Nestled in the heart of Whitehorse, the MacBride Museum of Yukon History is a treasure trove for history enthusiasts and curious travelers alike. This charming museum may not be vast, but it boasts an impressive array of exhibits that delve into the region's rich natural, social, economic, and industrial past. Visitors can explore artifacts from the iconic gold rush era alongside fascinating insights into Yukon First Nations culture.
Interesting museum with lots to see. The staff is super nice and friendly. I especially love the wildlife section. They really put a lot of work into preserving those specimens. Look so real! The costumes and history sections are very interesting and informative too. Definitely worth visiting if you travel to here.

An excellent and well laid out museum with plenty to see and explore. I particularly like the number of full size dioramas setup to recreate the look of the past. Staff is very friendly and helpful. They have tours available, but I didn't have time to explore as unfortunately on Wednesday they open at 1pm instead of the usual 9:30am, so I didn't have enough time. This is just during the summer. Overall, I highly recommend visiting if you have the time.

The young ladies at the main floor were lovely, and I believe one of them, it was her first day. You both were simply wonderful!

Great local downtown museum in Whitehorse knowledgeable staff and tours available. We self directed and took our time about 3/4 hour.

The MacBride Museum of Yukon History in Whitehorse stands as the territory's inaugural institution of its kind, established in 1952 by the Yukon Historical Society. Housed in a recently expanded facility, it presents a comprehensive collection exceeding 40,000 artifacts that chronicle the resilient heritage of Yukon, encompassing Indigenous narratives, the natural environment, the Klondike Gold Rush, and the evolution of Whitehorse as the territorial capital. Visitors benefit from meticulously curated galleries, interactive demonstrations such as gold panning, and educational programs conducted year-round, rendering it an exemplary resource for understanding Canada's northern frontier.
Francis H — Google review
Beautiful First Nations Artifacts, Klondike Goldrush, geological and Animal taxidermy specimens. Well worth the price of admission!
Kay S — Google review
Absolutely a must visit. Give yourself a few hours.
Dan M — Google review
This museum shines a light on all things about the history of Yukon. There are displays on First Nations culture, native animals (taxidermy), communications, and even the Sam McGee (made famous by the Robert Service poem, the Cremation of Sam McGee) house. There are all sorts of artifacts from the history of the area. It would be easy to spend an entire day here.

Miles Canyon, a recreational canyon formed 8.5 million years ago, offers stunning basalt cliffs, scenic trails, rushing rapids, and diverse wildlife. This historic site was once a challenging passage for gold seekers traveling from Skagway to the Yukon River in hopes of striking it rich. The area's significance is reflected in the development of the settlement known as Whitehorse due to the foaming waters resembling white steeds.
Wish I'd had more time for hiking. Gorgeous emerald waters. Lovely purple crocus. No problem with parking when I was there. Not far off the main road, near Whitehorse.
Lisa C — Google review
A lovely, scenic place for a short walk or hike! Great views of the river and valley.
Colton B — Google review
It is not far from Whitehorse town. The color of the water was pure dark green. Easy to access a suspension bridge. It allows visitors to hike along a miles trail.

The Yukon Beringia Interpretive Centre is a must-visit natural history museum in Whitehorse, Yukon. It showcases the history and culture of the Beringia region through archaeological exhibits, artifacts, fossils, and First Nation displays. The center offers free 30-minute guided tours providing an overview of its collections and research.
We stopped here on a rest day and really enjoyed this Interpretive centre. The staff is very knowledgeable and very friendly. The video was very informative. They have some great artifacts. If you do the combination admission, you can take the walking trail over to the Museum of Transportation. There is plenty of parking if you have your RV, so it definitely is worth the stop along your travels.
Donna S — Google review
Really interesting museum but you will go through it somewhat quickly. Would recommend watching the movie that screens throughout the day.
Christa S — Google review
Not very large but super informative. I really learned a lot about local pre-history. Definitely worth a stop. Won't take you longer than 1.5 hours at most.
S M — Google review
Was cool to visit this museum, Learned a lot I didn't know before about the age, especially why some larger parts of Yukon was ice free and why, will not give everything away here, so yes if your in Whitehorse it's differently a worthwhile visit
Gerry D — Google review
Great stop. Our guide Tracy was OUTSTANDING!!! Hilarious, knowledgeable. Stop for the mummified wolf pup, horse and caribou!
Paula D — Google review
One of our fav Places in Whitehorse! Loved the Short-film, very interesting and educational-AMAZING!

I feels great to have a free tour which is both awesome and informative. The video shown is short and fun. Nice display of artifacts and multiple stations for kids to learn and experiment. Definitely would revisit given a chance.
Sumeet S — Google review
Very informative. I did not know that such a thing as a land sloth existed, its so huge and looks like a monster from D&D. I love it! The large canvas painting at the end was completely stunning. The preserved animals were very cool too. I mean I knew about the land bridge but didn't realize that area got so large! This place was very enlightening and educational.

The Kwanlin Dün Cultural Centre (KDCC) is a captivating destination for those interested in learning about the rich cultural heritage and history of the Kwanlin Dün First Nations. Situated along the picturesque banks of the Yukon River, this center offers visitors a chance to explore rare cultural artifacts, Indigenous art exhibits, and rotating displays from local and Canadian artists. It serves as both a community gathering place and an educational hub for sharing traditions with outsiders.
Beautiful artifacts and history in the building. Well worth the visit!
Kay S — Google review
Beautiful centre alongside the Yukon River. Met a gentleman inside who was related to many of the individuals in photos on display and he was able to recount many stories of the times. Same gentleman started learning his ancestral language at age 60 . Wonderful place to visit and learn.
Marcel D — Google review
As we visited on a Sunday, there were almost no people in the building. A kind employee, however, opened up the gallery for us, where we were able to see a great exhibit on modern Indigenous fashion. We also strolled in the centre's main hallway, where information panels and exhibits described the history of local First Nations. The next time I am in Whitehorse, I will aim to come during the week so I can learn more about the Kwanlin Dün First Nation.
James C — Google review
The activities of the White Horse Chamber of Commerce are really wonderful. Unfortunately, the tickets are a little expensive and we can't get in. But it gives us a new inspiration to find a member company certified by the Chamber of Commerce. They should be able to provide better treatment. And there were other activities that night, which were also very interesting, but unfortunately there were not many people. I had expected to have DJ dancing, but there was no.
Gateberg F — Google review
Attended a friend's wedding here. Would 100% recommend as a venue for Whitehorse events!! Ample free parking, right by the river. Facilities are clean and modern.
Wilson H — Google review
A beautiful place. I recommend going to the shop there if you want to buy gifts or souvenirs that are produced by local artists.
Stéphane S — Google review
I came to the winter market here which was indoor, warm and had controlled entry due to COVID-19. I felt really comfortable and at ease here. They have really nice and clean washrooms and hand sanitizers ready for use anytime. The items they sell were local produced honey, handicrafts, art etc. It's a pretty nice place to shop and support local businesses especially during such difficult times. Apparently this is a yearly affair so stay tuned during each Christmas period and it lasts for 12 days if I didn't remember wrongly. Some of the items are really popular and run out really fast so if you see something you like, don't hesitate. All in all the place is clean, staff really friendly and not rude. Some places have staff who hate their job absolutely and don't bother to make life for visitors. When you enter, the staff do greet you and check that you put on your masks properly (which is really important to me during such a difficult and dangerous pandemic period). Not totally my kind of place to visit, but all in all the experience is really good, 4 stars is well deserved.
Luke — Google review
Wow!! What a beautiful building and history it has to tell. It is a cultural center / Conference center so it is a hybrid building, but totally worth the visit. A wonderful human took some time to give us pamphlets and made us feel welcome. I'd recommend making a stop here

The Yukon Transportation Museum is a must-visit for those interested in the history of transportation in the remote Yukon region. The museum features exhibits on various modes of transport, including planes, trains, and automobiles that played a crucial role in shaping Whitehorse and the Yukon Territory. It offers an engaging experience for both adults and children, with special emphasis on educating young visitors about the region's transportation history.
Don’t miss this! We had a few hours to fill before our flight and this exceeded our expectations. I loved some of the humorous captioning and the display styling was brilliant. There’s loads to see and we learned so much. The gift shop had some really interesting items including artwork and blueprints. Definitely worth it!
Kate A — Google review
Unfortunately it was closed the day we were planning on going there. But even from the outside there are a lot of vehicles to see and admire. Will have to come back sometime.
Colton B — Google review
We bought a combination admission and after visiting the Yukon Beringia Interpretive Centre, we took the walking trail over to the Yukon Transportation Museum. They had a lot of interesting vehicles and history about their artifacts. There was information on some artifacts that I never knew, so it was great information. This was definitely worth the stop. They have plenty of parking, even if you are in an RV.
Donna S — Google review
I had several hours before my flight, and it's only a 5 minute walk from the terminal so I decided to check it out. It's not a huge museum, but they have a very good collection of different types of transportation history in Yukon, with lots of exhibits both inside and out. Definitely worth visiting if you have some extra time waiting for a delayed flight out of the airport.
Malcolm G — Google review
We went and spent the afternoon at the museum on Sept 7th. What a wonderful treasure in Whitehorse. There was so much history and artifacts. We couldn't read it all.
Mary-Ann T — Google review
I loved loved loved this place. It's not huge but it's really well curated and shows a great sampling of the transportation history for the area. There's lots of great exhibits inside and the outside area has lots of interesting pieces of equipment as well. The train diorama and the stories that go along with it were a big hit with everyone but my favourite had to be the bush pilot room. The staff at the museum were all really friendly and happy to answer any questions I had, they even offered me a guided tour when they saw how enthusiastic about the bush pilot room I was. I could have easily spent 4-5 (or more) hours there, we were a bit shy on time but managed to see most of it in about 2.
Chris D — Google review
Adult tickets are around $10 each. We were a little surprised considering the scale and modest set up. But after we get in, we immediately like the museum. You can tell they put lots of thoughts into it,m. Things are curated in a very interesting way. I assume the cost of running this little museum could be pretty high, so the cost are reasonable. It’s a fun way to know more about Whitehorse from the perspective of transportation. We spent 30-40 mins in there then we have to leave for our flight. If I get a chance to go back, I’d plan 1.5 hr for this place.
Zoey Z — Google review
This is a great way to see the Yukon, a must see, come for the sights and stay for the history. We had a tour of the museum delivered with such Excitement it was so fun, Thanks to Nicole. The working model train was so cool. It travels through Whitehorse, Carcross and White Pass with awesome model planes in the sky over head. There were so many model planes, scrutinized for accuracy, plus the bonus of real ones as well. It was so cool to be immersed the amazing history of the Yukon.

The Old Log Church Museum, established in 1900, is a significant landmark in Whitehorse and offers a captivating glimpse into the early days of pioneers and missionaries in the Yukon. This historic Anglican church provides guided tours that explore various themes such as the history of the Anglican Church in Yukon and the contributions of women during that era.
This church is filled with the true history of Whitehorse and the Yukon. The building was built in 1900 and very little has changed...I know...I sang here in 1959. The two guides are young university students from Whitehorse and are fantastic. This should be a must-see place in Whitehorse.

Lots of artifacts in the Old Log Church Museum. Staff were friendly. Worth the visit!
Kay S — Google review
We didn’t go inside the church, but the space next to it with the benches conveys an incredible sense of peace. It can be an escape after work that helps you connect with nature right in the middle of Downtown. It’s a great hideaway in plain sight.

Nice little old church showing the history of the development of the church in Yukon in the nineteenhundreds. Very informative

Yukon Art Society & Arts Underground is a valuable resource for artists in and around Whitehorse, offering connections to the wider Yukon art community. It provides a space for artists to showcase and sell their work, as well as access to various workshops and programs. Additionally, it serves as a convenient source for art supplies. The gallery shop offers locally made cards and gifts, making it a recommended stop for visitors.
As an artist living in a community outside of Whitehorse I find Arts Underground provides an excellent connection to the larger Yukon art community. I appreciate having a space in the city to show and sell my work and access to various workshops and programs provided by the Yukon Art Society. It is also handy to have a local place to buy art supplies. The gallery shop is a good place to purchase locally made cards and gifts and I always recommend it to visitors.

Over the last couple years, I've been associated with Arts Underground as a member of the Yukon Arts Society. The curatorial staff as well as front of house are extremely helpful and knowledgeable. After following them on social media, they often have sales and deals on art products which helps a lot!

Historic Sites
The S.S. Klondike National Historic Site is a vintage sternwheeler ship reminiscent of those that navigated the Yukon River during the 1898 Klondike Gold Rush. Operated by Parks Canada, this site offers a captivating journey through history, with lively interpreters in period costume sharing tales of adventure and fortune-hunters in the Klondike goldfields.
The SS Klondike is a historic sternwheeler vessel, now preserved as a National Historic Site of Canada in Whitehorse, Yukon Territory. It represents one of the last remaining examples of steam-powered paddlewheelers that played a crucial role in the transportation of goods and passengers along the Yukon River during the early 20th century. Originally constructed in 1929 by the British Yukon Navigation Company, the ship was designed to carry freight between Whitehorse and Dawson City. It sank in 1936 due to an accident but was subsequently rebuilt and relaunched as the SS Klondike II in 1937, with enhanced capacity for cargo and passengers. The vessel operated until 1955, when river transportation declined due to the development of road infrastructure. It was then moved to its current dry-docked location on the banks of the Yukon River, adjacent to the Robert Campbell Bridge in Whitehorse, where it serves as a museum exhibit illustrating the evolution of Yukon River navigation and life during that era. As of September 2025, the SS Klondike is undergoing a $14 million restoration project to address structural issues and ensure waterproofing, rendering it temporarily closed to visitors. Managed by Parks Canada, the site offers educational insights into the region's transportation history upon reopening.
Francis H — Google review
It's a bit unfair to rate this site as the S.S. Klondike is closed to the public as it is currently being restored. The Parks Canada welcome centre, however, is open, as are the grounds, a small cinema showing the movie, “In the Days of the Riverboats,” and an escape room. Once this famous riverboat reopens to the public it will likely become again a must-see attraction in Whitehorse. For now, however, you can prioritize going to the many other fun sites and activities on offer in Whitehorse and surrounding areas.
James C — Google review
I was quite disappointed that the boat is inaccessible because of restoration. You can only view it from outside the fencing that is all around it. I realize projects like this are necessary sometimes, but they need to have a much more prominent notice on their website about it being closed. Or better yet actually close it and put all the resources into completing the restoration in a more timely manner.
Malcolm G — Google review
We stopped here even though the boat is currently closed to the public. They are restoring it and will be reopened in the future. They have a small visitor centre and the staff was very nice. There is still plenty of information about the boat without being able to go invitation. There are also some red Adirondack chairs that are part of Parks Canada. It was fun taking our pictures in the chairs.
Donna S — Google review
The site was cute. The shop was being restored, so we couldn't for the boat. It is supposed to be done by 2029 according to the young man in the info center. Some nice souvenirs. Two cute cabins--one with an 18- minute video about the shop and the other seemed to be an escape room.
Melody M — Google review
Stopped in to visit this museum and ended up hopping on a tour that had just started for an extra $10. The tour was interesting, very professionally done by parks Canada, and the other visitors struck up a conversation and asked good questions. I recommend the tour rather than just looking around, as you feel more like you have experienced the real thing.
William S — Google review
I didn’t do the tour, but there was an informative historical video (about 20 minutes) and a brochure that was about $2 which explained everything you need to know about the boat. While the boat is undergoing repairs and only the lower level is able to be accessed at the time of writing (July 2023), it was still a worthwhile place to visit while in Whitehorse.
Dane B — Google review
It’s closed and probably closed until 2028. Maybe worth a visit if you are already passing through but otherwise not. Not much in the visitor Center. Other reviewers have said it is unfair to rate it poorly because its closed, but this just means the reviews are highly deceptive. They are being left by people who have not actually visited the boat. There is very little to see. The visitor centre is a small shop with a video running on a loop. If you are in the area and can drive by, sure, take a look and stretch your legs, but you will learn more about it using Youtube. You cannot see much. There are some really nice museums in town that are worth visiting instead. It is very deceptive of the staff to not let people know in advance that there is nothing really to see. They should update Google. I have visited twice in three years. Both times hoping it would open. Still closed.

The park features a picturesque walking trail along the Yukon River and an inclusive playground with a bright rubberized surface. It hosts various events throughout the year, including the summer Fireweed market and winter activities like ice skating and sledding.
Great little walk and lots to see art installations and historically didn’t eat but the smells were great

This is a beautiful park. My first time visiting and I would definitely come here if I lived in the area. Playgrounds are beautiful and very well kept up. There are trash cans and areas for recycling and a picnic area

Some of the original buildings of Whitehorse when the town is being settled located to this site. Information place for the buildings are very interesting to read. Great view of the fast flowing Yukon river. Seems to be the place for artist to come and work on their paintings as there were 6 different people painting the scenery of the river.
Dave B — Google review
I visited a couple of times for Canada Day and the farmers market. Great location along the Yukon River, for picnic, walking, or just enjoying the shows and the many vendors.
William S — Google review
Excellent park right on the Yukon River. Many historical facts around. Brand new playground just opened and ready to play on. Many picnic tables for families. The park is inclusive and %100 wheelchair accessible. Can book private events at the centre in the park.

Most outdoor events are hosted here, at the heart of downtown Whitehorse. During summer, there is Fireweed market. In the winter, there are ice ring and sledding hills. Shipyards Park is one of the best place to drain kid’s energy. Their new addition, Jumpstart Playground is the latest attraction.

Visitors praise the friendly and helpful staff who provide valuable tips on exploring not only Whitehorse but also other communities in the Yukon. The center's staff are known for going above and beyond, providing maps and information about areas with limited cell service, ensuring visitors have a memorable experience.
One of the best Visitor Information Centres I have ever visited. Spacious, well laid out with numerous types of information as well as a very friendly and knowledgeable staff. They take the time to listen to your questions and make recommendations not just hand a pamphlet like some places do. It's a must stop if you are going through the area.

I visited the Visitor Information Centre and had such a great experience! The lady working there was very friendly and welcoming. She kindly let me and my father watch the History of Yukon video in a cozy little cinema room — it was relaxing and very interesting to learn about Yukon’s past. The centre has a lot of tourism brochures and flyers about local attractions, tours, and activities — super helpful for visitors. The place is clean, comfortable, and full of useful information. Highly recommend stopping by if you’re in Whitehorse!

Well worth the visit. The attendant answered all my questions and offered some great suggestions as well. Will definitely utilize the time here. Too bad there was no swag to purchase. They did steer me in the right direction. Thank you

Great place to find out all of the information before starting our Yukon journey!! Staff were super helpful and friendly - all seemed happy to be there and answer all of your questions. It was here we were introduced to collecting stickers for this location and various other information centre locations throughout the Yukon. There is plenty of history and information - must see!!
Sophie V — Google review
It's beautiful and museum-like. I give it four stars because I saw the movie they have there and asked the attendants who the Indigenous artist from the movie was and they had no idea. It's a bit ridiculous that in an Indigenous territory they don't even know who the artist is. I asked about traditional food and they sent me to the pub? I feel that reconciliation and decolonization also involves educating your staff and being more mindful about Indigenous art you are using on your Visitor Information centre.

The Whitehorse Rapids Fishway, also known as the Fishladder, is a remarkable structure designed to assist native fish species, particularly Chinook Salmon, in bypassing the large power plant and dam on the Yukon River. It is the longest fish ladder in the world and offers a great opportunity for visitors to witness salmon making their way upstream during spring. The journey of these magnificent fish from the Pacific Ocean to their spawning grounds can be observed as they climb this impressive wooden fish ladder.
I highly enjoyed coming here with my family, as my children were delighted when they saw a salmon swim past the observation glass. All of us also learned a lot about the fish ladder--the longest wooden fish ladder in the world that allows fish to swim safely past the Yukon River dam--as well as the nearby fish hatchery that is part of the same program.

Great closes at 4:30 nice spot to see the fish jump and do stuff. Good spot for some photos.

Interesting display, helpful and informative staff and a very long fish ladder!

I had no idea what a fish ladder was until I stopped by this place. If you're visiting Whitehorse and want some easy outdoor activities, I recommend stopping by and walking along the pathways and watching the rapids from the bridge. It's an impressive current for sure!

Was an insightful Tuesday morning learning about Salmon’s life cycle. Amazing!

Really informative little institution, great for kids and adults (but maybe more for kids) to visit. Expect to spend maybe between 20 to 40 minutes or so there. It's not a very big place, but there's free parking, it's educational, and views are pretty, even on a rainy day. And no entrance fee (although there is a donations box, they don't pressure you to donate). Definitely worth a visit if you're in town while they're open. They're also very responsive on Facebook too.

The MacBride Copperbelt Mining Museum offers a unique experience for both kids and adults to explore the history of copper mining in the Yukon. Visitors can take a ride on the Copperbelt Railway, which provides an educational journey through the region's mining and rail history. The museum features an intriguing exhibition on early mining in the area, offering insight into this important aspect of Yukon's past. Additionally, there is a gift shop where visitors can find souvenirs to commemorate their visit.
Lots of artifacts from Indigenous peoples, the Klondike Goldrush era, as well as geological and animal sections. Staff were friendly and helpful. Well worth the visit!

While this small museum describes the region's mining copperbelt history, the main attraction is the train ride through the woods. Unfortunately, the train had unexpected mechanical problems when we took it. That said, if you have time, coming here for the train ride is worth it. However, if you only have limited time in Whitehorse, you may want to consider some of the area's many other attractions.

I love this place for the kiddies, it's a short little train ride, no commentary because kids lol but they so enjoy the little ride! There's also an awesome playground and picnic area in the back!

Yukon Arts Centre, located in Whitehorse, has been a cultural hub since 1995. It houses a diverse permanent collection of art by First Nations peoples of the North, including paintings, sculptures, photography, and textiles. The center also hosts special exhibits and events throughout the year. In addition to visual arts, it features a variety of performing arts events such as concerts and dance performances. The facility is known for its excellent music, dance, and theater programs.
Have been here for many shows, in particular the Available Light Film Festival which is an incredible event. If someone wants to have an intimate film festival experience without the hassles and logistics of getting around a big city, this is the film festival to come from! Outstanding films selected and the festival is extremely well run by many dedicated volunteers. I fly up from Vancouver for this and will again without a doubt.

I tried to address an issue with a refund that I was owed due to a feature listed on their ticket that they claimed was no longer available. they won’t take accountability for their mistake or honor my refund. This facility is great, but the administration does not appear to be.
Peter C — Google review
A couple of days ago I booked accessible tickets for performance tonight. Having a permanent physical disability I have to plan ahead and book a seat that works to accommodate my needs. Seat K1/K2 does just that and I always pay for these accessible seats. Let’s first start with the fact that this venue site doesn’t have near enough accessible parking spots for the number of people this place can hold. They have no problem having more than enough designated staff parking for arts centre staff and archives staff close to the entrance. As there was no available accessible parking tonight I had to park all the way down at the university residence where there was only one accessible sport left in the entire area. After I walked all the way to the entrance, I found out that the automatic push button door doesn’t work (this is suppose to help people with disabilities actually get into the building). Arts centre staff could get to have checked all this stuff out ahead of time … but they don’t! I go to see an usher to get my tickets scanned and peak my head into the theatre and all the seats are full in accessible seating (even my seats I purchased in advanced) not only that, they had added additional seating so more people were seating in the accessible seating area (pretty much making it not accessible) The usher seemed panicked and didn’t know what to do, the house manager asked me to wait in the lobby as they figured it out. I explained I wanted to sit in the accessible seats I purchased as those seats work for me. I was waiting in the lobby and the house manager came up to me along with some random dude who I had no clue who he was. And I was told that they had given out comp tickets and these folks were allowed in the accessible seating area to accommodate them (people that didn’t pay) I was then asked if I could move to the other section where accessible seating was. I said well I didn’t want to, but if that was my only option then I guess so, I then told the house manager that this is not ok. I get to the other side, and guess what the accessible seating section was full including a volunteer usher who was seating in the accessible seating area (best spot closest to the stairs). Again arts centre staff had allowed comp ticket folks to take up accessible seating and let one of their own volunteers sit in one of the best spots in the accessible seating section. As I stood there I watched the house manager ask people to move, and then asked me where I wanted to sit. This put me in an extremely awkward and uncomfortable situation as now I was being looked at as the one disturbing things. The volunteer usher didn’t even get out of her seat until she was told to by the house manager. I was finally seated and for the first twenty minutes of the show all I could think about is what a gong show the Yukon arts centre accessible patron experience standards were (there are none) I guarantee there are probably zero hours that employees/ volunteers of the arts centre and board have to do in terms of training in customer service to provide compassionate, accessible services to its patrons. Lastly I asked the usher if there was program of the show available and she said yeah it’s on a QR code. I said where’s the QR code, she said it’s in the lobby. Ummm 🤨 you think she would offer to get the QR code or have the QR code on a clip board that people with disabilities could scan easily… nope I had to get up and get it myself. She seemed upset the entire time I was there. I felt like I inconvenienced her. God forbid that a person with a physical disability was sitting in her designated usher chair. 😡 So yeah $70 for a good show, but completely ruined by the Yukon arts centre staff and volunteers asking the paying disabled patron to accommodate the non paying fully able bodied audience members, as well as not enough accessible parking, automatic doors, or accessible QR code

Wedding venue
Mount Sima, located near Whitehorse, offers a range of outdoor activities for nature enthusiasts. In winter, it is a popular spot for skiing and snowboarding with trails suitable for all skill levels. Additionally, the area is known for its freestyle terrain parks. During summer, Mount Sima transforms into a mountain biking destination. The resort also provides stunning views of Whitehorse and features chairlift access year-round. Moreover, the surrounding area offers opportunities for hiking and exploring the picturesque landscape.
So totally different from the crowds and crush of BC Lower Mainland ski hills and Whistler. Quiet, family oriented, fun, variety and decent snow. Oh and the view from the pub patio while you wait for your kids. 100% awesome 👌

I’ve loved Mount Sima since opening day! This mountain holds a special place in my heart. I’ve been coming here from the start and have watched it grow into a true gem. The skiing and snowboarding are always a blast, but what really stands out are the year-round activities. The mountain biking options are top-notch, with trails that challenge riders of all levels. The glamping setups are a fantastic addition, a perfect way to enjoy nature with comfort and style. Plus, the new disc golf course is a game changer for the summer season! Friendly staff, amazing views, and a real community vibe make Mount Sima a place I'll keep coming back to.
RYAN N — Google review
Went for their frisbee golf. Apparently my friend and I were the first ones I ever play the course. It was fun but the course definitely needed a lot of work. The “trails” between “holes” are ill defined and is more like off trail hiking with no real trail and quite a few hazards. Our legs and shoes were absolutely filthy by the end.
Richard R — Google review
Great terrain and trails at this ski resort, snow condition never disappoint. The tree run probably the best I've ever experienced than any other ski resorts I've been to. There are many side hit jump, and beautiful scenery up the mountain. The ski lift when going up is so high from the ground, I feel terrified sometimes.
King M — Google review
I recently spent three days straight here and absolutely loved every single moment of it. If you don’t feel apart of a small mountain community within 5 mins, I’ll refund ya! I’ve never experienced such a feeling at any other alpine destination. I wanted to try snowboarding but ended up loving the snogo bike and staying on that while exploring the mountain. The moving platform at the base of the chairlift is such a brilliant addition to a chairlift and takes away a lot of anxiety people may have. Nice and smooth loading. The runs are professionally groomed and so well maintained. There are neat jumps and drops made into areas and spots along the perimeter of most runs. There appears to be a few Olympic size jumps on a couple runs but I’m not at that level of cool yet lol. Pro tip: ask the awesome lift operator if you can do a “round the world” trip on the chairlift. They are more than willing to accommodate and Wow!!! What a cool perspective and makes for great instagrams lol. Thank you to every single one of the employees I had the pleasure of meeting. You all made my visit so awesome and a truly amazing experience. I can’t wait to come back this summer! 🤙🔱🎗️

If Mount Sima was a children's story, it'd have to be some sort of fairy tale about the underdog coming out on top. I've been riding here since the day it opened 28 years ago and I still have fun! With the incredible grooming, terrain parks and friendly staff you can't go wrong! I love Sima!

Great skiing from beginner all the way to advanced. While a small hill, the prices are also smaller than you expect from other places. Gear rental is available and you can also get lessons here as well. The chalet has both a cafeteria and a lounge for you to rest and recharge.

Rotary Peace Park is a serene public park located along the Yukon River, offering various amenities for visitors to enjoy. The park features a fantastic playground suitable for children of different ages, with engaging activities like blind grounders and volleyball games. Families can make use of the picnic tables and undercover area, while kids can have fun at the water spray area. Additionally, there are clean bathrooms available on-site.
The new playground is just great! Got there and a group of high school kids were playing blind grounders. They moved on and a bunch of young kids filled in with a good stretch of age between them. This park has the potential to keep a good sized group of kids, with a wide age range, busy for awhile. My daugther is almost four and she was able to access the whole park by herself, minus the main monkey bars. With a lift she could use the short zip handles in the monkey bar section. The monkey bars have good variety and numerous challenges. The little kid section of bars is a solid addition. If only it had a zip handle section too. Little kids love the blocks that boost them up to use the zip at the CGC Independently. If only the park had a section that didn't need blocks. It's not the biggest, best park out there, but it's a solid new park that's way better than its predecessor.

Great little area right along the river. It has a lovely playground, picnic tables for you to eat, and also an undercover area in case it rains. Pair it with a lovely summer evening, and you’ll have the chance to join in on some fairly competitive volleyball games.

Great park in which to spend good times with friends or family. It has a large grassy area, very well arranged. There are picnic tables where you can rest and eat, 2 volleyball courts and a playground with all kinds of things where children can have fun. There is even a small space with water fountains in which to have a good time in summer. In addition, it has a parquing. Well, a lovely park next to the river and next to the Millennium Trail where we spend very good times.

Whether you're seeking adventure on horseback or a thrilling dogsled tour, this ranch has something for everyone. New this summer are exciting options like "Hike with the Huskies" and "Salmon BBQ and Kennel Tour," perfect for those looking to immerse themselves in nature. For a memorable outing, consider booking their half-day dogsledding adventure.
We had a great half day dog sledding tour with our guide Jonathan! The dogs are absolutely amazing and our guide explained everything really well. There were a few tricky turns and downhill areas on the trail which all added to the adventure. This was definitely the highlight of our stay in Whitehorse and I cannot recommend this place enough 😄 Jonathan also captured the moment my now fiancé asked me to marry him during one of the breaks on the tour, thanks so much! 😊

I have been wanting to do a trail ride for a long time after learning about this place and following their Instagram. I finally got to go a week ago (I booked it really early because I knew I only had that one free day in my vacation schedule). Easy to book, they even picked me up (for a small added fee). I chatted with the manager who was very friendly and gave me lots of info on the ranch. Kristina was my guide, the other riders cancelled that afternoon so it was just her and I. It felt like a couple of hours with one of my good friends! We rode up to a beautiful lookoff and down to the shore of the lake, and she took some pictures and video of me along the way. I went into it really nervous of bears and I almost forgot while we were out. We chatted along the way, she was so nice but also very professional and I felt safe the whole time. I would highly recommend this ranch! The horses we rode were well looked after and you can tell these are animal lovers at this place. Even though the weather wasn’t great, I had an absolute blast and would definitely go back again if I find myself back in the Yukon!

Had a fantastic trail riding experience with Sky High Wilderness Ranch. As a beginner I found the horses to be very gentle and easy going to ride. They are well taken care of. Our guide, Kristina, was an experienced and competent leader. In the future I would likely opt for longer ride, as 2hrs flew by. Such a beautiful location to ride in!

My friend and I are not experienced riders, but we had a wonderful one-hour trail ride with our guides, Charlotte and Kristina. They made us feel safe and at ease from the start, and were an absolute pleasure to ride with—knowledgeable, charming, and clearly capable. We highly recommend a visit to Sky High Wilderness Ranch, situated on scenic Fish Lake!

My partner and I went on a half day hike with three of the dogs and it was the highlight of our trip! Our guide Charlotte was the best and it felt like we had made a friend by the end of the hike. The whole hike was beautiful, the dogs were energetic and fun and Charlotte informed us about the history of the area. Would recommend Sky High Wilderness Ranch to anyone visiting Whitehorse. Thanks so much for the great adventure!

One of the highlights of our trip to the Yukon. The dog cart and horse ride were both fantastic, as was our guide, Kristina!! The trip was very well organized, the scenery was great, and we very much enjoyed the company. We highly recommend the experience. Kristina, please give Aspen and the puppies a big hug for us. I hope we get to cross paths again!

We booked the half day dogsledding tour, it was definitely a wonderful and amazing experience. Jocelyn was extremely helpful and the tour guide we had was also very good. It was very easy to follow the tour guide and hold on to the sled. There were few tricky turns, ups and downs; but, it was well worth it. The dogs are very strong and can really pull. Once the tour was completed we enjoyed snacks and hot beverages in a heated yurt. I will definitely be coming back in the future for another tour.

Gorgeous products & stellar service! I ordered a beautiful bracelet as a gift for my mom. I was however concerned that I wouldn’t get my parcel in time (due to postal strikes) before I left the country. Simon went out of his way to arrange alternative shipping and covered the additional costs, to ensure I received my package in time to make the 15 589 km trip to South Africa! There is a lot of variety and the prices are more reasonable than other locations. In order to get help, I had to seek out service. The first time we stopped in, the staff had no idea about the artists or the materials certain products were made of. They continued to ask each other and seemed confused & flustered. If you are in Whitehorse and are looking for a guided canoe tour, then you should definitely check out this company. My family of five hired a guide for a four-hour, 20 km canoe trip down the Yukon Rriver that was simply brilliant. With all of us traveling in the same canoe, our friendly and insightful guide told us about local history, as well as bringing us close to wildlife (e.g. we canoed past two beaver dams). Overall, this was one of the highlights for me during our nearly two-week stay in the Yukon.
James C — Google review
Great place to rent if you want to canoe down the Yukon river. Easy access to load the canoe, while parking is also readily available. The canoe was is great shape, and the price was reasonable. The only thing was the paddles stained my hands black, and it was hard to get off. Customer service could have been a bit friendlier.

Scott and the team here are the nicest and most helpful people I've ever met. We used them this July to successfully complete the Yukon 1000 race. I'd originally put a deposit down in 2020 but due to covid this was delayed 2 years. They kept to the original price quoted (unlike other local companies) and despite some people saying the kit was old, we were given great spray skirts and the kayak was really good - double kevlar with dual steering. It was well maintained and came with a spare paddle etc. We took it for a test trip the day before the race and on the day itself Scott turned up well in time. In short - don't listen to any competitors' rumours that the kit isn't good, it's great value with no stress advice throughout. Thanks Scott and team - keep up the good work!

At the stunning Waterfront, you can experience the unique Whitehorse Fishway, which boasts the title of being the longest wooden fish ladder in the world at an impressive 366 meters. This remarkable structure allows you to observe salmon as they navigate their way past a hydroelectric plant just south of town. It's a fascinating spot where nature and engineering come together beautifully!

The Canada Games Centre Whitehorse is a modern community sports and wellness facility located at 200 Hamilton Blvd. It offers a range of amenities including a lap pool, family leisure pool with water slide, lazy river, gym court, soccer field, ice pad, sauna and steam room. The center is adjacent to the Mt Mac X country ski trails.
Loved going swimming and an inside playground. Super busy on a weekend though.

Good experience- definitely pretty pricey for the pool compared To other places I’ve travelled too, not busy st all, relaxing but sauna could be hotter ( it was set to 60 degrees which is standard I just prefer 80). Good showers but they get cut short pretty fast
Felix J — Google review
They have a descent size gym and many great facilities. I love the running track.
Juan S — Google review
It's a gigantic building with all kinds of activities, two large ice rinks and a small one for kids, a soccer/football court, tennis court, playroom for kids, gym for adults, pool, jaccuzzi, sauna, Subway restaurant and Booster Juice. This is definitely a good place to spend the long winters here.
Hannah P — Google review
We took our grandson (3yrs.) To the swimming pool and the indoor play area . The pool is amazing with a huge area for little kids and a big waterside and a lazy river also big area for adults to swim laps or whatever.
Richard N — Google review
Your amazing all under one roof recreation complex! Check schedules online to plan your visit. If your staying in the area, consider signing up for a registered program. Also have private room rentals available to combine with your drop-in. Always something fun inside.
Teresa A — Google review
Decent gym, pool lacks space for laps. One diving board. Great dry and steam saunas. Bring your own lock for the gym lockers. Only a couple that took change and they were full. Very beautiful place for a smaller city.

Fantastic gem of a community facility. Pool is great (lazy river, swing, water slides, hot tub, sauna, steam room, etc). There are soccer volleyball ice rink, and many other sport locations. Definitely visit.
