Thai restaurant
Thai Imperial, located conveniently near the museum and market, is an excellent choice for large gatherings, weddings, and other significant events. This restaurant specializes in delectable Asian fusion cuisine that incorporates Tasmanian ingredients whenever possible. Their event space can easily accommodate big functions, cocktail parties, and weddings. Start off your dining experience with a refreshing cold beer or a delightful cocktail followed by one of their enticing entrees for two.
Wow. The meal was delicious. The cocktails were awesome. Atmosphere sublime. Service was so polite and friendly. Can't wait to return. Even had a walk along the river afterwards and saw the sunset. Fabulous evening.
Kerrilyn A — Google review
I wouldn't recommend. Not authentic Thai food. My prawns for entree had no hint of corriander in the sauce and topped with parsley, not corriander. Waitress wasn't very helpful. The restaurant was overbooked and understaffed. My mint slice cocktail was full of ice. Yuk. You are better off going to the Pub.
Aussirose T — Google review
I took my family out for tea. It was wild weather outside we came inside it was so warm and inviting. Very friendly, polite and helpful staff. Meals didn't take long to arrive, was good timing. Our meals were fresh, well presented and very delicious, great size and very filling. Staff came and checked on our meals and to see if everything ok. Which is very nice to do. Nothing a problem. Prices were reasonable as well. Highly recommend and will definitely be going back.
Jo — Google review
Ordered trio pork for $34 delivery, I received this messy box with three kind of overcooked very salty pork dishes in mini portions + some rice. Packed with a cardboard box so the sauce all soaked underneath and the meal arrived cold, hard and messy, so unappealing. The dishes didn't taste Thai, more like Chinese. Such a waste, I wouldn't even pay $20 for it.
K H — Google review
Experience the royal flavors of Thailand — a culinary journey once reserved for the palace. Thai Imperial cuisine: where tradition meets. Serving with royal grace — every dish, every smile, every delivery.
Harman S — Google review
Our interstate visitors wanted Thai food to celebrate a birthday. Waited over an hour and no food served, despite people arriving after us receiving their food. Approached staff about the unacceptable time delay and were told it was being cooked now. Waited another 15 minutes then told staff we were leaving. I can only comment on the drinks ... the water bottle was dirty/greasy on the outside, the wine glass had the letters Thai Imperial stuck on it ... half the letters were missing/had fallen off. Let's just say Gordon Ramsay would have a field day here.
Lisa L — Google review
After a cold beer and delicious cocktail we enjoyed an entree for two. Although we chose different meals from an extensive mains menu we both chose different satay dishes that were so delicious, I’ll definitely try mine again sometime.
Cheryl R — Google review
Food was ok but very rude staff, just because one time do wrong entry which we want to corrected but she told us is ok and let us in, we said we sorry but then she remind us 6x about the way out with serious/annoyed face, before order, after ordering, when the food came, when she take out our appetiser plates, taking out maindish plates (plus remind us where is the cashier located), after paid our meal. I feel like she want us out from the restaurant since the beginning but just not to obvious, also my husband insisted to try their meal. I have worse experience ever.

Belly's Bar N Grill is a restaurant that opens every day from 7:30am and offers a wide variety of take-away meals. It has a large seating capacity of up to 90 people, making it an ideal place for any celebration. The menu includes daily chef specials and they also have happy hour from 5pm-6pm every day. Customers have praised the delicious food, such as the calamari plate and bento box that delighted the kids.
The food is exceptional, and the customer service is outstanding. The slow-cooked lamb and stuffed chicken are the best I've had in Australia. I nearly visited every day during my trip there. It's truly a top-notch restaurant.
Grace X — Google review
The food took a long time to be prepared, we waited for over half an hour. The seafood platter was served in a fish and chips style, and all the fried items were overly greasy, heavy, and lacked seasoning. The meat could have been more flavorful. On a positive note, the sauces were quite tasty overall, and the smoked salmon was delicious.
Nurcihan K — Google review
Well what a nice suprise. I was really impressed with this restaurant in Latrobe located approximately 8km from Devonport. First visit to Belly's Bar n Grill for brunch this morning. Nearly a full restaurant tucking into a hot breakfast and a pot of T. Servers Talei and Ava were polite, attentive and professional. Well priced and delicious breakfast, wheel chair accessibly front and rear of premises. I will return on my next visit to Latrobe.
Bree W — Google review
Very sweet folks serving some excellent grub. We had fried squid (delicious), a soup of the day, grilled flathead and downed it with a bottle of Pinot Gris. Bliss.
Shamsher M — Google review
The food is great! There is an extensive menu with a dedicated vego/vegan page as well as plenty for the kids. Enjoyed my experience so much I'm heading back for dinner again in a few weeks. WOW that cob loaf was sensational!! And we loved the way it was served. Also had the twice cooked pork belly and the mixed grill this time. We were not disappointed.
Anita B — Google review
Had the twice cooked pork belly as there were rave reviews about it. Bought it, ate it, LOVED IT!! Heck it was so delicious and the crackling so crunchy, yum! The service is what made it extra special though. I had Ange who served me. She was so nice and indulged in my tourist chit chat and helped me for my next day trip. Perfect spot for a quick nip in or a relaxed drinking spot. Thanks Ange!
Brittany C — Google review
the nearly 40 dollar price tag on the pork belly + the place literally being called ‘bellys’ set a very high bar for me. anything less than ‘exceptional’ was gonna be a disappointment. but they actually did it!!! the pork is perfectly crispy and delicious, the mashed potato was made to perfection. i can’t believe I’m endorsing a meal thats nearly double what i would pay for it, but they managed to pull it off. come here on a special occasion, and try that pork, you’ll see what I mean.
Ryan ( — Google review
Food was good but not quite what we expected the dumplings lacked flavour could definitely do with a sauce or just extra flavour in the filling. pork tacos special was tasty but the meat could’ve been more juicy and the portion size could’ve been bigger for the price. service was immaculate nice atmosphere and drinks were good. lots to choose from to eat, would come back again to try something else.

5+ stars. We shared the seafood for one. OMG there was so much!. Tasty salmon, very lightly battered juicy white fish, great garlic prawns, oysters kilpatrick, s&p calamari. I cant eat scallops so the waitress happily arranged they be replaced. All cooked to absolute perfection. Only dissapointment - we could not fit in dessert. I guess we will have to come back tomorrow. 😃

Date night we headed to The Lucas for Dinner. We are now kicking ourselves we haven't been before. Will definitely be out favorite spot.

Shocking amount of food i had five pieces of salt and pepper squid a tiny bit of salad . $ 23 . Plus a ser charge on top of that cost for using my card. 1.50 cost to everyone who shared my friend birthday cake. I'll a local. Much nicer places to eat that actually value for money. Absolutely shocking.
Rosanna H — Google review
Took a workmate and his wife for a meal on world of mouth. Not disappointed at all. Shared two entrees. Garlic pizza and danper. Both alright, nice crusty bread and well topped pizza. For main I had crumbed scallops, very nice smaller meal and chips were fantastic. He had steak and onion rings she had steak with prawns. Both were very happy with their meal. He had sticky date pudding for dessert and I had self saucing chocolate pudding. Both were very good but size wise the sticky date was better value. Will be back.

Beautiful Cafe, have got food both for takeaway and dine-in on and off from here for more than 5 years, have never had a bad experience not once, they're a steal for the quality you get compared to other cafes in this area. If you're looking for breakfast or brunch, even if you're in East devonport I would recommend you drive here.

We went here about two months ago and really loved the cafe.... Prices were good for great food. The coffee was good and not over priced and the service very friendly!

Called into Latrobe to visit Reliquaire (amazing shop!) and happened to spot Shadows cafe on the way. Decided to have lunch there and oh my!! The food was amazing - we had the roast pork special of the day (scrumptious). Other meals looked equally delicious. The staff were delightful and cheerful and certainly made it a great atmosphere. Highly recommend this little cafe to anyone visiting Latrobe. And don’t forget to visit Reliquaire - a wonderland for children of all ages!!
Meredith G — Google review
My husband and I have been here twice. The first time we had nachos and loaded wedges, which were really good. No complaints at all. We went with some friends a few weeks later and two of us ordered burger, I the chicken burger and my friend a hamburger with the lot. Firstly, the "burgers" had slices of toast instead of burger buns. I thought maybe they had run out of burger buns, but no, that is how they do their burgers (we asked). Secondly, my burger/sandwich was very underwhelming. As a chicken sandwich it would have been average, as a chicken burger it was pathetic. My friend's burger with the lot did not come with beetroot or pineapple, and the egg was runny. Adding an egg to a standard hamburger does not classify as "the lot". This visit was disappointing.
Marianne H — Google review
Absolutely fantastic service, fresh and hot meal, I ordered the club sandwich, it’s huge and delicious. Highly recommend.
Tracey M — Google review
Will never buy food here again. Bought a salad for me and a biscuit for my 3 year old son. Was in the middle of winter and the cafe was empty. Told my son to choose a table and the lady said "sorry salads are only for takeaway you can't eat in here"". There was literally not a person in the place and all the table were empty. We went and sat on the step outside and 3 year old who has just been sick complained that he was too cold. We had to go across the road and eat in the car. Spoke to some people out front who were looking at the menu and said to be careful what you order as they may not let you sit down. They decided to go somewhere else. Will not be back or recommend this to anyone. Worst service I've even experienced in my entire life. Shame on you.

Omg best food in Tasmania. My partner had steak and chips and I had a chicken schnitzel and chips with pepper gravy. This is he second time we have eaten here before going on the spirit of Tasmania...omg. so good. The gravy is amazing. I highly recommend. I just wish other places in Tasmania were this good.

What a great pub. The meals were so big what I sent back would have fed someone else. And if you’re old like us you get a beer, wine or soft drink with your meal, bonus. Would certainly come back here if we make it to Tassie again.
Kim W — Google review
Ordered a steak naturally wanted gravy on it, seen on the menu they offered lactose free asked if I could get that gravy to be told they don't do that and that my only option for any gravy lactose free I could get the Neapolitan sauce from a parmigiana. No thanks so, I had a dry steak and chips. They kinda also decided that I did not need salad dressing on my salad, I kindly ask if I could have some salad dressing as my meal was already dry enough. The steak was cooked well but I was not satisfied with the meal. Just a tip don't assume what the customer wants if I asked for no salad dressing then fair enough. Venue overan by screaming children one that entered the play area with a butter knife, and then walked on top of the table.

If you're on the lookout for a delightful spot to enjoy breakfast or lunch in Latrobe, look no further than Banjo’s Bakery Cafe. This charming cafe is more than just your average bakery; it boasts an extensive menu filled with savory dishes, sweet treats, and expertly crafted coffee. With a focus on community and quality, Banjo's creates a welcoming atmosphere where you can savor freshly baked goods like their renowned pies and sausage rolls—rumored to be some of the best around!
Today we were here. There was a small problem with our chicken avo roll. The lady, who I think was the manager of the restaurant, apologized to us, solved the problem, refunded our money and even offered us a dessert. I forgot to ask her name but we thank her for her interest.
Eylül T — Google review
Today I watched a young woman walk around cleaning tables. She had disinfectant in a spray bottle but refrained from spraying it on a single table. To my horror she then proceeded into the bathrooms, same cleaning cloth, for a quick wipe over. Upon completion she then left this filthy rag with unused spray bottle on counter near coffee machine. I mean for pity's sake basic hygiene principles should be necessary when working in a shop that serves food. No bloody wonder viruses spread so quickly. Lift your training Banjo's.
Ella B — Google review
Well what a shock after arriving at 4.20 pm and asking for a toasted sandwich to be told the toaster is off and has been cleaned and can't be turned on again today "It's Policy". What poor service. Great location and option nice staff. Rule that are customer unfriendly turn People away

Bought a couple of sausage rolls for a rip off of $17, and to add insult to injury, it tasted like crap. I will avoid Banjo's chain from now on
Shoresy — Google review
Visited this bakery Saturday 12/4/2025 and ordered a continental roll great, white Vienna uncut loaf given sour dough Vienna asked for correct one, green tea great, English breakfast tea not so great(no milk in it) went to the pick up counter after many attempts at waving for service the manageress came over with a stern face(for pulling here away from chatting with a team member. After showing her and asking what’s missing she didn’t have a clue. Upon telling her there should be milk she stated I should ask for it. Stating that English breakfast tea 99% of the time has milk it would make sense to ask the customer. The whole Experiance was not great after being asked to leave the shop. Shame on the younge lady, maybe more training in customer relations would help. Plenty of other cafe/bakeries in the strip.

Young lady that served me was great. Didn't rush and put together a great meal withought being stingy on the ingredients. Have had some bad experiences in the past but I'll be back after her great service.

I really dont know if the serving sizes have changed after the recent renovations but $15 for a salad bowl this size is a bit ridiculous. I'm sure it's a massive surprise that I'm still hungry after eating this...

worst subway we have ever had- the person who served us seemed miserable, all of the produce was clearly from the day before or longer, not topped up and dirty tins asked for some onion she just rudely said “ we don’t have onion “, didn’t even go out to check or explain. Chicken Schnitzel was completely cold- not even heated up before toasting! Im never one to complain but this is an exception ! Waste of $40

I had a great experience at Subway today, thanks to Cooper Syfield! Cooper's friendly and welcoming attitude made my visit enjoyable from the moment I walked in (it was lowkey hot). He was efficient and took extra care in making sure my sandwich was just right, even offering some great suggestions for toppings and sauces. The whole process was quick, and my sandwich turned out perfect—exactly how I like it. Cooper’s professionalism and attention to detail really stood out, and I’ll definitely be coming back for more!👨‍❤️‍💋‍👨 Highly recommend this Subway location and Cooper’s excellent service!

This used to be such a great fish and chip shop. Now it's terrible. Since the new owners took over its been shocking. We tried it once, it was horrible but tonight thought we would give them another go, very limited selection, overpriced and the food is horrible, will never go back So sad, see my review from two years ago it was awesome, not any more

Really good food and friendly staff. I had to step out just as the food arrived to deal with my screaming baby, and the staff put my food under the heating light to keep it warm without being asked. They were apologetic that it may not be very good when they brought it back (it was fine) but I had expected to come back to cold food so I was happy. There is a play area outside for the kids and it's fenced off and you can see the kids easily from the restaurant which is really good when they've finished their food and they're getting bored. Also easy parking and some good photo opportunities. There is a shop full of cherry products.

If you are heading to Devonport and want to grab coffee...any snacks..or rest ....best place to go. Even you can buy local handicrafts, local cherry relish, local cherry Jam. Among all i tried cherry ice cream oops forget to mention which is best to try.

We had a slice of cherry pie with vanilla ice cream and it was delicious. Service was excellent. Unfortunately we came when it was off season so no fresh cherries (we expected this before visiting so not an issue).

Wow really have to say I enjoyed being here . Got myself a cherry ice cream made with real cherries and thoroughly enjoyed it . Would thoroughly recommend this stop to everybody going by this way , located just outside of Devonport. They have a wide variety of different sweets and desserts as well as Wines and an awesome gift shop.

Unfortunately the time we went already passed the season so no more fresh Cherry available. Only frozen, but they do serve a good varieties of desserts made from cherries and produce like pickles and sauces.

I’m the first customer to bring my own reusable box to purchase the cherries. Do something for our environment, bring your own containers, that’s easy. 🍒
