Located in St Edward Street, Spout Brew House is a charming spot that offers a variety of homemade cakes, tea, and Staffordshire's own Hasbean coffee. In addition to its beverages, the brew house also serves craft beer, gin, and wine. The menu features a wide selection of options for brunch, lunch, and dinner. Fantastic restaurant/Cafe/bar! Great options for anyone gluten free or vegan. A lovely friendly and cozy atmosphere, welcoming to solo diners as well as groups. Perfect spot for a delicious meal and post hike pint 😁

One of the worst if is not THE worst experience with food. Waiting 35 minutes just to get the drinks ( one cappuccino and a glass of tap water ) their excuse was the printer was not working, but people coming after us was served quicker. We ordered the fluffy American style pancakes, if you can even call them that (picture). They were as dry as ghandi’s slipper on a hot day. After to be served nobody came to us asking if everything was okay ( maybe around 6 peoples working there ) we should’ve complained directly to them but didn’t want to waste more time.
Letty C — Google review
Nice atmosphere and enjoyed our drinks. However I was disappointed with my food. They display a vegan option for the Shroomentine. This was advertised as hollandaise sauce, mushrooms and poached egg. I thought perfect! It will be a veganised version of that. When it came it had egg and dairy hollondaise sauce on so i had to send it back. My family had to eat without me and then 10-mins later the vegan one came out. But this was just some mushrooms on a bagel, no hollandaise sauce substitution and no scrambled Tofu or add on to replace the egg. I was still charged the same price and felt this was not right. They gave me a £3 cash refund which I still felt wasn't acceptable for a few mushrooms on a bagel. You could get bacon on a brioche bun with fried egg for that price. I was looking forward to my visit but left disappointed and still hungry. However, the atmosphere was nice and I enjoyed the coffee. I just feel the food was overpriced for what I got.

A quirky nice place to be. The Starter were delish. We had some things which we missed at the mains, it was no problem to say this as she was glad to have some comments personally which I liked and made a natural flair to the Situation. The orange almond cake as dessert was the hit. Highly recommend Spout Brew House. 👍

What a delightful visit this was. Stopped by for brunch and was welcomed by the owner, Ruth. Very chatty and friendly. The food was very tasty, fresh and reasonably priced. My cappuccino was lush too. Amazing choice of decor and colour schemes. Very well put together.

Upon arrival, patrons are greeted promptly and can expect quick service as drinks are served almost immediately.
What beautiful food, never tasted an omelette like. Cappuccino to die for. Well worth the wait. Happy to wait as everything freshly prepared and cooked and considering Sunday lunchtime. Friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere. 5*

First time. Met a friend for coffee, nice, relaxed atmosphere, staff very friendly and warm. Service isn't the fastest, but if you're not in a rush it is good. I only had a decaf, due to fasting, friend who is Gluten free, had the breakfast, she was it was delicious and tasty. I would come back again.
Dest I — Google review
Love this cafe - it has a nice upstairs area with more seating (including some comfy chairs and sofas). I have had sandwiches and oatcakes here in the past and both have been good. Tea is always really nice here - they have a loose leaf tea which is very good. The cakes are excellent too, definitely recommend. The only improvement I would make is to speed up the food service a little (not too much, doesn't need to be super fast), but the food service is very slow so you can't go there if you're in a hurry!
Corina P — Google review
Fantastic little cafe, very well run and accommodating. Excellent service, nothing is too much trouble. Also lovely touches in the toilets. Super clean, and also a basket containing all the necessary sanitary items and body sprays should they be needed. Highly rated
Helen C — Google review
The food here is delicious and it's presented really nicely! I had a vegetarian mezze platter which was really fresh and tasty and had so much going on! The prices are very reasonable so I had change to try a chocolate scone which was served warm with all the extras, I'd recommend trying one of those. The interior was really cosy and welcoming and the staff were really friendly. I left so full and happy, can't fault a thing, I'll be back soon.
Samantha H — Google review
Absolutely ❤️ Cafe Apollonia. It's local, accessable, great atmosphere AND most of what they have available is or can be gluten free. Great if you want a coffee and cake or something more hearty. Thoroughly recommend the GF pancakes 😋 Thanks Georgina and the team for making us feel so welcomed 🤗
Helena W — Google review
Truly exceptional in every way. The staff were extremely friendly and seemed eager to explain the wide range of food and drink available. My girlfriend had a mango tango tea while I had a banofee milkshake to drink. We both agreed that our drinks were extremely tasty. To eat, I had the quiche of the day (ham and mushroom) while my girlfriend had a panini. Both dishes came on pleasant wooden trays with a variety of extras, and were delicious. Highly recommended, I would come again.

Had an amazing late lunch at Cafe apollonia. The food and service is top class. Freshly made and hot and yummmmmy 😋. Hot thick pancakes with nutela and fruit, mushrooms vegan soup so rich and warm, and tuna jacket potato with plenty of salad 🥗best cafe in leek for me 👏❤️👏❤️

Nestled in the heart of Leek since 1990, Coffee Beans Cafe has become a beloved fixture on Derby Street. After exploring the local market, this cozy spot is perfect for a relaxing break. With an inviting atmosphere and ample seating both indoors and outdoors, you can enjoy people-watching while savoring their diverse menu. From rich coffees to an impressive selection of cakes, sandwiches, pastries, and light meals like paninis and soups, there's something for everyone.
Our favourite café, stop for lunch if ever we're in Leek. Lovely food, great coffee and a great range of cakes. Staff are polite and friendly, would highly recommend.
Archie M — Google review
Never had such a bad breakfast, I can't believe we passed at all of the other breakfast places and ended up here only to be disappointed. The scrambled eggs were overdone, the sausages anaemic, the bacon barely crispy, no mushrooms, grilled tomato's ended up being 4 microwaves baby plum tomato's, not enough butter for the toast, and when we asked for brown sauce between us we were given the smallest pot of brown sauce. Never again
Nathan S — Google review
Avoid unless you like awful quality microwaved cheap food. Never had such a bad breakfast. Hash browns must have been browner than David Dickinson! Eggs hard and slimey. The only benefit of us being there was to warn the lovely family on the table opposite.
Leigh W — Google review
Great place. I've been a couple of times now but this time I came with my nephew who is coeliac. They were great in accommodating gluten-free for him. Service is always polite and friendly.
Iona G — Google review
One of the best cafes I've been to only ordered food to takeout so far but with the many choices of tray bakes, scones and savoury bits on offer I will definitely be sitting in on my next visit.
Ryan W — Google review
Picked this coffee shop as looked appealing. The food and coffee were good so no worries there. The service unfortunately left a lot to be desired. Not sure if they were short staffed as they seemed a little stressed. Our food order was wrong although we accepted it as it seemed easier than making them take it back, and in any case we enjoyed it. Another table also had an issue with their order. The ladies were friendly and engaging but the young lad who I assume was training as he was constantly being given instructions needed to sort himself out. When he brought ours and other tables food he didn't speak or engage at all. He seemed somewhat lifeless and it gave a poor impression. Hopefully he will get better, but interaction with customers is a must for any business. The premises were clean and inviting so that was good. Clearly the place is popular as there was a steady stream of customers both take away and dining in.

Fantastic Best coffee ever had in cafe Service with a smile 😃 Definitely recommend
Geraldine T — Google review
Not impressed I'm afraid. I ordered a cake & drink of cola, to consume in the cafe area, plus two cakes to take home. I paid for everything but wasn't given a receipt. I sat at a table & waited for my order. The table was cluttered with dirty crockery, crumbs, suger & what looked like milky coffee - I hastened to add that the only other tables available were in a similar state. The floor under every table was filthy - ended up with slippery food on the soles of my shoes !!. I started to think I had made a big mistake in coming into the cafe ! I don't like to pick my way through bits of food that should have been cleaned up as soon as the tables occupants had left the table. The final frustration was that my cake order hadn't been boxed up & the two young women behind the counter had brief 'words', one clearly recalling my paid for order & the other not recalling a word of the conversation the three of us had had 15 minutes before. I didn't have a receipt to show the fair haired girl my proof of purchase. These girls need supervision & a clear brief of what is expected of them when in work. Both were quite pleasant but communication between them needs work, as well as a reminder about hygiene & health & safety. However, can I say, the cakes & flapjack were delicious.

This place is amazing! The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. The food is spot on. I got the vegan chicken and bacon sandwich and it was really yummy, the perfect lunch for me. The coffee was very tasty with impressive latte art just adding to the already perfect experience. I will definitely be back here again, would 100% recommend to anyone

Lovely café, the coffee is the best I've ever had. The vegan chicken and bacon sandwich is delicious 😋 Lovely staff and cute café. It's small and busy and I'd definitely recommend it.

Awesome food, attention to detail, and the best blend of coffee in the county. Would like to add that the new menu is now out, we had the Gyros and the Mediterranean board. Both were very tasty and beautifully presented.

DAHL-ISHOUS!!! every time I come to Leek I stop in to get a Take away large Dahl & 2 slices of organic wholemeal bread ( baked in the bakery next door & comes with a pat of local butter & wooden knife & spoon). Then I scoff it down like a beast! It's just so tasty and full of flavour. My special Leek treat. If you like Dahl....or have never tried it you MUST go to Number 5 , treat yourself to a Dahl. Nommy nom nom!

The White Hart Tearoom & B&B Leek is a traditional inn that offers basic accommodations and an on-site tea room and sandwich bar. During a recent visit, a customer and their friend enjoyed a delightful lunch. The jacket potatoes were promptly served, oven-baked, and accompanied by a delicious homemade filling and fresh mixed salad. The atmosphere was pleasant, allowing for relaxation without any pressure to leave quickly. The prices were reasonable as well.
Convenient parking nearby in council car park (free at weekends) efficient booking in process, sent door codes that worked well. Really nicely recently refurbished room, excellent value for money. Bathroom clean , plenty of towels. Little cupboard with spare mattress and ironing board, radiator - nice extra touch. The tea room was lively with a great choice of hot breakfast - the veggie option was excellent. One observation- could cereal be available as an option? My son wanted this but unfortunately it wasn’t offered. Really good value , I had a great nights sleep and highly recommend it!

A beautiful little Place right in the heart of Leek. Easy booking and check in process. We was given codes for entry/access to our accommodation when tea rooms are closed. Plenty of parking locally, reasonably cheap and free after 15.30 on Saturday and free all day Sunday. We found our room very clean and was provided everything for a lovely stay. Bed was comfortable, towels good quality and complimentary showering miniatures. Only slight issue was the TV signal wasn't great, channels not watchable but not a big issue. Staff were all helpful and welcoming in the cosy tea room. We ordered breakfast which was very nice and was pleasantly surprised when told it was in with the cost of the room as we was unaware, nice bonus. Overall we had a lovely pleasant stay and will definitely return. We have since found out they have dog friendly rooms so will be back with our little one.

The White Hart in Leek is a pub with history and unique character. The service is quick, friendly and very professional. The English breakfast – one of the best I’ve ever had: fresh, perfectly prepared and at a great price. Definitely a place worth recommending.
Renata M — Google review
Wonderful classic bed and breakfast. Clean comfortable rooms. Lovely Cafe that serves excellent full English breakfast including vegetarian options. Friendly helpful staff. Very old fashioned cozy feel. Was staying as part of Leek Blues and Americana Festival. Everything in walking distance.
Debbie B — Google review
Sunday breakfast. Nice atmosphere. Clean inside. Prices reasonable. Service quick and coffee decent. The problem was with the food. I ordered scrambled eggs on toast. The toast was thin cut Aldi bread, 2 miserable pats of wrapped butter and the driest over cooked, undereasoned eggs ever. Like someone put eggs in dry pan, cooked for double the time and took then out. No butter, no seasoning... Barely ate any eggs after tasting them. Had 2 half slices of cold toast after which the butter ran out. When the plates were collected nothing was asked about if we enjoyed it or there was a problem despite my dish returning to the kitchen not much different to how it came out. No further drinks were offered. Waiting staff avoided our eye we think or purpose as they were either too busy or didnt want to get us more drinks or the bill. Stepped up to the till, no check if all was well, just paid and left. Feel like it was a half done effort. No pride. I suspect iwnas just unlucky. Other diners seemed happy with their food.
Simon R — Google review
After visiting on 24th may 2025 we found that the customer service wasn't good. There was one young lady with ginger hair who was extremely rude and made us feel like we were an inconvenience to her, she was been very unprofessional with the other young lady with dark hair by telling her that the young lad was doing her head in because of his hand writing, this was in ear shot of all diners. It's such a shame as we come here as a family most weekends 😪 but unfortunately this has put us off.
Karen P — Google review
Use to go here alot was always good , haven’t been for a while so thought I would go with a few friends. Sorry but it’s gone downhill, our meals were not served together , staff rude seemed like they didn’t want to be there . Food almost thrown at then table . Was told scone was fresh but was very dry not nice at all.
Christine M — Google review
I really wanted to like this place but despite it being a quirky place with lots of memorabilia (perhaps a bit too much) the biggest disappointment was the breakfast. This tea room has plenty of good reviews and I am sure the food is otherwise good however my breakfast was not. Two of the smallest sausages I have ever seen one we'll done the other just about cooked but tasted cheap. Bacon was average but my plate was swimming in water from the mushrooms and the sliced tomato was just too much and looked unappetising. At £9.50 it was below par. I would like to point out that this is just a matter of taste but for me at that price I expected more. I have had better at Morrisons for less. Staff are quick and efficient the cafe is interesting and I'm sure other dishes are really nice.

We called in whilst passing through Leek and we are really glad we did! Efficient, friendly service and we were ordering take-away full English breakfasts which were packaged so well and with great care. We were surprised at the speed too in which they were made. Really great experience and would not hesitate to come back or recommend to others. It was obvious other customers were enjoying their meals too from the feedback we heard.

A really gorgeous cafe in the middle of nowhere, clearly well looked after by all the amazing staff that make this place special. We were so pleased with our fantastic breakfast here and wish we lived closer to come back! Very fair prices for the food and drinks provided, great atmosphere, lovley little gift shop, clean tables and restaurant as well as toilets, the best surprise was the sanitary products in the ladies which is such a rarity but shows how customer centered this place is, kind and genuinely caring. Very family friendly, disabled friendly, overall a great place to visit.

Like many, found this place driving home from a camping trip and was ravenous. My Daughter had pancakes and I had the full English with a poached egg. Nice place, but taken a star off as I felt it was a little pricey for what we got, and my toast was warm bread. That said I judge a breakfast on the quaity of the sausage. And the sausage was top notch. Staff were nice and the pancakes and fruit were spot on. I'd go back, wince a llittle at the price, ask for my warm bread to be shown to the toaster again.... In short, would visit again!

After a visit to the nearby Peak Wildlife Park, we were after a late lunch. This appeared on maps as soon as I opened and it looked like just the ticket. Lunch menu served until 4:30. Went in and it's a nice, relatively new timber frame building, bright and airy. Quickly attended to by a member of staff. Menu had a good variety, we went with ham, egg and chips, and two panini's with a side of chips. Food service was quite quick, portion sizes were decent, and all of great quality. Nice thickly cut ham, with a perfectly cooked fried egg & tasty chutney, chips were chunky and crispy, and the panini's were well made presented with a generous side salad and crisps. A quick visit to the shop and bathrooms (which were very well presented) she we were on our way, satisfied and very happy we stopped in. Would recommend

I wasn’t very impressed with my first visit. The food wasn’t very nice, but I was starving and I hate wasting food, so I ate most of it. My mum had a scone that was absolutely vile, The chips were rock hard and covered in grease and so was my burger, Which was really disappointing. The pudding, however, was lovely. Unfortunately, the service let the experience down. The staff were very slow to bring the bill and spent a lot of time standing around chatting rather than serving customers. Their customer service skills were quite poor overall, although some of the young girls were okay. My mum and I also noticed one of the ladies behind the counter touching chips without gloves and then scratching her ear, which was unhygienic and off-putting. The tables were very cramped, with hardly any room to eat. I kept hitting my arm on the chair next to me, which made it quite uncomfortable. The toilets were also messy, with paper all over the floor, which didn’t leave a good impression. It’s a shame, as the place looks lovely from the outside and they have a nice little shop inside too. Having worked in hospitality myself, I know what good service and hygiene standards look like, and sadly this visit fell well below expectations.

Probably the best chicken mushroom pie I have ever had!
Robertas R — Google review
Very disappointed my daughter had a main I had a side and 2 deserts and a drink. The chips very bland and dry, the burger was quite greasy. I had a fruit scone with jam and clotted cream, its the first time Iv ever had a hot scone with jam and cream very bizarre. The scone was dry and tasteless even though it was hot obviously the cream was melting too! The staff although pleasant were doing a lot of talking among themselves it wasn't busy and we had to go to the counter to ask for a desert menu despite being plenty of staff standing by the counter. Not cheap either at £34.85 The room was nice but with the amount of staff on the toilets shouldn't have been as messy as they were paper all over the floor and bin over flowing. A shame really as it looks so nice from the outside.

A really nice cafe with car park and outside seating overlooking the local landscape. The only place to get something to eat if your visiting the local sites. They close at 4pm which is quite early and closed Tue and Wed. Check opening hrs before you visit. They didn't have the full menu options, only tea and cakes available as we arrived just before 4pm. Check opening hrs before you visit.

What a great little find. Prices are a bit steep for what you get, but worth every single penny for those views! With the Roaches as the backdrop and the reservoir in the valley it has it all. The food was nice and served quickly - just a few more smiles from the staff and it'd be perfect.
O O — Google review
Great vibes. Nice food, very lovely people and an amazing view. One horrible, terifying and god awful part is the toilet, the smell, the clenliness is just bad.
Ege T — Google review
Staff were friendly and views were nice. However, cheese sandwich was £8.50 (!!) so expected a bit nicer than cheap bread and bizarre cheese and butter mix pictured. I think the cheese was just grated at the start of the day and sat in a tub in the sweltering heat based on the consistency.
Gemma C — Google review
Very disappointed with our visit as I had been looking forward to visiting the tearooms. We just had coffee and cake but the crockery was dirty (changed on request), service was slow despite being quite empty as it was a Monday and the whole place felt quite grubby in truth - not at all what I was expecting. Also very expensive - £3.75 for a filter coffee, which was all they could do at the time! The toilets are dire, and very smelly too. Lovely views is about all I can say on the positive front - the windows could do with a good clean too!!! Not an experience we'll look to repeat in truth.
Jane G — Google review
I have ordered cream tea and scones wasn't that great they're quite dry, but tea room it self was cosy and location was brilliant, staff was very friendly and welcoming
Iram S — Google review
£16 for two oatcakes… woke nonsense. Rude staff who were more interested in their phones than customers. Latte was served with watery cold milk. Big fall from the grace, this place used to be great. Won’t be going anytime soon. Great spot ruined.

Cheddleton Old School Tea Rooms is highly praised for its excellent value, friendly service, and charming ambiance. Visitors can enjoy a variety of delicious food options, including a top-notch bacon and a mouth-watering Sunday roast. The tea rooms offer a warm and inviting atmosphere with attentive staff that are both helpful and accommodating. Additionally, the establishment provides amenities such as ample parking space at the back, a designated disabled spot at the front, and even welcomes dogs.
We stopped here for lunch whilst staying in the area. We both had a sandwich, coffee and cake. The sandwich was full of filling, made to order and very fresh. It came with side salad, crisps and homemade coleslaw. The carrot cake was also homemade and was delicious. All in all a most enjoyable experience that we will repeat when next in the area. We also highly recommend this lovely little tearoom.

It has two rooms. A main sitting dining area and a more cosy sitting area with sofas. There was also a toy box by the till staff were asking me to look at to calm down my toddler who was barely noisy. The toys were incredibly dirty and old. I managed to find a clean rattle toy but one of the waitresses who wore glasses made a sarcastic comment that I chose the noisy toy- just what they wanted. I took my baby to the cosier room as i felt my toddler could be more free to play there and babble easily but a lot of the shelves and items there as I was showing her were full of dust!!! Bare in mind that room is also an eating area. Plus i was worried about her inhaling the dust, so kept her in my lap. Really a cafe should be more hygienic. Food was decent but nothing out of the ordinary, hence the low rating. Otherwise coffee was nice but the dust really has put me off coming back as well as the COLD WELCOME towards my 1 year old girl!

What a hidden gem this place is, just off the main road up a lane. A tea room in an old school and it’s a very nice place to eat and chill out. The breakfasts were amazing and with loads of food on the plate and were the best that we have had in a while and a couple of coffees were spot on as well.
Wheelz A — Google review
We arrived just before it closed - at 3 p.m. (not ideal for a tea room!), so there wasn't much choice of food. The old school building is full of character.

The perfect place to stop for tea and cake on our drive home from the Peak District. We found this lovely café by chance and we're so pleased we did! A super friendly welcome from the ladies who work there, plenty of comfortable seating and delicious food. Love the tea served in a proper china teapot and pretty cups and saucers, and my son gave the milkshake a big thumbs up! We will return.

Had the cottage pie chips and peas closely followed by bread and butter pudding and custard. All very good quality too, fast efficient service and the best value for money. Would definitely recommend eating here. 👍

Ordered several meals for the Family. The food was tasty however expensive considering I personally received a very meagre portion of very thin 'slivers' supposed to be Chips as part of my meal, not enough to fill a Tablespoon. If you want to feel you have eaten a main meal and not be hungry afterwards go elsewhere.

Diners often find themselves pleasantly full, with delicious cakes to savor later. The tearoom also shines during lunch hours, offering a fantastic selection of homemade dishes in generous portions that leave guests satisfied every time.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This is hands down our favourite place for lunch! Whenever my little boy and I go, it’s always such a lovely experience. The atmosphere is cosy and welcoming, the staff are genuinely kind – especially Sam and Jess, who always go out of their way to be sweet with my little boy. He loves the beautiful window displays and gets so excited to pick out a cake from the glass counter. The themed cakes are incredible – the Gruffalo one was his favourite – and the lemon cake is honestly next level. Everything is made with such care, and you can tell they really take pride in what they do. We always leave with full bellies and big smiles. Couldn’t recommend it more!

Sainsbury's Cafe at Leek store is known for its excellent customer service. The staff are always attentive, even going as far as wiping down the seats of kids' trolleys after it rains. Recently, a customer brought their 8-month-old and 4-year-old to the cafe during a difficult time, but the staff went above and beyond to make their visit enjoyable.
Lovely staff, nice coffee, tasted even better as my daughter paid for it from her first pay packet. Cookie 🍪 was very nice. Cafe clean and relaxing.

I have had a breakfast here before and without any complaints. However on this occasion after ordering my big breakfast the cutlery was dirty so had to clean that myself and the table wasn't any better crumbs and baked beans had been left by the previous people using the table. Is it to much to ask for the servers to clean each table after use? The worst thing about this meal I had is suffering later on with a tummy upset which I never get, the eggs were over cooked and looked like they'd been cooked for a long time before serving, the yoke was so hard almost inedible. Definitely won't be returning ever. Food hygiene is a very serious matter.
Patrick S — Google review
Food unfortunately was awful..I had the fish & chips, fish bland, chips tasted awful the nicest thing was the slice of lemon, partner had the all day breakfast, sausages burnt and tasted awful toast also burnt. Overall awful wouldn't go again.

We ordered a 3 simple meals and opon ordering we were informed with an estimated 5-10 minutes wait. We were rushed and were shocked to find a half hour (30) minute wait. The food was alright but couldn't enjoy a as we were forced to rush our meal. Not worth waiting and will not be visiting again any time soon.
Eddy S — Google review
Price was reasonable, quality of food good. There was a bit of a wait (20 mins for meals for 2). Nice view. One small, but nonetheless easy to solve point: the order card, i.e. the thing they put on the table so they know where to bring your order, was absolutely filthy. It was covered in fingerprints and grease, and hadn't been cleaned in quite a while. It's a bit off-putting when waiting for food. Someone just needs to give them a wipe with a cloth, and the problem would be solved. Update: it now seems someone has taken notice of this - order cards are now being wiped regularly. Moving from 3 to 4 star.
Ben C — Google review
The food is so hit and miss! This time the toast was burnt on one side and served face down so was not to notice! Also all the food was look warm so had been stood for a while. Upon complaining I was offered I free drink to which I already had a paid drink. Will be avoiding in the future. Pay the extra and go somewhere nice for breakfast!
Matthew S — Google review
Good food and prices OK but like most supermarket café the food was served not warm enough, by the time I got the standard breakfast it was cold, so what to do. Serve on hot plates, microwave beans, tomatoes, and then make the plate up and serve quickly to the table. Lastly the cafe itself was really cold and needs heating

I wasn’t massively impressed with the food this time I came. It’s probably a bit unfair to compare it to the first time I visited though as this was in 2013. I just found the food to be a little bit dry and lacking much flavour. But I really liked the service and the ladies behind the counter were helpful and friendly. It’s good value too, and the food comes quick. I recommend this place if you’re in a pinch.

Rudyard Lake Sailing Club is home to The Galley Coffee Shop, owned by Ian Lee. The club offers picturesque views and plenty of walking and photo opportunities. Visitors can enjoy boat hire for rowing or electric motor boats, making it a fantastic experience for a picnic in the middle of the lake. The cafe, Mini Beans, welcomes non-club members with coffee, cakes, other food options, and ice cream.
Now I can't fault this. It was fantastic welcoming and a great way to break up the walk around Rudyard lake with a spot of lunch. The service was fantastic. We had a really tasty hot turkey bap whilst the beast had a massive jar of treats. My wife was loaned a rug as we chose to sit outside. Great views and a gem of a place to visit. Highly recommended.

A great little place that is absolutely picturesque. Loads of places to walk and even more places to take photos. There are plenty of places to park, there is free parking at the miniature railway or paid parking at the café. For us the star of the show is the boat hire £10 for ~30mins in a row boat and £20 for an electronic motor boat for ~30 mins. It's fantastic experience to have a picnic in the middle of the lake and completely disconnected from the rest of the world. The captain of the boat yard seems a really friendly chap and even let our daughter catch a fish with his fishing rod. Really nice touch and something she's never done before. I can't recommend this place enough.

We absolutely love REC. Have been going there since Sept 2024 initially for equine therapy/wellbeing sessions, with the added bonus of a pony ride/lesson included. The owners and family have all been so amazing and welcoming with my daughter, training her in stable management and encouraging her to join and help at the group sessions. It is her happy place which makes us all so happy. The cafe is great for me to relax and watch from a safe distance with a coffee or ice cream, or go and sit in the grounds with a peaceful view. Many different ice cream flavours are available, and today I tried Affogato for the first time! They also have a well stocked shop for those horse riding essentials. Please go and take a visit whether to see the ponies or just for the ice cream, views and tranquility of Rudyard. A real hidden paradise!

The world needs more places like this where our children can breathe fresh air, feel safe and connect with animals ❤️ pure, simple, beautiful 💛

We had a delightful time at this pony paradise at the weekend - we booked two Pony Experiences for our children. The family who own and run Rudyard Equestrian Centre were so welcoming and made us feel quite at home. The yard staff were a credit to them too - friendly and great with the children, patient too with our quite shy son who looked unhappy but was actually having a ball! Beautiful ponies, so well cared for and a lovely, well-kept and tidy yard. Gorgeous clubhouse full of lovely things. A delight. We really look forward to visiting again as the children get older. Thank you Georgiana and family - and Buttons and Prince Charming too!

Rudyard Equestrian Centre and Happy Hill Ice Cream are truly a haven of joy, comfort, and community. Every weekend spent here is a heartwarming experience, where breathtaking views, gentle ponies, and the simple pleasures of good food and company come together in perfect harmony. Beyond the enchanting equestrian experience and delightful ice cream, there’s a feast for the senses with indulgent cheesy chips, homemade cakes, rich milkshakes, and perfectly brewed coffees and teas. Whether you’re seeking a warm drink to accompany a peaceful moment overlooking the countryside, or a delicious treat after an afternoon spent with the ponies, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Mr. A, Georgina, and their family have created a welcoming atmosphere where visitors don’t just feel like guests—they feel like part of a close-knit community. Their kindness, hospitality, and genuine care bring people together, restoring the joy of family time and making every visit something truly special. Rudyard Equestrian Centre and Happy Hill Ice Cream offer more than just an escape—they offer unforgettable moments. It’s a place where happiness comes naturally, and where memories are made weekend after weekend. For us R.E.C has become our family happy place, after covid we slipped into pre covid habits overworking and spending less time together. R.E.C has been the place we have rediscovered precious family time together, for that we are forever grateful! x
