Amanto - Comida Sagrada is a hidden gem in Ollantaytambo, offering exceptional Andean cuisine with a creative twist. The restaurant provides a lovely view of the town from its upstairs seating area and serves beautifully presented dishes such as Andean Shrimp, Trout, Cuy, and bomba chocolate. The staff are friendly and attentive, adding to the overall dining experience. With affordable prices and generous portions, this restaurant stands out for its outstanding value.
This restaurant is an absolute 5 stars! The place charmed me with its lovely interior, welcoming staff, and amazing food.
The presentation of the dishes is on par with fancy restaurants: each dish comes with its own unique plate and decorative style. The taste is also top-notch—everything we tried was fantastic, bursting with rich flavor combinations. I highly recommend the Ceviche Tower (their signature dish). Its presentation was also quite creative!
Improvement points: the service was a bit slow, we were waiting for our dessert for ages. Also, cinnamon cake we tried didn’t taste that special.
But I still recommend this place, it’s awesome!

Second night in a row. This first class restaurant in Ollantaytambo is a wonderful dining experience. We had lamb and Alpaca (never tried before). Everything was delicious. Liz’s service was very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.
This is a must try restaurant in Ollyantambo. For a small town, we didn’t think we would find such an impeccable meal. We actually came here for the second time to try other items on their menu. They do a fantastic job with combining flavours and their presentation. Price is reasonable as well.
We had a wonderful experience at Amanto! To start with, the atmosphere is nice and cozy. The food is truly amazing, well-presented and with a lot of flavour. I recommend you trying the trout, you will not be disappointed. A special mention to Liz's service, thank you!
michelin star worthy food for 1/10th the price 🤯 portions are small but they are more than fairly priced and you will want to try the whole menu anyways! great cocktails too, especially the signature list. we got the amor prohibido to drink and the tiradito de aplaca and andean shrimp to eat. wish we could have tried more!
Loved everything about this place! The food, the aesthetic, the service. After eating at different places in Ollantaytambo for the past 2 weeks I can honestly say this restaurant takes first place I ordered the amanto salad and causa acevichada with chicha morada and everything was excellent, the flavor and presentation were a culinary experience. They also give you complimentary Andean potato’s before your meal. I’ll be back!!
Stunning food presentation! Lovely ambience. Server was a really sweet lady (Flor). Location is convenient. The complementary appetizer was very flavorful but the main dishes we ordered did not meet the expectations that were set for us by all the other reviews.
My Main course was exceptional, I had the alpaca in pepper sauce, meat was flavourful and cooked perfect 10/10.
My partner had the lamb and potato which was good not great.

El Huacatay is a highly recommended restaurant in Peru, known for its delicious food and magical courtyard dining experience. The outdoor seating area is beautifully decorated, and the attentive servers ensure a delightful dining experience. The menu offers incredible dishes such as trout carpaccio, tuna tataki, and pesto pasta with trout. While the service may be a bit slow at times, it's worth stopping by before heading to Machu Picchu.
Tucked away inside the city is a vegetarian friendly restaurant with indoor, outdoor, & patio seating. It was laid back but each meal delivered in quality & creativeness. The service was super friendly & quick. Would love to try other things on the menu in a future visit!

Andean cuisine cooking class with chef Pio Vasquez prior to our Machu Picchu trip proved to be a most memorable experience. Chef Pio is a bubbly personality obviously passionate about what he does. His food was easily the best meal we had in our weeklong sojourn in Peru.
The atmosphere and service were wonderful. I have mixed feeling about the food though. The complimentary bread with olives and chimichurri was great! As an app I ordered the crispy mushroom empanaditas which I enjoyed but the veggies at the bottom were salty so I couldn’t eat the cheese dip with it bc it was salty also (blue cheese). For main I ordered the vegetable curry which was just ok. They put in a lot of onions as a filler veggie. Why I have mixed feelings about this place was bc it gave me diarrhea :( and I have been eating at many different places around the sacred valley daily for over a month and had no issues.
This place is an absolute gem nestled in the heart of Urubamba. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm hospitality and a tranquil garden ambiance that set the tone for an exceptional dining experience. The menu is a delightful fusion of traditional Peruvian flavors and international influences, executed with creativity and finesse.

Aside from the food being amazingly delicious, I was completely floored by the setting. The restaurant is surrounded by gorgeous trees, creating the most beautiful and serene atmosphere. It was a seriously beautiful dining experience. I highly, highly recommend it.

One of our best meals in Peru. Classics with a twist. The alpaca with a demi glaze and Mediterranean trout were amazing. Carlos, the waiter, provided some of the best service we’ve ever had. He even helped us get a tuk tuk back to our hotel. Lovely atmosphere on their patio, as well.

Such amazing food and service! They were gracious enough to seat us for lunch even though we arrived a couple minutes before they closed. Everyone was so welcoming and kind and the food was so delicious. They also allowed us to explore the grounds even after closing time.

We came here in a Sacred Valley tour provided by Exploor, and we really enjoyed the meal here. In the buffet, the restaurant provided a great selection of appetizers and salad, 5-10 different types of hot dishes and some fruits and desserts, and all the food was pretty good. The ambience was also nice with a great view of the mountains / valley.
The food was good with many options, and the atmosphere is incredible. But the service is not up to standard. They try to be an upscale place, yet do not include water. I asked for a to-go cup for my tea and they said they are only given for coffee. A bit ridiculous and takes from the place’s beauty.

A buffet lunch which gastronomic satisfying foods to choose! Drinks is not included on the $21 payment. Their is a souvenir shop infront sol alpaca(which is a known brand) which also makes it very convenient. They accept credit/debit cards and spacious parking is available. Went to this restaurant at the New Year during Covid-19. The grounds were absolutely lovely-we were lucky enough to have perfect weather which made it all the more enjoyable. Because of the pandemic, it is no-longer buffet style and instead you are brought small helpings of many dishes. I won't say this is my favorite format but I think it worked quite well given the circumstance, we left very full. The variety of dishes was pleasant and I felt it to be one of my favorite culinary experiences while in Peru. Would recommend.
Honestly thought it was a tourist trap. A lot of tour guide appears to bring tourist here for food. However, food was surprising good and the small garden and stream is charming. Service is prompt. Tried a lot of dishes that I would have not otherwise tried. Do note that drinks are not included in the buffet.

Hawa Restaurant, housed within a five-star hotel, boasts a truly breathtaking ambiance. The restaurant's high ceilings, fireplace, and bright, spacious dining room create an impressive setting that stands out in the quaint town of Urubamba.
Food:
The menu offers a blend of local Peruvian cuisine and a touch of European influence. We sampled a Caesar salad and several main courses, including grilled salmon, lamb ribs, and beef cheek with risotto. While all the dishes were tasty, they lacked that memorable quality that would make us crave a return visit. For instance, the chicken in the Caesar salad was dry, and the salmon was slightly overcooked, though still flavorful. My favorite dish was the lamb rack with mashed potatoes – the meat had a rich flavor and was tender and beautifully cooked. Overall, we enjoyed the food, but we expected more from an establishment of this caliber.
Service:
The waiters were fluent in English and provided attentive service akin to high-end restaurants. Everyone was incredibly friendly.
Conclusion:
This is a lovely restaurant, and it is undeniably the best in town. However, the prices reflect the luxurious setting of the five-star hotel, which are significantly higher than average for the city. You get a sophisticated atmosphere, excellent service, beautifully presented dishes, and good flavors, making it worth visiting. Especially if you are celebrating a special occasion.

One of the best meals I’ve had for many years. Superbly curated menu, expertly prepared, faultless and friendly service, and an amazing atmosphere in an elegantly designed interior.
Great vibes, delicious trout and very tasty pisco sours! The appetizers are a bit large, so maybe better for sharing than for individuals. Our server Elvis went above and beyond in making sure we had a great dining experience.
The gnocchi very good, melted in mouth and were very flavorful. The fettuccini a la huancaina with lomo saltado needed more cheese.
Stunning decor, loved the fire place. Overlooking a beautiful garden . Scrumptious food. Attentive staff. Impeccable service. Chill ambience . Thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience for dinner.
Many surprises upon the dining experience, which i did not expect.
We only ordered two main courses. However, it turned out to be a full-on fine dining. We were served special bread, a smoke salmon bitesize starter. Then it comes the two main courses which were fascinating both visually and tastewise. We ordered beef cheek and lamb rack. Finally, they also gave us a collection of chocolate to choose from as dessert treat.

We enjoyed Hawa restaurant for our breakfasts and dinners while staying at the Tambo del Inka. The buffet breakfast is incredible and the fresh soups and salads were exactly what we needed for a light dinner while getting used to the altitude. Most of the produce is local or even coming from the hotel's own garden! The staff is so courteous and kind, we especially enjoyed Wilbert's and Edward's service!

Native Burgers & Salads is a charming and affordable restaurant in Cusco, Peru, offering farm-to-table Peruvian dishes. Tucked away near Plaza des Armas, it provides a welcoming atmosphere for casual lunches and dinners. Customers have praised the delicious burgers, including the alpaca burger, which was surprisingly tender and flavorful. The menu may be small but each dish is cooked to perfection. The simple yet fantastic food makes this place a gem worth visiting while in Cusco.
The host Charley was very pleasant and helpful. He was also the waiter. Small outside seating area and a bit larger inside area. We were seated straight away. A large local market mural brightens a large wall in the main dining area. Service time to food was adequate for freshly prepared food. All the dishes were served in low sided bowls. The four of us enjoyed our reasonably priced individual selections. I highly recommend the SIPAN BRASAS PERUANAS.

If you're staying in the sacred valley, don't pass up a chance to eat here. They have a total of 6 restaurants 2 in the Valley and 4 in Cusco. We ate at 4 of the 6 and all of them were unique and outstanding food and service.
The alpaca and the accompanying gnocchi were fantastic. However, the chicharron was super dry, which I do not recommend. The accompanying salad was delicious though. The area we were seated had spasmodic ceiling bulbs and that really dampened our dining experience.

Tres Keros is a highly recommended dining option in Urubamba, offering an exquisite ambiance and tasteful decor. However, the quality of the food justifies these costs as one would easily pay double elsewhere for such a delightful meal. The trout is particularly recommended due to its freshness and impeccable cooking. For beverages, the passion fruit juice comes highly praised.
The restaurant is beautifully decorated. Our waiting John Pierre was exceptional. There is good variety on the menu and everything we tasted was excellent and beautifully presented! The dishes were approximately 40 to 50 soles each. I would highly recommend!

This restaurant was recommended to us by our hotel. It was absolutely delicious and the owner was an amazing host. We spent about 50 soles a plate, and even though those are definitely touristy prices, the food was worth it!
Honestly the best dessert I had so far in Peru. I recommend you to try the fried truffles!
A must visit if you are staying in Urubamba or dining in the area. The dining area is wonderful as it's perfectly lit with beautiful decor. Prices are around 30 (sols) for appetizers & pizzas (pizzas were not available for dinner however), and 40-55 for entrees but well worth it as I would pay twice as much for the same quality meal in the US. I recommend the trout - it was extremely fresh and cooked to perfection. For drinks, I recommend the passion fruit juice.

So we went there on advice from the hotel we stayed at. We weren't very hungry, but wanted to try it. We ordered a pizza and (1) coke zero.....58 soles later!!! The pizza wasn't anything to brag about either. Whoever says it's appropriately priced is nuts! We ate a pizza earlier in our trip at Pizzeria Quinua and its amazing! 38 soles for probably the best pizza and garlic bread I have ever had! Oh, and drinks too! Save your money!
Well done, excellent cuisine! In 15 days in Peru, this was certainly a highlight along with Maido & La Sirena de Juan!

For a very busy lunch stop on a bus tour the food at this buffet venue was surprisingly excellent. The choices and quality far exceeded all my expectations.
It was packed with people but still easy to find a seat.
After joining the long queue for food it was worth it to make selections from the soups, salads, pastas, meats, poultry and desserts.
There was also live entertainment and a stunning view of the mountains along one side of the building.

We went here as a stop on one of our tours. The food was amazing and lots of variety. Staff was very friendly, serviceable, and the atmosphere was quaint. Very clean (restrooms too). Highly recommend!! The view was amazing too!
We came on a tour and were pleasantly surprised with how good it was. The decor is beautiful and we loved the musician. As vegetarians there was a lot of healthy choices for us. The staff were extremely friendly and quick to serve. My kids particularly enjoyed the desserts.

It’s just impossible to get good if you are in traveling in a tour group, people are just cutting the line and usually you got to wait for more food to arrive which usually takes around 10 minutes. Just pathetic
We had a wonderful experience at 14 Inkas in Cusco. The buffet was full of tasty and fresh food, with a nice variety of dishes to try. What made it even more special was the breathtaking mountain view it was truly a beautiful and peaceful setting to enjoy our meal.

Cerveceria Alma Andina is a must-visit brewery in Urubamba. The legendary Max offers fantastic brewery tours, and the place boasts a wide selection of delicious beers. The friendly staff serves tasty burgers and quesadillas while creating a fun atmosphere with great music. It's a local watering hole that shouldn't be missed, offering many flavors and warm smiles to all beer lovers, especially those who enjoy IPA.
Holy wow, we drove past this place on our first day and couldn’t believe our luck when we went in and got a while brewery tour by the legendary Max, fantastic selection of beer and beyond friendly service, if you have the time you’d be crazy to miss this place.

The service and food are both phenomenal at Kampu. The flavors are very unique and excellently paired. The portions are also very generous. We got the street fighter noodles and the house curry, both were great. The steak was incredibly tender in both dishes. I sent a message earlier in the day for a reservation, which they accommodated easily.

We had a great experience at Kampu. The food is a fusion of Peruvian, Asian and South East Asian influences.
The Chef and owner masterfully combines fresh, local ingredients to create some truly unique and delicious dishes. The menu has a nice selection of starters and main dishes and is just right.
Three of our four dishes were outstanding and we were impressed. The fourth although excellent was a bit salty for our taste; however, that is subjective.
The crispy eggplant sticks, seasoned perfectly and drizzled with honey were amazing. The shiitake and local mushrooms in a savory marinade topped with local grilled hen was over-the-top. The trout curry with coconut milk served with white rice was outstanding, and the Malaysian beef noodle dish was just about perfect except it was a bit salty for our taste. Overall, we thought the food was outstanding and very creative. The service was professional and fast; one of the best in the valley. Our server, Stephanie was excellent.

Stopped in on our way to the train and so glad we did. What an unbelievable meal! Everything was bursting with flavor. I couldn’t stop eating, although I was full! We had a vegetarian in the group and Chef Eduardo went out of his way to make her something special, which was fantastic. I had one of the specials rice noodles with a yellow curry and tenderloin one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. The ownership is fantastic and Eduardo is a genius! Highly recommend if I could give six stars I would.

I could not recommend this place less. The food was okay, I guess, byt not good. Our food was forgotten. Then when we paid the staff seemed angry we did not tip. It took two hours. Even to pay we had to stare at them for ten to fifteen minutes. Then were rude about not being tipped when tipping is not even expected or normal in Peru.

Stopped here for a casual dinner. I got a maracuya sour and my wife got a beer. We shared a pizza which was essentially a flatbread. It didn’t have much flavor but they gave us a garlic sauce with it that saved the whole meal. We may be too spoiled by good pizza being from New York

This was probably one of our best meals in the Sacred Valley - with bone marrow as the appetizer, choclo (corn and chicken casserole) and ossobuco lasagna. We walked into this spacious, relaxing dining space on a Wed night and were surprised to find that we were the only diners there.
We were excited to check out this highly rated restaurant in Urubamba. But, unfortunately, it did not live up to the hype. The service was impeccable but the food was disappointing.
To drink we ordered a couple of Pisco sours which were sure blended with ice. I think we would have liked them more if they were not blended.
We ordered the ossobuco due to the great reviews but I found it far too salty to eat and was unable to eat even half of it. The lomo saltado was also a bit too salty. The best entree of the three was the beef short rib which was on the sweeter side. The grilled vegetables were also delicious.

During my visit, I was pleasantly surprised by the warm hospitality extended to us as newcomers in town. The staff went above and beyond, even staying open later than usual to accommodate our dining experience.
Such excellent comida...pero... the wait was SO long. We tried to divide our check amongst our group- and the staff couldn’t do it with 20 minutes of explanations in Spanish AND exasperated English.
All but two in our party received their food. And it was truly delicious. We all finished and then they finally brought out the last two meals—40 min later. The food is SO good. Ceviche trucha and the taquitos and the mashed potatoes.

This was a terrific place to eat my wife and I had a private meal here unintentionally but we just got in town and wanted to try a local restaurant with all the real common dishes apart from our tour group which goes to places that offer 4 or 5 options of semi authentic foods. They stayed open for us regardless our request that they close (go home and rest) and we return the next day. It was superb food and we couldn't have been better treated as foreigners. They didn't try to price gouge us or give us left overs. Everything was fresh and piping hot or cold as it should be with a freshly made meal.
Friendly wait staff. Helped us with our Spanish. Food was great. Lots of options from this red curry to chicken noodle soup to alpaca. A kids menu that included spaghetti and chicken nuggets. Our bill was 84/s for 2 meals a drink and a glass of wine.

This wasn’t fast food; this was real, homemade, soul-filled cooking. I’ve dined at many Michelin-starred restaurants, and Pakakuna absolutely holds its own. In fact, in many ways, it surpasses them.The ingredients are completely local—freshly caught fish from the nearby stream, produce straight from the region(and their garden), and flavors that capture the heart of Peruvian cuisine. It’s not flashy or pretentious. It’s calm, quiet, simple and absolutely perfect. If you’re in Urubamba or anywhere nearby, do not miss this place. I’m recommending it to everyone I know. Pakakuna is not just a restaurant—it’s an experience. One that I will never forget.
We absolutely loved this place right outside Urubamba. We took the cooking class here and had to come back, the grilled corn appetizer was so tasty and flavorful. The slow cooked beef and lomo saltado creamy pasta was excellent and the chocolate cake with caramel sauce was to die for. Also try their emollient drink! The atmosphere was so quaint and cozy, if you are in the area I highly recommend supporting this small family owned restaurant.

I'll put this in the category of 'perfectly fine' as far as tourist stop buffet lunches are concerned. The food was plentiful, and most people can find a dish or two that makes them happy. The desserts are delicious here. The vibe is a bit like a cafeteria, but at least there is live music. Service (mostly for drink orders) was excellent, especially given that we were a large group.
Our tour dropped us here for lunch and it was probably the best one from all other lunches we had in other tours. Wise selection of salad and main dishes. Not the best quality but fairly good comparing to others.

We were here with the tour package that we booked. It’s a Buffett assorted with salads, a soup, a dish of beef and chicken , ceviche , and assorted deserts. Food is ok - nothing special , didn’t like any of their deserts ( sorry) if able choose a different place for lunch. Drinks were not included with our package and their chichamorada is good.

Organika was a great experience, the food was very delicious and creative, although the vegetarian lasagne was out of balance for the taste (for me) all the rest was very tasty!
My favorite dish was the starter vegetable plate! It had different vegetables and creams and in total was in great harmony.

Highly recommend this experience! What a superb experience at Organika La Huerta!
We had a very warm welcome, followed by a very detailed explanation and tour of the vegetables, herbs and flowers grown here and used in the dishes and drinks prepared at the restaurant. The food itself was great, very healthy options with great taste. Special remarks to the trout dishes (both appetizer and entree), the hummus with vegetables, and the Alpaca. They are still polishing the cocktails of the house menu, but the Jora Sour was quite special, as its main component is distilled at the restaurant. We also had the chance to try 2 new options that they are making up and they were very nice! Special thanks to Sol, who gave us a magnificent service (thank you so much, Sol!). All in all, a fresh and highly recommended experience for visitors to the Sacred Valley.

When in Urubamba, you must visit Organika. We just happened to be staying in a hotel close-by and went in for lunch. What an amazing surprise. So, basically the food goes from the garden to your plate. Now, I have to start by saying that in my family we are not vegetarian, gluten-free, we don't belong to any of those cults 🤣 and we adore meat. However this place has some amazing dishes and they even make their own booze. We ate pizza with prosciutto and arugula, the burger, the pumpkin soups, and cheesecake for dessert. The drinks, that's another delicacy of this place, and you must try the pisco sour done with a local licor distilled from corn and home made. The service - above and beyond and some of the staff even spoke English. Our waiter was Lynette, who gave us a tour of the garden, the distillery and have us excellent recommendations. You must go here!!

We had the Lomo Saltado and homemade burger (likely reverse-seared) - both were incredibly flavorful.
We enjoyed an herbal tea made with fresh herbs grown just outside the restaurant.
The brownie dessert was outstanding - deep, raw cocoa flavor like nothing “commercial” we’ve had before. They even showed us their cacao-making process and let us taste the fresh cacao beans before roasting them right by their fireplace - unforgettable!
Huge thanks also to Estefanie for the warm and professional service. And if you're missing your dog while traveling, the adorable house dog will steal your heart.

We had the chaufa, trout ceviche, and a sushi role. All were exceptional. Don't miss the chicha morada either. It is perfectly balanced of sweet and sour with a touch of spice. This would be a weekly establishment for me if I lived nearby.
Rolls had too sour rice, but it was okay. Slow service. We ordered right after table next to us, and had to wait until all their food is going to be ready. I even should ask for a beer, cause guy was so concentrated on the other table orders.. that's strange. Usually you cook food for both orders in the same time..

Firstly the waiter was clueless, he couldn't handle our order - so we had to change it. The quinoa salad we received was extremely salty and we were waiting for a tea for 20 minutes. We've finally resigned, but had to pay for salty dish anyway (but luckily not for the tea that we didn't receive). After taking to staff they agreed to return us 66% of dish's price. Perhaps it was a bad timing for a visit, but that's what happened.

Firstly, I have eaten at restaurants all over the world, and am very easy to please. Never have I left a one-star review until now.
I was really excited to try this restaurant and made a reservation a few days in advance using WhatsApp. I successfully confirmed my 7PM reservation and even received two separate responses, with zero mention of a 1.5hr seating.
As soon as we sat down and got comfortable, the manager came over and told us that there was another reservation for the same table at 8:30 PM, and that we had to leave by then. He was quite rude about it.
My husband and I were really upset. Nowhere on their Instagram or in the WhatsApp communication was it mentioned that there was a time limit for our table.
We had planned to enjoy appetizers and dessert, but instead, we just had a main and left.
Don’t waste your money here.
If I could make a suggestion—go to FORTY BISTRO (it’s right beside Biga). We went the night before and had a wonderful experience. The staff was friendly, and the price for a really well-prepared beef tenderloin was actually cheaper than the pizza at Biga (beef tenderloin: 55 soles; Biga pizza: 58 soles). When we felt a bit chilly, the staff at Forty Bistro even lit a fire for us.
It’s completely fine to set time limits on tables. However, guests/customers should be clearly informed about any time restrictions when making a reservation—not after they arrive at the restaurant

I tried to envision the perfect Peruvian restaurant experience. I think this was it. We didn’t have to order anything crazy. Guinea Pig or Lama, wasn’t looking for that. We ordered corn with fried cheese app. Bread bowl beef stew, mushroom soup. Kids got onion rings and wings. Simple order ... but done in an authentic, local, and yet unique Peruvian style. Yep. This is the place. I don’t ever write reviews, but this was special. Near the top of the town if Urubamba, it was full in driving up here. Small dusty alleys. Tight squeeze no doubt. But you walk in off the street into one of the most beautiful, relaxing,clean and enchanting gardens in Peru. If you eat anywhere in the Sacred Valley, eat here.

This restaurant is a hidden gem, the food is fabulous and the landscaping is specular. Chef Gabrielle is the perfect host. His presentation and love for what is does shines inside and out. You can taste it in every bite.

This is a beautiful cozy restaurant full of cool art. It has a nice patio/garden area where the cook took fresh munã for my tea. The food was great and the menu has variety of items. Karen was super friendly and always checked to make sure everything was ok. Overall, I had a great experience and will definitely go again if I'm in the area.
I came to Peru for a college spring break trip. On the last night we went to dinner at Mamacha Juana in Urabamba. The food was amazing and the ambiance was perfect. The spot was a cute looking backyard fit with art, beautiful furniture and pottery and very kind owners. Felt as if I was invited to a friend's backyard cookout. Before the food arrived they brought bread, a wonderful spicy sauce and large maze flavored with cilantro. The dishes were spectacular with plates made of polished natural rock and wood. The dishes were garnished with colorful Peruvian flowers. I personally had the Aji De Gallina De Corral. Others in my group had different dishes and they all enjoyed there meals thoroughly. Another plus to this spot was it had the nicest bathroom of my whole trip. It had toilet paper already in there which is rare in Peru. The bathroom was clean and was decorated with fresh flowers. Absolutely a 10/10 and would recommended this spot if you are in Urabamba.

Great spot for group meals after hiking the Inca Trail. We finally get to try guinea pig. The fried skin is crispy and slightly salty. The taste and texture of the meat is close to that of a duck. We like it. The salad and stuffed pepper that came with the dish is very nice. We also had the Chicha Morada which was also very good. Free WiFi at the restaurant. Staff hinted at tips when paying. But staff was all along very helpful and friendly so we were happy to leave a small tip.

It was kind of interesting walking down this dirt road/alley from the main road but once we arrived it was lovely, quiet and peaceful.

If you're anywhere nearby during your stay in the Sacred Valley do not miss this place for dinner!! We even had leftovers they boxed up so we have some to go for food after long days. We were looking for a place to eat near our hotel and ran into this nice little gem. We ordered the classico pizza. Great pizza, the peach was something we had never had before on pizza and it was a pleasant surprise. Recommend the walk if you happen to be staying in town.

We had to wait maybe 15 minutes just because they were so busy but it was ok. The gentleman that took our order spoke pretty English too so that helped us out.

A lowkey restaurant in Ollantaytambo. Unlike other nearby restaurants, this one is big so it is very likely to find a table here. Since the menu is small, you can really tell that everything they make is specialized because every dish was delicious. Portions were big (we shared 2 dishes between 2). The vegan burgers were delicious. Good size burger, too. They seasoned the fries very well better than most places. They also have a large selection of sauces at least 10 different choices. The reason they didn't get a 5 out of 5 is because the portion of fries that come with the burger is small. Peru has an abundance of potatoes, so no place in Peru should have a small portion of fries. That's my opinion, at least. It's a small place.

I had the Pituca Veggie and it was the best vegetarian burger I had in my whole life! Not to mention the potatoes and the sauces - full of flavour, fresh and delicious. For me, the best thing that has this place are its sauces. They really know how to do them. I don't think they have the best wings but they are good compare to others in Urubamba. The fries are great. I personally didn't like the Urubambina? burger because it has "setas" similar to mushrooms but the flavor of them is strong. The Passion fruit juice is not good either. But they're open from lunch to 11, so that gives them some extra points.

MARIA MILANESA is a charming eatery with a warm and inviting ambiance. The menu features delightful dishes such as quinoa and smoked trout salad, as well as salchipapas that are sure to please all palates. In addition to the delicious food, the restaurant offers a selection of quality beers on tap. The friendly staff creates a welcoming atmosphere, making it feel like a family-friendly coffee shop where customers can enjoy games and books.
Maria's place has a really great atmosphere! Maria and her husband served us delicious and fresh food! Make sure to check out the cheap (s/25) and filling menu del dia.

The place is very decorated and very clean the service is nice. The big issue was the food which was no more than ok, maybe even a little bit less.. (I ate milanesa, french fries and salad)
We were in Urubamba because of the "Scammy tours" that bring you to visit the sacred valley. After the Pisac stop we bailed out because it was unbearable.
And as an oasis in the desert we found this place.
Renzo, the owner, is the best guy in the world. The food is very very good as well as the beers.
After the lunch he let us watch the final of supercoppa italiana on a big screen and let us seat on a super comfy sofa.
This place is perfect. Bail out the tour restaurants and come here!

Our first stop into the soul of Peru. This eatery provided quite large servings of food which were seasoned really well. The chicken was cooked beautifully, the sauce delicious and the drinks a plenty. My wife and I struggled to get through one meal together but enjoyed picking at the many local delicacies on offer such as the stuffed pepper. As we landed that day at this altitude we found it difficult to settle into the size of the dish which meant we left a lot of food behind. The staff were kind and attentive. If we stayed longer this would have become our regular dining spot. The window provides an excellent view of the mountains beyond. Not a bad place for the cost, variety of food and beautiful setting.

It's an okay tourist restaurant tour operators drop us for lunch. Buffet at about 50 soles per person, drinks extra. The good thing is that you can try lots of food, and there's a great view. So no wait.
