The 22 best shopping and stores in Conwy

Had a walk through this compact indoor shopping centre while on a day trip to Llandudno. It's a clean and attractive space with an eye-catching wooden and glass ceiling and quaint lanterns. Easy to access from the main shopping street, and all on one level. There's an excellent variety of shops, ranging from high street names such as Boots Chemist, Body Shop, Pavers Shoes, Roman and Grape Tree, to small local retailers selling clothes, jewellery, toys, gifts, bedding and lots more, as well as a café and takeaways. It was a refreshing change not to see any empty units or closing down sales. Enjoyed browsing around Waterstones; they have a great selection of books and an upstairs café. The Tourist Information Office is also in the shopping centre, something I found very useful, and there's a photo booth right next to it. There's seating, and a lift up to free toilets and a multi-storey car park. Did not buy anything on this all too brief visit, but I liked what I saw and will come here again when I return to Llandudno.

Walked in as it looked like it had more boutique shops & it turned out to be so. Visitors Centre gift shop is here & The Longest Yarn to commemorate the 100th anniversary of end of WW1 is on display here too. The mammoth knit/crochet effort is a great tribute & definitely worth viewing. Shopping centre has the provincial feel & charm.

A lovely, well-kept, small rustic shopping centre on Llandudno high street. Hosts a good range of shops and has ample seating for older age groups. Also has two cafes, which makes it a nice place to grab a coffee and a bite to eat. Has an adjoining car park.

A very nice clean shopping centre with a great arrangement of shops i really enjoy the art shop at the entrance and they have a great sweet shop here. I also find that this is where we end up parking after driving around town trying to park. So I will definitely recommend everyone going straight here for parking has vechicle very safe, very cheap prices and great views from the top carpark

Good sized bays, seemed to be plenty of parking, it is on top of the shopping center so ramps up and down. Prices reasonable. Only could see 1 lift which seemed very busy.

A bit of an odd one this place, but handy for toilets and parking. Good for cafes and the usual arcade type shops with a sprinkle of independents.

Fantastic shop offering real superb toys. Bought pink mouse push along for our 1 year old granddaughter ,lovely toy, but missing a part. Lady in shop lovely and helpful when phoned her from West Yorkshire. Contacted supplier who sent missing piece directly to us with a further gift of a lovely pink mouse puzzle ! Lovely, and wonderful proper customer service. Would highly recommend this traditional shop to anyone living in North Wales, or anyone holidaying there. You will not be disappointed!

Beautiful independent shop, friendly staff, selling a thoughtful selection of modern-traditional style toys which are reasonably priced. Impressed to see that they stock Lottie doll and Le Toy Van items. I used to visit this shop as a girl, and now enjoy taking my own little girls to it all these years later!

Great selection of toys at competitive prizes. Lots of Greta brands such as jellycat and Lanka kade. Bought a toy sword for £2 which has provided hours of fun

Fantastic toy shop. I have bought all 4 of my children to this shop over the past 16 years or so and every visit has been a real pleasure for all. Traditional, quality toys and something to suit all pockets. Can't wait to pop in again!

We bought the traditional sausage roll, dragon scotch egg and a turkey and cranberry pie, and every item tasted amazing. The dragon scotch egg was the winner, yet all the other items were also high quality and packed with flavour. The service here is also super friendly and I’d recommend a visit to Edwards if you’re in Conwy.

When visiting Cowny, we stopped by as everything looked so delicious and bought a cranberry turkey pie, a stilton cheese pie and a dragon scotch egg. Everything was so tasty. The pie pastry was absolutely delicious. Everything was really nice but my favourite was the cranberry turkey pie, it was amazing

Fantastic butchers. We bought steaks, kebabs, hunters and Stilton pies and all were excellent. They provided ice packing for us to keep meat cool for our 6hr journey and the meat certainly was still cold when we arrived home. Oh and the Breakfast Baps are amazing. It’s a must visit if you are in Conwy.

We always call into this shop when visiting Conway to buy their freshly made ham/beef barms. Excellent quality food as always. Highly recommended to anyone. The best leek and potato soup in the world.

Fantastic butcher shop with a good selection of meats, take and back meals, and pastries. We tried a variety of items and everything was fantastic. Some of the best meatballs I've ever had. Highly recommend.

My meat arrived a few days after ordering. Had the Firecracker sausage tonight. Well!! They were so delicious....6 all together. I don't like spicy food but, these just had a little kick of chilli in them. Had 2 each as they were a decent size and hubby taking other 2 to work for lunch with caramelised onion chutney for lunch. Cannot wait to try the rest of my order. I will be ordering again in a few weeks.

My son brought me a sausage roll from this shop. It's the best sausage roll I've ever had. Greggs doesn't even come close.........

Great little place to visit if you're already in Conwy. There's not a huge amount to see so I wouldn't make a special trip, but the house is very characterful and the staff we met were amazing.

This is a free to visit property. It is signposted as a bookshop but at the back of the shop is a door that takes you upstairs. There isn't much to see as they took all the furniture out during COVID pandemic. It's now used as a community space. It's a short visit maybe 15 mins ay most. They do stamp the national trust passport.

Interesting old merchants house. Reasonable prices ticket if you aren't in the National Trust

A medieval town house steeped in history and full of atmosphere. The rooms are dark and the wooden floors are visibly sloping on the timber-framed upper storey. You need to be aware of low wooden beams and raised thresholds. Each room has furniture and artefacts from a different period of history. I found the kitchen with its curious hanging bread crate particularly fascinating. The guides were welcoming, enthusiastic and a mine of information and the printed info gave me an insight into the lives of the people who lived here in past centuries. The ground floor shop has some beautiful gifts/souvenirs and good books. Well worth a visit!

Pretty interesting old house. It is very small but a no brainer if you’re a member of the national trust which we are. I can’t comment on the value of you have to pay. They had an activity for the kids and there were volunteers in almost every room ready to tell you about the place.

This is a very interesting historic building with lots of potential for visitors. The room guide on the middle floor was charming and provided some good insights into the history. Her efforts were the real highlight, though, in a National Trust site that feels a bit neglected and could do a lot more with a bit more resource. There is very little information within the historic rooms, so there's little to keep you here, and no audio guide. Conpared with Plas Mawr (a bigger building, granted, but also shown off to its full potential), this seems a bit under-resourced. Some investment in research into the property, an audio guide and more coherent way of showing the rooms could make this really special. There's a really good shop in the basement which seemed the most popular area on our visit!

Fabulous and small National Trust property, well worth the visit. Remember to pop and see the toll house too, a family of 6 once lived in the tiny miniature castle right by the suspension bridge.

This is not really a visitor centre as such, but a shop crammed with gifts and souvenirs. You'll find the usual touristy stuff that you can find anywhere, but also some decent quality crafts and more unusual items such as crystals, seashells, ornaments made of Welsh slate, and jewellery, in an interesting old building that used to be a school. There's a room full of clothes, bags and fashion accessories, and a small gallery with some nice pictures of local scenes. You could book guided tours of the castle and town here, but there were no leaflets or general information about Conwy. The lady behind the counter was helpful and friendly enough, and gave me directions to the harbour and the nearest public toilets (there are no toilets here). If you want to shop for some nice gifts, this place is worth a visit; but if it's tourist information or advice that you need, you'll have to walk a bit further down Rose Hill Street towards Castle Square, and you'll find the Tourist Information Centre on your left.

Not actually a visitor center (like the sign says), but a show with a huge variety of souvenirs. If you were looking for a si for pace with a large selection, this would be it. I was on the hunt for a magnet and was able to find one I liked. I appreciated where tags and signage identified welsh products.

Conway Visitors Centre is a must-visit destination for tourists and locals alike. It is an excellent place to learn about the history and culture of the town of Conway, as well as to pick up some unique and interesting gifts. ♥️

If you forget your face mask and ask for one, they will provide you with a disposable one and charge you 50p for the pleasure. Considering local businesses have received funding from the Welsh government (tax-payers money) to stay afloat, and also to provide a safe retail environment for customers, I'm almost lost for words.

Llandudno is a lovely seaside town in North Wales. We are lucky to live just down the road in Penrhyn bay. We normally travel far and wide around Europe, but after bilateral knee surgery I can not drive for a few months. So making the most of our local area. Fantastic place to visit for Any age group. I will give my assessment and finding right now. Firstly if you are of age there are very few public toilets availaby (fact) the ones that are are grubby and in desperate need of general maintainance this can be said for all the towns along the North Wales coast. This is simply not good enough especially for the old and inferm. When you do find one it costs an arm and a leg. Secondly if you own a motorhome forget comming to North Wales at all. They have no understanding of what the true motorhome owner requires or needs. We have not found any dedicated motorhome parking spaces anywhere along the North Wales coast. Even though motorhomes travel around the whole 52 weeks of the year. Councils are missing out on revenue for not setting up Aires to park, wash out, fill up with clean water and move on to the next town. If your a true motorhome owner do what we do and hundreds of our fellow traveler's go straight to a ferry and head into Europe where you are looked after and wanted to help with touisum. Total hassle free in Europe and works out at quarter of the cost of staying in the Uk. With Wales being the biggest RIp off . They want money for nothing.

Parking fine is very unfair whether you go over time slightly or much. It punishes you for shopping at the site for too long (go figure) + no option to pay for longer. READ THE FINE PRINT ON THE SIGNS. Yes, their charges are legal. Tourists to the area, don't get caught out.

Parked here yesterday during the firework display and was absolutely bedlam trying to get out! Was stuck in gridlock for over an hour! But it was free parking and the fireworks were very good

I used to love shopping here and still do but be assured I will not be parking there ever again. I just got a 100 pound fine for leaving late, I was in the McDonald’s after shopping so had actually moved from my parking bay. Due to the camera taking my picture on the entrance and exit it didn’t register me moving to McDonald’s car park which is separate! This should be a pay and display to begin with considering how busy it’s gets, taking 20 mins queuing to even exit sometimes as well as long ques and busy shops!! Absolutely shocking on them, that charge is extortionate, every car park I’ve ever been to max is 60 and reduced is 25. Avoid parking here if you want a long day out shopping and lunch, it will cost you more than you want.

Great retail park, loads of good shops big name brands, plenty of parking 👍.

A shopping centre just on the edge of Llandudno with most big named outlets on site and a Macdonald's if you get hungry I wish it was burger king much nicer burger there is also BQ Halfords Argos Aldi smiths toy story Currys and more and Craig y don. Just up the road

A gorgeous little gallery, we always pop in when we're in Conwy. The exhibitions change really regularly, so there's always something new, and their open is great. The shop is cute, with art supplies, cards and gifts on sale.

I last visited the Royal Cambrian Academy a couple of years ago. I was delighted to find on this visit that the shop and reception area had been given a make over. Very professional looking. The three exhibitions that were showing contrasted, celebrated local art and were very interesting. I bought two pieces which I am very pleased with. Staff were friendly and professional. Whilst I was there I could see a class of young children undergoing some form of education in a side gallery, which is great to see. All in all a really pleasant and thought provoking visit. Will visit again when in the area.

I'm biased, being a member - but this gallery really is one of Conwy's best kept secrets. If you are interested in contemporary Welsh art, do visit. There's always a lively exhibition in the interesting building (with a stunning view over Conwy's roof-tops from the landing). There's a warm welcome from friendly staff and a nice gift shop.

What a fantastic place, slightly hidden off the main street in Conwy. The gallery space is beautiful, with all works on show available to purchase with a payment plan. There is a small gift shop too and lots of events and classes available. Accessibility is good, with a lift available.

Excellent extensive display of high quality artworks, mainly paintings plus some sculpture plus a very nice shop with prints cards and crafts.

Visited the Academy today to view the current Keith Gardner exhibition. Keith has been a member of the Academy for many years and I have known him for 63 years. Many splendid paintings of the North Wales coast. I would certainly recommend a visit to this excellent gallery to view his work. I still have a portrait he painted of me 62 years ago.

The gallery of the Royal Cambrian Academy exhibits the work of its members. Practicing artists from throughout Wales form the membership and they are invited to exhibit at times collectively and also individually. It has two main gallery spaces a small one on the ground floor and a more expansive space upstairs. The members are a diverse group of artists and this is reflected in the varied interesting and exhibitions that are put on which change on a regular basis. The quality of the work is generally of a high standard and is well worth a visit.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Amazing find! Really impressed with the range here—and surprisingly well-priced too! My little one’s a huge Lord of the Rings fan and was buzzing to find a replica of the One Ring from the films (see photo). For Only £19.99 I was shocked at! I would have happily of paid more.

Great online choice, I’ve got a cart full waiting for spare money after payday. We managed to drop in to the physical shop. Great to see the swords and other bits in person, really friendly staff would be more regular visitor if I lived closer. Dog friendly too, my cocker loves the sword we bought him

Having a day out with my wife in Conwy when we come across this wonderful shop ( THE KNIGHT SHOP ) I have never seen anything like it before. so we popped in to take a walk round. the swords on display where Amazing along with all the miniatures .so much to see so very well display . we asked the lady who was working in the shop if it was OK to take photos and she was happy for anyone to take them . with no obligation to buy anything I really recommend this shop well worth a visit if in the area.

What a great place to come after spending some time in the castle. I can highly recommend coming and picking up a little souvenir or some knight equipment for the kids.

Great place to get your Knight stuff!!..... Looks like a specialist in swords, daggers and suits of armour all on sale. Good for a quick visit. Some really fab items if that's your thing. Didn't try the local mead on offer and wished I did.... Looks like the staff know their stuff. View of the castle from outside the shop door..... Have a few gifts for kids in the shape of dressing up gear, plastic swords and shields...

This place is great. They have loads of stock in store and even more online. Staff are super friendly and helpful. I would have given this a 5-star review, but the lack of parking nearby makes it problematic, especially if you are disabled. Otherwise it is a Great little place with amazing views of the nearby castle.

I/We had wanted to visit Baravelli's for a long time, and our visit certainly did not disappoint. It was great to meet Mark & Emma in person they are very nice and very approachable. Their chocolate is in another league, even Fortnum & Mason have serious competition here. We will definitely be back next time we are in Conwy.

Fantastic little shop, the owners are both very friendly and informative with great product knowledge. Went there last year whilst on holiday & made a point of going again whilst I was in Conwy, highly recommend any true chocolate lover visiting this shop as you certainly won’t be disappointed.

Absolutely delicious chocolate! The shop was small but lovely, and there were so many unique flavors. The shipowners were such a delight to talk to as well, and offered great recommendations when we couldn't decide. This shop is a hidden gem with some of the highest quality and most flavorful chocolates we've ever had!

Became aware of this little shop through a local TV show, so taking the opportunity whilst a day out on the Welsh Coast thought we would pop in and check it out, only words I can describe is stunning, if your a chocolate fan this place is a must, there was a large variety of choice on display, from single chocolate packets to personal boxes, various prices to suite every budget, the owners are a lovely very informative and discovered looking around the store some high profile customers.

Simply put, this is a chocolate lovers dream. Take your bank card with you when you do visit, you're gonna need it. Friendly and very knowledgeable owners will help you but ultimately, Baravelli's is all about the tasting. Enjoy.

We selected 12 individual truffles and chocolates to be boxed up, and every single one was not only absolutely delicious to but also looked as good as it tasted. There are skilled chocolatiers at work here. The bars and other chocolates on the shelves also looked amazing. Could have bought any number of things in here.

Took me 10 minutes to find the perfect summer dress, and adorable cardigan and my favorite raincoat I own (it’s the only raincoat I own, but still). They had my sizes in everything, which I wasn’t sure they’d carry but easily found size 14/16 in all the lovely options!

Fat Face, Conwy. I had to return one of two dresses purchased online as it wasn't quite the fit I wanted. The Conwy store was well set out, neat, clean and tidy, and it smelled lovely too! Service was excellent. My return was dealt with efficiently; I was able to exchange my item for a dress in the sale which I picked up in store. Highly recommend 🙂

Great little retro/ nostalgic shop... Nice selection. I always make a point of dropping in when near by.... Even though I live 180 miles away, its worth making a point of doing so. Only thing I wished was that they,d put the size armpit to armpit on the description of each garment, so I knew if they fit, as the choice of makes are completely different on the label sizes.... It would help alot online and I believe more people would buy... I know I would definitely . Thanks.

We found it very expensive, lots of kids toys and very cluttered, lady working was very pleasant and helpful.

I felt very unsettled with how unpleasant the woman at the counter was, who although I luckily didn't deal with myself, I heard being really hostile to another customer who had just asked a simple question, with this woman then jumping at her with such hostility, trying to intimidate her with a whole "Oh you think just because you're from England..." speech. This was most unpleasant and such a hostile, bullying attitude should not be allowed in customer service, especially to people who have come on holiday to enjoy themselves. I walked out straight away because it unsettled me having been exposed to such a toxic environment.

If you buy a newton's cradle here you'd first better make it's not already tangled. You will not get a refund or exchange. I cannot believe they would call my son a liar to his face. That is some commitment to the bottom line.

The woman in the shop was extremely rude! If you have a medical exemption and do not have a mask, she will question you even though it's against the law. If it wasn't for my son wanting something from her shop I wouldn't have given her my money. If she hates the public she shouldn't own a shop

I called into this store on 13th September to purchase 2 tall tealight holders @ £15 each, when they were brought to the counter the "hand written" label said they were "set of 3 for £30" so i said I would purchase 3 only to be told that was incorrect I disputed this only to be told by the manageress to "disappear" not quite what I was expecting from such an upmarket store, so just be warned appearances can be deceptive.

Have been going for years can always purchase for every occasion highly recommend and wonderful friendly management

Waited for 20 minutes to be served despite one person only purchasing an Xbox was in front of us. 0 apology for the wait. 5 empty checkouts with no staff serving along the rest of the counter. Very unfriendly and unapologetic member of staff on the till. Very poor experience.

Queued for ages at the one open till. Eventually someone must have shown some common sense and they opened another till. However they told the customers from the back of the queue to go to this till! Ridiculous. When we were eventually served the cashier kept glaring at me and spoke in a very abrupt rude way. Stared at me then rolled her eyes when I said “yes please” when she asked whether we needed a carrier bag. I am always really polite to everyone so it was a shock to encounter someone so hostile from the get go.

I went in to collect a click and collect, im an autistic teenager with severe social anxiety so i go absolutley everywhere with my hood up, but I got accused of stealing by the security guard before I even went into the store properly just because of my hood. I took it down when asked and it made me even more nervous to be in there alone. I went to look at a few things around the store including what id come to pick up. I couldn't see any exit point but I saw a family go through the exit which the security opened for them so I thought I could go out that way too, on my way out, I got accused of stealing again and asked if id paid, even though the security could clearly see the click and collect stickers on the bottom of my things. I wont ever come here again, security needs to be retrained.

Very disappointed with my most recent visit to the store today (3/1/23) Initially very impressed after making numerous visits to the brand new Wrexham store and spent alot of money there before Christmas with no issues, plenty of staff around always happy and willing to help out with anything at all. Seems to have changed significantly now Christmas is over as I struggled to find a member of staff to help with an item on a high shelf and was ignored by 3 members of staff when I approached the desk area who were more interested in chatting about their weekend antics for all to hear. Unfortunately because of this I left the store without the items I wanted to purchase and have now purchased them elsewhere.

Keep cancelling pre ordered items on release day, just don't take payment for items that the store doesn't have

This is a brilliant little shop run by a couple who are extremely knowledgeable about their items. I always get offered a fair price for my items and I love buying stuff from there which isn’t the normal shite you find on the high street. My family and myself visit this shop on a regular basis and are always treated with respect and most importantly a smile! Keep up the good work guys 👍x

Thieves - offered 30% of the true price for gold and tried to explain they need to make a profit!! Became aggressive when I challenged and thank goodness, I knew the price of gold. I wasn’t averse to a ‘fair’ valuation but they decided to value there and then at a disgusting price. The woman in particular is very aggressive. DO NOT EVER SELL GOLD/SILVER TO THIS BUSINESS.

Called here this Mon lunch time, plenty of stock to peruse and the proprietor is interesting to talk to. There was a very good example of a Malacca Indian silver topped walking cane in here, not a half hour later I saw a Gentleman sporting the very same cane down the street.

I bought a lovely Beatrix potter piece Little Timmy … had a nice chat with the guy about the Chucky doll he had in the shop which we had a laugh over .. lots of verry interesting things I would have liked to spent more time looking around but hubbie was waiting outside with dogs .. well worth a visit..

Do not visit ! Spoken down to by an extremely snotty woman. I am medically exempt from wearing a mask and do not have to justify this to anyone especially an arrogant shop assistant and don’t expect to be spoken to like a child about it. Items are very overpriced. I was about to take a picture of an item I wanted to go home and research before I committed to purchasing ( due to pricing concerns ) and was snapped at “no pictures” this is not signed or if it is its not openly visible when your in the shop. No manners, very impolite. I suggest you don’t judge someone on their appearance weather they are a genuine antique collector or not. Whilst in the shop for a very short while i could hear the women completely lying to another customer about the rarity of an item and trying to justify the extortionate price tag. maybe that’s how they make their money, by conning tourists. If you do visit make sure you think very carefully about the price they are charging before buying. But I strongly suggest you steer clear !!! I pride myself on honest reviews based on personal experience which is clear to see when you read all reviews left for many places.

A lovely gem of a shop ! We got a quirky little perpetual calander and a lovely Bakerlite bookcase. We had a really nice chat with the owners too. People’s comments about pricing are not something I understand. Some items have years of history and to me their value isn’t just the price tag, it’s wondering who owned it previously, where it’s been and where it will go next. So if I am happy to pay a price then I will, if I think it’s too expensive then I won’t - simple really.

My partner (now Fiancé 🥰) and I came across this shop on our break away in Wales and he brought my engagement ring from here! The lady was very helpful and knowledgeable about the ring and it’s now going to be a place we visit every time we come to Conwy!

Struggling to get my clock back. Left my fathers vintage brass clock here for a service 4 months ago. Modified review. Eventually got my clock back but had to send someone down early on a Monday morning to get it in person. Slightly higher price than original estimate but clock is working fine and improved timekeeping Upgraded to 3 stars. Pays your money and take your chance

Unfortunately it wasn't open this Monday afternoon, but there is a telephone number pinned on the door to call. Peering through the window this appears to be a proper antique shop which sells more than just clocks.

Was recommended to go here today to have a valuation on a clock. Checked the Web site...open until 4.30pm...travelled quite some distance only to find, at 2 pm, the shop was closed. Rang and spoke to the owner explaining the purpose of our journey only to be told he'd closed early to go shopping. No apology....very dissapointing.

We visited the shop when on our Cruise of the Islands back in June of 2022. Tel Ted was kind enough to direct us to a Jewelry store in town to find a battery for my wife’s watch. Thank you again Sir…

We meet a very nice elderly Welsh man who told us that his two brothers migrated to Australia and whilst his mother had come out to Australia he had not. I thought he was a real gem. What we call a "nice bloke" We saw a miniature antique French clock (it had inscribed made in France) and 19 jewels (inscribed) and bought it. Back home in Australia we found the key to wind up the clock did not fit (the clock was going when we bought it) and when we went to our clock maker he identified the the clock was made in India and had only 11 jewels. Sad that you can't trust a Welsh clock maker in Conwy. He saw us coming!

I found the Owner to be a very nice Gentleman with time to Chat to potential Customers even if your not spending Money,I bought a Clock from him and am delighted with it from a Happy Irish Customer.

Ugh, this place reeked of cigarettes, as if someone smokes inside. I couldn't stay there for a minute.
