Coffee ☕️ and service with a smile. Such great team, and warm welcome. Wish we had time for food there. (Next time) One of the most amazing bathrooms in anywhere I've visited. Just simply beautiful. Gift shop inside also. Just lovely!

Best brunch in Tassie - everything was great, the food was amazing (I had the seasonal special of panfried scallops), the coffee was excellent and the decor and ambience was on point. Wonderful staff and chefs too. Would come here again and again. Thank you for providing such a great experience!

Second time eating here in 5 years and they've definitely upped their game. More alternative and vegan options on the menu. We got the Smashed avo and Spiced beans. So good. A good amount of food and super delicious. I love spicy and mine was. Coffee was good too.
Jan N — Google review
The café looked absolutely divine by the bay — warm, cozy, and full of charm. We tried the homemade spiced beans, breakfast croissant, and beef burger, and everything was delicious. The coffee was rejuvenating, and the staff were genuinely friendly. Loved the little boutique inside too — such a lovely touch! A perfect spot in the heart of town and definitely worth the stop. 🌿☕💛

Absolutely amazing food, friendly attentive staff and beautifully decorated full of charm and character. I could have spent all day in here. The only downside was having to decide which meal to order as I won't be back until we visit tassie again. There is also the loveliest corner of local arts and treasures I just had to pick up a few things.
Saffron H — Google review
Stopped for 2× Cappuccino — both excellent. But the real highlight is the atmosphere: charming inside with lots of character, and absolutely gorgeous outside. Beautiful seating under the trees, cosy cushions, relaxed vibe and sunshine — the perfect place to slow down and enjoy the moment. Super friendly staff and a place that instantly feels good. Wish we had more time to stay longer. Highly recommended.
Reto J — Google review
We started our day having brunch here before heading to the Bay of Fires. The Canadian Waffles were not bad (maybe I am slightly biased as I am Canadian myself), but the House Made Spiced Beans, with jalapeños, were sooooo good. We wished we ordered two of these. We added a hash brown which was also good. Service was also excellent. And it was a very windy morning, but we were free to change seats. A pleasant experience all around. Highly recommended.

What a fabulous little cafe ! Incredible food, delicious food and such a wonderful cosy atmosphere inside and a garden area to sit and chill inside. I honestly wish I were local because I would be here several times a week !

The Wharf Bar & Kitchen is a charming restaurant situated in St Helens, Tasmania, offering stunning views through its expansive windows. Sitting and dining by the shore was just the touch after a great day in St Helens. We surely enjoyed the friendly staff and the well prepared food. The Lobster was the best I have ever had. It was really amazing and melted in the mouth! The steak was cooked to perfection. Thank you 💛💛

Family of 5 , this restaurant was very accommodating. Fortunately they had enough room and from the moment we walked in , the service was on point . Waitress was very kind and prompt. Food was absolutely delicious. As we said to the manager , best seafood 🍤 on our trip so far . Every dish was great . We did not have a bad meal. To finish it off . We grabbed ice cream from next door . Tasmania made ice cream . 🍦 The view from this venue was great as well. Truly waterfront .

Had a great experience at the Wharf bar and kitchen! The food was delicious and worth every cent and the staff were super friendly! A great selection of food and drinks and the venue itself made for a great atmosphere! Can highly recommend giving this place a go! The oysters and the dumplings were delicious! It’s a 5 out of 5 star rating from me!

Popped in here for lunch at 12 - with our baby. Staff were super friendly and put us in a brilliant spot by the window with great views and space to park the pram. The food was 10/10 - simple as that. One of the best meals I’ve ever had. The oysters were fresh and tasty and the fish of the day just as good. My partner needed dairy free options which were accommodated, and to be fair, tasted even better than the standard menu. We had such a great time and can’t wait to come back!

The Wharf Bar and Kitchen is such a great spot! The food was absolutely delicious, and the oysters were super fresh and tasty—definitely a highlight. The staff were so friendly and made us feel really welcome. Plus, the view of the bay was stunning! It’s the perfect place to relax and enjoy a meal. Highly recommend checking it out! Thank you 😊

I had the special of the day which was a mushroom risotto with truffle oil. It was full of flavour and perfect cooking of the rice. Very happy . One of the best risottos i have eaten. Forgot to take a photo but had a wonderful table overlooking the water . Thank you !

5 stars for the prawn & scallop dishes as they were delicious. 4 stars for the prawn dumplings, 3 stars for the crab & dill arancini as could only taste the dill. Amazing views over the water & exceptional service.
Vern — Google review
An amazing place, a beautiful experience, even when the panna cotta hadn't set, the lovely wait staff, came back with such caring and apologised, and asked if we would like to look again at the menu, or simply end our meal then... there was no pressure... yes, we looked again and had our 2nd choices. The Classic Fish & Chips: the fish, the salad, the salad dressing, those chips, perfection! The orange and almond cake with raspberry coulis and delicate violets... was so delicious! We had 2 lovely young ladies attending us, and we were made to feel welcome and special, just as if we were the only 2 people in the dining room, and we were not, let me assure you; it's just that everyone else was around the corner from us, and not in any of my photos. 😅 We left with very happy bellies 😀😀😀

French restaurant
Furneaux Restaurant & Comptoir is a charming French restaurant nestled in the scenic town of St Helens, NE Tasmania. It's a popular spot for both locals and tourists, celebrated for its delectable French cuisine and warm ambiance. The chefs have put their own twist on classic French and modern Australian dishes, offering delights like Canard a L'Orange and Strawberry Romanoff. Despite its unassuming appearance, the restaurant has won over many with its attentive staff and top-notch service.
I had looked up some Google reviews before making a reservation a weeks ahead of time, but I totally forgot about it until I got a friendly reminder text the day before! Let me tell you, our dining experience was simply fantastic and went beyond our expectations. Every course was delicious, and the staff were super welcoming. A huge thank you to Jonathan for the amazing dessert and delightful chocolates!
Cheryl B — Google review
Cosy restaurant with charming staff. We did not realise there would be amuse-bouche which is a very generous touch. We had the pork loin and seafood medley. Very generous servings. The roast pork wasn’t super tender but the flavour was good. Unfortunately having had lunch out, we did not have room for an entree instead favouring desserts which were superb.

My son and I booked this restaurant based on the outstanding reviews and I can report that the experience exceeded our expectations. The food was incredible. We had the scallops as a starter and I had the fish of the day whilst my son had the lamb. Finishing of with handmade sorbets. The wait staff were so welcoming and the chef checked in with us and other diners to ensure we were having a good time. It was just a stop over in St Helens but so happy to book this amazing place.

I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about this restaurant and what I should say. It’s been on my mind for a month now. First, we were met at the door by the chef - this was a bit weird. Second, there was a strange atmosphere in the front room where we were all sat. This restaurant was aiming to be a five-star destination. I don’t mind that as long as they deliver on their intentions. Sadly, they did not deliver - there were many problems. They didn’t have Campari, so I couldn’t enjoy the evening as planned. Campari is a standard item in any bar, especially one that was aiming to be a prestigious restaurant. My entree was cold. It was the ravioli with pumpkin. The French onion soup was very good and I liked the pallet cleansers between courses. When dessert time came we met the real chef - he came out of the kitchen and did a very heavy and hard sell on the chocolate option. It was delicious however the sell was aggressive….and others in the restaurant also the sell - even when one lady said that she didn’t like chocolate! I understand that this is an unfavorable review, some places are better than others - try it and decide for yourself, I hope you enjoy a better night than us.

Wow, what an experience. My fiancée and I have recently moved to Tasmania, from the UK, and we booked a night at this restaurant whilst having a short break in St Helens, in early May. We were both blown away by the impeccable service, classy surroundings and amazing food. So often in this hectic world, we eat for the sake of it, cramming meals in between our busy schedules or attending restaurants for a quick feed. But this was different - this was an experience; something to be savoured and enjoyed. This is what going out and eating at a restaurant should be about. The staff and chefs were all so friendly and engaging. The fact the chefs come out of the kitchen and speak to you is a testament to their passion and ability. The food was mouth watering, yummy and cooked with finesse and class. They also provided us with an array of complimentary tastes between the dishes. Overall, our experience was first class. We will be returning to St Helens in the future, just to be able to experience this wonderful restaurant again. Thank you 😎

The food at Furneaux Restaurant was absolutely amazing! I was so impressed with how delicious the beef and lamb were – truly top-notch. Cooked perfectly and so flavorful. Highly recommended!
Suppakit F — Google review
Delicious, yet kooky. Tasmania's Fawlty Towers, but with foie gras. With a waitress darting around in a mild state of panic, chefs in towering hats sprinting up and down creaky wooden stairs to deliver plates, and the unconventional lighting choices on each table, it felt as if we'd wandered onto the set of the Muppets. Our table was lit by a plastic white lamp, while the table across glowed in green—yes, green—like they were starring in their own private sci-fi/horror flick. At these prices, you may expect mood lighting that feels a tad less intergalactic. The food? Tasty, refined, and clearly the product of serious culinary talent. And while the service and setting teetered on the edge of chaos, it only added to the experience. In typical French restaurant fashion, it's expensive. And while the cuisine may justify the price, the decor doesn’t quite match it. There’s even a table positioned at the entrance off the street—right next to the toilet and the cold St Helen's wind. Again, great for comedy, but I'd suggest not to sit there. To top it off, the chef came by for a chat after dessert. When he asked how the food was, I said “amazing”—a genuine compliment. He responded with, “Amazing? What do you mean, amazing?” as if I threatened to push him into the Seine. It added an unexpected layer of awkwardness to the evening that was, oddly, part of the charm. But we were grateful for all of it. The bizarre, unintentional humour of the evening gave us a truly memorable experience. Furneaux may not aim to be theatrical, but it can't help it. If you’re up for gourmet french food served with a side of sitcom, this place delivers—spectacularly.
Stephen K — Google review
We had an unforgettable dinner at Furneaux last night—an experience that blended exceptional food, warm hospitality, and a touch of magic. We started with the Soupe à l’Oignon, a rich French onion soup beneath a golden puff pastry crust, and the Ravioles de Crevettes et Crème de Potiron—prawn ravioli in a luscious pumpkin cream sauce. Both entrées were beautifully crafted and full of flavour. For mains, the Longe de Porc with a light mustard sauce (Sauce Moutardé) was perfectly cooked and subtly balanced, while the Cuisse de Canard Rôti with blackcurrant sauce (Sauce Cassis) was bold, tender, and unforgettable. Dessert was a showstopper: • Paris Brest with praline cream, toasted hazelnuts and almonds, • Nougat Glacé—a nougat parfait with Grand Marnier caramel and pistachio praline, • Millefeuille de Pommes—an elegant apple millefeuille with walnut crumble and vanilla ice cream, • and three assorted fine Belgian chocolate pralines. To top it all off, the staff surprised us with a beautiful birthday message on the dessert plate, a candle, and even got the whole room to sing along. It was genuinely heartwarming and made the evening truly special. The atmosphere was elegant yet relaxed, the service was impeccable, and every detail felt thoughtful. It’s no surprise that Furneaux has been recognized nationally and locally: • Best Regional Restaurant in Australia at the 2024 Australian Hotels Association National Awards for Excellence . • Restaurant of the Year – Regional, Best Fine Dining, and Best Stand-Alone Restaurant at the 2024 Tasmanian Hospitality Association Awards for Excellence . • Best Restaurant – Regional for three consecutive years (2022–2024) . Furneaux is a gem of a restaurant—we can’t wait to return. Good job Team Furneaux! 💛💛💛💛💛

Loved this groovy, smart, cinema here in Saint Helens Tasmania. There’s food and wine available from the generously stocked bar everything from slushy all the way through to your customized cocktail of choice. The food options were two fold - Thai or Burgers. This offered a simple but relevant choice for anyone attending. Loved the cinema. I’m so glad that someone has the passion to construct. Manage and operate a perfectly good 50 seater cinema space. I really applaud this decision. I’m sure it’s of great comfort to both locals and tourists.
Craig M — Google review
Saw this near the place we stayed for 2 nights and thought it would be a seedy Asian place. Instead it’s a big warehouse type with indoors and outdoors and live mic as well as a cinema room (requires a ticket). Has a Thai/Asian station, a burger one and 2 stations for drinks (they brew their own Thirsty Tiger beer which is decent). Tried the Thai curry and I found it a bit too sweet for my taste. The burgers are very nice though.
The D — Google review
So many great choices — the cocktails and food were absolutely delicious! I can't fault a single thing. The building is big and spacious, and it seems to handle large groups well. It wasn’t too busy when we were there — there was a bit of a wait for the Thai food, but it was definitely worth it!
JC — Google review
Took a group of 10 people here and staff couldn’t have been more helpful. Great choice of drinks available from the brewery side. Excellent food from two eateries managed separately. Thai or Burgers. Fast turnaround and cooked freshly. Definitely recommended
Dawn H — Google review
What a great place! I don't drink beer usually as I'm more of a Guinness girl so these were delicious. The staff were amazing and so helpful and warm. The Thai was the best I've eaten for a long time - the curry puffs were so delicate and delicious. The burgers looked amazing as well. We were there for Mic night. Heaps of families were there.
Emma H — Google review
Loved this spot! Can choose from thai food which was delicious. I had the thai summer prawn salad which was supposed to be a starter or side but was enough for me after a huge lunch! Also classic burgers which included a veggie mushroom option. Good selection of local beers which is nice to see. Pub quiz on Wednesday night was brilliant, it was so well put together with entertaining questions and drew a nice welcoming crowd. I arrived alone as a solo backpacker and left with friends. 😁 There is also a cinema here which the owner mentioned runs every night I think, worth checking what's on! If I'm ever back in the area I'll definitely be back!

Everything about this place is sensational, well set up, great atmosphere and friendly staff...kids loved it too. Breeze Burgers is inside this joint too, and was well worth the 5 stars rating.

Pizza restaurant
Italian restaurant
Trimbolis Pizza & Pasta is a highly recommended restaurant that provides great service and delicious food. The staff goes above and beyond to accommodate customers, even when they are about to close. The seafood gourmet pizza is particularly impressive, with its amazing flavor and a crust that is both brilliant and packed with toppings. Other menu items like the TexMex and BBQ chicken are also fantastic. Customers appreciate the well-received ravioli and perfectly sized portions.
Nice customer service. Great crusty pizza dough and nice pizza. Good inside place for friends and family's. You can order Pasta and Pizza when you are there.
Milly J — Google review
Lovely family driven restaurant. Everyone seems to help out. If you're looking for an authentic Italian experience - this is not the place. If you're looking for cheap food for a cheap price - this is not the place as well. The pasta didn't taste fresh at all. The noodles (pasta marinara) were all sticking together and there wasn't much seafood in there in the first place (also pasta "marinara" is not the same as pasta "frutti di mare"). The pizza was okayish but also not quite the real deal. The base is not selfmade, but pre bought and then just topped up with ingredients. It was quite empty when we got there, yet the food took roughly 45min until it arrived. As already mentioned, the whole family seems to be helping out, even the kids (which I actually find remarkable), but one of them seemed to take his role of "clearing the tables" too seriously and came around our table every other minute to take plates and napkins, which were still in use (we weren't done with eating). The lighting in the room is very bright and reminds me more of a canteen than an exquisite restaurant. There's a lot of potential there.

Wonderful family style restaurant. Great pizza and good selection of pasta, wine and beer. Very friendly staff. Would recommend for visitors passing through St. Helen’s.

Here's a potential 🍴 As a Kolkata local, I'm used to bold flavors and spices, but the food here was a bit blunt and lacked the kick I'm accustomed to. Maybe it's the continental influence, but it didn't quite hit the spot. That being said, the food was fresh, which is a plus. 👌 Ambience was good, though! 😊"

WHERE DO I BEGIN! There’s no better place to celebrate your 30th birthday! What an exceptional experience!! It was like dining at a 5 star restaurant! The staff were super attentive, friendly and delivered amazing service to my partner and I. We managed to get a beautiful window seat and had the whole restaurant to ourselves which added to the atmosphere of our romantic date! I wish I could have taken a photo of my carbonara when it first came out, but I couldn’t wait a second longer to get into it, and before I knew it, I had already demolished it (see empty plate of creaminess below)! I would wholeheartedly recommend anyone to spend a first date/birthday or even business meeting here. Will be back again for sure!! :) :) Thank you for making the start to my 30s an outstanding one!!

First class service. I am disabled and they couldn't be more helpful. Food was excellent. We shared two different pizzas and some garlic bread which was just perfect. The restaurant was very quiet though, which took some of the shine off. I like it a bit rowdier and convivial!

We arrived in St Helens at around 8:30 and this was the only restaurant open, so decided to try as it looked like a busy restaurant. I must admit that the moment Pizza was delivered to my table, I knew a lot of love and passion has gone into it, well presented, fresh and melting in the mouth. (Pictures attached) We also ordered Pasta and a slice of Tiramisu, both were awesome. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I decided to let the owner know about how I felt about her restaurant and she was very happy. I also had a chat with one of her staff sitting outside in her car, next to my car after her shift finished, and I got to know that the owner is actually very passionate about what she is doing and has been running this family business from the last 20 years. I always love to support local and family businesses. All the best to the whole team

It was the only place which we found opened at that time to have some Italian food to feed our stomach. We ordered Pasta with Cheese and Creamy Garlic Prawns with White rice and Salad. Pasta was not that good as expected but Garlic Prawns were so Creamy, yummy and delicious. Good place to have food in St. Helens

Nestled in the charming Stieglitz/St Helens area, Parkside Bar And Kitchen is a delightful gem that promises an unforgettable dining experience. With its inviting atmosphere and friendly staff, this spot has quickly become a favorite among locals and visitors alike. The menu boasts mouthwatering options like the 30-day dry-aged steak, which is expertly cooked to perfection.
I ordered the BBQ Chicken Pizza, Seafood Mariana, and the fish and chips. The pizza was the best pizza I have ever eaten in my life. I would eat it everyday if I was staying here for a long period of time. The fish and chips was crazy good as well, it melts in your mouth!!! The Seafood Mariana, no words needed as well done as the rest. Not forgetting the service here is totally awesome, even in the midst of the busy dinner service, they were extremely polite and they even took time to explain the menu. To end off, you will be definitely missing out if you skip this place. It was the best food I have ever had so far.

This place has THE BEST seafood pizza I’ve ever had in my life. We were recommended this place by a previous accommodation we had stayed at and so we made the trip up to give it a try! Not only was the service so friendly - the man who served us was so personable and really went above and beyond for us and I couldn’t be more appreciative for how welcome he made us feel and how nothing was too much trouble - but the food was amazing!!! If you want the best seafood pizza in the world, you must try this place! It is absolutely covered in toppings (you won’t find any ‘free’ space with visible dough) and the flavours are so expertly paired. Thank you to the server and the chefs for such a memorable experience!

Lovely food, friendly helpful staff, beautiful views across the bay. Nice protected outdoor area overlooking the water. Prices quite reasonable. Great selection of drinks. Budget options like pizzas. A modest bottle shop as well.

Parkside Bar and Kitchen is one of the best dining spots in St Helens. We went there for dinner and had a great experience from start to finish. Making a booking was easy, and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The service was quick, and we didn’t have to wait long for our meals, which was really appreciated. The food was exceptional — we ordered pizza, chips, pork, and chicken wings, and everything was fresh, well-prepared, and full of flavour. You can tell the chef takes real pride in the dishes. A big thank you to the team for serving such delicious food. The restaurant also offers a lovely setting with a beautiful view, making it a great place to relax and enjoy dinner. There’s a good variety of drinks and desserts available too, so there’s something for everyone. Overall, we were really impressed with both the food and the service. It’s a must-visit spot when you’re in St Helens, and we’ll definitely be coming back again

Went here for lunch at 1pm on Saturday and had an incredible experience. We were greeted and looked after by Cathy, who was absolutely amazing, friendly, attentive, and full of great recommendations. We started with the Kilpatrick oysters, which were incredibly fresh and packed with flavour. For mains, the Tasmanian lamb shanks were melt-in-your-mouth delicious, and the Caesar salad was perfectly done. We also enjoyed a couple of fresh mocktails while soaking up the beautiful view of the bay. The food was outstanding, the service was exceptional, and the atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming. A huge well done to the chef and the entire team at Parkside Bar & Kitchen you made our day. We couldn’t be happier and will definitely be back!

What a lovely dining experience! The reviews gave us direction, but the food and service delivered better. The service was great, but to have that level of food too? Awesome. Thank you team for a really wonderful evening for my wife's birthday, we had the very best time.

Why haven't we been to this little gem sooner! Such a great vibe, excellent service and delicious food. We shared the Snapper Croquettes and had a Lobster Roll each. Absolutely delicious. The cocktails are very tasty too. Staff were very attentive and friendly. Beer garden looking down on Bourke street a beautiful tranquil place to sit and just listen to the sounds of the city underneath. I'll be back soon for sure 🍸

I’m someone with a deep passion for lobster rolls, and I’ve travelled to many places just to try them. This isn’t a PR post for another restaurant, but honestly, I’ve had lobster rolls all over Australia and none have come close to the one I had at a spot in Seattle, USA. That said, the lobster roll here was still quite decent. For a more detailed breakdown: I ordered the crab taco, and this is truly a dish you must try if you visit this restaurant. It was fresh, well-balanced in flavor, crispy, melt-in-your-mouth, and refreshing – it really gave me the feeling that I didn’t waste my money. Now, about the lobster roll: In Australia, they’re usually served with a warm bun and chilled lobster filling. There isn’t much variety in sauces or preparation styles. Still, the dish was tasty, even though I personally prefer it hot. The lobster itself was highlighted well, although the flavor didn’t exactly blow me away, and the portion of lobster was a bit modest. The fries that came with it felt unnecessary to me – I’d much rather trade them for extra lobster or a special sauce to elevate the dish. I also ordered a cocktail with a vodka or tequila shot (can’t quite remember), and they made it change color – the flavor was fantastic. The ambience was beautiful, especially the outdoor area – open, warmly decorated, chill, artistic, and full of good vibes. Service was excellent – the staff were super friendly and attentive. The total bill came to $93.32 – I’m not sure if I tipped. All in all, I’m glad I came for the experience, but just for that – the experience. I’d happily pay more for a lobster roll like the one I had in the US, but I wouldn’t spend this much weekly for a roll that comes with two-thirds of the plate being fries.

Beautiful little venue in the city !! Very welcoming and bubbly staff !! The young lady serving us was super friendly and made the evening very enjoyable :) The food was very delicious!! The Lobster roll is incredibly delicious but very small. We also tried the Fish and Chips and Burger and both were amazing!! Wildly comprehensive drinks menu!! Spicy Margarita is unreal ! Worth checking out ! :)

appreciated the general atmosphere of the venue for a pre-show dinner; front of house staff were efficient & kind, and were able to accomodate me at short notice. i found the starters / entrees amaaaazing, but felt that the lobster roll was a little anticlimactic (albeit experimental) in comparison, sadly </3 it was my first ever lobster roll though so thanks for that Pinchy’s! i’m sure i’ll make my way back to pick off some other seafood items from the menu, the vibe is simply too good to not do so.

The place was really nice and everything great atmosphere but when I went to pay for my “Wagyu beef burger” that I ordered with the 50% as an end of day deal it was $48 down to $24! We checked the menu and the 2 pieces of lobster it came with was an extra $10 we never ordered so why?!?! It should’ve cost us the standard price and half of that. Shifty place added on extra we didn’t know and at this point it was too late as it was eaten! How would we know and we just had to pay :( 21/06/2025 10:15pm

Popped in for a sneaky drink and a small bite to eat on a Sunday afternoon. Service from the staff there was 100%, prompt and had an awesome vibe. The venue itself has a fun fitout and the outdoor area is bliss on a sunny Melbourne day. Highly recommend. All our food was delicious, croquettes, tacos, oysters (freshly shucked) everything amazing

Awesome place to visit when the weather is nice as their rooftop has lots of space and cool people watching view over Bourke St. I asked if I good modify a mocktail to make it a cocktail and the staff were happy too! Clean facilities and bathrooms. We didn’t try any food this night but would definitely come back to try.

The Bayside Hotel is a budget-friendly property located in the beautiful downtown area of St Helens. The hotel offers simple yet comfortable rooms with options for both town and bay views. Guests can enjoy a casual bistro with scenic bay views as well as a sports bar on the premises. The hotel's staff is known for being helpful and responsive, ensuring guests have a pleasant stay. Additionally, the hotel provides convenient access to restaurants, coffee outlets, and shops nearby.
While we were on our road trip in Tasmania near Fire Bay, we decided to stay at Bayside hotel for the night. The staff was friendly at check-in and let us park the car to bring in the luggage, and showed us the parking afterwards. The highlight for us was the convenience of having plates, cutlery and a microwave in the hotel. We did not have this anywhere in other hotels in Tasmania and it was so thoughtful. Highly recommended!

Staff, location and cleanliness of the room are all 5 stars. Where this room (number 15) lacked is due to an odour of very very strong bleach, what made it worse is that there is no aircon and no ventilation without opening the doors, so that's what we had to do until after 1am, which was freezing. I was so close to sleeping in the car due to obtaining a headache and chest pain from the odour, but didn't feel safe in doing so. The following morning staff were made aware of the smell, they were receiving of the feedback and apologised. Unfortunately for me it means a very tired following day and painful chest to navigate whilst travelling.

Room very tired but clean. No room service which we found out was due to it being a public holiday rather than told in advance. Having asked for 2 cups as our room had not been serviced was told not possible. A joke. Do not recommend you stay here. Woukd investigate other options.

Raida St Helens is a restaurant that offers a fusion of modern Australian and Japanese cuisine. The menu features exotic and diverse options, with helpful and patient staff to guide your choices. Dishes like Gyozas, whole snapper, beef, and oysters showcase the delicious blend of flavors. The attentive service from the friendly owner and staff adds to the relaxing dining experience. Additionally, the cozy decor with a wine cellar wall complements the overall ambiance.
Great restaurant find in St. Helens! I’m usually not a fan of Japanese fusion but it was surprisingly good! Seafood were all fresh and the whole fish was delicious. The seafood soup had a nice spicy kick to it for the adults. I would recommended :)

We weren't sure what to order in the beginning, as everything sounded quite exotic. The staff was very helpful and patiwnt with us however, and so we were able to choose what sounded best to each of us. Digging in, we were positively surprised. The taste was really good. The Gyozas were lovely and diverse. (We chose 2 of each variant). The main course was also delicious. The Porter was cooked to the point we wanted, the duck breast soup was also really tasty. In the End we had some gin to finish the evening. All in all we had a great time. Happy that we stumbled across this place in this rather sleepy Town. Thank you to the the very capable and friendly staff and chefs =)

Some lovely flavours mixed among the modern Australian/Japanese. Japanese flavours in the oysters were excellent. Probably skip the deep fried one. Other dishes and dessert was also lovely, hood job Chef's. Decor including the wine cellar wall were nice additions. Customer service from first lady as we entered was nice. I would suggest a uniform, as both ladies were a little casual, bjt can understand this is in a small town. As visitors, it would have also been nice to see the fire place on, given the temperature outside. Above are just suggestions and not negative feedback 😊 All in all, a nice place for dining when visiting.

Once in a while, I discover a true gem. That’s when I wish I could have an extra star 🌟 to give!! Robin Island tomahawk wagyu was incredibly outstanding. If they have that on the menu, pls do yourself a favour and just order it!!! Cooked to perfection, umami crust and melt in your mouth tender juicy meat. OMG!!!! Mixed oysters (panko crumbed and tobiko oysters especially tasty) scrumptious. We had half roast chicken in master stock. I’m not a fan of chicken breast (often too dry) but this was juicy to the last breast:) Ask for the Alcorso Pinot Noir 2012! Thank you so very much guys. So special 🙏🙏🙏

On a two week trip around the entire of Tasmania this restaurant was by far the best. The food was absolutely amazing and Gordon the owner was a welcoming host. I highly recommend anyone passing the St Helens area to stop in and have one of the best meals you’ll have in Tasmania.
Rotor A — Google review
We are usually very sceptical about Japanese fusion food but Raida met our expectations. Started with locally sourced (mostly) sashimi platter was fresh. Tuna tataki was generous in portion and flavoursome with good Japanese dressing. The very friendly lady recommended fish of the day: locally caught red snapper, grilled with miso paste smeared on one side. Its flesh was moist and not over cooked, with miso marinade adding subtle saltiness and sweetness. I would however suggest freshly cut (length way) shallots and needle ginger instead of the cooked ones. This should make the dish more appealing and complement freshness of the beautiful fish. Loved the food and service. The co-owner told us a reason for serving Japanese style cuisine in town and it all made sense to us. The Restaurant was very busy Tuesday night, which tells us a lot of why. Well done, Raida, and thank you for the lovely dining experience.

Wow, what a stunning Restaurant. Really enjoyed our Dinner. It’s great to see a place like this in a small town. The fit out was modern and comfortable with great attention to detail. The waiter was friendly, professional and helpful. The drinks and food menu was plentiful and seemed to be something for everyone. In this day and age, catering for the Dietary requirements of Veteraians, Vegans, Lactose free, etc is a given and will always add value and credibility to a Food business. The amenities were clean and Covid requirements easy and in line with current requirements. We will definitely be telling anyone heading this way. Thanks again and look forward to returning again soon. 🍴👏🏼 😃

A local recommendation which was a fabulous one! Freshest ingredients superbly presented and delicious. The okonomiyaki was superb with an option to add prawn and the sashimi plate with 2 large oysters was equally tasty. The ladies looking after the customers were personable and professional and represented the restaurant well. A definite recommend to travellers to St Helens.

Diners beware. When John ( The elderly gentleman ) is working, he is excessively rude and abusive. He drowns burgers in sauce or mayo until you can not taste the fish or salad. The young lads are great. Food is incredible, service is great. Went in today, and they weren't there. Instead, the elderly gentleman was. Was trying to discuss with my partner what we were getting, and John is busy telling me to shut up and kept asking my partner what we were ordering without us knowing or discussing what we were having. Got the burger and onion rings, onion rings were fantastic as usual. Bit into the burger.... It was soggy with Mayo. No taste of salad, bread, or Barramundi. Just mayo. Just like you have dipped a spoon in a jar of mayo and then put it in your mouth. Spat the bite out and threw the burger to the birds. So diners beware. If the young lads are in, ya golden. But if the old fella is, just walk across the road and get something elsewhere.

We ordered takeaway salt and pepper squid with chips and added a salad. The squid was not fresh, the chips were really cold and dry and looked to be from two different batches and the salad had off pineapple that tasted like it had fermented whilst sitting out all day. Unfortunately we threw the whole thing out. We had checked reviews and expected it to be decent! Really disappointing.

The SOCIAL Tasmania offers a cozy and inviting atmosphere with mismatched furniture and interesting plants, creating a charming vibe straight out of the 70s/80s. The hosts, Em & Mike, have curated an incredible experience with stories behind every piece of furniture. The menu features delicious margaritas and fresh, tasty food prepared with love. It's a great place to enjoy informal dining in a retro setting with good music in the background.
A truly unique spot; from the carefully curated decor, music, and cocktails, to the well-maintained landscape of the outdoor seating, a lot of thought has gone into making the space as memorable as the food. We enjoyed Japanese street food—fried chicken, chips with spicy aioli, and an exceptional slice of coconut cake. Can’t wait to go back and enjoy a new rotation (they have different food trucks featured throughout the week). It is a fun spot for kids, though it would be good for date night, too.

Additionally, the vegan fungi schnitzel and hot stuff pami are described as amazing, with generous portions at reasonable prices. The menu offers plenty of choices for everyone, including kids' options.
Phenomenal little cafe. I so wish I’d taken a picture of my chicken sandwich. Had no idea what I’d be biting into! One of the best of my life!!! Beautiful crunch on the buttermilk marinated breast. I wouldn’t recommend this place for breakfast (I haven’t been there for lunch or dinner so can’t say anything about the rest). We ordered the smashed avo and pulled pork Benedict and it wasn’t good. The poached eggs were overcooked, no feta cheese with the avo (menu says it has feta) and barely hollandaise sauce on the eggs. The coffee was good though and that’s hard to find in Tasmania

Great gem of a place. Sooooo much good food available in the shop and so many gluten free options. Good price and a lot of local tassie produce. The gf crumbed lamb cutlets from the store were delicious for dinner. Venison jerky was yum! Super fresh GF chocolate muffin. Open late into the evening, it’s a fantastic option when other dining spots have closed their doors.
This was actually one of the only places open after 8pm, great if you’ve run out of options, even better once you realise how good the food is! Large portions, good presentation and full of flavour. We had the Massaman beef curry and the salted egg. We did really want some additional vegetables but none available on the menu as a side (e.g morning glory), we requested some but they advised they could not vary the menu, which was disappointing. Nevertheless the food was excellent.

Such a beautiful place to eat. The food was delicious with big flavours and generous portions. They are right on the bay with a big deck overlooking the water so the kids could play outside. Came here only after reading the 4-5 good reviews. Bad mistake! Waited 1.5 hours with kids and elderly family just to be served cold spring rolls and an average meal is just unacceptable The male owner I think, a total jerk and bully with no customer service skills and absolutely rude. Food was ok but after waiting so long, one would probably eat anything. The alarm bells should have gone off when we saw other people complaining. Entire staff looks demoralised. Bill was $226 for 7 and in no way worth it. End of a great day ruined by this creep.

The best Thai food we ever had. Unique and modern, generous plates with refined presentation and fresh, top class ingredients. The fresh rice paper rolls were to die for with the clever side elements around, and the pad Thai was fabulous, wrapped in an omelette style fine coat. This place really deserves to be a don’t miss-out, even visiting from far away.

Good food reviews online. Rang and ordered take away. Advised will be called when ready. Called to say ready for pickup. Entered via the deck area to find the owner yelling at kitchen staff. Go to the desk to pickup order and the owner Anton rudely says “go sit in the bar and wait” despite being told I was rang to pickup order that was ready. 15 minutes go past, speak to polite and friendly staff member at desk. Food has been ready and only luke warm. In the mean time, watched the Anton bloke go around and have a go at staff berating three staff in a few minutes. I’ve seen happier staff working in a mortuary, one looked like she were about to cry. Pad see ew was ok but very greasy, very nice spring rolls and sauce. Thai staff member on the desk was very friendly but felt the need to apologise for the owners rudeness (no need to apologise for someone else who is rude mate). Food 6/10. Anton’s customer service 0/10. Perhaps if you’re going to be so rude you’re best suited to a back of house role or go and invest in some customer service training. Worst service and rudeness I’ve seen in St Helens, actually, Australia.

Nestled in St Helens, Mohr & Smith is a delightful dining spot that offers an impressive menu at great value. While the food may not be the absolute finest, it certainly satisfies with dishes like fish and chips and Chicken Laksa. The ambiance strikes a perfect balance between relaxed and stylish, featuring both indoor seating with cozy leather couches and an inviting outdoor area. Patrons rave about the extraordinary oysters and a diverse selection of wines that complement their meals beautifully.
The food and wine selection is amazing. We ordered the rib fillet on the bone and grilled fish - we were thoroughly content. The atmosphere is relaxed and the staff attentive and friendly. All you want in a restaurant at the end of any day.

We had lunch there (fish & chips, and Chicken Laksa) food was nice. It was an early lunch (we got there just before 12pm) the restaurant was quiet - but started to get busy, quickly, over the next hour. I can see how other reviewers noted it is understaffed, by the time we left it was noticeable that an additional wait-staff should be on.

For our table of six, one was served half a glass or orange juice (which they told us about and rectified by a whole new glass), they gave us 3 napkins (rectified by a refill), food took about half an hour to come out then one order was forgotten. So these things need to be looked into by management - It's a Wednesday afternoon. This aside the food was delicious and though it seemed a little pricey, the servings were generous.

Great Food, but be sure to book in advance - we were turned away one night because they were fully booked.

Beautiful place, however with a half empty restaurant and less than a quarter of the tables with a reserved sign we were told we would have to wait half an hour to receive service! I can't understand it... 9 tables of people are sitting around without food. Prices far too high for the level of service. Should be better.

While we've only had a slice of lamington cake here (which was very good), we noticed someone eating a steak breakfast that looked really good. We didn't have time to come back and try it for ourselves but we will next time we're in town.

Apparently "Sea Breeze" doesn't exist anymore, this Cafe ist now called "Naturaliste". Had some Eggs Benedict there. It took them ages for preparing the meal. Considering the price of 19 Dollars and the really small portion I'd say its quite overpriced. Was still hungry when I left. Coffe und service were okay. They don't offer toilet-facilities.

The staff at Sea Breeze are amazing, so kind and helpful. We like to get our laundry done here when travelling, then sit in a relaxed comfortable atmosphere, connect to wi fi and get some work done or not. Just relax!
