home city. The amazing customer service & genuine kindness of both team members at Wheel Fun Rentals were just the highlight of this experience!

Great place to rent surfboards. John W does a great job helping to get you set up for a day of fun at the beach. Make sure to ask about the membership to get 50 percent off your rental at this location and many more. Thanks John for helping make great memories for my kids at the first beach they learned how to surf!

We did not want electric bikes and this was only place we could get regular 10 speeds. We stayed on the rail trail towards San Clemente so perfect location for that. BUT, the bikes were terrible!! Badly needed tuneups and seats slipped down. I did not see helmets sanitized as they were tossed into the open bin when we brought them back.
BarbaraLF — Google review
Super flaky… there’s no way to guarantee they’ll be there, don’t bother planning your day around them. Called in before we left, they said “come over, we’ve got plenty of bikes…” showed up, the store was shuttered and everything was packed away, looked like it had been closed for decades. So if calling ahead doesn’t help, how the heck you supposed to know if they’re open or not 😄 so basically if you’re on the beach anyway, and they happen to be open, go for it; otherwise don’t expect it
Devorah K — Google review
Huge scam for renting anything other than maybe a bike. We rented a few of the two person pedal bikes and they show you a map of where you can ride. They told us it would take about a half hour. The path is actually a 5-10min ride around the parking lot. It never leaves the parking lot and you can't ride up and down the beach at all. It's $30 per pedal bike per hour. There's absolutely nothing to see. We came back after 20min and asked for a refund and the manager was a rude kid. He gave us a hard time and then finally just gave us our money back after we refused to leave without it. Would absolutely never come here again.
Mel P — Google review
My girlfriend and I rented out a surrey from Wheel Fun. It was great fun! Cali was very helpful in instructing us how to ride safely and gave us some advice on places to visit. Thank you! Will definitely come back for more adventures.
Damiano C — Google review
Attentive and easy to work with. Wrapped up fully with one guest befofe moving to the next, which I appreciated. I also like that Liam wiped down the bike before giving it to us and made sure we understood how to use it.
Lissa T — Google review
TAKE A RIDE! My siblings, mom and I rented the 4-person bike for Mother's Day and rode it along the beach. We loved it! There are ocean views during the entire ride, firepits, camping spots, trash cans and bathrooms along the way, and you can also stop and park the bike at the edge of the beach in the parking lot and take a quick lunch or swim break! There is a large parking lot next to the building that offers metered parking and costs a few dollars. The 4-person bike was affordable to rent, awesome and really fun, although I couldn't imagine doing it with less than 4 people because it can be a bit difficult to pedal. The only downside I noticed was that the bike bench seats were so narrow and slippery it was difficult to stay on while pedaling. I'll just make sure to wear more gripping clothes the next time I go. Small and slippery seats aside, I will definitely be back with friends to try out the other equipment they offer, including 1 or 2 person bikes, bike chopper and beach equipment.

Salt Creek Beach is a great surf beach in Laguna Niguel with a sandy coast and grassy park. It's surrounded by walking paths and has shaded tables for picnics, as well as basketball courts and horseback riding.

Beware of sting rays! Experienced an encounter with them today. An enjoyable coastal area for recreational activities. When the coral reef fractures, it tends to become congested. The wide array of artwork available guarantees a desire to revisit this captivating establishment.
Laura is an awesome artist and sweetheart. So glad I stopped in for the Elephant Parade and got to meet her. She is an Orange County gem! A prolific painter, illustrator, and children's book author. Her art is uplifting and personable. You can find it on ceramic tiles, apparel, totes, picture pendants for necklace and pin charms, painter's canvases from tiny to large, cards, and illustrated books. She hand embellishes almost everything in that store! And you can see her studio in the back. Presently, in front of her studio and next door; her partner's Dana Bay Gallery, is the traveling Singapore Elephant Parade! The elephants are painted by local celebrities and artists to raise awareness of the plight of the Asian Elephant and encourages conservation efforts. You can even buy an elephant from either of their stores!

This is a nice park not far from the I-5 and also the PCH. It looks well maintained with what looked like a baseball diamond (but could have been softball, probably too big for little league}, basketball and tennis. Someone had even adapted a court for pickleball. The park was clean and well maintained, but we merely used it to access the San Juan Creek Bicycle Path. It is a paved path that goes from the coast inland for at least 7 miles and connects with several other marvelous trails. We rode in the morning and then picked a table on the beach for a light lunch. This park was about a mile from the beach. I think there is a sewage treatment plant between this park and the ocean. There was a slight odor on the bike trail, but not in this park This park was lovely and a breath of fresh air on the sunny January Monday morning of our visit.

A nice park for starting a bike ride or hike on the San Juan Creek Trail. It also has other things like a tennis/pickleball court and basketball at the park

This park is small, it's mostly a tennis recreation center, has 2 handball courts, 2 tennis courts and one full basketball court that was used for paddle courts on Sunday. This place definitely gets used

Cool bridge, easy to get to, but not much else around. I had come thinking there'd be a cool little hike or something, but just the bridge. Really cool bridge though!

I can't quite put my finger on, but it doesn't seem the way it used to be; the taste of the chili dog and the chili stuff; it tastes different, not worse or any better, but just different. Anyway, that's my opinion and that's no change they're still have great customer service as always and a good smile! I'll keep going back but I'm still a little indifferent, of the taste or change in the chili sauce, I really don't know if there is any, thanks covid! I don't know, you tell me any change, better, worse, or nothing at, you be the judge!

Cool little park, if you want to get away from the madness of life, lots of birds, green grass, rabbits and squirrels. If you like to exercise they have a good circuit routine. Benches available for a relaxing moment or BYOL ( bring our own lunch) cheers!

HARBOR CREEK RESIDENTIAL AREA IS NOT A SAFE PLACE TO STORE YOUR ITEMS OUTSIDE. DO NOT PUT YOUR BICYCLE OUTSIDE FOR WHATEVER REASON, IT WILL GET STOLEN EVEN WHEN LOCKED.
