Daisen Park is a spacious and lush green park located in Sakai City, offering a tranquil atmosphere with its abundance of trees and serene pond. This park exudes traditional Japanese style, boasting beautiful bridges, verandas, and gazebos that are artfully designed to complement the surrounding nature. It is highly recommended to visit on sunny afternoons to capture stunning photos while wandering around the gardens. During springtime when Sakura blooms, the park provides an unforgettable experience for visitors seeking natural beauty.
Went there on rainy day (Mar 28), it was still beautiful, relaxing. The park itself was not too large to walk on foot. We were there when sakura trees, well, most of them, were still in early stage with thousands of buds were waiting to fully bloom. Coffee shops and toilettes were available.

Daisen Park in Sakai City, Osaka is a comprehensive urban park that was developed as a historical and cultural landmark in postwar reconstruction plans. Located between the tombs of Emperor Nintoku and Emperor Liqiu, one of the world's largest tombs, it is part of the Mozu Tombs, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Went on the Sunday morning, was told admission was free. Beautiful area to relax and get some matcha. If you want to get away from Osaka city for a bit, this is the place.
Khiem D — Google review
One of the most beautiful parks that I have visited in Osaka. Daisen Park is vast and has plenty of spots worth taking photos of. I love the Japanese Garden and the pond area. Given the chance, I would bring my parents here in the future.

Amazing public park. I went for a run close to sunset. There is a lot of space, and lush greenery around. Watching the Sakai City balloon go up is a feast for the eyes :) Next time I go early morning, I'm sure the vibe is as exciting as near the evening.

amazing i loved it here. if you walk further enough, you’ll find a hidden cafe that does the best matcha! have already gotten back from my trip and it’s still the yummiest i’ve ever had

Went there on a monday, some areas of the park are closed but still enjoyed walking around and watched locals fishing and playing board games. The best park in this part of osaka. If communing with nature is your bet, recharge and be calmed by this park.

Hamadera Park is a spacious and popular park that boasts a rose garden, spring cherry blossoms, swimming pools, and playgrounds. It offers an ideal location for hiking, cycling or spending time with family and friends. Although the park extends to the other side of the waterway on its west side, it's not particularly interesting except for seating areas by the water during special events such as rowing races or fireworks displays.
Amazing park, wide open spaces, water play, playgrounds, slides and more slides, greenery, rose garden, traffic park and BBQ area. Great for the whole family. Happy Greenery Day in Japan today!!

Nice chill place with big tall trees. Spacious! Has trains and go kart there. We went there as a bonus activity while on the way to Kansai Airport. The go karts were slow but fun for the little ones! 4 years and older have to get a ticket, younger ones are free.

The Sakai City Museum offers a charming experience with four galleries showcasing the full history of Sakai. The museum's main attraction is the Mozu Tomb Mounds Cluster exhibit, which features concise yet informative English labels and annotations. Other galleries lack English support but offer interesting exhibits nonetheless. Visitors can also enjoy an educational VR headset experience of the kofun for an added fee, which provides a good sense of scale without overblown 3D antics. Friendly staff are accommodating to English-speaking visitors.
This lovely museum is situated amongst the greenery of Daisen Park, just a short walk, maybe 3 to 5 minutes from the Tourist Center for the Mozu Tombs World Heritage Center. It has a lot of English descriptions for the front part of the museum, but in the exhibition, you will need a translation app. The opening video when you come in really helps set the historical stage of why the kofuns were built as Japan, or Was as it was known then, became a bigger player in the South East Asian community.
Hayley P — Google review
Existed since 1980 here in Daisen Park, Sakai City Museum basically collect, preserve and exhibit materials related to Sakai City's history, art, archeology and folklore. The permanent exhibition here gives you a sense of the city's long history, including artifacts from the Kofun period. Admission fee is ¥200, and I think its worth it to get a close up of what they have to offer.
Andrew A — Google review
Visited the museum on the recommendation from someone i met on the subway. The staff was incredibly kind. They have an audio guide that comes in multiple languages and was very informative and well presented. Well worth the trip out to the beautiful park and museum.
Matthew G — Google review
I visited this museum on February 2, 2024. I saw some mixed reviews about the museum before I went, but I decided to visit anyway. I really enjoyed my visit! To me, it was really special to be near the konfun, and see some of the artifacts rescued through excavations over the years. The exhibitions gave me a totally different understanding of how the konfun looked originally, and how they were used as ceremonial sites. It's obviously not a major museum of Japan, but I really appreciated what they are able to do for visitors. I think I spent about 1.5 hours looking at the artifacts, and I imagined that I would have spent about 45 minutes when I was entering. So, go visit this museum; they do a great job!
R W — Google review
Small but interesting little museum near the burial mounds visitor center. Offers a great mix of things for a very low price of 200 yen, including a samurai armour, a cool video show about the area including English subtitles, and a lot of background on the burials and their construction. Also great for random knowledge, like why the historic figure Nobunaga was afraid of a tree. Worth a short visit if you are in the area!
Malte B — Google review
Very informative museum about the history and development of Sakai city and the various kofuns. I recommend to watch the free film before viewing the exibition as the film will provide bit an overview of the building, developing, discovering of the kofuns.
Luyu P — Google review
Beautiful little museum. Very local. Don't miss the 3D presentation at the info center.
Elad F — Google review
Definitely worth the price of admission - 200 yen. You can learn a lot about Japanese and Sakai history, especially about the kofun burial mounds. Don't leave without catching the short documentary they play in the theater room.

Harvest Hill is a charming agricultural park that offers a hands-on experience with nature and farming. It resembles a lively village celebrating the harvest season, featuring an array of fresh farm products and engaging activities. Visitors can participate in crop harvesting throughout the seasons, try their hand at crafting gourmet goods, and partake in various events. The park also boasts a farmer's market offering fresh produce from Sakai, a barbecue house, an animal petting area, and a lively plaza.
About an hour journey from central Osaka, you will need to take a bus in from the nearest location. The bus does not have high frequency so do check for timings in advance! Most are an hour interval. Really nice view and good to visit when the weather is great, there was not many people when we visited so the entire experience was chill and fun! Quite pricey to be honest, we spent 1500 per pax for entrance tickets, then we did activities which were around 400-800 each and lastly melon pan making workshop that we had booked in advance on their website.
Ella — Google review
1500 yen entrance fee to the park. then more additional entrance fee to the different booths inside. the bridge has a lot of flies hovering above it and can be quite disturbing. the flies were scarier than the height of the bridge even
H — Google review
We visited this animal bio-park kind of place on recommendation. The park isnlarge and spacious with great views, and tons of animals that you can interact with! Price is about 1500円 per adult, cheaper for children. We went around and took pics with capybaras, which we could pet and feed ans were super friendly. We also visited the insect and reptile area which was even more fun! Holding Hercules beetles and all kinds of reptiles was fun, including getting shocked by an electric eel! The staff were all friendly and knowledgeable, and the facilities were clean and well maintained. The food court pizza was also quite good. I would definitely recommend anyone to visit if they like animals :)
Andrew K — Google review
Once again I added a spot with green space in my family trip, as I lived in a city where skyscrapers is what you see. The metro and JR brought me to Izumigaoka from Osaka, then I go for the taxi to this park. There are plenty of colourful flower fields which are well maintained. It seems they are seasonal, so I believe if you come in spring and summer you can see a different picture. We tried some excitement first, go-kart and grass sliding are great fun for kids. There is a dining hall for lunch, which looks so much like the beer hall in Oktoberfest. After crossing the bridge, here comes the swan paddling boat. Then feeding sessions of capybara and sheep. Please pay attention to the time as animals have strict rest time when interaction is not available. We were disappointed when we found out the horse riding was suspended, but the sunset view in the park worths everything.
Lap P — Google review
In Harvest Hill there are paid games such as Sylvanian Family, Dinosaurs, Bucket Slides, Carousels, Funny Bikes, Go-Karts, Train Rides Around Harvest Hill, Swan Rides on the Lake, etc. There are farms, capybaras, sheep, horses, cows, etc. The free ones are flower gardens, tulips in spring, sunflowers in summer, and there is a fountain for children in summer. There is a food court, lots of chairs. There is a bakery, food car. There is a souvenir shop and a shop that makes its own souvenirs. there is a big supermarket opposite the harvest hill entrance, very close to the bus stop
Spongi — Google review
It’s a great place for children! There’s lots of activities for children such as karting, petting zoos, and digging. Capybara feeding is the main attraction though.
Elijah A — Google review
Family friendly park which would be great for families or couples, flowers are seasonal (I went in February) so make sure to plan ahead if you’re there for flowers. But there are also many other attractions to do and see. I really love animals so that was the main attraction for me but there is also mini go karting, hill sliding, duck boats and several other activities. A lot of small shops around the park for souvenirs, food & beverage. Definitely a nice place to go with family and children.
Kuan-Yu C — Google review
Entry fees was 2000 yen for each person and it doesn't including the price for the game in Harvest Hill. If you want to play something you need to pay extra. And, note that the flowers are not blooms in every season. We went on October and there wasn't flowers.

The Old Sakai Lighthouse, constructed in the year 1877 using wood, has now become a favored spot for photography and enjoying sunsets. Located in a peaceful harbor, visitors can indulge in leisure activities like running or having barbecues by the stream. It is advisable to bring food as there are no food stalls available at the site. Despite being a popular location, it is not crowded even on weekends.
I went there on January 2nd 2025. It was a nice place for a morning jog or an evening walk. Sakai city was a port city. The lighthouse was built in 1877. It lit up Osaka bay for about 100 years. Due to the land reclamation extending out to the sea, it could no longer fulfill its role and in 1968 the lights were turned off. The story is written on a board nearby.
Edelweiss47 S — Google review
Off the beaten track, but perfect for a peaceful sunset view. There were flying fishes around when we went there in early September.

A peaceful harbour with ample space for running, leisurely activities. You can even get your barbeque and enjoy the evening alongside a stream. There are no food stalls here so it's better to arrange food before you get to this place. It's not crowded even on weekends. You can let yourselves be mesmerized by the many yatchs or the old lighthouse itself.
Raoul C — Google review
This is a public area, you may park your car nearby by search google map. If you really lighthouse lover you may consider to drop by but this is short version of lighthouse not the tall western version. This wooden lighthouse was build in year 1877.

(+) Even with the sound of cars humming along on the highway, a nice spot to sit, think, draw, or have a picnic. (-) No bathroom, vending machines nearby. (-) Surrounding area is overgrown and unkempt.

The Daisen Park Japanese Garden in Sakai-shi is a serene and picturesque attraction that showcases traditional Japanese designs and history. The garden features a koi pond, pavilion, and lush greenery that exudes a calming ambiance. Despite the recent heavy rain, the pond remains full but slightly murky. Visitors can experience an authentic slice of Japan with only a nominal entrance fee of 200 yen.
A lovely park. Apart from the kōfun and Japanese Botanical Gardens, I stumbled across a university and public club traditional dance festival. Despite the cold, plenty of people around. A great way to spend an afternoon.
Lachlan M — Google review
Daisen Park Japanese Garden in Sakai, Osaka, offers an exquisite autumn experience that justifies its modest entrance fee. For approximately ¥200 (about $1.30 USD), visitors can immerse themselves in a meticulously maintained 2.6-hectare traditional strolling garden, renowned for its vibrant fall foliage and serene ambiance. During November, the garden transforms into a tapestry of fiery red maples and golden ginkgo trees, creating a picturesque setting that captivates both locals and tourists. The reflection of these autumn hues on the tranquil pond enhances the visual spectacle, offering a quintessential Japanese garden experience . Designed in the kaiyu-shiki (strolling) style, the garden features winding paths, stone lanterns, and arched bridges that guide visitors through its scenic landscapes. Notable structures like the Kansenden pavilion and the Kasatei teahouse provide cultural context and resting spots, enriching the overall experience . While some may find the entrance fee slightly higher compared to other parks, the garden’s pristine condition and the immersive experience it offers make it a worthwhile investment. Visitors have praised its peaceful atmosphere and the opportunity to enjoy traditional Japanese tea and confections amidst the autumn scenery . In conclusion, Daisen Park Japanese Garden stands out as a must-visit destination during the fall season. Its combination of natural beauty, cultural elements, and tranquil environment provides a memorable experience that is well worth the price of admission.

Came here in August when Japan is super hot. Great place for kids. Have activities for kids of all ages. My kids loved the Toy Tower, a giant jungle gym where the kids climbed up 4 flights. Definitely visit if you come to Osaka with children during summer.

Big Ben is still the most playable indoor playground for elementary schools and primary school students around the area. The facilities are worn out given the long history but the old school style of the place gave a very special vibe, reminding visitors of the 1980s golden ages in Japan, which could be an add on bonus for the parents. The play tower is a must try for young energetic kids. Car park is convenient, just a very short walk and the admission fee is low.

Very big and beautiful garden! The ticket was very cheap and definitely worth it!! I think your experience will depend on what time of the year you visit, since there might be different flowers in bloom. Even though we did not visit it in the peak season, we still had a very pleasant visit and enjoyed walking around and seeing the various plants! Very calm and well looked after!

It was a beautiful walk around this park. It rained before we got here so some of the benches were wet and some of the trails a little muddy, but it still made for a relaxing time. Kurodoriyama Park is a delightful destination that offers a blend of natural beauty and recreational activities. Visitors can stroll along the picturesque waterside deck, where vibrant lotus flowers bloom, or let their children play in the cherry blossom-themed playground. The park is home to approximately 800 cherry trees, transforming into a lively gathering spot during sakura season as people come together to appreciate the stunning blossoms.
I went to hanami by car on April 2nd. Car parking entrance is temporarily moved onto the upper side of hill and guided well by a few security staff. Parking fee is calculated by money collection gate. 1st hour free, 200yen per hour from 2nd hour. Sakura are satisfyingly a lot just along and above our walk path. I liked that sakura trees in some area are blooming low height in front of our eyes. This is so much photogenic spot.

(Translated by Google) I stopped by because it was a famous cherry blossom viewing spot in Izumi City! Please note that the entrance to the parking lot changes during special periods such as cherry blossom season. The back entrance was hard to find so I walked past it for a while. As the name suggests, there is a plaza on top of a small hill with playground equipment and a nice view. The military cemetery "Shindasan Chureito Pagoda" towers over this quiet, small but peaceful park, which is loved by locals as a place of relaxation. The cherry blossoms were a little late and most of them were just cherry blossoms, but the way they fell was beautiful. It appears to be a newly developed park, with a dog run and many young cherry trees planted, so I'm looking forward to the next few years. (Translated by Google) I went on a Saturday during the Obon holiday. The park opened at 9:00 and I arrived at the second parking lot around 8:20 AM. It was about half full. I loaded up my luggage and joined the queue to get in around 8:30 AM, but it was already about 150 meters long from the entrance. People continued to arrive after that, and by the time the park opened, the line stretched far back. You have to buy your ticket before queuing, but most people probably bought theirs in advance, so the ticket machines were empty. Immediately after opening, the slides and inflatable play equipment were empty due to tents and changing rooms. The lazy river was also full of water. There were also chairs under the roof. In some places, pool water spills into the aisles, so be careful not to get your tent wet. The area behind the slides was shaded from morning to early afternoon. The concession stand near the toddler pool was relatively empty, but it did get a little crowded during the hourly break. The prices are not too expensive, the turnover is good, and the staff are efficient. They accept PayPay, so you don't need cash. Small children can go down the slides as long as they are accompanied by a guardian. Tickets cost 100 yen before you can get out. Two people can also go sliding down the slides for 100 yen. The water in the lazy river was a little warm. The kids' pool was cooler. There were hardly any leaves or bugs in the water, and it didn't feel dirty at all. There were plenty of lifeguards on duty, and they would warn you if you ran. It was very crowded, but compared to other pools, it was still fun. Be careful, as the parking lot fills up. There is a Lawson next to the second parking lot, where they sell a variety of items like ice cream and noodles, and you can bring your own, so it's recommended. (Translated by Google) We visited on August 31st, 2025, the final day of the park. Our group consisted of four adults and a three-year-old. We purchased our tickets in advance through Seven Tickets. We had actually planned to go the week before, but when we got there around noon, the parking lot was full and there was a huge line, so we decided to return on the final day for revenge. We did some research beforehand and arrived around 8:10 AM to park in the second parking lot, closest to the pool. By the way, the park opened at 9 AM that day, but the parking lot on March 1st was already full. (We later found out on the official website that the parking lot was full at 8:38 AM.) After parking, we saw everyone else waiting for the park to open, so we joined in. However, there was already a line about 150 meters long, and by the time the park opened, the line was more than twice as long. Even so, we were able to get inside smoothly, about 10 minutes after the opening announcement. After securing a spot in the pop-up tent, we immediately went down the water slide and let our child play in the kids' area before it got too crowded. The lazy river was a bit crowded, but it was spacious overall, so I guess that's how it is on the last day. There were several shops, vending machines, restrooms, and smoking areas. -Points- - The best time to arrive at the second parking lot is 1 hour to 30 minutes before park opening (check the official parking information on X). - Pop-up tents are almost essential as rest areas. - There are no height or age restrictions for the water slide. A 100 yen cash fee applies per slide. - Purchase tickets in advance if possible. This was my first time at the pool, but considering how crowded it gets on weekends, I think early morning is the best time to go. It's tough to always be this enthusiastic at the prefectural pool, so I probably won't be returning. However, it's spacious and clean, and plenty of room for kids to have fun, so it's easy to see why it's so popular. If you can find a parking spot, the inside is spacious, so if you don't mind going further away, you might be able to get there by around 10:30 AM.

At the same time, (as you can see by looking at the houses around the station) it also had a history of being a vacation home area for the rich. This is probably the reason why the station buildings of the former Hamadera Koen Station and the former Suwanomori Station have become as elegant (for the time) as you can see in the photo. Toyokawa Madoka (won first place nationwide), Monozou, Ishiyama Tomoka, Ueda Remu, Uzumasa Moe, Fukuoji Hikaru, Izumi Koumi (what happened after the merger?), Kitakami Yumiko, Kamimae Miiko, Platypus Iko-chan, Honmacho Man, Nishiume Man (no response for 5 years), Higomashin, Hanazono-chan, Tamade Man, Suminoe Man, Kitaka-kun... JR Hanwa Line station. Only local trains stop here. The Hanwa Line has good connections with local trains, so if you're coming from Tennoji, if you wait at the first stop on the rapid train, "Sakai City Station," a local train will arrive soon. On July 18, 1929 (Showa 4), when the Hanwa Electric Railway opened between Hanwa Tennoji Station (now Tennoji Station) and Izumi-Fuchu Station, this station was established as Nintoku-Goryou-mae Station. Then the station name changed to Mozu-Goryo-Mae stop. On May 1, 1944 (Showa 19), the station was nationalized through wartime acquisition and became part of the Ministry of Transport and Communications (JNR) Hanwa Line. At the same time it was upgraded to a station and renamed Mozu Station, where it remains to this day. There is no overbridge between the up and down platforms. The only way to travel is to use a level crossing or a footbridge. If you want to visit Mozu Hachiman Shrine, this station or Mozu Hachiman Station on the Nankai Line are about the same distance away. The park has a nice assortment of playgrounds, ponds and cherry blossom viewing areas. The northern end of the park is undeniably beautiful during the cherry blossom season. Crowds amass in that northern part making it really hard for others to get around. From a runner's perspective though, the condition of the road is not ideal. There are cracks, holes, gaps and general unevenness in my parts on top of a number of inclines and declines. It really makes you wonder whether they actually hold a marathon here every year.

舟渡池公園 is a family-friendly park with ample facilities for a fun day out. The park offers free parking, making it convenient for visitors, and features play equipment suitable for young children up to lower elementary school grades. Play equipment is also abundant considering the size of the park. A small river was flowing through the park, and children were playing with plastic cases and nets. (Translated by Google) ☆2018.4.29 From yesterday, the 28th, the former water treatment plant facility was opened for the ``Azalea Festival'', and the number of workers increased. However, this year the flowers bloomed early, so unfortunately for those who come to see them, the azalea flowers are already starting to dry up. Well, the flowers don't bloom just in time for Golden Week. 😅 ☆2018.4.20 It is loved by many people as the “Azalea of Asakayama Water Purification Plant,” and its season is here again! I went to have a look around this afternoon. The azaleas had already begun to bloom and were beautiful. However, 70% of the flowers are still in bud, and the first half of the holidays will probably be the best time to see them. When in full bloom, the sweet scent of these planted azaleas flows in the wind in the park next to the former water purification plant, and it feels like your entire body is enveloped. ☆2017.10 I used to have a dog for many years, so I used to come to this park every day. The cherry blossoms were beautiful in spring, but now they have been cut down due to pests and are sad. However, the autumn leaves are still beautiful. When I casually passed by that evening, I noticed that the familiar maple leaves were dyed red and the ginkgo trees had golden yellow leaves, and they were lined up side by side, looking friendly to each other.
