Only a small museum so it won't take too long to get around but very interesting nonetheless. It was free entry on our visit but we went in happy to pay the usual £2 entry fee. The lady on reception was very helpful also.

A lovely little museum, entry only £2 so definitely worth it to see the exhibits. Staff are very friendly. The gift shop has many good value for money items, and there's also a wide variety of leaflets regarding local attractions, walks, events etc so a good stop off for anyone staying locally. There is a lift for access to all 3 floors of the museum.

I love a local attraction and the staff here were very welcoming but this castle won't take long to go round. There's very little left for a start. The Georgian mansion has loads of local info but there wasn't much about the original mediaeval history. Good intro presentation on arrival and elaborate cafe but you won't need much more than an hour. It's priced accordingly.

Lovely museum in the old cinema Aberystwyth. £2 entry & free for children. Tourist information centre, cafe , gift shop. Well worth a visit to see the old cinema which is still intact, interesting local artifacts.

Fantastic display of local history and significant events dating back well before Roman times. It’s a free museum and so well presented with lovely helpful staff. Even my 19 year old son was impressed so it must be good! 😂 I loved the way individual displays were arranged around the tiers of the building. I thought the Roman info area was great. I also liked that the building was intact as a play house. Great work team!

The museum is set in a beautiful Edwardian theatre which itself made me want to visit a theatre for a show. The museum is full of different exhibits from the different time periods and different social classes throughout Ceredigion's history. It's well worth the visit if you are in the area. My kids loved it! As a side note the staff in the gift shop were very friendly. I thanked them in Welsh and didn't judge me for my attempt. The lady in the museum upstairs was amazing. We visited with our two children (8 year old girl & 9 year old boy) and as soon as she saw them she brought over two treasure hunt/Easter egg hunt sheets for them which they loved. She answered any questions that we asked without judgement and was very informative. She was also extremely accommodating when my autistic son was having a panic attack about going upstairs and brought over some colouring crayons and sheets for him to help calm him down. diolch yn fawr iawn i'r staff

Fantastic museum located in town. Nice and easy to walk around with the pram and very friendly staff. The displays are locally relavant and quite interesting. Especially like the roman glass and barn display. Highly recommend. It's also free to enter, fantastic!

Great place for a good mooch around. Lots of interesting things to look at. They also have an outdoor gardening section with the odd plants for sale. Pop in for a look round never know what you might find. And the prices are very reasonable I like the vintage clothing part of the shop.

Discussed. I'm a disabled man. I let costal antiques in my house and the guy took things which He didn't pay for. I have informed the police after we found out the items missing. Be very weary, not honest people. 😡

Great shop with plenty of variety and well laid out. A bit like the yard is inside much bigger inside than you think. Fantastic hidden gem. Most reasonable prices I’ve seen from an antique shop too. Recommended!

Not far from the station and all major streets. Some eclectic stuff from the 70s to potentially late Victorian. The owner was pleasant and let you have a rummage to your hearts content.

Plenty of choices on the menu and prices are very reasonable. However, we did have a very long wait (approx 45 mins) for what were quite simple dishes. But the food was ok and the atmosphere was nice and relaxed.

If you are in Aberystwyth, don't go to the 'Spoons, come to The White Horse instead! The beer is kept and poured to perfection and the food is so delicious, the meat is sourced from the local butcher and the desserts are phenomenal! The staff couldn't be more helpful and accommodating, and the toilets are spotless! I can't speak highly enough of this place!

So I ordered The chippy feast... That contained fish & Chips & Curry sauce and mushy peas and Tartare sauce with a battered sosuage. The sosuage was far to small also not enough chips to go with all the different sauces so £11 sounds good but I hope they start adding more chips to the plate. Maybe the don't need to include curry sauce when mushy pease is already on the plate so they instead of wasting money on Curry sauce then make it so it has more chips. They see to waste plate space with all the different sauces is that because they don't like adding chips ? Service was slow considering not many in the pub. All that said the food was delicious and friendly staff.

We came with a voucher that we had been given by our son, for a meal for 2. The waiter, James, wasn’t aware of the deal but he went above and beyond to ensure that we were sorted out. He was very attentive and polite and also interested in us as customers, which is a refreshing change nowadays. Thanks James for your attention.

Neat looking pub. We had 3 starters to share. Nachos were cold and not good. Wings were ok but just put on a plate and covered in cold bbq sauce. Onion rings were just average. Server never offered us plates and we ate over our napkins. Noting special here folks.

I recently visited The White Horse in Aberystwyth and had a mixed experience. On the positive side, the full breakfast was fantastic. The eggs were perfectly cooked, the sausages were flavorful, and the accompanying beans, mushrooms, and toast were delicious. It was hearty, well-prepared, and truly satisfying. However, the bacon sandwich left something to be desired. The bacon was a bit too dry chewy, and lacked the crispiness that one would expect. It seemed slightly underwhelming compared to the otherwise excellent full breakfast. Overall, The White Horse is a great place for a hearty breakfast, but the bacon sandwich could use some improvement. I'd still recommend giving it a try for the friendly atmosphere and the overall quality of their breakfast offerings.

me and my family ordered cheesy chips. they come really fast with hardly any cheese on it. then one of my family members asked for more cheese and got charged 2£ extra from the 15£ we already paid.

Large spoons connected to railway station, good outside space on what was railway platforms. Good hot food,but one of the more expensive due to location. Just around the corner from here is retail park with 3 hour free parking. Spoons is quite noisy due to size of seating area.

Nice pub right on the train station with all you would expect from a typical wetherspoons, excellent value & a decent atmosphere quite popular with students locals. A fair number of seating booths that are well positioned if you like to be slightly away from the crowd. Overall a decent night out & the food is pretty good.

Breakfast pretty decent, although they wouldn't allow me to swap out the tomatoes for toast as most other Wetherspoons do. Cider (Black Dragon and Old Rosie) were available, but not in the usual boxed form, instead they were on a pull which destroys the taste. All other Wetherspoons I have ever been in keep these two STILL ciders in their original boxes from Westons.

The young woman who brought my drink couldn't speak or smile. She needs some training or maybe she was having an off day. She served me twice. I said thank you but no response from her. Barman was pleasant enough. I won't return.

We sat outside Wetherspoons on the pavement as we know inside was not dog friendly, was told that the premises was not dog friendly even on the pavement outside. Plenty to of other dog friendly pubs including the Hoptamist, Vale of Rheidol, The White horse which we were willing to spend our money eating and drinking.

We always have a fabulous dining experience at this amazing establishment, the new table arrangement is a huge improvement since we were last there. The food was top notch as ever, as was the Vermouth flight, the staff were also extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Highly recommended, can’t wait to return again and again.

Food was really really good here, but our server was not quite up to it. We were often the last to get our drinks and food and we're given one option for a dish of the day when someone else after us got offered 3 options! This aside, the food is very good and we'll be back to try some more dishes.

Congratulations to the cook I have no idea how she cut them in half ) - £9 See the receipt, don't be shy: two pieces of toast with cheese and honey £9 The third picture is one taken in Tenerife, €27 - tapas with 6 dishes, chips, omelet and salad a smoothie and a cocktail! The picture is from 2 years ago ! The server is nice here but .... In Auschwitz they were serving better portions 🤣😂🤣😂🤣 That's £32 I'll never spend here ! PS: they have lovely cheese at £35 per kilogram 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣 PPS: I'm Romanian and if you want you could have this food for half the price and better the quality! You're pissing money down the drain in this shop .....

Lovely place, felt like I was back home. The food here is authentic, top notch service and very caring staff! Bit pricey though (22£ for jamón patatas y huevo and a jamón bocadillo), but I understand since they import the food. Definitely worth another visit! 10/10

Fantastic Hispanic delicatessen. Great range of wines and cheeses. Friendly and helpful staff. There's a cafe too, but i just had a quick coffee: it was excellent but can't comment further.

Amazing shop for authentic Spanish food. Wide range of olives, cheeses, meats and everything in between. Take away freshly made, made to order sandwiches are the best in aberystwyth by a long way.

Very clean and tidy store. But the prices are way beyond the quality of products, especially shoes and men's clothing. Nice cafe. The main observation that bothered me every time I visited the store was a sense of unfrienliness by the staff making me feel that only whites were welcome.

Went into cafe at M&S this afternoon. Bought 2 flat white coffees and 2 all day breakfast wraps. The coffee was not too good but the wraps were tasteless and awful. I left most of mine. So sad and over £21 down.

Love the overpriced, tasteless coffee, ssitting on a chair so uncomfortable I need a chiropractor, so hot a bikini is called for..... said no one ever! No wonder our visits here are not frequent.

This M&S in Wales is lovely, it's big and clean, it has a lovely Cafe, always buzzy.

Really lovely place. Very impressed. Staff are very friendly and helpful but the check out can be a bit slow. Really enjoy my time having a look around and really great place to see a lot of seasonal items.

We still love Charlie's. The staff are fabulous, friendly and super helpful. The range of stuff would put even the biggest B&Q to shame and they deliver locally. What's not to like?

I returned a bolt (Cost about 2.50) which had fallen to pieces as I removed it from it's packaging. I was told I must have my receipt to prove purchase even though I brought it back with the original packaging. They'll be seeing a lot less of me in the future!

Charlie's Stores at the Parc y Llyn Retail Park, Aberystwyth (behind Morrisons) is a vast store selling a wide range of hardware items, outdoor clothing, kitchenware and garden plants and accessories. There is very good customer service and it is well worth a visit.

ROOM 3 The reviews worried me a little before we arrived but we were really pleasantly surprised. There was a lovely young lady who greeted us at the check in desk and was very helpful throughout the duration of our stay. The room was as expected, it has it's flaws as stated in some of the other reviews, the windows did need a bit of a clean so that the view could be seen better but everything else was absolutely fine! The bedsheets were clean, the wardrobe was a decent size, the beds were comfortable and the hotel has everything you'd expect in the room like tea and coffee making things, hair driers, shower gels, coat hangers etc. The noise was a little bit more intense than we expected with us being able to hear every time someone showers, shuts a door or flushes the toilet. This wasn't the hotel's fault really as they did have signs up telling people to keep the noise to a minimum at night so I can't really fault them there but it's a shame the walls were so thin. The view and location was the selling point for us. The view was absolutely beautiful and it was less then a two minute walk from the beach meaning that we could go swimming and relaxing on the beach at all times and easily come back to get changed or grab last minute things. Overall I would definitely stay here again, it's not the ritz but we were under no illusions about that and for the money we paid it was well worth it.

The hotel was rough. View was awful as posted from room 8 and the room was tiny not a single picture on the wall, very unwelcoming. Carpets worn and not attached to the skirting, very, very shabby upstairs. The mattress gave me a horrific bad back. To the extent on the 2nd night I left at 4am to return home doing a 7hr drive. That being said the receptionist was lovely and informative, the hotel was situated in a great spot for access to town. Such a shame as it has potential to be better

This is a great place to stay being right on the seafront. The room was very clean however I can't give 5 stars as the mattress was terrible. Haven't had one so bad since before Travelodge changed all theirs! It was rock hard and the metalwork was impossible to avoid. Apart from that it was fab.

The hotel is in a good location right on the beach, the main town center is a 10 minute walk and the staff were friendly. There is no free parking so be aware you will have to use the off-road parking behind the hotel which is £7 per day. The only gripe I have is the room itself, I was there on business so the company paid the cost so it didn't bother me too much, however if I had paid for this myself as a holiday I would not be too impressed, the room was a little small which is to be expected, there was dust on the bed frames and lights and the windows were covered in cobwebs. There is also the issue off the windows not opening all the way and one off them missing the Handle to actually open it. There is also metal bars on the windows where it actually does open which I assume is a safety concern for toddlers but it does block the view. The windows themselves were also very dirty and difficult to look out off, the bathroom was ok all be it a little cramped and the shower again was small and a little awkward but again not a big issue. I think this place just needs a little more attention to detail when cleaning the rooms and possibly look at replacing the old windows, it would make such a big difference in my opinion. Other then that it was fine, in a good location.

The hotel is somewhat tired, but for the money, it does the job for a room for a night. Check-in was easy and the water pressure for the shower was good. The exposed electric junction box on the bathroom ceiling was less good!

Stayed at this hotel a couple of years ago for our wedding anniversary it was that nice and welcoming we stayed a extra couple of nights decided to go back for this year's anniversary on arrival we was put in a room that really wasnt fit for sleeping they changed us to another room no trouble at all that was very nice of them .the room itself was clean and tidy but the 1 thing that was a massive let down was the bed I'm sure it was bought in there from when the building was built the landing going up to the room needs a dam good clean and a lick of paint its a real shame to see it like this when we know it can be a outstanding place for very little effort it can be back to the way it was i hope it improves cause its a great location and the views are stunning.

First impression count and I think they need to take a good look around, definitely needs a deep clean, but to bre honest it needs painting right through... In our room the bedside lamp wouldn't work ,tried in other sockets and no luck,the extension hasn't been PAT tested for2 years neither had the fan...and a open light fitment in bathroom ceiling with no cover wires exposed...the stairs needed a deep clean the paintwork was really dirty...

Generally the staff here are really helpful (which is why this isn't 1 star). I'm new in Wales, and want to learn the language. I bought a dysgu cymraeg workbook for the South Wales Sylfaen course off the shelf here last year, but I then realised it wasn't an up to date copy (it needed to be 'Fersiwn 2'). I took it back and they agreed to swap it, and order me in the correct book. I then started using it in class, only to find it wasn't the one it should be - the Waterstones staff member had ordered the North Wales version. I went in to explain their mistake and ask for it to be changed to the correct version but they said as I had started writing in it there was nothing they could do. I have had to order the correct version and they have said I will have to pay for it. Now. I have a long term health condition which causes me fatigue, brain fog, and a bunch of other things too tedious to list. I'm not good at causing a fuss in store, of the sort that might make it easier to offer me a free (or even just discounted) replacement than continue to double down on their mistake. Even just trying would take a couple of days to recover from the effort and stress of it. As it is, I've been wiped out all afternoon just from going in and basically being told it's my fault for not noticing their mistake. The person at the till did apologise but I will certainly think twice before shopping here again, if I have any alternative at all. I used to love Waterstones but this has really left a bad taste.

Lovely branch of Waterstones with very helpful staff. Just wish dogs weren't allowed inside, as I'm asthmatic and allergic to dogs.

I called to see if the book I wanted was in stock. The lady I spoke to offered to put it by for me to collect as I was a distance away. Staff at Waterstones are always extremely helpful. They’re obviously recruited with care. When I collected the book the lady was friendly and knowledgeable.

Staff are knowledgeable and helpful, easy to request orders for products you want or if things are out of stock. Small section of interesting board games and reading related gifts/ parephenalia. Small children's section, extensive fiction selection. Never feel rushed when browsing. Very cool selection of maps :)

We walked in the shop and she was on me and my adhd cousins case.Then as she was sat on the floor and was reading a Harry Potter book and she walked over to us and said the children could not open the books so we went ok then she said we need the spines in perfect condition for those who WANT to buy them.Would not advise to go there with children with any children as they don’t like them🙂I believe her name was cloe tillstun

Have used this branch several times and even though a small shop in comparison to their others, they have a good selection and the staff are amazing. Extremely helpful, informative and welcoming.

Small store, only 1 of several titles. Most surprising for a university town! Needs a bigger store to compete with the 3 or 4 second hand bookshops here.

Amazing place for many trading cards games, offers variety of packs and also singles. I found many good Digimon cards for me. Prices are very good and fair, and the service is perfect. Will be back for sure :)

You local depot for all things hobby from Warhammer to Pokémon cards and the occasional weekly meetups for PvP cards . Def a saving grace for me

We visited this shop a couple of times and the owner was full of helpful suggestions and comments. You can buy dice, booster packs, Magic the Gathering cards, boardgames, Yu-Gi-Oh, Warhammer paints and models, D&D minis… plus they have events nearly every evening of the week such as game nights.

Great communication and experience all around purchasing from here. Thank you again!

My kind of store was well laid out and I was in heaven. A bonus was that my two dogs were welcome in the store. Being a lone visitor, this is a massive thumbs up for me. Love to shop in stars there is such a good variety of beautiful items. From jewelry to crystals and lots of nice incense sticks and burners. Colourful clothing hats and novelty items to. Lots to look at lots to buy at decent prices. Pop in the staff are lovely and helpful and can answer a lot of questions about their stock. Ive had a few bits and pieces over the years.

Lovely little shop. Awesome selection of items. I would describe this shop as a hippie shop, full of beautifully unique and exciting items aswell as some more common bits. We (my family and me) must have visited this shop at least 5 times during our stay. Great variety, great prices and lovely staff kept drawing us back in.

This is like a Diagon Alley bookshop. Its rickety in the most interesting way, it has incredibly old books plus new signed books. My son just grabs an empty box when he visits as he always finds do much to interest him. There are so many different rooms and books on any subject you can think of. Wonderful

This shop is amazing. I know you might be thinking, "but I know a book store, it was pretty good..." it doesn't have anything on this place. It had all the charming traits of a good book store 1) floor to ceiling books 2)books covering every possible surface 3)books on every possible subject 4) looks like it was someone's house before it overflowed with so many books that they had to start selling them to make room for more books 5) a knowledgeable man who seemed to have an acute knowledge of the obscure field that your looking for and more importantly, where the books you need are 6) it smells like books 7) very very reasonably priced, not that this matters as anyone who is a book lover knows, low prices just means you end up buying more. Really recommend!

Rude staff, told me they were too busy counting another order to serve me. It was a simple clection that was on the counter behind them. Td to wait as they had 38 items to count and it took all of the available staff to do it, not enough fingers I'm guessing for one person.

First time in Argos for 8 years. So I picked up my item I’d ordered online then thought maybe I’d get a cd boombox. Just wanted to listen to it, but instead got a lecture from the manager on why it would be tinny and better off getting a Sony or whatever instead of “sorry we can’t do that”. Who buys a hifi without listening to it? It was £30, which isn’t as much to me as it might be to most other people, but I don’t want to lug it home, only to then take it back the next day. I don’t think I’ll go back ever really after this experience. Shame, used to be a good store.

Picked up s shower that was missing a shower head. the staff at Aberystwyth were excellent in helping find a solution without having to return the whole item. I was able to get it fitted as planned with no need to arrange another installation date. Much better than online customer service who were really not helpful.

I had an absolutely horrific experience with the manager Damien, who is aggressive and rude. He judged me completely based on my age and appearance. Well he got me completely wrong. I had brought in a return, I had spoken with Argos live chat, who promised me a refund on a faulty item. I took a copy of this chat and a receipt with me. I was refused a refund, I was accused of lying and degraded publicly based on my appearance. I saw and heard him and the sales assistant talking about me before I have even come in with the item and explained. Absolutely shocking. I will be writing a formal complaint to head office, and will no longer shop with Argos.

I bought a phone, delivered next day, excellent service. However it was faulty and Ryan at Customer Services helped me. He was excellent too. Argos picked the faulty phone up from me the same day and I am about to order a different one. Would not hesitate to recommend them.

Excellent customer service. Brilliant staff, always found them extremely helpful and friendly. I recommend taking product cover for important items. No quibble replacement on items covered. Although the best way to shop is to reserve items online. That way you can check stock, look for the best price available, reserve, pay and avoid wasting time in store. Just straight to the collection bay. Smart shopping.

Worst bookshop I've ever been to. My wife and I walked in last month when we were briefly visiting Aberystwyth. The man behind the till seemed interested and unapproachable. There was a lady downstairs doing a live stream on TikTok, and to ask her a question I had to go onto TikTok, find the live stream, ask my question (even though I'm standing in the same room) and she couldn't even answer me about a certain type of book I was looking for. My wife bought 3 books, which took forever the till, and the man definitely needs to work on his customer service skills.

I've been following this bookshop on TikTok and while on holiday in Wales, couldn't resist going there. Lovely place, friendly, enthusiastic,, with time to talk. A shop with both new and second hand books, also online sales, a place to stay for hours. For me the number one!

Amazing bookstore! I stumbled across on a holiday to Wales and the lady was so pleasant and inviting. The shop had a lovely welcoming atmosphere and absolutely loved blind date with a book. Reading the blind date book now and I love it it was like a surprise gift to myself. I'm now hunting around my local area for something similar but no luck so far! If I lived closer I'd def be a regular. Thank you!

One of my favourite independent food shops, also cheaper than supermarkets . All the fresh vegetables I need (not all in plastic), every spice I'm looking for, pulses, best short grain brown rice, big bags of oats, good flour, nut butters etc. You can whizz around in minutes, and leave feeling inspired to cook!

A wonderful shop with a range of produce that always leaves you feline fine.

Wide range of organic products. I get my baking supplies here: flour, baking powder, eggs etc. Also household items such as shampoo and washing up liquid are sold here.

I bought 3 items on my way through. 1 Cheese 2 Tempeh Later that day I discovered all of it was moldy. So be careful with your choice

Fantastic health food shop great range of vegetarian and vegan foods and absolutely fantastic spice selection in the back room at unbelievable prices! Highly recommended
