Crystal Cove State Park, located between Newport and Laguna Beaches in Orange County, California, offers a 3.2-mile beach with sandy coves and tide pools. The park spans 2,400 acres of land for hiking and biking, providing well-marked walking trails along chaparral-covered bluffs.
If you’re in Newport Beach, this is worth a visit! Amazing views and not very much crowding. Be prepared to walk up and down steep trails to get to the beach. Beautiful scenery
Brian H — Google review
We love this State park. Make sure to go at Low tide so you can enjoy the many tide pools. We have found some cool things in them from Lobsters and an Octopus once. The walk on the beach is awesome from pelican point south to Beachcombers and enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner on the beach. But make reservations or it’s an hour wait. The walking trails are awesome overlooking the ocean.
Chad G — Google review
Crystal Cove State Park is absolutely stunning! From the moment you arrive, the views of the ocean and coastline take your breath away. The hiking trails are well-maintained and offer a mix of easy strolls and more challenging climbs, all with incredible scenic overlooks. Walking along the beach, especially at low tide, reveals tide pools full of fascinating sea life. The beach itself is pristine, with soft sand, clear blue water, and plenty of rocky areas for kids and adults to explore. There are several access points and parking lots, making it convenient to find a spot. The visitor center is helpful and welcoming, and the bathrooms are clean, definitely a plus! We enjoyed stopping at the nearby restaurants along the beach for a meal while soaking in the ocean views. Whether you’re hiking, exploring tide pools, or just relaxing by the water, Crystal Cove is the perfect getaway. Highly recommend bringing a camera. The sunsets here are unforgettable!
Leslie M — Google review
what to expect: follow your GPS to the location. It tells you where the state park is only to be stopped by a passive aggressive security guard who pointed out that there was a stop sign behind the tree. The guard will become a little nicer and then point out that there is parking across the street for a mere $15 but there is a shuttle. He fails to tell you that the shuttle cost two dollars each way so you take all of that and you eventually get down to a mediocre beach with a pretty good restaurant, not much else actually. There are some quaint houses that you can rent out and that seems appealing, but as far as the whole package is concerned, unless you’ve never been to the beach before, it is a pass.
Mark G — Google review
What great beach. $20 a day pass. Clean, blue water. Rocks to climb on. There are several paths to get down to the beach. Upon entering, make a left and park at the end of the lot. Take the paved path next to the bathrooms down to the water. Its still pretty steep. Kids had a blast.
Justin — Google review
I love to go to this place. I went super early and got to see the sunrise. Beach was not too crowded when I got there in the morning. Water was very clear and clean. I saw about six different species of fish swimming in the kelp/ sea grass and rock reef while snorkeling. Be prepared to walk down to the beach and uphill back to the parking lot but it's definitely worth it.
Jon L — Google review
Absolutely Serene. I visited on a weekday. This place felt very open to our sky, ocean and natural world. Crystal Cove was not crowded with people. Good place for relaxation & recreation with a view. Pack a picnic lunch or find nearby park concessions. Purchase a California State Park Day or Multi-Day Pass. Enjoy this beauty and other California state beach parks on a day journey along the Pacific Coast Highway. Tip: The stairs leading to beach have an uneven surface and are a bit wonky to walk down. There is a walking ramp located nearby that is a more stable alternative to provide better footing, if needed.

Very beautiful beach! Would highly recommend and go back. The birds are savages though but overall wonderful sight.

Heisler Park is a picturesque coastal park located above the bluffs, offering stunning views of the Pacific Ocean and access to four Laguna beaches. The park features artistic park benches, sculptures, and a waterfront pathway lined with grassy spaces, palm trees, and wildflowers. Visitors can enjoy the ocean views from various vantage points along the walking trails and explore rocky shores and tide pools.
Heisler Park is my new favorite beach to visit. Lots of parking, restrooms, seating, grass and tables for a picnic and it has a ramp straight down to the beach for wheel chair access. ♿️👍I've gone twice this week and Im planning to bring more with me next time so I can camp a little longer.

Thank you for this beautiful place. Every year we come here and enjoy. The care is great as the view. Truly a treasure.

Great place to go visit. The drive getting there was pretty cool itself. Nice scenery and lots of houses on the hills. Not too crowded and parking was easily available at a very low cost. Didn't spend too much time there but it was worth the trip for sure.

Heisler Park in Laguna Beach is a beautifully maintained coastal gem that captures the spirit of Southern California’s shoreline. With its sweeping ocean views, art installations, and carefully landscaped walkways, it offers a perfect blend of natural beauty and relaxation. The sunsets are truly breathtaking, making it an ideal spot for photography, peaceful walks, or a quiet moment above the waves. If you’re visiting Laguna Beach, Heisler Park is a place not to be missed,it perfectly represents the charm and serenity that make this area so special.

It's beautiful here however, my son has Down Syndrome and suffers from depth perception and gets over stimulated. These steps almost sent him to the hospital. Let's just say it WAS NOT FUN! Next time we'll go to the parking lot with the tunnel. They even had a wheelchair for the sand. It was a good day but yeah, next time we'll go somewhere else.
Cinnamon M — Google review
This park is stunning! The views are absolutely breathtaking! Very walkable and peaceful. Clean restrooms. Impeccably maintained!
Angela M — Google review
Beautiful park, everything they say about Orange County California is true. Even in late October you can lay on the beach, ocean is cold but you can still dip your toes in. Can't wait to come back!
Kris M — Google review
My Honest Review as an Avid Traveler: This park is a beautiful spot for barbecuing or making burgers with a stunning ocean view—an experience you won’t find everywhere. There are designated barbecue stations scattered throughout the area, making it easy to enjoy a perfect grilling session with family and friends. The scenery here is breathtaking and magical, blending the sounds of the waves, laughter of children, and the presence of dogs into a lively and cheerful atmosphere. It truly reminds me of the Cape Town beaches in South Africa, especially with the cool ocean breeze. If you’re visiting the U.S. or are a local, don’t miss this hidden gem—a perfect spot to relax, grill, and enjoy nature’s finest views.

Very beautiful! We came in a group of 4. Paid $30, children under 12 are free and receive a cute goodie bag! This was a 3 story adventure! 10/10 highly recommend! Parking was easy, it’s all street parking so bring your change lol. Also don’t forget to stop by the gift shop!! It was truly beautiful and even the butterflies on the walls were for sale!
Cassandra M — Google review
A really lovely contemporary art museum. 3 floors of art, the main floor had 3 galleries. A cute little gift shop. There’s a small entrance fee, but it’s free on the first Thursday of the month, 6-9 pm. Worth the trip. The staff were extremely friendly.

Worth the entry fee. Delightful gallery with several exhibits. Took the baby- easy to navigate with a stroller.

Small but filled with art and amazing exhibits!! My only regret is that we didn't have more time to linger! Worth the admission and a look!! Also loved the showcase on local student artists! So much talent on display, excited for the future of art!

Great atmosphere, there was a band playing when I got there. As an LCAD student this felt really personal to me seeing all the MFA works. Hope I could get there one day. Also love that it's free for 19&under. AND they had free water.

Lovely gallery space. They have a great permanent collection of Laguna artists I wish they had more of their artworks on display. $12 entry. Closed Mondays. Update March 24 returns to revisit. They have no permanent collections on display still very PUZZLING as to why?? Exhibitions I saw were good but please display some of the amazing artworks you own!

Nestled along the stunning California coast, the Pacific Marine Mammal Center is a remarkable sanctuary dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating marine mammals. Established in 1971 by a small group of passionate volunteers, this center has grown into a vital resource for injured sea lions, seals, and other marine wildlife. Visitors can embark on pre-booked educational tours that provide insight into the rehabilitation process while observing these magnificent creatures up close.
This may be a small location and parking really is a killer. However, the knowledge the volunteers have about these sea lions are amazing! The history or this location and the timeline of rescue to rehabilitation to being releat back in to the sea. Very remarkable place! I feel it was worth the time and energy to go visit. Plus I made a donation to help feed the sea lions. It was a great learning place for my youngest niece. Seeing the sea lions come out of the water pools and slide back and forth was fun to see.
Mz D — Google review
It is an amazing place where they save and rehabilitate the marine mammals. Free entrance and open to the public from 10 AM to 4 PM everyday except Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year. Great for a day trip of a family especially with kids. There is a small gift shop inside as well. Lots of opportunities if you love the oceans and volunteer......
Cheri P — Google review
Really cool place and experience. I was greeted upon arrival and happily shown around. The guide who assisted me was very informational and she answered all of my questions. I learned a lot about their 4 patients they have at this moment, and what the center does to help many marine mammals throughout the year. They also offer programs to engage children during the year that allow children to learn the importance of recycling to allowing them to shadow their Veterinarian! The staff were all very friendly and happy to be helping. THIS IS A NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION AND ALL STAFF ARE VOLUNTEERS! 👍👍👍
Jaymie M — Google review
Awesome place!!! They are all very educated on the animals that they are caring for. Stop in and purchase something from the gift shop to help support their company and the great things that they are accomplishing there! Lots of cool stuff in their shop. Not a huge property but a fun place to visit for a few minutes. 5 star from me!
M. — Google review
Definitely check the tides and visit 1000 steps beach at low tide! Gorgeous, but be prepared to feel like you may need to be life flighted to get back up the stairs. 🤣
Irish M — Google review
Thank goodness for this place. Learning about the different marine mammals found off the coast of California is great. And then learning about how these wonderful animals are cared for, rehabilitated and almost always released back into the wild is terrific. Watching the animals swim, eat and play is such a treat.
Devin B — Google review
Small place but a great place to take kids to learn about marine mammals, ocean conservation, and animal rehabilitation. The staff there was super friendly and informative. They took the kids on a mini tour of the place and explained the process of receiving, renourish, and releasing the animals. If you're in the area, I recommend stopping by with kids and donating a few bucks to a good cause.
Daniel L — Google review
Pacific marine centre is doing great rehab for seals and sea lions. This place is a must see if you're ever driving off the 133. One of animal advocates explained everything and how humans do so much harm, however, I'm happy to give back. They accept donations really heartwarming coming yo this place. plus it was so beautiful neat spot. I got to see whale bones. I think it was a blue Whales bones.

Laguna Coast Wilderness Park, also known as Big Bend, is a vast 7,000-acre park offering an array of trails for hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding. Nestled in the San Joaquin Hills surrounding Laguna Beach, this park boasts coastal sage scrub and oak woodlands. It's a haven for outdoor enthusiasts with trails catering to various skill levels. The park is open daily from 8 am to 5 pm with a nominal parking fee.
There are many beautiful wild flowers here. The scenery is very beautiful. The location is close to the beach. After hiking, go to the beach for a walk, feel the sea breeze, and have a brunch. It is perfect.

One of my favorite hikes in South OC.
Philip W — Google review
$3 parking for the day. The trails are either very easy or very difficult/steep. The “moderate” trail is very long and steep and slippery. Bring excellent hiking shoes, water, hat, sunglasses and sunblock. I saw cacti, hummingbirds, various flowers and lizards. Nix Nature center has a 3D map, displays and bathrooms.
Matthew T — Google review
A lovely train through the canyons. It’s certainly a long incline at first so be prepared to be properly hydrated. Once you make your way up, you get to see nice 360 views of canyons, mountains, Pacific Ocean and Orange County in the distance. Spring is best the time to hike as you get to see a lot of greenery.
Nas S — Google review
Nice trail of different trails. Views overlooking the great park OC. Long Beach area and freeways. Moderate difficult and easy trails available. Quiet and clean for the most part. We enjoy this spot. 3 dollars for all day parking. Nature center available.
PJ — Google review
Not much shade and steep hills recomment hiking early/late in the day. Bring shoes with good traction or trekking pole because down hill was a bit hard due to being steap and sandy. End of the hike there was a beatiful view of ocean totally worth it! I bet sunset looks gorgeous from here!
Yeonjin H — Google review
Had a wonderful time here. Hiked the Laguna Ridge trail for about an hour. Loved the fact that there was a lot of uphill, curves and different terrain. Got some great shots. The view of the ocean was amazing. Learned about the Pacific Pocket Mouse, didn't see any trash, and people were generally nice and said hello. Word of advise, if going solo and have noise cancelling headphones on; be alert of the cyclist because they come in hot. I took mine off and didn't need music. The breeze was singing a real sweet melody.

Little intense, about 4.7 mile, first half of the trail is high elevation. First 1 Mike too around 25 mins. We liked the view on the top of the trail

Main Beach in Laguna is a vibrant and scenic spot with a boardwalk perfect for relaxation, exercise, and dog walking. From June to September, dogs are allowed on the beach from 9 am to 6 pm, while they can visit anytime during the rest of the year as long as they're on-leash. The beach offers stunning views, Southern California sun, picnic areas, a basketball court, and a children's playground.
I went on a gloomy day.. but it was still so beautiful!! It's 10x better on a sunny day of course, but the scenery and surroundings is so nice. I love this beach along with la jolla!

Laguna Main Beach has gorgeous sand and a classic SoCal vibe. Waves were a bit strong for small kids when we visited, but there were plenty of people around and lifeguards on duty, so we still felt comfortable. Great place to spend an afternoon!
Tony C — Google review
We are new to SoCal and live in between OC and San Diego county. We decided to check out an OC beach as we’ve heard so many great things. We were throughly disappointed. I don’t know what going on but the beach was covered in kelp. Upon arrival we set up our stuff in front of a lifeguard tower but further in front of the cones. The lifeguard watched and waited for us to be fully set up with all our stuff to come and tell us to move. There was nowhere to move. Mounds and mounds of kelp everywhere with tons of sand flies around them and bees! The beach is over crowded and reeks of sewage. Definitely our first and last time there. 0/10 would not recommend.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We absolutely LOVE Laguna Beach! 🌊🌴 It's a perfect haven for families, offering a fantastic family-friendly environment. The beach, during low tide, is a treasure trove of fun with tide pools where you and your kids can explore shells, fish, crabs, and more—it's an adventure that can keep us entertained all day long! Laguna Beach truly stands out as one of Orange County's top destinations. The picturesque scenery, coupled with the opportunity for family fun, makes it a must-visit spot. We appreciate the convenience of great food options within walking distance (specially traveling with kids) The space is perfect for kids to play and run around, and our daughter absolutely loves it. Laguna Beach has become our go-to getaway, offering a perfect blend of natural beauty, family-friendly activities, and delightful dining options. Five stars without a doubt!

Outdoor Activities
Nestled in South Laguna, 1000 Steps Beach is a popular spot for surfing, sunbathing, and volleyball. Despite its name, the staircase to the beach actually consists of only 218 steps. Locals often use it as a workout spot due to its popularity. The beach itself is wide and beautiful with stunning coastal views and a tranquil atmosphere. It's framed by dramatic cliffs and offers a sense of serenity away from the crowds.
If you are looking for a hidden gem along the coast, Thousand Steps Beach is an absolute must-visit! I went there in April and was blessed with perfect weather — sunshine, a gentle breeze, and that magical light you only get on rare days. The beach itself is breathtaking: secluded, peaceful, and absolutely stunning. You access it by descending a long staircase (about 200 steps, not really 1000!), which feels like the start of a little adventure. Don’t worry — the climb back up is manageable and totally worth it. Highlights: - The Grottos: This was easily the highlight of my visit. At low tide, you can explore the mesmerizing caves on the left side of the beach. If you venture through, you’ll even reach another hidden beach — a real secret paradise! - Crystal-clear water and soft sand make it ideal for relaxing, swimming, or just soaking in the beauty. - Facilities: There’s a shower and a toilet down by the beach (only one each, but it wasn’t crowded at all during my visit). - Parking: Street parking is available at the top — it might get tricky during peak times, but in my case, it was easy and stress-free. - Sunsets: If you can, stay for sunset! The colors are unforgettable, and it’s one of the best places to watch the sun dip into the ocean. - Timing Tip: Visit at low tide if you want to explore the caves safely — and check tide charts beforehand. It’s an amazing spot for photography, quiet reflection, romantic walks, and of course, adventure if you love discovering hidden natural beauty. I genuinely had the perfect day and would come back again without hesitation. Highly recommend for nature lovers, photographers, and anyone who wants a slice of paradise without the crowds!

I was a little nervous to visit at first, but I’m so glad I did, it was absolutely worth it! The views are stunning, truly some of the best I’ve ever seen. Photos don’t do it justice. The people are friendly, and the sound of the waves is so calming. I wish I lived nearby so I could come more often. This place is a hidden gem, I highly recommend visiting if you get the chance!
Israa — Google review
This beach is not that crowded compared to other SoCal beaches, and to access it, park at the hospital, but only on weekends. The beach is quite nice, has some tidepools and caves at both ends, and has some high waves perfect for bodysurfing. Also the beach is accessible by going down the 212-ish stairs to the beach, and the water and beach here seems more cleaner than other socal beaches.
LC 4 — Google review
The stairs keep the crowds away! There are a LOT of them. Definitely not 1000 but lots. It's easier to go down then come up. There is a lifeguard on duty and bathrooms at the bottom. Parking is TRICKY but it's well worth it. The beach is absolutely beautiful and it's clean and the water is so pretty. It wasn't crowded at all.
Jacque — Google review
I had the pleasure of photographing a senior portrait session at Thousand Steps Beach. While this beach is a popular spot, it's not always my first recommendation for those traveling specifically for a photo shoot due to the crowds. However, it's an excellent option if you're already staying in one of the beautiful nearby homes. Despite the crowded conditions, the photo shoot was spectacular, and we captured some truly stunning images. If you're considering this location, I highly recommend visiting during the off-season in winter to avoid the crowds and have a more intimate experience. For any senior, family, or wedding photography needs, I'm available to help you find the perfect backdrop and capture beautiful memories, whether at Thousand Steps or one of the many other incredible beaches in the area.

First time coming here and it all starts with 1000 steps down!!!!…. Actually not that many, it’s more like 200-250 steps but they call it to make people prep for the beautiful view that that can see from the shoreline! If you are around, it’s worth the try going down there! BUT, there’s only one bathroom so if there are many people you have to wait for good long time like I did… good 30 mins waiting just to pee :( so I just suggest to go to the restroom before coming here or just go to nature :p Overall, I had a good time spending time here but ironically waiting for bathroom was longer than seeing the ocean view… yet still it’s worth it! So go visit! Enjoy the steps and the ocean view! Cheers 🥂

The steep stairway down may seem intimidating at first, but once you reach the bottom, you’re rewarded with stunning ocean views, dramatic cliffs, and soft sand stretching along the shore. The waves crash with a calming rhythm, and the whole place has a secluded, almost secret vibe. It’s the kind of spot where you can just sit back, breathe in the sea air, and lose track of time.

Awesome beach! If youre driving in, the parking is limited out on the road, so go early. Starts with a couple of hundred steps down. Which wasn't bad. Beach is beautiful and waves were active. -John Wayne's house sits here and believe it's a rental - Beautiful scenery - there was water access to clean feet - was a bathroom, but was locked, so not sure on availability - nice shopping and restaurants not far away Definitely recommend visiting if youre in the area

The Laguna Playhouse is a midsized regional theater located in Laguna Beach, known for staging big-name plays, musicals, comedy shows, and kids' productions. The area has a rich cultural history and was once considered a mecca for lovers of alternative lifestyles. The playhouse sits next to the Festival of Arts and is one of the last community playhouses in Orange County.
We saw Rapunzel this Christmas, Sally Struthers was the PERFECT witch and JL Benet was a very charming Prince. Excellent venue, excellent show!

Perfect, intimate playhouse where we were immersed in the drama of the presentation of Fences, a story about father and sons/husband and wife. Good production, great set, well run playhouse.

I thoroughly enjoyed the performance at Laguna Playhouse. The acting was absolutely incredible. Watching a small cast take on multiple roles so seamlessly was mind blowing. It was clever, engaging, and kept my mind fully involved from start to finish. I do wish there were more people in my age group attending. This kind of live theater is something more young adults should experience. They are definitely missing out. My only critique is that the seats do not have cupholders or a place to store drinks, which would be a helpful upgrade.

First time attending a performance and it was fun. Theater is small enough that every seat is a good seat. We're planning to attend more plays.

We have attended the Christmas performances at the Laguna Playhouse for many many years now. Obviously a fun family tradition. Yesterday's manatee show was spectacular. I have three sons in there 20's now and they all agree it was the best one ever!!! The wicked sister's in Cinderella and Button made us laugh so hard. The fairy god mother's singing voice absolutely breathtaking. The costumes and set design were so beautiful. We were impressed by everyone in the cast!!! The performance was top notch. 👌

Victoria Beach, located just south of downtown Laguna Beach, is a picturesque white-sand beach known for its iconic Pirate Tower. This 60-foot castle-inspired tower was built in 1926 as an enclosed staircase for Senator William E. Brown and has become a famous spot for photos. The tower, made from poured concrete with narrow window openings and a cone-shaped roof, adds to the beach's charm. Visitors can explore it at low tide or admire it from the beach.
We heard about this beautiful beach and the historic castle nestled by the cliff, so we decided to check it out. We managed to find parking in the neighborhood, which was convenient. There are steps leading down to the beach, and reaching the castle requires some walking on loose rocks, so it's important to be cautious as they can be slippery. During high tide, the water and waves can reach quite high, so keep that in mind. The castle itself is stunning, and I wish there were more information available about its history. The beach is very clean, but the shallow waters are rocky and may not be safe for swimming. Overall, it was a lovely visit!
Shahbaz S — Google review
We call it Pirate Tower Beach. The tower is fun to see. You can’t climb it or go in it, but it’s worth checking out. It’s to the right of the beach. You see tide pools and walk over rocks to get there. The beach is hard to find the first time you go there. Silver lining is that it keeps the beach less crowded. You park on PCH. You go in through the neighborhood, down stairs or a ramp. The ramp is pretty steep. I wouldn’t recommend bringing little kids/strollers. There are no bathrooms. We were there over Memorial Day weekend and there was a lifeguard. If you have little kids, better to go south to the beaches below The Montage. It has to be low tide to get to the tower. Definitely look up when low tide is before you go. There’s a pool on the way to the tower. I’ve only seen the pool filled with water once. Be careful of big waves because that’s how the pool gets filled. It’s a beautiful spot. I highly recommend checking it out if you’re in Laguna Beach.

Victoria Beach – A Hidden Gem in Laguna Beach Victoria Beach is hands-down one of the most breathtaking spots in Laguna Beach and a must-visit for anyone who loves coastal views, hidden landmarks, and a bit of adventure. Tucked away from the more touristy areas, this beach feels like a secret escape—with its stunning blue waters, soft sand, and of course, the iconic Pirate Tower, a historic stone structure that looks like it was pulled from a fairytale. What makes Victoria Beach truly special is how secluded and peaceful it feels. Whether you’re there to take photos, relax by the tide pools, or just enjoy the sunset, the vibe is serene and magical. The view from the shore is incredible, especially during golden hour. Tip for Access: To get there, head to the intersection of Victoria Drive and Sunset Terrace. Parking can be tricky, so aim for early morning or late afternoon and park in the surrounding residential streets (be mindful of permit-only spots). You’ll find a staircase down to the beach near 2713 Victoria Dr—just follow the signs and be ready for a short walk. Highly recommend bringing a camera, water shoes for the rocks, and your sense of adventure. This spot is a local treasure you’ll be glad you discovered.

Beautiful, secluded beach. We saw a pod of dolphins in May 🐬 One downside is that the concrete hill down to the beach is VERY steep: makes it difficult if you're bringing a cooler.

Beatifull beach and acces to pirate cove. Its long beach BUT you cant walk acros and exit back to road. There is only one patch where you can come and get out. We walked to another side and there is privat community and gate so you cant exit there.

This is a must visit spot! Beach is very clean and there is always a guard. Pirate tower is an awesome photographic place. Take the stairway and keep walking to the right to find the spot. Note: Walk with caution there is algae on rocks and might be slippery

pro- Pirate Tower when there is low tide, lifegaurds are friendly and nice and acutally helpful let me know to not walk all the way to the tower due to rougher waves, I asked if I could still take pictures he said yes. You reach beach under PCH street thru Victoria Lane that is down below in residential area under street bridge. con- little to no parking at all on streets, come early to grab a spot, also no changing rooms, no restrooms, no showers, I would walk up and over to the other beach by the hotel they have those services at bottom of hotel for the all the public, the hotel is called the montage u reach thru here on Western.

Crescent Bay Point Park in Laguna Beach offers stunning panoramic views of the ocean and a tide pool from its bluff. It's a popular spot for capturing breathtaking sunset photos, with the city bathed in golden light and the Pacific Ocean glistening below. This compact park features a large grassy knoll overlooking Crescent Bay, providing an ideal setting for a picnic while watching the sun dip into the aquamarine waters.
More of an overlook than a park, it’s still absolutely beautiful and worth going to. The views are incredible and it’s amazing places like this exist in the world.

Crescent Bay has been my favorite beach and the only beach I have taken my kids to for the past 20 years. My kids love looking at the sea urchins, small fish, crabs, etc when the tide is low. Parking can be somewhat of a pain at times but it's worth it!

Wonderful park with wide sweeping views of the Pacific and Laguna Beach area. If you are quiet and patient enough you can see dolphins, whales, birds, and so much more. This is a MUST see during the summer months in Laguna Beach!! The Irvine bowl does NOT have a bad seat in the house. It is like a miniature Hollywood Bowl but with a much more quaint feeling. The trees surrounding the bowl is undeniably beautiful at night. Before you enter the bowl make sure you arrive early to visit the art show and talk to the artist. They are charming and excited to sell you their art work. The Pageant of the Masters has been running over 90 years and continues to impress and get more creative every year. It started in 1933 and recreates famous artists paintings, sculptors and statues in a three-dee form. This year was about visiting all the famous museums in California and bringing them to life. Binoculars are a MUST to see the details of each scene. You may buy, rent or bring your own. This is definitely a unique and beautiful experience well worth seeing. Unfortunately no cameras or cell phones are allowed. Eat before you go or bring your own in a 14x14x14 cooler with goodies and drinks to share. YOU WON’T BE DISAPPOINTED!!! A MUST!!!

ALWAYS WONDERFUL, ALWAYS MAGICAL!!! The Pageant of the Masters and Festival of Arts are annual must see events! A great escape from the summer heatwaves to cool ocean breezes and mild temperatures of Laguna Beach. My favorite artwork is the Junior Art Exhibit with juried artwork from grade school to high school age children. Was very happy to see this years entries were much more imaginative and creative once again versus the years after COVID lock downs. We have a whole days outing in Laguna Beach so we have time to see the art festivals (Festival of Arts, the Junior Art Exhibit, The Sawdust Festival) and enjoy a great meal by the beach before we head to the Pageant in the evening. Love how they show you what goes in to setting up a scene with a painting as they place models in their make-up and costumes, roll down the backdrop, and place props in. It's amazing to see the real magic happen when they light the set to create the mood and color palette of the artist, to make real people look like a part of the painting. Be sure to bring a blanket or jacket, seat cushions and binoculars if you have them. Temperatures really drop after sunset.

Such a fun art festival and show ! Our family has made a tradition of going every year for decades now. We like to arrive early to enjoy the artisan booths prior to the show itself. We look forward to the different themes every year. This years’ was fantastic per usual! It is such an incredible mix of art and performance.
Kelly S — Google review
I attend the pageant every year for well over the past 10. I swear by last minute tickets and main tier left so you can get in and out easier. I always go mid August. The themes change and they have increasingly focused on more current (>1950s) and west coast art than in the past. Bring your own binoculars and plan for time before to walk around the exhibits. I usually park and eat by Lumberyard making a resi at 6pm. Occasionally there is parking available in the pricier lot on the right side just past theater. I just attended a music event and paid for the seats. With paid seats we had front and center about 3 rows back even at 445pm. Tables are for 4 or 6. It appears you can plan ahead and just pay the lower cost entrance fee but plan to arrive at opening which was 4 sharp - free tables and ampitheater seating is all first come. People brought full meals and many bottles of wine or alcohol in other containers. There is wine for purchase and possibly some concessions. I’d bring a table cloth and something to sit on as the wire seats were a bit uncomfortable after 3 hours. The night club seating is more like bistro seats. We also sat and mingled well after the concert and and had time to walk the exhibits in peace. Dancing happened to the far side of the stage. Most people stay seated.
Natasha F — Google review
Did the pageant masters, suggest more time to browse before the show. Also the closer center seating tickets the better. I just want to see the human factors involved and felt to far away we were left mid. There are themed events and music before the show. I need to go back cause I missed this. We came on a Monday evening. It was lovely with a slight chill in the air. As the orchestra brought out and highlighted the show beautifully. Bring a blanket, sweaters and maybe a snack!! Shuttle was easy, parking 5 bucks, we chose lot 16 for those with limited walking, this was doable distance about two football fields with rest in-between to get seated. Then you gotta return! So it can be smaller segments to walk if you plan ahead. I loved the featured artists works prior to the show. They were so interesting to talk to.

The Sawdust Art Festival in Laguna Beach is a long-standing event that has been supporting local artists for over 50 years. This renowned festival takes place over nine weeks during the summer, attracting more than 200,000 visitors annually. The festival features a handcrafted village with sawdust-covered streets and showcases various crafts such as ceramics and sculpture. Visitors can explore art booths featuring works by local high school students as well as pieces by established American artists.
I have wanted to come to this art festival since I can remember and I am just 30 minutes away. We went during the weekend day and to my surprise it was somewhat busy. They have two live bands playing every 15 minutes or so. They have tons of small art shops, each individually with its own artists 🎨 . We parked outside with paid parking. I paid $10 for 2 hours and 30 minutes, which I thought it wasn't that bad. They also have a food court. The food we ordered was good from Loco Taco; 3 tacos of carnitas and a strawberry 🍓 and banana 🍌 smoothie. We would definitely come back. Recommend for all ages.

The best art festival around. Outstanding art in a laid back approachable fun venue. Each booth is hand crafted out of wood amongst the trees, with wood chips on the ground. Live music enhance the joyful atmosphere along with outstanding eateries. Artists demo their work and there are lots of classes like pottery making along with live glass blowing. Lots of fun activities for children. Artists love sharing their craft and chatting with festival goers. It is a charming, joyful, energizing, must go festival for all ages. They even have a Christmas festival that is just as charming. I have been attending Sawdust for decades and thoroughly enjoy every time.

love going to art festivals and meeting the talented artists. The Sawdust Festival was very busy on the Sunday we went. Parking was really bad. It took us over half an hour to find parking and we parked quite far away. We purchased the tickets at the front. We went through the bag check and metal detectors without a hitch. It's really cute inside and I like how each stalls were decorated by the artists. I do find the prices a bit high but that was expected. We did buy a few small pieces during our visit. There were many seating areas scattered around and food options too.

Two of my girlfriends and I went to the Sawdust Art Festival because one of my friends wanted to buy two more pieces of jewelry from a vendor she had purchased jewelry from the week prior. We had such a great time. There were two live bands playing simultaneously in different locations for our entertainment. We had a bite to eat and some cocktails and listened to the music during our dinner. All of the different types of art was amazing and the artists were all very friendly when we had questions. It was a good happy relaxed vibe that day and my friends and I really enjoyed our time at the festival.

This place seems small but once inside, there’s a lot of stands selling all sorts of items. There’s clothing, pictures, glass, jewelry, 3D pictures, glass blowing and ceramic making. There are statues and displays around the area. They have live music that was fun to hear and eating areas to sit and enjoy. There’s even small water falls that are just lovely. It was very enjoyable. The parking area is small but you can park on the street for meter parking or a direct parking lot.

Every time we come into Laguna Beach, we go to the cliff restaurant first for the food and service it also since it’s very dog friendly with a dog menu. They have live music right outside. As spectacular views of the sunset. Steven, our server was fantastic and the food was amazing as always. It may be a little bit costly but well worth it. The food - amazing. The drinks - amazing. The service - amazing. The view - also amazing LOL. Tara was such a great server, so friendly and sweet and everything she recommended was so good! The only thing I will say (but this is not a reason to not come here immediately) is that for the price, I’d expect better/nicer tables and chairs… but truly not a deal breaker for this place.

We had a fantastic lunch at The Cliff! The oceanfront view is absolutely breathtaking dining under the blue umbrellas with the sound of waves crashing below made it such a relaxing and memorable afternoon. The food was fresh and delicious. We ordered the crispy calamari, which was perfectly cooked and served with tasty sauces and a squeeze of lemon so good! We also had creamy shrimp pasta and penne with marinara, both flavorful and satisfying. The refreshing drinks were the perfect touch for a sunny beachside lunch. One tip: Make sure to make a reservation or join the waitlist ahead of time. especially on weekends we were on the waiting list for 2 hours, but it was definitely worth it!

It wasn’t bad, but I am not sure I want to come back. I don’t like that calamari is a thick piece sliced into strips in a thickly breaded crust. Fish and chips were average.

Absolutely stunning experience! 🌅 The view at The Cliff is spectacularly awesome — the oceanfront setting alone is worth the visit. Watching the sunset from our table felt like something out of a dream. The food was delicious, fresh, and beautifully presented, and the service was friendly and attentive. Such a perfect spot for a relaxing meal with breathtaking scenery. Can’t wait to come back!

No more seafood tower. Waaagh! At least "The Clffdiver" bloody mary cocktail is still brimming with bacon, a shrimp and a claw. The Alaskan Halibut substitute for cod is a good thing. The Shrimp Cocktail was filled with cabbage upon which the cocktail sauce was poured and I wonder who thought of that because I didn't want to have cabbage in my shrimp cocktail and now I have so little sauce that my shrimp could be dunked. Scraped it off the cabbage best I could but what little I could extract was made watery for the effort. Sadly this is a departure from the norm for both the dish and the restaurant.

Located in the heart of Laguna Beach on the Montage Resort property, Treasure Island Park is a popular spot for various activities such as swimming, scuba diving, and tide pooling. The park features a convenient ramp for easy access to the beach, mild waves, and clear water where sea lions can be spotted.
Treasure Island Park is one of the most beautiful parks I’ve ever visited. It’s peaceful, scenic, and honestly feels like something out of a movie. Unlike Malibu, it’s more serene. Treasure Island Beach is absolutely stunning. The sand is soft, clean, and the whole place feels like a hidden gem tucked away on the coast. The views are breathtaking, with crystal clear water that makes it the perfect spot to relax, sunbathe, or take in the beauty of the ocean. Everything about the beach feels well-kept and inviting, which makes it stand out compared to many other crowded or less maintained beaches. That being said, the waves here are no joke they’re super choppy and can get rough fast. It’s definitely not the calmest water for a casual swim, so you need to be ready to handle strong surf. If you’re a confident swimmer, you’ll enjoy the challenge, but if not, it’s better to stay closer to the shore and just enjoy the scenery. Overall, Treasure Island Beach is a gorgeous and clean spot that’s perfect for a beach day, but go prepared to respect the power of the waves.

Table Rock Beach, located at 31681 Sea Bluff Ln., is a serene and secluded spot with stunning cliffs, sandy shores, and captivating sunset views. Accessible via a long wooden staircase, this hidden gem offers enticing tide pools and sea caves that attract locals. While not ideal for sunbathing or swimming, it's perfect for admiring the ocean and enjoying a peaceful sunset away from crowds.
One of the best beach-dating days. I don’t wanna see more! Go, and find it. All the wows should be slipped away from your mouth. Wow! Life is so good when nature is surrounded.

Absolutely stunning. This beach is by far the BEST beach in all of Laguna. Not only is the view breathtaking, there isn’t overcrowding like other more well-known beaches in the area. There are some stairs so this beach is not wheel-chair accessible (from what I know) so that’s something to keep in mind if that’s something necessary for you. However, I would 100% recommend anyone thinking of going to this beach to go. The water is relatively and very blue and beautiful. There’s plenty of space on the sandy area to layout a blanket or towel and have a nice time laying out. And the vibes are super mellow. Some beaches can be overstimulating but this beach was perfect and serene.

As a South Orange County resident, Table Rock Beach is, by far, one of my absolute favorite beaches to photograph on. I've captured everything here, from fashion photo shoots and high school seniors to intimate beach elopements and family portraits – you name it! While the power of the internet has certainly spread the word about this gem, its slightly more challenging access means it's still not overcrowded yet. This is a huge advantage, allowing for those perfect, undisturbed shots without too much intrusion from other people.

stunning!!! stunning. i took a dear sweet couple here for their engagement session. if you can brave the hill & stairs then it’s a lovely spot for a day at the beach. all photos by miranda tate photography

We got married on this beach and it was perfect! Park on Eagle Rock Way and then walk across the street to the beach entrance. You have to walk down quite a few steps, so be prepared. They start out as cement and transition into wood. It’s doable in a wedding dress and flip flops :) The water can be a bit dangerous in the area, so we stayed on the beach (plus we wanted to keep our clothes nice for photos). They had to close beach down for a while because some huge rocks fell. Luckily no one was hurt. It’s a beautiful beach and we picked the perfect place to get married! Just be careful and watch for falling rocks.

One of my favorite beaches in Southern California. In general, I would rather not too many people know about this beach so it does not get that crowded but it is an absolutely stunning beach. The water is a beautiful turquoise color and there are generally not too many people there. Parking isn't too bad if you park on the street or the neighborhood across the street. Be mindful and make sure you don't use sunscreen that can damage the environment. The water will only stay clear and clean if actively maintain it.

Table rock has to be my favorite beach at Laguna. Its beautiful scenery is so peaceful and it’s tucked away making it an even better escape. The waves aren’t too harsh and is perfect to swim. It gets deep quick so just be prepared for that. The walk up and down isn’t bad depending on the person and in my opinion is worth it.

Nick's Laguna Beach is a popular eatery known for its airy and open atmosphere, serving up Californian comfort food like fried asparagus spears and blackened halibut. As one of four high-end restaurants in the area, Nick's is renowned for its commitment to innovative, high-quality cuisine and drinks. The restaurant offers distinctly southern Californian dishes that blend American and south-of-the-border flavors for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
You need reservations if you plan on visiting. I made reservations for dinner and was seated exactly on time. I had Spencer as my waiter and he was fantastic. For dinner I ordered the Chilean sea bass, and it was perfection!!!!! The peace of fish was beautiful and perfectly cooked, cut like butter. My mashed potatoes were good but a little bit cold, spinach was decent. For dessert, I got the warm butter cake and it was really good as well. The interior was very different than expected. The place is very small and loud on the inside. I ended up sitting outside and it was extremely loud due to the street traffic plus the restaurant noise. I was able to tune it out but this is not the environment for quiet/intimate conversations. Overall absolutely love the food and would visit here again.
Jenn R — Google review
I had the Chilean Sea Bass and let me start by saying the fish was cooked to perfection. It was so soft and flaky and not dry in the slightest. The potatoes and spinach were good too, but nothing terribly special. The portion size was on the smaller side too. I don't eat a lot, and even I could have eaten just a little more so I think most will be left wanting more. And the interior was nice but as others have mentioned it is small and gets loud. If this were purely a review of the quality of the food, I would give it 5 stars easily. But for those other factors I subtracted one star. Overall still a great experience!

I brought my niece here for her birthday lunch, thinking they would sing or give her something little for her birthday since that’s what we were celebrating. I even said we were celebrating her sweet 16! I had asked at the front desk and they told me they would do something little for her. And then I also told the waitress, but what she got was a card wishing her a happy birthday. Very disappointing. I would’ve taken her somewhere else that would’ve saying or given her a little something. We got the clam chowder which she really liked. I thought it was good as well and it wasn’t overloaded with potatoes. You could see the calms so that was good. We also got the shrimp Taquitos and tuna tare tare. The shrimp Taquitos were crunchy & good. Good size on the shrimps. The tuna tare tare was good but chip ratio was off but she did bring is a couple more which was nice. It then took a little bit ringer our bill but it was good. But would probably try another restaurant next time.

I came here from DC, and this was the only place in Laguna Beach open until 11 PM! We had the chili pasta and crispy chicken. The pasta was incredible, flavorful with just the right amount of spice. I wasn’t a big fan of the crispy chicken served on bread, though. The atmosphere was nice but a bit noisy. Also, we didn’t have a reservation and just stopped by, ended up waiting about 45 minutes, so be prepared for a long wait if you come without booking ahead.
Fafa G — Google review
The restaurant is located across PCH from the beach. We made a reservation for 8:30am. Got there around 8:20, and there's already a line in front of us. It took a while to get the dishes we ordered. I think that's probably because the kitchen received too many orders at the same time. Anyway, food tastes great, and the service is prompt. This is a place worth visiting.
Wayne C — Google review
Food was great, on top of friendly service and warm atmosphere, our bill came up to almost or over $100 with 2 main dish, 1 appetizer which was the deviled eggs (chefs kiss) and 2 drinks. Pretty good restaurant for a casual/fine dining date too. It’s by a busy street although there’s parking structure 5 mins walk to the restaurant. Overall beautiful experience

Thank you so much to the Nick’s Laguna Beach team for making our first visit and birthday so special! We’re local to the area and always thought to stop in and it’s safe to say we will be coming back forever. Breakfast is amazing, we would recommend Omar’s Skillet for those that love savory. Coffee was always readily available, hot, and never “top off” neglected! Stephanie and our hostess were the absolute best!!! Come here for the great service, food, atmosphere. Parking is accessible at the garage behind.

My friend and I were doing a day trip to Laguna Beach, but we didn’t have a reservation at Nick’s. I had heard about it, so we decided to try our luck and check out the bar. We were able to find two seats next to each other after about ten minutes, and we were NOT disappointed by the food. It was all delicious. We got dirty martinis, the asparagus fries, the French dip, the kale and quinoa salad, and the butter cake. I would recommend every single thing we got. It was all cooked perfectly with delicious flavors. John and Diane took care of us, and they were both amazing too. It truly felt like old style customer service, which is so hard to come by. Im so glad this place lived up to its reputation! And get the potato salad as your side. Trust me.

Aliso Beach, located in Laguna Beach, is a popular destination known for its wide sandy shore and amenities. It offers ample parking off Pacific Coast Highway, making it convenient for visitors. Families and surfers frequent the beach to enjoy the easy waves and fine tidepooling along rocky promontories. The outdoor play area provides entertainment for all ages, while fire pits, picnic tables, and playground equipment add to the beach's appeal.
My favorite beach for little kids and to take friends from out of town. There is a beach cafe right on the beach, a playground for kids, tide pools, and lots to explore. Parking can be difficult in the summer so we like to come in the non summer months for great weather and no crowds.

Located in Laguna Beach, California, Treasure Island Beach is a stunning coastal gem with picturesque rock formations and tide pools. Situated near the Montage Laguna Beach Resort, it offers easy access to both the resort's amenities and the beach. Visitors can explore the unique rock formations and small coves along the shoreline, while low tide reveals mesmerizing tide pools teeming with marine life. However, caution is advised for swimmers due to strong riptides and undertow.
Absolutely gorgeous, one of our favorite places in Socal for sure. Because it's below a very expensive hotel the whole area to get there is kept in excellent condition, we love the way it's landscaped with many benches to sit and enjoy the view before to get to the beaches. They have machines that remove sand from the paved areas and they do a fantastic job at keeping it to high standards . There is a small covered parking lot, it's often full but there are other parking places close to the kids playground nearby . They charge for parking around 3 dollars per hour . There are restrooms with public access ( wich not always have paper to dry the hands ) and many outdoor places where to rinse feet or have a quick shower wich is super convenient and not something you find everywhere . There are a few access points to the beaches , and I would check the tide before choosing wich one going to. I remember at least 2 accessible ones although they are quite steep. Our favorite one it's a small section with rocks on both sides and sand in the middle , many people swim there because the waves are not as intense. There are seals . Please remember to respect the wildlife and don't go too close to them . I recommend to check for signs as sometimes bacteria levels are too high and it's better not to go in the water.

Our adventure at Laguna Beach began at Treasure Island Park, a coastal paradise perched above the ocean with panoramic views, perfectly manicured paths, and access to one of the area’s most beautiful beaches—Treasure Island Beach. This was perfect place for our mid morning relaxation. The cove-like beach features tide pools, sea caves, and soft sand framed by dramatic cliffs. . From there we took a scenic walk to Hobo Canyon - the trail area nestled in Laguna’s wild, hilly landscape. Hobo Canyon is perfect for hiking and reconnecting with nature. .

This is a gorgeous beach and landscapes. More beautiful than some beaches in Hawaii that I've seen. Very clean and well landscaping. We spotted 3 seals basking in the sun at once. Great family getaway. ❤️ 🏖 🌞 🕶

Very clean beach, but the sand is a little more coarse than others - still excellent. Drops off quickly into deep water. Nice little waves for a relaxing experience, and isn’t as busy as other beaches. Pick a good spot though away from the archways and the resort cabanas as lots of folks are snapping pics and it can get noisy and busy in those parts.

One of my favorite beaches in California! The walkway down to the beach has beautiful flowers and cactus and multiple lookouts- you can’t take a bad picture here! Not only did we love relaxing on the powdery sand with aqua waves but there are so many rock formations and tide pools to climb on and explore. We will be back again soon!

It was a spectacular day at the beach. It started out as overcasted, but the sun eventually came out this day in June. Treasure Island is a great place to bring your family as this beach seems to be more family friendly than Laguna Beach. Beware of the tide, as it is strong and can bring you down if you are walking near a strong waves. If you have children, most children play in the sand or discover the amazing tide pools near the rocks. There is a marine guide near the tide pools to tell you what you may sea in the tide pools that day. There is a telescope on spot where the marine guide shows you more marine life that you can spot unless you had binoculars. On this particular day, there was parent and their child looking at the tide pools. However, this child decided to go into the tide pools and play. The marine guide noticed that there was a child playing in the tide pools. The marine guide explained nicely that people are not allowed to disrupt the tide pools by touching or playing in them. I was shocked to see that the parent was not concerned about this as this parent patiently waited for the child to be done playing. Maybe the parent didn’t understand the language nor read the beach rules before entering Treasure Island Beach. In the future, it may help by placing a sign nearby the tide pools ,so that visitors read and understand they are not allowed to touch the tide pools.

The Pirate Tower in Laguna Beach is a hidden gem located on the rocks of Victoria Beach. This picturesque spot looks like something out of a fairytale and is perfect for Instagram-worthy photos. The tower serves as an enclosed staircase to a private cliff-top home and has an intriguing history, with previous owners including a California state senator, a Naval officer, and Bette Midler. Visitors can enjoy the quiet beach and stunning views while imagining their own stories about this mysterious stone turret by the Pacific Ocean.
The Pirate Tower in Laguna Beach is a hidden gem with a magical vibe. Nestled on Victoria Beach, it feels like stepping into a fairy tale. The 60-foot tower, built in 1926, adds a sense of mystery and history to the stunning coastal setting. Accessible only at low tide, reaching it involves a short but scenic walk along the beach. The crashing waves and rugged rocks make the spot incredibly picturesque. While the tower itself is locked and not open for entry, its presence is captivating. Perfect for photography enthusiasts or those seeking a unique beach experience. Parking can be tricky, so plan ahead. The area around the tower is often less crowded, offering some peaceful moments. A must-visit if you’re in Laguna Beach!

Gorgeous staircase built in the 1950's that has been dubbed "Pirate's Tower" The Beach is very nice with artificial Tide Pools enabling swimming holes for Kiddos. Only downfall is...WATCH THE TIDE! As far as Parking, I would recommend parking on PCH and walking to the stairway.

Go to Victoria Beach and climb up on the rocks on the north side of the beach. The tower is a short walk around the cliff corner. Be careful and don't climb on the rocks if there is a sign warning you not to because the waves can be high and choppy! The tower was cool looking, there aren't any info signs about it.

So amazing and worth a little hike!! There was someone on Google reviews that told us to park on pch and walk down the streets. It was helpful getting us there. We took the stairs back up instead of the road, I like the road better bevause you still have to walk up the road after the stairs.

You have to park off Pacific Coast Highway . Be careful not to step on the green alge. It's very slippery if you step on it. Safety 1st, so make sure you walk on the leveled rocks. Great photo ops when you arrive at the castle. Park as close to the intersection of Pacific Coast Highway (or South Coast Highway on street signs) and Victoria Drive (or Sunset Terrace) as you can. This is where you walk to the Laguna Beach Pirate Tower starts. Make your way down the street where it intersects with Sunset Terrace. On the right, in between two houses, you will find the stairway that leads to Victoria Beach

Imagine a woman living here all alone just immersed in her creativity. Her generous act of donating all this to the city of Laguna is truly a gift worth exploring.

The house is a fascinating step back in time, especially for MCM lovers. Our docents shared so many interesting tidbits about Hortense's home, all of the art works done by Hortense herself, and of course, the beautiful garden. It's also an ideal location for engagement sessions due to its stunning sunsets and convenient amenities like parking, showers, restrooms, and a small cafe.
Easy public parking (and inexpensive- I want to say it was $2/hr!). We had our 91 year old grandmother with us and getting to the beach was easy for her too. There were open public benches that we sat at while the kids played by the water. We didn’t realize we were not supposed to walk in the rocks or be near the water, but the lifeguards were very polite. It was a nice day at the beach!

Still a beautiful beach. It has a small parking lot that sometimes has spots open at off peak times of the day. Additional parking at the park across the street (use the pedestrian tunnel). Lots of happy memories here. This is a good spot to walk on the beach for a little while or to get a fire pit in the evening.

Beautiful little beach. Watch out for that tide! The waves come up very quick, and the sea will take what it can, especially shoes, toys, and KIDS. When I say the water comes up high, I mean almost to the parking lot. The entire area is family and pet friendly and even the officers are nicer than a sip of sweet tea on a hot summer day. $12 parking for all day parking too!

Simply, a stunning a place to spend the day on the Pacific Coast. Family friendly. Kids loved finding sand crabs. Close restrooms, although they were very dirty. We did arrive mid-afternoon and had to spend an hour looking for parking. Also, there are only 2 fire pits, and people arrive very early in the morning hours to stake their claim. For rentals, you'll need to make a reservation 24hrs. in advance, so plan accordingly.

Absolutely loved this beach, at this time of year not so many tourists, and not so busy it was great to get grounded in Mother Earth & just be in present to enjoy the majestic view & feel the waves. Water was cold but amazing and the waves were amazing people out surfing & just chilling.

Such a great spot for a family beach day. There’s a playground and restaurant nearby with bathrooms. Suggestion: get there at or before 10:30am to guarantee a parking spot, especially on weekends. Otherwise, it’s a madhouse.
Taylor M — Google review
Very accessible beach with paid ($3.65 an hour) parking. Lifeguards on duty. Upper beach area is flat and ample, the water rolls in to a rather steep beach area. Walking along the waters edge may be difficult and tiring for some because of this rather steep angle at the waters edge. There is plenty of beach to walk, sun bathe, visit and picnic upon. Arrive early, parking fills up fast. There were signs placed by the lifeguards warning to stay off the rocks in the surfs path. Intense wave activity today, made it unsafe to be climbing on the rocks. Bathroom facilities as well as a restaurant are onsite. Though I do not surf, there were numerous others that were. It does appear that this beach is a favorite of the suffing crossed. Land based photographers as well as a couple of drones were being used to capture their wave rifing attempts.

Such a wonderful family beach! Once again Aliso beach didn't disappoint. I recommend getting there early for a fire pit. Victoria Beach, located in Orange County, is a unique and popular destination known for its diverse marine life and picturesque features. The beach offers various types of tide pools where visitors can observe anemones, mussels, castle worms, snails, and other marine creatures. One of the distinctive attractions at Victoria Beach is the 60-foot-tall pirate tower that once served as a staircase to the beach for a homeowner living above the bluffs.
This is a very beautiful and relatively small, cozy beach. You have to park on PCH, then take a short walk through a beautiful neighborhood and find a stairwell down to the beach. At the bottom of the stairs to the left is the beach, but if you go right and trek across the rocky path you will get to Pirates Tower, which was very cool to see. Careful where you step though, I almost stepped on a starfish that was washed up on the rocks. I can imagine the views are gorgeous at sunset, but I went in the morning and it was still nice.

I visited in April and was lucky to find it beautifully quiet and peaceful — no big crowds, just the sound of the ocean and the perfect beach vibe. The entrance is a bit tucked away, but once you make your way down, you are welcomed by a breathtaking coastline framed by rocky cliffs, soft white sand, and swaying palm trees from the park area above. Highlights: • The Pirate Tower: A visit to Victoria Beach wouldn’t be complete without checking out the iconic Pirate Tower! Nestled right against the rocks, it looks like something straight out of a fairy tale. If you come around low tide, you can walk right up to it. It’s even better in person than in the pictures! • Photoshoot Magic: During my visit, I stumbled upon a professional photoshoot happening near the cliffs. Honestly, it’s no surprise — the dramatic rock formations, golden light, and serene setting make this a photographer’s dream. • Peaceful Atmosphere: Unlike some of the busier beaches nearby, Victoria Beach offers a sense of privacy and calm. Perfect for relaxing, reading, or just enjoying the beauty of the Pacific. • Easy Parking: There’s street parking available close to the beach access point. It wasn’t difficult at all during my visit, and the walk down is lined with beautiful palm trees and stunning views. • Local Tip: After your beach time, stop by Ruby’s Diner just a short walk up the hill! It’s a classic 1950s American diner — the perfect spot to grab a juicy burger, a handmade milkshake, or an amazing Fudge Brownie Sundae. Final Thoughts: Victoria Beach is a magical, picture-perfect spot that feels both adventurous and peaceful. Whether you’re visiting for the Pirate Tower, snapping some epic photos, or just soaking in the sun by the cliffs, it’s an absolute must-see when in Laguna Beach. I’ll definitely be back — and I highly recommend visiting during springtime if you want to experience this slice of paradise without the crowds!

I love this beach literally a 2 hour ride for me but I would come evrytime. Water is so blue, very clean. The break wall was great for the kids it creates a little room at medium tide. No bathrooms though

It’s a one of the best beaches between LA & San Diego. You can explore a pirate tower and then chill at the natural huge bath with a waves of the sea ocean:) (especially when no kids around) and then you can send a bunch of pictures straight to @National Geographic amazing views, beach, birds, blue water, whatever you want:)

It was a little crowded but still a favorite beach to go to because of how clear the water is year around. Not to mention it's a super clean beach.

I like Victoria Beach, it's peaceful here, and not crowded.
Mia S — Google review
This beach is absolutely stunning! The only way the public can access this beach is you have to go down Victoria road through the neighborhood. The road goes under a bridge and then you meander over to the left to get to the beach.
Geena — Google review
It is so worth the hike to the Pirate Tower. Wear water shoes as it was difficult in flip flops. We walked down the stairs at the Montage. It's an easy walk. Mind the tide so you don't get stuck. You can chill in the pool like area when the water is coming in, which is super relaxing.

The Ocean Institute, originally known as the Orange County Marine Institute, is a coastal visitor center dedicated to marine education and conservation. Founded in 1977, it aims to teach children about marine science and California's diverse ecosystem. The institute offers interactive exhibits on oceanography and hosts school programs, day camps, overnight experiences, and boat excursions such as themed pirate ship trips and wildlife cruises.
I came here for a school field trip. It was one of the best field trips I had. The best part wad the 2 hour "cruise" where we spotted dolphins and whales. Very cool.

My daughter had fun checking out the touch tanks, jellyfish, and “cleaning” the gray whale skeleton. You could brush it with a toothbrush. The gift shop is the nicest thing about it. The staff is friendly and informative. I just wish they would renovate the property. It’s such a neat building and location, but the place is very rundown. I’m hopeful to see if they clean it up with harbor renovations happening and moving Coffee Importers down there.

What an incredible place! We all found the Ocean Institute very educational and fun! The facilities are beautiful. All the staff and volunteers were super friendly and taught us a lot. Definitely worth the visit.
Kay — Google review
The Ocean Institute may not be as large or as fancy as other marine-based attractions, but that is a large part of its charm. Though small, it packs an amazing amount of information and exhibits into its space. Volunteers and employees are friendly and knowledgeable--the touch tanks have staffing to ensure there are no "Finding Dory" moments for their occupants. Teir new estuary walk is beautiful and informative. In addition, the Ocean Insititute offers an unbelievably affordable ($40 pp includes the tour and museum entry) marine life tours on their craft--we chose the 2.5 hours Whale Watching/Dolphin tour. We found plenty of space on the boat, and again, crew were first rate: helpful, kind, and informative (even when reminding people not to straddle the anchor chain multiple times!). We found ourselves extraordinarily fortunate to see both bottlenose dolphins and "common" dolphins (a nursery pod!)--everyone on the ship had the opportunity to view these beautiful creatures. Even their gift ship is exemplary, with unique items instead of the same four stuffies you see at every amusement park or aquarium, necklaces, other jewelry, and plenty of books, maps, and educational materials. Their location right next to a well-rated coffeehouse/bakery means you have an entire day in a gorgeous location with fantastic food and wonderful people.

Enjoyable and educational. Kid friendly, but much of interest for the serious adult too. Absolutely beautiful location near the harbor in Dana Point, CA. There is also a beautiful beach and jetty just outside. It's definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.

Thank you Michael! This was our first time snorkeling and it was amazing and felt super safe in the hands of mike! He showed us sea grass, kelp and small critters. He gave us clear instructions while making the experience super fun and welcoming, he was very reassuring and outgoing, definitely coming back to do it again and again, and will be recommending this place to everyone here in vegas! The downside was parking, we arrived at 11:40 for our 2pm appointment and didnt find a spot until 1:40, I'd say arrive with extra time and take the time to walk around and get ready to get in the ocean. A super huge thank you to mike! Keep doing what you do!

My wife and I went to the Tall ship Sail festival 9-12-21. Is there such a thing as having too much fun? Not really. After all that has happened over the last 2 years, this festival screamed "have fun now". Large crowds, fantastic shuttle service, sailing on the ships for the "canon battles", helping hoist the main sail!! So many activities for everyone, even the children. Overhearing families talk about experiences, their children talked about what they did and the fun they had. This was what was needed, not to be missed. Even the those that worked for the Ocean Institute were friendly, loved to interact with the visitors. Thank you Jim for talking with us before the sail event and even looking us up after the event, asking about our adventure. This meant a lot too my wife and I. I was told about programs and camps for children and youths during the summer. Worth checking out parents. Fun was what the doctor ordered, I was not disappointed and would love to do it again in an heartbeat. The only con was, (not their fault), was the food trucks. Now that was disappointing. Basic food for the cost of an arm and leg!!! Was not anywhere near worth it. Better to have brought your own food. We had the BBQ food truck, something "down" in the title. How bad it was, I forgot the name. 44 dollars for 2 sandwiches and 1 order of fries. The fries was the only good thing, basically from the season salt seasoning. Otherwise, fantastic time!!!!!! Beautiful place!! Check it out!

I loved the tall ship festival this year! The only suggestion is some sort of shade while lined up for the cannon battle on the asphalt for 45 minutes in the scalding heat. We almost bailed 40 minutes into that but am so glad we didn’t. The battle was great!

Laguna Canyon Winery, nestled in Laguna Beach, California, has been a beloved fixture in the community for over a decade. Founded by J.J Huber with an Italian-themed vision, this boutique urban winery offers tastings and bottle sales in a charming setting. The Huber brothers' dedication to their dream since 1993 is evident in the premium grapes sourced from Napa and Sonoma Valleys that go into crafting each unique blend bursting with smooth flavors.
I had a fantastic experience at the Laguna Beach Winery tasting room! The atmosphere was inviting and vibrant, making it a perfect spot to unwind. Cole, our host, was amazing—his knowledge of the wines and the winemaking process truly enhanced our visit. He was not only informative but also incredibly kind, making us feel right at home. I highly recommend this winery to anyone looking for a delightful tasting experience!

Tried the Napa Valley Wine passport the last two years and I can say without a doubt this has been the best wine experience I have had. The best winery and service I have ever experienced! Tucked away in the beautiful Laguna Beach Canyon, this intimate boutique winery was the perfect setting to celebrate my 60th milestone birthday. The owner and his staff were gracious, kind, and incredibly accommodating. The wines were exceptional, and the cheese platters were absolutely delicious. It’s a wonderful place to sit back, unwind, and savor the afternoon. I cannot recommend it enough—thank you, thank you, thank you!

We had an amazing time at Laguna Canyon Winery’s All Red Tasting Journey. It started with a refreshing glass of California Rosé sparkling wine and a brief video about the winemaking process. The charcuterie board paired perfectly with the premium wines. The staff was knowledgeable, the setting cozy, and the tasting experience was well-paced and educational. I’d highly recommend this to any wine lover, especially if you’re into bold, complex reds. Great value and a great selection — we'll definitely be back! 🍷

We tried the regular wine tasting option this afternoon. I loved the ability to dispense my own wine selections through the machines in either 1, 2, or 5 ounce portions so I could sample as many wines as I desired. As a red wine fan, I especially enjoyed the Grenache. Be sure to check this place out!

This annual event, held for over 85 years, features a diverse array of artworks from more than 200 local artists, including paintings, jewelry, ceramics, photographs, sculptures, and art glass. The festival also offers demonstrations, workshops, and entertainment throughout the summer season.
Cannot beat the ambiance, creativity, design, sounds and location! First day of opening delivered! Great Americana genre band. 7/9/3 Mad Dogs & The Englishmen (music of Joe Cocker) was entertaining that added to the social atmosphere. Also had a great char broiled like cheeseburger that was excellent.

Really high class event center. Came to enjoy a Latin Jazz show. However the space is a mixed use spot. Part of the place is a gallery for local and regional artists. restrooms are super clean so that's always a plus. They have an onsite restaurant but when there's a show you can bring your own food for a picnic if you want. Staff can be somewhat pushy since people complain when you are saving spots for your group for an event. Parking is a nightmare however and do whatever you can to find parking wherever you can. Other than that it's a very fun spot and I recommend this spot to see an event.

Very interesting arts there. Admission fee is $15. Many parking lots and street parking spaces. Taking pictures is allowed but close-up for each art.

This is an amazing art festival that I had no idea was even there. I had assumed the Festival of Arts applied to the pageant that took place here. The art displayed is far superior in quality to the Sawdust Festival across the street and equal to the Art Affair. The festival also displays the art of grade and high school students of Orange County which had some very impressive works.
Donald G — Google review
Been going to festival for 20+years and always found the festival to be a positive experience Tonight we went to pick up our pageant tickets and view the art, we stopped to listen to the live music and during this time had a very unpleasant experience with a staff member I had set my drink on an empty table to clap for the band and was rudely reprimanded for doing so. Really put a damper on our evening. Would be much appreciated if they would put signs on their furniture!

Doheny State Beach is a charming beachfront park situated near the scenic San Juan Bay, managed by the State of California. Accessible via Dana Point Harbor Drive and Park Lantern, it features two distinct public beach areas divided by the picturesque San Juan Creek. The beach offers opportunities for swimming, beginner surfing, and stand-up paddleboarding with gentle waves from the nearby bay.
This is such a beautiful beach, and park. Great camping amenities. My favorite thing about it is the covered picnic areas with grills, and fire pits. I attend 12 steps meetings here and absolutely love the energy with the ocean in view, it's a wonderful location to focus on recovery.

Great walk paths within the park and extending south to capristrano beach, in and put of the water canal trails leading to mission viejo. for all bikers, Joggers runners and walkers. 3. a great eatery thats seeves beer and drinks and local plates right on the besch front. 4. tables and grills are widely available 5. life guard stations manned and ready 6. break water that's accessible and provides extraordinary views sounds and resting points. 7. for all ages, kids adults and for seniors. 8. surfing, paddling, swimming and sunbathing 9. downtown area provides places to grab some grub siteseeing , and window shopping 10. couple hours of entertainment for the family or by yourself a strong 4.5 to 4.75 missing... beach firepits, water fountains and more shower spots closer to the beachfront .

We had such a wonderful time at Doheny State Beach! We came with our 3-year-old son and it was the perfect spot for a family day. The beach is clean, safe, and easy to access. The waves near the shore are gentle, which made it great for little ones to splash and play without us worrying. There are plenty of picnic areas with shade, which made snack time and breaks really comfortable. Our son loved running around in the sand and watching the surfers further out in the water. The bathrooms were well-kept and convenient to get to, which is always a huge plus with a toddler. We also appreciated the family-friendly atmosphere—lots of other kids and families enjoying the day, but it never felt overcrowded. It’s such a relaxed environment, and parking was simple too. We’ll definitely be coming back. Doheny State Beach is now one of our go-to spots for a safe, fun, and stress-free beach day with our little one! 🌊☀️👶

We stopped there during our morning walk to the beach, and while used to the coastline beaches, we really enjoyed our time here. Besides being conveniently located within Dana point, it has a decent surf spot, highly frequented though and a few good amenities (picnic area, toilets…) - there is also a large paid parking in case you drive down there.

Urth Caffe is the realization of a dream that began over 30 years ago, when Jilla and Shallom Berkman met a passionate Peruvian coffee farmer named Jorge. The cafe serves fresh, responsibly grown organic heirloom coffee and hand-blended fine organic teas in an upscale environment. It's a local favorite for its health-conscious food, pastries, and charming garden patio with views of the Laguna Art Museum.
Urth Caffé in Laguna Beach has a beautiful, laid-back vibe with great outdoor seating and ocean air. We ordered the **avocado pizza**, **honey vanilla latte**, and **pistachio latte** — everything was fresh and flavorful. The avocado pizza was light but satisfying, and both lattes were smooth and unique (the pistachio milk really stands out!). The café does get very busy, so expect a bit of a wait during peak hours. Staff were friendly, but service was a little slow. Prices are on the higher side, but you’re paying for quality ingredients and the coastal location. Overall, it’s a great spot for a relaxed brunch or coffee break. Would definitely come back!

I had a chicken sandwich with cilantro and pesto it was good, though not perfect. I also ordered a pistachio coffee; it was nice but a bit too sweet. Overall, I liked the place for a first visit. It was definitely worth trying at least once.

I really wanted to love this place - I got the chocolate/pistachio croissant, it was alright. The matcha was really good. But if you want to sit outside, be prepared to be SWARMED by birds. Within 2 minutes of me sitting outside, a pigeon landed on my actual plate of food. So safe to say I immediately left, without getting to eat the rest of my meal. (I have a major fear of birds) - and everyone around me was experiencing the same thing. - the staff was friendly, but def didn’t seem phased by this.

Great Location, but Limited Selection and a Bit of a Wait Urth Caffé in Laguna Beach has a beautiful setting and a lot of potential—perfect for a coastal coffee break or dessert run. I stopped by craving a scone and something sweet to go, but was disappointed by the limited selection in the bakery case. The café was pretty busy, and while the staff was doing their best, the wait time was longer than I expected. After standing in line for a while and not seeing what I came for, I ended up leaving without ordering. I’ve had great experiences at other Urth locations, so I’d give this one another try—but next time I’ll come with more patience and a backup plan.

Shaws Cove, a hidden gem within Laguna State Beach Marine Preserve, is a beloved spot for locals. This small beach offers abundant marine life and is perfect for activities like swimming, snorkeling, and scuba diving. Adjacent to Fishermans Cove, it provides a serene and picturesque setting with tranquil shores and rugged cliffs. Its intimate seclusion makes it an ideal place for a heartfelt declaration of love or simply enjoying the natural beauty without distractions.
Nice little beach with lots of tide pools to explore, short drive from Irvine/Anaheim area. No designated parking, it's best to park on residential streets to the north, then take find the stairway that leads you down to the beach. Best to visit at low tide. It's fun to watch tide come in as waves crash through the network of rocks.
Daniel F — Google review
Shaw's Cove utterly captivated me from the moment I arrived. Just a stone's throw from the bustling activities of the coast, this beach felt like my own private haven. The first thing that struck me was the clarity of the water; it was like gazing into a turquoise gem. The gentle waves were perfectly inviting, making it an ideal spot for snorkeling, swimming, scuba diving and boogie boarding! However, this beautiful beach has a couple of potential downsides. One hiccup was the lack of bathroom facilities on-site, which I found a bit inconvenient. Furthermore, the descending steps to the beach ran alongside a sewage pump building — not the aromatic welcome I had in mind! However, a little whiff of reality didn’t detract from my beach day too much. I truly appreciated the quieter atmosphere, especially during the weekdays when the beach was notably less crowded. The rocky coastlines and tide pools were an absolute thrill to explore! There’s much to see if you choose to stay topside as well, from unique rock formations to those delightful tide pools teeming with life. Parking was no hassle! I parked for free along the street in the nearby neighborhood, a pleasant perk that added to the convenience of my visit. Overall, Shaw’s Cove is an absolute gem for those seeking a day filled with adventure and stunning views.

Tide pools and deep water (20+ ft) snorkeling to the right. Small snorkel-able kelp forest also to the right, about 30 feet past the rock outcropping in 15-20 feet deep water.

Amazing snorkeling spot in Laguna Beach! Shaws Cove and Fisherman’s Cove are reef-protected, so the waters stay calm, clear, and safe for beginners, but still full of excitement for experienced snorkelers. I saw stingrays, leopard sharks, and tons of Garibaldi in the reef canyons — the marine life here is incredible. Easy access with stairs at the end of Fairview Street, and the swim between the coves makes this one of the best snorkeling spots in Southern California. Even when other places are rough and unclear this place stays pretty clear, great options for rough days 🙌 We showcased these underwater spots on YouTube @hikebtes showing step by step access points, and a guided virtual underwater tour of the reef system with tips to stay safe. Highly recommend for anyone looking for clear visibility, calm waters, and tons of sea life.

Love going to my grandmothers house.! It's the best view and love to enjoy the scenery. This was Xmas dinner from above Shaws Cove.
John K — Google review
Beautiful beach! The water is clear and the waves weren’t too rough. There aren’t any bathrooms which is unfortunate, although the steps down to the beach smell like it since you pass a sewage pump building. It’s a bit too busy to be considered a hidden gem, but it wasn’t overly crowded. Exploring all the rocks and tide pools was really cool, there’s plenty of marine life to be found if you look close enough. Free parking is available on the street in the neighborhood near the stairs.

Came across some helpful hints WHEN you are caught in the dangerous riptide that is at this beach nearly all the time. "Without knowledge of proper safety measures, a strong current can turn a relaxing day at the beach into a deadly nightmare. Here are some tips for surviving a rip current: -Do not try to swim against the current, but rather at a 34-degree angle relative to the wind, increasing by a factor of five for every 10 millibars above 100 of barometric pressure. -Never get in the water unless your private security personnel are on duty. -Avoid swimming in dangerous areas where the moon’s gravitational pull causes tides to rise and fall. -Endear yourself to the rip current by explaining that you are 80% water. -Try to escape the rip current by getting caught in the undertow. -Fight the urge to remain calm—you’re drowning, this is a big deal. -If you get tired, see how you feel after a refreshing gulp of seawater. -Accept that you are beginning a new life at sea." (The Onion)

Secret Magic Movie-set Beach Stumbled on this place back in 1994 while I was in the Marine Corps. Over the years it has changed but for the better...the entrance got an upgrade several years ago and is now so colorful and beautiful. Bougainvillea and winding paths. A bench overlooking the stunning view and a staircase that seems to lead to the edge of infinity. Keep the location quiet...I want this to be as special for you as it is for me!

BEST BEACH at lacuna beach. Hard to find parking but if you find, go there! Its smaller beach than others but best looking and you dont need to be alone lol.
KOTKALLE O — Google review
I had high hopes for Woods Cove Beach, but it was a huge disappointment. To get down to the sand, you have to navigate a long, steep set of stairs — a real challenge if you have kids, a lot of beach gear, or mobility issues. Once you finally make it down, there are no bathrooms or facilities, which is incredibly inconvenient if you’re planning to spend more than a short time there. There also were way too many people. The water itself has a strong rip current, making it unsafe for swimming, especially for families with younger kids. And to top it off, the shallows are covered in sharp submerged hard to see rocks that make it nearly impossible to enjoy playing in the water. I tried to wade in and stubbed my toe on a rock and ended up with a cut :( The waves are also super rough and you will find yourself being pulled out to sea! I saw the lifeguard have to rescue several strong swimmers who were overconfident in their abilities. With so many beautiful beaches in the area that are more accessible and comfortable, I wouldn’t recommend making the trip to Woods Cove and instead would go to main beach which has restrooms, no stairs and volleyball courts!

Nestled along the shore of Laguna Beach, Surf & Sand Resort offers a luxurious beachfront escape with posh rooms and suites boasting private furnished balconies and stunning ocean views. The resort features an ocean-view pool with drink service, a lavish spa offering pampering treatments, and the acclaimed Splashes restaurant serving fresh California-inspired cuisine overlooking the Pacific.
My husband and I had drinks and then dinner at the bar and restaurant. What a fabulous experience. The staff was exceptional, Mathias greeted us and remembered our anniversary. Jasmin and Kody were also excellent always serving us with a genuine greeting. The food was delicious and the view breathtaking. We loved every moment. Oh, Katie too was great, she led us the bar and then greeted us by name when we came back upstairs for dinner. Highly recommend.

Big shout out to the entire staff here at Surf and Sand. Ken Watson Ali @ concierge Michael @ valet Devon @ bell Hannah @ front desk Everyone here was outstanding, including the gentleman in housekeeping who showed up to our room with coffee AND water midway through the morning rush. Services were excellent, food was fresh and delicious. The pool and hot tub areas kept perfectly clean and water at the perfect temperatures. A safe place with a beautiful and friendly Doberman as part of their security team. My partner and I will also be writing a more formal review on TripAdvisor and submitting the guest survey. Thanks for reminding us what traveling and vacationing should feel like!!! It was tough to leave.

We had an amazing dinner at Splashes to celebrate my wife’s birthday, and everything exceeded our expectations. The food was absolutely delicious — every dish was beautifully presented and full of flavor. The service was outstanding from start to finish; the staff were attentive, warm, and made us feel truly welcome. What really touched us was the surprise birthday pudding with a candle that they prepared for my wife — such a thoughtful and sweet gesture! It made the evening extra special and memorable. Thank you, Splashes, for making our celebration so wonderful. We’ll definitely be coming back and recommending this place to our friends and family! 🎂✨

This resort is truly one of the most beautiful I’ve had the pleasure of visiting. From the moment we arrived, the staff greeted us with warm smiles and genuine kindness. Every request throughout our stay was handled promptly, and they went above and beyond by surprising my sister with a thoughtful birthday gift. Our room, located on the second floor, offered breathtaking ocean views and the soothing sound of the waves. The entire experience was wonderful, and I would highly recommend this resort, it is absolutely worth it.

We stayed at Surf and Sand Sept 12-14, 2025 for a special occasion. I arrived at noon and was not given a room until 4:30pm and was only given a room after I asked the status at that time. There was also confusion on where the room was located. The resort was very nice and we enjoyed the amenities. The pool staff was spot on and removed towels after 30 minutes if you were not using your chairs so all guests got to enjoy the pool and did not park their towels on the chairs the entire day as most resorts allow. We definitely enjoyed this policy. Also, Saturday after returning to our room at 6:30 pm housekeeping was still cleaning our room?? They were kind enough to give me a late check out after explains the late check in and the concierge recommended great restaurants. After checking, out I contacted the hotel immediately that day when I realized I left my brand new Louis Vuitton perfume next to the sink in the bathroom. It took them a couple of days to confirm it was not found. I stay in hotels 300 nights a year and have only left something behind 3 times. All three times, it was turned in and fed exed to me. I found it very disappointing that it was not turned in, especially, at such a high end hotel. It is a beautiful resort but we expected 5 star service and we feel we only received that at the pool.

My experience was perfect. Beautiful room overlooking the ocean. Dinner is a MUST at the hotel restaurant- Sand & Surf Splashes. Alfredo and Aiden were incredible. Alfredo suggested the cheesecake dessert which is a unique, perfectly balanced treat I will make the trip back to have again. Please never remove this from the menu! Alfredo, a special thank you to you. What a wonderful blessing you are to CA !

The Surf and Sand: Stunning Location, Disappointing Service The Surf and Sand's oceanfront location is genuinely spectacular—the kind of view that justifies five-star pricing. Unfortunately, the service quality falls far short of the property's premium positioning. Dining Issues: Our concierge recommended Splashes despite acknowledging recent reconstruction concerns, claiming they'd received no complaints. The reality was a severely limited menu with overpriced, overly rich dishes that didn't justify the cost. When we expressed concerns, no alternative dining options were suggested. Cancelled Services: Multiple advertised amenities failed to materialize. Morning yoga and other scheduled activities were cancelled without advance notice. Most frustratingly, a spa facial appointment booked a month in advance was cancelled when the aesthetician simply didn't show up. Billing Problems: Despite prepaying for our room, the hotel placed a $1,300 hold on our card for "incidentals"—an unusually high amount for a one-night stay. Additionally, the spa charged $148 for the cancelled facial service, and spa staff couldn't locate any record of the charge when we inquired. Bottom Line: While the oceanfront setting is undeniably beautiful, the property's operational issues—from unreliable service to questionable billing practices—don't support its five-star reputation. The location alone isn't enough to justify the premium pricing when basic hospitality standards aren't met.

The quality, comfort, and unique ocean front experience made it a memorable and relaxing getaway. We got the ocean front room at the tower, it felt like floating over the ocean. Falling sleep and waking up to the sound of waves made the experience unforgettable and incredible peaceful. From the moment we arrived, the service was warm, attentive, made us feel like home. The front desk host Hannah was very professional and helpful! The best part is order in room dining and enjoy these on the patio with the ocean view. The property was recently renovated, the room was beautifully designed, felt spacious.

Dana Point Harbor is a picturesque destination that offers a variety of activities and dining options. The harbor works closely with local fishermen and farmers to provide fresh ingredients for its restaurants, which boast an impressive selection of American whiskey. Stand-Up Paddle Boarding is popular here, with Baby Beach being a great spot for beginners to launch their boards. Visitors can also enjoy boat cruises, kayaking, picnicking, whale and dolphin watching, as well as hiking along the scenic trails around the harbor.
Wonderful place triangle very clean plenty of parking. Amazing land, landscaping, and grass. There are grills and sitting areas you can just set up for a day picnic.

This is a beautiful harbor and gorgeous place along the California coast. I wish I had spent more time in Dana point. Gives me a reason to come back again for a little time away. Lots of people boarding and clean clear water. Lots of parking and nice park area to walk around and see the sights.
Fishing C — Google review
Personal take: I love starting the day with a harbor cruise spotting marine life, then grabbing lunch in the Lantern District. Afternoons are best spent surfing at Doheny or strolling the Headlands Trail. Evening is for sunset drinks by the marina or listening to music at the Ohana Festival. It’s refreshing, not overpoweringly touristy, and every day feels relaxed and rewarding. Quick pro tip: Go mid-week if you can, harbor parking is easier, beaches are quieter, and everything flows at that calming Dana Point pace. Bottom line: Dana Point is a SoCal gem, cozy coastal charm, unforgettable ocean adventures, and relaxed vibes without the crowds.

Bluebird Park is a city park located in Laguna Beach, renovated in 2003 with an outer-space theme and artistic creations. The park features sports courts, a children's play area, picnic tables, and a summer concert series. It is known for its unique climbing structures and art installations, including a glass-mosaic tortoise and colorful play equipment integrated with native plants. This hidden gem offers great playground equipment and is popular among locals for its sunny hillside location.
We had another awesome day with Grandkids at Bluebird Park! The park is in such a pretty setting, equipment is well maintained and provides hours and hours of fun and activity for kids. Beautiful flowers and foliage surrounds the entire park! This time, we had an added bonus with a free concert in the park!
Steve K — Google review
Great little playground for kids of all ages. Parking is a bit tough but the kids loved it!
Steve S — Google review
I think this place is the garden of Eden. Perhaps the reason it’s so serene is the cheapest house for sale is in the area is 2.85 million as of this posting. The rocket ship structure is amazing and then the smaller play structure with sand and swings is perfect for younger kids. Two different types of slides exist further down and are really fun. The plants and trees are spectacular. The neighbors have lemon trees with lots of lemons. There’s a small walking path and a decent sized grassy area. The bathrooms are decent, too. If you have small kids, this place is a must if you are in the area.
Jacob B — Google review
The kids had fun but made up their own games instead of actually using the various playground. Cute playgrounds for various ages. A basketball area and grass area. Bathrooms also.
Emily N — Google review
Bluebird Park has so much for kids to do and explore. The main draw is the chance to play in a rocket shaped playground. There is also a lot of other equipment to climb on too. One area had a couple of tunnels to go through, and climb on top of. Another area had a smaller playground designed for younger kids. There are also a couple of really cool slides built on the hillside, though one is metal, so you might want to test it out first before hitting that one. There is an art feature of a turtle made with mosaic tiles. It is really colorful, and interesting for the kids. Something that had me a little on edge is that there are a lot of different areas kids can run off to, so keeping an eye on everyone might be tricky. Especially if they are older and younger. Having said that, there is a gate, and the area felt secure. My kids enjoyed it, and have already been bugging me to take them back with other friends, and relatives. I’m looking forward to another peaceful adventure at Bluebird Park where imagination can take control of our little astronauts.

Coolest park ever!! Our family had a blast! So much to do and see here. I love that there is so much area to explore. Our kids needed a break from the beach and this was perfect! Only issue was parking. That can get a little tricky. Other than that I would highly recommend.

Thalia Street Beach in Laguna Beach is a mellow town beach known for its wide, sandy shoreline and sweeping views, making it popular among surfers. It's famous for its gentle surf break, making it an ideal spot for surfing beginners. The beach is also great for skimboarding and stand-up paddleboarding, but swimming and bodyboarding are not allowed due to the intense swell and rip current.
Nice sand and ample space for sunbathing, playing soccer or volleyball. Beach is close to restaurants and cafes. Not great for physically impaired people as there are stairs to get down.

This is what $15,000 will buy you from this gallery. I have an extensive collection, and here are 4 examples, of artists proofs that I spent close to $50,000 on and most of them look like this. The gallery has not taken any responsibility and I have no choice but to turn it over to an attorney. So disappointing!
Paul F — Google review
Very high quality art. They take a lot of care in what they do. As to the status, I really like that as well. But style is so personal. That's hard to review. Quality, that's more factual. They are a high quality for sure. :) The pictures don't do justice. Also just because these photos are essentially statues of bugs, please don't think that's all they have. Their art work is fabulous and more centered around natural scenes, with a very nice twist to each one.

Amazing place I absolutely love it so Laguna Beach. I enjoyed live music, great atmosphere comfortable seating with heat lamps. Generous pours of wine. Amazing service. They even got me treats for my dog. I tried the Masters flight tasting with some amazing cheese and crackers. My server Agnes was delightful and so attentive. It was not expensive, considering the quality of wine and food and presentation. I would highly recommend this place.

Had a team event here to blend our own wines and create our own labels. It was a great experience, staff made us feel like old friends, location was private, with classic Cali indoor/outdoor areas. Plenty of parking and handicap accessible. When you taste their wine you'll know why they've won awards for it, deliciously!

Visitors can expect a warm and inviting atmosphere where they can engage with the artist herself. Virga's passion for art is evident as she shares her knowledge and experiences with those who browse her collection.
I have visited Virga Gallery in Laguna several times and each experience has been wonderful! Vigra Siauciunaite, the gallery's owner is friendly and welcoming, and atmosphere of the gallery is bright and cheery. Vigra has worked as an artist and art instructor most of her life. She now owns and runs Virga Gallery which contains a collection of her own works as well as those of artists from around the world. The location is incredible, as the gallery sits in one of the cities most popular intersections and is only one a minute walk from: Heisler Park, Las Brisas restaurant, Laguna Art Museum, and Urth Cafe! I highly recommend visiting Virga Gallery the next time you visit Laguna Beach!

Virga Gallery is filled with colorful works of art from emerging artists that the owner, Virga, loves to showcase. She has an amazing and uncanny eye for talented artists and as an artist herself fills her gallery with works of the utmost quality. An incredibly passionate and dedicated gallery owner, she does not limit the gallery to one particular genre. It has been such a pleasure to work with her.

This new gallery has the highest quality art, best location, and nicest airy environment! Virga is an exceptional artist with her own styles. This hotel was absolutely perfect! It’s just a 5-minute walk from downtown—close enough to enjoy everything, but far enough to feel peaceful and quiet. The nearby beaches were stunning and much less crowded than the main beach. I also loved that the supermarket was close by (just a 5-minute walk), and the hotel’s complimentary beach chairs and umbrellas were a great touch for beach days. The pool was perfect and a really nice bonus. The staff was amazing—friendly, helpful, and full of great local recommendations. Highly recommend staying here!

Minimal service. They do offer a wine hour. Water in the lobby runs out by late afternoon and is not refilled. Also, get your pool/beach towels early, as they too run out. Accommodations are decent. We were there on a weekend in August, so maximum rates. Beware of the $45/night parking fee. However, we were there Friday-Sunday, and didn't use the car at all, as there is a great free trolley system running through town. Parking at city meters is $6.50/hour, so leave the car behind. There is a great beach within a 5-minute walk, below Heisler Park. Probably the best amenity.

I stayed here 10/22-10/24. The front desk was very kind and helpful, alwasy a smile on their face to greet you as you came and went throughout the day, The location is great, its within walking distance to restaurants/shopping as well as the beach. The room was spacious and the bed was bery comfortable. Would highly recommend.

I must start with how amazing the staff is! Super helpful and knowledgeable! The room was as described and felt very spacious with a separate sitting area. The view of the ocean was lovely! The mattress was on the softer side, but not uncomfortable. The room was clean and air conditioned (it was a hot day so very grateful for this). The underground garage had plenty of parking and had steps leading up to the guest rooms which made luggage transport a breeze. The pool is salt water, not chlorine. The hotel sits between 2 busy roads, but it was quiet overnight and in the morning. The park is just behind the hotel and there are steps from the park down to the beach. It is a half mile walk downhill to the main beach and town, though there are places to eat nearby. The trolley runs in the summer and is free. The complimentary wine and cookie were delicious. This hotel is very accommodating! I arrived 3 hours early and they checked in since my room was ready. They also allowed me to remain parked in the garage after checkout for a few hours so I could stay in town longer. If you need a beach chair or other items, they have items to borrow. I highly recommend staying at this hotel!

This was such an overpriced hotel for what we got. It is convenient to everything. I love the kitsch. The staff were wonderful and accommodating and we were able to park in their underground lot. However, I can’t believe the price we paid to have a patio that overlooked a loud parking lot. Shame on them. The tile sink was remodeled but the faucet was so small it barely reached the edge of the sink. Washing my hands was hard. The AC didn’t cool as much as it was set to and the pool looked like we were in the motel 6. If we’d paid $300 a night that would have been fair but this was highway robbery. We did appreciate the proximity to everything but expected more for the price.

Heisler Park Beach Stairway leads to a truly breathtaking view. We timed it just right and caught golden hour, the sun lighting up the coastal cliffs and waves crashing against the bedrock made for an unforgettable scene. A peaceful, stunning spot that feels like a hidden gem.

One of the beautiful places in Laguna Beach. Beautiful sunrise with an empty rocky beach and wonderful sunset (for that better choose the weekdays). And be sure to watch the high and low tide, because at high tide on this beach the water rises and floods almost the entire beach. But in terms of beauty, especially for photos and videos, this place is one of the best.

California's coastline is well known for its stunning natural beauty, and there are several beautiful parks along its shores. Our favorite is Heisler Park in Laguna Beach. It's located in California's Orange county coastline between pacific coast highway and the Pacific ocean. This park offers breathtaking views of rugged cliffs, Beautiful beaches. The combination of coastal vistas, lush Flowers, and abundant views makes it a paradise for nature lovers and photographers alike. The best winery and service I have ever experienced! Tucked away in the beautiful Laguna Beach Canyon, this intimate boutique winery was the perfect setting to celebrate my 60th milestone birthday. 🍷

Crescent Bay Beach in Laguna Beach is a stunning inlet with golden sands, rocky cliffs, and tide pools. It's considered one of the most beautiful beaches in the area due to its crescent shape and picturesque surroundings. The beach is about 1/4 mile long and offers visitors majestic views, including colossal cliffs, caves, and dramatic rock formations. Crescent Bay Point Park, located at the southernmost tip of the city, features crystal-clear blue waters and sandy shores surrounded by towering cliffs.
There are way too many sharks here—and just as many seals! No wonder the sharks are so abundant. They swim right up to the shore, and the seals? They have no fear! Some have swum right up to my face and even right under me. If I’m that close to a seal, imagine how easily a shark could mistake us for one. Oh no… Not exaggerating 😊 And it’s not just the wildlife. The beach is under heavy surveillance. Police are everywhere, and if you’re into drinking, forget it—they’re spotting people with drones. It’s wild how they just seem to appear out of nowhere, but it makes sense when you realize how closely they monitor everything. There are way too many sharks here—and just as many seals! just had my worst beach experience in my life all because of the lifeguards. there was specifically a bleached blonde boy with a circle tattoo. he over and over again bothered our family, probably ten times in the two hours we were there. he spoke to me (an adult) like a child. wouldn't let us stand in the waves, walk in the crash, boogie board. continuously bothering and wouldn't explain why, wouldn't have a conversation with me like an adult. it hurt my feelings and i hated my time at a usually beautiful beach!

Crescent Bay Beach offers breathtaking views and exhilaratingly rough waves, making it a captivating destination for beachgoers. The scenic beauty of the coastline, with its dramatic cliffs and sparkling water, creates a stunning backdrop that's perfect for photos and relaxation. The waves provide a thrilling experience for those who enjoy surfing or simply watching the powerful surf crash against the shore. While the beach can get a bit crowded depending on the time of day, the lively atmosphere adds to the overall charm. Despite the occasional crowd, Crescent Bay Beach was a fantastic way to kick off our trip, offering a perfect blend of natural beauty and excitement.

My family and I make it a tradition to visit this beach annually on our way to San Diego, and without fail, each visit is a source of immense enjoyment. The charm of this beach is truly timeless, captivating us year after year. The familiarity of the place coupled with the excitement of exploration creates an unbeatable combination. The scenic beauty and relaxing ambiance of the beach provide the perfect backdrop for creating unforgettable memories. Whether it's building sandcastles, playing beach volleyball, or simply strolling along the shore, there's something for everyone to relish. The gentle sound of the waves and the warm touch of the sun make for a soothing experience that rejuvenates our spirits. One of the most remarkable aspects is the consistency of our positive experiences. The beach has managed to maintain its allure and appeal throughout the years. The convenience of its location, making it an ideal stopover en route to San Diego, adds to its allure. Without hesitation, I wholeheartedly recommend this beach to others. Its ability to consistently deliver joy, relaxation, and unforgettable moments makes it a gem worth exploring. If you're seeking a destination that guarantees happiness and rejuvenation, this beach should be at the top of your list.

Great place to catch some ferocious waves or to mellow out. If you're taking small children, keep ab eye on them at all times, since this beach has a habit of bringing shore nasty waves and strong currents may drag you deep in to the waters. Be weary of the cliffs and the rocks, it can be very dangerous when its strong waves or high tide. Don't forget the sun screen 🌞

Beautiful beach to visit. Water is clean, clear and blue. We were able to see several dolphins swimming by. The lifeguards were very attentive and kind. The bathrooms were clean and there was soap in the soap dispensers lol. Parking was hard to find. We did park next to a parking meter. We were able to download the app and pay through the app when our time limit was up.

I love this trail. It has epic views from the top. It was cooler up here than it was down at the beach. Great ocean breeze. Well maintained trails. You can park for free on Alta Laguna.

Been here multiple times. Always have fun hiking up there and then soaking in the views. Also easy to walk down a couple of miles from here and get to Laguna Beach downtown. Can get here from Parking lot 16 along the 133 freeway, or from Canyon View Park via West Ridge or Wood Canyon or Rock It trails. Can also easily park at Alta Laguna Park and just walk 5 minutes, but that won't give you any workout. There are restrooms and a playground right next to it in Alta Laguna Park.

By far, the nicest and happiest dog park I’ve ever been to. What makes it great: -Fully fenced, really big space that’s nearly all grass -Lots of benches and shaded areas -Doggy drinking fountain -Separate gated areas for big and small dogs Only downside is the street metered parking but it was worth it. We were visiting from San Diego for the weekend with our dog and we came both days.

I was on vacation in Catalina, several years ago, and my then teenage son came back to our hotel and told me about this wonderful lady he met and that she was an Artist and had a gallery in town and was VERY excited that I go see her work. (This made a deep impression on me, as my son was rarely excited about anything.) I followed him to the gallery, and there, through the large front window, I saw a woman with long luscious red hair sitting at a canvas painting water....something that had always been my own biggest challenge in my art. I went into the gallery and immediately felt a peace wash over me. I stood entranced, silently watching Ruth paint. She turned and greeted me warmly, and greeted my son (behind me) like she had known him for years. She put down her brushes and took me on a personal tour of her gallery, explaining and illuminating her many paintings to me, and showed me new ways to "see" so that I could better "translate" what I see into art. I thank God, as well as Ruth, for that day. Ruth is one of the most incredible and inspirational women I have ever met. Her spirit and beauty shine through her "being" and her art. Meeting her changed my life and my own artwork.

we stumbled upon this little garden by pure accident and i was ecstatic that it was open to the public. the sculptures are so nicely made and the actual garden feels secluded from all the hustle and bustle just a street away. if i'm in the area again i'd really like to make my way inside the gallery and see what they have to see. if you want to enjoy a quick 5 minute break from walking the city, i highly suggest stopping by here to enjoy the art.

This review is long overdue. Just wanted to express my gratitude towards The Dawson Cole Museum and in particular Jason who made my family feel extremely welcomed during our road trip to Laguna Beach. Not being locals we were particularly excited to come on a weekend of which Laguna holds its annual art walk. To our surprise it was extremely dead in regards to attendance and most galleries closed early that night. We managed to view about four galleries of which we encountered staff who seemed uninterested in engaging with us due to the lack of attendees. Once we reached the Dawson as our last stop the vibe completely changed for the better as we were presented with a great collection of the most unique sculptures and paintings. Jason, who was managing the gallery that night, was extremely inviting and attentive towards my family as he was super enthusiastic to talk about certain pieces. We instantly felt right at home as we were able to not feel the pressure of having to get in and out as quickly as possible. We even got some great recommendations on some local restaurants and bars that we visited that same weekend. I am deeply thankful for the warmth and hospitality of the Dawson Cole team. Thank you so much for making our trip memorable and fun!

Nestled next to a bank building in Promenade on Lake, this gallery has a fantastic collection of bronze sculpture dedicated to music, form and movement. There are paintings scattered throughout the space, but it is apparent this gallery is dedicated to sculpture of human form. Their sculpture garden is a very tranquil space, lined with plants and flowers. It is a fantastic display of large bronze sculpture, and is a perfect setting to sit and gaze at the beauty. Of all the galleries I visited on this day, this space was my favourite. You are allowed to view at your own pace without pressure from the staff to purchase.
