Restaurant
The Ruddington Arms is a charming and award-winning pub located in the bustling village of Ruddington, just south of Nottingham. The restaurant offers locally sourced British pub fare with a stylishly refurbished dining room flooded with natural light. Owned by Mark Anderson, who has an impressive culinary background, the menu changes regularly to showcase seasonal produce and local market offerings. The establishment prides itself on providing exceptional food and drinks in a cozy atmosphere, blurring the line between local pub food and fine dining.
We had a lovely dinner at The Ruddington Arms with some friends and really enjoyed ourselves, the food, and drinks. I’m not usually one to enjoy eggplant but I thought their vegan eggplant dish was quite tasty. I usually order no eggplant but it was the only vegan dish on the menu so I had to take a chance on it and I’m glad I did. They had plenty of ciders and beers to choose from to drink in addition to some cocktails. We would definitely come back if we were back in the area.

We went on a Tuesday afternoon so it was really quiet but the service was good and the food was out quickly. We had camembert to start which was delicious! Then we both had the beef burger for main. My husband loved it, but it was abit too many different flavours for me. But that's just personal reference!

Absolutely amazing as always. Crab was on the menu (it appears once a year for a period of time) and I snuck in on my lonesome just to have it, I’d seen it on the specials board the afternoon before and it had been playing on my mind since then. Brilliant! The service, the quality of the food - crazy good. Thank you!

Came with a friend for dinner, she has been a few times and said it was good. She was not wrong, the food was delicious, staff were very friendly and also gave good advice, and the atmosphere was very welcoming too. Would definitely visit again next time I'm around! I ordered the steak burger, my friend ordered the chicken burger - we cut them both in half and shared them to try both. Delicious! I had the cheese board for dessert which was really nice too. Would recommend to anyone!

Had a really lovely Sunday roast last week. At 4pm on a Sunday the restaurant was busy and there was a nice atmosphere. Staff are friendly and the service was great. My only negative comment is that they need to spruce up the loos!

Visited yesterday for an evening meal the Food was outstanding. Served by two lovely ladies (one in training), both very polite and attentive. Great experience overall.

Came in on Thursday evening for a few drinks and the bar was very busy and they were clearly understaffed. The manager looked very stressed and seemed to take it out on the other staff members who were two young girls. He was heard swearing at a member of staff and she looked upset. It’s not what I want to hear or see when I’ve come out for a drink with my friends and our children.
Laura B — Google review
Poor service seems to be a recurring theme in the bad reviews and we found the same. Rude, joyless, and unfriendly. Genuinely unsure what drew a couple of the staff members to a career in hospitality. The manager in particular seemed to instil nervousness among younger staff. The food was nothing special either.

Cafe
Nestled in the picturesque Peak District, The Old Bakehouse Tea Room is a charming 14th-century stone-walled cottage offering a cozy retreat after a day of exploring the stunning surroundings. Conveniently located near Chatsworth and Hardwick Hall, this welcoming accommodation provides easy access to thrilling outdoor activities. In the heart of Ruddington, Nottingham, The Old Bakehouse Tea Room offers delicious food and a warm atmosphere.
It's the old Horspools bakery. The staff were very helpful and the quality of the food was very good. Our pananies were piping hot with a small salad, and small coleslaw. It would have been nice if there was a little more salad. The quantity did seem a little on the tight side. Decafe tea excellent. There are toilet facilities which were clean and well looked after. One star docked as the service took a long time considering it was quite, and the place lacks an atmosphere. It needs pictures, plants and decoration to make it less stark. Will try the breakfast if we go again. Its a friendly café with plenty of regulars. Dec 2023 update. We've been here a good few times, had the breakfasts and paninis. We are now getting to kown the lovely staff. They make their own cakes, the food is always fresh and they are always really friendly. It is now one of my favourite tea rooms in the village.

This is a lovely little cafe with a fantastic ambiance. The menu is really good and typical of what you'd find in a tearoom like this. The prices are good and reasonable and the quality of the food and drink is excellent making this tearoom really good value for money! Although there is no car park; there are plenty of spaces on the surrounding streets and getting a spot is incredibly easy. The staff are very friendly and engage in conversation. All in all a lovely place to stop off and have a bite to eat and a drink!

Myself and a friend so much enjoyed our afternoon tea here which was delicious and just the right size with great value for money. The waitresses were lovely and the service excellent. We will be back thank you so much.

Great service..fresh tasty food. Nothing is ever too much for staff...service with a smile & a cake! Great plave for family, friends or even some quiet time...best cornflake tart ever! 1o/10

We went here whilst visiting Rushcliffe Country Park and we were not disappointed. A very clean Tea Room with friendly service. We had a cooked breakfast with another in our party a Tuna and sweetcorn sandwich. (Lovely thick and tasty bread). I love my tea so was very happy with my very big pot all to myself. Each of us used the convenience and that was spotless also. The cakes looked great but with a walk in front of us we had to resist. So if you are anywhere near the Country Park, treat yourself to this lovely gem of a place just a short walk away. The bonus being it was affordable and we will return again when we are next in the area. Well done to the staff. 👍🫶🏽

Under new management since Sept 2021, the new proprietor Eve is pleasant and friendly. She bakes her own cakes and scones and runs the place with quiet efficiency. We had afternoon tea and the home-made scones were lovely. Highly recommend the place. Very nice atmosphere, good service and lovely location. Easy parking nearby and a beautiful historic church just steps away

Pub
Restaurant
Nestled in the heart of Nottingham, the Nottingham Knight - Pub & Grill is a delightful chain pub and restaurant that specializes in serving classic comfort food. With an inviting atmosphere perfect for families, it features dedicated kids' and dessert menus to cater to all ages. Guests have shared their experiences of enjoying a Sunday Roast here, highlighting the warm welcome from staff who are eager to recommend delicious wines and help navigate the extensive menu.
I've had a chance of dining at the Nottingham Knight during my stay at the premiere inn. I dined there a couple of time 3 I believe if I recall correctly. My server on all occasions was Marcy. The service was professional and really fast. She was more than happy to answer any questions regarding the menu and was full of warmth and friendly energy throughout my service. The food was of a decent quality and not too expensive from the perspective of a foreigner who's spending their summer holidays in England. The waiting time is not too long and the portion sizes are definitely satisfactory. Overall I would say that Nottingham Knight is a good value for money and I definitely enjoyed my time there. During my future stays in Nottingham I will most likely revisit this place not only because of its immediate proximity to the hotel I'm staying at but also because of the high quality of me meals and the professionalism of service. The only criticism I can mention is the ocassionsal generosity in terms of seasoning. Especially prominent when it comes to Halloumi Fries which although delicious were definitely on the saltier side. Which is not necessarily a bad thing and an issue of personal preference.
Bartek S — Google review
The service did as well as they could do in search a large venue that has since stopped table service and only has 2 staff on a Wednesday. The food was cold, the coldslaw tasteless and the steak that I asked to be medium rare was simply dire for £24. If I’d have breathed on it, it would have alived itself and ran off pretty much annoyed as I was.
Mark R — Google review
Had Sunday Roast. It was delicious. The pub is clean, lots of room. The service was excellent, and the staff was very friendly. Dog friendly, which is a major plus.
Randy D — Google review
Decent pub grub. Had a mixed grill which was nice but not great. My order got mixed up with someone else's so I didn't get it until very late but waitress was very apologetic. Reasonable price and standard (being a Greene King pub) was acceptable.
Matt L — Google review
Oh dear. As last post said… avoid at all cost. 4 of us spent over£120, between us, drinks included. However, sent 1 meal back, which was deducted, and we should have sent them all back, but us being us didn't want to cause a fuss. All 4 meals were totally overcooked. Sent 1 back and the waitress said she couldn't guarantee it wouldn't come out the same so had to choose something different, which was still overcooked. The place was empty. Not surprised after that crap. We totally didn't blame the waitress/bar staff. Won't be returning. This place is so up and down. Green king - you should be ashamed! Had better at wetherspoons and don't rate them either so that's saying something!
Shezy W — Google review
Always had a good experience here but the visit today wasn't our best experience. Started off with the staff on the personal phones behind the bar while we were waiting to be seated. The same member of staff didn't take our drinks order and others came in after us and had drinks orders taken. Once ordered the fish was burnt and had a horrible taste. This was changed for a fresh one but left one person in the group eating after the others had finished.
Kevin — Google review
We were warned we'd had to wait for food but we got drinks and spent the time people watching! The staff were run off their feet and operated at top speed. Despite this, they were very polite and pleasant. I will admit that I wasn't expecting much of the food but was totally delighted by it. I had macaroni cheese and salad which was utterly delicious and my husband had steak and ale pie which he said was also lovely. I can't imagine how the poor staff managed it but it was a lovely evening. Five stars to the lady in charge and to the waiter, who must have been training for the Great North Run!!

Nestled in the charming village of Quorn, The White Horse is a quintessential country pub that exudes warmth and hospitality. With its rustic wood furnishings, inviting log fires, and a delightful courtyard garden adorned with vibrant flowers and lush lawns, it’s the perfect retreat for sunny afternoons. Locals love this spot for unwinding over hearty meals like steaks and seafood while enjoying a friendly atmosphere that welcomes visitors from afar.
Nice pub atmosphere although we visited for the restaurant. There is limited parking to the rear. The staff were friendly, and attentive and able to accommodate a big group. A great and wide selection of food and drinks, including vegan options. The food was delicious, better than the typical pub standard. Definitely worth another visit when I'm back in the area.

Lovely pub, served really nice food and cocktails with decent portions sizes! Additionally it had a good vegaterian selection.

Made a booking here for my BF’s birthday dinner. We have been a couple times and really enjoyed. So thought it’d be nice to do again to celebrate his birthday. The inside of this place is so nice and cozy looking, it’s so comfortable. As always the staff were so nice and kind, super friendly. They have many drink options and also a good few non-alcoholic fun drinks too. Which is always nice to have, especially since I don’t drink. Of course, the food was amazing. As well, they have so many vegan options which is always great to see on a menu and gives me more variety to choose from. I surely didn’t expect too many dessert options but they had quite a few and we much enjoyed what we went with. We will surely be back again! Thank you to everyone, it was a lovely evening.

We celebrated my hen do by having a meal at The White Horse, and omg it was absolutely beautiful, the portions were massive, very filling and really tasty 😋 would highly recommend.

Nice pub with a good outside area. Unfortunately influxed with flying ants on the day we visited. A nice outside to enjoy in the sun and a good atmosphere. We didn't eat anything but the food looked good with pizzas looking particularly good.
Caitlin B — Google review
So friendly and welcoming. From out of town. Wanted a snack and a pint to waste an hour or so watching the Euros. They didn't have it on, and it was a busy Sunday lunch service but they found me a spot, and got the TV on for me. The brisket loaded fries were damn good too! The roasts on the adjacent table looked immense. Definitely bookmarking this place for next trip up here. Finally, nice outside eating area which is smoke free. Something more places should do.

Great food, loved the Buddon pizza. Chicken burger looked massive, and gnocchi looked amazing too. Definiatelly will come back.

We've been there before and it was always good, but this time the food was very poor quality. The fish was overcooked and dripping with oil. They told us we were welcome to have dessert, but we only ordered one, and on top of that, they charged us for it.

Indian restaurant
Located on Easthorpe Street in Ruddington, Three Spices is a popular restaurant known for its delicious curries prepared by award-winning chefs. The menu features a variety of traditional curries and Bangladeshi specialties, including the special masala. Additionally, they offer a 25 set menu that includes poppadoms, chutney, mixed platter, main dish, rice and naan.
I always have a lovely visit to three spices, the food is always excellent and never waiting for your meal as it is always on time. The staff are really lovely and they always greet you at the door with a smile. It is affordable prices and you never get let down with your meal as it is always good. I would definitely recommend for anyone to pay a visit to this restaurant.

This pub and Indian restaurant offers tasty Indian food in a modern and clean setting. The chicken balti is recommended, and the service is friendly and quick. The Tuesday night banquet with starter and main for £13 is fantastic value.
Simon M — Google review
My partner and I went for the Tuesday Night Banquet. There was a varied choice of dishes as well as upgrades available. I’d highly recommend the Chicken Tikka Puri starter. All the food was delicious and beautifully presented. The service really was impressive. We had the pleasure of dealing with 4 different members of the team who all great, very courteous, knowledgable and also quite funny. This wasn’t our first time at The Three Spices, each time it is just as fabulous. We will definitely be back. Thank you all.
Brooke W — Google review
I've been coming here for years, with family. I've started coming with one of my mates, we have to get 2 buses but it worth it! Excellent value especially on a Tuesday night. Slightly cheaper than my local takeaway, but I'd rather travel the extra 10 miles to get to the three spices. A brilliant restaurant!
Jowi — Google review
As ever, excellent food. Parking is a real pain as Ruddington has yellow lines almost everywhere. However, you might get a parking space in the village green, about 3 mins walk away. Take away food and some restaurants can be too 'sloppy'. Three Spices has a thicker, high quality consistency. The nam breads are huge and are definitely made fresh. Service is excellent and has a good atmosphere. There is a separate bar / pub style room where you can meet prior to the meal for a proper drink. The only disappointment is that this time they wanted us to pre-order on their app/website. This caused a bit of confusion with the rice/chips as 10 of us did this separately, so none of us knew who was /had ordered the sides as we normally share. We dont need 10 plates of chips and 10 bowls of rice. Also, two of the pre-orders weren't captured on the app, so we had to order theirs on the night anyway. I understand that pre-order helps them but the system doesn't work very well. All in all, top quality food at reasonable prices.
Squeeels B — Google review
Quite simply the best curry in Nottinghamshire. Service is second to none even when dealing with a full house. This place gets really busy so book a table to avoid disappointment. The only thing that's a negative is that it can get noisy when there are so many people dinning. BUT the food and service more than make up for this. (shame I can only give 5 stars as it deserves more)

Nepalese restaurant
Consider trying out Everest Bhansaghar, a Nepalese takeout restaurant that offers a diverse menu with options from Indian cuisine as well. Their Momo appetizers and Nepal main dishes, such as prawn rice, are highly recommended. The food is excellent, and the establishment provides quick service in a pleasant and bustling atmosphere. While prices may be on the medium to high range, they are definitely worth it.
Last time I visited, I was 17 or 18 with my father. This time I attended with my partner, we had already decided takeaway but upon arrival. Was greeted so warmly, we decided to stay for the meal and dine in. Had decided the meal as well, well the started changed, we knew our curries but after speaking with the attendant - we choose a different starter Momo ( soft, curried dumplings) and before the Momo starter. We had 3 poppadoms and the chutneys, which of course we finished. Then the Momo came out and we shared, 2x each and wow. At first I thought I needed chopsticks lol, the dumpling was so soft when transferring it slightly came apart but the aroma completely took over. Perfect balance of flavour, filling and I have to say - I would order the Momo as a main on its own. My favourite, main is Keema and I love this dish. The take on the keema here was sensational, I loved the peas and was not overwhelmed by onions but by original flavour. I had so much, when I mixed the rice in - i had two meals. My partner ordered the Rum Rum, this was flavourful, excellent portions of lamb and first time he choose a different curry. Also the attendant, came over and explained the dishes and the country behind these. We are even looking at traveling abroad to visit, forgive me for forgetting to take the pictures of the mains but when the mains arrived. We just started eating straight away, and silence reigned complete while devouring the food. Yes the bill was £58, but 2 starters, two mains and two pilua rice (in honesty, 1 rice for us both would of been enough) and a single Southern Comfort with lemonade, plus a pint of cobra. We are coming back again and I have found a local, that I'm happy to order from on take away or dine in. A fantastic night, this is not a modern restaurant and the decor is not up to date but I would eat in this restaurant than in the city centre for higher prices and smaller portions. Families are welcome, and their is room for a gathering, believe you and me - it is worth every penny.

Absolutely loved this restaurant! The steak was juicy, tender, and cooked perfectly medium rare. The sides — roasted vegetables and mashed potatoes — were flavorful and comforting. The service was fast, and the staff made sure everything was just right. It’s clear they care about every guest.

Dan — Google review
Went after the rest of the family went here a couple of months ago without me and they said we need to go with me. So we did. Food was lovely, well flavoured, freshly cooked, great range for all tastes and diets - spicy/ not too spicy/ not spicy; meat/ veggie/ vegan. Good service, willing to make to likes/ dislikes etc. Prompt service with food. Only slight negative, had to ask for initial (and 2nd round) drinks and had to wait a while for them and the bill. Possibly busier than expected and not enough front of house staff? The 2 ladies there were lovely, very polite and keen to help and advise when they had time. Will be back when we can.

We had a really lovely evening! Super friendly staff and delicious food, no notes
Hannah — Google review
We have eaten here and had takeaways many times and the food is always good and the service is always friendly and hospitable. However on our most recent visit, although the food and service were up to its usual high standard, the decor is looking a little shabby. Peeling wallpaper, a big stain and ceiling damage where there has been a leak and the chairs are uncomfortable as the seat pads had all collapsed at our table. I hope they spend some money on sprucing the place up as it would be a shame if they start loosing their regular customers...unfortunately, we will be looking for somewhere else to eat.😕

Nice food, good selection of beers and friendly staff, dog friendly. Had a nice visit to The Frame Breakers today for lunch. The pub is is nicely decorated and there is an outside seating area. Food is cooked and brought to you quickly. Everyone enjoyed the food and it was nice to see that they use local produce and desserts from local businesses. There was a bit of a glitch with our desserts where they only brought 2 out of 4 but they apologised profusely and offered us something for the inconvinience - overall a very pleasant experience. For 5 stars I'd say it would be good if the serving staff came and checked in on how the food is - I'm usually the person who dislikes this but we had a few errors which could have been resolved much more quickly if this had occurred.

Dhaka Delhi Restaurant, located on High Street in Ruddington, is praised for its attentive staff and flavorful dishes. The menu offers a variety of options, with recommendations including the stuffed paratha and mushroom bhaji. Some diners note that the dishes can be sweeter than expected. Additionally, patrons dining at select nearby venues can receive discounts. While some customers find the flavors to be on the sweeter side, others appreciate the well-cooked and tender meat in their meals.
Probably one of the tastiest curry’s I’ve had in a long while. I was a little apprehensive as it was empty when we arrived at 8pm on a Saturday evening but as we’d been once before a while ago and really enjoyed it. We were not disappointed and will definitely be going back.

Nice food the quality and flavors were delicious.however one thing I found was there was a huge wait from starters to main. They brought the Currys out then started to photograph the curries on the table, before bringing rice and nans out. I found this very unprofessional the wait was longer. One of the curries was almost forgotten and they started clearing up before we had finished. Overall nice food and good company. Staff were polite and courteous and I can't fault that but taking photographs was just a no.

We visited with family and were very impressed. We asked for food recommendations, as there were so many dishes to choose from. The food was excellent and different from anything else we had ever tasted before. The staff were extremely friendly and communicated well. The music was a bit bland and modern, so I would recommend playing Indian music for an authentic experience! We shall definitely be back if we have the opportunity!

Very nice quality meat but felt a little let down by the unexpected sweet taste of some dishes, lack of spicy heat too. Tables layed out nice and clean, but not so keen on the glass fronted window, personally I like a little more privacy, maybe some mirrored type glass so one can see out but not be so on view by passers-by. Lacking atmosphere too.

This place is excellent, the food was absolutely delicious and the staff are so lovely and helpful, various members talked me through dishes on the menu and when I asked for recommendations based on my preferences they were highly knowledgeable and accommodating in tweaking the dish. Could not fault them I would highly recommend eating here!

The food is amazing!!!! One of the nicest restaurants I've been to for quite some time. Rashid in particular was very accommodating, polite and swift. The restaurant is nicely decorated and the restrooms were very clean. I would strongly recommend a visit to Dhaka Delhi. Thankyou for such a nice evening 10/10

Happy Garden is a popular restaurant and takeaway spot located on Church Street in Nottingham. It's known for its delightful range of delectable dishes, with recommendations including Szechuan chicken, crispy beef, and the Happy Garden special. The establishment doesn't offer dine-in options but has garnered a strong following due to its consistently great food and friendly service. Customers appreciate the quick service, hot and tasty meals, and the variety of choices on the menu.
First time going here and very happy with everything. Had the salt and pepper box and was so shocked to have one massive box and another small one with a bag of prawn crackers and the food was delicious especially the ribs. The lady was lovely that took our order and it took less then 5 minutes would 100% go again.

After living away from ruddington for some time. Just moved back & tried what was our favourite Chinese. Oh no what a disaster everything was disgusting, devoid of taste, sloppy & didn't taste at all fresh!

Fantastic Chinese food, our new favourite. Ordered online and collected very quickly. Everything was hot and tasty. Excellent value, we would recommend. We order sweet and sour balls, seaweed, duck in plum sauce and other bits too.

My husband and I bought takeaway from Red Hat today for the very first time and we were quite impressed. The menu is extensive, the prices are reasonable, the portion sizes are generous, the food was both hot and tasty, the staff were friendly, and the food was ready reasonably quickly. We recently moved into the area and will definitely order from Red Hat again.

Subway is a casual counter-service chain that specializes in customizable sandwiches and salads, catering to those who prioritize health-conscious choices. During my visit, I enjoyed a delicious sandwich crafted by a friendly staff member with an eye-catching eyebrow piercing. The service was warm and welcoming, especially from Ben, who made the experience even more enjoyable. The shop itself was impeccably clean, making it a pleasant spot to grab a quick bite. Subway has consistently been my go-to for satisfying meals without any hassle!
HAd a lovely sandwich made by a really cool looking girl here with a great eyebrow piercing

Walked in at 10:15 waited a while then the guy comes out and says sorry I’m closed while I put deliveries away, it’s a quiet shop he could have easily sorted our food and finished but not just, “ I’m closed while I put delivery away” 🥸

Shocking jacket potato, shocking service and shocking aftercare ,returned my jacket potato to be told the manager ( Ben ) had gone home so nothing could be done !!!! If the shop is open then full service is required , told id need to return the next day to get this resolved
Heather D — Google review
Extremely rude staff, made me feel extremely unwelcome and judged. Clearly not the right job for these employees
Olivia H — Google review
By far, the worst Subway I've ever used. The bread is stale, clearly using old stock. And the wait for this poor food was way too long. I could honestly make a better sandwich at home. Also, I didn't realise they put garlic mayo on my meatball sub. Why did they put garlic mayo on? Who knows. I'll never go back here again.

Ordered a footlong. Only got a 6-inch. When I complained, they told me it wasn't their problem.
