DER STEIRER is a laid-back and trendy destination in Graz, located just a short walk from the old town. It offers a modern take on traditional Styrian cuisine and boasts a wide selection of Austrian wines, paying homage to the area's wine heritage. The restaurant also features a to-go section for souvenirs, allowing guests to customize their own paper gift bags. With its focus on seasonal and authentic Styrian food, it's a popular choice among locals and visitors alike.
My wife, my baby, and I decided to go to Der Steirer for Mother’s Day and grab some traditional Styrian food. We did not have a reservation, and we were initially told that they had no tables. The host then said he would look to see if they could accommodate us. He quickly came back and told us that he had a table for us. My wife and I both ordered some traditional food. Service was very quick, and the atmosphere in the restaurant was great. The food and drinks were well priced, especially for the area that the restaurant is in. Everything was incredibly delicious. I would highly recommend trying this place out if you’re looking for traditional Austrian food.
Attila G — Google review
Great dining experience! We wanted to avoid a touristy spot and really enjoyed having dinner alongside the locals. I booked a table through Google, and the confirmation was prompt. The atmosphere was relaxed, yet the service was classy and professional—with real candles on the tables, cloth napkins, and uniformed waiters. We ordered the goulash, (the real veal) schnitzel, and their Styrian fried chicken—all dishes were delicious. I also recommend their lavender-infused water.
Mihai P — Google review
A busy restaurant – upon my arrival it was already full of guests. I offered to come back later, but at my request they found me a table in a quiet corner. That was very positive. The atmosphere is pleasant – a modern yet simple and elegant setting, exactly what such a bistro should deliver with so many guests. Although the service is bustling, the waiters still pay attention to every guest, and I always received a warm smile. The food is exceptional, a true reflection of Austrian gastronomy. Everything is prepared and presented just as a guest would expect: delicious, homely, soul-warming dishes with a touch of French elegance. The dill and the fish, served with its own caviar, already establish the chef’s signature. And if you still have doubts… try the schnitzel… and finally the apfelstrudel! When I left, I felt love and respect in my heart. That doesn’t usually happen. I recommend it to everyone!
Peter K — Google review
Great spot, thought it would be super busy, but it had many free spots. Recommend coming before six for a guaranteed spot. Their fried chicken was very juicy, we took the mushroom soup too, it was very different from the classical cream soups, it had pieces of potatoes and mushrooms. It was very comforting and cozy.
Mishel B — Google review
Excellent food! Made a reservation through Google (very convenient), and had a great meal! Wiener Schnitzel (veal), a very good hausbier and a wonderful apple strudel- all so very tasty! I’m glad I was staying next door so I could enjoy this restaurant!
Tom L — Google review
Food was amazing and the staff were even better! Traditional cuisine and a good wine selection too. Great, relaxed atmosphere and the puddings were next level! I had a perfect creme Brulee! 10/10
Ryan H — Google review
one of the well known restaurant in the area. The place located near the iconic art gallery in Graz. It could be very busy on weekends especially at night. Reservation is recommended. Their signature fried-chicken is great. Overall service is on average especially during the peak hours.

While in Graz on business, we decided to have dinner at this wonderful restaurant our first night in Graz Austria. It is connected to the hotel we stayed at, which was also wonderful, The Hotel Weitzer. A great hotel and a simply wonderful and amazing Restaurant. Our business host in Graz, had recommended this hotel and restaurant to us. And we were all very impressed with the food and drinks at Der Steirer. I had the Backhendl and it was simply awesome. One of my coworkers had the Weiner Schnitzel and he said it was unbelievable and it looked amazing. Several desserts were ordered but be sure to order the Strudel and the crème Brûlée. They were both so delicious. I would highly recommend this restaurant if you are ever in Graz Austria 🇦🇹 Paul Calgary Canada 🇨🇦

Frankowitsch is a historic, family-run deli in Graz that has been serving open-face sandwiches with various toppings for over 80 years. The establishment offers fancy pastries, cured meats, seafood, and cheeses. Visitors can enjoy a glass of prosecco and indulge in roast-beef, lobster, or egg-salad sandwiches while soaking up the local atmosphere.
The bread is great. I can probably eat it as is and still enjoy it. With the toppings though, it's just perfect! If we lived closer to this place, we would buy here regularly. Simple, pretty, and delicious.

Excellent service and great food. We came here because the place was recommended to us as tourists visiting Graz. We cannot eat egg and garlic and the lady behind the counter was super helpful. Thanks a lot we really appreciated it

This place was recommended by an acquaintance and it must have been my most favorite place to eat in Graz! The open faced sandwiches were delicious and I regret that we only ate there once. If I'm ever in Graz I would definitely return. Highly recommended!!!

Classic sandwich shop which is very popular by locals to have a few bites with a glas of wine or Prosecco. Lots of choices (meat, vegetarian or vegan), great quality and service in special ambiance directly in the heart of the city.

I have been nearly every time I visited my hometown the last 35 years there and enjoyed the place. Unfortunately, today's it was different Firstly the coffee was burned...no idea why nobody check this ( just a black coffee ) the sandwich spread was nice but the toast bread was at least a day old and fircdure not fresch ) bedide this the lady which served was bot really welcoming but I thing she just was under stress so thats not the point). But bad coffee and old bread, sorry that's a no go

Aiola Upstairs is a sophisticated dining space with breathtaking views of the city skyline. It's perfect for enjoying a romantic meal in a beautiful setting, with dishes such as tuna or beef tartare and vegetable risotto on the menu. The service is excellent and the atmosphere romantic, making it one of Graz's most popular restaurants.
I had a salad and a main dish. The food was good and the view amazing.
Rosi K — Google review
Best asset is the view of the city. Being a tourist trap, the service is far from optimal. Be ready to be treated not with the highest welcoming spirit and also be ready for anything you want to take long time (10 minutes to even be acknowledged, 22 minutes to get someone to take your order, rather having to stand up and say walk to the exit to pay because no one will bring you the check). Food is standard so don’t expect anything amazing.
Josh C — Google review
Very nice open terrace on the Tower Hill. Limited selection but good food. Recommend. LEO♥️
Iztok Ž — Google review
Great place to spend a few hours (you can reserve for 2 hours), enjoy the view, and people watch. Very good service. I recommend paying to take the lift up to the restaurant unless you want a short, intense workout on the way to your meal.
Kimberly J — Google review
Beautiful view with a relaxing atmosphere. It's great for a short break. We got a Apfelstrudel which was great but be aware that you have to order vanilla ice cream or sauce extra and pay additionally for it.
Jasmin H — Google review
Visited a bakery machine supplier in Graz. They brought me to this restaurant situated on top of a hill. We took a tram up to reach the restaurant. The food is great, service is out of the world. I would like to comment the waitress who knows her wines so well. As per images I bought 4 bottles back to my house-stay. Up there, you have a sky scraper view of Graz city. This is a beautiful place of visit, not too overcrowded with tourists. The people in Graz are very kind.
Henry N — Google review
We had a drink there, what a view! The inside is stunning, the terrace is an exceptional spot. Don't be fooled by Maps telling you it's only a 6 minutes walk though... You'll arrive there sweating unless you take the (very) expensive elevator.
Pierre B — Google review
After a vigorous ascent to the top of Schlossberg in Graz, my visit to Aiola Upstairs was nothing short of a rewarding experience. The panoramic views from the restaurant are truly breathtaking, offering a spectacular vista over the city that enhances the dining experience. The food at Aiola Upstairs was absolutely delightful. The menu's variety caters to all palates, and every bite was a treat to the senses. Equally impressive was the service; the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. They took great care to ensure that our meal was enjoyable, providing recommendations and attending to our needs with a smile. Their professionalism added a personal touch to our meal that made the experience even more special. In conclusion, Aiola Upstairs is definitely worth the visit. The combination of delicious food, stunning views, and exemplary service makes it a must-visit destination for anyone coming to Graz. Whether you're looking for a romantic dinner spot or a place to relax after exploring Schlossberg, Aiola Upstairs will not disappoint.

Flea & Street Markets
Bauernmarkt Kaiser-Josef-Platz, located near the opera house in Graz, is a daily farmers market where over 350 local farmers offer a wide variety of indigenous fruits, vegetables, wines, wursts, breads, pastries and cheeses. The market also features Murodner potatoes, Kernol pumpkin seed oil and local beers like Reininghaus Edel Pils and Puntigamer Lager.
Lively and offering a lot of choices, bio meats, great breads, permaculture stands, in addition to great selection of veggies. Food truck / options to eat on location. July 2019 there is reconstruction so the market moved to the other side of the Opera. We were told it's open daily with the biggest market happening on Saturday.
Jay Z — Google review
Very nice open market for fruit, vegetables, mushrooms, sausages, jams, honeys, bread, cakes, juices, and other regional specialities. Prices are not excessive but certainly not cheap. There's a good selection though. If you want to see all stalls open, you should come earlier than the indicated closing time, as not all stalls stay open until the end. The market is easy to be accessed, as there's a tramway stop just there (for the Graz opera).
Oliver F — Google review
Great choice of wares but by far the most expensive farmers market in Graz which is why I would never recommend it
Cecilia B — Google review
I love this marked. Always fresh seasonal fruit, vegetable, meat and self made bread to find. All grown by local farmers around the area. Very sustainable and traditional place. On every corner you will find a different good smell to every type of food you can imagine. They also sell flowers there, If you need some for a special event. If you need to rest you can sit down and get fresh cold smoothies, juices and coffee or hot chocolate. I would recommend to bring either your own bags, backpack or a box to put in your bought items, otherwise you have to waste many plastic bags...and who does that at a farmers market. The market is in the city centre and well connected to public transport, and bike lines. This is for sure a great place for every type of person in every age group.
Phillipe C — Google review
A lot of local products, like pumpkin oil (kurbiskeröl), meat products, etc.
Andrey K — Google review
My absolute favorite farmers market. Lots of different shops, great selection of local seasonal food. You can really walk around and get inspired to cook new things you maybe haven't tried before. I go every week!
Hailey B — Google review
You should definitely visit this market in the noon, it's located near the park in front of the opera with nice architecture. Locals selling here their self made stuff. After skaters take over the place and show off their Flip tricks

Nestled in a prime location at one end of Graz's bustling plaza, Gösser Bräu is a charming and laid-back eatery that invites you to indulge in hearty comfort food. With its inviting beer garden, it’s the perfect spot to unwind while savoring delicious salads, soups, and desserts. The surrounding area boasts a stunning fountain dedicated to Archduke Johann, surrounded by uniquely attractive buildings and lively market stalls selling local goods.
As a world-traveling culinary enthusiast, stepping into Gösser Bräu feels like entering the heart of Graz’s brewing heritage—especially with its charming rooftop beer garden nestled under a chestnut tree canopy. The interior blends sturdy brewery tables with warm lighting, perfect for a comforting evening. The menu, freshly updated for August 2025, features gems like the historic Gösser Bräu Gulasch since 1902 with potatoes, Frankfurter, pickles and a sunny fried egg; creamy Käsespätzle crowned with mountain cheese and crunchy onions; and the ever-cozy Frittatensuppe and Apfelstrudel with whipped cream. The beer selection is impressive—eight taps showcasing local brews that pair effortlessly with each dish. Service stands out—warm, attentive, and genuine—adding to the relaxed, convivial atmosphere. Whether it’s enjoying a sumptuous schnitzel in the rooftop garden or sipping a crisp lager indoors, Gösser Bräu delivers an authentic, hearty taste of Styrian hospitality. A must-visit for those who want tradition, flavor, and atmosphere all in one memorable outing.
Martha M — Google review
The Gösser Bräu looks like a typical old brewery in cliché style. It has some beautiful details and one immediately is absorbed by the atmosphere. However food was unfortunately mediocre at best. I had the Cordon Bleu which is served with potatoes as side. Both main plate and sides lacked taste. The cheese inside the meat was lacking taste - and there was barely some cheese. Service was friendly but not very charming and had no time for a simple smile. Bummer, because the location and the atmosphere is great.
Claudio K — Google review
Lovely place close to the city center. Excellent bier and really good service. The menu good with different choices. The food is quite good. Maybe the value for money is little bit higher. We recommend this place.
Edoardo M — Google review
We stopped here for dinner, with no reservation, but got a table. Service was really nice and attentive. The food was good, not the best, not the worst. We had a beef goulash and a pork schnitzel. Huge portions, the schnitzel could easily be shared by two people (as there were two schnitzels on my plate...). Nice atmosphere, good beer.
Simina S — Google review
At first we came str8 for the beer, and it was incredible! But we were surprised that the menu felt good and the food was very tasty (the mushroom's soup) and the bagel with the typical cheese spread - it went really good with the beer. Also the waiters were really nice, and honest. The only missing thing was that the food felt a bit 'tired' cuz we arrived kind of late.
Sapir — Google review
A nice restaurant with a pleasant atmosphere. The food itself was good and came out as expected, no complaints there. One odd part of the experience: when we were seated, there was an old, stale pretzel already sitting on the table. On a little wooden hanger. At the end of the meal, they tried to charge us for it, even though we hadn’t ordered or touched it. The charge was removed once we pointed it out, but definitely odd. Overall, decent food and a nice setting, but the pretzel incident was unusual.
Brian B — Google review
Gösser Bräu nails it. Fresh beer, flawless service — quick, friendly, no fuss. Had the Schweinsbraten with boiled potatoes — simple and spot-on. They know what they’re doing. 🍺🔥
Yevhenii T — Google review
Reservation very good via phone and also the welcome. Thw service was excellent. The toilets was very dirty for the pricing policy. Also the food was below average for the cost of each dish. fries plain frozen low quality fries. the schnitzels very salty with tasteless meat. the barbecue ribs with lots of cinnamon to hide the bad meat. the cost especially expensive for the quality.

Located in the Landhaus neighborhood of Graz, Landhauskeller is a charming restaurant set inside a stunning Renaissance courtyard. The restaurant offers a pleasant atmosphere and serves delicious local cuisine, including hearty dishes like Wiener Schnitzel and refined Austrian cooking such as Tafelspitz and local fillet of trout. With an enchanting courtyard adorned with wide umbrellas, it's an ideal spot for dining in good weather.
Best schnitzel I have ever had! Very busy on the holidays so make sure you get a reservation! But everything was amazing!
IZAIAH I — Google review
Nice and elegant Restaurant. We were satisfied with the food and the service. It's a little bit pricy. We paid almost double here than in Vienna.
Patrik T — Google review
As a well-traveled food enthusiast, stepping into Landhauskeller is like entering a living tapestry of Styrian tradition and modern grace. Set beneath high vaulted Renaissance arches, the dining room emanates a harmonious blend of warmth and elegance—a place where cozy booths, ambient lighting, and mellow laughter invite you to linger. Though the complete menu remains discreet, I savored a flawlessly crisp Wiener Schnitzel, tender veal, and a refined steak, each dish showcasing the integrity of regional ingredients. Dessert—the comforting apple strudel and indulgent crème brûlée—offered a perfect, sweet punctuation to the meal. The bar, dubbed "Katze Katze," adds a playful, imaginative twist, making each visit feel both elegant and intimate. Service felt heartfelt and polished; staff made me feel genuinely welcome, and every detail—from the dish presentation to the wine recommendation—demonstrated thoughtful care. Landhauskeller isn’t just a meal—it’s an invitation to experience Styrian hospitality at its finest, wrapped in historic charm and culinary sincerity. A truly memorable stop in Graz.
Martha M — Google review
After arriving at Graz, this was our first Styrian meal and it did not disappoint - but rather set the standard! Reservations definitely recommended at this busy restaurant/bar. We were seated in a cozy wood panelled dining area with banquettes. Service was brisk yet attentive throughout. Ordered the deeply satisfying cream of asparagus soup (served hot and perfect to start on a cool October evening!). Schnitzel was huge (standard size) - pounded thin, flavorful and an amazingly thin crunchy crust that seemed to almost float on top of the meat. A serving of lambs lettuce, potato salad, crispy bacon and the sweet vinegary tang with the unmistakable nuttiness of pumpkin seed oil dressing was the perfect side for the schnitzel - no need to separately order a side of rice with peas or parsley potatoes - which we couldn't finish! A wonderful first meal in Graz!
Anne L — Google review
The service was incredibly efficient—fast, attentive, and genuinely friendly, making the experience even more enjoyable. The Wiener Schnitzel was authentic and perfectly cooked, with a deliciously crispy crust and tender meat. Truly a standout dish in both flavor and presentation. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a genuine taste of traditional Austrian cuisine in a welcoming atmosphere

My first visit to the lovely town of Graz, Austria, was delightful. The city charmed me with its people, heritage, scenery, and food. There was so much energy as I arrived in town, eager to indulge in authentic Austrian cuisine. The restaurant I visited is situated next to an old heritage house, and dining outdoors was especially enjoyable with the cool night breeze. The menu featured authentic Austrian dishes, and we started with a variety of appetizers: slow-cooked pork neck, lamb salad, beef broth, and beef tartare. Each dish was outstanding. For the main course, I had the charred fillet with truffle spaghetti and sautéed zucchini and tomatoes. The fillet was perfectly cooked, with a charred exterior and moist interior. Most of my colleagues opted for beef dishes, which they also found excellent. Overall, it was a fantastic place to relax with a few glasses of wine.

Ginko is a modern cafeteria located in a small old town passage near the main square. It's an offshoot of the Ginko restaurant and offers a daily self-service buffet with international vegetarian dishes. The cafe serves the Greenhouse Blend, made from directly traded coffee beans from Brazil and El Salvador. The menu features a variety of dishes, including Indian vegetable pan, Styrian salad, curries, and rice dishes.
great vegan buffet, a very large selection of vegan dishes, the food is very tasty and fresh, fast service, large space, good coffee and cakes. great place 😍😍😍
Peter K — Google review
As far as vegan buffets go, the variety of ingredients is more than sufficient. The flavours tend to pull in direction of Indian cuisine(curries etc), but there are also enough other choices. The meals are tasty. Whatever you put on your plate, make sure that you do not skip the chutney (excellent if you are keen on slightly spicier add on to your dishes). The plates go in a scale and you pay per mass.
Omar V — Google review
The food was delicious and the menu was varied. We were greeted by the young ladies who immediately made us feel at ease. Another plus was the warm welcome they gave our dog, Lulù. We absolutely must return.👍🏻👍🏻😁😁

As an adventurous food-lover who follows the beat of the world’s best bites, discovering Ginko in the heart of Graz is like stumbling upon a vibrant oasis of vegan culinary creativity. Open, airy, and welcoming, the café floods with natural light, inviting you to explore its colorful, self-service buffet island—from crisp, seasonal salads to thoughtfully prepared warm dishes, all made with conscious care and priced by weight. I delighted in mixing and matching a plate of beautifully fresh salads, hearty mains, and a fragrant soup—each bite felt honest and thoughtfully composed. Later, the pastry counter captured my heart: vegan cakes and tarts so luscious and delicious, each slice a testament to their in-house bakery’s gentle care and artisan craft. The minimalist décor and friendly staff only added to the cozy yet modern vibe. True, the price-per-gram approach means your experience is as personal as your plate—but seeing how lovingly each dish is prepared, it’s a small price for such mindful indulgence. Ginko isn’t just a meal—it’s a celebration of vegan cuisine done with soul, style, and sincerity. A must-visit in Graz for conscious diners and anyone craving food that feels both good and great.

overrated and overpriced. i like that everything is vegan, but 18€/kg?? that's the price of an all you can eat buffet. i paid 22€ for the first picture and it was not even that good. all the salads were just sourly seasoned. the only thing i was impressed of was the wok in picture 2. i would've given 2 stars if the waitress who cleaned, hadn't given my dog a bowl to drink from. no one guided us, nor greeted us, if you didn't know how their system worked, you would be confused.

May 2022. Great spot for all likings (and dietary requirements). Kids & dogs welcome. Ginko is an all-vegan buffet-organized restaurant, most of the dishes are gluten free. They have a broad range of cold and warm dishes one can choose from. The different salads and main courses cover eastern-mediteranean/Levante, adriatic-mediteranean as well as Austrian home cuisine and include, for example, oven roasted veggies, quinoa, dahls and curries or stews such as ratatouille. The menu varies daily, all dishes are prepared on site and produce is sourced locally and of organic quality. The prize is by weight of the plate, in general it is on the higher side, but worth every penny! I highly recommend this place.

Veggie lovers will appreciate the variety of options, including oriental oats, tabbouleh, and fasouliyeh.
We decided to sit down to this mezze bar for dinner during our sightseeing in Graz. Very delicious food, we enjoyed all. Many vegetarian and vegan options. (We are not, but in a place like that you don’t even feel the need to eat meat!) Staff is friendly and easy going. Thanks

I suggest you this restaurant to try new tastes like fried feta cheese covered with sesame. You can order fully vegan food or add some meat to the recipe, what we did in the sandwiches. We ate dinner at this restaurant and it was very busy, there is less chance of finding a table if you don’t reserve.

The menu has many small dishes, we couldn't make up our mind and went for the set menu , which was really good and gave us a good variety of tasty dishes. The wine menu was good using local wines Our waiter was extremely helpful and patient with us. We booked our table in advance, it does get busy , however they do have a garden as well.

Lovely spot for Mediterranean food. We did the mezze plate for two people, which was the perfect amount. All the food is super fresh and bio. The courtyard is charming. Great service!

Roasted beef smelled like spoiled beef, rancid. And it was not roasted or crunchy, the name is deceiving, it was more like steamed beef. And nothing was fresh, the egg you could see has gone brown being out for so long. I don't recommend it. Coffee was good though.

Visitors can also enjoy the inviting terrace with its scenic views. Additionally, the shop offers an array of super tasty cheeses that are not to be missed.
I recently visited this place and was extremely impressed. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with smiles and friendliness. The atmosphere is very pleasant, with comfortable decor and ambient music that contributes to a relaxing experience. I ordered the salmon, which was absolutely delicious. Cooked to perfection, with a slightly crispy crust and a juicy interior. The side of broccoli and sweet potato was fresh and complemented the main dish perfectly. But the real surprise was the homemade strudel with plums and almonds. Simply fabulous it was the best strudel I’ve ever tasted. Definitely worth trying! I wholeheartedly recommend this place

We found this little shop on the way home from a fishing trip to Bosnia. Absolutely stunning little shop. We wanted to bring back chocolate and cheese for are wives and the lady who served us was so helpful and even gave us free cool bags so it would last all the way home. 5 star service cannot recommend enough. Lovely staff Lovely shop😍

We had a lunch consisting of a mountain lamb roll and a Schlossberg surprise cold plate here. Both were some of the best food experiences we've had in a while. The cold plate provided a good selection of regional specialities from the fine groceries shop below, with some excellent cheeses and sausages, the lamb roll was tender and exquisit. Well worth the visit, especially considering the very friendly service. The location is tucked away behind a doorway, off from the main street, and the entrance to the restaurant is not too obvious, so be on the look out.

As a seasoned culinary explorer, walking into dreizehn by Gauster feels like entering an oasis of modern elegance in the heart of Graz. The interior blends cool minimalism with warmth—cushioned chairs, soft lighting, and sleek bar artfully invite conversation. Morning sunlight filters onto the terrace at Franziskanerplatz, marrying urban charm with soft energy. For lunch, I chose the thoughtful lunch set—a delicate starter followed by a beautifully plated main course, finished with rich espresso and a sweet treat. It’s a concise meal done exceptionally well. But the real gem? The surprise tasting menu—each course a refined revelation, inventive ravioli here, exceptional beef tartare there, all bursting with seasonal creativity. The wine pairing elevated the experience—staff suggested bottles that complemented textures and flavors perfectly. Conversations flowed easily, drinks lingered leisurely, and service felt intuitive without ever being overbearing. Whether it's a quick yet indulgent mid-day meal or an immersive evening of surprises, dreizehn by Gauster delivers a culinary journey that's stylish, sophisticated, and deeply satisfying. Highly recommended for those who crave elegance, innovation, and heartfelt hospitality in every bite.

This has got to be the best meal we’ve had since landing in Europe 3 weeks ago. Go for the surprise menu - 3 courses plus a snack to start and it was fantastic - pomegranate cocktail was really good too! Won’t tell you what we had as it will spoil your surprise but really worth the money. Staff are friendly and very attentive too. Only negative for us was all the smokers!

The staff were extremely welcoming, understanding and professional. The atmosphere was minimalistic yet elegant. The food (sous-vide lamb shoulder) was exquisetly made; very soft as well as having a rich depth of flavour. It also came out fairly quick, with little waiting time (note that it was not very crowded). The focus is definitely on a quality service, which the price mirrors. Recommended.

Great service. Not even by Austrian standards but really World class! We were given a table with a deadline (we had no booking and there was an evening reservation), but we bare felt it. The food was on time and we managed to have all dished well before the table needed to be cleared. The food itself was delicious. The beef tartare was really out of this world, the ravioli and gyōza were on par. I highly recommend the place.

The Kunsthauscafe, located in the Graz Art Museum, offers a unique dining experience for art enthusiasts and food lovers alike. The cafe provides an all-day breakfast menu with artistic combinations such as the "Hundertwasser" featuring free-range egg and honey, the "Pablo Picasso" with antipasti, grilled shrimp, and avocado, and the "Kunsthaus" including ham, cheese, egg, yogurt, and salami.
A very welcoming place. Pretty much full on the weekend, but I appreciate the experience. The foot was delicious. Me and my friends tasted each other dish, and there was not a dish that I didn’t like. The service was slightly slow, but I guess that was due to the high number of costumers in the restaurant. Only one thing didn’t work. My friend ordered a sandwich and he specifically said without onion, but unfortunately it arrived with it. So he had to remove it by himself. A little bit annoying, but overall that’s the only critique I can make… otherwise everything was super good 👍🏼

First and foremost, the staff here were incredibly welcoming and helpful—they even found seats for us despite a reservation coming up at 12pm, which we really appreciated. I went with the KHC breakfast, a hearty combo of bacon, sausages, and eggs that was genuinely tasty and satisfying. My wife tried the Pablo Picasso breakfast; while it was well-prepared, it just wasn’t quite to her taste. The atmosphere was also a highlight—pleasant, relaxed, and a great setting to enjoy a slow morning. Overall, a nice breakfast spot with kind service and a warm vibe.

Really nice Mini Club Sandwich and Pasta Bolognese. Let’s say, polite service. However, i did not finish food so i asked for takeaway, the response was, “ i will bring you a box”, a restaurant with bill 55 EUR for two beverages and two basic dishes. Where is the hospitality? Still, worth to visit as the taste of the food is nice, however, overpriced.

Really nice little brunch. It was a sunny day so seats were outside which was nice (needed a bit more shade though). Wide variety on the menu so we had avocado toast with eggs and spinach and a beef bagel which also came with an egg. Nice coffee and elderflower soda to cool down. We liked that we could reserve online via Google. Toilets inside the museum, just downstairs.

Absolutely lovely place for a vegan meal in Graz. They offer a lunch option and a la carte after 5pm. We had the cheese burger, schnitzel burger and tiramisu. Everything tasted great although the texture of the vegan schnitzel could be improved. Service was friendly and fast, the atmosphere is comfortable and homey. My favorite part was the tiramisu which was super rich, creamy and with a nice bitter coffee taste, even non-vegans would love it for sure. I will definitely go back when I visit Graz again!

A pure vegan restaurant, with two dining floors. Ground floor is a bit busy whereas the first floor has decent space with chair dinning as well as has low table dinning. First floor would be a good choice if you have children. Try their falafel plate which I think offer you a decent amount of delicious and healthy food. Overall, I would recommend a go if you really looking for vegan food.

I visited this restaurant on Saturday during lunch time and although there is a construction site next to it, this place was full. It seemed to be popular among locals. If you want to visit on weekend, I recommend to book a table. The wait was long as they seemed to be understaffed, but the staff was very nice and accommodating. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Years pass. Staff shift. Time flows. Swing Kitchen stays solid. I’ve known this place for a long time, long enough to see faces come and go behind the counter, long enough to notice the ones who stayed. And in all that time, not once — not even close to once — have I walked into Swing Kitchen and found it anything but spotless, friendly, and in full command of the storm. Whether it’s packed to the brim or quiet in the afternoon, the team moves like clockwork. Calm under pressure, fast without panic, always kind. The vibe is light, the music good, the tables clean — and the food? Still one of the best arguments for going vegan in this city. Respect to every single crew member past and present. You’ve held the line for years. And it shows. ⚫✅👍🏼
Simeon — Google review
I've been a loyal customer of Swing Kitchen since they opened in Graz, but after my experience this past weekend, I won’t be returning. On my first visit, I ordered a Swing Burger and the Loaded Guacamole Fries. The fries were okay, but the burger was disappointing. The BBQ sauce tasted completely different—definitely not in a good way. It felt like a downgrade from the original recipe I used to enjoy. Still hopeful, I gave it another shot and ordered the Honney Chicken Classic with Truffle Fries from the new menu. I picked it up in person to avoid any issues with delivery. Unfortunately, the chicken in the sandwich was still frozen!!!!! and the bun was cold. I had to throw it away. As for the Truffle Fries: I requested them without vegan cheese (since I don’t like the taste), but instead received fries topped with vegan cheddar instead of the advertised parmesan. There was no trace of truffle flavor whatsoever. Later I saw online that they were out of Truffle Fries—maybe they substituted with something else without informing me? Whatever it was, the result was a soggy, mushy mess of bland fries, white sauce, plasticy vegan cheese, and lettuce—straight to the trash. To top it off, I waited about 30 minutes for this disappointing takeaway order. Really unfortunate to see such a drop in quality from a place I once loved.

Laufke - Traditionswirtshaus since 1923 is a beloved local spot in Graz that unfortunately closed its doors after a century of operation due to insolvency and health issues. The restaurant was known for its charming ambiance with wood-panelled walls, an old wooden floor, and a peaceful garden. The establishment prided itself on serving Styrian and authentic dishes made with locally sourced ingredients.
Extremely good food for diner and the rooms remind the stylish last century ambiente - nice 🤗 For beer you can enjoy Reininghaus Pils or Zwickl as draft - could be more - but I like it. Overall a very good tip - €€€ but worth.

Incredible food. Every dish, main side or starter was incredible. I cannot recommend this place enough. To top it off they also serve incredible wine. It may be one of the best meals I’ve had in my entire life. 11/10
Julian K — Google review
It's a lovely restaurant. We understand that when you want to present only the finest, freshest ingredients sometimes you run out. Unfortunately 50% of the dishes we ordered were not available and the choices were limited so we had to break our own rule not to both have the same thing on the menu. The prices are high, which we expected. What we didn't expect was to have to order vegetables on top. Over 200 Euros for three main courses and a bottle of wine is going some. We have paid more, but I'm not sure the value justified the cost in this case.
Stephen E — Google review
Nice place, but the prices are very high. 4,50 for cutlery and a piece of bread plus some dips. Soup for over 7 euros. I appreciate good food and I appreciate regional food - but the Vogerl Salat has a fixed price and then you have to pay one euro for extra ingredients. The pasta with mushrooms is also ridiculously expensive seen as it's a very ordinary dish in comparison to the other meat options. It almost costs as much as the fish or pork. I personally will not go there again, but I understand the appeal. The service is nice, the atmosphere is okay. To me, however, the prices (especially those of veggie options) do not make sense.

The Green House is the old town coffee shop of the Ginko – vegetarian restaurant. In other words the Green House is a great coffee shop, a happening place for young people of this vibrant university town, Graz. This place is in one of the little passages in the old town of Graz. Here is also the patio located at. The apple pie and sour cherry-chocolate cake we had, as well as the Linzertorte, this very Austrian marmalade cake, were very delicious. The seating is comfy and the atmosphere is nice and comes with many vintage elements. There are even books to read (children’s book). The staff is nice and represents the spirit of this place. The prices are reasonable, given the location and the quality of this healthy vegetarian food at the Green House. From Graz with Love! Dr. Dr. Immanuel Fruhmann

Parks-Art is a vegan and vegetarian breakfast restaurant with unique dishes. The staff is super friendly, and the food tastes great. Highly recommend!
The Parks Art is a great spot for the vegan and veggie scene of Graz. Its center location next to Kunsthaus Graz, the so-called friendly alien, and the Old Town of Graz makes it an ideal spot to chill out, since it is easy to reach. The interior of the Parks Art is artsy and the seating is comfortable. It also features an old lecturing desk in one if its niches. The Parks Art with its many rooms is quite big in comparison to its sister, the Parks in the Zinzendorfgasse, Graz' bustling student's life promenade close to the campus of the main university, the Karl-Franzens-University. The Parks Art even features a nice and artsy inner court patio with some tables, where you can spend the summer days. The staff is friendly and willing to help and the Wi-Fi is free and I even have spotted some plugs for charging your devices. The sun is shining in the Parks Art and there is even a very nice and sunny patio in the pedestrian street for soaking up the sun. As for the desserts and coffee, both are delicious here at the Parks Art and they furthermore offer veggie and vegan dishes on their menu. My Apple Walnut Tart with its nice sweetness is definitely a dessert to recommend as well as my Cappuccino, which is labeled Fair Trade. From Graz with Love! Dr. Dr. Immanuel Fruhmann

Great place to have a healthy, balanced and satisfying meal. Allergy sufferers be careful with gluten free labeled dishes! Lunch-Review next, for Brunch-Review scroll down; conclusion in the end Lunch: Parks Art offers an a la carte menu as well as daily lunch-offers. At lunch, one can choose out of two options, one is vegan and most of the times gluten free as well, the other one is vegetarian. It comes with a side salad and a dessert. So far, I’ve always had a satisfying meal, portions are generous, food is served quickly and appealingly looking. Flavor is rich yet well-balanced, texture is a mix of soft and tender ingredients, so while eating and enjoying the meal it never gets dull or boring. Prices are justified, especially given the portion size and quality of the meal. Absolutely good value for money. Brunch: Parks Art also offers breakfast and brunch. On weekends they serve brunch from a buffet which includes various spreads, cold and warm dishes, muesli and yoghurts as well as bread (including a gluten free vegan option) and sweet treats. One can find meat, fish, vegetarian and vegan options. All ingredients are of highest quality and generously stocked. Drinks are not included in the price, which may seem to be high but given the quality of the food definitely justified and worth every penny! On a weekday one can choose from a breakfast menu, the options, similarly to the buffet, include meat-based, vegetarian and vegan options for either 1 person or platters to share. Gluten free bread is available upon request. I really enjoyed all meals so far. However, I do deduct one star due to handling with allergens. I have food intolerances, and as I was talking to the manager I got to know, that the buckwheat flour they use for their sweet treats may contain traces of gluten. To me, this means that actually one cannot label the dish as “gluten free” and I wish they would be more accurate about it. But I would like to point out, that the manager is very knowledgeable and aware towards food intolerances and is trying his best to accommodate customers following dietary requirements. In general, staff is helpful and dedicated, the facilities are always clean, and the interior is nicely decorated, giving the place a very welcoming atmosphere. Definitely a place to enjoy a healthy wholesome meal as well as long conversations over a nice cup of tea or coffee.

We had their all-you-can-eat Sunday brunch. Lots of lovely fresh food, with new food brought out as needed. It was warm enough for us to sit outside, which was really nice. Waitress was super friendly and spoke good English. Perfect Sunday experience.

Really great vegan food and perfect local craft beers. The owner is an enthusiast, he cycles with cargo bike to bring beers to festivals.. the place itself is lovely, cosy and warm atmosphere, city center hangout for food and drinks. Congrats for good work :)

The food was really nice and the people were very friendly and helpful. All of us had vegetarian food (bowl, sandwich, curry) and everyone liked the diversity and the taste. We were not really happy with the lemonade (elderflower and mint) as it was quite sweet and almost only spearmint-flavored. We recommend the food though! There are really nice vegetarian options!!!

Die Speis am Lendhafen is a charming restaurant located in Graz, offering a delightful dining experience. The establishment prides itself on sustainability, with a strong focus on using regional and seasonal ingredients sourced within a 50km radius of the city. This commitment to sustainability extends to their zero waste policy and an emphasis on vegetarian and vegan options. Guests can enjoy a variety of Austrian and international dishes, including vegan breakfasts, menus, and plant-based creations.
The concept is pretty simple as all the ingredients need to fulfill 2 out of 3 criteria (grow/process/refine within 50km). Nice service and waiters. Beer is cheaper than normally 🙌 Food quality and taste are awesome. They only serve lunch menus.

Super friendly staff. They let us sit and do school work, and gave us water, even though we didn’t order food. Their friendly server made an ice coffee even though they didn’t have it on their menu. They made our stay more memorable and pleasant. Thank you so much for your hospitality!

I’m not Vegetarian or Vegan, but man, if I ate at this place every day I would become at least vegetarian. The flavours were incredible!!! And plus they had two really lovely young lady’s who took the time to tell me a bit about the city. It’s places like these that make me want to return to Graz!

The two course lunch option is especially good, with each course delivering on its promises with great results. We just ordered the breakfast recommended by the lady at the next table! It’s just amazing!!!💝 so I dun actually know what’s the name of it🤣 but it’s like a fancy pizza for me~ The bread is chewy✨ all the ingredients are deliciously coming together!! We had a very good experience here✨

Made a reservation online, but they didn't see it and sent the chef home so we weren't able to eat there. Did get a recommendation for another place.

From the outside this looks like a market stall, but inside you will find extraordinary food! I had the ten course dinner (modest portion sizes, but each entirely delicious .. make sure you book in advance) and would happily go back for the same dinner again. Really super food, presented well and very memorable.
David M — Google review
I was pleasantly surprised to find such high-quality cuisine at the local market! Each dish was authentic and had some unique and interesting touches. All the food options are great, and I particularly enjoy Auslese as a drink. Overall, that is a must-go place!
Vladimir K — Google review
Tiny place right on the market in a fixed stall that's atmospherically decorated. It only seats a small number, so make sure you make a reservation. The two course lunch (two options per course) takes produce bought at the daily market as their point of departure and delivers on flavour in a big and convincing way. The food is simple, but also simply delicious, and you will not be left wanting. I was also served a deliciously dainty moscatel. Certainly worth your visit.

There's also a friendly atmosphere and vintage Bollywood music in the background, making it a great place to relax after exploring the city.

Looking for a place to try authentic food from Mumbai? Then this is the place. Quality over quantity is what I think of the menu offered by Mumbai Cuisine. All this combined with friendly environment and old Bollywood music in the background. When you are here, do try the "Vada Pav (potato schnitzel with bread)" and "Chai (tea)". I'll definitely go there again. Mahlzeit! 😊😊

The number of vegan options is not very high. The amount of food you get for the price is too low. More advanced vegan cuisine would be welcome. Vegan does not mean only healthy. I tried two times.

I came here to return my 2 plastic cups and get 2 euros back, because I bought 2 beers at the bar in Zinzengrinsen. I gave my plastic cups and said "2 Gläser". The barman had to correct me by saying "Nein, die sind Bechern". I think he thought he was my German teacher. He probably felt bad serving someone who was trying to learn and speak German with him. Poor closed-minded worker. I told him he is not my German teacher. He replied, "Are you looking for some fun? I don't have time now, but in 2 hours we can" I don't know what to say. I feel discriminated.

The place has a yummy all-you-can-eat Sunday brunch buffet. Albeit a bit expensive (€13.9, drinks extra), you get a bunch of sweet and savory options and all is organic. Very nice souvenir shop in the center of the historic town in Graz. Good choices, lots of different artisan products. Friendly and competent staff, very helpful. Mostly local products from small producers, farms, craftspeople. Expect prices to be fair and good value, but don't take it for a discount store. Cash and card payments.

Unfortunately, a very disappointing experience. My Rainbow bowl had such a small amount of food for the high price. A small amount of cabbage, raw carrot and ice salad. The bowl came with no tofu or sauce. When I asked regarding the tofu they later brought me completely unseasoned and essentially raw. The whole place lacked passion and any kind and I was really let down. A whole revamp and reassessment of the food, portions and menu is needed. Would love to see this place work as a life long vegan. Please put the time in to make this place delicious for vegans and to attract non vegans.

(Translated by Google) Lots of staff and everyone is overwhelmed beyond belief. Ordering takes forever and they pretty much got everything wrong. Forgot the wrong patties, fries and sauces, the portions of the fries are so different that you really notice it, one burger has a whole sheet of cheese and the other only half a sheet, in 2 SPICY! Burger 1 Jalapeno XD etc... Then they fixed it and managed to add the wrong sauces and fries! Check everything carefully if you order take away for things like Bezond you pay a lot of extra money, like with us, and then it's annoying if you don't get it. My opinion: It's better to go to Swing Kitchen or Cafe Erde because the food costs the same and is worlds better!

(Translated by Google) Where should I start? Top selection and at fair prices. Food is freshly prepared and tastes delicious. I can't understand the bad reviews due to the waiting time, probably McDonald's rubbish spoiled people. I sit down to eat because I think it's worth the time to wait and be served. The staff is very hard working and friendly, mistakes happen to everyone at work, the daily stress in a shopping center doesn't make it any easier. I like the ambience, the plants and rustic tables in the outdoor area invite you to linger. I'd be happy to come back at any time to try the entire menu 😋 (Original) Wo soll ich anfangen?

(Translated by Google) Staff was very friendly. We got a free drink because of the long waiting times. Apparently 2 chefs were sick, so I didn't think the long wait was bad at all. However, I have some criticism about the food. Fries: one portion was perfect and fresh in terms of quantity, second portion unfortunately had significantly less content and was already cold. Burger: Overall very tasty, although the cheese could have melted and unfortunately there was far too little sauce. Wrap: Unfortunately the taste of the sauce wasn't my thing at all, it just tasted like just sweet soy yogurt. In summary, unfortunately not outstanding, but with small changes it would be much better.
