During our stay in Venosa, we had dinner at Trattoria Locanda Oraziana twice. On the first evening we arrived late in Venosa, but Anastasia and her family welcomed us with a smile and prepared a great menu. The food was very tasty, the plates arranged with love and the service extremely friendly. We felt so welcome that we booked another table with the whole family two days later. Thank you for a dining experience with local products & dishes and even more for our great conversations. We will definitely come back and recommend you to others!

Waited an unusually long time to be seated until they announced that lots of customers would coming soon and couldn’t fit us in, even though the restaurant was *empty*. Every table was open. Felt like a joke. I don’t normally critique a place without trying the food, but the remarkably rude communication and the absolute ridiculousness of a refusal to seat a party when every table is available, warrants this exception. Even if every seat were already taken, nothing excuses the extremely rude manner in which this was communicated.

The view was spectacular and the food was great. We chose a not spectacular wine so that was our mistake. We were the last table to leave and I was blessed with a beautiful evening and fantastic spot to propose to my Sweetie just the 2 of us and the iconic city in the background !!! The terrace the looks down on the square is just as beautiful as the opposite one the looks out over the city!! It was a fantastic evening we will never forget and the meal and staff here was great! We can’t wait to celebrate here again and try more of the cuisine!!!

The number one rule in Italy is to never eat in a bar. Having said that, this place is a bar and was okay. The server was very kind and explained everything (she also spoke English which was helpful.) But, she kinda had to as there was NO menu, or prices… she was honest and even warned us that the one wine we were considering was THE most expensive in the place. The chef was nice and provided a small bruschetta as a starter, without our asking. I had the pasta with pepperoni and zucchini cream, which sounded fancy and new and I’m sorry but it was lot like Kraft Mac and cheese?! So I was disappointed. My son and son both had the steak taglietta - my wife opting for mushrooms that were delicious! The tiramisu and canolli desserts were average. All in all not a bad place, but my dish was disappointing.
