Mediterranean restaurant
Vicus Restaurant is an elegant establishment in Pals, Catalonia, offering contemporary Catalan sharing plates. Founded by Elisabet Figuerola and Gerard Geli in 2011, the restaurant showcases a modern twist on traditional Catalan cuisine. Head chef Damia Rafecas creates artfully styled dishes like rack of lamb with vanilla and parmesan, and fillet of venison with pumpkin tatin.
Really good food from the Region with local corresponding wine. Good service. - we had a wonderful time. 👍
Gregor S — Google review
Vicus was an unforgettable experience. Amazing food, amazing atmosphere, impeccable service. We were treated with warmth and kindness, with all staff being incredibly nice, patient, and considerate. They served a dish of sautéed local wild mushrooms that blew my mind. The cannelloni with prawns was a fresh, tasteful dish with depth and vibrancy. Even the hot sandwich with jamon, cheese, and truffle, a dish I was surprised to see amongst the rest of the sophisticated menu, was a carefully considered take on street food that raised the ceiling on what I thought a panini could be. Finally, the black rice with squid was complex and full, exhibiting a mastery of extracting the flavor from the fish into the black rice which featured a more saucy texture than traditional paella. Even the bread was impeccable, like bread you would get at expensive Parisian restaurants, and the staff brought us an appetizing first dish with anchovy-stuffed olives that was mind-blowing. On top of all this, they were considerate of my partner’s nut allergy, giving us a full allergen menu ahead of time and making sure to cater to her needs. On top of all this, Vicus is in Pals, a sleepy farming town that felt like I was being transported back to medieval times. Choose Vicus, this place was absolutely stunning.
Owen Q — Google review
I had high expectations for this place. The ambiance was great, and the staff was professional. However, I was a bit disappointed by the tomato salad and aubergine dish. The paella, on the other hand, was good, and they have a great wine selection.
Pelinsu Y — Google review
This restaurant is a real jewel with an inventive menu, great service, a lovely atmosphere and most importantly of all great food. We have now been on 5 or 6 occasions and never been disappointed. The deserts are so good we now always take 3 to share between 2.
Chris M — Google review
We had such a wonderful dinner at Vicus! Beautiful understated decor in the front room with lovely classic accents (check out the gorgeous old bar). The service was nothing short of perfect. Relaxed, friendly, but also hugely helpful with my wife's allergy and a great wine recommendation. The food was superb throughout. Standout were the rice with pork ribs, the fresh tomato/melon salad and the smoky aubergine/eel dish, but everything was fresh and excellent. Couldn't have been happier, thank you!
Holger L — Google review
A delightful meal prepared with finesse. We ordered to share the aubergine with smoked eel, brioche with spicy tuna, razor clams with carrot puree, and black rice with squid. All dishes were excellent, flavours well balanced, with perhaps the razor clams dish needing a bit of zest/acidity. My favourite and recommendation would be the brioche with spicy tuna. Service was impeccable and I loved the olives stuffed with anchovies that started off the meal.
Adrian L — Google review
The food was amazing, and the service was great. I had an allergy and the restaurant was extremely nice - they provided a detailed allergen menu and they were very happy to adapt the dishes to meet my allergy requirements! I think they deserve one star Michelin to be honest!!!
Valentina G — Google review
I enjoyed a superb meal here as a solo diner. They prepared half portions of some of the smaller dishes so that I could try a variety of things. The highlights for me were the mackerel, black rice, and lemon custard dessert; but everything was good, and the service excellent. Try this restaurant.

Restaurant El Pedró is a highly recommended dining spot in Pals, known for its classic local rice and seafood dishes served in an old-world stone building with a courtyard. The menu features traditional dishes with a modern twist, all made with high-quality ingredients. With prices around 10 euros for starters, 13 euros for main courses, and the famous Pals rice at 16.50 euros, it offers great value for money.
Food was above delicious, it was just a great experience. Catalan food, very well done, tasty and delicious. Portions were very generous and very well presented. Service was very professional, and dishes came pretty fast even though the restaurant was pretty full. We were a party of six so we had a very comfortable round table in a private room. Views of Pals are just beautiful, a medieval village up in a hill surrounded by small mountains and forest and fields. Can’t miss it!
Sara C — Google review
Exactly what you dream of in a picturesque stone village in Spain! The space is in a quiet little corner of the old town, the patio space is very ambient. Inside is very cute too! Food was lovely. A bit pricy for Spain but for the experience in Pals I would say was worth it. Definitely a bit higher end. Would totally come back!
Kyle C — Google review
A gem in Pals. Stunning building with seating inside and out. We were a group of 8 and had a private side room with air con which was a delight in the hot weather. From the moment we arrived the service was excellent and could not have been made feel more welcome, including the children and providing to their needs. The menu has a great selection of meat and fish and we ordered a variety of food including lamb, sea bass, cannelloni and salads and it was all so fresh and tasty. I would highly recommend El Pedro for a top class meal.
Laura S — Google review
I was totale not sure, if it‘s a good idea to go to the restaurant in a very touristic place. But after burger place we checked before this option looked better anyway. And I have to say all was good. We were lucky to get a table without reservation. They do have a lot of waiters, but this is not that kind of exhausting service when you can not put a spoon to your mouth without been asking if you are satisfied. All waiters were really friendly and super helpful. They did share their opinion honestly and offered you dishes with love. It’s super rare. Food was very good. Side dishes were fresh - not killed vegetables or boring free - grilled variety of everything, asparagus and great baked potato. Unfortunately we had zero space for sweets, but next time we will try it for sure! Strongly recommend to visit. Great service. Brilliant building. Super fair pricing in comparison with other places around. Better to book a table in advance.
Ksenia K — Google review
The service is very good. Everthing is good except the food. The food is terrible: the grilled food is cold. The vegetables is also cold, stale and not fresh. The vegetables looks like overnight leftover food. The grilled beef has bitter charcoal on the surface but raw inside. The surface is overcooked. The inside is undercooked.

Grt eating in picture perfect location Service was very good Went fixed menu which gave plenty of choice Recommended

Incredible! We enjoyed an amazing lunch here in October (a great time to visit Pals if you'd prefer the quiet). There is lots to choose from on the menu - I particularly enjoyed the avocado and prawn salad, croquettes and a vermut. Lovely service. The setting is so unique, I recommend sitting outside.
Charlotte J — Google review
Delightful restaurant in a stunning medieval village setting. We stumbled upon it as we wandered through Pals and enjoyed it so much we returned again. Lovely wine suggestions paired our dinner choices. Parking is just below the old walls and a great walk through the quiet village before dinner.

Antic Casino Restaurant Pals is a charming Mediterranean restaurant located in a historic house that used to be the town's casino. The restaurant features traditional décor and furniture from the olden days, adding to its unique ambiance. Their menu focuses on fresh, high-quality local ingredients prepared with a modern twist while still honoring traditional flavors. Specializing in market cuisine, they offer an array of delectable dishes including Mediterranean seafood, meat, rice, and pasta.
This was a recommended restaurant on our Empordá bicycle tour itinerary, and we had a great "menú del día" lunch there. We had the ravioli entrada, a locally grown rice dish, and the duck confit. Then the dessert was this lemon mousse - my favorite dessert on this whole trip! Lovely place, excellent food, highly recommend ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Cynthia O — Google review
What a delight this was! We have been traveling in Catalonia for weeks and Antic Casino Restaurant was one of our favorite lunch spots in all of our travels. The menu is simple, and the prices are very reasonable, but the food preparations are extremely thoughtful and sophisticated. More importantly, everything from the gazpacho to the baked fish to the accompaniments on the plate were perfectly done. A lot of the "top rated" restaurants around here can go over the top with complicated, busy plates that are more show than substance. This place is 100% substance. Fresh food prepared well with a smile, and as a bonus, the menu is a value. Recommended!
Scott — Google review
Highly recommend! Lunch menu (3 course + water, 1 wine and coffee / tea) for just 25 euros. Food quality very good. Just insane value for money. Even the tea was loose leaf served in a cast iron pot, most would charge 5 euros for just that. Great service too. Go here when you're in Pals.
Floris G — Google review
Just amazing. Each dish is prepared with perfect combination of fresh local products. We love the salad with mozzarella, it is extraordinary. Very kind staff.
Lucie P — Google review
We've been here a number of times, but today was our first visit in 4 years. We had various starters and all ate fish mains. Very decent portions and all tasted great. Service was fast, efficient and friendly; and we love the venue. We anticipated an excellent experience and we weren't let down.
Dara D — Google review
Just a really fantastic restaurant with great authentic Spanush food. Was getting sick of holiday food. Quaint and charming small venue
Robert M — Google review
We have been wanting to eat here and finally made it today. It was everything we had expected and more! Excellent food, excellent service and a most enjoyable lunch! I would highly recommend!
Jeffrey — Google review
Loved everything. We booked a table in advance, and would have been seated inside. The place has some tables right on the curb, with a few cars passing by, so we could easily rearrange to sit there. They have two great terraces. Service was very attentive and the food choices were excellent. We shared Black Paella and garlic prawns as starters, and had the most delicious white wine from Pals (Mas Geli). All in all: highly recommended.

Chicken restaurant
Can Padrès is a popular restaurant located on the outskirts of Pals, known for offering delicious and affordable meals. Specializing in roasted chicken with potatoes and alioli, it's a great option for a quick meal before or after visiting the town. Despite being frequently crowded, the service is efficient. The average price for a meal including half chicken with potatoes, toast, alioli, drink, and dessert is around 15 euros.
An excellent option in Pals for authentic roast chicken. Can Padrès offers simple but delicious food, especially its chicken, fast and friendly service, and the terrace, perfect for summer days. Great value. Reservations are recommended during peak season.
Mathew J — Google review
An old family favourite place to go. Have been a lot over the years and I’m glad it hasn’t changed much in that time. Because they do rotisserie chicken and they do it well. Tasty crispy skin, good fries. And I love to have the sangria too.
Saeran W — Google review
A must if you're in the area, it's an experience. Best chicken about. Service is impeccable. It can be busy in high season so it's good to book ahead. Also great and fast for takeaway.
Stephan H — Google review
This was the best chicken I had in my whole life! The Aioli sauce was very very good too. Was sitting indoor in climated area, so view outside was on the near street. But it is okay. Personal is very friendly and helpful.
Michael K — Google review
Best grilled chicken ever! You can eat it there (reserve a table!) or take it home, doesn’t matter, it’s amazing. It’s good to order some starters, because usually the chicken takes about 20 minutes to arrive after you order it. I’m already sad when I think about September, when they close and that I have to wait almost a whole year again for them to open. So my only suggestion: stay open for the whole year maybe just for takeaway 😁

Great little spot for chicken and chips 🍟. Does what it says on the tin

Great good and fast service for a pretty cheap price!

Restaurant Pahissa del Mas is a must-visit in Pals, known for its exquisite Michelin-starred cuisine. Situated on the outskirts of the town, this restaurant offers a unique and unforgettable explosion of flavors. The tasting menu at 58 euros per person is highly recommended for an exceptional dining experience. The restaurant is housed in a partially restored farmhouse dating back to 1352, boasting impressive architecture both inside and out. With its charming ambiance, it's particularly popular among couples.
We found this restaurant via the michelin website while on holidays in Pals. With its beautiful location in the country side, we enjoyed a wonderful dinner outside enjoying the sunset. The starter with foie gras was superb and the recommended local wine perfect. The other starter with tuna and black pasta was a taste explosion and the recommended light red wine was an excellent combination. For the main course we choose two local rice dishes. The one with wild boar and foie gras was superb, the other dish with duck and lots of pickled vegetables had a great balance in taste and texture. The desserts gave the dinner a wonderful finale, with many different sweets and tastes in two complex desserts. Lovely service with a wink and a smile listening and consulting on wine pairing and special wishes. Definitely on our list for a second visit!
Rick W — Google review
Exquisite food, great service - staff was very friendly and helpful, and lovely setting. We will definitely come back!
Elias M — Google review
Pahissa del Mas offers a magical dining experience in a beautifully restored farmhouse surrounded by rice fields; the menu is inventive yet rooted in local tradition, with standout dishes like foie gras, black squid ink pasta, and unforgettable rice creations such as wild boar with foie or duck with pickled vegetables, all perfectly paired with excellent local wines; the service is warm, knowledgeable, and attentive, with the chef often greeting guests personally, making the evening feel both intimate and special; combined with a tranquil terrace setting and exquisite desserts, this restaurant deserves every one of its five stars.
Stephen W — Google review
This has been the discovery of the summer … the food amazing but, the people is what makes this place “a must” to visit! Highly recommended ! Suggestions: the Foie and wildporc paella… spectacular !
Raquel S — Google review
Really lovely family run restaurant. I tried the sea cucumber rice, which I've never had before, and it was delicious. They have a very good wine selection. The desserts were so good we ordered another one!
Naila A — Google review
Amazing experience with a view. We had great meals. And every bonus desserts were great. And olives were great..look at these plates!
Xenia P — Google review
A truly excellent restaurant that absolutely deserves its rating. We were a group of eight and the staff always knew exactly who had ordered what—service was simply top-notch. The quality of the food left nothing to be desired, and the price-performance ratio was spot on. We had a wonderful evening here. I can wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant to anyone—it's definitely worth it.

Restaurant La Vila is a family-run establishment located in the heart of Pals, offering a rustic setting with a terrace. It's known for its great local cuisine at reasonable prices, making it popular among both locals and tourists. The menu features tapas, grilled meats, seafood, and regional rice dishes. The restaurant prides itself on using local products to prepare traditional Catalan dishes such as caldereta and entrecot.
Looking for a restaurant around 16:30 in Pals was An adventure. In the end we found la Vila. The service they provided was very good. All our wishes were fulfilled. We ordered 2 menu a casa for 26€ and 2 menu del rice for 23€. The portions and the taste were very good. I recommend this restaurant.
Pascal H — Google review
A wonderful restaurant. Regional products. Delicious food and sangria. The atmosphere of this place exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend it!
A S — Google review
Greatest service, worst chefs The steak was straight up not edible, looked like they wanted to kill you with food poisoning. On the contrary, the chicken was almost too dry to eat. However, they shine at sea food and I really enjoyed the calamares. The portions were unfortunately too tiny for the price. Didn’t get me full. I am disheartened that it wasn’t good
De4dluck — Google review
La Vila is a great choice for enjoying tasty local dishes in a cozy setting. The menu offers traditional recipes with fresh ingredients, and the portions are generous. The staff is kind and attentive, creating a relaxed atmosphere. Perfect for a nice meal with friends or family, highly recommended if you’re in the area.
Al D — Google review
We had great traditional food here. The salad was fresh, the cheeses exceptional. We were warmly welcomed and had a great lunch here. The cheese platter was spectacular with the cheeses having a very strong and beautifully ripened taste, cannot recommend highly enough. The food is not culinarily exceptional but good local fare that was prepared fast and with great taste.
PWF R — Google review
My friends and I were visiting Pals for a quick stop, and tried this restaurant. Omg, this place is a hidden gem! Black paella is the best with soft squid and not too salty sauce. Sangria is awesome. Seven of us left with full stomach and wasn't too pricey. Definitely recommend this place if you are visiting Pals.
Dami C — Google review
They couldn't seat 7, but found us neighbouring tables for 4 and 3.. and did everything they could to give us some of the most delicious uncomplicated food I have ever tasted, with beautiful wine and dessert to follow. The service was superb in every respect, friendly and full of enthusiasm for the food and the experience. Loved this place. Thank you!!
Matt S — Google review
Great location, great food and more than fair quality - price relation. They use local products and cook all kind of tasty traditional Catalan dishes. The caldereta and entrecot are definitely two outstanding options of a la carte. They also offer a menu rice option for a good price. Portions are big. The service was attentive and all waiters were nice from the very beginning. Important recommendation - book before going there. It gets full quick and you might need to wait if you don’t have a reservation.

Situated near the medieval town of Pals and Costa Brava beaches, it provides top-quality cuisine using locally sourced ingredients. Guests have praised the friendly staff, excellent food, and service at both the restaurant and hotel.
Well worth a visit, very relaxing, fantastic food and wonderful service. After really enjoying or meal previously we have returned 4 years later to stay at the hotel for 3 nights. So glad that we have, everything has been perfect, wonderful friendly staff excellent food and service, outdoor pool for residents only which has been perfect for a relaxing swim and chill time on the sun beds after a full day walking around the hills. Our room El Balcaret is exceptional, fantastic soundproofing so no traffic noise, spacious and beautifully designed and decorated. The hotel is Michelin starred, so expect wonderful meals all day including a fantastic breakfast. Would highly recommend well worth a visit to treat yourself.

It’s true… the building and rooms are very good but the service people need to learn more hospitality… the restaurant is very good, too. The building and rooms deserve five stars definitely, the service (depending on the person) 2-4 stars … some of them don’t seem to get the idea… some of them are good at what they do but need some tuitions still… yeah it’s hard to hear but there are good schools for this. The food is good and the “big living rooms” with coffee machine and magazines and couches are nice. Had two magic moments there. The reflection in the window and the moment with the dove. 🕊️ The pool is rather not worth it.

This was the worst experience we’ve ever had in a hotel/restaurant. My husbands’ parents were guests at the hotel. They arrived in Spain after two days of driving and we would -already in Catalunya - pick them up to go out to diner. We were a bit early, however. After arriving at the gated entrance of the hotel we were, after a weird talk over the intercom, let in. (My husband speaks Spanish fluently, so there was no language barrier.) We were just parking our car when we were - literally! - halted by the receptionist. He then forbade us to enter the hotel (“You are no guest here.”) When my husband explained that his parents were, we were told that it made no difference. We then asked whether there was a bar where we could wait 15 minutes, so that mum and dad - both seniors - wouldn’t need to rush. Again, a harsh no followed. (“Yes, we have a bar. But only for guests.”) He then marched off. In 30 years of coming to the Costa Brava - our second home - and after years of visiting and more than a decade of working in Michelin-starred restaurants and five star hotels, we have never encountered such an enormous lack of hospitality. This was shameful and a disgrace. Needless to say: we, and my parents in law, will never set a foot (again) in Es Portal.

Rice menu 55 euro Nice starters, rice (palella ) was delicious !! Apple desert amazing and I am not a fan of apple:) Location amazing ! Only issue is service, wrong attitude ,it takes time before they smile and antending time to long. People need to feel welcome if not people will not come back even if the food is good .
Seda M — Google review
The room was decently equipped, and spacious. The table service can be alot improved, we couldnt communicate in English about the food so much and they seemingly didn't even want to attempt to try. In general the staff could have been more friendly. The food was OK, I have experienced better in this area. The wine tasting was just one type of wine with three different colour! Overall it was an ok experience. A bit overpriced.

One of the best meals I had during my time in Spain! Be sure to order the tasting menu with the wine pairings. Every dish was perfect and the wine pairings were spot on. I even enjoyed a beetroot dish when I don't normally care for beets and I ate dessert, which I usually skip.

What an amazing place, the chef is really a genius, able to combine fresh ingredients from his garden and from the sea in a masterful way. The menu is highly recommended to really be taken on a journey by the chef. Service is impeccable, very friendly, feels like you are a long time guest even if it’s your first time there. A Culinary Experience of the Highest Order This restaurant is an absolute gem for anyone who appreciates gourmet dining at its finest. From the very first moment, the service was outstanding—every member of the staff was incredibly attentive, warm, and courteous. You immediately feel welcome and in good hands. One true highlight was the salad: so fresh and crisp, it tasted as if it came straight from the garden—an absolute delight. The rest of the meal was equally exquisite, prepared with great care and attention to detail. If you're looking to spend an elegant evening in a relaxed atmosphere while enjoying first-class cuisine, this is the place to be. This restaurant is a must—we'll definitely be coming back!

We keep coming back to Sol Blanc for its unbeatable home-cooked meals, where every dish feels like it’s made with love. We’re regulars here for a reason—perfect food, excellent service, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere.

Lovely experience for my mom’s 60s. We chose serval small dishes, a rice dish and some desserts. The quality was evenly good, ingredients were as fresh as it gets. The green salad was one of the highlights. Desserts were delicious too. Price for value is great, considering the quality of the service and ingredients used. The facilities are very nicely decorated, rustic style. Well deserved place in the Michelin guide.

One of my favorite finds on the Costa Brava. We were here 3 years ago and everything was perfect! Service to food quality. Decided to try their on the lunch with family and friends, and it was a masterpiece!!!!; Everything was very very tasty. The service was top notch. The atmosphere is perfect. Thanks to the restaurant for a perfect Sunday.

I love this place and it’s the best in the area for Catalan Cuisine. Great wine celler and bar and well thought through. This is a foodie heaven - everything is thought through, the dry aged entrecot, sobrasada etc. all incredible. Worth a visit, try everything on the menu and go to war on the wine list. Great night!

Restaurant Mar Blau is a hidden gem that offers an unforgettable dining experience with stunning views of the sea. The menu boasts an impressive variety, featuring everything from fresh fish and seafood to hearty paellas, salads, meats, and even pizza—perfect for any palate. Diners rave about the generous portion sizes, especially the delectable chipirones and pulpos. One standout dish is their black rice paella, which many claim to be the best they've ever tasted.
The best hiden restaurant !!! One Waiter is most happy and funniest in the World. If you come there please ask for „Hannover”- a lot laught guarantee. Ps. IF this name is it true - maybe it is also joke ;-)

Terrible food. Worst burger in years and the vegetables on it (or on plates of other guests around us) looked like they already were past expiration date for a week. Definitely would recommend to steer clear of this place or maximum get a drink when you're at the beach.

Tucked away on a quiet street in Palafrugell, Pa i Raïm Restaurant is housed in a charming Art Nouveau building that was once the residence of Catalan writer Josep Pla. The restaurant's interior exudes elegance, featuring beautifully decorated dining rooms, a lovely winter garden, and a tree-shaded terrace. The seasonal menu showcases a delightful blend of traditional Emporda cuisine and contemporary flavors.
Utterly delicious. We had the sharing menu for €70 each and it was a delight, and very innovative, but a bit too much food for me. Next time I go I'll have the smaller option. The place is really pretty and the staff lovely.

We both got sick and had to leave during the main course of the Menu para compartir, nothing looked fresh, particularly the shrimp. I threw up in their toilets. Water is not brought in a closed bottle also. We left before the deserts because we could not handle it anymore. The waitress was nice and told the owner but she refused to do any gesture, arguing that were the only ones. Never ever again

Catalonian restaurant
I had a fantastic time at the Catalan eatery, Restaurant Ca la Teresa. I visited for both lunch and dinner and was highly impressed with the fresh and well-prepared food. The service provided by the staff was friendly, and I found the price-quality ratio of both the dishes and wines to be excellent. This hidden gem may not be on the typical tourist path, but we were fortunate enough to stumble upon it thanks to a local's recommendation.
Great food, fast service and great availability from the staff. Recommended stop if you want to have lunch with a real typical local cuisine.

Such a gem!!! the location is absolutely stunning... and the food was amazing! We ordered: turffle fries, cheese, ribs, chicken (so flavorful). Absolutely recommended!
Javiera M — Google review
We visited this restaurant as a group of 15 (7 adults and several kids). Unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing from start to finish. First, it took far too long to get our drinks and place our food order. The kids were served first (which is fine), but for the adults, four plates arrived first and the remaining three came 20 minutes later, meaning we couldn’t eat together as a group. The worst part was the barbecue. The meat we received was clearly not in good condition — it had an unpleasant taste and seemed spoiled. We informed the server, who took the food away, but the chef insisted it was fine. This was unacceptable. To make matters worse, the cheesecake we ordered for dessert was completely melted. It was obvious to us that the fridge was not working properly, which would explain both the poor state of the meat and the dessert. Overall, we left with the strong impression that the food safety and service standards at this restaurant are well below acceptable levels. We cannot recommend it.
Federico G — Google review
Great place. The corvina cold appetizer was amazing. The solomillo was ok - they over cooked it but it may have been my Spanish as it is not good yet …. Great venue. Quick (good and bad) service. Ok wine list. Plenty of parking. . Great for kids and I will 100% be back! Thank you ….
Jon A — Google review
A gentle place for lunch, not easy to find because set deep into the woods, but worth the effort. Staff were very welcoming and the food was excellent -- we each had an amazing tomato salad, and then the fish from the market, done on the barbecue, recommended.
Sooty A — Google review
The location is truly amazing, but our experience was kind of dissapointing. The food is quite OK. Unfortunately only one of the staff members was approachable and friendly. The others really acted like they didn’t care. No eye contact, not checking in if everything was okay. We commented on this lack of hospitality and the explanation was that one waiter had a bad night and it’s also the end of the season. That is not what hospitality is about; a guest should not experience bad vibes because of personal issues or because the season has almost come to an end.
Inge C — Google review
Amazing food in a beautiful location amongst the trees. All the food is cooked over fire or smoke and you can really taste it. The ribs were delicious, fantastic flavour and the meat fell entirely off the bone. We also had the entrecôte which again had a great charcoal grilled flavour. The sides were also very good including bravas and the provolone. The service was attentive, they spoke Spanish English and French and the food came out in good time. The setting is in the forrest amongst the trees with most tables outside and few inside on a veranda. The way they have used the space gives a unique and relaxed atmosphere that we really enjoyed. The bill came to €76 for 2 people for more food than we could eat and a few drinks, which is great value considering the quality. So overall a genuine 5/5, excellent!
Jack N — Google review
Not for me . I ate here yesterday and didn’t enjoy it. Pretty sure they use sous-vide for everything — the meat had that weirdly soft, almost boiled texture, and lacked any real flavor . Maybe tourists don’t notice, but if you care about how meat should taste, this isn’t the place. Staff were friendly and the location’s nice, but the food just didn’t do it for me.
Jj D — Google review
The first 15 minutes were excellent, but afterwards the difference in service between staff members became noticeable. After our starters, (please try the tartare) the service went downhill. When I asked about it, the explanation given was that one of the staff hadn’t slept well and the whole team was tired from the busy season. In my opinion, that’s not something guests should feel. That said, the food itself was really good. One staff member, Ainhoa, stood out with a personality fit for hospitality and kindness. (Especially towards children.) Make her (floor) manager and have her set the bar for the rest of the team and you’ll be fine.

Food is great at very competitive prices and the atmosphere is just so authentic. Loved the cold beers, my girl liked the wine, food was good and had a great coffee. Service very nice, pretty fast and friendly. Girl greeted us at the begging, and boys made good job as weiters. Food wonderful: pizza carbonara, patatas bravas and bread with tomato and olive oil. I asked about white local wine and got delicious one. Garden looks amazing and there is well atmosphere, accompanied with relaxing music. Kitchen is open and i could see cook who was fast and focused on his work, calm, not nervous. I recommend the place!!

If you ever find yourself wandering the charming streets of Pals, make sure you stop at Grava Pals Cafe & Restaurant – and when you do, ask for Pablo. Seriously. This man is a hospitality legend in the making. We came for pizza, and wow… wood-fired perfection! The dough had just the right crunch-to-chew ratio, and the toppings were both delicious and delightfully original. The menu had pizzas in different price ranges, which was a nice surprise – great for any budget. I ordered a Capricciosa and asked for extra capers. No problem at all – Pablo made sure it happened with a smile. To wash it down, I tried a local craft beer – the Sour – and it was absolutely spot-on. We sat outside under soft string lights with relaxed music playing in the background. The terrace is divided into different cozy areas, each with its own charm, so you can pick your vibe. Admittedly, our arrival was a little bumpy. The hostess was polite, but the welcome felt a bit unclear and not especially warm. Luckily, Pablo swooped in like the customer service superhero he clearly is – friendly, attentive, and genuinely nice. We left happy, full, and slightly regretful that we forgot to order their famous coffee. But hey, that’s the perfect excuse to come back. And we will – hopefully to see Pablo again!

Second time I leave without having ordered. First time I waited for 20 minutes for a coffee that never arrived on a quiet morning. Today we didn’t even get to place our order. I’ve been coming here since they opened and though the place is great, pizzas are good the service is consistently bad. Waiting time when there’s no one around, no one seems to know what their role is and it all seems utterly disorganized. If you’ve got plenty of time and patience place is cool and pizzas are good. I’d love it if they could train staff and manage things better 🙏🏻

Service very bad. Food came up cold and in stages instead of all at once. Drinks came 30 minutes later after the food. We had to ask for drinks 3 times before they arrived. Bar completely out of sync with the kitchen. Would liked to have marked food higher if it had been hot. Staff are all young and seemingly without supervision.

Such a wonderful place to wind down. They really serve the best coffee in town, and the atmosphere is super chill. We made a reservation to have dinner here straight away since the menu looked very promising. I can't wait to have a delicious iced coffee here again, enjoy some chill lounge music, smell the lavender plants, and wind down from another great day here. Ow, and there's a playground for kids strategically placed next door too. ✨

One of the coolest spots in Costa Brava. The garden is unique and the food is great. I would recommend the Paella as they use local Pals rice. The staff is super professional. I took my family here at a busy time and they accommodated all our needs including helping with baby chairs. They have their own parking space at the site. I would recommend this place to anyone who is visiting Costa Brava.

This fairly large restaurant in beautiful tourist village. We liked it we only had nachos and coffee. Our friends had meal which was very nice too. We only ordered nachos to share no problem with them being two plates to share. I think “swan “ action smooth and calm at top and feet going ten to the dozen. He credit to your restaurant ( chap with left arm in strapping ) Food was lovely too. The food was pretty good, the servers were attentive enough, but the flies! There were swarms of flies that landed on us, the food, it was intolerable. They had rotating fly-scaring devices, but not enough for every table, and most of them were low on batteries, so ran too slowly and were ineffective. It's too bad, because it was a nice location, but the fly swarms were just disgusting. I recommend large fans to make it more difficult for the flies to land, and maybe a fly zapper light? Definitely more of the quitamoscas machines, even though they were fairly ineffective.

Quite surprised at some of the recent reviews, yes they were quick off the mark but when we said we need 5 more mins we were fine. Didn't feel rushed at all, there was a buzzy atmosphere. We had a nut allergy which they happily looked into for us on certain dishes......I thought for the price and the food it was cheap 6 of us ate. Couple of things to note, no individual kids menu and the burger didn't come with a bun which they told us about so we changed what we were having. Is it a fine dining relaxing restaurant no but throughly enjoyable anyway
Soraya B — Google review
we were there last Saturday for lunch. we were assigned a table and stayed there until it started to get VERY hot, it being 2:00 PM outside. we asked the waiter several times to turn on a fan for us, having a baby who was only a year old with us. he turned it on for us after we asked him for the 3rd time, then it turned off. we went back for the 4th time to their manager (identified by different clothing and a very "different" spirit, let's say). she told me “ok”, but nothing changed. 20 minutes later, we were there with the same problem. The lady had meanwhile passed by our table and back again, with a hesitant look, she didn't bother to tell us why that air couldn't be opened or even the one behind us. Another ten minutes later, I stood up and respectfully asked her to provide feedback or understanding to her customers next time when they ask something. FEEDBACK is important, right? even if what we ask for cannot be fulfilled for various reasons! she told me that it's just busy and can't handle it. can't you handle coming back and saying if it's possible or not and why not? for a 100€ meal i think it would have been worth it. zero staff and service. i'll leave a picture of my burger

This is not about Michelin stars but quality of simple food and excellent service. It has been a long time since I last experienced so much attention by staff over clients’ needs. Ideal for families with kids as they have a playground… and as a bonus you can park across the street at the supermarket parking! Congratulations Niff Niff !

I ordered the carbonara and didn’t expect it to taste like school cafeteria food. The pizza wasn’t better either. The food felt like it had been frozen and reheated. Overrated place

I don't know about the other food, but the pizzas are tiny. When I opened the pizza box I started laughing because I thought it was a joke. Also, they are 8€, which is extremely overprice for what you get. I'm never coming back. Here are some photos of the tiny pizza.

Restaurant Les Dunes is a pleasant establishment with amicable personnel. The cuisine, although slightly expensive compared to other establishments, provides a satisfactory option in the vicinity. The paella offered is enjoyable but lacks uniqueness. It serves as an ideal location to indulge in fresh seafood near the seaside. The staff is exceptionally affable and accommodating, ensuring prompt service. Limited proficiency in English but conversant in French can be observed among them.
excellent restaurant!! a family favourite for many years with delicious food and fantastic paella. Service is great too

Les Dunes Restaurant in Girona, Costa Brava, Spain, offers a fantastic location right on the beach. The food is truly delicious, with a variety of options to suit everyone, including kids and vegetarians. The paella and fresh seafood are standout dishes. The restaurant is spacious, with a great view and free parking. Prices are reasonable and fit various budgets. Drinks are refreshing, and the desserts are exceptional. Overall, it’s a great spot for a satisfying meal with a beautiful view.

It looks like most of the Staffel are New in the Job and even they are unable to use the reservation system (see the attached Foto, as they canceled my reservation and I was there since over half hour 🤣

the food is nearly ok but far from a good paella. i guess, you’ll be happy if you don’t eat Spanish food often, but if you know what it should be like you’ll be quite disappointed. rice floating in broth??? avocado salad with mayo (salsa rosa), shrimps, strawberry and prunes??? clams in tomato paste?? all this for over 40€ per person with home wine. i mean, in Spain you can get this bill for an exquisite food. if the bill was around 30€ i guess i’d be happy with the quality. the service was friendly and the view of the beach fantastic, so i’d say it’s a 3 out of 5.

Pipirrana is nothing to do wit original U have to cut them very smaller and no eggs and tuna but maybe octobus inside More olive oil and vinagre Mussels marinada to much liquid not intense The rest was ok Also bread was to much undercooked and service looks like fast food track to fast serving

This place is very chaotic and it’s very hard to get a table. As a vegetarian, the options are very limited. I asked for a vegetarian paella, they said they didn’t have that, I asked for a gazpacho and they said they didn’t have that either. I decided to opt for a tortilla de patata and pan con tomate as I didn’t want to order a salad. The food was very good but the pan con tomate took ages to come. The servers didn’t really try to find other vegetarian options in the menu or outside the menu like many other restaurants do. The rest of my family liked the food a lot, especially the paella even though it took so long to come but they did complain about the bathrooms which were quite dirty.

Friendly staff. The food is ok and a little pricey compared with other places, but it is a good option in the surroundings. The paella is good, but nothing special.

If you're on the hunt for an unforgettable pizza experience, look no further than Tapizzati. This gem offers a delightful array of pizzas that are cooked to perfection in a traditional oven, resulting in a crispy base and fresh toppings that burst with flavor. The service is impressively swift and friendly, ensuring your steaming hot meal arrives promptly after you settle in. During my two visits, I was consistently impressed by the quality of both the pizzas and other dishes like their tender lamb kotletts.
Fantastic staff and excellent food! We dropped in with no reservation on a sat night and the team were very accommodating! 3 pizzas and a side of calamari was all delicious, highly recommend

This place truly deserves a review! Very child-friendly and respectful, with incredibly hardworking staff. The food was absolutely delicious – both the pizzas and the pastas were excellent. We can only recommend it and would happily come back again. Definitely deserving of a tip! PS: A reservation is a must, as it gets busy quickly.

We visited Tapizzati twice during our stay and were impressed both times! The pizza was delicious—crispy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked—and the lamb kotletts were absolutely amazing, tender and full of flavor. Service was excellent: quick, friendly, and attentive. Highly recommended if you’re looking for great food and a warm atmosphere!

Good price and also very tasty. I had a salad Di Casa and it was very fresh. Perfect after hanging out at the beach ! The sangria is also authentic.

I just had one of the best pizza experiences in a long time! The quality of the pizza here is top-tier. The base was cooked to perfection with that authentic, slightly crispy texture you only get from a proper pizza oven. The toppings were fresh and delicious. I have to give a special mention to the service. We had barely settled in our chairs before our steaming hot pizzas arrived at the table. It's clear their efficient oven plays a big role in this, and it makes a huge difference. Considering the high quality of the food and the excellent, speedy service, the prices are more than fair. It's rare to find a place that scores so highly on all points: taste, speed, and value. I can't recommend it enough!

This afternoon, I visited a charming small terrace that exuded coziness. To my astonishment, a young boy attended to us and took our order. Not only did he serve us, but he also cooked the food himself - an incredible surprise! Initially, I only intended to order something simple, assuming it would take a while. However, everything happened swiftly and efficiently - the burgers and pizza were delightful.
We have gone this afternoon to this small terrace that looks very cozy .. we arrived and we were attended by a boy who, to our amazement, took us the command and served us and also cooked us WOW how amazing it can be? We thought at first to tell him that it is okay and that we will only take something because we thought it would take but again WOW was all very fast the burgers and pizza was very nice sure we will bring our friends here my girlfriend and I are happy service five stars THANK YOU

Tourist trap in it's best. The place is in a incredible location, it's beautiful and very appealing however, once you sit in the place you notice that the quality of the menu and the service is not matching the price they are asking for. The menu is not updated, they did not have many items in the drink list. The logo mentioned they have the best beef burger. I ordered it and it was half burned. Very disappointed. It's a pity because they could do so much better but it remained as tourist trap.

Tapas bar
I recently visited Empordanet1842 Bar Tapas for a small dinner in mid-June 2021. The menu is uncomplicated, yet the food was of exceptional quality. The roast chicken had a delightful taste, and the French fries were served with freshly fried vegetables - a brilliant concept. The presentation was executed with care and discernment. The wine selection was impressive, along with the pleasing coffee and attentive service.
We wanted to sit and drink a coffee and the owner didn't leave it to sit and he was super rude with us. Just a single table was occupied, and plenty of free tables. I haven't met someone with this attitude, to be honest.
Elena V — Google review
I approached them to ask if I can buy water. The owner came , and told me in an extremely unfriendly way “in the shop” in Spanish, and was shooing me away. I was a bit taken away, said ok, that was a bit rude, and was leaving. He yelled after me that I am stupid - so i turned back, and asked sorry what? I was actually quite calm but surprised. He came super close to me and started yelling how i dare speak to him like this in his house, and that i am stupid. I told him i just wanted water as it is very hot. Anyways he continued to yell at me. I am not surprised by the many similar experiences. He also doesn’t have yo change because he is literally the only bar in the area. Anyways i would rather dry out than go back there.

Cranking owner. Very rude to kids. Shouted at the children for trying to purchase an ice cream by opening the door, he could have said it in a much nicer manner. nicer establishment elsewhere in pals.

I love the place, excellent food, the owner is not rude at all, he wants respect, which is very normal. We have been eating there for years and I can say Javi really became a true friend. Already counting the days that we can go back there and enjoy quality food and a very nice time.
Yolande R — Google review
Today my dad visited the town, got closer to see the menu, and immediately someone who said he was the owner came out and almost pushed him away saying that people like him cannot be there. My dad is a quiet middle age man from Italy, on a holiday with my mom. Regardless, there is no excuse to treat ANYONE like this, and seeing the poor reviews of this place, I am not surprised. I really do not recommend it
Lucia C — Google review
Unfriendly, rude, and ill-mannered owner. I approached him to use the toilet, however he did not realize I was a customer and he gave me a cross signal with his arms conveying I go back. Bartenders were nice though. And on top of that crazy expensive. Stay away!

The atmosphere and location are really nice and cozy. The food, however, was just okay—nothing special, and in some cases even bland. We ordered a poke bowl from the recommended menu, but it didn’t have any salt or sauces. The beef tongue also had no spices or standout flavor. Maybe we were just unlucky with the chef that day, but honestly, we wouldn’t come back for the food.

Real shame, waitress was lovely, good position, starters average patatas bravas good, main course fish served cold. salmon part raw so inedible and chicken and chips after waiting over an hour was served raw. How can a meal be so wrong. I can see why the restaurant is part empty. Really disappointing.

Can Padrès 2 is a must-visit culinary gem nestled in the stunning Costa Brava, celebrated for its mouthwatering rotisserie chicken. This family-friendly eatery creates an inviting atmosphere where comfort food reigns supreme. Guests rave about the perfectly spiced chicken and irresistibly crispy fries, all at reasonable prices. We come here every year, at least once or twice, when on our holidays. We are not really chicken and chips people normally, but this place is out of this world for good, old-fashioned comfort food and never disappoints. They don’t do many things on the menu, but they do them all so very well. Very well priced, supremely moreish chips, beautifully spiced chicken and the Alioli is mentally good. (Beware, punchy, but if you like garlic, do not miss it). Please open a branch in London😀

Heavenly spiced and tenderly cooked chicken dish in the area and worth the money. The chicken dishes can be ordered per 1/4 or 1/2 chicken. Friendly employees in an informal setting. The fries are baked in sunflower oil which helps to make it taste wonderful!

The owner is extremely rude and disrespectful and the food is not good. Last time we visited we booked a table and when we arrived at the restaurant the owner asked us to wear the face mask. Arrived for a 2pm lunch for 6 adults and 3 children sitting in the garden outside which was very pleasant. The lunch menu was expensive so we skipped starters choosing just mains and drinks. The service was incredibly slow in taking our orders which wasn't too much of a problem as we weren't in a hurry and the situation was very pleasant. But the service continued to get worse, necessitating us to constantly go inside to order drinks. When we did get table service the waiting staff appeared as though they preferred to be elsewhere. Drinks didn't arrive, so again after a long wait we went inside to order. Such a shame

Worst service! Avoid! We entered the place - the lady at the bar looked at us, so she clearly saw us but paid no attention and not even a hello!!! And continued writing something in her book. We stood at least 2 minutes right in front of her. But the 'queen' was too busy with her records so no attention to us. Finally another lady came and took us to the table, giving us one menu for a group of 4 people. And then we waited and waited seeing how 'superbusy' waiters are floating around. After not being paid attention to order at least water and drinks for 12(!) min, we just left. This place clearly shows not only the ignorance and rudeness and non professionalism of the service staff (yet they are champions so far!) but this is a clear message of the owners that the clients are considered as junk. IGNORE AND AVOID! and let the others know.

Guests appreciate the friendly service and reasonable prices, making it an excellent choice for those seeking good food in a welcoming atmosphere.
Well, this was really a surprise for us. While looking for a place to eat that evening, we found that place. Apparently a restaurant founded in 1850, oldish style, really needing a relooking inside and outside! But the food caught our whole attention! Very good for what expected, especially the Nostra Burger that our kids enjoyed very much. The prices are very affordable, the food is quite good, the staff is very kind, but needs to improve the design. OK overall.

We came following a 4* by Google and it is not worth of it. Small plates for the price of them. The man who translated the menu for us was really kind and useful, but the woman who got the food was no so kind. High price for low quality and quantity.

I'd like to say that we went here as a last option. If the food is not of the best quality and there is a lack of staff, meaning they do not spend money on their salaries, why is the menu so expensive? I don't even want to start about how the quality and service gets worse and worse.

Braai BBQ & Lounge Bar is an excellent dining option with a fantastic ambiance and delicious cuisine. The absence of reservations isn't a hassle as you can simply request a table upon arrival or opt for the bar area while enjoying a drink. The wait time for a table is minimal, which is impressive. The menu offers an extensive selection of meals at affordable prices. However, the staff's constant presence to check if you've finished can be slightly intrusive.
A few steps from the beach, you can enjoy a drink in a small garden, "chill ambiance". The cocktails are nicely made without being overpriced. Wines, selection of beer and softs The restaurant is really made for this place : local meat, homemade pizza, dessert. Pretty much any European will find something nice to eat. It's not an 8 page long menu, but at least it's not frozen .. The staff is welcoming, smiling and professional

Food was decent. Mojito was bitter, almost as if it had been overmuddled or premade. When confronted, owner argued we must be used to cheap alcohol, while not really using any rum that could be even remotely considered top notch. There was one waiter who was actually polite amd nice, I'd give 5 stars to him but definately not to the place overall

Quality of food great especially the meat and pizza’s. Place is crowded with Dutch people so keep this in mind, they tend to act like they “own” the place. Some quest are smoking by the table, extremely rude and gross for others. They should make a policy against this. Judging on the ashtrays on the tables it’s still common practice in Spain unfortunately.
Lucius S — Google review
The food was good, although we asked to change the sauce that came with the steak because we didn’t like it. The place is very nice, on a hot day you are still sitting in a chilled place. Talking about sitting, I found it a pity that they would offer plastic chairs without any type of cushion as in summer it’s not ideal as it would just be sticky and sweaty. But the food and location is good and the relation quality/price too.

Great place to eat. Great atmosphere and food itself. You can not make reservation but that is no problem. Once you arrive you can ask for a table and if they do not have a table you can sit at the bar to have a drink. You will not have to wait long before you get a table which is great. There was a large variety in meals and all for a great price. However the staff would constantly walk around you to see if you finished already which was less. But overall it was good.

We've been coming to Catalonia for a couple of years now, but we've only discovered "Braai" recently. In short, we're committed to coming back here. The service is fantastic. The people are really friendly and go out of their way to make you comfortable. We had our children with us and they made them feel welcome. The food is the best food we've had for that price in the area. Amazing cocktails and the deserts where a sight to behold. And the atmosphere makes you feel like you belong. Like being at a BBQ in the evening with friends. As a family, we've found our place that we will go to and eat when we're here, no doubt. Top marks.

Restaurant Golf de Pals is a lovely club house with a traditional atmosphere and an excellent menu. The golfers' menu offers a main course and dessert at a reasonable price, featuring delicious options like slow-cooked pork and mushrooms, as well as properly cooked rib-eye steak. The desserts are unique, including pineapple cannelloni with cottage cheese and apple soup with floating ice cream. The golf course itself is described as pleasant, beautifully laid out, and well-maintained with fast greens.

Lovely club house old traditional feel with an excellent menu. Golfers menu 15.50 a main and a desert. I had slow coked pork and mushrooms delicious even though it was a big portion I finished the list. My husband had rib eye steak cooked properly. Deserts were different I had pineapple canaloni with cottage cheese and my husband had apple soup with floating ice cream which he said was very refreshing. Plenty of choice on the A la carte menu including special rice menu we will be back as there are a few things I want to try.

The Restaurant El Romaní offers delicious calzone and ham pizzas that are incredibly satisfying. The calzone is filled with an abundance of ingredients, providing a flavorful experience. The staff is welcoming and accommodating, ensuring a pleasant dining experience for families by providing a designated area for children to play. It is regrettable that the restaurant was not visited earlier during the holiday as it would have been a delightful addition to the dining options.

In August 2022, I couldn't resist sharing my thoughts on Malapascua, a tapas restaurant that stands out from the rest and has now become a top choice for me. With a diverse menu catering to every palate, unique flavor combinations, stunning presentation, and delightful tastes, this place is an absolute must-try. What's even better is that all of this comes at a reasonable price point of 45 Euros for two people sharing. The food here is truly exceptional!
Little gem of a place. Just order anything and it will taste good. Had the Chinese noodle and vegetable wok, grilled dorado, patatas bravas, roasted cauliflower, grilled halloumi, rump steak, mango and coconut crumble. Enjoyed every dish. Good value for money.

A hidden gem in Pals! In between hamburger places, pizzerias and sport bars, there is this incredibly delicious and sophisticated restaurant. Its tapas menu makes it perfect to share and try different things. I highly recommend the cauliflower, surprisingly good in its simplicity, and the lamb: probably my favourite dish of the year. Very balanced flavours in all the dishes. A reservation is recommended. Great job guys.

Comedor Verdor is an exceptional eatery offering a limited yet exquisite selection of dishes. The menu is concise, but the culinary creations are truly remarkable. The average cost for a meal here is around $35, and the restaurant's ambiance showcases a unique and distinctive bamboo-inspired decor. This establishment has garnered praise for its intimate atmosphere and phenomenal cuisine. (Translated by Google) Restaurant designed for locals and tourists. The food is good, but nothing out of this world. The prices are outrageous: a tomato salad (1 tomato and that's it) with a little cheese €12? It seems like they're kidding you. The comments that say it's the best food they've ever tasted, I think they've never tasted a tomato or vegetable from the garden. The price-quality ratio is very weak, since for what you pay the quantities are very small. We went there with a group of 5, and after ordering, the waiter told us that we had ordered little food, that "the ideal is to order a starter and a main course per person", and now... The bread they serve you is a bread similar to Moroccan bread, which they charge more than €2 for a 1/4 loaf portion (without indicating it anywhere) when you can buy a whole loaf for €1 and a little. And the desserts (like almost everything right now) are very expensive, but charging €7 for 1 and a half scoops of ice cream (look at the photos) seems insulting to me. The space is beautiful and curious, hidden among reeds and away from everything, the only thing that makes it worthwhile. For the same price (€35/person approx) you can eat in other better places and not go hungry. The waiters are not too friendly either, I would say that a correct treatment is enough. As other comments say, you can only pay in cash, they don't give you a receipt, and the bill is a handwritten sheet that you can't take with you. We won't repeat it. No repetirem pas.

(Translated by Google) We went for dinner as a group of 6 people and the experience was really disappointing in terms of service. Among the dishes we ordered, one was a hamburger (one of the few options they offer), but it was so extremely salty that it was inedible. In addition, the meat had a very bad taste, clearly in bad condition. We notified the waiter and asked him to change it, but his reaction was reluctant, with a very bad attitude. He took the plate, but never brought a replacement. The most surprising thing was that, when the bill arrived, the hamburger still appeared charged! We complained, quite rightly, but the waiter insisted that it had to be paid. Finally, he even called the owner and passed the call to us to convince us that we had to pay. A surreal and unacceptable situation: bad food, worse attention and zero willingness to resolve an obvious error. We will definitely not be going back and would not recommend it to anyone. To top it off, you could only pay in cash and you couldn't take the ticket with you. It cost us €290 between 6 people.

(Translated by Google) Well-kept and beautiful place. Reasonable prices, and I don't argue with the cash system—to each their own. Quality food. I argue a lot about not taking calls and not wanting to make reservations. If you don't want to be found, don't search on Google Maps. If you want a very select, niche clientele, I'd say Barcelona's Upper East Side isn't exactly a group of independent avant-garde artists. Note: Exclusivity doesn't have to be at odds with friendliness. Thank you, and goodbye. (Original) Lugar bien cuidado y bonito. El Corriol Pals beach is a charming restaurant and bar located just 20 meters from the sea in Pals, Spain. Despite some mixed reviews, many visitors have praised the delicious food and friendly service at this beachside establishment. Some diners appreciated the generous portions and well-cooked dishes, such as the flavorful hamburger made with a real steak. While there were comments about limited side dishes, it seems to be part of the local dining experience.

At La Mediterrània, I indulged in a delightful selection of tapas that were not only delicious but also quite filling. The charming waiter, who spoke some English, made the ordering process smooth and enjoyable. Staff with the utmost level of disrespect. We called asking if they had a spot for us and the "nice" lady on the telephone kept shouting that "WE DO NOT TAKE RESERVATIONS". We said alright, no reservation but do you have a spot? This got repeated 3 times then the lady simply and angrily hang up in my face. We showed up at the place as we were close to ask in person and the phone rang, she literally said: "If it's the same [bad word], I'm going to lose my mind on him". I replied: "Excuse me, you're going to what? I'm asking if you have a spot for us, I don't want a reservation". She got all angry and agitated, correcting my non-native Catalan, that I should have said "placa" instead of "lloc". Immediately after the gentleman (owner?) behind the bar shouted at us to kick us out and started advancing in a what appeared to be a physically threatening manner. We left as we had a newborn in a stroller, making it loud and clear that we will be leaving a 1-star review. They will certainly incite their friends and staff to post reviews countering this one while sharing lies and wild accusations to justify their behavior, but you don't have to look far. Just scroll down to many similar reviews over the years documenting how they regularly treat customers under the guise of being "too busy". Additionally, their behind-the-counter behavior and hygiene looked substandard. I would avoid advise you to find a place with better service and customer care.

The worst reception I ever had! I waited for 5min before someone actually came to ask us what we wanted. The waiter was passing by us without saying anything. We asked for a table and the guy just replied you can't have for 5 people. A waitress came from the outside and asked how to help, we asked again a table for 5 people and she stated that this wasn't possible. They didn't propose any options so we sit there....how do you even do business?

It is true that the waiters fail with the language issue, they knew that we were Spanish and they continued speaking to us in Catalan ("very cosmopolitan") leaving that aside the food was incredible. We ordered the belly salad and the tumaca bread. Then everyone ordered the hamburger, which was actually incredible due to its grilled flavor and the quality of the meat. The worst crepes of my life. We tried the tiny savoury one that is supposed to be done in bretone traditional way and it was with holes and really cheap ingredients (cheese sausage etc…) then we tried the sweet one and there was a tiny bit of Nutella on the top of (not inside) a gigantic old and cold crêpe. Very poor service, but they don't have any staff. They didn't give us the apartment until 9:00 PM, and without any explanation. I don't recommend it at all.
Claudia M — Google review
Excellent location with a 5 star swimming pool and 2 min away from the beach. However, the rooms are in low condition and very basic for a 4 star hotel. They were no kettle or free coffee and tea for the first time in a hotel world wide. The air conditioning wasn’t working properly and apparently they don’t have in-house maintenance. Breakfast buffet was okay with some options for those who don’t eat pork like us. They staff were friendly enough though some of them don’t speak English at all, yet, they were helpful.

My wedding band of 15 years that was sitting on my bedside table is gone after staying at this hotel a week or so ago. After letting the hotel management know I received an email from them that in the subject line said “ Lost” ring. Let me make myself clear: I did not lose my ring in my room! Undoubtedly the safe was not operational in the room so my wife hid her valuables thankfully as they are worth far more than my wedding band. It is not the value of the band that matters to me as much but what it represents. I am feeling upset at the hotel as well as myself for not hiding what meant so much to me. If you stay here make sure the safe works and use it. If not functioning then you and your family should take shifts where one person is in the room at all times. I know this sounds ridiculous but what is more ridiculous is a hotel that does not take accountability for what happens at their hotel. As far as the hotel the pool was nice and the kids enjoyed it but the rest of the hotel is run down and looks nothing like what the marketing people portray on their website. You will see this and agree with me if you stay here. One of the worst mistakes of my life.
Jon S — Google review
Very very overrated. Or air conditioning didn’t work and they first promised to change our room but never did. The resort is 3 star at best, but truly comparable to some 2 star hotels. Food was mediocre. We had a miserable time there.
Donna M — Google review
It is a run down hotel. The price of the room (€ 338,- per night) suggests that you will arrive in a luxurious hotel, but it is not worth the 4 stars that are on the building. Room and bathroom are old. Airconditioning is very noisy. Staff at reception have only eyes for their computer in the back room and do not notice guests waiting. They give no information when checking in about the hotel restaurants etc. 4 out of 5 days housekeeping came after 4 pm !!!!, while we were out of the room everyday by 10.30am. Ridiculous!! Sun beds at the pool are very old and worn out. Some of the staff are friendly, but a lot of them are annoyed by the guests. The only positive thing is the golf course. Good course and friendly staff. We will definitely not return.
Karen P — Google review
Average hotel with 1star an 5star elements. Location is wonderful. Near beach and golf. They have a 5star swimming pool. Rooms are dated. Beds are good but bathroom is very old fashioned. Excellent breakfast buffet. We will return to this hotel, only for its location.

Very relaxing lunch. Not crowded. Good food. Enjoyed the salads on a hot day. Lovely beach and 11kwh Destination Charger so our Tesla had a snack, too. Breakfasted a bit late. Ordered a French omelette sandwich...it took so long to arrive that I thought it might have actually come from France ;-) Great coffee. Lovely pools both at the beach and at the hotel. Parking indoors (with Tesla charger) now €15 but it is access all areas.

Calm and quiet place. I've been there a few times, and I always come back. The staff is great and very friendly, the rooms are big, the pool is great. And do you know many places where there have so many returning clients that they trust you in the first place, and don't ask for your credit card when you arrive???

This is for a long time one of our favorite restaurants. The gambas de Palamos are simply amazing. Today we also had white asparagus and monk fish with rice from Pals. All amazing. The zucchini flowers were tasty but not super. Also when you share the dishes they already prepare two plates. High level of service and great quality of food. We will be back again and again.

Nice hotel. Rooms a bit dated but pool area and restaurant good...if expensive for what it is. Staff very helpful. Shame there is no bar type menu for lunch or even room service currently unless you eat off the ala carte menu from the restaurant and only during normal staff hours.

Amazing hotel. First, rooms were great! Great size for the room and had some cool features, the restraunt was amazing, for a four star hotel, it was 5 star hotel food, and maybe better and the restraunt staff treated us like we were royalty, and for the price, amazing hotel, great lounge next to the pool and they were very friendly at the reception and the restraunt, the pool was very nice, very large pool, the hotel was an amazing experience and would strongly reccomend staying here if you are in the area

A wonderful experience! The menu offers excellent value for money, and when I chose the takeaway rotisserie, the quality was outstanding and the service was impressively fast. P.S. There is a part-time blonde waitress, super nice. If anyone knows her name, I’d greatly appreciate it.

Late lunch after golf could have been 3 courses for low price, but I went for the Paella mixed, with z nice bottle of Rioja. haven't been back for about 10 years. Used to travel down to l'estartit for about 17 years and always called in here several times during our 2 week stay. The paella is the best. Delores always cooked good meals and Bernabe always had the best drought Estrella in the region! Very nice genuine people .Keep meaning to go back and someday I will. *** UPDATE**** went back last year!! ,( June 2022).Bernabe and Delores remembered us and made us very welcome, made us feel like we'd never been away. During a recent holiday, I stumbled upon Delish, an eatery that offers unique and beloved dishes not commonly found in that region. Their sticky toffee pudding was exceptional, surpassing anything I've had back home. Moreover, my family thoroughly enjoyed the delightful cupcakes. I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the area as it provides an extraordinary culinary experience. Delish is known for its fresh and nutritious food options, with a charming seating area that caters to families with children.
Stumbled across this place when travelling on holiday recently . Luckily enough for us we found a restaurant that sold some real favourites of ours which is unusual in that part of the world. The sticky toffee pudding was top class , better than anything I have tasted at home , and my wife and kids loved the cup cakes. Would recommend to anyone who is holidaying in that region to pop in and try it out.

Nestled a bit away from the bustling city center, M2 Gluten Free is a haven for health-conscious food lovers seeking delicious gluten-free options. This relaxed eatery boasts an impressive menu that caters to various dietary needs, featuring everything from mouthwatering pizzas and burgers to fresh poke bowls and vibrant salads. The open kitchen concept allows diners to witness the culinary magic firsthand, as they whip up delightful dishes without gluten.
Stepping into M2, I was immediately struck by its inviting ambiance. The lively DJ set provided a pleasant backdrop, adding a touch of energy to the atmosphere. The staff were both friendly and knowledgeable, demonstrating a genuine passion for the cuisine. For dinner, we opted for a vegetarian gluten-free pizza. While the crust offered a unique texture, the overall flavor profile was satisfying. The pad Thai, however, fell slightly short of expectations. While the noodles were cooked to perfection, I found the dish lacking in both vegetable variety and depth of flavor. A greater abundance of vegetables would have elevated the experience. To complement our meal, we enjoyed a bottle of red wine that was both smooth and well-balanced, a delightful complement to the flavors on offer. Overall, M2 offers a pleasant dining experience, with a focus on friendly service and a solid selection of dishes. While the pad Thai could benefit from some refinement, the restaurant's ambiance and overall quality make it a worthwhile destination for a casual meal.

An excellent first experience and meal last night at M2 Gluten Free! I really didn’t know what to expect as the menu was so eclectic. The falafel was delicious and the veg pad Thai with egg, was superb! 👌🏽🌟 The quality of the ingredients and eating gluten free meant none of the typical bloating that one gets after eating out. The service was attentive, efficient and very courteous. A 10/10 from me. 💯

This place was absolutely amazing and I fell completely in love with it! From the moment I got in the staff took care of me. My pizza was out of this world. The pasta was light and airy and flavorful. The tomato bread was phenomenal. This is a must have for anyone looking for gluten free food options in Barcelona. The staff was great as well.
Ed G — Google review
I was so happy to find a gluten free restaurant with such a varied menu in Barcelona. We had the carbonara and the mushroom gnocchi, which were both delicious. There was also a range of beers (all gluten free, of course) - I had an IPA which was lovely. The service was excellent and our waitress was lovely and super friendly. None of the food was overly salty either like some of the reviews commented.
Talia L — Google review
Good for celiacs or those who want to cut down the intake of gluten. Nice ambiance but to be honest, a bit pricy.. The food was fresh but I would say the taste is just average. The pizza was average, maybe lacks a bit of moe sweet taste of honey. The burger was very fresh but maybe too simple. We didn't order an appetizer but we were full after finishing our meal and this feeling lasted very long. Waiters were very kind and attentive. We were a bit shocked that a half-liter of water was almost 4 euros...😅 Personally, not bad but I don't really see merit for me going back here..
Minimum R — Google review
I was so exited to find a restaurant that is entirely gluten free! But what a disappointment… I got the plantain chips with guacamole. Both had zero salt in them, which is tasteless but at least people can just add the amount they want. Next I ordered the pad thai with beef. There were four little slices of beef, that were so over cooked that they were inedible. In addition, the flavor was completely off - so salty I couldn’t eat it. I told one of the waiters and he offered to bring me some teriyaki to balance it out. I was fine with that because I don’t like to return dishes. I tried the teriyaki before adding it, and it had nothing to do with actual teriyaki sauce - it was as salty as could be, and in addition was sour and not sweet. So I had no choice but to call another waiter and return the dish. I then ordered a salmon poke bowl instead, verifying with the waitress that it won’t be salty as it said that the salmon is in a soy marinade. The poke was edible, but not much more than that. The salmon was indeed extremely salty, while the rest was fairly tasteless. After mixing it well, the bites with the salmon were still too salty for me (but I will say that I am sensitive to salty food), and the rest was just edible. Out of all the restaurants I’ve eaten in in Barcelona so far, this was my least favorite :( I will definitely not come back :( Silver lining: coffee was really good :)
Tom K — Google review
Amazing 100% gluten free Resturant! We ate inside METRIC next door, and we could order off either of M2’s entirely gluten free menu or METRIC’s menu which had gluten containing and some gluten free options. The menus also had all other allergens really clearly labelled. I had the Black Angus Burger, and then returned a few days later to also try out one of the pasta dishes. Decent prices given how tasty the food is. The menus were also available in English. Worth noting that all soft drinks seem to be diet versions, but if you order a coffee you might just end up with a little bear on it!
