Mountain peak
Monument Mountain is a popular 2.5-mile-long quartzite ridge in The Berkshires, offering trails and a waterfall. Hikers can choose between an easier, longer path and a harder, steeper one to reach the summit at 1,739 ft. The hike is described as fairly strenuous but rewards with breathtaking panoramic views from the top. Visitors can enjoy beautiful sights along the way even without reaching the peak.
Moderate trail that is steep and rocky in some spots but the effort is worth the views. Pack enough water and a pair of hiking sticks to make sure the hike is enjoyable.
Kermit A — Google review
The hike to the summit is well worth the effort. The backroads leading to the location is a scenic way. There's a small parking lot at the base. Keep in mind that there are no facilities here, so come prepared with water, snacks, and any necessary gear. A few picnic tables are available in the parking lot for a pre- or post-hike meal. The hike itself is moderately challenging, with a steady ascent through a mix of forest and open areas. The trail is well-marked, making it easy to navigate. My five-year old made it. I don’t recommend it for kids 4 and below. As you reach the summit, you'll be rewarded with views of the surrounding valley and distant mountains. The fall colors create a truly magical atmosphere. I definitely recommend it especially during the autumn season.
Murat D — Google review
Half the loop was closed when I visited, so can only speak for trail to far right when facing parking lot from road. Moderate hike up to viewing platforms. It was dry the day I went, and the rocks are very smooth up top, so please watch your footing.
Yeening C — Google review
I didn't venture up too far here, but it was still quite nice even without hiking to the top or near the top of the mountain. Visited in the colder months so it wasn't so green, but that's just how it is.
Nicole — Google review
I've reached out exactly the point, but there were no any lookout, it was unmaintained trail full of bushes. It should be noted, I started from north side, not along the official trail, not from parking point. (I reached the end of Sky farm road and then I fought my way through the forest. Barely found smth resembling a path.) Then I continued my way down by that unmaintained trail and finally got to the sign with trails names. Conclusion: not trying to hike without a marked trails. Don't think you are smarter and find a unique way))))) you find a lot of bushes, bugs and will be happy not encounter a bear.
Elena U — Google review
- I did a 2.4 mile moderate loop from Hickey trail (yellow) onto peeskawso (red). I went up Devil’s Pulpit overlook and then went down Mohican mountain trail (blue) - No bathrooms - Parking is $6 but there are lots of spots - The trail was covered with orange lizards!
Kelsey T — Google review
There’s an easier, longer path and a harder, steeper path. We went up from the former and came down through the latter. Was fairly easy with some steep-ish spots going up. View from the peak is worth it. Beautiful sites along the way.
AF — Google review
Friendly hike, mild to moderate, about 90 minutes up Hickey's and across Squaw, skipped devil's pulpit, a few steep climbs, just what we had in mind.

The Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center is a charming 1905 theater that offers a variety of entertainment including concerts, opera, drama broadcasts, classic films, and dance events. This historic building was reconstructed in 1904 after a fire destroyed the previous structure. Despite facing demolition threats in the 90s, it was restored with over $9 million raised by local citizens to enhance seating and accessibility features. The center hosts an array of performances for the Southern Berkshires and nearby communities.
This is an excellent venue for opera. We have seen several Berkshire Opera productions here all of which have been terrific. The latest was Faust in Aug 2024. On our last visit we sat in the first row of the mezzanine. The acoustics were excellent as were the sight lines.

First time visiting for a lovely evening to see Casablanca. Loved it! Beautiful theater with friendly staff.
Jillian D — Google review
Watching and listening to performers who love what they do is contagious. You can’t help but love being entertained by them. I went to hear the Dali String Quartet and I was mesmerized. As I already mentioned they love being musicians and love sharing their love with the audience. The sound quality in the Mahaiwe Theater is great for the classics. If you get a chance to go to a performance in that establishment you should go. It has an historical ambience that makes you feel as if you got to be a part of history.
Wendy F — Google review
2025: we keep coming back 2019:Very nice performance center. Small but looks like areal old fashioned theater but with comfortable seats and good sound. Update: on my second visit I learned a bit more history. The theater was built in 1905, in 1930 it was converted to a movie house , in 2005 it was fully restored.

Went to see Casablanca on Valentine’s Day and had so much fun! The staff were so friendly and welcoming. They also took our photos for their social media, which was really neat! I’ve been to many shows here and it’s such a historic and wonderful venue and the experiences are always very intimate. Thank you Mahaiwe for keeping the arts alive 🩷
Rose F — Google review
Saw Casablanca here on Valentine's Day with my friend and it was amazing! Such friendly staff! Sat in box seats, staff took photos of me and my friend's outfits and posted on their social media which was cool! After the film when exiting staff was handing out roses to everyone! So lovely!
Piper P — Google review
I havent been to the Mahaiwe since I was a kid, so I was looking forward to seeing a band from my teenage years there. The website was very clear about masking and vaccine protocol, but since we got the tickets months ago we were hoping the mask mandate would be lifted as it has been at other venues. One member in our party has breathing issues and it is difficult for them to wear a mask for prolonged, but there are no exceptions. They patrol the theater throughout the show to reprimand people. No water is allowed (another issue for those with medical problems). The acoustics weren't great, and it was very hot. Definitely one of my least favorite venues around. On a positive note the band was good, and the vaccine card check/ticket check moved along great and the staff was efficient and friendly in that section. The ushers and "mask patrol" folks were not.

This is one of the most beautiful theaters I've ever visited. The performance by Pat Metheny was exceptional

Nestled in the picturesque town, Butternut Ski Area and Tubing Center offers over 10 acres of trails with 11 ski lifts, making it a perfect destination for winter sports enthusiasts. The area also features artificial snow makers on all trails, ensuring optimal skiing conditions. In addition to skiing and snowboarding, visitors can enjoy snowshoeing in the winter or take a dip in the Green River during the summer months.
We have met homeschooling families here for skiing with our kids. This place is great for a wide range of ski levels. My son learned to ski here, while his friend’s parents who are experienced, had no problems enjoying their time as well.

Such a great winter activity!! We had alot of fun! Little pricey it was 105.00 for 2 adults one child. But we had fun and made some winter memories. You get 2 hrs with the tubing. Refreshments, food trailer was available but definitely pricey as well.

Great little mountain in southern mass. Not technically difficult but very charming. Although the lifts are slow, Mountain makes up for it in charm and functionality. Good variety of terrain. Where butternut really shines is the terrain park. one of the best terrain parks in the area for sure. snow making and grooming are top-notch. lift tickets are very reasonable. Easy Stars here
Tim D — Google review
First time visiting. I liked the mountain. Good conditions on a relatively warm day. Finding where to pick up lift tickets and acquire rental was not easy, but staff was helpful. We enjoyed our visit and expect to go again.
Glen W — Google review
Brought my 11 year old niece for two two-hour sessions. Tubing area is set away from all the skiers and snowboarders, on a separate hill across the parking lot. Hill wasn't very big IMO, but it was still fun, and my niece had a blast. Paid $140 for four hours, and seemed worth it. Staff was VERY friendly and welcoming. Fair amount of people (4-8pm on a Saturday in February), but there was about 8 lanes to ride down. After sundown, they turn on the lights and music. Electric lift gets very crowded, and I opted to walk up the hill each time, and skip the line. They kept stopping the lift for seemingly no reason, so had to wait for niece a few times. Staff is attentive to ensure no injuries. Only complaint is that people stand at top of lane, as they want to go down the same time as their friends, with no consideration for people waiting. If you are next to go, and the lane is open, then GO! If your friends aren't ready, stand to the side and let someone else go. Common courtesy, but not much staff can do about this. Nice little food truck, we had tiny hot chocolates and a fried dough ($20). Pretty expensive, so I suggest bringing your own snacks. Plan to come back and maybe do a lesson. Looks like there were many hills to ride. Only other mountain I've been to is Ski Sundown, and this looked bigger/better to me.

Awesome experience and facilities. Two moms with a combined total of 4 kids had an awesome day. Lots to enjoy for all abilities. Our little guys were able to come down on all Greens while our big kids got to feel the challenge of a black diamond and we all would meet back at the same ski lift. Lunch in the lodge was warm and friendly, the king tables with benches was very convenient for lots of kids and lots of space. Thanks for keeping the real Mew England feel.
Amanda H — Google review
I was going to be in the area for a family event so I decided to make a stop at Butternut and go skiing for the first time in 20 years. I figured this would be an appropriate location considering the small size of the mountain and my dubious skiing abilities. I purchased a day pass for $40 and rental equipment for $60. Obtaining the pass was extremely easy - there are kiosks that scan a QR code from your phone and print out your pass in seconds. Obtaining the rental equipment was a bit more convoluted. The "Ski Rental" house did not have great employees, they were a bit aloof and disinterested in helping. For example, no one *actually* checked if I purchased rental gear. The cashier in front didn't want to see my online receipt, and none of the gear people cared whatsoever. I think the rental equipment was fine for beginners. The boots were TOUGH to get my feet in and out of - it felt like I was getting Chinese foot binding done to my feet trying to push them in. The skis were adequate, nothing special. After retrieving my boots and skis from the employees, no one directed me to grab ski poles (again, indicating how lame the workers here were) so it wasn't until I got out and put my skis on that I realized I forgot them. I couldn't be bothered to go back and ask, so I went the whole day without poles. The mountain and skiing were great for what they were. In addition to 1 chairlift for the baby hill, there were only 2 other lifts running up the main mountain. I felt like there was a lack of "beginner" slopes that went all the way down the mountain - there were only like 1 or 2. After 3-4 hours I was feeling pretty wiped out and called it a day. Overall, great way to fulfill the itch to go skiing without making a huge commitment.

I absolutely loved this place. My 1st time skiing and won't be the last. The lodging and food were also great. More than I thought it would be. If the temperature had not been in the negative digits it would have been even better.

Hiking Trails
River Walk is a leisurely and scenic one-mile trail along the Housatonic River in Stockbridge, Massachusetts. It's an easy walk suitable for all ages and abilities, making it perfect for a relaxing stroll or a quick spot of exercise. The flat path offers beautiful views of the river and surrounding nature, with informative signs providing insights into the area's history, including details about civil rights leader William Dubois.
It's an extremely short but beautiful trail (at least the northern part). In general it's a river promenade connecting Main St near St. Peter's Church and Bridge St. It's not a complete trail as the middle part goes on River St. The northern part is a few feet lower than street level and has compact soil which gives it a natural feeling. Since it is connected to the street level by stairs it is not accessible for wheelchairs/strollers. The southern part is street level and mostly paved. Both parts have some plaques and viewing points to the river.

Another nice afternoon in Great Barrington on a May Sunday. So many grand buildings to take in on a stroll as well as artistic boutiques. # Very pretty walk along the river in a fun town, especially on an Autumn day.

Such a beautiful walk and peaceful. Not a hard walk and easy for most to complete. Loved reading about the history and especially William Dubois trailblazing civil rights leader whose birth place was Great Barrington Ma.

Lovely in all seasons flat short one mile round trip walk along the river. Park at the end of Park Street in Stockbridge and cross the foot- bridge over the Housatonic River. Follow the dirt path on your left immediately after you get off the bridge. Enjoy.

The Guthrie Center, located in Great Barrington, is a historic trinity church that has been transformed into a foundation and community space. It hosts spiritual services, cultural exchanges, and weekly community events such as open mic nights and to-go lunches. The center also serves as a tribute to the Guthrie family of musicians and offers a welcoming atmosphere for visitors. With its rich history and diverse programming, it's an ideal destination for those seeking both spiritual enrichment and cultural experiences.
My visit for the lunch on Wednesdays was heart warming and the venue soulful and reminiscent of the 60s with its hippie flower children and war protesters. All are welcome and the variety of dishes were pleasing and plentiful. The remodeled church is well maintained and beautiful with a stage. Great place to hold your venue with plenty of parking adjacent. Sometimes you may just want to get out of the house and this is a place with open arms and smiles for all.
Cheryl C — Google review
An intimate, small venue. Some shows are general admission, while for others you reserve table seats. There is a small gift shop, as well as displays of Guthrie memorabilia (Woody, Arlo and family).

Historic hippie place. Scene of Alice's Restaurant massacree, song and niche based on happenings alleged at this and other area locations. The center promotes arts and local needs. Various concerts held in the church. Very nice people who work at the center.
Ryan P — Google review
Play the song Alice's Restaurant while You're there for the full Arlo Guthrie experience. Since we love music and know the song already, this was a great stop for us. Great backroads to get there too
Jo B — Google review
It was nice, but I didn’t like that the pews were removed on the main level to hold all the garbage. Anyways, some friends and I worked very hard to get all the garbage removed. Of course we removed it on Thanksgiving, when all the dumps were closed, so we threw the garbage down a cliff. The people there served us a great Thanksgiving dinner, one that couldn’t be beat. Overall good experience, just wish this officer Obie guy would stop calling the joint…
Mackenzie F — Google review
A Beautiful tribute and living spirit of the Guthrie family of musicians. The Guthrie Center occupies the Old Trinity Church (a magnificent cultural preservation). Weekly community lunches are served to-go on Weds., Thursday is open mic night on the stage (altar). Tables and chairs set-up for lunches and music nights. Interfaith services also provided. While there, I heard people of the community calling to reserve a spot because Thanksgiving dinner will be served. - Musical instruments available for rental - Small gift shop with classic Guthrie designs (i.e. shirts with The W group logo) - A trunk full of CD's from various artists for purchase - A small cafe on premises IF you're a fan of Alice's Restaurant you will note the red mini-van parked out front- and the fact the church parallels the RR tracks. Alice’s Restaurant isn’t around anymore. But, as the song says, “Alice didn’t live in a restaurant. She lived in the church nearby the restaurant…” And the old Trinity Church, where Alice once lived and where the saga began has become home to The Guthrie Center. I walked away from visiting this place feeling touched to meet Guthrie family members and others that keep this facility running and open to the community. **** DON"T forget to leave a donation to further music education and community outreaches.
T D — Google review
A wonderful community center. Wednesdays are open community lunches. Berkshire Center for Justice provides free legal clinic. Musical instruments abound and concerts all summer!

The Prairie Whale is a charming restaurant that offers elevated American cuisine and cocktails in a rustic setting. The owner, a former Brooklyn restaurateur turned farmer, opened the restaurant in 2012 using ingredients from his farm. Despite not having a website, it has gained popularity and is one of the most Instagrammed restaurants in town. The menu changes seasonally to incorporate ingredients from their garden, and they are known for their delicious cocktails garnished with freshly cut herbs.
Farm to table food, limited menu, awesome taste! A little on the pricey side (for us!). But totally worth it. Get a reservation as it is very busy!!! The cocktails were quite tasty - worth trying!

Simple and delicious food. I had the brick chicken which was cooked perfectly and had a nice sauce. The anchovies on the potatoes were a really interesting addition that actually tasted great. Our party also ordered the fried chicken, trout, and a pork belly sandwich that was on special and everyone enjoyed their dish. I also really enjoyed the overall ambiance and decor of the dining room.

Beautiful space and.lovely garden out front. Quaint and comfortable inside. Small food menu, but there are lots of great choices. Had the ricotta w toast and mortadella. I'm not a pork fan, but the ricotta and toast were delicious. Had the Hake cake, which was smokey and delicious, and the brick chicken, which was substantial and perfectly prepared. Extensive wine list. Had a French rose that was delightful. Waitstaff was pleasant and made good recommendations. Would return again and again and again.

Went here for dinner with a group of 7 girls and were greeted by kind and friendly faces. The menu is limited (we were aware ahead of time) but the kitchen was very accommodating to our various dietary restrictions and allergies. We were disappointed to hear that a few of our favorite cocktails were unavailable that night but the substitutions were delish. I love how fresh the food is! Our group was able to try almost everything on the menu and nothing was disappointing except the vegetarian plate (very bland).

First time back in a couple of years and was a little disappointed. Fried chicken was too greasy, presented on a side salad plate and served with cantaloupe instead of previous (& more appropriate) coleslaw or beans. Because of the tiny plate I had to place the corn bread and cantaloupe on the table in order to have room to cut the chicken (too greasy to hold in my hands). Another at my table had the brick chicken. Good, but served with no starch, just chicken and tomatoes. Special pate appetizer was very good.

Wonderful dinner and experience at The Prairie Whale! Definitely recommend making a reservation because it’s very popular. It was a beautiful day and we sat outside and it was beautiful. They had a live band playing inside and the noise level was perfect outside. Our server, Isabelle, was fantastic! Super friendly and attentive. The food was delicious. Everything was super fresh, local, and tasted wonderful. We had 2 appetizer specials and the bolognese. The pasta was cooked perfectly and the sauce was great. We’ll definitely be back!

We visited last Friday night around 6pm and waited for about 20 min for a table. The attendant was very helpful and amiable. The wait person was attentive. The appetizers were delicious and enough for three people. We had the tomato salad and the roasted carrots. One person had the hake fish and finished it, another had the fried chicken and found it a bit too sweet for them so only had a small piece of it but really liked the cornbread, and I had the cheeseburger which was okay. I didn’t care for the sesame bun, as sesame gives an off flavor for me. Overall the meal was good but to be honest way too expensive. Nothing was under $22 for a main meal.
Elena Y — Google review
Possibly I am not hip enough to go to Prairie Whale. A group of us went on a Monday night in the summer when not many other options were available. The food was fine (but they seriously messed up one of our party's orders), but it was super loud and the service only average.

Soco Creamery, located in Great Barrington, is a popular destination for both locals and tourists of all ages. This family-owned creamery takes pride in using milk and cream from local farms to create their super premium ice creams, sorbets, and gelatos without any artificial ingredients like corn syrup. What started as a small scoop shop has now expanded to wholesale its products across the Northeast due to its exceptional quality.
It's been a while since we have been in Great Barrington and some friends of ours recommended Soco creamery. They had lots of different flavors of ice cream including some that were made without dairy. I ordered a black raspberry dairyless one and it was really interesting, pretty sure it was a frozen yogurt flavor but still good!
Matt G — Google review
SoCo has always been my favorite. They have a huge variety of flavors and offer a great quality of ice cream. I do feel their quality has been lacking lately. I'm not sure if there's been a change in recipe or something but the ice cream just seems a little different. Maybe too many flavors and a loss of quality control? It's still great but I think High Lawn farms has the upper hand in ice cream now.
Suzanne W — Google review
Awesome ice cream shop! Friendly and patient staff! We were visiting in the area and this was a stop recommended by our hotel. Very good selection of flavours, but some looked like they needed to be restocked! Especially the classic chocolate flavour, which looked almost empty! Understandable, since it’s a busy place and it must be a popular flavour! I ordered a small size cup with half a scoop of chocolate and half a scoop of vanilla. So good!
Maria C — Google review
Super cute ice cream shop with lots of yummy flavors. I love that they have little cards you can fill out; “my greatest desire is…” “I wish I had the courage to…” etc and then they hang them on the walls. It was fun to read them while we enjoyed our ice cream!
Anastasia J — Google review
Good service. It's better to try different flavors to find what you like the most. Because some flavors were okay, some were delectable. My fave so far: the marzipan dates ice cream.
Dian Y — Google review
My go to place for noms in the Summer! Their shakes are so good. I got the Shakespeare Desire flavor with marzipan , dates and orange zest mixed with Sleigh Bells which is goat cheese, pistachios and amaretto cherries. Simply divine and definitely will be going back. The cute guy who made my shake was more than kind
Andrew D — Google review
Not to be overdramatic, but SoCo is the single best ice cream shop I have ever been to in my entire life. I have gone here for around 2 decades and it never misses, every flavor they make is the pinnacle of what that flavor could be, their chocolate and caramel sauce toppings are to die for. If SoCo closed I think I’d cry myself to sleep for a month. I have literally ordered a large, downed it in seconds, and then came back the very next day to down the exact same thing again. To put it bluntly, if a devout atheist was asked to join a cult of SoCo, the only correct answer is “where do I sign?”
Zachary C — Google review
The ice cream is absolutely amazing! They also have my favorite flavor, ginger, as well as a lot of other uncommon flavors and all of the regulars. Check out the fantastic colors of some of the ice cream in the pictures! The staff was really nice, too. Would definitely recommend a trip here. It's also great how late they're open.

Bernay Fine Art is a welcoming gallery that caters to both art enthusiasts and casual viewers. The space features an eclectic mix of artists, showcasing various styles such as figurative, abstract, mixed media, ceramics, and glass art. Visitors can expect to see works from established artists like Warner Friedman and Janet Rickus as well as emerging talents like Stephanie Anderson and Dana Piazza. The gallery provides a relaxed environment where guests can freely explore the artwork without feeling pressured to make purchases.
I recently paid a first-time visit to the spacious and light-filled Bernay gallery especially to see the paintings of Harriet Joffe, part of the gallery's Winter Group Show. One of the owners was present and happy to answer my questions and share a few insights into the paintings of the other artists whose work was on display. Unlike what often happens in other galleries that I have been in, I was free to roam and take it all in without any kind of "sales" pressure. I highly recommend catching this particular show before it ends in late February. Although the individual artists' paintings all appear to be very different, I found a very interesting textile reflection in many of them.

I visited the Bernay Fine Art Gallery and was extremely impressed with the artists that were displayed. I particularly admired Janet Rickus's contemporary still life paintings and Warner Friedman's magnificent landscape paintings. These are only two of the brilliant artists showcased. I highly recommend going there.

Barrington Brewery & Restaurant is a charming and rustic establishment that offers a delightful combination of solar-brewed beer and classic American comfort food. The brewery, located in Great Barrington, MA, has been serving its own Barn Brewed Beer and delicious scratch-made dishes since 1995.
Very nice place. Looks like an old tavern inside and there is covered seating beer garden out back you can bring your dog. Big selection of beers and food. DW had a burger and beer battered French fries - both delicious. I had the Oktoberfest special of different sausages and kielbasa with German potatoes salad and pickled cabbage- excellent. Plenty of big tables for large parties lots of room. Very nice. Plenty of parking.

Love a good brewery, especially one that serves food! We were able to sit outside in the nice weather. Even during the day on a Friday there were customers, which is great. Pet friendly. Loved their brews, food was good too, nothing fancy. You can also take pastries/deserts to go. Older building, just be careful in some areas for the uneven flooring.

Barrington Brewery & Restaurant serves good pub food, and house brewed beer. We recently enjoyed an early dinner on our way through the area. My burger was cooked just right and the sweet potato fries were hot. My husband said his Reuben was delicious. Service was average.
Carol J — Google review
Loved it here! I was in the area and was looking for a good dinner spot. I ended up here. I stopped in right before dinner; there were tables and bar seats available. The atmosphere was dark and cozy. I saw other people's food coming out and got excited. I had researched this spot before coming to the area too, so I knew it was one of the better restaurants in the area. I ordered an iced tea and a burger, and they were both delicious and fresh. The burger was hot and flavorful - I loved it! The servers were friendly and nice too. When I'm back in the area again, I'll definitely stop back here. I recommend this spot!

Great beer (I recommend a flight.) The first brewery on the east coast to install a solar panel system that supplies solar-heated hot water for brewing (7-barrel system is powered by both photovoltaic and a solar hot water heating system.) Bonus: dog friendly.

We stopped in for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. Pleasant pub atmosphere. Even though the place was busy we got our food in a timely manner. We had a great server and the food was really good. I had the eggplant rollitini and husband had the burger. Food is reasonably priced. We always stop here when we visit the area.

My wife and I stopped at Barrington Brewery and Restaurant on our way to Stockbridge for an evening event this past October. It was a busy Wednesday night, but we were seated right away — larger groups only waited a few minutes. The beer was the highlight! I went with the Monument Mountain IPA, and my wife had the Witches Saison — both were fresh, flavorful, and really well done. The food was solid pub fare: I had a chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries, and my wife had a burger with onion rings — the onion rings were the clear winner! The atmosphere was lively and friendly, and the service kept up well despite the crowd. We’d definitely stop again — especially for another round of their house brews.

Service was wonderful! Fish sandwiches were really good and enjoyed the Bar Pizza - only reduced to 4 stars because the cheese to crust/sauce ratio was a bit much for me. The sourdough crust is really chewy and delicious! Definitely recommend this for a quick and easy lunch!

It's a family-friendly restaurant that offers a relaxed dining experience, making it a favorite among both locals and tourists. The establishment also takes pride in being the birthplace of Ugly's Gluten-Free Pizza Crust, ensuring delicious and safe options for all diners.
Always a reliable pizza. So many different exotic toppings plus the normal stuff. The family size salads are amazing and plentiful. The sourdough crust is what makes this unique. Crispy and chewy like no other. Worth the trip.

Check in right next to front. Put in name if wait and then take a short walk to check stores. Parking is free in back or in public parking near movie theater. Two individual bathrooms in back. Open floor plan. Dozens of tables. Sourdough gluten free or a one other. Ok for families kids couples. Sourdough is thin crust. Great taste. Wines $8 drinks $13. Single salads $14 and easy for two to three people. Large pizzas good for two. Small is 10 inch and good for one. Staff is professional and friendly. Service and quick but they don’t rush you. The lemon curd cheesecake is a must try. Light and full of lemon flavor.

Lovely pizza! Wait time was good, and the pizza was delicious! I would highly recommend the Dolce Vita pizza. It was amazing. We also got the barbecue pizza which was also good.
Iris D — Google review
The pizza is delicious at Baba Louie's. It's a thin, almost cracker like crust. After dinner my husband and I strolled down the street, peeked in the store windows and admired the lights. Overall a 10 out of 10!

We look forward to going to this restaurant any time we are in the Great Barrington area. They have delicious, artisan pizza that sets this establishment apart from many others. The meals are modestly priced and generously portioned. It can get crowded at times; but it's worth the wait. The staff is nice and appreciative.

This is our go-to place before we go to Berkshire Opera. We ordered before we left for a 12:15 pickup. We arrived at 12:15 and it was just coming out of the oven. There are tables and chairs along the street so we were able to eat outside. We had the sourdough margarita with shrimp and caramelized onions. They serve an excellent artisan pizza.

I ate dinner here tonight and had an exceptional experience. First off the wait staff is phenomenal. Friendly, kind, attentive and very genuine. The food is absolutely spectacular. Sadly, I ate my delicious pizza before I took a photo. The sourdough crust is cooked to perfection. I enjoyed a chilled white sangria full of delicious fruit. Very refreshing. And the flourless chocolate torte was heavenly. Everything about this place is five stars.

Hands down the best Sourdough Pizza I've had to date. Such creative ingredients and many different additional toppings to choose from! Their Margarita was fantastic and we ordered another pie to which we added eggplant. The portions are fantastic! 2 personal pies and we still had left overs plus 2 large beers less than $50 with tip! Service was great and the place is adorkably cute!

They got movies, and they got some delicious food options. It might it be the most modern or comfortable of theaters, but that’s not why you’re in the Berkshires, is it?
Callahandsome — Google review
When we were there this past Friday, a mom dropped off 5 young kids, all under ten, and left them alone. No supervision. Also no safety measures. It was clear this woman went upstairs with multiple kids and walked by the concession stand with none. It wasn't that busy to be unnoticeable. They proceeded to disrupt the film throughout, with noise and with soda cans she snuck in. The oldest, appeared around 10, completely ignored what the youngest kids were doing. The very little children, a few girls ages 4 to 5, kept leaving the theater alone, unattended. From what we could tell the parents went to a separate movie downstairs and left us to be their kid's babysitters. It was such an unsafe situation for the kids. No 4 or 5 year old should be left alone to use the restroom (we assume as the only thing down the stairs from theater 4 is restrooms). We called the theater afterwards and the person we spoke with essentially said, "Oops, sorry, I guess we'll have to start keeping an eye out for unattended kids". Thankfully the movie will be on streaming soon so we'll just rewatch at home. I think we're done with theaters for now.

The place has broken seats with exposed screws, no one cleans the rooms so there is a lot of trash on the floor, I wouldn't be surprised if they had bedbugs, I will never return and I will tell my friends and family so they don't go to this place.
Daniel V — Google review
A nice small movie theater with a concessions stand. We went here for a screening of "20 days in mariupol" for the berkshire international film festival (biff) and had a great time. The seats were comfortable, and we had a good view of the screen. Bathrooms were clean. Would visit again if the parking situation were better. We drove around for 20 minutes trying to find a spot and ended up parking multiple streets over. Definitely plan to arrive early if you want to make it to your movie on time.

Nestled just a short drive from the bustling downtown area, The Bistro Box is a charming seasonal roadside eatery that has become a beloved staple among locals and visitors alike. Known for its mouthwatering Box Burger paired with hand-cut fries drizzled in parmesan and truffle oil, this eclectic spot offers an unexpected culinary adventure along a busy road out of town.
I think my flavor sensors blew up coz this place is the bomb. Get the grilled chicken sandwich. Juicy, tender, the bread, the fresh veggies, THE SAUCE! Just get it. Next, the falafel burger. Ever had a dry falafel? I dont think these guys know what that is. You won't be disappointed. Are the prices a bit heavy? Yes. Do the flavors and beautiful ambience while having lunch merit those dollars? Yes. If we are in GB, Mass again we will be back.

Nice on a day when the weather is good. Lovely countryside setting. Simple American style menu, and delicious. Service was shockingly slow at lunchtime, like the entire place was being run by one person. But if you’re not in a rush, give it a try. The food is cooked to order, so there’s a reason for the speed. And they have a pet menu. You can’t exactly get that everywhere!
S S — Google review
The fall settings for this spot are top notch and 100% recommended to experience Ordered Falafel burgers which were very good and had a little spice to them. The fried pickles were crispy and came with a solid sauce as well. Truffle fries was a crazy big serving size and totally worth it. Overall quick to get our food even when it was busy. Fun outside activities spread out throughout their seating area that anyone can do Prices weren't bad either Will be back again for sure

Haven't been in 4 years. I got there 30 mins before open and I was 3rd in line. The chicken sandwich was good. The coconut shrimp were somewhat lackluster. The sweet potato fries were okay. I probably would skip the next time I'm in the area.

The Well Restaurant + Bar is a cozy spot located 10 to 20 minutes from Great Barrington, offering a warm ambiance with exposed-brick walls. They are known for their grass-fed beef burgers and an impressive selection of premium whiskeys. What sets them apart is their accommodation for gluten-free options, including buns for sandwiches and burgers as well as a dedicated fryer for fries. The menu also features salads, soups, and naturally gluten-free entrees.
Food quality / price (value) rating 10. This place is a little bit tricky to find, but it is there! It's below sidewalk level and down a set of stairs, and definitely worth looking for! The owner, Jonathan, typically in attendance, has committed his considerable energy to preparing and serving top quality dishes. One long lost pleasure I enjoyed was HOME-MADE onion rings - sliced sweet Spanish onions dipped in house made batter and fried to perfection. I'd almost forgotten what real food tastes like! No pre-prepared plastic bagged frozen crap here! (I would, however, recommend eating all your onion rings while they're fresh, as they don't reheat well.) They offer a pub/tavern style menu, a full bar, and a limited but well chosen draught beer list I had lunch here while sitting at their ten seat bar, a Blackened Chicken sandwich (with the aforementioned onion rings) and everything was prepared and presented very nicely. The chicken was moist and spicy and cooked properly, where typically most chefs believe that "blackened" means "burnt". The service was great as were the prices. It was a pleasure finding a good restaurant in Great Barrington, a city known for its shortage of eating establishments. They have a very nice sidewalk table area that allows diners to enjoy the beauty of the Victorian style Main Street, which is very walkable and one should plan to take a stroll while here. I look very forward to returning!
Lance H — Google review
Where’s the beef? I order their “Smash burger” meal. There was barely any beef in the burger. A lot of cheese, and a lot of grease. Barely a beef patty to be found underneath the seven seas of cheese and grease. The fries came already heavily salted. It tasted like cactus because it was so incredibly salty. Thankfully, the waitresses were very nice - especially when I had to ask for a total of four or so glasses of water just because the fries were so salty.

The Well is better than ever with an upgrade in food quality and service as new ownership has recently taken over. Tonight I tried their special, which was Gravlax - served with shaved fennel + beurre blanc sauce and was thoroughly satisfied. Another thing to highlight is the price point for what you get and it’s very appropriate. A good sign for a restaraunt is when you see management present and interacting with customers not to mention the bartender was friendly and attentive. They can have my money. Looking forward to going back :)
Andrew A — Google review
Man, I love this place. The vibe is super chill — like your buddy’s house but with way better food and someone else doing the dishes. Been here a few times now and it never misses. Just solid comfort food that actually tastes like someone gave a damn making it. Drinks are strong (bless), bartenders are cool, and it’s the kinda spot you stop by for one and end up staying till closing. It’s got that cozy neighborhood feel without being boring. Food hits the spot every time — especially if you’ve had a couple. Honestly, if I lived any closer, this would be dangerous. 10/10 would recommend (and probably will again after a few beers).
Zach M — Google review
Excellent and friendly service. Despite being a “bar food” impression, excellent menu options from “the best hamburger” plus a decent veggie burger option, it’s easy to walk by on Main Street. Recommend for a fast, low key and reasonably priced family friendly for early dinner.
Melissa D — Google review
I was thrilled to hear that The Well is under new ownership—and even more excited by the rave reviews about the food. After dining there last night, I can confidently say the excitement is well-deserved! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and vibrant. The staff was incredibly attentive and genuinely friendly, creating a relaxed yet polished dining experience. It was a pleasure to see familiar, friendly faces like Lisa, Emily, Leslie and Nick— We started with the pretzels and nachos—both were fresh, flavorful, and generously portioned. For my entrée, I had the Smashburger with onion rings, and it was absolutely outstanding. Every bite was cooked to perfection, and the flavors were spot-on. The Well is exactly what downtown Great Barrington has been missing—a lively, inviting spot with top-notch food and service. I’m already looking forward to my next visit and can’t recommend this place highly enough!

Susan is a superb host and the Inn is comfortable, charming and, in a serene wooded setting. It's been sometime since we stayed in a trus B& B, and this reminded us why always enjoyed those stays. A fantastic apple orchard with a diverse and well stocked garden nursery. The view from the orchard is that of Monument Mountain; spectacular to say the least. We travel here from Long Island and this place is a welcome respite from the over crowded orchards and roadways that are the norm for all East End farms. The apples are the main attraction here, and they don't disappoint.

I usually go toward, but decided to try Windy Hill Because I thought words was expensive I bought some ornamental grass and some other bushes all of which were so Rutt bound in the pot that I couldn’t even tear apart the roots that was almost no earth left. They had to have watered them just to keep them alive. In addition, I had 20 plants which all had to be written up one at a time they have no scanning system. It’s very inconvenient. The plants were so root bound I don’t think they will even growTerrible and no less expensive than words, But Wards Is much higher quality and they give points for your purchases and they do warranty some plants Wendy Hill does not I’ve gone to a lot probably all of the nurseries in the Berkshires or New York area, wards is the best

The W.E.B. Du Bois National Historic Site, located in the Berkshires, holds over 250 years of history and is the birthplace of W.E.B. Dubois. It's a significant place for historically important figures like Edith Wharton as well. The site features a trail with informative signs that lead visitors through Du Bois family land, showcasing where his grandparents' home once stood.
This is an informative and nice short stroll through the woods with several stops giving perspective to his life. The path is wide but has exposed pine tree roots that you need to be mindful of.
A G — Google review
This trail is an important piece of history preserved and presented well. This is Du Bois’ family land, purchased to honor and commemorate him. There is a place that shows where his grandparents’ home once stood, but no actual buildings, just a trail with signs. We spent 20-30 minutes walking the trail and stopping to read the informational signs. The trail is flat, but all the roots will make navigating a wheelchair or stroller difficult. Old growth pines along the trail are majestic. Wear bug spray as there are many mosquitoes in the summer.

A tiny site with a few historical reads on boards. Short walk in, short walk out. Spent 5 minutes there.
Wilking L — Google review
It was a good experience to be here, to remember his work and accomplishments. The fact that his home was demolished, and a more modern home was built on the site is telling as well. The property is a big U shape up against the main road with a more modern home in the middle. Not much to see here though other than the plaques that give some background info.
Edson D — Google review
While there is no physical structure to view there are informational plaques along the trail that are quite enlightening.

Loved visiting here. They have a parking lot which was nice. I just wish they would of had more directional markers out to guide or just a way to get out at the end instead of having to walk all the way back through but it was awesome to walk in the land that W.E.B. DuBois once lived.

Go with the right expectations and you won't be disappointed. This is just a lovely walk in the woods which passes by markers with information on W.E.B. Du Bois. Only took about 30 minutes. it is a nice stop if you are passing by and have the time.

The trails are well-marked and offer pleasant day hikes with gentle inclines, making it suitable for all skill levels. While exploring the park, visitors can appreciate the abundant wildlife and lush vegetation, including blooming shrubbery and tweeting birds.
I love MA state parks. Well marked, easy to find and follow. This was a nice trail. Good short day hike. Good part of it has extended inclines but not too steep. Hiked with my pup Roxy. Keep in mind this state land has hunting year round, so keep your dogs near. I just wish there was a part of the trail that looped back around to the pond. I started at the pond and came out at the recreation center.

Pretty bland. Graveyards have more life in them then this pond has. Looks pretty though. Probably a good bet for kids

Nice peaceful walk once off the road. Three mile trail is nice, or you can take the short walk to the fields. Both are beautiful.

No swimming. Ewwww. Trails, picnics, just wandering yes. It was man made at the end of the old trolley line. Had a stage and various entertainment like 100 years ago. Now it's just for hiking and hanging out.

This is a quiet spot just north outside of Great Barrington. It is located on route 7 heading north before you get get to Monument mountain preserve. Pull in and take a moment to pause and take in the pond while you look for birds, beavers, and more. There are walking paths that are easy strolls but can be damp.

First visit to Fountain Pond. We took the easy walk today. Wonderful huge trees and lots of blooming shrubbery. Birds happily tweeting in their great home. Next trip, we will select the second trail- we will walk next to the water - home to many frogs and other wildlife. Give this a try, you will enjoy the peaceful atmosphere

We own two, large beautiful pieces by the talented Marilyn Kalish (one from her Paris collection and one from her horse collection). We had the wonderful honor of meeting the artist and hearing about her process. Our experience working with the gallery and Alan was fantastic. Looking forward to visiting the Berkshires and seeing more of her work!

DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THEM! POSSIBLE FRAUD I purchased an item from them which they claimed was original and authentic. I sent the item to a professional authenticator and was advised the item was counterfeit. I provided the proof to the Vault owner and requested a refund. They said they thought it was real so too bad, they will not refund me. Currently in the process of bringing a civil suit against them.

Art museum
AsiaBarong Gallery, located in the city, is a unique museum-gallery hybrid that showcases an impressive collection of traditional art pieces from Asia. Visitors rave about the exquisite sculptures and a wide variety of antique and newly handmade items available at different price points. The gallery is described as a feast for the eyes, offering beautiful items ranging from small trinkets to larger pieces. Even those not particularly interested in Asian art find it interesting to wander through this extensive collection.
So much art and sculpture. Just so much. Like a beautiful museum but you can buy the pieces you like! If they don’t have it you can get it made. Small items to just gigantic. Could’ve spent hours just looking at everything. Many different Asian cultural items. Musical instruments to statues and icons and paintings and clothing. The owners are very friendly and helpful. They can tell you about every item in detail. Bronze. Stone. Wood. Gems. Ancient and new. They are open only a few days a week right now. We went back to get some more items I liked but they weren’t open again until next weekend and we will be gone. Maybe next year.

This is the most fantastical & reality busting establishment you’ll ever walk into. WHY? Because it’s a fantasy to think you could afford the object of your desire and to see that you can is mind blowing. It’s like walking into a dream that can come true!! I don’t think the particular piece I found ever felt quite comfortable where it was. It was surrounded by antiquity… Great deities of Asian culture, functional pieces of furniture that have stood the test of time. If my memory serves me correctly, I met this object of art many years ago before the pandemic of 2020 and I couldn’t even imagine ever being able to afford such a beautiful thing.. How did this incredible thing be overlooked for 9 years? Bill the proprietor told me it had been moved around a lot but always passed by. I think it was in the wrong kind of place. It was a new modern piece that I think felt like an outcast amongst its ancient peers. When I met it again, I was astonished to see the price had been slashed to almost nothing. The price dishonored it. I was mixed with both joy for my good fortune to be able to acquire it and sadness for the proprietor and the artisan, who spent 100s of hours painstakingly putting this piece together. It will now have a proper place of honor in my home and never be ignored or looked over again! AsiaBarong Gallery transports you to a different place & time and for me, it fulfilled a fantasy of owning a real treasure
Laura J — Google review
Still dreaming about this place! If I lived there, I would be at this Asian Art Gallery every week. And probably empty my bank account 😂. Regardless of the variety of different price tags, I did get some pretty affordable items and was even able to transfer them on the plane. Oh and their dog is sweet too! I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in town.

Marjoram + Roux is a charming restaurant located in Great Barrington, MA, USA, offering dine-in, takeaway, and delivery services. The cozy ambiance and comfortable seating make it an inviting spot for a leisurely meal. In addition to serving tea, coffee, pastries, and chocolates, the cafe offers a full breakfast and lunch menu featuring locally sourced ingredients. Visitors can enjoy a variety of sandwiches, salads, and cookies in the unique atmosphere of the cafe or opt for outdoor seating.
Lately me and my Wife been visiting GB for breakfast. I have to say, I love GB. Such a chill town and Marjoram+ Roux just fits perfectly with that climate. They have great choice of sandwiches, salads, cookies etc. Place is not big but because of that there is very unique atmosphere there. There are some tables outside. Very chill atmosphere. Staff was very nice. We ordered turkey blts. They were DELICIOUS. Bread was so good, perfect amount of ingredients. Added greens were fresh and tasted good. Overall great place!

We ordered a protein bowl that was delicious. It had a mixture of greens, cucumbers, avocado, tomatoes, pickled onions, chic peas and a yummy homemade dressing. It usually comes with rice on the bottom but we were there early in the morning and the rice wasn't ready yet. It's very fresh and fulfilling. We went back on a Monday to order it again and unfortunately it was closed.

LOVED the food that I ordered for lunch and the chai latte that I had. The service was good and the decor was on point. There is indoor and outdoor seating, but know that it's a smaller storefront, so good for small groups, couples, and solo trips - when a line forms it gets crowded. Definitely recommend.

Love checking in to see their lunch specials. This roast turkey sandwich and sesame salad was perfect to share, paired with a blood orange iced tea and topped off with an oatmeal cookie. The staff is exceptionally kind and the shop has great vibes.

We had our company holiday party here. I had heard goodbyes about the place and wanted to try it for myself, and I have to say it was behind my best expectations! Daire and company really know their stiff around food. The guys are still talking about it! Get the frittata!
Karl S — Google review
Nothing noteworthy. Prosciutto mozzarella baguette was very standard but pricier than what you can get elsewhere. The chai latte tasted like drinking straight syrup. Pastries were also mediocre.
CCG G — Google review
Beautiful cafe, beautiful food, beautiful people!! Daire and her team are always welcoming, their food and coffee and pastries are always excellent, and the entire vibe is super solid. Popular for good reason, and the team will get you your order quickly and kindly, even in when they’re slammed. Great vegetarian options, outdoor cafe tables and beautiful angles for the sunshine when it’s sunny—what’s not to love?

A nice spot to grab a quick bite to eat. Limited seating but large tables and neat nooks. Loved that it was dog friendly inside. The dill oil on the potato leek soup was heavenly but the Brie and fig jam baguette was only OK. Our coffee and dirty chai were tasty.

Xicohtencatl Restaurant is a vibrant and lively eatery known for its delicious mole dishes and refreshing margaritas. The extensive menu features a variety of options, including gluten-free choices prepared with care to ensure safety for all diners. The restaurant offers patio seating and occasional live music on weekends, creating a lively and enjoyable dining experience. While the food may not be extremely spicy, it is flavorful and authentic, with standout dishes like carnitas and mole.
Went here for lunch with two friends. We each got something different and really liked what we got. They have a lunch menu. I love the fajitas. My friends got burritos. One was baked and she was very happy with it. They both commented on how good the mole sauce was.
Debra M — Google review
I always definitely disappointed here. I heard so much positive, I was somewhat shocked with the actual restaurant. Definitely more of a bar theme and not what I was expecting. We were seated on top of two other tables in an entirely empty restaurant. Service was so slow, and the server just wasn't present for any of the three diners. The guacamole was delicious. The fajitas (shrimp) were ok but nothing great. The meals appeared to just be thrown on the plate and only two tortillas? I've never been any place that doesn't give you at least 3. Molé was good. Wouldn't go again. Better options in the area.
Suzanne W — Google review
We absolutely love this place. The staff is warm and friendly and the food is so darned amazing. They were even featured on the Food Network for their special Mole. One critic claimed it is the best mole east of Chicago. It is a wonderful blend of spices. More savory than sweet. The guacamole was perhaps one of the best I have ever had. We also ordered the T-Bone steak. My friend likes it bloody rare and it was absolutely perfect! The salmon was also cooked to perfection. Nice thick piece and very moist. It was served over healthy greens with tomatoes, mushrooms and it was lightly dressed in a vinaigrette. Underneath the greens was a small portion of rice. The rice was not your typical rice. There were some mixed veggies (lima beans, peas, corn) cooked into the rice. The service was impeccable. Magali was our waitress. She treated us as if we were guests in her own home. The man that greeted us and showed us to our booth was friendly and accommodating. Also, the very handsome young man that kept our water glasses full was a delight. Everyone was so attentive. As we were leaving Magali gave me a hug and the staff was all lined up and thanked us for coming in.

We were so pleasantly surprised at this wonderful and delicious authentic Mexican restaurant. The food was extremely fresh and was good quality. What a surprise to find these traditional plates here in great Barrington! The rice and beans were wonderful as well as the flaunts and the enchiladas! We enjoyed the home made corn tortillas! The MUSIC was authentic and fantastic. The service was very fast and everything was very clean. Even the water tasted great. ! ? We would definitely return !

This was my medium rare steak! Very disappointing. The Flank steak doesn’t come with beans even if the menu says! When I claimed, they said: “we just changed the menu from winter to summer, I’m sorry about that” Poor communication at all!

We did an overnight stop in the Great Barrington on a swing through Vermont. After several mediocre meals at allegedly fine dining restaurants in the Stowe area, this place was a breath of fresh air. Great service, food and atmosphere. Very nice selection of margaritas at good prices. Would definitely recommend!
Steve A — Google review
Tasty Mexican food in a casual, family friendly setting just outside of the main Stockbridge drag. The food was very tasty and the portions reasonable. Service was fast and our waitress was very friendly. The vegetarian fajitas were quite tasty, but you only got two small tortillas so I ate most of the vegetables just on my plate. You also had to pay extra ($4!!) for a small ramekin of hot sauce, which should not be an a la carte purchase with an already expensive lunch entree. The Rice and beans bowl was at least 2/3 rice with maybe one third refried beans, disapponting. My wife had the carnitas which she said were good but not great. All in all tasty but overpriced.
Damien B — Google review
Passing by this place around dinner time so we decided to give it a try. It was very pleasant to get an outside table. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful. We got the T-bone steak and the fajitas with chicken. Both were very flavorful and tasted good. The food is a bit more expensive but worth the price (the $2 salsa was not a good deal though). The restaurant became busy after 6 pm. Great place.

The restaurant's menu features an extensive selection of delectable dishes, including their renowned ramen bowls. Nice authentic feeling Japanese restaurant. We arrived without a reservation on a Saturday evening of Memorial Day weekend. We were given a spare side counter watching the sushi getting prepared. We were grateful for the meal, but it was slow in getting delivered and having the heat of the toaster oven in your face was less appealing than you'd think. Service was otherwise very good. A tad pricy but the food was excellent.
Katya M — Google review
The only good thing about this place is the atmosphere - which was promising. But the food disappointed big time. sushi/fish could be fresher. The rice was way too hard, dry and had a sourness to it. Wasabi is not real wasabi root, but just typical horseradish with some root powder…that’s what fast food / takeaway places normally use. To serve it with these price tags is not ok. And also the presentation could be better - look at the pictures. The service took extremely long … we waited more than 30min for our sushi order. Can’t recommend
Anton S — Google review
My husband and I have been eating at Bizen for about 7 years now and we've never been disappointed. The food is always fresh and it's also a great place to choose when trying to eat nutritiously. They use organic vegetables and fresh fish, which is what we gravitate towards. The owner, Mike, is wonderful and seems very passionate about the food. The restaurant is also located in a fun, downtown spot and during the summer the seating extends out, where there are vendors and entertainers set up. So much fun. Oh, they also make a great dirty martini!
Teresa G — Google review
We got a table right away on a Friday eve in June. The staff was excellent. We had a seared tuna appetizer which was quite good, Ramen which was quite average, and a special roll which was quite average as well. We were a little disappointed since Bizen had been recommended by a friend. Also, my son and I both had some stomach issues later that evening.
Donna K — Google review
We visited on a Sunday afternoon in March, 2024 and were promptly led to a booth. After removing our shoes and stowing them under the steps, we reviewed the extensive menu and ordered. Service was prompt and friendly. All three of us enjoyed our meals immensely. I'm looking forward to visiting Bizen again next time we are here. Though there are expensive items on the menu; we went with lunch specials (see the photo of the check and the food), green tea, and green tea ice cream. It was delicious and delightful. The atmosphere is pleasant and the restaurant is beautifully decorated.
Carl C — Google review
This restaurant has a huge menu. That actually is not necessarily a plus, as it is likely hard to keep so many fresh ingredients and stay in business. We ordered A5 Wagyu ($40) as an appetizer. It is something we had in other restaurants, so we had a certain level of expectations for this delicacy. It did not look or taste like other a5 wague we had tried. It did not melt in your mouth. It was not bad, and I liked the wasabi sauce that came with it, but the taste and the presentation did not live up to my expectations. Sushi (sushi dinner option) had a good selection of fish, but felt slightly warm. Miso soup was more bland than I had in other places. The service was helpful and friendly. The bathroom was spacious and clean.
Julie's B — Google review
Absolutely delicious food! I’m vegetarian and I loved how many unique vegetarian options are on the menu here. Nice restaurant and the waitress was very nice. I am from out of town I wish I lived closer to this place!
Meret L — Google review
We started with the wagyu eden salad, it's supposed to be A5 Wagyu. It didn't look or taste like A5, it's not bad but it tasted just like ordinary beef. For my main course I had a seafood udon noodle soup. It's ok but a little bland. The salad that came with was salty. The menu is the size of a telephone book which makes it hard to figure out what you want. I'd suggest that they reduce the number of pages by 90%.

The food co-op has a great selection of healthy choices for the discerning palate. Store is clean and the meats and produce are of a very high quality. My only complaint is that the americanos sold at the coffee bar are weak by my standards and the requirement to pay for them first at the registers in the front of the store is very inefficient. Housatonic Flats Reserve is a serene gem along the Housatonic River, once a dumping ground but now transformed into a tranquil wetland edge thanks to dedicated volunteers. The easy, flat trail spans about a mile and offers beautiful river views and informative plaques. It's perfect for all ages and even welcomes friendly dogs. However, the entrance sign may be easy to miss without GPS.
Perfect for a quick walk if you need a moment to relax and reset in nature. Easy parking too!

Perfect for a quick (20 minute) walk on a snowy day when I did not want to venture out too far.
Stephen W — Google review
I appreciate the effort to open up more natural spaces and build more publicly accessible trails, but my experience here left me feeling a little disappointed. It’s a nice easy loop but most of it is more of a mowed path through a meadow than a proper trail. As others have mentioned, the combination of high grasses and wetlands means it’s full of mosquitoes (and ticks). For better options for short, easy walks, I recommend the trails behind the Lake Mansfield parking lot or French Park.
Michael M — Google review
Mellow, flat and very short (under 1 mile) loop. Friendly for all levels, families, and any time I go it is explored by (friendly) dog owners. The river is beautiful. My experience is that it can be quite buggy in the spring and summer, likely due to its proximity to water. Otherwise it is a rather enjoyable experience of nature just off the main road.
Kai C — Google review
Soft flat easy trail of about a mile loop along a little narrow area of the Housatonic River. With tremendous amount of work by volunteers the whole area which was once dumping ground for everything is now a serene little jewel of an edge of wetlands. A good run for active dogs, or a leisurely stroll for elderly ones. Contained on one side by route 7 and the other side by the river.
Misha F — Google review
We used Google maps to find this location. We really enjoyed doing the loop with our kids. The path is clear and there are beautiful views and walk-ups to the river. There is also plaques with info and history. My only complaint is that the sign for the entrance is very small. We had trouble finding it. Drove past it. If you don't use GPS, you may pass the parking lot.

My husband son and I stopped in on a cold evening and got three yummy ramen bowls, dumplings and steamed buns🍜🥟We all could not get enough of this very authentic bone broth with fresh veggies, ginger, thinly sliced beef, chicken and noodles. We had a very happy ending with delicious mango panna cotta desserts with a beautiful chocolate tuille. Such a gorgeous cozy place! Great drinks as well, highly recommend the Thai tea, my favorite!! Thank you Jem and Shane for feeding us yumminess all these years😋🍜🙏🥰

I chose to give this place the benefit of the doubt. The menu was cheap, the app (gyoza) was just like biting into fresh mushy ginger, whether you like it or not. And I ordered the ramen but to my surprise, I had maruchan noodles, with a slice of yesterday’s pork shoulder, in an oily broth that made my mouth feel gross. I couldn’t understand the theme, Asian food, but Latin restaurant vibes? I left after one bite of the main course, out of principle. I have a feeling they knew I was disappointed and still (over)paid full price. I’m from the south and will say my opinion on the tight spacing is biased, but overall I guess the people were nice? Just not nice enough to excuse the food. PS. I was grateful they forgot the other appetizer. I was there with family and we all lost our appetite after eating here.

Both were authentic boasting rich, full flavor. The meat in each soup is high quality. The broth though.... it's all about the broth. The place has a great vibe/aesthetic. Low lighting, clean, chill low key music playing. The staff was great. Friendly and down to earth. I chatted them up about local restaurants and they were able to give me some good recommendations for food and spots to catch live music.

My daughter selected Steam because she wanted Ramen for her 13th Birthday dinner. Well, Steam delivered on that - but so much more! Absolutely delicious Asian fusion food and great beverage selection as well. Our host made our experience truly memorable, including by encouraging us to pose for the attached photo. Bravo!

Top notch tom yum noodle soup and pho. We drove in from Northampton cause we’re tired of the restaurants here. Steam was excellent. We also had the summer rolls and they were the best we’ve had outside of New York or Boston. The service was fantastic and we have leftovers for dinner too! We will be back! Thanks so much for your delicious menu and dishes!

We took our (hangry and Autistic) son there for his 9th birthday at his request. I was back within less than a week for more! They were incredibly accommodating and did so much to help my son feel good while we were there. The owner came to chat with us towards the end of our meal, and sealed the deal in terms of making us feel welcome, even with the birthday boy sometimes being loud with his grunts and growls at moments of frustration. Food was incredible, truly. Service was as good as the food. You definitely want to go here

Mooncloud is a charming and sophisticated spot with a relaxed yet upscale atmosphere. The craft cocktails are expertly made and beautifully presented, offering creative options like the Meteor Shower and Fuego en la Montana. The mixologist/owner is highly skilled, and the charcuterie boards are thoughtfully curated with fresh and flavorful selections. While service may be slow at times, the overall experience of enjoying drinks like the Bladerunner and The Ruby Slipper on the sidewalk is delightful.
Great drink selection! Friendly staff, quick service! Everyone left happy! My mocktail was great too! Fresh pressed pineapple with ginger lime and bubbles!

Love this place! Great service, amazing food and drinks - the mezcal Negroni was delicious. The atmosphere was lovely and fun music too. Would absolutely visit again when in the area 🍸🌙😍

What an awesome place. I went here a few years ago and I remember thinking I couldn’t wait to come back when I was in the area again. I was hoping it was as good as I remembered it to be and it absolutely delivered. The vibe is really cool, music is great, and the bartenders are so talented and kind. My brother and I loved our drinks. Really creative cocktail list and just so well done!! Looking forward to the next time!!

Oh my gosh these cocktails were GOOD. Tucked in such a prime spot, this place delivered the exact vibe we were looking for on a Friday evening. And our charcuterie spread was the perfect complement to the expertly crafted drinks. Bonus points for branded ice cubes 👌
Elyssa F — Google review
Mooncloud is an absolute gem, and a must-visit for anyone who appreciates truly exceptional cocktails and small plates. It's the kind of place that elevates a casual evening into a memorable experience. The cocktails here are the main event, crafted with precision and passion. My classic vodka martini was simply perfect—chilled to the ideal temperature, clean, and expertly balanced. But the real star was the vibrant and delightful Ruby Slipper martini (as seen in the photo), which was an instant favorite. Their mixology program is clearly top-tier, making every sip a pleasure. To complement the amazing drinks, we ordered the charcuterie board, and it was fantastic. The presentation was gorgeous, and the board offered a generous, high-quality selection of cured meats, artisanal cheeses, and perfect accompaniments. Every element, from the savory meats to the tangy pickled onions, was excellent. The highlight, however, was the sourdough toast served alongside—thick-cut, perfectly toasted, and possessing a wonderful texture and tang that made it the perfect vehicle for everything on the board. If you’re looking for amazing drinks and incredible bites in an intimate setting, Mooncloud should be at the very top of your list. Don't leave without trying their cocktails and the charcuterie board with that incredible sourdough.

Ruby Slipper, their take on a cosmo. Sweet, tart, fresh, lovely. Guilty pleasure their take on a espresso martini, creamy smooth and delicious. Then the battle of J* light, refreshing, with perfect tequila. Highly recommend. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Atmosphere was lively and beautifully decorated. ☆☆☆☆☆

Good cocktail bar (especially considering the alternatives in the area). Can recommend Bladerunner. Other drinks were not convincing
Anton S — Google review
We each had one drink before going to dinner in town and had trouble deciding what to get as there were so many appealing options! We all enjoyed our cocktails — the ice cubes were even branded with their logo. We sat outside and service was very slow, which would have been fine on any other night but we were stressed about getting to dinner on time. The drinks were great, though, so kept it at 5 stars!

Guido's Fresh Marketplace is a locally owned and operated gourmet grocery store that not only offers high-quality products but also fosters long-term employment and supports the local community. The marketplace provides a remarkable selection of gourmet goods, including local farm products, organic produce, international items, wines and spirits, as well as amazing meat and fish counters. Additionally, it features outstanding cheese section with self-serve samples.
This is the best grocery store that we have ever visited. We have to travel an hour to get here but it is a nice ride as long as there isn't snow on the ground. This grocery store is how grocery stores used to be - friendly, piles of foods around, and samples. The last time we visited, they had samples of dips, cheese and watermelon which were to die for. Their hot bar menu is always so appetizing with so many options to pick from that are healthy. The soups also look very good which we haven't had the chance to try yet. We will definitely be coming back soon.
Blueeyes — Google review
I’m not sure who is training the people behind the deli counter, but they really don’t know how to slice meat. There’s one or two people that know, but in general I’ve been really disappointed because it’s like they don’t even understand how food works. I’m attaching a video of the mortadella that I asked to be sliced very thin, and it’s like I don’t even want a piece of ham or turkey cut this thick, let alone the imported meats that I consciously decide to splurge and spend money on. Like learn to respect the food you are handling. Then maybe you’ll know that serving sliced meat this thick is the worst and doesn’t do any justice to the food, let alone show respect for the animal giving its life, or for my time I’ve spent earning money to then pay for this. Guidos markets itself as a high-end grocer, and they do have lots of things, but their prepared foods and baked goods are made with cheap ingredients and so it’s not very good, so overall I’ve been disappointed because they are not living up to the level they are trying to be. And a quick mention on how rude the people are at the health/beauty section. Like to the point where I question if I’m the one who doesn’t understand basic social skills because they act like being so rude and inconsiderate is normal.
Keetch M — Google review
My two year old Connecticut toddler asks to go Guido’s constantly and fortunately we make the trip almost each week- there is truly no better produce and I have never met such a holistically kind staff. Every person I’ve interacted with in Guido’s regardless of department goes above and beyond to make your experience nice and it really makes it worth the extra trek for us. Their homemade pasta is super reasonable and a staple easy dinner for us-we just wish they had their teeny checkout donuts at all times.
Jennifer C — Google review
A typical high end grocery store experience. I mainly go for the cafe there as their pre-made salad combos and soups are very good and those are fairly priced for what you get. The rest of the store I found is anywhere from $1-$3 higher for the identical items elsewhere, for example crackers. I just happened to go up/down some of the aisles and the prices of items I typically purchase elsewhere were much higher. The store is clean, cashiers are friendly. I will continue to shop here for items that I feel are a good value and for those products that I cannot easily purchase elsewhere, but I would not do my weekly grocery shopping at Guido’s.

I went there for first time about 6 weeks ago! It was a rainy Sunday and I was just looking for something to do. I just loved the flower shop there and ended up getting two plants and the great staff helped me pick out a vase. I just had a baby bloom in one of the plants and she gave me care instructions ! Look forward to future visits ! Definitely not like a regular grocery store !

Pixie Boulangerie is a delightful bakery that has been highly recommended by visitors. The pastries, including the basque cheesecake, quiche, chocolate chip cookies, and apricot swirl, have received rave reviews for their excellent taste and quality. The unique caramelized top of the basque cheesecake and the light, moist pastry in the apricot swirl are particularly noteworthy.
Really loved the pork sausage hand pie and the tomato goat cheese quiche! All the other pastries also looked great and I’d definitely come back!
Neha D — Google review
I expect that the few reviewers who thought the baked goods were dry may have been referring to the biscotti, which in my opinion is the best biscotti on the planet! Pixie's biscotti is made without butter which is the authentic Italian way to make it. They need to be dunked (in coffee in my opinion.) When they get dunked they become sublime! Biscotti should not be tender and crumbly like a butter cookie! I buy several packs at a time and freeze them. They freeze wonderfully. I will also say that the other baked goods I have tried have been loaded with butter --- the almond croissants are the best!

Wanted to stop by to check the other reviews and this place delivered! Nice selection of fresh bread and pastries. The shop itself it's small, all their space it's covered by the laboratory. No coffe, no tables, no restrooms . Just The basics, done right. I'll definitely come back here to try their loaf and the chocolate babka. The peach Swirl is a must try!

As you walk in, there it is, the smell of bakeries in Paris. Chocolate croissant was delish. Looking forward to eating the apple tart for dessert. Txs! And super friendly staff. Just got home with the tart, opened the box — a work of art. Wish I could convene the sweet tart baked smell of the apples, glaze and crust. Wowo Of course I had to get the mushroom quiche?/pie when I picked up the apple tart order. OMG. Run, sled, ski to this place. Crunchy, full of mushroom flavor, just the right balance with a fluffy egg filling. Yumm. Perfect lunch treat.
Caroline A — Google review
Excellent pastries and bread. It is a bit expensive, but don't be fazed: The products are good enough to be worth it. The pain au chocolat was the best of any of the local bakeries—beautifully flaky with good chocolate. The baguette had a crispy crust and good flavor. They also have some less common items, like the ratatouille handpie, which was yummy. Everything tastes just like it would at a boulangerie in France, so I wouldn't be surprised if the bakers were themselves French!

I’m not pleased to part company with $6 for a small danish. However, I must report to you it is worth the price! Totally delicious!!!

The Pixie Boulangerie is a new discovery for me. The pastries are excellent. So far we’ve tried the basque cheesecake, the quiche, the chocolate chip cookies, and the apricot swirl. All were very good, but the basque cheesecake and apricot swirl deserve special mention. The pastry in the apricot swirl was light, moist, and flavorful. The basque cheesecake is unique with the caramelized top. The staff is friendly. The prices seemed reasonable in our post inflation economy. Highly recommended.

If you're seeking a tranquil escape in Great Barrington, consider exploring the Pfeiffer Arboretum at Long Pond. Tucked away from the bustling tourist spots, this hidden gem offers a serene trail meandering through a predominantly maple and birch forest. Hikers can navigate three boggy sections with raised wooden planks to admire the picturesque view of Long Pond at the trail's end. The well-maintained wooden walkways enhance the overall hiking experience.
Lovely spot for in impromptu nature break.

My son & I and our dog were attacked by 3 different groups of yellow jackets they were extremely aggressive and it was a terrible experience. We have walked there before its a nice walk its just there is a serious issue with yellow jackets right now. I wouldnt reccomend walking here right now until the yellow jacket problem is addressed its quite scary being chased by them they dont give up easily and can bite you more than once.
Kimberly G — Google review
It is a fairly short loop, that can be walked in half an hour. The first part is boggy, but there are raised planks. The trail slopes gently towards the lake, through typical forest. Closer to the water, there is a short spur that goes down to a viewing platform by the lake. The platform is collapsed, but the views are nice. Often, there are beavers there. Back on the loop trail, there is another boggy area before the trail starts looping back towards the road. There are wooden walkways here, too, but they are rotting and falling apart, so caution is advised, especially if it is wet. The trail is not heavily used, so walkers will have it generally to themselves.
David M — Google review
Terrible too muddy and boggy more like a swamp and alot of rivers flowing all over the place. over grown and not easy to get through. the only good part is the pond is huge and you can go to the look out porch which was nice
Stuart R — Google review
A pleasant trail through a forest of predominantly maple and birch trees. As a previous reviewer said, there are three boggy sections with raised wooden planks keeping hikers up and out of the mud. At the terminus of the trail, hikers are rewarded with a view of Long Pond. When I hiked here today (October 9th 2017), all of the wooden walkways were in good shape. Overall one of the nicer and lesser-used trails of Great Barrington.

Cove Bowling and Entertainment, located at 109 Stockbridge Road, Great Barrington, MA 01230, is a popular destination offering a variety of entertainment options. With 24 lanes for bowling, including cosmic bowling, an 18-hole miniature golf course, sports bar, arcade games, and snack bar. The venue also caters to private parties and events.
Seems like the hopping place in town on a Saturday night. Lanes were packed and bar was packed. Darts and pool tables available and a tasty selection of snack foods, hot and cold. Place is clean. We had a good time.

Cove Bowling and Entertainment is a bowling alley located in Great Barrington, Massachusetts. The alley has 22 lanes with automatic scoring, a snack bar, a bar, and arcade games. Though this is a nice place to bowl, it could use some updating. Some of the lanes have serious scuff marks and some areas have small parts of the lane completely missing. The pins also look a little bit worn out. The lane equipment had a retro look, but worked just fine. Prices here were also a little higher than other bowling alleys. Specials are offered online. Staff was courteous. Despite some minor issues, this place offers a nice place to escape and bowl.
Ryan M — Google review
Friendly staff, Tasty grill on site that delivers to your lane. Also a bar separate. The pin setting and ball return equipment works most of the time, but when it does stop working you don't have to wait too long for a fix. I got brand new rental shoes! Lots of televisions overhead to give you something to look at while waiting for your next turn.

Great old school bowling alley with a bar, cafe, and arcade games. Very helpful staff, nice lanes. Would be great for a group and for families.
Annie B — Google review
First we were really happy to be able to come and bowl with the kids. But I had to make them wash their hands like 5-0 times. The places is filthy. Lots of things broken. We had to ask for help over a dozen times. The things that went wrong while we were playing was crazy. They also made us move because someone was coming in. Yet I never seen anyone at all in those lanes. The first lanes we were in worked way better than the ones they put us in. $63 for 1 adult and 3 children. If I’m paying that much for two games I don’t want to have to ad an extra hour of time waiting for them to fix stuff in between each roll. It took 3.5 hours to play two games that’s how many times it stopped working.

Bard College at Simon's Rock is a unique institution located in the Berkshires, resembling the Hudson Valley. Established as an early college, it merged with Bard in 1979 and offers enrollment to students after 10th or 11th grade. Students can pursue either a two-year Associates of Arts or a four-year Bachelor of Arts degree. The college boasts dedicated faculty and staff who create a caring environment for its small student body of around 400 individuals.
It's a great place with really dedicated teachers and faculty. All the people are caring, from the dorm janitors all the way up to the provost. The school is tiny, 400 kids, but if you somehow end up here, you already have a lot in common. The school isn't for everyone, and if you do go here, there's no guarantee that you'll like everybody. But I went here and I'm immensely glad I came here instead of continuing high school.

I would Like to explain my situation a bit, by the time I applied I wanted to get into Bard college due to my academic strengths, later there is this one lady named Danielle in their admissions staff, I was forced to attend there new stupid Bard academy program; the reason is that they need more students in this new program, when I was interviewed they reassured me that I will be assessed for college as well, I had emails and everything to verify this statement, I was accepted not into college but academy, after that for some reason to torment me more they sent an official email from BARD COLLEGE saying I was accepted into the college program, they were literally forcing me to attend academy, I thought maybe it was fine but when the scholarships and everything came, They were literally asking me to pay them 71,000 dollars a ridiculous amount for this small high school program that would not even make me successful. DONT APPLY OR GO TO THIS BARD COLLEGE OR BARD ACADEMY AT SIMON'S ROCK!!!!
Kush V — Google review
If I could give it 0 stars, I would've done so, their admissions staff are the worst they will not assess your aplication on the basis of your intellect or qualities but to increase the space in their new programs, they just want money from you and nothing else. DONT OPT FOR THIS STUPID INSTITUITION!!
Swarn V — Google review
I didn't go to Bard Academy and therefore shouldn't be writing this, but I feel the need to let potential applicants know about their financial aid awards and admissions. I put my heart and soul into getting into Bard, and for months I stressed and worked myself to the bone. And it paid off, I got in. I was elated, but of course, the financial aid grant was far from what my parents could make work. When Coronavirus 'arrived' and schools and businesses shut down, my mother lost her job, and my dad's business was hanging on threads. We tried explaining this to the Admissions/Financial aid team our situation, but instead of a response, were met with a couple thousand dollars knocked down from the massive price tag. We were very grateful for them to give us more, but were confused at the initial kind and welcoming admissions, to indirect communication and overtness. It became clear to my family and myself that as we waited and hoped for them to award us more money, that they don't usually get families coming from my financial background. I was heartbroken and frankly depressed for most of this summer. This was my dream school, I envisioned myself relating to all of these amazing experiences other students had, I envisioned myself thriving. It may have been naive on my family's part to apply to a school like this knowing where we came from. Either way, I can see where their priorities are, and unfortunately, my family wasn't the highest bidder.
Luna C — Google review
I would NEVERRRRR suggest anyone investing their time into this school because the staff there are very inconsiderate and terrible at doing their job.. they will let you know things at the very last minute and don't care.. I was a junior graduate in high school who made mostly straight A's with a 3.5 gpa and decided I really would love to go to college a semester early.. so I invested my time and money into simons rock.. I was enrolled and really excited to start and so was my family! however I had to miss my state exams at my high school and my parents had to withdraw me from my high school as part of the process.. I didn't worry I was too excited about college! a day before my arrival at simons rock which is 14hrs away from home... im on the road to simons rock packed down with my stuff in the car when I get a phone call from Ellen the lady in admissions saying I needed to bring $6,500.00 with me when I arrive.. it was just UNBELIEVEABLE! she did not care if I didn't have it and she did not care that I was on my way.. angry and in tears I had to turn around and face that I would forever be considered a "Dropout" because I could no longer return to high school even if I did I would've been soooo behind and my gpa would've been sooo low. if only I would've known about the $6,500.00 when I applied and got enrolled things would've been much better! but again the staff didn't care about the messy situation that they had put me in.. so I don't suggest this school to anyone!

I am writing on this web site to implore the Bard College at Simons Rock to do something about the Lighting in and around the school. For years many parents, coaches and visitors have mentioned how dark and dangerous it is to walk around this college, especially from the parking lots to the athletic center. After visiting many school/colleges as my children have come to college age, First and foremost on everyones mind is safety, this does not seem to be the case at Simons Rock. On Dec. 20th 1992 this school had a shooting in which two people died and 4 were wounded, it seems so bizarre that this school has done nothing. They have even removed the security guard which use to be at the entrance of the school. While walking from the upper parking lot above the KAC on a rainy over cast night one can not even see the edges of the road let alone have enough light to put your keys in the cars door. The side walks are not level with the grassed edges, you can not see the edge of the sidewalks and often fall off them while walking. The side walks have frost heaves in which you can not see at night or of there is ice on them. It seems to me that Simons Rock College should be proactive in nature and install lighting and "blue boxes" for emergency, instead of waiting and having to be retroactive after someone get seriously injured.

Monument Mountain Reservation is a picturesque park offering various outdoor activities such as hiking, skiing, hunting, picnicking, and birding. The reserve features the 1,642-foot Monument Mountain with stunning panoramic views. The trails are well-maintained and offer unique natural features like ferns, moss, waterfalls, and boulders. Visitors should be cautious of road traffic when accessing the park from Briarcliff Motel.
Got here early and hiked for the sunrise. Went the right way up and it was quite challenging but I was glad that we did it in the order that we did, hitting the summit first for the sunrise and then looking at the face from the side afterwards. The blue trail on the way down was definitely longer and part of it is right next to the road so it was better to leave for the end.

My best friend and I went to Monument Mountain because we decided to start our fitness journey by taking a hike. Literally. When we arrived, we found that you have to pay six dollars for parking. Which while annoying is not unheard of. Unfortunately, even though I paid six dollars, it wouldn’t print out an actual ticket so I paid six dollars for nothing lol. As far as the hike goes, we followed the blue Mohican monument trail and then transitioned over into the yellow hickory Trail. It was 2 1/2 miles total and I’m not gonna lie. There was a lot more uphill than my unathletic self was prepared for. There was a lot of uphill, a lot of huffing and puffing, so many regrets lol. And the last bit of the trail is downhill and had a weird angle and my body didn’t quite know how to adjust itself into an upright position. But I will say that trail had some of the most beautiful sites and views just of the forest alone. We came across a cool waterfall and so many areas where it just made you feel like you were either in a magical forest or on an adventure to seek out fairies or dragons. Some of the rock formations were amazing, including one area that had a giant rock with ferns on it that looked like it was floating. The photos I took could not do it justice. The colors didn’t come out the way your eyes see them, and the views just could not be matched with the camera. I thought I was dying. But it was totally worth it. I’ll probably go on a less strenuous hike for my next one until I work back up to it though lol.

Great hike up the steep yellow trail but completely doable. All trails makes it sound scary...it's fine...even for youngsters. Views were gorgeous from different peaks on the top. Took the blue trail back which is longer, easier and very pretty in spots...like a narrow carriage road.

Our family hike was a little more intense than we expected. We took the yellow trial up and the blue trail down. Before entering, we saw that there was a waterfall/gorge. Although it wasn't the kind of waterfall we were hoping to see, it was pretty! The paths were beautiful and the view was gorgeous! I would just say to anyone hiking with little ones, and those who might be a little more physically challenged....this was not an easy hike. My mother-in-law and sister-in-law had to turn around and waited for us back at the entrance. I'm glad they did, because it only got more steep and the rock climbing would have been too intense for them. They did see a friendly bear on the way back, which was exciting. Unfortunately, our group didn't see the bear. Overall, for those of us who finished our hike, we enjoyed it and we are glad we kept going! We are by no means experienced hikers. So, for those who like to hike mountains, I'm sure this would be a breeze. For those who are like us, I just hope you're mentally prepared and are not expecting easy trails through the woods. Definitely a little more intense than that, but worth the hike! 🙂

Hiked here today. It's listed in AllTrails as Hickey and Peeskawso Peak Loop. Great loop trail with a lot of beautiful rock stairs to get to the top. Lots of unique and pretty natural features like delicate ferns, moss, small waterfalls and gigantic boulders. Beautiful pictures at the summit. Parking lot was full by the time we left at 12:50 on a Saturday. Took us an hour and 20 minutes to complete. $6 to park. Worth it to hike at least one time. It had rained and there were lots of leaves. It would be slippery with wet or dry leaves so make sure you have good grip on your shoes or be careful coming down. I saw 2 dogs on the trail. Even though you pay to park, be aware there are no bathrooms or trash cans. Weird. Overall a good hike and worth the price.

Excellent short hike for nice views. Be aware if you're bringing a dog-there are steep, rocky inclines up to the peak. If you have a dog who does not fear injury or worse (like mine) exercise caution with them at the top.

Great place to go hiking. It took us about 2hrs hike the complete mountain. We did have to take brakes. It is a moderate hike take your time and be careful and you won't have a problem. The view at the top is amazing. You can see two state from there and take lots of pictures. It feel like your standing on top of the mountain literary lol.

Limited time so we took the "short" route. Won't make that mistake again LOL It was a wo perfume hike with family and the view makes every step up the Mountain worth it!

Good Beer, Nice People. My son gave me a gift card to Big Elm. An hour drive, but well worth it. Safe, curb-side pickup. Friendly staff confirmed that the 4 I chose were great choices. I'm definitely coming back after the vaccine! 9/17/2022 - stopped by again, while passing thru the Berkshires. Great beer and really nice staff - she gave me a cup of water for my thirsty pooch. I got 2 4pks and some probiotic soda. Again, great beer! 10/16/2022 - extending the outdoor season with Big Elm

Fantastic beer, the atmosphere was awesome, and the owner or one of the owners who was there was incredibly helpful with local tips and advice for hiking. Pretty much everyone in there was friendly and helpful, and the good beer, wifi, and board games were just bonuses to boot!

Super cute place! Very clean! The bartender was awesome.. I forget his name.. but he only works on Thursday’s! Great selection of beers and ciders.. I opted for flights so I could try everything! Outside they have comfy rocking chairs on the porch. There’s cards and different games…

We stopped here after a trip to the Norman Rockwell museum and honestly didn't expect the place to be so much fun. From the outside, it looks like a generic commercial building. On the inside, you are greeted by friendly staff, good beer, and even a Nintendo arcade game with all the classics loaded onto it. They appeared to be dog friendly and there was plenty of parking outside. There was also a food truck in the parking lot.

Great beer and friendly and knowledgeable staff. Would give it five stars but at times when you are trying to enjoy a favorite pint of beer you disturbed by unruly children running around and being loud.
