Really good drinks and food, suuuper big quantities for the price it costs! A bit slower cooking one of the dishes but they compensated with a free beer🤗 thanks a lot, will definitely come back.

Great restaurant any time of day..huge variety in the menu. Fair price for the amount of food you get. My boyfriend got nachos for one and it was a huge portions. I ordered a sandwich and chips and could to finish it, which is never a bad complaint. You can ask them to tailor the portions, which we found out after.

What an experience! Tasty and HUGE portions. Great coffee. Friendly staff. They even gave us an extra portion of fries when we couldn't even finish our exceptional meals. Would recommend, might seem pricey but the food is good and plentiful.

After spending a week eating at this restaurant nearly every day, we were blown away by the delicious food and generous portions. Before our hiking trips, we grabbed lunch packs from here, which were absolutely perfect for our activities. Almost everything served is homemade, and you can really tell there's a lot of love put into the details. Highly recommend!

Hands down one of the best brunch spots I’ve ever been to! The food was absolutely incredible – every dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully put together. The staff couldn’t have been friendlier; so welcoming, attentive, and genuinely accommodating, which made the whole experience even better. You can really tell they care about their customers. The vibe is relaxed but lively, making it the perfect place to start your day. I’ll definitely be coming back, and I’d 100% recommend it to anyone looking for a top-notch brunch.

Great place to go for breakfast before your hike in the Valle de Cocora. We arrived a little after they opened at 6am and there were several hiking groups of foreigners getting breakfast in preparation. The business knows their audence well and the menu had American style breakfasts with a twist of adding energy for the hike, like peanut butter on the pancakes. The food was good and the restaurant looks like a friendly community-oriented hostel, keeping with the young hiking vibe. Everything was reasonably priced and the waiter was speaking very good English with the other tables. The restaurant offers pack lunches to take with you to eat during the hike (or if you have a long bus ride ahead of you) and we ordered a couple. They came with a sandwich, granola, banana, among other foods, and was tasty and super convienent for the trek. They also put in an inspiring message keeping with the vibe. I fully recommend Brunch or Salento as a one-stop restaurant for breakfast and lunch if you are doing the Valle de Cocora hike.

Excellent food and incredibly friendly and hospitable staff, who will take the time to give you an overview of the different activities and hiking routes around Salento (they have maps painted on their walls and use a laser pointer to talk you through it!). If you’re planning on doing day hikes they also sell lunch packs for 20K to save you the hassle of packing your own lunch!

This is a great spot if you want to drink some great specialty coffee. We visited here since it serves one of the best coffees in Salento and we were not disappointed. It tasted very good and the staff was very friendly. We also had a sandwich but this was clearly not their specialty and a bit disappointing. The prices are normal for this area. Certainly worth a visit if you come for the coffee!

If you’re visiting Salento, you can’t miss Jesús Martín Café. It’s a cozy and charming place, perfect for enjoying a cup of high-quality Colombian coffee with delicious desserts. Gorgeous place with posters and murals that pique one's interest in coffee and art. The front part looks narrow but the inside courtyard is spacious. The filter coffee brewed from local beans was bright and delightful.

This place is an absolute gem for breakfast lovers! The presentation alone is worth a visit – beautifully arranged plates with fresh fruit, crunchy granola, creamy yogurt, fluffy waffles, and delicious coffee with perfect latte art. The portions are generous, and every element tastes as good as it looks.

I came there for remote work for one day. Internet speed 6MB/s, I was able to have videocalls though internet is slow but works. The service is lovely and kind, thehy allowed me to wok 5h continously without nagging me to force to order more drinks/food. Very delivious baked empanada argentina with meat.

One of the best coffee places in Colombia. My favourite spot to have a fresh brewed fruity coffee, like in a ceremony. They have several awards for their coffee. Worth the price. I love this place.

The food here was amazing. Sad we only discovered it on our last night. Such a nice way to experience Latin American cuisine. Staff were amazing as well. We had such a lovely waitress who gave us recommendations and tips on what to get and they all delivered hugely. I nearly had to be rolled out I ate so much… Give it a go

Food was really good. I got the tradicional beef plate, full of flavor! Beef was a bit chewy, still delicious though. My partner got the vegetarian fusion plate and that was also delicious. We split the soup and each got a jugo fresco. We will definitely visit again in the future when we come back to Salento!

Wow-what a cozy find off of Carrera 6! While Salento has been pretty quiet, the inside garden tables were a tranquil experience. The Baba Ganoush was delicious and the drinks were great too (Deloris Cafe & GT with cucumber & rosemary). We tried the chocolate pepper cake and were impressed by the flavors. The owner was friendly and helpful.

We had a very good lunch. If you sit outside you can see the beautiful landscape. Yet, the place is a bit more expensive but the food is worth it. The salmon was great and we also had the mushrooms. The coco lemonade was one of the best and their coffee was of premium quality as well as home made ice cream,

I saw a few recommendations for this spot online but unfortunately did not have a good experience. I ordered the garlic lemon trucha and found it quite bland and filled with so many bones it was difficult to eat. The food also took about 45min to come out and there weren’t very many people in the restaurant.

This is a nice restaurant just off the main square in Salento. Very interesting decor! The food and service was good, and portions were quite large. We wanted something local for our last dinner in Salento and this place did not disappoint! Would definitely recommend if you happen to be in the area.

It’s fair to say that we’re all disappointed afterwards. Although we understood that the place was packed in the end of the night and also with so many tables walking in in the same time, there’s no excuses for the food to be delivered with no quality standards as well as for the many dishes we’re not served. There was not a single dish that was spotted as good. Also, they are so limited on drinks availability. For instance, if you like cocktails don’t even bother to come here. The wine list is ridiculous to the least acceptable standard. Overall, it’s a big no coming back.

I ordered a BBQ rib and got a chewy piece of pork being far from what was presented in the menu. I ate the cold patato that came with the meal and a little bit of the meat but that's it. I'm not sure how could this restaurant could be rated 4.5 stars. Other plates were ok at best and the service none existing.

This is one of the best traditional restaurants in Salento. Only the de orations on the inside make it worth a visit. The whole restaurant is filled with all kinds of decorations and colours. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. The food arrived very quickly. It was delicious, we tried the local specialties and we were not disappointed. Everything tasted fresh and eating here was a great experience. If you want to try some local food in Salento this is the spot!

Everything was good the steak was at its point. They're were different plates of trout and you should try the mazamorra and the warm fruit drink.

We had a lovely traditional meal called Bandeja Paisa and it was delicious. Atmosphere is great! A must not miss on your trip to Salento.

I was really looking forward to eating here all week. Sadly I left disappointed. I wonder if the presentation is better than the food itself. All the pictures looked so good! Also, the online menu and the one in the restaurant were different so just wait until you are there to see what is current. Unfortunately my dish did not taste flavorful or fresh (shrimp, squid and spicy rice). I only ate half before leaving. I paid less for so many other amazing dishes in Salento. Also, my server hardly noticed me at all and never checked on me. Maybe I would’ve asked for a different entree if she had. She also brought my drink in the middle of the meal which was a bummer too. Service is slow (one bartender for the whole restaurant). However my drink was good! I recommend going for a few drinks and ambience because the place is very cute. Bring a sweater because the whole place is open-air.

This is definitely the top fine dining restaurant in Salento. Food is absolutely delicious, fresh, and high quality. If you are looking for the best contemporary Colombian food in Salento, Quindu is amazing. Service is great and food came out quick. Our waitress/bartender was super nice and was very friendly and spoke a little English :)

You have to come to this place if you’re in Salento. This is such great restaurant that we still remember how delicious the food was even through we visited this place 2 years ago. One of my favorite dishes in Colombia was from here. It was a great pasta dish but I also enjoyed the other food and drinks. The service was great and also we had a beautiful view. I was surprised how big this place was. Definitely a great place to stop.

We randomly stopped in for cocktails one afternoon. What a pleasant surprise to stumble onto this place. The restaurant itself is very pretty. The view from the bar is wonderful. The best though was our cocktails! We had the El Ancestral and The Cocora, two of the specialty offerings. They were excellent! Highly recommend stopping in for drinks!

A new and great restaurant in Salento. Probably one of the fancier restaurants in town - you’ll find more similar restaurants in Poblado, Medellin - but with great food and service too. Our waiter, Esteban, went out of his way to make our evening even better. A unexpected but nice surprise to find a restaurant like this in Salento.

I found this place just walking & looking for another restaurant that was closed. Service was fast and they have really good hamburgers. The plates are empty because it was that good. Combos were well worth the 35-40,000 pesos

We stopped in here because of the positive reviews and we were not disappointed. They have a good range on the menu and I was glad to see multiple vegetarian options. The burgers were good, the blue cheese sauce was really strong. They have a good range of bottled beers and they make their own kombucha. The price was pretty good, especially for a very touristy area.

My friends and I came here for their happy hour, thinking we would be here for about 1 hour. We had such a good time that we ended up spending the whole night here. The drinks were amazing. Andres Felipe and Tarmalys really took care of us in every respect. It felt like we had known them for a long time. We loved the atmosphere and would definitely recommend everyone to stop here. Great burger place. We took the combo option to get a burger, french fries and drink for around 32/34000 pesos on average. The sauce inside is tasty and it changes from the usual ketchup or bbq. Here is a pic from the Americana.

Best burger I’ve ever had in my life, I still dream about it. My husbands is photographed below. I got the blue cheese burger (in the back of the photo) and it was so cheesy and delicious I wish I could go back. 🤤🤤🤤 we did not do the combos since the burgers were quite large and we were still stuffed.

We had lunch twice at this spot in Salento at we really loved it. It is a small restaurant at the edge of the town. They serve mostly healthy western food and vegan options. They have seating both inside and outside. The staff is very friendly, you place your orders at the counter. The food and drinks they serve are very good. Everything tastes fresh and the portions are good. The prices are also very reasonable. We can certainly recommend this place if you are craving some healthy food!

I was so happy to find a healthy food spot for lunch. It was super empty what made us wondering. The menu is amazing and if you read about the story it makes also sense why they offer Asian food. The pad Thai and Buddha bowl were just amazing and exactly what we were looking for - fresh, healthy and delicious food. Full recommendation

We were in the mood for some vegetarian food and we though of this restaurant. This was our first time here and the food was so delicious and good Asian fusion let alone vegan/vegetarian is not so easy to find - so we were very pleased! We also tried the mango sticky rice and it was very good! Their service was excellent as well. Highly recommend it and we will definitely be coming back!!

No trip to Salento would be complete without dining at Camino Real. This was our third visit over the past 4 years. Everything that my family has ordered is always cooked to perfection and top quality ingredients. The views are spectacular, the drinks are amazing and the service is great. I always have The Grilled Baby Beef that is arguably the best piece of Beef in Colombia. Shrimp Cocktails, Pasta Dishes, Patacones are all World Class. I highly recommend this restaurant. It is my favorite restaurant in Salento.

This is genuinely one of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to. The food was incredible, the service is amazing and the food comes out so quick. We ate here twice during our stay and ordered the beef and the chicken brochette, the creole potato entree, the broccoli crema del dia, coffee and the limonada natural. Everything was incredible! My favourite was the broccoli crema del dia, the limonada and coffee is also to die for. My partner had the beef brochette twice it was so good!! Genuinely heartbroken I can’t bring this place home. Thank you to the wonderful staff who very clearly care about the experience of their customers. If you’re in Salento, you must eat here!

Excellent place if you want to try a variety of good dishes and drinks. All the dishes are made with an excellent presentation and a excellent flavour of course. In this restaurant you can eat variety of meats (chicken, pork, beaf), fishes and shrimps and other types of seafood, spaghetti. Also you can drink delicious natural juices, variety of lemonades, beers and cocktails. In the night you can relax with the chimney and drink a good wine. The decoration is nice with all the plants and nature inside the restaurant, and the chairs and tables are made with an good type of wood giving the place a special touch.

Best Colombian food we’ve had in Colombia (and we’ve eaten lots of it) - as we arrived the chef’s friend was dropping off the fresh organic herbs and salad leaves for the evening’s meal prep, and it tasted delicious! So well seasoned, great sized portions and delicious creamy soups, staff so welcoming and kind. Had a lovely experience at this restaurant. We went for the menu of the day and got an amazing spread of food for a very reasonable price. Got a juice, started of soup, a main course and a small dessert for 22,000 COP. The food was so fresh and could tell it was made with a lot of love. The host was very friendly and helpful. Allowed us the try two different soups before we decided what soup we wanted to have.

Absolutely delicious and such great price! We went for the set menu and you get a juice too. The cream soup was absolutely banging!!! But so was the normal soup. We went for pork and the trout and again sooooooo good! And the tiny dessert was even lovely too! The food was also quick to come out. 100000% recommend!

It's incredible that there still is just an authentically local place in such a touristy area. 18k COP for a whole meal, with soup as appetizer, a whole bunch of things in the main dish (including meat of your choice, or the vegetarian option), and a beverage. Suepr tasty food, and the place is packed with locals so you know it's definitely fair-priced.

El Rincon De Luci A simple restaurant with the goal of giving you a home cooked Colombian meal for a reasonable price. Started off with a warm welcome and a free jug of a drink that is similar to ice tea! You order your plate and it comes with a soup to start seemed to be corn/potato/chicken base. It was a chillier day so it was perfect! I ordered the trout dish as I was told it’s the local main dish. It also came with mash potatoes, it also comes with slaw, arepa, rice, and dessert. Warm comfort food served by good people for a reasonable price! Highly would recommend and I will be back.

A cozy place with very friendly staff. The atmosphere gives it like youre eating a home cooked meal. The only option is the daily menu which gives it a less mass produced feeling. Also very affordable and great portions! Would recommend!

I had been enjoying Salento a lot, especially its lively salsa atmosphere. Mojiteria was one of the best places to go out—I even went there three days in a row. However, on the last day, the experience was ruined by the waitstaff. As we were about to leave, they insisted I pay for beers they claimed I hadn’t paid for, even though I had already settled everything upfront. To avoid causing a scene, I paid again, but it was a frustrating and unpleasant experience, especially in front of the girl I was with.

The bar is extremely ruthless!! Very loud music even when there are no guests in the middle of the night. This destroys the whole atmosphere of the lovely area. They don't care about others...

We got two take-away pizzas, ready within 15 minutes and actually delicious! Considering most Italian food in Colombia so far has been a let-down, this was a great change of pace!

Came here a few times during our trip and were very happy. The chai latte with milk and hot chocolate were delicious. Tried a few pastas all of which tasted really good. Got a pizza one night as well. The staff is nice. The service takes a decent amount of time but the food is worth it.

I had a really delicious blueberry juice here, we also had Caesar salad which was good and sooo big! The lasagna let me down abit it could of been tastier and had more pasta, lots of meat and cheese and the flavour just didn’t give, the Bruschetta was okay but again the ingredients were just average the restaurant was so busy and so the service was very slow however the staff were all friendly and we could see they were so busy so it was no bother! We paid for free by credit card and they added 10% service charge but asked if that was okay so it’s optional. The restaurant itself was very big with lots of seating and wifi for guests. The pizzas we saw coming out were so big! Overall for us, the food was pretty average so we would chose somewhere else for dinner next time.

Tomato soup was lovely albeit a tiny bit salty For colombia the pizza was decent but needed more salsa. Medium was massive we just about finished half. Very fresh though. Service and ambience really nice and theres a wonderful coffee shop inside the same building that does cafe azteca which is a nice treat!

Then I recommend the traditional Italian tomato cream soup with mini mozzarella and two slices of roasted garlic butter ciabatta bread. Vegan option: remove mozzarella and cream in soup. Makao was the most delicious meal we had in Salento. The attention to detail in the dishes was incredible. The capresa was extremely fresh tasting and the lasagna to die for. My dad had the trout and it was perfectly cooked and nice and light. Excellent service and even their own custom water bottles! We will be back.

Really nice and cozy restaurant. The couple were very kind and friendly. Their English was also very good. I tried the vegetarian lasagna, which was very tasty. Had a pana cota and natural juice. Highly recommended.

We really like our night in Makao, the atmosphere is lovely and the seat very comfy. The service was excellent, the waiter was speaking English and took care of us during the bight. We enjoy the Spanish board, the chorizo was delicious ! The garlics bread and cheese as well. We were not désappointes of the wine as it was also good with a perfect temperature. It was definitely not cheap, but sometimes you have to treat yourself with some gourmet. We also had the chicken curry, we asked for spicy and it was extremely spicy so we advise you to think twice before you ask spicy 😅

Outstanding food, atmosphere and location... We were there early in the dinner time and found this to be a great experience. The staff was fantastic, my wife had trout and I had a vegetarian lasagna and both were absolutely tasty and great presentations. While there "friends" of the owner and staff came with their new baby and you could tell these were people who cared about everyone. Really genuine. It is located just one block up Carrera 6 toward the Mirador and and down a few steps to the east. Just a great feel and a great spot for excellent food and service and prices.

Food was fine, but overpriced. Chicken was extremely tough. Garlic bread tasted like it wasn't even sitting next to the garlic in the fridge - more like barely buttered bread that had been waved over the toaster. All of this I could have written off as a Colombian chef not used to cooking curry/garlic bread. The reason I'm leaving a review is that when I went up to pay I received a bill for the food + a voluntary tip. I told the server (who I overheard speaking English with many patrons) that I didn't want to pay the VOLUNTARY tip, only the cost of the food. He pretended not to speak English (and I only have a little Spanish) but seeing as I pointed at the 'voluntary tip' part of the receipt I figured he understood. It was only when I counted the change outside that I realised that he'd paid himself the tip anyway. Felt scummy and underhanded. Other restaurants in town have always asked if I wanted to pay it (and I generally do pay it - but for overpriced, tough chicken where the wait staff didn't really do much, no thank you).

Happened past by this restaurant. A cute little place with good music. The menu looks interesting so decided to give it a try. We both ordered chicken curry. It was so delicious. Definitely will come back to try other dishes when we come back.

Great Vegan Options! After a long day of hiking through the valley cocora I was so satisfied when I tucked into my Vegan Sandwich at Makao! Also the owner is amazing and the staff pay good attention. This place gets packed and rightly so, it is awesome

Fantastic food- I had the beef burger with chips. The chips are some of the nicest chips we've had in South america (in 5 months). The burger was really juicy and had a great taste. The place is also so pretty with a lovely atmosphere Most importantly, I forgot my bag there but only realised at around 9.40pm, and the restaurant shuts at 8pm. I found their number on goggle and called, the man picked up immediately, I explained what had happened and that I had a night but at 10.15pm. He said they had the bag and he'd meet my boyfriend there. He came to meet my boyfriend straight away and by 10 past 10 my boyfriend was back at the bus station with my bag. I cannot explain how grateful I am for this, the best service anyone could hope or dream of!

The quality of the meat of the burger is catastrophic. Luckily, the restaurant makes great Fajitas. in summary, take the fajitas and avoid the burger

I just want to say that this is the best menu of the day I’ve had in Colombia. The ingredients felt like they were of really good quality and the vegetable soup I had before the main dish was absolutely amazing. The main dish has some very generous portions as well and the juice they give you on the side is also good. A big plus was also the fact that they were the only place in town still offering a menu of the day after 4 pm and it was definitely worth it for the price paid.

6,5/7 Nice Spanish restaurant in Salento. The Spanish omelette was good - I like the fact that they let you choose the “punto” at which you want your Omelette. However, the salad that comes with it had a weird taste that I didn’t like. It would be much better if they use olive oil for the seasoning. Taste of the omelette was ok but was missing a little bit of salt. Croquetas were good but something was missing in taste - texture was better than expected. Overall, it was a good experience, but some little details will improve a lot the food.

Very cozy Spanish restaurant, run by a couple that actually are from Spain. The menu is simple, but each option is unique and very tasteful! We tried several options and were pleasantly surprised of the quality. The staff is amazingly friendly, making you feel completely at home. Pricing is very fair, for both the food and the drinks. Definitely recommended!

This place was amazing! The service was excellent, the staff were attentive and friendly while also being efficient. We even got a complimentary tapa of potatoes with a red pepper sauce while we waited for what we ordered (which was not a long wait). Such amazing value for money and in a lovely location too. Small restaurant with limited seating, but atmosphere is awesome, food was very tasty though portions were a bit small, service was excellent. We had super tasty tapas. The aubergine, mushroom croquettas, spanish tortilla and jamon iberico were fantastic. It paired great with a light aguila and tinto verano. Would 100% recommend. Also the owner was so kind in his service.

Unfortunately this place was disappointing... The pizza was good no problem, but the meat unfortunately was too cooked and therefore tasteless. I am more used to Argentinian meat and the level here was unfortunately very bad... They made a mistake with the drink, bringing the wrong one... And in the end they charged for "optional service" when the service was definitely not good...

Great place to go for a quick meal. We ordered pizza and mozzarella sticks. Mozzarella sticks were good, pizza was fine. I would eat it again, but wasn’t my favorite pizza. The cook and owner are incredibly friendly and would wave every time we walked by.

Has a bunch of vegetarian options. We tried caprese salad, lasagna spinach ravioli, tomato soup and garlic bread here. Everything was good. People here are nice and welcoming too. Would recommend this place in Salento for good vegetarian food.

The pasta is totally different from what I used to eat in Italy, but the tomato soup was good. However, they served the pasta before the soup, and I had to finish the pasta otherwise it would cool and wouldn’t be eatable anymore.

Arrived here & asked for a table, the lady ignored us as we stood there waiting. With an half empty restaurant she took off and started clearing a table without saying anything. Then when I asked her so are you gonna serve us, she was extremely rude. We gave her the benefit of the doubt and took a seat. We ordered the food and what we got was so rank. Take a look at the photo, this was super lame meat dish my brother ordered. Thankfully I ordered a hamburger from next door which was good. My wife ordered the Cordon Bleu which was such a fail. She couldn't even eat it. The chicken was boiled and wasn't crumbed, served with warm cream milk with oregano (tasteless). We have traveled all around the world and never been so disappointed at a dish. I would highly suggest steering away fro this place and try somewhere on Salento which accept you with nice service and good food.

This is located right at the centre near the Plaza de Bolivar. I went here three times. The first time I accidentally ordered trout with cheese, the other time a vegetarian burger and fries, and the last time - garlic trout. Reasonable prices for being in such a prime location. GARLIC TROUT WITH CHEESE- 4/5 I ordered the Garlic Trout. It comes in a griddle and it’s super hot! But I misunderstood the waitress as I don’t speak Spanish and accidentally said yes to adding cheese. WHOOPS. Well, this was SMOTHERED in cheese. Normally I absolutely love cheese, but I don’t like it with fish. So I didn’t end up finishing my meal, but that was because of my misunderstanding rather than any issue with taste. It’s a whole fish - head and all. It tastes great. But I have now learned that trout has small bones, so just keep that in mind and be alert when eating. And also, I’d forgo the cheese next time. It also comes with a plantain crisp chip which is massive. And it also comes with rice and salsa. It is a massive portion - I would share this to be honest as it was too much for me alone. VEGETARIAN BURGER - 3/5 The vegetarian burger is MASSIVE. It’s a generous portion. The bread and cheese was great. But I found that the lentil patty was just okay. And the caramelized mushrooms seemed like canned mushrooms, and I’m not a huge fan. But the fries are good. And the coke is also great - in the glass bottles, which I find just tastes better. Best fries I had so far and would go back just for those. The service was also great when I went for my burger. Very kind waiter. Seemed to know vegan / vegetarian differences and flagged for me that the burger bun has milk in it. He also realized I didn’t speak Spanish and put on an English Channel for their TV, which he absolutely didn’t have to do, but it was kind of him. GARLIC TROUT 3/5 The reason I didn’t like this much was because it was fried and very oily and heavy. I thought it would be grilled - my bad. But if you like fried foods, you might be fine.

In search of some good, simple Colombian fare? This is it! I selected the plantain stuffed (madurito) with shredded beef, corn, cheese and bacon. This was a new one for me and I thought it was great! I had a coconut lemonade which was good, very coconuty. I was in search of tasty local food and this place was filled with Colombians which suggested it was good. I was right! I shared my table with a fun, friendly Colombian family and we had a great time. We laughed, shared stories and became friends. This made the restaurant even better!

Wasn't great meat was dry. The atmosphere was nice enough the place clean. It was a bit of a warning sign when I saw a lot of plates go back to the kitchen quite full. The staff cooking also seemed not so interested but difficult to tell if this was the case. Found wasn't to expensive but not great it's a bit of tourist trap you can find better street vendors in my opinion.

First stop when I arrived in salento and it did not disappoint. I ordered the trout with garlic and it came on a crispy chip. My boyfriend ordered the Jalapeño burger and we both loved our meals. I went back a second time.

They offer a little salad as courtesy of the house. I ordered a rice bowl that comes with a soup - however the soup includes meat so I could not eat it, they should have a veggie soup to offer with the veggie dishes as the only solution they gave me was to remove the soup but price would not change so I would be paying same for the dish but for a reduced portion. I had a rice bowl with veggies in tempura, it was tasty and crunchy. My boyfriend had the soup that was supposed to come with my dish and said it was Ok but nothing too special. He also had fried rice with veggies and pork, good quality/quantity for money. Overall the experience was good and i would recommend if you are craving some asian food while in Salento. However, I would recommend the owners to improve the options for veg people.

This is Asian inspired fusion. I recommend steamed mushrooms 🍄‍🟫. If you’re looking for warm soupy feeling in your tummy that’s the right place. I think the team does their best to deliver on a promise of Asian cuisine, but it is challenging in Colombian Andes. Best luck to the team, but for patrons don’t keep your expectations too high.

My for ever favorite restaurant in salento. We went multiple times. Let me explain: First the check is the sweetest and so talent Greta authentic Asian food. The local is very small with 4 tables so make sure you reserved or go early. The service is great, there is a couple working so you will see either the Argentina guy or the Colombian girls working very attentive. Then the food, of course súper important. The best ever entrance were the gyozas and the spring roles which is very nice to share. The tempura prawn is the best of all tempura pieces. The pasta noddles are a must and don’t forget to order one of the rices plates. The hace a great different lunch menu and for 15k COP!!

Amazing place with amazing food. The restaurant itself is really small, but we managed to get a table quickly. The prices of the food are very reasonable given the quality. All of the staff were very friendly too.

The chefs are from Japan and are really friendly beside that, the food tasted original. We enjoyed the food a lot and came here twice in our four days stay in Salento. The quality/price ratio is perfect. They speak perfect English as well.

After a visit I'm struggling with where the 4.9 star rating came from. I ordered the bread bowl with mushrooms and stopped eating after 2 bites. The mushrooms were not cut or prepared well and it was lacking flavor. I was expecting something more for that price. The garbanzo bean burger was very crumbly and messy to eat. The flavor was okay. They did well with the fries though. The lemonade natural was very sour and adding sugar after the fact did not help at all.

Great food. Had the day’s menu and a lentil burger and both were great. Delicious and good prices. They use a bell pepper sauce that is to die for.

The biggest problem with this place was that I wanted to order way too many things off the menu. Ended up getting 2 dishes, combined costing me a very reasonable 27k. The eggplant sandwich was my favorite, and the mushroom crepes were good too. 5 star reviews don’t lie - come here if in Salento!

I can’t begin to tell you how gorgeous this burger was. The chef knows his stuff, spoke to me at length about mixing food types to get optimum proteins and vitamins. A genius. The place itself is super cool, board games, cards, friendly staff everything for a super chill experience. Vegans take your omnis… they’ll add a bit of chicken to any dish if it comes down to it.

It was a bad experience. Food was decent, I wish I could enjoy it without bad feelings left by a server. We have been served by a lady , who seemed to be a relative of the owner or something, she didn’t even wear an apron as other servers. Our table wasn’t cleaned from previous guests. She didn’t greet us or anything, the first thing she told us “diga me”. When we started asking questions about difference between dishes she started yelling at us as she was mad that we don’t already know what they were serving… At the menu that stated that all dishes goes with soup and salad, but they didn’t bring me a salad. When we asked for it, they told that abuela is too busy with other orders to make me a salad.. I am sorry, but that is a part of my order?? Other workers here seemed nice, but our impression was spoiled by that lady.

This is legitimately good authentic Colombian food. There are a lot of options, but the quality and taste of the food at this restaurant is better than many other places I've tried in the area. The ribs and fried chicken were delicious. And we especially loved the chicken soup. I also tried the chorizo and plantains, those were made well. Unlike most restaurants, their plantains were not overcooked and dry, they were sweet and soft. I'll definitely come back here again!

We had lunch here after a hike up the mountainside. We were all a bit disappointed by the food. We had heard that the area was famous for their fish, but it was honestly nothing special. As for drinks, their lemonade de coco was just bad. We didn’t even drink the two we ordered. The service was friendly enough, though they seemed rather absent. Overall, I’d try another place next time I go.

Food was bad. This is the first time that I couldn’t finish what was ordered. Best thing was chorizo, the Trucha was nothing special, and the steak was overcooked and tasted bad (seems like it was of a poor quality). We would have left attributing this to a tourist experience but what was disappointing was the feeling that there was something dishonest happening. We were asked to pay cash for a menu item that was left off our bill. Not sure if this is a common occurrence in Valle Cocoro, but I’ve never had to pay cash for a menu item when the other items were paid by card.

This is a MUST!! The food was absolutely outstanding, the steak was all fresh and served in a platter that kept the food hot. The service received from our server, Daniela Duque, was absolutely outstanding. She suggested an amazing passion fruit dessert and was always attentive to our needs. This is the second time we come and will continue to come.

We ordered a punta de angus black and it was the worst meat I’ve had it wasn’t cooked how I ordered maybe because it was just fat and hard the knife couldn’t cut through it, to be the most expensive item on the menu it was easily the worst I wouldn't give it to my dog, the rest of the food was alright but nothing special the service was good but wouldn’t return just for the service.

Walked in for a meal and stood in the entry waiting to be seated. 3 employees walked by and didn't even acknowledge me. So I left. If that's the start of the experience, it's unlikely to get better.

I absolutely loved my stay at this hotel. From the moment we arrived, everything felt warm and genuine check-in was smooth, and the staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The room was spotless, well-appointed, and perfectly organized: comfortable bed, thoughtful touches, and plenty of natural light that made the space feel bright and relaxing. The restaurant deserves special mention the typical dishes were outstanding, authentic, and beautifully presented. The breakfast was fresh and energizing. The rooftop/viewing area provided one of the best panoramas I’ve enjoyed at a hotel ideal for morning coffee or an evening wind-down. Location is excellent, conveniently placed for exploring the area yet peaceful enough for restful nights. The team at the hotel were attentive, proactive, and genuinely friendly, quick to offer recommendations, arrange transport, and solve any small request. Housekeeping and room upkeep were consistently top notch.

The service was excellent! We were leaving the city past check out and they had no issues holding our bags. The rooms were nice. Private bathroom. Basic and perfect to be honest. Nothing luxurious but it was exactly what my partner and I needed for our stay. Breakfast was GREAT as well. 10/10

We had spotted el patio when we sat across from them the day before. The hospitality was amazing with a small snack when entering and helping out with drinks arriving before or with the food you had ordered. The burritos we ordered were heavy on the cheese but very delicious and more than enough after a long morning hike!

The hotel has a great beautiful view. The staff was always very friendly and helpful. Specially Carolina was very attentive that everything with our stay was good… And breakfast was delicious.

We didn't stay here and only popped in a few times for a drink. Fantastic views, friendly service, wish we'd tried the food here. The views are fantastic and was one of our favourite places to have a chilled drink. WiFi signal strong for those that need it.

Our room was very basic and the “window” opened up to the corridor so we could not use it. The room became very hot during the night. The room had no soundproofing at all, meaning we could hear reception staff and other guests talking very clearly. The hot water was temperamental. The WiFi did not work at all in our room. This was very unhelpful in terms of onward travel planning. The location was great and the breakfast was appreciated.

I absolutely enjoyed my stay at BetaTown in Salento. The hotel was in a great location with clean, perfectly sized rooms. The staff were all very friendly and the service was excellent, including the breakfast. They worked with us to accommodate a last minute coffee tour with an airport transfer. As a frequent traveller, I would highly recommend this hotel (and making a visit to Salento).

First of let me start off with the bad stuff… THERE IS NONE! This is a wonderful place and the people are even better. Much better than a bigger hotel. If you have any hesitation just book it. Very cozy and comfortable. Super warm and friendly. They also have a great restaurant right across the street that has incredible food at a great price. We loved our stay and will stay here again when we come back to Salento.

We are a family of 4 and loved staying here. It is so clean and quiet. Close to walk everywhere, yet far enough away that it’s quiet. The staff were so wonderful. We were given breakfast coupons for the restaurant across the street, which again was AMAZING! We went for breakfast as well as dinner. Delicious food and great accommodations. Highly suggest staying here.

Great clean hotel in a very good location. Rooms are a good size, the beds are comfortable and the hot shower was good. Rooms were cleaned everyday too. Salento is very small so everything is within walking distance - lots of restaurants and Cafés nearby. The staff here are so friendly and helpful. It's a family run hotel and the two brothers (Jhoan and Pedro) helped to make our stay very memorable! They lived in the US for a decade so their English is perfect. They assisted with airport shuttles, Cocora hiking recommendations and other tours (horseback riding and coffee). Breakfast was good but simple. The restaurant itself is great for a meal and highly recommended during your stay. The staff even do a surprisingly good packed lunch if you want to do a full day of hiking. Laundry service is very fast and cheap, we used it almost everyday. WiFi signal was excellent throughout as well.

Such a sweet charming hotel on the mountain! My family and i had a wonderful stay at the beta hotel. The front desk was very helpful with all our excursion, transport needs and questions. The breakfast included was delicious with very attentive staff. The hotel and rooms were very clean. The location was perfect for walking to city square and right next to shops for drinks and snacks or other restaurants. Thanks for a great first few nights in Colombia!

We ate here because Salento was so hectic and finding parking was impossible. Glad we did! Everyone is very friendly and the food was nice home cooked fare. Our six year old really liked the grilled chicken. And if you sit at the window you get a lovely view of the valley.

Talk about lunch with a view. The service was absolutely phenomenal. It was my husband’s bday. We mentioned it in passing, amongst ourselves. Our waiter showed up with dessert and they played Happy Bday over the loudspeakers. Who does that?! An obligatory stop between Armenia and Pereira.

We went at a slow time (Sat night) and the attention was magnificent. The waiter (Luis) recommended the salmon and ribs for the two of us. The choices were written in red. We cleaned our plates. At first, we were leery about the ribs, not everyone can do them right. But they were falling off the bone doused in their special tangerine barbecue sauce!

It's not even a 1 star (but i can't review 0 stars) , this place is your average side-road place to have breakfast or lunch, the prices are a bit high (i would say medium-high), the menu for breakfast is a bit short (4 types of calentado and 1 type of caldo). The experience was quite undesirable, we ask for a couple of calentados (which in Colombia is a kind of food with rice and beans that is already prepared and ready to serve) and a couple of coffee cups. The service to the table was good, the menus arrived within seconds of our arrival, and the coffee took some minutes, however the calentado didn't arrive after a 35 minute wait even when we were patient and ask several times for it. After the waiting we decided not to eat here, we almost got charged for the food we never got, and and THEY CHARGED FOR THE 0.6 USD COFFEE. I mean if your customer leaves the table because you were unable to deliver the food, at least dont charge for the cheapest thing in the menu they did got. Bad experience, i blame it on the kitchen and cashier, waiters were ok. Place got a view, tho

The place looks good and the staff was very helpful and nice. Could only give it one star because of the food. I had the lasagna whitch was not more the ok. It's was microwaved pre heated before service. My girlfriend had pasta with meatballs. When the dish came it's was cold in the middle and the proof of another preheated dish. We are not so picky with food but when it's cold in the middle its not acceptable. We sent to food back and the chef came out and apologiesed personaly. The food came back this time heated in the micro so much that some of the pasta pices had gotten hard so the dish became even worse. Maybe we were there on a bad they but cold food served as fresh food. No not good at all

This was the worst spaghetti I ever had. And completly overpriced for that quality. We were starving, so we ate it, really nothing similar with Italian cuisine. Only the place was nice.

Ok was recommended this place, but I've got to say it weren't amazing. We ordered drinks and food. And after 45 minutes we only had one coffee. Eventually all the drinks came after the food. None of the food was amazing, but admitally the portions were good. It is also nice just to see a completely veggy restaurant in Colombia.

MANY VEGAN OPTIONS! Pretty place, good vraiety menu, food is fresh and very tasty. Dont expect a melting vegan chees, like in vestern countries, its just tofu, but still very good, and very rare in colombia.

Lots of great vegetarian options! I think they have vegan options as well. I ended up eating here twice because the vegetarian lasagna was one of the best things I've ever eaten! It's a little pricey for South America (22,000 pesos, approx. 7 usd) but definitely worth it. I also had the boiled fruit to drink. Sounds weird but tastes delicious. Highly recommend it.

Went for a quick dinner in Salento. The atmosphere was perfect, it felt very authentic and especially loved sitting in the balcony booths overlooking the street. Food was 8/10 and service was okay. Overall, enjoyable spot and affordable too.

The grill chicken was delicious- didn’t expect anything but was super happy about it. Wanted something not super traditional to give the pallet a little break and happy the chicken order did the job. My only tips for tourists like myself visiting here may try to skip any milk based drink/ juice

This was by far our favorite restaurant throughout our 10 day trip in Colombia. The food here is absolutely amazing and very affordable. Monica was our server for multiple nights and always went above and beyond to make our dining experience special. If you are in the Salento area this place is a must go to!! It seems that if you are not planning on ordering something expensive, they don't care about your order. We waited for about 35-40 min for a "tinto," which is plain small black coffee and a soup. They never arrived, and the waiter was more into people ordering wine or things like that. After all that wait, we left, and the waiter saw us, but he barely cared. Beautiful view, though, but bad experience.

We came here after a long day in the Valley del Cocora. Service was quick and the food was excellent! Friendly staff! We ate the sobrebarriga and trucha ajillo were amazing and our favs. Check them out!

It’s taken me a while to write this review but now that I have the opportunity I wanted to say how beautiful this place is and the staff was absolutely wonderful!! I still wanted to give it 5 stars even though the bed was hard for me they staff went out their way to make me comfortable!! My husband and I stayed here was doing an adoption so we truly became a family right here on the hotel grounds! I couldn’t imagine a better place surrounded by the beautiful landscape! Thank you everyone for making our stay truly memorable!

Best restaurant in town! The first night we had trouts which were amazing. So we decided to come back again to try some local foods which were absolutely fabulous as well. The staff was very friendly and we had a great time.

Had some of the best food we ate in Colombia here, and for such a great price, we came back twice! Huge tomahawk steak with delicious chimichurri for the equivalent of £12 and a whole trout in creole sauce which was absolutely delicious for the equivalent of £6.

Fantastic service, good food and many different options. Fruit juices were good, beer options were decent, patacones were excellent, appetizer salad was awesome, main courses were served hot and well cooked. Portions are huge, so don’t feel shy sharing them if you don’t have ravenous teenagers like we do. There are English speaking waiters, and they have outdoor seating, nothing to complain about this place.

We had dinner here with friends for a lovely final evening in Salento. This restaurant came highly recommended, and while the food was very good, its timing left much to be desired (as noted under “Rooms”). The service, however, was almost unmatched in arrogance. A young waiter rather brusquely informed us that many meat and beer options were unavailable. As mentioned, the food arrived poorly timed, and payment was cash-only—not an issue in itself, but the way we were informed about it warranted another lost star. Overall, a fair 3-star experience.

This restaurant must be all about lunch, we were the only guests on a Saturday night. The trout was okay, drowned in sauce. The side salads were a joke. Don't know what that thing that came with the trout was, not a patacon but it was huge n okay with the tiny amount of salsa it came with. I ate dinner at Kaldi Restaurante in Salento, and the food was very good. The inside of the place is cute and charming, they have balcony seating overlooking the street, and everything was clean and tidy. The food is traditional Colombian - beans, fish, chicharrón, rice, and soups. Everything I tried was great and reasonably priced. My only complaint was the service. My friend and I were the only two customers and they forgot his dinner! Like, out of two meals, they made one and forgot the other! They kept us waiting a long time, and when we asked for something - he wanted to order an extra side of rice - we were told to wait every time. Could we get the check? Wait. Could we have our drinks? Wait! It felt like a joke, as there were three people working and just two customers... Despite the service, the food was so great, I'd come again. Maybe they were having an off night. Maybe they had some family emergency. Who knows. Definitely worth checking out. Just be ready to wait, and enjoy the ambiance.

I had the most delicious veggie meal and juice here with super friendly service. You can sit at nice narrow balcony to eat or instead chose communal benches or tables in quirkily decorated and charming rooms. It's a place that seems to popular with locals as well as visitors. You can pay by card including contactless also. Recommended!

We absolutely loved our experience at Casa Mueso Kaldi! We were greeted with a sing and were treated to excellent food and service. We had two different vegetarian/ vegan dishes that were delicious! They do have a veg section. The portion are also enough to split. Claudia is wonderful and make you feel right home. We hope to return the next time we visit :) Gracias!

This restaurant is a must visit for anyone near Corcoran Valley. It’s a huge traditional coffee region country house gracefully decorated and the food (traditional as well) is very good. We tried the frijoles, patacón con todo, and the trout, and very dish was well executed. The service is also great.

Nice place for lunch that specializes in trout. The baked trout in cream with shrimp was very good. The grilled trout is a lighter option. Plantain chips with salt was nice mop up the sauce. Fried chicken breast was large and enjoyed.

Stopped here for lunch on our way to Salento from the Parque Nacional Natural Los Nevados. They are known for the grilled trout, very good but watch out for the bones. My wife had the pasta primavera. Very nice setting.

It's a colorful, festive place complete with a cute candle burning on the table. I think the menu is pretty interesting and I ordered the trout in a creamy garlic sauce (trucha con ajillo) which was excellent. Being a garlic lover, the garlic flavor did not disappoint! The fish is locally course, delicate, pink and almost no bits to remove (except the head) . The serving is generous, the whole fish, I think. It only comes with a plantain that was pounded flat and fried, a giant "chip" and a small salad that had a light, somewhat sweet dressing. I was very happy with this find, great food, lots of ambience and right off the square.

Super hotel family run, good attention for clients reasonable prices and a great central location. Your stay includes parking if you have a vehicle and a nice breakfast. Basic clean comfortable room with a nice hot shower. The only downside can be a little noisy sometimes when people return to the hotel at night. Hands down the best food we have in Colombia! We tried 3 different dishes (ancestral rice, ajiaco, and mixed plate) on 2 separate visits, didn’t disappoint at all. Honorable mention to Ancestral Rice, it is the best stir-fried we had in Colombia, and we are Asian so we are very picky with stir-fried. Most places make it too wet or too salty, but this place got it right, plenty of mushrooms in the rice too which is quite rare in Colombia. The next day we had the mixed plate and added tofu on the side. We love the flavour of the mixed plate but find the taste of eggplant a bit underwhelming, didn’t go too well, maybe the eggplant should be roasted more or the sauce has to change? I love the texture of the tofu and the sauce that comes with it, and they are very generous with the portion 😍

Perfect post-bike ride fuel at Serendipia! Their vegan ajiaco was a revelation, rich, warming broth with tender potatoes, corn, and aromatic herbs served in a traditional clay pot with banana, rice and avocado. The guanabana juice was perfectly sweet, while the fresh baguette was ideal for soaking up every drop of that incredible soup. After cycling through Quindío’s stunning landscapes, this nourishing meal hit every spot. This place is vegetarian, just check the dishes that could be suitable for vegans.

Food was good and the view is outstanding. 4 persona with dinner and drinks was 190,000 COP with tip included. Two baby beefs and two chicken grilled plates with mushroom sauce. The mushroom sauce was 6 mil which was a bit high and the drinks were expensive too. Typical Quindío food and they lost 2 stars because the waitress kept coming to the table with the mask under the nose (even after I asked her to lift it). This mask down is always a sign of very bad or zero management. You can bet the place is not very clean because they don't care enough to save a life they certainly don't clean as they should. I always like to add that Quindio is the best place to live even though you can not expect much from the restaurants in the area. Few are fit to be in business but Camino Al Cielo has a chance to be good they just need better management. Here is a hint for the management. Good business reply to every review they receive.

We had 4 main dishes, unfortunately the burger had an expired patty which tasted very spoiled. When we complained about it they immediately offered a new dish but sadly my mom lost the appetite already after that moment. They didn’t charge the burger but also didn’t offer a free drink or anything. All in all it was okay, but definitely better places to go, the Picada however was very good!

We had diner at this pizza place in Salento. The seats are in a basement and it was not too busy around 7PM. The staff was very friendly to us, we could order quickly and our pizza’s arrived not much later. They were fresh from the oven and the dough was quite good. The pizza’s were fine and quite tasty. The ambience in the restaurant was not very spectacular but if you just want to have a pizza and go about your night this is a good spot.

At my stay in Viajero, the lovely employees, especially Alejandro, went above and beyond the expectations to give us the best stay possible.
