New American restaurant
Restaurant
Beatstro is a trendy restaurant in The Bronx that offers a fusion of Southern and Puerto Rican comfort foods, along with brunch staples and cocktails. It's known as the 'Hip-Hop restaurant' and features a speakeasy ambiance with DJ sets and Open Mic nights.
I had the pleasure of being served by the beautiful and incredibly charming Rachel, who took the time to walk us through the entire experience and let us know what to expect. My brunch date and I went with the chicken and waffles, along with a side of mac and cheese—everything was phenomenal! The music, the drinks, the service, and the overall atmosphere were all on point. Rachel even shared the days they host special events that she thought I’d be into, which was super thoughtful. I’m definitely coming back for another round of bottomless mimosas and sangria. Great vibes all around!

I've heard so much about this restaurant. I dined here on a weekday after 8pm. It wasn't crowded. The ambiance was chill, other than the boisterous lady at the bar who appeared to be in intoxicated. Upon entering the waitress gave us the option of a bar seat or table. We selected a table, but it was too cold where the tables are (in the back of the restaurant). So we elected to sit at the bar. The decor very impressive!! Service was great. The bartender was very attentive. She also was great when ordering, she was able to give us a few good selections on the menu. The food wasn't as impressive as the decor. The food was OK. I would definitely dine here again to try other selections on the menu. Give them a try!
Shanta H — Google review
Rating: ★★★☆☆ (3 stars) I had a mixed experience at this restaurant, primarily due to some food issues and less-than-stellar service. We were seated promptly and had ample time to review the menu. However, the service quickly became overwhelming. The waitstaff frequently approached us, almost rushing us, and came over right as we finished our last bites to ask if we wanted the check. It felt like they were anticipating a large table and wanted us to clear out. Considering that a large group beside us was moved to the bar and staff were rapidly rearranging tables around us, I’m unsure why we were seated just 30 minutes before their arrival when there were plenty of other available tables. Regarding the food, we both ordered the NUEVAyol drink, which was decent but not worth the $17 price tag. The chicken and waffles were enjoyable, although the chicken itself was unseasoned; only the breading had flavor, and unfortunately, some parts of it were burnt. The steak and eggs, however, were disappointing. I ordered the steak medium-rare, but it arrived well done, with crispy edges and essentially folded in half from overcooking. Additionally, I was disappointed to see an automatic 18% gratuity added to our bill for just two people. I understand this might be standard for larger parties, but it felt excessive in this case. I certainly wouldn’t have tipped $15 for the rushed service we received. On a positive note, the atmosphere was delightful. A live DJ played Hip Hop tracks, and the decor featured nice art along with a faux speaker wall, which contributed to a vibrant vibe!
Bree C — Google review
First off walking into this place was dope and had great vibes. Ordered my food and while waiting I decided to order a drink which was extremely great. I patiently waited about 25 minutes before the food came out. Got my order walked out and drove home. As I got home opened my tray I noticed right away the undercooked pernil (roast pork) with Slimy rice I was in shock. No way I was going to drive another half hour in traffic to get something else. Pernil looked as it was boiled in water and not roasted. The rice was undercooked as well as the semi solid chopped carrots and beans. Definitely not what I expected from this gorgeous place.
Christopher F — Google review
We celebrated a birthday. They were very accommodating for our large party! The vibe was a vibe! The food was okay and unlimited Mimosa/Sangria, she kept them coming! Most of all it’s a great place to celebrate!
Terrance A — Google review
The food and drinks are amazing, BUT for $50 to $100 it would be great to be able to have a conversation with friends without the music being so loud like a night club, it’s so unfortunate. The volume literally impacts your eardrums. The marketing strategy of having a “Sunday Party” being the excuse only makes it more disappointing since it’s intentional.
Sir F — Google review
It was ok. The food was good, the service not so much. Our waitress rarely came to see us after taking our order. Automatic 18% gratuity. Also, the music is so loud. Makes you feel like you're at a club instead of a restaurant.
Patrice W — Google review
This is a great place for music! The DJ is awesome! The reason I gave it 4 stars is because, you cannot have a conversation or hear your waitstaff. The food is good. Personally I like my collard greens simmered and tender. These were undercooked. Catfish was good. Wings were crispy and delicious. Rib’s were good. Sangria was great! Overall it is an experience if it’s your first time. We had the preset menu for our group of 8. I’m sure this place would be great later in the evening! The DJ knows how to mix it up!!!!!

Charlies Bar & Kitchen is a vibrant spot in the South Bronx, offering sophisticated global fare and creative cocktails. The restaurant features daily specials like $2 tequila shots on Tuesdays and $1 oysters on Thursdays, along with a happy hour until 7 p.m. Monday through Friday. Known for its Southern cuisine, it also offers a signature $15 sampler where guests can choose up to three sides.
I went to Charlie’s for burgers and beer with my boyfriend, and we had a great time! The burgers were absolutely delicious, and the sweet potato fries were just as good. The ambience was really nice—perfect for a casual but quality dining experience. It’s a great gem in Mott Haven for anyone looking for a solid burger spot. Definitely worth a visit!
Ashley A — Google review
Just ordered takeout from Charlie’s, and I have to say, I’m very disappointed. I’m not sure if there’s been a change in ownership, but the food quality has dropped significantly. I ordered Charlie’s Chicken Burger and fried chicken—both used to be my favorites. Previously, the burger came with coleslaw, an egg, and deliciously seasoned chicken. This time, the chicken burger was burnt, tasted awful, and looked like cafeteria food. It was honestly the worst chicken burger I’ve ever had. The fried chicken was also severely burnt and had a terrible taste. To make things worse, the food was overpriced. The only reason I didn’t return it was that I didn’t see how bad it was until I got home. This experience was extremely disappointing.
Luis A — Google review
Charlie’s Bar & Kitchen is a beautiful spot, stylish but comfortable, with a real sense of character. The staff was excellent: friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. I had a BLT, which was solid and hit the spot. The cocktails were well-made and clearly crafted with care. It’s the kind of place that feels like a local favorite and a destination at the same time. Definitely planning to come back.

Charlie's Bar + Kitchen is a beautiful restaurant with a western menu. They offer an array of handcrafted cocktails in a rustic yet contemporary setting with eclectic art pieces. Overall, the service and food is good. It's a great edition to The Bronx and what the eating scene has to offer. Check their website or socials for happy hours and live performances. It's a great spot for a Saturday with a small group of friends in the mood for comfort food and fun.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fantastic Food, Great Vibes & Top-Tier Service! Charlie’s Bar and Kitchen is an absolute gem! From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere is warm, inviting, and full of good energy. The food is incredible—every dish is packed with flavor and perfectly cooked. The drinks? Top-notch, expertly crafted, and always on point. The service was outstanding—friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home. Whether you’re here for a casual dinner, drinks with friends, or a night out, Charlie’s delivers on all fronts. Definitely a must-visit spot, and I’ll be coming back for more! Highly recommend! 🍽️🍹🔥 #CharliesBarAndKitchen #5StarExperience #GreatFoodGreatVibes #MustVisitSpot #FoodieApproved

The food was mediocre and overpriced. The place was very noisy and crowded. The waitresses could have used more help, they were very nice and professional. It was over 40+ yrs I been in this neighborhood which is now surrounded by many restaurants and condominiums not far from the third avenue bridge. The place was at one time called Piano Factory, which till this day it is still called. We waited over an hour to have our food served.
Latin M — Google review
The hummus appetizer was a standout start to the meal — simple, fresh, and absolutely satisfying. The hummus is homemade and the flavors are perfectly balanced. And it comes with cucumbers, pickled onions, olives, feta, tabbouleh, and warm pita. I added grilled chicken as well. It's a huge portion, perfect for sharing or as your main entrée.
Christine H — Google review
No A/C. A lot of mixed messages that were unclear. Came for a qtpoc event, and the menu was reduced to 5 items than what was online / here, even my Bruschetta was supposed to have sprinkled meat on it, and it wasn’t, and I asked for a non alcoholic drink, and he was trying to flood me with alcohol. They try to pressure you to get a food / drink combo for $40 rather than allowing us to buy individually. Drinks start at $12, over average. Gender neutral bathrooms, accessible entrance ramp, but lack of transparency.

Mexican restaurant
La Morada is a cozy Oaxacan restaurant located in the South Bronx, known for its authentic and award-winning Mexican cuisine. The family-owned establishment takes pride in its Indigenous roots and offers a variety of traditional dishes such as moles, tlayudas, and enchiladas. Beyond serving delicious food, La Morada also doubles as an activist space, providing support to immigrant communities through various initiatives and events.
Such a special place! It offers traditional moles and other Mexican classics. The focus on Oaxacan cuisine is wonderful. Everyone here is so sweet, and their community work is incredible. A must visit!!!

Great meal and really friendly, welcoming service. Love what the restaurant stands for as well.
Logan G — Google review
Can I go against the grain here and say it’s kind of overpriced? The prices aren’t what the menu says and the vegan food is very stingy. Also, heads up, in spite of the credit card signs it’s cash only. Yes, the food is good. Yes. The lady is wonderful. But still, overpriced for you’re getting.
Eric C — Google review
Delicious food, had al pastor tacos, white mole, and vegetable enchiladas. Really flavorful bites of food. As a Korean the white mole was a bit difficult for me to wrap my head around, since we make a dish similar to this but with totally different flavor. The horchata was fresh made (I don’t know how that is possible, but it was good), and limonata great as well. I came after watching Taco Chronicles on Netflix. The famed vegan squash flower tacos were not yet available as it is seasonal and they will appear roughly end of June through September. Can’t wait to come back and try those. Not the most modern dining area, very local feel which was appropriate of course, but I do wish a bit more attention was paid to interior, but like I said, great food and great service. Well worth checking out!
Glen — Google review
Great place to eat real and traditional Mexican food. The owner and her staff are great people. The make you feel welcome from the time you step in. Keep up the great work and thank you
Jose T — Google review
Excellent food—fantastic mole!—nearly everything is gluten free, and the agua frescas were delicious as well. Even simple items like the rice and beans were very nicely done. Great service. Not a fancy interior, but very clean and the food is sooooooooooo good.
Kenneth R — Google review
This place is awesome. It’s a small hidden gem in the Bronx. It’s a family owned restaurant and it’s delicious authentic Mexican cuisine. They deserve their Michelin recommendation. They make their own mole sauce which is very hard to find. I love this small local restaurant. The food is delicious and I felt like I was in Mexico while eating here.

Puerto Rican restaurant
Lechonera La Pirana is a popular food spot located in the South Bronx, specifically at the intersection of Wales Avenue and East 152nd Street. Run by Angel Jimenez, also known as Chapi Chulo, this trailer offers traditional Puerto Rican delicacies such as lechon, which is slow-roasted suckling pig served with rice and a flavorful garlicky sauce.
I had a wonderful time, the patrons waiting with me to be served were a delight, conversations were flowing naturally like if we knew each other for years. The food is wonderful and fulfilling, you can feed two people with one meal. May God continue to bless this man and his mission.
Nilza R — Google review
It was a beautiful Saturday, so I decided to trek up to the Bronx to finally try the much-hyped Lechonera La Piraña—and OMG, I can’t believe it’s taken me this long. Yes, be prepared to wait. I showed up at 12:30 and there was already a line. Service started around 1pm and it does move slow. But it’s definitely worth it. Once it’s your turn, the very friendly chef is just so much fun—chatty and giving you tastes as he prepares your meal. And it is a serious meal. He packed so much pork, crackling, octopus, shrimp, and rice into the box it about put me into a food coma. But it was good—the pork super tender, the crackling some of the crispiest I’ve had. All the seafood was fresh and delicious, and the rice super flavorful. Not the healthiest of meals, but such a great weekend outing for a flavor-packed lunch. I’ll be back!
ReedH — Google review
Great atmosphere, got there and the smell in air was organically bueno! Waiting on the line was awesome with the small little live music (salsa) The portion were small and price was high...$25 for a lil bit of arroz con gandules, a few chunks of pork, 2x2 piece of pork skin yummy flavor tho, one entire bland green banana and a minuscule portion of octopus salad...the Mojito was the bestest part .. of which was much need to make the dry pieces edible....Love loved everything else.. vibe was on point 😄
Sparkle S — Google review
I saw this on Instagram and had to visit since I originally came from this neighborhood. I gave it a 3 for food just because I never had the chance to taste anything other than the pork since it all ran out. Here's my disappointment. I arrived at 1:30 and was on line for 5 hours only to finally make it to the front, and he ran out of everything. He had 2 more pieces of pork cooking and said they'd be ready in 1 more hour, so I waited. That took 2 additional hours, so in total, I waited 7 hours to only receive pork. He charged me 20.00 which I thought was unfair due to the fact that it wasn't a full serving because he had to spread it with the others left on line and also no other food sides were available because he ran out of everything. I feel after waiting so many hours we should've been given the small portion of pork for 10.00, since, as I mentioned, it was a very small serving. On the positive note, Angel is super cool, funny, charismatic, and full of energy. I don't know how he does it all all day by himself. The pork skin was excellent and crispy, and the garlic sauce had my breath smelling like garlic for days. It was delicious. It was an experience to be around my people, but I will not go back. it's too long of a wait. I left by 8 pm with my little foam container of pork.
Charlotte S — Google review
I stood on the line from 2:30-5:45 and this is what I got for 20.00 not worth the 20.00 no rice left no bananas left nothing left but pencil and it was not worth 20.00 I will never go again not worth it. Not to mention the potion was horrible .
Deidra G — Google review
Let’s just say when you’re here, you’re familia ! 10/10 experience . Owner is in this just for the love of the game tbh . We went after a Yankees game so they were just wrapping up. I can only imagine what the foods like when I get there first thing in the morning . Shoutout to the owner
Ryan L — Google review
Lechonera La Piraña is incredible! The lechon is crispy, juicy, and packed with flavor — easily some of the best in the city. The portions are huge, the sides are delicious, and everything tastes homemade. The vibe is chill and full of good energy, and the people are super friendly. Real deal Puerto Rican food that never disappoints
Queen B — Google review
I waited for a long time to eat there...came from FAR away just to try out his PR cuisine. The smell in the air upon arrival was awesome, the environment was fun of which the 3 hour wait in line favorable. However, the food was below standards...the pork (pernil) was flavorless and dry. The arroz con gandulez was hard....I won't go back again

Italian restaurant
Restaurant
Dominick's is a long-standing Italian restaurant located in Little Italy. The eatery offers a communal dining experience with large pinewood tables where diners can enjoy family-style pastas and entrees. What sets Dominick's apart is the absence of a written menu, but guests can expect classic Italian dishes like veal parmigiana, mussels marinara, and linguine with white clam sauce.
“I have eaten as much as I can, not as much as I want to, but as much as I can.” Per a son on the verge of summer break at Dominick’s Italian on Arthur Street, Bronx. The mussels starter with tomatoes sauce was outstanding. Omg. I usually only eat mussels with butter and garlic but I am converted! Ossobuco, Roast Pork and Cabbage, and Lamb Chops were truly excellent. The steak was declared very good (and fully consumed). The potatoes with the steak were fine but not life changing. This might be because the dishes were on the upper range of perfectly salty. By contrast the potatoes were not salted. One sits family style, sharing tables for 8 (or 12) with other patrons. On a gentler day we might have made some new friends, but we came hungry and impatient today. We love this style of eating, and have been here before. Highly recommended!
Sweeta B — Google review
A friend had recommended this place and so we tried it. It’s definitely a no-frills kind of environment so you definitely don’t go for the service. They are very fast and efficient but it feels more of an effort to flip the table. We sat downstairs, but there’s also a large area upstairs that had seating and was a lot quieter. The dishes are HUGE and 2-3 people could split a main dish with the portion sizes. The chicken Parmesan hit the spot and I’d come back for that alone. We also tried the stuffed artichoke, but it wasn’t great.

My father took me here 50 years ago. They wrote the menu on a paper bag and hung it on the wall. They have a menu now for those who need it. Great southern Italian food at reasonable prices. They use san marzano tomatoes and extra virgin olive oil which are the highest quality ingredients. I highly recommend a visit.

Cozy family style restaurant serving authentic southern Italian cuisine. Started in 1962, this place is where people come from near and far, the owner Charlie greets all customers warmly with a pleasant smile! If you are looking for a family style comfort food experience this is your go to place!

Nestled in the heart of the Bronx's Real Little Italy, Antonio's Trattoria is a delightful haven for lovers of authentic Italian cuisine. This cozy trattoria boasts a warm ambiance that invites you to unwind and savor every bite. Renowned for its brick-oven thin-crust pizzas, each pie is crafted with care, offering a taste of Neapolitan tradition.
Antonio’s is exceptional! Everything we ordered was so delicious and full of flavor. Hands down, best chicken parm I have ever had! The staff was also so friendly and attentive. Make sure you do not skip dessert! They did a great birthday celebration as well. Thank you to Antonio’s for making our dinner so special!

I rarely give 5 stars, but the food was amazing, service was attentive, prices are reasonable, and the atmosphere was warm. The bread was fresh and very soft. The sausage Rotini Rugantini was creamy and heavenly. Chicken pharm pizza was absolutely delicious. Fried calamari was crispy. Tiramisu was light and not too sweet (which can be shared with 2-3 people). Restrooms are clean. Wait time for seats were reasonable. Relaxed family environment. Credit cards accepted. Parking may be difficult. The food was amazing! I would come back.

Fantastic experience. I made a reservation for 14 of us - easy! Called to reconfirm a week prior - confirmed, easy! The staff was incredibly friendly, accommodating, and just all around super! We had a blast for my husband's 40th celebration and couldn't recommend more!

Food was amazing. Highly recommend the garlic knots parm style and Chicken Parm Ala Vodka! However, I do wish they gave more pasta with the dishes. Finished the pasta in a few scoops, seemed smaller than a kids order.

It was VERY VERY GOOD. I had chicken parm … succulent tasty hearty. I didn’t eat the pasta, I was too full. The broccoli was really good too—firm and tasty. The cheesy bread 🤩 I asked for A scoop of gelato but got a nice portion, which I happily ate. The cannoli was okay— a lil too much cream. It was dimly lit which complemented the old school music so the vibes were nostalgic. Most importantly the staff was accommodating and genuinely nice. #Fonz I’d return … sooner than later! You should too. Google was right! 😉

I ate here after walking around the zoo, and it was worth the wait. Delicious arancini. Lasagna was very good, although different than what I’m used to. It didn’t have multiple layers of noodles, but the meat and ricotta and sauce was perfect. Enjoyed a glass of wine and the fresh bread and the atmosphere. The service is very friendly and energetic. I’m glad I found this restaurant.

Excellent food and atmosphere. The staff were so kind and funny 🙏🏽 thank you for my lovely experience.

The food was subpar. Maybe they had their third string team in the kitchen but it was nowhere near the 4.6 rating it currently has. The mozzarella caprese and straciatella apps were good but unremarkable. The chocolate cake was the best course of the meal. I sent back the chicken quattro formaggio entree- the ingredients were conceptually amazing but did not come together. The gravy was equivalent to a jarred sauce. I next ordered gluten free penne with broccoli rabe. The broccoli rabe was fresh but the garlic-olive oil sauce was watery and the penne was Barilla gluten free quality (falls apart.) The service was friendly but doesn't seem like anyone is showing them the ropes. The cost of the meal is not proportional to the presentation and quality.

Louie & Ernie's Pizza is a classic, family-owned pizzeria that has been serving traditional thin-crust pies and slices since 1959. Originally started by a pair of brothers in Harlem in 1947, the pizzeria later moved to Pelham Bay and now operates in a charming house-turned-restaurant. The menu offers an array of brick oven pizzas with various toppings, including original combinations like Pizza Salernitana and Pizza Tartufato.
Louie & Ernie’s in the Bronx is a true hidden gem, nestled in a neighborhood where change creeps in slower than a New York cab stuck making it's way through rush hour (and that’s a good thing!). For every bustling block in Manhattan to North Brooklyn, there are places like this, where the only constant is the familiar faces of its dedicated patrons. For over 65 years, locals have made their way here in search of pies that remind them why they fell in love with pizza in the first place. This is pizza perfection. The margherita slices are simply unforgettable, and the sausage pies are unique to this spot. Situated on a quiet corner of the Country Club neighborhood, it’s easily overlooked—no flashy signs, no bright lights, and no one begging for your attention. Louie & Ernie’s doesn’t set out to impress, yet it manages to leave a lasting impression. Louie & Ernie’s embodies the spirit of old New York, where the pies have character, the sauce has perfect balance of flavor, and the cheese has just the right “sheen" and nuttiness. This establishment isn’t about reinventing the wheel; it celebrates the beauty of tradition and the pleasure of savoring a slice that takes its time. Hands down, one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had. With many options to choose from, a classic cheese or sausage hits just right. *Cash only establishment*

🚨🍕Pizza Alert! 🍕🚨 This place is absolute fire!!! 🔥🔥🔥 Let me tell you, the crust is perfection 🤤, the sauce is out of this world 🤤, the cheese is so melty and delicious, and the sausage… omg 🤤. Just perfection in every bite. The calzone? Hands down, the BEST I’ve ever had in my life 🥖🔥. I honestly can't believe I waited this long to discover this gem. From the moment you walk in, you feel like family. It's that warm, cozy, “Mom-and-Pop” vibe that makes you want to stay forever. The pizza is so good, I couldn't stop eating—even when I was full! 😅 And if you know me, you know I eat pizza ALL the time. This spot has officially topped every other place I’ve ever been. 🍕💯 The staff is amazing, too. Even when they’re busy, they greet you with a smile and the best attitude. 😊 Seriously, don’t wait—get here NOW. Like, right now! You won't regret it! 😍

Yes it’s always in the “top 10 best pizza in NYC” lists — and it’s great. But it’s not worth a trip from more than a borough away. We had the margarita (which has great mozzarella and a very bright vibrant red sauce) and a very good sausage pie (the fennel sausage is great!).

Classic Bronx pizza! Long standing, popular pizza parlor is cozy and inviting. Delicious regular pie and broccoli rabe calzone. Cash only, street parking.

I’ve had their famous sausage pie before and it was great. However, it totally failed to live up to the hype today. Ordered a sausage slice and it literally looked like sausage there’s thrown on the slice. No care in presentation whatsoever.

Was told by so many people that this was the spot to go visit. I finally went ahead and listened and pay them a visit, I went with the family and ordered 2 large pies one just cheese that was for my kids and one cheese and sausage that was my wife and I. I must say we got our first pizza which was the cheese pizza large (the kids pizza ) and I was so disappointed in how burned the underneath was I mean my kids started eating and immediately started making weird faces there mom and I asked what’s wrong they replied this thing is super burned at first we were like no way it’s fine just eat it but then we decided to try it and were absolutely stunned on how charred it was underneath I mean I had coal fire pizza before but this was definitely left unattended for a while then served it was super burned. We were very angry that the kids had to go through that but we’re also not the type of people to complain at the moment just to avoid any animosity nor any smart remarks on behalf of the staff. We then received our second pie and that was much better I even had to stop eating my portion which was half the pie that had cheese to offer it to my kids cause they were very hungry there mom had her side which was the sausage side and finished hers. All I’m saying is that if you’re going to visit this location tell then from the very beginning not to burn the pizza or leave it too long cause you will not enjoy it. This fits as a learning lesson through our process it sucks cause we were really looking forward to this but hey it’s ok maybe next time. Take care folks and enjoy just be sure to mention not to burn the pie and you should be good.

I drove over 30 minutes to Louie & Ernie’s Pizza in the Bronx after reading tons of glowing reviews—and I truly wish I hadn’t wasted my time or money. I ordered an extra-large pizza with extra sauce, extra cheese, and half garlic, sausage, and pepperoni. The smell in my car on the ride home had me hopeful, but that’s where the excitement ended. For a whopping $46.00, I expected something special. That’s well above the average price for even a loaded XL pizza in the city, and honestly? I can’t imagine how bland and dry it would’ve been without the “extra” sauce and cheese I paid for—probably like eating a matzo cracker with toppings. And even with the extras, it was still dry, the cheese was sparse, and parts of the crust were burnt to a crisp. The sauce lacked any depth—no basil, no salt, just a plain, uninspired tomato base that brought nothing to the table. Totally underwhelming. Oh, and be aware—cash only, which just adds another layer of hassle in this day and age. Deluso decisamente. Save your money and your gas—this one’s all hype, no heart

Nestled in the vibrant Morris Park area of the Bronx, Patricias of Morris Park is a charming restaurant that celebrates the flavors of southern Italy. Their wood-fired pizzas are renowned throughout the borough, with options like the classic Regina featuring D.O.P. San Marzano tomatoes and buffalo mozzarella. The menu also boasts delectable pasta dishes such as pumpkin stuffed ravioli and rigatoni Pavarotti with broccoli rabe and shrimp.
Always a great time! Food is always delicious. My go to is the Spicy Rigatoni with side of their amazing meatballs. My kids love their Margherita Pizza. Drinks are also delicious and strong!

I am writing to express my disappointment with my recent order. As a regular customer who has always enjoyed bringing clients to your establishment, I was looking forward to another great experience. Unfortunately, this time I was left very disappointed. I expected better. This was my first time ordering delivery, and it was a disaster. After waiting for 1 hour and 15 minutes, I received a cold pizza and a cold croquette. When I asked the delivery driver to take the cold order back, I was told to call the restaurant. Upon calling, I was informed that a new pizza would be made, but it would take another thirty minutes. The interaction over the phone further solidified my decision to no longer patronize this establishment. I will be sharing my negative experience with others and no longer believe the hype surrounding this restaurant. It is evident that many of the positive reviews are likely written by family and friends. Additionally, I would appreciate it if management could review the quality and condition of both the first pizza and the second pizza delivered. This might help in understanding the issues and improving the service for future customers.

Don’t mean to be a tough critic but just not at all impressed with the food here. I’ve tried a few times from pasta to pizza but nothing on the menu hits unfortunately. Despite this, still a very busy and active place. Food looks a little better than it tastes. Also very tight dining area. Both wine glasses I had were somewhat dirty. Very limited street parking.

Burger was burnt on one side and tasted like burned manure, and had American cheese instead of cheddar. Waiter argued with me and refused to fix the errors. Would not even look at the burger. Said it was not possible to cook a burger on the grill without blackening it, which was not even the problem. Insisted the slices of Kraft American cheese on my burger were cheddar and said some ridiculous garbage about cooking burgers for 30 years. Learn how to cook a burger and what cheddar cheese is. Also gets extremely loud and they will not turn down music, cannot hear other people at the table sometimes even when they are yelling.

I frequently eat here, so I decided to stop by the bar for a few drinks and a light dinner. The food was just as good as always, but the service was nearly nonexistent aside from Steven. After sitting at the bar, I had to request service from the female bartender because she never approached or acknowledged us. We stayed for about 2.5 hours (8:00 to 10:45 p.m.), and not once did she check if we needed anything. Meanwhile, Steven who was moving between the dining room and the bar was consistently attentive, professional, and clearly the only one prepared to serve. It honestly felt like nobody cared except him. The bartender spent most of the night on her phone and barely paid attention to the roughly 12 guests at the bar unless someone flagged her down. It was one of the worst service experiences I’ve ever had at a small restaurant, which is surprising given this place’s great reputation in the neighborhood. I would’ve liked to speak with a manager, but there didn’t seem to be one present. It almost felt like the bartender relied on Steven’s work ethic to carry the entire shif

Tonight I dined at Patricia’s for the 2nd time and I’m never disappointed. The owners/managers greeted me and my party immediately, got us a high chair for my 1 year old. Patricia’s of Morris Park is one of the best restaurants I’ve ever dined in. Everything was perfect from the wait staff to the food. We shared calamari as an appetizer. My main dish was the veal parmigiana with a side of pasta. Delicioso! The portions are huge. I brought home half of my entree as well as the pasta. We had cappuccino and complimentary biscotti, which was very generous. Our server Maria was wonderful in every way, and the atmosphere is authentically Italian. When in the Bronx, it’s a must to patronize.

Zero Otto Nove is an Italian restaurant located in the Bronx's Little Italy neighborhood, offering a warm and inviting ambiance reminiscent of an old-world trattoria. The name "089" pays homage to chef-owner Roberto's hometown area code in Salerno, reflecting his Italian roots. The menu features authentic wood-fired pizzas made with fresh mozzarella from Casa della Mozzarella and San Marzano tomato sauce.
Zero Otto Nove, in the Bronx, was a pretty fantastic experience! The food was wonderful, the staff were friendly and knowledgeable and there was a real family feel to the place. Ever have potatoes on pizza? Make sure you come here to try it, it was amazing! From the bread before the meal to the left over chocolate sauce on the dessert plate, Zero Otto Nove is a great place to eat! Absolutely would recommend!

The restaurant has a spacious interior with brick walls and very high ceilings in one room, giving it a rustic, industrial charm. The design makes it feel like a converted factory, adding to its unique character. The portions were generous, and the flavors were rich. However, our dishes had more oil than we preferred—hopefully, it was olive oil rather than canola oil. Despite this, the dishes were still enjoyable. The service was friendly, though we had to wait about 20 minutes for a table.

A fun, casual and delicious lunch. The place was full for a Thursday afternoon and the waitstaff were fantastic! Attentive without being overbearing. The food was good. Not the best I have had, but tasty pasta and good and simple arugula salad. The broccoli rabe had all the great taste, but was more well-cooked than I prefer. Tiramisu was lovely. I'm a lifelong New Yorker, but it was my first time on Arthur Avenue, but definitely not my last. I would definitely come back to try out their pizza.

Took the family out for lunch here and we were really happy with the service and atmosphere inside the restaurant. We ordered the baked ziti and I was feeling brave and always wanted to try the pasta with squid ink sauce and so this place finally had it! I’m happy to say I tried it, but honestly I think I prefer the red. The calamari in the pasta was good though!

I went some people on trip for Ferragosto Italian festival. It was my time at Zero Otto Nove. The people I was with eat here every year. I liked the ambiance of the restaurant. The food was sort of a disappointment. I ordered the Cacio Pepe, a dish I've always wanted to try. Someone else at the table ordered it also. It was missing the black pepper that's supposed to be part of the dish, we had to ask for pepper to be put on the dish. Of the two wait staff we had only one had a smile on his face. For dessert I tried the Profiterole. Which had nice sweet taste, filled with a nice tasting custard. I don't know if I would return to this restaurant, if I did I would try it when there isn't a festival going on.

The Bronx Alehouse is a casual saloon in the Bronx that offers a variety of craft beers along with burgers, wings, and hearty sandwiches. Co-owned by Chris Giudice, it has quickly become a craft beer headquarters with 16 domestic-leaning taps, a rotating cask, and over 30 interchanging bottles. The bar hosts guest-brewer events and runs a Beer Club where members can enjoy discounted beers for life after sampling and rating 100 different quaffs.
I have been coming here for many years even before the pandemic and it never disappoints. The food and the service are great! If I could change one minor thing it would be the music. But I get it, it’s a bar so they play a little of everything. Their wings are delicious. My favorite are the mild buffalo, bone in. They also have a large selection of beers. If you’re not a big beer drinker I suggest the blueberry moonshine lemonade, so tasty.

This Bronx pub surprised us! Me and my friend were looking for something different from the usual fast-foods you can see in The Bronx and with a focused research we encountered this place. How could we know it was THIS good?? Starting from the atmosphere on the inside you feel like at home, on the road and in the subway. What's better? We ordered an appetizer: buffalo wings with two different sauces and some kind of potatoes you can find at ALDI too (but that's the only not good thing about it). We then ordered two hamburgers and they were not great... they were excellent! Never ever had something as good as that. A solid orgasm. Go there, thank me later.

Alehouse is a great spot! Their wings are really good, and the mac and cheese is definitely worth trying. They have a solid selection of beers and cocktails, and the service is always friendly and attentive. I also like that they have darts — it adds a fun touch to the atmosphere. Overall, a great place to hang out, grab some food, and enjoy a drink!

Went for the happy hour initially but I was really hungry so it wasn’t really worth it for me to do the small bites. I got the Thai chili and mango habanero wings. They were cooked well and I liked the flavors I had. The truffle parm fries were fresh and very well seasoned. I had the pink lemonade sour beer, the taste was great. They offered me a sample first to try. While the taste was great the beer was lukewarm so I recommend asking for a chilled glass. Wayyy better. They also have a beer club that’s free which I thought was cool, special deals on Wednesday for members. I put 4 stars for the atmosphere because it was really hot in there since there was no A/C.

Fine dining restaurant
Restaurant
Le Bernardin is an elite French restaurant in New York City, known for its refined seafood, expert service, and luxurious decor. The restaurant is led by celebrity chef Eric Ripert and restaurateur Maguy Le Coze. It offers a sublime blend of French and Spanish-influenced seafood menu served in an elegant and tranquil setting adorned with life-sized artwork. With three Michelin stars, it is considered one of the finest dining experiences in the city.
We made reservations for Thursday, October 9th, 2025 at 12pm and both chose the Lunch Three Course Prix Frixe. The server was exceptional at explaining the menu options and he was very attentive. The service overall exceedingly made our first time there one to remember. The food was beyond anything we've both experienced and definitely savored every moment of our meal. The dessert was outstandingly perfection. We did add on an additional dessert "The Egg" and we're glad we did. Service from beginning to end was stellar. We tried non-alcoholic beverages Lychee Nectar and Raspberry Nectar both were very refreshing and perfectly sweet. We enjoyed our first experience at Le Bernardin. Will definitely revisit in the near future.

We had such a lovely time at The Lounge at Le Bernardin. We couldn't get a table at the main restaurant as this was a last minute trip to New York unfortunately. The food at the lounge was still outstanding — the skate dish in particular was absolutely perfect, delicate and full of flavor, showcasing the precision and finesse the restaurant is known for. What truly stood out, though, was the kindness of the team. Even though our son’s birthday is still a month away, they went out of their way to celebrate him and make him feel special. That thoughtful gesture meant the world to us and turned a wonderful meal into a beautiful family memory. Thank you to everyone at Le Bernardin for such a warm and memorable experience — we’ll treasure it and can’t wait to return! We'll make sur to make a reservation ahead next time to try the main restaurant.

Le Bernardin is an exceptional French fine dining restaurant where Chef Eric Ripert’s refined seafood creations truly shine. Despite its Michelin-star prestige, the atmosphere feels relaxed and welcoming — even our young child felt completely at ease and enjoyed the experience. The service was impeccable from start to finish. The staff went above and beyond, pampering us with thoughtful attention and perfectly timed food and drink service. We chose the three-course prix fixe menu, and every dish was beautifully executed. The appetizer trio offered fresh, flavorful bites of seafood. The bread assortment was among the best we’ve ever had — warm, varied, and perfectly baked. For our main courses, the lobster in a rich, aromatic broth and the steamed Halibut with baby vegetables were both outstanding — truly the best halibut we’ve ever tasted. Desserts, including a decadent chocolate tart and an assortment of small bites, provided the perfect sweet ending to a memorable meal. Overall, Le Bernardin delivers an extraordinary dining experience — refined yet approachable, luxurious yet comfortable. We’ll definitely return every time we’re in New York.

Every single dish was amazing! Too many courses that I lost count. I wish it was proper to ask for a whole 8" plate of their tiny portions, but that would be weird and waaay out of our budget. Cocktails are perfect. Left full & satisfied. Service is as-expected for the type of establishment. Interior and decor are a bit dated and dark. It is well-maintained and clean which is what matters most. Overall, we would love to visit again.
Taysha L — Google review
Le Bernardin continues to justify its legendary status as one of New York City’s finest dining establishments. Our recent prix fixe lunch experience reaffirmed why this restaurant has maintained its position at the pinnacle of seafood cuisine for decades. From the moment we were seated the service struck the perfect balance between attentive and unobtrusive. Every member of the staff demonstrated genuine warmth and deep knowledge of the menu. Our sommelier deserves special recognition and his wine recommendations were impeccably matched to our dish selections, elevating each course and creating harmonious pairings throughout the meal. The culinary journey itself was extraordinary. The opening amuse-bouches set an elegant tone with refined, delicate flavors that showcased the kitchen’s precision. The caviar service was presented with theatrical flair, accompanied by perfectly executed blinis and traditional accompaniments. The raw fish course demonstrated the restaurant’s mastery of preservation techniques—silky, perfectly seasoned, and visually stunning. The main course was a masterclass in technique: impeccably cooked fish adorned with toasted almonds, vibrant vegetables, and a sauce that brought everything together without overwhelming the star ingredient. Each element on the plate had purpose and demonstrated the kitchen’s respect for premium ingredients. Le Bernardin’s continued excellence isn’t just about maintaining standards — it’s about evolution while honoring tradition. Chef Eric Ripert’s vision remains as relevant and inspiring today as ever. This is destination dining at its finest, and our lunch was worth every moment. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a world-class seafood experience in New York City.

Date of visit: 8/8/25 Went for our wedding anniversary. Ordered the Chef tasting, we didn't order the wine pairing as we don't drink. All dishes were great especially the Tuna. The best lemonade I've ever tasted. Service was impeccable. As regular New Yorkers, price is steep, maybe eat here once in a lifetime for a very special occasion. If you're traveling to NYC, this is worth a romantic visit. Book a month in advance as slots fill up quick.
Eljin A — Google review
It can be tough to get a reservation here, but it's definitely worth the effort! I recommend calculating how far out you can make it and being ready to try as soon as availability opens up online. It's also worth noting that you can do their full tasting menu during lunch hours (this is what we did) if you're having trouble getting dinnertime reservations. The food, as expected, is all absolutely fantastic. The tasting menu is a tour of seafood and had some truly standout dishes, including the dover solar almondine and the yellowfin tuna carpaccio. I also really enjoyed the dark chocolate tarte dessert. We did the wine pairing with our meal and the wine was a great variety of some unique vintages that paired perfectly with each course. Be warned that the pours are quite generous (this is not a bad thing by any means but come prepared!) and there is one for each of the eight courses so you will definitely be feeling it by the end.

The Most DISAPPOINTING 3-Star Restaurant in NYC My wife and I have always enjoyed Michelin-starred restaurants and rarely been disappointed — but Le Bernardin fell short, big time! I can’t believe this is a three-Michelin-star restaurant flooded with 5-star reviews. Do people not understand that Expensive ≠ Good!? We dined here on a Friday evening around 5:30 p.m. It was quite busy, but we were still warmly greeted. The atmosphere, however, was loud and cramped — tables are packed tightly, and servers constantly squeeze by with plates, drinks, utensils, and dirty dishes. It was uncomfortable to sit there with so much chaos around us; I felt like I was at Chelsea Market on a Saturday night. 2 out of 5 for atmosphere. The major disappointment was the food. Not a single dish met my expectations for a three-star restaurant. I’ve dined at many 1-, 2-, and 3-star establishments, as well as other top-rated spots, and the food at Le Bernardin tastes like Blue Apron meal kits at best. The dishes lack depth and creativity, with flat, uninspired flavors. You can easily tell the chef assumes that tossing fish, lobster, and caviar into a sauce and slapping on a high price tag will make customers think it’s fine dining. No — what a disappointment! At $500 per person (tax and tip included), this is a total money grab. Don’t come here. The one-star reviews are right — those people actually have taste!

Roberto's is an Italian restaurant located in the Bronx, run by Chef Roberto Paciullo, a Salerno native. The eatery offers a no-frills old-style setting and serves Salerno specialties. The menu features blackboard specials for a proper four-course feast, including dishes like grilled calamari with the consistency of steak, tinfoil-baked radiatore in vibrant red sauce or olive oil, and short ribs in a rich chili-pepper-and-beer sauce.
Very old school charm style that has some signature Italian dishes across categories. I really enjoyed the pastas here, and the pork chop is remarkable. Veal ossobuco is divine. Good wine selection as well. Wait times can be long between courses.

It must have been sold. It was absolutely horrendous from the eggplant and no zucchini starter with cold tomato sauce to the gelatinous mess they called sauce on a pork chop that was billed as double cut that was butterflied open with a spicy sauce of fried tough artichokes and over fried potatoes. The special pear ravioli had no pears five anemic discs of flat pasta with tasteless filling. Only the one glass of Pinot noir was good. Liebman’s Deli, a kosher Jewish deli established in 1953, is renowned for its traditional soups, sandwiches, salads, and meats. It's considered one of the top spots in The Bronx to savor authentic kosher delicacies. Upon entering the deli, you're greeted by the delightful aroma of pastrami, pickles, and corned beef sandwiches generously filled with sliced meat.
We always order their Pastrami Reuben sandwich, which comes with coleslaw. Everything was fresh whenever we stopped by. Around lunchtime, it gets crowded, but the quality of food and service outweighs the wait time. The portions are big, and we always split the dish between the two of us.

A gem found in the Bronx! I believe the pastrami (got the overstuffed on a Kaiser) is in my top three of the NYC boroughs! The matzah ball soup with noodles and bits of fresh chicken is to die for! Flavorful and lasting taste soup. The pastrami taste and texture is what I call A1 triple stars. Exactly how I've always liked my pastrami! The knish was okay it was good on the inside but tough on the outside. I also wished it was warmer and perhaps, fresher. Almost forgot, coleslaw and pickles were awesome too! This was on a Sunday and it got a bit crowded but not too bad about 12:15pm. Before then it was quite quiet and chill. Service is OUTSTANDING!

Great stuffed cabbage. It’s expensive ($25-29 for a sandwich) but one sandwich can easily feed 2 people. Besides, having an authentic old school deli meal is priceless.

Nestled within the hilly terrain of the Riverdale neighborhood in the Bronx this restaurant offers delicious kosher offerings. The pastrami was as good as any I tasted, the matzo ball soup had noodles (which was the 1st time I experienced), and the chocolate egg cream made for a complete, delicious lunch. Another thing that is great about this deli was that there is a parking lot around the corner on Johnson Avenue. It maybe out of the way from most parts of the city but if one has a vehicle it's relatively easy to get here.

Last kosher deli in the Bronx. Lasted so long due to its curing process of pastrami and corned beef.. so goooD!!!

The pastrami and corned beef were phenomenal as always. Fast friendly service too.

Ordered 1 roast beef sandwich. Cost was almost $30. I will say it was amongst the best roast beef I’ve ever tried in a sandwich. But it was definitely way overpriced. Two regular size slices of bread filled with generous sized amount of roast beef. The taste of the beef was very very good I will say. What got me was the price. I don’t think it was $30 worth of flavor.

Old school and authentic Jewish deli. The waiters here are all in their 60s. The pastrami was a bit fatty. The matzo ball soup was perfectly good. The pickles are good. They were out of chicken liver. 😤. The can of coke was overpriced. The cabbage roll was very sweet and was not made with rice

Italian restaurant
Arthur Avenue Fiasco is a charming Italian restaurant located in the heart of the Bronx's Little Italy. This cozy eatery offers classic Italian dishes such as pasta, pizza, and chicken francese. The menu features house-made rigatoni sautéed with broccoli rabe and sausage, as well as mouthwatering egg-battered chicken in lemon sauce.
Fiasco is absolutely the best Italian restaurant in the New York area. Look no further if you are looking for authentic well prepared Italian food. The food is expertly prepared and delicious. Service is impeccable. Our waiter helped us select a delicious and reasonably price wine. The only thing I can say about Arthur Avenue Fiasco is thank you and delightful and delicious meal.

Stopped by for a light lunch today with our very little granddaughter. Totally perfect. Linguini with clams, penne vodka and a small order of penne with butter and cheese for our granddaughter. I’d certainly go back.

Had a great lunch here in the middle of the week. I had their fresh mozzarella & prosciutto, meatballs in ricotta with smoked mozzarella, and bread-- all delicious. My friend said the gnocchi was also delicious. The service was good, and the restaurant is pleasant. Recommend.

Really cute restaurant with nice outdoor seating in the middle of little Italy. Next store to an authentic butcher shop. Meals were reasonably priced at under $30. The sangria was great - not too sweet. I had the gluten free penne vodka and it was delicious! All of their pasta dishes can be made gluten free minus those with meatballs. Would definitely recommend.

A cullinan in the rough. Hands-down one of the best Italian restaurants in the Bronx. Excellent service, accessible waitstaff with fresh farm-to-fork ingredients. You must drop by and try their linguine w/ clams and lasagna. The ambiance is warm and cozy ... far from pretentious. A romantic spot with a very affordable wine list.

Nice restaurant, great service. We ordered fried calamari, arancini, capresa salad and linguini Nero. The fried calamari were outstanding, perfectly cooked, very fresh. The arancini also were good. The linguini were okay, nothing spectacular. I will return to try another plates.

Overall, food was fine, place is cozy, service is good. Wouldn't recommend, but wouldn't mind returning in a pinch. 3 stars because the restaurant meets expectations, but did not excel at anything in particular. The Chicken Francese was notably good though not memorable. The service was attentive though not more than expected. If someone said we'll eat here again, I would certainly not say no. But I would try to explore somewhere else first. Pros: Serves food until 11 where most places shut at 10, so for later food on Arthur, this would be my recommendation. Cons: 4 TVs right there upon you while dining. Sports are great, but not while enjoying a family meal.

Let's start saying that I am an italian from the south and I know my food. I have been living in Nyc for several years and this is the only italian restaurant that transports me home. I tried almost everything in the menu (specials included) and everytime I find all the food OUTSTANDING. The quality of the ingredients is superb and the preparation of the dishes is better than so many downtown restaurants. You want a spectacular meal, this is the place. The staff is polite, attentive and doesn't rash you out! In the pics arancine, eggplant parm, octopus, and chocolate cake.

Nestled on Johnson Avenue, Moss Café is a charming coffee shop that beautifully blends industrial chic with a warm, inviting atmosphere. This pescatarian-kosher eatery prides itself on farm-to-table principles, offering an array of delightful brunch options and allergy-friendly dishes. Start your day with their signature caramelized apple challah French toast or indulge in a refreshing fruit parfait made from housemade yogurt and granola.
Delicious amazing vibes cafe. Went there on a Wednesday morning, was packed! The food is generally great and they have a super unique and healthy main menu. Also very yummy pastries. The honey butter biscuit muffin is unbelievable. They hacked the muffin game with this, the way they cook it hard crunch and sweet outside with a soft inside, I couldn’t believe what I was seeing and tasting! I also got the shakshuka, pretty standard and tasty. For the ambiance, they charge. But it’s worth it. 8.9/10

Fantastic food and great vibes. Food was great we had the shakshuka and the moss egg sandwich (out of this 🌎). The coffees were great especially the pistachio latte. And last but not least after a lot of back and forth we picked from the bakery items a delicious curry/scallion cheese croissant and a. Nice buttery pistachio chocolate chip cookie. Can’t wait to return.

Im so happy to write this review. Moss is a delight to go to. Everything is fresh, healthy portions and so delicious. Smooth no bitterness to their coffee, an impressive tea selection and cool beverages. It’s a kosher farm to table eatery filled with an array of food choices to satisfy your palate. I love the kale salad. Some may say it’s slightly overprice, but I see it as I pay the price and receive back so much more. Im happy they are here in Riverdale.

Best casual kosher cafe in NYC (and maybe anywhere). Super fast/convenient to drive from Manhattan with its own parking lot. Dishes are impeccable, fresh and wholesome and service is included. The staff is exceptionally nice (shout out to Marin especially) and manages the crowds impressively.

I have never felt the urge or need to give this place a try, primarily because I did not feel like the invitation extended to me, however I decided to give them a try and let me tell you, the place was nicely laid out, though small. It was neat and clean as well. The latte was superb! The pastries and scones were out of this world delicious and the service was prompt and excellent! I have now been there multiple times and my experience is consistent on all counts. Fresher than StarBucks for sure. If you have not yet given them a try, please do— you will lick your fingers and smack your tongue.

Nestled in the heart of Riverdale, Moss Cafe is not only a haven for coffee and tea enthusiasts but also a culinary gem with a small yet scrumptious menu that showcases the perfect fusion of flavor and elegance. Moss Cafe's commitment to a concise and thoughtfully curated menu is a testament to their dedication to quality over quantity. The small selection of dishes is designed to offer a diverse range of flavors, each crafted with precision and an emphasis on fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Also, their delicious menu of fresh teas blew my mind. I will be coming back soon!

Had only come here to pick up quick coffee/pastries and finally came for lunch (apple scone was one of the best scones I've had in my life). Service is friendly and professional for sure, but not fast. It took 30 minutes from my ordering for me to get my lunch (veggie burger) while my friend's lunch came out in about 15 minutes. That being said, the food was amazing. Her Greek salmon salad was fresh and bountiful. She also had the special homemade ricotta toast with fruit compote which was also delicious! My veggie burger was really, really good, though I wish there was no cilantro in the aioli. I also got the peach muffin which was just okay (also found out after ordering that it was vegan and gluten free), there was barely enough peach to qualify as a peach muffin as it was only sprinkled on the top. I also got a chocolate croissant and a peach almond scone to go for the family. Croissant was decadent and rich. The scone was good, but again, please don't call something "peach" if you are just going to put a few pieces of peach on the top. I'll definitely be back. Coffee is also really delicious, I've had the flat white and the cappuccino.

Irish pub
An Beal Bocht Cafe, named after the satire by Flann O'Brien, is a beloved Riverdale institution that serves as a hybrid of an Irish bar, restaurant, gallery, and performance space. It has been catering to the local community for over three decades and is popular among college students from nearby Manhattan College. The congenial pub features old-timey Irish decor and hosts regular performances including music, comedy, theater, and poetry readings.
Snug, cozy little Irish bar close to Gaelic Park. About 8 or 9 outdoor tables for at least 4 ppl, including a couple of 6 person picnic tables. Was there on a nice weather late September Saturday afternoon. Sat outside with the bride & another couple. Very nice Guinness pints. Service was good. Both couples each split a burger & curry chicken. Both dishes very good. Wish my local was this good.
Ray M — Google review
An Beal Bocht Cafe is a nice hidden gem restaurant! This restaurant gave really homey and cozy vibes. They have traditional Irish brunches like fish and chips, English beans, grilled cheese sandwiches, and sunny side up eggs. But what takes the cake and beats everything are their fries, their home fries are so good! The service here is also very good, the waiters are friendly and informative. The food also comes out pretty quick and they even have live music on the weekends. This place is very festive, and can also get pretty busy and crowded. It’s very old school, traditional, and cozy here! The prices are also decent, you can get meals from around $10-$20! So if you’re in the area, stop by here! The only criticism I have here is that they should just have the name of their restaurant more visibly written, so people can know the name of the place. Price:$10-20💸 Rating: 8.5/10 📝

Honestly had a great time in this bar. I got some wings and fries, and they were good. My experience was great until someone nearby was complaining about the cheesecake. But realistically, who orders cheesecake at a bar?
Chris M — Google review
Awesome spot. Super cozy. Irish breakfast is a must. Lots of meats, to the point they offer ‘half meats’ for about $4 less. Even their “vegetarian” Irish Breakfast is 🤤. One of those businesses that charge you for using your card, so try bringing exact change. Not sure why they don’t give back coins, but just bring the exact change so you don’t have to pay an extra card surcharge or have to wonder why anyone would think it’s ok just to not give you your correct change. One of the best restaurants I’ve eaten from in Riverdale.

What a wonderful restaurant and bar/pub. It's filled floor to ceiling with ambiance. You get very personal service from the amazing staff (sometimes in that uniquely Irish way). The food is better than the traditional basic pub fair. They have a great dinner menu with Shepard's Pie and the lot. Today I had the Chicken sandwich with a side of fries. It was very fresh, and the bread cracked slightly as I bit into it. This is a must for a toasted bread. If you're in the neighborhood, please, please stop by and enjoy An Beal Bocht. They have both indoor and heated outside seating!

Took a trip up to Riverdale for lunch. Met a friend up there who recommended Au Beal Bocht cafe. An absolutely adorable little place. A short walk from the subway.(Up a very steep staircase) Very charming place. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Had to wait a bit for a table. There was a large party in back that I believe took up a lot of the seating this place has. Food was great. We had the traditional Irish breakfast and the omelette special they had. Delicious! Brunch came with a free drink. We got the mimosa. It came in a medium size ball jar! It was yummy and left me with a nice buzz. I totally recommend this place. If you're up in Riverdale or wanting to visit definitely stop here for your meal.

Nestled in the vibrant Mott Haven neighborhood of the Bronx, Ceetay is a charming eatery that has been delighting locals since its opening in May 2012. With its walls adorned with faded newspapers, this cozy spot embodies a sense of community where young professionals, artists, and families come together to enjoy creative sushi and traditional Japanese dishes. The inviting atmosphere encourages diners to mingle over cocktails while watching skilled chefs prepare meals in an open kitchen.
I had fried noodle ith chicken and fried tofu agedasi both where real good. The fried noodle lunch special has that woki flavor from the wok and flames the spring roll was good crispy. Agedasihi Tofu was crispy very nice to eat with soy sauce slightly sweet very good. Staff excellent! service i would come back.

My friend from work has been coming here for a while & has been trying to get me to join her for a few years. I always told her no because I'm not s sushi eater. Well, I'm glad that I decided to go yesterday during my break between work. There were 6 of us and when we arrived the table was ready and waiting for us. The place is quant. Staff is very pleasant, accommodating and friendly. While inside you don't feel like you're in a business in the south Bronx. My colleagues ordered several different types of sushi rolls. You can get a lunch special with a choice of a starter (several choices of soup or salad) & either a roll or fried rice or noodles. We ordered rock shrimp tempura for the table at $5 we also ordered edamame & tuna bruschetta. I ordered chicken fried rice with a cabbage salad as my starter. The salad was a pretty good amount I was able to share with two who wanted to taste. It was crunchy, tasty and satisfying. I tried the edamame and that was good as well. Salty on the outside, tender on the inside. The rock shrimp appetizer was sooo good. It was spicy, but with noisy the right amount of spice. My fried rice was a good portion. The vegetables were still crunchy and it had a really fresh flavor. We ordered dessert. The hazelnut gelato & the mini chocolate ganache over cheesecake. Both were very good. The cheesecake dessert was very rich and the ganache is very thick. The hazelnut gelato was light and fluffy and really good. It comes served with dark chocolate syrup and whipped cream. Overall I really enjoyed myself. My friend was really happy that I liked the place. I even plan on ordering lunch for delivery in the near future. Good quality food with great service, decent prices in a clean environment!

Located right outside manhattan and in the South of Bronx. A fast developing neighborhood and beautiful art murals everywhere. Reminds me of Williamsburg to be honest. Ceetay is also on a block where they constantly shut down their street to host circus events, dances, and other entertainments. It is such a hot location. Those who live in the area do not need to travel over an hour to dt manhattan just for sushi. Ceetays newly renovated restaurant offers fast fresh and delicious sushi! Kani salad was so refreshing and is definitely a must get! Along with the agedashi tofu. That was my favorite appetizer. Super crispy and the sauce was so good. Rock shrimp is no doubt a must! If you never had it before, you have to get it, the tiny little crispy things are soo fun and delicious. The kawasaki roll was also super delicious. The crab meat with crispy avocado was so good, I never had a roll like that anywhere else. The bronx boogie roll was also my favorite, especially if you like a little heat with your rolls. If you aren't a fan of raw fish or seaweed, the grilled salmon soy wrap is your go to roll. It is wrapped in a soy wrap instead of seaweed! How innovative is that?!! We absolutely loved Ceetay and cannot wait to go back. So glad to see the Bronx developing and bringing in new cuisines and culture.
Gloria L — Google review
We didn't really know what to expect from this small restaurant we always drive by en route to the city. But Ceetay surprised us with its coziness and delicious food. There were three couples quietly dining with many other people picking up takeout orders. The menu offers a range of sushi as well as other Japanese and Thai dishes, along with beer, wine and a robust selection of sake. Whether you're in the mood for a large sushi order to share or a sampling of appetizers, you will enjoy Ceetay's flavors.

Delicious vegan pad Thai! Despite being a sushi place, Ceetay offers a good amount of delicious plant based options. The portions are also pretty generous

The staff was pleasant, fun and attentive; they all worked as a team from the cashier to the chef. My food came out fast. I like how they allowed me to be seated outside to enjoy beautiful weather. Has a cozy, natural feel and is clean. A great stop to make when in the Bronx.

This is an absolute gem in the South Bronx. As a native NYer I’m usually not a fan of gentrification but I’m glad this spot is in the neighborhood lol. The sushi is amazingly fresh, the portions are large & they are generous with sauces. You will be swimming in spicy mayo and gluten free soy sauce. I found this place on a whim because I wanted an avocado salad and I left with Sushi, shrimp tempura, chicken tempura, a HUGE avocado salad with salmon bites and all the fixings. I dug in before I could take pics lmao. The portions were so big I had to put the chopsticks down and pack the rest away. I am happy as a clam. 🥰
P W — Google review
This place is not extremely good or horrible, it is bare minimum. Nice staff with clean and fresh quality food made on the spot which is nice. The downside is there's no indoor seating and takes a long time to prepare and kind of pricy. I would recommend stopping by if you're in the area, but by no means go out of your way. Perfect for lunch, break or grabbing a quick bite alone because lack of comfortable seating.

The Bronx Beer Hall is a bustling beer hall located within the Arthur Avenue Retail Market in the historic Little Italy of the Bronx. It was opened in 2013 by brothers Anthony and Paul Ramirez, injecting youthful energy into the traditional market. The bar features a modern design with salvaged-wood counters and white-tile walls, offering a variety of draft brews including cider, half-pints, and canned craft beers.

This is a really cute spot, open and airy in the middle of a market. However, the wine that I ordered did not taste like wine. It tasted both watered down and higher in alcohol (how both of those can be true, not sure). It tasted so bad that I didn’t finish it. Maybe that’s my mistake for ordering wine at a beer hall… the staff and other patrons were really friendly and it’s a good place to stop in, but something is not right with their wine.

Joe's Italian Deli, located just three blocks east on East 187th, is a bustling old-school deli known for its Italian meats, oils, pastas, and housemade mozzarella. While there are several shops making fresh mozzarella daily in the area, Joe's stands out for adding the perfect amount of salt to their mozzarella. The ceiling is adorned with an assortment of house-made and imported cheeses as well as various types of prosciutto and other meats.
Sadly, it took me this long to try Joe's. An amazing sandwich (I just wish I would have seen the daily specials board before I placed my order). Will definitely be back, even if Kurt is working that day! 😉

All the quality ingredients make you want to try you hand at making some Italian food at home with the good stuff. Its a must to visit this place.

I’ve vacationed in Rome before and I can’t honestly say, this shop is the real deal. I got the Bella Donna and it was perfect, it literally couldn’t have been more perfect. The worker came and gave me a fresh piece of mozzarella while I was sitting enjoying my sandwich and it was some of the best I’ve had! 12/10 recommend! It was so good I even made a tiktok about it so everyone knows about this amazing spot!

I got the big Tony for a friend and the uncle Frank for me. Super good mozzarella and the sandwiches are very very good, mine had prosciutto, mozzarella, and roasted red peppers, I highly recommend it. Got a wedge of pecorino too. But it's hard to overstate how beautiful this store is, with the careful arrangement of all the salumeri and grocery items, and all the carefully painted signage. It's a real treat. I shared with an Italian American (2nd Gen) friend of mine some of these pictures and she said "I want my house to look like this". Me too!

The eggplant, chicken cutlet and Parma are among the best I’ve ever had (and I’m obsessed with high quality Italian sandwiches). This is the real deal and I would stop your search to find a more delicious Italian deli in the Bronx. Also the service is unbelievable- they made an exception for me and let me pick up my sandwiches after the store closed. This place is a gem.

The atmosphere here was very uncomfortable. The owner was yelling at his employees with such anger that it made the whole experience unpleasant for my family. He even shouted at customers for taking too long to order, which felt completely uncalled for. To make matters worse, my chicken was served cold. The bread, sauce, and cheese were fresh, but the behavior of the owner overshadowed everything. Without the angry older man, this place could actually be enjoyable.

Mottley Kitchen is a unique cafe in the Bronx that exclusively serves breakfast and lunch. It also functions as a small bookstore, allowing patrons to browse while enjoying their morning coffee. Recently, it has opened a rooftop deck for guests to savor their meals in the sunshine. This holistic community cafe offers an organic and vegan-friendly menu, along with a beautiful rooftop garden and cold brew. Additionally, it provides retail space for local brands to sell their products.
A great place for a delicious brunch in the Bronx. Many people worked there, too, and it was a very diverse and interesting environment. I would definitely come back to this place again. The food is delicious and the service is good. However, there were two mix-ups regarding orders both times I went. Sometimes people forgot the order that came after. I suggest kitchen staff throw away the order only after the full order is placed, or deliver the full order instead of splitting it, to avoid confusion and the second order not being delivered. This is just a small detail given the sophistication of this excellent restaurant.

The food is… edible. But they don’t offer regular bacon… not sure if that’s a religious restriction or something. The rooftop is wonderful. However the service is very strange. First two times that we visited, it was fine. The third visit.. We ordered two meals and two coffees and one of the coffees never showed up even after repeatedly inquiring about it. As in asked specifically 3 times over the course of an hour, and was told that they would check. Then they would come back and bring other people their food but not my coffee. We finished the meal and left, received a refund for the coffee because at that point it was just strange and I didn’t want it. I don’t think I’ll be back any time soon but would try it again if the staff is different in the future….

I went to Mottley Kitchen this morning with my girl. There wasn’t a long line when we arrived, but it did get busy as we waited for our food and coffee. I ordered the Chicken Avocado Sandwich, a side of potato wedges, and a flat white. My girl got the French toast and a hazelnut iced latte. First of all, presentation was amazing — everything looked upscale and thoughtfully plated. The quality of the food was top-tier. You can see the freshness in the strawberries and blueberries. I’ve been working in produce for 9 years, and I know how hard it is to find good berry quality this time of year, so I could tell they took their time choosing the right ones. I expected the potato wedges to be your usual frozen kind, but they were clearly made fresh — garnished with arugula and sautéed onions. The only thing I initially thought was missing was salt… but honestly, that turned out to be the best decision on their part. I could season it to my liking instead of it being overly salty. Smart move. Now, the Chicken Avocado Sandwich? I won’t spoil it for you — that’s something you need to try yourself. Just know I’ll definitely be a regular here. The coffee was amazing too, and the whole experience was warm, friendly, and worth every penny. Thank you, Mottley Kitchen, for your service and attention to detail!

Visiting NY and as a first time customer I was throughly pleased from the moment I walked in to Motley Kitchen which had a very warm and inviting atmosphere. Good selection of all the standard coffee offerings and pastries. Prompt & very friendly (not over the top🙏) counter service and food delivery to my table. Order a Mocha and Corn Blueberry muffin… both delicious.

188 Bakery Cuchifritos is a cozy counter-serve eatery known for its Puerto Rican and Dominican dishes as well as tropical juices. Featured on Anthony Bourdain's Parts Unknown, this neighborhood gem offers garlicky mashed plantains with fried salami, cheese, or eggs, authentic flan, and various cuchifritos. Despite its modest setting in Fordham Heights since 1982, the food here is highly praised for its deliciousness.
The food was so good, the chicken was a bit dry but it was still very delicious, the service was great & very kind. Prices are very affordable & the coconut drink is refreshing I recommend coming here for a quick lunch

I was looking forward to my stuff potatoes, ana stuff alcarpuria... the potato & the alcarpuria barely had meat in it, it was tasteless, and very pale, no salon, no flavor. The blood sausage was almost perfect, but again had no flavor, no hot sauce (pique). Sadly I don't recommend even after spending $45. In this place. Purchased a whole chicken, that was actually good.
W.L. O — Google review
Worst alcapuria I ever had n it was made with cornmeal. 🤢 The rice, beans and meats are all cooked with Dominican seasoning, by a Dominican cook. So they should call it a Dominican Restaurant and not a good one at that. This food is not Puerto Rican at all. I can't post without a star so they get 1 even though they deserve 0.

The cuchifritos were on point. Service was quick and the variety was expansive. Don't sleep onnthis spot, you'll regret it.

Haven't been here in years, and they still taste the same! Good service, good food and refreshing drinks. I had the avena and it was delicious. Pernil on point. Chicharones Dominicano was the bomb, You have to try them, it's like butter.chicken chunks are always tasty. Parking still stinks!

Never again. I wanted to try it out but. biggg mistake. I ordered Moro de habichuela with BBQribs and it was what I believe is white rice with mixed in beans. It's definitely not arroz cob habichuelas junto. You could see the sauce from the beans on the plate and its mushy. I bought potatoe salad and threw it out cuz it was sour spoiled.

Çka Ka Qëllu offers a traditional Albanian dining experience in a charming and rustic setting with old-world accents. Located near Arthur Avenue in the Bronx, the restaurant exudes an ambiance reminiscent of an old village tavern in Albania or Kosovo. The menu features a variety of authentic dishes such as juicy grilled meats, cheese-stuffed pickled peppers, ultra-creamy kajmak cheese, and veal-stuffed dumplings.
We stumbled across this spot by accident but I'm so glad we did! Everything was delicious, especially the mantia, which I highly recommend! The portion sizes are great and we were full by the end. The staff was very friendly and we were served fairly quickly. It's a really cozy spot and tends to get busy, especially in the evening on weekend so reservations might be a good idea. I plan to revisit the next time I'm in the area!

We happened to be in the Arthur Ave area and stopped in here for some wine & appetizers because we saw it listed on the NYT 100 Best Restaurants list. It was warm & cozy inside and somewhat quiet (we were there early on a Sunday evening). They sat us immediately, so not sure if you need a reservation at other times… The servers were very friendly and attentive and we enjoyed the food. Their bread is served warm and is very filling - so come hungry. Looking forward to returning soon for a full meal.

Went here after work with a few coworkers and ordered a little bit of everything and it did not disappoint. We sat near the front at a beautiful round wooden table. They had cool leather-bound menus and a rustic vibe. The mixed meat platter was flavorful and perfectly seasoned. The grilled octopus? Absolute perfection. The mantia was the STAR of the night for me, along with the olives! so fragrant with orange peel and herbs that I could have eaten them by the bowl. We also tried the Albanian beer that was smooth, crisp, and refreshing. The service was very attentive and provided some great recommendations. Would definitely come back.

This place was absolutely incredible. We will definitely be coming back here. They also have two other locations (which we haven’t been to, but will definitely go to). First off, stepping into this restaurant was like stepping into an old world restaurant. There’s a really rustic, charming vibe that is absolutely transportive. We went for dinner in the middle of the week, so we were the old table while we were there, but the staff was so lovely and attentive. They definitely have a lot of pride for the restaurant and food and I get why. Now on to the food. Wow. The food was amazing and the price was so wildly reasonable. We started with the sausage dip, the pickled pepper, and the sesame baked cheese. The pickled pepper had the perfect bite to it and was a little spicy (think how a banana pepper is spicy) with great flavors for the veggies inside the pepper. The sausage dip was both familiar and interesting and so perfectly delicious. It came with these warm bread roll things that were steaming when we tore them open. The cheese was also nice, especially paired with the bread. We also had the Fli which is kind of like a baked layer pastry dish served with a feta cheese and was so good. Then we had the fasule with suxhuk. It’s essentially a white bean stew/soup with a type of sausage in it. This was so hearty and comforting. I could eat a bowl of it in front of the fire on a winter day. It was simple with a depth of flavor that was on point. We also had the grilled octopus, which was cooked well and very delicious. Overall, the meal was an absolute delight and we truly had a great time. Everything from the ambiance to the service to the food to the price point made this place an absolute must visit.

My friend and I decided to check out Çka Ka Qëllu on a Saturday after doing a NYBG trip. We made a reservation for 1:30, and I would recommend making a reservation if you are going at a popular time. The interior of the restaurant is unique, almost like you're in a stone cottage. The decor consists of Albanian artifacts, which is always a cool touch to the dining experience. Our server was extremely helpful guiding us through the menu, as neither of us had a ton of experience with the cuisine. We got the smaller order of the mantia ($11), which were veal dumplings. The dumplings were good, I just wanted a touch more flavor on the meat and a thicker consistency of the yogurt sauce. My friend got the tava kosi ($24), which is a lamb dish. This dish is flavored well, but it is on the saltier side! I got the gulash ($23), which I had a similar critique to the tava kosi. Once I ate the meat and potatoes, the rest of the gulash felt like I was eating flavored oil rather than a soup or stew, so I didn't wipe the bowl clean. The homemade bread helped to balance out the saltiness and sop up some of the liquid. Overall, I thought everything was very tasty, and I would return to try other dishes. Service was exceptional. From the moment we walked in, we were treated with the highest level of hospitality. Because we went on a hot day, we drank a lot of water. There was never a point where our glasses went empty! There were also multiple checkbacks. I would highly recommend checking out Çka Ka Qëllu if you're in the area at the garden or the zoo!

The food was spectacular! Loved the presentation as well as the delicious layers of flavors and textures. The staff very knowledgeable and patient. We were there late beyond closing. There was no hint of rushing us out. Very comfortable setting. Not expensive at all.

My husband and I came here for our anniversary dinner, and this place was absolutely beautiful and we had an amazing experience! We’ve never tried Albanian cuisine, so once we tried it here - we were sooo impressed! The food was SO flavorful and juicy and perfect!! The staff was SO hospitable & sweet (something Albanian culture really takes pride in their hospitality)! We would definitely come here again with family! Thank you for a great experience!!!

My boyfriend and I visited this cafe at 6 pm. It was quite crowded. I ordered green olives, they were with orange zest, it was incredible! We also ordered a main course, my boyfriend noticed that I am allergic to spicy food and for me they added less spices to the meat, it was great!! Beer, water, all Albanian production, it was a joy. For dessert, the waiter recommended a certain dish to me. When they brought my dessert, I refused to eat it because I saw a fingerprint on the plate (it was black), they replaced my dessert WITHOUT PROBLEMS. Thank you

Tobala is not just a restaurant, it's an immersive experience into Mexican culture and traditions. The ambiance and service are exceptional, making you feel right at home without any rush. The spicy margaritas with Tajin spice and rich guacamole are highly recommended. The mushroom and eggplant dish is delectable, but watch out for the spicy sauce! The staff is friendly and knowledgeable about Oaxacan cuisine, educating guests on ingredients and daily specials.
Had a lovely time at Tobala. Outstanding service and lovely decor. The best dishes were Michelin worthy. Some didn’t quite hit the mark as much. But overall, a depth of flavor and loving attention to detail make this place worth a visit, despite the high prices.

Delicious all around. I sat at the bar during happy hour—which, to my surprise, ran a little longer than expected, giving me extra time to enjoy the vibe and the drinks. The espresso martini was truly to die for—not like any other I’ve ever had. Rich, smooth, and perfectly balanced. Every cocktail we tried had its own personality, distinct and full of layered flavor. I started with the Tacos de Cochinita, which were tender, flavorful, and packed with slow-roasted goodness. The guacamole was fresh and creamy with just the right amount of lime and heat, served with warm, crisp chips. You could tell everything was made with care. The service was a standout—attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely enthusiastic about the menu. They offered helpful recommendations and checked in without being overbearing. The setting itself felt upscale yet welcoming, with modern Mexican flair. It’s the kind of place where you can dress up a little, enjoy quality food and drinks, and still feel completely relaxed. Whether you’re there for a casual happy hour or a full dinner, this place delivers an elevated experience across the board.

Tobalá was absolutely fantastic - from start to finish! Reservations are not required, but I could see why it is suggested - it could easily get packed. Wonderful service (Cindy was knowledgeable and courteous) and superb food (easily one of the top 5 meals I've ever eaten at a restaurant - thank you chef Moises!)... I could see why they're poised to get that Michelin star (good luck!) Perfect date night spot, great NYC location (Riverdale). Hope to come back sooner than later.

Tobalá is a gem of a restaurant that beautifully blends creativity, flavor, and atmosphere. The moment you walk in, you’re greeted by a warm, intimate setting with thoughtful decor and a welcoming staff. The menu is inspired and ever-changing, showcasing seasonal ingredients with a strong nod to Mexican roots, particularly Oaxacan cuisine. We started with the mezcal cocktails, which were expertly crafted — smoky, balanced, and unique. For starters, the heirloom corn tamales were a standout, with perfectly soft masa and rich fillings. The main dishes were equally impressive; the mole was deep, complex, and memorable, and the grilled meats were cooked to perfection. Service was attentive without being intrusive, and the staff was happy to explain the dishes and suggest pairings. Prices are on the higher side, but well worth it for the quality and experience. Overall, Tobalá is a must-visit for anyone looking for a special dining experience that celebrates bold flavors and culinary artistry. Thanks again for a great experience.

The food was good, but the service definitely needs improvement. No one came to our table for about 15 minutes after we were seated. I think the manager noticed and came over—she was very sweet and ended up taking our order. We also had to ask for water multiple times. Overall, it felt a bit overpriced for the level of service we received.

Chocobar Cortés is a unique Caribbean-inspired cafe located in The Bronx, New York. It is an outpost of the well-established Puerto Rico-based chocolate company, Chocolate Cortes. This family-owned business has been producing high-quality bean-to-bar chocolate since 1929. In 2013, they expanded their operations to include Chocobar Cortes in Old San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Now, I thought since chocolate was infused with some of the food, it wasn't going to taste good, but shut my mouth and open it back up. The food was great. I had the grilled House Shrimp with rice and beans and salad, and the dressing was great. We all enjoyed our food and tend to go back again. The drinks were great also, and our host was the best. If your looking for good food, drinks, and a good time, CHOCOBAR CORTEZ IS IT.

We ordered latte, taste was so bad by itself. Can’t even describe. Floor is dirty, on chandler Is dusty. There was not a lot people inside and the food was so mush earlier than drinks. Food was with chocolate, so be careful when you ordering. For example in sandwich they put chocolate inside with chicken. Ketchup was with chocolate. 18% tip was already included. For this type of place it was so pricey.
Angelina E — Google review
Visited the Chocobar out of pure curiosity. A lovely hip little spot, with an inviting and friendly atmosphere, complete with an amazing staff line up. The drinks were incredible; perfectly crafted with hints of their signature chocolate name sake. The foods were delicious and expertly presented. The only flaw I found was with the Avocado Toast. Boasting cured bacon with eggs on a slice of brioche bread, it was overly salty. So much so that I it was uneatable. However, that was the only minor blip on a perfect dinning experience. Also can’t forget the live Latin music, played at a level that is pleasing to the ears and pulled the overall experience together. To ensure you secure your dinning experience, make sure you reserve your table ahead of time. While they do take walk ins, it’s a small space that fills up quickly.

My family and I visited Chocobar Cortes today! It was our first time there. Originally, we were looking for a smoothie or shake place. Then, we ended up ordering food here. While the food was good, the customer service could’ve been better. Only two out of the four employees were pleasant. My family and I will be back. Hopefully, the politeness increases by then.

Here are my 2 cents about my visit to chocobar cortes. My girlfriends and I made reservations for Sunday brunch. The place is cute and the service was great. The staff worked together to make sure food came out together, quick and hot. However, I must say, the chocomartini was weak, not much liquor, it tasted like a frozen frappé. I think some of the food items are overpriced. We ordered the picadera, and for $27, we got 2 empanadas, 2 tostones with carne asada, 1 small suruyo, and 1 small alcapurria. We also ordered chicken and waffles $25, but we didn't get chicken, we got "nuggets" for that price I was expecting at least one real piece of chicken or one chicken tender, not McDonald's nuggets (not tasty at all). Overall, the atmosphere is nice, the service is great, and the food was good, but please consider serving real fried chicken with your waffles.

Awesome place! The arroz con gandules and empanadas de camarones tasted like my mom's food. Yummy!! We had tacos de mofongo with shrimp, pancakes, French toasts (breakfast all day!), hot chocolate (delicious!), and chocolate latte, and we ended up ordering food to go. To top it off, Javy (the waiter), was awesome. We highly recommend it.

if you love chocolate, this is a great place to go! i had the chocolada and it was soooo yummy! if i were to go back, i wouldn’t order the french toast again. also, the chicken tender size did not meet my expectation for the price but as for the environment it’s a nice brunch spot, the music/vibes are amazing and the staff that work there are so kind and helpful!

Great atmosphere and great vibe. From the moment you walk in the restaurant, to the moment you enter the restroom, the decor was absolutely fun and funky. We didn't have a reservation; however, the owner/manager (?) was friendly and kind enough to give us a table. Thankfully, it wasn't crowded when we went for an early lunch. The food was tasty. From the chicken sandwich to the French toast and waffles, everything was mouth-watering. I ordered the chili hot chocolate (oooweee, this had a great amount of heat and it was so good!) Temperature-wise, my hot chocolate and the food could have been a bit hotter. Overall, this was a cool restaurant.

Arthur Avenue Retail Market is a bustling Italian market known for its wide array of offerings, including cured meats, cheeses, breads, and pastries. The market houses multiple vendors, offering an indoor farmers market-style experience. One of the must-visit spots is Mikes Original Arthur Avenue Italian Deli counter, which has been serving cold cuts, sandwiches, and specialty pastas for over 50 years.
Definitely can spend a few hours here. Small quaint market in the middle of Arthur Ave. There is a fresh produce market, a few bars, a few sit down restaurants serving great Italian food. Tons of cured meat, cheese and pasta. There is also a butcher shop. Great wine selection and a handmade cigar bar.

Arthur Market is a true neighborhood treasure, blending authentic Italian flavor with a lively, old-world atmosphere. The selection is fantastic—juicy Italian sausages, all kinds of meats, buckets of flavorful olives, and some of the freshest fruits and vegetables you’ll find anywhere. Their pizza is made fresh and full of flavor, perfect for a quick bite while you shop. There’s also a little bar and café inside where you can enjoy a glass of wine, a cappuccino, or just take in the vibe of the place. It’s warm, welcoming, and full of character. One of the most unique touches? The cigar shop, where you can actually watch cigars being hand-rolled right in front of you. It’s a rare sight and adds even more charm to an already special spot. Arthur Market is more than just a place to shop—it’s an experience. If you’re in the area, it’s absolutely worth a visit.

Mario's Restaurant is a family-owned and operated neapolitan restaurant that has been serving up delicious Italian-inspired fare since 1919. The wide-ranging menu features six recipes that have not changed in over 100 years, and the atmosphere is friendly and inviting. I ordered the Magherita pizza and was attentively waited on! The recipe is 100+ years old and did not disappoint. Nice quiet place for lunch, would love to return with a group for dinner as it seems more of a family-style focused establishment than a place to grab a quick bite.

Mario's has been a family tradition since the 1960s. I have fond memories of large family gatherings at this treasure of a restaurant since I was 8 or 9 years old! Mario's granddaughter almost always greets you at the door and makes sure that you're welcomed and cared for. Incredibly helpful and friendly! The wait staff is very knowledgeable and can't work any harder to make your time there unforgettably wonderful!! In the last few months, my girlfriend and I have been there several times and have chosen different dishes from their varied menu. Everything has always been prepared perfectly...so mouthwatering and delicious. I've had their stracciatella soup, which is incredible, as is their salmon, their pasta, and their chicken francese, to name a few. The bread basket is filled with amazingly tasty, crispy and soft sliced bread with oil or butter! Needless to say - desserts....just great!!! I love the tartufo, but they have a number of other terrific choices as well. And...coffee!! The interior is decorated with old-world paintings and soft lighting. Arthur Avenue is always busy, but they have a parking valet who takes care of your vehicle and makes sure it returns in perfect condition when you're ready to leave. Mario's is a special and lovely restaurant experience that we will continue to enjoy for years to come!!

Restaurant
Tatiana by Kwame Onwuachi is a restaurant located in the reopened David Geffen Hall at Lincoln Center. The dining experience here is likened to watching a controlled and electric autobiographical monologue by Onwuachi. The menu reflects his childhood in the Bronx and Nigeria, as well as his culinary journey from working on an oil-spill-response vessel to prestigious establishments like Per Se and Eleven Madison Park.
I’ve heard mixed reviews but I loved it! The food was imaginative and delicious. The space was lush and lively and they were playing all the R&B hits from the late 90’s. Our server, Beatrice, was a gem - always ready to top off my wine and bring us little extras. Glad I finally made it in!
Ms. T — Google review
Tatiana by Kwame Onwuachi is a culinary triumph. More than a meal, it is a celebration of African American culture and cuisine uniquely interpreted through the lens of New York. The food here is bold, thoughtful and reverent with each dish telling a unique story. Its more than nostalgia, but heritage and tradition reinterpreted for the modern era. The cooking here insists that African American food belongs in the same conversation as other haute cuisine and is comfortable on the city's most competitive stage. The unique juxtaposition of Tatiana within Lincoln Center is itself a statement, with its stark style and urban cultural influence (from the Bronx to Harlem) standing alongside an institution that was synonymous with European high art such as opera and ballet. The dishes here a refuse easy categorization and there are elements of Africa, the Caribbean and New York simultaneously fused together. Must tries include the curried goat patties (a wink to Jamaican and New York street food), dukes shrimp (a throwback to shrimp boils from deep south), wagyu pastrami (an elevated and indulgent version of a deli staple) and the cosmic brownie with powdered donut ice cream (a bodega homage). The energy in Tatiana is equally buzzy and feels closer to a nightclub or block party than a fine dining restaurant. The playlist is immaculate, sampling R&B, Hip-Hop and rap greatest hits from the late 90s and 2000s (think TLC, Jay-Z, Neo, Destiny's Child, J.Cole) which adds to the atmosphere and performance. I will caution that the demand for Tatiana is insatiable and the kitchen and dining room operate at full capacity at all times. Reservations are still hard to come by (be prepared to book your table the second it opens on Resy) and be prepared to wait when you are there (for your table, to get drinks, to put in your order, to get your cheque, etc). Like many of New York's most in demand restaurant, there are most guests than staff which easily overwhelms the kitchen. But staff here are sincere and hardworking and try their best to stay on top. Also budget approximately $150/person with tax and tip. Make no mistake, Tatiana is still a fine dining restaurant.

I went to Tatiana during my birthday trip to New York, and honestly, it ended up being one of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had! We showed up on a Saturday around 3:50 with no reservation, and there was already a line forming. By 4:30, the staff came out with complimentary tea for everyone waiting, which I thought was such a thoughtful touch. Right at 5:00, the doors opened and we were able to choose between sitting outside or at the bar we went with the bar, and I’m so glad we did! The energy was perfect great music, good vibes, and the friendliest staff you could ask for. Everyone was so polite, warm, and genuinely happy to be there. We ordered the lamb ribs, pastrami, oxtails, and curry goat empanadas. Let me tell you the lamb ribs were the best thing I’ve ever eaten in my life. I’m still thinking about them days later! The empanadas and oxtails were also full of flavor and perfectly cooked. The pastrami was just okay to me, but everything else completely made up for it. Since it was my birthday, they surprised us with a complimentary dessert a brownie, powdered doughnut, and ice cream and it was the sweetest ending to an amazing meal. Between the food, atmosphere, music, and incredible staff, I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. If you’re ever in NYC, Tatiana is a must. I’d rate it 10/10 highly recommend!

As good as you have been told, however I really want to highlight the service which may have been the best I have experienced. The waitress was an older Latina woman who was spectacular. The braised ox tail was the tenderest version of it I have ever had. The stewed chicken was the perfect amount of spice, I loved it. The mango chutney with the empanadas was awesome. The rib was great also. The side car cocktail was awesome. The rice, doubles and the cosmic brownie was great but I definitely have had better versions. The music was perfect pure vibes and at the correct volume. The staff really shines here I cant explain how good they were. Overall worth the hype they receive. Would absolutely return.

great service friendly and knowledgeable staff and very accommodating. Great place for special event the food is eclectic and delicious! Get their riff on pastrami ruben and all the appys! The Jamaican patties were just out of this world. It's an original take on Caribbean cuisine that's sophisticated and elegant the chef really has mad skills! highly recommend

I’m gonna give this a perfect score. I feel like people commonly criticize the prices but my feeling was yes, they are a bit high and going even higher in the last year, but look at it as a location surcharge. Look at where you are dining. They probably have rent to pay like any restaurant and I’m sure it’s not cheap. Overall the food, service and atmosphere were top notch. The most unforgettable element for us was the service. From the minute we stepped in the door we were treated like the most important people in the room, and this was made all the more impressive later in our meal when we realized Jay Z and Beyoncé were dining on the other side of the restaurant. This didn’t stop the maitre d from checking on a couple of walk ins multiple times throughout our meal, and our server offering us a complimentary dessert because he could tell we were really torn between two options. It’s incredible to feel so taken care of. Beyond that, everything we ordered was delicious, hot, complex and really interesting. Hats off to this team, we will be back!

Wow, what an amazing meal. The chef refers to this restaurant as his "love letter to nyc" and boy do you feel it! The short rib pastrami is exactly that...a love letter to nyc. The curried goat patties and piri salad are also amazing. The core value cocktail is to die for if you like an old fashioned or a manhattan as it's kind of a combo of the two. We had a reservation but others in line didn't and were able to get in so give it a try.

Tatiana by Kwame Onwuachi is one of the most celebrated and award-winning restaurants in New York City. Featured on lists of the best restaurants in the country, praised by The New York Times and Pete Wells, nominated for a James Beard Award — and honestly, every foodie I know dreams of getting a table here. Many of my friends have tried to book and failed. We got lucky thanks to a friend: he went to the bar, spoke with the manager, and got a tip — come at 4:00 PM, one hour before opening, stand in the walk-in line, and you might get seated. He did exactly that. I joined at 5:00, and by 5:40 we were sitting on the patio. At first, we were a bit disappointed to be outside, but it turned out to be perfect — the dining room was loud (music, conversations, dim lighting), while on the patio it was bright, calm, and quiet. They say people often come here before a show at Lincoln Center, but we made the trip just for the food — and it was absolutely worth it. The crowd was stylish, with guests in beautiful dresses and suits — a very nice dressed-up crowd. Our waitress (wearing striking silver-framed glasses) was fantastic and guided us through the menu so well we couldn’t resist her suggestions. The star of the night was the Short Rib Pastrami — marinated for five days! Served with caraway bread, braised red cabbage, and mustard sauce — you assemble your own sandwich. The portion is large, perfect for two. At $120, it’s the most expensive dish on the menu, but worth every penny — every table seemed to order it. As for starters — you can’t go wrong with any. We especially loved the “wontons” filled with crab and oxtail. Every dish came with its own unique spice profile: sorrel here, celery there, a twist on mustard, hot pepper, paprika… Many flavors felt exotic and warm, with clear African influences. Everything was incredibly tasty and made with top-quality ingredients. Service was outstanding — the manager poured us a glass of wine to celebrate the fact that we made it in. We stayed for hours, even though the short ribs took a little longer to arrive. The space is beautifully designed down to the restrooms, which have great music and lighting. Highly recommend!

I want to start off with saying that the food arrived steaming hot delivery person was very understanding and nice. He did not have change on him which was a little inconvenient. We ordered over the phone paid in cash delivery time was 45 minutes and we are approximately less than 2 miles away if thatThe chicken wings and french fries were freshly fried the chicken wings however we’re extremely soft, which is alarming in a sense because why is it so soft but the meat inside is Slightly hard I didn’t necessarily mind, but my partner did. It wasn’t crispy was just soft. Fries are crinkle cut nothing special in seasoning or taste. The shrimp lo mein tasted a mid it will get you through when needed. Chicken wings and pork fried rice was NOT FRESH. I smelled the rice and the pork it smelled old, bitter, and tart. I didn’t even eat it not one scoop. Plain broccoli was surprisingly fresh. I was scared by the rice. The white rice smells weird it came free with the broccoli also didn’t eat. The fried wontons were okay. The meat inside didn’t taste very fresh either but the shell casing was crispy. The crab Rangoon’s were nasty. Just nasty. I think the best things were the french fries, broccoli, and ginger ale. I would rate this restaurant overall, a three out of 10 and I give them a two out of five rating based on delivery, taste, and quality.

Steam dumplings, the flour thicker than the meat. The orange chicken rice and chicken too dry. The orange chicken wasn’t orange at all, more like dark brown. I had to throw away the food. I will order lunch somewhere else. Please cook better I know you can. I will not order again I am so disappointed with their cooking style bad food for me

I used to come here years ago when I lived in the area... Went back after about 8 years and man was the food still delicious. Still got stickey rip tips with bbq, the chicharron de pollo with the black garlic sauce is just great! Not to mention the pork fried rice and general tso's chicken was also very delicious. Thank you foohing for the great food.

Freshly Made is a small but welcoming place where customers are greeted as they walk in. The smoothies and juices, made primarily from fruits and vegetables, are highly recommended for their freshness and great taste. Customers can choose from specific combinations on the menu or create their own concoctions. In addition to the beverages, there are also delicious sandwiches available. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable about the products offered, including the popular protein balls that can be taken as a snack or meal on-the-go.
Great addition of juices and fresh, healthy foods to the South Bronx. Don't get it twisted, there have always been numerous places offering juices to the vibrant community, but few also have the kind of space and additional food offerings as freshly made. The prices are very reasonable and the staff, helpful.

I’m a super happy customer! I always come around to grab my favorite juice ! Trust me when I told you that the guys working here are gonna make you feel welcomed and will help you decide if you have trouble choosing what to eat or drink. Is a small place but they have chairs, and a table if you want to go ahead and enjoy your meal or drink in there. Can be pricey for people when I said I pay $7.08 for a juice but it worth every penny. I mean, I get full drinking it, after I drink it I don’t feel like eating i get satisfied quick. And is something natural, made with fruits that help you a lot with your digestive system and weight loss. They make juices for particular things like if you haven’t sleep good or eat too much during the week etc.

Daniel is an elegant French restaurant that requires jackets and is known for its traditional cuisine bourgeoise. The dining room is grand with plush banquettes, chandeliers, and an open kitchen. The menu features classic dishes like quenelle de brochet, veal tongue with caviar, and tout le lapin prepared in three ways.
I really enjoyed my time at Daniel last night. The restaurant has a lot of history and it's a really beautiful restaurant. The bar is amazing too. My server gave perfect service and I wish him the best. The presentation of the dishes were extremely creative like a work of art. Many 3 star restaurants don't have such creativity and presentation to their dishes. I really enjoyed the rabbit dish and the lamb saddle. The sauces paired with both of these dishes were amazing. I also enjoyed their array of breads to choose from as well as the cheese tray add on. That was excellent. Overall, I recommend coming to Daniel for an excellent meal, service, and a memorable experience. I've been to around 50 Michelin star restaurants so I can compare this restaurant to others. I think this restaurant is definitely worth a visit as it sets its self apart from other Michelin star restaurants.

I finally had the chance to dine at Daniel for my birthday and we opted for the 5-course prix fixe menu. Canapes: Excellent start. There was a uni bite I really enjoyed, though I wish I remembered the rest—it all went by quickly but set the tone nicely. Maine Sea Scallop Carpaccio: A solid beginning to the courses. The scallop paired beautifully with grapefruit—fresh, light, and delicious. Warm Seafood Fricassee: This one was interesting. It came with small pieces of snail, octopus, squid, mussels, a SINGLE small pieces of lobster, and scallop. The seafood itself was great, though the sauce threw me off—it had a peanut or nutty flavor that didn’t work for me (personal preference, since I’m not a fan of nutty sauces). The squid was also a little chewy. Funny enough, while I was jotting notes on my phone, the waiter came over almost immediately to check in and even offered to replace the dish. I appreciated the attentiveness but decided to keep it. Black Cod: Served with caviar and beluga lentils. The texture of the fish was tender and cooked well, though slightly bland. Pennsylvania Duck: Perfectly cooked—medium and tender—but I wasn’t a fan of the olives embedded in the duck or the pecan sauce, which I felt didn’t complement the dish. Mekonga (Dessert): A dark chocolate dessert with coconut milk jam. I didn’t get much of the coconut flavor, but overall it was a solid, well balanced dessert. They also served freshly baked madeleines at the end, which were decent but not particularly memorable. The chocolate piece with gold flakes looked pretty but didn’t taste special, and the mini coffee macaron was a definite miss for me. At the end of the night, they invited us into the kitchen for a quick look. It was a kind gesture, though there wasn’t much to see—nice touch, but not particularly rewarding… meh… Overall, I’d give Daniel a strong 4 stars. The service was exceptional—though it did slow down once the restaurant got busy, and we ended up waiting almost 30 minutes for dessert. Still, it was a great experience overall. A few dishes could use small tweaks. But, solid

While visiting NYC recently, wanted to experience fine dinning that was quintessentially New York. In my research, Daniel came highly recommended I have had some really amazing fine dinning experiences in my local area of Australia and New Zealand but Daniel is at another stratospheric level of fine dinning. I am so glad that I actually had the opportunity to visit My first night's experience of the delightful Mushroom Consommé followed by the Wagyu Beef and finished off with the Fig + Cheese Cake dessert was so incredible, I had to come back a second night to try their other delectable offerings When I asked at the end of the first night if they were able to seat me the following night, the team was amazing and found me a spot The second night was just as phenomenal with the Scallop Carpaccio, Blue Fin Tuna and Moroccan Chocolate The service both nights was warm, welcoming and so personable which I so appreciate. The atmosphere was beautifully elegant. The food was at its own divine level of taste, textures and creativity A big thank you to Daniel, Brian, Peter, Alan, Jorje, Matthew and the greater Daniel team for making me feel so welcome and the whole experience at Daniel - both nights so amazing. I do look forward to being back at Daniel soon

Daniel... very iconic food all tasted great, we didn't do the tasting menu. Did a few a La Carte dishes. The service was phenomenal. Pricy but experience was worth it.
Maria M — Google review
Daniel is unequivocally one of my favorite fine dining restaurants in New York City, and every visit to Daniel is an indulgent journey into high-level gastronomy. I always choose the eight course tasting menu, and my two standout favorites over the years are their New York foie gras and Maine sea scallops, each bite exquisitely crafted. Every course arrives as a work of art, beautifully plated, deeply flavorful, and thoughtfully paced. It is the literal definition of culinary artistry and fine dining. The experience is elegant from start to finish. The service is polished yet warm, and the dining room is refined with coffered ceilings, sparkling chandeliers, and understated sophistication. Though the pricing is high, with the eight course menu running around $295 to $300 per person, for NYC standards this is absolutely worth it, especially if you are celebrating a special occasion or just want to splurge on truly memorable food. What saddens me is that Michelin currently rates Daniel at only one star, a puzzling demotion for a restaurant that consistently delivers excellence in execution and creativity. Daniel previously held two Michelin stars, and before that even three, which makes this latest rating feel like an injustice. Despite Michelin’s concerns about inconsistency, to me Daniel remains a gem, a place where passion for seasonal French cuisine meets meticulous presentation, and where each course showcases top tier ingredients like foie gras and scallops at their peak. Every visit reaffirms why it remains one of the finest and most reliable dining experiences in New York. In short, it is expensive, but absolutely worth it. If you are looking to celebrate or treat yourself, Daniel never disappoints.

Jean-Georges is a sophisticated French restaurant with stunning views of Central Park. It is the flagship among 14 restaurants owned by Jean-Georges Vongerichten in New York and over 42 worldwide. The two-Michelin-starred eatery, opened in 1997, offers a unique cuisine that emphasizes intense flavors of seasonal farm-fresh produce with influences from Asia. Signature dishes include tuna tartare, seared scallops, and soft-shell crabs during summer.
I mean, would you expect less than 5 stars for a 2-Michelin Star restaurant? The food was delicious, but beyond that, creative and thoughtful. I picked Jean-Georges for my Michelin Star dining experience because the menu sounded stellar. Too many restaurants either over-simplify or over-complicate food. Jean-Georges walks the line of creativity and sophistication without crossing over into absurdity. I will definitely be back once my budget recovers!
Abigail H — Google review
Amazing experience, but for a 2 Star Michelin, it needs some improvement! I was expecting something more intimate and the restaurant was packed. We were seated in a table with a long couch with two other families very close to us. We had the six course omnivore and two courses were disappointing: the caviar taste disappeared in the green garbanzo beans; the wagyu per se was tasteless and needs improvement! The last thing was the restroom, which was very basic and not compatible with the restaurant sophistication!
Wladimir M — Google review
Wonderful and friendly staff. Delicious tasting menu. We selected the 6 course menu and we were not disappointed. Great selection of wine; but apparently they don’t offer wine and food pairing options.
Blue N — Google review
Jean-Georges’ flagship restaurant delivers everything expected of a $400 tasting menu, plus some more. One of the best meals of my life. JG’s flavors are bright, inventive, and delicious, marked by judicious use of acidity and flavors from all over Asia. Genius. I’ve never experienced these sorts of interesting flavors at any other restaurant. Despite its age, JG is one of the most youthful and exciting fine dining restaurants in NYC, full of vigor and brimming with fresh ideas. It actively pushes the boundaries of the art of fine dining the same way that a maestro wants to leave an imprint in their own artistic field. JG is worthy of being a destination dining. Caveat: you must love acidity to enjoy a meal here. Normally I highlight the standout dishes. Here, every dish was a standout except two, an exceptionally high hit rate for such a long menu. The caviar with coconut semifreddo and dill oil felt too simplistic and flat: fun concept but seemed missing a few ingredients. The seared foie gras was missing acidity. If it appeared earlier in the meal I’d have enjoyed it more (but then it’d ruin my appetite). A sweet and heavy dish towards the end was a bit much without some acidity to balance it out. Everything else was downright phenomenal, especially the madai sashimi with strawberry, sakura, and wasabi, which sent me directly to the stratosphere. The tuna tartare’s decoration is an exemplar of garnish for flavor, not just aesthetics, as the mint added a nice surprise and significantly changed two or three bites. The dining room was beautifully bathed by natural lighting with a nice view of the mall and skyscrapers. The wine by the glass selection was just as complex and exciting as the food. The service was extraordinary: conversational without feeling rehearsed, and it felt like they’d do everything in their power to make sure you have an excellent dinner. I look forward to my next meal here.
Richard W — Google review
What a delightful experience. From the ambience and service to the food, everything was on point. We were celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary and we felt this was a very special experience. We chose the 10-course omnivore tasting menu and it did not disappoint. The only dish we didn't particularly enjoy was the squab. It was cooked perfectly and the ingredients were very interesting, but it felt too heavy as the ninth course and the flavor of the meat had a strong aftertaste. This, I'm sure is a matter of personal taste. I would have personally preferred the wagyu beef from the 6-course menu. The other nine courses, the amuse bouche, the special anniversary mousse dessert and the mignardises were all fabulous! The French and SE Asian flavors were delicate and complex at the same time, combining textures, temperatures and all four flavors plus umami. Just exquisite. Thank you for making our day so special. Shout out to our friendly server from Georgia.
Paola G — Google review
This experience was incredible! I honestly cannot say anything negative about this fine dining experience. We chose the “Six” omnivore tasting. This was $268 per person. From the start, we had an incredible server. All encounters with Jean-Georges staff were positive. My favorite course was Course 3, the Peekytoe Crab. My least favorite (which was still great) was Course 4, the Black Sea Bass. I can only say I had a least favorite course because I’m just not much of a fan of Sea Bass, but if you, you will enjoy it. Flavorful is such an understatement when describing the food we were served. Only great things to say about Jean-Georges! Thank you. NOTE: Dress up! Even if you feel overdressed - you’re not. Everyone in this restaurant was in either a suit or a proper dress.

Can't say enough about how wonderful our experience was. They made our anniversary so special and were able to accommodate my gluten allergy with gluten free options and substitutions which made me feel looked after. The wagyu was one of the best I've ever had, and that's saying something.

Decent Italian spot in the heart of The Bronx’s Little Italy. Our large group was well accommodated at a nice round table in the corner. My boyfriend and I came here for my mom's birthday today. She is very set on going to Sammy's fish box; it is her favorite City Island seafood restaurant, so I wanted to take her someplace different for a change. Needless to say this place did not disappoint, our server was a man named Nicholas. The experience itself was phenomenal; we got there a little after it opened so we were practically the first ones there almost. We sat in a section with window seats It was very cozy, the music was giving very comfortable and jam. The food was delicious, the appetizers were also delicious, the bread we kept requesting and the drinks were definitely slammin. My mom most definitely enjoyed herself here today and I think she has a new restaurant to add to her radar at City Island thankfully, I know I sure do. I definitely look forward to coming back here and I highly recommend this place to anybody looking for not only good food, good service, good drinks, good ambience but overall a good time.

The food was really good. I did get the blackened steak with roasted potatoes and broccoli along with their version of seafood Alfredo. The customer service is superb. They were very welcoming and friendly. They do have free parking. If I have one complaint I would say that the potatoes was hard and the broccoli was bland but the customer service along with the Alfredo made me smile and that’s why I’m giving them five stars they had decent music.

A number of locals and regulars recommended we not miss Artie’s while visiting City Island. Quite an institution with a great staff. We met the owner as we were seated. We sat in the bar room but at a window table with the sunlight streaming in. Bar was almost full at 630p on a Monday night. Excellent sign. Great classic jazz playing on the sound system. The room was comfortable and warm and full of laughter. Our server took our drinks order and recommended some items off the regular menu and the specials board. Of particular interest were the largest steamer clams I’d ever seen. They buy their seafood fresh 3 times a week. Nothing goes in the freezer. All our food was delicious. The complimentary bread butter and olive oil was exactly what we needed with those clams. By the time dinner was over we’d made friends with a local couple at the bar who got married at the Yacht Club here in the late 80s. So we moved over and had a few more rounds and listened to stories about the old days in this nice little town. I highly recommend this place for very good food, excellent service, strong drinks, unique ambience and overall a grand time.

Arties is always a great dining experience - much different from the traditional seafood shacks on City Island (which are also very enjoyable). Aside from amazing, fresh seafood, Arties serves up some expertly prepared steaks, chops and Italian specialties. Staff across the board is always friendly and on point. Definitely a repeat, go-to spot.

My husband and I recently celebrated his birthday at Artie's Steak and Seafood, and the dining experience was exceptional. The service was outstanding, and I was particularly impressed by the staff's attentiveness and the pleasant atmosphere. Our waiter, Nicholas, provided excellent service. We began with the crab cakes as an appetizer, which were outstanding, ranking among the best we've encountered. The crab cakes were flavorful and perfectly crispy. For our entrees, we selected the steak, which was cooked to our specifications. The steak was tender, juicy, and well-seasoned. The portion size exceeded my expectations, providing leftovers for multiple meals. I highly recommend Artie's for special occasions or any dining experience. I anticipate returning soon.

Arties always delivers an amazing time. For Mother’s Day, they went above and beyond—flawless service (as always), incredible dishes, and cocktails that hit the spot. Easily one of the best restaurants around!

Food was good. Quiet place to dine. Nothing extraordinarily wow but good. The oyster oreganattas were great but not sure if they have them all the time.

The place is dim, looks a bit dated, and could definitely use a bit of freshening up, that said everyone of our entrées were cooked to perfection, the 22 Oz. Blackened Rib-Eye Steak Served with roasted red potatoes and vegetables will set you back like $65.00 but is worth every penny. large portions, attentive staff and great service, our wonderful waitress Esha made our trip from Bensonhurst Brooklyn worth the trip. We had mentioned that someone at the table was celebrating a birthday, she made sure to sing happy birthday as she brought her dessert to the table. Overall it was an amazing experience.

Havana Café is an intimate restaurant and mojito lounge located in the Bronx, offering a mix of classic and innovative Cuban dishes in an elegant setting. The menu features a fusion of Caribbean favorites and modern Cuban cuisine, including Cuban sandwich empanadas, churrasco, buttermilk pancakes, and spicy breakfast casserole. Situated in the Schuylerville neighborhood, this bustling spot stands out with its upscale ambiance, sidewalk-cafe seating, and a wide bar.
There was a misunderstanding about the meal however Oscar (our waiter) accommodate the change. We were so satisfied with the meal. It was a sufficient amount and the service from the bus man to the waiter was professional and kind. Eduardo is very kind and pleasant. The ambiance it's rustic and trendy. I've coming here a while and still like it

5-17 - Bad Service / Flavorless food. Bad Service. The place was empty at 3 pm on a Saturday. We had to ask for plates and utensils. The appetizers were brought to us before any plates or utensils. What are we supposed to eat with? The place was pretty empty, yet there was a lack of service for my party of 10. I had to wait a very long time to ask for a drink refill. No one came by every now and then to check to see if anyone in a party of 10 needed a refill or anything else. The drinks were heavily water down and FULL of ice. I ordered a single ginger ale and it was 75% ice and 25% ginger ale. It was full of water 15min later as the ice melted quickly. The other drinks my family ordered was also an entire glass of ice with minimal alcohol beverage. The same for my kids Shirley Temple. They didn't even want anything to drink again it was so bad. The food was very bland. The pollo al mojo was unseasoned. All they did was cook the white meat and then add the sauce on top after. The same could be said for the Salmon. It was also unseasoned and the sauce poured on top after. The Palomilla was the same thing, steak cooked without seasoning and the sauces added to it after. My children did not like the Arroz con pollo due to the lack of chicken. 90% rice 10% very small pieces of chicken. And my teenage kids are good eaters and know flavor. I ordered a side of avocado to go with my meal and they literally brought me an entire plate full of a whole sliced up avocado. The appetizers were much better than the meals. The emepandas were really good as well as the chicharon de pollo. These best part about our meal were their Maduros. Everyone agreed was amazing. I would not recommend coming here again unless you only ate appetizers and maduros. The tables were all very sticky from overuse and years of improper cleaning. The best part about this place was the live DJ and his music. Avoid this place if you want authentic Cuban food or drinks. And no, im not sorry for my detailed post. They need to do better.

I’ve been coming to Havana Cafe for over 10 years, and while it’s definitely changed over time, the vibe still hits every time. On my recent visit, the drinks were absolutely on point!! On point like a porcupine! The DJ kept the energy high, and the atmosphere was lively and fun as always. That said, the food wasn’t at its best this time. The white rice was a bit hard, and there weren’t many steak options to choose from. Service could’ve been more attentive too. Still, the overall experience made up for the downsides. If you’re coming for the music, drinks, and a great night out, Havana Cafe still delivers. Just hoping they tighten up the food and service a bit!

This restaurant is nice place to go to for after work, hanging out with friends and family, or just if you want to get something to eat or sit at a bar to have a drink. The music they play is relaxing and sometimes loud but you can still talk and have a great time. I recommend this restaurant 100%.

I absolutely adore Havana café; it's truly one of my favorite spots to unwind and enjoy a meal. The ambiance and general atmosphere of the café is simply amazing 👏, creating a perfect setting for relaxation. When it comes to the food, I'm always blown away by the delicious dishes they offer. One of my all-time favorite dishes there is the red snapper; its flavors are simply divine. Every time I visit, I'm greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere. With locations in Yonkers and Washington Heights, the restaurant offers a warm and inviting atmosphere with brightly lit dining rooms adorned with colorful murals of Dominican landscapes. Despite potential crowds, the friendly service and delicious food make it worth the wait. The menu features a wide range of options at affordable prices, making it a great spot for a satisfying meal.
Working in the area. Coworker recommended this place for lunch. He had the chicken he loves. Have to say probably one of the BEST Roast Pork dishes iv have, “FANTASTIC” Love to be here for dinner atmosphere was great place crowded for lunch. What do you expect for one of the best place in the area. Thank you

It almost felt like a quick trip to the Dominican Republic. I really like Dominican food — the fried chicken (chicharron de pollo) and pork(chicharron), the plátanos, the cheese, rice with beans… even the Dominican beer. I just love it all. Other Dominican spots I’ve been to, the staff usually don’t speak English, so it was awesome that our server actually could. Had a great time overall, but wow — the bathroom smell was rough.

Excellent service, best cubano ever. The sancochado was delicious. And their jugo de piña and batido de guanabana. Literally loved everything here, would prioritize eating here again next time in New York. Me encantó :)

We took the subway to Washington Heights to explore the neighborhoods and worked up an appetite. I picked out the Malecon restaurant in advance after reviewing the menu and the many good reviews.

We were seated quickly and spent a few minutes looking over the substantial menu.

I chose one of the daily specials and my wife selected what she thought would be lighter a bowl of their Sopa De Pollo. A server brought a plate of warm bread and after a few minutes our food arrived - it was plentiful! I enjoyed the Pernil which was slow-roasted marinated pork, served with a side of Moro Gandules (mixed rice with pigeon peas). The pork was so very tender and flavorful - would definitely order again. Honestly, I was not a fan of the mixed rice (I do not love peas) but that’s my fault for ordering. My dining partner enjoyed her bowl of Sopa De Pollo, flavorful broth with lots of big chunks of Chicken. We shared a plate of Maduros (sweet fried plantains). So tasty. The prices were very affordable and the serving plentiful. Although I thoroughly enjoyed my Pork, next time I would order one of the dishes with the roast chicken (you can see the rotisserie in the front window and an employee cutting up the freshly roasted chicken as you enter the restaurant.

Great tasting food, Dominican Style food. Be prepared for well seasoned dishes is so tasty. It's a usually busy place & the people that work there are polite. The only thing that I wish was better is more Dominican Music & if they would put the volume up a little more hahaha I loved their smoothies too which are great in the hot weather

The Edge Harlem is a hip and cute caribbean restaurant that offers weekday brunch. It has a relaxed and welcoming vibe, and its spacious interior is both hip and cute. In addition to weekend brunch, it also has the rare weekday brunch service.
This place is IT! We decided to try this place for brunch and we were completely blown away— the initial impression was something to write about. The place was clean the decor was lovely, albeit small, the service was impeccable and the food, sublime, even the playlist was relative and played a role in our food experience. The carafe of ginger mimosa was refreshing and I felt my palate tickled with every sweet sip. The soup was a first, and a beautiful one. It was smooth creamy and delicious ! All the appetizers were spot-on in flavor presentation and taste. The entrees were delightful, I loved the festivals, they tasted just the way I expected them to. Yum! The grits were filling and velvety and the flavor was mild, the tacos are worth the try, the kale was not soft at all, it had a nice crunch in every bite and you could just taste the health in every bite. The bread pudding was out of this world! You have to try it! This place is the perfect place for nostalgic Jamaican food, or some authentic NYC eats. Check out the pics. Go to Edge, don’t walk, run!

I wanted to love this place so badly!! The ambiance and service were wonderful!!! This was my first time in Harlem and I was excited to try this Caribbean spot. I ordered the Jerk Chicken and waffles, and was surprisingly underwhelmed. The jerk chicken was dry and got cold quickly. It also could have used a bit more spices to bring out the flavor. The waffles were soft, which I liked, but everything got cold really quickly. My friend also didn’t finish her burger (and she’s Caribbean 🥴) The codfish fritters were the best thing I had and would order them again. The atmosphere was great, music was a vibe, the service was wonderful! Just wish the food hit like everything else did as well.

Decided to try The Edge Harlem because the menu seemed interesting. My husband had the pancakes which he enjoyed amd i had the salad which was ,ok. I also ordered the codfish fritters which were ok as well. I was expecting to taste more of the fish chunks- but there was more flour added. The atmosphere is comfy and cool. I wasnt impressed but I would give it another try.

Walked in to make a lunch reservation for a big party for the same day. For this very professional staff it was not a problem. We were seated on time and served a great meal that we all enjoyed at a leisurely pace. Among the range of choices- tuna melt, chicken and waffles, coconut fishburger, and others everyone loved their dishes. An impressive crowd for a Thursday afternoon but the staff handled everything with ease. Will return with great pleasure anytime.

Mapo BBQ is a popular Korean restaurant in Flushing known for its tableside grilling experience and delicious kalbi, the marinated short rib. The restaurant offers a variety of side dishes to complement the main course. It's recommended to visit with a group to fully enjoy the Korean BBQ experience. Mapo BBQ is praised for its authentic flavors and cooking techniques, including grilling the beef over charcoal for added smokiness.
Visit for lunch. It was surprising that they offer 9 small dishes for a lunch menu. They use fish sauce a little bit more than my way. So the taste of most food is not my style, but It was impressive already. And the servers are kind also.

Great food! A lot of kbbq places either give really little food or bad tasting side dishes, but we got a lot of meat and a lot of tasty side dishes. I also really enjoyed the naeongmyun. This is my 5th time to eat at this restaurant. We usually go there for dinner. The food is quite tasty, delicious and friendly. The auntie who is the staff there is quite lovely. But this time I went to eat in the afternoon, I got a rather bad service. She brought the hot pot and turned on the gas and walked away. I'm not sure how many minutes it took to eat because I waited until the fish was mushy. Actually, the fish should be in pieces, but we don't know if she will come back to tell us that the food is ready and can be eaten immediately. But she didn't say anything and walked away. The food didn't taste very good. So I decided to help myself. But what's worse is that after we paid the bill, the staff came back with the receipt and she asked for a tip in cash. I think the service today was very bad and I think she shouldn't have said that. I feel very sad today

After the Mets game, we wanted to grab something to eat. We originally intended to dine at a different bbq spot but there was a wait time so decided to check this place out. We got seated right away. We ordered soju and beer and the waitress helped us order the right amount of meat. We got the marinated galbi and brisket. Love how they give you so much banchan, soup, and steamed eggs. We were so full and the service was great. The only downfall was how rushed we were to place our order and close our tab. We didn’t ask for the check but the waitress brought it out. It seemed like they were closing soon which is why they probably were rushing but we were still eating and drinking and would’ve probably ordered more drinks. Otherwise, solid kbbq spot for galbi!

They serve a wide variety of side dishes, about a dozen in total, and almost all taste pretty good. An aunty will help grill the meat, though when it’s busy she might not be able to keep up. The grill runs quiet hot so can enjoy the meat quickly. I highly recommend the G3, the meat is wonderfully tender. Surprisingly, the yukgaejang is reall spicy yet tasty, but if can’t handle spice it’s better to skip it.

From Indian tandoori kebabs to Puerto Rican papas rellenos, the market offers a wide variety of ethnic foods at affordable prices with a $5-$6 price cap on food orders.
The Queens Night Market is such a wonderful way to spend time with friends and family outdoors in the summer. I especially enjoyed the craft shops. Shout out to the bands that played that evening, it was really cute in the earlier part of the evening when kids were dancing along to the band. I’d recommend bringing a picnic blanket to sit on in the field rather than trying to jockey for a table.

I've been attending the QNM for many years now (since they first started) - what I'm most fond of is the mixed crowd (hello, it's Queens where it's like a mini world of its own- yet you have "outsiders" attending). The difference foods, the vibe, music- just the atmosphere overall. I wouldn't recommend the first day (they open for their season- a bit dry ...as in not that much crowd or food vendors). Overall it is awesome. So make sure you attend next year an many more💃🏽💃🏽👍🏽

Had an amazing time trying different foods from different countries and cultures. Everything was priced at $5-$6. Enough to taste for two people without getting full and leaving room to taste other vendors. Lines move pretty quickly. Crowd died down around 8-9pm so lines were not as long. The music was nice.

Always a great place to try various ethnic food all in one spot. Just a few stop from willets point, and a 15min walk from the train, usually go after a mets game, instead of spending $30-40ea at the game you can come here and fill up for $30 for two people. They also have beer and wine stations. Portable bathrooms which are surprisingly very clean. The food here is very fresh and usually cooked to order to expect long lines. Majority of vendors take card but bring cash if you want beer/wine. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area

Cuchifritos is a beloved Puerto Rican eatery found in Harlem and the Bronx, offering traditional Puerto Rican cuisine in a casual counter-serve environment. This spot is known for its deep-fried delights such as alcapurrias, bacalaitos, fried yuca, plantains, empanadas, orejitas, and chicharrones. These Puerto Rican delicacies are popular snacks enjoyed after a night of partying or when on a budget.
The Spanish food here has consistently been excellent since my childhood. This family-run establishment is incredibly welcoming and supportive of the neighborhood. On September 7, 2024, I visited with my cousin, who hadn't been back to Harlem since 2000. We had a wonderful time together, enjoying delicious food and spending quality time with our aunt at her home for dinner and a movie. It was a memorable and enjoyable experience.

Hadn't been there since I was a child. The place still looks the same welcoming but not bougie. The quick chatter of friendly service and customers, the smells slowly transformed me to a time long ago. I placed my order, an alcapuria and a coconut drink, my favorite order as a child. The moment of truth... the alcapuria did not disappoint, the best alcapuria I have had in years. However, it was the coconut juice, the flavor was what I remembered... It was as if I had been transported back in time. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this place.

La Isla Cuchifrito is a fantastic eatery that serves delectable Latin, Puerto Rican, and American cuisine. Situated near Lincoln Hospital and CVS on East 149th Street, this restaurant often sees long queues due to its popularity. One of their specialties is the succulent pig dish that includes various parts like the ears, feet, and even the stomach (known as chittlings). The fried pork is particularly beloved by patrons.
Anyone who says bad of this place should not judge in public before speaking in private. Anyone who judges thinks they know better, thinks they are better at doing things, and think they are God. On the actual topic: This place is better than most. Price is reasonable, many times during lunch hours there is a long line that testifies to the restaurant's worth, and the food is great!

I’m very disappointed in these people!!! I ordered an alcapurria, I realized it didn’t taste fresh at all and I ended up throwing it out. Throughout the rest of my day, I was not feeling well, I couldn’t eat at all and I was feeling super nauseous. Later that night I woke up and vomited. I had to miss out on work. They are not using fresh ingredients, they have the same food out for days and are using unclean oils to cook their food in. As I passed by their restaurant the other day I noticed they have a grade C up for health inspection. Please do not go here!!!

I spent almost $50 on empanadas, relleno de papa, alcapurrias and chicharrón. The food was stale, wasn’t warm and I expected more flavor, it tasted bland. Also my boyfriend bit into a piece of bone that was in the empanada. The relleno de papa barely had meat. The lady seemed impatient and bothered. I don’t normally leave reviews but I know the food could have been better. I’ve had food there once before dining in and the food was good. I would say maybe enjoy the food while dining in.

Hard Rock Cafe is a chain with a high-energy vibe that serves burgers and American classics. The restaurants are popular for their entertainment options, including live music, DJs, and gaming areas. The food is delicious, and the customer service is excellent.
We got to the stadium a bit early to have dinner before the game! We had such a great time at the Cafe! The atmosphere was alive and people chatting all over the place! We received the most excellent customer service by Erica! She was so friendly, professional, helpful and had attention to detail! Last but not least, the food was amazingly delicious and plentiful! It was my first time there but not my last!

Amazingly awesome night rocking at Yankee Stadium! ⚾🎸 From the electric energy in the stands to the mouthwatering food (hello loaded fries & steaks and sandwiches 👀🔥), everything was top-tier! But what really made the night unforgettable? The entire staff—from the gates to the vendors to the ushers—every single person was welcoming, professional, and clearly treated each other like family. 💙

The worst meal we’ve had since we’ve been in NYC. Went there after Yankees tour. Ordered Bloody Marys, Chicken Sliders, and chicken/ steak Southwest Salad. All terrible. Sat at the bar. Only five total people at the bar but server was so absent. Bloody Marys were watery, chicken on sliders was so dry, steak was super tough and cold, and lettuce was browning. Only ate a few bites but server never asked if it was good/all ok. Would avoid eating here. Spent $107 for three meals. Atmosphere was super cool though!

Great experience with Anna! Excellent service and great atmosphere. We toured the stadium and then have a relaxing late lunch at Hard Rock. Beer was cold, food was good, and atmosphere is always fun, the kids loved it!!!

Our waitress Erica was amazing! She was easy to talk to and made our dinner a fun experience! Erica recommended one of the new burgers..The New York Burger and WOW was it fantastic. We frequent the restaurant often before games and the Supervisor Yvette is always friendly and accommodating along with the manager Christos. They are constantly walking the floor making sure your dinning experience is meeting your expectations. If your around the stadium on a game day I highly recommend stopping in for drinks and a bite to eat.

The Hard Rock Cafe has a fun, lively vibe that makes it the perfect place to grab a bite before a Yankees game. The hospitality here really stands out. From the host desk to the servers and manager, everyone is friendly, attentive, and efficient. They always make us feel welcome and frequently check-in without being overbearing. They know exactly how to strike the perfect balance of being efficient but never making you feel rushed. A special thank you to Barbara who was our amazing server on Thursday. Whether it was extra napkins, or water refills, she was always one step ahead. We never had to flag her down, she anticipated what we needed and made sure we were having a great experience. Barbara went beyond just excellent service, she took the time to chat and made everyone feel right at home. Many thanks to Christos, the manager, for taking care of us. He went out of his way to stop by our table during what was clearly a busy time. He checked-in to make sure everything was going well and that we were enjoying our dining experience. You can see how hard he works to try and accommodate everyone. The level of service here really shines and shows how well the entire staff works together as a team. We really enjoy the food at the Hard Rock and appreciate the variety on the menu. The portion sizes are generous, which is always a plus. Appetizers are easy to share, making it great for our party of 6. Our go-to appetizers are the flatbreads and the nachos. They’re always made just right, with the perfect amount of melted cheese and served at just the right temperature, delicious! Their burgers are fantastic. You can easily customize your order. They have the right amount of seasoning and are never dry. The fried chicken sandwich is another one of our favorites, it’s full of flavor and tender. The perfect combination of great food, friendly people, and a well-run space keeps us coming back. The Hard Rock really gets it right!

City Island Lobster House is a low-key seafood spot with outdoor seats located on Sound. The restaurant offers fresh seafood and American comfort fare, such as lobster tails, crab legs, and jumbo shrimp. It is a popular choice for summer weekends when traffic can discourage even seasoned veteran diners.
Our waiterwas Moises, he was very good and attentive. The food was fresh and fulfilling. I ordered the margarita and it was the best I ever had. I don’t know what they doing back there but the whole team here was definitely on point. This will definitely be my primary choice. Next time I come to city Island.

Was visitng in the area and stopped by to eat. The last few times we visited City Island, the experience wasn't so great. The good restaurants are long gone and the ones left are commercialized. We decided to stop and grab a bite. It has been a super long time I've dined here. The food was great! Fresh and good portions! Service was great! Danielle was our waitress. She was super friendly and attentive! The white sangria was delicious! It is great to know that there is still a family owned establishment that values great service and even greater food. On our way out we stopped to chat quickly with Joe the owner! Kudos to you and your team! I highly recommend this restaurant! When back in the area, we'll definitely visit again!!

First time visiting and it did not disappoint! The food is excellent and the portions are huge! You will leave stuffed! The garlic bread is awesome! I had the jumbo shrimp Parmesan and it was delicious! When they say jumbo, they mean gigantic! My friend had the special with the lobster tail and it was also delicious! And to top it off, the service was great! Our sever was Oscar and he took care of us! This is definitely a place to try!

This place is awesome. We sat on the porch overlooking the water. That garlic bread is everything people claim. Just amazing. I knocked off one star because the lobster was overcooked. But I'll still be back. Beware, this place is not cheap. Steve was just phenomenal! 💸💸

Outstanding experience! Victor is the man. Try to get a table outside or in the back if possible for more atmosphere. Great value in the enormous entrees - shared 2 entrees between 3 people and it was more than enough food. Everything was delicious. Can’t wait to return.

We recently visited City Island Lobster House to celebrate a friend’s birthday and had a truly wonderful experience. From the moment we arrived, the staff were exceptionally welcoming, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The food was outstanding — flavorful, well-prepared, and served in shareable portions that made dining together even more enjoyable. Our server, Anthony, was incredibly attentive and knowledgeable. He ensured our table was well taken care of throughout the evening, and our drinks were consistently perfect. Jojo, the owner, was friendly and approachable, which added a personal touch to our visit. Overall, the atmosphere was vibrant and comfortable, making us feel genuinely appreciated as guests. I’m already looking forward to my next visit to City Island Lobster House.

I visited City Island Lobster House after hearing amazing things about it, and I was really looking forward to it. My date had been there before and enjoyed it, so my expectations were pretty high. The food was tasty and the service was okay, but honestly, I left feeling a bit disappointed. I wanted to sit by the edge to enjoy the ocean view, but we were told those tables were only for large groups, so my partner and I (just the two of us) weren’t allowed to sit there. What really confused me was that a group of three came in shortly after. They could have easily sat at one of the smaller tables, but the staff brought out a table and let them sit right by the edge — exactly where we had asked to sit. So while the food was good, the experience didn’t meet my expectations, especially after all the great things I had heard. I just expected a little more.

Emilia's is a long-standing Italian restaurant located in the heart of Arthur Avenue, offering classic red-sauce standards and daily specials in generous portions. The cozy, unassuming setting exudes old-world charm with its friendly staff and nostalgic ambiance. Established in the 1980s, Emilia's transports diners to a bygone era with its traditional Italian music and timeless atmosphere.
I was visiting New York for my birthday and I specifically wanted authentic Italian for my birthday dinner. This place was as authentic as you can get. The food was amazing, the drinks were amazing, the service was amazing. Everything was just amazing! I had the lasagna and my God was it heavenly. This is an old-school solid Italian eatery. Service was a bit slow at first, we were a party of 5. Staff was pleasant, Drinks and apps were good - solid, not over-the-top. The zucchini flowers were good but oil-heavy. The pork braciole was a bit on the dry side but caught my attention since it's not often seen on menus. The Wild boar pappardelle was delicious. Cannoli & cheese cake were enjoyed. Portion sizes were plentiful. All in all, as our dear friend Dom would say: "Not thrilling but nice".

I highly recommend just for the service. The food: incredibly delicious. The red sauce was light and crisp. Very refreshing and delicious. The Chicken parm is the greatest of all time. My experience here was horrible from the service to the food. I came here hoping to try something new and different. I waited a very long time for my food while people who had ordered after me got there food faster. An employee asked me if I was being helped I said yes and after a few more minutes asked me what I had ordered. I told him. Apparently the guy who took my order not only forgot about my food but he had put it in the microwave where it was left sitting! The coworker grab my food and quickly put it in the oven but it could not be salvaged. It was dry and almost too crunchy to even chew I ended up throwing it out and going to another spot. Horrible experience. PS. I am a woman of color and I was the only person who's food was handled this way. I hate to bring up race but I can't help but feel like the bad service was racially motivated when everyone else there who does not look like me else is getting great service. Not the mention it took another Latino (the coworker) intervening for me to get my food and TRY to salvage the microwaved disaster. . My food should've been heated in the oven and served promptly just like everyone else. PsPs The man who took my order kept giving me a strange look (like a blank stare) and did not seem the least bit happy to have me there.I thought nothing of it maybe he's having a tough day but he seemed *slightly* more friendly towards the other customers that should've been my sign to leave

I had 2 slices. 1 cheese and 1 deluxe. The plain cheese was my favorite of the 2. I think I would have liked getting a whole fresh pie a little more than just a slice. It got a little to crunchy to make my best of list. I'd eat it again and did enjoy it, just not a top 10 in the city pizza for me. I do have to give then credit for still serving that big ole NYC slice.

To start off by saying great food. Amazingly great food. Problem I have is they say they take debit/credit. When it’s time to pay they say cash only or the machine doesn’t work. You say one thing just to say another. There’s also no apple pay (and I love apple pay). It’s extremely faster. The owner doesn’t seem to care or is interested.

If I could give 0 stars, I would. I placed an order through Uber Eats that was supposed to arrive by 7:30pm at the latest. Instead, after I called the restaurant three times and was lied to about (1) where my order was, and (2) the fact that they were trying to call me (I didn’t get a single missed call), the restaurant canceled my order at 8:57pm. The restaurant staff was incredibly unprofessional and patronizing on the phone, blaming me for the order not being delivered when I’ve never had an issue from any other restaurant delivering to my address. We recently hosted our son’s first birthday party at F&J Pine, and everything was absolutely perfect. We worked closely with Aldi, who was so easy to work with—accommodating, responsive, and genuinely caring. He checked in with us often to make sure everything was going smoothly, even before the event. The entire staff was incredibly attentive from start to finish, always making sure we and our guests were well taken care of. One of the most thoughtful touches—they packed food for us to take home, knowing we’d be too busy hosting to sit down and eat during the party. The space was clean, the atmosphere was warm and friendly, and the food was delicious. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Highly recommend for any special event!

We had celebrated HS Reunion 50th Anniversary. The price we paid for the food in my opinion was over priced for 13. The food was not warm, the chicken Parmesan was over cooked and hard to cut, the ribs were not cooked properly and was not seasoned properly, the chicken wings and drumsticks were to myself ok. Overall, not the best place for me to eat there again. I travel a lot and I am a foodie, who likes to rate restaurants for their food, hospitality, etc. We decided to take a group picture and it cost a lot in my opinion with frame. One picture we took as a group, frame felled and broke and when requested to see if they could replace as a courtesy their response was no you have to pay for it again that is outrageous for the amount of money we paid for a group and their service was mediocre. One of my friends talked to the manager and the money paid extra was returned.Don’t think I would go back first and last time.

We had a party of eight to celebrate my step-dad’s birthday. He has dementia and aphasia, which makes it hard for him to communicate. Our server, Joseph, was nothing short of incredible. I cannot say enough about how kind, attentive, patient, and accommodating he was with our entire family. From the start, Joseph made us feel welcome and at ease. He was extremely knowledgeable about the menu, explained everything clearly, and offered thoughtful food and drink recommendations that turned out to be spot-on. He checked in regularly, made sure every detail was right, and handled everything with calm professionalism and genuine warmth, without being overbearing. At one point, there was a small issue with one of our meals, our fault not the restaurant. Joseph immediately took the initiative to speak with the chef, had the dish corrected, and brought it back quickly. He truly went the extra mile, and it made all the difference in our evening. The food was absolutely delicious, but it was Joseph’s service that stood out the most. His ability to balance efficiency, empathy, and hospitality was remarkable. He treated my step-dad with real care and respect, which meant more than I can put into words. If you’re planning a visit, do yourself a favor and ask for Joseph. He turned a special occasion into something even more memorable. We left not only full, but genuinely grateful for the experience. Ask for Joseph and tell him Raymond's family sent you!

We came to this restaurant as a party of seven, including two six-year-old children. Unfortunately, our experience was far from pleasant. To start, when we ordered our drinks, each of us ordered one drink, but our server, Mario, decided to bring two of each instead. When we told him we hadn’t ordered doubles, he insisted that he “heard correctly,” which was not true. He eventually took the extra drinks back, but the situation already felt uncomfortable. Next, we ordered food from the kids’ menu. In any decent restaurant, children are served first — that’s basic restaurant etiquette. However, the kids waited over an hour for simple pasta and spaghetti — something that takes about six minutes to cook. By the time the food finally arrived, they were already full from eating bread and didn’t even want it anymore. When I asked Mario why the children’s meals took so long, he said it was “completely normal” because the kids could eat mussels and calamari from the appetizers while waiting. I don’t know many six-year-olds who eat mussels and calamari — and certainly not mine. This experience clearly showed a lack of professionalism and understanding of basic restaurant etiquette. Children should always be served first, followed by the adults’ main courses. Perhaps I am used to dining at higher-end restaurants and expect a certain level of service, but this was simply unacceptable. A note for management: please educate your staff — especially Mario — on proper restaurant service standards and etiquette.

New American restaurant
Restaurant
Nestled within the NY Botanical Garden, Hudson Garden Grill offers a refined dining experience with picturesque views of the arboretum. Despite its small size, this restaurant is a popular choice for visitors seeking a memorable meal amidst the garden's beauty. The menu features American cuisine with carefully crafted dishes that may lean towards the pricier side but are well-received by patrons.
This was my first time visiting this restaurant, and I’m so glad we chose it for lunch! I came with my husband and was a bit nervous at first—it looked quite packed and I did not have a reservation. The hostess was incredibly accommodating and managed to seat us at a large table right away. She even apologized for the size of the table, but we actually love to sit side by side, so it worked out perfectly! We had initially asked to sit at the bar because it looked so cozy and had these beautiful orchids—definitely planning to sit there next time (and yes, this experience has already given me a reason to return!). I wish I remembered everyone’s names, because every staff member we interacted with—or even observed—was so warm, friendly, and welcoming. The hospitality here is truly unmatched. The menu had so many tempting options that I had a hard time deciding. I ended up ordering a vegan dish that sounded light and refreshing—but I have to admit, I ended up eating my husband’s cheeseburger and fries instead! It was absolutely delicious—100/10! Our waiter noticed that I was enjoying my husband’s meal more than mine and kindly offered to bring me another dish, but I was already so happy and content that I didn’t feel the need. To top it off, he offered us cocktails from the bar, which was such a thoughtful gesture. There also seemed to be a manager walking around constantly to check on guests and staff which I appreciated as going above and beyond. This gem provided a resort-like feel experience. Everything—from the service to the atmosphere—was simply amazing. I can’t wait to come back!

I visited 7 years ago with my mom and had the best experience. We even still cook a recipe from then, it was a thyme and honey goat cheese with grilled bread. Went back with my husband in August and it was a nice break before the Van Gogh show...but the food was gritty and unimpressive. The limeade was tasty. My husband enjoyed his burger. But the service was rushed and he seemed annoyed to be working, ha.

I made reservations and my husband and I were warmly greeted and seated. The food was delicious and they had pretty good portions for the meals. I would recommend the cod fish dish. The ambiance was my favorite- to dine surrounded by greenery. I think service can be improved. We waited a while before asking one of the servers for water and to place our orders and there wasn't much check in.

We celebrated our wedding anniversary here today and had a lovely experience. We reserved a table for two and took the train after work—about 20 minutes from Manhattan ($7+$7 ). The setting is quiet, the atmosphere is charming, and service was generally attentive. As vegetarians, we were happy to find plenty of options, and everything we ordered was delicious. We’re NYBG members and visit often, so we’d been wanting to try this spot. The only downside: they were out of sparkling rosé. 😢😢😢 We asked for an Italian sparkling brut but received Cava instead (which is Spanish), so I’d rate service a 4/5 for that mix-up. Otherwise, everything was great, and we’ll definitely be back. Beautiful place and a relaxing escape in the city.

Fantastic food, atmosphere and service. Beautiful restaurant in the magical NY Botanical Gardens. You can’t beat it for a unique NY experience. Great for a date, group of friends or family outing. You feel like you’re on a different planet far from the city. In December they have live music and holiday themed nights. Well worth the trip!

The Original Crab Shanty is a casual dining establishment known for its delicious seafood dishes and Italian cuisine. Located in a charming setting with a maritime theme, this long-standing restaurant offers generous portions of crab and other seafood delicacies. The building itself has an interesting history, formerly serving as a movie theater before being transformed into a post office. In 1977, the property was taken over by the current owners who turned it into the well-loved restaurant it is today.
Oh, the Baltimore Blue Crabs In A Garlic Sauce is the bomb; I always get it. That dish with New England Clam Chowder and a side of baked potatoes is the perfect combo. The rich flavors are so satisfying, and the garlic sauce is the best. Every time I go there, the service is always great, with friendly servers. DIVE SEAFOOD JOINT.

City Island is a Bronx stable in terms of seafood, Crab Shanty being a big factor. The place is a quaint and charming little restaurant that has both outdoor and insider seating. The outdoor facing the street let you taking in the charm of the island main street. Pricing is good, actually better then you'll expect, and once you consider the great food and portions you'll easily see that it worth it. The combos like Lobster and Shrimp for a little over $20 is insane really. The staff were pleasant, intensive, and patient. Food came in good time, and the over all vibe was calming and welcoming. Definitely a place to bring your family on a sleepy weekend at or after going to the beach.

I had an incredible dinner at The Crab Shanty in City Island! The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, with friendly staff who made us feel right at home. I ordered the filet mignon with lobster tail, and it was absolutely perfect—the filet was tender and cooked to perfection, and the lobster tail was buttery, fresh, and full of flavor. The portions were generous, and everything was beautifully plated. The service was attentive without being overbearing, and you can really tell they take pride in what they do. Whether you're a seafood lover or in the mood for a hearty steak, this place delivers. Definitely a must-visit if you're in City Island!

Anytime I’m in NY, I make it a point to stop by Crab Shanty, and last night’s visit did not disappoint. I wasn’t too hungry, but the $35.99 special was more than enough and such a great value. The special included a cluster of crab legs, a 4 oz lobster tail, fried shrimp, and a choice of soup or salad—I went with the Manhattan tomato-based soup. You also get to pick a side of rice, fries, potatoes, or linguine, plus complimentary garlic bread to start. The ambiance gives off a fun, ship-like feel, and I noticed they’ve even added a side patio for outdoor dining. Service was standard, but the food came out hot and fast, which I appreciated. Crabby Shanty has been a staple for me since childhood, and it’s amazing to see that even into adulthood, they’re still serving up consistently delicious seafood!

My first time here was amazing! Our food took a while to come out, but I was not disappointed once it did. Fresh, hot, and sooooo flavorful! Yummy. Our waitress was so sweet! I'm definitely coming back.

First and foremost shut out to Cisco our server who is very friendly, engaging and gave a great breakdown of the menu and what kind of deals to get and good job On upselling the drinks It was my first time trying crab legs and they have a great deal offering crab legs shrimp and lobster tails. Absolutely delicious. I always have to laugh at the Salad but the creamy Ranch was good, the crabcakes. were definitely small but seafood is very filling. My gf Enjoyed her drinks & The best part of going to his restaurants in city island is that they are deceptively large on the phone. It looks small, but when you enter and see all these booze and we were in a nice private booth, and it was outside seating area as well, that looks very comfortable. Sadly, I failed to get pictures of the outside of the establishment but I can take pictures of the food

Food was ok but not outstanding. Ive had more flavorful fried calamari. Shrimp was a bit overcooked and chewy. Fried clams looked like burnt bits. Best part of the meal was the garlic bread and baked potato. The Inside ambiance is meh so best to sit outside.

This restaurant serves Seafood, get the surf (leave the turf at Orchard Beach), ask for Sisco, and look no further. I went here on a Friday around 5pm. The free valet parking made me feel relaxed before I even entered the door. When I walked in I was instantly seated and served garlic bread in the form of an Italian loaf (which I ate every damn bite of). I ordered a Manhattan (served in martini glass) which all in all maybe could’ve used a touch more vermouth, not bad though. The extensive menu offered a plethora of options for all seafood cravers (at a good price). I ordered the fried calamari which was served with wedges of lemon and delicious marinara sauce and tartar sauce which whilst dipping the calamari I did not get anxious about running out of. I also was provided a very tasty creamy New England Clam Chowder as a side option. I initially ordered the prime rib medium rare and jumbo shrimp, while the jumbo shrimp tasted amazing… I took one bite of the prime rib (served with Ajou and medium rare as ordered) and truthfully was not impressed, HOWEVER, Sisco (Who I might add is a very attentive server, never felt rushed, and service must have been his mantra as prior to even ordering the steak provided the A1 Sauce without me even having to ask) asked me pretty shortly after getting the steak and not only completely understood that the prime rib wasn’t to my liking, he was able to switch me out for a Lobster Tail that was out of this world, served with dipping butter, it’s been two days and I still cannot stop thinking about that lobster tail. I finished my order up with some cheesecake, which not to be redundant… was on point. Be sure to tip the valet driver on the way out (which I add I did not feel any pressure to tip)! The Original Crab Shanty, I shall return!

Tra Di Noi is a charming family-owned Italian restaurant located on East 187th Street. The cozy and homey atmosphere, complete with red-checkered tablecloths, sets the stage for a delightful dining experience. Chef-owner Marco Coletta's personalized cooking offers classic Italian dishes along with daily specials like fusilli with fava beans and rigatoni in spicy amatriciana sauce.
If you can get in? Do it. We got in late Afternoon on a Saturday, and had a gorgeous and leisurely meal. Roman Artichokes, Osso Buco in risotto, linguine vongole, the best Pork Chop on the planet, and a Pappardelle with Truffle sauce that was OCF THE CHAIN delicious..... Absolutely incredible experience in the Arthur Avenue neighborhood.

Went here for the first time today to have a leisurely lunch with my parents. We sat by the window, so we got to take in Belmont’s street life while enjoying the best Italian-American food I’ve had since living in NYC. Everything was prepared simply and packed with flavor. The staff was very attentive, and the owners, who were both sitting in the dining room the whole time, were very welcoming.

Delicious and totally legit – I could eat here every day. The waitstaff are extremely attentive and knowledgeable. The old-school tablecloths and classic tunes create the perfect nostalgic vibe. Easy to hold a conversation, and overall a great experience every time. Whether you’re popping in for a quick lunch or kicking back for a chill dinner, Tra Di Noi always hits the spot. Totally worth it.

One of the all-around best places I've eaten in NYC. Order the specials. They have a basic regular menu, but the only dish I've ever seen at this place that was less than stellar came off the regular menu, and the specials are always delicious. I'm still hoping to someday again come across the thing I had with fava beans my very first time there. Used to live nearby and it took me a bit to get the hang of making reservations in advance, but they were always so kind and professional and found a way to seat us, even as they begged us to make a reservation next time (which we finally did). Staff still remembers us even though we moved boroughs and now only go every 8-12 months. Can't get there on public transit without transfers and walking, but yes, it's still worth leaving our borough.

Best authentic family owned restaurant. It never disappoints! Pork chops, rabbit and sole are a must. Order off the specials. Best simple marinara sauce, which says it all

We have been coming to Tra Di Noi for twenty years, usually for special family gatherings. I know of no other restaurant in NYC that has been so consistently excellent for so long. This is a mom and pop shop that with mom running the floor and pop running the kitchen. Old school charm. We came with a party of 12. For appetizers we ordered calamari fritti, mussels marechiaro, and the melon prosciutto. All delicious especially the calamari. For mains we had the soft shell crab, gnocchi, pork chop and sole meunierre specials as well as the veal scalloppine, polla scarpariello, rigatoni and linguine. House potatoes and string beans as sides. Everyone raved about their dishes. Dessert was equally fantastic including perfect Italian cheesecake! You need reservations during peak times. We love this cozy warm spot off Arthur Ave and will keep coming back as the food is to die for!

Lovely little , family-owned restaurant off Arthur Avenue. Prosciutto and melon appetizer was lovely as was the light tomato sauce on the aranciani. Main course was delicious, light gnocchi with just the right bite with a fresh tomato aauce. Service was welcoming and helpful. Highly recommend.

Not sure where to start so many things were off. The wait staff is very busy and not attentive at all. My friend and I ordered 2 appetizers and a lasagna. We were sharing all the dishes. This $61 order apparently was a huge disappointment to the staff. All 3 dishes were brought out at once as opposed to having appetizers first. We repeatedly asked for some bread and some lemons for the water. No lemons ever arrived and after 3 requests for bread we were told we did not order enough to warrant a piece of bread. We weren’t asked if we wanted desert and were just given the check. This is Arthur Avenue there are plenty of other better places to go to eat. Oh, the food, fried calamari was just average, salad also, the lasagna was good. It was very clear we were not wanted.
