The Sea of Galilee, also known as the Kinneret, holds great significance as a Christian pilgrimage site where Jesus is believed to have performed miracles. Travelers can explore the surrounding areas such as the plain of Armageddon and the ancient Biblical city of Megiddo. The stunning pastoral vista from the southernmost point offers a breathtaking view of the sea with the Golan Heights in the backdrop.
What an amazing experience to stand on the same shore as Jesus and the Disciples. It is a beautiful place and there are some well preserved sites. If you get to visit, take a boat tour, eat the St. Peter fish (Mango Tilapia) for sale all over and visit the historical sites.

One of the most unique places you'll visit in Israel. There are many beautiful along the lake and campsites.

Sea of Galilee aka Lake Tiberias. Is the famous lake where JESUS walked on it and also calmed the storm. It’s also the lowest fresh water lake on earth. Peaceful lake indeed and breeze was so cool.
Olufunmilayo A — Google review
An amazing place to see with my own eyes. I read all about this place and Jesus' ministry here. I also enjoyed sailing on the Sea of Galilee. Luckily, it was a calm and beautiful day.
Steve S — Google review
The Sea of Galilee is one of my favorite spots in Israel. This is a spot where you really feel the presence of Jesus.
Kyle C — Google review
This is one of my best experiences in Israel, you will be enthuse and captivated if you ever visit this area, especially if you’re of the Christian faith. Take a tour one day and go experience a little of history.

"Cruise on the Sea of Galilee"‎ Went on a sruise on Sea Of Galilee. At the jetty came across a novel feature. It is a floating bridge jetty. To board the boats safely and comfortably, Its height can either be lowered or raises depending the level of the sea of Galilee Boarded Cruise boat Noah. As soon as we left the jetty. Indian national flag was brought to be hoisted on the Boat mast. I was given the honour to hoist. The whole group, spontaneously started singing National Anthem. Everyone felt elated and happy. I thought a very nice business idea to set the mood of tourists well disposed towards the cruise company. Returned after about an hour's cruise. During the cruise there was loud music from Indian movies people were dancing and enjoying noisily and thoroughly. Hardly anyone looked out at the scenery nor enjoyed the calm and serene atmosphere on the waters of sea of Galilee, Felt sad at missed opportunity.

We're a group of pilgrims from the Philippines🇵🇭. We're happy to have experienced sailing on a wooden boat across the Sea of Galilee. A good and unforgettable experience for all of us. The skipper even taught us some dance steps while sailing. After the boat ride, all of us were given a certificate that we had survived the trip. It's one for the books. It's a good thing the weather cooperated with us, so sailing was a breeze.

Hamat Tiberias National Park is a protected area in Israel known for its mineral-rich hot springs, ancient bathing sites, and a synagogue with well-preserved mosaics. The park also features a sloping pedestrian area adorned with contemporary sculptures made of mosaic tiles and stone carvings. Visitors can relax in three thermal pools of varying temperatures while enjoying views of Kinneret. Additionally, the park offers picnic tables, foot massage paths, and a small museum showcasing the historical baths.
There are 3 attractions in this place. Firstly, the beautiful view of the Kineret Lake. Secondly, the warm water springs, all natural. You may dip in the little pools made for visitors. Thirdly, visit the ancient synagogue with its amazing mosaic. Almost 2000 years old. Wonderful place to visit. A must see when visiting Israel. The lake is mentioned numerous times in the bible.
Alex D — Google review
I have mixed feelings about this place. It’s not terrible, but it does feel run-down. In some countries, the sanitary conditions would likely lead to it being shut down. That said, it’s clearly a popular spot among locals, and many people seem to enjoy it. Admission and food prices are fair, and while the menu is very simple, the food itself is decent.
Avi K — Google review
A small cozy place to warm the bones. Pay the cost of a simple coffee and can sit from opening to closing in a small park with picnic tables and 3 pools with temperatures of 30, 35 and 40 degrees Celsius. My wife and I came here for just an hour to warm up and see another attraction during our vacation, but even so, we liked it. Here you can sit and relax without picnics and other activities... just ... relax.
Alexandr O — Google review
Small good park. Don’t skip film in synagogue - it’s very interesting. And healthy road for feet - you should definitely try it.
Dariia H — Google review
Not stunning but still worth your time. I had the chance to visit this site at the same time as a group so I could see the movie displayed inside. It was really interesting and made the place much more worth the time. I'd recommend you ask the attendant at the entrance to show the movie even if you're alone as it happened in other National parks, even when I was there completely alone. It seems this attendant was busy with something else than giving service to the visitors.
Dan M — Google review
A good place to relax for the whole family. There are three thermal pools with different temperatures - 30, 35 and 40 degrees. You sit in the pool and admire the view of Kinneret. After the water procedures, you can take a shower, there are changing rooms. There are picnic tables. You can also take a blanket from home and lay it on the grass. I liked the pebble path for foot massage. Also, see what baths used to be in the small museum. Very interesting location! Try not to forget to take anything with you in advance (swimsuits, towels, slippers), because you can't buy these on the territory of the park.
Maryna G — Google review
Very beautiful mosaic floor. But it is only one room. Only ₪14.00 entry fee. Site currently under construction there are much noise. Will be wonderful once completed I think. Very close to the sea of Galilee where you may dip your toes in the water.
Adele S — Google review
Open pools of natural hot springs. Only some of them are shaded. No place to change cloths (except a dingy toilet). but the place is very pastoral and beautiful with a great view of the Kineret Lake. I also recommend entering the restored Beit Kneset, known for its beautiful mosaic work.

The Tomb Site of the Rambam, also known as Maimonides, is located in Tiberias on the shore of Lake Tiberius. The tomb is believed to be 800 to 900 years old and is a significant site for those interested in Jewish philosophy and history. It serves as a place for prayer and worship, attracting visitors who seek serenity and spiritual connection.
The absolute must to visit in Tiberias. There is drinking water, toilets, huge gender separated very nicely decorated prayer space.
Gergana D — Google review
Nice memorial for the tomb site of Maimonides. The main downside was nearly everything was in Hebrew. Therefore I had a difficult time understanding much.
DJ H — Google review
Amazing place to pray! Easy parking on the small street above the site, enter through the gate on the right just before the next street and you're right at the Rambam. The Shelah is there as well, along with Rabbi Yochanan ben Zakai and his students.
RTA — Google review
Tucked away in the city of Tiberius on the shore of lake Tiberius (the Sea of Galelli, or the Kineret) one can find the possible 800 to 900 year old tomb of Maimonides, the great Jewish sage from Spain and Egypt, and father to many mindsets of later western philosophies. As an aethiest, I was still drawn to the aesthetics of the new building, the serenity of the location, and the brilliance that once was Moses Ben Maimon. Just a pity that gender segregation was very obvious.
Michael R — Google review
The holy tomb of the Rambam is a sacred place for prayer and worship. May all your prayers be answered!

After reading about and admiring this great Rabbi's life I was blessed to pay my respects. I pray that his descendants will be blessed by the very hand of God.

Mount of Beatitudes, a storied hill in the area around the Kinneret, is a significant religious site for Christians. It is believed to be where Jesus delivered the Sermon on the Mount and is just one of many religious sites in the region. The nearby Sea of Galilee offers opportunities for swimming, water sports, cycling along its 55 km circuit, or leisurely boat trips.
Beautiful views with a beautiful church. We were 50 members on a Holy Land tour and conducted Mass in one of the outdoor available places to do so. Definitely a must-do on a Holy Land tour!
Eileen W — Google review
This is an absolutely amazing place. Any Christian pilgrim will find this unforgettable. Contemplating the beatitudes as they are presented on the walk up to the church is very contemplative. The view is amazing and so peaceful. To think of the words of Jesus and how they can be relevant in our lives is a wonderful experience that can shape our faith deeply.
Bryan S — Google review
Great place! So glad that I could come here on my dads 50th birthday for him to see where his favourite Sermon took place! The place is very nice and the gardens have been decorated beautifully in accordance to the words spoken around 2000 years ago! The only downfall is getting there, there isnt much signage and we ended up first going behind the church where the rubbish is kept.
Zane H — Google review
I spent two hours in this beautiful garden and church. What a fantastic view on the lake. How peaceful and lovely decorated. Hopefully I will come back soon. I loved the atmosphere there although there were so many people all around. (February 2020)
Sari — Google review
One of my favourite church in this area. Small and built with Mable stone. If you’re lucky, you may hear some people singing in the church.
Jo W — Google review
There are a few Catholic churches built right on top of these locations that are beautiful and the people inside are very reverent. Walking trails around the church and buildings give multiple places where you could reflect, pray and study. The base of this location has a small snack bar with coffees, ice cream and other foods. The restrooms are paid restrooms - bring $1 if you need to use the facilities.
Neil G — Google review
Must peaceful place in the world! I felt the best emotions in my soul, seeing where Jesuscrist and his disciples were and did.
Grecia L — Google review
Really enjoyed the Mount of Beatitudes area. The area is very peaceful and beautiful. It’s a great place to also enjoy the Sea of Galilee, even best when read the Beatitudes. Recommend you stroll around the back of the church in order to enjoy the view of the sea.

Tiberias Hot Springs, located two kilometers south of the town, have been a renowned spa center since ancient Roman times. The hot pools fed by natural springs offer a perfect way to unwind after traveling. Visitors can enjoy indoor baths during winter and outdoor mineral baths with pool jets for relaxation in better weather. Additionally, there is a semi-Olympic freshwater pool open every summer. Settled by the Sea of Galilee, the area offers beautiful views and four pools with varying temperatures.
There are 3 pools for adults: the biggest one is indoor with warm mineral water around 96-97 F degrees; other 2 are outdoor - one is with hot mineral water - 100-102 F ( I could stay there just for 5 min 🤷🏻‍♀️)and another one - just regular. You can find a sauna there and few showers around the pools. The place definitely needs renovation., but on other hand it is not as crowded as other.
Tatiana S — Google review
I got a really great massage and enjoyed the hot springs. I would have liked it if there was more information about the hot springs themselves hung on the walls. The place is a bit drab but it didn't bother me. The hot springs are not that hot. They are called "mineral pools". The water feels really nice it I wish there had been more jets. The regular water pool also felt great. I went in the dry sauna and found it to be too hot. I had a nice and relaxing time.
Yehoshua Y — Google review
Settled by the shore of the Sea of Galilee, it's a unique place to visit. The lake is a beautiful sight from the garden of the hot bath, which has plenty of chairs and sunbeds to relax. There are 4 pools. The one inside is around 36.5 degree Celsius warm. The outdoor hot pool is about 38 degrees and there is a chiller swimming pool (around 22 degrees) plus a baby pool (I don't know how warm). At the time of my visit, on a Sunday very few people were in the establishment and it was a good experience. You can also find a steam room and a sauna indoors, cabins and lockers in the changing area, also there are free water drinking fountains and a buffet to get a light lunch. There are showers and toilets. A well equipped place, but one may say it is overdue for some refurbishment. I think it has its charm. My only concern was that I have seen rubbish in the swimming pool and dirt in some cases on the floor.
Kat A — Google review
Just like the others, only smaller. ... The entrance price would be quite normal in other similar places, but the problem is that it is smaller then other places. There are only a couple of pools and two Jacuzzis. That's all. There is a good gym here, but it's on its own, just sharing a common building. And you can find a small café in the lobby with some normal snacks. Otherwise, it has the same problem as all other similar places: Old and dilapidated, I had a feeling that it has not been updated since the day of construction(as many other Israel hot springs too).
Alexandr O — Google review
Great place. 3 different pools. (The third one at the top of walkway, is really hot. For the troopers :)) Scenery from there, especially if you walk up the hill/pathway, is just Beautiful. Overlooking the sea of galilee (the kinneret) Just at the exit, down the Hill, from Rebbe Meir Baal HaNess grave site. It's only 14 shekles to enter per adult. Ticket is good for the whole day (8am - 9pm. Think it was 8am, could be 9 or 7, I forget, but remember it is until 9pm as of july 2022) And you can leave and come back thruout the day, as long as you keep your ticket. Great place to visit. For the whole family. Just bring your own food and drinks, as I dont remeber there being a kiosk there to buy snacks or drinks. (Just not 100%, could be, i just dont remeber seeing one)
Airan P — Google review
If I could give less than one star, I would. STAY AWAY! DO NOT GO HERE! Very outdated and gross. The “massage” from here was more like a molestation than a massage. All three friends who went with me also complained of the inappropriateness of the massage they received. Again, DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE!
Whitney D — Google review
Not far from city center by bus. Stop is just nearby. Very convenient. Check google maps itinerary by bus. One indoor hot swimming pool. Two outdoor hot swimming pool and one big swimming pool 28 degrees. Staff not very welcoming. No hello no thank you. We had a feeling that we were disturbing. Cloakroom and men toilets very dirty. Surroundings of the sea very dirty people use too much plastic there and it Falls in the sea. A lot of plastic waste near the sunbathing area. Just organising once a month a cleaning session of the surroundings is not a big deal. 👎👎👎 There s a sauna and hammam and they re ok 👌 There s a bar. Staff not welcoming. No WiFi. Fitness room with welcoming staff (lady came to us smiling and joking). 👍 Don’t forget flip flops. Outdoor hot pool is very cool and very hot 😉 At the end of our stay not even a thank you and no goodbye. Unacceptable. Entrance 89 shekels. Extra for massages but not even wanted to pay extras because of the not welcoming and thankful staff. Tip if you have a car : go to Amat gader spa

Yardenit is a significant Christian pilgrimage site located on the banks of the River Jordan, believed to be the place where Jesus was baptized. The serene lakefront garden is home to peacocks and offers a tranquil setting for visitors. Even for non-baptismal tourists, it's a beautiful destination with picturesque scenery and a peaceful ambiance. Visitors can relax, enjoy the natural surroundings, and observe wildlife such as fish and ducks in the river.
Even if you don’t intend to get baptised, this place is a beautiful destination for a tourist. The scenery is beautiful and the ambience is just great. You can sit there and relax, enjoy the weather and birds chirping away, or even watch some fishes or ducks swimming across the Jordan river. You need to pay for toilet/shower facilities though. There’s even a relatively large souvenir shop if you want to buy some presents back. Parking is just right outside, making it easily accessible to visit
Nahshon — Google review
They are open 9a-3p every day currently and we went on Saturday and it was open. Wonderful to see the place of the baptism of Christ! They have an amazing restaurant with great burgers overlooking the river. Very classy and upscale place.
Christine S — Google review
The blanket they call a robe is just a sheet cut into pieces and costs $25. And they yell that you can't swim without it. Even though there's a beach a meter away. Go on in and swim wherever you want. And tourists that they bring by busses pays it. 25 per 48 person's, 1200 per bus. Just to enter to free Yardenit river. Interesting. I wonder if Christ would approve?
Andrey B — Google review
A peaceful and well-kept place by the Jordan River, where, according to tradition, Jesus was baptized. If you’re a believer, this spot holds deep meaning and spiritual value. If you visit it from a cultural or historical point of view, it’s still a very interesting and meaningful site to explore. You can take a quiet walk along the river and enjoy the calm atmosphere.
Igor F — Google review
One of my favorite stops on the Jordan River! It is free to enter, although they do charge for bathrooms, but the river itself is in a gorgeous location surrounded by trees, and it feels much more like it would have hundreds and thousands of years ago. It is a baptism site, so expect to see lots of people in and out of the water getting baptized.
Nathan B — Google review
Nice area at the Jordan River. The nature here is really beautiful and seems to be part of a jungle in South America (and not in Israel). There is the is the possibility to have a bath/baptism in the river which is frequently used. There are showers as well which might be useful in cold days. The entrance is foe free and the is a large merchandise shop.
Lukas F — Google review
A Canadian Tourist Review: This is where tour buses take groups who want to get baptized in the Jordan River like Jesus did. I wish they took us to a spot that wasn't as heavy on souvenirs. You must walk through a big souvenir shop just to get through the entrance to the Jordan River. I have been to thousands of attractions and never seen a souvenir shop at the entrance as mandatory to go through. On the other side, lineups of hundreds of people getting baptized, horses and colts near the water, and thousands of fish is interesting to see. Note the area for walking along the river is about 100 meters. You're not going to be here for more than half an hour unless partaking in a baptism.
Logan S — Google review
It was one of the world travel life experiences I recommend to dip your feet in the River Jordan and watch some emotional Baptisms of people from all around the world on a sentimental day of their life. The gift shop has many items that capture the essence of this special place.

Nestled along the serene shores of the Sea of Galilee, the Church of the Primacy of Saint Peter is a significant site steeped in history and spirituality. Believed to be where Jesus performed the miracle of multiplying loaves and fishes, this charming church stands just a short walk from its counterpart, the Church of the Multiplication.
Beautiful area right on the Sea of Galilee, with trees and places to sit down and enjoy nature, though it can be crowded with big groups. The church isn't very big but an important place in Christian history. We went in a group of 50 on a Holy Land tour in November 2022.
Eileen W — Google review
There are a lot of reviews on the site, so I will not describe the historicity and religiosity here. I want to write as a non-religious person: My wife and I decided to visit this Church on our own, not as a group with a tour. It's quiet and nice place. It was comfortable just to be here. To visit this Church you need to avoid a certain interval of hours when the gates are closed so be sure to do this.
Alexandr O — Google review
Beautiful, quiet and most of all, interesting. Unlike the nearby Churches of Tabgha, the entrance is free. Only one problem, but significant, there are no parking available around and you'll have to find a space somewhere. Unless you'll park at the nearby Churches of Tabgha, but then the entrance is not cheap at all.
Dan M — Google review
This is where Jesus first called his disciples. This is also the place where he returned after resurrection to meet his disciples. These are the steps from the harbour, the boats came in here. Jesus asked, “do you have any fish?” Every number has a meaning when translated, they caught 153 fishes and the net didn’t break, 153 translates to “I AM”(John 21) Very interesting parallel of how Adam and Eve covered themselves and how Peter had to cover himself too because of the shame of denying him much earlier. What is holding you back from loving the Lord completely?
Jacob I — Google review
Such a peaceful place to be at. It has one of the most stunning views of the Sea of Galilee and definitely has a rich culture and history surrounding it. The church also has this beautiful simplicity emanating from its four corners. A must visit for every Pilgrim.
Jeric D — Google review
The Church of the Primacy of Saint Peter is a Franciscan church located in Tabgha, Israel, on the northwest shore of the Sea of Galilee. It commemorates, and allegedly marks the spot, of Jesus' reinstatement of Peter as chief among the Apostles. A good view of the lake with round good looking stones.
Allen I — Google review
Very interesting sight with tons of history! Definitely a must see, enjoy your visit! 10 Nis per person in cash
Maria D — Google review
In a shady park close to the lake side lies the Franciscan church of the primacy of St Peter. Women can be refused entrance if they don’t cover there shoulders and their knees. The flat rock (Christ’s table) in front of the altar is believed to be the place where Jesus and his decipels had breakfast with fish. The side itself I give three stars but the fact that the Franciscaner friars were talking with religious visitors touched me and therefore I rated it four stars.

Tomb of Rabbi Meir is a complex dedicated to the 2nd-century Jewish sage, Rabbi Meir. It also features a memorial for Rabbi Moshe Ben Maimon, known as the Rambam. The site offers beautiful views of the Kinneret and has Judaica stores where visitors can purchase various religious items. While there are no food stalls on-site, many people bring their own food and enjoy picnics in the back parking lot seating area.
A large area and lots of places to pray at this holy side. It's recommended to arrive on a weekday and as early as possible to avoid crowdedness. It's free year-round. Note that on the hillula it's very packed. Clean toilets ,places to fill up cold water and hot water. An organized car parking area and just a few minutes from the kineret sea. On one side there is a few shops you can buy goods from. The sunset is stunning with the palm tree and sea view. The building itself is built beautifully with a grand mosaic on one of its sides if you walk up to the roof.
Miki H — Google review
A different side of Israel but still must be seen and visited. I had just visited the Hamat Tiberias National Park and since this Tomb is just a few minutes walk from there, I decided to go and visit it as well. I had already been there in 1970 so it was kind of a must for me. It is of course a lot like the Tomb of Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai at Meron which I had visited the day before, just smaller. And like there, combined with this special atmosphere of mysticism, there were too many shops and sellers of everything and anything (which weren't there in 1970). It definitely spoiled the atmosphere. Pity.

Holy site. People come here from all over the world. Say a special prayer and take upon oneself a good deed for the blessing to come down. There is a Shul on site. Tables to have lunch. And a small cafe. Many gift shops. Great views of the Kineret lake.

St. Peter's Church in Tiberias is a peaceful and historically rich spot, dating back to the 12th century as a Crusader church. Administered by Koinonia Giovanni Battista, it features a tranquil courtyard shaded by grapevines. Visitors appreciate the beautiful art and sculptures on display, as well as the dungeon believed to be where Jesus was held the night of his arrest.
Wonderful and welcoming community. Wish I knew ahead of time of Casa Nova house. Sisters very gracious. Really enjoyed the Mass. Peace be with you 🙏🏻

So full of history and biblical reflection. An extremely beautiful and well maintained church. I loved the art and sculptures on display. There is a dungeon that is said to be the place where they kept Jesus the night he was arrested at the Garden.

We traveled to our Holy Land, The State of Israel on a journey of faith, visiting many important historical sites. Located near our hotel, St. Peter’s Church provided the site for our next mass. We knocked at the door but it took a long time to get an answer. Finally, a young woman opened and thanked me for ringing the bell several times because she was far and only the repeated sound made her realize we had arrived. The view at the end of the path to the Church provides a magnificent view of the Sea of Galilee and here is where we set up a system to make sure no one would be missed by the group. “Protect your right” was the name. We stood in a circle and from there on forward, the person to our right became the person we needed to keep track of. This Church holds particular importance to Christians. There came to him the Pharisees & Sadducees tempting: & they asked him to show them a sign from heaven. But he answered & said to them: When it is evening, you say, it will be fair weather, for the sky is red, and in the morning: today there will be a storm, for the sky is red & lowering. You know then how to discern the face of the sky: & can you not know the signs of the times? A wicked & adulterous generation seeks after a sign: & a sign shall not be given it, but the sign of Jonas the prophet. And he left them, and went away. And when his disciples had come over the water, they had forgotten to take bread. Who said to them: Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees. But they thought within themselves, saying: Because we have taken no bread and Jesus knowing it, said: Why do you think within yourselves, O you of little faith, for that you have no bread? Do you not yet understand, neither do you remember the five loaves among five thousand men, and how many baskets you took up? Nor the seven loaves, among four thousand men, and how many baskets you took up? Why do you not understand that it was not concerning bread I said to you: Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees? Then they understood that he said not that they should beware of the leaven of bread, but of the doctrine of the Pharisees and Sadducees. And Jesus came into the quarters of Caesarea Phillipi: and he asked his disciples, saying: who do men say that the son of man is?

Such a special place. There is a lot to see here. I love the beautiful chapel that has a direct view of the Sea of Galilee. The ruins are stunning, and the views of the sea are so beautiful! We would spend lots of time dipping our feet in the water and taking in the beautiful sunsets and sunrises.

Amazing place, considering the five stars but need to wait until construction is complete to get a full picture of the place. So much information to take place and such an important place, especially in this day and age, to truly recognise and commemorate the amazing woman of The Bible! The lady who seems to run the church was so relaxed, we had a fantastic chat with her and she is full of information and made the experience truely amazing! We learnt so much about the woman of The Bible and how many go unnoticed and somewhat unappreciated. The church was amazing, full with so much artwork mainly by woman, but also an amazing portrait by a male about the miracle that took place when the old woman touched Jesus' feet.

Located on a pier extending into the Sea of Galilee, Decks Restaurant is a popular family-run eatery known for its stunning views both indoors and outdoors. The restaurant offers a casual and airy ambiance with wooden tables and metal chairs.
We came as a tour group and were so very very very pleased by the food, the atmosphere, and the hospitality; everything absolutely amazing! Appetizers to main course to desserts all were done with excellence in preparation and presentation. The chef and manager were so gracious and hospitable. I love this place. My favorite restaurant in the north of Israel. Food is excellent. I love Chinese food and while Israel has plenty of Asian restaurants, this is closer to what you’d expect from an American Chinese restaurant. Portions are large and tasty. I recommend if you come with a group that you order 2 mains per 3 people. The view of the Sea of Galilee is fantastic and really adds to the ambience. I would make reservations before I came.

My wife and I arrived on a Saturday night without a reservation. We expected to wait for a table to open up, but we were seated promptly upon arrival, and our table had a nice view of the water. The menu is a little on the pricier side, but the portion sizes are quite generous and the food is absolutely worth the cost. I ordered the duck and my wife ordered the chicken, and we enjoyed both dishes immensely. The food arrived within ten minutes of ordering. Our waitress was pleasant and helpful, she checked on us a few times throughout the evening without being pushy. Overall an enjoyable experience and we will definitely be returning. Also, US ambassador Mike Huckabee was sitting two tables over from us, and the restaurant played "God Bless the USA" on repeat for a good five minutes after he left. Huge bonus in my book.
Akiva S — Google review
Heard about Decks for years so I wanted to try. They brought main course before starters. The wanton soup was inedible , tasted like sweet tea. The main courses don’t include ANY sides. So a 98 shekel hamburger or 229 steak doesnt come with anything. The hamburger and steak were good. I asked before I ordered if the lemon chicken was sweet, they said no. It was. Then they said it has honey in it. In short: overrated, expensive, disappointing.
Iris F — Google review
I will begin and say i called in advance to ask about the prices and menu . Was told they are large portions. Needless to say i left hungry with a huge hole in my pocket! Ordered a prime rib steak which comes with absolutuely no side dishes and costs about 100$s! so you are basically forced to buy additional side dishes. The view of the kineret is beautiful and service was ok. All in all i would not come back.
Mi P — Google review
A number of years ago, the food at Decks was excellent and to scream for, years later, it was a disappointment. The gimmick where they serve you food on a stove while it is still cooking was now a disappointment as the meat we ordered was undercooked and the fire in the stove was non-existence. They have to take away the meat to be cooked again. I hope they up their game again

Aqua Kef is a unique coastal water park located on the Sea of Galilee in Israel. It opened in 2016 and offers an inflatable obstacle course with trampolines, slides, and swings. The park has a dedicated area for small children and is open to kids aged six and up. Divided into three sections, it provides entertainment for various age groups. Visitors can enjoy climbing obstacles, falling into the fresh water, and climbing back out for endless fun.
Aqua-Kef is basically a bunch of floats and slides floating on the water in the Sea of Galilee (Lake Kinneret) just south of Tiberias. I thought that it might be low-key for adults, but we loved it a lot! It's different than a normal water activity because it's in the lake, so it's really fresh water. Climbing obstacles and falling off into the water, climbing back out and up again is so much fun. Great location on the kinneret. Awesome activity for kids and adults alike. Kids minimum age to participate is 6 yrs old. The water is deep, life perseveres are provided with payment. The length of time in the water was about an hour and half. Great workout. The staff and service were great and the owner was on sight making sure everything was running smoothly. One of the best activities to do in Israel. Highly recommended.

Super fun. This place is nuts, but great for the kids. You must book a time slot online in advance, very easy process. The snack bar is overwhelmed with people, you have 6 tens trying to serve 200 people at once. It’s chaos but they all stayed cool and did their best to serve everyone:) we booked the 90 minute time slot, 45 minutes is too little. Make sure you show up 20 minutes early to park and change before your time starts!

Kursi National Park is a historical site with the remains of a Byzantine monastery and church, including a rare mosaic. It holds religious significance as it is believed to be the traditional site of Jesus' restoration of a demon-possessed man and the miracle of the swine. The park is located in HaYarden Park Nature Reserve (Jordan River Park) and is thought to be the ancient fishing village of Bethsaida.
Korsi National Park preserves impressive remains of a monastery and a church from the Byzantine period. According to Christian tradition this is where the miracle of the pigs mentioned in the New Testament took place. Fascinating remains of monastery, church and chapel opposite biblical Sea of Galilee. This is the traditional site of Jesus' miraculous restoration of a demon-possessed man. The miracle of the swine. Demons are sent into the pigs (approx 2000 of them). Kursi was in the region of the Decapolis, which was made up of 10 Roman cities. It was a region outside of Jewish authority and inhabited by Jews and Gentiles. It was an immoral area that represented all that sinful humanity had to offer. It was considered unclean to the Jews. I do recomend for the family to come including the disabled. The historical place goes to the time of when Jesus roommed Israel.

My first time there as this National Park was recently opened. It is not amazing as other archeological sites but still it is very interesting as the findings are well preserved. Majrase Nature Reserve is a wetland reserve in Israel that offers both wet and dry hiking trails, making it an ideal destination for outdoor activities during the summer. The short trail takes hikers through a beautiful canopy of trees and a bubbling stream, providing a refreshing experience as visitors walk through the water. The reserve is well-equipped with facilities such as parking, toilets, and a small shop for souvenirs and refreshments.
Wading through the stream is so much fun especially in the hot summer. Some sections could get pretty deep for small children. Floaty is needed if they can’t swim. There are lockers to put phones, keys, and wallets. You will get very wet so go in swimming suits and sandals.
Peggy G — Google review
Nice in summer because of the walk in the water. However not the best nor the most impressive in the region. Children will certainly enjoy it as it is not long nor tiring. Like all the Nature Reserves in Israel, it had all the facilities to make it easy to visit: parking, toilets, a small shop to buy souvenirs but also drinks, ice creams and other goodies. It is also well explained and leads you the different paths letting you choose what is better for you
Dan M — Google review
This trail is pretty far off the beaten track and usually only gets attention from people hiking the Israel trail. But it offers a fantastic climb down (not for the feint of heart dogs and small children) and lovely open views at the end

This is awonderful place for summer outdoor activities! My family have great time, especially our girls they're have so much fun to walk, swim, and play with water, seeing nature 🐦🐟🦋🐝🌼🌻🌱 🌊💦 also have nice areas for BBQ... about the water trail: we like the first and the middle part have running water very clear/clean & cool, not so deep, many interesting trees, plants, fish 🐠🐟 alongside; the last/end part of the trail is deeper and the water not so clear/clean. High recommend 👍❤️ You should book/buy the tickets online before you come and also prepare sandals (against the water), beach shoes, and swimming suit will more comfortable and enjoyable to walk and play water!

Great water hike. Water goes up past waist towards the end of the trail. There is a path along side the stream.
Zisi G — Google review
Located in the northeastern corner of the Sea of Galilee, the spring-fed streams and jungle-like wetlands of this reserve are ideal for a refreshing "water hike". The wet circuit (there's also a 20-minute dry one) takes 40 to 60 minutes; be prepared for water that's up to neck height right after rains (60cm deep in summer). The lagoons near the lake are off-limits to allow fish and water turtles to breed.
Sharon N — Google review
Lovely place w wheel chair accessibility. You can take the river route which at no point is deeper than a regular man's height. The route is about an hour and there is place that you can go swimming in Can be a very peaceful and tranquil place depending how non crowded it is.

Don't go in autumn. We have gone twice in September and both times they would not let us get in the water because of pollution. We were told to come in April, May or June.

Bora Bora is a stunning beach with clear waters and palm trees, offering spacious lounge areas, straw umbrellas for sunbathing, waterfront swings, a local restaurant and beach bar. Visitors can enjoy water sports and occasional beach parties. The area also holds spiritual significance with the presence of historical sites such as the lake of Tiberias and tombs of revered figures like Rabbi Meir Baal Ha-ness and Maimonides.
Very organized place with a lovely vibe. You can definitely spend a full day here, they have great drinks and food as well. Try it out and you won't regret it!

Nice and quiet beach bar/restaurant. You need to pay 65NIS for each person for staying there. There is not enough parking space, but you’ll find it at the end. I suggest to order a place here for get good seating places.

My new best place at the Kineret. Across from kibbutz Ein Gev on the other side of the lake . Hawaii vibe. Great atmosphere, great beach, great parking and great cocktails. What a great way to start the new year!!! Highly recommend it!!!

The place is beautiful. Food is nice. It's very crowded (specially during holidays and vacations). You can pre-order a table on their website (it will costs more). At time of visit entrance fee is 60 ILS (or 75 ILS for pre-order, minimum 4 persons table). A long line is expected at opening time (if you pre-ordered you don't have to wait, you scan a barcode and enter). Would give it 5 stars if it was less crowded and less expensive.
Roie L — Google review
Great view. Water is clean. 65 nis for entrance on weekday, small parking lot. Rocks, no sand. Dog poop on “beach”. Bring water shoes with grip. Management should spend some cash, move the rocks and put down sand. This place could be a gem.

The place is great well maintained but the water are very dirty and full on plastic . When we first arrived we were asked to show up at 9:00AM In order to get in at 10AM . Theres a nice organized seating area to those who payed ahead of time but for those who just showed up got a small space crowded with plastic chair and a small table. The food was avarage store bought food . And the swimming area was small and restricted but there was a life guard who paid attention so thats a plus.

Nice place, very relaxed and laid-back during the day. It costs 40 shekels a person for entry. There's a bar and a decent restaurant, good music, and the seating is comfortable. Worth the price, especially compared to what you might find at Israeli beaches in the area.

Absolutely, the best of this'Bora-Bora beach", was the lake of Tiberias, also named Kineret Sea,well known from the story of Jesus who walked on his waters, and multiplicated the st-peters fish which is also originnally living in the lake. After the destruction of the second Holy Temple of Jerusalem, the Sanhedrin Sages and their leader Yohanan Ben Zakai escaped to Tiberias .Another places of spiritual interest are the tombs of Rabbi Meir Baal Ha-ness,and Maimonide tomb's(ha Ramban &ha Ramban). Some twenty years ago this place was free entrance, but today you will be allowed to enjoy the" bora bora beach",with a lot of very noisy music, for only 50 new shequalim .There is no discount prices. added fees for food and drinks. Showers and accomodities:yes!

Luna gal for its price was good. Not too many things to do but if you are just going to the pool then its very good. The restaurant inside is very expensive and also when we were there some people cut their feet somehow inside the water. Hopefully they fixed it for you!

It was fun and pretty clean, but several rides were broken and had been for a long time. Staff was nice. Pool was really great. No real shallow end, though.

Luna Gal is an old and not renovated water park. Half of the rides are broken and not active the working ones are half broken and dirty. Lots of creepy guys smoking everywhere. It is a miracle how the place is not shutdown due to health and safety issues. Defenetly the last time we are going to this place

Have been a few times, and the place gets worse every time. Disgustingly filthy place. Not maintained, not cleaned regularly. Food is uncooked, expensive and repulsive. Everything in the entire park seems either broken, or covered in dirt and human hair.

Great place, holy man. The only thing that isn't holy is the people visiting it. My experience was greatly ruined by two chassidim, one who decided to walk around next to the tomb on a phone call, then eventually walked out while still on the phone. Another one decided loudly narrating everything he sees to a woman on the other side of the mechitzah, then he decided to take her over to the men's side, loudly talking in Yiddish. Eventually he got quiet and prayed. This is a holy place, for prayer, not for phone calls or chitchat. I wish that the ones presenting as frum would understand it.

The menu features gourmet French Mediterranean cuisine, creating an exclusive European atmosphere reminiscent of the French Riviera on the shores of the Sea of Galilee.
Best restaurant in all of Tiberias. The only place you need to visit. The peppercorn steak is a must order. All starters are fantastic. Amazing wine selection as well.

The owner was very kind and attentive, ensuring that everyone had a wonderful experience.
Super welcoming staff at this beautiful spot 😍 We couldn't sit inside with our dogs, but they let us tie them outside and brought them water. The food was superb!!! We tried the burger and it was absolutely delicious, just like the salad and crunchy fries. Everything was so fresh and tasty, the owner was a sweetheart, he checked on everybody, making sure we are all having a great experience. They have a tiny farmer's market inside the restaurant with local products like meat, eggs, juices, chocolate, vegetables, fruit. Oh and of course, the view is breathtaking. We didn't drink alcohol, but their bar seemed very professional, so if you're up for it, do some wine tasting too. I can only recommend this place!

We all enjoyed the dishes we had. The steaks were done right, the burger was good and the slow cooked beef dish was very tasty. The starters were excellent although the Mango salad had hardly any mango in it (it is still mango season and the market is full of mangos that have unfortunately not been exported to Europe...). The service was excellent.

I think this place is a bit overrated. While the meat was good, the service is great and the view is amazing, the first dishes, the pasta my wife orderd and the deserts were average. The meat is indeed great and priced relatively not that expensive. Bottom line. Not sure I will come back.

The food was delicious. I'm not a big "Kebab" fan, but here it was just great. Also the bread was delicious. What's lacking is the service. One waiter was nice, but the second one just gave this feeling of doing us a favor. Basic things like forgetting the water, not asking how's the food, not cleaning after clearing up, and generally just being upset about being a waiter... Edit Please note that the friendly waiter went out of his way to take care of us and deliver a perfect experience...

Great meat restaurant in a very special place. The location is very special, at the very end of Ramot moshav. You have a crazy view towards the Kinneret (Sea of Galilee). As far as dishes go we took the Carpachio, Asado burger and porterhouse steak. All were very good. Lots of people take the plate with kebabs and chicken. The Churches of Tabgha, located on the shores of the Sea of Galilee, are a significant biblical site and a must-visit for Christian pilgrims in Israel. In addition to the well-known St. Peter's Church, there are other churches like the Church of Scotland and the Greek Orthodox Church and Monastery of the Twelve Apostles in Tiberias.
I recently visited The Church of the Multiplication and was blown away by the beauty and serenity of the place. The church is located in a stunning setting on the shores of the Sea of Galilee, and the architecture is simply breathtaking. As soon as I stepped inside, I was struck by the sense of peace and calm that permeated the space. The interior of the church is decorated with intricate mosaics and frescoes, and the atmosphere is one of quiet contemplation. Overall, I highly recommend a visit to the Church of the Multiplication. It is a place of true beauty and spiritual depth, and I believe that anyone who visits will leave feeling uplifted and inspired.

It is a small church which takes only a few minutes to see, though with a rich history - this more modern church is built on the ruins of other churches going back to the 300s AD! The mosaics are from 480 AD! Definitely worth a quick visit if you are in the area on a Holy Land tour.

Nice little church with a beautiful courtyard inside. Parking is unreasonably expensive, but there is a lane outside where you can park your car along the road. Another problem with this place is that the local gift shop does not accept credit cards. Cash only. Otherwise, my wife and I enjoyed this small courtyard with a beautiful tree and a small pond with plump fish. A bit of interesting history, but in general it makes sense to come here either if you were specifically looking for it, or as one of the points of interest of a long excursion.

Jesus performed the miracle of multiplication of two fishes and five loaves to feed 5000 people, at this site near the sea of Galilee. Beautiful Byzantine mosaics have been well preserved and maintained. The place is serene and peaceful. There are display boards at strategic places explaining in brief the history of this place. A must visit site. Parking space is available at a little distance away from the church. There's a souvenir shop too.

If you go in the evening, in February, when it isn't a high tourist season, you will be able to enjoy this holy place in quiet. In the church itself, the decoration is modest and the mosaics found during the excavations in 1932 stand out. These mosaics are unparalleled in the Holy Land. They depict lotuses that do not grow in the surroundings of Tabha. Under the altar itself is the main sanctuary of the temple, the stone on which Jesus Christ was placed to break the five loaves and the two fish.

The Galilee Boat, a remarkable archaeological find from 1986, offers visitors a glimpse into the past of Jesus' time. Discovered by a fisherman during a period of low water levels in the Sea of Galilee, this ancient wooden fishing vessel measures 8.2 meters and is crafted from twelve different types of wood, showcasing its historical significance.
This museum is dedicated to a 2000+ year old boat that was discovered and excavated from the Sea of Galilee There is a wonderful video presentation that tells the story of its discovery and subsequent salvage.

Definitely recommend to watch the few minutes video before proceeding to walk around to look at the ancient boat. It is fascinating how they found the boat and moved it and able to preserved it for generations later to see. The major make up of the boat being cedar wood. It really makes you understand the story of the disciples bing on the boat and with the limitations of the rudder and sail, how they were to move forward if strong winds opposed the direction they were going. Good place to stop by 👍🙌

This is a nice little museum which is the home of a boat that was recently discovered in the Sea of Galilee dating to the time of Jesus. The museum tells the story of the boat's discovery and the remarkable journey to preserve the boat. We also took a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee from the dock just behind the museum. There is a gift shop as well. Very interesting if you enjoy archeology!

To think about all the people throughout time that have been on this water. Including Jesus during his ministry. We we're fortunate to be on a boat with about 20 young men that were about to become priests after 6 to 8 years of studies/school. The speech that was given to them applied to us as well. Berenice Winery & Suites is a local boutique winery situated near the Sea of Galilee in Tiberias, benefiting from the region's Mediterranean climate to produce delightful wines. The suites are spacious and well-equipped, featuring tasteful decor and charming ambiance. Despite its unassuming exterior, the interior impresses with ample amenities for a comfortable stay. Guests can enjoy wine tasting sessions and delicious dinners at this beautiful property.
Full disclosure: I did not stay at the hotel but rather enjoyed an evening of wine tasting and dinner with a group. We had a tour of the guesthouse and the rooms look amazing. Based on my experience with dinner and wine tasting, I can only assume that the service is outstanding also in the guesthouse. The wine is delicious! Finally a nice place to stay in Tiberias.

What an amazing and special place!!! I was looking for a winery near our hotel in Taberias, and discovered a boutique and one of a time experience.. crazy wine, delicious food, amazing hosts. We were a family of 12, including kids and everything exceeded all of our expectations. The place also offers beautiful apartments to stay at, I definitely plan to book in the near future. An absolute gem for lovers of wine, food and tailored experiences.

What a fabulous tasting! Gidi was an excellent host and explained all the wines. Also the wines were delicious. (We bought a few bottles to take with us when we left.) There was bread and cheese and olives to snack on between wines as well. Overall, a highly recommended experience.

Estee and Gidi are making some really fantastic wine (truly, the best Israeli wine I have had), and are very welcoming. I would highly recommend visiting if you are in Tiberias. Their accommodations are also very pleasant and conveniently located in Tiberias.

Berenice Winery is amazing!! Me and my friends had a great time here, it was definitely a highlight of our stay in Tiberius. The property is beautiful, the wine is great, and the value is amazing for a private wine tasting for a cheap price. Would 100% recommend to anyone in the Galilee area.
Preston S — Google review
Stayed here in June 2019. The room was very spacious and well equipped with everything I could possibly need. There were things for cooking if I was so inclined, proper wine glasses (!), even books in English for me to read! The rooms were tastefully decorated and charming. From the outside, the place doesn't look as impressive - but don't be fooled as it's great inside. You could easily base yourself here for a week or more. Tiberias is a good base for local sightseeing, I'm not sure why it gets a bad rap on some forums. Estee was incredibly helpful.

Korazim National Park, located in the Galilee region, is a well-preserved ancient city dating back to the Second Temple era. This 25-acre park is home to ruins of an ancient Byzantine town and was known for its wheat during Talmudic times. The park features a synagogue and religious bath places, offering visitors a glimpse into its historical significance.
Very nice staff, placed in all the strategic places to tell as much as you willing to listen! The place itself is not big, but has some very unique architecture for old Jewish settlement! Me, my sisters and dog enjoyed our stay!
Lev K — Google review
Beautiful, clean park. Disabled-friendly for a significant part of it. Very quiet early in the day even though this is mid-August. They lose a point from me only because many of the signs are in Hebrew only so foreigners may prefer to go with a guide. Saw lots of Hyrax (rock rabbits) here closer than I've got anywhere else.
Joanna L — Google review
Interesting to see, but if you do 't have a tour guide - hard to understand what's going on. A lot of original decorated building blocks are displayed. Largest and most beautiful gat (place to press grapes) is there.
Max I — Google review
Exciting to see the synagogue and the religious bath places. Beautiful place, but well don't expect too much from that place it wasn't meant to be something big and luxurious. A very 'must see' place. When Jesus said that this place would be desolate, He meant it. Black stone, hot and barren. There is a water spring and there were some bees buzzing around. it is an important pilgrimage as well specially for christians who are looking for the remnants of the past
Alex D — Google review
Nice looking place with just a few people that makes it even better. You can see the synagogue and the old Town ruins, lizards, damans or "rock rabbits", cows and lovely sceneries. Not too big, 1 hour visit is enough to see everything.

Small quaint national park that is rarely busy. Much more preserved than Capernaum and you can take your time and explore at your leisure as it is not busy. There is a pretty much intact synagogue at the back of the park which is helpful to explore

Galita Chocolate Farm is a delightful destination for chocolate enthusiasts and families with kids. The experience begins with an engaging short film that delves into the history of the farm and chocolate production. Visitors then proceed to a chocolate workshop where they can craft their own delectable treats, followed by a fun game in the garden while the chocolates cool. The workshop is particularly enjoyable for children, who relish creating and devouring their chocolate creations.
My daughters (9,12) had a great time at the chocolate workshop and made a beautiful and delicious chocolate car and house. The service was quick and helpful when I had trouble with last minute booking. Please make sure to book in advance online- It was hard to find a workshop one day in advance. There are discounts through membership clubs.

We spent a warm afternoon at the Chocolate farm. We were the last group and it seemed the instructors were a bit impatient and not very welcoming. The workshop is nice and fun for the kids and there is also a short activity for the kids outdoor while the chocolate is cooling in the fridge.

We were sleeping at Dgania so it was very close and obviously we had to go to an activity with chocolate 😁 It starts with a short film, then a chocolate workshop ( you can select what to build) and a short game you do with your kids at their garden while the chocolate is cooling off so you can take it back home The kids had a lot of fun creating the chocolate buildings ( and eating from the toppings). It was great!

A really cool place for the chocolate lovers. The journey begins with a nice video that covers the history of the place and the chocolate that arrives here. Nice place for kids, not very invested (especially not the entrance film). Looks relatively pretty clean and the staff is very nice. The ice-coffee is very tasty, the game for the children is funny and passes the time until their chocolate works are ready from the fridge. Separate Beach Tiberias offers a unique experience where men and women have designated areas to adhere to local religious customs. The beach is ideal for conservative individuals or travelers seeking a comfortable environment without the presence of the opposite sex. It is not overly crowded, with separate entrances and swimming areas for men and women. The freshwater sea provides a calm swimming experience compared to the Mediterranean, making it suitable for families with young children.
Very nice beach not too full of people and different entrances and swimming for men and women. The sea is quite calm compared to the Mediterranean so much easier to swim in. Overall a beach I'd definitely go to again!

Additionally, there are playgrounds for kids and ample shaded areas throughout the beach.

The beach is amazing. We had the privilege of visiting mid-Week. The facilities had been cleaned, and the beach itself was spotless, with a lifeguard on duty for the marked section of water.

Recently renovated. Showers and taps with potable water, are constantly cleaned. Plenty space for parking and camping. Can either bring your own tents, or rent air-conditioned igloo. Beach is quiet with grass and trees. New playground for kids. Just that the small kiosk only sells snacks and drinks.
Moshe W — Google review
Stayed there last weekend. The facilities were terrible, shared bathroom and showers were not clean at all and smelled. Maintenance of the tents and facilities is very poor. Worst of all, the kids playground was *filled* with fire ants which stung our kids more than once. Will not go back there and do not recommend.

Great access to the Kineret lake. About the camping over there: There is an area to out up camping tents, and they have their own tents service which is not so cheap but it's really great. Their tents include A/C unit (it's a real game changer if you come in the summer), mattresses, BBQ stand, and you can get charcoal from their store. There is common shower and toilet zone, And there refrigerators spread around for everybody's use. Better come with your own toilet paper. They don't have the BBQ itself! Only the stand for it so you better get your own. Reason its not 5 stars is that the shower & toilet are not very clean most of the time.

The park features a range of hiking trails suitable for all fitness levels, from leisurely strolls to challenging treks. The circular route takes about 2 hours and includes steep sections with handgrips, making it both thrilling and demanding. Hiking boots are recommended, especially if you choose to visit an old fortress via a detour with steep steps.

The Arbel in the early morning is a truly special place. The breathtaking view of the sun rising above the Sea of Galilee, accompanied by the majestic drops of the cliffs, creates an awe-inspiring experience. The stunning views extend both near and far, making it a truly unforgettable destination.
Tomer M — Google review
Beautiful area and easy hike section with the option for a more difficult hike down the mountain. Views are stunning.
Jeremy H — Google review
This is fantastic little hike. The circular route takes about 2h. Be aware that the begining and end of the hike uses handgrips, as it's very steep. So while it's not a very long hike, it can be challenging. Hiking boots recommended. In the middle there is a detour up steep steps to visit an old fortress, for those interested in an even harder challenge. There is very little shade, so come early during the summer. The view is breathtaking and makes this one of the most amazing hikes in Israel. For groups with a bus, you can choose, instead of the circular route, to head down the mountain in the middle, thus not having to climb back up with the grips. There is also a shorter hike/walk option that takes you up to the edge of the cliff to see the view.
Avi J — Google review
Had a great time with the view at the top, and then hiked down the west side. Anticipate an extra 45 minute or more if you do that instead of going directly back to the bus

Tel Hazor National Park is a significant archaeological site in Israel, featuring the remains of an ancient city with structures like a gate, palace, and water system. The park boasts an impressive Bronze Age palace, an Israelite high place with cultic monolith dating back to the time of the Judges, and fortifications built by kings Solomon and Ahab. Visitors can also explore a massive water system from the reign of Ahab.
The granddaddy of Israeli excavations still revealing history changing finds, and nicely presented to the public. Make sure you see the biblical period mulit-chamber gate, the large building with evidence of burning there- controversial when from, what its nature is, and who burned it, but you have a right as a visitor to say this is the Hazor burnt by Joshua (Chapter 11, easy to remember), the "head of all these kingdoms". And make the effort to find and to descend All the way down into the secret biblical period underground water system. Be amazed at the ancient engineering!
Barnea S — Google review
Not amazing as many of the other National Parks in Israel, such as Metsada, Avdat, Beith Shean and many others. First, it is much much smaller. But then it still is very interesting as it is rather different for its historical significance as well as the architecture, the colors of the stones and the structure of the remaining. When you're on your way to the Northern Nature Reserves or National Parks (don't forget to reserve your entry tickets) after the heavy January rains , or the other National Parks, like Nimrod Fortress (much bigger and impressive) or Gamla, you can stop there for half an hour and learn a little more about Israel History. And if you have the Matmon Card which gives you a free entry, then all the better, isn't it? I was there again this October, I was there at sunset, as a closure in a day full of sites and natural reserves and it was the perfect ending. Bottom line, if you pass by this park on your way to Metulla or the Golan, just stop.
Dan M — Google review
Tel Hazor National Park is an impressive and historically rich site that offers a deep dive into ancient Canaanite and Israelite civilizations. Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Hazor was once the largest fortified city in the region and played a major role in the history of the ancient Near East. The park is well-maintained, with clear paths and informative signage in multiple languages that make the archaeological remains come alive. Highlights include the impressive city gate, water system, and palace ruins. The view from the top of the tel provides a beautiful panorama of the Hula Valley and the surrounding landscape. For history buffs, Hazor is a must-visit. It’s fascinating to walk through a city mentioned in ancient texts like the Bible and to see remnants of daily life from thousands of years ago. Even for casual visitors, the scale and atmosphere of the site are striking. Be sure to bring water, a hat, and good walking shoes, especially in warmer months. There’s minimal shade, so an early morning or late afternoon visit is ideal. Rating: 4.5/5 – A powerful and thought-provoking journey into ancient history with great educational value.
Louie F — Google review
Amazing archeological site displaying thousands of years of Canaanite and Israelite history: palaces, walls, storehouses and cistern have all been excavated and partially reconstructed. The staff at the entrance were pleasant and helpful, and most of the site is very accessible. There are walking paths leading from area to area and plenty of shaded benches for anyone who needs a break along the way. The only challenging section was the descent into the cistern, which is a lot of stairs, but definitely worth seeing for anyone willing to put in the legwork. We spent about two hours walking around and seeing everything, and at the end there is a nice picnic area with more tables and benches (all in the shade). Overall a well-maintained park displaying some very important ancient history of the Levant; definitely worth visiting if you like history and light hiking.
Akiva S — Google review
One of the most impressive sites of Ancient Israel. In a quick visit (an hour or so should generally suffice; if you have more time then take more time to take it in) you can see the remains of an impressive Bronze age (Cannaanite) palace, Israelite high place with cultic monolith (matzeva) dating from the time of the Shoftim (Judges), impressive Israelite city gate and fortifications built by kings Solomon and Ahab, and a massive water system also built during the reign of Ahab. With great views of the Naftali mountains nearby.
Daniel K — Google review
Nice place for archeology buffs. A lot of ruined houses, on a hill, and the highlight for me was the water reservoir, which is a very deep well to which you climb down using many stairs, until you reach a small cave where rainwater was collected. There is a nice activity that each visitor can participate: mud collects over the water reservoir, so the workers of the place fill buckets of this mud to remove it. Each visitor can take a bucket with him when going back up from the reservoir, helping the mud clearing effort. I really liked this game, I felt it was a great opportunity to teach my son about helping and volunteering. Overall it is very similar to tel megiddo. But tel megiddo is more interesting, which is why I gave tel hazor only a 4. It lacks a bit of development for tourists, a short video explaining about the place would be nice. Also I guess the water reservoir of tel megiddo is more impressive, withe more stairs and longer tunnels. All in all great experience for me and my 3 year old son.

(Translated by Google) A wonderful place where you are always welcome and welcome! On the territory of the courtyard there is a cave of the prophet Elijah, a radon spring, an eye spring and a spring of Mary Magdalene. Swim only in shirts, there is somewhere to change. A very calm and peaceful place! (Original) Чудесное место где вам всегда рады и всегда примут! На территории подворья расположены пещера пророка Ильи, радоновый источник, глазной источник и источник Марии Магдалины. Купаться только в рубашках, есть где переодеться. (Translated by Google) A woman was once born and raised in Magdala, whose name will forever go down in gospel history. The Gospel does not tell us anything about Mary’s youth, but Tradition tells us that Mary of Magdala was young, beautiful and led a sinful life. The Gospel says that the Lord cast out seven demons from Mary. From the moment of her healing, Maria began a new life. She became a faithful disciple of the Savior. The Gospel tells that Mary Magdalene followed the Lord when He and the apostles passed through the cities and villages of Judea and Galilee preaching the Kingdom of God. Together with pious women - Joanna, the wife of Chuza (Herod's steward), Susanna and others, she served Him from their estates (Luke 8:1-3) and, undoubtedly, shared evangelistic works with the apostles, especially among women. Smile at yourself when he is in his place, when he is killed. their. The Gospel tells that Mary Magdalene was also on Calvary at the time of the Lord’s crucifixion. When all the Savior’s disciples fled, she fearlessly remained at the Cross along with the Mother of God and the Apostle John.

The Church of the Beatitudes, a 19th-century monastery, offers breathtaking ocean views and serene grounds. It is believed to be the site where Jesus delivered his famous "sermon on the mount." The church overlooks the Sea of Galilee and is surrounded by well-maintained gardens and banana trees. Visitors can also explore nearby sites such as the Wedding Church in Cana, Magdala, and Bethlehem.
A beautiful place, brings peace and tranquility to your soul. From an architectural point of view, the church is unique because it has windows on all sides, through which there is a panoramic view of the Sea of Galilee. The gardens around the church are simple but very beautiful. Don't miss this place.

The way they include the beatitudes thoughtfully along the walk to the church provides a wonderful meditation. It is a beautiful place to inspire one to live by God’s wisdom. The view is breathtaking.

This is my favorite place that I have visited in Israel. The entire Sea of Galilee region actually. I listened to the sermon on the mount (Matthew ch 5-7) while walking this mountain site. It is so surreal to listen to that sermon while walking around where Jesus preached the same message. Amazingly beautiful area, I can see why God chose this area to roam while physically on this earth. Amazing

This church was built on the site where it is thought that Jesus preached His "sermon on the mount" which is recorded in the gospels. A beautiful place, brings peace and tranquility to your soul. From an architectural point of view, the church is unique because it has windows on all sides, through which there is a panoramic view of the Sea of Galilee. The church itself is stunning, with gorgeous stained glass windows and intricate stone work. The atmosphere inside is peaceful and welcoming, and the service was uplifting and meaningful. Powerful churches occupied by their grit and sacrifices. Am privileged to visit this holy shrine.

This church was built on the site where it is thought that Jesus preached His "sermon on the mount" which is recorded in the gospels. The church sits overlooking the Sea of Galilee with gentle slopes around it down to the sea. Some of the slopes are now covered with banana trees, a crop only recently introduced to this area. The church is a small and simple but beautiful building which sits surrounded by a well kept garden. The acoustics of the small chaplet were incredible. A well deserved stop on your trip!

One of the most beautiful and serene places I have ever visited. The nuns run a tight ship so any conversation that are too Loud is controlled. It's such an amazing experience to walk around, revel in the scriptures and daily words and see people from around the world. The gardens itself are well taken care off.

This is the place Jesus preached on the mountain. Well maintained and clean. Serene and peaceful meditative atmosphere inside. One of the must visit Holy sites in Israel. To avoid crowd please visit this place in the morning. A kind of mystical feeling as you enter in here. Washrooms are available to use for a fee.

Beautiful monastery with an even more beautiful garden which is inhabited by little parrots. As one can image, the place is quite crowed with tourists. But it is okay until around 10am. The view in the sea of Galilee is amazing as well as long as the weather is good!
