We visited for my hubby's birthday. On arrival rhey very kindly put up a birthday balloon and banner for him. Lovely gesture but that was the only good thing along with a polite waitress that served us. Curry arrived piping hot and did look delicious, waitress did her check after just one mouthful so you couldn't really say if was ok. I personally had lamb balti, meat was hard to even cut. And to chew was impossible. My husband had chicken tandoori and asked before he decided was it off the bone and was told yes. His bite was chicken cartridge. Then followed by bone chippings. Needless to say he couldnt eat it. He took a bite from his keema chilli nan and it was coated in chilli powder and again couldn't eat. He enjoys hot food with a kick but this was red hot. The rice wasn't cooked correctly. Chunks stuck together. When we informed the waitress the food was inedible. They said you can have 25% the manger said. Yes obviously we need to pay for the drinks. But paying for food that was eaten is not I would say good customer service. We had high expectations from this curry house. Travelled to go but we won't be repeating this dining experience again.

After eating at their sister venue, Banarasi for few times, we were in the area and decided to give this a go to, and was definitely just as impressed. Same good level of service, great quality standards for their curries, and cleanliness. Very happy to see that 2 places are not falling below expectations and they both deliver same experience. I have just eaten here with a colleague whilst away in Leek on business. There is a great choice on the menu and all at a reasonable price. The food was delicious and flavoursome and with decent portions too. The service throughout was also excellent. I would definitely return here if I am in Leek again and would certainly recommend to others too.

Nice curries, tender meat and good flavours. They were good enough to deliver quite some way out, which was appreciated, although we did try to order for 6pm, which was bumped to 6:30pm, and then finally delivered at 6:45pm. We were happy with the quality of the food when it arrived though. We had vegetable massala and their Bombay Deluxe special with rice, in case that helps.

Best curry house around. Absolutely love Pabna, food is always spot on and cooked tp perfection always fresh. Service is second to none from every member of staff from the moment you step through the door. Beautifully decorated. Never go anywhere else. They went above and beyond for our recent visit for daughters birthday too.

I made a very last minute booking for my son’s birthday. Was surprised to arrive to balloons and banners at the table, and even a complimentary desert for the birthday boy. The staff were attentive and welcoming, and the food was the best we’ve had in a long time! There’s absolutely nothing negative i could say about our visit. We have ordered take out many times but this is our first dining in visit. Will definitely be visiting again soon! Thankyou!

Based purely on the fact that I ordered a takeaway/ Delivery online, and then around an hour later The order was cancelled stating they don’t deliver to my area. Well, according to UberEats they do. I now have to wait for a refund And source food elsewhere

One of the best Sunday roasts we've ever had, hands down. Everything was cooked to perfection, the flavors were rich and comforting, and the staff made us feel right at home. Can’t recommend Duck & Goose enough. We’ll be back!

What an amazing meal my daughter and myself were fortunate to taste this evening. Although the burgers for 2 with 3 sides looked amazing. We went for this weeks special menu. We both ordered the starter, main and dessert. Oh my goodness it didn't disappoint. The taste, flavours appearance absolutely outstanding. Not one plate returned empty, absolutely divine.

Extremely friendly, great food at a reasonable price. They found a table for us at 1.00pm on a Sunday when they appeared to be fully booked, provided four great Sunday lunches (two vegetarian) and one of the best roast beef sandwiches I’ve had. Couldn’t be better!

Fantastic food and great options for vegetarians (very talented chef) , great service, excellent cocktails and a fair price for the quality of food. Our favorite place to visit and a rare find. Would highly reccomend. Looking forward to future visits.

The staff were absolutely lovely. They were very patient. Great menu offered great choices with the wine and also great menu suggestions the food was top-notch. Even allowed me to swap pasta.

First time at Primo but came well recommended. Lovely intimate setting & the food was some of the best Italian dishes I’ve tasted in awhile. Starters of tiger prawns on sourdough & mains of chicken in a cheese sauce salmon & pork belly with black pudding were fantastic. Philippa waited on us brilliantly & Complimenrs to the chef who I believe was Darren. Top notch.

A beautiful Italian restaurant offering gluten free dishes. We saw many locals/regulars whilst we were there enjoying traditional dishes such as lasagne. As a coeliac and lover of seafood, I hugely enjoyed the fish stew which was plentiful and flavoured with Nduja sausage. They offered Warburtons gluten free square rolls as a substitute where bread was included in dishes. Could not fault any of the food! My husband enjoyed the pork belly and leek sausage. A gluten free lemon tart was available also and was delicious!

Wow.What a find!!! Told about this place by locally based family. The food was simply superb.My wife had crab fishcakes with prawns (her comment Amazing).I had stuffed mushrooms again amongst the best I've ever. A pizza & lasagne followed really great. Staff were very helpful especially Alice who grated us with a lovely smile and attentive service. Book before you go it's busy as more and more people discover this gem.

Had a meal at Primo last night and as always it was absolutely outstanding, the food, the service, the staff, it was all faultless, from the moment we arrived to the moment we left the staff were friendly & attentive, the food was superb, I highly recommend the seabass tortellini 🤤. I cannot rate this place highly enough.

Bella. OK, it's about as Italian as me. Nevertheless, it is great. A team of super-efficient friendly women run this small and cosy Italian themed upstairs restaurant. The food and service are simply fantastic.

Had the best Sunday roast today that I've had in years - top class. Tasty, decent sized, well-cooked and great value for money. Its upstairs in a quaint, ancient building with an amazingly spacious dining room which has a cosy atmosphere. You must try this place.

We are so glad we found this restaurant. Didn't need to book. Walk in tables available. The staff were incredibly attentive to customers. Didn't have to wait long for the food and it was delicious. Ordered a few dishes to share. Mainly seafood and 1 chicken Pad Thai. All of it beautiful. Would definitely go back here again and recommend dining in.

We stayed in leek for one night. I was looking online for places to eat and came across this place. Happy to say it lived up to its reviews. Great Thai food and service.

I went to this restaurant last night for my very first time and I have never eaten anywhere in Leek where I have come away with absolutely no complaints. We were served by a lovely man who provided really quick service. Our starters came out really quickly and were piping hot , as well as absolutely delicious. I had a chicken main, my friend had a steak main and we shared rice and noodles and everything was cooked to perfection, the chicken was moist and the rice and noodles had lots of flavour. The lovely lady (I think the owner of the establishment?) came out of the kitchen and spoke to us about what we like to then return with a complimentary curry dish which was absolutely incredible. We were that full they boxed up our leftovers to take home with us which I think was a really nice touch. The bill was also really reasonable and to be honest I would have happily paid more for it as it was really worth it. Overall great service, friendly staff and absolutely beautiful food. Will definitely be returning very soon!

Lovely place, nice calm atmosphere, friendly staff, unfortunately our food took quite some time to come out after ordering, this is the reason for 4 stars on service, but when the food arrived it was delicious! Really tasty, great portion sizes, great pricing! Happy days! ☺️

Fantastic authentic Thai food! I had a dinner here when visiting Leek for a short break. The food was delicious and staff very nice. Both me and my partner enjoyed our meal and especially the coconut rice we shared. We wished we were staying in the area longer so we could visit this local gem again.

Superb in every way, staff are friendly and the food is excellent fresh, hot and plentiful. We had the set menu A for 2 and it was lovely. Excellent value for money too.

First time visiting here as the Spice Merchant to celebrate my Hubby's birthday in October with our family. Great dining experience from start to finish. All our our meals were so delicious. The staff are so friendly and they provided excellent service. The restaurant has been decorated nicely with all new tables & chairs and accessories. I mentioned on the booking form it was my hubby's birthday and they actually proved us with his birthday cake free of charge which was such a lovely surprising gesture. Will definitely be returning in the near future.

Fantastic restaurant, the service was excellent very friendly and helpful. We were welcomed and seated very quickly. We were given plenty of time to order when our food arrived it was delicious, from the starters to our mains. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting leek.

We were served by Shim and it was a lovely atmosphere and a great experience. Had starters and drinks followed by mains very smoothly and we barely had to wait more than 10 minutes for food. Highly highly recommend

Always absolutely lovely food and great service. The couple that run this restaurant are so lovely we even had a free meatball dish last night, which was something else - divine. Best curry house in Leek 5 star.

Really amazing Indian restaurant. I've eaten in Indian restaurants at least once a week for 30 years (I am from Birmingham so it is the law), and this is one of the best. Even when it is busy, the food and service are excellent. The spicy dishes (e.g. traditional vindaloo) are genuinely spicy, but all the dishes are packed with flavour (I recommend the Bangladeshi Lamb, not a spicy dish, but absolutely incredible). Edit: I am very sorry to have to edit my review. Tonight I ordered from the takeaway section of the restaurant (we turned up, ordered, and waited) and we had a very different experience form eating in. I ordered a vindaloo and my wife a Madras. However, when we got them home it turned out we had been given exactly the same curry. Mine had some added potatoes (not necessary in a vindaloo but seems to be a British tradition) and some extra red curry powder, it seems, but otherwise they were absolutely identical. The taste was identical. (I include a photo of the two side by side.) One had "vindaloo" written on the top and the other had "madras" written on the top. So it wasn't that they had accidentally given us both a vindaloo or both a madras. And anyway, the vindaloo didn't taste like a vindaloo and the madras didn't taste like a madras. They both just tasted like a generic curry. My suspicion is that they are basically cooking one curry then adding some extra ingredients to make them into a 'vindalloo' or a 'madras' or whatever else. But, a vindaloo and a Madras (and other curries) are entirely different things and should be cooked differently. The vindaloo and the madras originate from regions almost 1000 miles apart! Anyway, I am very disappointed. I did expect better from this restaurant. I thought I had found a decent curry house in Leek. But if this is the standard now, my quest must continue.

The food was very nice, but did not match the price, (for the area and dining comparisons in Leek) in was on the high end. The service wasn't great, it was more fitting with a greasy spoon and really didn't match the pricing The decor also did not match the pricing it was pretty basic and really killed the atmosphere. As a party of four we had two pizzas and two Vodka penne both of which were lovely. Two of the group had pop and this was served at room temp out of cans. Overall, we enjoyed our night but will not be returning. Also, booked a table but the staff were not expecting us, suggesting they do not check their diary and it took a minute for the server to seat us despite it being very quiet, just lacked preparation for the evening and a general lack of knowledge of his surroundings.

Don’t let the outside of this little gem fool you. I waited three years to try this wonderful place and when I finally did, I was sad I waited so long. While the menu isn’t large, it shouldn’t have to be of the food is done right. The starters I’ve tried so far were all delicious, the marinara sauce that the arancini is served is absolutely incredible- dare I say, the best I’ve had outside Italy. The pastas that I’ve tried are also really great. Now let’s talk about the pizza… Absolutely fantastic. Bar none, the best pizza in Leek. Tons of options. Made to order. They even have a 20 inch option - which you have to call ahead for and pick up as they don’t have a delivery bag big enough and because of the sheer size it takes up an entire pizza oven. We ordered a 20 inch one evening and happily picked it up and, I can say, bigger is in fact better! No matter what you order, whether it’s dine in or takeaway, Alberto’s is an amazing place to eat and I suggest, if you haven’t already, you try it. Or don’t and then maybe it won’t be so busy when I do want to go in!

Ime posting this a bit late but I came here just under 2 months ago and the food was amazing the lady who served us was such a nice woman the interior was perfect and we didn’t book just walked in and they managed to get us a table Only managed to get a pic of the starter I also had a pizza that was delicious but I ate it straight away beautiful place look forward to coming again and trying the lasagna

I've been eating at Alberto's almost since he opened his restaurant in 2019. I go at least once a fortnight with my wife, have tried most of his pizzas and pastas and love them. Consistently brilliant - we've never had anything less than a perfect meal. Alberto's can get busy (particularly on a Friday or Saturday) so you might need to factor that in but there are no pizzas anywhere that come close.

Alberto and his team are fantastic! Real homemade authentic pizza, original recipes and sauces, it’s all so good and for me the option of ordering gluten-free pizza makes it even better! If you enjoy pizza you must try Alberto’s!

Alberto’s Kitchen was amazing. My boyfriend and I had spent the day at Alton Towers and were staying close by and stumbled across Alberto’s. It’s small inside so make sure you book. The food was amazing. There are no words to describe the pizza. We had garlic bread to start, then I had the Roby and Jonny had the North Italy pizza - so the a side of halloumi fries to share. The staff were outstanding, the service was quick and the atmosphere was lovely and relaxing. Will be returning the next time we are down in Leek. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

My Birthday treat on the 14th January off my partner at the Leek Bar & Grill was really enjoyable. We had looked at this place in summer and asked if dogs were welcome? They are happy for dogs to accompany you in the large restaurant it's a bit like a very lage conservatory or orangery. Very nice very comfortable 3 different girls served us all were very friendly and helpful. Food was gorgeous Brie and Feta starters - really good then Chicken salad with side of fries and Mixed Grill Platter with side of sweet potato salad. Plenty of food really tasty all dishes very fresh and well presented. We really enjoyed it and will definitely be back. Diana & Steve from Stone

Great find for lunch. Both DH and I enjoyed our sandwiches (mozza panini w salad and halloumi wrap w chips) and DH his coffee. Quieter, mature customers made for a pleasant experience. Live a ways away, but if ever in the area in the future, would stop again.

Finding the restaurant while out for the day, the menu looked enticing so we decided to give it a try. We were greeted with a smile at the door and once ordered, the food came very quickly. Complements to the chef, the food was sensational! Mine the vegetarian Moussaka, my partner, the mixed platter. Both extremely tasty and artistically arranged on the plates. Photographs to show. When back in the area, we will be sure to dine there again.

Great little place hidden away off the high street, feels a bit special. Will definitely be going back for more of their excellent food, coffee and ambience.

Amazing. Found this place by accident and decided to give it a go. Light and airy restaurant and very comfortable/relaxing. Lunch menu had an amazing choice of dishes, breakfast is only served till 10 (but again a great choice of dishes). The dishes we ordered turned up quickly and obviously freshly prepared, with all fresh ingredients. Definitely will visit again, and perhaps for dinner too.

We visited on 'steak night' and we were pleasantly surprised how good it was for the price. The steaks are a little tough but they're nicely seasoned and cooked perfectly. Beer was ice cold

Food looked great, but sadly had to send back due to cold chips....come on this is basics. Disappointing will try other food places in the area from now on.

A really wonderful spoons. It looks quite new or recently refurbished. There's lot's of seating inside and out. There's lot of choice on the menu with something for everyone, including vegetarians. It's easy to order on the app or at the bar if you prefer. Our food came fairly quickly and was hot and well prepared. There's high street carpark around the corner, which is free after 3.30pm.

Lovely pub, great service, staff are friendly. It is wheelchair and pram friendly through the beer garden. Lots of high chairs available. Baby changing facilities are very accessible. We didn't have any food just a drink but they were very helpful and the service was quick. The toilets are REALLY nice as well.

Four of us called in early afternoon, and it is such a well converted pub, it's well set up with multiple rooms all nicely furnished. The bar is well stocked plenty of cask beers we all chose differently off the menu & all food was delivered quickly & really good. Cask beer was excellent and here I would have been very surprised if it had been poor it's clearly very well run & staff so friendly.

This place used to be an easy 5/5 and is still a brilliant spoons in a lovely town. Recently though, the tables don't get cleared as quickly and, like other spoons, the removal of steaks and grills from the menu is absolute gutter! Head office need to give them a few more people and put the Steaks and grills back on, even if we have to pay a couple of quid more.

It was very quite when we came to this historical old pub, in 1693 it was called the Green Dragon then in 1783 became the Swan & the swan with 2 necks, apparently a neck was a notch probably in the beak to denote ownership. Old beams have been revealed showing yet more characters and features Had a Traditional breakfast which came out fairly quickly and was what was expected from Spoons. Nice coffee whilst listening to the peal of church bells. Steps at the front door but there is a accessible entrance at the rear, No car park and toilets upstairs and an accessible toilet on the ground floor

Staff were extremely rude from the outset, and I tried to order at the bar multiple times only to be told they were helping other people. I wanted to take a picture of the bar, but they told me no photos. That’s fine, if it is an actual policy, which should be written. I mean, seriously, when are photos not allowed to be taken of a bar?? Honestly I think I rubbed someone the wrong way at the outset when I tried to order at the bar downstairs which I was told is not a bar. Or maybe they just don’t like Americans. Who knows… I left without getting a drink. Most likely they are so popular they just don’t care if one customer doesn’t get a beer and leaves. I won’t be back. Too bad since I had met another person at the Blue Mugge who worked there and said it was a good place. Oh well.

Nice meal here as a big group. Good selection of drinks and the food menu was good but a little overpriced in places compared to other pubs we have been to.

Overall a nice traditional olde pub style feel with a good centre of town location. Visited for dinner whilst on a work trip. Had a very generous portion of Ham, egg, and chips, which was great. Service was great too, and there was live music as well. Think there's an outside space too, but didn't get the chance to have a look. Would definitely return if ever in Leek again.

Nice comfortable pub with a large selection of Titanic Brewery ales (brewed down the road in Stoke), plus a couple of guest ales. Had the Totally Leek Burger which was just £7.95 for a very tasty burger garnished with cheese, bacon and salad, along with fries and onion rings - all sourced as locally as possible. A modest portion but really good quality and perfect for lunch.

Titanic brewery pub. Olde worlde with history and beams. Tudor style. What more can I say? Two versions of Plum Porter -nitro and regular. Equally delicious. Great staff and the food looks great too.

It was lovely. Great service and friendly staff. Wasn't busy when we went. New menu and price changes, good selection of beers ciders lagers and spirits, as well as lots of soft drinks, they have had new screens on the till, so you can see what you have ordered plus your titanic card points. The totally local burger is very small for the price. We get the bacon and cheese burger instead. However the quality of food is well worth the prices, tried the salmon fishcakes on Tuesday very good. The staff are very friendly especially Joe, he's a lovely mannered young man and nothing is too much trouble for him.

Visiting my brother in Leek. We popped in after finding out that they have real ales and a 5* food hygiene rating. We tried the Plum Porter which was nice. We decided to look at the menu and ordered the Steak Pie for myself and the Fish and Chips for my Brother. The Steak Pie is the best i've tasted in a long time, nice and rich! I would've prefered mash instead of chips. My brother said the Fish and Chips were nice and light. We both would dine there again.

Wonderful place! Went for a birthday meal with family, food and service was amazing! It was busy but we didn't have to shout to hear eachother. Food was done perfectly and arrived fairly quickly, 100% would recommend to friends and will definitely be returning soon.

I’ve been for lunch a number of times and it never disappoints. Excellent home cooked food. Lovely polite staff with and nice atmosphere. Pre booking a lunch time table is a must as it can get busy.

We visited The Blue Mugge yesterday during my trip to the peak district. We were welcomed by the lovely staff, they were very friendly and welcoming. The pub requires pre-booking which I wasn't aware of as they are quite busy everyday. Despite the fact we didn't have a booking the staff managed to get us a table after some time. The pub had a selection of dishes which was hard to choose. I was amazed at the fact that they had a vegan/vegetarian menu also. The food was delicious, I would highly recommend to pop in for a drink or food in a lovely atmosphere ☺️

I'm not really a pub type of person but this place was booked and the food was great, not over priced,didn't have to wait long,staff friendly too. Would recommend the meat and potato pie with chips.

A local of the family's, this pub is a fun place to drink. Well priced drinks and a quality dart board set up resulted in a brilliant evening.

Visited Naz on 26/10/2024, and while the food was good, the experience was completely ruined by the man at the billing counter. From the moment we entered, he greeted us with rudeness, questioning why we had come and where we were going. This is supposed to be a restaurant, not a car dealership! Are customers coming to Naz to buy cars or take out loans? It was truly baffling and insulting from the start. The waiter who served our table was excellent—attentive, polite, and delivered great customer service. However, the man at the counter was the opposite, treating us with disdain and disrespect. After we finished our meal, I went to pay by card, only to be met with a question: “You work at a care home, right?” said with an insulting tone and a demeaning look. When I clarified that I don’t work in a care home and told him my actual profession, he continued with that same sneering look and smirk. If I were in a care job, is that something to insult? Care assistants and care workers do honorable work, and every job has its own dignity. This kind of behavior is unacceptable in any establishment, let alone in an Indian restaurant where customers expect a welcoming environment. The management at Naz should seriously invest in proper training for their staff. Rudeness and insults should not be the face of any restaurant, yet that’s exactly what this billing counter employee represented. Overall, despite the food being nice, the experience left me feeling deeply disrespected and offended. I’ll never return to Naz, and I strongly advise others to think twice before dining somewhere that tolerates such poor treatment of customers. 🙏

We always enjoy visiting Naz for a top quality curry and a good chat with the owners and staff. Food has always been excellent and the service is second to none. They have an amazing selection of whisky - not just run of the mill stuff - some very rare bottlings. The restaurant is clean and the toilets are spotless. Highly recommend!

We turned up without a reservation but they managed to squeeze us in. A restaurant with plenty of ‘bling’ factor, the service was attentive and the food excellent!

The environment was very charming and possible. The quality of the food was beautiful - the dishes were different, the touch of nature and care. The behavior of the staff was very polite and advanced. Definitely a place to spend time with the family. I am very satisfied and will come again InshaAllah."

Me n my family came here jus by chance but i have to say the food was wonderful..perfectly spiced and the meats were so soft n tender..the waiter was very polite n attentive..would definitely recommend..good job lads, keep up the good work

Having read the review about the cashiers comments about care workers ill never go to this place again as my wife is a care worker shocking

One of the worst if is not THE worst experience with food. Waiting 35 minutes just to get the drinks ( one cappuccino and a glass of tap water ) their excuse was the printer was not working, but people coming after us was served quicker. We ordered the fluffy American style pancakes, if you can even call them that (picture). They were as dry as ghandi’s slipper on a hot day. After to be served nobody came to us asking if everything was okay ( maybe around 6 peoples working there ) we should’ve complained directly to them but didn’t want to waste more time.

Nice atmosphere and enjoyed our drinks. However I was disappointed with my food. They display a vegan option for the Shroomentine. This was advertised as hollandaise sauce, mushrooms and poached egg. I thought perfect! It will be a veganised version of that. When it came it had egg and dairy hollondaise sauce on so i had to send it back. My family had to eat without me and then 10-mins later the vegan one came out. But this was just some mushrooms on a bagel, no hollandaise sauce substitution and no scrambled Tofu or add on to replace the egg. I was still charged the same price and felt this was not right. They gave me a £3 cash refund which I still felt wasn't acceptable for a few mushrooms on a bagel. You could get bacon on a brioche bun with fried egg for that price. I was looking forward to my visit but left disappointed and still hungry. However, the atmosphere was nice and I enjoyed the coffee. I just feel the food was overpriced for what I got.

A quirky nice place to be. The Starter were delish. We had some things which we missed at the mains, it was no problem to say this as she was glad to have some comments personally which I liked and made a natural flair to the Situation.The orange almond cake as dessert was the hit. Highly recommend Spout Brew House. 👍

What a delightful visit this was. Stopped by for brunch and was welcomed by the owner, Ruth. Very chatty and friendly. The food was very tasty, fresh and reasonably priced. My cappuccino was lush too. Amazing choice of decor and colour schemes. Very well put together.

We have visited this Chip Shop in the past, and it was always ok, however this time the food was not great, the fish smelt very fishy which would indicate it's not the freshest it could be, and it was soaking in oil and that was all you could taste. The oil it had been cooked in was clearly not hot enough as the batter was very soggy too, the sausage chips and curry sauce was ok. portion sizes were a tad on the smaller side my fish was supposed to be a large one and it was no bigger than a normal fish that is served elsewhere ! I am not a greedy person at all but I was very hungry so I ordered the large fish, and I left feeling hungry still. I suggest that the owner does some research and visits Murgatroyds up in Leeds and see what a Large fish actually looks like.

I have been going to Monty’s Fish and Chip Shop in Leek Market Square for over 15 years, and I can say with complete sincerity that it is one of the best fish and chip shops in the world. From the very first time I discovered Monty’s, I knew it was something special. The quality of the fish and chips is consistently exceptional—the fish is always unbelievably fresh, encased in perfectly crisp, golden batter that is never greasy. The chips are spot on every time: fluffy inside, just the right amount of crunch outside. Over the years, I’ve brought countless family members, friends, and even my students here. Every single person has agreed: these are the best fish and chips they’ve ever tasted. What makes Monty’s truly stand out is not just the food, but the genuine care and passion of the owner, Keith, who takes enormous pride in his restaurant. Whether you’re sitting down for a proper meal or grabbing a takeaway, you’re treated with warmth and excellent service. I’ve sampled fish and chips all over England—including many famous seaside spots—but nothing comes close to Monty’s. In my opinion, it is perfection in every way. If you try it yourself, I am certain you will not disagree. This place is a true gem, and I feel lucky to have enjoyed it for so many years. Highly recommended.

Ordered some fish and chips via our nearby campsite who offers the service and was impressed with Monty’s reviews. They placed our order for us and spoke highly of them, but when it arrived there was a pool of oil in the bottom of the bag and it was all cold. The staff had just collected it and brought it straight back for us , so I understand this may be the delay that made it cold. However, the large chips was a normal tray size and the large fish was a weird shape meaning it was thin and really flat in comparison to normal chip chop fish and the peas were really bland. It was ok, but nothing to rave about and I don’t think we’ll order again.

I popped in today for a quick bite to eat on my way home. It was quite busy but the service was very acceptable. The staff were friendly and where I day was very clean. The fish and chips were lovely and filling. Will definitely pop in again.

Visited Monty’s Fish and Chips in Leek Market Square on the recommendation of Dr. Salim – and he was absolutely spot on. The fish was perfectly cooked, the chips were crisp and golden, and the portion sizes were generous. The location in the heart of Leek Market Square adds to the charm – a lovely spot to enjoy a traditional meal. Highly recommended if you’re in the area. Filling and healthy portion of fish and chips. All fried separate from meat - been searching like crazy. All staff very helpful and friendly. Two large cod with three large chips fed five very hungry stomachs. All, not the stomachs, cooked fresh on order. Great value suggested by the older member of staff. The syrup pudding with custard highly recommended, but with cream just as delicious. They take bookings, so hoping to have our last supper Saturday night.

Had the lunch special of small fish, chips & peas with a mug of tea for £8.50. My partner had the pie lunch special. Both meals were of adequate portion size, freshly cooked and served in the cafe area by very friendly and pleasant staff. The place was spotlessly clean. For the price we paid and the taste and quality of the food we were very satisfied and will definitely recommend and return.

It has a nice beer garden that I’m sure would be lovely in summer, and it had lots of interesting memorabilia to look at too — I just didn’t get the best vibe from the place, but it might have just been an off day

A very lovely visit to leek , first time at cock inn and me and my family were served by a young lady with bleach blonde hair . Great customer service with a great smile really friendly. Would reccomend anyone to go to this pub and be greeted amazingly. Very big thank you to you.

Visited at 8pm on a Saturday night and the pub was empty. May have something to do with overbearing smell of damp as soon as you enter. Gets worse towards the toilets where the stench of urine made you gag. They need to lift those old quarry tiles and replace with something more practical. Shame as this is a lovely old pub, just seems to have gone down bank in recent times.

The pub has a lot of character and a great selection of drinks. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. However, there was a strong smell of dampness in the bar. I understand that this is an old building and dampness can be a problem. I also run a business in an older property and we purchased a dehumidifier. The difference it made to the smell was incredible. I would recommend that you purchase a dehumidifier. Thank you for your time.

A really nice little old Joule’s pub in the heart of Leek. Got all the Joule’s ales if that’s to your liking, beer garden is a good enough size (I counted about 9 tables, a couple under a shade, one under a permanent wooden shade) if you enjoy your pint in the open air, if you can visit during the off peak, it’s a surprisingly quiet and relaxing place to enjoy good ale (although do keep in mind I popped in for a half pint at 2pm on a sunny Monday so it being quiet and not busy goes without saying 😂).

A cosy pub in the middle of Leek, decent priced drinks and a lots of nooks to sit in. Has a decent sized beer garden also.

We called in whilst passing through Leek and we are really glad we did! Efficient, friendly service and we were ordering take-away full English breakfasts which were packaged so well and with great care. We were surprised at the speed too in which they were made. Really great experience and would not hesitate to come back or recommend to others. It was obvious other customers were enjoying their meals too from the feedback we heard.

Turned up here for a Saturday morning breakfast bap and a coffee. The pricing was very reasonable for the size of the meal, and the coffee was good. The speed at which I was served was second to none.. by the time I had had chance to view the maps on the wall I was being asked where I was sitting for my food.. Absolutely cracking job ladies!keep up the good work!

Never had such a bad breakfast, I can't believe we passed at all of the other breakfast places and ended up here only to be disappointed. The scrambled eggs were overdone, the sausages anaemic, the bacon barely crispy, no mushrooms, grilled tomato's ended up being 4 microwaves baby plum tomato's, not enough butter for the toast, and when we asked for brown sauce between us we were given the smallest pot of brown sauce. Never again

Avoid unless you like awful quality microwaved cheap food. Never had such a bad breakfast. Hash browns must have been browner than David Dickinson! Eggs hard and slimey. The only benefit of us being there was to warn the lovely family on the table opposite.

Great place. I've been a couple of times now but this time I came with my nephew who is coeliac. They were great in accommodating gluten-free for him. Service is always polite and friendly.

One of the best cafes I've been to only ordered food to takeout so far but with the many choices of tray bakes, scones and savoury bits on offer I will definitely be sitting in on my next visit.

Picked this coffee shop as looked appealing. The food and coffee were good so no worries there. The service unfortunately left a lot to be desired. Not sure if they were short staffed as they seemed a little stressed. Our food order was wrong although we accepted it as it seemed easier than making them take it back, and in any case we enjoyed it. Another table also had an issue with their order. The ladies were friendly and engaging but the young lad who I assume was training as he was constantly being given instructions needed to sort himself out. When he brought ours and other tables food he didn't speak or engage at all. He seemed somewhat lifeless and it gave a poor impression. Hopefully he will get better, but interaction with customers is a must for any business. The premises were clean and inviting so that was good. Clearly the place is popular as there was a steady stream of customers both take away and dining in.

Not impressed I'm afraid. I ordered a cake & drink of cola, to consume in the cafe area, plus two cakes to take home. I paid for everything but wasn't given a receipt. I sat at a table & waited for my order. The table was cluttered with dirty crockery, crumbs, suger & what looked like milky coffee - I hastened to add that the only other tables available were in a similar state. The floor under every table was filthy - ended up with slippery food on the soles of my shoes !!. I started to think I had made a big mistake in coming into the cafe ! I don't like to pick my way through bits of food that should have been cleaned up as soon as the tables occupants had left the table. The final frustration was that my cake order hadn't been boxed up & the two young women behind the counter had brief 'words', one clearly recalling my paid for order & the other not recalling a word of the conversation the three of us had had 15 minutes before. I didn't have a receipt to show the fair haired girl my proof of purchase. These girls need supervision & a clear brief of what is expected of them when in work. Both were quite pleasant but communication between them needs work, as well as a reminder about hygiene & health & safety. However, can I say, the cakes & flapjack were delicious.

Fabulous food and amazing service. We have previously had a few takeaways which have been great, but ate in for the first time tonight. Atmosphere was great - love the contemporary decor. Staff are attentive and engaging. Cannot fault this restaurant and will continue to support. Thank you for a really enjoyable evening.

We arrived to a warm welcome from all the staff. We had poppadoms with relish tray this contained the nicest homemade lemon raita ever ! We ate a selection of starters and curries from the 'chef speciality range', the flavours were exceptional ! 👌 The service from the staff was five star. Drinks arrived promptly and food was served in a delightful manner with descriptions & clear deliverance 👏. This was truly a five star experience 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟

Ordered from here last night, knew it had a 1 star food hygiene rating but ordered from here because it was recommended. Glad I did… it was phenomenal. The rice was delicious, ordered the Singapore Fried Rice, the meat was lovely, big cuts of NON processed char su. The meat tasted really fresh which is unusual for a Chinese. The rice was fluffy, the veg still had crunch, the satay sauce didn’t develop the traditional microwaved skin that most takeaways supply. The veg spring rolls were crispy and the prawn crackers were fresh and crispy. Asked for chopsticks and they kindly supplied at no extra charge, and they were the environmentally friendly bamboo variety. I’ve worked in food my entire adult life and it’s hard to get anything less than a 5 star, nor is there any excuse to get less than a 5 star. However that being said, we all have bad days and in my opinion they got really really unlucky because their food is exceptional and easily the best Chinese food I’ve had. Would highly recommend and will definitely be going back.

Ordered from here whilst camping near by food was amazing probably one of the best I've had for the price. Very reasonable price the portions were large more than ample for two people and had leftover. Only reason to a 5 star rating was we waited 1hr 25 minutes for delivery however it was worth it .

Terrible service. Never going here again. FoodHub said 1hr wait time which is fine but we waited nearly 2 hours and called numerous times so we asked to cancel the order but they said “you can’t cancel your order because it’s with the driver” luckily we chose cash payment option and driver took the food back. The person on the other end of the phone was just a child!! and when we asked to speak to the boss we were told “the boss is busy.” The child kept just kept saying things like “all the other people have to wait” and “we are busy” etc. I’ve had plenty of takeaways in my years and this is by far the worst service I’ve ever had

What a wonderful little restaurant serving delicious food. One man doing it all and it was the nicest experience. The decor is warm and cosy, service was outstanding. We booked and pre-ordered in advance. Between us, we had spiced lamb sausage with kulcha bread, Argentinean steak with dauphinoise potato, jerk chicken with Mac n cheese, raspberry cheesecake with fudge ice cream and chocolate pot with stroopwaffel. All the food was fantastic, lamb sausage was piping hot with a tasty pomegranate molasse dressing. Potatoes that went with the steak was excellent, was asked which type of mustard I wanted to go with the steak, that was a lovely touch. The chocolate pot is a must, really dark and rich. Lovely way to end an meal. I definitely want to visit again.

Absolute gem of a find, my only regret is not having found this place sooner. Wonderful refined food cooked and served by a lovely personable chef who went above and beyond to ensure we were happy and made a lovely effort to get to know us. I'm just flabbergasted that it wasn't busier. If you have a refined palette and enjoy more than the average that leek has to offer, this is the place. Trust me, coming from London it's been a hard slog finding a decent restaurant, but this has been the answer to our prayers to the foodie gods. We ( my family and I) will be smashing this place henceforth ☺️🐷😁)

Absolutely Superb What a fantastic place The Street Grill is. 4 of us visited yesterday evening and had a wonderful time. Great vibrant atmosphere, superb host in Billy and the most amazing food. I can honestly say the Argentinian Rump Heart Steak was the BEST steak I have ever eaten, can’t stop thinking about it 🤣Add to this a delicious starter and scrumptious pud , 3 courses of pure delight. Would I go again? Most definitely and I would highly recommend anyone who wants a delicious meal at a very reasonable price in a quirky but delightful setting to visit Billy at The Street Grill! HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Quite simply the most wonderful food Leek has to offer. This quaint and intimate restaurant serves absolutely phonomenal food and at very reasonable prices. There are only 3 tables (of varying sizes), the food is cooked just behind you. It's locally sourced and freshly prepared & cooked. The proprietor is the chef, his passion for his business is obvious; the quality of service matches the first class food. I really can't speak higher of this place, it's incredible. If you eat meat, you should try the steak, you won't regret it. The cheesecake is also not to be missed!

First time. Met a friend for coffee, nice, relaxed atmosphere, staff very friendly and warm. Service isn't the fastest, but if you're not in a rush it is good. I only had a decaf, due to fasting, friend who is Gluten free, had the breakfast, she was it was delicious and tasty. I would come back again.

Love this cafe - it has a nice upstairs area with more seating (including some comfy chairs and sofas). I have had sandwiches and oatcakes here in the past and both have been good. Tea is always really nice here - they have a loose leaf tea which is very good. The cakes are excellent too, definitely recommend. The only improvement I would make is to speed up the food service a little (not too much, doesn't need to be super fast), but the food service is very slow so you can't go there if you're in a hurry!

The food here is delicious and it's presented really nicely! I had a vegetarian mezze platter which was really fresh and tasty and had so much going on! The prices are very reasonable so I had change to try a chocolate scone which was served warm with all the extras, I'd recommend trying one of those. The interior was really cosy and welcoming and the staff were really friendly. I left so full and happy, can't fault a thing, I'll be back soon.

Truly exceptional in every way. The staff were extremely friendly and seemed eager to explain the wide range of food and drink available. My girlfriend had a mango tango tea while I had a banofee milkshake to drink. We both agreed that our drinks were extremely tasty. To eat, I had the quiche of the day (ham and mushroom) while my girlfriend had a panini. Both dishes came on pleasant wooden trays with a variety of extras, and were delicious. Highly recommended, I would come again.

The best sourdough in Leek and its surrounds. I got the country sourdough - flavourful & a good colour on the crust. Told the friendly young man the loaf was all I’d be getting & paid up, only to stop dead at the alluring sight of the raspberry donuts. He cheerfully rang up the addition, but the donut disappeared too quickly down my hatch & I failed to get a picture😋 Outstanding & I’ll definitely be returning🌟

I did a sourdough baking course here and it exceeded my expectations in every way. The tuition was excellent and the bread we baked (and they baked) was delicious. Garry and Matt are both passionate teachers who clearly know their craft exceptionally well and want to share their knowledge with others. There’s even a chance to ask questions afterwards, they really do care about helping you on your baking journey!

I attended a sourdough course here, just above the bakery. What an amazing and useful interactive day! Great guys tutoring the course - and, having been in other cookery courses before, far superior in their attention when compared to any other course I’ve ever experienced. And the food at their café next door, at lunchtime, was awesome.

I recently attended a Bread Making Course at Live Love Loaf and what a fabulous day it turned out to be. Garry & Matt are fabulous teachers and so passionate about helping students like me to discover just how easy bread making can be, if you follow the right process. Nothing like you might expect having watched Mr Hollywood et al on the TV!. I can't wait to get going now all of my supplies have arrived and with my course notes in hand I am hoping for success. :-) Far Far superior to a more expensive bread course I attended in August.

Absolutely fantastic bread and baked goods at this little gem! The sourdough is my absolute favourite. The croissants are to die for. If you get there early, grab a donut and you will not be sad you did. Also, I’m not a big fan of sausage rolls but the ones they make here are the best I’ve ever had. Best bakery in Leek. By far.

DAHL-ISHOUS!!! every time I come to Leek I stop in to get a Take away large Dahl & 2 slices of organic wholemeal bread ( baked in the bakery next door & comes with a pat of local butter & wooden knife & spoon). Then I scoff it down like a beast! It's just so tasty and full of flavour. My special Leek treat. If you like Dahl....or have never tried it you MUST go to Number 5 , treat yourself to a Dahl. Nommy nom nom!

My favourite tea room, the service is always 5*, the food and cleanliness too. The quiche is gorgeous, homemade and always fresh! My children love the cakes too! Always a great selection!

What an amazing little gem, superb food, faultless staff and service. We did a two hour round trip and it was worth every minute. Well done we will definitely be back . The salad was fresh and the coffee and cakes were first class.

A lovely tea room. Serving great food and beverage. The tea is served in a fantastic collection of China teapots and cups and saucers with quirky milk jugs, salt and pepper pots. All ads character to how a tea room should be. The staff are wonderful and welcoming. Set just off the market Square it's the Idea spot to recharge yourself.

Everything is hard enough with cost at the moment so things like this make me feel really disheartened.

Absolutely top notch service - couldn’t do enough for us. Even adjusted tables that were reserved for later in the day so we didn’t have to rush or swap tables. Food was delicious and nicest coffee I’ve had in a while.

Fabulous tea rooms, friendly staff, fantastic home made food and cakes and service served with a smile and very welcoming. Me my mum and sister enjoy it every time we go.

Online says free garlic bread which we didn't get, wanted charge us 20p per salad item, 6quid for popcorn chicken and chips which is a child size, not value for money 1pound for a tiny amount of sweet chilli sauce

If I could leave zero I would. Fast delivery, driver very polite but the food I wouldn't give my dog. Absolutely disgusting. We go here quite often and it's been going down hill for a while but tonight was next level. Under cooked chips, over cooked chicken. How you mess chicken and chips up is beyond me 🤢

When we order they normally give us loads and it's hot that's the donner meat and chips with the 3 bits of chicken and salad but the last 3 times it not cooked really well and hasn't tasted very well and the salad is like its be left out 3 days and off with the chicken from two days left overs and the chips wasn't cooked properly.

Have used Pizza Line a few times but after Thursdays meal never again. Had to wait 25 mins at the store to collect even though we had already place the order on-line, firstly given the wrong order then our order was wrong. But the worst thing was that there were no gloves or masks being worn by the staff and the staff were handling raw meat then salad without washing their hands. Interesting that there is no food hygiene notice on display.

Ordered chicken tikka massala each for me and my partner the tub hardly had any in and it was 100 percent out of a tin from aldi or somewhere and it cost 7 quid utter disgrace. Was not freshly cooked

I wasn’t massively impressed with the food this time I came. It’s probably a bit unfair to compare it to the first time I visited though as this was in 2013. I just found the food to be a little bit dry and lacking much flavour. But I really liked the service and the ladies behind the counter were helpful and friendly. It’s good value too, and the food comes quick. I recommend this place if you’re in a pinch.

You can get toasties, burgers, full breakfast, baked potatoes, omelette & that's all I can remember, you can mix it up or just choose a combination from the menu. It's very clean & the owners are lovely people. Leek has some great shops & The Diner is a great place to get you food. There is a small outdoor area too. Would highly recommend

Great service from Turkish Delight, ordered a kebab for my partner online tonight, realised I had accidentally selected the wrong one, completely my fault. Rang to check but order was already made and out for delivery however they said keep that one and have made us a completely new one and came and delievered that separately. Was a great takeaway aswell. What great customer service, much appreciated.

Tried their Pizza and Doner meat this evening. And it was so bad that I only had a slice and threw the remaining in the bin. Quality wasn't up to the mark, got swelling in my mouth 5 mins after the meal. Won't visit again.

As Weary Travellers staying in Leek (At The Green Man) for 1 Night after a long Day at Alton Towers with a Hungry 5 year old in tow, not knowing anywhere to eat, l ended up searching for a nearby takeaway, and using Google maps & Turkish Delights popped up followed their reviews & my Nose & can honestly say this place lives up to the reviews, the food was cooked fresh, substantial & importantly reasonable having been fleeced by Merlin Entertainment All Day Long was very welcome to my wallet. We ordered Pizzas which were delicious & with friendly Staff! Well done guys keep it up! If we ever return to Leek again next time I would like to try the Burgers & Kebabs! Simon from Brighton

Absolutely gross. Order came very late, I did call to ask where it was, the guy was so rude . My friend chose a lamb kebab with "turkish naan" and loads of salad options added.. he received a basic supermarket style tortilla wrap, burnt lamb, a few bits of salad and lots of dry school dinner chips and soggy onion rings.. We did not order chips or onion rings... He couldn't eat the meat as he said it was so fatty and stringy...will most definitely not order again. So many better places in leek to get great kebabs.. just thought we'd try somewhere new...lesson learnt. The delivery guy was lovely though.

Ive yet again just had the most succulent, fresh and delicious mixed meat kebab from here! Seriously, absolutely beautiful.... best ever, no comparison in town... the only time ive had a Turkish kebab thats of such great quality and high standard of freshly cooked meat - is actually on Turkey! Last night me and my hubby ordered a takeaway from here. We've never had a problem with the foof! We waited over an hour. I emailed requesting a refund and then rang them personally. I got a man's voice telling me that it's on its way and will be about 2-3 minutes, it took 8 more minutes & before I could even say anything else he said okay, thankyou, bye then hung up! My hubby has woken up this morning feeling very ill. He never gets ill, but he was being sick and had a very bad stomach! Not long ago I have also experienced the same! I am TYPE1 DIABETIC and we have both got FOOD POISONING! if I end up in hospital I will sue! We have a one year old who needs at least one of us taking care of her, I will keep emailing until I get my refund! 😠😠😠

Inconsiderate of their neighbours. Play music far exceeding permitted levels. I live at least 4/5 hundred meters from the pub, their music can be heard through double glazing. Neighbours working nights may need to sleep during the day, not bothered, have young children trying to sleep, not bothered, trying to just enjoy your bank holiday in your garden with a book, not bothered, you must listen to their racket non stop for 9 hours during the bank holiday weekend. Videos taken, the council will be complained to again, the police will be informed again, hopefully they’ll do something about it. I’m not against music, I’m against a pub in a residential area playing their music so loud that it causes a disturbance half a kilometre away through double glazed windows.

Well if your after a pup with a great atmosphere, well can't go wrong here. Reminds me of how a bar should be, yes it's not large, but as a homely feeling, especially with the log fire going, & good bar staff. Never been before, but definitely will go back.b

First time in a while and I wasn’t disappointed. Lasagne and salad was very tasty and reasonably priced. Wife had baked potatoes and chicken curry and was very nice and spicy.

Rang up today for a full breakfast on the spur of the moment. Fifteen mins later I was tucking into a proper nice breakfast .full Brecky for a fiver. Really clean place and dead friendly staff. Definitely recommend

We had a lovely visit to The Black Lion in Cheddleton. The pub had a lively, welcoming atmosphere that added to the charm of the evening. We ordered the steak and ale pie and the fish and chips—both dishes were hearty and delicious. Parking was a bit of a challenge, but it was well worth it for the food and experience. All in all, a great visit—we’d definitely come back!

First time visit for late lunch. Wife had beef sandwiches i had steak n ale pie absolutely gorgeous. So much so we booked for the following night. Lady behind the bar first class.

We had lunch there today and I treated myself to the Lamb Tagine with cuscus. It was cooked to perfection and was absolutely delicious. The service was quick, the staff very friendly and there was a good atmosphere. Would highly recommend this pub.

Friendly welcome, lovely trad corner bar, some attempts to keep the upholstered bench seating. Board games available. It looks so iconic from the outside. Wainwright and Bass on tap, stock alternatives. The Chase on TV. A pub that needs people for atmosphere. But definitely not a bad place going.

Not sure if this pub is still open but went in last year and the decor is amazing. Very old school. The beers are local as are the people inside. Very welcoming and friendly. Would highly recommend this place to anyone.

It's usually very good but I've had problems the last couple of times. I ordered the burger special tonight. No donner meat, the food was cold, very little cheese on the chips and minimal mayo 😔. The time before, there was a mess up with the loyalty points, so now I've lost them.

If I could give 0 stars, I would. This was hands down the worst burger I’ve ever had. I ordered it with salad – no onions, no lettuce,no proper tomatoes – instead, they stuffed it with sour pickled cabbage. The only thing I could taste was vinegar. The hot and spicy wings were even worse. The chicken tasted spoiled – like it had been sitting around for years. It was dry, rubbery, and served with equally bad chips. Honestly, I’m shocked this food was even allowed to be sold. I tried calling the restaurant immediately after opening my order, but no one answered. I called several times and was completely ignored. To top it all off, I ended up with food poisoning after eating this trash. I paid for spoiled food and a terrible attitude. The staff were rude and dismissive.The people making the food clearly don’t care what the customer wants – it’s like their attitude is: “Eat it or leave it.” Please avoid this place if you care about your health. I genuinely believe this place should be shut down for food safety violations. It’s clear they only care about taking your money – not about the quality of the food or the well-being of their customers.

A real shame. Ordered from here for years but the food quality has been going downhill. “Steak” kebab had stale pitta and the toughest bit of low quality braising steak. It was so tough and chewy that it was inedible. Won’t be ordering from here again.

Ordered a Zinger burger with 8 wings and fries. The fries were the only thing that didn’t piss me off—fresh, hot, and a decent portion. That’s where the good part ends. The wings were straight-up horrible. Dry, rock hard, and tasted like they were made from leftover stale chicken that had been fried and refried until it turned into something inedible. Completely disgusting. I wouldn’t feed that to anyone. The burger was just sad. No onion, no lettuce, no effort. Just a plain dry patty shoved in a bun with red cabbage like they couldn’t care less. As if the terrible quality wasn’t enough, we ended up with food poisoning today because of that garbage you served us yesterday. Stomach cramps, vomiting, the whole thing. Absolutely unacceptable. Total waste of money and now a serious health risk too. Feels like they’re cutting every corner possible and still charging full price. Never ordering from here again unless they seriously fix their food.

Nice place to enjoy a quiet pint but the kids beer garden is not what I call child friendly the swing was bit unstable and the drop from garden to smoking area was bit high for small children plaster coming off rear wall but staff were polite

Visited the Hare & Gate to attend a family party. I don't live local so it was my first time visiting. The staff were very friendly and helpful with anything I needed. They even began to remember my orders of drinks straight away! There is WiFi available at the bar and plenty of space to sit down and enjoy your time there. The drinks were reasonably priced especially compared to other bars I have visited recently.

Most definitely a Sports Bar, with Large TV, Pool Table and a Dart Board. Some well kept beers and a friendly welcome from the locals. With a good chat going on as we entered and very soon involved in. Lounge at the rear of the building was shut when we called in, but held some good memories for me of joining my Aunties and Uncles for weekend drinks many years ago.

We order from here regularly, wait times are decent, the food we really enjoy. Sometimes can be a little greasy but for the most part it's amazing. We've always had it come hot and nothings ever missed off our order. The chip shop is pretty cheap and the Chinese is really good would definitely recommend. We love having the option of both and have nicknamed it the 'chipnese'.

Food was nice but the wait was a lot longer than comparative businesses. No explanation from staff as to why, or indicators of how long it would take. Only chippy food ordered, no specialist cooking required.

This place is a curry house to its core! Incredible curries that have been made the same way for years, never a disappointing dish & the staff are more than happy to recommend & go through dishes with you (especially the young lad who works on Saturdays) can’t recommend this place enough, a definite must try.

Best around and very nice people

It’s been good over the years but recently they’re serving some of the worst curries I’ve ever had/seen. The last one was 2 tablespoons of veg, 2 teaspoons of prawns swimming in a container of liquid.

Just visited The Reform Inn and had such a lovely time. It’s a really cosy place with a warm atmosphere. The food was hearty and delicious – I had a sandwich with gravy, chunky chips, and a fresh side salad, and we also tried a pie in a creamy sauce with perfectly cooked veg and chips. Everything was well presented and really tasty. The service was friendly and attentive, which made the whole experience even better. A great spot to relax and enjoy a meal.

Visited after a hike on the weekend... What a lovely pub, very nicely presented inside and out. We visited based off of the Google reviews and we were not disappointed. We both opted for the pie... one with chips, one with mash. Really, really tasty food, large portions and wonderful service from numerous members of staff. I would definitely recommend this place for the food alone, but the friendly demeanor of the staff bumps this place up. Thanks for a lovely meal

This was the third time we’ve eaten there, as usual the food & service was superb.

We attended on the evening of 27/9/25. We were quickly shown to our table. The staff were excellent very polite and nothing was too much trouble for them. Having placed our order with the waitress, she enquired as regards to any food allergies. The food arrived promptly it was both warm and really nice. Well done to all staff for making our visit such an enjoyable experience, we will definitely be back

Like many, found this place driving home from a camping trip and was ravenous. My Daughter had pancakes and I had the full English with a poached egg. Nice place, but taken a star off as I felt it was a little pricey for what we got, and my toast was warm bread. That said I judge a breakfast on the quaity of the sausage. And the sausage was top notch. Staff were nice and the pancakes and fruit were spot on. I'd go back, wince a llittle at the price, ask for my warm bread to be shown to the toaster again.... In short, would visit again!

After a visit to the nearby Peak Wildlife Park, we were after a late lunch. This appeared on maps as soon as I opened and it looked like just the ticket. Lunch menu served until 4:30. Went in and it's a nice, relatively new timber frame building, bright and airy. Quickly attended to by a member of staff. Menu had a good variety, we went with ham, egg and chips, and two panini's with a side of chips. Food service was quite quick, portion sizes were decent, and all of great quality. Nice thickly cut ham, with a perfectly cooked fried egg & tasty chutney, chips were chunky and crispy, and the panini's were well made presented with a generous side salad and crisps. A quick visit to the shop and bathrooms (which were very well presented) she we were on our way, satisfied and very happy we stopped in. Would recommend

We stopped over at this cafe while on our way to a hike. Although the cafe was full, staff were very friendly and had time to talk. We had the coffee and a cake and it was nice. Plenty of parking onsite and the washroom facilities are clean

Lots of gluten free options (including gluten free scones!) and all very reasonably priced. Decor is very autumnal and atmosphere is lovely and chilled out. Would highly recommend, especially if you are camping nearby and need to scran and charge up electronics:)

I wasn’t very impressed with my first visit. The food wasn’t very nice, but I was starving and I hate wasting food, so I ate most of it. My mum had a scone that was absolutely vile, The chips were rock hard and covered in grease and so was my burger, Which was really disappointing. The pudding, however, was lovely. Unfortunately, the service let the experience down. The staff were very slow to bring the bill and spent a lot of time standing around chatting rather than serving customers. Their customer service skills were quite poor overall, although some of the young girls were okay. My mum and I also noticed one of the ladies behind the counter touching chips without gloves and then scratching her ear, which was unhygienic and off-putting. The tables were very cramped, with hardly any room to eat. I kept hitting my arm on the chair next to me, which made it quite uncomfortable. The toilets were also messy, with paper all over the floor, which didn’t leave a good impression. It’s a shame, as the place looks lovely from the outside and they have a nice little shop inside too. Having worked in hospitality myself, I know what good service and hygiene standards look like, and sadly this visit fell well below expectations.

Very disappointed my daughter had a main I had a side and 2 deserts and a drink. The chips very bland and dry, the burger was quite greasy. I had a fruit scone with jam and clotted cream, its the first time Iv ever had a hot scone with jam and cream very bizarre. The scone was dry and tasteless even though it was hot obviously the cream was melting too! The staff although pleasant were doing a lot of talking among themselves it wasn't busy and we had to go to the counter to ask for a desert menu despite being plenty of staff standing by the counter. Not cheap either at £34.85 The room was nice but with the amount of staff on the toilets shouldn't have been as messy as they were paper all over the floor and bin over flowing. A shame really as it looks so nice from the outside.

Wedding 30.08.2025 Can’t thank you enough for the most amazing day! Lovely staff and amazing service, the whole day ran perfectly. Booked in July 2025, giving us 6weeks to plan, the Communication was great. On the day the staff went above and beyond to make sure everything was how we wanted. Ourselves and All our guest have each said how great the food was in the day and the buffet in the evening, more than enough to go around, nobody went hungry. Would highly recommend! Can’t wait to come back on new year Eve to celebrate and enjoy a fabulous spa break!!!

I’ve come to the twilight spa on numerous occasions, and every time it’s a wonderful experience. The mill spa is small but full of character. The staff are friendly and helpful, it’s clean and the lemon meringue cocktail is delightful! It’s my favourite one anywhere! They never book in too many guests so you can happily move about and use everything easily. And the two course lunch is superb! Highly recommend the pie! It’s absolutely worth its money and I plan on returning very soon!

Worst spa I have ever been to and will probably ever go to! Overnight stay with hot tub is an absolute waste of £400. The Spa has what is basically two small Saunas and a plunge pool. The ‘warm tub’ not an hot tub at all outside is useless, I’ve had warmer baths. It is not covered either in case the weather is bad. It wasn’t made clear about the spa booking times. We had the overnight stay and were booked in the spa the next day. We couldn’t use the spa when we arrived. We got told there is a hot tub with our room. This hot tub is better but again it is not covered at all in case the weather is bad. We then had to check out at 11:00 the next day. When we asked about the spa and what we were meant to do for nearly three hours (we checked out before 11:00 because we had breakfast and were ready). We got told that we might have gone on a walk or something like that. 50mph winds and raining… no offer for early access to the spa, late checkout or even a very small gesture. I wouldn’t even return just to go to the restaurant (which was actually nice) because I am that disappointed. Awful setup. Awful booking. Awful service. Wouldn’t mind as much if you could say that it is a small spa out the way but it still charges big spa prices!!! Would not recommend to anyone! Go anywhere else, please. The spa section in my gym is better than here.

I had my wedding here and it was fantastic. The staff are lovely and hardworking. I would recommend 100% for anyone to get married. We even had a spa the day after has newly weds and it was so relaxing

Myself and my partner had a lovely weekend and well needed break.With use of the spa on 1 day, 2 nights 3 course dinner as well as breakfast. The meals on both nights were great! We couldn’t be happier with Deborah on the front desk who went above and beyond and really made our stay. The garden room with private hot tub was heated ready for us and the bed was incredibly comfortable and we had very peaceful night sleep! The staff were all friendly and accommodating throughout our stay. We also used the opportunity being in the area to go to Alton Towers which was only a scenic 25 minute drive away!

Popped in for a drink while friend was charging car. Friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Lovely blend of traditional and modern. Most importantly, wine reasonably priced! Recommend and will pop in again.

Four of us went last night(18/8) for my daughter's birthday. We were very disappointed. We ordered a bottle of wine which was just plonked on the table and we were just left to open it ourselves. Fair enough we thought. The waiter asked if we would like water we said yes please but we had to ask a further three times before we actually got it. The carvery was disappointing. The roast potatoes tasted stale as if they had been standing for a long time and the vegetables were nearly gone and needed replenishing and were tepid. When we asked for the bill we had to wait at least 20 minutes before we could actually pay it and had to go to the waiters station in the end to pay. All in all a disappointing experience. I wouldn't say they were over busy so there wasn't really any excuse. It was a shame because it had come highly recommended

Many years since I've been to the jervis arms and it looks completely different inside . Been modernised but still keeping all the country pub charm, plenty of log burners , beams , stone walls it's been really nicely renovated. Really good selection of beers , food was okay , never understand why places use frozen chips. very limited menu and unfortunately the service was shocking - never offered any deserts and put a drinks order in that they completely forgot - this might have been down to new staff which all the staff were very nice and we did enjoy our visit

This is one of the most beautiful pub gardens I have sat to have lunch in. The river at the side and the sound of the little waterfall makes it all the more beautiful. The food was absolutely amazing and a lovely atmosphere inside the pub aswell and the staff are lovely but the owners puppy was even lovelier

Had a great lunch meal here after a long walk, the garden and stream are lovely and the pub interior is really great as well. The prices are good and portion sizes more than enough for the prices. Deffently a place to drop in when passing or for a nice sunny day drive out.

Just been for Sunday lunch at the Jervis Arms. Greeted by beautiful scenery and pub garden with a stream running by. Food absolutely superb. Good service and very tasty food. Absolutely beautiful food service and atmosphere I had the homemade pie all I can say is wow it was the best pie I’ve ever had we will definitely be coming back ❤️ my husband had the beef starter ❤️ beautiful food

Wonderful lunch at the Jervis Arms, good selection of beers, the homemade pie of the day was very good. The staff were great, they made our visit.

Great pub friendly staff and a great range of local cask ales. What I did like was that although we only dropped in for a drink, they found us a table unlike some lesser places that have told us we could not sit down because all tables are reserved.

By far the best pizza we ever had. From the dough to the crust to the toppings and the taste. If this is how authentic Italian pizza tastes, well, good thing I'm not living there because it would be this type of pizza for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Absolutely delicious. Flavourful. Thin crust and so soft and fluffy. The atmosphere, 10/10. From the second we walked in. The mismatched chairs, the stone oven giving out warmth and so many mouth watering smells, the live plants and most importantly, the wall of books. I mean, one might call it heaven. It was our first time here but it will definitely not be our last. The staff were friendly, helpful and definitely brought a positive vibe to the place. Pricewise, probably not expensive enough for the taste. Absolutely worth every penny - as they say - to get the experience of enjoying good food in such a great place. 5⭐ experience ❤️

Went for a weekend away and did this restaurant for my Sons 15th Birthday and Alton Towers. Arrived at the restaurant 15 minutes late from our booking time, but they were straight away very accommodating and told us it was fine and was able to seat us. When it was very busy. Drink orders came 15 minutes later and took 30 minutes just for drinks to come out. Which was very slow in my opinion, however saying this, they made me a cocktail that was not on the menu which was the best sex on the beach u ever tasted. The food we ordered straight after the drinks came. Food was again was a little slow to arrive (about 30 to 40 minutes). Food came out hot still. The food was out of this world and amazing! The service was slow but every staff member we interacted with was very friendly, polite and happy. After all this I would still recommend this restaurant. I would still give this restaurant a 4 star. Only because the service was slow but the staff and food made it up for this. A++

Ate here this afternoon with family. We had a lovely warm welcome. The service was friendly. Food absolutely delicious and plentiful. We could see the garlic bread and pizza being made. My daughter had a dish with meatballs which she said was delicious. I had the salmon and prawn linguine, plenty of well cooked salmon and king prawns. The pasta and sauce was spot on. Thanks to the chefs and all staff on duty today x

Staff super friendly and accommodating. Waitress rearranged tables for us to dry out near the pizza oven because we were soaked. Loved watching the staff make the pizzas. Food fantastic. Will definitely go again.

Walked in to a warm, welcoming , pizza smell. Shared olives to start and it was a very generous portion with lovely salted bread and olive oil. Had already ordered a pizza each which was delicious but very filling. Brought a doggy bag home. Staff were attentive and pleasant. The only down side was there wasn't a wine list and we ended up paying heavily for the drinks. Will definitely book again.

The menu offers a wide range of dishes that are not available in other establishments in Leek, making it unique and a treat! The food was of large portions, service was quick and the waiting staff were brilliant. We visited on a Wednesday at 5.30-7.30 and there will a few tables available throughout but would recommend booking ahead.

We were staying at a local campsite down the road and decided to give this Indian a go after Alton Towers. It deserves its high rating as it was excellent well priced food and the staff and atmosphere was all very good. We will be returning on our next outing.

Great service, lovely atmosphere - love the addition of the musicians playing. The food was probably the best Indian that I’ve eaten. It was fresh, tasty and really original. No artificial colours. Amazing flavours. We were in the area on holiday, but would definitely return if we are anywhere close by again.

Mehek had great food and amazing hospitality - the eggplant pakora were really tasty. Saeed was a great gentleman, he knows what he’s doing. Great little bits after visiting Alton Towers!

We called in for an anniversary meal and, wow! This restaurant is amazing! The menu is unlike any others I've seen, and I've been to a fair few Indian restaurants. The food was superb. Creative, tasty and a good size portion. The staff were fabulous and even gave us a lovely little surprise for our anniversary! Highly recommended!

First visit to Mehek and definitely won't be last. First people in restaurant to arrive and stlye layout lovely. Service is excellent and by far the best food I had from a restaurant in ages. I had beef jalfrazi and beetroot very very good, keema naan delicious, chicken chatt starters yummy, not a complaint from any of the 5 that ate.. Already trying to get wife take me back next Wednesday to try the buffet I saw advertised.... Food and drinks reasonably priced.. Definitely worth going if you like a meal balanced well with spice... This is authentic Bangladeshi food you won't find a korma on the menu.

We went there during our stay at Alton resort and the food was amazing. Ambience was calm and soothing, there was a band playing some nice relaxing music. Service was outstanding, couldn’t have asked any better. Same for the food taste. Definitely recommend if you’re in the area.

We are staying at a local campsite and decided we would have indian food for our last night of our week away. We had collection and from making the phone call to collecting our food the service was brilliant. Hand on heart i can say this is the best indian food we have had. If you are staying in the area or luve around these parts and haven't tried Mehek then you 100% must. We will definatly be having food from here again when we are back in the area

We stopped here as we're in the area in our camper, what a great place, extremely helpful and friendly staff, even though we hadn't booked a table for eating, we were reassured that it would be fine and as soon as a table became free we were offered it. The food was amazing, and the views in the morning were stunning. Highly recommended.

We went to Lud’s Church and we stopped to eat here after the hike. As soon as we stepped in we were impressed by the homie vibe this place has. Everyone is nice and it seems that is visited by a lot of locals.

We stayed in our canper van in the beautifully laid out car park. Paying to park overnight gave us a voucher for 10% off our restaurant order which was brilliant. The food and the beer were really good, the indoor eating area was cosy and the staff were lovely. We'll definitely be back.

Love this place. NEVER had a bad meal here. Friendly staff and a great menu. Well worth the 90 minute drive it takes us to get there!

A very reasonable pub high up in the hills on the A53 between Leek and Buxton. Lots of lovely scenery around the pub, but the pub itself sits in the middle of a very large car park by the side of the main road. I should imagine it gets pretty bleak up there in bad weather. We stopped for a weekday lunch. Food was very good and wholesome.

Nice atmosphere for a country pub. Had lasagne and steak pie, food was simple but decent and tasty. Staff were friendly and helpful. Paid an extra £15 to park overnight in the van with electric hook up. Good value, good choice.

I was out on my motorbike and stopped here for a soft drink ,to late to eat as the kitchen was closing. Place was nice but the sun was out so sat in the sun outside.

Had breakfast here this morning and a walk around Rudyard, the Eggs Benedict and sausage bap were lovely. The portion of the full English was on the small side with the smallest piece of toast for £12.95, which was a shame as the place itself is really lovely.

Stayed here recently for a friend's wedding in the evening. Our room was fairly compact but had all the things we needed, including an en suite bathroom. The whole room was clean and tidy and loads of tea and coffee was provided. Only complaint is that all our friends commented on how good the biscuits were they had with their tea, and we didn't get any! Either having us on or someone else had scranned them... Both perfectly acceptable. The breakfast was very good and included with the room. We had full English, pancakes and bacon and oatcakes, all really tasty bought out quickly. Bar staff were all really friendly all night and helpful with everything we needed. Would stay here again and hopefully get down to the lake when it wasn't bucketing it down! Thanks for the evening!

A fantastic hotel and location, staff can't do enough for you, food excellent, great rooms with vey comfortable beds, cleanliness's spot on , relaxed atmosphere with a proper family welcome. 10/10 Kim and her Team are amazing, attended a family wedding here and the team ran the schedule like clock work , nothing was too much to ask for , no hiccups everybody had a fantastic time and kept saying how good Kim and her team were. The bride had been let down by her hairdresser 4days before the wedding and Kim was straight on finding a replacement hair dresser, like I said this team go above and beyond to make sure you have a brilliant Wedding Day.

Live locally and enjoy a drink at Hotel Rudyard when walked the dog. Lovely location and good choice of beers. On Thursday night we decided to have a meal in the beer garden. I opted for the Scampi and chips which at £17 is quite expensive. What i got was pretty much six of everything even the peas. Very poor for the cost. I hope this was a one off as the new owners have improved the Hotel alot as it was getting bit rundown a few years ago. I don't want their hard work let down by poor portion sizes at high prices. Will try The Knott Inn next time.

Amazing entertainment, such a fun night! The staff are so helpful and the food is delicious. It’s not the first time I have stayed and I would definitely stay again.

Unfortunately, our one-night stay at Hotel Rudyard was very disappointing. On the positive side, the location is pleasant and the family suite can accommodate up to 5 people. However, many aspects fell far short of expectations: upon arrival, although payment had already been made, staff still presented us with an invoice and card reader without verifying. At the bar and restaurant, we were asked to pay before ordering — something we had never experienced before. The food was extremely poor: a single hot-dog sausage with three sad frozen fries for £15, and even the rice was badly cooked. Service was unprofessional and unfriendly. The room had a dirty carpet, basic hot water in the shower, average bedding, and no air conditioning — making it uncomfortably hot. The Wi-Fi signal was weak and unreliable, and our “view” was directly over the car park. Breakfast involved at least a 30-minute wait for very ordinary food. Overall, I cannot recommend this hotel and will not be returning.

Drinks arrive quickly. Carvery was a long wait when 5 of us were waiting for replenishment on veg. Carvery servers was very moody and put out which was a shame as the location itself is lovely.

A really nice cafe with car park and outside seating overlooking the local landscape. The only place to get something to eat if your visiting the local sites. They close at 4pm which is quite early and closed Tue and Wed. Check opening hrs before you visit. They didn't have the full menu options, only tea and cakes available as we arrived just before 4pm. What a great little find. Prices are a bit steep for what you get, but worth every single penny for those views! With the Roaches as the backdrop and the reservoir in the valley it has it all. The food was nice and served quickly - just a few more smiles from the staff and it'd be perfect.

Great vibes. Nice food, very lovely people and an amazing view. One horrible, terifying and god awful part is the toilet, the smell, the clenliness is just bad.

Staff were friendly and views were nice. However, cheese sandwich was £8.50 (!!) so expected a bit nicer than cheap bread and bizarre cheese and butter mix pictured. I think the cheese was just grated at the start of the day and sat in a tub in the sweltering heat based on the consistency.

Very disappointed with our visit as I had been looking forward to visiting the tearooms. We just had coffee and cake but the crockery was dirty (changed on request), service was slow despite being quite empty as it was a Monday and the whole place felt quite grubby in truth - not at all what I was expecting. Also very expensive - £3.75 for a filter coffee, which was all they could do at the time! The toilets are dire, and very smelly too. Lovely views is about all I can say on the positive front - the windows could do with a good clean too!!! Not an experience we'll look to repeat in truth.

I have ordered cream tea and scones wasn't that great they're quite dry, but tea room it self was cosy and location was brilliant, staff was very friendly and welcoming

£16 for two oatcakes… woke nonsense. Rude staff who were more interested in their phones than customers. Latte was served with watery cold milk. Big fall from the grace, this place used to be great. Won’t be going anytime soon. Great spot ruined.

It has two rooms. A main sitting dining area and a more cosy sitting area with sofas. There was also a toy box by the till staff were asking me to look at to calm down my toddler who was barely noisy. The toys were incredibly dirty and old. I managed to find a clean rattle toy but one of the waitresses who wore glasses made a sarcastic comment that I chose the noisy toy- just what they wanted. I took my baby to the cosier room as i felt my toddler could be more free to play there and babble easily but a lot of the shelves and items there as I was showing her were full of dust!!! Bare in mind that room is also an eating area. Plus i was worried about her inhaling the dust, so kept her in my lap. Really a cafe should be more hygienic. Food was decent but nothing out of the ordinary, hence the low rating. Otherwise coffee was nice but the dust really has put me off coming back as well as the COLD WELCOME towards my 1 year old girl!

What a hidden gem this place is, just off the main road up a lane. A tea room in an old school and it’s a very nice place to eat and chill out. The breakfasts were amazing and with loads of food on the plate and were the best that we have had in a while and a couple of coffees were spot on as well.

We arrived just before it closed - at 3 p.m. (not ideal for a tea room!), so there wasn't much choice of food. The old school building is full of character.

The perfect place to stop for tea and cake on our drive home from the Peak District. We found this lovely café by chance and we're so pleased we did! A super friendly welcome from the ladies who work there, plenty of comfortable seating and delicious food. Love the tea served in a proper china teapot and pretty cups and saucers, and my son gave the milkshake a big thumbs up! We will return.

Lunched with friends in a charming setting.Friendly attentive staff. Food was delicious. Our party ate broccoli & cheddar soup,oatcakes, full English breakfast & I had ham & tomato sandwiches salad & coleslaw.. Quality food.

Lovely quiet spot, loved the all day breakfast and was very tempted to try the rhubarb crumble but resisted. Friendly, excellent food. Perfect find at the end of a hike
