Villa Durazzo is a stunning 17th-century villa located in Santa Margherita Ligure, Italy. Originally built as a summer residence for the Durazzo family, it now stands as a historical landmark open to the public. The villa boasts period furniture, paintings, and manicured gardens with exotic plants, cobblestone tracks, neoclassical sculptures, and plant racks. Visitors can enjoy picturesque views of the gulf from this hilltop estate.
The Villa Durazzo-Pallavicini is a villa with notable 19th-century park in the English romantic style and a small botanical garden. The villa now houses the Museo di Archeologia Ligure, and is located at Via Pallavicini 13, immediately next to the railway station in Pegli, a suburb of Genoa, Italy. The park and botanical garden are open daily except mondays. The estate was begun in the late 17th century by Clelia Durazzo Grimaldi, who established the Giardino botanico Clelia Durazzo Grimaldi at that time. Today's park was created by her nephew Ignazio Alessandro Pallavicini after he inherited the property. The park was designed by Michele Canzio, set designer for the Teatro Carlo Felice, and built between 1840 and 1846. It covers some 97,000 m2 of hillside behind the villa. Although recognizably in the English romantic style, the garden is highly theatrical, to the point of being organized as a series of scenes forming a play with prologue and three acts (Return to Nature, Memory, Purification). Structures and statues through the garden form focal points to this libretto. When the park opened in September 1846, on the occasion of the VIII Congresso degli Scienziati Italiani, it quickly gained national fame. In 1928 its current owner, Matilde Gustinani, donated both park and botanical garden to Genoa for use as a public park. Through the remainder of the 20th century, the garden fell into some disrepair, and indeed was threatened in 1972 by construction of a nearby highway. Its restoration began in 1991, however, in honor of Columbus' discovery of America. As of 2006 about half of the park is open for visitors. In 2017 the park was elected the most beautiful garden in Italy. The park contains two ponds, a dozen notable structures, various statues, and an extensive grotto. The grotto represents a Dantesque inferno, with walkways and subterranean lake through which the visitor may ascend to paradise. In former years, visitors could explore the grotto by boat. Structures include a Coffee House in the shape of triumphal arch, Rustic House, Madonna's Chapel, Mausoleum of the Captain, Temple of Diana, Flower House, Turkish Temple, Obelisk, and Chinese Pagoda. The park also contains a number of plantings of botanical interest, including mature specimens of Araucaria bidwillii, Cedrus libani, Cinnamomum camphora, Jubaea chilensis, Picconia excelsa, Firmiana simplex, Quercus suber, Podocarpus macrophyllus, many exotic palms and a stand of some 160 Camellia japonica.

Villa Durazzo is truly one of the most royal and beautiful villas I have ever seen. Surrounded by peaceful gardens and timeless architecture, it offers a sense of quiet elegance that feels almost magical. The atmosphere is unique — a perfect blend of history, beauty, and serenity — making it an unforgettable place to visit.
KETEVAN G — Google review
The gardens of Villa Durazzo are absolutely breathtaking filled with statues, palm trees and a sense of deep history that you can feel in every corner. It’s one of those places that instantly takes you back in time. We had the joy of photographing a wedding there, and the combination of timeless beauty, sea views, and elegant architecture made it a truly unforgettable celebration.

Historical villa with beautiful gardens, statuary, fountains and turtles. Nice views of the city and beaches below and the surrounding hillsides.hillside. When open, one can tour inside the villa and see some blown glass chandeliers and period furniture.

We came for a tour, which was very pleasant. Garden is fee of charge, has a playground. Coffee house is also nice! In the evening we came back for a piano concert which was outstanding!!

Parco Regionale di Portofino is a protected coastal area in Italy with breathtaking views and hiking paths that showcase a wide variety of plants and wildlife. The park has many picnic areas with tables, though there are no designated spots for camping or bivouacking. Visitors can also enjoy cycling through the park with rental services available. Additionally, the underwater scenery in the area is truly amazing.
Anyone who loves to hike needs to go through here when going to Portofino by foot!

Svetlana I — Google review
What a wonderful world. Italy has many beautiful surprises and this is one. A nice and atypical park with many many great places. The path is well marked and there is a lot of picnic area with tables and views. Sadly there is two drawbacks. The first one is the map indicated on every main signals in the park, indeed the satellite view isn't accurate enough. Secondly there is no place to bivouac. I know there is a shelter but a national park which is close to nature must have a dedicated place to campers. Globally if you have a detour to do to see this park, do it.

Spiaggia Minaglia Santa Margherita Ligure is a popular beach area that attracts tourists throughout the year, especially in the summer. The city is framed by stunning seas and mountains, providing a beautiful backdrop for visitors. During the summer, the beaches are bustling with activity as people seek relief from the heat in the cool sea waters.
My favorite little beach in S.M. Bring your own towel and goggles to see all the fish that will swim around you, enjoy this gem is completely free and full of sun till around 18:00. People are chill and respectful. It’s a great little spot to relax from the intensity of the main streets and other crowded beaches.

I drove with my kids to this lovely beach right before Portofino. I chose it because there is a reasonable parking structure right across the street from the beaches! Very tight parking but great location! This beach has changing rooms and an outdoor shower. Great snacks and drinks. A little tight as a beach but we spent the day there and it was spectacular! The water was great! We are definitely going again. Very frequented by the locals, as it appears, but highly recommended for the visitors who want to avoid the Portofino lines for parking. PS: there is a shuttle down the street that takes you to Portofino. We spent the day at the beach. Had lunch there. Changed at 6pm or so. Took the shuttle to have dinner in Portofino and back to the parking area a whopping €3 per hour parking! Can’t beat that. Perfect day!
H C — Google review
Very nice location. The price is affordable because there is the option to buy half-day sunbeda for 11eur each. The half-day goes until 13:00 and from 13:00. Unfortunatly there is no sand but gravel which kind of hurts when walking over it. To the sea: there is no sand too but the whole ground is covered in big rocks. This is no criticism to the beach owner cause he cant do anything about it, but a mentionable negative point about the beach. The only problem i could find was that they dont really offer food. You can buy cocktails, drinks and Sandwiches but not real food. Overall a good experience regarding the low prices

Perfect beach for fair money. Service and personal are very nice and welcoming, fell like you are with friends. Comfortable entrance to the water, clean, long distance to buoys where people can easily swim for long. Take swimming mask or glasses to see the beauty of the see. For me the best beach in the area. Online reservation is available. Strongly recommend. 50 euros per 2 beds and parasol in first 2 rows and 32 for the rest. Beautiful we of Santa Margherita.

Giò e Rino Beach is a charming spot that appeals to both locals and tourists. It offers a relaxed atmosphere with separate areas for children and adults, ensuring a peaceful experience. Visitors can access the water via stairs or enjoy the free swimming spot with diving pontoons. The beach provides amenities such as sun bed and umbrella rentals, showers, and toilet facilities. Additionally, there's a bar serving delicious food made from homegrown produce.
Nice simple place and, luckily, no dogs 🐶 allowed. Some children still are present but they have their “own area” near the beach. Otherwise old and young. Locals (Italians) and tourists. Option to reach the water also with stairs from the part there is no beach, even better option for few reasons. Bresaola salad 🥗 for 8€ and 2 sun beds + umbrella 25€, other places, double, vedi tu! Free showers (not too cold) & WC readily available. Can still walk easily from Santa Margherita as busses 🚎 are full like sardine cans for 1.80€. P.S. Can also just but your own towel down without paying 25€ for 2 sun beds & umbrella. Parking possible with Scooter only Need to take few steps of stairs to arrive “down” to the beach area. Better to arrive before 9, max 10 a.m. as more options to choose from for the sun beds & umbrella location.

We stumbled on this beach area while walking. Lovely and lively spot for (mostly) locals, staffs were friendly. We stayed almost the whole day there (for 30€, 2 sun beds and 1 umbrella). Recommend to bring water slippers as the beach is rocky and with pebbles. They have little snack hut, shower and wc.

First thing in the morning... No one there except us and a handful of others and just stunning crystal clear water 🏊. There is a free swimming spot with pontoons to dive off. Beach chair rental available also. Parking next to it but be early.

Thank you for the nice and delicious dinner. Price/Quality ratio is really good here. The food was good and delicious. We have tried the pesto trofie, beef lasagne, stuffed and breaded friend anchovies. Breaded anchovies is not something special but still was nice. Stuffed anchovies was a unique taste for me which was filled with parmesan and pumpkin. At the end we tried tiramisu and apple pie. All was good, If you are in town and looking for a nice meal with reasonable prices. Go for it. Other restaurants in the coast side charges a lot even for a house wine! Thank you igor

Historical location, recently renewed. Pezzi offers a selection of Liguria traditional recipes. Cozy and informal, with home-made style. Even if not marked, several vegetarian recipes are available in the menu. Vegetable pies and stuffed vegetables are good options. Just ask the friendly staff for an advice. Better to book during summer and weekends.

Husband and wife pastry operation here from the USA. A very authentic and amazing experience. The pesto, lasagna, limoncello, anchovies, were beyond stellar. Highly recommended!! In our opinion, one of the finest in the area. Igor, if he’s there, will take the most amazing care of you.

So happy we found this place in SML. It was one of our favorite meals from the entire trip. The food was incredible and the people could not have been nicer. It was very reasonably priced (10-15 euro pastas), but the food rivaled our fanciest dinners. Everything we got was incredible, but our favorite was the grandmas pesto pasta. The Nutella tiramisu is also a must try.

I don’t understand We by people give bad review because of the water conditions. It changes constantly because it’s a sea 🌊. I understand speaking about bad conditions of toilettes and changing room. 😅 but it’s still free. Also comments about overcrowded one public beach 🏖️. Dears, it’s to give than one start and complain under the city hall of Santa Margherita:) it’s nothing to do with the punta pedale location. To reach this are its on with the cat but than park it around 8 am. Bus from Santa Margherita getting out at covo di nord est and then walk.
Nata_lie N — Google review
Public beach between 2 paid beaches. I would've given 1*, but give 2 only because it's the only public beach in the area which is not super overcrowded. Beach is stony, not so clean, water is ok. I generally regret coming to this area - paid beaches are crazy expensive, and public beaches are very few, low quality and extremely full. I wish I red reviews instead of praising articles (such a lie!!!) before coming here for vacation.
Marina T — Google review
From the moment I stepped into the establishment, I should have trusted my instincts to turn around and leave. The chef was not only topless but also running around the kitchen sweating profusely. To make matters worse, he was wearing gloves, but what good are gloves when he was touching the trash with them and then handling food? The sight alone was enough to make anyone lose their appetite. I ordered the Pasta Vongole, expecting a flavorful dish featuring fresh clams. Instead, I received a plate with just five shells, two of which were open while the remaining three were tightly closed. Knowing the risks of eating closed clams, I avoided them, but clearly, I should have avoided the entire dish. A few hours after returning home, I was hit with the worst food poisoning of my life. The symptoms were so severe that I ended up in the hospital, where the doctors confirmed it was due to bad vongole. The experience was utterly traumatic, and I wouldn't wish it on anyone. This restaurant is a disaster waiting to happen. The lack of basic hygiene and food safety standards is alarming. I strongly urge everyone to steer clear of this place. Dining here is not worth the risk to your health. DO NOT RECOMMEND this place at all!

It's a great spot for families as the paths cleared through the rocks make access to the sea easy. The picturesque view across the bay towards punta pagana adds to its allure.
Wonderful beach! It will be interesting for those who like snorkeling.
Anatoly Z — Google review
There is no beach with sand, all rocks so I would even recommend bringing some sea shoes to wear while walking and swimming. To find a spot is difficult, you either have to spend 50€ for an umbrella and 2 chairs (which is crazy) or you have to sit on the floor between other people on a “spiaggia libera” . There were showers which was practical and the water wasn’t the cleanest but it was still nice. The view was also really nice

This small public beach is accessible via a flight of steps from the road. It is a gravelly beach with little paths cleared through the rocks making access to the sea easy and child friendly. The water is very clear so good for snorkeling and from the beach you can see across the little bay of San Michele towards punta pagana, which is very picturesque. Overhanging trees provide some shade until after lunch time. Best of all there is a shower.

Honestly, just isn’t worth the hype. It’s incredibly crowded, and the longer you stay, the worse it gets with waves of people constantly arriving by boat. We stayed for only 30 minutes before leaving because it was so overwhelming. People were sitting on our bags etc like it was a free-for-all, and there was zero sense of personal space. If you’re hoping for a relaxing or authentic experience, skip it. Save your time and explore somewhere less chaotic.

Take Free Tickets for the Beach at pro loco di Camogli. Go there at least at 6am and wait Till the office opens at 8:30 to get your free pass. Otherwise take a first ship from Camogli or make a hike here around and come for around 9 am. It’s the time when the beach kind opens. So you can take a sit for 30€ plus umbrella. ( price 2021). Kids friendly

this place is beautiful and the main Bagni here! during busy season, call ahead at least one day and reserve your spot under their gorgeous purple umbrellas. they have spotless changing rooms, a shower, and the calmest corner of the beach. their staff was beyond kind to us after a misunderstanding and took care of us without having to ask. they are right off the ferry landing, and next to a bar and restaurant where you can purchase drinks and snacks. highly recommend spending your day here!

Spiaggia Libera di Prelo is a charming public beach nestled in the scenic town of Rapallo, located in the beautiful Liguria region of Italy. This quaint pebble beach offers visitors a serene escape from the bustling beach clubs, making it an ideal spot for those seeking tranquility without incurring extra costs. Although the pebbles can be a bit uncomfortable for lounging, the crystal-clear waters and stunning views more than compensate for this minor inconvenience.

Baia di Paraggi, also known as Spiaggia di Paraggi, is a captivating beach located in the charming town of Santa Margherita Ligure in Italy. It is renowned for its crystal-clear turquoise waters, golden sands, and lush vegetation, making it a top attraction in the area. The picturesque bay is surrounded by green hills and offers a tranquil swimming inlet with sun loungers on the beach.
Superb beach and incredible water, though to buy sunbeds is extremely expensive 200€+. A few restaurants that are expensive as well, but there is a free portion of the beach. Quiet in september. Would recommend for an incredible day at the beach

What a wonderful place. Less busy than Portfino with nicer beach, with beautiful turquoise clean waters. Only issue is that the beach is 90% limited to the guests of the overpriced restaurants.
Fedja D — Google review
Spent an amazing day here with my family. Clear water and white sand. 90% of the beach was privatized and pricey for Sun bed and facilities. It’s really relaxing and a kind of experience. Love it.
Ida W — Google review
Visited Baia di Paraggi on Sept 23 and was happy to see that it was not overcrowded as it was clearly end of season. The “beach clubs” were either closed, or just really not that busy. There is a tiny “free” beach in between the private clubs areas, and there was still spots available around 1pm to lay a towel down on the sand. We walked to the beach from Santa Margherita Ligure which took about 15 minutes from where we parked on the street (for free) just past Capo Nord. The walk was pleasant on the boardwalk along the coast of the sea. We checked out the prices at Bagni Fiori for a day bed but it was out of our price range at appx 200€ for two day beds. Could have been worth it for a full beach day on a sunny summer day, but unfortunately it was a bit cloudy that day and we were only there for a short period of time. The hostess at Bagni Fiori was kind to us anyway.

We stayed in a little boutique hotel in Paraggi and traffic was insane, the police officer stopped us and asked for proof of reservation to be able to drive down from Santa Margherita Ligure. It's located in the Italian Riviera. The "magic" of Portofino became more of a hassle than anything else... The Baia is pretty small and offers only a few options for food and drinks. It looks like it might be a great place for swimming and diving, but we did not test the water. Once we were able to park (we had to wait for a while to get a spot), we walked down to Portofino in about 20 minutes. That part was nice and very scenic but I wish they had a better structure for hotels and parking options. In a nutshell: too much demand for little structure.
Kat S — Google review
The bay is beautiful, no doubt about it. But if you’re not ready to pay a ridiculous price for sunbeds (70 euros for two beds and an umbrella even at the very end of the day, just for one hour!), you’re left with a miserable narrow strip of beach that’s already packed with everyone unwilling to pay that price. It felt humiliating – just one shabby dark changing booth for all the people there. My advice: bring as few things as possible.

Recently renovated, it now features new parts including a terrace and warm showers with boutique products from aqua di parma.
We happened upon this spot while walking to Portofino and could walk no further. We enjoyed delicious cocktails overlooking the beautiful crystal clear water in Paraggi. The service was amazing and I must give a special shout out to Andrea for his warmth and enthusiasm. We enjoyed our time so much that we had to come back for a second visit and I’m sure we will return…

The price is definitely on a high side, but it was worth if considering the attentive services from the staffs, private locker room, toilet, shower with dior shower gel and safety guard standby. Pasta tasted great- simple but delicious and we were able to spend great time with beautiful Portofino views. Just take note that served water is also chargeable for 2 euro per bottle as we originally assumed that it is a complimentary service. The sunbeds and overall facilities were maintained in a good condition and it was worth the experience

We visited this beach during their Dior takeover in October 2025 and it was everything a classy beachclub could offer. Their setting is idyllic and the new design takes it up a few more notches. There are a variety of seating and loungers available, all rather affordable and a beautiful restaurant for seafood and local delights. The staff were super polite and they had even swapped a wine bottle once we've noticed that we had ordered the wrong one. It's only a 6min taxi ride away from Portofino, we tried to approach by sea but you cannot access it without needing to jump into the sea. Highly recommend!

Horrible service and hospitality in comparison to the price you pay - an employee guided us to the “bar area” and a table, where a bit later another employee told us that this table is reserved (no reserved sign). He did not offer any alternative, so we stayed at the table and asked him to get in touch w/ his colleague who guided us from the entrance 😎. After a third staff member was handing us the menu and we ordered (why did we actually stay?) staff member#2 gave us the wrong bill - all of the sudden even more expensive than the at best mediocre stuff we ordered 😉… We requested the correct bill, got it immediately, paid w/o any tip and will never return 👎

Most amazing beach experience. The service was incredible. The new management has really made a difference. Josep was the best host for us and really made us feel at home. 10/10 recommend over all other beach clubs in Portofino.

The most expensive beach in Portofino. We paid 450 € for 2 people only for the ENTRANCE. Also they charged 45 € for the parking. The food is also expensive in Langosteria but the seafood is so delicious. The beach is decorated by Dior. The service and the staff is really good and kind. Because of our honeymoon they served us a complimentary Chandon. This is so lovely. The price is little high but they deserve it.

Originally founded by Genoese monk Ottone Lanfranco, this historical site features stunning medieval architecture and a serene Renaissance-style garden that invites visitors to explore its beauty. The Abbey is a beautiful and peaceful place to visit. Since the Abbey is a private residence, it is only open to the public on Sunday from 1000 to 1200. The tours are guided and provide the Abbey's history in both Italian and English. The Abbey's gardens are spectacular. There is no parking on the grounds.

La Cervara is one of the most exquisite and beautiful abbeys in the world. The views from the abbey are breathtaking. We were fortunate enough to have our wedding at La Cervara. The staff were very professional and both the wedding and reception were seamless. Our guests thoroughly enjoyed the dinner. The seafood is utterly amazing. If you are looking to get married in the Portofino area, we highly recommend La Cervara.

Abbazia della Cervara was built in 1361 and is surrounded by formal gardens. Over the centuries, the abbey has hosted Benedictine monks, three popes and a saint (Catherine of Siena), and the French king, François I, who spent a less convivial time here as a prisoner after the 1525 Battle of Pavia. Tours take in the gardens, 15th-century chapterhouse, 16th-century cloister and the Saracen Tower.

Overpriced, rude staff, and not worth the visit. We stayed at the hotel and decided to goto to the beach club. The manager of the beach club is obnoxious and annoyed when asked anything. It started raining and lightning, we took cover with everyone else underneath near the restaurant. He was annoyed and complained that everyone was waiting there. Some advice - don’t work in hospitality if you’re rude and annoyed interacting with people. This place thinks they are five stars but it’s more like no stars

Lifeguard who, moreover, spends his time discussing rather than monitoring the real potential danger. We stopped to swim a little and especially to eat, the food was not very good. In 1665 the chapel of S. Felice was built in the church, and some cells were added to the convent. With the suppression of 1810 the archpriest advanced rights over the church and the convent, and on this occasion Cardinal Spinola intervened and in 1811 decreed the church under his immediate jurisdiction. The convent reopened on 4 October 1822. In 1866, the application of the law was unsuccessful as regards the Capuchins of S. The Christ of the Abyss is a striking bronze statue located 17 meters below the surface of the Mediterranean Sea, near the Abbey of San Fruttuoso. This underwater sculpture was submerged in 1954 as a symbol of protection for sea explorers. Depicting Jesus with open arms, it serves as a tribute to fallen divers and sailors.
Had a great experience at San Fruttuoso!! We stayed at the beach for a while before we decided to go exploring along the coast. We followed a path and climbed down some rocks down to the sea and swam from there. We accidentally found the Christ statue about 15 metres out from the coast, a really cool surprise! I’ve never seen water this blue and clear before. Definitely recommend bringing glasses or a snorkelling set, so you can look at all the fish and cool stuff under the surface (and avoid jellyfish…)
Märta H — Google review
This was an amazing experience and an absolute must. In order to truly experience it you need to get in the water and dive just below the surface, but it is perfectly visible and simply amazing. I would encourage others to go on a sunny day though as it does make a huge difference.

Really powerful experience. If swimming from San Fruttuoso, keep to the left side of the bay, heading to the most prominent headland. It's a decent swim but surrounded by boats and SUPs. Just before reaching the headland, in the area close to the cliffs, protected by buoys is a broad cove. Search for a bright white disc. Right next to this is Il Cristo.

We chose the sunbeds on the terrace, just above the sand, and it was perfect: peaceful, breezy, and with a stunning view of the sea. The atmosphere was elegant but relaxed, the staff were kind, and everything was clean and well-organized. We didn’t eat there, but the bar looked nice. What we appreciated most was the calm, refined vibe,no loud music, just the sound of the waves. A perfect spot to unwind. We’ll definitely be back!

The only beach you should go to when in Santa Margherita. It is a 12-15 min drive from the town by bus, you pay around 40 euros for the entrance (which is pricey) but believe me worth every penny. The combination of clear waters and breathtaking views is the experience you'll be having. I felt I am in the middle of nowhere and spent a relaxing day there. I surely recommend it. Make sure to reserve your places before heading to the beach as it gets busy and there's a high chance they will not let you in

Best value for money in Paraggi. Luxury beach chairs and service for a more affordable price than other options in Paraggi. Drinks and food are great. We came back 3 straight days given the great value for price compared to the other options in Paraggi.

My family and I went through yesterday and spent a stunning day on the beach. The staff at Bagni Bosetti were friendly, helpful and went the extra mile to make sure that we were well taken care of. Cristiano, a staff member, was particularly fantastic and gave me a few tips on the area as well as some history. All-in-all, I would definitely recommend this as a great experience.

A very special place. The beach club and beach are both very well maintained. Everything looks great, works perfectly and is kept extremely clean. The beach has beautiful clean sand. The ocean floor here also has excellent clean sand. No rocks. No swim shoes needed. The restaurant is terrific - I was expecting standard Lido fare - this is a true restaurant. Delicious food & great wines. The entire team of people running this place are lovely, knowledgable & helpful. Highly recommended.

Terrible experience — not recommended at all. Overpriced menu, added items we didn’t order, and refused to show the menu when we asked to confirm prices. They overcharged us by €12–15 and only fixed it after we insisted. Beach service was a scam — charged us for an extra sunbed and a fourth person who never joined. Refused to refund or offer anything in return. Manager was extremely rude, and we only got our money back after a long argument and intervention from another staff member. They even tried to justify the scam by saying umbrellas cost €150, which is ridiculous. Worst service I’ve ever experienced — avoid this place.

We went for beach access here - it was a very pleasant experience with incredible views.

Adorable dog beach. Nearby restaurant was a pleasant bonus. Friendly people and dogs alike!

Great little beach for dogs! There’s a hose and shower. There’s clear, decently clean water. Cons: - Not much shade so bring an umbrella - Small area so it can get crowded - Paid parking a nearby walk - Water-shoes are a plus Be aware: If you’re not into dogs running around, pick another beach

A fair walk outside of town to a rocky beach below the roadway. The canine loved it (excluding the 'scary' rippling waves!), despite the lack of sand. There's a picture of Pluto the Dog with a sign that said "Cani" & "Cancello", which made us a little concerned that dogs were no longer welcome (turns out "cancello" is Ital. for 'gate'. Ah.). The Bau Bau beach sign had fallen off and broken, and half of it was reattached crudely on the handrail halfway down (so totally useless - you have to have already committed to entering the beach without this info!). :) Very grateful that there is a dog-friendly beach access for SML / Portofino, though, so we'll gladly take what we can get! Otherwise - a pretty crummy beach full of fishing detritus.

Considering that there're not so many public beaches nearby, this one is ok. At least I could find a place on it. It's rocky, but still manageable to get in/out without shoes. Laying down is ok too.
