Where to eat: the 20 best restaurants in Caesarea

I recently visited this restaurant with a group of 13 people for dinner, and unfortunately, the experience was quite disappointing from the start. Upon arrival, the hostess greeted us with an unfriendly attitude and told us to wait while she got approval to seat us. After a few minutes, she returned and said it would take 10 minutes to prepare a table, asking us to wait in the meantime. Once seated, the service felt rushed and disorganized. Our first course arrived at the same time as the main course, which made the whole meal feel chaotic. We ordered three beers, and one of them was served with a fly inside. While accidents can happen, what followed was unacceptable—a glass of soda was served in a broken glass. One particularly frustrating incident involved our 8-year-old boy, who has a food allergy. He requested a hamburger without tomatoes and pickles due to his allergy, but the waitress refused, saying, "This is the standard, and I can’t remove any vegetables from the burger." This lack of flexibility and concern for dietary needs was very disappointing and concerning. The food itself was average, nothing to write home about. However, the most disturbing part was the hygiene. We noticed stray cats eating from leftover dishes on nearby tables that hadn’t been cleared. This is a serious cleanliness issue and made us very uncomfortable. All in all, the atmosphere, service, and hygiene left a lot to be desired. Sadly, I won’t be returning and cannot recommend this place to others.

The most romantic place in Israel for me. Exceptional views, especially on sunset or like on our visit - super blue moon. The food is good - fresh fish and seafood. Less liked seviche, but tuna special was excellent.

A family of 3 generations. Except for the toddler all are "foodies". Including the toddlet, all loved the food. The view to the sea is great and the atmosphere realaxing. We will come back

An Evening to Cherish at Limani Bistro Limani Bistro, with its enchanting views of Cesarea's ancient port, felt like a cozy Greek haven. Every bite, from the focaccia to dessert, was a delightful surprise. Our waitress was a ray of sunshine, attentive and genuine. A small mix-up with our order was swiftly and graciously handled. A tip for future visitors: book in advance, this gem fills up fast! Our hearts are still warm from the memories of that special evening.

This bistro is located in a historic place in the city of Caesarea near the sea. This is a crowded bistro, and we had to wait for the ordered table for about 40 minutes. I was served with the burnt ordered dish. Then I waited another 30 minutes for the new ordered dish. I would like to mention the waitress Belle, who did her best to cheer me up while I was waiting for my order. As a result, they told me that in my case I shouldn't pay for this portion. In general, there was a positive impression from visiting this bistro.

This restaurant is located within the confines of the national reserve in Caesarea (14 NIS per person to get in, the restaurant refunds 7) right on the water toward the end of the spit affording amazing sea views and views of the Roman ruins. Service was attentive, accurate and polite, the food was tasty and the prices reasonable. Plenty of vegetarian options and even a vegan option. Parking is outside the reserve about 300m from the restaurant.

I don’t know why this place is rated so high. The only perk is it’s view. The food is home food style but they serve it in very small portions to make it fancy. The restaurant food selection is very basic, you don’t even get to choose side dishes. We also had to ask from the waiters the same request several times to remind them to help us.

Perfect in every way! The food was absolutely delicious, the service was friendly and attentive, and our waiter’s positive energy made the night even better. Sitting at a waterfront table with a beautiful view and the soothing sound of the water made the experience unforgettable. Highly recommended!

Aside from the lack of respect the chef had for flavor and presentation. The restaurants only survival remains on the shoulders of hungry tourist with the ability to spend large sums of shekels on average food and that this restaurant has an amazing view. I'm so tired of spending good money on the lack of service and passion for the culinary world in Israel. This restaurant has made it my mission to present Israels hidden gems and save others from making poor culinary decisions.

Had a nice dinner here with my parents. Server was great and food delicious. Three of us got the special fish of the night (fried fish on top of bones) and one of us got levrak. Delicious.

Fast service, great location. The waitress forgot to bring fuccacia, beer and glasses for the lemonade and didn't know what sides are coming with the main dishes (said it's baked potato and it was mashed potato and pumpkin). The food is not great. Good for a quick bite before a show but not a place to come back to.

Top location in Israel, the restaurant is one of my favorite places when I’d like to relax and enjoy a great lunch. Sea food is fresh, they always catch a good fish and recommend to order it , along with great Israeli tapas and wonderful service- they are always the best!

Food was remarkable! Combined with the incredible view, the experience was one of the best in our trip. We order the seafood pasta, grilled eggplant, hommus and the focaccia bread (don't skip it!).

The waitresses were only busy with their hairstyles and during service their hair went into our plate. With the main course you need to choose between potatoes or salad, can't have both. Need to order salate separately. There was no salmon nor the wine I requested (on menu) and the waitress didn't know how to open the wine bottle.

The place is nice, right on the seashore and surrounded by Caesarea's antiques. That's apparently what increases the price of the food, which in my opinion doesn't justify the prices. The food was simple, unpretentious, and nothing special. The waiters gave us good service, and the atmosphere was pleasant. As for the cleanliness of the place, I think it could be improved, although it's not dirty.

Had a great experience overall. Waiters were really kind. Good food with fair prices for the great atmosphere and view. The host made an effort to find us a good spot at the restaurant even though we didn't make a reservation.

The Port Cafe in Caesarea Israel is situated on the Mediterranean sea. We were seated under an umbrella table with the fabulous fresh air and delightful temperatures. The wait staff were very nice and helpful with drinks and the menu. We ordered the lamb pita dish as shown in the photos. The meal is so delicious, I highly recommend the dish. The menu listed a lot of wonderful dishes and from what we saw from other tables, the presentation is five star. We could have spent the day at the Port Cafe Caesarea Israel 👍👍👍👍👍

It was a beautiful day on the Mediterranean but a little too windy to sit outside. Our guide, Patrick Cohn, recommended Port Cafe as he had just eaten there a few weeks ago and knew they had lots of vegetarian options for our small group of mainly vegetarians. I had the polenta tortellini which was delicious! Others ordered the papardelle pasta with mushroom sauce, arancini, and the Israeli salad. Beautiful views of the Mediterranean and perfectly located next to the Roman city of Caesarea.

We had lunch at this place, it's directly by the sea, the view is super wonderful, I recommend taking a seat by the window and watch the sunset of your at dinner hours. Service is okay, the food was good, we had Calamari heads with eggplant which was delicious, a Greek salad which was fine, and Ravioli with tomatoes

First restaurant on my trip, very impressed with the food here, usually places like this would fail to give food that tastes this great. Located right next to the seaside in Caesarea harbour, the atmosphere is cozy and isolated from the cold wind outside. Maybe I come from a place where every restaurant serves horrible food, but I definitely recommend this place. 5 stars for home style food that satisfies tourist palate.

I just got back from this restaurant and was quite disappointed with my experience. I paid 319 shekels for a dish that I did not enjoy at all. In fact, I hardly touched the food and returned a full plate to the waitress, who informed me that there was nothing she could do about it. On top of that, I was required to pay an additional 10% service charge, despite the service being rather average.

A fancy restaurant in the golf club of Caesarea. The food was great as well as the service. The dishes looked good and tasted good. The service was great, no problems there. There is a special hall for reserved areas which opens on Saturdays if needed. Plenty of parking and close to main road 2.

It was our first but for sure not the last visit. Food was incredible. Our favorites were fish kebab and drum fish with jerusalem artichoke. A dream... A place too noisy to my taste, and the wine too expensive. But in general, excelent place, beyond our expectations

Excellent! Loved it!! My wife's birthday. A friend of ours ordered the table and we were told to come and enjoy. So we did as we were ordered, and we did enjoy! The dishes are all with complicated titles and plenty of ingredients. We started with good white wine, as per our waitress' recommendation. It was extremely good. Petit Castel. For starters we had the liver brolle (Liver parfait, pears in wine, spices crumble and toasted bread), the Red Tuna cubes (Fresh tuna cubes, asian chili peanuts sauce, eggplant cream and crispy sushi rice), the Salmon tartar (Salmon tartar, green tea ice cream, tom Sam sauce, sliced almonds and chili) and the fish kabab (Fish kebab, coriander and red onion, lemony yoghurt and tangy shifka vinaigrette). Every dish - beautiful and tasty! Presentation is a very strong part of the three young chefs work. As main courses we ordered the Eggyolk Pasta (Fresh pasta with black pepper, smoked lamb pancetta, spinach, mushrooms, garlic, fresh yolk and parmesan cheese), Drum fish fillet with goat cheese ravioli (Drum fish fillet in lemon butter sauce, tomatoes, ravioli of goat cheese and hyssop) and the Sea food Bowl with fresh pasta (Sea food casserole, corn and fresh ginger, lemon grass with coconut cream, coriander, chilly spice and pappardelle pasta) (guess who that one was for...) Again, presentation was beautiful and the taste as beautiful as the dishes were. Service is friendly and helpful. On Mondays there's a Greek evening with live Greek music at a very high volume. The outside is nice in cool evenings, but since it is the smoking area, I liked it less. When we ordered the bill I was surprised. It was far less expensive than what I expected it to be (in a fancy place such as this). We took very few pictures of the dishes. I will certainly come back here (though it's over an hour drive from home). They earned it. Big time.

Food was good. A bit overpriced and tastes were not good. The atmosphere was nice and service was great. The beer was spoiled and sour we returned it. We also returned a main course dish of fish with Knafe. The cheese did not go well with the fish. The salmon was over cooked . We did enjoy the pretzel and the papaya salad.

Very nice restaurant, neat, classy and the interior is very fine. I liked the black colors , and definitely the huge tree inside the restaurant. The food was also delicious, we had the sea food platter and fillet steak , both were fantastic. Very recommended.

A great restaurant with delicious food, the place have a lookout on the golf fields . Only 2 things that disturbed me are that you can hardly hear the people that around your table (because its really noisy when the restaurant is crowded) and the line to the restroom :(. Except this i very recommend this restaurant.

The food arrived quickly, but one fish order was served 45 minutes after the other entrees! The food was yery good once it arrived, but the way we were treated by the manager when we complained about the service was rude and disrespectful. We have eaten here 4 times before, but will never return and will post the way we were treated on all our local shul and WhatsApp groups.

We ate in the Sukkah during Chol Ha Moed Sukkot- it was busy and chaotic as we expected. The food came out when ready, which was fast/too fast but we knew what we were in for so it was OK- My wife and I ordered a salad (which was huge) Dennis fish which was well prepared but unremarkable, and a pizza which was surprisingly quite delicious. Solid kosher dairy menu, with lotsa kids everywhere- nice scene my son ordered gluten free pasta which came out half cold.

This restaurant inside the port has a very tasty food, a lot of variety including good gluten-free options, the service is quick and they have the patience to answer all the questions you may have. If you are in the area of the port of cesarea and looking for a nice kosher restaurant, then I recommend checking it out

Location is amazing, especially at night. Food id good + . Service was nice but not so professional. Kosher. Some dishes for vegans but not too many. Prices are reasonable. My pizza was good but I didn't like that it was covered by the sauce only partially.

We closed on a seating for 3 people at 20:00 on a Monday night, and they rudely told us they’ll seat us only when something opens up(this was 45 minutes after waiting). Horrible behavior for a sub par “restaurant”. Waste your time here at your own peril.

I ordered risotto balls with mushroom sauce. It was amazing but It will be better with one more ball. I went with a friend that took ravioli batata with tomato sauce and it was really really tasty. Then we took the chocolate bomb and it was one of the best desserts that I tried. I will definitely come back .

Tourist scam alert ⚠️ This place uses two menus, Hebrew and English, with different prices. Tourists pay more. Example: hot chocolate with pralines – 🇮🇱 Hebrew: 25₪ 🇬🇧 English: 28₪ Shady and dishonest. Avoid.

Large dishes, high quality, great atmosphere. Definitely good value for money in the Caesarea address, and it's not kosher which is a great plus. Take a look at the photos. The fish and the mussels were amazing. The steak didn't excite me, but it was good. Envoy!

I had an amazing dinner at Hellena in Cesarea old port. A true high end eating experience, end of table view to the sea that is hard to match. Everything was delicious, but the tuna steak and the purple squid starter stood out.

The best spot in caesaria. The view is unbeatable, service divine. Sabrina was lovely. The prices, however, are outrageous. We paid 368 shekels (before tip) for one main course, 2 glasses of wine, one first course and bread.

Excellent salad appetizers, with subtle, intriguing flavors; very good pork main; and a delicious dessert. The focaccia bread is outstanding. Noise level is moderate to energetic from the guests Friendly staff. We sat outside on the terrace in the early evening, and lost a few napkins to the breeze!

High price but great food. Mug you are willing to pay a high price for a good quality dinner in a place with amazing view and atmosphere, this is the place. The menu is pretty big. Recommend to order an entire and a main dish, cruise the entries are pretty small but good. The service is very good, and the view is amazing. We order a white wine that I deeply recommend. Great place for a special occasion or a nice evening in the amazing Caesarea.

The venue is very nice and big, you can see the best sunset from here. The food options can be improved but this is not the main reason to spend some time at this bar. The staff is very good and professional. We have been a few times already when visiting Israel and we always had great memories from here. I recommend it for few drinks in a magical place.

Very vibrant place at Ceaserea. Nice place to have drinks and snacks while watching the sunset in the evening. There’s also live music. Service is not the best but ok for Israel.

Great place literally on the beach! I went with 3 friends and we enjoyed the live DJ and the great cocktails! The food was ok also! I suggest to go at sunset time, the view is amazing!

Very disappointed, too many things to say! We received a bad service from a waitress, my husband asked for a straw for my son and she just threw a straw on the table! The salad we ordered was not fresh! We ordered orange juice, and there was a bottle of market juice! In short, I won't be back but there, the menu has changed a lot, with practically no options.

Mostly a pizza place with a few other options. The cauliflower with pesto appetizer was great! Unfortunately, the restaurant isn't staffed well so only one waiter was working. This made the service quite slow and hard to get. We wanted to order another drink during our meal but we're unable to because only at the end of our meal did the waiter check on us.

We were here on Saturday night, on the way to find a place to eat, the place was occupied to half the place. There are places inside and outside. The hostess took care of us quickly and found us a place to our satisfaction, the waiting time for the dish was about 20 minutes, we ordered a double pizza with mozzarella cheese. The dish was very salty and their suggestion was to put fresh tomato slices on the pizza in order to break the saltiness a bit, the service and waitresses were very kind. Clean and tidy place and free parking is available at the weekend.

Maybe I had bad luck in this only time I've been to this place, but the pizza was mediocre at best. Dry and burned on the bottom, having barely any cheese, while it took over an hour to arrive. Also, prices are higher than average for what you get, with Pizza already being quite expensive in Israel.

Nice place with good service. Serves a lot of other food besides pizza, but is mostly a pizza place. The pizzas are really good although very pricey. The menu contains kids dishes.

Big size of portion. We like it there even it has not much to do with Italian food. Its more about idea what u get than what is real Italian kitchen anyway we enjoyed it, I would recommend it. 🙂

A food court level Asian fast food but the dishes were priced as you would expect at a good restaurant. It was very disappointing. we were a table of six, and we all thought the same.

High quality Japanese restaurant. All the food is fresh and delicious! It's a bit pricey, but worth it.

Good authentic sushi place. High quality and pretty high prices. The place is very small, for couples or small groups only. Beers from Japan, rare to find in Israel. Friendly staff and chefs from Japan. This is a good place to eat Japanese food in hertzeliya.

Best location for a traditional Japanese cuisine! High quality sushi, very freshy food, service was amazing. Warm sake (rice wine) from Okinawa was very unique. Also the green tea ice cream for dessert. Keep in mind - this is their kosher location (the non-kosher one located in Caesarea) so they serve fish, but no shellfish or shrimp or grilled pork (didn't bother me as a veg and my wife as the Salmon was absolutely amazing). Don't miss!

Wow what an incredible place! Edamame on the house as soon as we walked in, and the food was incredible. Best broth I've ever had at a restaurant, and everything was absolutely delicious. My only criticism is the price and the small quantities of food.

The time to get the dishes was a bit too much, although asking to serve whatever is ready may have made it quicker. Consistently high quality food, especially the seafood combined with a high level of service. It is generally pricey - like all fish and seafood restaurants in Israel - but getting the business lunch menu which is served until 5 PM makes it more reasonable.

tldr; an overpriced restaurant that isn't worth visiting An overall uninspiring dinner experience that does not justify the steep price tag. The ingredients seemed fresh, but still the fish and seafood dishes were overall forgettable and bland. Perhaps the only upside was the amount - everything served with abundance, so you won't likely stay hungry. This is especially true for the refillable salads served as soon as you take a sit (keeping with local tradition). Service was kind though unprofessional and lacked consistency and attention: one dish was regretfully forgotten, though they were quick to prepare it once realized the mishap. In another instance a house specialty cocktail was served despite lacking the ingredients to prepare it. It was only after we mentioned something to the kind waitress that we found out.. perhaps next time let the customer know before serving, since this left a poor aftertaste

If you're passing by and need food this is a good place but if you got time to drive anywhere else do that cause this place is mainly for local workers. If you're one of them - this place is great for you, and offers a really big launch. Not overly priced.

This is our "home restaurant", the one you go to for a good fish dinner, and a very nice array of small salads for starters, which is free if a main dish is ordered. Sometimes a bit noisy with families and birthdays, sometimes a bit slow on service, but looking on the bright side, it's a very good place.

Industrial zone restaurant with business menus for lunch from 45 NIS. For 59 NIS you get a first course and drink with a main dish salad and side. Hamburger was big and tasty. Draft beer selection was limited to Carlsberg and Tuborg

The restaurant offers a wide selection of starters and main dishes, so each one of our party of 5 could have his/her choice. We got the starters right away, but the main dishes took rather long to arrive. But, the food made up for the wait, it was appetizing and very good. Bottom line - we enjoyed the meal.

Had a very nice dinner. All the food we ordered - we were 4 people - was tasty, served nicely and promptly, and was as described on the menu and by the waitstaff. Waitress was very pleasant and very much wanted to please. Manager was extremely nice. Would definitely return.

The meat food and desserts were very good. The vegan burger was passable for a vegetarian that wanted to be part the outing, but it fell apart as I was eating it. The restaurant should be aware that pea protein options such as Beyond Meat exist. As with many restaurants, there was no soap for washing hands. Kind of scary in 2022. All of that said, we would return.

I ordered ahead and arrived for the pick-up. It took 50 minutes from the moment I placed the order till I got the food. The place was packed with people and the kitchen and staff were clearly overwhelmed. Nevertheless, the guy at the front apologized and added two complimentary drinks of my choice, and the food was delicious!

Two and a half weeks in Israel. The night before the flight home we arrived late after a game, 23:30 and they were closed but served us anyway...I have to say best customer service I experienced in Israel yet! Great food great service :)

Nice place only for tourists who are not familiar with real Israeli traditional food. The food is not fresh, without any taste to it, small portions and long waiting for service, though they are very nice.... Very disappointing!!! I won't return there ever.

Super casual with great food and service.

This a fast food place, absolutely not the best I have been to in Israel. Dirty tables, shaurma in pita with something like meat with not even a smell of meat, cold vegetables, fruit juice mixed with too much water! Big portion of fried potatoes and friendly owner gained two stars for this feedback.

We went to caesarea for a bit of sightseeing. We decided to stop for lunch and because it had fries and falafel everybody was happy. We had a falafel each and a portion of fries for every for everybody. The cook was really really nice and let us taste the sauce before putting it on the falafel. The falafel was the best I ever had! The sauce, the falafel itself and everything together was just perfect. The fries were really good as well. If your looking for the best falafel in the world (and I've tried quite a few) go to this place. It's reasonably priced as well. Falafel was 20 NIS (~5€) and fries (a whole tray, enough for 4 people as a side) was 25 NIS (~6€). There is a juice place run by the cook next to the restaurant with fresh orange and pomgrenade juice. Both very tasty. Definitely recommend this place! Awesome food and awesome cook.

The food is excellent -- the ingredients are fresh, and both the falafel and shwarma tasted great. The little juice bar out front also makes the juice right in front of you and is also well worth it. The owners are very friendly, helpful, and willing to answer any questions. Excellent place! Make sure you stop by during a visit to Caesarea.

After visiting the Cäsäräa historical Park we were locking for a Falafel place. Directly at Cäsaräa Maritime we found Hanamalia. My family of 6 found this was our best Falafel in Israel, believe me we had loats of Falafel... also very friendly, good price.

Best shawarma in Israel!! We live in Jerusalem and we love the shawarma at this place more than anywhere else!

Crowded and super loud. Food is just not good. Shakshuka tasted like canned tomato paste. Salad had an awful aftertaste. Feels like eating in economy class on a low cost airline.

We went to caffe Bagolf for brunch. The food was well prepared and tasty. Not exceptionally “wow” quality but a solid 4 stars. I had the full Israeli breakfast with 10 or so little sides and a mushroom and spinach omelette which lacked sufficient seasonings and was slightly too well done, but was tasty enough. The golf course vistas added to the experience, as did the excellent service-

Service was slow, probably took about 20 minutes after we were seated to get the waitress to come to us. But we weren't in a rush. My son loved the French fries and the chocolate crunch cake. The bagel toast was great. The cheesecake was below average according to my dad, I thought it was okay.

The negative: We ordered breakfast for one and a coffee/croissant combo. We did ask for an additional plate when ordering. The breakfast arrived, and there was no extra plate, so we asked for an extra plate. After asking g 3 different servers, we finally received an extra plate. One of the servers came to tell us they do not have croissants and if I wanted something g else instead. I went to see the baked goods, and I was told that if I wanted a piece of cake with the coffee, then it was 30% more expensive. I asked for a large latte and was told the order was changed. Went back to the table, waited for the coffee for 20 minutes, then went back to the counter to look for the waiter that took my order. Saw him seating outside behind the counter. I asked for him, and when they went to call him, he responded he was on a break and did not care to come see what the issue was. I then asked for my coffee again and was told it will be served. Took another 10 minutes. The spreads that came with the breakfast as st were tasteless and bland. The avocado spread was from a packaged dif, bisfusting and bad appearance. The egg salad was watery and tasteless. The others were not ang better. Overall we only ate the labbaneh spread and left the others. No jam served. Super expansive shawarma spot. 43 NIS for Laffa or a baguette is insane, but the place is still superrrrr packed with people non stop. the veal shawarma was dry, and the turkey shawarma was super oily... So I took a mix of both and it balanced each other. They also have bunch of free salads that you can take, but again everything was too oily. In general it was an ok food.
