The Rebecca Nurse Homestead is a historic site located just a few kilometers from Salem, Massachusetts. It was the former home of Rebecca Nurse, an innocent elderly woman who was executed during the Salem Witch Trials in 1692. The homestead offers visitors an authentic experience of the witch hysteria that gripped the community in the late 1600s. In addition to learning about this dark period in history, visitors can explore the beautiful garden, house, and grounds surrounding the property.
I visited for an atlatl spear throwing event during Trails & Sails in September 2024. This was a niche interest but open to a wide audience. The grounds of the homestead were a perfect venue for the event. I hope to return to visit the interior of the house.

Essential to Fully Understanding the Salem Witch Trials My daughter (13) and I visited The Rebecca Nurse Homestead on July 1, 2025. The guides at the site were both helpful and very knowledgeable. Rebecca Nurse was a key figure in the Salem Witch Trials. Her story is important because it highlights the hysteria and injustice of the trials, the devastating impact on innocent individuals, and ultimately, the eventual shift in public opinion the helped bring the trials to a close. Rebecca Nurse's story is not just one of tragedy. Her family and descendants have worked to preserve her memory and ensue that her legacy is one of resilience and a reminder of the importance of justice and integrity. To fully understand the events of the Salem Witch Trials take time to visit The Rebecca Nurse Homestead.

A beautiful location to visit to get to know one of the many victims of the 1692 Salem Witch Trials - this property was a wonderful experience, including the family cemetery (George Burroughs is also in this cemetery now as well who was murdered during the hysteria), and a great tour each hour. You buy tickets at the property, they are not available online.
Holly G — Google review
Such a beautiful, peaceful property. A place you must visit to begin the journey into the history of the Salem witch trials. The story of Rebecca Nurse and all the victims makes this place sacred ground.
Kerry C — Google review
We visited today and had an absolutely amazing experience. The tour is included in the price, and I highly recommend taking it. Our tour guide Lisa was absolutely amazing, super knowledgeable. Because we had a small group, she was able to tailor the tour to our particular interests, as well as answer all our questions and expand on them. I love history, and this was truly one of the best historical tours I’ve been on. There is an audio tour available, but it does not compare to the live tour. That said, it is helpful for the burial plot, which the guided tour does not cover. If you are interested in learning the actual history of the trials, the Nurse family, colonial life, and more, not the sensationalized version, I highly recommend visiting.
Priscilla S — Google review
We visited here last weekend. It was interesting. Didn’t give it five stars because you couldn’t tour the entire house, only one room. The walk out to the cemetery was refreshing. Cemetery was historical.
B — Google review
We went to Danvers and Salem hoping to learn lots about the history of the witch trials and we sure did! This was one of our favourite places on our visit. I loved going through the homes and through the cemetery to pay my respects to some of the victims of the witch trials and their families. The workers here were so friendly and kind. I also love that this place is maintained by volunteers. It really shows how much community means to MA and makes me want to find similar initiatives near my home! Thank you for such a great experience!
Jac N — Google review
So worth while! If I could do my Salem trip again (we came from Michigan) I’d start here first instead of last and here’s why. We did two other tours in Salem while there and we got some conflicting stories about things BUT our tour guide at Rebecca Nurses house (I believe her name was Lisa) was hands down the bomb. She told us stuff the other tour guides didn’t mention and things even in general about Salem in that time not just about Rebecca Nurses house. She was a plethora of information! She gave us not only her opinions but even was talking about why what is believed to be the reason why or why not they did happen, even sighting a scientific journal- this girl knows her stuff! What was supposed to be a 30 minute tour ended up being almost an hour and half bc she was so receptive with letting us ask her questions. And the way she delivered said information was so engaging. This woman was a real gem to this whole experience for me.

Nature & Parks
Endicott Park is a sprawling 165-acre recreational area in Danvers, offering a picturesque landscape with woodlands, meadows, orchards, and preserved historic farm buildings. Visitors can explore walking trails and gravel roads that lead to a pond and marshes. The park is home to various farm animals such as horses, sheep, goats, chickens, ducks, and a cow. Additionally, there's a nature center hosting educational programs for both kids and adults.
Has been a great place to bring the family or just walk around by yourself to clear your mind. The playground is newer with more safety features. The animals are taken care of and healthy looking. Small little trails around the park make you feel more in touch with the outdoors.
Dann F — Google review
What a beautiful park!!! It's the perfect park for everyone! If you are into yoga, bring your mat. Picnic? Perfect for picnics, for families or couples. There's a farm with so many cute animals., the kids love them. There's an actual playground for kids and plenty seats for parents to seat and watch the kids play.
Luz G — Google review
Nice spot to chill solo or in family, as there’s a picnic area, a pond, a walking/running path, a god park and a playground.
Jusny L — Google review
Amazing place! So scenic and quiet. There is a huge playground for littles. A lifecourse trail that is 1.8 miles long and it was wonderful. Farm animals and a little farm house to walk thru. Overall my new favorite park!
Chelsea C — Google review
Very nice and well maintained park.We love coming here with kids.
Lusine S — Google review
Such a beautiful public space during this time of year. You could smell the lilacs in the air, all the flowers are blooming & there are tons of grassy areas where you can let your kids run around, walk your dog or go for a nice walk and unwind. We visited today to take pictures before the Everett Senior Prom. The photos came out beautifully & there were so many private areas throughout the park, allowing for a lot of different groups of kids to take pictures without holding eachother up. As I drove out I noticed there is also a great playground area that is fenced in. This would be a fantastic place to take younger kids for a few hours, they could have a picnic lunch on the grass, in the shade & the kids could go and play at the park after.
Amanda A — Google review
This is a lovely park hidden in Danvers! It has quite a lot from a pond, to animals, to a garden, to a playground. My youngest loved seeing the horses, goats, chickens, ducks, goats, and pigs. We were only there for a short time, but i will make sure to come back when I'm in the area Parking is free on the weekdays but costs $5 for non-residents on the weekends. I think it's worth the price because there's a lot packed in on the grounds, and you could spend the whole day exploring. Bring a picnic lunch and you'll be all set.
Monique — Google review
Excellent place friendly staff $2 for danvers residents and $4 for non residents no change given so that $20 I paid to park was a good donation. I would consider it worth the extra I paid to park because I would have donated to buy a bale of hay with the same amount. My kids loved all the animals and the playground

"The House of the Seven Gables" is a restored 1668 home in Salem, Massachusetts that inspired Nathaniel Hawthorne's novel. The house offers tours and features verdant seaside gardens. While Salem has its share of somber architecture, there is more to the city than brooding structures like this historic house. A walk down Chestnut Street reveals lighter yet historically significant homes from the Colonial era.
We visited the House of The Seven Gables for the first time this week and were absolutely blown away!! Our tour guide, Stephen, was extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic. His delivery of information about the history of the grounds and house was engaging and entertaining!! We absolutely loved the experience. Climbing up the hidden staircase was thrilling, as was just taking in the scenic views from the second floor rooms. The tour was lovely, the front desk, gift shop, and other staff members were accommodating and friendly. We would love to return, perhaps in the autumn or winter, but I can imagine that it is perfect at any time of year.

Never read the book, but looked interesting, my wife had and wanted to go. The tie guide was very knowledgeable in the story, the home, architecture, hawthorne and his lineage and she made the tour very enjoyable. The grounds are beautiful and also very interesting. One great thing i never knew was the effort to help people gain legal citizenship through classes which also help teach English. Really great to know money from my tour goes to this. A wonderful cause.
Jonathan P — Google review
The House of the Seven Gables is one of Salem’s crown jewels - part museum, part literary landmark, part seaside retreat. It’s always busy, especially during peak Halloween season, so it’s best to reserve tickets in advance if you want to tour the interior. Even if tours are sold out, don’t skip it: the reduced-fare grounds ticket (around $15) is still a great value. It grants access to the scenic property, the gift shop, the restrooms, the Hawthorne birth home, and some of the outlying buildings, plus the stunning waterfront area. Between the historic architecture, the sea breeze, and the view of the harbor, it’s a peaceful escape from downtown’s chaos. The guided tour of the main Gables house is a highlight as it’s informative without being dry, blending stories of the real Turner family with Hawthorne’s inspiration for his classic novel. Walking through the low-ceilinged rooms, antique furnishings, and especially climbing the narrow hidden staircase tucked inside the walls is a thrill for any history or literature lover. The guides do an excellent job of capturing both the historical and literary importance of the site while keeping things engaging for visitors of all ages. The self-guided Hawthorne birth home, meanwhile, is smaller but equally fascinating, displaying authentic period furniture and personal items tied to Hawthorne’s family. The grounds themselves are worth lingering in. Between the gardens, cobblestone paths, and panoramic views of the waterfront, there’s no shortage of photo opportunities or places to simply sit and take in the atmosphere. On warm days, the wind coming off the water makes it a perfect spot to cool down and relax before heading back toward the bustle of Essex Street. The gift shop deserves its own mention too, stocked with locally inspired books, literary souvenirs, and even games that tie into Salem’s history. Whether you’re there for Hawthorne, colonial history, or just the coastal New England charm, the House of the Seven Gables absolutely lives up to its legend.

We went in September and the gardens were in bloom and it was not crowded. Our guide made our experience very enjoyable. The gift shop has item such as tee shirts saying I survived the secret staircase. For seniors admission five dollars less. I am not sure but the proceeds go towards the economy of the town of Salem. There is a lot of walking to be done but there are benches in places. There are great views of the water to.

This was a treat for me being that I read the book. Its a very neat tour and a very cool house and the grounds are SPECTACULAR. It has very little to do with the Salem Witches though. If you like old buildings and historical feeling things, this may be worth it for you. If you skip the house tour your won't be missing anything truly relevant to the trials or Halloween. I do recommend the grounds tour though. Especially if you love a majestic view. The pictures I took do not do it justice. Also, no ghosts were felt or spotted during the tour.
Cherri G — Google review
Purchase tickets in advance!! There are a lot of stairs with some being very narrow. Low ceilings as well just FYI. Definitely worth it though. Amazing experience! It was wonderful tour full of information an surprises! Parking is included with your tour ticket. You can park about 20 mins prior to your tour time and stay for 1 hour after your tour ends.
Marcos P — Google review
It was a great experience and our tour guild was informative and funny. My only issue is they gave you a map of the grounds but not the inside of the house so i felt a little lost in the house. But overall a good visit.
EJ 1 — Google review
Cool tour. If you are into early American history, or literature you'll love this tour. This is a house built in the early 1600's and has survived and been restored over the years. A relative of the author, Nathaniel Hawthorne, was a famous American author and visiting this house and listening to his aunt tell him stories of growing up in this house inspired him to write the House of the Seven Gables novel. Has rooms restored to the time period, and original antique furniture and home pieces. The coolest part is a secret stairway that goes behind the fireplace up to the attic. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable.

The Witch House, also known as The Jonathan Corwin House, is a historic home in Salem that offers guided and self-guided tours focusing on 17th-century life and the Salem Witch Trials. As the only remaining structure with strong ties to the witch trials of 1692, this well-preserved house from the 1600s features period furniture and clothing, providing a wealth of knowledge about Salem's history.
It’s a 17th century house now turned museum with a great deal of information about the witch trials and day to day life during that time. Tickets were only $12 so if you like old buildings or would be interested in the actual history behind the area definitely go for it. You buy the tickets in the gift shop at the back of the house
Jarod A — Google review
Such an icon to visit! This was the first time I had gone into the little gift shop around back, haven't walked through the museum though. Some neat items for purchase but the real attraction is the house itshelf! So much history and such a beautiful sight!
Shauna T — Google review
“The Witch House is famous because it is the only surviving building in Salem with direct ties to the 1692 Witchcraft Trials, as it was the home of Judge Jonathan Corwin. Corwin was a magistrate who presided over many of the pre-trial examinations for the accused, making his home a significant historical landmark and a popular destination for those interested in Salem's history. The house is now a museum open to the public. “ I went during October on a Monday and it was pretty easy to get around and take pictures of. I did not go inside. “Captain Nathaniel Davenport originally owned the land where the Witch House at 310 Essex Street now resides. While Davenport started construction of the house, it was left unfinished when Jonathan Corwin bought it in 1675.”
Andrea C — Google review
Amazing! Don’t just walk though, talk to the historians there to learn about the house! I could have spent all day with these ladies. I learned so much about the time period, construction, etc. so many people will just walk through. Stop and pause and it’s amazing! Also the proceeds from this experience pay for many of the other Salem historical sites. Definitely worthy, talk to the guides!
Melissa G — Google review
We went through this. Another pick I am happy to have done. Neat to see what "rich" looked like back then. Lots of history. Lots of reading!! Take your time through it but it's only so big. 20-30 minutes should be enough to read it all and experience it. You can take pictures.
Kinza A — Google review
I'm not sure if you should, or could, but tickets in advance because we didn't have to. We walked right in, paid and went straight into the exhibit. It's fascinating that this house still stands. They did say all the items, and furniture, etc were not used by the family. Those items are part of another exhibit at another museum. It's pretty rad to step into a piece of history like that and I highly recommend you visit. It wasn't crowded but the exhibit space is small and I could see it getting crowded.
Kristen R — Google review
The Witch House of Salem is a fascinating place to visit and a must-see for anyone interested in the history of the witch trials. The house itself is beautifully preserved, and walking through the rooms gives you an authentic glimpse into 17th-century life. The exhibits are informative, and the staff is knowledgeable, making the experience both educational and engaging. It’s a quick stop, but a memorable one—rich with history and atmosphere. I recommend for anyone exploring Salem!
Sarah S — Google review
We have "visited" the Witch House twice now. The first time? It was completely closed to our knowledge. The 2nd, and most recent time, it was open and doing tours, but as it is NOT ACCESSIBLE for those in wheelchairs, I was not able to partake, so please keep that in mind. It is a beautiful, historically rich house, that you can at least pose in front of and/or take pictures of, and if you are doing the History-Walking Tour of Salem or you are just a history nerd like myself, it is worth the visit. I have heard the inside is super neat to see and worth the ticket purchase at least once in your life. Hopefully the 3rd time we visit I'll finally be able to see the inside. There is no parking lot, so find a public parking lot and pay to park, or if you are staying in Salem, take the walk down to the site.

Nestled in the charming town of Danvers, Glen Magna Farms is a stunning estate that boasts a rich history dating back to 1814. Originally established by Salem merchant Joseph Peabody, this grand property spans an impressive 330 acres and showcases its beautiful Georgian Revival architecture from the late 19th century. The grounds are particularly noteworthy, having been designed by renowned landscape architects Frederick Law Olmsted and Joseph Chamberlain, making it a picturesque setting for weddings and events.
We worked directly with Heather before officially booking for our August 2024 wedding, and Tiffini was the key person in making our wedding run extra smooth leading up to and on the day of. Her experience in the wedding industry and solid advice she gave during the decision-making process made us feel confident we had chosen the right venue and was gifted the best talent to execute our dream fairytale wedding. My husband and I are very particular, and she listened to and met every one of our needs. Not only is she very patient and understanding, but her attention to detail, organization and ability to delegate (even the rowdiest, unorganized of crowds), is impressive. She didn’t miss a beat, and I’m grateful to have had someone take the lead so I could relax… what every bride needs! You will be in wonderful hands booking Glen Magna for your next event! Highly recommend this venue and commend the coordinators for all the work they do! Thank you Glen Magna, and thank you Tiffini!
Tayla D — Google review
Glen Magna was truly absolute perfection. We had our wedding in early August, and the flowers were magnificent! The grounds, the house, the tent, it was all just incredibly beautiful. The staff at Glen Magna were also incredible from everything leading up to the wedding to the wedding day. They were attentive, responsive, and made everything in my vision come true. The catering was also exceptional. People are still bringing up the food at our wedding. And, working with the caterers was an exceptional experience, too. The variety of options was amazing, and the food was actually delicious. Everyone thought so! If I could change anything about Glen Magna, it would be to do it all over again! I cannot say enough about the staff, the building, the grounds, the ambiance, the food, etc., etc., etc. Thank you, Glen Magna, for allowing me to have a wedding that exceeded my dreams!

Please choose Glen magna for you venue! Every detail is perfect. The food, the grounds, the entire staff, everything is perfect. Heather was a pleasure to work with and made every part of planning easy and fun! Vinwood was also incredible and everything we chose for our menu was delicious. This was the venue of my dreams and I am so beyond pleased with every single detail.

I wanted to share my impressions of the property, which I found to be a truly beautiful setting for creating special memories. The care and attention to detail in maintaining the property were evident throughout. The main house was immaculate, and the gardens and surrounding areas were equally well-kept.

Glen Magna was the absolute PERFECT venue for our wedding. The gardens and tent are gorgeous- we got absolutely stunning photos throughout the property, and there are so many good spots for photos! Cocktail hour on the lawn is so pretty, and the tent is stunning. The food from Vinwood was also incredible, and the service throughout the entire evening was top notch! Cannot say enough good things about Glen Magna, I am so glad we had our wedding here!!
Olivia J — Google review
We got married at Glen Magna this summer and it was an incredible experience. The grounds are absolutely gorgeous- if you don’t believe the photos, you have to go and check it out for yourself. They’re so well maintained and there are literally so many different locations to take be stunning photos. More importantly, the staff is amazing. Working with Tiffini leading up to the wedding and day off was so seamless. They accommodated all of my requests and were super helpful with rain back up plans and ensuring that the guests had an awesome time. We’re so grateful that we picked Glen Magna as our wedding location and couldn’t recommend it more enthusiastically!
Lucy L — Google review
We had a wonderful time coming out and supporting the historical society. This place is literally five minutes from our house. Great “Dad” music, food and refreshments. The grounds were great to walk around and the tea house was a delight as was all the statuary. We helped a couple take a “ten years later” Wedding Photo and received lots of compliments on our portable table. All in all a really fun night out.

My partner and I frequent Danvers often and although I knew of the Glen Magna Farms, I had never been, and decided at our last outing in Danvers to stop by. We saw a tent being erected for a Weekend Wedding and walked onto the grounds and were greeted by Christian Clemson, Restoration Manager of the Danvers Historical Society. We shared stories of our appreciation for the preservation of our special Gems, and the appreciation of the "Trustees' who have as an organization maintained some of the finest properties in Massachusetts. Christian Clemson was a pleasure to speak with, and although the work being done for the upcoming wedding, required some oversight and supervision, he granted us permission to walk the property and guided us to some of the most picturesque areas of the grounds. We were there long enough to capture the beauty of the grounds and knew it was a special place. Preserved well and despite the cost to maintain a beautiful New England treasure complements to Christian for his knowledge and his pride in being part of the Danvers Historical Society. It was quite a pleasure meeting and speaking with him on that day and we were so happy we stopped by ... it was a worthwhile journey. Bill Girolamo Melrose Ma

The Endecott Pear Tree is conveniently located near other attractions such as Proctor's Ledge and the Salem Parsonage. While it may be slightly difficult to locate, being situated between a hospital and senior living apartments, it is worth including in your itinerary. In 2021, it can be identified by a nearby trailer displaying a COVID testing sign. Positioned behind a guardrail, the tree is easily visible with prior knowledge of its location.
The Endecott Pear Tree is so close to all of the other attractions. We went from Proctor's Ledge, to Endecott Pear Tree, and right on to the Salem Parsonage. It's worth adding to your route but it was a bit tricky to find. The gps took us to the hospital. The tree is in between the hospital and a set of senior living apartments. If you're going in 2021, it is next to a trailer with a sign about COVID testing. It is right behind the guardrail and easy to see if you know where/what you're looking for. There is a small sign at the top.

Since I was in the area, I had to visit the Endecott Pear Tree in Danvers, officially the “oldest cultivated tree in America plated ca. 1632” according to a nearby plaque erected by the National Society Colonial Dames XVII Century. The pear tree was a bit of a let down, as it is behind a fence and too old to grow pears.
Abigail E — Google review
It’s fascinating to think about the many that things have come and gone around this seemingly simple fruit tree, and it continues to endure! It may not be a fabulous destination for everyone, but an off-the-beaten-path spot for a few who can imagine and appreciate its place in the world. Enjoy pondering this diminutive natural wonder while touring history sites the area.
Alec G — Google review
Surrounded by a parking lot with trash around the tree and in the tree! Really lame!
Megan K — Google review
It is hard to find the tree, as it is in the back of a company parking lot. For those of you who have a difficult time finding it, we parked in the "I" parking section and walked West. It will be on your left. Beautiful tree with amazing history, but seemingly tucked away and forgotten.
Shawnee — Google review
Some might say this is just a boring tree and who cares, but not me. I am in admiration that there is a tree that has been protected from corporate suburban sprawl. With the changes coming to the area, I hope it stays there for another 100 years and bears fruit. Thank you to the organization that raised money for the fence and the plaque.

Salem Village Parsonage is a significant historical site that played a pivotal role in the Salem witch hysteria. Built in 1681, it was home to Reverend George Burroughs during the infamous trials. The parsonage witnessed the imprisonment of around 150 people and the deaths of 25 individuals due to the witch hysteria. Despite being somewhat hidden, visiting this site offers a profound understanding of the events that unfolded here.
I'm a Salem resident and I am on a mission to tour all the local attractions AND historical sites. About this one: If you are visiting the area to learn more about the Salem Witch Trials, you should make a quick stop at this site. Here, Reverend Samuel Parris of Salem Village lived with his family and here happened the first afflictions that led to the whole hysteria. His daughter Betty and niece Abigail named their slave Tituba as one of the witches afflicting them and the rest - unfortunately - is history. Finding the place is not necessarily hard, but if you drive in front of it and you blink, you might miss it! Look for the blue sign between two houses (this is a residential area) and next to a narrow pathway. You cannot park on Centre Street but I typically park on any of the side roads. If you walk the path, you'll find at the end of it the historic site, consisting of the remaining of the cellar of the house and some foundations. The archeological site was brought back to life in the 70s and it's a place of exceptional historical importance. If you walk around the same neighborhood and check online their locations, you can also stop by the spots where the Ingersoll tavern was (not an historical site now) and the Meeting House (across the memorial, now a residential lot). PROs A remarkable piece of history, a constant reminder of a painful past not to be forgotten. It is of course free to visit and you can take as many pictures as you want. CONs Visiting the Salem Village Parsonage is going to be, understandably, a somber, definitely underwhelming, experience. It is well maintained but you can't shake the feeling that it is kept "hidden" from the eyes of possible visitors.

Origin of the Witchcraft Hysteria My daughter (13) and I visited the Salem Village Parsonage on July 1, 2025. The location is down a path between 67 and 69 Centre street. While the site might not get a lot of notoriety it serves as ground zero for the events of the Salem Witch Trials. The site is where in 1692 Reverend Samuel Parris was living when the "fits" experienced by his daughter and niece, along with his slave Tituba's stories of witchcraft took place. These events are considered the initial triggers of the hysteria. While the parsonage no longer stands, its location and the events that transpired there remain a crucial part of the Salem Witch Trials narrative.

As a researcher into the Salem Witch trials during the late 17th century, I was in awe by this archeological site—specifically, by Tituba and her impactful presence during this time. Her story is so important and being able to be a witness to this space, was simply heart-wrenching, captivating, and so historical. This little hidden gem is such a great thing to discover, and if you blink, you might miss it! It’s located between 2 houses, but it is a public space for anyone to come and visit. Parking is definitely limited. But this is a transformative place to visit.
Juliet C — Google review
A well kept site that holds significant historical value! Definitely has a very somber feel to the area. While it was smaller than I thought it would be it was nice that you can interact with the small portion of the original structure that is still standing. It can be easy to miss and you do have to park on the street and walk down a dirt path between houses in a neighborhood. There were chickens roaming free from one of the houses surrounding the site which just made it easier for me to picture how the area probably once was.
Rowena M — Google review
Truly fantastic to be able to see where history took place, the epicenter of the main American which-trial story. It's a little behind the house, down a green alley with some chickens as guards.
Aaron B — Google review
One of creepiest place I've ever been, and I frequent abandonded buildings. Ground zero for the salem witch hysteria. The stones directing your path still have marks from wagon wheels. You can almost see the Parsons girls gathered around Tituba listening to her stories.
Anita H — Google review
This was one of my favorite experiences while in Salem. It is hidden with a small sign between two houses, so you will need to park and walk to find it. It is the archeological site of Rev. Parris. It’s a definite for anyone who visits Salem.
April C — Google review
This is hard to find because it's set back off the road. If you can find this sign (Google maps takes you to it), then you have to walk up the alley between 2 houses. It's worth the hassle!

The Israel Putnam House, also known as the Thomas Putnam House, is a significant piece of local heritage and a First Period building dating back to around 1648. It holds historical importance as the birthplace of General Israel Putnam, a prominent figure in the American Revolution. The house also has ties to the Salem witch trials through Israel's half-uncle, Thomas Putnam. Currently owned by the Emerson Family, efforts are being made to preserve this historical landmark for future generations.
House was built in 1648 ( awesome 🤩🇺🇸). The house REALLY needs to be renovated. Shocked that the state of Massachusetts would let this historical landmark fall apart. Maybe start a fundraiser to save this home 😃….
Liberty L — Google review
“Lt. Thomas Putnam (1615–1686), built the home circa 1648. His grandson, Israel Putnam, the famous general of the American Revolution, was born in the house. Lt. Thomas Putnam was the father of Sgt. Thomas Putnam Jr., (Israel's half-uncle), a notorious figure in the Salem witch trials. The Putnam House is now owned by the Emerson Family, the same owners of Putnam Pantry. Israel Putnam was significant in the Battle of Bunker Hill, “Old Put.” Sadly this house is falling apart, and I couldn’t even see historical markers anymore. The Putnam family gained wealth by testifying against neighbors and rivals (all descendants of the Towne family) and having all the female descendants murdered during the Salem witch trials, except for Sarah, who was jailed for nine months and then released. A Nurse defendant sold the Rebecca Nurse land to a Putnam descendant years later so maybe they found a way forward after a kind of evil I cannot fathom? The Putnams did have those who served honorably in the revolution of the country.

The Israel Putnam House in Danvers, Massachusetts, was built around 1648 and is the birthplace of American Revolution General Israel Putnam, born here in 1718. At the time, Danvers was known as Salem Village. Putnam’s parents played a notable role in the Salem Witch Trials era, signing a petition in defense of Rebecca Nurse—one of the accused who was ultimately executed. Israel Putnam later moved to Pomfret, Connecticut, where he gained early fame for killing what was said to be the last wolf in the state. He went on to fight in the French and Indian War and, during the American Revolution, became known as “Old Put” for his leadership at the Battle of Bunker Hill.
RoadTrip N — Google review
Wikipedia: “He was one of the primary figures at the Battle of Bunker Hill, both in its planning and on the battlefield. During that battle, Putnam may have ordered William Prescott to tell his troops, "Don't fire until you see the whites of their eyes." (It is debated exactly who said these words first; they are attributed to a number of officers.) This command has since become one of the American Revolution's notable quotations.”

Not open to the public and house is in desperate need of some major TLC. It's set between some very pretty flowering trees.

The Salem Witch Museum, established in 1972, is a must-visit for first-time travelers to Salem. It offers two main presentations: one delves into the 1692 Salem witch trials using life-size mannequins and prerecorded narration, while the other focuses on 'Witches: Evolving Perceptions,' exploring the history of witch-hunting and the evolution of the term 'witch.'
We had a great time at this museum. And of all the museums to choose from I'm happy with my choice of prioritizing this one. Tickets go on sale the night before (10pm) for the very next day. I did check at that time and there were lots of tickets for each slot left so I didn't buy it then. I bought the tickets online the day of (we were able to plan the day more accurately this way). Although it was busy they seemed to still be selling seats at the door. (This time of year wasn't busy in Salem in general). The presentation was fantastic. We got seats in the middle of the room but some were seated against the wall. Their experience would be drastically different as the story is told with the exhibits on the wall going around the room. You get lots of themes that would explain the witch trials that took place in Salem. It's a great starting point into the story of Salem. There's lots of books if you want to further dive into any of the themes. The experience takes at least an hour.
Kinza A — Google review
Honestly disappointed. My family is glad we went for the experience. But truthfully we were really let down. The recorded narration on the presentation contains inaccurate info that a simple Google search would prove to be wrong. Sorry, but getting an entire person’s (Tituba) race, culture, beliefs, and personal history WRONG just to sell the narrative is inexcusable. Very disappointed in that. And the items that were on display in the “museum” were also a let down and had very little/nothing to do with the actual witch trials at all. We saw a much better exhibit at the Peabody Essex Museum, that included copies of documents and letters as well as items owned by the victims. Overall, I would never go and pay the $54 to do this again, and honestly disappointed we spent THAT much for our visit, I fully advise anyone visiting in the future to keep all these things in mind. Because after our visit, we fully understand why they don’t allow filming inside. They definitely don’t want anyone to see how underwhelming it is before going and lose their business. 🥴
Genevieve P — Google review
The first part of the museum was a bit campy and felt somewhat dated. It wasn't terrible and I learned a good bit from it. The second section of the museum was nice and informative. Make sure to get there before your call time because even during the weekday it was very busy. During the month of October they open the tickets 12 hrs before so you have to be strategic to get the slot you want.

We visited Salem two days before Halloween, so the whole town was super fun and festive, even though the weather wasn’t great. We came across the Salem Witch Museum 1692 and decided to give it a try. It was very busy, with lines to get in, but everything was organized well. You scan a QR code on a sign to buy your tickets, and then line up about 30 minutes before your time slot. Once inside, you enter an auditorium with benches along the wall and small tufted circle seats in the middle. The show begins with the story of the Salem witch trials, told through mannequins positioned around the room, paired with lighting effects and narration. It was dramatized in an interesting way — not quite what I expected, but well done. Afterward, you move into a second exhibit area where a staff member shares more background about witches, the trials, and related cultural and historical facts. The entire experience lasted about 45 minutes. Overall, I think the experience was priced fairly. I wouldn’t have paid much more, but it was worth it to get a better understanding of the history — especially while visiting Salem during Halloween season.
Art R — Google review
I loved the experience but wish it wasn't so structured toward the end. The narrated story was very educational and unique compared to other self guided museums but once you get past that, you get ushered into a smaller room, given a ton of information really fast, and then are expected to head out without being given enough room or space to really observe or read all the displays. I would still recommend going at least once because it's one of those things you just have to do at least once. But I won't go out of my way to go back unless I have a very good reason.
Angelina J — Google review
The Salem Witch Museum is definitely one of the most talked-about attractions in Salem, but it’s important to know what to expect before you go. This is not a walk-through museum filled with exhibits — instead, it’s a guided, staged presentation led by museum employees. The experience begins with a dramatized performance recounting the events of the 1692 Salem witch trials, using lighting, narration, and life-sized figures to tell the story. It’s informative and gives a good overview of the history, but the entire presentation takes less than an hour, so it’s a relatively short visit. Afterward, there’s a small second section with some additional information and, of course, a gift shop at the end. I’d recommend buying tickets in advance, as the museum can get crowded and time slots often fill up quickly — especially during October or weekends. Overall, the Salem Witch Museum offers an interesting, theatrical look at a dark chapter in history, but it’s more of a performance than a traditional museum. While I appreciated the storytelling aspect, I found it to be a bit overhyped given how brief the experience is. Still, it’s worth a stop if you’re already exploring Salem and want a quick introduction to the witch trials.
Kaitlin K — Google review
It was fine. I heard some not so great reviews so I just went for the ghosts that allegedly show up in the photos. The ghosts did not show up in mine. It's essentially a retelling of the events of Salem with some staged exhibits or diorama as they are sometimes called, for dramatic affect. Its worth seeing if you have the time and money. But if you're short on one the other or both, you aren't missing anything. Their gift store is however terrific, that I give 5 stars. And Fattys cookies next door are a MUST.
Cherri G — Google review
Overall a waste it money. Staff were well organized and very kind. Museum itself is really disappointing. You walk into a room where old dusty and broken wax figures are lit up to a narration of the Witch Trials. Not all of the information was accurate. Then there is a very small museum of a few additional items on display. I was extremely disappointed to not be able to see the stained glass from inside or any of the building details. You’re better off going on a guided tour. We heard the same information on a walking tour and enjoyed that experience a lot more.

The Peabody Essex Museum (PEM) is a top-notch museum showcasing regional American and Asian art, as well as historical artifacts. It originated from the East India Marine Society, established by Salem sea captains in the 18th century. The museum boasts an extensive collection of nearly 2 million works of art and cultural pieces, including a life-size wood sculpture of the Hawaiian god Ku and the captain's desk from the Mary Celeste.
What an awesome experience! We saw the Chinese house unexpectedly which was SUPER cool. We obviously loved the Salem Witch Trial exhibit, which was our original reason to go but we also thoroughly enjoyed the maritime exhibit too.

(Visited on 09/13/2025) A visit to the museum was the first thing I had in mind when we planned our trip to Salem. They showcased actual artifacts from the trials and gave detailed stories and backgrounds to the people affected. I also appreciated the timeline of events post Salem Witch Trials.. Also to note, the Yin Yu Tang house was such a marvel! It transports you to another place and time and gives you an insight of generational living of another culture. Kudos to the museum staff! I recommend to order your tickets online prior to visiting, going as soon as it opens, and possibly dedicating most of your day here. We parked at the Witch City Mall parking garage (~$11/day) and parked on the top floor. More spots available and you get a unique view of Salem.

SO MUCH to see! It says minimum of 2 hours but allow yourself most of the day. We didn't see it all and we were there for over 4 hours. LOTS of history and tons of interactive stuff for little ones, too! You can buy your tickets in advance for any day and they are good for anytime you want to go that day. Start early to see it all.

Easily spend a full day here. Surprising East Asian and asian art collection as well as other exhibits I didn't expect, like contemporary south Asian art. I ignorantly came expecting that the museum would be mainly about the Salem Witch Trials, which are covered with humanizing care, introspection and reflection on justice. But I came away learning a lot more about Salem, it's fascinating history and connection to the global world trade and the cultures shared through artifacts and art represented in the exhibits. There are other children friendly exhibits about the boreal Forrest and overall the exhibits are not text heavy and often contain interactive and or video media throughout.

We came to Salem for Halloween, but the crowds drove us into the museum. If it weren't for the parking situation we could've spent a few more hours here. OMG! What a class museum! The indeginous section was amazing as well as the South Asian Contemporary collection! (You don't see that much in the States) Definitely on the list of places to revisit!

The Peabody Essex is one of my favorite spots in Salem for lunch - the peppers are absolutely scrumptious… Is what I would say if the PEM was a restaurant and not a world-class museum!! I’ve visited 2-3 times and each time I learn or discover something new, even from the permanent collections. All the art and historical artifacts are displayed and described with respect and expertise. The Yin Yu Tang House is especially interesting and impressive to learn how they shipped it to MA in parts and assembled it here (and also where you can find the dried peppers :D). I also really enjoy the interactive natural history sections of the museum; on my last visit, they had a room with different caterpillars!! The PEM is a must-visit for any trip to Salem.

This is a must see museum if you are visiting Massachusetts. The art and artifacts are well presented and quite varied. The museum is immaculate, and well run. There is a public parking garage nearby, with economical rates.

This was an absolutely beautiful museum. We could feel ourselves traveling through time with different artwork from different periods. There also felt like there was quite a bit of representation between old and new as well as art from around the world. I definitely loved the art books that you could contribute to as well. It felt like we were a part of the art and really able to experience and learn up close. The museum was very clean and spacious as well. The greeter were very polite and warm and welcoming. They were also very knowledgeable. The little gift shops were also quite pleasant and adorable.

The Salem Witch Trials Memorial in Salem, Massachusetts, is a solemn site commemorating the 20 victims of the infamous witch trials in 1692. The memorial consists of stacked and inscribed granite stones adjacent to a burial ground. It serves as a reminder of the mass hysteria that led to the execution of innocent citizens accused of witchcraft. The names and dates of each victim are etched on stone memorials located near where many examinations took place.
My family was taking a vacation visiting all the new England states. Of course we had to have Salem on the list of places to check out. We have always wanted to visit this town because of the history of it. The witch trials memorial was cool but also very surreal. Reading about this, and actually seeing the memorials of people who were killed and also having it listed on how they died was an eye-opener. There were a lot of people visiting the memorial and people are leaving little keepsake’s on the benches where the memorials were. The memorials are right next to a cemetery that has to be probably the oldest one I’ve ever seen. Definitely need to check this place out if you’re in town. This is one of the few places you do not need to book reservations for first.

When I was going there I knew it was going to be more of an attraction than coming to see a part of American history. This place is very special and I hope it is honored. As I did wander through the streets My eyes weren't focused on the books as much as the architecture around there I must say it was beautiful. Well I'm really grateful for is that you do see the respect from a lot of people not touching the offerings. I was so excited to go there and I'll be frankly honest with you it lived up to it the whole town everything. What I think would be peaceful is a 5:00 a.m. cup of coffee walk no people no stores just the history the architecture the pride in a build in a fear of injustice.
Anne H — Google review
Its very humbling to have people not forgotten. The memorial is definatly being honored and the names kept alive of those that were mistakenly accused and lost their lives. The fact thousands of people visit and take their time to view each name and some even dropping flowers in their memory really does feel as if they wont ever be forgotten. The graveyard also very full with visitors look & talking about those who are no longer with us and there is just a buzz in the air for those that could have been forgotten being remembered.

Wonderful place to come. It’s a free tour but you’ve got to get your pass online. So much history in one area.
April P — Google review
A beautiful and powerful place of reflection. The Witch Trial Memorial is simple yet incredibly moving — a quiet space that honors the innocent lives lost during the 1692 witch trials. The stone benches engraved with each victim’s name create such a heavy emotional impact, especially when you realize how close it is to the Old Burying Point Cemetery. It’s not flashy or touristy, and that’s what makes it so meaningful. The atmosphere is peaceful and somber, and it really encourages you to pause and reflect on what happened here centuries ago. If you’re visiting Salem, make sure to stop by. It’s a short visit, but one that stays with you long after you leave. A beautiful and respectful tribute — five stars.
Tiffany J — Google review
Probably one of my favorite experiences of this whole trip. It was really sobering to be in the spot of remembrance for these people who were killed because of hysteria and groupthink and intolerance. Brought pennies all the way from Seattle to leave one of each of their markers It was amazing to see others then felt the same way that I did. It was beautiful and moving
Michael S — Google review
Interesting stop along your journey through Salem These are just a few of the the benches dedicated to the people persecuted for being a witch Most were hung and one crushed to death from "spectral evidence" Let me help in case you've never heard of such a thing like I hadn't Google says, Spectral evidence is testimony based on dreams, visions, or apparitions, where a witness claims the spirit or "specter" of an accused person appeared to them and caused harm, even when the accused was physically elsewhere. It was notably accepted during the Salem Witch Trials in the late 17th century, reflecting the Puritan belief that malevolent spirits could project themselves to torment others, but it was later condemned as unreliable and dangerous. What it entails: Apparitions: Accusers reported seeing the specter of a witch, sometimes in human or animal form, that would pinch, bite, or choke them. Dreams and Visions: The evidence often came from victims experiencing visions or dreams where the spirit of the accused person tormented them. Spiritual Projection: The underlying belief was that witches, through a pact with the Devil, could project their spirit to harm others from a distance, while their physical body remained in a different location

The show was fantastic, and the tour guide was excellent! She answered all of our questions and I closed a lot of interesting historical perspectives. Also their gift shop was very nice, the staff was helpful and the prices are very reasonable. Would recommend

Worth the visit to see a recreated portion of one the trials. Also a brief visit to a recreated dungeon where accused people were held. We went to the first presentation in the morning which had very few people. The atmosphere in this old building adds the creepy feeling. Had to remove one star as the guid seems to be rushed at the end to move on through the dungeon area. Nut we only had a few people. I would be concerned for there being adaquate time if the presentation had many more people. Otherwise the information was interesting and well done

Very informative & fact based. Actors telling the story of the Salem Witch Trials in 1692 was well done and then seeing a representation of an actual dungeon. It was fun and enjoyable!

The Witches Dungeon Museum was absolutely amazing! The portrayal of Sarah and Abigail was so well done and really brought the history to life. Our tour guide was incredibly knowledgeable, making the experience both educational and engaging. I also appreciated that the tour was reasonably priced and not overly long—just the right amount of time to enjoy and absorb everything. I highly recommend this to anyone visiting Salem!

It was just okay. I read really great things which is why we went, but the “acting” was literally just two people for about ten minutes. The guide was really nice but she talked very fast and it was hard to keep up with her stories and who she was talking about (she clearly knows the characters but we don’t so it was hard to follow).
Jennifer H — Google review
If you are tight on time and are trying to fit many activities in one day I would pass on this. The Witch Dungeon Museum was an interesting experience, but it wasn’t quite what I expected. The two actresses were talented and did a great job bringing the scene to life, but the performance and the “dungeon” itself didn’t feel authentic—it’s more theatrical than historical. While it was engaging in moments, the overall experience felt like it was missing something to make it truly immersive. Still worth a visit if you’re curious, but manage your expectations.
Sarah S — Google review
Super cool experience! The Witch Dungeon Museum was one of the highlights of our trip. The live reenactment of the trial was so well done — dramatic, immersive, and a little chilling in the best way. It really sets the tone before heading into the guided tour. Our tour guide was fantastic — friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about the history. The whole setup is fascinating, especially when you go downstairs to see the dungeon area and all the recreated cells. It gives such a haunting, realistic sense of what those accused of witchcraft went through. It’s a great mix of history and atmosphere, and you walk away actually learning something while also feeling that eerie Salem vibe. Highly recommend checking it out — it’s an unforgettable experience!

Salem Maritime National Historic Site, established in 1938, is a 9-acre waterfront park that offers a glimpse into the age of sailing ships. It features historic buildings like the Custom House and three wharves from the Revolutionary War era. The site also includes the Friendship of Salem, a tall ship replica that once sailed around the world for trade. This historic site tells stories of sailors, privateers, and merchants who shaped Salem's maritime history.
Historical & scenic spot! I believe as stated by many (and also on the NPS book) that this National Park was the first In the USA. It is actually very nice and very large. We enjoyed walking around specially as we were visiting in summer. It can get very warm though. A lot to see here including the historical store house 'The Peabody'. Overall a really nice visit!

The Salem Maritime National Historic Site is a national historic park in Salem. It is the oldest National Historic Site in the US. The museum offers the chance to see a wharf, lighthouse, customs house, historic ship, and many other historic buildings from Salem’s time as a busy harbor. Unfortunately the Friendship, a historic ship built in 1797 was not on display at the park. Currently, it is being restored. The lighthouse and wharf were nice to see, but little else was open. Perhaps, due to the time of year there were very few staff around to direct you to what was open. This could be a really interesting park, but without the Friendship it’s not the same.

We visited on a Friday around noon in mid-June 2025. We found parking by the Salem Armory Visitor Center near Witch City Mall. We could not use the parking garages because our minivan with cargo carrier was too tall. We circled the lots maybe 5 times before we saw someone leaving. We walked over to the visitor center first where we got maps and NPS Passport Cancellation Stamps. We also bough t some merch and checked out the few exhibits and took some pictures. Then we headed down to where the majority of the points of interest were near the water. Our first stop was going to be the Waite & Peirce Park Store. They have additional NPS Passport Cancellation stamps and also has a many items not available at the store in the visitor center. So make sure you visit both. Then across the street was the Custom House. This was the only other thing that was open to us on a Friday in Mid-June 2025. We went in and explored the 2 floors worth of rooms. There were a number of rangers here to answer questions as well. There was were many rangers in fact I was curious why some of the other locations weren't open for us to explore. We walked around outside for a bit and decided it was time for a late lunch. Overall it was a nice experience. All the rangers we spoke too at each of the sites were great and since many of the places were closed, we would visit again to try and hit more of the sites. Same goes for Salem in general. We only had enough time in our road trip for half a day here and that was just not enough to see everything we wanted to.

The jewel of Salem's historic waterfront, with open green space, long wharves, a lighthouse, historic buildings and homes, and interesting exhibits. What would the Salem waterfront be without SAMA??? Yes, it is frustrating watching the FRIENDSHIP. And yes, they seem disengaged from the community since COVID. But SAMA is one of just a few warriors fighting to interpret ALL of Salem's important & impactful story and not just the Witch Trials. If you come to Salem and don't visit SAMA, PEM, and the House of the Seven Gables, you've really missed the point.

I visited during the Halloween 💀🎃 Weekend and explored the area. According to information ℹ️ that I read online, this is the first national historic site in the US. It was established on March 17th, 1938. The National Parks Service oversees the site. Being nighttime and late October, places were closed 🔒 for the evening or the season. The sailing boat ⛵ the Friendship was heat shrink-wrapped for the season. The area was active with people who wanted to get close to Salem Harbor. I definitely want to come back and see 🙈 all of the exhibits at the buildings and learn more about the history of the area!

Museums
Step back in time and immerse yourself in the haunting history of the infamous Salem witch trials at the Witch History Museum. This museum is dedicated to bringing to life the real individuals and events of the 1692 witch trials through captivating storytelling, life-sized figures, and detailed set designs. Open from April onwards, visitors can explore 15 historically accurate dioramas that vividly depict this dark period in Salem's past.
The Salem Witch Museum is one of the city’s most recognized landmarks, drawing visitors right on the edge of Salem Common. Opened in 1972, the museum is housed in a former church building whose Gothic-style exterior sets the tone before guests even step inside. Its purpose is to bring to life the infamous Salem witch trials of 1692, an event that forever marked the city’s history. Inside, the museum uses life-sized stage sets, dramatic lighting, and narration to recount how fear, superstition, and injustice led to the trials and executions. It offers both a historical overview and an exploration of how the idea of “the witch” has been viewed in different cultures over the centuries. The experience aims to educate while immersing visitors in the atmosphere of 17th-century Salem. For many, it’s both an introduction to the city’s most notorious past and a place of reflection on themes of justice and intolerance that remain relevant today. The Salem Witch Museum stands as a reminder of how the city’s legacy continues to shape its identity. #salemma #salemwitchmuseum #witchtrials #historicnewengland

This place I would hardly call a "museum" as it doesn't have any real artifacts from the Salem Witch Trials or anything from that time period. It just has wax figures in the basement, which I will address later in this review. The "museum" conducts tours every 1/2 hour, so if you buy a ticket early, you can either wait outside or in the gift shop. Once it is your turn for a tour, everyone is brought into an auditorium and is given a little history lession from the tour guide. Once they are done, they bring everyone down to the basement level, where there are recreated scenes of the witch hysteria using wax figures. I didn't get the name of our tour guide, but she seemed rushed when explaining some of the scenes, where she actually forgot to go over a few. She also looked like she was either bored or annoyed. The whole tour from start to finish, including taking photos and asking questions, can take anywhere between 30-45 minutes. In closing, I have done so many other tours during my stay in Salem that were just as informative as this one, or better, so it is really up to the tourist whether or not they want to add this place to their go-to list.

DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY! I'm glad the tickets were only $13/each, because if they were more than that, I'd ask for a refund. The tour starts in a large room with church pews and magnified pictures with captions. That was the best part of the tour - seeing those pictures and reading the information on the trials. Once the tour started, I couldn't wait for it to end. Our tour guide clearly hated his job. He put so little effort into delivering his scripted lines that it was hard to hear at times. However, the rushed delivery of, "Moving on" from him was very clear. You're led down a set of stairs into a dark, and musty basement. They encouraged flash photography, but it was evident from the first scene, that there was nothing of value to photograph. Each scene looks like it was set up centuries ago, and the information presented is easily available online. A few of the scenes had pre-recorded scripts, which was a nice change from the drab, monotone delivery of our guide. Bottom line, this will be a waste of your time and money.

We were able to catch the last showing before they closed the shop down. The prices are reasonable for the show since it’s only 30 minutes. The wax figured that they had were some of the better ones we have seen on the different tours we have done. Our tour guide did a great job.

The Witch History Museum in Salem is fantastic! It tells the story of the Salem Witch Trials in a really interesting way. The exhibits are engaging, with life-size scenes and great storytelling. The guides are very knowledgeable and friendly, making history come alive. It’s a must-visit if you’re in Salem and want to learn about this fascinating and spooky part of American history. Perfect for both kids and adults!

This is a must do in October! The streets are alive and very crowded but everyone is in a fun, festive mood. Take the train or subway in if you can!
Jodi L — Google review
This was a very unfortunate experience and glad that I only spent $13. 2 out of the 3 guides (they switch pretty frequently for how short the tour is) were so monotone and drab, just reciting their lines. They spoke rapidly and it was hard to understand. No interpersonal skills or interaction whatsoever. Almost immediately, I wanted to leave and by the end it felt so uncomfortable with how bad the guide was that I couldn't wait to get out. The vibe from the rest of the group seemed to be the same. The group was too large for the area and many people were crowded and still couldn't see anything. You're basically looking at mannequins in a dark basement while multiple people recite boring monologues. A positive is that they do have a bathroom and cheap post cards in the gift shop.
Stephanie B — Google review
I know that Halloween is a busy time of year for this museum but the experience I had was horrible. The first tour guide was exhausted and gave a terrible and rushed context behind the witch trials. The group of around 20 people we were in was way too big for how small the exhibits were and I couldnt see half of what was in the museum. Finally, the tour guides got confused about the groups and our group had to skip half of the museum and we got the “abridged” version of the museum at full price. Overall, it seems like it could be a good museum if it were more organized but DEFINITELY do not come here in October and especially not close to Halloween.

The Salem Wax Museum is a compact yet fascinating attraction that showcases life-size wax figures depicting scenes from the local history of Salem. The museum focuses on two main aspects of Salem's identity: witches and sailors. Visitors can expect to gain valuable insights into the region's history through interactive exhibits, informative plaques, and impeccably crafted wax figurines.
We did not tour the museum or the other attraction. However, we did book the candlelit ghostly walking tour. The tour was very informative and the guides (we were lucky to have multiple as we were the last group of the night) engaged well with the group. They were very knowledgable of the local history and had lots of personality that made the stops fun instead of a bland history lesson.

This is another self-guided museum that you can be in and out within 25 minutes or so depending on whether or not you read the descriptions of each exhibit. This museum is pretty small, and it gives a bit of history of Salem, which includes the Witch Trials. They do have a fantastic gift shop as soon as you walk in, and I was able to pick up some great souvenirs that I didn't find in other places. The staff is also friendly and helpful as well. I recommend this museum if one is not looking to spend a good amount of time here like myself. The price of admission, however, is a bit steep for the amount of exhibits a person sees.
Lisa S — Google review
A great self guided tour with lots of displays available. Great information on the history and plenty of photo opportunities. Not a bad size either. We visited during October on a Sunday morning and the crowd wasn’t bad at all, with no wait to get in.
Ashley T — Google review
It was a basic small museum with a little bit of history about the Salem witch trials. And it also has so history about pirates and privateers. If you're on a budget I would skip this attraction. It was $50 total for 2 adults and 2 kids. The whole museum only takes about 15 minutes to walk through.

If you love wax museums, you will really enjoy this! It takes about 15-20 minutes to walk through and see all the wax exhibits. If you don't like wax museums, then go to the Salem Witch Museum. This is a nice wax museum, but it's not super educational or informative in really, and if you don't know the history of the Salem Witch Trials, then its just some nice scenery.

Soooo much fun!! This is a must do if you visit Salem!!! All three events the museum is super cool and two haunted houses and all are conveniently next door to each other right by the cemetery!!! The haunted houses def gave a a shrilling chill with lots of jump scares, screams and laughs about it after!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

From what I understand, it’s been recently redone — you can even smell the fresh paint. The history is pretty interesting and gives real museum vibes. It’s a self-guided walkthrough with placards to read, and overall it was a good experience for the price. I probably wouldn’t go back again, but it was definitely cool to check out once, especially if you’re exploring the Salem history scene.

For the candle lit ghost tour - Maria, maybe Mathew I can't remember exactly. Our tour guide was really lovely and was informative without being disrespectful, full of bs or weird. I would happily take this tour again, my only complaint is it wasn't long enough.

Located at 34 Chestnut Street in Salem, the Phillips House is a historic mansion built in 1821 by Captain Nathaniel West. Once inhabited by the Phillips family, it now showcases their collection for visitors to explore. The Federal-style mansion offers tours every half hour, providing a glimpse into early 20th-century life for both the family and their staff. This museum also hosts family-friendly events and activities, making it an engaging stop for all ages.
This house is stunning!! It is a beautiful way to see the lifestyle of those who lived long ago. The tour guide was knowledgeable and charming!! It is a good value as well.

The Phillips House is a Historic New England museum located on Salem’s Chestnut Street, one of the city’s most distinguished historic neighborhoods. In 1821, four rooms from an earlier home were moved by oxen to form the foundation of what became this Federal-style mansion. The house reflects Salem’s rich architectural heritage and offers a glimpse into the lives of the families who lived there. Furnishings and collections span generations, showing both early 19th-century craftsmanship and later domestic life. Open to the public from May through October, the museum welcomes visitors from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., with guided tours offered every half hour. It remains a rare opportunity to step inside one of Chestnut Street’s historic residences. #PhillipsHouse #FederalStyle #igersnewengland #massachusetts_igers #tt

Beautiful house, one of 38 properties of Historic New England. It is located on a charming Chestnut Street in Salem, MA. Nicely decorated rooms, interesting servants quarters, great tour guide. We are members of Historic New England, so tickets were free. I highly recommend this house tour to anyone interested in New England history. 2 hour on street parking is also free

I visited Phillips House last October with a pair of friends from out of town. I love this elegant Federal style mansion, which was built in 1821 and currently operated by Historic New England (HNE). This tour is vastly different from other historic tours in Salem because it focuses neither on the 1690s around the time of the Salem Witch Trials, nor on the early 19th century during the peak of maritime trade. Instead, the tour is told through the eyes of five-year-old Stephen “Stevie” Phillips, who moved into the newly renovated house with his family in 1912. The tour guide was tons of fun, and I think I was her favorite guest because of avid picture-taking! Definitely a great place to relax if the rest of Salem feels too busy.

Our tour guide, Bob, was so knowledgeable. The house was absolutely incredible, but the best part were Bob's stories! Every object had a story to tell, and almost everything in there is original to the house. Super cool!

I'm a Salem resident and I am on a mission to tour all the local attractions AND historic houses. About this one: What a wonderful experience! Our guide today - I feel bad that I don't remember his name - was extremely knowledgeable and quite entertaining. I was not sure what to expect, but it turned out to be a very fascinating tour. The "garage", with original carriages and antique cars, it's probably the most stunning section of the tour. And learning about the history of the house and of the families who lived there was particularly interesting. I recommend it to anyone who is visiting Salem and might be sick and tired of hearing about witches :) :) eheh

When our guide Tom told us we were in for a treat, he truly meant it. My friend and I happened to be the only ones for our tour time, so it was essentially a private tour. Tom provided a lot of interesting information on the rooms, pieces, family history, and so much more. The collection here is absolutely astounding, and one of my favorite parts was seeing the carriage house and the various modes of transportation up close. The tour was one of the most thorough I’ve been on and I highly recommend it! Thank you, Tom!

We LOVE Connor’s and we have been going there since the day before my daughter was born (she just turned 21 this past Monday). Their CSA is worth EVERY PENNY!! We get the 1/2 share for our family of four and it is incredibly helpful!! One of my favorite things about the CSA is when we get to pick fresh flowers. So far, we’ve gotten to pick sunflowers a few times this month. Other flowers are growing and we will get to pick them soon!!

This is an amazing place to bring the kids all ages. I was surprised how much stuff there was to do. All different type of rides, games, food, apple picking, peach picking, animal petting and feeding, and so much more. Even stuff for the adults to do. It is $25 a person but honestly $25 for an entire day of stuff isn't bad. My kids were so tired when we left and we came late and only they're for 4 hours and only did half the stuff there.

My bf and I went today for the first time, we arrived around 3pm and we didn’t know that the food vendor or most of the activities were in the morning, the web doesn’t say much and I called the place like 4 times and no answers. The place smell really bad, i understand that there’s animals in there but the smell was really strong, we saw on the web that the train ride was at 3:30 but it was really at 4:30 and we had to way 1hr. The craziest thing was went we went to the market and we were hungry because all the vendors were close there was an Asian lady working there and 2 Hispanics, we were waiting to order but the Asian worker was talking in the back, after she came out she said the kitchens just closed so we went get donuts instead and the Hispanic lady noticed we speak Spanish so she was talking to us and we asked her what time everything closes bc it was our first time and we were hungry and she said the kitchen should be open so we told her what the other last told us and she immediately went to the back to ask why she said that to us, after around 5 minutes the Asian lady came back to the front and said “we can actually made one order real quick” absolutely insane. She looked so sick to be working there I don’t understand that kind of people, after all the drama we told her we didn’t want anything anymore and they just lost money. The place is big but it looked really sad and poor, if you ask me if you should go I’ll say dont waste your time, there’s no apples to pick all the apples are in the floor with worms absolutely disgusting, you only go to see the apples in the floor and the corn maze all dry.
Cheuris — Google review
We had a great time here and our kids absolutely loved it. We were able to go on a weekday, which was great because there were minimal crowds. I assume the farm is very crowded on weekends. The kids loved going from station to station. There is quite a bit to do here, and it's a massive place. They loved the playground, the jump zone, the corn maze, and the various sports. The train was also fun. The kids didn't want to leave! Food was tasty, and the hot cider donuts were terrific. We also bought some apple cider to go. Parking was free and customer service was friendly. The weekday price also made it a solid value. We were very happy we made the trek to get here.
Shalin P — Google review
The haunted fields experience is excellent! It's worth the money because of how detailed and intricate it is. We did upgrade the the VIP because on the Saturday we went the line was over an hour long. There are a lot of middle and high school people, and also some younger kids. They have burgers, fries, and chicken tenders, plus a well stocked array of harvest goods like apple cider, cider donuts, candied apples, pumpkins, etc, as well as specialty grocery things. For people who are less experienced at haunted activities, I recommend ear plugs. The audio aspect is still present, but muted, and more manageable. If you have allergies to mold or dust, take an antihistamine before going as there are parts that are damp and can activate allergies. It's fun, it's scary, I look forward to going again!

Customers have the option to dine in, take their goodies to go, or have them delivered. The cozy and inviting atmosphere, comfortable seating, and friendly staff make it the perfect place to relax and indulge. Additionally, The Cookie Monstah operates sweet food trucks in Boston and Danvers.
I wanted to treat my boyfriend to something special. I looked on DoorDash for sweet treats and Cookie Monstah came up. I did build your own ice cream sandwich. I bought two, one for me and one for my boyfriend. It met both of our expectations. We shared just one and saved the other one. I had gotten chocolate chip cookie & chocolate chip ice cream on both. The cookie & ice cream were outstanding! Best ice cream sandwich we’ve ever had. We’ll be visiting their shop in the future.

Located in Danvers, the Liberty Tree Mall has been a shopping staple since 1972. While it may not have the same prestige as its neighboring mall, it still offers a variety of well-known retailers like Target, Old Navy, and Nordstrom Rack. The mall provides a mix of familiar brands and local shops catering to diverse shopping needs. With straightforward layout and ample parking, it's convenient for everyday shopping. Although lacking high-end stores, its practicality makes up for it.
Liberty Tree Mall is convenient for essentials with big stores like Target, Kohl’s, Best Buy, and Marshalls. The AMC theater and Sky Zone add good entertainment options. The mall itself feels a bit quiet and dated, but it works well for errands, movies, or a quick meal.

Okay - so it’s not exactly swank. It doesn’t have all the choices The Northshore Mall boasts. BUT - it does have just enough choice to meet your needs. I’m grateful for it because I actually enjoy what it does offer. Memorial park
The Witchcraft Victims Memorial is a tribute to the 25 individuals who lost their lives during the Salem witch trials of 1692. Situated across from the original location of the Meeting House, where many of the accused were examined, this monument holds historical significance. The somber atmosphere and inscriptions of victims' last words on the stone evoke a sense of loss that befell the village.
I'm a Salem resident and I am on a mission to tour all the local attractions AND places of relevance. About this one: This tribute to the victims of 1692 was built just across the street from the original location of the Meeting House where Reverend Samuel Parris (and his predecessors) preached and many of the accused were examined at the beginning of the witchcraft hysteria. Its location and all the history behind are what makes this memorial of remarkable historical relevance. While the memorials in Salem are somewhat minimalist, this one in Danvers (Salem Village at the time) is more traditionally monumental. Inscribed in granite, you can find the list of the 25 victims and some of their quotes, to never forget. Just fyi, you cannot park nor really pull over on the street where the memorial is located. This area is residential and not designed for tourism. It makes sense to visit this site - in my opinion - if you are already in the area to visit also other important sites in Danvers connected with the Salem Witch Trials, as the Salem Village Parsonage or the Rebecca Nurse Homestead.
Valentina O — Google review
The place they don’t tell you about! In the current political climate, it’s important to remember how mass hysteria and paranoia can negatively affect people and their lives.

Very moving place to visit especially if you are a descendant of the victims of the witchcraft hysteria. Take time to visit the nearby historical locations and read the markers.
Tammy V — Google review
A beautiful monument for such a tragic circumstance. Like the Village Parsonage it has a very somber feel around the area. The last words of the victims etched into the stone are very impactful and sobering to read. I do love that people still leave offerings of remembrance to the victims on the monument. Even with those items it is very well kept and taken care of. There was no one else there when I visited so I got to take my time reading and taking everything in.

Count Orlok's Nightmare Gallery, also known as The Nightmare Gallery, is a must-visit for horror and movie enthusiasts. This museum features over 60 life-sized wax figures of iconic characters from horror and monster films. While it's an intriguing attraction year-round, October brings an extra thrill as the monsters come to life, making it the scariest exhibition in Salem.
This is a fun experience. No photos are allowed inside the museum itself, but the figures and displays are truly worth it. Not too scary, but wouldn't necessarily recommend for very small children (based on the things I was afraid of at that age). It took us about a half hour to 45 minutes with reading signs, etc. One of the better museums in town - would recommend.

Best place to go check out in Salem if you are a movie buff!!! Very well curated and maintained exhibit. Lots of life-size horror icons on display! Photo or video recordings are not allowed while walking the exhibit for reason, though they do let you take photos at the store where they showcase a movie production quality Spike from Gremlins 2. Can't wait to check it out again.

Okay so this was my favorite experience in our trip to Salem. It just felt good. The price of admission was entirely reasonable for the experience that you got and still we able to spend some money in the gift shop. Like I think that places sometimes lose that thought when they start raising the price of their tickets and then you spent so much on the ticket you can't afford to buy something while you're there. But that's not this totally reasonable in price. The gentleman that was setting up out front with the signs and everything is the one that sold us on the experience and we booked the ticket right there they had lots of availability at that time but from what I understand but later in the day we're completely sold out. All of the figurines are really well done and eerily watch you with their eyes in a really creepy way. I love the original universal monsters those were some of my favorites as well as the giant ghostbuster I would give anything to have that slimer in my house as part of my Ghostbusters collection. The only negative that's I had with isn't really much of a negative at all is that you can't take any pictures in the exhibit, but I totally understand why. For those people who don't know count orlok is the old black and white dracula real name, but I made up an alternative story the count orlok was Vlad's brother and is just trying to get by in a modern world by running a wax museum. He's also gone super politically correct so he says things like " I want to suck your blood, with consent" and "look into my eyes... Respectfully" imagine a dracula that needs you to invite them in, but also asks for you to sign a consent form... That's hilarious. Anyway go to count orloks, if you only do entertainment activity-thing in town. This would be my pick.

Great experience in Salem. There's no video or photos allowed inside the museum, but honestly, photos wouldn't do it any justice! I absolutely loved it! Definitely recommend when you're visiting Salem!
Bee K — Google review
Count Orlok's Nightmare Gallery was, hands-down, the best gallery in Salem. No pictures or video inside, and there is a reason for that. Unbelievable statues, both modern and classic. The staff are really cool. Definitely, worth a visit. The pictures I took are from the store at the end of the gallery. The store has pretty awesome items to choose from. They even have a VHS shelf to buy old-school tapes of classic movies. I will return.

There weren’t many photos online but don’t be fooled - it’s on purpose! This was a hidden gem. Very cool history and monsters - a highlight to our first day in Salem! Go in surprised!!

Literally the coolest museam in Salem, if you are a Nosferatu or even just a Horror fan this is a must stop. So many cool things to see. Will definitely be back.

I’m giving it 5 stars because my husband enjoyed it. For me, it was just ok. I didn’t recognize a lot of the characters, because I don’t watch a lot of tv. No photography allowed inside.

Nestled just a stone's throw from the Peabody Essex Museum, the New England Pirate Museum is an enchanting destination that invites visitors to dive into the thrilling world of maritime history. This captivating museum showcases educational presentations about infamous pirates, complete with lifelike wax figures and intriguing artifacts. As you explore this treasure trove of pirate lore, you'll find yourself wandering through a meticulously recreated 80-foot dockside village and even stepping aboard a pirate ship filled with fascinating relics.
It's a pretty small museum with a modest exhibit, but you can tell they care. The docent spoke well and knew the info.
Heather M — Google review
I may have too high a standard being that I've been to pirate museums from Massachusetts to the USVI, but this place is no museum. I don't really know what you should call it, but it's no museum. They have one coin from a local ship wreck. that's it! the rest of the "museum is life size dioramas covering three pirates from the area. You also cannot walk this place at your own pace, you must go with a tour guide. The tour is less than 20 minutes. The "museum" store is pitiful. I'm really disappointed, I had high hopes for this place.
Dave S — Google review
This is a kitchy, dusty, dated museum that I really enjoyed. Life sized figures of famous pirates local to the area are described in great historical detail by our capable and interesting guide. Manikins in dioramas bring the history to life. Seems This is the perfect venue for the subject!
Heidi H — Google review
Our tour guide was amazing and told the best stories. This museum is totally cheesy but in a great way. We purchased the three museum discount pass and it was worth every penny.
Seili A — Google review
All employees were extremely nice and friendly. Lots of information was offered and our guide had a great understanding of information. There were many displays and artifacts to look at. The tour was slightly shorter than expected, but still an extremely enjoyable experience.

Great educational walk through exhibit. Lots of pirate history. Great add on to the Salem witch experience!

It was ok. The person that did our tour was fun and had a lot of information. You could tell he enjoyed the subject and learning new information. I was expecting more artifacts to look at. There are very few.

This museum needs to renew itself in the near future, it is very boring, very old, very dirty.

Salem Witch Village is a popular tourist attraction in Salem, offering exhibits about witches and witchcraft, souvenir shops, and haunted house tours. Located just two minutes from Sea Level Oyster Bar, this interactive attraction provides guided tours where visitors can learn about the myths and realities of witchcraft in 17th-century Salem. The village also includes the Salem Wax Museum, depicting scenes from local history.
The Salem witch village is full of touristy attractions and often schlocky exhibits. We wandered through and enjoyed seeing what was on offer. People watching was a good time, as well. However, we really enjoyed the actual historical remnants from the past. I recommend you take the time to go to one of the old cemeteries and get insights into some of the rich history. We also saw the exterior of the witch's house but did not want to spend $12 each to go inside. The statue of Bewitched in the square is cute but not worth much more than a minute or two. If you can locate it go to the Ropes Garden, and enjoy a stroll up both sides of Chestnut Street. The lovely old homes are a real delight. .. For the real inside story of the witch trials, go to the Peabody Essex Museum. It's exhibition and details for local exploration are absolutely the latest and most thorough I am aware of. It's also a superb museum, not just witchcraft subjects.

The new "Lost Library" in the Witch Village area is gorgeous!!! I absolutely love the huge pumpkin it reminds me of the movie Halloween Town which is one of my favorites! So many options of things to buy, definitely stop in here and check it out!

Basically, it was just ok. I did not visit the Witch Village just The Lost Library. I had been looking forward to going here as it seemed like such a cute concept. They did have some cute decor but they didn’t have anything I was really interested in buying as nothing stood out as being unique. Was not even greeted by one employee, which is contrast to several other stores I visited on the same day.
Leanne R — Google review
There were not enough days in my travel itinerary to cover this area. So rich in history so much to learn and see. The houses were so different from Houston I could have spent days walking around. The history is so tragic and mind boggling boy am I glad times have changed. You definitely feel a sense of sadness for the victims and in some spots a heavy heart. As for it being spooky and haunted hands down YES very true we did a tour and a picture that one of the ladies captured scared the crap out of me not to mention some creepy little things that happened to my hubby and I. Is this place worth a visit HECK Yeah. Definitely coming back and bringing the whole family too.
Vanessa R — Google review
We had such a great time at this haunted house! The gentleman running the line was wonderful—very friendly and kept us entertained during the short wait. Inside, the actors were fantastic, really feeding off our reactions and making the whole experience even more fun. The special effects added so much to the atmosphere and made everything feel extra spooky. Overall, a great mix of scares and fun—I’d definitely recommend it!
Lisa L — Google review
DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY. I don’t typically leave reviews but to call this a haunted house is insane especially for the price…we walked through and got “scared” maybe twice by people who weren’t even in a costume? The wax museum was scarier than this. It also took less than 2 minutes to walk through the whole thing despite being advertised as the longest haunted house in Salem, while that may be true don’t be fooled. We got to the end and couldn’t believe we had actually just paid for that experience. It was honestly laughable how much of a scam the haunted house was, if I could give less than one star I would…although we did get a good laugh.

Nestled in Danvers, the Water Park of New England is a sprawling 65,000-square-foot indoor oasis that promises endless fun for families. Adjacent to the DoubleTree Boston North Shore Hotel, this vibrant water park boasts an array of thrilling attractions including exhilarating waterslides like Shark Slam and Gator Gush. For those seeking relaxation, the Coconut Grove Lazy River offers a serene float through lush surroundings.
Definitely worth the trip and especially if you have more than one kiddo. The kids can go off and play and mom and dad can enjoy the hot tub! A must return its worth the price and drive!

This is my 2nd year coming here. Last year we did a one-day waterpark pass (family of 5) and this year we did a 2 day waterpark pass. Both years I learned that getting the morning admission is the best!!! Come late afternoon it gets crazy with people!! People who are so rude and will steal your chairs even with your belongings on them!!! Do not recommend coming or even staying till close because of the amount of people!! And the ignorant people who paid $20 less to get in! The food was good!! We got a large pizza and chicken fingers with no complaints. The bar drinks were absolutely delicious! I highly recommend the cherry mixed drink. The pool at the hotel is great!! Also has a gym, sauna, and hot tub for adults. The staff and room service was excellent! Like most places, the cleaning staff doesn't speak English which is fine. Staff came to our room to understand what we were asking for. Came back to a clean room with beds made which is what we wanted. I also love that the twin beds are around the corner from the king size bed so parents and kiddos have a little space. Would definitely come again but with the new costs Great Wolf Lodge is probably the same price and bigger. Think we spent close to $2000 or more from a Friday to Monday, which included the hotel, 2 days at the park, and food for 5

If you have kids and enjoy the water this is the place to take your kids I’d say age from 3yrs-14yrs old. My kid is 9 yrs old she loved this inside water park it was a great deal paid 50 buck per person, not to bad from 11am -7 pm food was a 3.8/5 prices are always crazy no matter where you go I at the burger and fries with a drink for 16 buck which think again not to bad. The tube ride they have there I say 3.6/5 not to bad wish there were more adult ride but this is a kids water park which does change my rating to a 4/5. If you go during the week you’ll have the pool all for your self weekend it gets a little busy my daughter loved it as I did and will definitely come back again a recommend it to other people.

Its a small indoor and pricy ($30-60 depending on time and method) and, $10-15 to rent a locker, $3 for a towel ( you can bring yours). The nice thing is indoor, but it is small. The floors are not smooth just rough concrete both on land and in the water, you can easy scratch yourself on the concrete in the water or good luck if you fall on the land, so be careful, honestly this could be dangerous environment for anyone. Not a well maintained or staffed place, the central medium sized slide has no staff, so people can easily ram into each other at the bottom if not watching and you can get some speed in the slide. Not gonna return. Codes as Hilton double tree purchase and interestingly restaurant charge when you buy ticket at the door. If you know you know.
Simon Z — Google review
Great place to take your kids. Went for my Godsons birthday. It wasn't crowded when we went. They do have lockers for rent in and out side of the park area. The hot tub is a wonderful concept. Goes from one hot tube on the inside to 3 more connected hot tubs on the outside. No one under 15 is allowed in the hot tub. The only thing is that there were alot of hornets by the splash pad and outside hot tub gate. My Godson ended up getting stung. They do have a first aid office where they were very nice and professional. The place didn't have that overwhelming chlorine smell, but the water did burn my eyes. The lazy river is relaxing but needs more tubes. Many were deflated and a long line of people were waiting for a good tube. The splash pad was cute. I think the grown-ups had more fun on it though. They do have a bar to get a few drinks. You can not drink in the park area. You have to drink in the bar area. It was set up with many tables and chairs. The bartender was nice. The pool was the only place that was crowded. The food and drinks a overpriced but that is to be expected. The kids had a blast. Next time we will stay overnight at the hotel, so we don't have to drive an hour and a half back home after a long day at the park.

2 out of the 3 times I’ve been here all of the slides have been closed and it was not fun. There are fun supporting attractions like the small slides, the water structure, and the monkey bars, but there’s not a ton to do. The slides are fun, and there’s 4 of them. This review would be 4 stars if the slides were open more. The service is pretty slow too. Overall, this is a very mediocre water park. go to great wolf lodge, hurricane harbor, or breezy instead. Theyare in state and much better.
Aidan G — Google review
If I could give no star, I would, my son fell while on this waterpark on the part that the kids play on because half of it is wet and half of it is dry, and the dry part is very slick. Well when he fell, he landed on his finger. He now has an infection on his finger from how nasty this water park is so if you’re debating taking your children there, I would highly suggest going somewhere else unless you want your kids getting an infection if they get hurt somehow. And the lack of not caring the hotel and water park have over this kind of stuff is awful
Jessica M — Google review
this water park is a lot of fun. there was a little bit of something for every age. including the adults. from a lazy river to jacuzzi, to splash pad with a slide which made it extra cool. there was also a swimming area for kids to play basketball and swim around. it was cool. there were different levels of slides. honestly i thought they would be more terrifying then they were but my seven year old and i went on every single one. i think i was more nervous then him. LOL. the water was also about 2 ft deep which was reassuring. you could smell the chemicals in the water which i’m sure is a good sign because we want to make sure we’re not spreading germs. the water even had a sting to it in your eyes. so if you’re someone with sensitive eyes, maybe wear goggles or even have the kiddos wear them also. i could see how it could irritate younger children. my reason for the 3 star is because the staff were all children and that wasn’t the most pleasant thing. a lot of them were really rude. some of the life guards were really kind and others not so much. the kids in the food court in my opinion shouldn’t be all working in there. their customer service skills lacked tremendously. we ordered mozzarella sticks and french fries. both were the lowest quality you could think of. i know you have to start somewhere but at least have a responsible adult overseeing them. also the lockers over charged me by $60.00 which wasn’t cool. hopefully they fix it and will refund me. mackenzie at the front desk was really sweet and helpful. i wish they had a first timer greeting to guide you and tell you more about the park and directions. i had to keep asking questions. which was slightly annoying. the bathrooms were also all very dirty. no stall was clean. idk if it’s because of school vacation or what but heads up. overall we enjoyed ourselves. i don’t think it’ll be our number one choice but maybe when we have nothing to do. for now we’ll continue browsing other options. i will say they do have potential to be a five star but in my opinion it’s a 2.5/3.

Great cozy atmosphere. Pretty small and intimate. The person taking care of me Saturday night with an above the shoulder length hair was excellent. Knowledgeable about allergies as I have a dairy allergy and it was easy to order with them. I highly recommend the filet mignon! I switched the sides to accurate my allergy. The asparagus was really delicious though! Along with the potatoes. I’m glad I got the sauce on the side however because it was a bit sweet. Lemon sorbet is the only dairy free option available.

Got some good news and never had been here so made reservations. Food was great. Service not so much. Ordered a split of champagne. It did not arrive until after we had finished our appetizer. (The lobster ravioli was awesome!). Asked the waiter to hold our meal so we could enjoy our champagne. He even asked when we wanted it. But no, it came right out after a couple of sips. I will give them the benefit of the doubt and try again but i must say i was disappointed.

We went for a birthday dinner. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted with “Happy Tuesday!” by a couple of lovely hostesses. Until that day, I don’t think I had ever heard that from someone who actually meant it before. Our waitress was also very friendly. The drinks and the food were all great. We had the special boned in ribeye. I asked for the white truffle whipped potatoes and it was simply the best mashed potato I have ever had. I’m so glad we found this place. Looking forward to going back soon!

We went to 9 Elm on a Wednesday to celebrate a family event, and we are so happy we checked them out! The food was impeccable! My wife got the wedge which was fresh and cold, with a marvelous homemade bleu cheese dressing. Their signature french onion was LOADED with onion and had a wonderful wine flavor. It was perfected seasoned and salted, with a great crouton sopping up that wonderful broth. Did I mention the flamed slice of Gruyere? Just outstanding! As for dinner, our dishes included a perfectly cooked, huge grilled pork chop, medium rare duck breast sliced over creamy risotto for my wife, and one dish of bolognese which was literally the best I've ever had. Since the pasta was mine here's more - it was perfectly al dente, with a pork/veal/lamb slow-cooked bolognese finished with just a hint of cream......delicious. Shaved parmesan topped the huge dish, with plenty for dinner and enough leftovers for a great lunch. Chef Matt and his team have created a fantastic menu that they execute flawlessly. My son has peanut/nut and shellfish allergies which they accommodated without hesitation. Drinks are priced modestly and their signature cocktails are excellent. What's not to love? It's a new go-to restaurant for us - looking forward to our next visit! Be sure to make a reservation.

Server we had didn’t do a single thing to make us ever want to come back. No lorecommendations. Didn’t pour our water once. Was MUCH more personable than the other tables in comparison to ours. Why? I haven’t a clue. But she seemed very uninterested in serving us. Took 10+min to greet us, and took forever to come clear the table after we were done eating. She wasn’t friendly. She wasn’t bad, but she was by no means good. Still tipped over 25%. For $140 per person, you can’t even pour my water? That’s concludes the service. Now I understand that food preferences are subjective, but with that being said, the food here is mediocre. It’s not bad, but it’s nothing to write home about. There’s nothing bad about it at all I promise you, but for $140 pp there’s much better more satisfying places you can go to. I’m so upset at myself for believing this was the best restaurant in the north shore lol. If you’re a foodie, RUN BACK TO BOSTON. I literally have 0 reason to recommends this place to anyone but they won’t have an issue at all at this place, their guests seem like regulars. Maybe that’s why they got better service than us. Had to ASK for bread too LOL “please give us bread, or did you “forget” that too.

Great meal at 9 Elm. The waitress was very attentive and personable. Three of us got filet with mashed and veggies (carrots, green beans, asparagus) and one got salmon. We all loved our meals. Salem Pioneer Village, also known as Salem 1630, is a seasonal living-history museum that offers tours from June to September. Established in 1930, it provides a fascinating glimpse into life in 17th-century New England before the infamous witch trials. As one of the first living history museums in America, it authentically recreates a colonial fishing village and offers valuable insights into the struggles of the early settlers. Visitors can explore this charming village and learn about its historical significance.
Such a cool and underrated spot! Salem Pioneer Village feels like stepping straight into the 1600s — it’s so well done and full of authentic details. The recreated homes, gardens, and tools really bring early colonial life to life, and the setting itself is peaceful and tucked away, which adds to the atmosphere. The staff were super friendly and knowledgeable, happy to share stories and answer questions about what life was actually like for the early settlers. It’s both educational and fun to explore, especially if you’re into history or want something beyond the usual witch-trial attractions. It’s a great place to wander, take photos, and get a real sense of old Salem. Definitely worth the stop — five stars for the experience and the effort that goes into keeping this little piece of history alive!

Great experience. The place transports you to the 1600s where you can see how people lived and worked. $5 fee is absolutely worth it. The only downside is that it's very small. 15 mins would be enough to explore the place. I would have wished it to be multiple times larger.
Manuel C — Google review
This village is extremely weather dependent just as a heads up! We were so sad to be here when it was raining and they were closed due to flooding. We were here in 2020 and it was closed as well. Really striking out here! That was no fault to the village! We were able to sneak some photos over the fence and see some parts of the village we from a far! Such a neat scene from the movie and just set in general! Maybe 3rd times a charm! We were visiting from Seattle and will be back!

Daytime its 5 stars easy! Unique well kept and really interesting look at what it may have looked like 300 years ago. Night time was super packed and overpriced. Now we did go in October. It was satanic like which i realize that was what they were going with, but for me a little too much. Overall I would recommend it, but not for my super religious friends.

We went on a Saturday in early November. No wait to get in. It was a little busy but not crowded. An excellent experience! Great signage detailing lots of great history and explaining so much about the pioneer times. The buildings were well keep and the grounds were exactly as you'd expect for that time. There was a great presentation on herbs and plants they used for medicinal purposes. If you're interested in history and not just cute Hocus Pocus tourist crap then I highly recommend this place! If you want something "cute" and maintained to modern standards then this is NOT the place for you and your be better suited visiting a mall or theme park.

This was a must do on our list when visiting to Salem, especially being Hocus Pocus fans. Cost is very minimal ($5 each). Its very quick to go through, however if you're walking it's a bit of a walk from the main attractions of Salem but we walked there in about 35 minutes. Make the stop right before to Max and Dani's house on (4 Ocean Ave) too.

Definitely something to check out while you are there. Plenty of parking on site and just a 13 minute walk to downtown, especiallyif you are there during the Halloween festivities. I don't recommend stopping at the house that sells witch hats as they are $35 each.

Ropes Mansion and Garden is an 18th-century Georgian Colonial mansion that now serves as a house museum. The mansion, famously known as Allisons house from the movie Hocus Pocus, is recognized as one of New Englands most significant historic houses. Visitors can explore the bewitching garden at the back of the house, which is open to the public and free to visit.
I've visited the Ropes mansion many times, summer, winter, fall and its just beautiful! I've never toured the inside but its great you can walk the backyard grounds for free and enjoy the beauty of it! This is the first time I've gone when the flowers were bloomed in the backyard and it was gorgeous!

Beautifully preserved 1700’s mansion on Essex Street in Salem. Close to the Witch House. Garden is free to explore and absolutely stunning. We added $5 to Peabody Essex Museum entry fee for mansion tour. Timed entry. It’s beautiful inside with a lot of history and memorabilia from the Ropes family. Helpful staff to answer questions. Four stars is due to not enough time to explore. Only 20 minutes to explore the house and its numerous rooms and countless keepsakes (after 5 minute intro). Oh, & it’s Allison’s house in Hocus Pocus. Definitely worth the visit.

Nestled on a quiet residential street in Salem, Proctor's Ledge Memorial serves as a poignant reminder of the tragic events that unfolded during the infamous Salem Witch Trials. This site marks the actual location where 19 innocent individuals lost their lives to wrongful accusations of witchcraft through hanging. For many years, it was thought that these executions took place at Gallows Hill; however, extensive research and historical analysis have confirmed Proctor's Ledge as the true site since 2016.
Tangible link to the Salem Witch Trials My daughter (13) and I visited the site on July 1, 2025. We were alone and had a nice peaceful reflection at the location. This is the actual location where the executions took place, confirmed by ground-penetrating radar in 2016. Thus this location and memorial offer a tangible link to the Salem Witch Trials, allowing a better understanding of this dark chapter in history and the consequences of mass hysteria. By remembering the events at Proctor's Ledge, the memorial serves as a reminder of the dangers of prejudice, unfounded accusations, and the importance of tolerance and due process. Please take time to visit and reflect on these events.

Historically accurate location of the hangings of the innocent in Salem for this memorial. Well kept, and clean. The energy was definitely a little sad/dense, but I could also feel a lot of healing and loving energy has been sent there too. Not necessarily a must see, but if you have time to spare and want to see it, it's an easy walk.

Actual location of the Salem Witch hangings. About 10 min walk out of downtown in a quiet neighborhood. Tastefully done memorial
Steve O — Google review
Proctor's Ledge is a profoundly quiet memorial to thirteen men and women who were accused of witchcraft and hanged in Salem, Massachusetts, in the year 1692. This particular episode of accusations, hysteria, and trials is the subject of many books and papers, and the proposed causes range from religious superstitions and spoiled grain to bored and spiteful teenage girls, as well as resentful individuals manipulating public sentiment to benefit from local property laws. None of that mattered to the thirteen who died on this spot, falsely accused of witchcraft. It is worthwhile to take a long moment to sit and reflect on the complex early history of 17th-century Salem and its people.
Bill B — Google review
Really nice memorial, could do with a clean up and needs signs in the town to make you aware of it. Someone local told us about it thats how we found out about it.
John W — Google review
It's a bit hard to find based on the address provided via Google but a very nice spot.
Melody R — Google review
It's nice that there is a memorial at that location for the Salem Witch Trial deaths. There just isn't really much to see here. When we visited, there were trash cans in the memorial space and leaves were filling the area. I know you can't really do much about the leaves, but I feel like the trash cans need to be outside of the memorial space. We felt like the memorial garden downtown was a better memorial, but we liked that there was a historical marker at the exact location of the deaths.
Joseph K — Google review
Rating it 5 stars because they did a good job with the memorial, looks nice, and it's clean. You should know that it's not in the best neighborhood, though. Do not go there after dark. There are signs that say this. There's no place to park, really. There's an abandoned walgreens next door that I parked at illegally. There are signs that say it's private property. I wish there was a plaquard there with some more information on it. Its free.

The Pickering House, a remarkable piece of American history, stands as one of the oldest colonial homes in the United States. Constructed around 1660 by John Pickering Jr., this stunning example of First Period architecture has been cherished by the same family for over three centuries, making it a unique gem in Salem. With its distinctive two-and-a-half-story structure and charming gable roof, visitors can appreciate not only its architectural beauty but also its rich heritage.
I'm a Salem resident and I am on a mission to tour all the local attractions AND historical houses. About this one: The Pickering House is one of Salem and New England's oldest houses, built in 1660. It has a unique history as it was occupied by the same family for more than 350 years. It's possible to tour the first floor and the grounds through a guided tour run by its caretaker Vijay. I had the please to took the tour yesterday and it was a remarkable experience. Through the history of the house and its inhabitants during the centuries, Vijay gives powerful insights also on Salem's and US history. The house's most notable inhabitant was Timothy Pickering, who had a prominent military and political role during the Revolutionary War and the beginnings of the United States. The tour is about 1 hour and, as far as I know, it has to be booked online in advance, or at least you should check their website as tours are not given every day but on specific days and times. You can tour three rooms: the first one to visit was part of the original 1660 structure and used back then as a kitchen; then the parlor and the sunroom. Furniture and objects are original to the house and to the Pickering family. The Pickering House is very close to downtown Salem but not on tourist paths, so it can be a nice "finding" on a more quiet street. Its unique Gothic revival facade is great for pictures too! PROs Very informative and pleasant tour in a cozy environment with a unique history. Pictures allowed inside the house! CONs Nothing to say here! Just, don't forget to check their website for tour days and times as this location is not currently open to the public outside scheduled tours.

4th Oldest house in Massachusetts is location to visit. The house doesn't look over 400 years. I think it looks better than mine 😀😀😀. I didn't take the tour but must be unique and existing. The houses around are all from the late 1700's so please be mindful of elderly crossing the streets

Drove an hour back to Salem just to tour this home with the BEST tour guide ever, Vijay. The oldest house in Salem on the original foundation, occupied by 10 generations of the Pickering family, including Timothy Pickering who served on George Washington's cabinet. The exterior of the home is just lovely to see. Be sure to go across the street to the cemetery where many of the Pickering family are buried. Bought tickets in advance from the website.

My mother and I visited from Canada. VJ guided our tour and was passionate and informative. My mother loves architecture and had some great chitchat before entering the house. I am not much of a history person but loved listening to VJ speak, like a captivating story. The house was lovely to see in all its layered glory. Thank you for having us!

By far my favorite tour in Salem. The current caretaker is beyond knowledgeable and passionate. He will answer all your questions about the Pickering Family and Salem. I truly wish we could hire him as a personal tour guide of Salem. Make sure to walk the cemetery across the street also Bonus- The house has a friendly cat.

Worth 1.5h exercise for kids. Free tickets for Easter day were even better. Many different areas to jump

Wont be renewing our yearly subscription for 2025. the last few times we have gone there seems to be more safety and health concerns. 1. a hole section, arguably the funfest section has been out of order. 2. A step that allows kids to climb out in the obstacle course area is broke. we saw 3 kids who were stuck down there. and needed there parents to climb in and help. 3. The sanitation stations are empty. 4. The men's bathroom had no lights. I thought there might have been motion censored. it was pitch black and never turned on.

We went with our almost 4 year old grandson during Little Leapers Friday 10-12. The toddler area is quite small. Only one enclosed climbing area with a small slide. Trampoline jumping area. Small foam block pit. Foam building blocks that he enjoyed the most. There were bigger kids in this area meant for toddlers.
Rita E — Google review
I am really disappointed with this place . The first thing you notice when you walk in is a strong, unpleasant smell, which makes it hard to enjoy the space right away. The bathrooms are in very poor condition, with very bad hygiene that clearly hasn’t been kept up. For a place meant for children, cleanliness should be a top priority, but it was not here. I hope management takes this seriously and makes improvements, because right now it’s not a place I’d want to bring my kids back to. And I paid a membership because my son loves to come but I rather waist my money than bring my son to a place like that.

I recently had a party at this establishment and I can’t express how much my kids had fun. The party host Day was extremely helpful and I truly haven’t seen a young man care so much for the safety and happiness of other kids. He made sure everything was going smoothly, he was a great help to the party and everybody involved in the party gained a liking to him really fast. If the rest of the staff is just like Day at SkyZone they won’t have many problems. I would recommend that you bring your own drinks as the concession stand is extremely overpriced.
Hailey P — Google review
Celebrated a shared birthday for my children and was very pleased. Emmanuel was our party host and checked me in almost immediately. He kept checking on us making sure everyone was having fun and happy. There seemed to be a lot of parties so we weren't able to get into the private room until 15 mins before our pizzas arrived, but he was very transparent with updates! After celebrating with cake the kids ran back out to jump around til our time was over. Parents kept saying they even had a blast! If requests can be made, definitely ask for Emmanuel to host your party! Very helpful, attentive and definitely deserves a raise! Thank you for helping make our kids birthday the best experience!
Amber O — Google review
I was shocked by how far the standards have fallen. Safety rules—especially around trampolines—are barely being enforced, if at all. I found myself explaining basic safety rules to kids because your staff clearly wasn’t going to. If management thinks this is acceptable, it’s time for a serious reality check—before someone gets hurt.

I visited Sunnyside Bowladrome Inc with my 2-year-old granddaughter for her first bowling experience. We went in the afternoon and were the only customers there. We were provided with a lane equipped with bumpers and a ramp to help guide the ball down the lane. Initially, my granddaughter got distracted by the rolling balls in the tray during pin resets but later became more interested in bowling when other bowlers arrived.
This place is exactly what an old school candlepin bowling alley should be. Great neon signage. Graphically inlaid carpet walls. Jukebox. Fish tanks. Affordable prices. Friendly staff. A shame there aren’t more places left like this. I love Sunnyside.

Sunny Side Bowlerdrome in Danvers is a great spot for classic candlepin bowling and family fun. The lanes are well-kept, and the atmosphere brings that authentic New England bowling alley feel. It’s casual, clean, and perfect for all ages—from kids to adults. The staff is friendly, helpful, and keeps everything running smoothly, even during busy hours. Whether you’re bowling for fun or joining one of their leagues, the experience is consistently enjoyable. There’s a snack bar with all the classics—pizza, candy, and drinks—which makes it easy to spend a few hours here without leaving. It’s also a great option for birthday parties, group outings, or a low-key weekend hangout. Prices are very reasonable, and there’s plenty of parking available. The location is convenient and easy to find right off Route 1.

The Charter Street Cemetery, also known as Old Burying Point Cemetery, is a historic graveyard located in Salem. Dating back to 1637, it is the city's oldest cemetery and holds the remains of notable figures from Salem's past, including Judge John Hathorne. The cemetery features worn gravestones that serve as a reminder of Salem's intriguing history.
Scary & Legendary! This is it, the cemetery were the witches are buried, you have to come here if you are in Salem, this is why you are here. Not so scary and too be noted you can buy a few souvenirs in the shops around!

Amazing visit! A must see. The attendants were very helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable.
Tom P — Google review
I'm a Salem resident and I am on a mission to tour all the local attractions AND historical sites. About this one: The Charter Street Cemetery Welcome Center is actually a very interesting example of a First-Period house, built in 1672 for mariner Samuel Pickman and only recently transformed into the Welcome Center of the adjacent graveyard. It was beautifully restored over the years and, for the architecture buffs, its structure is rich in details (windows, exposed beams, corbels etc). When you get inside - entrance is from the back, not on the street - you can visit two rooms on the first floor, one is their gift shop and the other is a small exhibition about both the house and the cemetery. Even though this makes a very quick visit (5/10 minutes), it's worth the visit since it's conveniently located downtown, it's free and it provides information about the cemetery. Also, the gift shop is small but you might find things here you can't find elsewhere. They occasionally organize/host free lectures - I attended one on Puritan funeral habits and another on colonial medicinal herbs, both very enjoyable and informative. PROs You get the chance to see the well preserved inside of one of the only two 1600s houses in Salem which are open to the public for free (the others require tickets - the other free to the public from the 1600s is only occasionally open and not restored). It's free and picture-worthy! CONs No real cons here, but be aware that during tourist season, especially in October, the entire area of the cemetery, memorial etc gets VERY, VERY busy. Entrance to the welcome center might be limited or might require a reservation (check their website). On a normal day, like today, no lines, no waiting, no issues at all.
Valentina O — Google review
We went here today and toured the cemetery. We walked just past the witch trials memorial. The person at the gate was very helpfull. Some of the people buried were involved in the trials. I saw graves from the 1680s. Only one person who was hanged for being a witch is buried here and then o ly many years after her death I also posted a few photos of the spot where they were hung.

Dave was very helpful. Very welcoming and knowledgeable with information. His contribution to preserving the memory and providing a great self guide. Hope to see Dave here for many years to come. It was nice to have an authentic person who is here to spread the knowledge without the gimmick. I’m sad to hear that the city is trying to take it away from him trying to create a tourist trap. KEEP DAVE! He makes the experience 100% worth seeing.

Nathaniel Ingersoll's Ordinary/Tavern is a historic site where the initial witch trial examinations occurred. Although it was initially held in this private house, the space proved too small to accommodate all attendees, leading to a relocation to the meeting house across the street. Today, it stands as a significant location across from the memorial and former meeting house site.
A private house where the first witch trial examinations took place, but it was too small for all the people that wanted to attend and so the examinations were moved to the meeting house. It is across the street from the memorial and former site of the meeting house.

Historical place
The Burying Point, also known as the Charter Street Cemetery, is one of the oldest cemeteries in the United States, established in 1637. It holds historical significance as the burial ground for judges involved in the Salem Witch Trials and victims of the American Revolutionary War. Notably, it is where John Hathorne, known for his harsh role in the Witch Trials, was laid to rest without any sign of remorse.
I'm a Salem resident and I am on a mission to tour all the local attractions AND historical sites. About this one: The Old Burying Point (Charter Street Cemetery) is the oldest colonial graveyard in Salem and one of the oldest in the United States. It is open to the public (you should check their website for opening hours) but you can only walk on the established paths. Contrary to popular belief, no witches were buried here. Still, this cemetery is extremely relevant first of all because of the impressive range of 1600s/1700s/1800s original headstones, many still readable, and because several notable people were buried here. In particular: Salem Witch Trial's judge John Hathorne (great-great-grandfather of Nathaniel Hawthorne), Mayflower's passenger Richard More, Samuel McIntire, considered one of the first architects of the country - and many others. I recommend to walk first to the far-right of the cemetery to have a look at the map of the graveyard so you can locate the relevant headstones. The map faces the "outside" of the cemetery (I guess it is located facing the original entrance of it) so you might not note it at first when using the current entrance (which is next to the Witch Trials Memorial on a pedestrian street). The map is "behind" a taller, rectangular stone. Locating the headstones is important for a meaningful walk through the cemetery. Still, even with the use of the map, not all stones are easy to find. The Charter Street Cemetery is one of the most visited spots in Salem - also because of its location just next to the Witch Trials Memorial - so be aware that it gets very very busy in October. During tourist season, you should check their website as you might have to get a "ticket" in advance to get in (entrance is always free). PROs This is a relevant historical site where both stones and landscape are very well maintained and picturesque. It's free. Pictures are allowed. CONs I can't stress this enough: this place can get busy.
Valentina O — Google review
While visiting Salem, we stopped by this historic graveyard. It was crowded, so we didn’t get to look at a lot of specific graves, but it’s definitely a must visit. We would definitely take a tour to learn more about this historic place.

This is a tiny, historic cemetery in Salem, Mass. There is a small welcome center and gift shop, a memorial to those hanged during the Salem Witch Trials in the late 1690's, and a nice path to walk through. Its interesting, and historic, and worth seeing. But its a cemetery, so don't get your hopes up too high.
Brian P — Google review
Free to enter - opens sometime after 10am on a Tuesday in June. We arrived around 9:30 and this was our first stop after parking and the visitor center. At that time, the gates were still locked, but we could see a lot from the memorial. We came back in the afternoon and it was all unlocked and we got to walk around inside the cemetery. Lots of very old graves and interesting style of the tomb stones. Definitely stop here if you’re visiting Salem, just make sure you don’t come too early or you’ll miss actually getting to go into the cemetery.
Hannah — Google review
Amazing historic cemetery!!! Great place to walk around, you have to stay on the paths in order to help the preservation efforts but you can still see a lot of the old stones.
Travis W — Google review
Really liked this experience, it was kind of moving to see people that were founders of our country and here they are in real life I'll be at deceased but still very much a part of living history. Also don't forget to pay a respects to the which memorial next door very awesome
Michael S — Google review
So when I got there there was a lady standing at the gate and you have to scan a ticket to make reservations it is free to walk through the cemetery. So once you go when it will take you around a loop the cemetery is very old dating back to the 1600s and it's very cool you are not able to walk on the grass and must stay on the path. I love checking cemeteries out and I thought this one was pretty cool and old-looking. I would definitely recommend checking this place out if you are into history and old cemeteries like I am.

Salem Willows Park, established in 1858, holds a special place in the hearts of locals and tourists alike. This historic park offers a range of attractions including a carousel, arcade games, food vendors, and a beautiful beach. The park's rich history is evident through its former amenities such as Restaurant Row and various rides like the merry-go-round and miniature train.
It's winter, all the facilities are closed, so are the businesses. All that remains are the memories of summer nights with friends now gone. The Willows in winter still provides walking trails and gorgeous views of Salem waterfront. The fishing pier is beautifully restored and open to walk or fish. Texas Roadhouse is a lively chain steakhouse that offers American cuisine with a Southwestern twist, all within a Texas-themed setting. Despite the busy atmosphere, guests are seated promptly and can enjoy delicious food at reasonable prices. The menu remains consistent, featuring favorites like rib eye steak and their famous rolls with honey butter. The staff is known for being friendly and attentive, providing excellent service to ensure an enjoyable dining experience.
It was my first time at Texas Roadhouse and definitely not my last! My partner and I joined the waitlist with an hour wait (from home there’s an app) then we ran errands while waiting for our table- which is very convenient. Once arrived, we were promptly seated and the place was packed. I mentioned it was my first time there and the host gave me a better table, then the server was lovely. I told him it was my first time again, and this time the manager came out and brought me a sample plate of appetizers which was delicious and now I know what I’m going to get. The food was 10/10 and the atmosphere was perfect. The rolls were amazing and I would definitely eat there again!

Great Steaks at a Fair Price: Texas Roadhouse is known for its hand-cut steaks, and they generally live up to the hype. The meat is flavorful, cooked to order, and generously portioned. Prices are reasonable for the quality you get, especially compared to higher-end steakhouses. Friendly, Lively Atmosphere: The vibe is energetic—think country music, line dancing by staff, and a casual, rustic interior. It’s a great spot for families, groups, or anyone looking for a laid-back meal. Fresh-Baked Bread & Cinnamon Butter: The complimentary rolls and cinnamon butter are standout favorites. They’re fresh, warm, and honestly addictive. Consistent Service: While service can vary slightly by location, most diners find the servers friendly and attentive. The staff generally makes an effort to create a welcoming experience.

She was accommodating, pleasant and attentive, truly elevating the experience after a ROUGH personal day. On top of that, restaurant was clean and the food was delicious. It was a great date night.

We stopped here while traveling through because Texas is one of our favorites. Standard Texas restaurant. No wait to get seated and they were busy. But our food took a long time to come out and when it did the meat was overcooked. Kababs ordered as medium had a lot of gristle and we're blacked on the outside and grey on the inside. Ribs were overcooked and chewy. They remade the ribs. The broccoli was pale green and undercooked. It just didn't taste good. Really disappointing overall.

If you're looking for a great steakhouse, I highly recommend giving them a try. They have a really extensive menu with lots of different food and drink options to choose from, so there's likely something for everyone. Beyond the variety, I also found the staff to be incredibly friendly and attentive. Overall, it was a very positive dining experience.

From the moment I stepped into this steakhouse, I knew it was going to be an unforgettable dining experience. The warm lighting, elegant yet cozy atmosphere, and attentive staff set the tone right away. What impressed me most was the perfect balance of sophistication and comfort—this is the kind of place where you can celebrate a special occasion or simply enjoy a night out without feeling rushed. The star of the evening, of course, was the steak. I ordered the ribeye, cooked medium rare, and it was absolute perfection—juicy, tender, and bursting with flavor. You could taste the quality of the beef, and the chef’s skill in preparation was undeniable. Each bite had that perfect charred crust on the outside with a melt-in-your-mouth texture inside. My dining companions ordered the filet mignon and the porterhouse, and we couldn’t stop trading bites because each cut was just as exceptional. Beyond the steak, the sides and starters were equally impressive. The truffle mashed potatoes were creamy and indulgent, the roasted Brussels sprouts had a delightful crispness, and the shrimp cocktail was fresh and flavorful. The wine list was extensive, with options to suit every palate, and our server gave spot-on recommendations that paired beautifully with our meals.

Over all my family and I had a horrendous experience at the Danvers location. From my earlier complaint about front of house ignoring customers as they wait to put their names on the waitlist while they take phone calls to put names on the waitlist to a meal disaster. I ordered Fillet Medallions, well done. They arrived bright pink. When I was able to report the problem, the waiter wanted to just take the meat. I explained that everything was cold and I’d like a new meal cooked as ordered. Paul took the meal to the kitchen and they sent him back to me with the cold rice and sauce explaining that they were only re-cooking the meat. This server was so nice and clearly more aware than the kitchen that this was not the correct way to handle the mistake as he kept apologizing. I asked him to take the rice and sauce away. Moments later a manager returned to our table and abruptly stated, “cut it and make sure it’s right”. But this was now 3 medallions of beef and the rest of the meal was missing. In front of my family I couldn’t complain any further as the manager was clearly oblivious. Overall an absolutely horrifying experience for my family and I. My $136.64 would have been more satisfying to throw out the window of my car. I just don’t know how they get away with treating people like this. It was a disaster and nobody there showed the ability to understand the mistakes so it was pointless to cause a scene. The kitchen, management and staff need some customer service training.

Winter Island Park, situated in Salem, is a historical and picturesque marine recreational park offering seasonal RV and tent camping. It holds significant historical value as the location of Salem's first tavern and shipyard. The park features panoramic views of Salem Harbor and the Atlantic Ocean, along with remnants of its past that add to its allure. Visitors can enjoy picnicking, scenic walking trails showcasing wildlife and native plants, as well as untouched beaches for relaxation.
I absolutely loved this place, not the fanciest but one of my favorites. The views were amazing the office staff, security and maintenance were all friendly and helpful. Walking the dogs around was enjoyable and relaxing. The beach was beautiful. Honestly the only issues were the boaters using the boat ramp fly through the parking lot. And the bathrooms need some upkeep but they were clean!

Setting up reservations for a place we've never been has never been so easy! The site was a bit small yet cozy in its own way. You're only a few minutes from the tourist area of Salem. The beach and views were over the top and beautiful. The bath house could use some upgrades, but it was clean. Staff was so very kind and friendly.
Lindsey T — Google review
Camp ground is nice, great price and proximity to Salem . If you are camping the raccoons are huge and they will get into your stuff! Do not leave any food out . Also if you are tent camping anywhere near the gate . Be prepared to not get much sleep. The gate is constantly opening and closing throughout the night. People drive in at all hours and have music blasting. If it’s not the gate, it’s the raccoons getting into garbage, or the planes fling in / out of Logan. Suggest bringing ear plugs.
Suzanne E — Google review
In my opinion, this is the best way to stay in Salem. A tent site is 38 a night. If you book far enough in advance you can stay close enough to the beach you will hear the waves while you sleep. As afar as the physical grounds, its okay, nothing special, its the location that makes it next level. The island is little and easy to.get around. If you have bikes, this is a perfect adventure for anyone wanting to be close enough to all the Salem action in October without the price tag. We walked everywhere. Its totally reasonbly walkable if you are a person who enjoys walking. There are ubers as well and for the most part ubers are cheaper than the parking in the center of town. You could always uber into the center and walk around there and uber back. It was $12 one way when I did it. Parking was 50. There is some sort of power station that does make some noise and planes regularly go overhead. As you walk around the little island you will hear these. It did not bother my ability to sleep. I will add video and photos to this review later today.

The park was really nice. The camp grounds were clean. The bath house was a bit run down so I did not use them. The staff were very nice and suggested great things to see in Salem. Being right next to the water was beautiful. The hook ups for the camper were good but there is no sewage. You have to go next door to a waste treatment plant to dump the waste. I didn't see any vending machines or other amenities. There was a place to launch your boat if you have one.
Kerry C — Google review
This RV park is basically a parking lot so the spots are VERY close together. We had a hose connection that was leaking fresh water and our neighbor complained. The maintenance man came and checked it out and said everything was OK. He was nice & professional. I fixed the drip. Then, our neighbor complained again and Peggy from the camp office came over and harassed us about it. We did not appreciate the harassment. We explained to Peggy that her coworker already addressed the issue, but she kept on going on about it until we asked for her name. This camp site had a beautiful view of the harbor, but we will not stay there again. Peggy needs a lesson in customer service. It is a bit overpriced considering that there is no space & no sewer connection. The bathroom attendant was great and kept the bathrooms cleaned all day.

We found this place the perfect spot for exploring Salem. Has the basics and our site was flat. We were out in the field which suited us with our Starlink. One of the water sites though would have been great. The showers aren’t the best so we used our own. Gorgeous sunsets there.

What a fantastic spot to camp! We were able to get a waterfront site do our RV. The sites are fairly close together but that wasn’t really a problem. Within walking distance of Salem. We will definitely be back!

Nestled in the heart of Salem, the Salem Art Gallery at the Satanic Temple is a unique destination that transforms a former funeral parlor into an intriguing public space. This gallery stands out as it serves as both an art venue and the international headquarters for The Satanic Temple. Visitors can marvel at striking installations, including the notable Baphomet statue, while exploring multimedia exhibitions that delve into themes of witch-hunts and moral panics.
As a proud member I’m so glad I finally got to visit TST. Really nice and welcoming staff, they make you feel at home. I wasn’t expecting to see all the artwork they have, it was AMAZING. Please if you visit Salem make sure to visit, it’s totally worth it; now I can’t wait to go back!!

Really enjoyed the time I spent here. The place is quiet and calm. There is quite a bit to see. Person working was very helpful and kind. The art was amazing and they encouraged photos. The atmosphere is very welcoming. I'm not a member (only because I swore off any and all organized religion) but I am a supporter (and fangirl maybe). They have a great mission if you take the time to hear it. My daughter was really excited about all the souvenirs I brought her from the gift shop. Definitely recommend.

If I could give this place more stars than 5 I would. TST is one of my FAVORITE places to visit while in Salem. My first visit was end of 2018/ beginning of 2019. Soon after I became a member and visit frequently. These are some of the kindest humans I’ve ever met! They keep amazing artwork in the gallery and I’m always amazed at the talent that comes though here. The work they do and the causes that they support I can get behind 100%. Nothing but respect and love for TST! HIGHLY recommend visiting and learning about what there all about for yourself!

Like a kid in a candy store! When you come all the way from Europe to see what you have only been able to see on pictures and you realise...there is so much more to see! There is no way a picture could ever tell you the textures, you do not get the general ambiance, you do not get the nuances...the experience and the very warm welcome is worth the trip! The decor itself, the curtains, the cabinets, the wall paper, that building is a piece of art on its own. The outside and the beautiful dahlias, roses and other carefully curated beauties is already a beautiful collection! Let us not forget the amazing collections of arts, books and other artefacts! I had no idea the permanent collection was going to be so exceptional! I don't feel that s a secret as it was announced to us as we walked in but I didn't expect originals and my eyes watered a little...the library is pretty impressive and from what I heard, it's only a fragment. John, Erica and Audrey were absolutely lovely! The shop is neat and tidy and very easy to navigate, which is a rarity for a gift shop and very much so appreciated. I would definitely love to come back on a regular basis because I feel like there is always something new to see.

Was adorably amazing. Not too pricy (~$12 per person). Spent about an hour here with a group of 4. There aren't a lot of elaborate holes (not a lot of moving things and electronics). But the backlights and skillful artwork made it well worth it.

Return visit with grandchild. Noted even more machines in arcade didn't work; why do broken machines still have their lights on. Grandchild won a big bonus (1900+) tickets on a machine I was playing before him. We got an error message during the payout and I went to the desk for help. Staff member came over.... said to a colleague "isn't this machine broken?" and told me there would be no payout. Someone had taken a piece of masking tape off the machine that was supposed to keep it from being used. She then handed me my quarter back. Grandchild didn't understand how someone could be so unfair.... I was flabbergasted; what would have been the financial impact of the payout--5 bucks?. Will never set foot in facility with any of my family and friends. Too bad...

Additionally, visitors can enjoy beaches, picnic areas, playgrounds, and scenic trails within the park's forested surroundings.
Such a beautiful coastal park. Has plenty of walkways that are paved and easy to walk. Right along plenty of beaches, coasts and filled with trees and endless beautiful views. Very nice and brisk walk, highly recommend if you are in the area.

We love the pool and the playground. Some of the lifeguards are a little too strict when it comes to the kids playing. I completely understand that there’s rules for a reason but let’s keep them the same across the board. Also if the parent is there with the child let the parents enforce the rules. Please don’t yell at my kid in front of me. Otherwise this place is great I’ve been going there for over 30 years. We love it here. Most of the staff is great! I do wish there were some picnic tables closer to the pool so you didn’t have to pack all your stuff up and walk across the park to have lunch.

Nestled in the vibrant Salem neighborhood known as "El Punto," the Punto Urban Art Museum (PUAM) is a captivating open-air gallery that showcases over 75 stunning murals. Established by the North Shore Community Development Coalition in 2017, this unique museum not only highlights artistic talent from New England and beyond but also serves as a platform for social justice and community engagement.

Instead of staying in the downtown historic, witchy area of Salem, venture only a few minutes away to a beautiful and powerful piece of culture for the Latino and immigrant citizens of Salem. There are stunning pieces of street work that had my traveling partner and I in awe. I’m impressed with the Punto Urban Art Museum and what they have to offer. I hope that other cities look to Salem’s work here and try something similar. It honors the hard working people of this community! One of my favorite murals included a quote from an artist who said they painted what they wanted in their childhood: a neighborhood with a playground. Wow. Loved it.

Real, authentic, relatable, beautiful, truth. This is how I would describe the Punto Urban Art Museum. I often have a hard time relating to certain art forms because the canvas, lyrics, images, etc don’t speak to me. Though I couldn’t see my experience through most of these pieces, I saw some of my friends as well as my ancestors. If you’re in Salem to enjoy the fall festivities, check out this outdoor museum. You’ll be moved.

I have been coming to this spa for many years. They are full service. The facilities are clean and well designed. Very relaxing atmosphere where I never feel rushed or pressured. I also love that they tell you about products-but are not over pushy and ruin the experience for you as I have had at other spas. Kaitlin is my regular facialist. My 8yo and 2yo love this place. Reasonably priced. Clean. A lot of staff attendants. However they do not always enforce the rules - let older kids to jump in toddler area. A lot of attractions! Arcade games. We spent 3 hours there and kids didn't want to leave. They have only one bouncy house for toddlers, it would be good if they would have more. I saw a lot of toddlers and big kids jumping together in the smallest "big kids" bouncy house and it looked dangerous for little ones. Overcrowded. My 8yo liked it so much that he wants to have a birthday party there. I'd give it 4.5 stars.

My only issue was that the admission fee is not worth it especially if you are going to be there for an hour or so cause you still have to pay to play the arcade games. A little disappointing but not a deal breaker. I'll definitely be back with the kids.

Crowded but over all I was happy that my child had a good time. Place wasn't as cleaned as I would have like. There wasnt many staff members attending to the areas of play or the sit down areas. I think they would benefit from asking ALL guest to remove shoes. Rug really felt gross. There's no way of getting your shoes to go to the bathroom. So kids with no shoes and adults with shoes in the bathrooms! Yuck. 🤢 I do like that they do door check when exiting if your leaving with a child and food is reasonably priced. I also liked that they had a variety of different bouncy houses that was great for kids of all ages

This enchanting destination offers a variety of themed photo shoot experiences, including their delightful Awkward Holiday sessions that run from early November to late December. Picture yourself surrounded by festive backdrops like cozy living rooms adorned with twinkling lights and charming sleigh rides while donning whimsical holiday sweaters and accessories—perfect for capturing those memorable family moments.
We had so much fun!! Getting to choose our costumes was hard, because they have so many to choose from. The staff was a great help and very friendly. The photographer was great. She took multiple photos of my two daughters and myself together and then of us each alone. The props were fun. It was definetly worth the money spent. We have a lot of photos to choose from that we can print off and put in our Salem photo albums.(cost extra). A must do while visiting Salem!! It's best to book your photo shoot online. We were in Salem one day, during Haunted Happenings and on a Saturday. 10~11~25

My friend and I took a roadtrip this October. I’ve previously visited Salem before but she did not. We decided to book a session for pictures at Witch Pix and it was amazing. From the time you walked in to the time they found the right outfit for your shoot. Start to finish the staff were so kind and awesome. Our photographer was also amazing and decided to try some cool unique poses. I would highly recommend doing this with your group or partner. You will have the best experience!

Wow, awesome experience, it really was something to remember, I did it with my wife and two girls, the photos came out awesome, the costume dressing was awesome they know what there doing. They dress you and position you when taking photos, they have props and tons of outfits. They actually have people that dress you based on what you like and style. We have tons of photos to choose from and download to keep. The location is easy to find and is part of the little mall,

We booked an hour long private session the day after Halloween, and we had a blast doing our pictures. Alyssa did an amazing job making the experience fun and capturing our best sides. The staff who helped us pick out our outfits listened to what we wanted to achieve for our looks, and they delivered. We loved we had a momento to commerate our 9th anniversary! For what we paid it was such a great value for how many photos we got. Normally for this sort of shoot I might get a dozen high res photos, but we ended up with over 100 shots both as a couple and solo. This was a highlight of our trip.

I can't recommend this experience enough. It was so much fun and truly reminded me of the Glamor Shots but with Witch attire. The staff is kind, and helpful in helping you pick out your look. The photographer Toby is very professional and helpful in adjusting posses and capturing just the right looks. If your planning a trip to Salem, getting a Witch Pix is a must.

I'm a little late in leaving a review but I just wanted to say how much fun we had getting professional shots of ourselves for Halloween! I called them up the morning of the 31st and they were able to squeeze us in which was very nice of them. Also, I had my cat with me and I thought it would be fun to take pictures with him. They were so nice and patient with him especially when he was getting really fidgety/distracted. The pictures turned out amazing and I can't wait to frame them! There were photos of my cat where his harness was sticking out from underneath the costume they put on him but they went out of their way to take the time to photoshop it out which was super nice of them! If you're in Salem for Halloween and want to get some fun photos of your fur baby and yourself, I definitely recommend them!

We had the most wonderful experience at Witch Pix. Our son planned to propose to his girlfriend while we were in Salem and capturing the proposal was well above my skill level. Toby was able to take our idea for the proposal and elevate it beyond anything we could have imagined. It was truly a magical moment for them and without the entire staff there, this would not have been possible. Our gratitude for your efforts goes beyond words.

Metaphysical supply store
Nestled in the heart of Salem, Crow Haven Corner is a captivating destination that beautifully intertwines history and magic. As the oldest witch shop in town, it offers an impressive array of mystical supplies—from herbs and crystals to spell kits and candles—making it a must-visit for both seasoned practitioners and curious newcomers alike. Visitors can immerse themselves in the enchanting atmosphere by participating in guided walking tours that explore Salem's rich witchcraft history, including a traditional witches circle dance down Garden Alley.
Absolutely amazing experience! My sister and I booked ourselves in for the witch walk tour online (very easily I might add) we had a lovely time with our tour guide Aaron he was full of knowledge and so great to talk with, he made us feel very comfortable and like we had been friends forever, I went didn't have to rush off for a broom making workshop we would have stayed and chatted with Aaron all day or until his next tour. Aaron was full of knowledge and fun facts we had an absolute ball! I cannot speak highly enough about the shop and how beautiful the garden area is such a calming space with the most stunning flowers and ambiance. I cannot wait to visit Salem again and the crew at Crow Haven Corner I did not realize that there was an air BNB above the shop I will definitely be booking my next stay here!

I honestly can’t say enough good things about Lorelei. She’s not only an incredible psychic, but someone I’ve looked up to my whole life. She’s helped me through so many tough times and always left me feeling lighter and more grounded. Her magic is the real deal and not something to be taken lightly. On top of that, she lives in this beautiful historic building that’s over 200 years old, and she even uses half of it to rescue animals and help families who are struggling, as well as people without housing. That tells you everything about the kind person she is.

We had readings here and also did the witch walk. Had so much fun, readings with laurie were SO good, she was so lovely and spot on. Did the witch walk that night and our guide was so much fun. it has that extra element because you get to go into the garden and do some magic before the tour. Highly recommend.

A Truly Enchanting Experience at Crow Haven Corner ✨ From the moment I stepped through the doors of Crow Haven Corner in Salem, I felt an energy shift—warm, mysterious, and deeply magical. But nothing could have prepared me for the radiant presence of Lorelai, the world-famous Love Witch. She is even more magical in person than I could have ever imagined. Lorelai’s spirit shines so brightly—she exudes a rare and beautiful combination of wisdom, kindness, and pure enchantment. Her warmth is immediate and comforting, and her intuitive gifts are beyond this world. I felt truly seen and understood in her presence. The entire space of Crow Haven Corner is filled with the most captivating energy—beautiful crystals, sacred tools, and treasures from another realm. You don’t just walk in—you experience it. If you’re searching for guidance, healing, love, or simply a connection to something bigger than yourself, this is the place. And if you’re lucky enough to meet Lorelai, prepare for your heart to be touched in ways you didn’t know were possible. Crow Haven Corner is pure magic—and so is Lorelai. 🌹🔮💫

I met with the lovely Joanna yesterday. I highly recommend her. I did a 15 minute reading with her. She did palm, tarot cards and psychic medium all in one which was awesome. Immediately I felt very comfortable with her. Seems to be a down to earth person. I did not tell her anything and she was pretty much spot on. My reading made me feel very loved and seen. I’ll be looking for some pennies in my future 😉 I would love to speak with Joanna again someday. Much love, Danielle

I had a 15-minute reading for €50 and unfortunately left very disappointed. The reader didn’t use the cards at all until the owner came in and mentioned it — which was already strange for a tarot session. His energy felt off from the start, and the reading was very generic with comments that didn’t resonate. I had to interrupt several times to clarify simple things (for example, that I’m not in a relationship, so his comments about a partner made no sense). The theme I asked for was my love life, but he kept diverting to mythology and even to my ring, instead of offering any clear insight. He also kept checking the time on his phone, which made the whole experience feel rushed and impersonal. The owner, who seemed lovely, even stepped in to ask if I wanted something else. I decided to continue with the person (sorry I don’t remember the name he had a lovely makeup and purple bandage in his head) but I now really wish I had chosen to do the reading with her instead. Overall, there was no real connection or depth, and I didn’t get the interaction or explanations that make tarot meaningful. For €50, it felt disappointing and borderline like a scam. I’m open-minded and wanted to believe in the experience, but this one just didn’t feel genuine or worth it. On the + positive side, the boutique is beautiful and the staff were so friendly!!

I wanted to say everyone’s so nice here! Also got a walk in tarot reading a few days ago (last Friday lol). I forgot his name - I think it was Zack? (sorry) Anyway he’s really cool and funny, probably best reading I’ve done in person. Never had someone go into depth with accuracy, and was actually patient, instead of rushing the reading. And it was my first time where I quickly got comfortable into a reading. My friend didn’t get a reading but she sat in the room with me, and he let both of us get a crystal at the end! Definitely will come back! 🥰

I had an amazing tarot reading with Joanna! She was very personable and made me feel super comfortable. She touched on so many things that resonated with me. She connected with past loved ones and gave me insight into my future/love life as well as past situations. She told me a lot of things I needed to hear. Definitely a great reading! ☺️
