Sorriso Thermae Resort & SPA is a luxurious spa resort located in Ischia, offering a serene getaway surrounded by three hectares of parkland and a beautiful Mediterranean garden. The resort overlooks the Bay of San Montano and the Gulf of Naples, providing breathtaking views. Guests can enjoy the five pools with hyperthermal waters, including three outdoor pools and two indoor pools. The resort also features three restaurants, a piano bar, and live music for entertainment.
This was our second time in Ischia and our first time staying in Sorriso Terme Resort and spa and it can simply be described as paradise. It was our second wedding anniversary and the staff were extremely friendly and very professional and attentive to our needs. Our room had a fantastic sea view and was immaculate, cleaned daily to a very high standard we had all of the amenities we required for our time at the resort. The are several pools to choose from located throughout the resort and we found ourselves rotating between these daily. We were served drinks poolside from the staff who were extremely polite and professional. The food, wow. The food we had was served from the Il Tufo restaurant which itself requires it's own review. The beef was cooked to absolute perfection, tender and melted in the mouth, swordfish pasta, incredible. The daily menu is displayed at the restaurant entrance and there are several options for each course, the portions are extremely generous and the staff ensured we did not go hungry during our stay. We were provided with evening entertainment poolside on a couple of evenings which really created a fantastic atmosphere and authentic experience. The resort itself is located on a major bus route (tickets available at reception) and this made travelling the island incredibly easy, Ischia Porto? No problem. Ischia Adventure Park? No problem. The beach? Definitely no problem there as a private shuttle is provided by the hotel. There were not too many other English people at the resort and the staff were fantastic communicating which helped as my Italian is awful. The staff were very funny and extremely professional and made us feel incredibly welcome. Some of the locals that we spoke with were in agreement that Sorriso Terme is possibly if not the best hotel and spa resort on the island and we would have to agree. This is possibly Ischia's best kept secret and well worth a visit. Amazing staff ✅ Amazing views ✅ Amazing food ✅ Amazing pool ✅ Amazing experience ✅

Really lovely spot. The pools are heated (at least they were during our late April visit). A swim cap is required, but they do also sell them there for 2 euro if you don't have one. Beautiful grounds. The property itself extends more than you initially think. We were staying at the farthest edge and had to walk a ways to get to breakfast and the pools, but again, lovely place. For my fellow Americans, there's not a ton of English there - not like you might experience in a larger city. I tried to use a little Italian, and that helps, so just be prepared.

The location is beautiful, the rooms were clean and you could walk down to the beach quickly. The service at the front desk was terrible. The woman was rude to us upon arrival, kept our passports (No other hotel in Italy did this), and when we tried to use the shuttle she would not take us. My husband asked her to call us a taxi- which she only pretended to do. We were waiting for over a half hour and ended up taking the bus to our port.
Michelle P — Google review
Do not go there, it is a scam. Whoever gave them 4 stars has put its certification reputation in loss. Stay away if you can or you will experience what you can read in the review below: We booked a classic double room, which when we arrived appeared to be located outside the resort, across the street that needed walking up the hill for the breakfasts and the pools. Super disappointment as when we were booking we explicitly chose to be in the main resort building. We requested a change, the staff not really politely told us we cannot do nothing about it and we get what we get. When we got to our rooms we realised our IDs and passports were missing. It took some time to realise we were not given back the documents at the reception, which is illegal as the hotel cannot hold the id documents, we arrived telling them that we thought somebody stole it and when they take the id and not return it it is legally required to notify the owner of the document. The staff made us feel not welcomed and ripped off without even trying to make a different expression. The room - very old, dirty, spiderwebs under the bed, toilets from the 70s, tv screen was a joke. You get them for free, even better ones on the fb sites where people get rid off useless stuff. Total lack of any accessories in the room like even a glass to have a drink from or a robe that you could expect from a spa hotel (even if they gave one it would be funny walking across the street in a robe to get to the pools). Room not painted for a very long time. Dirty air condition you can see the dirt sticking out of the vents. You can see it is used for a long time not maintained properly and not repaired neatly. We got a sunbed - very old, 1 so one person could lie down, i like the 80s but come on. You can hear very explicitly any voice coming from a corridor, in the evenings it is not much of a problem as most of the guests are 70+ but you can hear everyone very well from 6-7 am so sleeping in is an issue. And at 8 am the room service is going to wake you up anyway. The breakfast - simply not good, no fresh bread, only this plastic toast bread. Low quality coffee machines, cakes is the only thing you can eat but still - you would get better quality at any street stand for 2eur. The swimming pools looked dirty, you can tell by the color of feeling between the tales. They say the hotel is 250 meters from the beach - yes it is in a straight line, but to reach with that distance you need to be a professional rock climber and go down a massive cliff. If you are a normal human being without a professional climbing equipment you are left with a 2km walk to the beach. I give them 2 stars for the service only for the shuttle they have for their guests which makes the whole very bad experience not a total joke.
Adrian T — Google review
Great waiters at the restaurant and pool bar but terrible service at the reception as well as many issues with the shuttle service. Food is good and sea view is great but beware of the size of th hotel, some rooms are 15 minutes away by foot from the reception. Single rooms are the size of Harry Potter’s room under the stairs, so stick to double rooms even if you’re staying alone.

We checked into this hotel with my husband and our dog. I am pregnant. They placed us in the farthest building, which took a long time to walk to. They also took our documents upon check-in and didn’t return them until three days later, when we were checking out. They didn’t even remind us that they still had our documents, which was very strange. I also didn’t like the woman at the front desk—her name was Alina, I believe. She was very unprofessional. Another issue was that we didn’t receive bottled water in the room every day. Also, there was a light shining into our room that kept me awake until 4 a.m., and the administration said they couldn’t do anything about it. But there were also some good moments. We were allowed a late check-out at 4 p.m. because our boat to Sorrento was at 5:25. We only had to pay an extra 40 euros for that, which was very reasonable.

please be cautious if you book the annexe room as it is quite a walk from the actual hotel and facilities. We weren't aware of this when we made the booking. It may be OK in winter months however, in the sun, its an inconvenience, particularly when we were expected to take our own bags to the main complex for check out @ 430 am dragging our heavy luggage accros cobbled streets! Staff on reception were unapologetic. The room is extremely basic...lots of mosquitos and no treatment. All of the restaurant employees were lovely, polite and professional. Mariano and crew were amazing...."1 and 1" we loved him. Unfortunately we would not stay here again nor would we recommend this 'hotel' to friends or foe.

I wanted to love this hotel. Everything was great until we got back from dinner to discover that the Oasis restaurant plays very, very loud music directly above our room. I called reception and was told that they play music until 1 am. This was very unexpected and caused for a miserable one night stay; we won't be returning.

Hotel Terme Tritone Resort & Spa is a four-star hotel located in Forio, offering a great spa and excellent service. Situated just 10 meters from its private beach, the resort features both outdoor and indoor pools. Guests can enjoy various amenities such as yoga classes, scuba diving, snorkeling, and hiking. The hotel also provides free WiFi throughout the property and offers relaxing spa treatments including massages and body treatments.
We spent six nights at Hotel Terme Tritone on a half-board basis and had an overall positive experience. We chose La Vela restaurant for dinner. On our first evening, the dining room manager came across as a bit dry and “salty,” but the rest of the staff were attentive, professional, and pleasant throughout our stay. Both breakfast and dinner were excellent, with well-prepared dishes served in a calm, comfortable setting. We really enjoyed the pools, especially the outdoor one: spacious and relaxing. The private beach is small but pleasant. The staff across the hotel were consistently professional, and every time we made a request at the front desk, there was clear follow-up. The entire hotel was very clean and well maintained. It’s true that the majority of guests are seniors, with a few families here and there. This wasn’t an issue for me or my two teenage children. In fact, we appreciated the quiet, serene atmosphere, especially compared to the noisy, crowded environments we've experienced in places like Punta Cana. In short, an excellent stay. Recommended for those looking for comfort, tranquility, and efficient service in a beautiful setting.

Overall we had a great experience at this hotel. We’ve been there on the first week of May, so it was not busy, but weather was not great, so the inside salt pools made a huge difference. We had dinner at the hotel’s restaurant a few times, food is good, but too big of a portion.. Breakfast was nice, but when you’re eating there for a week, you don’t see much of a change.. They had nice cocktails too. Stunning views of the sunset (this was the sell for us). Friendly staff overall. Location wise, nice that the hotel has its own beach, but other options are not too far of a walk and same for restaurants. We did not get the all inclusive options to try the food scene around and it was absolutely worth it. If mobility is not a problem, there’s a village 20 minutes walk away maximum with a lot of options for food and some shops available. Otherwise, we took taxis around and it was at least €35 euro, which is a bit expensive for a short drive..

My wife and I stayed here for our honeymoon and were very disappointed. The resort is marketed as young and luxurious, but it is the exact opposite. The amenities, decorations, and food are clearly geared towards the very old crowd that goes here. The restaurants serve mediocre, nursing home level food that is far less tasty and far more expensive than the local restaurants just a few minutes walk away. In addition, the staff is extremely rude and unhelpful. My wife and I constantly felt like we were not welcome by staff and we even overheard them complaining that we asked for a cappuccino at breakfast. The one redeeming quality is that the views are amazing, but you can find much better accommodation with much friendlier staff with similar views. Also, to any fellow Americans, please head the warnings of other guests about the AC being inadequate. We were constantly hot in our room because our AC refused to cool the room properly. We stayed at plenty of other resorts during our honeymoon in Italy that were nowhere near this hot.

Overall great location. Friendly staff. Especially Colomba al Fango. Mimmo and Katia ai Ristoranti. Beautiful gardens. Nice clean cosy room. Wonderful views . Directly at romantic beach. Initially we did have trouble with swapping restaurants and dinner to lunch but with quite some pressure we got the change done... food quality also got better in the new venue... still next time we will change from half pension to breakfast as the kitchen doesn't quite come up to the quality of the rest of the hotel...
Martin L — Google review
Great location, also a very good hotel, even when it was fully booked there were enough sunbeds at the pool and on the beach. The service is very good, from the reception desk over the waiters to room service. Two little drawbacks: the main pool needs a bit repair work and cleaning, the breakfast buffet could vary a bit more. We did not have dinner there.
Michael T — Google review
My experience with this hotel was just pure dissapointment and i suggest you to run away from this hotel. First of all they scam you directly on Bo*king.com where they do not list the room tiers and the standard room is advertised just as a “double room” and the pictures they list is from a room two tiers above. We booked a double room on the platform mentioned earlier and when we arrived they gave us their standard room which was a small, very cramped and dark room at ground floor, outside of the main building. It is advertised as having 20 square meters but in reality it has maximum 13, it felt like a prison cell. When we confronted them about the problem they told us that we reserved that and it is what it is and if we want we can upgrade at a cost of 40€ per night. They were very conflictual and not at all open to solve our issue even after we contacted the platform we used to book our trip. We paid the price and upgraded eventually and when we arrived in the room, it was actually the room we saw in the pictures on the booking platform. Second the breakfast is somewhat poor in offer, they do not have any vegetables apart from some tomatoes and has always the same cold cuts and scrambled and boiled eggs which run out very fast. Also the breakfast is advertised as being from 7:30 to 10:00, but if you arrive at 9:40 you won’t find anything because the waiters just clear up everything before the actual ending hour. Third, THEY DO NOT HAVE A PROPER RESTAURANT!! They only give you the option to buy a half board and you have a set menu with 3 options for antipasti, primi and secondi and you must make your choice in the morning at breakfast. You cannot order a la carte and we had to go out every night to eat at proper places. Fourth the whole place feels badly maintained. The gym is a complete joke, it has 2-3 bycycles, a treadmill and 4 rusty dumbells. The terme is advertised as being some cool stuff but in reality inside there are only 2 smallish pools and a jaccuzzi. The experience was awful judging the price we paid of aproximatively 300€ per night. It is such a shame because they have a spectacular location, but the things stated above ruined our stay and also their staff lacks the regular italian hospitality.
Sabin V — Google review
This hotel/spa resort is best for families and adults wishing a quiet holiday where you don’t have to leave. The staff is great, views incredible, pool and spa are superb! Especially the SPA is amazing and the gardens!! Recommended.
Alina.rusen R — Google review
Wife and I spent an enjoyable time at Tritone. Amenities are good - several outdoor / indoor pools and Wellness Centre. Reception staff are welcoming as are the restaurant and bar staff. Slight fly in the ointment is the fact that for a Wellness / Terme Hotel the Gym room is very dated with lack of weights and modern machinery. Was promised by Reception that the plan was to address this issue in readiness for next year.

Gardens
Giardini la Mortella is a stunning hillside garden in Forio, featuring a diverse collection of tropical and Mediterranean flora, enchanting water features, and breathtaking bay views. Originally purchased by the renowned English composer Sir William Walton in 1949, with the help of landscape architect Russel Page, it was transformed into a paradise. The gardens boast an array of rare plants including the celebrated Gingko Biloba and the mesmerizing Victoria Amazonica.
I'm a gardener so I'm always keen to visit a botanical garden wherever I go, but this one is truly spectacular. A mystical panoply of all types of plants from different regions. Some really special orchids and water plants. Nooks, ponds and rockeries galore. Highly recommend. You could easily spend all day there so be careful. Really good price for the wonders on offer. Enjoy!
Callum M — Google review
While the beauty and care with which the gardens have been cultivated are truly admirable, my visit was unfortunately overshadowed by the fact that smoking is permitted within the grounds. Allowing visitors to smoke in such a serene, carefully preserved natural environment is not only detrimental to the air quality and atmosphere but also deeply detracts from the experience for those who come seeking peace, beauty, and inspiration. The gardens, created over many years with such dedication and vision, deserve to be enjoyed in a setting that respects their tranquility and ecological integrity. Sadly, the presence of cigarette smoke made it difficult to fully appreciate the space and ambiance that Sir William Walton and Lady Susana Walton so lovingly brought to life. I strongly urge the Foundation to reconsider its policy on smoking within the gardens. Implementing a non-smoking rule would preserve the healthful environment, enhance the experience for all visitors, and align more closely with the spirit of harmony and reflection that La Mortella was clearly intended to embody.

Gorgeous gardens (ticket 12 €), quite large, so you will spend some time here. There is even a small cafe bar with some food right under the Greek theater (you can also find toilets here, next to the theater). We also caught the concert in the evening from 9:00 PM to 11:00 PM and the ticket cost only 8 €. Fallowing the song for parking and ticket office if you are by car (around 1 km from down, another entrance by foot).
Ady Y — Google review
This is a must-visit-place if you visit Ischia! The place is incredible, and there's so many wonderful, beautiful and unique places. Make sure to have plenty of time, and it is a big garden and theres quite a lot of walking, paths up and down, elevations and stairs. At the very top and bottom, trees offer you a bit of shade and fresh air. The the levels in between, the sun and stairs can make it an incredibly warm experience. Make sure to bring water and something for your blood sugar if it is a very warm day. The place is relatively easy to reach by public transportation. Parking is a bit more tricky, however if you enjoy a slightly challenging drive on small roads there's a small parking lot at the very top of the garden.

If you’ve visited botanical gardens in other major cities (500,000+ population), this one won’t surprise you — it’s pleasant, but quite standard. Plan for about an hour to see everything. One important tip: there are a lot of tiger mosquitoes here. If you’re not familiar with them, look them up and make sure to bring repellent — it will make your visit much more enjoyable.
Mark F — Google review
A stunning set of gardens. Tranquil and inspiring. We also enjoyed an outdoor concert one evening whichbwas also a joy with all the scent from the garden mixing in with the frogs chorus from the ponds. Cant recommend more highly. Wegot there for when it opened at 9 as it was cooler and less busy.
P2 M — Google review
Definitely worth the price and super nice to get some shade in there when it's super hot outside. Make sure to keep in mind the guided tour groups that might arrive on the daily around 10:30-11-30am
Nadine S — Google review
We visited the garden with friends and were not disappointed. There was so much to see and didn't manage to see the whole garden. What we did see was beautiful and very colourful. The frogs even treated us to a different type of concert as they stayed hidden amongst the lillies. If you have mobility issues then you may not get to see the whole garden as there are lots of steps. Each plant or tree was labelled to show where in the world they originate from. There is a lovely cafe and shop. At the time of visiting, there was a concert going on, which was an additional cost. We were pleasantly surprised how beautiful the gardens are and thoroughly recommend visiting them.

Negombo is a stunning thermal park located in Lacco Ameno, Italy. The annual event held at the park brings together nurserymen, artisans, and collectors from all over Italy. Visitors can explore rare plants and indulge in gastronomic delights. Other popular thermal parks in the area include Poseidon Gardens in Forio and Castiglione Vanitello in Casamicciola.
There is only 1 hot spring coming from the ground through a pipe. The sea was cold crisp in April. I visited on Easter. The view is amazing! It was worth the long trip down, through the vegetation. This is for the public beach near Negombo (free). Mind the pictures to make your way down shorter!

Beautiful gardens with private space, very peaceful. Better suited to guests with younger members as the pools are slightly cooler. Nice places to eat and shopping opportunities. The pools are naturalistic and might be tricky for people with mobility or sight issues,(lots of unlevel steps in and out of the water) But I really wouldn't let that put you off. This place is stunning and I'd definitely recommend spending a day there.

We've been in Naples for six days. On the seventh day we rested here. Fabulous retreat. The thermal baths were divine.

Came here on a super rainy day and it was beautiful! It is EMPTY at the beginning of October. The pools up on the cliffside were magical. Would return again! Only small downside is that if you rent a towel (8euros), to get a dry one (and it was pouring the whole time) you have to pay again. I understand but it seemed like a little bit of a cash grab since the park is already 90+ euros for two people.
Elizabeth M — Google review
Beautiful place but some disappointments. - The setting is extraordinary and without equal. The beach is perfect. It is a 20 minute And 30 Euro taxi ride from the main port. - All over Italy, water fountains are running and plentiful. Not at Negombo. Despite paying the equivalent of over $100 for 2 people, the only drinking water available is for sale. Stating hydrated after thermal baths is important, and Negombo makes you pay. - You pay the equivalent of $10 more to rent a single towel. Plus a $15 deposit on the towel that is returned to you as you give the wet towel back. But their refusal to exchange a soaking wet cold towel for a fresh dry one after you have used it all day is a surprisingly stingy element if the operation. - The squatting toilets are unpleasant and challenging for many. If management could simply address the 3 issues above (water, towels and toilets), this would be a 5 star experience.
Mark K — Google review
A brilliant thermal spa and beach place. It costs €100 for 2 adults for a full day but there’s lot a to see with many thermal pools a great beach and normal pool’s. Lots of facilities on site including toilets and changing rooms. Lockers are free but cost you a returnable €20 deposit. Your entry price includes 2 subbed 2 deck chairs and an umbrella. Towels cost to hire so bring your own. Several restaurants on site nothing too pricey. Lots of locals do it must be good. Plenty of undercover parking and in the Italian summer that’s worth it. Easy to get from Ischia Porto on a regular bus service €5 for a full day bus pass!
Mike T — Google review
This park is supposedly “kid friendly.” First there are no pools where young kids can walk around. One kid pool is 5 feet deep and other one is approx 4. I guess if your kids are 10+ then yes, but otherwise for younger kids, no. Poseidon is much better with pools for younger kids. There are good staff and very rude staff. My young son needed a toilet with a seat and there was one which the employee refused to open. Tl:dr: go to Poseidon if you have young kids. This park is not kid friendly and some staff are quite rude. If you want to go to the beach, just walk further to free beach and if you want t shade, there is free shade along the cliffs.

This is a beautiful resort. The spectacular beauty of the setting, the way all of the processes and the recreation areas are set up, the quality of the food & drinks, and the very nature of the wonderful thermal salt water pools are all terrific and enjoyable. It is a calm and enjoyable place, as it is spread out across many separate areas, yet easy to get around and enjoy the variety of settings and pools. There was nothing that I did not like about our visit. A total relaxing and amazing experience!

Baia di Sorgeto, nestled in the Forio region of Ischia, is a hidden gem that offers a unique bathing experience without traditional sandy beaches. Instead, visitors are greeted by rocky outcrops and natural thermal pools filled with warm water year-round. This enchanting cove allows adventurous souls to take moonlit dips under the stars or soak during the day amidst stunning scenery.
Baia di sorgeto was absolutely fabulous! It’s totally free unless you want a lounge char, for which there is a price. They serve food at the bottom. The water is incredible, ranging from very hot to cool. The farther away you get from the mouth of the thermal spa, the cooler it gets as the warm mixes with the cold. Very therapeutic. I do recommend water socks with a good grip. The rocks are very slippery and potentially dangerous. Also, be prepared for 300 steps down and up. I highly recommend and intend to return when I’m in Ischia again.

This is a neat spot! It does get quite crowded in the thermal spas (even early). Rocks are very slippery so you need to be careful and it is recommended to bring water shoes. We were staying at punta chiarito resort and came down here a few times. One day we used the water taxi to take us to Sant’Angelo which was really cool and quite easy. You pay on the boat in euro or at the stand/restaurant with card when you arrive or depart.
T S — Google review
Glad we went! The water was lovely on the rainy day when went. With the waves crashing the hot thermal water mixes with the cold sea and it is a very unique experience. Maybe it was the time of year but there weren’t too many people and with just a bit of waiting we got ourselves some pretty good seats in the end. The atmosphere is also great with people being very friendly; helping you in and warning you about the hotter areas. Just try to not sit in the parts with a lot of debris - this was a slightly annoying addition in some parts.
Borbala T — Google review
An unquestionably fascinating and enjoyable experience. Here you can bathe at a place where volcanic hot springs meet the sea. Swim out further to refresh with cool, clean, sea water. Or swim closer to the volcanic source to feel the warm flow. Also here you can rent a sun chair and have a delicious bruschetta. Free areas are also available, but a little crowded and uncomfortable.

Forio is a lovely town. We visited in late October and weren't lucky with the weather. There are some free thermal springs nearby if the sea isn't too wild. The place is friendly, clean and welcoming. Explore food options out of the town for the best food and prices. I recommend Da Gisella 10 minutes down the road.

Loved it here, you can rent beds and sun chairs (there are only around 8 of each). The bar serves food, drinks and icecream and you can buy swimming shoes as well, as the beach is rocky and slippery. The thermal area is relatively small. The hot water mixed with the colder sea water offers a very relaxing experience.

What an amazing place! Spent over 1hr in the thermal water and felt great afterwards, Del Pirata D’Ischia can apply a natural clay which feels great for a few euro, be careful on the rocks as it’s rather slippery so worth it!!

San Montano Resort & Spa is a luxurious retreat on Ischia, offering nautically inspired rooms and suites with stunning sea views. The resort features 11 outdoor thermal pools, an indoor pool, and a natural sauna for ultimate relaxation. Guests can enjoy fine dining at the resort's two bars and restaurant. For those seeking the pinnacle of luxury, the Villas offer exclusive amenities such as private swimming pools, expansive gardens with sea views, and complimentary access to the Negombo Thermal Park.
Stayed for 3 nights earlier this month with my husband for our 15th anniversary trip. The location is farther from the main port and restaurant scene BUT it is absolutely serene, quiet, and peaceful up on the hilltop. The food was amazing and the staff was so kind and so accommodating. We had such a gorgeous view from our room and everywhere else we went at the hotel. Highly recommend for anyone wanting to get away and relax in a gorgeous place. It’s very quiet.

We were upgraded to a newly renovated suite, so, I don't know if my review would be different if we had ended up in the room we booked. That said, this is a 5 start resort with service (and price) to match. Food and drink is roughly 2x what you spend on the rest of the island. There were helpful people at every turn. The on-demand shuttle down to the beach or town was flawless and we used it every day. The breakfast was phenomenal as was the lunch offerings. The sunset cocktail bar was phenomenal. We ate dinner in town as the night vibe wasn't really our thing. The spa area you can use even without a service is very nice. One major thing that would dissuade me from staying again - only the main pool was really warm. All the the other cliffside pools were essentially cold and nobody was in them. Maybe that is nice mid-summer, but first week of October it was a major disappointment.

One of my favourite hotels I have ever stayed at. It was magical. For some reason I didn't think I would love it, maybe because we tend to prefer smaller hotels, rather than resorts. But it has so much classical character, the staff are incredible, the food was beyond sensational, especially the breakfast.. wow with that view too! The free shuttle down to the beach was great (also one of the best beaches on the island). I can't wait to come back one day!

Reply to your response of my Sept 25 2 out of 5 Trip Advisor review. 'Your response is disappointing and is an attempt to white wash. It is a fudge of the truth and effectively is confirmation for me of the accuracy of the points I made in my review. I reject the water came in through the balcony door. There was no water initially on that side of the room. It gathered on the other side and spread out. You confirmed in your response that there was no issue with the balcony door and then looked to blame us for the problem! Absolutely unprofessional and low class, confirmed by you ignoring in your response that nothing was done by that hotel to acknowledge our room had badly flooded. We had been denied access to our room for over 2 and half hours when we checked in the previous day as we were told the floor was wet! This further suggests you have a problem with that room. To generate steam you need very hot water. This very hot water was running down the wall and pooling at the entrance as the drain was not dealing with it. My wife stepped into it. FACT. Instead of acknowledging the fault, you fudge your response and basically say your 'certified technician' fixed the problem! Unprofessional. You provide a shuttle to the nearest place of activity from your quite isolated hotel. About 3km from the ferry terminal. Collecting from and dropping to the ferry your €800 per night guests for a 20sqm room, would enhance their sense of hospitality as opposed to abandoning them to the island's taxi Mafiosa! The wine was not measured. It was poured from the bottle into my glass. It was a local island wine, not a Super Tuscan! You are writing nonsense about 'official Italian restaurant and bar regulations' to again fudge your response, which I consider to be very unprofessional.I was charged €20 for approx 50 to 60cl of a glass. A complete rip off that the waiter said was the amount determined by the owner. Shockingly mean. Neither my wife or I found any prepared fruit for a fruit salad. In every hotel we stay in we start our breakfast with it. Both of us looked for it and could find none. Nor did we see anyone else with or eating a fruit salad! Unfortunately, your response to my 2 out of 5 rating, confirms its correctness'

We stayed at the San Montano for 6 nights in early September and can’t wait to return. . From before arrival to the sad good-bye, the hotel and staff exceeded our expectations over and over. . The location was convenient to everything we wanted to do, ferry port, Laco Ameno town for dinner a few nights via the shuttle, Sant'Angelo, dinner on Mount Epomeo and the castle at Porto Ischia. We had a beautiful half day private outing on the hotel’s boat circling the island with multiple stops for swimming and a surprise photo from the captain – the best group photo of our trip! Breakfast was bountiful and delicious every day including apx 10 pastries you could count on every day + 10 new and different ones. Plus, fruit, salmon, eggs, waffles, ham, cheeses, and the best cappuccinos. Breakfast along with dinner was served in a large panoramic room with a commanding view of mountains and sea. Don’t miss the pizza oven at lunch! The staff was always pleasant and quick to supply information or whatever was needed. The hotel was spacious and never felt crowded though there were plenty of guests. The variety of 11 pools was a treat. It was hard to skip the main thermal spring pool heated to 94 F with water jets and waterfalls. We never wanted to get out. The sunset cocktail hour with over-the-top complimentary hors devours was unforgettable. In the category of above and beyond, they even provided translation of a historical document that was part of our genealogy research. . We left plenty of things still to do and very much want to go back. Don’t think about it anymore…just book it! . (Note about the ferry - our ride over mid-day on a Wednesday afternoon was spacious with plenty of seating on the Alilauro passenger ferry. Our return on a Tuesday late morning was standing room only. I think it was because the ferry picked up passengers in Forio first. Forio is as close as Porto Ischia and next time we’ll board there to assure a seat…if we leave!) . . ⭐️Stay here again ⭐️Staff helpful ⭐️Location ⭐️Environment . Bathroom ✅Spacious ✅Freestanding shower ✅Good shower pressure ✅Plenty of hot water ✅Good towels ✅Nightlight . Bedroom ✅Spacious ✅Firm mattress ✅Firm pillows ✅Nice sheets ✅Convenient electric/USB outlets ✅Daily water ✅Coffee in room ✅Tea in room ✅ AC Cool enough . Had Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner ⭐️food - good quality ⭐️coffee - good quality

We had an amazing experience staying at San Montano! The rooms are clean and comfortable, the staff are all so incredibly helpful and nice, and the food & drinks are delicious. We loved breakfast every morning, it was the perfect way to start each day! The staff were all very knowledgeable about helping us get to and from our activities each day and were extremely helpful in recommending restaurants on the island for dinners. The shuttle is really convenient, and the location is great for exploring Lacco Ameno and Forio. We have recommended this place to anyone traveling to Ischia and will continue to do so, we hope to visit again soon!
Jake D — Google review
Loved my stay here- it was definitely really nice!! The rooms have amazing amenities and the service is top notch- everyone who works here is fantastic. The only thing is we really wanted to go to the boutique but it was never opened when we tried to go (even when it was within the hours) and some things were randomly very high priced.. for example when we got a $15 salad for lunch and asked if we could add chicken to it and they said yes and brought chicken on it but when the bill came it was a $26 chicken entree that was charged. I feel like that should’ve been made clear because normally adding chicken to a salad would not be twice the price of the salad. Also I don’t recommend going to the beach club that they have a partnership with- it was not nearly as nice as the hotel, so much so that we left right when we got there. All in all it was a beautiful hotel and I recommend it!

My wife and I have just returned from a week at San Montano. The whole experience was simply amazing. We had a two floor infinity pool suite (No.8) and it was a very special space. Nothing negative to say about the whole holiday and would thoroughly recommend to anyone. It's not cheap but then you get what you pay for :-)

Giardini Poseidon Terme is a large thermal park in Forio, Ischia, offering over 20 pools with healing thermal waters and a private beach. It's known for its pleasant combination of nature and thermal resources, featuring pools at different temperatures, waterfalls, sunbathing areas, wellness and beauty treatments all set amidst lush Mediterranean vegetation. The location provides panoramic views and various amenities such as a solarium, gym, and vineyard for leisurely walks.
An amazing experience! Went with my family, including a toddler and 6 month old and found it convenient and kid friendly enough. While the children aren’t allowed near the hot/ cold pools, there is a large enough area for them with 3 pools and ample seating. The space is gorgeous with every detail thought of. Highly recommend and will be back!

Proof if any were needed of the geothermal activity in the Bay of Naples. Although children are not permitted to enter the main hot pools, there are pools where they can happily play if supervised by an adult so it isn't too restrictive. My wife had a great time in the hot pools and sauna while i looked after our little one. For us this was a great day out from Sorrento where we were staying and involved an enjoyable ferry trip from Sorrento harbour,
Bernard S — Google review
Such a beautiful park! My husband, 1.5 year old son, and I visited for the day. Kids aren’t allowed in the thermal park so we stayed by the kids pools and switched off enjoying the spas. Such a relaxing experience at a great value. We got lunch at the cafe as well. The pool areas were clean and spacious and everyone there was respectful. One of the highlights of our trip.

Wow. Amazing day trip from Sorrento. Can’t recommend enough. Tons of restrooms and changing areas. Hundreds of chairs and umbrellas free of charge. Free locker to leave belongings. Affordable delicious food. Mostly locals
Gerard C — Google review
Super clean, nice and relaxing atmosphere. There are free lockers and many changing areas. Two restaurants for breakfast and lunch, not too many choices, but there are some still. You need a whole day to visit everything and enjoy the park’s diversity.
Cristea A — Google review
Great experience for a day. The entry is 50 € per person for the whole day. You can choose in any area a sunbed for the day. They have a bar open all day with drinks, desserts and sandwiches and a restaurant with food till 4pm I think. The pools are clean and with Ward water from 32 to 40°. It's worth the experience for a day if you stay 7 days on the island.

This is a large thermal bath complex with many pools and beautiful landscaping. The position, on a side of a hill all the way to the sea, with its own private beach, leads to breathtaking and mesmerizing views. This place is really a gem.

Just a stone's throw from the stunning Citara Beach and the lush Ravino Gardens, this family-friendly hotel offers an inviting atmosphere for all types of travelers. Guests can unwind in two refreshing pools—one outdoor surrounded by vibrant gardens and another indoor thermal pool that promises rejuvenation.
The hotel staff here are the friendliest most helpful lovely people. They always went above and beyond to answer every question I had. The hotel is perfectly located with a beach just 15 mins away by foot, bus stops meters away, 20 mins to walk into Forio. The spa was great too. Room has everything you need, bed was comfy, and AC worked great. I hope to stay there again someday.

This is hands down the best service I have ever experienced at any hotel. The staff here are so kind and go above and beyond. Our first room was really hot, so we were immediately given 4 other rooms in the shade to choose from by the nice lady at reception. Also, I got a viral infection that was going around the island while I was staying here and was waking up in the middle of the night in excruciating pain. The night shift staff, Franco, personally drove me to the hospital and the doctor when I asked if there were any taxis I could take. In the daytime there was a doctor living downstairs that personally attended to me 3 times for no charge. Over the next week of me being sick, all of the staff were asking me if I felt better and helping us find pharmacies that were open on Sundays, etc. The rooms themselves were very cozy and ours had a beautiful private balcony!

We stayed at this wonderful hotel for their annual chess competition and had an incredible experience. We booked two rooms—one family room and one single. Despite arriving very late due to a delayed ferry, the staff went above and beyond: they contacted us via WhatsApp to ensure our safe arrival and warmly welcomed us with a smile at 2am! The next morning, we missed breakfast, but the staff couldn’t have been more accommodating. They brought us frothy cappuccinos and warm chocolate croissants—an absolute treat. The food throughout our stay was exceptional. We all loved the bruschetta, and they even made a gluten-free version especially for my friend. The fresh lemons used were picked straight from the garden, and the house wine was just perfect. They also kindly made a special pasta dish for my picky son, which he thoroughly enjoyed. The rooms are quaint, very clean, and the sheets were changed daily. All of the staff were truly incredible—genuinely warm and welcoming. You are made to feel like part of the family, and nothing is too much trouble. The location is also very convenient with a bus stop right outside, and the hotel works with a fantastic local taxi driver named Luigi. The gardens are beautiful, filled with lemon trees, and offer a peaceful, authentic charm. We wholeheartedly recommend this hotel and can’t wait to return next year. Thank you to the entire team for making our trip so magical!

Just returned from an overnight stay and have nothing but excellent things to say about this resort. They picked us up at the port, called a taxi for us when we were stuck in downtown with no taxis in sight, and brought us our luggage the day we left at the port so we could shop that afternoon. Everyone at the front desk was attentive and helpful. Really liked Ernesto from dining. He makes you feel like a VIP.

My daughter and I spent four nights at the Grifo in July. Let me tell you just how perfect this hotel is. It is small and perfectly formed. Every aspect of this hotel has been thought through. The staff are delightful and very helpful. There is no hard sell on anything. The food is divine and Enzo was totally charming whilst serving us our meals in the restaurant. The breakfast is amazing, all sorts of pastry delights as well as cheese, cold meats and also eggs and bacon. We ate at the hotel twice I would highly recommend the meals, bravo Chef! The courtesy bus is great for whizzing up and down the hillside! The staff go out of their way to make sure that if you need a lift you will get one from them. Because the hotel is set up in the hills it is cooler in the evenings which is a bonus. Did I mention the spa? Excellent facilities and plenty of choice on the therapies on offer. This hotel is totally delightful I can't recommend it highly enough.

Grifo Hotel exceeded our expectations by far. The hotel and pool were meticulously well kept and clean, the location was perfect, the food was tasty and the staff was exceptional. The shuttle service was really helpful. I would give 6 stars if I could!
Grace M — Google review
7/6/25 very nice staff and excellent hospitality. The shuttle to and from town was convenient at times although the schedule is confusing as it doesn’t run consistently . The pool is nice to cool off in . Breakfast did leave room for an improvement , very basic. Air conditioning didn’t work, we could not get the room to cool and could not sleep. You also need to rent additional towels for 5 euro.
Eric G — Google review
An exceptional hotel with the most incredible service. Paradise! We travelled with our 4 teenage daughters and we had the best holiday thanks to The Grifo Hotel. My eldest daughter is vegan and emailed the hotel to let them know before we arrived, Enzo and the team went to special lengths to make sure she didn't miss out, she had special cakes, cheeses and yoghurts at breakfast every morning, and customised meals prepared for her every night, it absolutely made the holiday for her. We stayed half board so had breakfast and a four course evening meal in the hotel every night, within a day it felt like Enzo knew us all personally, he bought us our preferred drinks at breakfast without being asked, it was a personal service I've never experienced before and really made the holiday even more special for all of us. The food was delicious and the portions were huge, we certainly ate extremely well. We could even chose to have a four course lunch instead of dinner which made our days more flexible, they really did look after us so well. The shuttle bus was another fantastic service, I don't know how they did it but it was always available to take us to the bus stop or to the town and to pick us up when we called. The location of the hotel was gorgeous, the views were stunning, it was so peaceful away from the hustle and bustle, an absolute paradise. It was also the cleanest hotel I've ever stayed in, every inch of it was immaculate, and the bedrooms were often cleaned before we even returned from breakfast. I really can't fault the hotel, I'd have happily stayed there for the week and not gone out, the pool, the roof terrace, the spa, the restaurant and the rooms were all perfect. Ischia was also amazing, the friendly hotel reception staff helped us arrange our week, they booked a wonderful boat trip, and advised us on the best places to go, we visted Forio, Negombo, the castle, the Mortella gardens and Ischia Porto, we also hiked up the hills and through the woodland above the hotel, we could have stayed another week and still not have seen everything. I don't think we'll ever experience a hotel like the Grifo Hotel again unless we come back which I would definitely love to do! Thank you for an exceptional holiday!
Tracy S — Google review
We had the best family holiday at grifo- they were extremely accommodating of our 8 month baby. It was a great place to stay to relax with beautiful pool and restaurant/bar on site. Special shoutout to enzo, cleanliness the shuttle bus to town. We booked a sea view room and it was a stunning view of the ocean 😍
Mick T — Google review
The hotel is in a serene part on the island of Ischia. The problem is that it is far from all attractions and it is not possible to take public transport and then walk to the hotel. Where the bus drops you off is about a kilometer from the hotel, which is not bad, but there is no walkable road to it. So you have to depend on the hotel shuttle, which is somewhat limited in its times and where it will go. The hotel has a spa underground, which is a nice feature. Luciano in the front desk was a helpful, friendly chap; others were a little taciturn.
Sonata C — Google review
I had a fantastic stay at the Grifo Hotel. The staff are excellent and made my stay most comfortable. The rooms and common areas are very clean and tidy, and the staff routinely addressed me by name. Transfers to and from the port were very easy, and the front desk made sure that I knew where to catch the boat back to Naples. Though I didn't eat at the restaurant for dinner, Enzo delivered exceptional service at both breakfast and lunch. I left the hotel feeling refreshed.

The spacious sea-view suites, set in ancient towers or cottages within the park, feature balconies or terraces with comfortable sitting areas.
Top notch hotel with amazing staff and excellent on site dining options. You can tell they go above and beyond for guests, memorizing your name and room number. I’ve stayed at hundreds of hotels in dozens of countries and this is by far one of the nicest I’ve ever visited. They’ve thought of almost every detail and have delighted my wife on several occasions with their personal touches. I highly recommend this hotel, the rooms in the tower are top notch, and the grounds are truly beautiful. The nearby town is also extremely cute.

I had an amazing stay at Mezzatorre, truly one of the most scenic places I’ve ever visited. The gardens are absolutely stunning, with lush greenery and vibrant flowers everywhere you look. The sea views are simply breathtaking, no matter where you are on the property, you’re surrounded by nature, trees, and the most beautiful landscapes. It’s peaceful, spectacular, and feels like a true escape. The food was excellent throughout my stay, and what stood out the most was the exceptional service. Every single member of the staff was incredibly kind and attentive, it’s genuinely the hotel’s greatest strength. I felt so well cared for, and I especially appreciated the thoughtful gesture they made for my birthday. Thank you for making it special! The spa and gym facilities were also great well maintained and relaxing. I do wish there had been yoga blocks available in the studio (and maybe some elastic straps), as that would really enhance the practice. Perhaps they were available and I just didn’t ask. The only 2 small things I’d love to see improved is a wider selection on the poolside menu just a few more options would be perfect and more selection of meats (turkey, beef) on the breakfast buffet (and just overall more options of food). That said, I absolutely recommend this hotel. It’s a beautiful, serene place with amazing staff and thoughtful touches that make the stay truly memorable.

Stayed 3 nights for the first time. And I must say, one of the nicest, most beautiful hotels we have ever stayed at, bar none. The rooms were incredible; the service impeccable and the entire property is literally breathtaking and stunning. The pool and ocean area are so quiet with no music in the background, mature adults relaxing, no noise but only the birds in the trees and the sound of the ocean. This is not a place for young kids truth be told. It is completely quiet and they have only 48 rooms. So while there and although it was booked, it literally felt as though no one was there. Solitude at its best and natures' blood pressure medication for anyone who needs to escape and get away. I could go on for pages but in short, we shall be definitely coming back. I must give a shout out to a few (although everyone was spectacular) Valerio, Antonio, Marco and Salvatore. The pool and beach staff were also incredible working tirelessly in the hot sun to make sure every patron was comfortable and happy. My favorite hotel ever!
Brian G — Google review
This is the perfect hotel. Absolutely beautiful in every way. Everything has been thought of. Every staff member is kind and goes out of their way to make you feel welcome. They are great with kids, but kids don’t overwhelm the place, they blend into the chill atmosphere. We booked our trip for next year before we left, can’t wait to go back.

The great: service, the staff. A+++ helpful, friendly, professional. They did a great job. The good: it’s a beautiful setting. Secluded. A little far away The not great: the price and look of the rooms. The marketing is good but the rooms definitely do not look like the photos. Superior room terraces are very uneven. It’s a little over promise and under deliver. I just don’t think it’s worth the $1600 a night given all the options on island and in Europe. The big hotel groups marketing departments are good at what they do! Expect to pay $25 a trip to get to and from the hotel even 5 min drives. Taxis are a racket. I spent $200 a day on transportation

Absolutely incredible service at this beautiful hotel. The staff go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. Incredible pool with direct ocean access to swim. Beautiful bar. Thermal spa also a highlight. Along with the always friendly welcome from the porters and drivers.

The only reason I give two stars is due to the fact that the location is beautiful and the service in the restaurant is good. Terrible front office service, no smile , no hospitality they might as well work in a hostel. The service is comparable to walking into Abercrombie & fitch. Cleaning was terrible, we checked in to a dirty room (room 503) (hairs everywhere from the previous guests and on the minibar) truly more like a 3.5 star hotel in the Almafi coast… I do agree with a previous review most of their reviews are from their staff…

Had an amazing stay at this place. The host Rosario is a gem of a person. He marked all the best beaches for us on a map and gave us a detailed description of how, where and what to see. I have never met a more generous host than Rosario. He was always enthusiastic to help and even dropped us at the port at 3:30 am! Our stay wouldn't have been memorable without Rosario. The property is amazing and the rooms are very spacious. I will blindly book this place anytime I visit to Ischia

Warm and helpful welcome by Rosario, he is a super host who was always on hand for anything we needed during our 3 night stay. The grounds of the hotel are beautiful, the pool and jacuzzi always clean. If you rent a car or scooter (Rosario helped with this as well) there is free parking behind the hotel. The rooms are spotless and come with basic amenities. We really enjoyed our stay here and felt at ease as soon as we met Rosario! We would love to come back, thank you so much.

Amazing bed and breakfast! We had a wonderful stay in the center of Forio! Close to everything, easily accessible, lots of shops nearby but is peaceful at night. The room has everything you need for a comfortable stay and they clean the room and change towels and sheets everyday. Wonderful rooftop with sunbeds and jacuzzi!

We very much enjoyed our stay at the White 1903. Umberto is a friendly host with good recommendations in regards to restaurants and activities. I very much enjoyed star gazing on the terrace. The sunsets are amazing too. Everything around Forio can be accessed by a walk of no more than 30 minutes. Be aware of the traffic though.

Perfect location to stay in Ischia. One block away from all the restaurants, cafes, and bars in Forio. 15min bus ride away from Poseidon thermal pools park. Bus stop is very close as well. The room(including the bathroom) were clean and very well maintained. For the price, this is a great place to stay in Forio. Umberto was really helpful and he gave us all the directions to getting on the bus to Ischia porto and Poseidon and he also made a reservation for dinner for us. Really appreciate all the help he gave us! I would definitely stay here again next time I visit Ischia/Forio. Highly recommend.

Amazing and clean B&B in the center of one of the big cities in Ischia! Super close to all the important spots like the ferry port (200m), scooter rental (250m), or the perfect breakfast spots on the main street (100m). Highly recommend the rooftop sauna as well!

The perfect location for anyone visiting Ischia. Get ready for a warm welcome (10/10) and comfortable spacious rooms. The rooftop is perfect for relaxing and to enjoy the view of Forio. Highly recommend.

This property has asked me to cancel my paid booking without any reason! They just wrote me in WhatsApp that I need to cancel it, because they will be closed on the dates of my booking. I went to Booking and checked their availability on those dates and found out that they still had that room but the price was much higher! So they didn't want to cancel my booking by themselves not to be fined by booking, they asked me to cancel it. Do not recommend to book this property, especcially if you see the "special offer" from them. They could cancel your booking a few days before your arrival. Very poor service!

(Translated by Google) I stayed for 3 days in this structure which I highly recommend to anyone wanting to spend a few days on the island. Booked by calling the property directly. I had the opportunity to speak with Umberto who made the room available to me Room and also advised me where to rent the scooter by putting me in contact with the owners. Upon my arrival I found a girl named Erika and the cleaning lady who gave us a lot of useful information for getting around. Spotless rooms, excellent location. Breakfast agreement at the bar in front of the b&b where the Breakfast wasn't bad at all.

(Translated by Google) Three days nothing short of fantastic. The structure is located in a space surrounded by greenery with very welcoming, clean rooms with a wonderful view (to be enjoyed comfortably sitting outside your room or in the various designated spaces). The staff was extremely welcoming and this occasion for my boyfriend and I was certainly a fundamental part of our experience here in Ischia. It will certainly be an experience to be repeated and recommended to anyone. (Original) Tre giorni a dir poco fantastici.

The villa is meticulously maintained and immersed in an atmosphere that immediately invites relaxation. The restaurant won us over with its cuisine: authentic, carefully prepared, and truly excellent dishes that perfectly express the island's flavors. A special thanks to Eleonora for her warm welcome and helpfulness: we felt at home from the very first moment. A big hug and... see you soon! (Translated by Google) The staff was very kind and welcoming, always attentive to the needs of the guests. The chef is very good — the food was very tasty, varied and you could even ask for something more. The family that runs the Villa is extremely hospitable and customer-oriented. The guitar serenade created a unique atmosphere, adding warmth, relaxation and an unforgettable touch to the sunset. At the end of the evening there was also dancing: for us a wonderful experience 🤩 (Original) Lo staff è stato molto gentile e accogliente, sempre attento ai bisogni degli ospiti. (Translated by Google) We stayed at this property for a week and felt welcomed like family. The villa has a view over the whole of Ischia. The sunsets from the terrace are paintings that steal your heart. The staff is attentive to making you experience truly relaxing days and to respond to all requests. Chef Michele was able to make my 4-year-old Cecilia try all his dishes and she still asks for her parmigiana. Varied and excellent quality cuisine. We will definitely be back. Torneremo sicuramente.

(Translated by Google) Villa with infinite potential, shame about the lack of attention to detail and the rooms, some of which were truly terrible, the accommodation for 3 was a double bed and a bed base... Never seen anything like it. The bathroom is very small and the space created for the shower is something truly ridiculous, to be forgotten. I repeat, it's a shame because the structure could be the most beautiful on the island.
