Had an amazing time on a half day guided kayaking tour with our guide, Tom. He was super knowledgeable about the area especially on the flora and fauna. We saw a spotted shag colony, eagle and sting rays, jellyfish and starfish and more! We were taken by car to Nagakuta Bay and guided around the shore and across the Sound, and its stunning scenery. Would highly recommend to all!

My friend and I recently did the half day sea kayaking tour. We were lucky and had a glorious sunny day, which meant that it did not get too cold despite it being quite windy at times! Our tour guide, Hannah, was very knowledgeable and she did an excellent job teaching us about the local area and ecosystems while we kayaked up and down the sounds! If you’re in the Picton area I would definitely recommend adding this to your list of activities!
Zac — Google review
Did the one day mountain bike trip from ship cove to punga bay. Bikes were good quality and well maintained and communication was good. The ride was really fun with great views. Their description of the difficulty of the ride is accurate, there is quite a lot of climbing and the whole track is bumpy so it is a tiring ride, but worth it!
Tom E — Google review
Our 5 day walk through Queen Charlotte Pass was superb and very well organised. Great communication and overnight accommodation. Highly recommend MS Adventure Company and the walk with a rest day.
Kirri B — Google review
Had the best morning out on the Marlborough Sounds with George as our guide. The team were super helpful and responsive when we booked last minute, George was so knowledgeable and friendly, and the trip itself was absolutely stunning. Highly recommend!
Jessica M — Google review
Easy booking process. Good communication prior to trip. Competitive pricing. Friendly personal service. Happy to use them again for our next adventure.
Dee W — Google review
Outstanding service accompanied by a truly exceptional team, who adeptly accommodated our last-minute booking at an incredibly reasonable price. While I was on a cruise ship, I found that the tours offered there were significantly more expensive, yet provided less time on the water, making this experience not only more cost-effective but also more enjoyable. Our guide was supportive and very knowledge about the area and made the journey so much fun and relaxing
Garthy P — Google review
We felt very looked after on our 5 day (non guided) kayaking trip. Communication prior was great, and the team was super accomodating to get us dropped off and picked up near Havelock — even including a complimentary relocation of our car onwards to Picton. Was very impressed, and would definitely recommend. Good work team!

The Edwin Fox Museum is a captivating maritime museum that showcases the history of an 1853 teak vessel, which served as a merchant ship, transporting troops, immigrants, and convicts. This 160-year-old ship offers visitors the opportunity to step aboard and experience the scale of the vessel while learning about its intriguing past. As one of the world's oldest surviving merchant sailing ships and the only one that transported convicts to Australia, it provides a unique insight into maritime history.
Really interesting museum with a preserved 19th-century ship you can walk through. The displays are informative, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. A unique and worthwhile experience — definitely recommend stopping by if you're in Picton!
Sanjula — Google review
A must visit especially if you want to learn about your ancestors and how they came to New Zealand. Very interesting and lots of information about the ship that bought many of our ancestors to New Zealand. Interactive, good for kids and very interesting video. Worth spending at least an hour looking through. Staff were very knowledgeable and keen to help. Good variety of merchandise for sale.
Alison H — Google review
A small museum dedicated to the preservation (rather than restoration) of the Edwin Fox ship. Museum features friendly staff, several panels displaying information about the ship and seafaring of the era, numerous nautical artefacts, as well as paintings and models of the ship in her prime. The ship itself is located in a separate building, and was unfortunately closed to visitors during our visit. Despite this, we could easily examine the exterior of the ship. Well worth a look if you happen to be in Picton, my visit left me curious about the damage caused by ship worms.
Mark L — Google review
Wow this was a gem we didn't expect. A lovely museum full of stuff, a really interesting short movie about the Edwin Fox - and seeing a real 1853 convict ship in real life is one of those once in a lifetime things! Well worth the entry fee. Thankyou .
Tamara S — Google review
Edwin Fox was a great little find - I visited this while on holiday from Aus and loved the history, ship collection, artwork and video of the preservation of this ship. From peeking at it outside, getting in and seeing the size of the ship up close was amazing. I also love how they're working to preserve, not restore/replace the original state of this ship. Very well worth the visit for any maritime or history loving people :)
Erin M — Google review
It may not seem like much from the outside but this quite an interesting museum with well researched and well organized exhibits. The centerpiece is of course the ship Edwin Fox itself. But the story behind the ship how it came to be, what it was involved with during its heyday and through its subsequent demise as an ocean going vessel to become a stationary hulk was endemic of sail ships of that era. The information presented was extremely educational. Very impressive museum and highly recommended.
Ray N — Google review
Thoroughly enjoyed my visit to the Edwin Fox. The small museum is well laid out and very informative, going through the entire history of the ship. The 40-ish minute film is interesting and great watching, however I think it should be in a separate room to the exhibits as it can be distracting. Having the opportunity to walk on the actual ship at the end is fantastic and unique. Worth the $10 discounted Bookme entry fee (book in advance) to experience and learn about an amazing piece of history. I spent around 2 hours there.
Wild B — Google review
Outstanding exhibit of CONSERVATION and the history of the EDWIN FOX. The arrival and lovely advice cost and exhibit features encouraged us to view Thoroughly enjoyed the video and historical walk in museum and below deck Thanks so much to all involved...and really recommend a visit when you're in PICTON

EcoWorld Aquarium & Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre is a waterfront attraction in Marlborough Sounds, New Zealand, offering intimate experiences with native fish and reptiles. Visitors can enjoy tours, feedings, and close encounters with rare animals like the tuatara. The knowledgeable staff provide engaging experiences for families, including behind-the-scenes access to rescue penguins and hands-on interactions with various creatures.
One of the best places we visited in Picton. The aquarium was small but housed some amazing animals. We got the “behind the scenes” experience and it was so worth it being up close and personal to a beautiful rescue blue penguins.
Daithí K — Google review
Had a marvelous time here Exploring the aquarium, the tour lady was absolutely 💯% awesome, we so enjoyed seeing alot of things here and also learnt new stuff. Glad we got to see this place before it closes down, we'll done guys, awesome service.
Charlotte M — Google review
Firstly, very expensive, $52 for two adults. The aquarium has very nice and informative signposts but not much too see in terms of interesting animals or fish. Pretty bleak experience that is over in half an hour. There are so many awesome aquariums in the the world so you can skip this one and go to see the neighbouring museum, Edwin Fox, instead.
Thomas W — Google review
I was impressed with the amount of interest that this held with the kids. There was contact time with a tuatara and some rock-pool regulars, as well as quite a few larger species. I wouldn't have guessed any of that from the outside.
Greg B — Google review
For a town the size of Picton, this aquarium is quite interesting. There's plenty of displays, touch tanks, feeding tours, and other animals such as rabbits, birds and reptiles. Definitely worth a visit.
Liana W — Google review
This is a awesome way to spend time with your family they are always happy to answer any questions you may have it was also awesome being able to hold some of the animals its also really cool watching them feed the animals
Tech W — Google review
Cute aquarium in Picton, one of the few interesting things to visit in the small town. Was a bit pricy for what it had offered, but you had unlimited re-entry for the day. Had few cute blue penguins on exhibit.
J C — Google review
A great little aquarium! We were their for hours. If you can be there for feeding time, do it. They will take you round and explain about all the creatures.

Nature preserve
Kaipupu Sanctuary, located in Picton Harbour, New Zealand, was established in 2005 to protect and restore the native forest and wildlife of the area. The sanctuary is home to a variety of native New Zealand birds such as tuis, wood pigeons, falcons, and more. Visitors can also spot fur seals around the jetty. A predator-proof fence surrounds the sanctuary while a circular walking track offers a two-hour hike around the island.
Beautiful walk through amazing native bush close to civilisation (Picton) very east and great views
Dave P — Google review
Viewed from the outside, at Queen Charlotte Drive, view of the Port Log area also. This and Quail all flitting about in a short walk.
Brendan M — Google review
Had a nice walk around the free sanctuary after catching a water taxi ($80 return for 1-4 people) there. We were welcomed by a seal waiting at the jetty! Gave him plenty of room so he could get back into the water before we went through the gate and up to the path. Didn't see as many birds as we hoped, but did manage to see both a kereru and some fantails, and we heard bellbirds and tuis. Made for a good walk, but probably should have allowed more than the hour and a half that we did before the water taxi was due back, so we could have had a bit more of a leisurely stroll (and perhaps seen more birdlife!). Great views of the sound as we moved around the loop track.
Haldoor H — Google review
A really nice way to spend half a day. Nice scenic walk with so many birds. $25pp there and back, a bargain. We all want to go again 😍
Malinda P — Google review
Absolutely and totally not worth it. The price to get to this peninsula (its not an island) is extortionate as you have to get here via boat. You walk around for an hour or so in a circle and then you're done. You dont see any birds that you cant see from the mainland, and as nice as the views could be on a clear day, you seldom find a photo opportunity spot. The track is well maintained so its just about suitable for a baby stroller, but dont be fooled, this is just an hour's walk in the country which you can do for free all across New Zealand, only this one is $40 per person minimum price depending on which boat company you choose. Extortionate. What a rip off!!!!! AVOID!!!
Alan M — Google review
Beautiful place and great moment, you need to take a taxiboat around 40$ per person

So near and yet so far. Take a Beachcomber taxi trip and then walk the island. Stunning natural bush and walks.

Additionally, they offer efficient and helpful services for activities like mountain biking, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience for visitors.
Went on a two day kayaking trip and absolutely loved it. The Marlborough sounds are beautiful, and it was such a good experience to be able to see it from right on the water! Staff were super helpful and made the experience easy and fun, they helped us with planning according to our wishes, weather forecast, and tips and tricks from them:) They also lent us all the equipment we needed, including big dry bags for our sleeping bags and clothes, smaller day dry bags, maps of the sounds, and all safety equipment. Highly recommend!
Luna S — Google review
We did the 3 day adventure of hiking on day 1, biking on day 2 and then Kayaking on day 3. We were so impressed by this company, from start to finish it ran like a military operation. The bikes were delivered in time as promised as was the kayak on day 3. They offered easier alternatives if we were too tired (day 2 biking) and shorter routes for the Kayaking. The accommodation was excellent with really good restaurants. The views all the way are breathtaking. Everyone throughout was super friendly and relaxed. I would thoroughly recommend them!
C W — Google review
I went on the morning half day sea kayak and it was absolutely fantastic! Our guide was very knowledgeable of the wildlife and marine life as well as the history or the area. The trip had perfect weather and I was really happy to have gone on this tour.
Brynn L — Google review
We completed the four day unguided Queen Charlotte Track. What a great walk. A few tough climbs on day three and day four but the views were worth every step. Accommodation and food was excellent as was the service and support from Wilderness Guides.
Paul H — Google review
We chose to undertake the Queen Charlotte Track, guided and over five days. It was an amazing experience for the whole family, we had excellent weather which helped. The walk starts with a boat to an island nature reserve full of native wildlife before a second boat takes you to Ships Cove the start of the track. Jenna was an excellent guide and the accommodation, food and facilities were all excellent. A challenging walk but so enjoyable.
Martin F — Google review
1 Day Kayak Marlborough Sounds - 15/03/25 We had an amazing day with Jenna kayaking along the beautiful Queen Charlotte Sound. We got the van to Ngakuta Bay where we were given a run down of kit and the basics of kayaking (not something we do regularly). The kayaks had rudders we could steer with foot peddles, which made the steering much easier on the shoulders. We paddled across to Mistletoe Bay where we stopped for a delicious picnic lunch. Then a bit more kayaking back into Picton Harbour. They planned the route depending on the day's weather and wind, allowing us to be blown back into port at the end of the day as we got more tired! Jenna pointed out lots of birdlife along the way including shags and bellbirds, and we even spotted a fur seal exploring the coastline! She was very knowledgeable about the history and habitats of the surrounding area, as well as the local Maori legends and stories. It was a fascinating tour and an absolutely beautiful day - thank you Jenna and Wilderness Guides!
Kate J — Google review
Helen and Alex were WONDERFUL guides. Very knowledgeable about all aspects. As a very novice kayaker, the only downside was the final paddle from more main channel back to beach. The tides were not cooperating to assist as had been predicted. Helen was so good to come alongside and encourage us as we struggled a bit to return. Seeing the eagle rays, the abundance of birds, the moon jellies that you can touch (and being warned about the lion's mane jellies YOU CANNOT TOUCH) made for a wonderful day.
Tim U — Google review
Absolutely super time on the half-day kayak tour. Helen was brilliant - engaging, great company, and so much knowledge of the Sounds. Fab morning, 10/10 would recommend 👌

Marcella was a super nice tour leader, chauffeur, lot stories, good sense of humour and powerful, positive vibes. 🤗 Visited 4 wineries, small, mostly family run business and not the big ones. Amazing places and wines. 😋 Our last stop was a surprise, so don't spoiler, you need to book and you'll see 😉
Richard J — Google review
We had a lovely afternoon with our guide, Chris, and so glad we booked this wine tour! We visited 3 wineries and the staff were all so friendly and welcoming. Chris had great knowledge and we really enjoyed his company for the afternoon! Would highly recommend this tour, and Chris :)
Jade — Google review
A fun afternoon with a great guide Marcella . We visited 4 small wineries all a bit different and tried 4 different wines at each so definitely eat before you go and drink lots of water . At our last stop we bought a lovely cheese platter to stop the munchies too . All the wines were lovely and some were available to export too !

We had a lovely afternoon visiting boutique wineries. All the cellar doors staff were so friendly and informative. Sam, our host / tour guide was very knowledgeable and charming. Would highly recommend this tour.

We had an excellent half day wine tour with the option of a lunch prior to the tour. Our hosts were exceptional, the lunch, wine and chocholate tastings were fun and very well run. Everyone on our wine tour, eight of us in total got on fabulously. I would recoment this tour to anyone.

Driver + Guide: Mr. Andy (the BEST) We elected to join the half-day wine tour (Marlborough Sounds). We had Mr. Andy as our trip driver and guide. He is one of the most professional and ethical human being we have met in all of our travels. Very sharp and safe driver. He is professional, knowledgeable of his region and country, kind, helpful and most importantly, full of insights and surprise tid-bits of the vineyards, the people at the vineyards and the surrounding areas. He knows how to adapt and customize the commentary according to our personalities and preferences. My partner and I, were glad it was Mr. Andy that accompanied us around Marlborough Sounds. We felt safe and had a great time at the wineries knowing that we are safe with him. We went to 4 wineries and a surprise stop at Makana Confections chocolate boutique. It was a pleasant surprise for us chocolate lovers, and their chocolate is authentic and good. 4 Wineries visited: Villa Maria (3/5), Framingham (4/5), No.1 Family Estate (4/5), Whitehaven (5/5). We had a great time at each vineyard, the ratings attached are more the chemistry/sentiment we experienced at the relevant vineyards, and the range of wine we tried at each of them. My partner and I felt most comfortable and learned the most at Whitehaven (Katie at Whitehaven knows a lot about the grapes, the process, the history, and she had a lot to share to us laymen wine consumers, full of stories and anecdotes). Once again, a must do tour and recommend doing it with Sounds Connection. Their office is near the town center close to the waterfront. Enjoy.

Amazing day out in the sounds. Walked from Ship Cove to Furneaux Lodge. With this tour you get about 6h to complete this and you definitely need at least 5 to finish the 17km track. It's not challenging but still a fair bit of walking. Mostly you walk though native bush, the viewing points are outstanding.

Absolutely amazing afternoon spent out on the boat. Great commentary from the skipper! We got to see dolphins as well as orca's. Seeing the whales was certainly unexpected! The boat was clean and comfy, with most time spent on the upstairs deck, but was warm and comfy down below when wanting to get out of the sun/wind for brief periods. 100% recommend!

My partner and I had an amazing time last weekend (08/02/25) on Beachcomber’s “Day in the Sounds at Furneaux Lodge” tour. We left at 9am on the Tiri Cat boat, and we couldn’t have asked for a better day trip! All the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful, and our skipper was very knowledgeable and funny. The cruise itself was comfortable and smooth, and the scenery was absolutely breathtaking. My partner and I also really enjoyed the brief stop at Ship Cove. We opted to do the 12.7km hike from Furneaux Lodge to Punga Cove, and we are so happy we did! The hike itself isn’t too challenging and you are given plenty of time to complete it at a reasonably relaxed pace. The views that you get as you walk along the Queen Charlotte Track are 100% worth it! The return boat was punctual picking us up from Punga Cove Resort and we arrived back to Picton on time. We would highly recommend Beachcomber Cruises and look forward to sailing with them again next time we’re in the Marlborough Sounds! 😊

A truly professional team and I cannot thank Greg and Donna enough for sorting out my mishap, and turning it into a great adventurous day. I missed my stop in the morning from Furrneaux Lodge to Punga Cove, and ended up back in Picton. But thankfully, Greg was doing the afternoon Mail Run and I got to jump on the tour, deliver mail, give biscuits to cute doggos, and learn all about the Queen Charlotte Sound. I love being on the water, and the weather was spectacular, so it was a great day cruising around, albeit I didn’t get back to Punga Cove until after 5pm to meet my hubby - on Valentine’s Day!! Thanks team, you are absolute professionals and I highly recommend anyone travelling to Picton that they book themselves on the Mail Run - 10 stars!!!
Vanessa C — Google review
Missed my Picton mail run because I was late, but staff switched to a different tour next day no charge so I was happy to fit a sound tour in. Weather wasn't cooperative on an overcast day, but I still enjoyed the outing, watching dramatic skies, moody misty hills, looking out for wildlife, and the commentary on the local area. Any time on the water is fine to me. I'll be back, I hope, for that mail run.

I can't recommend this buisness highly enough. Informative skipper, safe journey, heaps of wildlife and experiencing how people live in this part of the world. Thanks Beachcomber!

We have booked a 1 day Queen Charlotte Track. We had a very nice cruise in the Sounds. After that we started our walk at Furneaux lodge. We had enough time to do the 12 km until Punga Cove Resort. It was such a great scenic walk. The Beachcomber crew was very friendly and professionnal. The price is fair too! We highly recommend this company.

Alexanders Holiday Park is a charming and intimate holiday park that offers spacious powered and non-powered sites, as well as essential amenities for campervans. It provides a tranquil backdrop for solo wanderers or families on a road trip in Picton. The park's location is excellent for accessing the wharf, and it offers peaceful surroundings with bird sounds. The cabins are comfortable, with some featuring unique built-in alarms due to the nearby rail bridge.
We enjoyed our stay, our room was clean and the location was fine. There's a shared kitchen available as well as a lounge room. Although our cabin was self contained, there were showers and laundry facilities available. Our cabin was situated near an overhead railroad track which didn't bother us at all.
Pearlie R — Google review
My husband and I stayed here overnight in our camper before the early ferry. When pulling in, there’s a sign reading “retro camp” and it charmingly fits the part. The showers were clean and hot; the bathrooms were spotless as well. I called the office to ask a few questions, and the staff was polite and helpful. The train does pass over, however the noise didn’t wake us and we actually found the view of the tracks pretty neat. Perfect for a clean and simple overnight stop!
Livesay K — Google review
Great pit-stop for the early ferry crossings. We had two ensuite cabins for our group of four people and they were clean and warm. The camp ground is dog friendly which was great for us having been travelling for dog trials. We also greatly appreciated the willingness of the owner to make up extra beds at fairly late notice for us. Thanks!
Leesa B — Google review
Absolutely beside the railway track and under railway bridge. $45 for powere site too high. We left and caught an earlier ferry. No refund on the day of course. I should have checked it out before paying.
Barbara I — Google review
We took the RV to the south island via Ferry and needed a place to crash as our departure was delayed 4 hours. Alexanders was nearby and reasonably priced. The facilities were very clean, and the water pressure was on the better side of adequate, and the temperature ranged from glacial to boiling lobsters.
Adam R — Google review
The place is ok for one night. In comparison to all other ones in New Zealand I felt admonished with a lot of signs what you are not allowed to do. It was clean, and you could do laundry and shower, but I felt it was not that charming. WiFi costs seperately.
Lisa W — Google review
Was ok for one night, but very run down. Nothing there for kids. Bring all your own cooking utensils. Not charming at all wouldn’t come back.

What a neat little spot! No real issues with this place. If you're a light sleeper like me, you may wake with a fright with the train zooming by the overbridge.. at 5 in the AM... my daughter didn't even budge!

Bobs Bay Reserve is a popular destination in Picton, offering a variety of activities for outdoor enthusiasts. The Snout Track provides access to the reserve, with options to start from different points such as Shelly Beach or the Snout Track car park. Visitors can obtain maps from the Picton Visitor Information Centre to navigate the walking tracks and access points. The trail offers stunning views of the bay and surrounding areas, making it a favorite among hikers.
Beautiful place. Great walk towards reach there. Few people around fishing
Aditya S — Google review
Short steep walk down to a beautiful view with a picnic table. If you time the tide right it is a fun walk back to Picton along the shoreline.
Gareth. — Google review
A short but scenic walk that will take you to a small & rocky stretch of beach. So accessible from the the main Picton Bay - it made for a perfect slow morning stroll. Slightly steep in some parts but I took a very leisurely pace.
Radiant C — Google review
To enjoy this amazing view of the bay you need to be physically fit. The surrounding area has lots of climbing and descends as well as super quite. It is one of the places where i want to spent my holidays without any second thought. Every scenery is breathtaking! One can spend the whole day only by enjoying the magnificent view.
Mahmud C — Google review
Great hike. Not very difficult and plenty of places to end the track. You can walk as far as 2 hours each way. There is an upper track as well as along the water so you can hike it as a loop. There are also many bike paths if you are more comfortable on 2 wheels instead of your feet!
Christopher C — Google review
Excellent walk if you have stepped off cruise boat and want to get a taste of the Sounds/ beauty of the area without getting too hot and sweaty! Nice sunny day take towel and bathing costume.
Simon C — Google review
Really fun walk to the reserve , especially would recommend the lower walkway, since you're rewarded with great views from here
Lynn — Google review
No rubbish, so only take what you are prepared to take back with you. It's part of a nature reserve so please don't litter. Toilet is a long drop type. Moderately difficult paths to get there and back. Upper track access from road just before Snout track car park is short but very steep and a little rough. A little less steep but longer track from Shelly Beach, Picton. Beach walk needs low tide to get through and even then you have to walk on the rocks.

Embark on a nostalgic journey with the Marlborough Flyer, a heritage steam train that takes you from Picton to Blenheim. The historic World War Memorial Locomotive, Passchendaele (1915), offers a unique experience as you traverse through the picturesque Marlborough region. While in Blenheim, indulge in the renowned local wines and cuisine. Despite potential weather-related changes to the diesel engine, passengers enjoyed a comfortable and uncrowded ride.
What a fantastic day we had on the Marlborough Flyer we had the diesel engine due to weather conditions Our carriage wasn’t over crowded enabling us to move around get comfy and enjoy the ride We had a very wet dreary day so it was lovely way to spend the day in Picton on a cruise port stop We were pleasantly surprised with a nice little drop of Nz wine some cheese n biscuits plus a huge muffin to enjoy It was such a fun day the staff were fabulous sooo friendly really made our port stop here memorable Short stop in Seddon to stretch the legs more wine tasting and back onboard Very picturesque scenery 🚂🚂🚂

I found this trip vastly overpriced for what it offers. I did purchase as part of a shore excursion from our ship but honestly feel it's definitely not worth spending money on. We spent over an hour travelling to our destination with little to see other than fields. We were offered food on the train which was over priced and a wine tasting of one wine which was exceptionally dry. When we arrived at our destination there was a wine tasting session. This was an additional cost if you wanted to partake. There were two cafes and two mini marts and that was it literally. We had 20 minutes here before boarding for our return journey of well over an hour. There was absolutely nothing about this trip to engage me.

This was one of our stop as part of our Cruise ship (ovation of the sea) My wife booked this as it was one of the activities available in Picton. The trip itself was passive but suddenly a very welcomed one. The team that was on board looked after us really well. a point to note the steam train is a refurbished locomotive and carriages from the 1930s. that means it may not be as comfortable as one would expect from a modern train, so adjust the expectations. We were treated to a few wine tasters along with water and muffins that was offered to us at no cost. We had the option to buy beer and buy a bigger serving of wine as well. wall at the turnaround point there was nothing much to do in that small town and our train was held up by an incoming carriage. overall, we really enjoyed the trip

The menu highlights seasonal and local produce, featuring daily specials like Marlborough greenshell mussels or tagliatelle with paua and chili.

Had breakfast in Oct-25. Quite a restricted menu, and whilst my meal was very tasty, there were far too many garlic mushrooms - relative to the amount of egg, toast and spinach. The trainee serving us was very pleasant and smiley, but the woman training her was miserable and didn't crack a smile the entire time we were there. Her short, sharp answers were hardly rise and shine!

E-Ko Tours was a fantastic experience! The staff were friendly and professional, and our guide was incredibly knowledgeable, sharing great insights throughout the trip. The boat ride was smooth and comfortable, with plenty of opportunities to spot wildlife along the way. A good half day trip, highly recommended for anyone visiting Picton!

We had an absolutely fantastic time on the Motuara Island & Dolphin Wildlife Cruise with E-Ko Tours. Paul, our guide, was a standout — knowledgeable, passionate, and clearly proud of the incredible region he calls home. He went above and beyond to make sure we saw the best of the Sounds and its wildlife. The boat was super comfy, and the little extras made a big difference — animal spotting cards, binoculars, and even tea, coffee, wine, and biscuits for the ride home. It was such a relaxing and enjoyable way to end the day! We saw so much beauty and wildlife, and the whole experience felt both educational and fun. Highly recommend this tour if you're in Marlborough — it’s a must-do!

Absolutely fabulous tour yesterday. The boat pilot, Dan, and guide, Bella, were so friendly and knowledgeable. We saw a couple fur seals, a rare Hector's Dolphin, too many Dusky dolphins to count, and a variety of seabirds. The view from the lookout at the top of Moturua Island was breathtaking! I highly recommend this tour to anyone hoping to see the beauty of the Queen Charlotte Sound.

We had a wonderful time with Dan, our captain, and Bella, our guide. It was Bella's first solo guiding trip and she was great - so knowledgeable about the marine life we were seeing. Dan made sure we got to the right spots and allowed us to linger to see dolphins, seals, many marine birds and even a blue penguin. The walk up Motuara island was challenging but definitely worth it for the views at the top. An excellent trip and really worth doing. Thank you E-Ko tours!

We cannot thank E-Ko Tours enough for our cruise today! Andy was an excellent captain and Bella was fantastic - both had such great knowledge and helped us spot some incredible wildlife. We managed to see dusky dolphins, a fur seal, bottlenose dolphins and little penguins all in the first half of the trip, with ample time to admire them as well. Highly recommend, best activity we’ve done in NZ so far!

Amazing tour guide Abbey and Captain Dan were fabulous. We were lucky enough to see some gorgeous Dusky Dolphins, Little Blue Penguins and some playful seals. It was a shame we didn’t get to see any Orcas or other dolphins, but Abbey and Dan made up for it with a good time!

We were in a Campervan so can’t rate the cabins, but the bathrooms were lovely and clean at all hours of the day and night, the spa was lovely, and the staff were INCREDIBLE. Had a little hiccup checking in that the staff member came out after hours to help us with, she remembered it was my birthday and made it feel special, and made us feel like part of the family. So much more than I would ever usually expect at a holiday park!!! 5 star service ❤️

The two of us stayed here for a few days to escape the heavy rain. We booked one of the cabins, and it was just right. Very cozy and practically furnished. The kitchen is well-equipped. The heating works perfectly and reaches the desired temperature quickly. The shower is great, with a powerful jet and hot water. The staff is very friendly and helpful. There are also some beautiful hiking trails along the coast in the area. A good place for short or long stays; I can recommend it to anyone!

The camp site is so neat and tidy. The rooms are huge and there is so much to do there. Spa pools play grounds and more. 10 out of 10. The staff are also the most kind and accommodating people ever. I was having a couple of issues along the way on our trip and they were so nice to my kids and I. Really helped put a smile back on my face. I can’t recommend this place enough 🫶🏼

Easy to book, arrival check-in was super easy and staff friendly. Amenities were clean and hot water in the shower was perfect! Kitchen and bbq area maintained and lots of space for many people. Play area looked fun and can imagine children of all ages enjoying the park, games and space. Camp grounds were green and well cared for. Didn't use the rooms (but could see inside them - not occupied at the time) and they looked comfortable, clean and spacious. Dump point and water for campervans was so cool (I know - not something that gets mentioned but hey/)

We arrived late and discovered that our camper van company had given us the wrong power cable. She was amazingly nice and we felt welcome in the park this night ! The place itself is really nice with nice grass and really quiet ! The price is also really good, and I think one of the cheapest one we did in NZ, with all the facilities included (Free hot and unlimited showers, wifi, full serviced kitchen) Amazing again Thank you !

We did the Cruise to Motuara Island as we only wanted to commit to a half day. The weather was not great on our arrival and the friendly help desk gave us a couple of options instead of our booked cruise, at no extra charge. Because of our time constraints we stuck with the booked tour. On the way out the weather was still questionable and boat captain remained flexible. Ultimately we were dropped at the island. I probably hadn't done my research, because 90 minutes was too much time to do the walk to the top of the island and back to the wharf, and that is all you can do on the island. Hardly the fault of Cougar Line, but consider it consumer information. All in all a great day with high quality vessels and friendly staff.

Queen Charlotte View is a two-hour hike along the Snout Track in Picton, offering stunning vistas of Queen Charlotte Sound. The trail provides various scenic viewpoints of unspoiled peninsulas and bays surrounded by different shades of water. It's an ideal option for visitors with limited time, as it starts close to the town center and doesn't involve too much uphill walking. The trail is easily distinguishable, but be mindful not to veer onto the bike trails.
Fairly easy walk with really nice views along the way. The bike path back also provides good views.
Rafal C — Google review
Lovely views of ocean water with boats about frequently where there is breaks in the foliage. It is a nice way to get some more exercise than a normal walk outside and take some time with nature. Very quiet and peaceful. The trail there isn't indicated on Google maps, but the trail itself is easily distinguishable, just be sure not to go on the bike trails when you are walking. There is a maintained toilet stall at the view point with a long drop toilet, small trash can, and toilet paper. It also has a rainwater tank with faucet and hand sanitizer dispenser attached to it. There is a bench 3/4 of the trail to view point and a picnic table at view point. The trail is mostly up hill to the view point but that also means it is mostly down hill to get back. Be careful because it can be quite steep at points especially off the side of trail and mud makes parts quite slippery after rain. Bring good footwear, water, apply light layer of sunscreen (though most of track is shaded), and some bug spray. Generally a decent breeze going so it doesn't get too hot. The road is one way to parking lots (there are more than one, so make sure you stop at right one or you have to walk more). The road is steep and winding for the most part and you must go slow because pedestrians could be around curves. There is a park at start of one way road up to Snout Track parking, so if you have kids(or adults) in your group who want to sit out the walk they can hang out there.

Hi. I live locally, and you should set at least 5 hours aside when setting out from Picton Coathanger Bridge. You can shorten the time by taking the Bobs Bay walk and veering off at the steps provided. There is a toilet about 2 thirds of the way, and then there is another 40-minute walk. Check the weather before you leave.

At first, it's almost too easy—some holes are so straightforward you wonder if they're just testing your ability to stand upright and hold a club. But then you hit the back nine, where things get interesting, or perhaps just unnecessarily complicated. It's like the course decided to throw in a few challenges just to remind you that mini golf, much like life, can suddenly become baffling and unpredictable. The price is fair, considering you're basically paying to question your hand-eye coordination and decision-making skills. Overall, Round 'a' Mini Golf is a good option if you're in the mood for mild frustration disguised as fun. It's not Augusta, but for the price, it’s a decent way to spend an afternoon pretending you're better at golf than you actually are.

Recently got into mini golf we realised there was one here and had to have a go. It was a cool course! Some really hard holes but lots of fun! Lots of other people and families were there. Will be back next time we are in picton!

Well, we just had another great time here. Lovely place to go whatever the weather. Always clean, tidy and the staff are very welcoming. Dog friendly as a bonus. And to cap it all, our daughter had to buy the drinks after, because she lost, result! See you again.

Pretty chill fun mini golf course, great value for money

On a sunny day this is perfect, good vibes and a fun, unique course. Would recommend as a family activity.

Children's amusement center
Shipwrecks Kidsworld Picton is a spacious indoor playground in the heart of Picton, offering an exciting and enjoyable experience for both kids and parents. It's perfect for all weather conditions, providing fully catered kids parties, after school programs, and holiday activities. The facility features an inflatable jumping castle, arcade games, and ample space for children to play.
Small indoor playground for kids, great to do on rainy days, just a man on his own running the place , yes it is unkempt but it's a small town and is to be expected and overall worth the money for the kids :)

Indoor playground with inflatable jumping castle and some arcade games. Few broken bits. Nice and warm. Supermarket and cafe in the same complex; Mariner’s Mall.
Danielle B — Google review
My kids really enjoyed it. Though it was seriously lacking attention/maintenance and a bit unclean. The ball pit was rather empty with alot of broken balls in it.
Emma P — Google review
Play ground was FILTHY, the under 3s area had old crumbs on the carpet, puzzle pieces were missing , just junk really. The older area was just as grubby, obviously hadn't been cleaned for a long time. Disappointed, wouldn't recommend it.
Sharyn M — Google review
Such a cool place! It's not huge which is perfect, a parent can just relax in a comfy chair while the kids are endlessly entertained, seriously, we were there for hours. Cool friendly management, facilities handy, totally recommend
Alicia G — Google review
Turned up after a small drives to find out it was closed. Waste of petrol and time need to update google hours if not open. Very disappointed child.
Daniel H — Google review
Average opening hours, went all the way over there from Blenheim and they had decided to close early even though there were kids playing, hours on the internet say 10-4pm on Wednesday but it is only open until 2pm (should have looked on their actual website, it is in there), just as well I rang first this time!
Joanna L — Google review
My kids love this place they could play all day and it's safe for them to the point were it makes my life easy not having to look for them or make sure they haven't run out to the road.

Small hike in the bush with information panels here and there. 2 picnic tables at the dam Better in summer as the whole walk is the shade and can be quite chilly
