Gruyère Traditions in Switzerland is a must-visit for those who love Swiss cuisine. This restaurant offers a variety of traditional dishes, including gruyere, cheese fondue, and laing. The cozy atmosphere and affordable drinks make it a great place to relax after visiting the HR Giger Museum. Located in the heart of Gruyères, this restaurant provides an authentic Swiss dining experience with picturesque views of the town.
I had the pleasure of enjoying both dinner and breakfast here, and it was an absolute delight! The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making the experience feel warm and personal. The menu focuses on local specialties, so there’s a lot of cheese (as expected in Gruyères), but the quality is exceptional—every dish is rich in flavor and thoughtfully prepared. The portions are generous, and the prices are reasonable, especially considering the quality and the beautiful setting. The local wine was a lovely complement to the meal, and the views from the restaurant added an extra layer of magic to the experience. Breakfast was equally impressive, with a mix of salty and sweet options that were more than enough to satisfy. Everything felt fresh and perfectly balanced to start the day. Highly recommended!

Dinner here was absolutely wonderful! The team was fantastic and the Macaroni and Cheese was some of the best you will ever have. I don’t know why everyone hasn’t given them all 5* reviews. The fondue was also outstanding!
Nicholas F — Google review
Food was decent to good, service an absolute disaster. One arogant waiter for a large amount of tables, coming out to the street tables every 25 min at best. Many people left after being unattended to for large amounts of time. You need many hours and patience to serve something. Credit card machine broken.
Codrin B — Google review
Amazing view in the Backyard. The røste was under cooked. The fondu size was smallest we have ever been served. Tho it testes really good. The beer was varm
Oeyvind A — Google review
The structure is nice, the view is beautiful, BUT: outside a cheaper menu than inside, tap water is 5.- per liter, you have to pay 3.- for additional hot water for the tea. The price of the dishes is too high and this way of doing, maybe targets the one shot tourists, is not fair at all. The nice attractive things it can offer are hidden and deleted by those details.
Netswiss M — Google review
1h40 between ordering and serving. Missing starter, 2 times. We are very disapointed about the restaurant. No organization. Someone runing over the restaurant, without doing anything. Well Philippe Etchebest should come and clean here....

Overall great experience. We were a party of five and were promptly seated. We didn’t realize that there was garlic in the fondue cheese and my wife has an allergy. Upon the kitchen confirming there was garlic the staff quickly made another “garlic-free” fondue for my wife to partake in the experience. Everything was delicious and the staff was extremely gracious. Highly recommended 👍

Barbecue restaurant
Located near the Auditorium Stravinski on the Montreux waterfront, Restaurant Le Museum is a part of a network of galleries showcasing contemporary artists. It collaborates with international exhibition spaces as part of the Grata JJ cultural center project in Riga, Latvia. The restaurant offers a unique dining experience where guests can cook thin slices of beef fillet on mini grills at their table, providing a refreshing alternative to traditional Swiss fondue.
Beautiful Swiss restaurant with fine and carefully selected food, every single item is a fresh and made just for you. The menu is changing, but the BBQ is strong side of this place, others like porchini risotto is great as well. And espresso is amazing.
Andrejs D — Google review
The food was delightful, and the waiter truly stood out with their exceptional service. Their ability to patiently explain everything in English was impressive and greatly appreciated. The beef and turkey steaks we tried were very delicious and enjoyable to grill. The real hero, however, was the potato gratin, cooked with 10 types of cheese as they claim—it was absolutely fantastic. The music also added a lovely touch to the ambiance, creating a comfortable and inviting atmosphere. However, there are areas that could be improved. It would have been helpful if the staff had explained the proper method for cooking the meat. Unfortunately, we didn’t realize it needed to stay on the fire longer to avoid sticking, which led to the meat tearing during the process. Additionally, while the vintage decor contributes to the restaurant’s charm, the presence of spiderwebs on the walls and behind artistic pieces detracted from the experience. A more thorough cleaning would enhance the overall impression. Lastly, interactions with the staff in charge could have been more welcoming, which would have created a more positive and accommodating atmosphere. Despite these points, the combination of good food, great music, and outstanding service from the waiter showcases the restaurant’s potential. With a few adjustments to customer guidance, cleanliness, and hospitality, this venue could elevate its dining experience significantly.

Love the decoration, the food and everything! Traditional Swiss environment with great food and pairing wine. We do have great time here!
Emma S — Google review
The fondue was great, and the restaurant had an authentic atmosphere. However, I’m giving only a 3 for service because the staff refused to speak even a little English with us or make an effort to communicate, which was disappointing.
Maryna B — Google review
Loved this place. The atmosphere, the service and especially the food. We had the fondue boyarde and valaisanne. The meat was tender & juicy and the broth! Mmmmmmmm. The cheese was also amazing. We got the chocolate fondue for dessert and while the chocolate was delish, we were a bit disappointed by the fruit. They gave us a bowl full, but is was mostly filled with pineapple and pear. We expected more than a quarter of strawberry and a single raspberry. But that is our only complaint and since we can't give 4.5 stars, they get the full five.
Connie R — Google review
I absolutely love this place. It was my second time dining there. Although their menu options are limited, they are very good at every single item. It is very expensive for anyone coming from outside of Switzerland but as an exciting vacation/trip experience, it is amazing. Last time I had stake and salad and this time I had fondue and potatoes. Both were finger-licking delicious. Lovely staff as well.
Sepideh S — Google review
The place takes you to the 1800s the atmosphere and decor is super cute and cosy. Very very nice and authentic place. The walls are like a meter think and the tables and whole setting was magical. The music is a bit out of place and not at all what you expect in a setting like this- they were playing West La and pop music. We were a table of four and ordered all the “ special” fondue with truffle - classical fondue - two meat servings 400g on charcoal and an additional 100g of meat. During dinner we ordered another 100g of meat which thia serving was a bit more than the first serving of 100g. We also ordered salad and extra potatoes and wine. The wine was nice red wine”MONTREUX 1820” we liked the name - it was good. On the whole I wouldn’t have ordered anything else or different. The service was not that great - other then them taking our order no other words were exchanged. Even when they brought or collected the plates they never spoke- to say sorry excuse me - can I take the plates- - and yes they speak English. We paid 280 euro so you would say it’s cheap- and I would expect more from the service and the Servings. For the amount of food eaten I would say this is mediocre but just for the setting it’s nice - don’t come hungry.
EIRINI K — Google review
Hyped by hotel concierge as a great place to have a good Swiss meal, this was somewhat unexpected. Atmosphere was dark, smokey and smelling of food. Extremely rustic and the food was … umpf. Heavy, greasy, far from delicious. The potato gratin which is said to be a special, it was just soggy. The hike up the hill to old Montreux was great though. But this place is a tourist trap.

Located in the Old Town of Montreux, Caveau des Vignerons is a renowned Swiss restaurant offering delectable fondue with Vacherin and Gruyere. The establishment also provides other tempting options such as croute de fromage and raclette. The restaurant's cozy ambiance and delicious Swiss dishes make it a must-visit for food enthusiasts exploring the area.
I stumbled upon Caveau des Vignerons during my Swiss trip, and it turned out to be one of the best decisions ever. The fondue here is simply the best I’ve ever tried—rich, flavorful, and truly unforgettable. I also ordered steak, the soup of the day, and rösti, all of which were excellent, but the fondue stole the show. This place was the perfect ending to my journey through Switzerland. I am beyond grateful to have found this hidden gem. Highly recommend! P.S. After reading many negative reviews, I can confidently say that those people simply don’t understand what good quality food is. They also lack the right attitude to appreciate a warm, homely restaurant like this. They fail to realize that this is a family-run establishment with limited resources, focused on quality rather than being money-oriented. I am certain this restaurant is all about quality, and that’s what makes it special.

Came here for dinner last night and we had an amazing experience. We ordered the truffle fondue, and it was the best fondue we had in Switzerland! We also ordered the chocolate fondue for dessert which was also very good. Service was also top notch and we are always looked after. Highly recommend coming here during your visit to Montreux.

Traditional Switzerland restaurant. The interior design is very unique, like the deco and wooden furniture feels warm like home. Host of the restaurant is very nice and professional. Traditional swinish food love them. First time trying cheese hotpot.

This place and the owner are amazing. A very traditional restaurant with lots of Swiss specialties. The place is very clean, and really beautifully setup. There are two areas, one for smaller groups and a really cool second room for bigger groups. The owner is super friendly, very kind and just a great person. Fun to speak to him and he gives great advice on what to have if there should be doubts. We knew before we got there .. Food came fast and was absolutely Delicious. Pricing for what you got was very reasonable. If you are in Montreux and look for a real local experience where you leave very happy, give this place a go. Fantastic is all I can say!

Delicious food, and the restaurant is very cosy and welcoming. We ordered the batata rosti and cheese fondues. The waiter seemed a bit strict in the beginning, but was very friendly after all. Recommend for swiss traditional food (or so the menu stated)! 🫕

Great food and service. Highly recommend if you want to try traditional Swiss Fondue. Family run restaurant, no glimpse of racism. We found owners very friendly.

It was a great experience for fondue! First time trying out fondue and the waiter demonstrated the swiss way to eat a fondue politely. The food was ready quickly after ordering as we were expecting to wait 15mins or longer. Highly recommend everyone to go!

Really enjoyed our visit. We shared fondue and a half bottle of wine, both were delicious. The waiter indulged my poor quality French while checking we'd understood in English which was appreciated. We also had desserts. My wife loved the apricot sorbet and I had the Apple Tart as dessert of the day which was great too.

Mines de Sel de Bex & Boutique des Mines offers a unique experience with its tour and wagon train ride through lantern-lit caverns and part-flooded mine galleries beneath the Alps. The attraction has an interesting history spanning centuries, featuring amusements like the train, interiors, crystals, and the "salt kitchen." Visitors can enjoy a guided tour that includes a humorous introductory movie and fun facts provided by knowledgeable guides.
Fantastic visite. Really interesting and well done. You should know that you go 1.6km into the mountain with a little train that miners take. Miners go much further but keep in mind that if you are claustrophobic this might be difficult. The visit was very interesting and excellent guide. We also had a few tastings which were excellent. Truly worth the stop!! If you can reserve your tour before I would advise. We didn’t and were able to get on the last repo. But check the web site.

A real off-the-beaten-track experience and fascinating discovery that reveals the source and history of Swiss table salt! Enjoyable and adventurous train ride, followed by a great stroll through the mountains with a knowledgeable guide and export cheese tasting. Highly recommended and don't forget to bring your kids along! 🧂 🗻 🚋 PS: Access via public transport is slightly challenging. It's best to come by car or plan ahead logistically and expect a 15-minute walk along the road, river and up the hill. 🚘 🚌 🚶‍♂️
Christian T — Google review
Very nice experience visiting this underground salt mine! It’s a bit pricey (27 CHF per person) but it’s worth for a one time visit. They have a lot of explanation but unfortunately when I came it’s was only in French, no English. We had an unforeseen event and arrived 20 minutes late but they were really kind and let us in! It’s recommended to book the ticket online in advance as this attraction can get sold out quickly, specially during weekend or holiday.
John B — Google review
Two hours went by quickly thanks to our excellent tour guide who spoke in both French and German with a great sense of humour. The tour itself was informative and not too technical about the history & extracting aspect of the mines. There was, however, no display of huge piles of refined salt (which could be seen in some photos of the Basel mines). The most spectacular scenes in the mines were the salt pillar coming from the ceiling and the salt wall where you may taste the water. The lighting in the mines could be very beautiful. There was a restaurant in the mines which could fit about 50 people. There was almost no time and no mobile signal in the mines to read/hear the translation app that was recommended by this tour (they suggested you to download it at reception). This could be challenging for non-French/-German visitors. An on-the-go tasting of cheese, the caramel crème, and Zweifel chips was offered at the end of the tour. The location was difficult to reach via public transport. Free parking was available on site.
Evelyn C — Google review
Truly an amazing experience, the way the salt mines are preserved and maintained and also how well managed the tours are, it was really wonderful to experience it. Close to 2hrs tour in the mountain and able to see every aspect related to how salt is extracted from the mountains is just awesome. The staff are also very friendly and at the end of the tour you get free chips and tasting of locally produced cheese. Highly suggest to visit the salt mine.
Rajat B — Google review
Entertaining and interesting guided tour of the salt mines. English audio guides are available, but our guide provided information in English (and German) in addition to French. Total tour lasted an hour and a half, but it didn't feel drawn out. For anyone who likes mines, caves and salt, well worth a visit.
John M — Google review
This is a great attraction to come at any age. It has an interesting and fascinating history (centuries of it), some great amusements (like the train, the interiors, the crystals, the "salt kitchen" and some others). I've spent 2 hours on a guided tour and wasn't bored at any time during that time. Absolutely advised for a visit. It takes about an hour to hike here from Bex, or there is a bus to bring you halfway up, or you can even get a shuttle directly here on a weekend. Depending on your schedule and physical conditions, I'd recommend a hike for almost anyone capable and able to take it.
Eugen P — Google review
False advertising - no explosion on the tour or train ride into the mine tunnels. Very little English translation even when I tried asking questions as the guide had to rush us through the tour. An hour of not much except the tastings at the end.

Great pizza, really enjoyed the salad buffet, and service was excellent. Pizza is a little over priced but hey you’re in an alpine ski village up a gondola. We split a pizza and got the salad bar and were totally satisfied.

The service at the restaurant is really good: fast, friendly, attentive. Real professional as you do not so easily find nowadays. The food was excellent too and well served. Had the vegi Rösti, which is perfekt if you need some calories, nicely topped with what looks like some homemade pesto. From now on my 1st choice for lunch break when snowboarding there. They take reservations on busy days too... Was only at the restaurant, not spending the night.

Restaurant Le 360 is a hidden gem that offers stunning views over the city, making it an ideal spot for those looking to unwind with a drink. The atmosphere is enhanced by friendly service, creating a welcoming environment for guests. While many rave about the exceptional quality of the meat dishes, particularly the perfectly cooked steaks and delicious perch, some may find the interior to be quite simple. Regardless of its spartan decor, Restaurant Le 360 promises a delightful dining experience where great food meets breathtaking scenery.
Nice discovery in Martigny 😃 First of all the service was out of this world. The waitress was extremely helpful, attentive and so friendly, a little gem. And then the food… they have local beers to choose from, good wines, and one of the most delicious tartare I’d ever had. Perfectly spiced. Not to mention the skinny fries (les alumettes), which are to die for. Thanks for the lovely experience

The suggestions of the day are announced, as well as the prices, which is very appreciable, and avoids embarrassing surprises. Asian-style tuna tartare as a starter for me (delicious), mixed salad for the others. The main courses arrive in perfect timing, Kangaroo medallions, prime rib, beef tartare and Lötschberg perch fillets. The cooking is excellent, the morel and truffle sauces delicious. We finish with coffee and a nice chat with the waitress, who takes time for us. The room, not very large, is intimate. The restaurant was full and everyone looked very happy. A very pleasant experience, worth repeating! The Italian restaurant with a terrace provides a perfect setting to savor delicious meals after a day of hiking on the TMB. Guests can enjoy complimentary Wi-Fi while relishing the scenic beauty. The buffet is highly recommended, offering an array of delectable dishes and excellent service.
This refuge has been the best along the Tour de Mont Blanc! The staff accommodated my friends who fell behind and came in late. The reception process was super easy and comprehensive and the food was fantastic! Would highly recommend to anyone needing a place to stay in La Fouly!

It was great! Excellent service and super cute employees! Highly recommend! Because my friend had a her leg harts, we arrived really late down to the road so they came to pick us up in the car so we could make it to dinner! In short, a good place with good people. And there was even a fresh vegetable salad :)

Seems like a nice place to eat and get a drink, but not a nice place to stay. The bedding was well stained and torn and in need of replacing. The in-room shower did not drain and smelled terribly, and was in need of servicing. The old world locks and latches on the doors should just be replaced, as they are extremely loud and make noise all night. In lieu of better sound insulation, just replacing the latches would be a nice upgrade. The group dining hall is very cramped and stuffy.

We did the TMB, and because of a knee injury we walked really slowly, so we were very late. They were so wonderful that they came to pick us up from the start of the trail free of charge!! Overall, the place is lovely, the staff is very nice, and the dinner was really good (vegetarian for me — there was salad!!).

Exceptional Experience at Auberge de Glacier Auberge de Glacier exceeded all expectations. The service was outstanding—friendly, professional, and genuinely attentive from start to finish. Every dish was a delight, beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. From starters to dessert, the quality and creativity were top-notch. The ambiance was cozy yet refined, with stunning views that added to the overall charm. It’s clear the staff take great pride in what they do, both in the kitchen and on the floor. This is the kind of place you’ll want to return to again and again. Highly recommended for an unforgettable dining experience.

Do not book if you value sleep! We stayed here during our trek of the TMB. The location worked great and the evening meal was excellent. When we checked in, we waited for almost 30+ minutes while the staff was outside having a break and not interested in helping us. Some of the staff were excellent - friendly, kind and helpful. The rooms are TERRIBLE!! There are far too many bunks jammed into a room. The bathrooms were disgusting - so so dirty. Every floor board squeaked and every door seemed to slam. It was the worst night of our trip.
Kristie S — Google review
Did not enjoy our stay here. Our least favorite accommodation on the TMB trail. Room had a bad smell from the shower. Drain was clogged and you could only take a quick shower so it didn’t overflow. Room #16 needs servicing! Bedding was rough-a bit stained and just very old & weathered. Food wasn’t great either. The restaurant had good looking food but the TMB crew got a bad iceberg lettuce salad and an ok chicken veggie stew. Lots of nice looking hotels in town & wish our tour company had put us up at one of those instead. Also they don’t let you check in until 4pm. Every other place we stayed let us in to our room right away around 2 or 3. Do not recommend.

The best stop at my TMB Tour! I stayed here in July with my friends. We had lunch á la carte (picture) and dinner with half pension. The staff was very helpful and kind, they speak all the languages. The rooms were also very clean, we also had a great view (picture 2). Highly recommend this place!

Nestled in the heart of Zermatt, Swiss Alpine Hotel Allalin is a charming hotel that seamlessly blends traditional allure with contemporary comfort. The property boasts newly renovated rooms, a welcoming reception and lounge area, and a stylish bar with an inviting fireplace. Guests can enjoy the unique breakfast room with a winter garden and relax on the garden terrace. The hotel's wellness area offers ample space for relaxation, including saunas and a hot tub.
We had a lovely time staying at this hotel, the staff were very friendly, welcoming and accommodating. The building is very clean and newly renovated. We had a beautiful view of Matterhorn from our room. The location is very accessible to all the restaurants and bars. Also near bus stop to go skiing. We had a timely pick up and drop off from the train station and overall very happy with the service we received.

We stayed 3 nights at this wonderful Zermatt hotel and couldn't have been more pleased. The location was ideal - just off the main thoroughfare where most of the restaurants and shops are located. We walked everywhere, but there is a bus stop nearby for those that want to ride instead. There was also a great little market just down the street to pick up snacks, drinks, etc. The hotel has been recently renovated and all the spaces were just beautiful. Our room was spacious, with plenty of storage and had a balcony view of the Matterhorn. We even found a backpack in the room for us to use on our daily hikes. The breakfast buffet was wonderful and included fresh breads, meats, cheeses, etc, and there were also a few made to order items available from a menu (omelets, French toast, porridge). The staff were immensely helpful and anxious to take care of our every need. They even setup a specific table for our large group to eat together each morning, which was so lovely. This. hotel earned every star we can give!

First of all, go to Zermatt. Second, stay at Allalin. Make arrangements in advance and they'll pick you up at the Banhof and take you to the hotel, handling your luggage up to your room. Have your welcome drink on the nice lobby. The location is just the best. The picture of the Matterhorn is from our 5th floor room! Breakfast is excellent and there is a spa there. Rooms are very comfortable.
Kelly C — Google review
One of the best hotels I've ever stayed in. Absolutely beautiful rooms and public areas, and a lovely garden terrace, too. We loved the welcome drinks and cold towels (it was a very hot day) and also the complementary wine in the room. Couldn't fault anything about our stay, and waking up to a view of the Matterhorn every morning was magical. Even the balcony was beauitfully furnished with throws and cushions. The hotel has thought of everything and we will 100% be back at some point! Thank you for such a special stay.
Jenny L — Google review
The staff was very rude!! The lady from the reception acted as though we had committed a crime for going at breakfast at 10:20(breakfast ending at 10:30) with a 2 year old! She followed us the whole time always repeating: the child can’t do this, don’t touch that etc. When we asked for fried eggs, she initially refused stating that they only had boiled eggs. It was only after I showed her the breakfast menu on the table stating that they do fried eggs that she agreed to give us some. This was the worst experience we ever had! Additionally, breakfast was very poor for the amount paid per night (400 euros). I would recommend going to a different hotel, especially if you have kids, because this hotel is not child friendly. Finally, although we wanted to stay another night, they refused stating that they were fully booked (probably they just wanted to get rid of us, because we didn’t even finish breakfast and they were already asking us when we would leave). Do not recommend. Find another hotel.

Very satisfied! Despite a short stay, I loved the hotel’s location and level of service. The rooms are very beautiful, and I particularly recommend those with a view of the Matterhorn, as you can’t get enough of the view. The staff are very charming and attentive.
Hugo P — Google review
I wasn’t a guest myself, but someone close to me shared their experience here, and it left me genuinely disappointed. What stood out wasn’t just the strict policies, but how they were communicated, with a lack of warmth, flexibility, and clarity that doesn’t match the spirit of hospitality you’d expect in Zermatt. When expectations are set one way and then changed, it’s understandable that people feel frustrated. It’s unfortunate when a guest leaves feeling unwelcome, especially when all they wanted was a respectful interaction.
Zsolt M — Google review
Lovely hotel in the perfect central location. Easy walking to shopping and restaurants and to the bust stop to all ski lifts. Staff was kind and fluent in tons of languages. Breakfast spread was amazing. Can get custom made omelets, pancakes, and French toast, all types of coffee, espressos, and teas, plus a large spread of traditional Swiss breakfast items like breads, cheeses, and dried meats. My favorite was the make your own muesli option. The hotel has a state of the art notch dry sauna and wet sauna plus a cold plunge pool. The rooms have ample space and amazing Matterhorn views from many rooms. There is a nightly turndown service with Swiss chocolates. Beds are reasonably comfortable with nice comforters. Our room was way too hot even with the furnace off because of the heat from the other rooms so we slept with the door open most nights which was fine because it was pretty quiet outside. Upon arrival you get a Prosecco welcome drink while the staff move your luggage to your room. Everyday there is a free drink special and a small bite of a local desert or appetizer. All in all this hotel is top notch and 5 stars. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is the sauna is only open 11 to 8 daily. I was really looking forward to using it in the mornings to loosen up before a day of skiing. If they expended the hours from 8 to 8 I would give it 5 stars and come back again!

Restaurant Bellwald GmbH is a must-visit dining spot with breathtaking views and delicious food. The generous portions cater to hungry young family members, making it an ideal place for families. Despite the rising prices in the area, this restaurant remains a wonderful destination for families on holiday, offering ample space for kids to play safely and some of the best valley views. The gluten-free options are appreciated by many, although there have been some concerns about their understanding of gluten intolerance.
We cannot praise this location enough. We arrived after the closing of the kitchen but the very kind waiter promised us a nice late lunch. The views are amazing from inside or the balcony. The kids plates are really big for the hungry young family members and everything was delicious including the bread and local butter served in the beginning. We thank you so much and look forward to visit your restaurant again!! 😍

Wonderful town, have been coming here for the past five years or so. Still beautiful yet sadly the prices have been going up, which if thought about is understandable. In general it's a great place for families with their kids to go on holiday, there's enough place for the kids to do their own thing (safely). Above all it has some of the best views on the valley.

Chez Vrony is a renowned on-mountain restaurant located in the Findeln area of the resort. It offers amazing food and a stunning view of the Matterhorn from its terrace. The family-owned establishment has a long tradition and is accessible by gondola or ski-in from a blue run. The restaurant is known for its warm hospitality, with owners Max and Veronika likely to greet you upon arrival.
The view and ambience is unmatched! We’ve traveled a lot and this was truly one of the most stunning views we’ve ever had while dining. The food was also spectacular! We got the burger and the pasta special, and both were delicious. Cannot recommend enough!

Had their signature rosti w bacon bits & egg, and beef burger. Both nice & coupled with Amazing Matterhorn view. But almost 44degree steep hike up & down towards the eatery, not easy for those who do not exercise regularly as high attitude too. Able to reserve via their email on website to get their outdoor bench seats with the best views.

Our experience at Chez Vrony was truly an 11 out of 10. The location is absolutely magical, with the most breathtaking views of the Matterhorn. We went to celebrate my mom’s 70th birthday, and the staff went above and beyond to make it special. They were so kind and accommodating—letting our group of four sit at the very front of the patio (a spot that usually only seats two). At the end of lunch, they even surprised my mom with a birthday dessert, which was such a thoughtful gesture and made her day unforgettable. I am so grateful to them for creating such a wonderful memory. The food was excellent—the salads were fresh, flavorful, and filling, and the cocktails were delicious and refreshing after the hike down. Everything was beautifully presented and tasted just as good as the views looked! The hike itself was very manageable on the way down, but if you’re going with seniors, I’d recommend bringing hiking sticks, as the trek back up can be a bit tough. We had an 11:30 reservation, so the hike down was comfortable, but heading back up later in the day got hot—definitely bring sunscreen. Between the views, the food, and the warm, thoughtful service, Chez Vrony is absolutely worth the effort to get there. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Zermatt—it’s an experience you’ll never forget.

Absolutely a once in a lifetime experience for a flatlander from canada! The food was delicious, and the view unmatched. The best experience from our Switzerland trip by far. If you decide to splurge on any food or dining experience, while in the country or zermatt… highly recommend.

One of the most unique experiences I’ve ever had. Sitting there, eating cheese fondue while staring straight at the Matterhorn… it honestly felt surreal. The whole place has this cozy, charming vibe that makes you want to stay for hours. Every dish we ordered was genuinely delicious. Nothing felt overdone or fussy, just really good food made with care. Our waitress had the kindest smile the entire time, which somehow made the whole experience feel even more special. The hike up wasn’t bad at all. It actually made it feel like we earned our meal, which made everything taste even better. If you’re anywhere near Zermatt, this is a must.

This is a must do while in Zermatt!! I’m not sure I have enough adjectives to describe how wonderful our lunch was at Chez Vrony. The service was lovely, the food delicious and the setting absolutely magical with stunning views of the Matterhorn. It took us four hours to hike down from Gornergrat Station to Chez Vrony. It was an epic day and our most favourite of twelve days we’ve been in Switzerland.
Barb S — Google review
‘Chez Vrony’ one of my favourite places to visit in Switzerland or even in the world;) My second time back here and despite the restaurant was full, Vrony herself made everything possible to find us the perfect table. The restaurant is beautifully located with the most gorgeous view of the Matterhorn. The food was delicious and the service very friendly and professional. This place is all about attention to detail. Love all the details and branding. There was definitely a upgrade since my last visit. Loved the Gnocchi dish and I also was offered to order a half portion of the meat plate for myself. At Chez Vrony they really have one goal to make their guest happy. I like how the locals mix between all the tourists. That’s always a good sign. ‘Chez Vrony’ one of my favourite restaurants of all. The best way to digest is, take the walk down to Zermatt afterwards. Roughly 1 hour. Best Matterhorn view all the way. We will be back! Thank You!

Restaurant Schäferstube is a cozy and traditional Swiss spot located in Zermatt, offering a warm and inviting ambiance with its rustic wood-lined venue. The restaurant is known for its delicious raclette, meat fondue, and grilled lamb dishes that are sure to satisfy your taste buds. Operated by the Julen family, who also breed black nose sheep, the restaurant features alpine stylings such as sheepskin-covered seating and antique cowbells hanging from wooden beams.
Had an absolutely outstanding dinner at Schäferstube in Zermatt. We ordered the lamb rack and the lamb shank, and both were cooked to perfection—tender, flavourful, and beautifully presented. Pairing them with the house wine was spot-on; it complemented the dishes perfectly and elevated the whole dining experience. The atmosphere is warm and rustic, the service is attentive, and the quality of the food truly stands out. Do book in advance to avoid disappointment, as this place fills up quickly thanks to its fantastic reputation. A must-visit in Zermatt for anyone who appreciates incredible lamb dishes and a cozy Alpine dining experience.

We came to Switzerland to eat Swiss food and this was a perfect departure from the typical foods while still being very much Swiss. Best lamb we've ever had, might ruin it for us in the future. That's why you go there, get the lamb. Try it a few ways too. Great atmosphere, perfectly Swiss.

We enjoyed excellent food and quality service. We had the mixed salad, veal steak, and lamb chops, and everything was outstanding. Next time, I would substitute the noodles with the gratin. Overall, it was a great experience with a cozy atmosphere.

The lamb rib rack(from black nose sheep in region) to die for(best I ate, so savoury and flavourful & soft to each bite!), lamb shank big but abit gamey toeards the rnd. They also have racelette & fondue looks gd din try. Best to reserve kn their website as we saw a few group being turned away due to full house during their dinner service. Spent 105 Franc for 2 mains and 1 glass of wine.

📍 Restaurant Schäferstube @ Zermatt 🇨🇭 We were quite excited to try this place given its cozy alpine setting and focus on lamb dishes. Unfortunately, only the lamb chop met our expectations—it was grilled well and flavorful. The rest of the dishes were bland and lacked depth, leaving us disappointed. 💰 As expected in a tourist-heavy town like Zermatt, the prices are steep, but we’ve tried restaurants in other regions of Switzerland with far better quality for less. Honestly, it didn’t feel like good value, and I’m sorry to say it didn’t live up to the hype. 🤷🏻‍♀️Tourist pricing without matching quality. You’re paying for the name, not the food.

In the heart of Zermatt, Switzerland, lies saycheese!, a delightful restaurant known for its relaxed atmosphere and exceptional quality Swiss dishes. The young team's passion for cheese is evident in their carefully matured selection sourced from Valais cheese producers. While famous for its fondue and raclettes, the menu also offers a variety of options including fondue Chinoise.

Say Cheese is a place to go if you really want to sit down and enjoy a long dinner but for us, we wish we had passed. It’s very warm inside the restaurant so you’re sweating your entire meal. It took the sever several minutes just to take our drink orders. There was zero effort to welcome us, explain the menu to us, or even to ask if we had ever been before. Water is only available by purchasing expensive bottles of it. The food is ok, nothing that will change your life. The worst part of it all is the sever sets down about 6 desserts on our table (that we did not order) and says “these are for you, enjoy”, and quickly walks away. Us, not being familiar with the restaurant, assumed maybe this is part of the meal service. We took a few bites of two items (didn’t touch the other 4). The check comes and all six desserts are on the bill! I discussed this with the server and explained I didn’t even order dessert. She did remove the charges but the whole experience was off putting.
T H — Google review
The fondue was not yummy and overpriced. For one pot of cheese fondue and one dessert, it was $150. Nice ambiance but not worth it to us. The staff was pushy and kept asking us to order more things and wine when we said no multiple times. also, $12 for. Bottle of water is outrageous.

Reservation is recommended! Amazing Raclette and with plenty of fun cheese fondues to choose from, ranging from mild and to strong and intense. And it’s not just cheese; they also offer a great Fondue Chinoise if you’re in the mood for something different. The starters and soups are excellent too. I had the lentil-barley soup, and honestly, it’s one of the best soups I’ve ever had, absolutely delicious. Don’t forget to wines to make a full experience. They have nice local selections! The quality is top notch, and the service team is warm, welcoming, and genuinely heart-warming. I’d recommend this place to any of my friends looking for a cozy, high quality dining experience. And it’s an open kitchen! You can interact with the chefs which are super cool!

The warm goat cheese salad was Amazing and my husband loved the lentil soup. It was our first experience with cheese fondue and we decided we weren’t really fans. Kind of off putting.

If you love a fine, semi-mature cheese fondue, this restaurant is not for you. You have two choices mild and very mild. Gluten-free bread is a warm, closed bag of sponge. Just gross. The waiter stood behind my husband during the payment of the bill and did not avert his eyes when my husband entered the pin code. A huge "NO-NO" The service was friendly, if rather pushy. The Brown Cow Pub in Zermatt is a popular spot for a relaxed apres ski experience. It has a cozy pub atmosphere with sports on TV and a no reservations policy, making it challenging to find a table. However, there are usually seats available at the bar or you can wait for a group to leave. The Post Hotel complex also houses five other bars and clubs, offering various atmospheres from live jazz to dancing on giant beer barrels.
All the food is delicious with good service and attentive staff. The restaurant is located below the hotel, making it convenient to get to. They play stylish music. Prices are expensive in typical Swiss style

Brown Cow is a great spot for a delicious chicken burger! My wife and I don't drink or eat red meat so the chicken burger was our primary choice and we were not at all disappointed! The burgers were delicious, reasonably priced, and the fries were hot and crispy. A great option for chicken preferrers! The atmosphere was also quite nice. The background music was not very loud so talking was easy. We were also pleasantly surprised by passing goats through town as we ate. This is a very clean and well kept establishment. The bathrooms/water closet are located in the back, up the stairs, and to the left also when you're inside as a patron.

The service is very attentive but the burgers are just ok. The bun for the burger fell apart about halfway through so they need to do a better job roasting the bun or picking a better bread to make the burger. Overall was good and would absolutely give it another go.

Missed the lunch window as most kitchens closed by 1:45 PM, so we ended up at this pub—and what a happy accident it turned out to be! Their Zamatt Beef Signature Burger absolutely blew me away. The beef patty was perfectly seared on the outside, yet juicy and tender inside. Add crispy bacon, melted cheese, and a generous serving of thick-cut fries, and you’ve got a winner. I also spotted Baileys coffee on the beverage menu and asked if it could be served cold—the staff happily obliged, and it was fantastic. If you're a burger and Baileys kind of person, this spot is a must-visit. You won’t be disappointed.

Delicious and authentic Swiss restaurant for fondue and other classic Swiss cuisine. Definitely recommend making a reservation way in advance. The host suggested booking 3 weeks in advance to people who tried to walk in. They do seem to accommodate large groups. The interior is very cute and homey.

We didn’t try the dinner at Whymper Stube, but we stopped by just for the chocolate fondue. Surprisingly, chocolate fondue isn’t as popular in Switzerland as cheese fondue, so it was a pleasant surprise to find a place that serves it. Located inside Hotel Monte Rosa, one of the oldest hotels in Zermatt, this cozy restaurant offers a charming setting. There are only three tables outside, but if you get one, you’ll enjoy a nice view and a good spot for people watching. The service was friendly and welcoming. The chocolate fondue itself was rich and satisfying, served with strawberries and bananas. We opted out of the marshmallows. If you’re in Zermatt and craving chocolate fondue, this is one of the very few places that offers it.

Wonderful time in Whymper Stube. It was our first time having raclette, and we loved it. Their sausage "Whymper-Stube" was also delicious. We went mid-afternoon, after arriving in Zermatt. It's a popular place and started to get busy closer to the dinner hour.

Got in right before the lunch special was over. The fondue was good, though we wished we had more food for the price. The wine was good and the service was very efficient.

Pizza Takeout
Grampi’s Bar & Restaurant is a cozy and charming Italian eatery located in Zermatt village, offering authentic Italian cuisine in a comfortable setting. The restaurant's kitchen stays open until 1 am, serving freshly made pizzas from a wood-fired oven and featuring a decent vegetarian menu. A highlight of their offerings is the 'Raclettissima' pizza, which combines raclette cheese with onions and gherkins in the shape of a pizza.
As a New Yorker, I have had my share of excellent pizza. However, when near the Italian border, I knew I had to try the best pizza places in the area since I’ve always loved Italy’s pizza when I’ve been lucky enough to be in the vicinity. It did not disappoint. I had spicy salami and pineapple on my pie and it was super tasty. The vegetarian lasagna was enjoyed (though surprise there are peas in it in case that bothers you). The osso bucco was deemed ok not great. Wine was excellent and the restaurant is in a lively location in the main drag in zermatt.

Delicious authentic Italian food with homemade noodles! I had the fusilli which I wasn’t expecting to look like what it did but it tasted amazing. We walked in without a reservation and had no issue with seating. It’s located in the heart of Zermatt so it’s easy to get to from most anywhere. We sat outside on the balcony. There’s not really a good view of the mountains as homes block the view and you face south. But that’s alright when the food is good.
Aliza B — Google review
Cute little restaurant. Excellent service. Ordered fusilli with Mediterranean vegetables and cannelloni. The cannelloni was very very good. It was so creamy, really liked it. Would love the recipe!! Could’ve used a little more tomato sauce. Fusilli with Mediterranean vegetables was nothing spectacular. I wouldn’t get that again. Ordered a coupe Denmark for dessert and it didn’t have a lot of the hot chocolate sauce like I’m used. I would eat here again, but I would order different things. we made reservations. The restaurant was crowded.

The food portions are huge and totally worth the price. Everything was super tasty — especially the pizza and ribs! 🍕🍖 You can book directly via Google Maps, and I recommend requesting a window seat for a cozy dinner view. The restaurant opens at 6 PM, so it’s best to make a reservation in advance.
Memee P — Google review
We had an enjoyable dinner at Grampi in Zermatt. The meal included bruschetta, spinach & ricotta cannelloni, and carbonara. The bruschetta was well-prepared and attractively presented as a mixed trio with three distinct toppings, offering a creative twist on a classic starter. The spinach & ricotta cannelloni was excellent — rich in flavour, perfectly balanced, and cooked to ideal texture. The carbonara, while well-executed, was slightly too creamy for my personal preference, though those who enjoy a creamier style would likely find it very satisfying. Service was attentive and efficient, and the atmosphere warm and lively. The restaurant does get busy, which speaks to its popularity and consistent quality. Overall, Grampi delivers a thoughtful dining experience with well-crafted Italian dishes and professional service.

The best restaurant we visited in Zermatt We sat outside on a beautiful terrace. The service was excellent and very friendly. We only order dessert when everything before it has been satisfying – and the desserts here did not disappoint. Thank you for making our dinner such a lovely experience.

Amazing food at relatively affordable prices compared to everything else in Zermatt. Best food we had in Switzerland hands down.

My husband and I dined here 2 nights in a row while on vacation because the food, service, and overall vibe were just that good! They make you feel like family here and really let you wine and dine which we loved. We didn’t have a reservation either night but showed up right when they opened and we were able to get a table no problem (we came in May when the town is not quite as busy though). Thank you to the whole staff who were so welcoming, kind, and attentive. This is hands down one of our favorite restaurants and we can’t wait to come back again next time we visit Zermatt!

The restaurant boasts modern and classic Italian dishes prepared with fresh ingredients sourced from local farmers and fishermen. Guests can enjoy stunning views of the Matterhorn while savoring delicious homemade pasta, grilled meats, and fish dishes. The restaurant's incredible vibe complements the overall atmosphere at CERVO.
This Italian gem is a must-visit! The cozy ambiance sets the perfect tone for a beautiful dining experience. The food is simply incredible, with a carbonara so stunning it feels like a masterpiece. The champagne selection was equally impressive, perfectly complementing the meal. Add to that the attentive and excellent service, and you have a top-tier restaurant that leaves you wanting to come back for more. Truly a standout spot!

Arguably the best meal in Zermatt. Not only is the restaurant located in the incredible CERVO hotel with stellar views of Matterhorn, but the food is also absolutely incredible. Service is friendly and excellent. The pasta carbonara? Insanely good.

Some of the best food we had during our trip in Switzerland. Absolutely loved the pasta and the great wine pairings with local wines. The tiramisu is definitely a must. If you’re looking for a great meal with stunning Matterhorn views, look no further 🍝

The best food we had while in Switzerland! We ate here twice during our stay. The cocktails and desserts were delicious as well. Service was top notch, everyone was attentive and very helpful.

We tried so hard to like this place but it was hard. It was too fancy for us. It’s very expensive so we were expecting delicious food. However I got the ribeye and the truffle butter was extremely over salted. It ruined the steak for me. I also bought a 12 CHF side of truffle fries which were covered in Parmesan cheese. You could barely taste the fry itself. I’m giving it 4 stars because of the views and the atmosphere. They had live music playing which was a nice addition. This is definitely a fine dining experience so be prepared to pay for a full course meal. Nothing comes with anything. We came here because we saw online it was rated the number one Italian restaurant in Zermatt. I wouldn’t say that is true. I can recommend this place to anyone looking for a fine dining experience with money to spend and a rich taste. If you want more classic Italian dishes, look elsewhere. This place doesn’t offer any “normal” pasta dishes such as spaghetti Bolognese.

This place is such a gem. For the life of me I can't figure out why it's only a "three star" hotel. It's top notch all the way. First, the staff are the most helpful and friendliest people you will ever meet. Second, tons of amazing tiny little details everywhere. This hotel is so special. Everything high-end. Finally, the view and location are perfect. We've stayed all over the word, and this is definitely one of our favorites. Oh yeah--I almost forgot--the restaurant is absolutely amazing. The food is truly spectacular. This place should be a five star hotel. It's a true hidden gem.

Very popular with Asian (HK TW CN JP KR) tourists it seems, happened to visit when there were a couple of big tour groups dining. Very peaceful when they left. Food was excellent, the Swiss breed some happy cows. Splurged on the filet and lobster, thankfully they tasted great. Truffle fondue was good too. Not sure how this place matches up with other restaurants in bang for buck, since we spent a bomb (no taxes though), but at least the food was good.

Restaurant Chez Max Julen, located in Hotel Beau Rivage, offers a unique dining experience with its open layout that allows guests to watch their meals being prepared. The grill restaurant is known for serving a variety of expertly barbecued meats and side dishes that are sure to satisfy any appetite. With traditional table settings and professional service, this upmarket establishment provides a delightful atmosphere for enjoying grilled specialties such as meat, fish, and lamb cooked over a wood fire.
The staff and owner Armin were amazing, friendly and funny. Armin cooks the food on an open fire in the dining room. It was the best meal I had on my entire trip through France, Italy and Switzerland. I told our server my wife was interested in swiss wines and she helped her select one. As the meal started a new glass of different wine was delivered, Armin came over and explained that it was one he and friend make in St. Niklaus. At the end of the meal some complimentary deserts we given to us. I felt like I was dining at a good friends house. Can't say enough.

My wife and I enjoyed dinner here. The gentleman who cooked our dinner over an open fire is very nice and does a great job. My wife had foie gras and lamb chops with sides. I had the 4-course dinner with wine pairing. The starter was a plate of a wide variety of yummy food such as shrimp, smoke salmon, foie gras, thinly sliced prosciutto and beef and pickled onions, capers, etc. The soup was fabulous. The main course was steak with vegetables. The dessert was a sorbet with fresh fruit and a homemade liquor - all of which was very good with the wines served at each course.

We had the Gourmet Plate which I didn’t quite get what was included just knew it was an assortment of things. When the plate came , wow!!!! It was pure delight !! Then we had rack of lamb and deer as main course. Both these meats were rare to come by when I’m from and the food was amazing! The entire dining experience was cozy and very enjoyable. We even had a guest who played on his harmonica for fun! Highly recommend giving this restó a try if you are in Zermatt!

I visited Zermatt for the first time with my boyfriend and a friend. We had the best experience at this restaurant! The female waiter who took care of us had great hospitality. She was cheerful and recommended the wine soup, which I had never tried before! It was very delicious. The master who grilled the meat came to our table (on the second floor) and treated us well. The atmosphere was so warm from the time we entered until the time we left, so we ended up staying for a long time. Zermatt is also a wonderful city, and I was impressed. I definitely want to come back here again. Thank you so much.♡

This was the best open-fire, meat dinner we've had. Our party of six (including one vegetarian) all had different plates and shared appetizers. Everything was great and we quickly started picking from each others meals. The amazing escargot is in a delicious garlic mushroom sauce instead of the typical shells-in-butter. Deer was tender and nicely seasoned, not gamey, and easy to appreciate. My friend had ribeye and I had sirloin and both were excellent. I always cringe when ordering steak so the open fire made me hopeful. I was not disappointed. Chef Gsponer visited the tables and shared bits of other foods (like a touch of spätzle to go with the escargot sauce). He was like the friend serving family dinner. We topped it off by sharing apple strudel which was very good, but the vanilla ice cream was great. Our server Mariana took great care of us. She shared info about the sourcing and preparation, and offered additional bites of foods (as if we needed to eat more) and she is a great spirit. The price is appropriate for the quality of the meal and atmosphere. The food, restaurant and people really come together for an exceptional experience.

Alphitta is a charming restaurant located in Riffelalp, accessible via the scenic Gornergrat train. The eatery offers delicious cuisine with daily live music on the terrace, weather permitting, and boasts stunning views of the Matterhorn. Visitors can enjoy Swiss dishes like Rosti while taking in the picturesque surroundings.
Ok, long review incoming but we visited Alphitta today and honestly, it completely blew us away. From the moment we arrived, the views over the Alps and the iconic Matterhorn were absolutely breathtaking - you could sit there all day and never tire of it. The food was out of this world. I had the pork belly and it was genuinely one of the best meals I’ve ever eaten - perfectly cooked, beautifully presented, and full of flavour. The wine selection was fantastic too and paired so well with the food. A huge part of what made the experience so special was Dave and Tanya, who run Alphitta. They were wonderful… welcoming, attentive, and so knowledgeable with their recommendations. It really felt like visiting friends rather than just going to a restaurant. And their gorgeous dogs were such characters and such a joy to be around! We sat outside to soak up the sunshine and those incredible views, but the inside of Alphitta is just as special.. beautiful, cosy, full of charm and character. You can tell a lot of love and care has gone into every detail. Alphitta isn’t just a restaurant - it’s a whole experience. We’re already planning how we can come back because it’s somewhere that stays with you. If you’re in the area (or not!), make the trip as you don’t want to miss it. Absolutely unforgettable.

This place is a gem!😍 It was recommended by multiple locals from the Zermatt town. I arrived the restaurant a bit late (4-ish pm) so they could only serve salad/ dessert. I ordered a glass of local beer, salmon salad and an apricot cake. All of them are in large portion and tasted super delicious! They have excellent view of the Matterhorn mountain and the owner, Dave, is very nice. Direction: You can drop off at the Riffelalp station if you are taking the Gornergrat cogwheel train. Walk for 5-10 minutes along the trail and you will find the place.

This place is the most amazing spot to eat in the Alps. No joking, if you skip this you are truly missing an experience like no other. We happened to stop on our trip and are so glad we did. We ordered the crispy belly pork and lamb — both were perfect! The gravy had a beautiful aroma of herbs, with hints of garlic. It came with mashed potatoes topped with some sweet slices (I’m not sure what they were, but the sweetness paired perfectly with the rich gravy). At the end, we heard the apple cake here was a must-try… and oh yes, it’s goooooooood! We couldn’t believe we finished it all 😂 The two owners are so caring and full of life. From the moment we stepped inside, they welcomed us as if we were old friends. And the other two little “owners” — their adorable dogs — made the experience even more heartwarming. Alphitta is a must !

Dave and Tanja are amazing and very nice, the atmosphere it’s perfect, and you have the best company of Dave’s dogs. I will come back for sure

Restaurant GoldenIndia in Zermatt is a must-visit for those craving authentic Indian cuisine. The restaurant offers a wide selection of flavorful dishes that are sure to satisfy your taste buds. The ambiance is family-oriented and the staff, particularly Famason, is known for being friendly and accommodating. Despite the higher prices typical of Zermatt, the generous portions and top-notch quality make it worth every penny.
Absolutely loved this place! First off, big applause for using 100% biodegradable and recyclable packaging for takeaway—really appreciate the eco-conscious approach. The food was excellent and the service was friendly and efficient. The Butter Chicken was the highlight—rich, creamy, and full of flavor. Definitely a must-try. We also had the Sabz-E-Mehfil (vegetable curry), which was delicious, but a bit on the spicier side. It may be too spicy for some. One suggestion: it would be great if the menu could indicate the level of spiciness (how hot and spicy a dish is), so customers can choose according to their preferences. Highly recommend this restaurant—looking forward to coming back!

During my stay in Zermatt, I ended up visiting GoldenIndia twice — that’s how good it was! The food is absolutely amazing — rich in flavor, great quality, and so authentic that it’s hard to find Indian food this good even back home in Canada. Every dish we tried was full of taste and perfectly spiced. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. Highly recommended for anyone craving real Indian food in the Swiss Alps!

Believe me when I say this is THE BEST Indian restaurant in Switzerland. We saw it outside the zermatt station and a friend had recommended it. The food was amazing! The taste is authentic and you can feel that chefs have put effort. We got paneer pakora, chai, palak paneer, naans and Gulab jamun. All were outstanding. It is expensive but everything in general is expensive in Switzerland. This one is worth the money. You’re missing out if you visit zermatt and don’t go here as an Indian. 10/10 recommend.

When we ordered, we learned that they ONLY serve all chicken dishes with chicken legs. I asked about the description of chicken tikka because it stated boneless. They are using legs & just cutting off the chicken. We’ve never had tikka quite so greasy and had to eat around so much fat. Of course, they are charging the same high prices as other Swiss restaurants that use white breast meat. In fact, this is the first Indian restaurant that does this. We’ve been in Germany/Switzerland for about 30 days, eating at several places. I was pleasantly surprised all serve chicken curry with breast meat. I ordered it here and with the legs, very greasy. Again, same high prices as others using white meat. The other thing we’ve never seen is serving chicken tikka on a plate vs the usual hot skillet. It actually had zero flavor. The outer sauce had some flavor but the chicken itself tasted more like boiled chicken. I kind of thought this wouldn’t be the best meal when the whole order came out within 6-7 mins. The whole experience was very disappointing. The total was $75chf for: chicken tikka, chicken curry, 1 naan. Will not be back. Not sure how so many reviews can honestly say this is the best Indian food they’ve eaten. Not true at all. The best in Europe is in Strasbourg, France. Tikka n’ Way. Chef worked at a 3 Michelin star restaurant in New Delhi. We ordered the exact same dishes and it took 45 mins to prepare. That should give everyone a clue. Update 9/27: Interesting after our review lowered the overall rating for the restaurant, so many reviews written by Indians have 5 stars; note none posted any pics of them in the restaurant with their food. Mostly just gave ratings. Lesson learned for us not to fall for fake reviews when there are so many.

Food was very delicious! Servers were nice! I ordered chicken curry with balsamic rice. I don't eat spicy but the curry is very little spicy that I would recommend people not having spicy food can give it a shoot. Garlic naan (bread) was amazing and went perfectly with the sauce.

Really good for a yummy, filling meal after walking on the hiking trails. Pricey but that's to be expected in the area and Id say you get more for your money here. Quality of food lines up with what you would get at some nice curry houses in London. The manager was very nice and even gave us some extra rice when he saw we were running out :) also had some nice conversations after!

Expensive, but that's to be expected. I ordered the garlic fish and it wasn't good. Came too salty, and there was not enough rice to balance that out. Dried ginger was used, which had weak flavour and leathery texture. Onions also were not peeled properly as many pieces were inedible. Fish itself was alright. And the fish came in a bowl that did not sit properly on its stand, which made eating more difficult. I have no idea what these other reviewers are talking about. Best Indian restaurant in Switzerland?? I hope they got a good free meal for writing that one up.

What a fantastic find. Coming from Birmingham I wasn't expecting it to be so good. The staff were amazing. There was a slight issue with my starter but they just replaced it within minutes Fish pakora for starter and prawn masala with garlic nann bread. It comes with rice. They didn't hold back with the prawns either. If you want a meal to fill you up go try them. You will not be disappointed. Booking is highly recommend.

Stockhorn by the rex is a restaurant that prides itself on sourcing its meat and produce from local farmers. The interior is cozy and beautifully designed, with a focus on cooking over an open wood fire. Customers rave about the friendly service, warm atmosphere, and delicious food. Dishes like fresh baked bread with homemade barlauch butter, mouth-watering soups, perfectly cooked lamb and ribeye, as well as sides like roast potatoes with rosemary are highly recommended.
I recently visited this amazing restaurant during our trip. From the moment we arrived outside we knew the service and food were going to be amazing. We were greeted so kindly and sat right away. Recommend a reservation if it is during their busy season. Our waiter was Felix and he was very hospitable. He gave his recommendations and pairings. The food was better than expected. We had many disappointments during our stay with food. The price point is great at Stockhorn especially for the quality. Would recommend this establishment and the bar attached to the Rex Hotel.

As a couple we went here for a 4-course Christmas Eve dinner where we had to reserve in advance. Upon arrival we were friendly greeted and they offer to put our jackets away. We were presented with the menu and upon ordering the aperitif this was removed from the table with a remark that they will explain every dish served. First dish they didn’t explain what the dish consisted off and they served it before confirming which wine bottle we would like to pair with the dishes. In the menu it said it will have truffle, which in the end was shredded to bits instead of shaved and hence lost all of its flavor. Second dish we asked them to explain and the waiter didn’t know what they were serving and came back with the menu instead of an explanation. Third dish which was supposed to be a sirloin was cold, full of muscle and because of that was chewy. We were offered another slice but we were not comfortable and didn’t like it at all. Dessert was 2 pieces of to our taste stale bread and Chantilly cream which was quite underwhelming. All in all we felt like it was overpriced, underwhelming and tasteless which is totally not a representation of a Christmas menu. What completely threw us off was that after payment and upon leaving we were directed to closet full of jackets where we had to look and search for our jackets ourself, which for us is unacceptable, if you offer to take our jackets you should also know where you stored them and return them as is, this is to our experience and opinion the opposite of customer service and experience and to some extend reflects poorly not only on the restaurant but also on the affiliated hotel Rex which stands for quality and customer service. We will not go back and deeply regret having Christmas dinner here.

Steaks were average and nothing special about the add ons. Sauces were more than average and I think there are better places in town for hormone free meat. This is the first place in Switzerland where they start with charging you for tap water and which was definitely didn’t fit in to trust them for anything else. Too pricey for this kind of food. Definitely a waste of my evening

Tasty food overall, but a bit overpriced for what you get I recently visited this restaurant and overall, the experience was good — not amazing, but solid. We tried 8 different dishes. About 6 of them were genuinely tasty, well-prepared, and nicely presented. The other 2 were just okay — not bad, but not memorable either. A bit hit-or-miss depending on what you order. The atmosphere was pleasant and the service was attentive. However, I did find the prices a bit high considering the overall quality. While some dishes were worth it, others didn’t quite justify the cost. 📌 In short: a nice place to enjoy a good meal if you choose your dishes wisely — but don’t expect every plate to blow you away. I might come back, but with more measured expectations.
Alex C — Google review
The atmosphere was nice, and watching the fresh fire grilling the steak right next to our table was quite entertaining. However, the food was underwhelming considering the price we paid. The starters and bread were very good, and the homemade duck fat butter was delicious. The steak and chicken, however, were just average. The duck, in particular, was disappointingly bland and overly salty. The waiter gave off a slightly arrogant vibe—still polite, but not exactly pleasant or comfortable. The four of us spent 355 CHF, with only two large bottles of water and a single cocktail—which probably says enough about how salty the food was.
Pam — Google review
The service here was incredible. Super funny team, really enjoyed our time. And the flavors were incredible. I recommend the beef tongue and the tenderloin, but in the two times we visited, we tried different things and nothing was a miss.

This chalet-style hotel provides comfortable accommodations and a charming restaurant with a rustic ambiance. It offers delicious Swiss-style dishes made with fresh, seasonal ingredients, including tender meat from local cows. The menu is diverse and varied, featuring traditional fondues, Roesti plates, Fondue Chinoises, and mouth-watering meat dishes like the renowned Chateaubriand. Guests can enjoy not only excellent food but also stunning views of the Swiss mountain peaks.
Very good cheese fondue with pickles, onions, and potatoes. The waitress was very polite and attentive. The restaurant has a hunter’s lodge ambiance, with mounted trophies throughout. We sat outside during the day, and although it is on the street, the setting felt cozy and pleasant, with flowers along the side adding a welcoming touch. It isn’t inexpensive, of course, but then in Switzerland, everything tends to be.

Me and my teammates came here for lunch one afternoon, we sat on the tables outside looking out on the street. We ordered some honey tonic gins which were nice but quite expensive. We then shared at a fondue which was very very good. Waiters were very friendly and accommodating. Would visit again, very happy😌

We only came for lunch but had a great experience. The views were incredible, staff was friendly, and we had a great time playing cards and enjoying our meal in the sun. We ordered fondue for 2 which was enough to share with the whole table (5 people). Good experience sitting outside in the sun eating tasty food and would definitely recommend!

A charming spot for authentic Swiss classics like bratwurst with rösti, fondue, and a great selection of wines and gins. The host was friendly and a feel good atmosphere with a cozy roadside setting adorned with flowers. Perfect for a lovely Swiss evening 🫕

I was recommended to try the veggie plate here, but when it arrived, it actually came with bacon. When I pointed it out to the waiter, the only response was that he would tell the kitchen—there was no apology, no effort to correct it, and I was still charged for the dish. For me, this is very disappointing and disrespectful. If I order a vegetarian dish, I expect it to be vegetarian. Many people avoid meat for different reasons, and even though I personally don’t mind meat, what bothers me is being served something different from what I ordered. That breaks the trust between a guest and a restaurant. The view is nice, but that’s not enough to make up for the food and the service. I will not be returning and cannot recommend this place.

Restaurant Chez Heini in Zermatt is a one-of-a-kind experience not to be missed. The owner entertains patrons with his own Euro pop creations and a show, making it an unforgettable dining experience. The decor is described as Alpine S-and-M themed, adorned with glitter, statues, and a corner dedicated to the owner's friend Frida from ABBA. The menu features unique dishes like the Red High Heel Soup and juicy lamb chops.
Great dining experience! We tried several meat dishes, and they were delicious. The grilled lamb rack directly from the open-fire grill, and the fries were extraordinary. The desserts were delicious and all arrive with cotton candy. And Dan Daniell's life show was a pleasant surprise! It was a night to remember!

What a fun dining experience! The restaurants decor is very unique. The whole dining experience felt like a party. The food was excellent, and I highly recommend the lamb. They serve complimentary refills on the lamb and sides as well. Would definitely recommend this place to visitors of Zermatt.

Our experience at Chef Heini was deeply disappointing. The food was mediocre at best, but what truly ruined the evening was the manager’s behavior toward the wait staff. Throughout our meal, we witnessed him openly yelling at and arguing with his employees in front of customers, creating an uncomfortable and tense atmosphere. It was unsettling to watch and completely overshadowed the dining experience. I cannot recommend this restaurant, as no establishment should tolerate such treatment of its staff.

This was delicious one of the best meals we’ve had in zermatt. The lamb was out of this WORLD (leg of lamb & fillet were the stars) as well the polenta & fries Staff were so friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was great, we will definitely be back!

One of the best dinner experiences I’ve ever had. The food was amazing; the decor and ambiance were so unique, and everything had an interesting quirk to it. Our dinner was going long which worked out for the better, as we got to experience Dan Daniell serenading us for a few songs.

This place is a must-go. Not only is the food super good (don't go wrong and have any of the lamb dishes), the staff is very friendly and if you stay long enough, you'll get a very nice show. Dan Daniell 4ever

Tucked away in a small corner of town, Chez Heini was slightly difficult to find on foot. Arriving, we were pampered with excellent service - coat hanging, dedicated waiter, greetings by the owner, and treated to a unique gothic/medieval themed restaurant. Female waitresses with slightly revealing uniforms which they apparently like to flaunt 💁🏻 The menu was interesting. Presented as a stack of records which made it slightly difficult to hold. The format was incredibly hard to read. We gave up after struggling and went with their recommended 4 course menu. Appetiser was a choice of devil fish or foie gras. Devil fish was light with a touch of spinach and lemon - would recommend heavy eaters to skip this for the sliver of seasoning was largely missed by my family. We expected grilled foie gras but was disappointed by the cold, sandwich spread variety. Nevertheless, the combination of bread, foie gras spread, oven dried oranges and caviar surprised us with its depth of taste. Next came pea soup. Served in a red high heel shoe 😂 The novelty factor wore off pretty quickly though. The pea soup was direct and down to earth. Nothing particularly impressive, with the high heel obstructing our hand movements. Lamb was served in 2 different styles - ribs and fillet. The star of the show and the saviour of the menu indeed! Each lamb rack is personally grilled by Dan Daniall, the owner, and served fresh from the roast. Meat was succulent, flavourful and incredibly pleasurable to sink your teeth into. Would highly recommend the lamb racks be it a la carte or from the set menu! Dessert was ice cream, macarons, mousse, with a light touch of stylised candy floss. Extra points for the unique presentation! We were also graced with a performance by Dan Daniall, a local musical artist who can be quickly googled. Gave the atmosphere a different quality from the typical high class restaurants. Was a welcoming good cheer on Christmas Eve :) Servings are very large for Asians and ordering from the set meals would require a set per person. Do consider Ala carte should you not have a large appetite. Do book this restaurant very much in advance! Christmas Eve bookings require at least 3-4 months prior while New Year's Eve might require 1 whole year.

Renowned for its wood-fired pizzas and freshly crafted pasta, this restaurant draws inspiration from the vibrant flavors of southern Italy, particularly Naples. Guests rave about the warm and friendly service that complements the high-quality cuisine, making every meal memorable.
Top notch. Recommended by our hotel, but couldn't get a table that day as it was fully booked. So, we ordered take-away which came with a slight discount. The pizzas were delicious and I would go back for more. We came back for a second dinner and oh my the place was packed again. Luckily we did make a reservation 1 day prior, which wasn't confirmed somehow? But they managed to squeeze us in as we were just a party of 2 and we ate very quickly. 🤣 So they told us that they were open only a month ago and I feel like they are going to be the best Italian restaurant in Zermatt for awhile. MAKE A RESERVATION. COME ON TIME. EAT AND ENJOY. The soups are delicious, pastas are all made fresh and the food wholesome. I would come back. ( I sort of have to because Matterhorn was covered in clouds the 3 days I was here, so I will be back.)

Food was quick and amazing. As we have some small eaters within the group, the restaurant allow us to share the huge portions which I appreciate. Flavours wise, easily the best food I had in Switzerland and comparable to the high rates ones in Italy which pleasantly surprise me and my family. Staff was also very friendly. Thank you.

This was the BEST authentic Italian food we had in Zermatt. Dinner reservations are required but lunch time it’s usually empty so we came for lunch. Noodles are homemade! I had the cavatelli with pork which was absolutely delicious and filling. I was incredibly full after the meal. Service was super friendly and they kept coming by to check on us. We sat outside at a table in an alleyway which is their only outdoor seating. No view at all but I can say for sure the food was worth every penny spent.

Dining here was nothing short of transformative. Each course revealed balance and mastery: tender pork ribs with depth of flavor, pasta with scampi that tasted like the sea, and pizza crafted with true Italian soul. The dessert platter sealed the evening — indulgent, refined, and deeply memorable. A meal that lingered long after the last bite.

Nestled in the Findeln area of the resort, Findlerhof is a charming restaurant offering stunning views of the Matterhorn. The cozy and rustic eatery provides a warm and comfortable setting for visitors to unwind and savor fine cuisine and wines. Run by Franz and Heidi Schwery, the restaurant takes pride in using fresh ingredients from their own Alpine garden to create creative dishes like fluffy Matterkuchen and bacon-and-leek quiche.
We had the rosti, it was very very good. We also liked that they had a lot of non-alcoholic drinks including beer and sparking wine as well as decaf coffee. Sorry folks us healthy Californians ruining the Swiss tradition. Great view.

This is a must if you’re skiing Zermatt! Make sure to make a reservation and hope to catch it on a nice day because the views and food combined are the most elite experience one could ask for. Everything we ate and drank was beyond delicious and all on a sunny day on the side of the mountain with views of the Matterhorn. Staff was friendly, menu had a lot of variety, and vibes are unbeatable. Would definitely recommend this over or instead of Chez Vrony if you’re having difficulty with reservations!!

Unfortunately we did not get a chance to eat here as we already had lunch but we did stop to have cocktails before the hike back down to Zermatt. We had the peppermint spritz and the rhubarb spritz and they were both delicious. The staff were extremely friendly.
Michelle W — Google review
The food and views are amazing here. However, the food is prepared ahead of time, which means there are very limited options for those with food allergies. The service was not great, though. Not enough staff for the number of tables, and they even had another group seated at the same table as us. The food came promptly, but we had to ask for the bill twice, and we waited 25 minutes for the bill to arrive. All together, probably worth the long walk to get here, but if you're not up for a long climb, the food closer to the lift stations is perfectly acceptable.

Okay what to say about this restaurant that hasn't been said before. Number one either have to walk or ski to get there. Amble down a narrow path to enter a otherworldly beautiful restaurant with a equally gorgeous vista of the matter horn. Definitely need reservations and sunscreen. We had a cheese fondue that was good. We were staying at La Couronne hotel where the restaurant is located, so it was easy after ski. Food and atmosphere was nice, but out waiter called “Albar” or something similar was not nice at all. He was a arrogant for all the questions we had. For example, we asked about the menus that were written at the door entrance and he said, “they are not available, otherwise I had brought these menus”, but it was in a rude and arrogant way. Then he spent 20 min in another table speaking Spanish and didn’t bring our check. We had to look for another waiter at the kitchen to assist us. We hope this waiter gets a better training on how to treat customers.

During our trip to Zermatt, we discovered this restaurant. The food was fantastic, and we really enjoyed our server, Fred. He was friendly and patient with all of our questions about the food. Even though it took some time for our meals to arrive, it was absolutely worth the wait. We ended up sitting indoors because there wasn't any seating available outside for the five of us, which I think contributed to the slower service. I ordered the Orange Fennel Salad with scallops and bacon, and it was outstanding!

We had a late lunch so we just wanted charcuterie and wine for dinner. We saw online that this place had that and decided to try it out. We were promptly seated when we arrived and ordered the Valaisanne plate, a bottle of wine, and a bottle of water. We were told we had to order a minimum of 2 plates, so we also ordered a soup. This mandate seemed odd to us as the restaurant was pretty empty and there were at least 2 tables for 4 people with only a single patron. For context, we were a group of 2, sitting at a 2 person table. The wine and food were good. We were not offered dessert but we had seen earlier they had ice cream on the menu so we ordered ice cream for dessert which was also satisfactory. Although the food was satisfactory, we would not return as it did not feel welcoming.

As it is the only restaurant this far up the mountain, it's a good thing that (restaurant name) had great service, food, and a view. This café perched atop one of the mountains surrounding Verbier Switzerland, and accessible by both road and gondola based right in the downtown, is a wonderful place to stop for even an hour or two, and the weather in July made it perfectly comfortable to eat out on the deck without even a sweater. For my late lunch I dined upon the (food name) which consisted of a large salad across the plate, with small pieces of baguette topped with a round of mild goat cheese, and drizzles of honey. For an after-lunch bite I thoroughly enjoyed the "pie of the day" which had a base of buttery flaky crust, slathered with a soft and mild layer of ricotta cheese, topped with fresh raspberries and a jelly. It was refreshing, and just barely sweet; making for the perfect dessert to share, or have all to yourself.

Excellent overall, one of the best dinners in Zermatt. The lamb was exquisite. The beef kebab was good, was a bit overrated. The entrecote was the right temp and very tasty. Good to see everything grilled on charcoal fire.

During our recent trip to Zermatt, we had the pleasure of dining at Le Gitan eatery, and it was a great experience. The food was absolutely delicious, with each dish crafted to perfection. The cheese fondue, made with local cheeses, was a highlight, offering a rich and creamy taste that we thoroughly enjoyed. The burrata appetizer was uniquely prepared and incredibly flavorful. Service by Gonçalo was excellent; he went above and beyond to ensure we had a great dining experience. The mountain weather was refreshing and pleasant, allowing us to sit outside. As the evening grew late and cooler, Gonçalo thoughtfully provided a blanket to keep us warm, adding a cozy touch to our meal. We also tried a local red wine that was an absolute hit, complementing our dishes perfectly. The main courses were outstanding—each item, from the pasta with lobster tail to the pork, chicken, and fish, was freshly prepared and bursting with flavor. Le Gitan is a little gem in the heart of Zermatt, offering exceptional food and top-notch service. It’s easy to miss as it is so small, but we highly recommend it for a delightful dining experience.

Nestled in the heart of Saas Fee, Restaurant Essstube is a delightful culinary gem that promises to nourish both body and soul. This charming eatery, part of the Hotel Marmotte, boasts an enticing menu filled with international dishes that are sure to tantalize your taste buds. Each plate is crafted with care, showcasing extraordinary flavors and creative presentations. A must-try is their traditional rösti—made with love and bursting with flavor!
Beautiful place to eat at. The fondue was delicious -you can get bread and and potatoes, don't have to choose. The beef capaccio came with a balsalmic dropper and whipped butter. The bittle of rose wine they have is crisp and paired well with the fondue.

I just love a place where you can feel the soul and passion behind the meals and atmosphere. Dinner here was absolutely fantastic!! We ordered the cordon-blue & the beef stir-fry. The chef came out to verify my our food allergies and gave some modifications. Very caring and thoughtful. Evening was magical. Loved the place and staff were excellent!

Wanted to share that the entire experience was amazing! Started from the greetings from the service staff to the awesome food and wine selection. For me, is a gem in this little town!

We really loved this restaurant (when going again, I might not opt for the sesame salmon though, as I didn't like the texture and expected it to be more of a crust - personal preference), however, what my partner had was delicious and the wine was lovely. We will be back! Edit: we did come back and I took something different to the salmon and it was lovely! We loved the texture of the wasabi ice cream :D

Everything was excellent. The service was fantastic from a great team. The filet steak and mixed salad were delicious. They provided complimentary bread and butter, along with tasty olive oil.🙏

Very impressed by the complexity and quality of the food at this restaurant. You wouldn't necessarily expect it from a restaurant attached to a hotel. The atmosphere was also lovely and the staff very friendly. The homemade chocolate mousse with little pieces of crunchy chocolate felt very worth it.

It's so good that I only ate there every evening!
Andrus K — Google review
Eclectic definitely describes this restaurant. Food is delicious. They put a huge effort into flavor combinations and unusual plating. Even able to accommodate Laktose free without hassle. The salad with salmon yum, beetroot lasagna delicious, surf and turf Devine, though pasta a bit bland and lacking substance. Sadly it took 3hours to be served a three course meal which is not acceptable when you have young kids and first people in the restaurant. Also children’s meals were way over seasoned, I don’t know many children who like heavily salt and peppered Schnitzel or vegetables covered in herbs (and my kids like vegetables). They enjoyed the homemade icecream Sunday’s, the highlight for them.

Château De Villa offers a quintessential Swiss dining experience within a historic chateau dating back to the 16th century. It is renowned for serving excellent fondue and raclette, making it one of the best places for exclusive raclettes in Switzerland. The restaurant boasts an extensive collection of Wallis wines, offering a complete tasting experience. Visitors can enjoy a diverse selection of regional wines, with over 600 labels available.
I have travelled the world extensively over 40 years. I ate at all restaurants ranging from pop & mom’s to Michelin three stars. This is my honest review of the restaurant Chateau de Villa in Sierre, Valais canton, Switzerland. This charming little restaurant in a picturesque château near the vineyards is a true delight! Inside, the menu offers plenty of cheese and cured meat options, but the highlight is undoubtedly the raclette. The experience lets you sample five different cheeses from the Valais region, one after another, each unique and delicious. If you’re still hungry, you can go for additional rounds of your favorite cheese from the selection. The raclettes come with perfectly cooked potatoes and traditional sides like pickles and onions. Everything was delicious, and the ambiance was just perfect. I finished with a lovely apple tart and coffee—a wonderful way to end the meal.

Delicious Raclette. Amazing taste of different flavors. Very friendly and attentive staff. Cozy atmosphere. Special thanks to Mauro. There is a lovely wine bar outside the restaurant too. Overall a great experience. Incredible wine list.
Mario C — Google review
Came here for my first Raclette with some friends. What a cool experience. We got the sampling of five cheese. The meal started with the server suggesting a local white wine that was absolutely top notch. We then got a salad which was also exceptional. The cheeses were so good! We were served cheeses from the bottom of valais to the top. My favorite was the martigny.
William C — Google review
Best Raclette experience I know, and as a Swiss i tried a lot of Raclette! As well they have Fondue and a very good wine cellar. If you pas Sion/Sierre and you stay in Valais, you should visit Chateau de Villa 🙏🏻☺️

We had Raclette. It was amazing, filling, and unique. We ordered mushrooms and zucchini as well. The wine was spectacular. The service was exceptional, and they explained where each cheese and meats came from.

Delicious raclette 5 course tasting, which you could accompany with the veggie, bread, salad and wines. Inside and outside seating, huge area, reserve a table in advance. Quite charming and old restaurant
Katerina K — Google review
A must go place to visit when you are in Valais! They have a huge selection of regional wines (more than 600 etiquettes) and the restaurant offer the best Raclette selection from the region. I absolutely recommend the raclette tasting menu (à discretion). This place will make you happy🤣

Nestled near the picturesque chapel of Blatten and just below the Matterhorn Glacier Paradise cable car line, Bergrestaurant Blatten is a historic mountain restaurant that has been in the Taugwalder family since the mid-19th century. This authentic alpine eatery offers classic Valais cuisine and is accessible by hiking from Zermatt or taking the Matterhorn-Express gondola to Furi and then trekking down to the restaurant.
Great spot to stop on your hike!! Service, atmosphere and food and drinks were spot on. We tried the bacon & cheese rosti (minus the egg) and the apple strudel- both delicious. Would totally recommend for a beverage mid hike or food this place was great.

Definitely the best food I've had in Switzerland so far. You have to get the mushroom soup with pastry. The apple strudel is the best I've ever had. Incredible. And the service is lovely with a beautiful view of the mountains. It's worth the walk up

Best meal i have had in a good while, and not to mention the views. Walked up from Zermatt through the gorge, which pits you out directly under this place. The mushroom soup was unbelievable, and the lamb wellington and pork chop were absolutely delicious. We tried to go back in for strudel on our way back down from hiking to the glacier, but unfortunately they were closed, so will have to come back another day Definitely worth the visit

It wasn’t easy getting to the restaurant as we had to walk down some stony/gravel paths but this might have been due to the route chosen by Apple Maps. Food was typical traditional Swiss style .

Great atmosphere for a traditional Swiss restaurant. Fondue and traditional foods. The cordon bleu was fantastic. Do not skip the dessert. Those apple donut things were amazing, I'm stealing those for my next dinner party.
Brock G — Google review
Very cozy cabin like atmosphere. We went for fondue and were a bit naive- believing that all fondue was cheese related- and ended up with the meat fondue with broth. Zero complaints though- it was DELICIOUS. If I could find a bottle of their garlic sauce I would die happy. Though, All the sauces and flavors were truly great. Our waitress was so sweet and spoke more languages than google. We really enjoyed ourselves and if we had stayed longer we would have returned for the cheese fondue. Best to make a reservation as they were busy- Was very easy to do the reservation online. Only recommendation would be to read the menu very well- or end up with a happy cheese free accident like us!

The most beautiful and classic Swiss restaurant i have ever been and Ana and Maria were professional, courteous, pleasant, and caring! Had huge surprise for my wife’s birthday by the awesome staff! The foods were fresh, tasty, carefully prepared with burst of flavors coming out from the fresh and tasty ingredients! Thank y’all so much for the thoughtfulness and a great time!
Ron L — Google review
The restaurant is located at the ground floor of a quaint wooden building. Somehow I felt that it had a cramped atmosphere. Navigating around takes care and I am not a large person. Otherwise, the staffs were helpful and I had a great meal. As usual all meals started with salad and bread. Pretty standard and nothing to crow about. The ribs however, now that's another other story. I enjoyed it throughly. The ribs were superbly flavoured and marinated. Cooked perfectly with tender juicy meat that separates effortlessly from the bone. This is definitely one of the better ribs I have tasted. To end it I had ice cream drenched in schnapps. It had a combination of taste that surprised me. Probably something that you need to try a few times to get the nuance.

Located in Leukerbad, 1411 Restaurant Lounge offers a cozy and intimate dining experience with stunning views of the mountains. The restaurant is known for its great food, attentive service, and friendly staff. Despite being busy, the well-made and delicious dishes with Valaisan elements make it worth the wait. The menu may have limited choices but features lighter Swiss cuisine, such as the flavorful mushroom risotto.
We enjoyed a wonderful meal with such a great view. It was nice as there were very few people in the restaurant and I also loved that doggos are allowed. The food was top notch and the service was fantastic.

We had our first fondue experience and know it will be hard to ever beat. Amazing taste, stellar service, and comfortable seating. I'd say we'd be back soon, but we are from Canada. If we were closer this would be a frequent stop! Thanks for an unforgettable experience.

We had a booth for our family of 4 (couple, one tween and one teen), with a stunning view of the mountains before it got dark! It felt cosy and intimate, and yet still very much part of the restaurant. The food and wine were great, but what really topped it off was the service! We had two servers who were attentive, jovial and friendly. They worked well together as a team, and they had some fun along the way. Thanks for a delicious piccolo coffee - good baristas are hard to find in Switzerland!

Lounge 1411 - Leukerbad . Lazy to cook night out at the voted best restaurant around the area. . Very good quality ingredients. Love all the food we ordered. I slightly didn't like my pasta that much as I've had better ones at this price I think it could and should be better, ie more and fresher prawns. But Salmon, Hummus, Steak were great <3 Recommend for those who are looking to have a fine meal, great food and service.

We got a table in the bar with a spectacular view. We weren’t expecting great food in a tourist area but everything was delicious and our server Shana was outstanding. We had the mixed salad, langoustine, and filets. All delicious.

Very busy restaurant but fabulous- very delicious, well made, despite the limited choices on the menu. The food has Valaisan elements, but is lighter than usual Swiss food. Especially noteworthy is the mushroom risotto that we had- full of those umami flavors of mushrooms. We came in around 8:30 and waited for 30 minutes for a table, but it was worth the wait. Recommend booking ahead, especially as it does seem that the restaurant is understaffed.

Great burger lounge in Crans-Montana! The place is nice, but you should book your table because it's often full. The burgers are very tasty and the French fries are outstanding! The staff is very friendly and the service is usually fast. The prices are premium but the quality is there. 5/5

Very adequate pricing, nice atmosphere, great food quality (beef patty was nice and juicy, falafel burger was well balanced with sauces) Value for money is 10/10! And a bonus: wide variety of high quality craft beers!

Fantastic place for a burger and cold beer. We had the smoked salmon burger, falafel burger and cheeseburger with fries. All delicious. Very friendly and efficient service. You can walk in and get a table but might be best to book at busy times.
Richard C — Google review
Positive: the burgers and fries are delicious. Negatives: I know it’s in Switzerland (and in Crans), but this place is taking the national/local rip-off to extreme levels by charging customers 6 CHF for fries….and then serving you hardly any fries (I counted 10). And get this…you get charged 1 CHF for a tiny cup of ketchup (or whatever condiment you ask for). Also, the burger comes wrapped loosely in a baking sheet and is really difficult and messy to eat, no cutlery is provided, and it’s served on a tiny broken piece of slate (tedious).
Tom S — Google review
Great service from staff. Food is delicious. They need to have salt and pepper on the tables was difficult to get.

The burgers here are delicious, the chef/owner comes out and is very delightful and deservedly proud of his creations. The burgers are handmade and cooked MR to medium so they’re perfect. This is a charming little family-owned restaurant in the heart of Zermatt that offers authentic Italian food. We walked in to this restaurant without a reservation, but luckily found seats at the bar and let me tell you - those are the best seats in the house! The owners and the staff at the bar made us feel so welcome and treated us if we were a part of the family! I started and ended with classic dishes - tomato soup to tiramisu, and every dish was so flavorful and delicious! I felt like I was enjoying some nice home-cooked meal, which is rare to find! At the end when we possibly couldn't have another bite, we were offered dessert liquors as much as we liked, which was a perfect way to end the meal. Do not miss this restaurant if you are in town!

The best restaurant in Zermatt. We came here for Christmas dinner and it was absolutely amazing. This meal was the best meal we had in Switzerland and both agree the pasta here is better than in Italy. My partner had the Christmas tasting menu and I ordered the truffle mushroom soup and scampi pasta. The atmosphere is very cozy and welcoming. I felt like we were family eating Christmas dinner in Giuseppe's house. He came to our table many times to ask if we liked our food and if we needed anything. The service was excellent and at the end of the meal we got complimentary limoncello and my partner had tiramisu which was again at the top of the "best ever" list. All of the ingredients were fresh and flavorful. I wish we had come here sooner during our stay because we would've eaten here at least twice. Sadly, Christmas was our last night in Zermatt but this dinner was the perfect ending and we will most certainly dining here again the next time we are in Zermatt.

If you're in Zermatt and craving authentic Italian cuisine, look no further than Le Chalet da Giuseppe. This charming restaurant offers an array of delectable dishes that will transport your taste buds straight to Italy. The al dente pasta, with its perfect texture, is a highlight, and the flavors are nothing short of excellent. From the creamy carbonara to the aromatic aglio e olio, every bite is a delight. Save room for dessert, because the tiramisu and panna cotta are simply divine. Our experience was made even more memorable by Lydia, our host. Her happy and bubbly personality, along with her genuine willingness to help, added a wonderful touch to our evening. The owner was also welcoming making this whole experience very homey. Le Chalet da Giuseppe is an absolute gem that you can't afford to miss. Highly recommended!

Wow - this restaurant is a gem. We visited in the summer - sat outside - and had great views. The Service was great - and we loved the food. We went with the cheese fondue - which was delicious (note - they have multiple option for cheese fondue - and we went with the classic version). We also found a great place for our 6 year old - they have a slide and kids play area. The slide is relatively long and fast - so after dinner, my son spent 20 minutes playing!! the slide is located at the level of Madre Nostre. Overall - I highly highly recommend this restaurant and can't wait to go back!!

Made an online reservation weeks in advance to ensure a table for our group. Considering this is mainly a raclette/fondue restaurant, we came out not smelling like cheese due to the great ventilation. We had three different fondue types — it is great to have an option of fondue for one person as most places have a two person minimum. The fondue flavors were all good and not too intense. Our black truffle fondue was a bit watery and needed more cornstarch — the team was able to comp our coffees as an apology. Staff is super friendly and helpful. Would come here again.

So, I kind of stumbled on this gem during my last night in Zermatt hoping to get some fondue before leaving the next day. Had randomly chosen the restaurant after a quick google search for suggestions. When I made it up to the restaurant and realized it was part of the hotel, I wasnt sure if I would be able to eat since I wasnt staying there. The restaurant staff did say it is hard to get in without a dinner reservation but that they would take me since they had a free table. I was absolutely blown away by the staff and the setting and the food. So hospitable and concerned about my interests in the food and obviously very passionate about their work. Had a small salad and some traditional fondue. It was my first time having fondue and I was not disappointed! Would 100% recommend this lovely place to anyone after some genuine, local Swiss cuisine. Hoping to come back with family someday! So appreciated being treated like family and an honored guest while there!! Thanks for making my first time trying fondue memorable!!

Really lovely food and atmosphere especially on the terrace in the sun but the service let it down massively. We were rushed through our meal despite being sat at the correct time and leaving at the correct time and the waitress spent the last 20 minutes of our meal rushing us through constantly reminding us we had to give the table up at about 2 minute intervals. It really detracted especially when it’s not cheap but you feel like they are rushing you through for the sake of a 2nd sitting.

The food is great, and very generous portions! Probably one of the best views to dine with. Very convenient to get to by bus from anywhere in the town. The only glitch for me was the service- they are very busy & that’s probably why. The waiter didn’t ask me for water, and when I asked for water, he asked me if I wanted still or sparkle - half or one litr instead of informing about house / tap water. Because later I saw other tables get served house water.

I am writing to express my appreciation for the excellent experience I had at your establishment. It was a great place to enjoy a drink and listen to live music. I especially want to commend our server, Plama. His service was truly exceptional and exceeded my expectations. My party and I were very pleased with his attentive and friendly approach.

Don’t let some of the harsh reviews drive you away. We had a wonderful lunch in Lusi. We reserved online a day before and they kept a good table with the view of the Matterhorn, service was very professional and fast(we had one miscommunication with dessert but they fixed it very quickly) For the food yes the prices are high but you’re definitely paying for the location and quality. I had the wagyu burger with cheese which was delicious and my partner tried the ravioli and he said it was delicious and would definitely recommend. Since the mains were so good we decided to take a look at the deserts and was very pleased with what we had. All in all we spent a pleasant time at Lusi and was a bit concerned at time of booking since we read some harsh comments but figured if it’s on the Michelin guide app it can’t be bad and let’s give it a go, we’re very pleased customers and would love to return sometime soon:)

On a beautiful sunny day in Zermatt, we decided to have a drink and snack in the Lusi terrace outdoor seating area, looking at the Matterhorn mountain. We tried the focaccia and a few drinks (Aperol Spritz and the Matterhorn View), and everything was delicious. In particular, the Matterhorn View was our favorite drink. The service was very friendly and professional. If you like, the seating area is an excellent opportunity to chat with other people.

Nice terrace especially on sunny say, it is in the heart of Zermatt’s town and facing Matterhorn! They offer nice cocktails and some nice food! We were also at night and had dinner inside and the interior of the restaurant is lovely and especially cozy! We were with out little daughter and the waiters were great, they came each now and then to play with her and made her laugh the whole night! Very attentive personnel and the food is excellent, would definitely come again.

Au Vieux Verbier is an exceptional eatery located in the charming town of Verbier. It is renowned for its delectable cuisine and has garnered a solid reputation among locals and tourists alike. Whether you're looking to satisfy your appetite after a day on the slopes or simply enjoy a delightful meal, this restaurant never disappoints. The staff members are incredibly friendly, with special recognition going to waiter Sebastien, who impressively speaks Mandarin, adding a unique touch to the dining experience.
What an amazing experience! We were warmly welcomed by the staff right away and were seated at a table outside with stunning views from the terrace. The service was delightful, they even gave some treats to our little dog! The food was delicious: sea bream carpaccio, snails, and the house specialty had the most amazing flavors. Everyone was having a wonderful time. We really enjoyed our evening.

It was absolutely despicable. The service is by far the worst I have experienced in Verbier. The waiters didn’t care in the least about the guests, and the food (which used to be decent) is now close to inedible. If it wasn’t for the location I doubt anyone would go there… don’t be fooled, I will never go back again.

Having very good rankings, I was a bit disappointed about this restaurant, I have to say. Food was very good, but the athmosphere was not as nice as hoped and the staff was not very friendly. We also had to wait way too long until we could order. It's a nice restaurant but nothing super special.

It has become a tradition each time I arrive in Verbier, to stop at the Au Vieux Verbier, still with suitcase in tow, for at least a glass of bubbles. If we time it right, whoever aong our group arrives first can be spotted sitting outside from the incoming gondola/telecabine and put a quick order in with the friendly staff. Of course during the stay in Verbier, another tradition is to have an excellent cheese fondue (they even have single portions if alone), though there's always something very tempting on the specials list, too.

Great food and service. We order the potence with really good meat. French fries and sauces are excellent. The service was splendid and quick even the restaurant was full. The dessert is really good too. Strongly recommended for meat lovers.

Nestled in the heart of the Swiss Alps, THE OMNIA is a luxurious mountain retreat that seamlessly blends boutique charm with top-notch amenities. Perched on a rock 1650 meters above sea level, it offers breathtaking panoramic views of Zermatt and the surrounding mountains. The hotel provides personalized yet informal service for a tranquil escape, featuring an exclusive wellness center with premium treatments and products.
Exceptional. My father and I stayed in this hotel as we were preparing for Matterhorn. The amenities are good, the location is superb, the restaurant is awesome (the burger…). However what makes it such a good hotel are the members of staff – Andre, Helena, Lin, Tania and the rest of the team were helpful, friendly and caring. After a successful summit my father and I discovered Matterhorn-shaped chocolates in our rooms – great touch. One of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. 10/10.

Even two years later, we still talk about our stay at The Omnia as one of the most spectacular hotel experiences we’ve ever had. From the breathtaking views of the Matterhorn to the seamless service and warm hospitality, every detail was exceptional. The property is stunning, the atmosphere serene, and the staff made us feel genuinely valued as guests. Nina and Bianchi treated us like family, even giving us a tour of the property before personally escorting us to our room. We continue to recommend The Omnia to friends and family, and we can’t wait to return. It’s truly a place that stays with you long after you’ve left.

Hands down one of the best hotel experiences I have had, everything from start to finish was exceptional. Thank you for making my time in Zermatt so memorable. The hotel is stunning, with beautiful facilities matched with incredible views. I enjoyed my coffee every morning on the balcony soaking it all in. The staff were so kind and helpful which made my stay even more amazing. They helped me plan my hiking activities and even arranged a doctors appointment for me when I was unwell. I truly appreciate your hospitality, especially as a solo traveler. I look forward to coming back again one day!

easily one of the best hotel experiences i’ve ever had! as soon as you arrive in zermatt, you are greeted by the friendly driver who helps you with bags and takes you to the hotel. the staff then whisked us away to the terrace for a drink to take in the views before heading to the room. every single detail is thoughtfully planned, including chocolates and other delightful touches to the room during the stay. the pool and steam rooms are wonderful and the breakfast selection is extensive. we were here on our honeymoon and couldn’t have chosen a better place to help us celebrate.

I have stayed in many luxury hotels in the world including Four Seasons and Mandarin Oriental. However, this hotel the Omnia was the BEST stay ever. Attention to detail in beautiful design (architecture, furnishings, even the soap dish which looks like TBM- Tunnel Boring Machine- and attentive service were totally exceptional. Now I am staying at Park Hyatt Zürich and it looks so ugly compared to the Omnia. They (Park Hyatt Zurich) don’t have any fundamental philosophy about creating a space. At the Omnia, I made a last minute appointment for the spa, and they made it happen. Phillip noticed I was near the lobby and he ran to tell me the appointment was actually created. Pool and spa area were gorgeous and relaxing. The library with the fireplace was a nice touch. Their collections of art books was better than New York public library. Thank you for letting me have the opportunity to stay there.

Our stay at The Omnia was honestly one of the best hotel experiences we’ve had. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel completely at home, warm, attentive, and genuine in a way that’s rare to find. The location couldn’t be better, with stunning views and easy access to everything in Zermatt. The rooms were stylish and comfortable, and I have to mention the shower pressure, absolutely amazing, which was such a treat after a long day out. Breakfast was another highlight. Sandra, who looked after us most mornings, was fantastic. We’re vegetarian, and she went out of her way to make sure we had plenty of good options, always with a smile and great attention to detail. All in all, The Omnia combines everything you’d want in a stay, great service, comfort, and an unbeatable setting. We left with wonderful memories and would come back in a heartbeat.

The Schaferstube is a popular eatery located near the nursery slope in Saas-Fee, Switzerland. This traditional and warm restaurant offers an array of authentic Swiss dishes like rosti and bratwurst. Patrons can enjoy a delightful dining experience as they are greeted by friendly staff members, who also share interesting tidbits about the building's history. The food at this establishment is both flavorful and well-balanced, with an appealing combination of tastes and textures.
A fantastic restaurant! We were delighted to have our Christmas dinner here. The food was delicious and satisfying. The atmosphere and service were excellent. We'll definitely be returning. Highly recommended!

Six of us grabbed lunch here. You need to walk to the start of the hiking trail, the mountain view makes it totally worth it. Once you see the church, head up the hill—it’s a clear sign you're getting close to the restaurant. I had my meal on the terrace, though the inside of the restaurant is really cute too. We enjoyed homemade rösti (which I loved because it reminded me of a Korean potato dish), along with cordon bleu, sausages, a pulled pork burger, and fish and chips. I tried a little bit of everything: the burger and fish and chips were both great, the cordon bleu was a tad salty but worked fine with the veggies, and the sausages were a bit too meaty—maybe a side salad would have helped. Overall, the food was fantastic, and I'd say this is one of the best restaurants in Saas-Fee.

Excellent Food & atmosphere. The most delicate restaurant in Saas-Fee combining top ingredients with locally inspired products like flowers and handpicked herbs from the mountain. The view from the terrace is impeccable: 180°sunny glaciers and 4000-er peaks extend straight from the terrace. A cozy but stylish interior reflect the drive from charming Simone to create the best scene for Chef Daniel’s cuisine.

Schäferstube is situated at the higher residential district of Saas Fee, close to the top of the button lift from Felskin area. From the high street turn up the hill at the church and keep walking up (Slowly!). Trust me. Worth the effort. The restaurant layout is very traditional wooden cabin with various small rooms and tables. The kitchen is so close to the tables you can smell the food as its being prepared. For main course, i had the Sea Bass and Scallop which was a generous enough size but beautifully cooked. The dish is prepared with Celery, Sticky Rice and a fruity bisque. My guests ordered the Rib Eye which was generous (Approx 200-300g). Both dishes priced at CHF44 & CHF 49 respectively. For dessert, the Valhrona Chocolate cake and mousse was particularly popular at the table. Light delicate and rich and at CHF17 the Valhrona was sublime and good value. We drank a bottle of Vinum Lignum CabernetFranc 2022 which was excellent, both with the fish and steak. Overall, very classy, good value (for Switzerland and Skiing regions generally), very friendly and informative service. Would highly recommend to any "foodie". They also serve a set menu which looks fantastic. Looking forward to returning again.

At times one wonders whether certain young restaurateurs have mistaken hospitality for theatre — the kind in which the paying guests are cast as potential criminals. Such was the spectacle at the recent Genussmeile, where a particular proprietress, scarcely out of her youth, decided to publicly insinuate that we — her loyal patrons — might be plotting to steal her wine glasses 😱. The absurdity would be comic, were it not so vulgar. Our family and friends have dined at her establishments on numerous occasions, each time parting with several hundred Swiss Francs for two, and doing so gladly. To imagine that those who have repeatedly demonstrated both loyalty and means would be reduced to pilfering her rather unremarkable glassware, is the kind of leap in judgement one expects from gossip at a village market, not from the supposed custodian of fine dining. Her manner of service is equally theatrical: smiles and deference bestowed only upon those who fling money conspicuously, while others are treated with little more than suspicion. Whether she recognises her guests or not is immaterial — what is unforgivable is her readiness to substitute grace with arrogance, and courtesy with insult. One is tempted to conclude that the only thing more fragile than her wine glasses is her understanding of true hospitality. For the discerning diner, there are far finer establishments in Switzerland where respect does not come with a price tag. This one, we recommend avoiding altogether. Photos : Nostalgische Genussmeile 07 Sep 2025 in Saas Fee when this rude uneducated young lady insulted us 🤷‍♀️

We went for dinner and the whole thing was great! Simone explained some of the history of the building when we arrived and she and the other waitress were super friendly. On top of that the food was very tasty - great balance of flavours and textures. Highly recommended. Edit: We went back for lunch 2 days later. The food was still good, but there is also a small lunch menu that is a little more casual. The staff remembered us and our plans for the weekend and inquired how it all went, what a nice feeling.

Went back again feb 2020 and very disappointing. It’s slimmed the menu and gone super fancy with small expensive portions. They charged 8chf for 2 kinder syrup with kids meals! The kids schnitzels were too over cooked and chewy. Service could not be faulted though, definitely high end. Loved that they used my name. Sister restaurant Waldhaus bodman is so much better for families and the food has bigger portions with better accompaniments! But if you are looking for fancy multi course expensive meal come here. Road up was super icy so be careful on the way down or order a taxi.

"Le Fer á Cheval" is a traditional European cafe located in the heart of Verbier Switzerland serving from 11:00 to 22:00, with a traditional dinner menu starting at 18:30. Serving many pallets, Le Fer á Cheval offeres a wide variety of Pizzas derived from many worldwide cuisines as well; with a variety of wine, beer, and other spirits alongside several nonalcoholic bottled beverages, and soft drinks. To start I ordered the "Tartine de chèvre chaufa miel, confit de figure, salade". This consisted of a lightly toasted large slice of sourdough bread, topped with dollops of warm, mild goat cheese, dried apricots, a fig slice, a halved date, and picked raddish. All this, drizzled in honey. Accompanied with a salad consisting of semi-bitter greens, and the toast's soft consistency, this dish is best eaten with a fork and knife. For my entreé I ordered a pizza topped with Ham, Mushroom, and shredded basil. Served uncut as you are  provided with a fork and steak knife, it is somewhat difficult to cut through the crust, and copious amounts of cheese, which has a fair amount of grease. Overall, it has a nice casual ambiance and the service is relatively quick.

Our favorite place in verbier we went there three times in one week. Everything on the menus was very good. But the following are things you must try. 1.Pulled Pork Burger 2.Pizza (anyone they are all amazing) 3.The beef Tartare (definitely one of the best you will ever have) 4. The dining experience at this establishment was truly exceptional. The ambiance provided a warm and welcoming atmosphere, contributing to a comfortable and enjoyable meal. The chicken supreme dish stood out with its remarkable flavor profile, boasting a rich and flavorful sauce complemented by the addition of pumpkin purée. Despite being generously coated in sauce, the chicken retained a distinct charcoal flavor, adding depth to each bite. Furthermore, the creme brulee served as a highlight of the meal, delivering an unparalleled culinary delight. Its creamy texture and perfectly caramelized sugar topping made it one of the finest renditions of creme brulee experienced. Overall, the combination of delectable dishes and inviting ambiance made for an unforgettable dining experience, highly deserving of praise.

We came to eat with my friend. we had to ask for the menu ourselves and collect it from the bar. we then asked twice for water that never came. we waited 20mn and tried getting someone attention for ordering, literally ignored. we left, we really didn't feel as anyone wanted to serve us there. we didn't feel welcomed at all, being from the Caribbean and the middle east, we unfortunately questioned why others were served but not us. So we went to Barselino pizza place and had an amazing evening there instead.

We are sorry to say that we did not find this experience in any way special. The meals are good, but not a stand out. We probably liked dessert the most and we do not have a sweet tooth. This place has the most incredible pizza dipping sauce! We ordered pumpkin soup to start out and it was very flavorful with the perfect amount of seasoning. They have a plethora of vegetarian options and can also do gluten free if asked. The stuffed tortellini with mushroom cream sauce was flavorful without being heavy. The Doc pizza, which had tomato, basil & mozzarella, had perfectly crispy edges and was served with a smokey chili sauce. Believe me when I say you'll want to put that sauce on everything. The meal with finished with a panna cotta surrounded by a moat of sauce made with berries, and an apricot sorbet bathed in an apricot schnapps. Enjoyed our meal so much that we came back the next day and ordered The Doc to go with a side salad.

Superb superb food. Nice relaxing decor. Friendly staff and comfortable homey environment for dining. This restaurant is not located in the main road and probably can be missed if you were not looking for it. Which is a shame because I totally enjoyed my meal here. We started out with the usual bread with a piece of Matterhorn shaped butter. It was a good introduction to the food to come. The Spaghetti Hummer (lobster) had a creamy thick and seafood flavour packed gravy with delicious pieces of well cooked lobster meat. The fish looks deceptively simple. Fresh meat, great searing of skin, mashed silky pumpkin with nuts scattered at bottom, the differences and combination of texture was a superb play on the palate. Entrecote Black Angus was incredibly delicious and well flavoured. Tender juicy meat. I especially loved the layered potato that came with it. Combined with the meat, it was incredible. As for the Tagliata di Manzo, another lovely sliced beef dish. Served on a bed of fresh salad, I found it refreshing and not being a heavy dish, enjoyable to eat. Finally, Tiramisu. I have never seen tiramisu presented like this. Partially deconstructed, components combined in an eye pleasing manner, it was a perfect end to a delicious meal. If I ever visit around here, I would definitely drop by for another meal.

This is the best meal I have ever had in Switzerland. Each dish was extremely delicate, with perfectly balanced flavors. The ravioli was fantastic, and the lobster ravioli was fresh and sweet, complemented by a rich broth. The ginger and lemongrass sauce with scallops was a stroke of genius. The lamb and Brazilian risotto were also authentic and delicious. The dessert was flawless, truly impeccable.

Adler Hitta is a mountain restaurant located on Findeln, offering indoor seating and an outdoor terrace with stunning views of the Matterhorn. Skiers can easily access it from the Sunegga Express, while non-skiers have the option to hike from there. The restaurant is known for its specialty whole chicken and rotisserie dishes. While it may be considered less glamorous than some neighboring competitors, it offers a cozy mountain hut atmosphere and delicious food.
It lived up to it’s stellar reputation. We had a spectacular meal while basking in the sun and admiring the Matterhorn. A big thank you to the maitre d’ for helping us tape together the remnants of my wife’s ski boot. 4.9

Talk about having a great culinary experience on the slopes! I had veal cheeks. My friends had the small chicken and the stroganoff chicken. The veal cheeks were just amazing 🤩

We had a very nice lunch at Adler Hitta after doing the 5 lakes hike. We didn't have a reservation and were able to get in just fine. The food was excellent and it was fun to eat while looking at the gorgeous views. And they were kind enough to adapt a dish to make it vegetarian for me. Would recommend!

Highly recommend this restaurant! The food is amazing. My favorite dishes are beef tartar and green salad with tiger prawns. Tiger prawns are very big and fresh! The staff recommended mixing Italian and French dressings and we loved it! The view is very stunning and the staff are also very friendly and service-minded. My aunt hurt her ankle on the way to the restaurant and the owner was so kind to us. She offered the ice pack and drove us to a cable station! 😍🙏🏼

Loved this place - book for a nice lunch outside, or if you can't get a booking they do have some tables and barrels to sit on near their outdoor bar which is fine as long as it's not to cold outside. DJ outside playing some tunes some days. Great party atmosphere.

Beautiful restaurant with an incredible view of the Matterhorn. Service was good and food was great! We had the raclette, salad and soup. A nice reward after the hike up to Sunnegga.

Excellent experience - we hiked to the restaurant and it was lovely. Great view and amazing food - would recommend the spaetzli. Our server was lovely and I would recommend this place to anyone around the area looking for somewhere for lunch or dinner.

We discovered this place, that happens to be a ski in and out place, in this trip and we loved the quality of the food and the friendly service. Those of us who know Switzerland 🇨🇭 understand that it is not guaranteed to be served with a good disposición! 😉 but this place had great food 😋 and it was lovely all around! I wholeheartedly recommend it.
