Reviewing restaurant - my family and I went twice during our stay in Sopron and the food was unbelievable. Presentation, flavour and authenticity to Hungarian tradition while adding a modern flair. Service was also impeccable, as well as the selection of local and wider Hungarian wines. Portions will most definitely fill you up so even the pricing while higher than what you might find around, you get what you’re paying for in quality and quantity.

I spent two days in Sopron and stayed at this Panzio. It is centrally located, modern, clean and the staff is helpful and friendly. The restaurant is amazing! I’ve eaten serval times, and each meal exceeded my expectations. Did I mention they have their own bakery next door? You will not be disappointed if you book a nights stay or dine in their restaurant.

Food is great,really nice.No complains there.But overall experience killed hidden fee that they take for "service". When you get invoice you can see that they charged nearly 4 euros for "service",without saying anything before you get invoice.I dont like when restouran do this.If i want i can give tip by myself but charging it without knowing is bad.I avoid places like this.It was nice food but also last time visited.

Restaurant: a good place to eat something fine. The staff might be more delicate. If you go to restaurants in other countries too, you will see the difference. They are not rude at all, just not fine enough. The food is good, we chose good ones, only the foie gras was disappointing hard.

Decided to visit this place regarding the positive reviews. The premises are authentic, waiters were polite and spoke English. These are the main reasons for the second star, wine was okay as well. But the food unfortunately was quite a disappointment. Two main dishes were from duck, in both meals you could feel oversaturated grease and fat. Therefore, after the visit we had stomach problems. The prices according the food quality are too high as well. The fact that the tip is included in the bill is quite cheap gipsy move, in my opinion tips should be deserved and not taken by granted. However the waiters were okay, so they can have it.

Our family stayed at this hotel. The service was fabulous, very helpful and friendly. The location is perfect for exploring the city, a small local bakery just left out of the entry. Old town is a 5 minute walk. The restaurant had amazing food for all of us. Kids menu was great and adults loved the burger! My husband said it could be the best burger he has ever had. Highly recommend hotel and restaurant.

We visited Sopron for the weekend with our 9-month old daugther, and could not have wished for a better place to stay. Nice and comfortable rooms, friendly staff and good breakfast. We also had dinner twice in the restaurant, and really enjoyed our evenings there. We would definitely highly recommend!

The place is amazing! The atmosphere and decoration is 5*! You feel like you’re in a western town! Food was tasty and good amount.

Just superlatives for this place! From interior to the food they serve. Meat is literally like butter!!! Tenderloins to be precise. Combined with green pepper sauce, it was divine. I just only wish there is truffle sauce. Maybe a suggestion 😊 Next time we wanted to try burgers! And ofc we weren’t disappointed. Jalapeño cheese, man, it was the burger of my dreams!!! 🥰🥰🥰🥰 And sweet potato fries, perfect choice! Gin tonic so refreshing, one is definitely not enough. Service was great, young and very cool crew. English speakers, which was a big plus for me. Thank you, we will definitely come again.

There are saddles at the bar to sit on, which is pretty cool. A great atmosphere place, all together. Rustic looking, delicious food, and there's like 50 kinds of whiskeys to choose from. Friendly staff. We'll revisit for sure.

Very good place!!! Interesting western atmosphere. We tried the smash burger: so soft and delicious. And the mac and cheese burger is also very good. Very kind waitresses. Totally recommend, it deserves a try!

An easy 5 stars on everything! Fantastic ambience, friendly service, and maybe most importantly: amaaaazing steaks! What are you waiting for? Go visit and see for yourself! I have visited steakhouses in several countries, and believe me, this one is up there!

Excellent service good food quality, nice atmosphere.

Exactly how I would expect BBQ ribs to be, the meat falling right off the bone, with an intensely good spice rub greeting your tastebuds. The soups I've had here are equally as filling and tasty. I urge anyone who is in the area to give this place a go, even if just for the fun interior western theme.

I've been coming here for 20+ years, because the food is great and the service good. The waiting staff are actually friendly and smile (unlike over a certain nearby border!) and in 20 years I've never had a bad meal here, a credit to this place. I love coming here. However, on my latest visit I did have to remind the staff twice I'd ordered another drink (it never appeared after 15 minutes) plus I also had to remind the staff TWICE we wanted extra ketchup too (10+ minutes wait for 2 small portions of pre-packaged ketchup on a saucer is too long to wait). This is basics, and it wasn't that busy either. Would I come back here? Of course, this is one of the best restaurants in the area! But I hope the manager reads my review solely in the interests of constructive criticism. Nevertheless, an easy 4 stars!

My Hungarian friends took me with great enthusiasm to TERCIA restaurant today. They told me "this is it" ! We entered and all was bright and spacious . Attentive staff helped us to find the right table all good and clean . We received a nicely presented menu and I was spoilt with local choices ! I had a soup - a very generous serving and jolly fine . Then came the main event Schnitzel XXL ! Gosh truly XXL no false advertising here . Soooo fine ! Perfectly done (to mine taste) . Visited for lunch. Meal potions are huge - far too big! This means you waste a lot of an expensive meal. Over seasoned with salt as well. Expensive for this location. No views but pleasant surroundings. Won't go again - not recommended.

Great service, amazing food but such large portions of it

I expected better food. The appetizer was great, but the quality of the main dish was unfortunately not good. They were fried so much that they were hard to eat. But the service was great. Although the restaurant was very busy, the service was fast and very regular.

We are reviewing only the restaurant as we haven’t slept here. We arrived quite late for dinner and most of the customers have left already. We were still welcomed with a smile and big portions of good food arrived quickly. Coming from the UK we were impressed about the amount of fresh wild mushrooms we could find in the tagliatelle. We recommend but if you are not super hungry, consider ordering half portions.

This is an awesome place, either you go eat or sleep. I did both. The location, for me was great, didn't want to be in the city. Has good parking space. The place itself is awesome, when we arrived, the staff was nice and funny, friendly funny and this is important to me. The restaurant was packed, full and the waiters were flying. But with smile on their face and being friendly and polite. Room was big, quite and clean. Bed was very comfy. The food at the restaurant, amazing. Very good cooked, tasty and huge portion, for me huge. Prices are good too, didn't seem expensive for me, compared the people flow they'd have. Definitely recommend it to you all. While visiting Sopron in the evening, I was looking for a place to have dinner and after checking Google, I found this highly rated restaurant. And honestly — now I see why. The food was amazing. Huge selection, and everything I tried was really, really delicious. Service was good, the atmosphere was also very pleasant and even the drinks were on point. Easy 5 stars from me. I’ll definitely come back next time I’m in Sopron.

We (2 adult 1 kid) were there is September, they had an autumn specials menu, but also the regular menu was available. We ordered a gulas and a corn soup, both Were delicious, for the gulas, they even gave a pizza bread. While we were waiting for the food we recieved brown beer from the tap and some lemonades. The waiter was very kind, and brought coloring sheet for our daughter. After the soup, we received the main dishes, which was huge, so we couldn't eat it all. Service fee is included, after we payed, they even gave a lolly pop for our daughter (they asked first if they can give one to her)

Delicious food, relaxed atmosphere and fantastic service. It was my first visit and the English speaking waiter kindly informed me that service charge is included in the bill and so I added an extra 1,050 HUF as a tip for him because I appreciate such honesty.

Great atmosphere, delicious and plenty of food, waiters are pleasant. Ordered the mixed plate for 2 and we couldn’t finish. It could easily feed 3 persons. Cottage cheese pancake is a must try. Outdoor area is nice, trampoline for kids, but with the cover there is not much sun to enjoy the warmer weather. When visiting Sopron, it’s a must go.

Amazing food and service. The price is compatible with amount and quality. I went on a Sunday at 11:15am and several tables were reserved, so it gets busy later. Just check my pictures and see how amazing it is.

The place attracts visitors with its unusual combination of modern style with a Hungarian courtyard. Not far from the center, a few minutes walk from the Liszt Ferenc concert hall. There are places on the street. The audience is decently dressed. The dishes look very attractive. To be honest, the picture is more beautiful than the taste. Everything is very spicy! We must be attentive! Homemade lemonades are delicious! Pizza with capers and anchovies did not like. I am writing a review 10 days after my visit to the restaurant. Will I go again? Sure to!

A great place for a meal which we definitely recommend. Great service, wonderful location and excellent food. To sit outside and just enjoy the pretty view is amazing. We ate Hungarian food which was prepared very well.

Great place with a unique vibe. The underground cave sets the mood helped by the cool tables. Then following the theme, the food is also rich in taste with huge portions.

What a find. It is down in a cellar. Everything we had was delicious, huge, and fairly priced. The menu is Hungarian and German, but they have an English one on the barrell where you walk to your booths. You seat yourself. I can recommend the Schnitzel called giant pork chip froed, the roasted pork, and the chestnut and blieberry dessert. Great drinks prices, too, in a lively cellar.

Outstanding restaurant! The staff is extremely friendly and speaks a bit of German and English, so you will manage to be understood if you don't master the beautiful Hungarian language. The dishes are tasty and made with fresh ingredients, not to mention the size of the portions - huge! You'll want to try the beef gulash with homemade galuska (or Hungarian gnocchis) for maximum authenticity.

The food was really good, fresh, hot and tasty, we loved it. Unfortunately this is pretty much all the good things I can say about the place. Not sure on the customs, whether we need to wait to be seated or just go ahead and sit down, we choose to stay at the entrance. 3 waiters kept walking past us and the person behind the bar kept looking, none of them asked even once what we wanted. So just went ahead and sat down. We waited 20 minutes for drinks and they arrived after the food was brought out. It was quite a hot day, the place has no air con, so I finished the drink quickly. Not a single time I was asked if I wanted another one. The waiters were ok, but not overly friendly, not a smile, nothing. I get it, it is a warm Sunday afternoon, and they probably do not want to be there but come on… Because the food was great I would go again, that saved the experience!

The most authentic local food in Sopron. I got to try the Pig Brain Toasts, a very typical food for what my local friend mentioned, and everything from the seasoning to the texture to the fantastic flavor was very enjoyable, really recommended. I closed with a fish soup, a less adventurous meal, also delightful. The entrance is somewhat unconspicuous when the Biergarten is not in use, however inside the restaurant is also a beautiful environment for a wonderful meal.

- 1 hour waited for 1 Cheesburger (noone appologized!) + meat was unsalted and hard - chicken meet was burned and dry - fried cheese - one of three pieces was almost cheeseless

The prices in the restaurant are very fair. The beer is good and tasty also the goulash soup can be recommended. Furthermore the atmosphere in the restaurant is quiet nice beer and tasty gulash. Also the atmosphere in the restaurant is quiet nice. The service is friendly and the orders are served quickly. The restaurant is in the middle of the city center.

Prices relatively low but food quality is absolutely unsatisfactory... Grille meat wasn't really grilled but cooked way befor and then was just warmed up which made it wery well dry... be aware salsa sauce is not made at che kitchen but probably bought in the closest grosery store...

They advertise "daily offer" together with "daily menu" price next to entrance. Disgusting trick! I have asked waiter if i can order the what is on "daily offer" board. Finallay for 3x the price as daily menu! Not what i asked, not what i wanted.

A very bad place for eating. The music is to loud and after x times request by staff NO change. The staff is very friendly but this is no all.Nevertheless a reservation in time before is the waiting to long. This is sorry no recommended for dinner at high noon. Very sorry for the Management

Good was fine, medaillons werent pork sirloin but other parte,service quite dry,should apply a birthday discount but they found an excuse, tourist trap, therefore to avoid

Nice breakfast and descend coffee. Espresso could be a little shorter with more Bodies. Waiters are friendly and you can pay with credit card.

The staff is very friendly, the location is one of the most beautiful I have visited, the coffee and pancakes were very good and prepared with care and arranged, the prices are for any pocket, we will come back in the future to try the food, which I am sure is as good as expected! Recommended for those who want a friendly and quiet atmosphere with quality dishes!

Apart from the fact that I couldn’t figure out, how to eat my cheeseburger because it was so big that it wouln’t fit in my hands, it was a 5/5 experience. The waitress was nice, she even let us change our order. The decoration/design was nice too. The bottom of the burger bunn was a little bit too thin, and the upper part too thick, but it was delicious. :)

Beautiful Coffee house with a large ice cream selection and a few tasty breakfast and pastry options. Also a large quality tea selection, however sadly the tea I ordered was not the one I got, not even upon asking for the right tea they again brought a different one. If it were not for the very beautiful interior, this place would surely get three stars or less..

Average ice cream. The service does not seem to have time, so we had queue up and pick up our ice cream at the counter ourselves, which was the much faster option

Maybe this is the oldest coffeplace in the city (as I’ve heard) but it has lost all its glory. Bad coffee choices. Very long waiting time. Don’t come here.

Great place high quality and friendly staff. They also have guest WiFi which is great in the area. Only little thing: the ice-cream selection is only labeled in Hungarian, which makes it a lengthy process to find the right one

Very nice building and lovely cakes but the whole experience was spoiled by the awful club/dance music. We came all the way from Scotland and this looked like a traditional Hungarian patisserie. We would have expected traditional/classical Hungarian music or at the very least something relaxing.

Well, prices are not all that affordable but everything's very good here! Staff is very kind and they can speak different languages, such as English, German and even Italian, an aspect that I would have never imagined!

We had a very nice experience, with extremely friendly staff, clean and very spacious delux-room with a huge balcony. Extra plys, there is a Shopping Mal and a Casino just opposite the Hotel. We havent tried the Restaurant.

Food bad, service bad.. Waiter took tip for himslef without giving the change back. 🤣 I've never seen that in my life. And that was the highlight of the day.. This is maybe the worst place i've been in Hungary. Only thing that I liked here was the ambient and how the place looks.

The food is all right but nothing special. They have a cake corner which is not common in a restaurant. But: This was our second time there and we were with a pram. They did not bother to help my husband who had to carry it down the stairs by himself. Let alone yesterday it was almost empty!

We have pre-booked an accommodation over the phone. The hotel reached out to us after a week that they need to raise the price by almost 60% of the original price. The reason was that they were not calculating with a festival during this period. Really unprofessional management.

We were a group of seven and the place looked quite busy, but we got an table as the waiter rearranged some tables for us! Very nice! The pizza was good although they were not very hot. As not all of as could finish their pizza, the waiter offered to pack the pizza which we thought was very nice, when we paid we realized is was €0,50 or so for each pizza box - which is fine but it would have been nice to tell us in advance. Prices are ok and the food is good.

This is my favorite restaurant in Sopron and I eat here nearly every day when I am town. The food is delicious and the service is top notch! I always look forward to seeing my two favorites, Balazs and Lorenz! They are truly kind, wonderful people and I am always happy to see them. Thank you both for everything! See you again soon! Pizza was really good, Aperol also really good Communication little hard as no one in Hungarian spoke English. Menu wasn't in English. Other then that the atmosphere was good and it looked beautiful there. 🤩

The food was fast food served in a box, likely bought in a supermarket and fried there. The chicken nuggets have never in their lives seen real meat but the bread crust was extremely thick in exchange. The place itself has only 3 seats inside in a very unwelcoming atmoshpere. The food was tasteless, prices were high especially considering the "quality". Again, in exchange at least the portion is huge so there was more to throw away in the end. The environmentally unfriendly serving also withdraws a star from them.

We had a late lunch at Patrick's pizzeria and lounge yesterday. Unfortunately, they served generally cheap, bad-quality food. The rice was inedible, and the fried cheese tasted like fried breadcrumbs with minimal cheese in it. Their cheddar sauce was the highlight of the meal. After the lunch, I had a stomach ache for a couple of hours, which was partly on me trying to eat the whole portion I got and partly on the quality of food. I would recommend this place to people who would like to meet the quality of McDonald's.

Food was good but not exceptional. Parking is a nightmare. It's a small place. Better have a reservation.

One of the worst restaurants we’ve ever been at! We’ve ordered the soup with liver dumplings for our son, the dumplings we got were absolutely frozen inside, while cutting them. We have asked for a new soup with these dumplings and why we got? The same soup and same dumplings. The main dish wasn’t bad, we got full plates, but honestly, I wouldn’t want to order it again. The style the waiter brought it to us and how did he behave (came first to the absolutely empty restaurant, ordered first and didn’t get it first), didn’t know a word in English, his German was maybe worse than mine…I was actually waiting more from restaurant with 4,5*.

This is a rustic sort of restaurant that seems not to have changed much since the eighties, which is a good thing. Best fried whole pisztráng (trout) I've ever had.

I ordered steamed venison leg (párolt őzcomb) one of the most appetizing dishes on the menu. However, I was served dry and tough meat. Probably reheated in the microwave. I had to leave the hardest parts because the knife couldn't cut them. I complained to the waiter but they did not compensate me in any way. It is shameful to treat tourists like this.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Western Hungary. It is located in one of the most beautiful cities in Hungary in the historic center. The food is delicious, creative yet maintaining traditional flavors and Hungarian motifs. The restaurant is spacious, modern, clean and the service is fantastic. English and German arent a problem. They are very child friendly, accommodating even my finicky child. I highly recommend this restaurant if you are looking for a good place to eat in Sopron.

This place is a scam, we ordered looking over the reviews and nothing was at the level. The portions were super small, the quality was not at the top and the price is not fair. In my goulash soup there was almost no meat. Picture attached. At least the service was nice, the guy serving was nice and super available. Also the dessert was disappointing us.

I went there with my girlfriend for dinner, on a casual thursday evening. Waitress told us to go upstairs and she will send her collague shortly. After like 15 mins no one came (we tought maybe she forget to tell her collague to come) so my girlfrend went downstairs to ask for the menu. After she was given the menu, she came upstairs, we were sitting there for another 15 mins, no one came to pick up the order or even ask for drinks, so we left. Such a pity cause the place felt nice. P.s. It was not a busy evening...

It was relatively affordable for two nights ate one of the tastiest Salami pizza. They could do better on Breakfast and having more people who can speak English or German. That was my challenge but it finally worked out.

Nice decor, reasonably good service but just about mediocre food. They served soggy french fries and a “cottage cheese dumpling” that was made of semolina with only a hint of cottage cheese. All that at an over-average price range. Nothing like it used to be. This was our last time here.

The bar staff failed to notice that I was standing right in front of them for about 15 minutes so I left. The following morning at breakfast, I asked where I can find the cutlery and the server practically shouted at me stating that he would sort it out. The hotel was nice the location perfect but the bar and weight staff were certainly not up to par.

We drive from Austria often to Sopron for medical reasons and we always look for the best options in terms of hotels in the center of the town with a parking place and specially with a place for the little one to play and have a bit of fun or a pool.This place provides all of that .Reading the other reviews we understood this place is child friendly and we decided to try.Reception was friendly ,maybe a bit more infos about the hotels policy on charging 20 € for new towels in the room would be appreciated,but overall not a big thing.Breakfast was more than enough,dinner was ok too with plenty of food,service from Zsolt was amazing,his collegue was nice too( maybe a bit of smiling wont hurt from time to time),the fact that outside is free parking is a good one too.Kids place was awesome for our boy, the room was clean,even though when you pay premium price for a room one expects a bit more but no problem at all.We had an accident in the room and we required new bedsheets and new towels on which we were charged extra 20€,but to me is still unclear if one stays in the hotel 2 days why the extra charge for setting the beds and changing the towels but probably this is the way it goes.In 4 months we might need to sleep there again so till next time .Thank you .

Hotel Sopron is excellently located on the border with Austria, about a 15-minute drive from Family Park. Staff was super friendly, variety at the breakfast and dinner buffet was very good. Tasted delicious and definitely had something for anyone. Hotel public areas seem newly renovated and well kept. Some areas of the hotel still need updating e.g. the elevators and bathrooms in the rooms, but this is definitely very good value for the money.

Staff are nice specially the main service man in the restaurant during the dinner time. Location is uphill and quiet. Have swimming suit ready if you’re pool type of passenger. We were there when the temperature was reaching 31c during the day so this open pool was a must! I need to mention that pool was very clean and not crowded at all. Restaurant high quality food but not a lot of options. Definitely recommended hotel to stay in this city

Although we were with a smaller group, service was quick and good. Atmosphere is excellent, really warm and cosy place. Foods are well designed, but could have been a little bit tastier. Soup was amazingly good, main dish was good, but mine was little bit cold. Prices are slightly higher than the average. Free Wifi, card is accepted.

This is a GREAT restaurant but good service is only available to locals??? We waited 1 and a half hours while two tables of locals (which arrived AFTER us) were eating already. When I wanted to speak to the waiter he basically dismissed me and "threw" the food at us 10 minutes later!

We choose this restaurant in Sopran based on it’s review. The place is nice and the food is good but the service was very very slow. We went there during weekdays and there were a lot of empty tables on the terrace and still it took like 30 minutes for the food to arrive.

There were other dishes, drinks, etc. We're were too stuffed to get dessert.

I haven't had anything was made wrong, the menu is extremely detailed and you can chose from a huge variety of dishes (mostly from the Hungarian kitchen). This restaurant is not just about the food. The waiters kindness and theirs welcoming approach (especially David), quickness, punctual orders, perfect communication with the kitchen, the chefs enthusiasm to find the best recipe to make your food memorable, not to mention that you will eat in the same place where the Austro-Hungarian Empress Marie Theresa had a lunch before (1740-80). All in all, world class hospitality, Michlen star quality tastes with a dose that can kill a cattle for a price of a Manchester - Liverpool northern railway ticket (~£10) including a glass of wine to be fair.
