Wonderful hotel with comfortable rooms. The breakfast is superb, the dinners are delicious. Everything one can hope for at a cozy little hotel st the heart of the old town of Rupit. However where they really stand out is their service. Absolutely fantastic - from the waiters at the table to the reception. We felt very well catered for and their attention to our experience was really felt. Highly recommended!!!

Stopped into restaurant during out tour of Rupit and willingly attest to its Michelin ratings!!! Professional attentive service, fabulous local wines, elegant space, and scrumptious meals. Surprisingly economical given its remote location and exceptional offerings. Definitely worth the accolades!

We had lunch at this Catalan restaurant and chose the set menu, which included two courses, dessert, coffee, and a glass of red wine. Our bill for two people was 108 euros. We ordered different dishes, and everything was delicious and of high quality. The staff spoke English very well, and the restaurant itself was cozy and very clean. Highly recommended!

We visited the fabulous restaurant of the hostal, which served traditional Catalan dishes. We had the turbot, lamb chops, roast lamb and pork loin. All were delicious and served with a smile. An extensive wine list with something for everyone.

We didn’t stay in the hotel, but our group had dinner in the restaurant, and it was legitimately the best meal we’d had on our entire trip to Spain. I highly recommend the grilled lamb, but honestly, everything was so good that you really can’t go wrong no matter what you pick.

Our family (12pax) went to Fonda Marsal to celebrate the 65 years of my oncle this weekend. The rooms were cosy and the food was good (typical catalan, like if our grandmother was cooking!). The hotel facilities are correct, they even have a common area with a fireplace, perfect to play table games after dinner. Besides that the staff was great, friendly and helpful.

This is a review for the restaurant, not the hotel ran on same premises. Rather big, canteen style, not that cosy large restaurant space, with amazing mountain village views if you sit close to the windows. Service very poor and messy, takes forever to place and order leave alone for food to arrive. My small green salad bland/undressed, beans that came with sausage, completely unseasoned, watery, with brine coming onto the plate, all very unpleasant. The sausage, the only half decent tasting thing served to me that day - at least it tasted of something - was well overcooked and dry. I would avoid this restaurant.. 2 stars only because of lovely views out of the windows, and local artist being profiled, with his paintings on the walls.

Great location in beautiful place. Room was clean, staff friendly, food decent and cheap (5€ for bottle wine)! . They clean and change the towels, and we didn't have a problem.

We stopped here for a quick lunch. There were 20 of us and were expecting confusion with the ordering and service. But, hats off to Alba who served us. The service was excellent and quick, the food was very tasty! Very friendly! A great place!!

The food is simple but tasty and you get wine, water, bread, a huge starter, a big meal, and dessert for 14€. The place is rustic and well kept as well. No complaints!

A table outside in the January sunshine with the dogs (although they were very happy for us to bring the dogs inside). I’d like to start with the staff because they really make you feel welcomed. The quality of food is good, I had chance to try some new unexpected combinations that I really enjoyed. The location is amazing too, just in the heart of Rupit surrounded by green hills. Lovely place for a family day.

Absolutely amazing dinner in the countryside close to Rupit. I loved the rural Catalan dishes, with an Ukrainian touch. Our favourite dishes were the Ukrainian soup, pèsols con botifarro, the grilled lamb and the pigs cheek. The waiter was incredibly warm and personable. An unforgettable experience!

Stayed with friends and visited this beautiful place. When we arrived at the house, we were amazed by how beautiful, cozy and thoughtful everything is. You can see that the owners really care about their guests. The hosts prepared us local dishes: meat, peppers, hamon and potatoes. They have a restaurant right on the grounds where the apartments are, and you can order such homemade food. It was very tasty and the atmosphere comfortable, home with beautiful views of nature. The hosts were from Ukraine. Hence and such a warm, almost family reception. In general, I am absolutely delighted. We are all delighted. It was one of the best trips in recent times. I recommend it to everyone.

We have hiked by this restaurant and stoped to have our lunch. The cousine is extremely delicious. Our meal was accompanied with the local red wine which was also good quality. Overall experience was 10 out of 10, absolutely better than that menú del día.

This place was wonderful! We visited there 2 years ago, and our kids still talk about it. The tiramisu is still the best we've ever had. The staff was very friendly, and the town is amazing.

This restaurant is amazing! Rupit is a beautiful place to visit and you cannot miss this spot to see! This restaurant had the best menu offered after seeing the rest. They serviced us very fast and friendly! The food was hot served and had the best dishes! Recommend the calelones and croquets! Coffee is very yummy as well. Everyone was very nice even though I spoke English and well priced. I will be back again!

Amazing! Family restaurant (nowadays 4th and 5th generation) great food, wine and service. My recommendation: local embutidos, parrillada and red wine from the house (not expensive as well, if you get embutidos as a starter the parrillada can be shared).

You will not find a more authentic Catalán country restaurant anywhere. Five generations of family have been running this awesome place that has been there since 1800. Mom and Grandma running the kitchen. Great service, great food, gray stories by our waiter (the son). It was an amazing experience just to have lunch there.

I loved the experience at Ca l’Estragués. Homemade catalan dishes with excellent quality and price! We were 5 and ordered wine, one embutidos de Rupit to share and then we did the duck with mushrooms, casserole rice and the entrecote. We also did desserts to share, they were all amazing! We paid approx 22€ per person. The staff attention was very nice as well. I definitely recommend having a meal here to live the full Rupit experience :)

A very cosy place. Extraordinary quality local food in a warm ancient place. Service is its best and unpayable views from the main restaurant room. A must-see and taste in the unforgettable town called Rupit. Highly recommended to book before enjoy it.

Lovely food! Really enjoyed the meat and the Argentinian cake as dessert is so delicious!! Had to come back twice. Also very sweet staff.

We really enjoyed it as vegetarians. We had 2 main dishes, one some sort of lasagna and another something like stew of vegetables with homemade crisps. If you want a good and filling desert try the Argentinian cake :) Oh and the waiter was very nice too. From our experience, I wouldn’t have guessed this restaurant had such a low rating. Fantastic place to eat in Rupit. It is usually full so make a reservation. The Sacher cake is amazing and the do a great argentine grill plate and other meat on the grill. There are also vegetarian plates, salad and pasta

We were 4 people at peak hour without reservation, but they prepared a table for us on their balcony overseeing the bridge. The owner himself attended us and was so funny and attentive that it would've made the whole meal worth it! But on top of that, the food was great: you have to try the leek empanada and the meat grill (specially the black sausage). The dulce the leche was splendid as well. We'll come back for sure!

If you vegetarian DO Not go! The worst vegetarian plate I,ve ever seen. We were one meat eater and 2 vegetarians. I think the meat was fine. We ordered from 2 menus.The main dish was stir fried vegetables in a lot of oil,onion,peppers and carrots accompanied by crisps.This was the main dish on 16.80 menu!! We had a salad as a starter. On the 21.80 menu I ordered 'panache de verduras' which was like a vegetable lasagne without the pasta, basically vegetables in a tomatoe sauce with cheese.We ate very little of both vegetarian dishes!! Starter of empanada was fine as was my pannacota dessert. Check the bill when you leave,we were overcharged but this was rectified.Rupit is beautiful but I will never go back to this restaurant.

Amazing cozy place. I loved all the courses, and it's difficult to decide which one is the best. However, I would definitely recommend: la pluma, chuleton, sausages platter and cheeks. The place is a bit hidden but it worth it once you get there.

I was vegetarian before entering this establishment, but the smell of the seasoned grill lured me in this paradise. I'm still digesting the most amazing piece of meat that I have ever tried. 10/10 would return.

I’m sure the family are good people but I won’t choose to spend my time and money here again -grandmother receives the guests and asks people to choose their menu while on the doorstep. Goes back and forth to the kitchen a few times to let us know our choices are not available.
