Takeout Restaurant
Fast food restaurant
Ed's Take Out is a highly regarded eatery in Nova Scotia, known for its exceptional quality and delicious seafood. With extensive experience in the kitchen, Ed's grandson and his girlfriend go the extra mile to ensure that every dish is prepared to perfection. Their expertise shines through in their crispy fish, non-soggy clams, and perfectly cooked scallops. It is evident that they have dedicated years to perfecting their fry technique.
I stopped into Ed's new location in Kingston this week. The haddie bits and fries were excellent. I had the small, and it was a good size portion. The haddock was melt in your mouth fresh and the crispness of the batter was perfect. The fries were great as well. I appreciate that Ed's makes delicious fries, as many don't these days. Thanks for another great meal and I'll be back soon.

7 scallops and fries for 32 bucks plus tax for the flavor of the scallops they are not worth the 5.21 they come to not including the soggy tasteless fries. Got a small order of scallops which includes only 5 scallops which looked to be a normal size scallop cut in half. For world famous seafood their world must be pretty small. It was my first time and my last. I wouldn't recommend this to my worst enemy for their last supper if it was their last meal on earth. For a total of over 70 dollars i should of driven to Annapolis royal to the crows nest and got good food.
Chris M — Google review
This place was gross. We ordered the clams and fries and a poutine. It came to almost $60 with a tip. Took 50 minutes to get our food, which was cold. People were loosing their minds at the wait. I wouldn't have even cared had the food been remotely decent. It was not. I'm glad I tried a new spot, but I won't be coming back. Sorry but I'd recommend passing on this one.

First time being here and it was fantastic! The food was delicious 😋 I got the mozzarella sticks and fries and then were the BEST home cut fries ever! Super crispy on the outside and super soft on the inside. The mozzarella sticks had the PERFECT cheese pull! The big guy with the hat cooking was super friendly and made great food! Made my experience great! Will definitely be back! Thank you Ed's take out!
Cassandra D — Google review
We were just in to Ed’s Take out in Kingston, NS. We arrived at 6:38 pm, we finally got our order at 7:48 pm. No explanation, no one told us when ordering that they were behind, our bill was $87.40 with no explanation, all it would have taken was someone to come out to our vehicle at some point and say it would be a bit of a wait or let us know when we ordered. Not happy at all!!
Lori M — Google review
World famous? For what? Mediocre food? Fish was okay, nothing to write home about, fries was okay, the clams were absolutely awful, $30 for a side of clams that had zero taste unless you count frier oil. They weren't fishy or tough and chewy so at least they seemed fresh, but they tasted like they sat all day in a warm bucket of chlorinated tap water before absorbing the deep fryer oil taste. Overall just not worth the price and does not live up to the reputation.
Nathan C — Google review
Aug 31 , I had a two piece fish and chips, everything was over cooked, the fish was small and the pancake batter was thicker than the fish and not good. Your grand father was world famous and a very nice person I met him when I was eight and he just opened his business. The service yesterday was very good the food was not good. So I gave you one star for service. I'll be at Angie's I'm Middleton for my fish in the future.
Edward M — Google review
Got to say, with all humility and reflection....this has been my 3rd time at the Wilmot location and it will be my last. I live 2 blocks away and was super excited when Ed's opened their new location. The product is good but the wait time is ridiculous. This was the first time I was actually refunded for my order after waiting for more than a half hour. Usually I just have to leave. For the price charged, I expect better. I assume better. Also, perhaps consider giving people more than a finger nail of coleslaw which is part of the order

Restaurant
Dockside Suites & Fundy Restaurant in Digby offers relaxed waterfront lodging with event spaces and two seafood restaurants. The hotel provides spectacular views of Minas Basin and easy access to local restaurants and attractions, allowing guests to experience the true Nova Scotian lifestyle. The Fundy Restaurant serves delicious seafood dishes, including a unique shrimp cocktail and perfectly cooked lobster, scallops, vegetables, and roasted potatoes.
My husband and I went whale watching last week and stopped here to have supper on our way home. OMG, it was amazing!!! The view, the service, the food...all top notch! The owner greeted us, and came out to the deck to check in halfway through our meal. It started out with a beautiful homemade style roll with a piped pat of butter on the side. The butter immediately got my attention, as details/presentation matter to us. Our server recommended the Baked Haddock, and it was FANTASTIC! We are both still talking about it and telling people. We eat out a fair amount, and I would have to say it was the best meal we've had this summer. We will definitely be back!
Heather S — Google review
Best meal and service we’ve had in a long time… Our server, Yvette, ensured everything was perfect and that our dog (allowed on the patio) was comfortable! We started off with the scallops… simply amazing! For lunch we had the fish and scallops and the seafood linguine. Both were fantastic! So glad we picked this spot for out day in town.
Jainkw — Google review
My wife and I went here for dinner. We thought the service and food were great (thanks Monica). There is indoor seating and a second story deck overlooking the harbor. We sat on the deck and watched the tide ebb out. There’s also a pub below that offers a more casual menu. My wife doesn’t eat seafood and there were plenty of options. She had a bowl of cream of mushroom soup, best we’ve ever had. I imagine the seafood chowder would be incredible. They brought us fresh and warm buns and we both loved them. I had the scallop meal, which was $39 (market price) and had eight scallops, (can be seven or eight depending on weight). The scallops were delicious and what I was hoping to enjoy. The scallops came with freshly steamed vegetables (most places over cook them but not this chef) and a few potato wedges lightly pan fried. Overall, we felt the kitchen really took pride in their art and served solid offerings. We are going to try and get lunch there before we head out of town.

The absolute best stay! We do an annual fall trip, never sure where or how long. We were here the first week of Sept. We were not sure pulling up to the property but at check in my jitters were calmed. The gal at check in took us to show us our room, WOW is all I can say! It was magnificent! So incredibly clean, but also incredibly luxurious! Everything was perfect. The bathroom was so large and was amazing, it had a heated shower floor and a fireplace. The rest of the suite did not disappoint! We had a fireplace, great coffee area, view and the bed was so comfortable. We had our meal in the hotel and from the minute we walked in till we left we felt welcomed and had amazing service. The owner Dean and our server Joya were second to none! Honestly you could not ask for better. The food was excellent and had a great view. Overall, I have travelled a lot across Canada, coast to coast, and this gem is one of the best places for so many reasons that I have stayed. Look very forward to returning!

I had the Maple salmon with the lovely vegetable medley and roasted potato. My partner, had lobster Mac with a side Cesar both meals were delicious service was solid. Music was a little loud and electronic for the Atmosphere. It is a complex of restaurants and hotel rooms very large structure that has interior and outdoor dining options on the water. Overall a great dinner
Amy K — Google review
Amazing spot for seafood! 🦞 We tried the sampler, lobster roll, and panko haddock, everything was super fresh and tasty. Prices were really reasonable for the quality too. The kids had a blast, and our server was so sweet and welcoming, especially with the little ones. Definitely a place we’ll come back to when in the area!
Prem R — Google review
As much i wanted to avoid placing a negative review to the hotel. Hotel itself was fabulous besides the shower head flashing lights. The room itself was wonderful. Had alot of interesting features and the shower with heated floor was a welcome feature for this diabetic. Its unfortunate that our restaurant experience was soured. Good view. Wonderful waitress, but the sample platter, tasted like old oil was used for the frying. Every bite of the clams was pouring old oil with every bite. My meal was scallop mushroom risotto. Scallops were cooked on one side. Leaving raw on bottom, the risotto itself had a mixture of hard rice and overcooked rice. Wife's meal for the haddock it's was great. One half of potato hard. Other half of potato was extremely over cooked. I will return to hotel anytime. Dinner, find somewhere else. Beautiful sunrise and sunset from my room.
Charlie H — Google review
Great service on the hotel side. The restaurant not great, digby is known for scallops. We had the sampler the scallops were not cooked, the clams were awful. Hubby had the scallop risotto, risotto was not cooked hard and crunchy, scallops were cooked on one side and raw on the other. The breaded fish was ok, seemed a little under cooked. Potato’s were hard as a rock

Shoreline Restaurant offers a delightful dining experience with its delicious seafood dishes and friendly service. The fisherman's platter, Neptune salad, and curry maple chicken are highly recommended. The restaurant's charming seaside atmosphere and covered terrace provide a comfortable setting to enjoy the view of the Bay while savoring the varied menu options. Additionally, visitors can explore the adjacent souvenir and crafts shop for a complete experience by the Annapolis Basin.
Their👏🏻seafood👏🏻was👏🏻crazy👏🏻good! It was my first time in town and def also my first time in this restaurant. I was so surprised about the food we got. I had fisherman’s platter, which included clam, scallops, jumbo shrimp, a piece of fish, veggies (asparagus and carrots) and a bunch of fires. Everything was so delicious, they all cooked so well. The server was very friendly and helpful too. The atmosphere was good, and I love sitting on the patio and enjoy the view! Everything was so amazing! Love it!
Carrie G — Google review
The service was very friendly and prompt. Our drinks and meals arrived so quickly. The Neptune salad was probably the best meal of all - great varying components made the dish so flavorful and bright. The seafood chowder was a mountain of seafood in a light cream broth - not so heavy and rich which was fantastic. The chicken alfredo was good, could have used a touch more salt. The fish and chips were great - fresh cut fries, lightly dusted piece of haddock and no sign of grease anywhere, very mild in flavor and so tender it would fall apart in the mouth. The scallop kebab was a let down - very bland scallops and veggies on a skewer of unseasoned white rice. Overall not bad, but the experience really depends on the dish you get.
Jessica — Google review
Stopping here for dinner after spending the afternoon on a lobster fishing boat tour is a great way to end the day. Excellent food and a scenic view make a good combination. The Neptune salad (scallops, shrimp, spring greens, strawberries, blueberries and goat cheese) seafood chowder and fish cakes were all delicious.

Our first time there with another couple. I had curry maple chicken. So delicious! The others had seafood plates: bacon wrapped scallops, haddock, shrimps... all these goodies! Everything was perfect! We sat outside, with the view in the Bay. And our waiter was the best ever! The restaurant is behind a souvenir / crafts shop. A must stop!
B. K — Google review
Authentic and Charming Seaside atmosphere. Lots of quality options from Digby Scallops, Seafood Chowder, and even chicken strips for the kids. Covered Terrace makes for comfy dining rain or shine while still experiencing the spray and sounds of the Annapolis Basin. Nice gift shop too

As Digby is the 'Scallop Capitol of the World', we had to plan a visit during our stay in Nova Scotia. There are several highly rated restaurants in Digby and as we only had an afternoon in Digby, we gambled on the Shoreline Restaurant and we were not disappointed! We lucked up and with no wait got a table on the deck overlooking the marina. Our waitress was fantastic and made several helpful suggestions on our food choices. We started with the Quohog Bites (lightly battered fried clams), I've never cared for clams but these were amazing, not greasy or over-battered. My husband had the highly recommended Pan Fried Scallops and loved them. On the advise of our waitress I opted for the Pan Fried Haddock, fantastic! The portions were all very generous and the prices very reasonable.
Amanda S — Google review
Nice restaurant. Amazing location overlooking the harbour. I had the Digby scallops rolled in bacon with the calamari. It was very good, though not the greatest I’ve ever had. The waitress was amazing, and the scenery was spectacular. I will recommend it though will acknowledge I hadn’t tried any other restaurants in the area.
Jeffrey Q — Google review
The sunset views are to die for, and service is top notch and scallops are wow. They are connected to a gift shop so great place to get souvenirs while you wait (they don't take reservations and will be a wait)

If you find yourself in Digby, make sure to stop by The Wheelhouse Seafood & Pasta for an unforgettable dining experience. Nestled right on the water's edge, this charming restaurant boasts a lovely open-plan design with a delightful outdoor balcony that offers stunning views. After an invigorating hike, guests can unwind on the patio while savoring dishes like the seafood lasagna or a fresh salad brimming with scallops and shrimp, all drizzled with their signature maple dressing.
This was one of the best meals we had while visiting Nova Scotia! The bacon wrapped scallops, the lobster fondue, the lobster rolls and OMG the giant slice of lemon meringue pie. This is the place to go. We sat outside on a beautiful day overlooking the water. Our sever was wonder, she gave us a great recommendation on a must see nearby spot. I can’t say enough good things about our experience.
Jillian S — Google review
Took my family here for dinner. The restaurant is in an house renovated into a restaurant. It has a lot of charms and a patio deck with a view of Bay of Fundy. The seafood was amazing. We started with calamari and it was cooked to perfection. The batter was light and crispy and the calamari is soft and tender. I ordered a scallop trio, which was cooked perfectly. My girls has haddock pieces and they were tender and well seasoned. Would definitely come back.
Tri T — Google review
When you find yourself in the scallop capital of the world, and it just so happens to be during the 50th Annual Scallop Days weekend... you have one delicious obligation... or should I say privilege, and that's to eat scallops! Digby is world renowned for their scallops, and these were the best scallops we've ever had! The buttery taste literally melted in your mouth. We started with the bacon wrapped appetizer and were so impressed we both opted for the Scallop Trio for our main course. Seasoned and cooked to perfection, each bite was better than the one before it. Desserts were homemade and absolutely amazing. The restaurant staff went above and beyond seating us rather quickly even though we just popped in during the dinner rush without a reservation, and this place was packed... Did I mentioned it was Scallop Days? If you're headed out whale watching, or just going to Digby to discover the wonders of the Bay of Fundy, make sure The Wheelhouse is on your list!
Geoff W — Google review
Absolutely amazing meals, and our server was so awesome. The whiskey maple glazed salmon was the best Salmon I've ever had in my life 💚 My companions had the Spaghetti and Haddock & Clam bits also said they were fantastic. Will definitely be back and recommend to everyone I know that is heading this way!! Thank you to everyone at The Wheelhouse for a fantastic meal💚💚💚
Andi N — Google review
This restaurant was absolutely fantastic. It is very unassuming from the outside but very cute inside. We ordered the scallop trio plate and the scallop burger. Scallops were cooked perfectly 👌 This place was definitely worth the walk from the main street. Their pies looked amazing but we were too full for dessert. We'll definitely stop here again.
Karen L — Google review
Absolutely delicious!! The bruschetta was the best I’ve had anywhere! We had seared scallops and pork schnitzel. Both so good! Our waitress was the best!! So pleasant!! Beautiful view of the Bay too! We recommend the Wheelhouse in Digby for anyone looking for great food and atmosphere!
Linda S — Google review
Memorable dinner last night at The Wheelhouse Seafood & Pasta in Digby. All the staff were warm and welcoming. A special thank you to Anita and Jenny, who found me a table even though reservations are always required at this place, and to Taylor for the menu suggestions and the incredible service throughout the evening. The best scallops I’ve ever had in my life — I ordered the scallop trio. Overlooking the entire bay, it’s the perfect spot to enjoy a great meal with a breathtaking view.
Sylvain — Google review
Fabulous scallops...I had the scallops trio, and my partner had a perfectly done maple salmon! Friendly service...we were lucky to get a table early without a reservation... The place was soon full on a Wed night in October! Oh and the huge slice of coconut cream pie was amazing!!

The Crow's Nest in Digby is a charming and laid-back dining spot that offers a variety of seafood dishes, including seared scallops, pan-fried haddock, and delectable lobster rolls. The restaurant boasts a picturesque waterfront view, making it an ideal place to enjoy a casual dinner with family or friends during a summer vacation. Visitors can also opt for takeout service if they prefer to dine in the comfort of their Coastal Inns room.
~This review is for the restaurant only~ The Crows Nest should be considered the jewel of Digby! We ordered a delicious lobster roll, seafood chowder, and their pan-fried scallops. The lobster roll was a bit heavy on the Mayo side, which I enjoyed but my partner did not, so be wary of that! It came on a delicious texas toast loaf which pulled the sandwich together spectacularly. The seafood chowder is a bit soupier than were used to, but the flavours held their own. Lastly, their scallops were definitely the highlight of our meal. 8 freshly caught scallops pan-fried to perfection. Incredibly tender and delicious.
Tony W — Google review
Customer service was on point. Always so friendly to everyone. We came today’s with a group of 8 plus with a baby. They were very polite and quick. We arrived around 5:30pm, after we sat down it got super busy for the dinner rush. All the food was good. I wasn’t able to take photos of it all. The scallops 3 ways was a bit soggy. The thin batter fish and chips was good, I would be down to try the thick batter next time. The seafood platter was a bit bare for what I was expecting. The clam chowder was pretty good , a lot of great flavour so that one. The fried chicken was dry. The burger was good and fish sandwich was good as well. Overall the space was nicely decorated, food was fairly good, and the service was great.

What a beautiful little spot in Digby! It was our first time visiting and it definitely won't be our last. We were served by the lovely Marcia who made us feel at home straight away. Very friendly and knowledgeable. We enjoyed the most amazing seafood chowder..to die for! As well as the seafood combo and seafood platter which has great choices to choose from. We sat on the patio and it had the most lovely view. Great place to unwind and enjoy a meal :)
IsabelleMZ — Google review
My wife and I had 24 hours in Digby and we were looking for the best fried clams and scallops we could find. The Crow's Nest nailed it. I had a bowl of the best seafood chowder I have ever had and the fried clams. The clams were amazing. My wife had the fried scallops and they were out of this world. I have not eaten such great seafood since I ate at a small clam shack in Rockport Massachusetts 30 years ago. Service was outstanding and I was even given a takeout order of the chowder. We will be back. Thank you so very much.

I dined at The Crow's Nest solo tonight (mid October 2025). I was warmly greeted and Sat at a table right by the window overlooking the bay. The view of the sun setting was incredible, but not as incredible as the food. I ordered a bowl of the seafood chowder and a hot tea. The chowder was buttery, smooth and absolutely PACKED with huge pieces of all kids of magical seafood. Served piping hot with a roll & crackers, this dish is a perfect balance of texture and flavour. My server was kind and warm and attentive. It seemed like she was effortlessly connecting with every table. I can't wait to hop back on the ferry in the new future and pop in for more comfort food at this wonderful little restaurant. Thank you, Crows Nest!
Blair B — Google review
They have a dog friendly patio which was very nice. Had their seafood platter and chowder. Their chowder is amazing and so filling, the cup portion is huge! I didn’t really love their fried food, but that is most likely a case of personal preference. The service was great!

Delicious food, adorable atmosphere and fabulous friendly service. We were travelling through with our dog and asked if we could have him with us on the deck. They went above and beyond that...they brought him a big water bowl and gave him lots of attention which he loved! Also the scallops were top notch! Highly recommend 🥰🫶

Seafood restaurant
Captain's Cabin Restaurant in downtown Digby is a popular spot known for its excellent food and friendly service. The menu offers a great selection of steak and seafood dishes, as well as lighter fare and desserts. Visitors rave about the fresh and delicious seafood, particularly the scallops which are described as incredibly fresh. The staff is efficient and deals with orders quickly, ensuring minimal wait times. While some find the seafood chowder a bit bland, it can easily be adjusted to taste.
Excellent food. So good that we came here every day of our trip to Digby. The mashed potatoes and vegetables were perfectly cooked. The waitress was very nice. Little bit disappointed of the amount of lobster in the lobster roll. We will definitely be back next year!
Lily K — Google review
My first ever "Lobster Roll". It was shockingly expensive, small, gross. One piece of folded bread, with a few small bits of cold, soggy lobster. I would have been disappointed had I paid $12 for this....but I paid $30!
A.D. B — Google review
We were in Digby visiting and stopped at Captain's Cabin downtown for a late dinner. I didn't get a picture of my wife's food but it was stuffed pork roast which she really enjoyed. As appetizers, we ordered bacon wrapped scollaps, and battered mushrooms to share. I ordered Scallops St. Jacques, and my daughter ordered Shrimp Fettucine which came with 4 pieces of garlic bread. The food was served hot, and the waitress was very helpful and friendly even though there was only two waitresses working with a full house they still handled their customers like pros! The food was delicious and even though the restaurant was packed it still only took 20 minutes or so to get our food which was very impressive! Overall we got good portions of food that we all really loved and we will go back again for sure! My compliments to the Chef and our waitress for a job well done! Keep up the great work! 👍👍

Must say our meal was far from enjoyable. Comparable to a fast food restaurant. Expensive for what we received. Our bloody Mary was a watered down juice with very little flavor. The dressing for my salad came in a packet similar to dipping sauce. Nasty. French fries cold. Clams not fresh but rubbery. Bacon wrapped scallops came out of a box. All for the price of $105.00. We do not recommend this restaurant

We stopped for a late lunch and early dinner and had really good food for our first time there. It is a convenient location near the ferry and electric vehicle parking, which we were looking for.
Karen B — Google review
We both had fish chowder and lobster roll special. Fish chowder had 2 pieces of fish, mostly potatoes and no flavor. Lobster roll was over toasted and had very little lobster. One of the worst meals I have had in NS. I would not recommend this restaurant. Waitress was friendly , but understaffed so we had a long wait. I have hardly ever made a complaint but said I would not recommend the meal or this restaurant.

Restaurant was very quiet. Very few tables occupied. Ordered scallops cooked in butter and garlic, garlic was missing. Vegetables were luke warm and rice was cold on the inside. Due to restaurant being so quiet I could hear the "ding" of a microwave.?? Service was basic. Food was basic.

Churchill's Restaurant & Lounge is a hidden gem that offers an underrated dining experience. The carefully crafted dishes feature fresh ingredients, balanced flavors, and beautiful plating. We had a reservation here and were well and truly pleased with our experience. For a fancier restaurant, I left feeling full and happy. I had the steak, which was cooked perfectly, and the chocolate tart, and my husband had the pan-seared scallops and apple tart, and both were delicious.

A very charming place. The service was just so friendly, everyone smiling and willing to chat for a few moments, very important. The food was delicious, I had their infamous chowder and it was filled with sweet chunks of assorted seafood. Mmmmmm, so good. My wife had the haddock dinner and the fish was cooked to perfection. The restaurant is very bright and clean. We also had the breakfast buffet, the fresh fruit, Greek yogurt, scrambled eggs, eggs Benedict etc etc. Everything was delicious. We will go back.

Server very sweet and thoughtful and got a reduction in my meal and a free dessert. Caesar salad was amazing. Scallop appetizer was disappointing, scallops overcooked and small. Seafood chowder was delicious. Seafood fettuccine was delicious. Pan fried haddock very disappointing with burnt bits and burnt flavour, the veggies were extremely subpar - all of the broccoli going to seed.
Kathy C — Google review
Mediocre food at a premium, the pan fried haddock was dry and lacking flavor, the fried clams were tough and mostly breading, salmon and scallops were overcooked. The servers may have been doing their best, but the service was frankly subpar and they weren't extremely receptive to criticism or questions. Two party members had come here last year and recommended it but the quality of food was no where near where it was.

I'm surprised there are not many reviews for this restaurant, honestly it's so under rated. If this restaurant is in Vancouver or downtown Toronto, the cost of each dish could be easily 25% more. Every dish is carefully crafted with fresh ingredients, balanced flavour, and beautiful plating. You can tell the chef is very knowledgeable about different types of cusines and has extensive culinary experience. We loved every dishes from appetizer to dessert. And the service here is awesome too, very attentive but not too much. If I'm a local, I'd definitely come here over and over again. Thanks chef Dale for such a wonderful dining experience!

Sydney Street Pub and Cafe is a popular spot in Digby, run by a couple from Montreal and the Netherlands. The pub offers stunning maritime views and delicious food, such as the Catch of the Day or Veggie Burger. While some visitors noted that the food may take longer to be served, they found it worth the wait. The friendly staff and live music on Fridays add to its quintessential maritime atmosphere. Some patrons even had the chance to chat with the owners during their visit.
Absolutely amazing. We stopped by on a whim for lunch today, while passing through Digby on a hiking trip, and this place was amazing. I got the fish and chips, and they were perfect. Everything is made to order, so it was fresh and hot, and perfectly crispy. Fries were great, too. And they had a single piece option for the fish, so it was just the right amount of food. Our waitress was incredibly friendly, and even filled my water bottle up for me. I’ll remember this place, and will come back if I’m ever in town again!
Monica C — Google review
Best spot in town for consistent and delicious food. Very kind staff and affordable prices. Every year I look forward to their Oktoberfest menu, it is incredible and made from old family recipes. I highly recommend anything off the Oktoberfest menu, the fish/shrimp tacos, fish tostadas, pasta dishes and all the appetizers. The entire menu is great.
Hiren M — Google review
A true hidden gem. Every dish was beautifully executed, with the standout being a coconut‑lime‑pineapple‑asparagus risotto paired with perfectly cooked scallops. Friendly, efficient service and house‑made ice cream add to the charm. Don’t miss their seafood — I wish I’d ordered it as well as an appetizer.

Many excellent dishes. So good, we had to come back a second time. The fish and chips is easily the best we’ve ever eaten. Wonderful atmosphere overlooking the Digby harbour, with friendly and informative staff. We left wishing we lived closer so we could try the Fall menu.
Alicia B — Google review
Food was delicious! Waitress forgot us out on the deck, 37 minutes and we didn’t have our drinks yet, so I went in to remind. That was not a problem, it happens, we get it; but when she forgot us a second time when it was time to leave and we waiting for 15 minutes after finishing our meal, we finally had to go in again to pay so that we could leave. All of that aside, the deck was a lovely place to sit and the food was outstanding! Maybe they were short staffed (though it wasn’t very busy) or she was just having an off night, not sure but we would give them another try since it was so delicious!!!

Recently had an amazing meal here. I was impressed with the quality of the vegan options. The pulled jackfruit sandwich was a real standout. The jackfruit was prepared perfectly and the addition of mushrooms and peppers made it so delicious. Got it with roasted potatoes. We also tried the veggie burger, which was excellent. It had a wonderful char and was full of flavor. The toppings that came with it were delicious as well. The Indian chickpea curry was a journey of sweet, savory, and spicy flavors. I would highly recommend it! The basmati rice it was served with was cooked to perfection. Overall, everything was delicious and we're so glad we could go out for a nice vegan dinner while visiting the area.
Justin H — Google review
The scallops were small but very good and quite a few. The fish Tostada was flavorful but quite small for the cost and not very hot. ( temperature) The guacamole was out of a squirt bottle and had no flavor at all! We ordered the Keith ? Beer. It was refreshing altho not very cold and lacked flavor. I would pick a different one next time. A nice touch of a very cold bottle of water brought to our table but then given two plastic glasses. The service, Mary, was great.
Kay B — Google review
I like the place's atmosphere and staff though the food is a mix. Had a very good Bratwurst from the Oktoberfest menu and the kids enjoyed their meals BUT the Scallops were dissapointlingly small and few for the price and came cold (temperature). The seafood chowder was ok. Left a little disappointed of my very first Digby Scallops!

Josie's Place offers exceptional service and delectable cuisine. The dishes boast a genuine and comforting flavor, evoking a sense of homeliness. The recent renovation adds to the charm of the restaurant, featuring dividers between tables and a private kitchen, creating an intimate atmosphere for families, friends, couples, singles alike. Its combination of old-school ambiance with modern decor is truly captivating. Additionally, the menu offers breakfast all day long! The quality food comes at an affordable price point.
lovely diner with quick and kind service. food was delicious and cheap. place was clean and the vibes were immaculate. pancakes were especially delicious and fluffy. bonus points for the name.

Josie’s Place is an absolute treasure! This restaurant serves delicious home-style food that makes you feel right at home. Cozy place with nice decor and wall paintings. This is one of the very few breakfast options early in the morning in downtown area. Had been there for a brunch around 11:30, saw people still finishing their breakfasts. The seafood dishes are particularly outstanding, with fresh, flavorful options that are cooked to perfection. The only disappointment for me was, they don’t have any seafood platter or lobsters. We ordered seafood chowder, fish and chips, butter garlic scallops and the pancakes for kids. Portion size was good and yummy n tasty. It took a little time to get our order, the wait was well worth it. The quality and taste of the food more than made up for the wait. I highly recommend Josie’s Place to anyone looking for a fantastic meal with a touch of home. We’ll definitely be coming back!

Very good food, espacilly for the price. Very good bacon and potatoes, eggs and pancakes are also good. However, the Ham on the Cooks Special is a bit thin and should be thicker. Despite that very good, very big portions (for German standards at least!) and the price turns it into an awesome breakfast.

Place was filthy, bus boy was reaching over me while I ate to restock jams that I never asked for. The breakfast was so terrible I couldn't eat more than a few bites. I just quietly paid and left. First time there will never be back.

Took my daughter here for breakfast and was not impressed by anything here. Food was sub par, fish cakes were more like potato cakes, service was alright but kind of grumpy and felt rushed like we weren't wanted, could use a good cleaning. Table and seats were sticky 🙃
Stevie T — Google review
"A diamond in the rough" and "don't judge a book by its cover" would be my best descriptions of this place. This is a typical mom and pop diner style restaurant that has very affordable prices. All things considered after what the owner has endured during covid it is amazing they are still operational. If you want an affordable place to grab something to eat that is tasty while your in Digby, you should really give this restaurant a try. I will be the first to confess that I am from Digby and for one reason or another I had never given this place a thought which was very wrong of me to do as I have been missing out! Their food here is delicious every single time and I can say that with confidence because we ate there 3 times while we were in town and the quality was top notch. Their fries, beans, fish cakes, eggs and clubhouse were great! The only opportunity for improvement on the clubhouse would be to use real cheddar instead of the American cheese. Even if you charged a dollar more I would gladly pay that for real cheddar. I have to be honest and say some improvements could be made on the aesthetics, but given that it was a struggle for them to stay open with all the restrictions during the pandemic I cut them a lot of slack and focused on the food which is the main reason I was there. This is not a fine dining establishment so do not expect it to be as such. This is a place you go to eat an affordable and tasty meal, then leave. If you stay focused on the food you will be impressed! Give this place a chance and you will be a returning customer like I was 👍👍 Note: My 5 star rating is based on the food only.

Finding good Chinese food in this area can be a challenge, but House Of Wong Restaurant stands out as the best option in the valley region. Their hot and sour soup and wonton soup are truly exceptional, offering a delightful blend of flavors that hasn't been experienced for quite some time. The honey garlic ribs, Singapore fried noodles, and chicken sou guy are also incredibly delicious with generous portions.
Hot and delicious portions are generous and well cooked (perfect crisp) with authentic Chinese flavours like fresh ginger and garlic. Staff is very lovely and quick to bring the food out - ps fortune cookies were stale !
Kristen J — Google review
The good stuff: the portion sizes are awesome. They have family meal options that are, in fact, a deal that come in full portion sizes. We left stuffed. There is also variety in the family meal options. Appetizers and entrees. The crispy noodles to start are excellent and came with a homemade sweet and sour sauce. Everything was well cooked and had a great variety of vegetables in the dishes. The other stuff: Now, to be fair, I'm from the US, and perhaps this is how canadian Chinese food is served. But, the egg rolls had a sweet ground beef and cabbage mixture. Not bad. Just, different. The chow mein was pile of stir fried bean sprouts. Not bad, but for sure, not what we were thinking. You're assuming, or at least we were, that you're getting dried rice and meet and veggie and a noodle dish (in the family meal), and that isn't the case. Is the decor dated - sure. But it's kind of old school, classy Asian. All in all, we'd go back. Maybe ask a few more questions, but for sure, leave full.

Had dinner here with a group of 4 a week or two ago. The service is great. Friendly guy behind the counter, he was quick to seat us, take out orders and fetch our drinks. The food was good, I enjoyed the combination plate, which gave me the chance to try a few new things without having to order a 'full' main dish in order to taste it. However, one of my friends ordered a starter, and then a main. They were the only one to order a starter; it came, and about 30seconds later, so did all four main dishes. So they barely had the chance to begin their starter before the main meals arrived. We mentioned it to the server, and he said it would be raised with the kitchen. Hopefully it won't happen again (we've certainly never had it happen before in an other restaurant), but otherwise it was a nice meal, and we were lucky enough to get a great view of the basin from our table by the window.

The food used to be really good, but now IT SUCKS!! WORSE MEAL EVER!!!!!! The #5 combo had no flavor at all, even with soya sauce and salt still bland. Do not recommend to go there for chinese food. The cook needs to add flavor to their food or get a cook that knows how to cook chinese food. VERY VERY DISPPOINTED

The service at Wok By the Bay was prompt and amiable. The sweet and sour chicken provided a delightful gastronomic experience. However, the egg rolls and moo goo guy pan were merely satisfactory. Overall, it is an acceptable choice for dining out in terms of quality, speed, and friendliness. The establishment offers ample servings of delicious food at reasonable prices.
Well we are traveling from Ontario and visiting Digby... of course we were hungry and decided on some Chinese food and we asked around and they all told us this is the place.. There is an enormous menu to choose from and very difficult choices but I decided on...Denise our waitress recommended a few things. I decided to get combo plate e and my wife decided on combo plate C... You cannot go wrong with either one and the spare ribs are just insanely good.. Thank you Denise for recommendations.. anybody stopping in Digby Nova Scotia this is the place

Some of the worst Chinese food I’ve ever had. Beef and broccoli was more like broccoli and carrots with very little flavour. The beef was almost nonexistent. The rice was a little undercooked. Chicken balls are OK egg roll was horrible.

October 2025 - came in for take out before jumping on the ferry. staff was super friendly. We ate 2 bites and ate nothing else that we ordered. Genuinely blown away by how bad this was. Beef and broccoli was frozen broccoli with beef “bits”, beef rice was undercooked. Wonton soup was pink, broth tasted like nothing. Didn’t expect anything great, but this was quite underwhelming. Now our group is sitting on the ferry hungry and out ~$100

I had a take out order and it was delicious even having to sit in the container for the 20 minute drive home. The take out food container was efficient at keeping the food warm. The serving size was large and I easily made it into two meals. I had the weekend special and it’s a very good bang for your buck deal! Obviously dining in and eating the food as soon as it is served is the way to go for optimal quality however this meal came in pretty close to the dine in experience. I will be ordering again in the near future.

I had an outstanding lunch with my family at Pizza Delight, which I believe was the best meal we've had together in a while. The lunch menu is highly recommended for families as it easily served our party of four. Their Donair, pizza options, kids' meals, and desserts were all incredibly delicious. I can't stress enough how much I recommend this place! In fact, we enjoyed it so much that we ate here twice within one week.
Lovely pizzas, and the staff are friendly and welcoming. Service has been quick every time we've been in; we've been seated immediately, got drinks within 5 minutes of sitting, and food within 15 minutes of ordering. Especially recommend the Donair and Seafood pizzas for something different, the sauce base is delicious and unusual for a non-Canadian, but you can't go wrong with the classic meat and cheese pizzas either.

Recardos Pizza & Donair is a beloved spot known for its delicious donairs, donair subs, and garlic fingers. The pizza is also highly praised by many who have grown up with it. The staff are friendly and accommodating, providing efficient service. Visitors from out of town have raved about the quality of the food and express their desire to become regular customers if they lived nearby.
We bought pizza slices and ordered a pizza. The donair and works slices were big enough, loaded with fresh ingredients and super tasty. Great value for your money. I ordered a gluten free crust works pizza and I was very impressed. Loaded with fresh toppings and crust thick enough to provide a substantial meal. Most gluten free pizza has wafer thin crust and no where near the generous amount if toppings. Tasty sauce also. Super friendly service and fast. Would highly recommend. Shelley Hunter and family

Ordered 2 small donaires. Wow! What a mound of great donair meat you get on it and their donair sauce is awesome! Be aware that, the small only comes with tomatoes and onion. No cheese or lettuce. The eat in area is crowded with seating but still enjoyable. Thank you for a great lunch!

Service was not good. I asked if they had any vegan options-she handed me the menu. I asked about the potatoes, and was told they are available on Saturdays only. I ordered a decaf cappuccino. I saw her making the cappuccino from the main coffee bean dispenser. I asked her if it was decaf, and she said "oh right", then used different beans. I ordered dry toast, it came looking buttered. I said I didn't want butter: she took it back. She then came back with the same toast a few minutes later and said it was a vegan margarine as she pushed it back into my hand. Perhaps she didn't know what dry toast is. I asked for dry toast, but didn't want to argue about it. When I finished placing my order, I noticed a vegan carrot cake on the chalk board-that would have been nice to know before I ordered. When she was preparing my cappuccino, the tea towel fell on the floor-she promptly picked it up and put it back on the counter. Maybe she was having a bad day. The food quality was very good.

Carla's Take Out & Seafood Market is currently offering takeout services only. Despite this, customers have had positive experiences at the establishment. The staff is described as extremely friendly and helpful, catering well to both locals and tourists alike. One of their standout dishes is the delicious lobster roll, which comes at a more affordable price compared to similar options in Halifax.

We spent a few days exploring this part of the province, in Clare. We came to Digby looking for a scallop roll — and we found it! It was generous and delicious. Right next door there’s also a small fish shop where I discovered dried fish — something I haven’t seen in Halifax. Now I’m enjoying it little by little at home, because to get a new batch I’ll have to come all the way back here. And I definitely will — as soon as I finish the last piece of my dried fish! 🐟💛

Great selection of fish on offer from the market, and very reasonably priced too. The breaded Perch was delicious with home fries, and the Haddock bits were excellent air-fried in coconut panko breadcrumbs. Very meaty and tasty. From the restaurant side, definitely recommend the shrimp and chips, or the fish and chips. Some of the best Asian food just about anywhere! Not a huge menu but carefully and tastefully prepared. Not the old standard gen tau/ chicken ball stuff but very unique selection. Small dining area. Call first or you will very likely be disappointed. Very popular for those in the know.

Fast food restaurant
Subway is a popular casual counter-serve chain known for its build-your-own sandwiches and salads. The restaurant offers a variety of health-conscious options, making it a convenient choice for those looking for customizable and nutritious meal choices.
The new location is fast, friendly and has great service! Great job to the new owner!

I’ve never experienced such terrible service at any establishment before. We came here all the way from New Brunswick and decided to stop at this Subway. As soon as we entered, it felt like we made a huge mistake. We sat down for about 10 minutes, looking over the menu and deciding what to order, but instead of being welcomed, we were met with hostility. An older woman who appeared to work there gave us looks that made it seem like we were unwelcome. It was as if we were an inconvenience to her by simply being there. Then, to top it off, she aggressively came over and told us we couldn’t sit there, even though we were clearly about to order. When we finally did place our order, the food was absolutely terrible—far below the standard we’ve come to expect from Subway. Given the attitude and behavior of the staff, especially this older lady, it’s no surprise that this location has such a low rating (around 3 stars, if not worse). If the staff doesn’t want to treat people with basic respect and professionalism, then they simply shouldn’t be working in customer service. It’s shocking that management allows such rude and unprofessional behavior. This was such a disappointing and frustrating experience. If you can’t hire better people or ensure a more welcoming environment, it’s no wonder customers avoid this place. I’d strongly recommend avoiding this Subway location unless you want to ruin your day. I would have given 0 rating if it would be option
Prabhjot K — Google review
I think the two older ladies just don’t want to work. I asked for toast, and the machine was right in front of me, but they said, “We don’t do that.” They also didn’t know how to wrap a sub properly—there was no Subway sticker to hold it together. When I took it out of the bag, one half fell right out! On top they are rude!

Please note, they have moved from this location onto hwy 303, Conway, behind Shell gas. Though I don’t recommend it. I won’t eat there. It’s filled with toxic ingredients. Processed meats, breads and seed oils + in sauces. If you care what you put in your body, do your own research. It’s also crazy priced. Better off popping into the grocery store for premade stuff. You can get a whole cooked chicken for about $13. Convenience isn’t our friend…unless it’s fresh fruit and vegetables. :) They do have a nice outdoor sitting space out back. Just do not smoke. It’s toxic to not just you but anyone within range of being exposed. The word ‘virus’ actually means toxin/poison…not contagion. So cigarettes are loaded with viruses. Just look up Dr’s Mark and Sam Bailey for info.

Sat at the drive through speaker for 15 plus minutes, not once did someone say just a moment or anything. 1 car in front of me. If it’s generally busy at 8pm hire more staff. Drive off after 20 minutes still nobody said a word. God knows how long the car in front of me was waiting for their order

I sent someone in to pick up a foot long teriyaki as I'm under the weather and didn't feel like preparing supper Wrote down my order on a piece of paper Got my sub home to realize there's mayonnaise on it which I didn't order , I'm allergic to the egg in mayonnaise I'm a frequent flyer and have loved Subway since I was 8 years old , my order never really changes. I myself work in a food establishment and if we make a mistake it would more than likely come back and be done the way they asked it to be prepared "not oh whoops I boo booed" and continue on making it I'm sure I won't be refunded for my order or it be replaced So much for supper :/
Valene T — Google review
The women working had to the worst customer service I’ve ever had. She had a horrible attitude and didn’t want to take anything from anyone. The sandwich looked odd and nasty. I asked for extra bacon they gave me one piece. I don’t want to recommend anyone going there. The woman also told us that we could not eat in there when other people were eating. I fully do not recommend the subway. Most of the subways I’ve been to have never coasted this much.

On April 17th I went through subway drive through at shell at around 5-6:30pm. Got my usual and an hour later I had upset stomach and then power puking. As it’s on day 2 of this it’s obvious food poisoning and will not be returning to this subway. Also will be sending a letter to head franchise. Especially with seeing all the reviews with in the last year of the same people.

KFC, a well-known fast food chain recognized for its large containers of deep-fried poultry, alongside meal combinations and accompanying dishes. Although not frequently indulging in KFC, if one desires it, this establishment is the go-to destination. The personnel at this location are exceptionally affable and proficient. The eatery consistently maintains cleanliness and serves patrons with cheerfulness.
While I do not eat KFC very often, if you are looking for it, this is the place to get it. The staff here are very friendly and efficient. The restaurant is always clean and service comes with a smile.
Marcel — Google review
They have changed an old favorite into something that's almost unrecognizable. The only piece of chicken I recognized was the drumsticks....... everything else has become cut up into smaller pieces and can't be easily identified. Gravy and fries are bland and tasteless. Smaller portions for twice the price.
Tracy L — Google review
Chicken was pigeon sized. Pop was flat and warm. Returned it for replacement & waitress made a big show of waiting for the fizz to disperse, but it was just as warm and flat as the first. Had 11 pieces of popcorn chicken and cold fries. Totally disgusting. If I could give it a zero I would
Nichole H — Google review
I went there with my dad over the weekend. The chicken was really greasy and the fries and gravy were lukewarm. The only good thing about it was the coleslaw. The time I went there before this past weekend it was good. Depends on who's working

When we visit Digby every year we make a point of stopping at the KFC for a bucket of the Colonel's finest. The consistency and quality of product is second to none and the staff is always friendly and professional. Their recreation of a 70s dinner is spot-on! Very few meals are served in bucket format these days, so it's always a treat when we pop the lid off and inhale that familiar, comforting aroma. You just can't beat that blend of herbs and spices. Delicious. See you next year, KFC.

I visited Digby Big Stop Restaurant yesterday and was impressed by the friendly staff and clean environment. The food arrived quickly, was accurate, and tasted delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant with a perfect rating of 10/10. It seems that the Big Stop is underrated as it offers a satisfying club sandwich or all-day breakfast. The establishment provides good food and great service while maintaining a nostalgic 90s aesthetic.
Awesome food 😋. Their hamburgers are some of the best I ever had.

Stopped in for a quick work lunch with a colleague. Service was great. Food arrived quick. Food was pretty good. I ordered a hot turkey which I don't eat often, but was looking for something different today. It wasn't my favorite but it wasn't bad. I've eaten at other Big Stop restaurants and enjoyed the food more.

We stopped here on our way home from whale watching. The dining room was empty and it was very cold. We asked them to turn the air conditioning down and they were more than happy to do that. The gal who waited on us was one of the friendliest people we have ever encountered in this kind of situation and she should be commended for her service and wonderful attitude

TacOcaT is a fantastic dining spot in the Digby and Bear River area that offers delectable Mexican cuisine. The restaurant provides a delightful experience with its small sharing platter, which offers an array of tasty combinations for just $36. From the bean and guacamole taco to the chicken flautas, there is no shortage of delicious options. Not only does TacOcaT boast great food, but it also provides excellent service and a beautiful view.
My new fave taco joint for sure. Worth the drive to Smith's Cove (Digby area) in itself. I got pork, fish, and chicken tacos. Soooo good! Lots of the right toppings to balance spice and flavour. Dessert (churros) was also amazing btw...save room.

Excellent food. Lots of flavour with a wide selection of sauces. Reasonable prices. Very friendly staff. The views over the basin are spectacular. Their TacOcaT Lager is brewed locally and tastes better than Corona. Come for the tacos. Stay for the beer, views, and atmosphere.

Best restaurant around Digby and Bear River area. I live in Digby, and everytime we thought of dining out, we think of here. The menu is simple but the flavour is delicious. The atmosphere is warm and cozy during the winter, light and vibrant during the summer, so we can come here all year round.

I'd heard lots of good things, and who doesn't like tacos? Wanted to check this place out so I headed down with my family for a Taco Tuesday. We got there just before 6pm, so it was fairly busy. We were seated and then proceeded to wait over 10 minutes before being offered drinks or having a food order taken. I expected that it wouldn't be fast, but I thought that someone could at least bring us drinks while we waited. Food and drink orders went in at the same time. Drinks came a few minutes later. Waited quite a while for our food. We all ordered tacos. I would assume that they'd be well equipped to turn out orders of tacos on taco Tuesday. Apparently I was wrong. We finished our food and after a couple minutes someone came and cleared the food baskets, but no one asked if we wanted anything else - food, drinks, dessert. Nothing. We sat there for over 10 minutes before being acknowledged again. One of my kids wanted another taco. The rest of us decided we were done at this point and didn't order anything else. I expressed my displeasure at the timing of the service to the server who eventually returned to our table. It was about 7pm, so we'd been there for over an hour just to eat a few tacos. The food wasn't bad, but it wasn't incredible either. The service was lackluster. I'm not sure I would return.

Looking for a spot for dinner and Mexican food sounded good. Really happy we decided to stop in... And especially enjoyed the small sharing platter ($36). Tasty combinations and a good selection for the two of us. Our two favorites were the bean and guacamole taco and the chicken flautas. Sweet place, excellent service, great food and beautiful view.

Beautiful spot right on Bear River. Had the fish, chicken and pork tacos along with their very own Tacocat beer, it was all amazing! Fish tacos were out of this world good. Great assortment of hot sauces from mild to crazy hot. Super fast and friendly service!

Our server was great, she made a killer margarita! Would suggest the fish tacos over the chicken. It was an easy, and not too pricey meal. They have SO many sauces to choose from! The view was beautiful and peaceful.

Coffee shop

Breakfast restaurant
Tim Hortons is a Canadian chain renowned for its premium-blend coffee, as well as its selection of light fare, pastries, and breakfast sandwiches. This establishment offers excellent service and delectable food options. It stands out among other coffee shops due to its signature offerings. Notably, Tim Hortons has become comparable to Dunkin' Donuts, but with the added advantage of offering a Beyond Meat "sausage" option for those seeking a vegetarian or vegan alternative.
I had a wonderful experience at Tim Hortons #102058 in Digby, NS, thanks to Macalah, an exceptional server. It was truly refreshing to encounter someone so polite and courteous, dedicated to ensuring every customer enjoys their visit. I had two Tim Hortons cups that I had purchased earlier, and she took the time to fill them perfectly, leaving just the right amount of space at the top to prevent any spills. Her attentiveness and commitment to service made my day brighter, leaving just the right amount of space at the top to avoid spills. 😀

This Tim Hortons in Digby is a great spot, especially if you're looking to take a break on your road trip. Stopped here for a breakfast on our way to whale watching. The location is convenient, right off Highway 101, making it a perfect stop during a road trip. I loved that they have picnic benches outside near the parking area—you can enjoy your coffee and snacks while taking in the beautiful surroundings. The service was friendly and quick, and the coffee was as good as always. It does get a bit busy during peak times, but the atmosphere and view make it worth the stop!
Ravikant A — Google review
Made an online order expecting it to be like the other tim hortons I've done that at where they make it and put it on the counter to pick up, but I ended up spending my entire break waiting, just to go up to the counter and have them not even know the order had been made until I told them about it.. I'm not blaming anyone, but there should be some kind of sign explaining this if it's not going to be done the same way at every location. When the app gives me a screen telling me my order is going to be completed and put up on the counter to be picked up, without being told otherwise, I'm going to believe it to be true.

Busy location yet no wait inside. Nice layout with seating for conversations or sitting alone to work on your computer or read. There is a fireplace and was on in August. Good selection of coffee, donuts, muffins, and other delights.

Ordered a can of infuser, the top was quite dirty, so the worker tried to wipe it with a napkin, when that didn’t work he put part of the napkin in his mouth and used his saliva to clean the top of the can. I asked for a new one and he giggled, then went and only rinsed it under the water and tried to tell me it was a new can.

We were read the lunch specials and chose the wraps. We were not informed they are not specials. There is no difference in price from the menu. They are simply being pushed to sell that day. The Ceasre wrap (18$) was good but the lobster wrap lacked lobster land cost 28$. Nothing special about this place. Tourist trap.

Not good when you find a black hair in your Mac and Cheese. Nobody in my family has black hair and it was on the interior of the Mac and cheese. Also, where was the cheese on the nachos. The waitress never came back to ask how everything was. No toilet paper or soap in one of the bathrooms. My wife asked to see the manager. After waiting for a while the waitress said the manager was too busy to see her. I believe this restaurant may have staffing issues. On a positive note we were not charged for the Mac and cheese and the drinks were good.

Golf enthusiasts can enjoy the immaculately groomed 18-hole championship golf course, while others can indulge in the outdoor heated pool and Aveda concept salon and spa.
I had a wonderful stay! The beds were comfortable, the room was spotless and the free breakfast was buffet was wonderful. The pool was great, the gardens beautiful and although we were unable to hike the trails because of the forest fires there was a beautiful park to sit in and a path to walk for exercise. The building itself is beautiful. The staff was wonderful and also helped me to find my keys. Thank you so much!

We were able to book a room last minute as we came off the ferry and decided we would like to stay the evening in Digby. The service was great throughout the entire experience. Our meals were fantastic, breakfast was very good and included with our room. The quality of our room was good, the bed was comfy and we had a beautiful view. My only wish is that the bathrooms were updated, the space is small and difficult to utilize. Overall we had a positive experience!
Mikayla S — Google review
The building itself is impressive. The public areas of the hotel are beautiful. The room was a huge disappointment. The bathroom desperately needed maintenance and updating. It actually was kind of creepy to use, with discolored grout in the shower and a hole in the corner of the wall. We live in an historic house and know you can update while keeping the integrity of the architectural style. The elevator was out of order the entire time were there. On the plus side the air/heat unit in the room was updated, worked well and was quiet. The pool was quiet, warm and wonderful. The fitness room was well equipped. The breakfast was very good with fresh made to order omelets.

This is an old CP hotel that still stands the test of time. The views and location are spectacular!!! The restaurant is great....good breakfast for sure. The rooms may seem a bit dated but due to the original design there is only so much you can do, and that is part of the charm. Be sure and take drinks in the lobby bar....you may get an Overlook Hotel from The Shining feel, the room has all the touches of that bygone charm. The cottages are a great golf trip destination too.....

I got my reservation date mixed up. The hotel called me the night we were supposed to be there and rebooked us for the next night without charging us for the missed night! Wonderful! I don’t know how many hotels would do that…I was so thankful! The accommodations were wonderful! They have an outdoor heated pool with a sauna which was great for a cool evening. The staff was awesome! Very friendly and helpful! I highly recommend Digby Pines.

I stayed at Digby Pines for our anniversary & did they ever make us feel special! We were treated like royalty and were shown really special gestures on arrival to celebrate our special day. The front desk really went above and beyond to make our first stay a memorable one, and we are so grateful. Any cons mentioned were really overshadowed by the attentive staff and beautiful location. Will DEFINITELY stay again. Pros: Really comfortable bed & pillows. Starbucks coffee & real creamer in rooms. Free breakfast buffet with EXCELLENT selection of items. Nice bathroom toiletries provided. Great location, beautiful grounds & close to town. Wonderful staff. Cons: Loud comforter (crinkly material). Older bathroom/rooms not pictured on website. Pool is outdoors and was freezing during our stay. Restaurant was a bit pricy, room service menu is limited and expensive.
Elizabeth B — Google review
Enjoyed a 3 day stay and found the staff to be tremendously accommodating. Breakfast buffet was excellent and the dinners of seafood were outstanding. The building is beautiful, perhaps a bit of faded elegance but a beautiful place to stay none the less. Our room was very nice with a fantastic view, however we were located near the elevator and given the age of the building and the elevator itself we experienced the associated noise....next time same room type further down the hall would be great. Golf course was fun to play, albeit due to a record drought this year the course suffered.....that said the greens and aprons were obviously the focus of the staff and made for rewarding finishes at the end of each hole. Overall, a great stay!! If driving as we did, I would also recommend taking the ferry from St. John to Digby (or vice versa) as part of the experience....ferry pier is less than 2 kilometres from the hotel.
Keith M — Google review
We are rating the rooms and service a one star for 7 reasons: 1. Despite that the elevator has been out of service for about a month - no one bothered to share this extremely important detail with when we booked a stay prior to our arrival as there were multiple flights to get to our room, and double that to get the the dining room from our floor. 2. No working elevator is a massive safety issue as well. 3. There is no signage anywhere outside to indicate where the front desk is, so we drove back and forth many times trying to find it. 4. There is a signficant amount of stairs to climb to enter the building where the front desk is located. Nowhere on the web site does it indicate any of these signficant to any senior issues regarding stairs. 5. As to the room - it was small, the shower was mediocre at best - once we had hot water the next day. 6. Our room was directly above the lounge (where we were greatly disturbed by hearing very word to every country & western song being performed and sung to and by the lounge customers - and that went on for a few hours). We should have been informed of this as well before being placed there - as we would have refused a room above that kind of racket. 7. The day we checked in about 5:45 pm, we had no hot water, and despite informing the front desk, had none until the next day - beyond belief for a hotel that is supposed to be a 4 star!!! Dining experiences were great, staff everywhere were great - always apologizing and trying to help, and the location is great. But don't go there expecting a 4 star resort, it is more along the lines of a 1.5 or 2 star.
