State park
Nature & Parks
Bob Straub State Park, located on the Nestucca Spit, is a stunning coastal park offering over 480 acres of natural beauty. The park provides various recreational activities such as swimming, fishing, and horseback riding in the Pacific City area. It maintains a peaceful atmosphere by prohibiting camping, off-highway vehicles (OHVs), and bikes. Visitors can enjoy beach access, horse trails, and fishing while taking advantage of picnic areas and restrooms year-round.
Bob Straub is a great, little used multi-use park. I have been going for years. The beach has great shell finding opportunities. There are miles of trails for horses and people. The trails can flood in the winter. There are opportunities to see deer, seals, and sea birds. Beware of cougars and black bears.
Rain D — Google review
I've explored several trails here, but found it a bit challenging to walk on sandy paths. This time, I just went to the beach, and it was very accessible. Since it was a drizzly morning, there was no one around, so I could enjoy a peaceful walk and play with my dogs. It's a recommended spot, but there are only a few picnic tables on a small grassy area right in front of the restroom. Even on nice weather days, it might be a bit difficult to enjoy a secluded picnic.
Kai D — Google review
I visited on Sunday, July 21st, 2024... Nice park with a large parking lot and bathrooms. Just beware that the trails to the beach are natural sand and NOT paved. This could be a problem for some people with physical limitations. Or for those with a large cooler or beach supplies. * While not the fault of the park. The road leading into the park. Is rough asphalt with lots of pot holes.
Kolbe's T — Google review
Little to no signage, I didn't know where I was going. The pathways are eerie and way too sandy. Sure, it's a beautiful beach, but I won't return.
Rachael — Google review
Beautiful place but when you climb to the other side of the dunes by the beach it is a very steep way down and likewise back up. So we just stood at the top and enjoyed the ocean view from there. My dog wanted to run down the steep hill but as I explained to her she has four wheel drive and I have only 2.
Laurie R — Google review
Another beautiful beach in pacific city. It was beautiful out but windy and cold today. Got there at 11 am and the parking lot was empty, an hour later give or take it was full. Great beach to spend summer. It was so cool seeing horses on the beach 🤩. There are public restrooms. We absolutely love the Oregon coast 💜
Talia W — Google review
Beautiful open fresh ocean air! Horse riding close. You can drive on beach. You can find cool things! Not overly packed with people. Very long beach. Will come back again.
Jess “ — Google review
One of the interesting State Parks on the Oregon Coast located on the Nestucca Sand Split. You will find a nice long beach to walk on with great views of Haystack Rock and Cape Kiwanda in Pacific City. The Park offers a number of hiking trails that take you along the Nestucca River and the sand dunes. A popular place to ride your horse, launch your boat, go fishing, and have a picnic. Located in Pacific City with signage to the Park at the flashing four-way stop. The parking lot fills fast in the afternoon, and a county lot is also available with a ten dollar fee. A nice place to walk on the beach with great views, a number of activities to keep you busy, and several restaurants nearby.

Outdoor Activities
Beaches
Cape Kiwanda State Natural Area is a beachfront spot that offers a variety of activities such as hiking, picnicking, and fishing. The park features sandstone cliffs perfect for climbing and stunning views of the coast. It's also known for excellent surfing opportunities. In addition to outdoor adventures, visitors can explore the charming coastal town of Pacific City with its craft breweries, wineries, art galleries like Pacific City Gallery, and nearby wildlife refuge at Nestucca Bay National Wildlife Refuge.
Starting from the Thousand Trails campsite, I headed to Pacific City Beach with my three puppies. We climbed Cape Kiwanda Sand Dune and crossed to the other side, following the sand dunes to McPhillips Beach Access. This round trip was about 3.5 miles. It was a clear, sunny morning and took us roughly 1 hour and 30 minutes to return to the campsite. I recommend wearing a mask and hat if you walk on the sand dunes on a day with even slightly more wind than usual. The wind can whip up sand, which can get into your mouth, nose, and hair. This place is both beautiful and awe-inspiring.
Kai D — Google review
Came here with babies 10 years ago—returned last week with teenagers who claim they’re too cool for everything… until they saw the sand dunes. Suddenly, we had expert dune rollers and tide pool explorers again. Time may fly, but this place clearly hits the pause button. Still a family favorite—just with bigger shoes, louder opinions, and the same wide-eyed wonder. Shhh… don’t tell anyone. We’re pretending it’s still our secret spot.
Daryl C — Google review
One of our favorite places to go with kids and friends. It gets very popular on the weekends, consider going much earlier or much later in the day to avoid the high use time (10am-4pm). There is a lot to do and experience. If you are here first time and would like to get in the water, beware that Pacific ocean here is cold, always cold, don't matter what time of the year. Now, don't get discouraged - stop by local surf shop and rent a wetsuit, you won't regret it and will be able to enjoy playing with waves for hours. If a wetsuit is not your cup of tea, consider walking alongside the water, dipping your toes, hiking up cape Kiwanda sand hill with amazing view of the coast line or walking around dunes nearby. Bring a kite to enjoy and bring yourself back to childhood. Also check out tide pools by the cape base, but please, please, do not disturb wild sea creatures and do not walk over barnacles. When hungry, remember that waiting for an hour to get a table at the restaurant is guaranteed. Consider crossing the street and getting a sandwich from the local market.
Roman K — Google review
Beautiful beach with massive sand dunes and sea stacks just offshore. Excellent place to wander for an hour or two. A great blend of the rocky and sandy Oregon coast.
Kevin V — Google review
You can drive right down to the water here if you want. It's a nice, clean, and usually not too crowded place to hang out. My dog loves the beach, so we go as often as we can.
Brandy S — Google review
The beach area has easy access with your car or truck. We enjoyed the sand and the kids flew their kites. It was very scenic and peaceful.
Ted H — Google review
Ideal spot for a short weekend trip with family/friends. Perfect for activities, beach, sun, good food, nature, sightseen.

Such a beautiful place, amazing views of the cliffs, caves, dunes and the ocean. At the low tide you can find starfish and other creatures on the rocks. Free admission and parking lot in August.

Bakery
Breakfast restaurant
Grateful Bread Bakery is a cozy cafe in Pacific City, Oregon, featuring a Grateful Dead theme and stunning floor-to-ceiling windows offering sweeping views. Since 1991, this bright and relaxed spot has been serving up breakfast, lunch, coffee, and housemade pastries. Known for their fresh food made with locally caught fish and produce, it's a popular choice for visitors looking to enjoy delicious scones or grab a light lunch to take back to their vacation rental.
Our favorite for breakfast on the Oregon coast. They go out of their way to make things special. My delight is the French toast, that is out of the world, make sure you get real apple syrup to go with the fresh fruit compote, adds an extra Yum.
Ellen H — Google review
Food was amazing! Highly recommend stopping in to get anything on their menu, especially baked goods, to go! The service felt pretty slow on a Saturday morning but we could tell they were very busy and probably needed more people in the kitchen. The serving staff were friendly and again so busy. I thought the place would be quaint and cozy but shockingly loud with how many people were eating, the kitchen partly open, people waiting, and staff moving around. I would totally go back because the food was spectacular just try to time more off hours.
Emily J — Google review
We had a bit of a wait but was totally worth it. My husband and I shared the Dory cod, pineapple, purple onion, and cabbage wrap - it was so good! We also split a bowl of creamy chicken noodle soup with sourdough baguette slices. It was all very delicious.
Cheri M — Google review
Probably the best biscuits and gravy I've had anywhere on the Oregon coast. Western Omlete was also Amazing. They seemed a little short handed, so service was on the slower end. Make sure you put your name on the list if you're waiting on a table. Overall excellent nosh!
Victoria B — Google review
Such a cute idea! Our breakfast was great! I could try all the things here!
Shana F — Google review
I spent a few days recently staying nearby on the coast. Came here on a Thursday, ordered a tuna salad sandwich to go. The bread was fresh and the tuna as well. Although a little heavier on the mayo than I usually would prefer, overall an excellent meal. I will eat here again when I am in the area next. It’s busy, and I can see why.
Reed A — Google review
Be prepared for a long brunch. We came here on a Saturday morning. Waited about 20 minutes to get seated. It took another hour for our food to arrive. The parking is on a gravel alleyways. The food was good and the staff was friendly.
Rod E — Google review
Service is super friendly, coffee is great , and good God, the scones are good. The cherry almond scone is top-tier and they even do a biscuits and gravy with their savory scone which I had. 100% worth the drive out to visit, will absolutely be back soon.

Brewery
Pelican Brewing in Pacific City is a beachside taproom and restaurant that offers a variety of house beers along with delicious food options such as pizza, pasta, seafood, and brunch. The location provides a relaxed atmosphere where visitors can enjoy their meals while taking in the beautiful beach views. Additionally, it's a great spot to unwind with some drinks after spending time at the beach.
The food was great. I mean the server asked how I wanted to the burger cooked, I said pink and it came like that. So many restaurants now a days overcook the burgers. There is an open kitchen and everything look organized and clean. I seafood linguini was really fresh and my aunt liked it. The brownie was also quite delicious. I would come back! The bathrooms were very clean and I was impressed with how organized everything seemed.
Carla C — Google review
The food was okay. I had the shrimp tacos. I've had better, and I've had worse. They had a decent beer selection. I really enjoyed the blond stout. The view could not be better. Amazing location! We even spotted two whales while eating on the patio!
Chris R — Google review
This was a really great place. You can't beat the view. This was recommended to me and o can see why. The food was great, great quality, good flavor, I have to say some of my favorite fries is Oregon. We had some burgers and the ingredients including the beef are all locally sourced. It's a solid spot to check out.
Ronnie L — Google review
It is very enjoyable for me and my family every time we go here. The food is outstanding, the service is excellent, and we haven't had to wait very long to be seated during any of our dining experiencs their. The view of the ocean and surrounding beach is fantastic, and the atmosphere and esthetic are energetic and feel very contemporary. Check out the pictures of the food, i think those pictures speak volumes about this dining experience.
Lance F — Google review
We recently lunched here while vacationing in the area and enjoyed it! Realized it was a local chain the following day when we took a drive and noticed several other locations along the way! Lively atmosphere— would be great for families. They have a large patio overlooking the Pacific that was unfortunately full when we arrived so we took a table inside.
Catie R — Google review
This was one of the better restaurants we dined at during our stay at Pacific City. The staff were very friendly and the food came out fairly quickly. The salmon, spicy burger, and the chicken piccata were flavorful. However, our biggest complaint was that the food was extremely pricy. Our three entrees costed 100$. Though the food was tasty, it was not worth the price.
Ha D — Google review
Had an absolutely fantastic experience. Got sat fast, service was great. Our server was Jerry and he was on top of it! Made sure we had everything and did great. Food was spectacular as always. Best clam chowder ive ever had.
Hannah B — Google review
Stopped for lunch. I had calamari and clam chowder. They were both top notch. Finance has pretzels and cheese. Pretzels were just ok tasteing but the cheese was delicious. I had a beak breaker ipa, she had the Hefeweizen. Beer was excellent. What really separates this place from any other’s is the view. Pictures attached. We were inside but the outdoor patio is fabulous. One oddity, the bathrooms. The sinks are communal for everyone. Then there are doors for all single toilets. That everyone shares. While guys are used to this, most women are not used to sharing toilets with men they don’t live with. My finance was not a fan of the arrangement.

Coffee shop
Bakery
Stimulus Coffee + Bakery is a popular spot in Pacific City, Oregon, located across from the beach and Cape Kiwanda. It's a favorite among beachcombers looking to recharge with delicious espresso drinks or hot chocolate. The bakery offers an array of breakfast items such as pastries, waffles, omelets, and burritos. Additionally, it serves a variety of baked goods, sandwiches, snacks, classic and seasonal drinks.
Great latte and they were willing to try to do latte art for me and it came out great! I tried their chai tea also and that was good. I appreciated how they took time to answer my questions about their drinks and food and made sure I was satisfied. The food was also good. My family enjoyed the breakfast sandwich and we also tried an everything bagel with cream cheese that my husband enjoyed so much that he didn’t save any to share with me😂…we tried the quiche one morning and enjoyed that as well.
Patrice P — Google review
Charming seaside coffee shop! The interior is spacious and clean with a great view of the cape. The coffee is robust, but the pastries and food items leave room for improvement. Skip the coffee cake; it was underbaked, oily, and had a grainy texture. However, the cinnamon bliss pastry was delightful. Be prepared for high prices, with coffee costing between $6-10 and breakfast items priced from $5-14. Parking next door is convenient. This spot is perfect for an occasional seaside coffee indulgence or for settling in for an extended study session.
Sonia T — Google review
Great little coffee shop with lovely selection of pastries and seasonal beverages. Recommend getting here early in the day for pastries. The cannoli was yummy but a little soft by 10am. There is a fair bit of seating inside and a nice, airy feel. Parking can be challenging if you’re not waking over from the day use fee lot across the street.
Cate B — Google review
Really cute spot walkable to Pacific City Beach. They have an on-site bakery and the drinks + goodies we had both days were capital D-elicious— especially the jalapeño + cheese bagel with cream cheese! 🥯 My husband + I were recently vacationing in the area (early July 2025). Both times we were there the wait time was extremely long…🫣 I own a food service establishment and try to be as patience and understanding as possible and we went back a second time because , well, it’s one of very few options in the area but we truly enjoyed our order the first time 😊 Definitely don’t take our long wait times as a reason to skip out on this place though— I’ll be dreaming about that bagel and the almond cake for a long time!✨
Catie R — Google review
First time here and we thought it was great. It was very busy, but they were working very efficiently and I moved through pretty quickly, all things considered. Arrived around 9am on a Saturday and, indeed, the line was out the door, but I still made it to the ordering counter within about 10 minutes (I didn't actually time it, but I perceived it as pretty darn quick given the length of the line). After ordering, my wait was only about 5 minutes for a drip coffee, 20oz cold brew, 2 breakfast sandwiches, and a bakery dessert. The coffee and food were both great. Bonus: the breakfast sandwiches were larger than we were expecting.
Bobby D — Google review
I stopped by Stimulus for a a cozy experience, but I was really disappointed. The service was incredibly rude—the staff was rude, didn’t smile once and acted like I was bothering them by ordering. The coffee itself was even worse — bland, over -roasted, and just plain burnt. For a a cozy place nestled on the beach, it was surprisingly bad. The only saving grace was the pastries — they were actually really good and seemed fresh. But unfortunately, that’s not enough to make up for the poor service and terrible coffee. I won’t be coming back. Ps. I never got my vanilla cold foam
Shamilee C — Google review
A gem of a coffee shop right across the street from the beach access parking lot. You can even get views of the rocks and waves from seats in the dining area. Coffee is great, pastry was amazing after a long day in the car, and there were plenty of snack options for the family. We recharged and relaxed before heading down to the water to explore. Definitely worth a stop in before you get back on the road.
Matthew G — Google review
We drive down to Pacific city the day after the big storm to get a bite. We ordered the veggie flatbread, bacon and egg sandwich, iced mocha, coffee cake and cappuccino. The coffees were excellent. I especially loved my cappuccino and the coffee bean they use is spectacular. On the other extreme, the flatbread and coffee cake were disappointing. Sandwiches are premade, so expect to not be able to make substitutions. Also all vegetarian options are vegan, which is a bummer. Service is friendly and views of the ocean are great.

Mexican restaurant
Ben and Jeff's Burgers and Tacos is a classic, casual eatery that offers a variety of delicious options. Located near Pelican Brewery and Headlands Lodge, it's convenient for those staying in the area. The menu features fish tacos, burrito bowls, fish and chips, burgers, clam chowder with garlic bread, and breakfast burritos. Customers can also enjoy beer and wine to go.
Delicious beef burgers!! Omg they have huge burgers. I got a double, but should have done a single. Juicy greasy burgers with diced onions and melted cheese. These burgers are on the pricey side, but I would come back to get one of them again.
Cindy H — Google review
Orders are taken at the walk-up window and then you wait for your number to be called for pick-up (listen closely!)👂🏼 The patio only had 1 small picnic table so we took our tacos closer to the beach for a better view 🌊 We shared the grilled mahi mahi tacos and the grilled cod tacos. At $14 and $17 and for 2 relatively small tacos per order seemed a little steep. We realized after ordering that all sides were ala cart so it was literally just the 2 tacos each 🤔 We agreed that the mahi mahi was better (and more flavorful) than the cod but for the price, both were kind-of disappointing. It was mostly cabbage and pineapple and the corn tortillas tasted a bit raw/cold ☹️ I’ve since seen photos of others’ breakfast burritos that look phenomenal. If we’re ever back in the area we’ll give them a try for breakfast✨
Catie R — Google review
We grabbed a bite for dinner the night we arrived into town. You order from the walk-up window and wait for your order number to be called. There’s a very small patio to the back with I think only 1 picnic table, but we took ours to-go and ate closer to the beach. We shared 2 Grilled Mahi Mahi Tacos + 2 Grilled Cod Tacos 🌮🌊💥
Catie R — Google review
2 flavorless tacos for $18. Thats $9 a taco. Hubby got a beans rice and cheese, burrito with added carne asada and it was white rice, whole black beans, mozzarella cheese and a sprinkling of carne asada. Zero flavor. Waste of $40. Terrible food.
Chelsie K — Google review
Don’t let the name fool you—they serve excellent breakfast burritos until 11. The chorizo burrito, made with local Zenner’s chorizo, is packed with flavor and definitely worth trying. Great food, great quality!
Anthony Q — Google review
We've eaten here the last two times visiting Cape Kiwanda. What a prime location. We visited during the surf competition, and it was perfect to grab some tacos and head down to the beach. The grilled fish tacos were perfect. It's not cheap, but what is? Given the location it totally makes sense. And the vibes were perfect.
Steph L — Google review
The food is SO tasty and fresh!! We ordered a mix of different items, including a cheeseburger, some kids meal items, the delicious clam chowder, and my personal favorite: the Baja halibut tacos. I’m fairly picky with my seafood, and I had absolutely no complaints!! And the staff was so friendly!! Hope I get to eat here one more time before my trip is done.
Rachel G — Google review
Demeanor of order-taker was of doing us a favor. Four of us each had a lunch plate of either fish tacos or fish bowls with a warm white sauce on rice; one of us had a beer and the rest water. Shop is on the main road with no ocean view and a couple of picnic tables. Food was okay (two of us had intestinal illness the next day but not certain of what caused it), $105 for a self serve taco stand. Next time to this beautiful beach we'll bring our lunch.

Beach
Pacific City Beach is a stunning destination on the Oregon Coast, offering a range of activities and natural beauty. While getting there from Portland may require renting a car, the coastal drive allows for exploration of charming towns like Cannon Beach and Manzanita. The beach itself features tide pools at low tide and nearby McPhillips Beach offers a quieter alternative. Visitors can enjoy various activities such as surfing, fishing, beachcombing, and even driving on the sand in designated areas.
This is a key location in Pacific City. Cars are always parked here regardless of the weather, and most people enjoy the beautiful scenery. Additionally, you need to park here to climb Kiwanda Dune. Although it is a fee area requiring $10.00 for parking, it was rare to see people actually paying.
Kai D — Google review
Beautiful beach with a haystack rock and sand dunes. We had fun climbing up and down the sand dunes and enjoyed the views. You can drive onto the beach as well
Amber L — Google review
Beautiful beach. Not too windy due to dunes. No cars on the sand on the left. The only cars are on the boat launch side. We love the soft sand and small waves. Great for body boarding. It is very cold though in the water. Would highly recommend bringing a wet suit.
Elizabeth R — Google review
Top beach to bring your family for a good time and home of the climbing dune! The kids love exploring also, and it was just such a good time every time we come here. Everyone here is respectful and kind. We brought our dog this time, and he was the star of the day. Other dogs from all types are well-behaved also. The beach is probably one of the best for having hot showers! And super clean. I was impressed. The parking cost is fair ( $10), and I felt super safe, which is important, I feel like for families nowadays. The Pelican Brewing Restaurant is always popular and a good place to enjoy some drinks and food! Will be back.
Supreme S — Google review
We went Sunday July 20th and it was the busiest ive seen here in Oregon(born and raised in California) but still pleeeenty of open areas to set up chairs and a blanket. Most dogs were on leash (thankfully), huge sand hill for kids/adults to snowboarding down, lots of skim boarders, several trying to surf but waves were maybe 3ft at the highest and mose were on long boards or paddle boards. Windy enough for kites but not cold until maybe 6pm
Stephanie M — Google review
Absolutley gorgeous beach with a sand dune you can climb! It’s steep but worth it— the views from the top are breathtaking 🤩
Catie R — Google review
A beautiful beach on the opposite side of large sand dunes in Pacific City, showcasing the gorgeous fake Haystack rock, and what remains of Edith Kiwanda. 😏 Looking south on this beach you will see Cascade Head, which is the landmass that separates the north coast from the central coast, and Neskowin (the next town south) from Otis, The Salmon River and Lincoln City. A short walk or drive south on the beach you will find Bob Straub State Park, formerly known as Nestucca Spit State Park, along the Nestucca Spit. On the other side of the bay mouth you have Nestucca Bay National Wildlife Refuge. This is a perfect beach to relax and enjoy yourself picnicking, beachcombing, surf fishing or standing in the surf. Not too busy, likely due to the price tag attached to visiting here, as it has as ridiculous day use parking fee of $10, which I had no idea before I pulled in and promptly did not pay... As everyone else there that day did as well. But don't get me ranting about Oregon charging their own residents a ever increasing amount just to visit our own state parks... Perhaps a video on that will be coming soon on either Trippin' Outdoors or TheCriminalViolin, my YouTube channels that such a video would fit on. There is a outhouse here as well, but it was easily the worst or second worst OH I've ever been in before. They clearly do not maintain that enough, likely intentionally and I have a theory of why that is. Perhaps that'll also turn into its own video. I think it's a interesting strat of Pacific City if the theory is presumed correct. Ignoring the price and the crappy (literally) OH, this is a great beach, and gets 5/5 stars. If you include those two aspects, this is easily a 2.75/5 star beach.

I love this beach! I've been here multiple times in the last couple of years, and it's always a lovely place to visit. I will admit, it is a very popular beach so there are usually lots of people here and parking can be hard to find on busy weekends. But the "hike" up the dune is fun, and there are always nice views from the top! I brought the dog once and had no issues with sand fleas like pups occasionally get on Oregon beaches.

Pacific City Fishing, located in Oregon, offers an exciting fishing experience with professional guide Mark Lytle. Using the historic Dory boat, visitors can fish for a variety of species including ling cod, dungeness crab, salmon and bottom fish off the stunning Cape Kiwanda. The launch and landing experiences are described as treats by previous visitors who highly recommend excursions with Mark. Proper clothing and a positive mindset are recommended for a successful trip.
Captain Mark and his deck hand Buddy were absolutely fantastic! We fished and crabbed on 07/26/24 from his Dory boat. We absolutely slayed it! Because of their Knowledge of the fishing grounds, we were catching fish immediately once the boat stopped after a short hop out from the surf. Their gear is top notch and my group wanted for nothing during the day. Mark knows exactly what you need for what you’re fishing for. We ended the day at his shop and met his lovely wife, where they filleted our fish and steamed our crabs. I’ve never had crab straight out of the ocean and from the steamer on the same day. We each ate fresh caught crab until we were full and took the rest home. They professionally vacuum sealed all the fish. Normally fishing is over priced and rarely pans out. Pacific City Fishing was worth every penny for the fishing experience of a lifetime. We will be back!

What a great experience! This company really cares for its clients. We went out caught some cod and rock fish and pulled up some crab. Mark and staff then cooked the crab and boy was it off the chain. They also filet the fish and vacuum seal it for you to go. Definitely best in the business. Thanks for the special day and some good ole southern hospitality.

Our group of 4 had a wonderful crabbing excursion with Captain Mark and first mate Buddy. Perfect weather and brought back all the crab we could possibly want. We had the added bonus of drifting around with a surfacing pack of humpback whales. Thanks to Linda for planning a smooth trip - and Willow for helping with videos and adding a touch of youth to the crew!

If I could give 10 stars I would!!! Mark was fantastic! Friendly, funny, and just an all around great guy. AND we caught fish!! My first Dory boat trip was everything I thought it would be. I plan to make it an annual trip with my sons and grandsons.

Mark and Buddy worked hard for us and put us on crabs and fish. Comfortable boat. Nice processing of fish and crabs at their shop after we came in.

10 out of 10 Oregon experience! My son and I had a blast with Mark and Buddy! We had never been fishing on the Ocean before, and they taught us everything we needed to know with incredible patience and humor. A beautiful day we will remember forever

An adventure, for sure! From the Dory launch, to the landing- you are in for a treat. We would definitely recommend an excursion with Mark and we will be back for a second round when we are back on the coast. In order to ensure a great time, read the information provided and set yourself up for success with the right clothing (rain gear!) and the right mindset. Mark will make sure you have an amazing time and get a great catch! We walked away with a bakers dozen of fish and way more crab than we anticipated. Thanks Mark & Linda, for the great time.

Green Acres Beach & Trail Rides offers an exciting opportunity for visitors to enjoy horseback riding on the beach. The location provides various trails that showcase stunning scenery, including a trail leading to the Nestucca Bay National Wildlife Refuge. Riders of all experience levels, including beginners, can partake in this activity. The facility is conveniently situated near the beach, allowing riders to immediately embark on their journey through dunes and along the shore.
Highly recommend this place if you are looking to ride horses on the beach! The barn area is right next to the beach so the moment you get on the horse you are immediately walking over the dunes and onto the beach. We had a full hour of walking on the beach and through the dunes! They had the perfect horse for my 8 year old niece who is an inexperienced rider and kept her on a lead line for a majority of the ride to ensure her safety and then allowed her to ride independently at the end of the ride. The horses are calm and well trained. They weren’t bothered by barking dogs or other things occurring on the beach. FYI for those expecting to go faster than a walk: We were not allowed to trot, canter, or gallop on the beach. I was told that this was for our safety and the safety of the horses for fear that they could trip in a hole since the sand can be uneven and their hooves can get caught in the wet sand. If you have a morning ride time I recommend staying in Pacific City the night before so you do not miss your ride time. I would definitely recommend this for both beginner and expert riders!!
Amanda S — Google review
We had a great time! The location of the ride is incredible, and we were lucky to have a beautiful sunny day at the end of March. Although we didn't get to trot the ride was nice going down the beach and back through the dunes and the horses were all well behaved. The staff were all very nice and helpful. If you're looking for a beach ride, this is a great place.

Went here for a bucket list adventure and the only bad thing about it was that I should have booked a 2 hour ride instead of 1 hour.. It was such a great experience and I think everyone should do this at least once in a lifetime.. The horse was so beautiful and well mannered and the guide was very friendly and helpful.. Wish I could have gotten more pictures..

Green Acres is the BEST place to ride a horse on the entire Oregon Coast!!! They are so friendly, give clear instructions, and make sure that everyone has a good time! Their horses are the sweetest & they have a horse for every experience level. I rode with them in 2018 and today.

Beautiful beach with picturesque giant rock in the ocean! The sunset was magical. Quaint beach town. We took a walk and happened upon the local free petting zoo that had camels, deer, and horses, etc. $100/hr for a guided horseback ride on the beach. Very peaceful and beautiful town!

I was just browsing through my pictures from a vacation back in 2015 and was thinking fondly of the beach ride we took. I realized that I never wrote a review of the company that provided such a great time! It's been three years, so I don't remember any names (except for my horse, Tiny). But Green Acres was a blast! The staff was very friendly and personable. The horses were all kind, gentle, and healthy. Our guide was fun and her dog accompanied us the whole way. It was fun to watch the little scamp chase the seagulls on the beach. All-in-all, I would say the experience offered was well worth the cost. You won't be disappointed if you take a ride with Green Acres!
Matthew K — Google review
The riding experience on the beach was incredibly fun and memorable! We had a great time taking in the scenery. I would definitely come back to do it again. My only concern is that children run the facility so I'm not sure they're able to make the best decisions when it comes to the overall health of the horse and the safety of riders. That day I was paired with Jet and I realized that something was wrong when I heard the two girls working there whispering and looking at each other. I asked one of them if Jet was okay to ride and she said yes that she was just sore. Once I got on Jet, I tried to calm her down by petting her and I could tell that she didn't want to go on the ride. She would fall behind and then trot to catch up probably making her injury worse. Again, throughout the ride I would pet her to make her feel reassured. By the end of the ride she was irritated and trying to fight other horses while I was on her and she walked towards her corral letting me know she was done for the day. I kept calm the entire time as I have had lessons prior but if an inexperienced rider would have been paired with her, it could've been a lot worse. I would give this place 5 stars but after looking back, I realized that the overall health of the horse should be a priority. I don't know much about horses or riding but putting someone on an injured horse is dangerous. Although this did happen, we still had a great time and would recommend it to family and friends.

What an amazing and fun group! And the people were wonderful too LOL We took our daughter on her first ride ever and it was fabulous. I highly recommend. The Oar House Bar & Grill in Pacific City, Oregon is a popular spot known for its diverse menu and emphasis on fresh seafood options, including crab. Situated right on the harbor, this combination pub and restaurant offers a variety of dishes such as double cheeseburgers, cod fish and chips, grilled cod, prime rib on weekends, Steak Chimichurri, Pork Shank & Fettuccine.
We chose this place because it was away from the hustle and bustle of the larger restaurants. This was perfect! Service and employees were friendly and welcoming! This is our new stop through restaurant. Food was delish! Hidden gem*

They had a good bourbon selection and also had a dish I've never eaten before. I believe it was elk, chorizo, and Italian sausage over large rigatoni and some garlic bread. We would definitely come back here.

We were exploring new areas of the coast that we've never been, and stumbled upon this lovely little spot in Pacific City. The fish and chips, steamer clams, and ahi tacos were all wonderful. Our server Anthony(?) was also awesome.
Amy B — Google review
The food was good. I had fish & chips and clam chowder, in the dining room. Although they were short staffed that night my order was taken promptly and my food was served in a timely manner. The fish was crispy outside and moist inside; but I thought the breading was a little bland. The fries (chips) were good, well seasoned and enjoyable. But the real winner of the meal was the chowder. It was top notch; had a smoky flavor, the classic were tender and tasted fresh, and there were pieces of real celery and bacon, which was a surprise and very pleasant. This is now one of my 3 favorite clam chowders on the Oregon Coast. On a subsequent day I ordered the same with onion rings substituted for the fries. It did not change my opinion of the fish or the chowder. I was disappointed with the onion rings, they were soggy and cold. I do take into consideration it was takeout. But I will say they were well seasoned and very savory, if I had them right from the kitchen and hot, they might be good. As for the atmosphere it is a basic sports bar concept. The dining room is small, so there could be a wait on a busy night, but I found it comfortable and I did not find it noisy either time I was there.
Cecily B — Google review
We had a wonderful lunch here on their patio. Their corn chowder is extremely flavorful, and we were lucky to get the osso bucco before they ran out. This was a gem for sure on our trip to the coast.

Get the Lasagna!!! We have been eating seafood all week, so I asked the wait person what locals eat. She recommended a few things, and the house made Lasagna with red sauce stuck in my head. It was the right choice. Next time we are in Pacific City, I'll have to come eat here again for sure.

my partner and i are currently in a relentless pursuit of the best fish and chips dish along the coast of oregon, which has been quite a caper indeed. having eaten a cornucopia of fish and chip facsimile, i was well-prepared to conduct another investigation here at the oar house bar & grill. we ordered the clam chowder and caesar salad, as well as the tuna poke. as luck would have it, i wore my new blue shirt purchased from a near-out-of-business adventure outfitter and was comfortable in my seat throughout the lunch. we had been sat on the patio, where a stiff breeze blew. or, is it in the patio amidst the resolute winds? the restaurant is located on the far side of the road from the river, but you can see a red canoe go by if you look for it.
Mr. F — Google review
After a disappointing experience at a restaurant across the street, we decided to give this place a try—and wow, are we glad we did! Everything about this dining experience was exceptional from start to finish. The food was absolutely amazing. Every single person in our group walked away impressed and satisfied. Not one dish missed the mark. The oyster shooters were massive and packed with flavor—definitely a standout. For the quality and portion sizes, the prices were more than fair. You really get incredible value here. What truly made the night memorable, though, was the outstanding service. Our server, Rebecca, was phenomenal—genuinely kind, attentive, and knowledgeable. She made us feel right at home and took the entire experience to another level. The wine selection was also excellent and perfectly paired with our meal. This restaurant far exceeded our expectations and completely turned our vacation dining experience around. We ended up coming back multiple times. Highly, highly recommend!

Twist Wine Company/Basket Case Wines is a family-owned vineyard that believes in making wines from grapes grown in climates similar to their genetic history. Their wine is produced in McMinnville, Oregon and served at their Pacific City tasting room. The indoor area is spacious with both large and small tables, while outdoor seating offers a sunny and mostly wind-protected spot. Visitors can enjoy a wine flight of 4 wines for $10, with an additional complimentary pour.
Lovely place! Place your order inside at the bar - they are dog friendly on their back patio (on leash) but no dogs inside per food laws so be sure to keep your pup outdoors! All their wines are locally made in McMinville - there are fantastic descriptions on the menu to help you make your choice or there is a flight of local favorites available if you aren’t sure. All wines are available by the glass or by the bottle. The menu has some light tasty snacks to choose from. They also have some beers available in case not everyone in your group is a wine lover - a great selection and even some available to go (in addition to wine of course!). There is also a fun selection of mostly local sundries and gifts. Service is stellar - really wonderful folks who are helpful and knowledgeable beyond measure - thank you so much for making this such a great experience! 💜🐶

We come here every time we are in town. They have done a great job with their wines. The sparkling Syrah is by far our favorite. The atmosphere is very relaxing. Their collection of prepackaged, specialty goods is top-notch. The eclectic sense of humor is really awesome.

My husband and I have been looking forward to visiting Twist, but put it off for a while due to COVID. We found that they offer outdoor seating in a sunny spot that is mostly protected from the wind so we gave it a shot. The indoor area is large enough to hold several tables, 2 or 3 of them for large groups, and about 6 fitting groups of up to 4. It is bright and airy. I chose a wine flight of 4 wines for $10 and (as most places do) they also provided one more on the house. My husband picked out a beer on draft (Bouy Cream Ale). We both enjoyed our selections! I ended up ordering a glass of their 2020 Shy Chenin - Sparkling Syrah, while my husband had a glass of Bend Brewing Co’s Killer Stashe Pale Ale. We enjoyed it all so much that we brought a guest on our next trip and plan to return with more friends soon. You can order small plates if you want ranging in price from $8-$16.

Enjoyed sitting outside in the outdoor seating area (stools and wine barrel tables) on a fine sunny day. Hubby and I shared the wine flight, Boneyard Pilsner and the Roasted hazelnut & red pepper dip with chips. All we're really tasty, especially enjoyed conversing with vintner Chenin and hearing some of the history behind Twist Wines. Ended up buying a few bottles to go we enjoyed them so much.

We love Twist, Chenin and Sean are fantastic hosts and the Sangria is amazing! Twist has a great selection of beer and craft delicacies as well, I picked up some cheese curds and smoked paprika the other day and both are delicious! The vibe inside is cool and comfy. Then there is the outdoor patio, our favorite with our dogs on a sunny afternoon for a little sangria sippin.

We visited from Tierra Del Mar for a birthday. They accommodated 10+ of us all doing a flight tasting of the wines they make. They also brought us out a special pour for our flight! Excellent cheese and meat boards too. Great service- a must stop! They have awesome brews on draft and in the cooler to take to go. Can buy packs or singles. Of course they also sell the wines they make!

I wanted to surprise my wife for her birthday with the beach ride that she’s had on her bucket list for quite some time. Twin Creeks did not disappoint, and we had a great time. Our guide was knowledgeable, patient and honestly made the ride a lot of fun. I rode Moose and my wife rode Colonel, our horses were fantastic. Twin Creeks Beach and Trail Rides was absolutely amazing. We had a group of 6 and everyone had an absolute blast. Jeff and Tina were amazing with navigating the booking process and very responsive. Upon arrival, it was a quick sign in process and then Tina gave a detailed explanation on how to ride and a safety briefing. All of the horses were well trained and everyone felt very comfortable. There were two tour guides for our hour beach ride; one leading the group and one assisting the horses near the end and also took pictures using one of the groups personal phone to ensure to capture the moment. All and all, an amazing experience! We'll definitely book again next time were in the area.

My sister and I took our kiddos out on this as a special excursion during a family reunion trip at the coast. The kids had a blast! Most of us had ridden at least once before and were fairly comfortable on the horses. My niece had never been on a horse and she was very brave- her horse Bella likes to lag behind then trot a bit to catch up! We enjoyed a half hour walk on the beach and then a half hour up the dunes and back through some forest. Responsive horses, beautiful atmosphere- a bit pricey but a lot of fun and a great coastal experience! Would highly recommend for anyone who has ridden a horse before- or brave first timers.

Loved the experience!! They care about their 13 horses and have a easy gentle comradely with each other. They gave info about the area and explained everything. Realized after though, that my stirrups were too low. The grass/dunes we're pulling my legs awkwardly. I'm a rookie and didn't know to ask for them a big higher and just plain didn't realize. I didn't feel as secure in the saddle as I'd like. Next time I'll know. Next time, I'll ride with them again too.

WOW!! This ride was so amazing! They are very professional, they were very thorough with their instructions and directions, and made everybody feel very comfortable on the horses, no matter what our level of expertise was. The place on the beach that we took the horses was just stunningly beautiful, we got to ride them on the beach and then up on the dunes and all the horses are very well trained and it was just a great experience

Pacific Coast Candy is a family-owned confectionery situated in the picturesque coastal town of Pacific City, Oregon. It offers an assortment of saltwater taffy, bulk confections, and specialized chocolates. Additionally, they stock Tillamook ice cream which is highly regarded. This establishment is more than just your average candy store; it holds great significance as a cherished family business. It houses a vast array of nostalgic childhood candies alongside newer offerings and provides a delightful experience for all who visit.
This place has a great selection of obscure candies, classic faves, beverages, a taffy bar, and a bulk options wall! Oh, also tons of individual, artisan chocolates and seafoam, etc. I didn’t try it but they also have ice cream. I love to support small businesses and these guys should not be missed if you are in the area.

Kilo (sorry if I got spelling wrong) my surf lesson instructor gave me a key life memory. I was born and raised in Oregon and grew up swimming in the frigid Oregon ocean water, but always felt surfing was an activity you had to fly half way across the world to experience. Nah, just a 1.5 hour drive and a chill surf shop in Pac City and you can get pitted :). I had no excuses not to try it and Kilo didn't let me make any excuses while trying it. Exhausted with a smile permanently stuck to my face. Thank you Kilo and thank you Moment Surf Co. You do Oregon surfing (chef kiss emoji)

Fantastic experience at the beach in Pacific City at Moment surf shop! I took my eight-year-old grandson there for a surf lesson. I wasn’t expecting too much success because of my own experience surfing many years ago and knowing how difficult it was. However, Deklyn, the instructor had my 8 year old grandson riding waves standing up within minutes!! He had a great experience and it was a wonderful confidence builder. I think he has a new hobby for life. Thanks to the wonderful people at Moment Surf Shop for helping create these memories. Great “moments!”

We hauled in 4 kids with us and figured they would be annoyed.. it was the opposite, they entertained us trying on hats from high up and the kids trying on different pairs of glasses. Highly recommend this store, it’s got a great vibe and adds to the overall awesomeness of Pacific City!

Breakfast restaurant
Nestled in the heart of Pacific City, Village Coffee Shoppe is a charming and cozy corner cafe that exudes a vintage-inspired ambiance. The decor creates a nostalgic atmosphere, reminiscent of stepping back in time. This local gem offers an array of classic homemade breakfast dishes alongside their signature coffee drinks. Whether you're craving American breakfast classics or homemade baked goods, this quaint spot has something for everyone.
This little coffee shop is my favorite place to eat in Oregon. The ladies that work here are wonderful! Bring my family to eat their amazing burgers, giant country fried steak and pancakes. Remember to bring cash and if you forget there's an ATM across the street. Definitely recommend!

Wow!!! This food was amazing and just hit the spot on a cold, rainy afternoon! I got the Denver omelette and my husband got the giant chicken fried steak. They both came with such savory, perfect hash browns and we got sour dough and cinnamon raisin toast on the side. My mouth is so happy!

I walked from my hotel on a Friday morning for breakfast at this small classic diner and bakery. It was busy and I was seated after a short wait. I reviewed the menu and ordered the three Pancakes Special with sausage links and one egg. The menu inculdes French Toast, omelets, steak and eggs, and much more. I ate a pastry and received my order in about fifteen minutes with no problems. The pancakes were light and fluffy with good taste. The egg and sausage links had good taste and were not overcooked. Located on Brooten Road in Pacific City past the Shell station with limited parking. Cash and check are the only forms of payment accepted. A nice place to have breakfast with friendly service, good food with lunch options, and a classic diner vibe.

This is a small breakfast/ lunch place. You may have to wait for a table but it's worth it. We had breakfast there. Eggs, tasted like Mom made them, and raisin toast. It was very good. They have much to select from! Service was very good.

This place was incredible. Been to PC two other times and never stopped here. Now I have fomo for what I have missed. Everything was delicious. Like the food I remember my grandma making. Not fancy, just plain good!!

Very good chicken fried steak. Bring cash though. They don't take credit cards. Had to leave my daughter while I ran home and got cash. Was a little disappointing to do that to her during a special breakfast. That said the food was good and the service was pleasant. Very small dining area.

What a hidden gem. We stopped in here for breakfast. It was an absolutely amazing experience. Servers we're super kind, amazing and friendly. Cute regular locals get their own coffee cups. Quaint spot, with fun decor for Valentine's day, Pastry display had me drooling. My boyfriend and I had breakfast. Food was fast, hot and just scrumptious! Coffee was hot and topped off accordingly. What an amazing experience. Go support local! You won't regret going here!!!

This place accepts cash or check ONLY!! This is why I have it 4 stars rather than 5. I did not know this until we were eating and luckily we had just enough cash on us to cover the meal. I am a credit card person who doesn’t carry that much cash with me. There was no sign on the door that it was a cash only place. I noticed a tiny sign on top on the cash register after we started eating. Now onto the food. Food was good. Prices are GREAT. You get a decent amount of food with your order. Coffee was okay. Standard restaurant quality. It’s a small place with indoor and outdoor seating. We drove 18 miles to eat here and were very happy with our order. The staff were friendly and wonderful. I ordered a cinnamon roll to go and once I got home I ate it and it was the best cinnamon roll I have ever eaten. They make their pastries AND bread in house. Worth the drive if you are with in a hour from this cute little restaurant.

The Riverhouse Nestucca in Pacific City is a popular dining spot offering Northwest-coast-inspired cuisine with a seasonal, locally sourced menu. Overlooking the Nestucca River, this casual dining house provides custom cocktails and a selection of beer and wine, including wines from Twist Wine Company. The restaurant's specialty is seafood paella, and guests can enjoy gourmet selections while taking in the scenic river view.
My husband I had heard wonderful reviews about The Riverhouse Nestucca. I made a reservation for Friday at 5pm via a message. They called me back the same day during business hours to confirm. We were allowed to choose our table so we sat with a window facing the river. It was just before sunset and the river was a pleasant view to see. Honestly everything on the menu sounded fantastic. The staff were all outstanding as was the food. Everything was fresh, vibrant and so delicious. This meal was a wonderful treat for us and we plan on going back to explore some other dishes.
Nikole F — Google review
Our server Ryan was excellent as was our food and wine. We had the Ahi Poke Bowl and the Salmon. Highly recommend and will definitely be back when in town.
Cecilia S — Google review
The Riverhouse was a nice experience! All of the staff we encountered was kind and enjoyable to be around. I had a glass of Pinot Gris and ordered the Cioppino, which was so good! The seafood was cooked perfectly and the broth had good veggies and flavor. I only wish there was a little more crab!! I was really impressed with the food quality and would recommend this spot if you're in Pacific City. It's small so reservations are probably a good option so you get a spot. We made reservations the day of and the hostess was sweet! Good experience overall!
Corinne H — Google review
The service here was awful. We ordered drinks, didn't come until we reminded him twice. Wrong entree served, but was corrected. We got asked three times if we wanted dessert, the last two times he had already taken our card and then didn't cash us out until we stood there waiting by the table for like 10 minutes. With that said, the food was delicious, I would return again, but ask for a different server. I definitely recommend calling for a reservation.
Richelle K — Google review
This restaurant was absolutely incredible. We visited here on our trip from Colorado and this meal was easily the very best we have had on our trip. The clam chowder is bursting with flavor, oh so good! I had the fried ling cod which was amazing. The cod was so buttery, just really a treat. My wife had the fish tacos which were especially fresh with the vegetables, just delicious. Dessert was very special, homemade cheesecake brownie. Our server Nicole took such great care of us! Thanks to all the staff here for making this such a lovely meal! Very grateful.
Keith B — Google review
I’m just a girl from Wisconsin that loves great hospitality and delicious food…and the Riverhouse had exactly that! We ended up here by chance at the end of our 17 hour travel day and boy did we luck out! As soon as we walked in and smelled the aromas from the kitchen and saw how busy it was, we knew we were in for a treat. The hostess was incredibly friendly, handled the stress of a busy turn over of tables well, and went above and beyond to chat with us and serve us a glass of wine while we waited. Our server was equally as great- down to earth and prompt. After solid recommendations we ended up enjoying a cup of chowder (YUM!), a crab roll and the salmon. All of it was 10/10. We were so impressed by the freshness and quality of the food. It was clear that our meals were prepared to order and made with care. We would go back in a heart beat. We absolutely suggest this as a stop to anyone in the area!
Ashley M — Google review
The food and service were outstanding. I recommend making a reservation because this place is so good that there can be a long (but worth it) wait to be sat. The staff was knowledgeable and personable and very efficient. If we're in the area again this is where we want to go. This restaurant is a little more upscale and pricey but it has amazingly fresh, local ingredients and a nice wine list. White we waited for our table literally every table that left was raving about how good the food is so this wasn't just my husband and I who were so impressed with this place. Enjoy your visit, it's well worth it.
Jessica D — Google review
Buzzy (and busy!) little seafood spot. About a dozen tables so the 6 top took a long while to be seated (to be fair we didn't want the first table offered, by the entrance), but Steve (the owner, we're guessing) kept us well hydrated while we waited. Reservations definitely a must. The food was generally outstanding with the scallops and risotto, and the ciopino standouts. The lobster Mac was a bit of a let down (too dry, too much pasta). Decent wine selection at a fair markups. Lucy, Charlize (sp?) and her team were great, working a very crowded floor. Do yourself favor and go to this little local gem over the fancy joint at the Meridian.

Friendly, knowledgeable, attentive staff made our tandem kayaking experience great for the two hours we spent on the water. We used a penguin paddle kayak. We got a great lower body work out. We had a great stay at this RV park! The grounds are well-maintained and the atmosphere is peaceful. The staff has been incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our visit, which really made us feel welcome. The only minor downsides were that one side of the shower wasn’t working and the hot tub jets weren’t functioning properly. Other than that, everything else has been wonderful. Would definitely recommend and would stay again!
Victoria R — Google review
We booked this for an anniversary celebration. We were not able to specify which trailer site we wanted and were given a random site off in a corner next to a couple of their rental trailers. All gravel and so close to the rental trailer we could only use one side of the picnic table. The closest women’s bathroom had 2 toilets, one positioned so close to the wall and toilet paper dispenser you had sit sideways to use it. The other didn’t flush properly. Floor was dirty, bathroom door looked disgusting. Approaching the bathroom, cigarette butts were thrown everywhere. Overall the place was worn out and dirty. Nice amenities for kids. Closeness to the beach and restaurants a plus. For the money spent, I expected more. The campground down the road is in better condition and a lot cheaper. I will think hard about staying here again.
Thomas M — Google review
Absolutely not worth the almost $1000 cost for a 3 night stay. The online photos are very misleading. Very disappointed. Drove 4 hours for a vacation we had been looking forward to for several months, only to be given an extremely dirty airstream( had not been cleaned from previous guests). Staff did not seem shocked and were only mildly apologetic. We were told they were having a hard time with their housekeeping staff, which was made obvious throughout our stay. In fact, our original airstream unit was not cleaned until the next day. We were given a second airstream and were given the wrong code to get into it. We had to call the office to get the right code and the office staff seemed put out. The outdoor garbage cans in our new campsite were extremely full upon our arrival and there were spiderwebs everywhere, including inside the unit. The beds are uncomfortable, the wifi did not work, the shower was a trickle and barely got warm. The hot tub and the ice machine were broken. The close proximity to restaurants and beaches and the Apple TV was the only saving grace. That and the cute little bunnies running around the property. We should have asked for a full refund after the first issue. We most likely would not stay here again and would have a hard time recommending it to anyone.
Samantha S — Google review
My family and I stayed in an RV spot for a long weekend. The sites are great, but on the smaller side. There are lots of rabbits running around and can be hand fed. The location is incredible, and its just a short walk to the beach, the store & brewery. Hart's Camp also has put-put golf, and indoor swimming pool, a gym & corn hole. I would definitely stay here again.
Jen D — Google review
We just had an amazing couple days at Hart's. The location is unbeatable, the spots are roomy and there is lots to do. There are great restaurants within a few minutes and if you are doing a Oregon Coast road trip this is a must stay!
Adam B — Google review
If you have children I would say the amenities they offer would make it worth the price. For me just wanting a nice campsite near the beach it was not worth it. $100+ a night - Campsite was run down, sites are extremely close together. Area around the sites some have a little grass, some have gravel, mine was more dust than anything. I was put in a "campsite" that backed directly to the store rear parking lot. I've had nicer sites in the back of a Cracker Barrel. If you are going to put people in the low rent district it should charged accordingly. Booked for 4 nights and left after 2. Just not a relaxing place to be. I never understand RV places that can't find an extra 4 feet so you don't have to smell your neighbors. Will not be returning.
Voodoo Z — Google review
Had to cancel our stay. We've been staying their for years. Our 5th wheel is acting up so we can't make it and we called 4 days before our stay there and they won't refund our deposit. Talk about poor customer service. Thank you for the partial refund. Very much appreciated. Looking forward to next time.
Joseph S — Google review
Bathrooms are super dirty. Sites are literally right beside each other with nothing between. But there are wild bunnies running around, free e bike and sand board rentals and the pool is nice and warm 🙌🏼 if the facilities were cleaner I would give 5 stars

McPhillips Beach, also known as vehicle beach access, is a hidden gem along the Oregon coastline. It's a perfect spot for a road trip adventure, with the option to drive on a large section of the beach. A 4x4 vehicle is recommended due to soft dune sand in some areas. The northern access point is preferred for easier navigation.
Wow, amazing area, been blessed lately with Heavenly views and weather along the Oregon coast and today was no exception! The Van Morrison song "into the myst, er mystic" played in my head as I walked along this foggy area.
Strength P — Google review
Good spot to drive on the beach, you can head to the right or left once you’re down there. Wouldn’t recommend going down that path unless you have a 4x4 as I saw a couple of cars getting stuck. Nice that they allow bonfires at night which is awesome. Can be pretty full on weekends though, and honestly prefer the Gearhart area if you have a choice since there is a lot more space to keep distance from others and be alone with the ocean!
Evan S — Google review
Beautiful drivable beach. Great for families, kids, dogs and small fires, beach combing and flying kites. Narrow, rough road to the beach but folks are courteous. Be careful not to touch the jellyfish!
Laura K — Google review
We absolutely love this beach. You can drive in a huge section of the beach and as always, recommend 4x4 because there are areas of soft dune sand. There are at least two points on access and we prefer to drive to the northern access point rather than the signed area off the road. Easier to navigate. While the tide pools aren't as awesome as on the other side of Cape Kiwanda, you can traverse a rocky area to get a really beautiful look at where the sandstone meets the sea.
Jennifer V — Google review
Do not drive on this beach unless you want your car to get stuck. That’s exactly what happened to us. The car was sort of sinking into the sand and the tires were more than halfway buried. It was very painful to push it off the beach.
Olive T — Google review
Even when the weather sucks it is a great experience to drive your car onto the beach. We stayed in the car this time but there were loads of people walking around.

Cape Kiwanda Sand Dune is a remarkable feature at the North end of Pacific City beach in Oregon. It's part of the Cape Kiwanda Natural Area and offers stunning cliffs, caves, tidepools, and a massive dune that rises nearly 200 feet from the flat sandy beach. While public amenities are still being developed, it's recommended to arrive early due to limited parking. The climb up the dune can be challenging but rewards with breathtaking views.
Awesome place along the coast to visit. Public parking and restrooms were still under construction, so plan on an early arrival to nab a spot. Watch out for the dory boats coming in on the beach while you walk towards the dune. The climb is a bit tough, but well worth the effort. Sand gets hot as the day goes on, may be worthwhile to climb in the morning or on a cloudy day if you have sensitive feet. Overall an amazing experience!

Extremely steep sand dune. We hiked up the face of the dune. I do recommend if you are in good shape to run down the hill, leaping with each step, it made us feel like kids again and like we were flying! So much fun

Arrived at low tide. This is the time to go if you like tide pools. It has one of the largest tide pools on the OR coast. The tide pools are a short walk (about .50 mile) from the parking lot. The Large dunes are also about that far from the parking lot.

Beautiful, soft sand makes for a soft feel on the feet, but a strenuous climb up the dune. The view from the top is well worth it on a clear day like the one we had today. Our group enjoyed hiking the dune, walking the path to look out over the cape, and playing in the surf.

While some visitors appreciated the exceptional service and skilled therapists, others noted instances of children disrupting the tranquil atmosphere. The spa's coastal awakening massage was particularly praised for its quality and scenic views from the hot tub.
I went to Tidepools yesterday for a costal awakening massage. Jessica was my massage therapist and did a wonderful job! I've had many massages, and can say this was one of the best I've ever had. She did a fabulous job and I can't wait to return. The hot tub has an epic view, be sure to bring your swimsuit. The locker rooms did not have many amenities. Just a steam room and shower. A few more products in the lockers would have been great.

We had a very relaxing Spa day at Tidepools. Oliver the massage therapist was amazing. I would recommend this spa to anyone who is visiting or lives near Pacific City.
Laura B — Google review
The experience at tidepools was a mixed bag. The price does not equate to the experience. In all transparency I had a gift card so that is how I found it. My friend and I had very different experiences. Oliver gave my friend her massage and she rated him a 6 out of 10. He rushed and she was done and out of the room in 75 minutes for a 90 minute massage. My person who I can’t remember her name did an a great job. She was an 8/9 out of 10. I enjoyed mine and felt very relaxed. We mention this to the receptionist as we were settling up. She spoke with the manager that was very nice and responsive to us. We were told that the 90 minute massage was really an 75 to 80 minute massage because they put the turn around time onto the customer. My friend who gets way more massage says that she has never heard of the room turn around time being placed in the customer. Regardless no communication happen when I booked via the phone. We did get a 5% discount ($11). Another thing that was told to me during the reservation is that take on 22% service fee ($50) which was 18% gratitude for the massage and 4% to ??? I was more than happy to give that amount of a tip but my friend not so much! Long post but a 90 minute massage in Portland is 150 to 180. $230 is over priced and if you count the mandatory service fee it was $289 and change it is overpriced and under performed. Thank God for a gift card ! Save your money or find a different spot on the beach to go.
Cindy G — Google review
An outstanding experience. We loved our massages and spent a couple hours enjoying the hot tub, steam room and even got food delivered from upstairs. Desk staff at the spa were 5 star with service! Only weird thing was that someone brought their children to the spa which totally killed the relaxing atmosphere, and they let one of their kids go in the hot tub wearing a diaper. I definitely think this experience would be better as adults only.
Tom D — Google review
It’s been some time since we received our massages at this place, but I still can’t get the experience off my mind. First of all, the massage therapist, Oliver, was sick. He was not a little sick, but very sick. For the entire 90 minutes, we had to listen to him wheeze, snort, sniff, and rasp. Every breath he made was a reminder we had a sick person hanging over our body in a tiny room. He was forced to excuse himself from the room to cough, making the experience shorter than it should have been and additionally awkward. What’s more, the man’s fingernails were too long and my husband and I were left with marks. I could not wear the dress I bought especially for our anniversary dinner at Meridian because it showed the fresh, bloody scratches down my back. I can’t speak for my husband on this account, but when I checked out at the register, I was made to wait for quite some time because the individual was busy. That’s fine and I understood the rush, but when it came time for me to pay, the receptionist was still helping other people, so I had the receipt shoved in front of me and I was told I had to pay the required tip, but I was never asked how my experience actually was. When we checked out of the hotel, we told the receptionist, who did nothing. Then, when the online review was sent, we noted our concerns there, too, and never heard from anyone. I go out of my way to actively recommend people stay away from this spa now, and hope you do, as well.
Elizabeth B — Google review
5 stars isn’t enough! The staff here are friendly and helpful, my massage by Oliver was first class. Relaxing time by the outdoor saltwater hot tub while watching the surfers and beach activity. Can’t wait to return!

Located near the stunning Pacific City Beach, visitors can immerse themselves in the vibrant beach culture by watching surfers ride the waves or witnessing dory boats launch into the surf. The sandy shores are perfect for building sandcastles or enjoying a cozy bonfire while roasting marshmallows under the stars.
A great hike, sand, foliage, tree roots, all make for a different, fun hiking experience. I'll be doing this each and every time we stay in PC going forward.

Pretty area, but litter spoils the experience. And barking dogs from the RV park next door.

Old-fashioned steam locomotive offering riders a trip along the Oregon coast & scenic views.
We were so happy to do this! We all road in the covered but outside car and it was great! There were 9 of us in our party and we all sat comfortably together. The train offers drinks and snacks but let's your bring your own (super nice). It's very selcenic and a wonderful tour guide gives you a ton of info. It was amazing how much info he gave to us about the area.

This was a great experience. The scenery is beautiful and it was easy to book well in advance, which we did since it was part of a vacation. You can take the train from either Rockaway Beach or Garibaldi and return right away or choose a later return if you prefer to walk around and explore. Nice and informative crew on board. Highly recommend!

September 2025 - Late in the season and the train was fairly empty, thus seating was anywhere you wanted and you could move from antique car to antique car as you desired. We saw the Three Graces, the Twin Rocks with Tunnel, and much more as we rode from Garibaldi to Rockaway Beach and back. The ride is not fast, about 15 MPH and someone bouncy, but it is decent and should be on your 'to do' list if you are anywhere near Astoria or Lincoln City on US-101.

The staff was wonderful. All very friendly and very helpful. The food was good but it would have been great if it would have been hot. They had two options: chicken and steak. They served everyone who had chicken first, so by the time I received my steak my son was done eating. I realize that it is a challenge to serve food under the conditions of a moving swaying train and so many people, however it seems like there should be some way to keep the food hot and serve in a timely manner. Overall it was a fun trip and a great staff.

If you are into trains, then this is a must do trip. I love trains and this is a good ole fashioned steam loco with a old dining care and passenger car. The funny thing is you can train fans from people there to see the sights... Train folk ride in the cars for the experience, while tourist wanting to see the coast from a unique vantage ride up front in open cars. Excellent way to spend the day.

Weather just barely agreed with us! Seats were comfy. Sadly the views on the right side of the train were not as good as the left. But we still had a blast!! Will pay for the food ahead next time as it is cheaper and gets delivered.

Amazing Steam train that runs right on the coast. The inside cars are very nice and the outside cars make for a great way to see the sights. We took the trip all the way to Wheeler for the first time and it was a nice long ride. My son is a train nut and he loved it.

What a wonderful experience on the Oregon coast. The only reason for 4/5 and not 5 is the commentary. I greatly enjoyed it, but wished it was only one way. The speakers were nice and loud for those who may have a harder time hearing but so loud it was difficult to have conversations. Definitely a must do trip! Tip: you will want to have a longer stretch between stops.

Ample parking & great coastal views! We love the ADA paved path to the viewing dock.

A vast place with beautiful scenery. The parking lot is large, but the restroom is quite small. If you head to the left, you can enjoy views of the river and ocean from the observation deck. To the right, there's the Two River Trail. The trail is about 1.6 to 1.7 miles one way, so it's over 3 miles round trip. I recommend first taking the easy path to the observation deck. If you have more time, explore the trail. The view from the observation deck is much better, but the trail offers a cozy forest path. It seems there are picnic spots, but I didn't get to visit them.

Absolutely beautiful!! Right now their viewing platform is blocked off because of weather damage, but it was still lovely. It was exciting to find such a massive beautiful meadow dedicated to butterflies and other wildlife!! We had a wonderful little walk up the path and reading the signs about the different flowers, and then finding them!

The paved path to the viewpoints is amazing and super accessible. The views are SO beautiful of the Pacific and the Coast Range and the coastal prairie area.
Susannah K — Google review
We enjoyed a nice hike here, starting out next to the meadow that has protective butterfly caterpillar tents. The trails go through both open fields and forest. Keep an eye out for the squash vines alone the side starting to bear fruit.

Pleasant place with a two mile round trip moderate trail to the river confluence and about a half mile round trip paved and boardwalk fairly easy but uphill trail to a nice overlook from which you can see a snippet of the ocean on a clear day. That trail is doable in a wheelchair if you're pretty strong or someone is pushing, but would not be doable for the frail. One very clean pit toilet at the upper trailhead parking (nicest one I've ever seen, as pit toilets go, and wheelchair accessible, I believe). The road to the upper trailhead is a narrow one lane road with blind curves, no shoulder and occasional pedestrians, so go slow on that. Lower parking area only seems to have a small gazebo and no trails, as far as I could tell. If this information was useful to you, I would appreciate a quick like or follow. Thank you!

Good, easy, well maintained trails. Wish there was more at the end of Two Rivers View trail even a bench to enjoy reaching the just over a mile hike to get there. The trail does have a few benches along it though.

Beautiful ocean overlook. This site has informative plaques tailored to the direction (north or south) you may be traveling. Distance to towns, places of interest, food, lodging, fuel, etc...
