El Gallineral Natural Park is a sprawling 4-hectare island park in San Gil, Colombia. The park features walkways that wind through trees adorned with silvery moss known as old man's beard. Visitors can enjoy the serene riverside, an observation deck offering stunning mountain and countryside views, and even embark on mountain biking tours from the park.
It was an incredible experience. The park is beautiful, they do charge though, all the information we found about it didn’t say anything about it, but it is not expensive, only $7.000 pesos. Animals are hard to find, but you will still enjoy it!!!!

I wish I could have walked this place in it's glory. Now, it's fairly run down and sad. It reminds me of the abandoned properties in Jurassic Park films with an abandoned aviary to match. Its quiet but if you have mobility issues, this is not for you. Interesting things to see but very run down now.
James F — Google review
This is one of the most beautiful parks I have ever been to. There are so many things I liked and found very interesting, including the beautiful flowers, the fascinating variety of trees that adorn the entire place, the running river that fills the place with the sounds of splashing water and the 2 little ponds that fit in perfectly in the whole scenery. I would most definitely recommend a visit there.
Dimitrios C — Google review
Beautiful, super green park. The majority of the park contains nature walking trails with huge trees, a river and so much to see. There is also a restaurant that had good food and a swimming pool. Great place! I would visit again.
Chris L — Google review
A pretty and peaceful stop to while away some hours and stretch your legs. We visited with our two small kids (1 and 4 years old) while on a road trip from Bogota to Los Santos. It was an easy win with the kids - lots of squirrels, birds and turtles to check out, some interesting plants for the adults, a decent playground and good restaurant (Plates were big and we shared, otherwise you could say it is a bit overpriced). Entry is 6k per adult and we didn’t have to pay for the kids. Pool was 10k/person - we opted out.
Rena B — Google review
Great place to walk around and take pictures. Right downtown. Free if you are 60+, otherwise less than $2 each. A great activity for an hour or two.
Tom P — Google review
This park is really nice, a bit hidden from the busy city you can find a decent peace of nature there. Stunning trees and multiple animals such as turtles or squirrels and parrots hummingbirds (if you are patient). Overall the visit will take you up to 30mn max. Worth considering if you have a bit to spend before catching a bus.
Emilien M — Google review
I loved it, the place is magical, it is a place to breath and relax, to hear the nature, there is a swimming pool too, it cost 6000 COP the ticket and 10000 COP if you wanna go to the swimming pool.

Restaurant
Gringo Mike's San Gil is a popular restaurant located in the heart of San Gil, Colombia. Despite its Western-style menu, it has gained a strong reputation for its delicious international dishes such as burgers and burritos. The restaurant offers a lovely courtyard setting and reasonably priced meals, making it an ideal spot for travelers looking for familiar comfort food. Additionally, Gringo Mike's caters to vegetarians with a variety of plant-based options on their menu.
Review of Gringo Mike’s, San Gil, Colombia I never thought I’d travel to San Gil, Colombia, and end up eating one of the best burgers of my life, but Gringo Mike’s completely blew my expectations out of the water. From the moment I stepped in, the cozy, vibrant atmosphere and the friendly staff made me feel right at home. And then came the burger. Oh. My. God. Perfectly cooked, juicy, and packed with flavor, this was no ordinary burger—it was an experience. The toppings were fresh and creative, the bun was perfectly toasted, and the portions were generous enough to satisfy even the hungriest traveler. I also couldn’t resist trying one of their smoothies, and it was like pure sunshine in a glass. Fresh, tropical, and made with so much care. Gringo Mike’s isn’t just a place to eat—it’s a must-visit for anyone passing through San Gil. Whether you’re craving a taste of home or just looking for incredible food, this spot delivers in every way. I’ll be dreaming about that burger for a long time!

My wife and I, along with her cousin and his wife, had an absolutely phenomenal experience at Gringo Mike’s in San Gil! From the moment we stepped in, the atmosphere was incredibly relaxing and welcoming, striking the perfect balance of casual and socially vibrant. It’s the kind of place where you feel instantly at ease, whether you’re catching up with friends or enjoying a cozy meal with family. The food? Simply out of this world! Every dish was bursting with flavor, prepared with care and creativity that made each bite a delight. From the perfectly seasoned mains to the mouthwatering sides, it was clear that Gringo Mike’s takes pride in serving delicious, high-quality food that leaves you wanting more. The menu had something for everyone, blending bold flavors with comforting classics in a way that felt both exciting and familiar. We spent the evening laughing, sharing stories, and savoring every moment in the warm, inviting ambiance. The staff were friendly and attentive, adding to the overall charm of the place. Gringo Mike’s is an absolute gem in San Gil, and we’re already looking forward to our next visit. If you’re in the area, do yourself a favor and stop by—you won’t be disappointed! Highly, highly recommended!

AMAZING burgers and onion rings! San Gil didn’t prove itself being the Food Mecca on our 2 month trip but the guys at Gringo Mike’s now their burgers! We came back three times and it was always delicious! The staff was also always friendly and helpful. If you look for a big, good quality burger accompanied with good tunes- this is the place to be! 😎
Julian — Google review
Great place for american comfort food. The menu is large and has plenty of options : burgers, burritos, salads, sandwiches. Portions are large just as Americans like it. Very satisfied and highly recommend
Camila G — Google review
If I could give them 6/5 stars I’d surely do it. Amazing and fast service. My girl ordered a burrito and I ordered a burger. However, what they served to us was the best culinary experience we’ve ever had. Long story short… best restaurant in the area.

I’ve went here a couple of times and was always the only one there (the entire town’s pretty empty right now) so I can’t say much about the atmosphere. The food is great and varied but the prices are a bit high.
Asaf C — Google review
Yummy food and great hospitality. I’ll definitely be coming back. Portion sizes are pretty big and filling.
Rovi B — Google review
The food is the best that I have tasted in this area! The service is great and the prices are fine as well. The restaurant is filled with candle lights which gives a “romantic” atmosphere to the place.

Sam's VIP Hostel San Gil offers a laid-back atmosphere with simple dorms and comfortable private rooms. The hostel features two well-equipped kitchens, a lovely swimming pool, and even a sauna for guests to enjoy. Additionally, there is an on-site tour company to assist with organizing activities. Guests have praised the efficient check-in process and the amazing amenities such as jacuzzis in some rooms.
Great hostel experience. Perfect location and the staff was very helpful. Thank you Daniela for helping me plan my stay. Facilities were great and very clean. I will be back
Patrick K — Google review
I loved staying at this hostel, right on the main square in San Gil. Diego and Amanda made me feel right at home, booked my rafting and caving excursions with ease, and gave me recommendations around the area. The rooms and common areas were clean, as well as the pool and sauna (!) which was a first for me. The only minor complaint I had was that the mattress I slept on wasn't entirely comfortable (indent down the middle and I woke up a lot from discomfort). The sliding door to the room might also need some adjustment as it was difficult to open. Overall, great stay in one of my favorite small towns in Colombia and I hope to be back again soon!

I stayed at Sam’s VIP hostel for 1 night and decided to extend it because everyone was so friendly and there’s so much to do in San Gil!! Sam himself is extremely kind and helpful along with his receptionists. The recommended all kinds of activities and even booked me a moto taxi when I was in a rush. The hostel itself is huge and has beautiful views of both the city and the mountains from the pool. It also has a great classical guitar that I played every night. I can’t recommend here enough!

Really nice laidback hostel with a terrace overlooking the main square. 2 kitchens, plenty of bathrooms to use between guests and comfortable beds. The home is a little dated but it’s no problem for us. We would return.

Very nice hostel and unbeatable price right in the centre! They even offer a Sauna which was the first hostel I ever encountered with that. Amanda is super nice and helped me with my plans in San Gil and made me feel very welcome right away. I would always come back to it, 10/10

I have stayed here 4 days so far! It is right on the main park and right at all the shops and restaurants! A pool, sauna, balcony overlooking the park. Clean rooms, very low cost, and the friendliest staff you can imagine, to book any adventure activity you desire! Sam, Amanda, and Catherina are muy muy chimba! Look no further! Also a big central room to hang out and talk!

Parque Extremo El Peñón Guane is a thrilling activity complex located just 10 minutes from San Gil. The main attraction is the exhilarating zipline that runs over the Guane Gorge. Visitors can also experience the adrenaline rush of a 140-meter bungee jump, with helpful staff easing any nerves. The complex offers typical local food and beverages, as well as attractions like a cable crossing and a giant swing.
The zip lining, absailing, hiking, and swing were PHENOMENAL!!! The staff were amazing and made us feel safe during some wild activities. I recommend it wholeheartedly!
Nat S — Google review
Did the 140 meter bungee. The staff were helpful with my nerves. When I asked for help after I was too chicken to jump the 1st try, the 1 guy told me to hold the harness instead of the railings. And that's when I knew there was no way I wasn't going down then! On the second try, the guy behind kicked me a little which gave my body just the jolt it needed to dive headfirst. I don't have any photos in an X like others I've seen cuz I went headfirst like right away somehow. I've met 2 people who got hurt bungee-ing and both got hurt cuz they weren't head first. For me, I didn't really focus too hard on that, it just happened and as I was falling I thought "bless, I'm headfirst, I don't have to worry about that anymore" 😂 So my photos are just of the tops of my shoes. You can feel a kind of tug on your ankles once you're hooked up to the bungee, which made me feel very secure that I wasn't going to disconnect from the bungee. It also felt like if you stood there long enough, it'd eventually drag you down when you're not prepared which could be very unsafe. So that feeling was also motivation to jump. Getting the nerve to jump was not as scary as I expected (the push from the guy was a big help, I'm sure). I think the scariest part was when I was being brought up and was so close to the platform but had to wait for them to pull the bungee up before they could bring me all the way in. The feeling was nothing like I had ever experienced before, so I recommend everyone who can to try bungee jumping at least once. I personally did not enjoy the feelings going through me as I was bouncing, spinning, and dangling. It felt like I was down there for 5 minutes, but the videos prove it wasn't even 2 whole minutes! But I have no clue how to describe how it felt, so I can't say it wouldn't be a good feeling for other people! I'm glad I did it and I felt very safe and hyped up with the people at Bungee Extremo. But I know it's not a feeling I want to experience more than once! Now when I watch the videos, I lose it when I hear my screams 😂😂
Maddi P — Google review
Loved being there! It’s a must if you’re staying in San Gil or Barichara. Here you can enjoy typical food, beverages, get some drinks and the best part is that it has attractions like bungee, a cable to the other side of the cliffs and a huge swing! Prices are affordable and taxis always come and go, if you want to return using the bus be aware that they have a specific time (every hour or so)

Cerro de la Cruz is a must-visit destination for those seeking an exhilarating hiking experience near San Gil. This well-known trail leads you to a prominent white cross that overlooks the city, providing breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and landscape. While the hike presents some challenges, particularly a steep section after passing a large mall, it remains accessible with proper footwear. The path is mostly paved, making it easier for hikers to navigate.
Nice view of the city. All paved road to the top. La Gruta has more expansive view of San Gil. Pictures taken on the way up then back down to the river. - 2022/08/26

Nice viewpoint over the city of San GIl. Nothing spectacular, but worth it to check it out if you're nearby. The way to get there isn't too hard aprt from one bit that is quite steep, right after the big mall (prefer proper shoes over flip flops even if the ascension remains on concrete surface). There is also another viewpoint called La Gurta across the city from la Gruta.

Simple walk up a steep hill with some cars and then small walk up side walkway. Worthwhile for exercise and something simple and close. Good outlook over the town.

Nestled in a charming colonial house, Macondo Hostel offers an inviting atmosphere that feels like home. Upon arrival, guests are greeted by Shawn, the owner, who enthusiastically shares a slideshow of exciting local activities. With options like paragliding on the table, adventure is just around the corner! The hostel features comfortable dorms and private rooms along with spacious communal areas perfect for socializing.
We had a great stay at Macondo and even extended our 2 day stay to 12 days! The staff are very attentive, giving advice on the local area as well as the whole of Colombia, and they all knew each customer by name. They gave lots of information on the many activities to do in the area and booked all of them for us. The dorm beds are comfy and the room itself is spacious. The only extra would be a curtain. The bathrooms are huge, clean and well lit. The garden is beautiful, with lots of greenery. The kitchen is well equipped and cleaned regularly. They were also nice enough to let us store our luggage and spend time in the hostel before our bus, despite us having left the hostel to go to Barichara a few days prior. Would definitely recommend this hostel, thank you to all staff for a lovely stay!
Josephine D — Google review
I loved my stay at the Macondo Hostel. The staff and owner were very friendly and informative, ensuring all our needs and activities were met and secured. Everything was walkable. The staff even provide recommendations of places to see, do, and eat at. Everyone was really chill and the hostel provides activities for everyone to do so you can meet other travelers! I played Tejo for free and loved it. I was able to do rafting, caving, and swimming!
Rovi B — Google review
The folks that run this hostel are so kind and helpful! They offer luggage storage, lines to dry clothes on, and let my friend and I wait around for our night buses after we checked-out. They run lots of activities all the time and are super helpful with questions. 6 bed room was good - a bit on the louder side but did the trick.
Maddy S — Google review
I had a private room with shared bathroom for 3 nights. The room was quite spacious and next to the road but it's a quiet area so did not disturb my sleep. The staff were helpful, the location is less than 5 minutes walking distance to the main square, they have activity nights, card & board games, jacuzzi, social area upstairs and downstairs, they also messaged me ahead of my arrival to ensure a smooth arrival. The hostel was not very busy as it's off season but still there are a few people. The WiFi was ok and I would say that the shared bathroom on the main floor needs a bit more lighting.
Ronak S — Google review
I rarely write reviews, but in the case of Macondo Hostel I just have to, also in order to thank them for the amazing time I had in San Gil. The owner and all the staff members are extremely helpful with everything and strive to make your stay as comfortable as possible. They are also an excellent source of information for activities around San Gil and organize rafting, paragliding etc. trips with the best companies in town for each activity. I ended up booking all sporting activities through them since I was so happy with the first rafting trip on Río Fonce that they organized for me and I had great experiences every single time. Literally the only suggestion for improvement that I have is that privacy curtains on the bunk beds in the dorms would be a nice addition, but that's about it. Location, atmosphere, cleanliness and above all the staff and activities were all 10/10! :D
Cecil S — Google review
The hostel itself is ok. It’s clean and has a good kitchen, but only 2 bathrooms, and it’s a struggle to get up to the top bunks as no proper ladder. Also found a few cockroaches but obviously not the hostels fault. The staff who work behind reception are incredibly helpful and kind so I would definitely recommend this hostel purely for this reason as they organised all our activities and helped us with bus options.

I had an incredible stay at Macondo Hostel in San Gil! The owner went above and beyond to make sure we had the best experience possible. He helped with every detail of our trip planning, offering great recommendations for local activities and even took us to play Tejo – a fun and unique experience! What really stood out was how he made the effort to connect with every guest, speaking with everyone and making us all feel truly welcome. He also helped us plan the Real Camino hike, making sure we were well-prepared and knew what to expect. The hostel itself was spotless, with a great, friendly atmosphere. I was also really impressed by the free baggage storage offered while we went on our hike – a huge help! If you’re in San Gil, I highly recommend staying at Macondo Hostel. It’s a perfect place to relax, meet new people, and get some insider tips for exploring the area. Would definitely stay again!

Penelope Pizzería San Gil is a popular restaurant known for its delicious and unique pizzas, including a mashed potato pizza that has received high praise. The cozy interior adds to the dining experience, allowing guests to savor the fresh and flavorful pizzas in a charming setting. In addition to the delectable pizzas, patrons can enjoy personal sangria, wine, or beer from Colombia's renowned brewery BBC.
I read the reviews. I paid particular attention to the negative reviews. There are other options for pizza in SG. But I went to Penelop's first. After my meal I decided I don't need to go anywhere else. This was a great thin crust pizza. The cheese and seasoning on my margarita pizza was perfect. I ate everything but the crumbs.

Such a nice place! The restaurant is really pretty, an the inner courtyard offers a great change from the hustle of the city and is very lovingly decorated. The service and the owner are also super friendly and very helpful (also with tips for san Gil or similar). I can only recommend it to anyone!

Guests can unwind by the outdoor pool or connect with fellow adventurers in the communal living room. Beautiful and comfortable place to stay. The location is very central, there's local stores and pharmacies about 5 minutes walking. Everyone is very nice at the Traveler Hostel, very friendly people that make you feel like home. The hostel is also located about 8 minutes walking from "El terminalito" where you can grab a bus to Barichara or Panachi where "El Cañón del Chicamocha" is located. The amenities of the hostel are perfect, with beautiful cozy areas to rest, hammocks, a fire place, ping pong table among with other games and a small bar in case you want a few drinks. Overall, great experience in this place, I would highly recommend it!!!

We checked in at 3am middle of the night and they even welcomed us at that time! the hostel itself is very cozy with a shared kitchen very much home vibes! There are multiple areas to chill which is great. The breakfast is very nice as well! Also they have a catalogue with activities and can help you book anything. The location is perfect! We highly recommend this place ! ❤️

Loved staying at Traveler Hostel. The rooms and the bathrooms were very tidy. The women working at the hostel were very friendly. Every time i had questions they helped me right away. They planned with me the rafting, which i absolutely loved. Even made recommendations what to do in and around San Gil! The kitchen is well equipped, good to prepare you own food, if you feel up to it. The only thing missing in my room was a mirror and a garbage can. But everything else was very good. I would definitely recommend Traveler Hostel!

I stayed here twice! I love this little town San Gil. This place has a lovely shared kitchen a cozy pool, friendly staff. This is not a party hostel, but still has those amazing social vibes that make a hostel so good! I felt really comfortable and safe here on multiple visits. Extremely well run, probably the best hostel I ever stayed in!

The best place we have stayed in 10 weeks in Latin America. If we could give more stars we would. The staff make this place - my partner was injured and in the hospital and they couldn’t be more helpful, even coming to check in on him and help us in the hospital. The communication is outstanding, the location is great, the cabanas were beautiful and so tranquil.

If I could give this place 100 stars, I would have done that. I loved spending time here. Ended up booking more nights as well. The place itself is so relaxing with the hammocks, the places to chill. It is such a beautiful hostel for the price. The location is also great. But the staff made it even more amazing. The staff is so helpful. They give you tips and advices about literally everything. From trips to places to getting my nails done. Everyone is interested in your day and about your plans. I really felt at home. It was quite off season when I was staying, but I didn't feel lonely at all. I would 1000% recommend this place. Had a marshmallow night and watched Argentina-Colombia with people. It was great.

Very great hostel, staff is kindly and helpful (to book activities, informations about the bus or the region or whatever) The location is good in the middle of the city The activities are awesome rafting, cave exploring, cannyoning and the hostel will organize them, to pick you up at the hostel and bring you The price are really affordable and worth it Special thanks to the Angie who bright our day with her smile and positive energy! I definitely recommend this place if you go in that region

Perfect place, especially the hammocks and the pool, where you can relax in the shade or sun after a day of activities. Lovely staff who helped us both with booking activities and also other stuff such as buying data for our mobile phone plan (which the Claro store for some reason failed to). Breakfast was phenomenal, with 5 delicious set options that you can choose from the night before. We booked a double room with a balcony, but it was just a French balcony that overlooked the small courtyard and the dining area, not any outdoor view. Two blocks from the town square, which is very practical.

Balcón Sangileňo is a second-floor restaurant located next to Sams VIP, offering a wide variety of regional dishes and drinks. The menu features 28 different options, including seasonal and weekly specials. Guests have praised the delicious Cabrito Santandereano, a must-try despite initial reservations about goat meat. The restaurant's location provides a stunning view of the park from its balcony seating area.
So I have eaten here many many times over the past 15 years of visiting San Gil and this visit had both a breakfast and a dinner, both were good, great service, good portions, reasonable prices, good coffee and juice drinks and if you are able to get a table on the balcony you can look over the main park. Highly recommend!
Donald E — Google review
Had some orders mixed up, and in general the food wasn't very good. Felt like a tourist trap. Just go to one of the other places. The meat was quite okay, the yam was quite good, the rice, the vegetables and tortillas were stale and tasted old. The tropical chicken is with strawberry jam? Very strange choice...
Max — Google review
We asked our hostel where to go for dinner, they sent us here. Sat on a balcony over looking the park. Great service, friendly, and we had a GREAT meal. My wife says I eat enough for two people and I couldn’t finish my meal. I had the traditional goat meal and my wife had a chicken salad, which was a big salad and it came with fries.
David H — Google review
I was asking for a good place to have fish for lunch. The hostel recommended El Balcón. I didn't expect a place that had such a great location to have good food. I thought that people would go just for the location, and not for the food. I was so surprised! The soup was excellent, and the fish was perfect!! A generous size mojarra cooked perfectly! I had a seat on the balcony overlooking the park. Great service. And it was only 20,000. I was so happy! I went back the next day for dinner, but didn't stay, because after 4pm the price doubled!!! Si, I went back the following day for lunch. It was so disappointing! The fish was a overcooked, greasy, and it was so salty I could hardly eat it! I don't know if three different chefs all put salt on it, or if someone dropped the salt container on my fish. It was terrible. So, I had one really excellent meal there, and one terrible meal there.

little pricy for Colombia but very taste food !

Not only did the food they served taste pretty badly (like chicken tropical with ice cream strawberry sauce, or cold fries), but some of it was probably spoiled. The rice tasted off, and the cut onions were easily a few days old. Go somewhere else if you are looking for traditional food just go somewhere else.

Parapente Chicamocha offers a serene and thrilling experience, allowing you to soar 6000 feet above the breathtaking Chicamocha Canyon. The professional staff provides thorough safety procedures and high-quality equipment for a relaxing and safe adventure. You can also request adrenaline-inducing spins and tricks during your flight. The package includes bus transport to the takeoff point, where skilled pilots will guide you through an unforgettable paragliding experience.
An unforgettable Parapente experience! The entire team made it incredibly safe, fun, and transparent. Huge thanks to Silvia, Fredy, and everyone involved in making this such a fantastic adventure! Highly recommended 🪂!!

One of the most exciting experiences of my life. Beautiful flying above the hawks with a view for miles and miles. I felt completely safe throughout the prep and the flight itself. If I am ever at Chicamocha again I will probably do it again. Highly recommend!

We really loved our experience with Parapente Chicamocha. Although it took a while before take-off die to weather conditions, the flight was awesome and the team is very professional. Also the GoPro option delivers quality footage. Would 100% recommend. Maybe 1 point of improvement: they don't really speak English.
Flor S — Google review
A well organized and extremely enjoyable activity. Well worth the money! Top marks to Freddy our overall organiser, and Sergio and Alejandro the paragliding guides. Great clear instructions and made the experience really fun. Parapente organized transport from our air bnb, arrived exactly when they said, and drove to the site. Gave a very clear briefing, and told us roughly the order we would be going in, how many people etc. everything was just really well organized. They provided water refills for us and coffee as well without plastic cups which we really appreciated for the environmental impact. Toilets at the site were compost toilets but clearly very well maintained and clean which can be tough for those types. Equipment was all in really good condition. Instructors we're really great and adapted the journey based on the customer. They were all also really knowledgeable about the history, culture and wildlife of the area so you get a good tour as well as the experience! We took the "adrenaline" option so you do some tricks in the air. My partner was a little scared so she asked to switch to the calmer option mid flight and they were happy to agree. I loved the tricks and added some good excitement to the experience. I recommend bringing sunscreen to top up during the day as you will be waiting for a while but it won't be boring, the views from the waiting area are amazing. Buying tickets in advance or just walk around the town square to find the office, either way works but this is off season, so in peak tourism maybe book in advance.. We booked go pros and everything in advance, but when we got to the waiting site they actually still offered for people to upgrade or downgrade and get refunds. It's super flexible

Just a fantastic experience. Booked through trip advisor the day before, communication excellent despite our poor Spanish. Picked up from the hotel, very professional pilots, obviously experienced. Just never felt unsafe at all, we made the kids go first just to make sure it was ok 🤣. Just a fantastic set up. Thank you, highly recommend

Hi, we booked a duo paragliding in the morning with a group of 10 (5 adults, 5 teenagers) from Belgium and had the time of our life. Our kids could go first so we could see them hanging above the canyon (scary and exiting at the same time). We were promised a minimum flight of 20 minutes but we almost all got 30+ minutes. The team was professional from beginning to end. We explicitly appreciated the briefing in good English by Sergio, but all the pilots earned our trust. Top experience. Highly recommended.

Cascadas de Juan Curi Ecological Park offers a range of outdoor activities amidst the tranquil beauty of nature. Visitors can indulge in woodland hikes, horseback rides and rappelling at a towering cascade that ends in a natural swimming hole. The highlight of the park is the thrilling Torrentismo activity at Juan Curi Waterfall, which involves an intense 200-foot rappel down a screaming waterfall. For those who prefer less adventurous pursuits, there are scenic hikes that end at beautiful waterfalls.
Undoubtedly one of the highlights of our trip. The waterfalls are simply breathtaking and we had the added bonus of visiting on a weekday when there were only a few tourists. There's an entrance fee to get into the park (around $12,000) and a short hike of about 30 minutes to get to the highest waterfall. I would class the hike as mild to moderate with a few steepish steps and some slippery areas. I especially liked that there was a circular route back (for a large part) to make the return hike a little more interesting. Good footwear and mosquito repellent is highly advised.
Jayesh P — Google review
Very beautiful! We took the path up at the mainland entrance but we walked down from the other side of the waterfall which I'd very much recommended. You walk trough water and mud but the waterfall has so many levels and you can go for swims everywhere, it's a lush green jungle path!

What an incredible experience! We visited today as a group of 7 and all chose our own adventures. I did the zip lining and rappel down the waterfall. Even though these might seem like risky activities, the professional staff made it feel safe and straightforward. I’m so glad we came here, we now have wonderful memories and photos to share. Big thanks to Wilson, our brave and brilliant guide, who led us through the park and made this an unforgettable day.

A great place to check out if you’re in the San Gil area. Only a 30 minute drive from San Gil, and about a 20-30 minute climb to the waterfall. Not super challenging but it will get the heart rate up. Great to swim and hangout at the waterfall. Very peaceful and enjoyable!
