Expensive, no questions about that. We're talking about USD 100 per person, including a wine bottle. That said, possibly the best restaurant my partner and I have ever been to. Even when comparing to Michelin-starred restaurants in South America or Europe, Kalma comes out on top. The attention to detail, the creativity in every dish, and the flawless execution make it an unforgettable experience. If you’re in Ushuaia and want a meal that is truly world-class, this is the place.

Excellent restaurant, best for celebrations or to have a surprising and unique culinary experience whilst travelling. The food is of Michelin star quality and the attention to detail given in the food and service is fabulous. The folks who attended us were very kind. The food is unique, a lot of fusion options with local produces. On top of what we ordered, we were given bread and final dessert for tasting( sorry don't know any names). We tried the lamb, beef and risotto for main course, salmon appetizer, and thee desserts. The cashew cream dessert, the white chocolate and the seaweed based one were all great.

We stopped here on a cruise and we were not disappointed! The food was incredible. They started us off with this welcome soup, which I wanted to keep eating more of. Then we had risotto and I added the fish to it and it melted like butter. The steak was the best steak that we’ve had in Argentina so far. If you’re visiting Ushuaia you have to visit this place! You won’t be disappointed

Really liked this place. We were fortunate to walk in and meet the chef before being seated. He told us a little about his vision for the food and about the restaurant. Our experience was good and I would say that this is fine dining compared to the restaurants we tried closer to the strip. Service was great and the experience was top notch. My main meal was the fish soup that was apparently caught by the chef that morning, and my spouse had the lamb. Both were delicious! If we had more time, we would have tried the set menus but that will have to wait until our next visit

This is one of the best restaurants we have been to in the Southern part of South America! If you are a foodie it is a must visit. The chef is using local ingredients and making dishes you would not expect in remote Ushuaia. It is pricey but well worth the experience!

Dining at Kalma was an exceptional experience. The food was of the highest quality — beautifully presented, perfectly balanced, and full of refined flavors. We had fish, which was prepared to absolute perfection, using only local ingredients and fantastic combinations of spices unique to the Patagonian region. The atmosphere was elegant yet comfortable, and the staff were exceptionally courteous, professional, and attentive. And the desserts — simply out of this world. Every detail, from the service to the culinary presentation, reflected true excellence. A truly outstanding restaurant that deserves the highest praise.

Really excellent fish dishes. Service and the chef himself were very friendly but sometimes struggled to explain every dish. Also, the paper menu did not correspond to the actual menu being served (e.g., there was no king crab). Somewhat bland ice cream in the desert was a small letdown. Still, all in all well worth the visit.

Changed our entire impression of Argentinian food, absolute amazing food that is cooked and prepared with love and passion. We tried Don Julio and El Preferido in BA but they have nothing on this. Recommend the Hake Fish and Lamb Ravioli, or anything on the menu for the matter.

Still sitting here and have a Pisco! Absolutely the best dinner we had during our stay in Ushuaia! The Risotto with Crab and the beef was absolutely on taste. The derive team is stunning and very helpful! We will come again before finally leaving for home! 👍👍👍👍👍

Wow! This place is fantastic! We have been staying in town for several days and gone to the best rated restaurants but this is the best - by far! The staff were incredible, especially the woman who greeted and served us, she was very friendly and genuine. The large sideroom is so cozy with wood and large windows. There was a wonderful singer and guitar player which only added to the evening. Everything we ordered was truly delicious but the highlights were definitely the black hake(fish) which we had two different ways, the pumpkin sage and hazelnut risotto and the awesome crab ceviche. To top it off, the chocolate volcano and the berry crumble were excellent. Everything about this restaurant was phenomenal and we would recommend it to anyone.

The best restaurant I have visited on this, my second trip to South America. The team are very friendly, the wine and gin excellent and the food sublime. I went twice in the week I stayed in Ushuaia and have recommended it to others I have met.

Food: I had the trout fish ravioli and it was sooooo good and I wasn't even a ravioli person. The trout filling was delicious and fresh, the the cream sauce with leak and herb was seasoned perfectly. The shrimp was slightly overcooked than what I'd have preferred but I'm also very picky about shrimp 😅 The mixed bean appetizer they served with bread was also surprisingly tasty. Service: The waiter was very friendly and patient. Atmosphere: I went for an early dinner at 7pm so it was probably quieter, and the atmosphere was very cozy and lovely. I also liked that it's not located on the main street although it's not too far away. I'm actually planning to return in the next few days and try more dishes!

Only restraunt in Ushuaia we returned to. Great cooking and inventive menu. Deserts were good and everything had great service. Tried risotto, seafood, ravioli and meat dishes and everything was good.

Bad food and bad service. They gave us a well done steak when I ordered for a medium. You can see there is no blood in the middle at all. They said I ate it so they cannot refund or change. But it is impossible to tell whether it is medium or not until you cut the middle and take a few bites. You can tell from the picture that I only ate 3 bites. We also ordered the king crab meat and it doesn't taste fresh at all.

Very cosy and tasty! Open all day and a really nice place with older antique furniture and decoration thank you for having us. We come back again!

Discovered this place via a foodie travel blog, and food thing, because without explicitly knowing where we were going we likely wouldn't have found it. The ambiance is nice, the food was delightful.

We stopped for some early evening drinks before dinner. We had friends with us on their first visit to Argentina. This was their first experience in a restaurant/bar. Sadly, it was not a good experience. First, my wife ordered a gin tonic with orange. They brought one with lemon. Okay, they changed it, for another where the tonic was flat. Then I ordered two rubia cervezas, perhaps not their fault, but I didn’t like the flavor. We thought about having dinner there, but if they can’t get simple drinks right, I didn’t want to trust them with my food. I rarely give such poor marks to an establishment, but I was embarrassed for my friends. Maybe they will be better for you, most others give them good marks.

The prices are misleading! 1. They add 10% tax on top of all prices! 2. Table service costs 1000 ARP 3. They brought us wrong beer (which was by coincidence also the most expensive one) The food was okay, but the scammy pricing spoils the experience.

Really nice atmosphere ! Santiago was a big help in ordering in spanish for a non spanish-speaking person. Really delicious salmon ! Not overly impressed with our experience here. We were quite hungry and couldn’t wait until most restaurants open around 7PM, so it was nice to have an option before then. Beer was good. Food was mediocre, the lamb ravioli was served in a soup of tomato sauce, and calamari was okay. My partner had a lamb dish and said it was okay as well. Service was not great, no offering of water, didn’t notice when glasses or plates were empty. Not horrible but rather disappointing meal for a first one in town.

Went early at 7+ and had a seat easily. Became crowded shortly after. The menu on the board are better items than the ones on the menu. Ordered the scallop casserole which was very good which had potatoes as the base. Had to ask for bread from the server who totally missed me out. The decor is made up of many old items from the past. Tips only in cash which the server will remind u.

The best and most authentic Patagonian restaurant in South. Perfect food, attention and ambience. Their food selection is incredible, so many authentic dishis to choose from. Highly recommended. I will definitely come back again. A true taste of Ushuaia 🇦🇷

The food was really good and the service was even better. The waitress that served us spoke english and portuguese perfectly, something I haven’t seen in this trip to patagonia. She was extremely kind and helpful. The building is also beautiful ❤️ we jad the risotto al mar and the tagliatelle al mar and both dishes were teally good

I liked this place, it's very original because of the interior but the food wasn't that tasty. My friend had lamb ravioli and I had steak of pork with sweet potatoes, which were only like 3 pieces. I would expect a bit more. Moreover I think it's worth visiting.

Great place in terms of appearance. Almost looks like a museum. We only had 2 coffees and 2 cakes. The coffees were fine. The cakes were ok if not a bit dry. The layer cake with dulce de leche was actually better the next day. Huge portions. Definitely worth it for the place and the atmosphere.

Built in 1906, probably one of the oldest general store in Ushuaia. Had a wonderful seafood risotto and the specialty coffee Ramos Generales. Should have split the risotto to leave room for dessert. The waitress Ayelen was excellent!

We spent a lot of hours here for both breakfast and lunch. The atmosphere is delightful, the interior interesting and the service excellent. The tarts we had for breakfast were top of the line and beautifully made. Lunch was hearty, well-portioned and perfect for the cold weather. The scallop casserole deserves a special mention - so smooth and soft and fragrant, maybe the best scallops we've ever had. They offer a wonderful and wide selection of wines. This place is a jewel of Ushuaia and not to be missed! A true haven.

Very popular place during dinner time with what looks like a line often. The food was good, got the lamb and it was tender for most of it and quite good with good portions of food. Left feeling quite full afterwards. Would recommend lunch where it can be busy but no real wait time.

Loved this place so much that we visited it twice in a day! and probably will come back twice the next few days. We ordered their cordero, in different plates, and it was delicious in the different ways. The service is great and prices are very reasonable, but If you asked me, their pricing it’s a steal! Tip: come late for lunch or dinner (13:00 to 14:00) or after 21:30 til 23:00 and the lines will be shorter, if any. At least during their winter.

During my stay in Ushuaia, I have visited this particular restaurant three times and I have really enjoyed the food and service! The Lentil Stew and the Lamb in Orange/ Honey sauce is amazing! The staff are super friendly and attentive too. However, I was fortunate to walk in midday and in the evening waiting times can range from 40-50 minutes but worth the wait! Highly recommend and my thanks to the staff and chefs of this wonderful restaurant! 😊

In the evenings this place has a super long line to get in. For lunch on a Sunday I only had to wait an hour. Now I know why- amazing food and ambiance, decent prices and great service.

Everything was perfect, just one thing, you have to be ready to wait outdoor a long time before to have a table. We was wainting for more than one hours and we was there at the opening It’s a constant little hubbub inside but that’s also what makes the place lively. It didn't bother us, it's not super strong either, but if you hate that, this might not be the best restaurant for you. Also, the lamb and the wine was super nice !

We sat at the bar and ordered a croissant, fries to share, a margarita and a caiparinha. The bartender took 10 minutes to make the 2 drinks. He’d start, then start chatting or do something else then come back and continue. In the end, he made my caiparinha with lemons instead of lime and it was shaken. I’m so confused. It doesn’t even taste right. The croissant was stale - I suspect it has been sitting there all day or days. The fries arrived 20 minutes after we ordered it. It is 6pm on a Thursday and the bar is empty. I would not recommend this bar at all.

First meal very good and well presented chicken quesadillas. The woman at the next table had French toast it too was presented well and looked yummy. So I came back the next day for breakfast. Yep it was as good as it looked.

Great service, good atmosphere, food tastes good but somewhat plain. I ordered their speciality Tante Sara schnitzel and this was one of the largest single servings I ever eat. My partner ordered continental breakfast and was disappointed with taste and size of the portion.

Looking for brunch or a quick bite with some coffee? This would be a good place to go. This coffee shop's location is great. It's located on the main tourist street and easily accessible. There isn't anything special about this place, but I'd say the price is reasonable and the food wouldn't disppoint you. I'd recommend this place as a brunch or a place to grab a quick bite before starting your tour day! Tips: Downstairs may get pretty busy. If you enjoy a quiet tea time, I'd consider finding a table in the second floor.

Stopped by for a quick lunch and it was nice. Unfortunately I wasn't feeling too well so I actually didn't eat much of my food, but I ordered a lemonade and the burrito, both of which were solid. The lemonade is insanely pulpy, like it has more pulp than anything I've ever had in my life, but I liked it. Just a warning for those who aren't a fan of pulp. The burrito was good, but again I didn't eat much of it. The bread basket was also good.

We had lunch at El Turco, and overall, it was a decent experience. The atmosphere was fine, and the service was satisfactory. The food was just okay, but the prices were very reasonable, making it a good option if you’re looking for a budget-friendly meal. It’s a solid choice if you want something simple and affordable.

To visit the restaurant is an unique experience. It was opened in 1989, management style and interior still look like 30 years ago, in a best possible way. Waiters are dedicated and make a pleasant small talk. Wide choice of salads and meet dishes, vegetarians friendly. Restaurant has great atmosphere.

Excellent family themed restaurant. Prices are very reasonable and the portions large. Many locals eat here and that is a good sign. My limited Spanish did not hinder me receiving great srevice and having an enjoyable meal.

We went in for drinks but decided to have a bite as well. The prices are very steep. During happy hour a cocktail costs 15k+. The food also isn’t cheap. But we figured, if it’s good it’s worth the price. Unfortunately, the price was not justified. My pasta was overcooked and my partners Schnitzel was Lamb and not very good either.

Nice atmosphere but prices are very high and when compared to the mediocre food, it doesn’t make much sense. The meal my husband ordered was on promotion but the bill came out as full price. When my husband asked the waiter about this, the first man was very kind about it but the second man that came out was petulant and cranky about it. I do not recommend!

Awful. Do not go there unless you want to be mistreated and pay loads of money for horrible food. Don’t fall for the good exchange rate sign at the door, it is still one of the most expensive places in Ushuaia.

Food is ok. I went in as a tourist and love history but the king crab dish is served cold and no where on the English menu did it mentioned that. In Argentina, they don't give you tap water... everything is bottled or what not so I wasn't surprised of paying for my water. They gave you nice bread and side dishes as most ethnic places do. I tried my best to figure out how to eat it and if one is a dipping sauce or what not. Check out this restaurant once for the decor and the notes from people around the world once and you seriously don't need to come back. It made me feel uncomfortable as a tourist when they mentioned tip knowing I am not a local. They are trying to bank off tourist from America of which tipping is the norm.

I ordered a medium cooked steak with fries. But they brought me extremely rare not meat %75 percentage tendonms, you can't eat that. All fries are almost overcooked, fries must be golden color not brown or black. I didn't continue my plate and asked for the cheque. I paid 5500 for all the things together with Sprite. This is very expensive, it may be expensive but they must make me like WORTH IT. After I paid, I complaint and showed the waitress the breathing meat and fries. She agrees me and took the money. This bar is NOT IDEAL. Please go and eat in another place.

We had dinner here with a group of 9 people. 4 of us ordered a ribeye steak. 2 of which were bone in, I ordered mine rare and the other gentleman ordered his medium. When the servers brought out the steaks, they gave myself and the other gentleman that ordered the bone in ribeyes, the bone out ribeyes. We brought it to their attention and they switched them out, but never stated which ribeye was the rare one. Needless to say, I received the medium cooked steak. I am not a person that sends back food, but it was very unpleasant and unenjoyable to eat. They also didn’t come around to ask how everything was/correct. Due to these circumstances that is why i am rating it low.

Must go there. Tasty and on point food. Absolutely worth the money spend. English speaking and very friendly service was a nice extra.

Excellent service ,great food. Take a menu with matching wines. You get to know the regions and grapes. The sommelier will tell you all about it. Very recommended. Fantastic view over the city and mountains.

food for 3, waiting for waiters is long. took a set of seafood - the fish was burnt, but the crab sausage is original. this is how a 5-star hotel restaurant serves dessert in a set.

We were welcomed warmly, although we made no reservation and the place was full. We tried the pairing menu, and enjoyed the somalier's wine choices (local) and explanation. The food was extraordinarily good. Very recommended for foodies!!!

Atmosphere was very good. The service was not good. Had to ask for service repeatedly even while sitting at the bar. The food was disgusting. I only ordered the papa fritas with cheese. Couldn’t eat it. Even the fries were soggy. I could tell the fries were cold and they just added this gross cheese crap on top and shipped it out of the kitchen to me. Price for it was outrageous. My pictures of the meal are what was provided and what I couldn’t eat because I would have gotten sick if I had more.

Happy hour on beers was a great way to end the day. Staff was friendly, but it was slightly difficult to get their attention to order another beer. Didn't have any food, but what was coming out around us looked good. Certainly would recommend, and honestly one of the more lively and vibrant places we visited during our stay in Ushuaia

Food was gross and expensive, drinks expensive and didn’t have great options (plus no Guinness), service bad, no heaters on out in the smoking area in the middle of winter, toilet was minging. Good tunes spinning on the night (Saturday) but it’s for sure not a genuine Irish bar, at all at all! ❌☘️

Nice small Irish pub. Seems to be the to go place for foreigners. Prices are good, not so expensive place. Good selection of beers and snack. Only bad thing I found was the heater outside. To warm in the summer.

Food was decent, only got an empanada and mansillas. Atmosphere is nice and there is free wifi since their menu is mostly online. Service is good overall, the waitress could tell I only spoke a little bit of Spanish before switching over. I did accidently ask for a bottle of water thinking they would give me a glass which actually cost more than an empanada.

I probably had the BEST beef Milanese EVER. It was incredible, the portions are huge so either share or be conservative when ordering 🤣 I ordered the Napolitana Milanese with a side of roasted veggies (which were delicious) and it was too much. My partner had the burger and he devoured it !! We will aim to come back before we leave :)

I had a great dinner experience at El Mercado! The atmosphere was lively and inviting, making it a perfect spot for an enjoyable evening. The menu offered a good variety of foods, from pizzas and burgers to more elaborate dishes like fish and osobuco. Everything we tried was delicious, and the range of options ensures there’s something for every taste. Overall, El Mercado provides both quality food and a fantastic dining environment.

I was suggested to go to this place based on how not good was so many Restaurants in Ushuaia were. This place wasn’t bad but not that good either. I got I believe a Milanese the first time which was good but the blue cheese on top made it not that good. I tried their empanadas too which I didn’t like.

Trendy and lively eatery with a bakery and cafe. Lots of drink options like wine and beer. Many local food options and great value for the price. Food is fresh and tasty. Great experience overall and great views too.

The service could be a little better and RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED (reservations can be made through WhatsApp). It's worth noting that it is a bit pricey so check the menu online. The atmosphere is really nice but unfortunately the food was awful. The meat (matambre) and especially the chicken (Milanesa) was incredibly dry. Definitely the worst food I have had in the past year here in Argentina. Service was ok, not rude nor kind.

You get to choose 2 flavours on a single pie and it can cut up to 8 slices and enough for 2 people to share. The pizza that served here is of thick crust type pizza and I personally think they could use a little more tomato sauce for the base as the taste was a little flat but none the less its still a good pie. The server working that evening was very warm and speaks English. We came right after opening hours and the place quickly fills up soon after. Since its not a big dining room, I suggest that you visit early.

Apparently this is the place to get pizza in Ushuaia. We tried a half/half pizza and 3 empanadas. The empanadas were tasty and well made. The pizza was good but personally I prefer more crispy thin crust. To be fair, most of the pizza we’ve had in Argentina was pretty similar to this. There were generous amounts of toppings and we enjoyed our meal. The server was terrific and friendly. The place was empty when we arrived at 8 pm. Within a few minutes, it was packed. Go early or go takeout. Recommended.

The local is very cosy, even though not very spacious. The food is good and the price is very decent and the location is also good. They offer pizzas, empanadas and sandwiches mostly. We ordered a pizza during our visit and paid 3300 pesos and it was enough for two people and there were even leftovers for dinner (two people who eat a lot). Staff is also friendly, so the visit is recommended :)

True Argentine experience! Unlike many places in Ushuaia, this restaurant doesn't feel touristy. It's busy with locals, there's music, football on TV and just this warm atmosphere. I ordered a vacio sandwich with fries, and it was HUGE and delicious. Probably the best meal I've had in Argentina so far. Thanks, Dieguito!

Such a nice restaurant, with a lot of football shirts and pictures. The waiter was so friendly, definitely the nicest ones we met. One reason i’m not giving a five stars is because I asked them not to put a lot of cheese in the pizza but they did anyways.

Couldn’t be any better! We got to experience everything- the locals go to eat there, so it’s very authentic, the owner is called Diego and loooves football (very obvious), the prices are good, portions are large, beer is cold. What else do you need? And as a chef’s kiss, by the end of our evening, two musicians arrived and their performance was truly memorable.

I think it was one of the best food experiences I had while staying in Ushuaia, very Argentine and cozy! Delicious food (we ordered the Dieguito Pizza), great beer and idk it just felt “local”, and regular prices (considering that everything in Ushuaia is pretty pricey…) i liked it very much :) Don’t overthink it, just go :) hahaha (go early if you want to get a table)

It’s a solid 3.5 star. Food quality is ok. If you are American it won’t remind you of a good burger but better than avg for South America. Really good selection of beers so I rounded up to 4.
