Souvenir store
A Vida Portuguesa is a charming store located upstairs, offering a delightful array of nostalgic Portuguese products with retro-style packaging. The Mercado 48 section within the store showcases modern cork-and-ceramic teapots and mugs in various colors, paying homage to Portugal's cork production history. Additionally, Centro Comercial Bombarda houses small shops and restaurants featuring goods from local designers.
Down the road from Livraria Lello there is a shop that seems to be a similar to the Livreria Lello. In a Vida there are a lot of useful things. That don't cost a lot. There is a lot of stylish stuff.
Grace P — Google review
A pleasant store selling various Portuguese brands' products. You can find a wide range of items from clothing to home decor, souvenirs to seeds. Generally, the upper floor is dedicated to souvenirs and tourist items. The design and atmosphere of the store are lovely. You can wander around without being bothered by any staff. The staff at the checkout counter are polite and friendly. However, I should mention that the prices of some items are a bit high. We bought a few packets of seeds, but later saw the same brand's products at a much cheaper price elsewhere, which was disappointing.
Murat Y — Google review
This was the best souvenir shop I went in during my trip to Porto! Lovely local-made products in Portuguese packaging. Great for sardines, soaps, small trinkets, etc. Not kitschy or cheaply made like some of the tourist shops.
Anna K — Google review
Hidden behind the long queue for Livaria Lello, it is a spot easily neglected if you walk past. Definitely a place worth spending more time in than their neighbour bookshop. Filled with interesting tools, household objects and souvenirs, you could easily pick up a few items home with you. The shop itself is also very pretty.
Chan S — Google review
Just like the nearby bookshop, this shop has great photo opportunities because of its interior but this one is free
Mark V — Google review
Very cute place and shop. There is a large range of products: soap, different objects, wine, food..
Marinunzia L — Google review
Very stylishly laid out store with lots of pretty items. Not your typical souvenir shop! It's a little on the pricey side but it's a really nice place and the stuff is obviously all well made and designed. Location is excellent. The staircase is quite grand and worth a look just for that!

Taylors Port offers a fascinating journey through time, delving into the history of Porto wine, viticulture, the Douro region, and the remarkable story of Taylors. Visitors can explore the extensive cellars with an electronic audio-guide providing insights into the company's heritage and winemaking processes. The self-guided tour allows for flexibility in pacing and is ideal for those with limited time or seeking an overview of port production.
Had an awesome winery experience :) It’s a self-guided tour (you need headphones) which took around an hour to complete. Total historic tour of this winery and wine-making. After the tour, you will walk into an amazingly beautiful garden for tasting session. It was super scorching day, so i sat indoors by the window for tasting and it was perfect!! I had both cool atmosphere and the perfect garden view. I tried [extra dry white port][10year tawny][vintage port]. Ordered some olives and taylor’s natas (chocolate layer inside) for pairing with the drinks. All the staffs were kind, informative.and attentive. :)
Hanna B — Google review
One of the oldest cellar buildings b the area with a pre-book self-guided audio tour and wine tasting(3 kinds). Helpful history although a big part of it was for this particular venue. The wine tasting area is in a beautiful court yard with great decoration and large area inside and outside. They rai out of snack by 4pm with only a few sweets and cheese and olive 🫒 left. Cheese was good but Oliver was not fresh and super salty and is barely edible. Need some improvement there for sure. Not the cheapest cellar and there is a bit of a hill to walk up after the bridge but still enjoyable and only need to book ahead day in advance which is nice ☺️
Maggie — Google review
This was a fantastic port cellar to visit! The tour itself is very informative and has a lot of historical artifacts, videos, and of course the barrels of port in the giant warehouse. The tour is all self guided at your pace, and gives a complete history of the company and also the port making process. The best part is of course the tasting at the end in Taylor’s beautiful garden. The ports we tried were all top notch (especially the 10 year) and the server was very knowledgeable about the styles. Most definitely worth a special visit if you’re in Porto.
David S — Google review
1) I liked the port wine. 2) If you visit, I think the tour including a tasting is a better deal than just the tasting, with tasting sets starting at 22 EUR. 3) Be aware that while the garden is nice, you won’t have much of a view of Porto. 4) Stay away from the bread basket — at 8 EUR for six tiny pieces of mediocre bread, I thought this was a real rip-off that left a bitter taste on the whole experience
Mary S — Google review
We enjoyed visiting this wine cellar and recommend this place to other visitors. The tour is informative and shares context on the wine making process and some history of the founders of this cellar. You get the chance to pass by some real big barrels which was cool. The highlight of the tour was the tasting. You taste the wines in the rooftop garden and if you go to the balcony, you will have a nice view of porto. There is a shop that you can purchase wines. The price was fair for the experience (~€25).
Reza N — Google review
We had such a great tour of the port, followed by a tasting that was absolutely delicious. Marri (forgive me if I’m spelling her name wrong!) was our waitress she was so sweet, spoke perfect English, and really took the time to help us pair our port with food. The pairings were spot-on and made the experience even better. The grounds are stunning, covered in grapevines everywhere you really feel like you’re in the heart of a winery. They also have a charming little shop where you can purchase their port and even their own house olive oil. Another bonus they’re open on Mondays, when many of the other ports in the area are closed. We actually stumbled upon this place, and I’m so glad we did!
Travelina K — Google review
If you love port, or think you might, and can splurge a bit for the tawny master class, I highly recommend doing so. While I did it, my wife did the audioguide tour and we both enjoyed ourselves immensely. We didn't do all the bodegas but of the ones we did, this was our favorite.
박수정 — Google review
Port wine lover. This is one of the stops you have to add to your ToGo list. Tried their port tasting with our 1st taste of Iberian Ham. What a pairing and was well served by super friendly staff who has shown his interest introducing each and every port characteristics. Wonderful experience. Thank You!

Market
Mercado Beira-Rio is a popular food market located in Vila Nova de Gaia, Portugal. It offers a magnificent night view and wonderful daytime scenery. The market is known for its authentic Portuguese food and lovely Italian restaurant, making it a hub for Port wine enthusiasts. Visitors can also enjoy the glasshouse restaurant by the Douro River and indulge in wine tasting at Quevedo Lodge nearby.
This isn't really a market but a food court. They offer a great selection of different little restaurants with a big selection of Portugese food. We went for the seafood selection and got some oysters and octopus. Only downside is, that it is a little crowded and doesn't offer enough seating. The food was really good and we enjoyed it in combination with some wine from the region. You should check out this place !
Tobi O — Google review
A great spot to try different local food and beer. The atmosphere is festive, but due to the crowd, it can feel a bit stuffy. On the right side, you’ll find a stand with delicious fresh fruit and juices run by two lovely older ladies.
Dusan R — Google review
The food was excellent, reasonable, and very tasty. Such a lively local food court with freshly-made food. There are tables inside and outside. You order, pay, and take your food to your seats. Very good place to have lunch.
Momo W — Google review
Mercado Beira Rio is Porto’s lively food playground—packed with fresh flavors and local vibes. Perfect for a quick, honest bite. A true hidden gem.
Noel M — Google review
Best octopus we got in Portugal! There is a seafood stall with incredible quality product at a really cheap prices, also loved the ones with fresh fruits. Trully recommended if you want to grab a fee bites and try different things.
Martin R — Google review
Amazing atmosphere and service. Food was INCREDIBLE, came very fast and the price is unbeatable. Definitely worth the visit if you like Asian food!
Michelle M — Google review
I recently visited Beira Rio and had a really nice experience overall. I ordered a pizza, and it turned out to be delicious — freshly made, well-cooked, and served in a good portion size, definitely worth the price. What I really appreciated was the variety of vegetarian options available on the menu, which is quite impressive and makes it a great place for vegetarians as well. It’s not always easy to find restaurants with such a balanced mix of options, so that was definitely a plus point. The location of Beira Rio adds to its charm. It’s beautifully situated, offering a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere that makes it a perfect spot to unwind and enjoy good food. The ambiance is modern yet cozy, making it ideal for both casual meals and small gatherings. Another thing I noticed and liked was that the staff and people around communicate well in English, which makes it comfortable and convenient, especially for visitors. Overall, Beira Rio is a great place for food lovers, especially those who enjoy quality vegetarian options and a peaceful dining environment. With good food, friendly service, and a wonderful location, it’s definitely a place I’d love to visit again.

We had a very good octopus salad and glass of vino verde. We sat outside at the picnic tables. There will be smokers outside but the inside was packed!

Nice place, a lot of brands here, more floors, normal prices (not as outlet) - more like pop-up stores with variety of products form each brand/designer.😊

This place is huge. It has something for everyone. I will definitely go back. Make sure you have a few hours. It has a large variety of different stores, very clean & worth going to. Enjoy!!

This place needs more signs, especially to know where the supermarket, the coffee store are. I wasted a lot of time because of that in my first visit yesterday. I left the store without buying because I couldn’t find the things I wanted . I only found the starbucks. Please improve the signs make it more visu and easy to find.

Fonseca Port Wine Cellars, located in Vila Nova de Gaia, Portugal, are a popular destination for wine lovers and tourists. Situated across the Douro River from Porto, these historic cellars are known for storing some of the finest port wines globally. Visitors can explore the rich history and traditional production methods of Port Wine while enjoying tastings at this must-visit attraction.
If you’re looking for an interesting, but low key port tour, this is for you! For €10 you take a self-guided tour of the cellar and learn all about the making of port. You then get to enjoy their famous Bin 27 port in the tasting room. A great alternative for people who don’t fancy a long guided tour and waiting for availability for the tour in English.
Olivia S — Google review
Great wines, nice staff, great authentic location. We didn't ask for a wine tour because we didn't see the point. The 20 year old Port wine we had was a dream. The second and third glass was no different. And yes, it was expensive. If low price is not important then don't come here, come to one of the tourist traps by the water. This is not it!
Ermi M — Google review
Nonexistent customer service. We have booked a dinner with wine tasting. Later it turned out that we wouldn't be able to come on the day we booked, so I left them a message on the number that was on the reservation asking if we could move the visit to another day. Nobody answered the message. The next day I called that number and was told to call another number. I called and the person said he didn't speak English and would ask his colleague to call. He never called. I then called their third number, where we were told to "google the right number because we don't handle tasting reservations". We lost 112 euros.
E A — Google review
I didn't have a lot of time but really enjoyed the tour and tasting. The best place to buy Fonseca wine and goodies.
Michael G — Google review
Henrique made the experience unforgettable. He was absolutely fantastic!! Knowledgeable, friendly, and full of passion for Fonseca’s history and wines. He brought every glass to life with stories about the Douro Valley and the art of Port making. Our favorite was the 20-Year-Old Tawny — smooth, nutty, perfectly balanced, and simply beautiful. The setting, the people, and the wines made this an experience I’ll never forget. Obrigada, Fonseca! 🍷❤️
Hyeonjung 文 — Google review
The fado part was absolutely fantastic, the three musicians were so passionate and talented. Unfortunately the cellar tour was terrible - the young female guide for our English group spoke very unclearly (not helped by other language groups being around us), rushed through the content extremely quickly, only for us to then wait in the tasting room for a long time for the Portuguese group to arrive. She could definitely have gone through the guided tour properly - the male guide with the Portuguese group did and he seemed so much more enthusiastic.
Ivan Y — Google review
I booked wine tasting with dinner - prepaid. They cancelled it a few days before my reservation - because of a private event in the same day. Since my days are planned - because of short term visit- I coulnd’t reschedule it for another day. Instead, I asked recommandation for similar experince Ididn’t get any reply after that. Not professional neither customer oriented. Don’t trust the reservation even if you pay months ago.
Evgeni A — Google review
We booked the tour, wine tasting and fado performance. Our guide Henrique was enthusiastic and presented us with such in-depth knowledge on Fonseca’s port wines. The fado performers gave us a beautiful and touching show. The price is great for this experience!

In the vibrant cultural district of Porto, you'll find a diverse array of dining options to suit every palate. From The 1828 steakhouse and The Golden Catch offering fresh seafood, to Root & Vine's vegetarian and vegan fare, there's something for everyone. Wine enthusiasts can indulge in the finest global selections at Angels Share, while those with a sweet tooth can visit Suspiro or Vinte Vinte for delectable chocolate creations made in-house.
We made a stop here to have a rest and drink some port wine. Wonderful place: gentle personal, fast service, pleasant interior. Definitely recommend! Regarding the recommended service fee in the bill: indeed, it’s there, but we were explicitly told that it’s not obligatory to pay. The same is stated in the bill, and it also shows the price without the fee.

Just across the Library Lello. On the expensive side, but fast service and the food was delicious. I suggest the Cod in the oven with cream and cheese + the special hot-dog. My Rose Sangria tasted really good and you knew there was alcohol in it. Great in general.

You really think the glass of brut for 6 euros should look like this? It's not even half of it. Be careful not to pay the suggested service fee for 10% if you were waiting for as long as we were.

Mercado do Bolhão is a historic, two-level market housed in a neoclassical building that opened in central Porto in 1917. It has become an iconic city landmark with its charming faded grandeur and family-run stalls offering fresh produce, meats, fish, sausages, flowers, and local crafts. Visitors can enjoy a multisensory experience as they wander through narrow corridors filled with colorful sights and enticing aromas.
This market was absolutely excellent! The variety of food on offer is incredible everything from dried and fresh foods to vibrant fruits, drinks, and even plants. There were plenty of samples to taste, which made the visit even more enjoyable. It’s a real feast for the senses and a great spot to explore. Definitely a must-see, and a perfect place to stop for a delicious lunch. Highly recommended!
Duncan A — Google review
It’s a huge market that has everything from meat, fish, wine, and souvenirs to artist market. It’s directly connected to the train station so you can access it quite easily. It definitely has an element of tourist trap with certain dishes and goods, but I also saw plenty of locals simply grocery shopping. I personally loved the seafood and the ham. They also have insanely cheap glasses of wine so be careful if you’re going to be drinking! But it’s a must visit place for me in Porto
Scott L — Google review
Mercado do Bolhão is one of the highlights of Porto and a must-visit if you want to experience the city’s flavours in one place. The market is spotless, beautifully restored, and full of life. From the moment you step inside, you are surrounded by stalls offering fresh fish, fragrant olives, local olive oils, fresh fruit, fruit juices, meats, and brilliantly packed sardines that make perfect gifts. We purchased some olives and a bottle of white wine and enjoyed them right there in the market. Walking around with a glass of crisp wine while tasting the olives and chatting with vendors felt both authentic and relaxing. The fishmongers and food stalls are a delight to explore, and you will also find stores selling handicrafts, so it really has a little bit of everything. What stood out most to me was the balance between tradition and modern comfort. You get the energy of a traditional Portuguese market, but in a clean, organised, and welcoming space. Whether you come to taste, shop, or just soak in the atmosphere, Mercado do Bolhão is worth your time.
Ali M — Google review
Lovely indoor market with a wide range of produce aimed mainly at tourists. Fabulous to be able to buy a glass of wine etc in a real glass and wander around the stalls. Places to sit and eat the wide range of foods available. Stall holders were very pleasant and helpful. Good range of products that are hard to source at home and generally good vfm. What was disappointing was that none of the foods on sale were out for you to sample. It’s the first market I have visited where this was the case. Usually there are plates with little samples on so you can taste before you buy. Very clean and everything very well presented.
Elviera L — Google review
This is an amazing market set over two levels of a square building with an open entrée. There are two galleries that run around the edges which have shops selling jewelry, ceramics, handbags, and other examples of Portuguese cross friendship. The bottom level is dedicated to foods, beverages, flowers, and other produce, including meats, fish, fruits, and vegetables. This is a fantastic building and worthy of a visit.

Sa e some time for a visit to this market. Stunning array of cured meets and seafood ready for tasting. Wine of course too. I had some of the largest oysters to eat. Easy to find and right off from the metro.

This is a must visit place in Porto. A large indoor marketplace with restaurants housed in a renovated old building. There is a lot to see and to taste. Vegetables, fruit and fresh juice, fresh fish, famous canned sardines, special coffee, olive oil and olives, flowers, wines including port of course, perfumes and hand-made souvenirs to buy. Often, you can meet a performing artist (or a group).

This is a great local market featuring fresh seafood and diverse offerings. Just be aware that the operating hours for the restaurants on the top floor are separate from the main market's closing time.

Mercado Bom Sucesso is a vibrant indoor market that has been recently remodeled and modernized. It offers 67 stalls and shops, as well as office space and an 85-room hotel. Visitors can browse through a variety of gourmet offerings from Portugal and around the world, then enjoy their purchases at communal tables or take cooking classes. The market also hosts regular events such as live music and cooking demonstrations.
If you like the Time Out Market in Porto then this place is next level. The selection of food is exceptional, the quality great and it's really very good value for a place with such a classy atmosphere. It's very easy to get to on the Metro and should be an absolute must-do for any visitor to Porto.

Mostly locals so most menu weren’t in English. Thankful for pictures and most service stuff speaks English. We enjoyed the Bifana and suckling piglet, both served with chips, and of course coffee with 2 chocolate balls!

An amazing food court for whenever you want to eat. The selection of food here is amazing with an adjoining super market too. If you're not sure of what to eat, you will find something here. We liked the local bakery goods of the pasta del nata, had francesinha, enjoyed the cod as well as porto wine. Honestly a great place to eat different food.

Spacious and cozy gourmet-style food court. Great quality at fair prices. Beautiful architecture and lots of natural light.

This place is absolutely amazing. Grab a drink, wine or a beer and go around with your drink and select your food, then find a very nice spot to enjoy, and enjoy you will

It’s a little out from where the usual tourists spots are, but if you make it here, you will be rewarded. Great ambience, great foods, really local and fairly priced.

Holly Sunday Not busy, super nice food court you won't be too worry about our "bags". Lots of varieties of food like pasta, beer, local, tapas, sushi, seafood, etc... Only one counter offer seafood with oyster, king prawns, etc... looks great. Personally, I like Coffee Point Coffee coz it has lots of flavors with ice also.
Lalalulu — Google review
It’s a less touristy version of Time Out Market, the atmosphere is modern and with lots more locals here. Here, you’ll find an endless parade of authentic Portuguese dishes, from flaky pastries and chocolate cakes to perfectly poured port, beers, and savoury petiscos. We dove straight into Mariscaria’s seafood platter: tender crab claws, plump shrimp, mussels in a fragrant broth, and that irresistible bread-and-crab-dip couvert. Every bite was fresh, briny, and generously portioned—yet the prices stayed very reasonable. Whether your group can’t agree on appetizers or everyone’s craving something different, this is the perfect spot to graze, share, and discover new favourites together. Visited on a Monday at 1pm, seems to be a fave lunch spot amongst office workers.

My favorite spot to stop in for a bite. This place is on the main road but feels off the beaten path. The food is delicious and the staff are very friendly. Easy stop for meat, cheese and a port. They have various menu options, focused on Portuguese food and drinks.

Everything about Mercearia das Flores was fantastic! From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere felt warm and inviting. The food was delicious and clearly made with great care and fresh ingredients. The staff were super friendly and attentive, making the whole experience even better. It’s the perfect place to enjoy authentic local flavors in a cozy setting. I would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Porto!

We were strolling down from Sao Bento and wanted a quick snack before our river cruise. Stumbled upon Merceraria Flores, what luck! We had a great stop off, with lovely wine cheese and charcuterie. The gentleman who took care of us ( perhaps the owner? ) was so kind and lovely with our kids. Reminiscing about drinking milk as. A child when our daughter wanted a glass of cold milk - off menu of course - he was very accommodating. And make excellent wine suggestions for the adults. Awesome, welcoming place where you can tell there is so much joy in meeting new people, creating connections and sharing their love of Porto and Portugal. It's a must visit!

We only stopped here for coffee and tea but apparently they do lunches and dinners as well as selling some can foods, cheese and other package foods. It’s a cute and cool concept store. The lady is friendly and warm. Location is great as in the shopping center and very busy.

Great place! The ladies are super nice and welcoming, they recommended 2 traditional dishes to try and both were amazing! It’s located in the middle of the Flores street, which is a must to visit. If you sit outside with the sun, is a pedestrian street so you can enjoy the day. All products were high quality. the food was amazingly good! Ask for the olive bread!

It was a bit hard to find healthy and delicious places to eat in Porto, but this place rocked! The service was very nice. I sat outside with my dog and they were super sweet and attentive. The tuna salad was perfect! Light and fresh. I had a mushroom pastry that I give it a 10! and I had this gluten free, low sugar carrot coconut cake that was amazing. Very different than a regular carrot cake from the US. This was light and healthy. They also sell organic products.

Wine Bar - Quevedo Lodge is a family-owned port winery in Porto that offers an amazing and unique experience. The staff is welcoming, kind, and takes the time to explain everything about port, making it a must-visit for everyone. While it may not offer warehouse tours, the tasting room provides a lovely atmosphere with live music and a comfortable setting. Visitors can enjoy delicious ports, wines, spirits, and food pairings while receiving informative guidance from the staff.
Recommended by out tour guide as a locally owned house of Port it was an easy decision to follow his advice. Ordered a flight of Ports to taste and local cheese plate, wonderful presentation. Then the lovely hostess gave an interesting and engaging walk through about the family run operation and the four ports. Tasted the ports and marvelled at the complexity and variation of the ports before then pairing and enjoying with the cheese plate. Small, intimate, welcoming and some cool and relaxing music in the background to keep the good vibes going, certainly recommend à visiting versus some of the bigger port houses

Hidden away from the Douro River in the labyrinth of tiny streets in Vila Nova de Gaia is a gem of a tasting room. This family owned and operated port lodge is both spacious and intimate. They offer an array of tasting options, either solo or with food pairings. The nice thing was their portfolio wines and ports were also available by the glass. Every staff member was friendly and extremely knowledgeable about all their wines. Plus, their shop has great prices for their products should you want to buy on the spot or ship home.
Mike S — Google review
Miguel was a fantastic host, explaining in great detail the flavours and history of each wine and also shared with us the history of their company and the owners roles. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience and would definitely return. The wines were gorgeous and the Port was perfectly sweet and well paired with the provided snacks.

An industrial-chic yet cozy tasting room with incredibly friendly staff! In addition to Port wine, they craft and serve their own gin, which is absolutely delicious and we purchased these unique bottles as gifts. We found this hidden gem tucked away off the main streets while taking a break from exploring. The staff went above and beyond, even sharing a personal guide with their favorite local spots- such a thoughtful and memorable touch.

Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Delicious port and cheese pairing. Highly recommend a visit when in Porto. We also had a bottle of wine and charcuterie board which were fantastic. Do it.
Paul M — Google review
My partner and I did a tasting and it was such a nice experience. There is a bar ok the ground floor, with a separate tasting room on the 1st floor. You can book online but we just walked it and they squeezed us in. It turned out to be just my partner and I with the sommelier, and we learned so much . Delicious ports - we tried 4 samples for €16 so great value. You can sample ports paired with cheese which I heard is an excellent option (as long as you don’t arrive full)

The Pink Palace - Museu do Rosé offers a unique and fun approach to learning about Rose wine. Visitors are given two glasses at the beginning of the tour and can enjoy five different wine tastings along the route, while also learning about the history of Rose. The museum focuses on providing a tasting experience rather than traditional displays, with plenty of photo opportunities and even a ball pool for added enjoyment. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, offering insights into the types and history of the wines being tasted.
Cute place but don't be confused - this is for grown women mostly, not kids. Although my daughter had a lot of fun it's mostly a very cool curated experience where you learn about Rosé. Even as a wine buff I learned a lot! Very cute experience. Don't be like us and follow Google maps though! No need to walk up and down the mountain. Just go into the big glass doors that say WOW across from the parking garage entrance and then up the elevator. Otherwise you are in for a difficult 20 min hike.
Ryan B — Google review
The Pink Experience was much more fun than expected. Besides the wine (rose) tasting and the story about Rose wines there was much plenty to do for kids (we were with 3 kids: 3,5 and 14 YO) The staff is very friendly, nice wine shop, it is very clean and well setup. A great experience for 1 upto 1,5 hour.
Nathan W — Google review
Had a great time at the Pink Palace! The "museum" part is a bit light, but the wine tastings, the fun activities and the friendly staff make it a fun way to spend an hour or so. We were guided on the day by Mafalda Rocha, who explained most of the wines for us and helped us get some good photos.
David J — Google review
Super fun experience. This is the most silly and still most interactive museum in WOW. You are allowed to do most anything, and get "payed" in 5 tasting of different rose. It is awesome.
David M — Google review
We had so much fun in the pink palace! It is entirely dedicated to rosé wine, something I didn't know much about before. It has information about the wine and lots of fun photo opportunities. There was a ball pit, a seesaw, a saloon room, an old Cadillac and lots of other cool photo spots. The only issue was Google maps trying to send up way up hill to get here, you can go through a building beside the main WOW square, no hills required. You get 5 rosé samples as part of the experience too, all delicious.
Moya V — Google review
Good couple of hours fun , wandering round taking photos learning about wine..felt a bit rushed at times regarding the tasting but just take your time and enjoy.
Dave B — Google review
Note to the uninitiated - this is NOT a museum full of art and antiquities where you can’t touch anything; it’s the exact opposite! It’s basically FUN HOUSE FOR ADULTS and a rose wine tasting at the same time. This doesn’t mean that you won’t come out learning a lot about rose wine – there are placards everywhere explaining how it’s made, which countries produce and it and which countries imbibe it, but what I found most interesting is how it was revered by royalty back in the day (legend has it that Louis XIV noticed the joyful demeanor of the workmen at Versailles and discovered that they were drinking Rosé des Riceys, a pink wine from the Champagne region, so he tried it himself and took a real shine to it, making it famous among the elite of the time) and now it’s still beloved by royalty and wanna-be royalty (Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex has recently launched a brand) and American celebrities go absolutely ga-ga over the pink stuff and many are affiliated with certain brands like John Legend, Cameron Diaz, Jon Bon Jovi, Drew Barrymore, and Post Malone (Brad Pitt and Angeline Jolie are still battling over who will get the shares in their rose winery, Miraval). Rosé has become so popular in posh places like the Hamptons that people are worried it’s going to run out every summer! (Quelle Horreur!) Here’s how the Pink Palace Experience works.. You get a bracelet at the entrance with 5 little buttons inserted. Scattered throughout the rooms that are set up cleverly and creatively like Broadway stage sets, you'll find wine tasting stations. You trade one of the buttons on your bracelet for a glass of Rosé wine served by a charming young lady who will explain to you about how the wine was made, tell you where it was produced, and answer your questions about it. (4 of the wines I tasted were from Portugal, 1 was from France). I won’t want to be a spoiler and overshare what all of the rooms looked like and all the cool things you could do in them, but you will be able to tell from my photos that the purpose of it all was to have fun – pure, unabashed unapologetic fun, that will make you feel like a little kid again! OK, fine, maybe the World of Wine IS a tourist trap (at the end, you end up in a gift shop) but let me tell you, IT WORKED! When I came out the other end, I felt only a little bit poorer but many years younger! And I met a super cool couple from Colombia that recently relocated to Porto and we took pics of each other going through the crazy rooms and exchanged WhatsApp info so now I have a Porto connection all because of the Pink Palace. Uh-huh, that's right. So don't second guess yourself or take yourself too seriously. JUST DO IT!! 😊

This is a very nice mall with easy access from bus stops and parking. It has all the basic stores and many independent stores. It's very clean. The several times I have been here it has not been overly congested. There are two very interesting features that were exciting for me. The first was a well-kept and well designed bowling alley. The second was a food court that hacks access to a porch overlooking the Douro River. The view is quite spectacular. It is worth a visit.

It's a nice mall, but currently (fall 2025) undergoing done minor renovations. Many ceilings are affected, but the mall is still totally accessible. For us, tourists who stayed close to the mall, the best part was the food court. It's a very good food court.
Jerald F — Google review
I don’t know much about the mall, it’s a bit outdated and needs an interior overhaul… But this poor review is mostly down to the mall having and implementing a standard of business and service expectation within the malls acceptance of is tenants. Referring specifically here to the poor delivery of product and service from the newly refurbished Bowling Alley and Games zone. You can read mine and many many other peoples review there in this regard but you should be forcing closure of that area until that business is ready to perform as a fair and functioning service with a team and product that represents your malls written standards, if they exist.

A wonderful experience! A new secret to be discovered in the heart of Porto. La Portuguese Porto Market (on a street near rua Santa Catarina) does a wonderful Fado & lunch on Saturdays from 2:30-4:30pm. Ana Ferreira and her accompaniment of guitarists are phenomenal. Her voice echoes beautifully and longingly with classics of Fado. It was a wonderful experience for me and I highly recommend seeing her performance firsthand. Don't miss this opportunity. I am glad I stumbled inside looking at the fashionable neckties exhibited in the windows! Bruno and staff (Barabara and the rest!) provided amazing service and hospitality. I enjoyed their conversation paired with the delicious sausage flambee (with the fire-lit liquor below roasting my food in front of me). The glass of wine I ordered was full enough to be a fish bowl (and of delicious quality - characteristic of Portugal) and the couvert - or snacks and appetizers brought before the meal - were yummy and plentiful. We had so much fun that they asked me to stay for a complimentary sip of Sangria with them and I am super happy that I had that opportunity to get to know some locals of Porto. Wishing the best for them and their fantastic venue/market. Cheers. (Oh, and anyone who didn't give this place 5 stars is either a hater or nearby competition!)

Mercado da Foz do Douro is a charming local market offering a variety of fresh produce, including fruits, vegetables, meat, and fish. Visitors can enjoy delicious desserts at A Bolacheira or savor francesinhas and rissois at Brasao.
We had a great lunch at the cafe do mercado. Delicious and low price for the dish of the day, a roasted chicken with rice and fries plus drink (beer, wine, soft drink) and a coffee, all for only 8.50 euro. Fast and friendly service. Can highly recommended. There is other shops and restaurants in the market place. And one of my sneakers sole was coming undone in the back and the shoe repair shop (Sabateiro) fixed my sneaker while we had lunch. All in all a great service and place to visit.

Strategically located with easy access, the mall boasts 161 stores along with a food court and free parking. It's not that there's anything wrong with it, but there's nothing special about it either. If you live in Gaia and need something then it's fine, as a tourist it's not really worth the visit.

Needs modernisation, especially the ghastly exterior architecture, but has most things you need including one of the best refurbished Continentes in Porto for its large size and range.

Yep, it's a nice shopping center. Quite large. You have all the famous brands...

An intermediate-size mall, rather on the bigger side for malls in Porto. Mainly women's clothing and accessories but also electric appliances a movie theater and a generic food court. Next to the mall is a large continente hypermarket for food etc. I spotted a Decathlon sportswear shop nearby too

Armazém da Cerveja is a top destination for craft beer enthusiasts in Porto. Situated in downtown Porto, this spot offers a wide selection of quality national and international labels, with a constantly changing variety both on tap and in bottles. With around 200 different labels available, including Portuguese and foreign brands, it's a must-visit for beer lovers. Additionally, Armazém da Cerveja distributes beer throughout Portugal and Spain via its online store.
A good place for craft beers on a good price. There is also the option of a beer flight. Enough options on tap and many more in cans and bottles.

Top recommendations and top flavours!! Highly recommend this place if you have tastebuds of a refined nature. Ask the staff what you want and they will amaze you.

Great neighborhood pub offering excellent craft beers from Portugal and abroad. I enjoyed drinking my brew in the small courtyard in the back of the pub. They give you a token to keep a tab open. Nice selection of cans and bottles are also available. Worth the visit when the girls are shopping! :)
Sylvain M — Google review
Awesome selection of beers. Personally feel the prices are a bit high for some of the drinks you can buy but it's a good vibe place, environment and feel about the place!
Jamie H — Google review
Nice craft beer bar. The only food on offer was bacon paninis but they were very good (and that's coming from a Brit who isn't normally keen on how bacon is cooked outside the UK!). Very chilled vibe and even had young children in the bar at 10pm! No queues at the bar and a good selection of beers to choose from
Philip P — Google review
Nice little craft beer bar this. 10+ taps of quality craft beer, good range of sour, lager, weiss, stout etc. Lots of different countries too. And loads of cans in the fridge too. Comfy seating. The decor is a bit rough and ready but it's nice, and there's a small outdoor patio too. Staff are super nice. Lovely place.
Josh G — Google review
This is a very chill place to have craft beer. They only have 7 taps, but they have a variety of bottled and can beers for you to buy. They have a stacked fridge and also room temperature stacked shelves with a variety of beers to take home. They have a small food menu, but they encourage you to have food delivered there. They also have an assortment of board games that you can play while you enjoy lovely craft beer! The music is great! And the staff friendly
Antonieta L — Google review
Nice and comfy place to spend some time with a few or some friends, there is a lot of different beers to try. The number 1 from the house is affordable and tasty. There is also a little open space at the backyard, an acoustic guitar and some games if you want to play. Friendly staff!

Claus Porto is a renowned bath shop located in Porto, offering classic products such as soaps, lotions, and colognes. The store features a large sink made from Estremoz marble on the ground floor and a gallery upstairs showcasing hand-drawn designs, lithographs, newspaper clippings, and perfume bottles spanning four generations. Founded by two German men in 1887, Claus Porto has grown into a global brand while maintaining its prestigious status.
A very enjoyable visit to this beautiful store in Porto! All associates were extremely friendly and helpful! The museum was a great touch and very informative of the brand’s history. So many delicious scents that it was quite hard not to walk out with everything! With the holiday season, the gorgeous packaging make for great gifts! Definitely recommend a stop at Claus Porto while in the city! I look forward to continuing to support the brand via online shopping!
Alyssia O — Google review
A lovely store with great products in beautiful packaging and a wide range of luxurious scents. Even their smallest sized soap’s fragrance lingers long in my bathroom after use, which I love. The second floor has a museum where you can learn more about the brand’s history. The service was ok, but wasn’t as good as I previously experienced 2 years ago.
Tanya F — Google review
Lovely two-floor shop with products on the ground floor and a brand history explanation on the first floor. There are so many scents to choose from and the workers are friendly. There is a small section at the Porto airport as well, but only bigger size soaps with limited options and no other products. So if you like the small size soap, specific scents and perfume etc, buy it in the store. If you are not picky, wait to buy at the airport as the price is directly tax free.

Claus Porto is a heritage Portuguese brand known for its luxurious soaps, fragrances, and grooming products. Established in 1887, it blends old-world craftsmanship with bold, Art Deco-inspired packaging. The soaps are triple-milled, long-lasting, and infused with high-quality ingredients like shea butter and essential oils, offering rich lather and elegant scents
Kirk P — Google review
A unique place to pick up gifts or souvenirs while travelling. The store is beautiful, they have a wide range of scents and products. The staff are friendly but not intrusive, so you can browse in peace. The museum about the brand’s history is also very interesting.
Rachel K — Google review
This is a shop my wife and 6 year old daughter wanted to visit after we saw it featured in a travel show. My wife wanted to visit because she needed more soaps. My daughter wanted to visit because she wanted to wash her hands in the huge sink. Walking into the store, my wife loved the environment. She said it was very relaxing and welcoming. We smelled the different scented soaps and my daughter was extremely vocal about the ones she liked and the ones that were “stinky”. Of course, it was her goal to wash her hands in the big sink so somehow she managed to get it done. The employees were extremely patient with her as they explained the best way to lather the soaps to wash hands. In the end, my daughter probably washed her hands longer than ever before because of that huge sink and her goal of washing her hands there. After we picked out some soaps for ourselves and for gifts, they also gave my daughter a tiny bar of soap with the scent she used to wash her hands. My daughter was so happy. When we returned to the hotel, the first thing she did was open the soap and washed her hands. She let me use the soap once, but then told me it was her soap and that I wasn’t to touch it. Kids. Yes, the price of the soaps is on the high side. However, the soap is really nice. My wife and my daughter love the soaps and I was happy with the service they provided. My wife also likes that the soap is more “hard” and not soft like some other natural soaps she purchases in Canada. Overall, the price I feel is worth it because of the unique scents, the experience in the shop trying each scent, and the service provided. Everything feels high end.
Jonathan L — Google review
Finding this shop is possibly the highlight of my trip to Porto. It’s so gorgeous! The floor tiles are unbelievable and the large marble sink at the back of the shop is beyond beautiful. Then there is the soap. Absolutely stunning — so sophisticated and impeccably packaged and designed. And the woman, Maria, who help us was beyond fabulous. So gracious, so sweet, speaks perfect English and she clearly loves the products Claus Porto sells. We adore her and will probably go back and buy more things just because she was so charming and fun. A++++

Restaurant
CRU Restaurante is a unique space that supports young fashion designers by providing ateliers, showrooms, and a shop for them to work together on a common concept. The restaurant offers timely service with a small team of chef and server. The menu features creative dishes like salmon tartare with apple puree and honey, white fish carpaccio with olives, and braised tuna covered in sesame seeds.
The waiter is very friendly, knows exactly what you want and is very smart. Food is great and recommend lemon ice cream with salted caramel cake. Brilliant restaurant!!!!

Tucked away in a charming little street, this restaurant was an absolute delight. The food was delicious, and we truly enjoyed every bite. What made the experience even more special was the warm and welcoming service, especially from the lovely female server who was incredibly kind and attentive. We felt genuinely welcome from the moment we arrived. A fantastic experience all around, highly recommended.

Sunday evening and many restaurants closed, however, Cru welcomed us and we had a superb meal. A short but varied and freshly cooked menu with options for all tastes. One of the best meals we have had in Porto, would recommend without hesitation. Great and friendly service, give it a try!

Emma H — Google review
Our first night in Porto and we found this lovely chilled restaurant. Starter really lovely and the rose wine Pechca is fruity and refreshing. Ceviche was lovely but the bacalhau we found quite dry and heavy. It is a mix of fried cod, chips and egg. As a suggestion maybe keep the egg a little runny so that you have some source to break up the stodginess. However, the staff are lovely and we certainly will return if we are that way again.
Suzann T — Google review
We were looking for a nice spot for dinner and we read a review for the 41 bar which sounded interesting. When we were looking for 41 we found this restaurant. Wonderful food and a great waiter with whom we discussed politics, economics, food and port. The sea bass was great and the 40 year old tawny Burmeester was a great end to the meal. Highly recommended.

very good location, we ate outside on the terrace, perhaps a very small space for three people, inside its very nice. Still we loved it, because the waiter was very very friendly, and the food was delicious, very good price for what you can find in Porto

Came here with a friend and had a great time. A 2 person operation: chef and server but still timely service. Had the salmon tartare with apple and it was amazing. Didn’t know salmon could go so well with apple purée with some honey and pistachios. Our server David was so kind and recommended the white fish carpaccio with olives. It was delicious and the olives weren’t overly sour. Also had the braised tuna that was covered with sesame seeds. Personally not a fan of tuna but it was fresh. Would skip the shrimp tempura due to the size of the shrimp used but still delicious. David found out that it was our first night and time in Portugal so he offered a red port tonic with red berries on the house. Refreshing and a wonderful gesture.

Mercado Porto Belo, located in the beautiful Praca de Carlos Alberto, draws inspiration from London's Portobello Road market. This under-the-radar gem offers a diverse range of goods for sale on Saturday afternoons, including clothing items, vinyl records, vintage accessories, and handmade crafts.
Sunday markets & Fuchic is a charming, family-run business with a true appreciation for craftsmanship. The beautifully handcrafted leather wallets and classic purses showcase timeless style and exceptional quality. My wife and daughter each found a purse they loved, appreciating the pure leather and elegant designs. Beyond the leather goods, Fuchic also carries an impressive selection of antiques and unique, beautifully aged tiles, adding a touch of history and artistry to the space. It’s a treasure trove for anyone who values handcrafted work and vintage finds. Highly recommended for those looking to find something truly special and authentic!

Nomad Steps offers unique guided tours for families, including tuk-tuk rides and Douro Valley walks with snacks and lunch. Travelers have praised the punctuality, comfort, and thoughtful curation of Timur's tours. The Duoro Valley wine tour includes a boat ride and visits to D'Origem for wine and olive oil tastings.
Nomad Steps, Private Tours is the best tour company in Portugal. The owner, Timur’s attention to detail is outstanding. His suggestions for sites to see and restaurants to visit while we were transferred between Lisbon and Porto and back, as well as to the Douro Valley were spot on. Our driver and guide for three days, Jose was fantastic. His knowledge and concern for our well being, safety and enjoyment made the trip even better. Would highly recommend Timur’s company!
Beth R — Google review
Could not BEGIN to recommend this tour and Timur any more!! We had 2 recommended wineries, a quaint boat tour with drinks, and a short list of lunches we were able to choose from, and each was absolutely fantastic. We had come in originally with our own ideas of places to go, but Timur knew the places to go and has great connections with the different places we went. If you are looking for a great day, you need to go to him and listen to whatever he suggests — he is the BEST.
Erin L — Google review
We used Nomad Steps from Lisbon to Porto. They provided an amazing experience stopping on the way to Porto and then back to Lisbon to tour various towns. A highlight was a day trip to Duoro Valley. Timur was fantastic, telling us interesting facts about where we were visiting but also about Portugal on various topics. It made for a very enriched vacation. Without using this service we would have missed out on unique insights and experiences that were curated specifically to our interests. Do yourself a favor and use this service to make your vacation to Portugal extra special.

Timur made our experience of exploring the Douro valley unbelievable. We didn’t know much about the Douro valley or port wine but he was very knowledgeable and provided insight that other port wine tours didn’t mention. He was extremely kind and catered to our every need. He went above and beyond to make sure our trip was unforgettable. He even dropped us off at the beach and helped us get into a very popular restaurant when we were finishing our tour. I would HIGHLY recommend his tours and have already recommended him to friends who are going to Portugal next month. I would give more than 5 stars, if possible.
Nolan W — Google review
This is easily our top experience while staying in Porto. Our group had 4 adult + 1 toddler (16 month), and the private tour is a no-brainer compared to other group tour options. Our guide Timur was very nice and knowledgeable. The whole day's itinerary is very well put together, with enough activities/winery visits and not too rushed. We also really enjoyed the lunch option recommended by Timur. Overall, highly recommend this tour to anyone who's interested in visiting the Douro Valley.
Marcus M — Google review

Always with a great smile and willing to assist in any possible way. Overall a wonderful experience! Highly recommend people take this tours with him!

We had the best day with Timur! His English was excellent, we learned so much about the Douro Valley and had excellent wine and port. The boat ride was such a fun bonus, and he was a great driver too. He was so nice and personable- our whole family loved him. We couldn’t recommend Timur more!
Kinsey K — Google review
Just got back from an amazing wine tasting tour of the Douro Valley, and I have to give a huge shoutout to our guide, Jose! Honestly, he made the whole experience so much fun and totally memorable. You can tell he’s super passionate about wine and really knows his stuff — but he explains everything in such a relaxed, down-to-earth way that even if you’re new to wine, you’ll feel right at home. Jose took us through some incredible wines, sharing cool stories about the vineyards and the history behind each bottle. It wasn’t just about tasting wine; it felt like we were on a little adventure, discovering hidden gems and learning what makes each wine unique. Plus, the vibe was really chill and friendly, which made the whole day feel special and easygoing. If you love wine or just want to try something new while having a great time, I can’t recommend Nomad Steps tour enough. Seriously, don’t miss it!

Amazing porto! We had a tour with a French guide, he was entertaining and interesting. We had the High end tasting of their VVOP (145euros). From the 20-30-40-50 yrs porto and then the 80+ yrs VVOP. All spectacular.

Rude, bad presentation, don't want us go upstairs. Told us the price at the window like it's meat. Didn't feel welcomed at all.

Notions store
When exploring the charming streets of Rua Formosa, make sure to visit Merceria, a delightful sewing notions store that has been a staple in the community for over a century. This hidden gem offers an impressive selection of yarn and sewing supplies at reasonable prices, making it a must-visit for craft enthusiasts. The friendly owner is always ready to assist you in finding exactly what you need.
This sewing notions store also sells yarn. Many choices. I purchased 100% cotton for a very reasonable price. Several other wool shops i atopped at were much higher. This shop is a little difficult to find but well worth a stop. The owner was a friendly and helpful proprietor. Would highly reccomend shopping here
