Lost Roo is a cozy wood-paneled restaurant in Long Beach known for its traditional grill dishes, draft beers, and sports on TV. The menu features seasonal beef and seafood specials, with the chowder being a popular starter made with clams, codfish, and bacon. Visitors rave about the Coconut Margarita and Goose Point Oyster Shooter from the drink menu.
Looking at the restaurant choices in the area, this is the only place I found that offers a balanced menu without heavily tilted to deep-fried seafood or overpricing on everything. Both the food and experience were actually so good that I visited this restaurant two times during my stay in the area. Prime rib was on the special menu on one of the days that I went, and it was a big piece of exactly-how-it-should-be-cooked meat and it was really delicious. The Steelhead salmon was also great if you want something lighter. Highly recommend ordering either the Amber Ale Steamers (clams -- so fresh and perfectly cooked) or the fried Pacific oysters to share for the table, or both if you have a big group or big appetite!

Interesting restaurant in long Beach WA. Varied menu, lively atmosphere, friendly staff. Food was pretty good - I had the gumbo - lots of shrimp and quite flavorful. Wish it had a bit more sausage though. My friends seemed to enjoy their food. We were 7 and got seated right away despite being crowded. Lots of families. I'd go back to try some of the other dishes.

Good food, excellent waitstaff. Lost Roo is like stepping back into time, the rustic wood surroundings, contemporary seating, honky tonk style bar, it's the perfect gathering place. The food is fresh ads tasty, playing a safe middle lane in terms of flavor. The menu is everything you might recognize, with coastal flavoring thrown into the mix. Check the daily specials, the is always something brewing in the kitchen. There is an ample drink selection with many of the draft taps including regional breweries, to give you a hop taste of the area. Lost Roo is one of those places that feel good, and offers you a great dining experience. Oh and the waitstaff, ultra fiendly, very efficient, they check in on you without being intrusive, but they wil insure that you are well cared for.

Three words. Ahi Tuna Tower. So delicious! Every element of this dish was prepared to perfection. We will have a hard time ordering something else next time if it’s still on the menu. We sat at the bar and the staff was friendly and attentive. We will definitely be back!

Excellent service and food. Clara was our waitress. My granddaughter gives her 100 🌟's. We ordered loaded beef nachos, shrimp Louie, joey burger, chicken strips, grilled ribeye & dungeons crab melt. Everything was delicious 👍👍

The other places on the main drag thru Long Beach lost out because there was too much traffic and no parking. Lost Roo is outstanding. The Beach Drop cocktail was delicious. The taco salad (picture) was also top-notch. We were promptly seated and the very friendly server was right there to take care of us. My wife had the Loaded Nachos and they looked awfully good. Definitely will be going back.

Wife and I finally tried out Lost Roo during a busy Wednesday night. We were able to find parking in the lot but spaces were filling up quickly. Our hostess seated us promptly and I ordered a cup of the Fishermen's chowder, with my entree being the Baja Fish tacos. My wife had the Butttermilk Fried Chicken sandwich. The chowder wasn't bad tasting, I just prefer my chowder to be of a thicker consistency and this chowder was kind of runny. My fish tacos were well seasoned and I LOVED the pineapple salsa that came with it. Adding it to the tacos really brought out the flavor. My wife's chicken sandwich was tasty, very delicious and she enjoyed the thick steak fries that accompanied the meal.

If this was in Tacoma, it would be my go-to place for sure. A bit of a drive but we came out here for the scenery and enjoyed lunch at Lost roo. The food was perfect, the staff was very friendly and attentive, the bathrooms extremely clean and lovely ambience, the whole experience was top-notch. Highly recommended!! This place truly values their customers.

If you're looking for a delightful dining experience by the beach, The Chowder Stop is the perfect spot to satisfy your cravings. This casual seafood and breakfast eatery opens its doors daily at 8 am, serving up classic morning favorites like Eggs Benedict and Belgian Waffles. For those who prefer a heartier start, their Homemade Biscuits with Sausage Gravy are a must-try.
I recently dined at The Chowder Stop, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, with a charming nautical theme that sets the perfect mood for enjoying some of the best seafood around. The star of the show, of course, is the chowder. It’s rich, creamy, and packed with fresh ingredients that burst with flavor. Every spoonful was a delight, and it’s clear that they take pride in the quality of their food. The seafood was incredibly fresh, and the portion sizes were generous. What really stood out, though, was the service. The staff was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable, making us feel welcome and well cared for throughout our meal. Whether you're a local or just passing through, The Chowder Stop is a must-visit. It's the kind of place that makes you want to come back again and again. Highly recommended!

Amazing clam chowder but he’s moving in October down to Texas. So stop in. Tip well and eat some of the best food around. The sweet potato fries are epic and will be missed. I look forward to finding him near San Antonio Texas next time we go to Round Top
Hallstrom H — Google review
Self service little shop right next to the opening of Long Beach. Pretty standard kind of food for a little eatery next to the beach. However, I was pleasantly surprised. The fried items tasted quite fresh and seemed battered in house, not from frozen. We got the fried halibut and fried oysters, not at all overly fishy. Clam chowder was quite good, albeit on the salty side. Overall great experience!
Max S — Google review
Good service. The food portion was good for the price you pay, I got 8 big shrimps for my dish, sweet potatoes fries tasted great. Clam chowder was ok, too salty. Actually other food is little salty too.
Lila C — Google review
Cod fish & chips were very good. Not too much breading like you’d find at other fish & chip places. The real highlight though is the clam chowder. One of the best clam chowders I’ve ever had. Not soupy/runny and no over use of potatoes. This rivals some of the best clam chowder I’ve had in Boston even. Definitely worth trying if you’re in the area.
R.J. D — Google review
Very small place, only one waitress, the fish and chips were not what I had heard before going. The fish was over battered, and the batter was not cooked fully. It was doughy in the middle. The claim chowder was just mediocre. My wife had the fried and said they were good.
Will — Google review
This little fish shack has wonderful food. Clam Chowder is a top choice and the reason for the restaurants name (2nd best on our tour of the PNW) Halibut fish and chips were hand battered and cooked to perfection. A top notch fish & chips not usually found in a tourist spot. Portions are large so feel free to share! Salad was was good but let's be honest ... ur at a chowder / fish shack EAT THE HALIBUT & CHOWDER!
Joe S — Google review
It was one of a few dinner places open after 7 on a Saturday evening & it didn’t disappoint. Seating options are well proportioned for the space applicable…You walk in & go to the counter in the back & get directed where to sit…The waiter was on his own but he was wonderful. Order was taken & just as quick delivered. I’ve tried a lot of chowder places up & down the peninsula & this is my favorite because it’s so thick & filling. Their “sizes” of bowls is crazy - small was enough & more to bring some home. Garlic toast was perfectly toasted & garlic was well proportioned. Of course couldn’t “not” do oyster shooters. Drink options were available to grab on our own - soda (Pepsi) & beer options aplenty. The halibut was thick & flakey w/crisp batter covering. The fries were also seasoned well. The cubano had great presentation & flavor as well. Overall super impressed, well priced & from what is said - and what I’ve heard from other dinners - is true. Highly recommend stopping by.

Dylan’s Cottage Bakery & Delicatessen is a cozy, wood-paneled eatery located in the bustling Pacific Avenue area of Washington. It's a popular spot for locals and visitors to enjoy breakfast or lunch by the beach. The menu features an array of delectable options, including egg sandwiches like the Californian Breakfast Sandwich and lunch specials such as Chowder and Half Sandwich.
I recently visited Dylan’s Cottage Bakery & Delicatessen and was absolutely blown away! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with the delightful aroma of freshly baked bread and pastries. The ambiance is cozy and inviting, making it the perfect spot for a quick bite or a leisurely meal. The selection of baked goods is incredible – everything from croissants and muffins to artisan breads and cakes. I tried their signature sandwich and it was easily the best I’ve ever had. The ingredients were fresh, the bread was perfectly baked, and the flavors were out of this world. The staff were friendly and attentive, offering great recommendations and making sure every customer felt welcome. The attention to detail in both the food and service is truly commendable. Overall, Dylan’s Cottage Bakery & Delicatessen is a gem! Whether you’re grabbing a coffee and pastry to go, or sitting down for a meal, you won’t be disappointed. I can’t wait to go back and try more of their delicious offerings. Highly recommend! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

If you want a delicious breakfast or deli sandwich while in Long Beach WA, go to Dylan’s Cottage Bakery. But that’s not even the best part! They offer fresh homemade breads, pastries, pies and cookies all created in house. So many choices it’s hard to decide. The employees are super nice, as they great locals and visitors. And the shop is warm and inviting, with a few booths to sip coffee and eat something yummy. If you are in the Long Beach area, Dylan’s is a must stop!

The bakery looks amazing—next time I’ll try it—it appears to be their specialty and my parents liked the danishes. Expect taking time ordering and come with patience as it can get busy. Ingredients are fresh, the sandwiches are loaded and their bread is delicious. Although the menu has sandwiches by names, the cashier cannot put them in the point of sale system by name—that caused confusion and my order was not correct. Cashier instructed me to order one ingredient at a time for each sandwich. I didn’t have the patience required to follow their procedures and didn’t have the cashier read each sandwich back to me, so I got two half sandwiches instead of whole sandwiches. The half sandwiches were not enough for our appetite before our athletic event and we were still hungry but due to lack of time we took nutritional supplements.

Drove 2.5 hours just to get this amazing cinnamon roll. Not disappointed at all, totally worth it. Super tasty and great service to boot.
Jessica D — Google review
Overall, this place is good. It’s a charming bakery, with more choices than you can shake a stick at. The service was quick enough, even with a long line. I also went to the deli, where things were a little more scattered. The lady at the register was nice, but was not fully caffeinated to face the day. I had to ask twice to make sure I got a bowl of clam chowder, because she was running through a list of options for my Reuben. Once I got my food, I noticed the chowder seemed smaller than I expected, but I went on my way, perhaps too trustingly, thinking at least it’s probably full. Nope, half full, they accidentally gave me the cup. I really should have said something on the spot. However, let this be an informed opinion that if the sizes seem off, there was probably a miscommunication in the kitchen, and mentioning is ok. Otherwise, the Reuben I go was tasty, though for $16 they should include either more pickle spears or a bag of chips. Any review of the bakery items will be separate.

The best Maple Bars ever! I love donuts and I eat them everywhere and I have been eating these since I was a kid. The best you can get, hands downs. Sandwiches are fresh, along with all there soups. Old fashion style the way it should be!

Got a custom cake ordered for my birthday, and it was perfect! We've been coming here for awhile, but this is the first time I've ever ordered a custom cake. The process was super simple, and I loved that they had a visual guide I could reference when placing the order over the phone. The process was super easy, and I didn't feel rushed at all! The cake itself was delicious and they brought to life the Max & Ruby cake I had always wanted as a kid! This was the best birthday I've ever had, and this was the first time my birthday cake was something I had complete control over. Thank you so much!

8/30/24: Popped in to check out the bakery case and ended up getting breakfast. Affordable and delicious. Loved the bakery and bread selection. All day breakfast! Helpful and friendly crew. Order the special which was a potato scramble and a half order of biscuits and gravy as well as an oat milk hazelnut latte. Everything was delicious. Gravy is traditional and slightly peppery. Biscuit is perfect vessel for the gravy, not fluffy but not dense. Potato scramble had eggs, ham, spinach, tomato, and onions. Very filling. Latte was done perfect.

Long Beach Tavern is a casual establishment that offers a variety of food options such as pizza, burgers, and bar bites. They also have an extensive selection of craft beers and cocktails. In addition to the food and drinks, the tavern provides entertainment in the form of pool tables, gambling, and karaoke. The prices may be a bit high, especially for the pizza, but the quality is good. Both patrons and staff are friendly.
Had the best fish and chips here I have had in a LONG time. Halibut was amazing. Very obvious they clean their fryers and beer taps regularly. Lovely staff, fun place. Will be back!

This is a nice place to have a beer and a bite of food. In the winter it’s a nice place to warm up with a bowl of clam chowder. There are TVs so you can watch sports or pool tables the cost .75 cents to play. The service was fast and friendly. I would recommend the calamari. The nachos were a little overcooked and burnt on the edges.

This place was great. We had wonderful service and great food. It was a little warm inside so we opted for the outdoor seating and they even brought it out to us! The Best fish & chips!

Really good pizza ~ from crust to toppings, well worth the price. Nice casual atmosphere with enough local feel to feel welcomed. 👍👍

I stopped in for lunch on both directions of my road trip and loved the food, drinks, and people. The clam chowder is a must! Also they sell perhaps the hottest horseradish I've ever tasted. On my first visit it had just come back for sale and every local at the bar was buying a bottle, so naturally I did as well. Family loved it and needed to stop back to grab another bottle for myself on the return trip. Lots of space, pool tables, very clean nice place to stop for food and drinks, especially if you're staying in town on vacation.
Kellyn C — Google review
The local casual bar with pool tables, decent food and sometimes luv3 music. Reasonable prices and no frills. Worth a stop.

The pizza was fantastic! The karaoke was fun to listen to. It’s nice that they serve food late, since most of the town closes early. Lots of options on the menu too! We definitely look forward to going back on our next visit!

A true locals bar. When we walked in we were given the Long Beach stare. It might be a great place for locals, but if you are visiting, don't bother. The Castaways across the street has pleasant servers and they appreciate your business.

Drop Anchor Seafood & Grill is a casual, family-owned eatery with a beach vacation vibe. The old-school space offers a large menu featuring classic seafood dishes and chowder, making it hard to choose from the many delicious options. The friendly staff provides great service, ensuring that drinks are always refilled. Customers rave about the amazing crab cakes and the impressive Spanish coffee.
We came in around mid-day when the restaurant wasn't busy. The waiters were attentive and helpful when I had questions about gluten free. To my surprise, their chowder is gluten free, AND they have a fish-n-chips that's also gluten free. Regular fries are not GF, but sweet potato fries are. (My favorite, anyway.) My husband wasn't a huge fan of the halibut in the fish-n-chips that he got (didn't eat most of it) but the restaurant staff took that off our bill. He loved the fries and we both really liked the clam chowder! Absolutely not what we expected, but super kind of them to do so. We highly recommend stopping here if you are in the area!

Absolutely enjoyed Drop Anchor!! This was our 3rd time eating here and this time we visited over the July 4th weekend and it was busy but the staff were absolutely awesome, attentive, welcoming and the best. The food was beyond amazing and so delicious. Highly recommend 10/10 ✨️✨️ Will continue to eat at Drop Anchor when visit the beach as this is a favorite!!! Food pictured crab sauté in garlic butter with onion rings, crab cakes (the best ever) with toast and French fries, cod sandwich with tarter sauce and Swiss cheese on it and sweet paper fries and crispy chicken alfredo with toast and french fries. All so so delicious 😋

This was a Sunday around 6:30 pm and as visitors to this area, we relied entirely on Google reviews! They didn’t disappoint and indeed this is a restaurant you must visit while in Long Beach, WA! The place was very busy, with a wait line of 35-45 minutes but there was a slightly shorter alternative! Since kids were hungry, we opted to TAKE OUT but ate our meals outside! There are 4 large tables outside. The adults ordered clam chowders, which had plenty of clams and the kids had chicken strips, French fries, Texas garlic bread, grilled cheese and cod. Our entree, The Combination platter, had all the sea food varieties listed on the menu, PLUS shrimp, which was my favorite! Everything, including the clams, were cooked to perfection! While we waited, the kids were provided coloring mats and crayons. The staff was outstanding, courteous and patient. An overall 5-star experience! The restaurant has ample parking, and we found a spot immediately, but it was full, due to how popular this place is, with visitors and locals! Also, check out the desserts counter, inside! Since a “picture is worth a 1,000 words,” here’re some pics! Bravo!

Don’t really know where to start… This is def THE BEST restaurant I’ve been to on the entire highway 101!! Edie was the sweetest/best server. GET THE COCONUT PRAWNS WITH SWEET CHILLI, and halibut fish and chips..They are to die for. Drinks are quick and superb! So glad we found this place. Totally made our day/ honeymoon. Much love!

We had the crab cakes which I thought were Awesome! Since I never had them before, the bottom was seared perfectly and the rest just was delicious and fluffy and hot. The entre was the sampler plate which could have been hotter, other than that I thought it was fine. For dessert we took home some fudge which was Amazing. I would go back to try something else.
Rodney C — Google review
My husband and I visited Drop Anchor on 9/19/25 for our 33rd anniversary. After an initial 20 minute wait to be seated (which was fine) we had another 10 minute wait before our waitress even acknowledged us. Once she took our order it took ANOTHER 45 minutes to get our food. Once the food came we were definitely disappointed in portion sizes. I paid $24 for what was supposed to be an 8 ounce medium rare steak what I got was a 4inch by 4 inch piece of very bloody & bland shoe leather. The toast tasted like it had sat in garlic oil (not butter) for a week. Literally the only thing good about this meal was the baked potato & the beverage. My husband ordered the fish (salmon) & chips along with sautéed mushrooms. He said his fish was very dry & over cooked. He did like the mushrooms though he wished they had been whole not sliced. It was a VERY disappointing end for our anniversary and we will not be back.
Danielle D — Google review

Restaurant
The Pickled Fish is a top-floor restaurant located at the Adrift Hotel in Long Beach, offering stunning views of the Pacific Ocean. It's recommended for special occasions and provides a creative menu featuring pickled items as stars or sides on many dishes. The cuisine is fresh and locally inspired, with options like Waygu cheeseburger, Mac & Cheese, pickled vegetables including cherries, and fried oysters with chow chow.
The view is amazing at this restaurant! Probably the best view from a restaurant in Long Beach! Loved the food and a great environment. I like that they have multiple vegetarian options on the menu. There is live music at certain times in the evening so keep that in mind when planning at time to go. They also have the option for you to make reservations, this is especially important if you want a window seat.
Trent L — Google review
They have good food and a spectacular view, but the service is poor and doesn’t reflect well for the total cost to dine here. Service was quick to place our order, but nonexistent thereafter. We would have bought more drinks and dessert as this was our anniversary, but nobody checked on us until we got tired of waiting and requested our bill.
Stacie L — Google review
We were hoping for a nice dining experience, but overall, it felt more like a diner than a proper restaurant. The salmon was undercooked and swimming in what tasted like machine oil—not pleasant. For the price, the portion was surprisingly small. The steak was passable, but the asparagus it came with was tough and barely half-edible. The house salad was as basic as it gets—nothing memorable. The pickled plate had an interesting mix, and the pickled fish was decent, but again, not exactly something to write home about. The one highlight was the panna cotta dessert, which was actually very good. Not planning to return.
Marianna K — Google review
Went here for dinner. The views from the seats along the windows do provide a nice view of the beach, however, the seats are not very comfortable. We ordered the Salmon entree and the Steak entree. We were both disappointed. The salmon was overcooked on one side and undercooked on the other. The steak was ordered med-rare, but because the steak was not cut to an even thickness it was served med-well. Only one small part of the steak was cooked correctly. We ordered the bread pudding which supposedly had the Adrift Bourbon in the sauce that was served with it, but the sauce was not properly prepared as it still had unmelted sugar crystals and was a bit grainy, with no detectable bourbon flavor. Service was excellent. My advice: Go for happy hour while you enjoy the view, then go somewhere else for dinner.

Went here for my fiancés birthday and had a great time! Our drinks were phenomenal and the food was very very good. Would highly recommend the clam chowder. I was a little nervous about the service with all the recent bad reviews, but I can say that we had a great experience and our waitress was super nice and attentive. Would highly recommend going even just for the views alone. We saw some whales at a distance and it was so nice watching them while eating.

Mmm, beach front restaurant 🏞🍕🍔🥘 The crab pizza was very tasty (fennel heavy) and different, I loved it! $$ The burger was quality and tasty. The salmon and brussel sprouts were too strong on the oil/smoke flavor for our taste. The salmon was good size piece and wild caught. We requested to have the salmon cooked further, and they were cool about it. The fried potatoes were delicious. $$ Overall, we enjoyed our beautiful dishes, and they did their best to work with our GF and dairy free requests. The atmosphere was absolutely beautiful, well thought out, and pleasant. I'd recommend a reservation for a beach seat especially. The service was excellent. Shout out to Cescily for her customer service skills and warmth. Made our night. All in all, we are grateful for this place and we will visit again! 🙂

My steak dinner Tuesday looked so good that I forgot to take a picture but I did take one of the menu because we almost didn't come here after seeing the menu posted. Completely different. We shared the ceasar salad. It was so good and fresh and the croutons were delicious. I got the perfectly cooked steak with these yummy mushrooms and char grilled asparagus. Hubby got the juicy and delicious salmon. Definitely make reservations if you want a window table and I'm not sure if they were short staffed or if the service is proficient but grumpy. None of them smiled no matter how hard I tried.
Shannon L — Google review
We stopped by for dinner on a Sunday. You truly can’t beat the location and view especially around sunset from their dining area. The staff were very friendly and the drinks were delicious - by far the best part of the meal. The food was very disappointing. I ordered the burger; it was burnt black on the outside but had rare middle (far from an actual medium rare) and they literally just put a slice of cold cheese on top so wasn’t even melted. The fries were too thick and not crispy at all plus they added a seasoning that just clashed with rest of flavors on plate. My wife had a bowl of the clam chowder; it was so salty she had to ask for water refills twice while eating and the “homemade” focaccia was solid as a rock. She did say if it wasn’t so salty; it would’ve been a good chowder. The food alone cost almost $40 for two. We will be back for drinks but not worth the price for the quality of food.

Thai restaurant
Malai Thai Restaurant is a small take-out spot located in southern Washington, offering consistently delicious Thai food. While the to-go pickup system may seem disorganized with handwritten receipts, it adds charm and has never resulted in any food errors. The menu features crowd-pleasers like Pad Thai and deep-fried spring rolls, but the real highlights are the green curry, drunken noodles, and thick rice noodles that pack a flavorful punch.
The calamari was AMAZING as were the drunken noodles. The food is definitely worth a try. They only do takeout so hopefully you are able to find a place nearby to enjoy your dinner.

They are on the boardwalk, it's gonna be hard to find a better lunch special price. Yakisoba was the better value. Take out only but, there is a clean restroom available for customers, which is nice! The food was okay. Pretty upset that the cashew chicken had maybe two visible cashews. And if 6 shrimp is the goal for a dish they did that perfectly. Everything was hot and well packed. Chicken ratio was good tho.

We went there for vacation and found this restaurant. Ordered crab and shrimp fried rice to go and is the best I have ever had! The owner is a very nice lady. Great experience definitely recommend!
R Q — Google review
None of the food I got was ever cooked on a pan, because all the ingredients were pre-steamed and served with sauce. I would never call what I got tasty or seasoned in any way, but I would call it refreshing. Nearly 90% of this chicken and rice dish was vegetables, and because they were steamed and not cooked, not very nutritional. At least there was enough sauce to cover everything. I don't think I'll ever come back. I definitely should have walked down a block to get chicken strips. service was very fast.

I've been a customer for years. Their quality goes down each year as well as the portions. I beg for sauce each visit and get home to a dry glop of whatever I ordered. The man there said Thai food has no sauce or it changes the flavor...WHAT? 2 cubes of tofu, 2 pieces of broccoli, 3 pieces of carrot and a glop of dry noodles.Today I take the food back for a refund and go to Dee Dee's Thai in Astoria from now on...her's is fresh, juicy and delicious.

Friendly staff, only take-away. I have been getting their fresh rolls and having them for lunch everyday. It’s a great sandwich replacement. They have a mix of protein and yummy peanut sauce.

Cozy, authentic Thai in the heart of town. Space is small but nice and warm on a cold night. Food is fresh, authentic and bursting with flavor. The Basil Fried Rice was the best. We asked for '3' spice level and it was spot on. Closes a bit early but well worth dining in. Kindly and helpful staff.

Not sure how this is a 4.4 rating. Most bland yellow curry I have ever had. Cramped waiting area. Hard to communicate with person taking the order. Chicken was not chewy, so I'll give it that. Wife said her phad thia is decent.

North Beach Tavern is a casual spot offering good food and live music, making it a great choice for a relaxed dining experience. The tavern features an excellent beer garden and is conveniently located on the main road of the Long Beach peninsula. It's both dog-friendly and handicapped accessible, with friendly staff providing great service. The highlight of the menu is their amazing pizzas, including a surprising yet delicious Pickle Pizza that left visitors impressed.
LOVE their unique pizza options and back yard! Fun drinks, warmth no heaters/blankets for the cold days & live music on weekends. It’s an annual stop for us every year!

Great spot! Seriously, folks. Every place has a bad night. I don't recommend the burger or the chili under any circumstance. The drinks and oyster shooter were fantastic! The bartender and staff were AMAZING! I did not try the pizza, but might give it a whirl. Go here for the atmosphere, for sure! The place is lively and awesome:

Usually they're good. Tonight we called in a 2 pizza order that came to $54 plus a tip. It took 45 minutes before they handed us the boxes, and they were both extremely burnt, blackened on crusts. I immediately called them and asked if they forgot to set the timer because our pizzas were burnt. And she rudely said "bring it in for a refund or we can make you another one.". Not even an apology!! And the lady cooking them took a smoke break when we were told it would be done the over the phone! Rude!!!
Sarah H — Google review
The servers were very helpful and kind. The pizza wasn't so great, but I think the choices in Long Beach are limited. If you do go with this, ask for extra sauce because the main issue was that it was very dry.

I Ordered a pizza to go. It was terrible. I ended up throwing it out. Decided another time to go in an have a drink and order something different. After waiting for service. Two other couples came in and sat down. After waiting 15 minutes then we looked back to see the people that came in after us got service. I got up and walked out. Ill never be back. Terrible food and service.

Great pizza and had mine delivered to Jacks Country store in Ocean Park at their suggestion. Talk about wonderful customer service. I'd like to give you 10 stars!! I have lived here for 40 years and it's the best pizza to date

We had an enjoyable, relaxing time here. This pub has what is probably the best beer garden on the Long Beach peninsula. Carla tends the tables and says she's owned the place just over four years. This pub is easy to find, access, and exit. It's located on the peninsula's main road, on a corner lot. Noise get traffic is really the only downside, but it's usually not bad. Dog friendly and handicapped accessible although it's all sandy gravel surface. We didn't check out the restrooms. Prices are very reasonable. If you found this review to be helpful please consider adding a thumbs up. 👍

Pretty limited menu for a tavern, mostly pizza We didn’t want pizza but not much else on the menu so we had pizza. Toppings were good but the pizza crust was the worst I’ve ever had, ended up scraping the toppings off and eating them leaving the crust as the crust was like a thick paper plate, no crunch or flavor at all

Castaway's Seafood Grille is a casual and lively restaurant located in downtown Long Beach, Washington. The recent renovations have given the place a clean and classy ambiance without being overly formal. The menu features a variety of dishes including award-winning clam chowder, perfectly cooked cod fish and chips, well-prepared burgers, and an outstanding seafood lasagna that is loaded with delicious crab.
Castaway’s is very nice with beautiful soft lighting and modern decor. The bar and restaurant are separated, but you can easily walk between. Non-Intrusive live music was wonderful. The service was 10 stars but not stuffy, very approachable and friendly. The food and presentation are carefully curated. The steamer clams, crabcakes and clam chowder were stand out amazing! It’s an upscale restaurant in the heart of rustic Long Beach, super close to the main beach access.

Straight out the gate you could tell it was a fast paced environment. The speed in getting someone seated was not enough. The fast talking servers, the speed at which the food came out, I felt like I was in a rush from the word go. The servers are fantastic. Now lets get to the food. Clam chowder, Great! Calamari, some of the best I've ever had. I ordered the halibut, which was phenomenal, that creamy sauce with capers was magical. As for the sides it would have been better leaving them off of the plate. The butternut squash I could not figure out, the flavor was beyond me, the broccolini should have been called crudité. Definently not worth $36 a plate. My Husband ordered the Cioppino, the seafood was amazing the sauce lacked luster and flavor. My 13 year old ordered the French Dip, his opinion was that we make better, the sandwich was delicious but the jus was nothing short of an unseasoned beef broth.

We were on vacation in Astoria, Oregon, and spent quite a bit of time in Long Beach, WA. Stopping at Castaway Seafood Grille was one of the highlights of our trip. The food was excellent, and the staff made the experience even better with their friendly and engaging service. I made it a point to try clam chowder everywhere we went, and without a doubt, theirs was the best—hands down. They also have a great kids’ menu, which made it an easy choice for the whole family. Absolutely loved our visit and would highly recommend it!
Ujiro O — Google review
Such an amazing atmosphere. We sat at a table on the bar side and slowly ate an appetizer (mozzarella sticks) and ordered a few drinks to study the vibe. We inquired about the prime rib (available after 4 on Fridays and Saturdays) and decided to try it. The portions are crazy huge despite there being "two sizes" (10 oz for $27 or 16 for $33). You get broccolini, butternut squash, and your choice of starch (mashed potato, baked potato, fries, tater tots, rice, etc). It comes with yummy, creamy horseradish, and an au jus to dip. Broccolini is garlicy and delicious. Tater tots are crispy golden. This is also the place to come for specialty drinks. The Castaways Mai Tai was a huge hit with my husband and the Lavender Lemon Drop was my favorite. We also tried the Pineapple Mojito, an Old Fashioned, and Cran Marnier and those were okay. The bartender (blond with buns...sorry didn't get name) and waitress (Jamie) were amazing. You will not be disappointed coming here! Advice: come early for a seat on the weekend.

The clam chowder was one of the best I’ve ever had! Perfect amount of clammy sea flavor and not too cream. The server Marisa was also one of the most friendly and down to earth servers I’ve had in years!!! Definitely would recommend!

The steak marsala on the daily specials was amazing, 5 stars! Everything else was bland and lacked flavor. My clam pasta just sat in a watery butter as a sauce. The calamari were overcooked. Hubs drink was $14 (really we paid for ice) and a short pour glass of house wine was $12. Service was excellent and atmosphere was nice. Based on this experience with quality vs price, we wouldn't return.

The menu features daily chowder specials such as Clam Chowder, Cod Chowder, Cheeseburger Chowder, and Smoked Salmon Chowder available in different sizes. Yaaaaaas momma Melissa. Give me your fish and chowder please. So delicious. Very homemade chowder served out of a big pot on the stove. The biggest, flakiest piece of fried halibut. A must try for any fish lover.

This place is a little hidden gem. You may only find one or two ladies working but they make time to talk with every person in the room while hand breading the fish with meticulous care. A bloke I spoke to said he travels over 180 miles just to get a pint of chowder and I understand why. Chunks of clam as big as the potato. We stopped in twice over the weekend and my 4 year old devoured the calamari. They also have games to keep you entertained while you wait for the delicious food.

Excellent fish and chips and thick chowder! Halibut was fried perfectly, not overcooked. Not as greasy as most fish and chips we've had. They saw my wife and I intended to share, so they split the order onto two plates. Would he ghly recommend for lunch on at Long Beach.

This is not your typical classy restaurant, this is your old school mom and pa's restaurant. What stood out to me is the place wasnt very big but when we arrived EVERY seat and table was packed, the food and service all from ONE single person was amazing! The woman cooking is very friendly as well and made us feel more than welcome! The portions of food are out of this world too!! The size of fish you get with your meals was at least an inch thick and was as long as the whole plate! The clam chowder is very good too! I personally will stop by here to get clam chowder and visit with the wonderful lady who does everything by herself! For what this place is its absolutely 5 star. The service was great, the place was packed and everyone was fed and happy, the food was great and the portion sizes for the price are absolutely worth it!

Absolutely the best food I've ever had!! Melissa is so kind and wonderful. The clam chowder is INCREDIBLE, even better than mine! Coconut shrimp to die for! Crispy hot delicious fries! Definitely stop by and show some love
Joseph K — Google review
Upon entry into this little establishment lady who was standing right in front of us didn’t even acknowledge our existence. We must have inconvenienced her time of cleaning napkin holders. 3 tables inside cash register and a kitchen all in the same room. We opted to eat there yes and ate outside as it was a pretty day. Ordered their version of clam chowder; my version of potato soup. NOT one clam was in my 8 oz bowl. Yes I said not one!! Shrimp cocktail was a very large portion due to the amount of lettuce that made it look large. Sister ordered the combo cod chowder fries. Again chowder was potato soup. Her saving grace was removing the 2” thick panko breading off her cod and adding the cod to her potato soup. The fries literally dripping with oil couldn’t eat those. So for $40+ and their version of “clam chowder “ I could save $35 and just buy a can of soup. Lol I saw your response and after looking back through years of reviews your potato soup never got better. I actually forgot to mention the first bite was like tasting roux gritty flour mixed in grease not cooked down enough so much for your claim to be gluten free if you are your definitely using something else and obviously it needs improvement. The fries I also see never got better. There were no clams at all. The extra shrimp? Are you serious? If that was extra shrimp I can’t imagine what the actual portion would be. Too bad we paid cash but I doubt with your attitude you would had refunded our money anyways. You should be ashamed of yourself coming on here with such a rude attitude and rebuttal that you can’t back it up your review history speaks for itself
Kaye M — Google review
Great fresh food. The cod was crisp on the outside and not overcooked. The chowder was delicious. The fries super crisp. We made a point to stop on my sister's recommendation. It did not disappoint. The wait time was worth fresh food. Marie you need to stop by! Outside seating if you travel with a dog.

Hamburger restaurant
Corral Drive In is a classic American drive-in spot that offers delicious burgers, fries, shakes, and chicken strips. The 1/4 burger is fresh and flavorful, especially when topped with crispy bacon. While there's no indoor seating or bathroom, the small lobby allows for easy ordering and pickup. With picnic tables outside and ample free parking, it's perfect for a takeout meal or dining in your car.
A Must-Visit Classic Drive-In! If you're looking for a taste of nostalgia and some seriously delicious food, The Corral Drive-In is the place to be! This old-school drive-in restaurant has all the charm of a bygone era, paired with incredible eats that will have you coming back for more. I had the Corral Burger, and let me tell you—it was everything a burger should be: juicy, flavorful, and piled high with fresh toppings. The fries were perfectly crispy, making them the ideal sidekick. But the real standout? The fresh-fried mushrooms—hot, crispy, and packed with flavor, they were absolutely addicting! And just when I thought it couldn’t get any better, I took a sip of my cookie dough shake—thick, creamy, and loaded with real cookie dough pieces. It was the perfect sweet treat to top off an already fantastic meal. Between the great food, classic drive-in atmosphere, and friendly service, The Corral Drive-In is an absolute gem. Whether you're a local or just passing through, make sure to stop by—you won’t regret it!

The Corral Drive In is a staple on the north end of the peninsula. It is Western themed and serves solid burgers and shakes. Phone in your order ahead, then pick it up and head to your destination. Their burgers travel well. The Corral's Tsunami Burger is a feat of culinary engineering, enjoyed by all, and very popular when we have a party. It sports 5lbs of beef on a super sized 18inch bun which they will tell you feeds 8, but our experience is that it is closer to 12.

After reading reviews, we decided to try the Corral Drive In. It did not disappoint! I had the 1/4 lb bacon cheeseburger and my daughter had a chicken burger. We shared an order of tots. It was a bit expensive but really delicious! It looks like their prices have gone up but what hasn't. The tsunami burger sounds amazing but a bit spendy and huge. There is outside seating but the weather didn't cooperate for that so we ate in the car. We would definitely go back!

As my work week came to its end, I saw Corral Drive-In on the map and HAD to stop by for a burger. I love the classic feel of the atmosphere. Ended up going with the Canadian bacon cheeseburger and would've never thought of it in a burger. After my initial bite, I thought to myself "Now THIS is a burger!" Definitely worth the stop and would recommend! Thank you Corral Drive-In!! I look forward to my next burger on my next trip to Long Beach! 😎

Super expensive like $50 for my husband and I for very little that took forever even though we were the only customers. $50 for 15 fries each not worth it. Sad we use to love this place.
Ashley I — Google review
Great little hole in the wall hamburger joint. Lots of choices to make everyone happy. Decent prices. The rosemary fries are the best! Milkshakes are great as well. Friendly, helpful employees. Not a place to eat at unless weather is decent, as the only place to eat is outside. We usually take the food to go and go to the beach!
Kimberly N — Google review
Tasty classic American burgers and fries! The 1/4 burger was a great size, fresh, and tasted great. The crinkle fries were tasty and the right amount of crispiness. The bacon was crispy and flavorful, definitely worth adding. You order inside a small lobby and pickup outside. There are a few picnic tables outside (half covered by a tent) and a single port-a-potty. There is no inside seating or bathroom. Plenty of free parking. Primarily a take out/eat in your car situation in the winter months. Love the large ketchup packets they include (that you can dip into). I was told the fry sauce was mostly mayo. Visited Jan 2024 and their sign shows closed on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

I cannot wrap my head around how this place has such good reviews..must be paid for, because our experience was awful. We waited 40 minutes for food when there was no one in line ahead of us. And what finally came out? Four kids’ burgers and two cheeseburgers. That’s it. Nearly $100 for basic burgers with absolutely nothing special about them. To top it off they gave us the wrong order. The service was horrible—slow, inattentive, and unapologetic. Honestly one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had.

It was a great cheese steak! Another reviewer recommended double meet/cheese and I agree. My wife didn't and I wouldn't have been as happy with my sandwich, had it had her amount. However... It's a pricey upgrade and in comparison, there definitely wasn't double on my sandwich compared to hers ... So that's my only reason for dropping the 5th star

Beachfire BBQ is a true gem nestled in Long Beach, Washington, renowned for its mouthwatering barbecue offerings. Diners rave about the generous portions of slow-roasted meats that are seasoned to perfection. The brisket stands out as a highlight—tender and moist with an impressive smoke ring and just the right amount of seasoning.
Incredible food, great owner. Best rib tips and brisket I've had in a while. Didn't even need BBQ sauce it was so flavorful, but we did it anyway. Grab extra honey peppercorn bourbon for your next grilled salmon!

Finally found an excellent brisket cooked the way it should be. Tender, moist, nice smoke ring, pepper rub with the right amount of seasoning. Generous portion for a great price. Had inside and outside tables that were clean, new, neat. The owner asked if I wanted a sample - "no" I want a plate after smelling the brisket a block away. Love the Mac & Cheese. What a great place.

This place has the most delicious BBQ. Definitely a hidden jewel in Long Beach. Try the pulled pork or brisket, both are amazing! The sides were delicious, too. Especially liked the Mac and cheese and the cole slaw. Generous portions. The restaurant is unpretentious and the staff is super friendly.

My family and I ate here on mother's day 2021. All in all it was just ok. Not worth the $60 we paid for it. The ribs didn't have much meat on them and were tough. The rib ends were like boot leather. Impossible to chew. The brisket was dry and over cooked. I've had better bbq. I do give the owner 5 stars tho. He was really nice and provided great service. When I asked about burnt ends (I never had them before) he gave us a free sample of them. The burnt ends were really good. The rest was just eh.

Yum! I got the brisket (wow yum) and my husband got a pulled pork and sausage sandwich that he said was amazing. We both got mac n cheese as our sides (again really yummy) he also got beans and I got a cornbread muffin with mine. Everything was so good! There were half a dozen or more sauces to choose from and we tried almost all of them, really good flavors! The guys working were kind and excited, you could tell there was a lot of love and dedication in that bbq! I believe the man working said their pit master is there at night smoking the meat and that it's over a 24 hour process. They're closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. We went on Wednesday last week and I already want to go back tomorrow!

Patty’s Fish Tacos & More is a cozy walk-in taco shop located in downtown Long Beach, WA. Patty Lopez and her husband, with 14 years of restaurant experience, opened this spot in May 2018. The menu features halibut tacos, carne asada tacos, crab chimichangas, nachos, and ceviche made with fresh ingredients.
Came to visit Long Beach it was a 5 hour drive to get here and stopped by this little cute place locally owned. The customer service was amazing here and they have outdoor seating which is great since I had my dog with me. Definitely recommend this place

We were there on Saturday around noon, and they already ran out of the Halibut. However, their cod fish and chip and cod taco were also fresh and very good. We love their pickle onion and carrot as well. The restaurant shared the parking lot with the museum, but it is limited.

Best fish tacos I’ve had outside of California! Such a cute spot with great seating in and outside. The folks running it are so sweet and everything we tried was perfect. The escabeche was amazing and the salsas are on point. Very authentic food with a coastal twist. 10/10
Cooper S — Google review
Freshly made and absolutely delicious!!! The owner and service were delightful and the food was up quickly; I cannot emphasize the freshness of literally each and every ingredient enough, the tasty home made tortillas were a game changer and the fish tacos were outstanding. The salsa bar was a great addition. You gotta add this cute little place to your lunch stop, you'll be glad you did.
Sara H — Google review
It's easy to tell why this place has such a high rating, from the home made tortillas to the hand battered locally caught halibut. The fish tacos come in an order of two (no individual fish tacos available), I belive it was about $20 for an order with a side of pico de gallo which was slightly spicy but complimented the fish perfectly and ate well with the provided toritilla chips. We also tried the "octodogs" which are hotdogs sliced to look like little octopus served on a bed of french fries, perfect for little kids and kids at heart. Overall a great experience with great food.
Eduardo J — Google review
Patty is amazing! It’s a small family run operation, if she’s open, please stop by! The fish tacos are spot on… fresh halibut, shredded cabbage, red fresh tomatoes, and great salsa. The salsa bar is fresh and the picketed onion relish is perfect on the taco. Please stop in and say hello, grab a quick taco to go or dine in!
Kat A — Google review
These tacos were so tasty that we went twice in one weekend! The halibut and shrimp tacos were our favorite, but I recommend adding a carne asada street taco to round out the order. And the escabeche bar alone justifies the visit.

Everything made fresh -pico de gallo, salsas, pickled carrots, onions and jalapeños, homemade batter-hand dipped fresh fish washed down with Mexican Coke, beer or margaritas! 😋 Family owned and operated, friendly service. You're a fool if you don't try this joint...

If you're in the Long Beach vicinity, I highly suggest checking out Serious Pizza for all your pizza cravings. The proprietor was serving us during our visit and was incredibly pleasant with our family. He informed us that they use the freshest ingredients available, which is evident in every delectable bite. Even my finicky 6-year-old son proclaimed it to be the best cheese pizza he's ever tasted!
We ordered 3 Family size pizzas and they were all delicious! The Italian was my favorite (it’s my go-to at any pizza place). The employees were busting their butts with non-stop to-go orders but took the time to be super friendly and customer service oriented. The crust is perfect for this style of pizza and I wish we had this place in Issaquah! Also, love the 80’s theme-:)

It has been a while since I have eaten here and the last time was awesome. High prices even then, but still good. Tonight, not so much. The calzone I ordered was burnt and extremely dry. It was supposed to be a 3 cheese calzone and only had ricotta in it, at least what I could see and taste. The dryness of the inside was like paste in your mouth. Very few ingredients were put in the inside. When I pay over $15 for a calzone, that's not a very big one mind you, I expect it to have more than just a few pieces of candaian bacon and mushrooms. I mean, come on. We are on the precipice of a Medieval, secular economy, meaning the common folk be broke and we are about to start foraging for food. Prices are too expensive as it is and when I want to take a night off from cooking, it sucks to pay so much for way less than par food. Sadly, I will not be coming back to this place. And of course, I ate what I could before waving the white flag because I'm hungry and spent the money on it. I'll just make my own from now on, screw that misery.

Thank you Amber for going above and beyond to make my surprise romantic evening at the beach so so special. His favorite pizza in the world, my favorite place in the world. At sunset. Can't go wrong. Love you guys.

As someone that also owns a business I do not want to poop on their rating. This is more my experience and it can be used anyway it needs to be. My experience at Serious Pizza was pretty serious. The person making the pizza was having a time. It was obvious. So you have to let that go a bit. That said the main issue for me is there is no way this pizza was made Neapolitan style. In no way am I the pizza king but no. It literally felt like pizza from the airport. Also and this not uncommon but again my experience. Why do so many pizza places offer a small (8") pizza that is almost always made and tastes different than when a regular size is made. Again this is not uncommon but it comes across as not being on it. Also stuffed a 25% tip in the jar and not even a grunt. This was before the pizza was delivered and was done because I felt bad for them.

3/6/22 Delicious Salad and Pizza! I forgot the name of the pizza but it had amazing chicken sausage on it. I had planned on taking a photo but we devoured the pizza too quickly. I did get a picture of my delicious arugula, pear salad. The greens were so fresh and crisp, the dressing was very light. It was wonderful. Probably the best arugula salad I’ve ever had! When I arrived, I didn’t even need to call. I was a little early for my pick-up so I had planned on sitting in the car for a little while. A very nice man promptly came out to greet me and let me know that the pizza was running true to pick up time. He offered their special crushed red pepper flakes and told me about the process of making them. He told me about the quality of the sausage they use for the pizza as well. It was all simple and pleasant. I had to try to it see if it was truly as good as my friend kept saying it was. It was fantastic. The crust was divine. Not a single morsel went to waste.

The pizza here is absolutely fantastic. The staff are extremely friendly, and the owner walked around ensuring that everyone's food was to satisfaction, even going so far as to refill drinks. The decor is classy and the open atmosphere comfortable. There is also a nice, partially-enclosed outdoor seating area. A bit of a wait is always expected when grabbing made-to-order brick oven pizza, so the 20 minutes we waited wasn't too bad. The prices are about average for the area, but expect close to $25 for a more artisan 15" pizza. The clam chowder is also good, but note that it's made with whole clams, shells and all. The dining area and restrooms were kept clean, which is always an appreciated touch. Overall, we would gladly eat here again and recommend Serious Pizza to almost anyone.

Due to other peoples rating we decided to try their Hawaiian pizza. Unfortunately the crust had absolutely no taste and the top was a little burnt. Tasted worse than cardboard pizza. Won't be ordering here anymore .

The pizza here is delicious! We ate before I could even take a photo (see the half eaten cheese bread). The pizza is super thin crust, and you can only order small or large, but I would definitely recommend stopping here. They also have a dog friendly patio!

At The Helm Hotel & Waterline Pub is a charming boutique hotel located across from the port, offering cozy and casual accommodations. Guests have praised the warm hospitality and spacious, well-equipped rooms with thoughtful amenities like a wine fridge and filtered water. The on-site Waterline Pub provides a pleasant dining experience with delicious food, including homemade chips, and a selection of local beers. Visitors also appreciate the stunning views from the terrace and the welcoming atmosphere of both the hotel and pub.
The wife and I stayed here during a trip up the coast a couple of weeks ago. I will say I've stayed in a couple spots in and near illwaco now, and for a small fishing town, this place is luxury. If you are someone accustomed to a little more fancy and staying in this awesome little town, this is your place. Whoever put together the rooms did a great job. Each room is a little different with its own touch. The upstairs rooms are a little more spacious. The complimentary beer or wine on arrival is an awesome perk. I wish I remembered the gals name who took care of us, but she did great getting us booked unannounced, helping us get situated before the hockey game started while also running the restaurant.

Highly recommend! Upon arriving we were greeted with a smile and offered a glass of wine, beer or cider. We stayed in Elena N, a beautiful corner room full of windows that let in a lot of natural light with wonderful views of the harbor. Ilwaco is a small marina with mainly offshore fishing charters so don’t be surprised when you hear a few starting up to motor out. The bed was luxurious, we left the windows cracked for the ocean air. Breakfast was served promptly in room and perfectly delicious. Waterline Pub in house has a fabulous menu and outdoor seating with a fire pit, we enjoyed the seasonal offerings. This is an adults only hotel so keep that in mind when booking.

We stopped in to have lunch while at the Saturday Market. We got there when they were opening and had to wait a few minutes on the patio to get service and that was fine. The waitress was very sweet. My sister is gluten intolerant so she was asking about substitutions to a dish or two but we were told the chef prefers to keep his dishes by the recipe so she opted not to eat which was unfortunate. The food was really good but it did take over an hour to get it. This is the second time we've been there and it does take time to get your food so be prepared for that. Sitting on the patio is nice because you can people watch and have a cocktail while you wait. I've never stayed in the rooms yet but we were in town for our brothers wedding and they stayed there so they must like the rooms. I did hear they didn't get there breakfast in the morning as they expected not sure why.

If you want a low key yet beautiful and accommodating hotel, this is the place to be! Beautiful woodwork all throughout. Beds are extremely comfortable. Sauna and hot tub are cedar and so relaxing! We spent a whole week there and had the hotel to ourselves! No other guests. It was quiet and peaceful. The owner comes in every morning and makes a delicious breakfast. The restaurant on the ground floor has delicious food and drinks. The hotel has a no kids policy. It is quiet and clean. The towels are nice and thick. The showers are awesome. 10 out of 10 we will stay here again!

My husband and I stayed here over the weekend and overall had a decent experience, though the first night was a bit rough. We stayed in the Prowler room. Pros: -Smooth check-in and check-out -Noon check-out time (love it!) -Great showers with plenty of towels in hotel room -Complimentary breakfast delivered to your door -Room had TV and decent Wi-Fi Cons: -No lock on the bathroom door, and had a door stop because it doesn't stay open on its own -Only one physical room key (even for 2 guests) -Broken window that wouldn’t close -One bedside lamp was out -No peep hole on the door -Fireplace had no oil -Noise from the downstairs kitchen carried through vents after quiet hours (especially frustrating when trying to sleep) The restaurant downstairs had a friendly atmosphere. We were also given a complimentary cider, wine, or beer for being hotel guests. We were seated quickly Friday night and food came out fast, though we had to wait quite awhile for silverware. Staff were very apologetic though. The grown-up mac and cheese was okay, just very oily. Staff seemed overwhelmed when a large group arrived, and wanted to be seated and served outside due to the inside being full. We later overheard some tense arguments from the kitchen staff about it around 11pm (Workers yelling at each other about not feeling appreciated and wanting to walk out during dinner service). The hotel desk workers should not be wait staff as well. It seems to make it difficult for them to be fully attentive to hotel guests and customers of the restaurant. In the morning expect noise around 4am from people going fishing. We had our window open for fresh air and it got pretty loud. The next morning (Saturday) was not as loud....or I was so exhausted I slept through the noise. The kitchen noise wasn't as bad Saturday night and it stopped around quiet hours luckily. It’s a charming spot with potential, but be prepared for a few quirks and noise depending on the night. It's a laid back hotel/pub restaurant. Not a 5 star hotel in my opinion.

This is a rustic and comfortable hotel. Located across from the Illwaco harbor. We had a large room with a very comfortable bed. A full breakfast is delivered to your room. There's a bar and restaurant on the first floor, good food and an extensive drink menu. We enjoyed our relaxing stay - the hostess was very helpful.

I recently stayed at At the Helm hotel and have reached out to management about my concerns but have not received any response. At check-in, we were told the windows in our room were damaged and could potentially fall off if used, which made the room feel unsafe. The hotel is advertised as child-free, yet that evening there were children in the upstairs viewing area who were able to see directly into our room. Guests should also be informed that while children may not stay overnight, they are still allowed on the campus. I was in my nightgown at the time and felt very uncomfortable due to the lack of privacy. Guests should definitely be informed if their room is visible from the outlook area so they can take precautions. We also specified no meat at check-in, but were served a breakfast containing meat. It seems dietary preferences aren’t always communicated to the kitchen. Additionally, the room lacked teas and fresh cream as advertised on the website, which was a letdown. To add to the inconvenience, we received a phone call after 10 p.m. with the entrance code because it wasn’t provided during check-in. Receiving such important information so late was frustrating. These issues affected the overall quality of our stay. I hope the management will take these concerns seriously to improve future guests’ experiences.
Julia S — Google review
Unfortunately, this was one of the worst hotel experiences I've had, despite some redeeming qualities. The front desk staff were kind and courteous, but they were clearly overwhelmed; they were also responsible for serving as bar staff, which left them stretched thin during busy periods. Our room, which was guaranteed for a 4:00 p.m. check in, wasn’t ready until nearly an hour later. That delay set the tone for a frustrating stay. Throughout the night, we were repeatedly disturbed by people walking the hallways and even trying our door handle, possibly mistaking our room for another. It was unsettling and disruptive. The noise from the room above us was relentless; it sounded like heavy boots stomping around almost hourly, including at 4 a.m. Presumably, this was from guests preparing for early fishing trips, which is understandable, but the lack of insulation made it impossible to sleep. The toilet and plumbing noise from the room above us was shockingly loud, waking us every time it flushed, which was often. To top it off, the TV didn’t work at all. Even after following the provided instructions for navigating the "no connection" screen, nothing fixed it. Between the late check in, the hallway disturbances, the noise from above, and the unworkable TV, it ended up being a completely sleepless night. We were really looking forward to this trip but left feeling exhausted and disappointed. I would recommend staying elsewhere unless significant changes are made.

Roots is a fantastic little establishment that stands out due to its early opening hours and delectable offerings for breakfast and lunch. Customers have raved about the wonderfully fresh sandwiches, salads, and smoothies available. The Turkey Bacon Club sandwich with avocado is particularly noteworthy for its freshness and expert assembly. In addition, the Chef salad impresses with its generous size and remarkable freshness.
Okay so this AMAZING little gem is one of the only breakfast/lunch spots open at 7am and worth your business. We called in to try them out and we are so happy we did. We got 2 fantastically fresh sandwiches, a full salad and a smoothie. Now my sandwich (Turkey Bacon Club +avo) was so fresh and put together nice and neat. Not thrown together in a hurry and just the right amount of everything in it. The Chef salad I split with my wife was HUGE and was also spectacularly fresh. The smoothie however was the best... Refreshing, tasty, smooth and hands down one of the best I've hand in years with it's perfectly blended organic ingredients. This is a must stop for anyone looking for fresh, organic, quality breakfast or lunch options with a super friendly staff.

Grabbed sandies and lattes. Both fantastic. Vanilla latte didn’t have that artificial sweet flavor most do. The west coastie sandwich on everything was killer. My wife loved the plant powered sando as well. The woman working front of house was super friendly! We will be back, prob for lunch.

I cannot say enough lovely things about this amazing little gem near Cape Disappointment! I ended up having breakfast here every day I was in Long Beach, and on two days I had both breakfast and lunch here. That was not my plan for my Long Beach trip, but after my first amazing breakfast I could not stay away! I fell in absolute love with their Forget The Meat breakfast sandwich on a croissant, and the Veggie Sandwich on Sourdough for lunch. Mercy they were so good! The lavender lemonade was a wonderful sweet refresher, and my Saint Bernard adored their super-special puppucino treats. Thanks for an amazing place to eat on my beach getaway, you guys rock! Update June 2022: still great. Took a trip with my daughter and three doggos, and this was on my must-eat list for the trip. Did not disappoint!

Oh my the "West Coastie" was the most delicious breakfast sandwich I have ever tasted.. the combination of the jalapeno, spinach, onion and mustard with turkey bacon and egg on a loaded bagel war the perfect combination bursting with flavor, mouth watery deliciousness. It's guaranteed to make the mouth sing!!

This is, hands down, a place you MUST visit when you're in the area! They have such incredible fresh food, juice, and smoothie options. Everything is made to order, packed with flavor, and the staff are some of the kindest people you could find! I love how easy it is to customize everything as well. I'm so happy to have found Roots

When I'm visiting smaller towns I often get frustrated by the lack of healthy food and I start longing for something green and not deep fried after a few days of eating non-stop heavy oily foods. Hence I am so glad I tried Roots. It's a cute little drive-thru that has large delicious salads, healthy sandwiches, coffee, healthy juices, rebel drinks & smoothies. As an added bonus it has a great selection of vegetarian items in a town that has so few elsewhere. My salad was colorful and delicious and I will DEFINITELY be eating here again. My only gripes are that they close pretty early so grab your food before 1:30 and for some reason they forgot to include beets & microgreens in my salad (so check your order before you leave unlike me).

This place is amazing! We came here twice the 2days we stayed in Long Beach because the food and smoothies are so delicious! Only place that had fresh smoothies with iption to add protein powder!!! I wish we had a roots in Seattle. We will 100% be back thr next time we come to town! (I got the basic on an everything bagel and the blueberry smoothies with n extra scoop of protein. Both were scrumptious!)

Their West Coast Sandwich on everything bagel is to die for. Freshly made, not nuked. Simply spectacular. Espresso is nice and smooth, not burned or bitter. Outdoor seating creates a relaxing morning environment. I highly recommend Roots.
