Boulangerie Taillens has recently undergone a delightful renovation, transforming its space in Crans-Montana into a modern yet inviting haven for food lovers. This charming bakery offers an impressive array of artisan breads, pastries, and viennoiseries that beautifully blend traditional techniques with contemporary flair. Guests can savor the rich flavors of homemade hot chocolate served with a unique chocolate spoon or indulge in delectable treats like pistachio-chocolate pastries and freshly baked croissants.
We stopped by Boulangerie Taillens for breakfast since it was the only café open around 10 a.m. The food was tasty, and the service friendly, with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Prices are on the higher side, but that’s quite normal for Crans-Montana. The bakery itself is beautiful, and I would definitely return to try more of their pastries.
Daryna P — Google review
Chai latte very delicately prepared and served . We had a lovely time here . Order and bur pastries, take your seat then order your tea
Jerome G — Google review
Very disappointing experience. We walked in excited to try some pastries, but the service was extremely unpleasant. The young woman addressed us in French and when we asked to switch to English her attitude was rude and dismissive - eyerolling and making annoyed faces. I've honestly never experienced anything like that. I ordered a cream puff that looked beautiful, but it was overwhelmingly sweet - all I could taste was sugar - and the pastry itself didn't feel fresh at all. Such a shame.
Polina Z — Google review
Loved the homemade hot chocolate (nicely thick) with the chocolate spoon! The ambiance was cosy and the bakery next door also has delicious pastries ! From the quiche to the croissants 🤩
Alessandra C — Google review
Excellent best place to have breakfast or brunch. Amazing pastries and delicious bakery Club Sandwich Amazing Pancakes are brilliant
Hattan B — Google review
Good cappuccino and pastries (we had a pistachio/chocolate pastry--really good). We sat outdoors since the weather was nice. They accept cash, card, speak English, and dogs are allowed.
Farisha J — Google review
My favorite Taillens in Crans-Montana. Can be very busy but the food, service and the hygen worth visiting. I just hope they add more variety of gluten free food and desserts.
Emine K — Google review
The waiter was unfriendly and a bit mocking when he realized we didn’t speak French. He claimed he spoke perfect English — and then brought the wrong size of tea than what we ordered :) We decided not to order anything else and left. It’s a place for locals, and the experience was unpleasant. The carrot cake was dry.

Bakery
The bakery Bäckerei Bistro Fuchs is a great place to get delicious food and drinks. The menu has a wide selection of breads, sweets and drinks, all of which are made with care. The bakery is located in a charming bistro, perfect for a breakfast or lunch break.
Lovely café/bakery. Very good croissants and spinach quiche in particular! Coffee is also good. Not that much space for seating, therefore it gets busy at lunch time and feels a little tight. Friendly staff. My only qualm was the price for the hot chocolate for the quantity you receive, which is very little
A T — Google review
Had one of the best hot chocolates at Fuchs in Zermatt — rich, velvety, and just what you need in the Alps. Also tried their coffee, which was pretty good too. Couldn’t leave without picking up their famous Bergführerbrot cake — dense, nutty, and perfect with a warm drink. Definitely a sweet stop worth making!
Phalguni — Google review
This is a lovely spot for a coffee and cake. The quality of the food is really good, especially the sweet buns. I must admit that I’m not a big fan of the breakfast sets there; in my opinion, they’re overpriced, don’t include much food and drinks are very small sized. The service is always pleasant, and the atmosphere is great, especially in the morning. Cool!
Leona B — Google review
We’ve been to this bakery twice during our trip, and besides their delicious Matterhorn-shaped chocolate, they also have some really comforting food.
Bosco L — Google review
Great stop for breakfast before heading up to the Matterhorn. Great bread offerings and was fresh!! Will come again tomorrow for breakfast
Brett W — Google review
I visited this bakery with friends in April, for their high rating and close proximity to Zermama Hotel. Unfortunately, we were met with unpleasant and passive reception. The most uncomfortable experience was that one of the staff (with darker hair color) gave a sarcastic mocking gesture that the premises charge patron for requesting additional plate. We felt as though not welcome (discriminate), as it doesn't seems to happen to other tables (local speaking, Europeans). Our enquiries were met with sneer and absense of reply/attention. Eventually the vibes just became growingly disgruntled and we left with a bad taste in the mouth. I must say that not all staff were rude. There was this hardworking lady (curly blonde) trying her best to manage front counter to the kitchen/pantry at the back. She had been the only person there trying her best in attending to our needs, mostly in apologetic ways. Perhaps this bakery could not handle culture diversity and group travellers. However, I wish you all the best in training your waitresses up to the mark, as Switzerland is (after all decades) praised for its high standard in hospitality management. Unless things changed, I would not recommend this place to fellow foreign travellers.
M F — Google review
The quiche was delicious. Friendly lady serving in front is quite efficient.
Richard M — Google review
Got a pretzel that seemed old. It was hard. Also have the hummus avocado sandwich, which was not very good. Had the hotdog in a croissant which is a bit on the greasy side. I would not order these items again. Service was very good. They had lots of things in there that looked good.

Fuchs Bakery & Bistro in Zermatt is set to introduce new and exciting additions to its menu, catering to the increasing demand for diverse culinary experiences. The bakery is expanding its offerings to include delicious vegan and gluten-free products while maintaining a focus on regional and natural ingredients. Additionally, the cafe menu will feature new dishes, promising an exciting dining experience for visitors.
Stumbled upon this lovely place and there was a queue. It was one of their busiest timings but we were seated within 5 minutes! The staff were all so so lovely, attentive and we felt very welcomed and happy to be here! The food is delicious, one of the best quiche and apple strudel i’ve eaten so far! The food was served very quickly too! Would highly recommend everyone to drop by!
B. — Google review
I was there around 10 am Sat, a lady serving customers were rude. She raised her voice when I asked a same question twice because I did not understand her well. All the 3 I bought was very average. I strongly recommend to go to the bakery “Backzeit” there are two locations near by. They are far better in terms of quality & service.
Daisy M — Google review
We both thought this was the best place we went to for food/snacks/treats in Zermatt. Lovely atomosphere, really nice staff and the chocolate ganache cake was THE best ganache cake we have ever had. Loads to choose from and a great atomosphere. Only grumble would be that it is a cafe/cake shop with chocolate so the Hot Chocolate should be a bona fide made before it hits the table hot chocolate, not another cup of hot milk with a sachet of powdered instant hot chocolate poured on top of the milk
David B — Google review
We tried this location this morning for the famous apple strudel. While it was good, I do feel it was overrated. The bakery, however, is lovely and has other delicious food and treats.
Finicky F — Google review
We stopped at this bakery and coffee shop and it was a pleasant experience! It's right in tourist central on the main street of Zermatt. Upstairs is a seating area with a second display of cakes and pastries. Restrooms are on the same level. The staff is friendly and professional. They speak quite well English and are willing to accommodate every single guest. They also take pictures of you if asked.
Emmi P — Google review
Gorgeous food and baked goods. Coffee is delicious. Service is prompt and professional.
Helen M — Google review
Delicious breakfast, coffee and desserts Very kind staff
Alexandru C — Google review
The food looks exquisite and there are many options, but the staff’s attitude is very poor. In the morning, I went to buy some bread with my dog. I told the saleswoman what I wanted, but she didn’t take the bread for me—instead, she told me that dogs are not allowed here, in a rather dismissive and unfriendly way. There’s another branch of the same bakery in town, and I’ve never had any problems buying bread there with my dog. I’ve also seen other people bring their dogs. It seems that this particular saleswoman was being discriminatory.

Bäckerei Fuchs is a family-run bakery located in Zermatt since 1965, known for its specialty Kleinmatterhornli, chocolate replicas of the famous peak. The bakery also offers Swiss delights such as Birnenbrot, Nusstorte, and Bergfuhrerbrot. This award-winning sweet bread contains fresh apples, figs, and a little Schnapps.
I love the grand staple bread! I can taste that the yeast is very good... That's amazing with butter to eat as a breakfast... Really love it
Clarissa H — Google review
Service was warm to us and our little one, offering additional cutlery before we asked. The blueberry tart was light and delightful, and the cold cuts + cheese with the medium breakfast set were good. The hot chocolate that came with the breakfast set was very substantial - it came in a metal jug.
Mag — Google review
Below average chocolate to say the least. They might say it's being sourced from the best regions where they pay the workers adequately but it certainly is a lie. The chocolate itself is full of sugar and has a significant lack of taste. I have had better ones at a 24/7 shop across the corner. Don't bother buying anything from them.
Rusen G — Google review
If you’re in Zermatt, you have to try the famous Bergführerbrot (Mountain Guide Bread) from Bäckerei Fuchs. This dense, nutty, slightly sweet bread is filled with dried fruits and nuts. It was originally made to fuel mountain guides during alpine climbs! It’s rich, chewy, and full of flavor, making it perfect for hiking or exploring the town. The packaging and the Edward Whymper display outside the shop add a fun historical touch. You’ll find it front and center in the window, and for good reason. Definitely pick one up while you’re in Zermatt. It’s not just a snack, it’s a bite of local tradition.
Nancy A — Google review
Nice place to take a break and enjoy a piece of cake and coffee. If the waitress would give us a smile before tipping, would even be better.
J K — Google review
This was our daily coffee shop for our Zermatt visit. The signature little bread cake thing is pretty good, Bergfuhrerbrot. I'd make those for breakfast anytime. The bread for the sandwiches were really good too. I brought the little matterhorn chocolates home for gifts.
Brock G — Google review
Love this bakerie,it has a big variety of both sweet and salty staff! Always fresh and always tasty !
Marianna S — Google review
We had a very bad experience in a bakery after a long time. Fuchs bakery in Zermatt had the rudest staff, as if they are doing a favor selling their products! This is on top of very basic quality of food- the spinach quiche was bad tasting, the bread was ok ok and coffee was machine made and tasted very basic for the proce they charge. Overall quite a pathetic and forgettable experience!

If you're in Martigny, make sure to stop by Boulangerie Tramway d'Octodure for a delightful morning experience. The coffee is exceptional, making it a fantastic spot to kickstart your day. The warm and welcoming staff add to the inviting atmosphere, ensuring you feel right at home even if your French isn't quite up to par.
Opens early and serves some great pasties and quiche. Coffee is excellent, highly recommend this place to start your morning and the ladies who work there are super friendly…even though my French is terrible 😄

Coffee from a machine?!?!?!? Pastries and bakery goods are super fresh, but coffee is almost ‘instant coffee’ quality level. Comes from a machine, and is in powder form... not fresh brewed. It’s what you’d expect to find in an airline lounge, basically dispenser coffee.... not fresh brewed.

Nestled in the charming town of Martigny, Boulangerie Michellod is a delightful pastry shop that promises an unforgettable experience for all dessert lovers. With its cozy ambiance and friendly staff, it’s the perfect spot to indulge in delectable treats without breaking the bank. Their breakfast menu, priced at just 9.90 francs, offers a satisfying start to your day.
If you enjoy a good rum truffle, this place is like a pilgrimage site. The perfect ganache has a rum-soaked raisin in the middle. Life-changing. Michellod pralines really put the industrial-scale Swiss chocolate brands to shame. The coffee is great too, and the team behind the counter had good banter despite us having no common language. I'd go back to Martigny just for this place.

(Translated by Google) I waited 20 minutes on the terrace...yes, it was busy, but there were only three staff members. When I finally wanted to order an iced coffee, she told me I had to go inside. Inside, I waited another 10 minutes until an older lady took my order, an iced coffee as printed on the menu. I got a latte macchiato...when I told this younger lady I'd ordered an iced coffee, she said, "They don't serve that here?" I showed her the menu, and she said it was definitely wrong...I walked out of the shop after almost 45 minutes, annoyed by such incompetence, and I'll steer clear of that place in the future. This was a v welcome mid morning break. Delicious choice of cakes. My husband had an almond croissant and my daughter, a raspberry mousse cake. Both very tasty and fresh. Staff were lovely too. My hot chocolate was fabulous. One of the best I've tasted (and I do like a hot chocolate 😆)! I definitely recommend it for a stop off after the 9km blue run round the back of Les Crosets to Morgins! The staff were kind, helpful and welcoming.

Morgins' very own bakery & tea saloon offers a fair selection of pastries and sandwiches served by friendly staff. 🥖 🍰 🥪 The dine-in vs take-away policy was a bit particular as I had to pay for my tuna sandwich at the counter but had to order and pay for my tonic drink separately at a table just a few meters away. Could this be due to two different cash registers? 🤔 Otherwise, the spot is certainly a place of choice when craving a quick snack in Morgins.

We’ve been buying bread here for the past ten years. My children often have breakfast or a snack and we’re always warmly welcomed, the employees are kind and put an effort communicating with us despite us speaking little French.

This once was a great tea-room, but the quality has gone down considerably in the last few years ! The croissants are industrial, dry and tasteless. Today the ham sandwich was leftover from Friday or at best yesterday, and the meat was brown around the edges, and dried out; when I complained to the manager, she didn’t apologize, but just returned my money without a word or even a glance. I them decided to tell her about the salad I bought last weekend which wasn’t edible because the eggs were rotten...once again, not a question, not a word, no excuses. I find that inexcusable!! Stay away, there are other options than Taillens!!

Bakery Gaillard & Fils SA is an adorable establishment bustling with community members. It offers delectable cuisine, refreshing drinks, and enticing sweet treats, all at affordable prices compared to the usual Swiss standards. The highlight of this charming bakery is the delightful surprise of their sipping chocolate. However, it's important to note that they do not accept credit or debit cards as payment methods.
Cute shop that seemed to be full of locals. Great food, beverages and delicious looking desserts all for relatively cheap, by Swiss standards! The sipping chocolate was a pleasant surprise.

(Translated by Google) Excellent pastries, very friendly and smiling young waitress. But at the bistro what an unpleasant welcome…! A relatively elderly waitress with short gray hair and glasses wanted to take our order without even looking at us, smiling at us or saying hello. When I asked for a grenadine syrup, I was stared at. We really had the impression of disturbing her... for this reason I recommend the pastries but not the bistro...! (Translated by Google) A walk after lunch is always welcome. Since many restaurants and cafes are closed in the off-season, there is a quiet and holiday atmosphere. It was open here, there weren't many customers, so I decided to take a coffee break and was offered an apple tart. Tastes like home, with very little sugar and weak coffee. Several ladies wanted to move a refrigerator, one tripped and fell as far as she was on the sidewalk. I rushed to help, but the ladies were in a good mood. I picked up her glasses from the asphalt and I was actually thinking that I was more scared than she was... I didn't drink coffee with surprises anymore. Anyway, it was already time to move on... I wish a beautiful autumn to those who toil for us... Casa Lusitânia is a charming and budget-friendly cafe located in Zermatt. Visitors can enjoy a variety of delectable treats such as Portuguese tarts, soups, sandwiches, and freshly baked pastries at very reasonable prices. The cafe offers an inviting atmosphere for breakfast, lunch, or afternoon coffee. Guests praise the delicious homemade bread and sandwiches as well as the quality coffee served at this cozy establishment.
Delicious, friendly and AFFORDABLE cafe in Zermatt. We stopped for coffee, stayed for a Portuguese tart and ended up having soup and sandwiches and takeaway tarts and pastries all for the price of one meal on the mountain (26 CHF). Beautiful fresh bread and pastries, delicious soup, tasty coffee and the best Portuguese tart I’ve had outside Portugual! Great cheap and tasty cafe. Pork knuckle looked amazing but didn’t have it.

The Pata de Veado was phenomenal. I had to search what it was but it’s basically a Swiss style roll shaped like a deer hoof fill with a Portuguese cream and crusted with coconut. Moist, flavorful, delicious. The croissant was subpar. Perhaps I ordered it wrong but it seemed dry. Coffee was good for the area although not third wave specialty of course. The environment is bustling. Seems like a quick breakfast stop for construction workers and less of a pleasant cafe to sit and relax. For a coffee shop feel there are better options. Over pretty good and reasonable prices.

I normally buy grape flour pastries here. But recently, the bakery has started to offer a take away menu once a week - always on Tuesdays. Today I decided to try. The take away menu includes a salad, main course and dessert. All for CHF 17.- I must say that the burger was really tasty as well as the roasted potatoes. Unfortunately, nowhere was a notification about, that the salad and cocoa biscuit contain nuts. This wasn't communicated to me when I took the menu either. However, as an allergy sufferer, this is vital information for me! Because of this, I deduct one star from the rating.

Bakery pastry Bumann AG is a delightful spot that captures the essence of Swiss baked goods. Even during challenging times, this charming establishment remains open for takeout, allowing visitors to indulge in their exquisite offerings. The window display showcases an array of tempting pralines, and I couldn't resist picking up a box of 12 homemade chocolates for around $20—each piece uniquely crafted and bursting with flavor. Their breakfast options are equally impressive, making it the first place to start your day right.
Delicious Swiss baked goods. Friendly staff, fast service, reasonable price

Walked by this place and liked the look of the Pralinés displayed in their window. During Corona times this place is still open - at least the shop and for take away. The Café to sit down is closed right now. We got a nice box of homemade chocolates for about 20 bucks. For that price we got 12 pieces. Ate them the within two days. And good news: Quality was very good. Every Praliné different. Even the one with Schnaps and a cherry inside was tasty (sorry, but the "Mon Cherie" brand Pralines aren't that good). Good quality chocolate, nice presentation, made with love you could say. Worth the price, surely a place we would check some other products out on our next visit.

Very bad service, unfriendly lady at the counter. The early morning bakery products were not fresh either. The taste wasn’t good. Avoid if possible.

Extremely unfriendly service. We asked what exactly is this and salesperson said, it’s written over there. Nothing was written over there. They should understand that not everyone is local and may not understand local language.

Unhelpful and unfriendly service by the saleswoman. Also, baked goods in the refrigerated display are not fresh and stale.

(Translated by Google) super great products, very, very good price-performance ratio, parking possible directly in front of the shop, shopping can easily be combined with a very good cheese dairy next door (unfortunately this one has slightly more limited opening hours), and... the most personable, nicest, most competent bakery saleswoman in Switzerland works here! Who always takes time for you, who can never be disturbed when there are people jostling behind you... But actually everyone here is really nice and absolutely great. Really 1A, top league. We drove there not only from Ergisch Obermatten, but also from Zeneggen, no comparison with the bakeries in Visp etc. - it's worth it. If we're anywhere near again, we'll come back! I had high hopes for this café/bakery, but unfortunately, my experience was far from enjoyable. The service was incredibly slow, despite the café being nearly empty. The staff seemed more interested in chatting with each other than helping customers. The cakes I ordered were not fresh, and the coffee tasted burnt. To make matters worse, the café itself was not very clean—there were crumbs on the tables, and the floor looked like it hadn’t been swept in a while. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience. Additionally, they only accept cash payments, which was inconvenient. There are much better places to spend your time and money. I won’t be coming back.

(Translated by Google) Discovered today via too good to go and what a discovery!!! Favorite for the super friendly, accommodating and generous saleswoman!!! The contents of my basket being much higher than normal, I wanted to buy a loaf of bread but she offered it to me!! So I bought a slice of prune tart. I will come back!! If I lived in the area, this would be my bakery of choice! (Original) Découvert aujourd'hui via too good to go et quelle découverte !!!

(Translated by Google) How can you miss such a welcoming tea room? A welcome that makes you want, choice, products that have taste and originality, all with a good friendly atmosphere where life is good. Syrups, breads, pastries, hot drinks I was not disappointed by a single item and I was even able to discover some. I recommend! Their negative points have escaped me until now. Keep it up !

The tea house Le Carillon in Grimisuat offers a wide range of delicious products. The menu, which can be found in the photos section, includes a variety of dishes and beverages. This charming establishment has a welcoming atmosphere and friendly owner. They also have a spacious terrace where visitors can relax and enjoy their drinks and food. One of the highlights is their addictive Valais rye bread, along with an excellent prune tart that is sure to satisfy any sweet tooth.
Had some delicious pastries and really taste peach tea. Lady behind the counter was very helpful.

(Translated by Google) I'm not in the habit of leaving comments (even less negative) but we really miss the old Carillon and its welcoming boss. Since Le Grini was established, the service is much less friendly (some waitresses are downright rude) and children are no longer welcome at all (no more games on site, not even the cabin on the terrace and if you kindly ask for a straw and you are told: come and get it yourself!). Too sad for a “family” village.
