Another fine restaurant in this area. We had saganaki cheese, dolmadakis and mixed grill plate. All the food was delicious. Only thing I can complain a little bit about was that the pork pieced on the skewer were a bit dry while chicken on the same skewer was still more or less juicy. I can also recommend the Monakrivo red wine - a bit smoother that syrah by itself. For 25€ in a restaurant this is absolutely a bargain. For the finish they brought a kind of biscuit cake with cacao (and raki of course) which brings me back to childhood.

One of the best spots for dinner. We went to Astria and this beat it by far. Very nice staff, cozy and cute. Great view and perfect food. Definitely worth the dinner stop and easy to walk from the main street up the hill.

1st meal in Crete, definitely not the last from this family-run taverna. We had the traditional plate and the lamb kleftiko, wanted to add fish but staff was very upfront that it would be too much (which I appreciate they seem genuinely not in it for the money). Service was good, not a long wait and even served dessert on the house. Everything was delicious!

The must visit ! Family restaurant, with amazing food and hospitality, husband and wife looking after customers, mum is cooking, true greek experience. We have been spoiled. Traditional plate has it all, and is huge! 7 meals ordered, and 7 super happy customers ! Thank you and well done to family. Big shout to mama!

Now this is what I call a Restaurant, with capital R! Everything was so nice and fine, you should wear a suit there, if only the weather wasn't too hot for that 😁! Really traditional Greek food and soooo tasty, but no way either of adults could finish their plates no matter how big of a fight we gave it. Good wine, good local drinks, fresh fresh fresh food, the fish was still little little bit flopping on the plate, though cooked already to perfection 👌! Just so yummy! 🙏 And also the restaurant itself had so many perfect little details and plantations that suited so nicely together, making atmosphere so nice! Thank you for the nice ending to our trip here on Crete! Absolute best!

Amazing dinner at Agioklima in Platanias! The stifado was exceptional – melt-in-your-mouth tender and packed with rich, authentic flavor. Every dish we tried was incredibly tasty, and the warm, welcoming service made the experience even better. A true gem in Platanias – highly recommended!

This restaurant is amazing! The food was delicios with awesome taste that is hard to find. The terrace is very big, very clean, with plants down that makes it special. The waiters and owners are great people with the greek hospitality that You expect to find. For sure will come back.

We had a very nice evening today at Mythos Restaurant. The waiters were all very nice and gave good advice and insight into their menu. The food was simply delicious. Yes, some dishes may be a bit more expensive at first glance, but the portions were big and plenty. Also, the cut steak plate for two people had everything you could ask for, and if you think about splitting the price per person, it's pretty fair pricing for what you get. We left full and more than satisfied. It was perfect for a romantic evening out. Would recommend to come here at least once, if you have the chance. :)

The place looks very good, the terrace in the back is very cozy. All the staff is very friendly, they know how to treat a customer, and the food is so tasty, like a bite of Greece. I sugest eating there with all my heart!

Great food with amazing service. We got some free raki and ouzo, and a little bit of dessert on the house too. It's not located right next to the street so the mood is nice and peaceful. Strongly recommend.

We (family of six) dined here. We were welcomed warmly and with smiles. We ate Greek salad, pita breads and tzatkiki for appetizers and everyone liked those. For main courses we had village sausages, two pastitsio, homemade pasta with chicken, soutzoukakia and children's pizza and we loved our dishes. A real hidden gem! It’s a small local restaurant, that’s owned by a local couple. The dishes were local specialties and more than delicious! The hand made, fresh pita is a must try! The ambience was chill, there was local music playing in the background and we were waited on with a smile - it was in general a nice experience. Perfect for a date but also for a family dinner. Would definitely recommend checking it out if you want to try local dishes for a reasonable price!

It is a small restaurant with extremely kind staff. It serves mainly Greek food at an affordable price. Don't get me wrong, the food is delicious and I would really recommend this particular restaurant to anyone interested in experiencing Greek cuisine. The taste is spot on.

We got a warm and friendly welcome when we came to the restaurant, the restaurant is a bit smaller and had a very nice and private atmosphere. The service was the best we experienced in Crete, we got ti taste wine before ordering it and the staff gave us very good tips on what to order in a very nice way. The menu had a lot of Cretan dishes and all the food was cooked with a lot of love, the best dishes we tried were the zucchini balls and the shrimp saganaki, we tried these dishes on a couple of different restaurants but this place had the best by far. Highly recommend this place!

We asked for "medium rare" steaks. They came as "medium". They were tasty though, but the vegetables were also under-grilled / completely raw. The children's chicken souvlaki was very small with only 5 pieces of chicken and a mountain of fries (the chicken/fries-ratio is the opposite in other restaurants), so we had to order another children's menu item for our 2yr old. The toddler chairs are useless (detailed description under image). Do not bring small and wild children here, for your own sanity's sake. The waiter did a good job by being very attentive and friendly. The eating area lacked fans, so eating here before sundown will be a very sweaty affair. In my opinion the overall experience doesn't live up to the high prices. Don't be fooled by the "Fine dining" and "Gourmet" labels found on this page.

Wonderful dining experience, the staff made us so welcome and the food was delicious. If you like ginger leave room for the ginger creme brulé, it was absolutely delicious. Loved the well cooked steak. We will definitely be back soon

Perfect atmosphere, service and food! We orerded the Rigatoni with shrimps and it was really delicious! The service was outstanding, friendly and professional! Last but not least, I loved the background music as it was super romantic 80ies soft rock ;)

My family and I returned to dine at this restaurant after 5 years. I can honestly say, that the service, food and atmosphere are exactly what we thoroughly enjoyed and remembered experiencing from the past. It was my sons 18th birthday and Angelina, the waitress helped incredibly to ensure that we had a wonderful time and she was a delightful young lady. My son was sung to and treated to a birthday dessert. What a memorable and heart warming way to end our evening. Thank you so much to the manager and other staff for giving us such fantastic customer service and making us feel welcomed, valued and appreciated. We, of course, will recommend you to our friends, family and loved ones, and look forward to dining again at the restaurant, as the food was divine and most definitely worth the money.

The restaurant is clean and stylish. The menu is extensive and the food we enjoyed was tasty and of high quality. The service is excellent and the customers are also taken care of. I think the price level is also right in relation to the overall experience and quality.

I’ve been to this restaurant in Platanias twice now, and both times were absolutely wonderful! The service is exceptional – the staff are attentive, warm, and very knowledgeable, which makes the whole experience feel extra special. The food is amazing, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. I also really appreciated how clearly everything was marked on the menu, with plenty of gluten-free options, which made choosing dishes easy and stress-free. Incredible resturant from the food to the people to the vibe just beautiful, the food is both fresh and delicious. Our waiter for the night came around with shots for everyone and was both funny and incredibly nice, when we went to pay the power went out so we had to wait an additional 30 or so minutes but the people there made it feel like 5 minutes, we were taken very good care off. Both the appetizers and the main course were amazing!

An absolutely fantastic culinary experience with phenomenal views. Very friendly and attentive service. All the food we had was exceptional. Plenty of complimentary drinks provided as well to cap off our evening. The views are truly spectacular! Make sure you book in advance and try to request a table as close to the view as possible. We had a lovely meal here with a stunning view. Unfortunately the waiters made the experience not very enjoyable. They were constantly screaming around to talk to one another and pass on orders. Also otherwise they did not deliver the service level and friendliness we have experienced so far in Crete. Great food but rather stressful environment to eat in.

We took a liking to this place after our accidental hike while exploring the upper streets of Platanias. We climbed the old wooden stairs and emerged right in the garden of this restaurant with a beautiful view of the sea and Agia Marina. The friendly owner gifted us with two chilled waters after the climb. We had to come back here and had a delicious Greek salad. They also have excellent cocktails, as we found out a few days later on our last evening in Crete. A lovely farewell. I hope we will be back.

We visited Astrea twice during our vacation, and both experiences were excellent. The staff were highly professional and attentive, making us feel genuinely welcomed and well taken care of. To start, we had garlic bread with tzatziki, which was incredibly flavorful. For the main course, I had the beef fillet on both visits — it was, without a doubt, the best I’ve ever had in Platanias. Perfectly cooked, tender, and bursting with flavor, it was served with a delicious mix of grilled vegetables, sweet potato mash, and sweet potato chips. Every element on the plate complemented the meat beautifully. We will absolutely be returning for another outstanding meal and the nice view.

Food, flavors and quality was top notch. We ate chicken souvlaki, kleftiko and stroganoff. The portions were not too big and served very nice. However, 23€ for stroganoff is a quite high price for a place like this. Staff members were helpful and answered our questions about the dishes, but we did not felt welcomed there as it was in different places on Crete. In a nutshell: food is excellent, a bit expensive. Waiters were correct and proper, but nothing more.

Do not miss this restaurant. Everything is delicious. I particularly loved the lamb chops and kleftiko, and the garlic cheese bread with bacon is a must. I’ve been to Crete 4x and tried all the “must go” places and this by far beats them. Family owned, and the chef is the wife/mother. Traditional home style Cretan cuisine. Cozy, kind family with a great sunset and view.

They state "fine dining" on the menu , and in a way it is , as they have more interesting selections than the more "turist" restaurants . The service and the place it self is OK . . I had Sushi and the selection was classic and tasted as expected.

It's always a pleasure to dine in Zafferano. Very hospitable and kind people, attentive to your every need. Their specialties are Italian and Sushi food, with many options for pasta and risottos and fresh sushi made from the chef at that time. Great salads and wine list too. The setting and the view are beautiful, so enjoy it at sunset hours for the best evening you can have. The best food experience in Platanias. If you go downtown to Chania old port, make sure you also visit their other restaurant, Kariatis, which has similar menu, but instead of sushi serves pizza also. Prices are normal, as you would expect for that kind of level of dining. Will visit every time we visit Chania, definitelly recommended!

It was a great restaurant, but when they combined semi Italian cuisine with Sushi sorry it makes no sense what so ever, its was a bad business decision which I'm quite sure that you have seen the impact since introducing Sushi and the reason I'm saying this is that is what I noticed, sadly I was in the area this year and we avoided eating there, its sad beacuase it was one of my favourite and my wife's favourite restaurant, I do hope that you look into the 2018 season minus the Sushi.

This place use to be 5 stars. Now 2 stars at its highest. Probably the owner is bored, keeping prices high and not taking care of the menu. Same overpriced menu for the last 15 years!!

Overall it was a good restaurant. The location is quite central in Platanias, it was easy to find. The service was good and the food we ordered arrived on time and tasted nice. There is an indoor playground for kids. They also gave us complementary raki/ ouzo and ice cream. It gets really hot in there, so we were drenched in sweat during dinner, we had to ask if they could turn the fans on. They seemed more focused on the regulars than new customers but I guess that is expected.

Very friendly and accommodating as they opened a little bit early for us as we were looking for lunch for our toddler. The children play area was great to keep her occupied until the food arrived. Big fans on the pleasant terrace and in the play area kept us cool. The food was very good, we had calamari and gemista. Highly recommend

We ate here after a long day in Elafonissi, so be fair, we were a bit tired already, when we came in. It was a very hot day and it didn't get much easier here. The fans weren't quite enough for the heat and we were sweating quite a bit while eating here. Service was friendly, but it seems that bigger groups and locals get more attention than a tired touristy couple. Service was still attentive when arrived and very patient with our questions, thank you for that. We ordered some starters and a main dishes and all that we ate was perfect. Missing a star here might have been more the circumstacies this time, so I think we will give this restaurant yet another go on our next trip. The food deserves it.

My friends are happy, I'm happy. Got a perfect amount of food, I only ordered garlic bread, a sangria and a Mythos (I was thirsty) Afterwars we got raki with a twist, it's really good! And a big plus, he actually remembered who ordered what when the food arrived. We highly recommend!

Well run restaurant with excellent food! Great portion sizes and a decent children's menu. The steak was cooked perfectly and the ribs fell off the bone.

Ate here 1st week of October. Was really busy up until 10pm. I think the atmosphere and ambiance would be better if you're downstairs or up top but on the balcony. We were kind of crammed in towards the back. Food came quick and is well presented. We had chicken souvlaki, which i felt was more of a chicken breast on a skewer tbf but it was cooked well and nicely presented. Partner had salmon which she said was nice but some of her sides a little cold. Would recommend people give it a try however, we'll be trying try others nearby. 42€ for those and 2 beers.

Fantastic traditional restaurant serving delicious Cretan food. The Antikristo lamb was delicious. Lovely atmosphere and service.

Good place to order meat, it is very cosy inside. We ordered lamb (very well cooked), fish which was also fine, but bony, I don’t recommend calamari. It was overpriced with just two pieces of calamari inside of the casserole. Few olives and plenty of olives pits at the bottom and no information about it. I realized it when I bit into one. And they were just pits without olives. So we got casserole with pits instead of olives and two pieces of calamari. servers were nice, they smiled, but when they left the table they talked quickly to each other and roll their eyes and the customer could feel like he was being talked down to. But maybe it’s just my impression. Place is okay if you want to order meat I’m pretty sure they’re famous for it.

We ordered pasta carbonara, chicken and gyros pita. The pasta was a bit cold, but the rest of the food was good. all in all a pleasant dinner.

We were advised to go to this restaurant for local dishes. It was certainly magnificent. The dishes were amazing, the service was great, thanks to the pleasant people, and the prices were reasonable. Anyone can select various salads, starters, main dishes, either with meat or vegan. Let alone the warm bread, baked warm in that restaurant and the sweet treats in the end.

Our Greek hostess recommended this place and we loved it. If you are a fan of lamb dishes this restaurant will become one of your favourites too! They offer other delicious alternatives, both vegetarian and non-vegetarian. We started our 2-week holiday by having dinner here and we marked the end of our holiday by having dinner here again. The slowly cooked lamb is a must try, also the one with garlic and wine sauce (you will have dreams about it!). The snails with rosemary, the grape leaves and zucchini flowers stuffed with rice, the uniquely-flavoured rabbit, gyros, Greek salad, plus the special Cretan pilaf (a dish usually cooked for weddings and special occasions) will make your dinner an unbelievable feast. Cozy atmosphere and great service. A special thanks to Mrs. A., the lovely Romanian hostess who greeted us with a charming smile and spot on recommendations.

If you are going for the grill, remember to ask what's available before sitting. I got tempted by the fire at the entrance because I wanted grilled lamb, and we went in invited by the nice lady at the entrance. The service was very good. It took them a while to hand over the menus and then take our order, but after that they were very fast and friendly. Despite the fire was on, they told me they didn't have any grilled lamb left. I asked then the waiter to recommend a dish, he recommended a stewed lamb that to be honest it was quite dull and disappointing. We also asked for a pilaf, and that wasn't good either. The rice is made in lamb fat and it tasted alright, but the presentation and the rest of the dish was not good. Two big chunks of chicken breast, a bone of lamb and a huge chunk of lamb fat with connective tissue. It looked like dog food. The dishes had a very decent size, and other's people dishes looked better than ours. Maybe we were unlucky with our choices. The appetizers were good. Lastly, it is an open space and thus it is allowed to smoke. So if you are okay with eating while inhaling other's people Marlboro, then you will be okay.

We went here for dinner and the staff there were so friendly and helped us to customise the menu as per our spice levels and served us accordingly. We ordered palak paneer , biryani (comes with Gravy and Curd/ Raitha) and fried rice and everything was really great. It’s a nice Indian restaurant close to Chania.

We came for dinner because we wanted something spicy. There were no people, so we were served very quickly. Spicy Indian food according to your taste from 1 to 5 chili 🌶️ peppers. The service is impeccable. Thank you, it was delicious.

we loved EVERYTHING about this restaurant!! most delicious indian food (we had the classics tikka massala, butter chicken, samosa) and a lovely wine - the best was the most wonderful and charming service by Daphne (apologies if I don’t spell it correctly), absolutely amazing from A - Z and HIGHLY recommended. We even had a nice table on the balcony and a delicious mini ice cream for the ideal finish. Perfect all together & THANK YOU for your marvelous hospitality!

Very desapointed - not worth the price at all. Not tasty food. The service was also bad, sad waiting a long time, While the staff, put light on the table, never minding the 3 remaing guest where almost finish eating and needed "take away" service. The food was not done and did not taste good at all. Bad expirience I must say. We Will never eat there again. 😣 Go instead on the other side to "The Thimari" (which we did a couple of days earlyer) there is much better service an super tasty food. The view is just as good from there too. 😉

My wife and I came in late just an hour before closing, as we had a long day of travel. Marios got us seated and gave fantastic service for our entire stay even though we were the only ones there late into the night. Cannot give him enough praise and the food was amazing, as well!

If you want to combine a delicious meal with a breathtaking view, you have come to the right place! The room is located upstairs and you access it either by the stairs or by an elevator. And there... you discover this incredible panorama. You will be served like a king because the restaurant has only few tables. Each customer is therefore served and cared for with great attention. The cuisine is refined and sophisticated. Local products are privileged and the chef manages to sublimate them perfectly. Whether in the morning with a la carte breakfast or in the evening, the moments spent at Galazio are magical. I can only advise you to try the experience because it is unforgettable!

Although I have visited the hotel many times before, this was my first visit to Galazio Restaurant, and in particular to a wine pairing night that is ogranized weekly. We really loved it. The atmosphere, the amazing local food creations by Chef Yiannis Tsivourakis, a chef that respects the produce and the people who consume it to the maximum degree, and of course the wines pairing and fabulous commentary from the sommelier Anna Maria Kambourakis who is so passionate about what she does! What can I say!! I recommend it with no hesitation whatsoever! Whether you one is a guest at the hotel, or a visitor in Crete, or even a local don't miss it!!!

Just visit this restaurant. Every penny is worth it. The food is amongst the best we have eaten in restaurants without Michelin stars and the staff is well trained and socially skilled to the max. For example, just a brief notice that we where celebrating our 10 year anniversary as married during the booking meant that we where greated by name when arriving, placed at the best table AND celebrated with a complimentary cake and Moscato. Everything done in a sophisticated way without including everyone in the restaurant. 10/10 from us. See you again!

We came for breakfast and truly had a wonderful experience. Tonia made sure we had everything we needed, kept our glasses full, and so much food. If we had more time at Minoa Palace, we would come back every morning for the a la carte breakfast.

We went to this restaurant with very high expectations and I must say they were far exceeded! Breathtaking view of the beautiful Platanias as per the attached photos and magnificent welcome from the owner Kostas who welcomed us with great warmth making us feel at home even though we were in this ultra-luxury restaurant! Delicious food, we ranged from a garlic bread appetizer to an excellent boureki, the main course lamb chop and we toasted together with the excellent homemade raki! Highly recommended! The gateway to paradise!

Lovely family taverna located in the upper village of Platanias. Superb food, great staff and excellent service! Nice, relaxed atmosphere, well worth of a visit :)

The view there is amazing but the food was not that good. We got burgers and it was mixed meat and it was not a regular burger it was without the bread. We also got pasta and it was okay but it needed more taste to it. The cocktails are okay. The staff are really friendly and the price is good.

Came here twice, it’s a great deal in my opinion. Nice sunbeds, little floaty cushions on the pool and the pool is really nice all with a nice view and easy access to the beach. Nice chilled music sometimes progressive electronic with a dj sometimes world music influences kinda stuff not too loud. Would recommend calling or WhatsApp to reserve some sunbeds with a nice umbrella shade. There is also a good free carpark with trees for shade. We chose Burata pizza which was great and I had a berry smoothie which was nice. Service is very friendly and fairly quick for us. Sunbeds are 10 euro for 2 and then you need to buy 10 euro each on food or drink. But it’s a good deal in my opinion when sunbeds are often 20 euro or more some places. All in all highly recommend, thanks!:)

We’ve spent all four of our days in Crete at Sohoro, and we’ve loved every moment. We’re already looking forward to returning for our last two days. This place has everything – a gorgeous pool area, direct access to the beach, and a great atmosphere for families. The staff here are incredibly friendly and attentive, making sure everyone feels welcome. The food and drinks have been top-notch, and the comfortable sunbeds make it easy to relax and enjoy the surroundings. Whether you're here with kids or just looking to unwind, there’s something for everyone. All in all, Sohoro has made our Crete vacation unforgettable. We’ll definitely be back!

EXCELLENT! Nice pool area with floating pillows what you can use in the pool. Beach is right there also and the athmosphere is very decent. You can rent sunchairs or sunpillow (pic) and its not expensive (10€ 2xsunchair and 5€ sunpillow). Drinks are good and food was even better. Staff are professional and nice. Full recommend! Good music also!

I recently celebrated my daughter’s 5th birthday at this wonderful restaurant, and it was an amazing experience! They had beautifully decorated the place with balloons in the trees, delightful napkins with "Happy Birthday" printed on them, and colorful party hats for the kids. The food was exceptional, and the service was top-notch. The staff went above and beyond to make our celebration special. What a great little restaurant next to the beach. It was such a cool atmosphere and the staff were so lovely. We ordered a pizza and a lovely souvlaki which was the best food I ate the entire trip. Afterwards he brought out som limoncello and fruit. Highly recommend.

Fabulous breakfast, excellent service, great value for money. The Alkionides breakfast has all the Greek flavours you could wish for. Fruit, honey, yoghurt, egg, olives, Cretan biscuits, hard cheese, soft cheese, spanakopita (spinach and feta pastry) so many veg. With freshly squeezed orange and coffee on the side it made for a perfect start to our holiday. Thank you Yanis for the Greek lessons too!

Had a wonderful dinner at this lovely restaurant with our family (including 1 yo). A nice variety of appetisers and salads. Main dishes are grill only. No vegetarian options. All dishes we ordered were cooked/grilled/presented perfectly. We are coming back at least once before the end of our holiday here.

The worst greek food a la carte I have ever eat!! The tuna was overcoked, the pork souflaki was a fatty gum that you cannot chew. The service very slow at lunch. Never again!

What a lovely atmosphere and excellent service. You need to book in advance. We went for dinner sitting outside. We got lamb picanha and Angus beef 🍖 steak. The lamb dish was at its best! One of the best lamb dishes, I have ever tasted! But my husband's steak wasn't that expected. That's the only reason, I gave it 4 stars. Dessert was excellent, white 🤍 forest! For wine, we got a French one as a glass, it wasn't that good. Maybe other wines would be better, or depending on one's taste. For fine dining, it's really very reasonable price!

I had a fabulous dinner with colleagues and friends at this lovely restaurant. It was a challenge to pick a dish from the menu as everything was tempting, from the starters to the main dishes, as well as the sides. Aside that, the atmosphere was cozy and welcoming thanks to the seats, the design, the music. The staff and the sea view were just stunning.

Food is delicious (Try their burger) and service was great both times. However they only offer steak/meat, the menu could be a little more diversified.

Had dinner at the Cosmos Restaurant a few weeks ago and was blown away and wanted to make sure I wrote a review to thank the restaurant. To find the restaurant you have to walk up a hill and through winding streets which only added to the experience. Walking into the restaurant reveals an AMAZING view overlooking the sea...just breathtaking! Their hospitality and customer service was excellent...they really care about their customers. We sat on the rooftop towards the back bar (the rooftop was full) which was fine because there is not a bad view in the restaurant. Dinner was DELICIOUS! We had a greek salad (standard) Lamb Shank with mashed potatoes, Pasta, Moussaka and Zucchini balls that we shared. Paired with a delicious Nostos Blend red wine from Crete which was recommended by the owner.... the meal was heavenly. We ended the meal with the best Galaktoboureko I have ever had. Thank you Cosmos Restaurant. One of the most memorable meals I have ever had and I will surely be back as soon as possible! Until then, I will relive the experience in the photos! :)

Cosmos is the best restaurant in Platanias. It’s worth the walk up the hill! Don’t miss this experience. Nice view, nice atmosphere (not noisy and full of tourists) quite and calm, delicious food and very good service. We will for sure be back

We were here on our honeymoon in 2010, and after 15 years we returned to Chania. Many things have changed but this place still is the best restaurant of Crete to us. It is very classy and the food is pure happines in our mouth. If you count with that the very friendly service, you just know you arrived in a little paradise. One extra tip: make sure to arrive on time to see the marvelous Sunset from the rooftop terras! What a view, it will make you experience one of your purest memories of this beautiful Island.

Summary: great view, tasty food, good service. We visited Comos yesterday, so memories are still fresh. Let's begin with location. It's a climb. I recommend taking a 10Eur taxi on your way there and having a nice walk back after a meal. Restaurant surroundings are quite rustic, but the place itself is fine. We were greeted by a friendly hostess, that was not shy on smalltalk. Sooner than later she introduced us to our waiter, we were seated and received menus. First impression - BOY THEY DO HAVE THE VIEW! Quick tip: book your table 30 minutes to sunset, otherwise terrace is a sauna. And you really want to seat at the terrace, as close to the edge as possible for best spectacle. Waiter was friendly and competent. Main course recommendation, asked about beverages and left us to decide. If anyone from Cosmos staff is reading - guys, a bottle of table water should just be there, like always. Buy a water filter and just serve it free. Food was really good. Both presentation and execution. We had calamari, swordfish tartare and some mushroom in sauce as starters. Bread (not complimentary) was fresh and warm. Main courses: tomato pasta, shrimp pasta, tuna (I guess it was sous vide then quickly grilled just for "grill marks", correct me if I'm wrong), lamb. Nothing to complain about. Not grand cru levels, but considering affordable price - excellent. Selection of wines, mostly local which I appreciated was good, both quality and price -wise. Waiter was able to offer an advice, though he's not a sommelier and it shows. We were ordering bottles and were presented with them properly. There was a tiny hicckup with a waiter when he forgot my glass or red that I ordered extra just for the lamb. Nothing terrible though. Funny I asked just for a "red that goes well with lamb" hoping for a Shiraz and they must have read my mind as I got exactly that! Wrapping up - Cosmos is a great place to spend an evening. Nice music (most of the evening they played Fado), good service, not too posh yet a bit higher tone than most of the restaurants in lower Platanias. Food worth the extra price. View quite priceless. I can easily recommend.

Absolutely fantastic view, which is worth the visit alone. The food was also incredible, and the Vanilla Dream desert is to die for. The service was also amazing, and a special shoutout to George, who was always smiling and joking around. We had to visit again just for him.

Beach restaurant, we got a table with a view of the ocean, outside. We ordered carbonara and chicken souvlaki, very good and normal sized portions. Atmosphere was very good, and the waiters were very nice. Price very normal a price to other restaurant nearby. Recommend this place!

What a superb restaurant. If your in the area, near the area or driving through I highly recommend this restaurant. It's right on the beach with a lovely view out to sea.uou can use the sunbeds if you are a customer. Everywhere was clean and tidy. The staff were so friendly and polite and looked smart in thier uniforms. We ordered a prosciutto pizza and a kleftiko lamb. For dessert we had tiramisu and baklava with ice cream. To drink we had still water and a large draught lager. The bill came to €64. The food tasted so nice and fresh. It was delicious. We are definitely going back again. Please check the photos for the menu as there is something for everyone. Thank you for an amazing meal.

Perfect place for a quick drink or a meal. Facing the ocean if you can ignore all the sun bathing tourists. Prices are descent and the staff very friendly. The big trees gives a nice shade and atmosphere. Fine last meal before traveling home. Pork souvlaki and a Greek sallad and the views of the Mediterranean sea.

Amazing food. Went here everyday for lunch and was amazing every time. Expect slow service though. Took up to 30 min to get served at times, but the food was too good to not come back!

Only has Pizza, but it was good. And just waters (soda/tonic). Very hard to rate, probably more like 3.8 stars overall, good, but not anything extra special. Service was ok, but finding that many restaurants here in Greece/Crete (and Santorini), get you started, but then you can feel a little forgotten. Atmosphere very nice listening to the crashing waves. Pricing listed more typical than what we had - appetizers, salad, entrees and drinks.

We stayed at the Marika hotel and went to waves for our first night in Platanias as it was located in the hotel. The view and scenery of the restaurant are gorgeous! When we arrived we ordered a bread basket, and for starter we ordered a mushroom tart. It took about 25-30 minutes until the bread basket arrived with the mushroom tart. We would expect the basket to arrive pretty soon after ordering it. The bread also seemed like something you could get frozen from a grocery store and the presentation was not that appealing. The tart seemed to be straight from the oven as it was pretty hot, but it was way too much crust compared to filling. However the taste of the filling was good. We were still chewing the last bit of our starter/bread when they came with our main course and asked if we were done. We expected to get some time in between to let the food settle. For the main course we ordered a Greek salad and moussakas. The portions were big and the vegetables seemed fresh. The moussaka tasted good, but it was very greasy and the potato/other filling ratio was leaning towards more potatoes. It is a beautiful restaurant, but don’t know if we would go there if it wasn’t for us staying at the hotel. The pricing is also fair, but some starters were a bit expensive. We also wish there were more Cretan/Greek items for starters on the menu.

Though the dishes look really nice they lack flavour. You have to ask twice for the food or beverage and then they'll bring you food that was for another table. While we were thinking about getting dessert they came already with the bill, so we decided not to order further.

Well, it looks nice with a great view of the ocean, but the staff hasn't smile since childhood and they sometimes even seems to feel annoyed about customers ordering. Better take a walk 20 meters to the west and you'll find Carpe Diem. Nice and friendly restaurant.

The food was absolutely delicious, especially the squid. The service was excellent as well – we even got a raki and some tasty little cakes for dessert, free of charge. The view was truly amazing, and we felt very comfortable and welcome throughout our stay. The starters were particularly tasty too. Prices were completely reasonable. We stayed for a day on their I beachside sun beds, which are free of charge if you consume from their menu. Great location, polite and nice staff. Shrimp basket was absolute heaven! Loved this place and recommending it!

It was absolutely delicious. We went there twice in the span of 4 days. The pizza's are between 11-16 euro and are just amazing. It does get a little busy so making a reservation for a bigger group is best. Vegetarian pizza was amazing

You don’t have to wait long to get the food here. Perfect for a quick bite! I recommend getting the garlic bread and the pasta with truffle and beef if you are there. We also tried some other dishes, but the ones I mentioned were the ones we liked there. The only bad thing is that it is located right next to the main road, so if you get a table near the outside it is gonna be a lot of noise.

It was easy enough to get a table, even without a reservation. We had been looking forward go going , based on reviews, but did not quite live up to expectations. The food was nice enough, the service was adequate, and prices quite reasonable, but did feel a little like just another Euro in the till, so to speak. We won't be returning any time soon.

Amazing, from all the points of view: food, service and atmosphere. The whole place is gorgeous, we visited at night and the terrace looked wonderful and welcoming. The service was very friendly and helpful, our waiter taking the time to make sure we feel very welcome; having friendly chats about our countries foods/beverages and places (it was a pleasant surprise to find out he visited Romania several times). beautiful food here and we are really fussy. We only like the best and don’t mind paying for the best. our gin and tonics were the perfect strength so not weak at all and the food was exquisite because is was so fresh and cooked to perfection. my tuna salad even had my favorite dip on top - taramasalata and when i added avocado it was too good.

You feel welcome by the whole staff. Menu competence and good cretan wine. Sea bass and spareribs were both deligthful. Greek music in the speakers but not too loud. Close by the road but not ruining the relaxed atmosphere. People from many countries visiting from the hotels nearby. We will be back!

We had spaghetti carbonara and spaghetti with shrimp. Both were very good, with large filling portions and great sauce. Service could be better, given that we were there in the early afternoon with limited acitivity. Place is in general cute, but also had limited fans and no aircondition as is the norm for crete, so order ice if its warm!

This is a hidden gem in the town as its down an ally from the main street towards the ocean. Make sure to go here its soo much better then the other places allong the main street the staff is awessome and the athmospere is great. I had the best lamb i tried whole week and our party of 9 all took diffrent dishes and we all agreed they were the best we had out of all the restaurants we tried

We had an amazing experience at Ariadne. The food was absolutely delicious – both the dinners and the desserts were outstanding. On top of that, the view is stunning and creates such a relaxing atmosphere. The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and made us feel right at home. What an absolutely lovely place! The first time we had lunch at Ariadne we chose at random among the many similar Beach cafes. But the service stood out a mile! Very, very family friendly, my children LOVED the staff. Add the wonderful food (The best moussaka in Platanias, for sure! And they have desserts to die for...) how could We not come back, again and again? So that one meal turned into many more, it became our stop. I cannot recommend high enough.

My mother and I were greeted by very friendly and nice staff at the entrance and we were given an overview of the menu. We sat at nice tables and comfortable chairs. The food tasted very good, we got to taste real Greek food for the first time! And the best thing that I loved was that we got large portions. Found this place on Google Maps and it looked promising. We got seated right away and were able to place our order shortly after. Food came fast and tasted really good indeed. Great local beer too! I had the mixed meats platter and all meats really were cooked to perfection and tasted delicious. Service was fast and attentive, the only thing that almost made me give one star less was the fact that for at least the first 15-20 minutes after we arrived, the Sirtaki song was playing on repeat over and over again. 😆 Nice song, Greek vibes, I get it. But not for 20 minutes nonstop. However, they realized eventually and changed the music. When we left, the restaurant was completely packed so if you’re planning to go in the evening, you might want to reserve a table.

Have visited here dozens of times over the last fifteen years. No matter where we stay in Crete the visit is must. Real Family tavern run by Deiktaki family. Food has allways been excellent, kleftiko and lamb Drosia are bomb proof choises, saganaki and stuffed zucchini flowers also work every time; And please try the red house wine, it's really good 🍷. Our local favorite in Crete – Drosia is the restaurant we always return to. It’s a true gem in Platanias! The garden setting is magical, and the food represents Greek cuisine at its very best. Fresh ingredients, authentic flavors, and dishes made with love. I highly recommend their fantastic Drosia lamb in white wine sauce. The staff are warm, welcoming, and make you feel right at home. Located at the beach. Run by true passionate people who serve the customers with love respect and kindness. Portions are big enough for adult man. Food is very tasty. We came back many times and will come back in the future for sure. An authentic Greek experience, when it comes to food, service and atmosphere. The best restaurant in Chania area, no doubt. The food, especially their seafood, is delicious. Great portions for three price. Ambiance is festive and peaceful at the same time, the staff is incredibly kind and helpful. Don’t miss Therinos if you visit Chania.

Food Options is plenty and food was overalls good. Mutton and ribs gets a compliment. Souvlaki was too salty. Greek salad was fresh but the smallest feta cheese have eaten. Family friendliness: They have baby chair and the food for babies came fast However, the advertised playground was broken, and look from the state it has been broken for while Athmosphere Atmosphere gets very good marks it was cozy and with that with the nice view, everything was very organized Service Service was tentative and relatively fast. We got kids portions very quickly. Drinks took some time to come, but that’s OK. Overall Overall, the experience was ok, pricing was tiny bit more expensive than other locations nearby and this restaurant has adopted the American method of tips

Great atmosphere with views over Platanias and the ocean. The head waiter seemed to be a logistical genius taking care of all of us coming there without a reservation. Got seated within minutes. Food was good and the beer was cold, what more can you wish for.

Nice location half way to old Platanias up to the hill. Perfect view iver the city to the sea to enjoy your evening or watch the sun set. Service was very friendly and fast, no additional waiting and no resevation needed, at least if you are eating ealier as nordics usually do. Food was great we tested few starters and then main courses with nice cold beer. Everything tasted fresh and authentic. Going to come again on our next trip.

An on spec visit as we were tired and hungry on the way back to our apartment,they were open nice and early which suited us fine. Lovely spacious terrace with super views over the coast. Nice menu with had my favourite, Swordfish, so that was me sorted. Hubby chose the Lamb in wine and we had the house white as an accompaniment. Everything delicious, including the house wine. Wonderful attentive service, even when the restaurant became busy. A super, well run family outfit, like so many of these delightful restaurants we find ourselves dining in. We will return as that swordfish is too tempting....

A wonderful family run restaurant with great food and service. The family are very welcoming and look after you from start to finish. The grills and local dishes are fantastic. Kids are well catered for here. It’s away from the main road just on the way to the old village. Great views and worth dining at sunset time. Don’t miss this restaurant.

Visited in september, and had the worst dining-experience in Crete - by far!! Do not visit this place, unless you are accompanied by a man or a large group. Females - watch your drinks and leave asap if you feel unwell or "off". Do NOT let the waitstaff sit down next to you if you are wearing a dress or similar. Stay happy, and stay safe ladies.

Tasteless dry mest. All of the food was missing taste i general. There was a lot of noise inside the restaurant, from an aircondition, so you could't hear what the other persons were saying. The waiters was very kind and happy.

Worst food I had in Platanias. I first tried to order the ribeye steak, but unfortunately the cook didn’t want to serve it since they had just received it in. The server offered us the filet instead, which we declined — but he pushed back and asked why we didn’t want the filet. Bit of a weird interaction, since if we wanted the filet we would order that, but ok. Instead, I ordered the spare ribs. What I was served was a boneless slab of gelatinous meat, absolutely drenched in barbecue sauce. I honestly have no idea what it actually was. The texture and taste were so bad I could only eat half. Worst spare ribs I’ve had in my entire life, and that includes the microwaveable ones. The location was nice and modern, and the raki was good — but the server almost forced us to drink it, pouring more into our glasses even after we said no. It’s a good place to watch the sunset and maybe grab a beer or two, but I definitely wouldn’t go there for the food.

Amazing place! The service was great, the scenery and atmosphere was amazing. The food came quickly and tasted so so good. I really cannot tell you how great the greek cousine tasted. We had stifado and moussaka. The stifado sauce was crazy good and the moussaka was great value and also tasty. For anyone looking for a great dining experience, this is the place.

Last night, my fiancé and I had the absolute pleasure of dining out, and the experience was nothing short of phenomenal. From the moment we walked in, everything felt warm, welcoming, and effortlessly elegant, not to mention the stunning view. Make sure to go there to watch the sunset. My fiancé ordered the massive pork chop, and it was perfectly cooked, juicy, tender, and full of flavor, with just the right balance of seasoning. I had the goat, and it was truly sublime. Melt-in-your-mouth tender, beautifully spiced, and paired with some fries. The service was attentive without being intrusive, and the atmosphere was cozy yet refined, making the evening feel all the more special. It was one of those meals that you keep thinking about long after it’s over. We can’t wait to come back!

Lovely traditional Greek taverna with wonderful views of the hills and sea. Lovely flowers make it very colourful. Lots of tables all with good views. Lovely menu with a variety of traditional home cooked food and service is very friendly. Food very tasty enjoyed homemade Greek pastries, meatballs in tomato sauce and chicken with potatoes.

This place is a gem! My girlfriend and I came to this cozy family restaurant after a full day at Afrata Beach. It’s just 4–5 minutes away from the beach. The menu isn’t huge, but everything we had tasted fresh and homemade. We started with a Greek salad, and I could really feel the quality of the ingredients—simple, but super fresh. For mains, my girlfriend had the octopus cooked in olive oil and wine sauce, and I had the meatballs with rice. The spices in the meatballs were something special—definitely the highlight for me. I’d recommend them to anyone. I also tried a bit of the octopus—it was cooked just right and the sauce was delicious. The guy who served us (I think his name was Stavros) was really polite and welcoming. The atmosphere was perfect after a hot beach day—cool fresh air, the sound of cicadas all around, and a stunning panoramic view. We loved it.

Every time I am in Crete, l go to this restaurant. We always eat a lot of starters, and end up not really having room for the main courses, but still order one or two because the food here is so good. It is worth a visit even if it is a bit far away. The owners are very nice people, and serve you in a good and friendly way. The mushrooms and spicy peppers are a must. The toilets are clean! I have been to Ta Litsas Ta Kamomata again today (07.06.2019), and the food was excellent- again!!! We were so lucky to get seats yesterday (31.07.2020), and the food and the service is as good as always!

Good food for good prize. Stuffed mushrooms were good, saganaki was good, meatballs with lemon were tasteful and stuffed vine leaves were ok. Red house wine was ok. Another day we ate pizza which was quite good. I think the food is 4/5 but prizes are 6/5. I recommend.

The best place we've eaten in whole Platanias. Delicious food (especially stifado and grilled halloumi!), great atmosphere and outstanding service. We laughed with Leonidas so much, had great time and kids fell in love with him. It was truly heartwarming experience to visit that place multiple times. We hope to come back one day!

An amazing place, with totally fresh and local fish food, in a setting that is as I remember from my childhood years. We went twice, always got the sea urchin. We loved so much this place that next year we are planning to visit Crete and stay at that village 😃 Definitely you should go.

The food was very good, different and very good quality. The servers are very nice too. However, the price was very expensive, especially the appetizers. It was barely a few bites for 19.-. The fish by the kg was also expensive, and it was prepared with rice on the side which was not even counted in the fish price (which wasn’t specified it had to be paid extra although it’s part of the dish).

Absolutely beautiful. If you walk through the road-side entrance (rather than the port-side) you walk through a lovely restaurant down stairs out into the plaza in front of the port. Fantastic food. Sometimes took a moment to get the attention of the staff, but on the whole a wonderful sea-side setting and delicious, high quality food. More than your standard taverna, by a long way.

Great expectations of this place but was left disappointed! Food was good but the staff let it down. Staff chatting to each other and ingnored us...We went up to them after a few minutes waiting and asked them if we could sit down, you can sit anywhere was the response. After ordering and the food arriving we didnt see the staff again, nobody came to ask if everything was ok and would we like desert etc..infact we left our table went to the service area paid the bill and left. Lots and lots of restaurants on that stretch so having the staff fail on the basics was disappointing.

Highly recommended within all of Chania area. Fantastic food, and even greater staff makes the whole experience wholesome! Seafood platter, desserts, or other fish delicacies, you would need several trips to experience the culinary exp.

Great restaurant next to the marina. Food was delicious; we had the seafood pasta and the calamari. Only the french fries came out almost raw, a bad moment I guess. Service was prompt and bonus the square next to it with many kids playing.

Nice views, great wine. The food was good but not great. I had the garlic shrimps with a side of fries. The portion was relatively small for the price and the taste was average, nothing surprising or outstanding. While my food arrived pretty fast, my partners food didn’t arrive until 10-15 minutes later. I had already fully finished my meal (would have been cold otherwise) by the time her food arrived. The waiter did apologize for the delay but did not compensate it or offer any alternatives as an apology. Overall we a had a mixed experience, food is not bad but I wouldn’t recommend going there on a busy evening as it seems that they can’t handle many orders at the same time (probably due to the lack of kitchen space or staff).

Such a great atmosphere, beautiful terrace with views of the marina, after a day out in the sea definitely the right place to be, lovely attentive people. Wonderful fresh food cocked to perfection. I would definitely recommend this place to everyone!

Top ! The food is amazing especially the tuna tartare and the stuffed cuttlefish (also eggplant entry), the waiter is very nice and polite, really sweet. I highly recommend it and the prices are very fair for the great food quality and quantity.

We stumbled upon this place on a travel day when none of our plans were working out and we’re SO glad we ended up here. Some of the best grilled meat I’ve had and their bread was fresh, soft, and heated on the grill for a lovely little char. The owner was the sweetest woman who went out of her way to make us feel cared for, and made our day so much better. We will be thinking about this food long after we leave the island.

Loved this place. I had the pork souvlaki and it was the best one I had on Crete - very juicy and just off the grill. This is a family owned restaurant and the owners are incredible people who put a lot of effort to make you feel welcome. As a complimentary starter you get bread charred on grill with tomatoes and tzatziki, which all taste great. This restaurant cannot boast the seaside view like other places at the waterfront in Kolymbari but owners and food they prepare make it a much more memorable experience than the touristy ones at the beach. If I am visiting this part of the world again I am definitely coming back here.

Nice place on the beach. From east ( we walked aprrox. 30 minutes from our apartment) this was the first beach where - despite of the waves - you can swim a bit and don’t afraid of rocky parts. Foods were ok, service was great. We spent here a pleasant day.

Very good chicken soup and it went well with the garlic bread as a side dish. Perfect for a light lunsj. Good service and very nice staff. The menu is big, and have a lot of options to choose from. The only reason for 4 stars at the atmosphere is my intolerance for bugs whilst sitting by the table or when eating. But the restaurant itself is clean and gives a home'y vibe

Very pleasant dinner experience here! We had the Avrofiliton salad and the chicken filet with mushroom sauce and everything was tasty and cooked nicely. I came here as I walked by and was greeted by, I believe, one of the owners. The food was great! The octopus was great and I would recommend it if you have the chance to eat it. The staff is friendly and professional. Even the head chef came to see if everything was okay. One of the best octopus and tzatziki I have ever tasted! Also have some very cute cats walking around.

Very good location, you can have nice roof view. Dishes tasty, unfortunately nothing gluten free available. We had stuffed vine leaves, Boureki, Cretan pilafi, lamb stewed in olive oil. One of 3 waiters was little"sleeping" or have trouble with understanding English. The best surprise with bottle.

Good food, nice terrace with beautiful sea view. The deserts are excellent, made by a local pastry shop apparently, I recommend the orange cake ! However service was very slow, although there were only 3 tables, we had to wait a long time to order, and finally got up to pay the check as they were not coming to the table. If you’re not in a hurry, it’s a great place though !

Nice spot for a quiet beach day. A good place to relax by the sea with the added bonus of nearby food options. Sunbeds are complimentary if you order from the restaurant, which is convenient. We had a burger with fried potatoes and a meat paella-both were tasty and satisfying. You can have your food brought directly to your sunbed, which makes it easy to enjoy your meal without leaving the beach.

Really special place, beautifully placed in nature, close to a small river. The food was classic cretan food. Good taste, and nicely presented. The waiters spoke good English, so we communicated well. I would like to go back for both the good food and the beautiful wiew. Recommended.

Based on the good reviews, we tried to get a table on a Sunday afternoon but were turned away as they had no availability. We then returned on the Tuesday afternoon, it was much quieter and we were able to get a table. The service was good and the location and setting of the restaurant is beautiful. We ordered garlic bread, sesame salad, moussaka, giouvetsi and dessert. The food was good but not the best and I would say this restaurant is overhyped in comparison to some others like Leventis in Stalos. Moussaka was pretty good and sesame salad was really tasty. However the giouvetsi was lacking taste and the dessert (chocolate cake) was very standard with artificially flavoured ice cream. Overall I’d give this place a 7/10, it isn’t bad by any stretch but didn’t blow us away like other reviews had us believe it would.

This is a place that is must visit when you are in Platanias or in this area of Creta. Amazing atmosphere in a deep shadow, close to a small river. Staff is very friendly, honest and helpful. Highly recommend to call and make a reservation in advance otherwise you will be disappointed. Everything that we have ordered arrived very fast and it was fresh and tasty 😋. They served a small bottle of “tsikudia” which is a traditional high alcohol liquor as a starter for free plus some “meze” - olives, cucumbers and snack to make you feel welcome.

Very good and local. Need a car or taxi or a 25 mins walk from Platanias to get there. Food is excellent and prices regular. Lesser than some Platanias restaurants. Recommended.

Very beautiful place. The restaurant was little farther from the main street but it was worth the visit. The plave was surrounded with orange- and citrus trees and the green trees looked beautiful. The staff was friendly and the service was good. The list had many vegetarian options to choose from. We chose to go in a day that was hot and really windy so I think the place would have been even better at night with all of the lights hanging from the trees or maybe on a day that would have had better weather. The place was overall stunning and the food was good. There were room to eat both inside and outside and there were different sized tables for parties of all size. The trees and the near by water created a really relaxed atmosphere to spend time with people and the trees casted a shaddow so the sun wasn't burning so brightly. I would recommend this place.

I’d say the best restaurant in Platanias. Without a doubt. Staff was amazing. I really recommend their house vine, it’s not that expensive and it is really good. We’ve been there twice within three days. I had their bream fish and prawns..the best fish and prawns I’ve ever had.

We enjoyed the food we ordered and the atmosphere tgis place offers is unreal. Not giving 5 stars as we have waited very long time to be approached by waitress and waited good bit for food. Drinks came 20 minutes after we placed the order. I would suggest to cut tomatoes smaller for Greek salad and serve it in bigger plate as it was quite hard to eat. Other than that I'd highly recommend!

Delicious food. Pork Tomahawk perfectly made. Seabream cooked to perfection, and beautifully plated with a variety of vegetables beside. The evening had a chilly wind, our waiter saw me freezing and came and game me a blanket. Top notch!

Great place, me and my girlfriend have been here 2 days the last week. Great food, great atmosphere, great service. The staff is the nicest we have met so far. De they make jokes and chat with you, all while staying very professional. Out of all places in this area. I highly recommend this one!

They have to change the pictures in the menue. We considered leaving because of those! The food was much better than expected. We liked it very much. But you have to have for loukoumades available for desserts.

No, no and no. First “no” goes for hygiene. The toilets had an awful smell, where I sat were hundreds of ants under my pillow and I noticed after several of them started walking on me and we were moved to another table and last by not least we found a hair in one the burgers which they offered to replace but our kids were extremely hungry so we, and take full responsibility, just removed the hair. Second “no” goes for their specialty, the ribs. Any recipe one will look up even on the Internet says to score the meat as little as possible so as to preserve juices and flavor. The scoring here was up to the bone, I have never seen anything like this before, which resulted in a dry and blunt meat. Third “no” goes for the overall taste which left us nothing to remember for the amount of money we spent. We gave the service a hard time with the order and they were the only ones who actually coped in this place and did hardly any mistakes. Wouldn’t visit again for no reason.

It's a cozy place that's reasonably fine in there and the waiters pay attention to one. Besides, they're not out on the street to get people in either. The food was really good and the prices were reasonable, it's a place I would recommend and even come again. The best spare ribs I've got in Crete

The food isnt worth talking about, dry ribs, normal borring burger, a suflaki that didnt have any bite to it and a chicken as dry as the ribs🙈 Considering the price tag, that is abit higher then normal, the food should be better or match the service 😄

Do yourself a favor and visit this lovely restaurant in Platanias. The service is unmatched. The staff truly cares about your experience. The food is absolutely amazing – everything we tasted melted in other mouths. The Barbecue ribs are to die for. All in all i can say: It wasn't my first visit and it won't be my last! I recommend to everyone!

This was the place we had the best dinner in Platanias. The staff is super friendly, welcoming and fast. The food tasted amazing. The dishes have a great presentation, and you can identify the different flavors and high-quality ingredients. The cheese envelope and zucchini croquettes were unbelievable. Then we had a mousaka and lamb chops that were also delicious. Lastly, we were full but since everything was so tasty we got tempted with an orange pie as dessert, and that didn't disappoint as expected. The place is also super nice. I would definitely go back again.

We had a wonderful time at Stamna! The staff were incredibly friendly and service-minded, helping us find the perfect table even though we hadn’t made a reservation. The chairs were a bit small and not the most comfortable, but that was quickly forgotten once the food arrived. I had the carbonara and another guest had the Caesar salad — both dishes were delicious and we were very pleased with the quality. For dessert, we shared the chocolate soufflé with ice cream, which was easily one of the best desserts we had during our two-week stay. To top it all off, the bill came with complimentary raki and fresh melon. We’ll definitely be coming back!

Absolutely lovely restaurant. Food: Three of us went for a dinner, while my parents had sort of regular food - gyros and margherita pizza, I had the whole sea bass. The fish was perfectly cooked, the skin was tasty without it being oily. The inside was perfect. As sides I got the grilled vegetables and baby potatoes. The only thing I can say that the potatoes could've been creamier inside, but both of the sides tasted good. I ate everything. The pizza for the place being a regular restaurant was nice with a good cheese, for this cheaper price it's totally an enjoyable experience. The gyros was good too, pita soft, fries tasty, onion thinly sliced and thus delicious. Meat was perfect, tasty, tender. Staff: Every staff member we encountered were funny, outgoing, easy to speak with, understanding and kind. Joyful experience. Mood: Music was perfect, a light greek music with the perfect volume, just hearable without it bothering the talks. Tables are in good distance. The place is decorated with trees and slightly dim light, honestly the perfect for a dinner. Extras: I had a glass of red wine. Just the perfect body for meats and fish. They gave us some raki and dessert in the end as a gift of the house. I had the perfect dinner experience, 5 stars and would recommend!

We were there last night and had a fabulous experience. Second time of eating here too. The manager and waiters were just the best and made the night perfect and fun. The food was incredible, the staff were incredible and we would totally recommend everything about this place. The best on the strip! 😊👍❤️

Great experience! Nice traditional Greek food, we had excellent lamb stew and lamb chops. Really friendly athmosphere and nice waiters. Fun and friendly exlanations of the greek dishes. Nice complementary cake / melo plate and overly generous Raki shots after the dinner. We will be back!

Lovely family restaurant with friendly staff and excellent food! We enjoyed food here every day of our vacation. Food was well prepared, spiced and served. Waiters were fast. To each order delicious desert and raki for free. We will visit this restaurant again.

Super good, tasty food! Kind and humorous staff, made the experience even better. We got tzatziki and grilled bread as starters, the tzatziki really good, with the perfect amount of garlic! I ordered the ‘meatballs in tomato sauce’ and my mom ordered the stuffed peppers. Both were big portions, too big for us to finish. But if you’re hungry and looking for tasty food and a comfortable milieu, pay this restaurant a visit! With our check/bill we received a piece of cake or pie with ice cream, which is a big plus.

Amazing resturant with great food and friendly staff. The spare ribs were super tasty and tender. Waiter came by several times with the ouzo, always carrying a smile and some jokes. Got dessert on the house as well. Recommended!

Nice local restaurant with a mix of traditional greek foods and dishes from abroad so there's something for everybody. Food was tasty and the staff was very friendly and the reception was warm. The restaurant is located above street level so that brings a little more peace to the place while many restaurant are right next to the streets. I can recommend this restaurant for anyone.

The bread we got (and payed for) were stale and dry, the soda we got was dead with no fizz. Our spaghetti carbonara were oily and not at all creamy plus although the meny said it was with bacon it was in fact cheap ham. Pleasant staff - but our first waiter kept insisting to take a vodka shot, even though I was clear about us driving.

Food was nice- best gyros we had all week. Filled mushrooms were good. Service was attentive and prices reasonable. Sunset was lovely. The sweets at the end are unbelievable! Ice cream inside baklava?!?

Great spot, with a really nice beach. Beach chairs available at no cost, great restaurant with impeccable chicken souvlaki, and lovely draught beers. All very reasonably priced, and a nice free parking lot nearby. Highly recommend! As well the staff working on 20th August were top notch, super personable, welcoming and gave an excellent ice cream suggestion!

The grilled octopus was looking great but the texture was more boiled than grilled, I do not recommend it (the dish was not freshly cooked, the octopus was not hot, it was flasky, and humide, not from the grill). It comes with mashed peas curry, not for all tastes. The waiter was friendly and constantly asking if everything is ok, I liked that. The atmosphere is nice, great music, great view.

This is by far the cleanest restaurant I’ve been to, not just in Crete but anywhere. Anytime of the day this place is sparkling clean and that’s just one of the reasons I definitely visit it every time I am in the area. Year after after year the small and major updates are apparent but the feel and the people remain the same. The menu on the other hand is evolving, sometimes with greater steps while other year with a few new additions. The food quality is high and the quantities are more than fair for the price. I highly suggest the most tender Gyros I have ever had, the legumes salad which apart from nutritious is also super tasty and also the grilled vegetables with pesto sauce on top! I definitely recommend this place along with a swim at Platanias beach which located a few meters away!

An excellent experience. The food was absolutely delicious — we had pasta, stifado beef and mix grill. Everything was fresh, well-cooked, and served in very generous portions. The place was spotlessly clean and well-kept, with a beautiful sea view that made the atmosphere even more enjoyable. The staff was extremely polite and helpful, with fast service and a friendly attitude. We’ll definitely be back. 10/10!

The place and staff were nice. Our foods came quick and soon we found out why. It weren’t the best food you can find. The chicken gyros was quite different what other places offer. Chicken was not the traditional gyros chicken but chewy chicken fillets that tasted curry. I do not recommend this place. Other places next door are much better. And if you care to walk little bit further you find much better places.

Absolutely loved the atmosphere at Carpe Diem. The location is unbeatable, right by the sea with stunning views, perfect for a romantic dinner. The music was tasteful and at just the right volume, adding to the laid-back vibe without overpowering conversation. A perfect mix of great food, clean surroundings, and a beautiful vibe.
