There are 4 organic booths located by a side entrance! You will feel the organic vibes! I found borage flowers and other flower edibles so fresh and tasty. Micro greens and sprouts. The beets were limply but sit them in water and they rejuvenate and then cooked are delicious.

Everything you need all in one place. There are lots of pictures of the food available, but there are clothing stores, shoes stores, electronics, etc

Floristeria Hilaritza located in this market has some of the freshest most beautiful blooms I’ve seen! Very reasonably priced as well.
YT — Google review
A great little market for buying just about anything that you need for your stay here. There are literally tons of fresh vegetables, produce, grains, nuts, legumes, meats, fruits, and other basics. Prices are very reasonable. There are always plenty of food stands around the market, if you need a quick, cheap meal or a snack, too.

Great produce selection. 3 levels. First floor all produce, cheeses and meats 2nd floor. Prepared food. Great selection from caldos to rice with duck, and other choices. 3rd floor natural juices.
Suly D — Google review
This is the market of the local community of Urubamba. The variëty of local products is actually amazing. The variety of fruits, vegetables, flowers, herbs, biological products, animal based products and fish is astonishing. At 4am the first locals arrive with the products they hope to sell that day and in the evening around 8pm a last concierge leaves and closes up. In this local market you one would not only find 60 families selling their products, but also quite some families serve their familiar menu's made oit of their own harvested crops or from the crops of neightbours, and also some workshops that offer sewing or textiles or local art or typical peruvian things like incenses or leather bags. For those who are interrested in what Urubamba has to offer, this market is a "must visit"

Specialty Museums
Nestled along the scenic route to Yucay, the Yucay Museo de Cultura Viva offers a captivating glimpse into the rich cultural tapestry of the region. This living museum is not just a feast for the eyes but also an educational haven where visitors can explore various aspects of local craftsmanship. From understanding the nuances between synthetic and natural alpaca wool to discerning authentic handmade silver jewelry from imitations, every moment spent here is enlightening.
We had an amazing experience with the tour, learned so much about traditional ways of making clothes, jewelry, farming, and chicha. We went with two Peruvian friends who could translate what we did not understand in Spanish, but they might also be able to provide a tour in English.
Mira F — Google review
This was a wonderful and educational experience. We learned the difference between synthetic alpaca clothing, adult alpaca, baby alpaca. We also learned to differentiate real handmade silver jewelry and imitation. We learned how cloths and patterns are handmade and how the colors are made naturally. We learned so much about their culture and how the "chicha" is made. We even tried a sample of chica. This place is by appointment only due to Covid so please plan accordingly. Must stop while in Yucay.

It's a museum and restaurant in the same place. Haven't really visited the museum but the restaurant is really good, with variety of dishes served as a buffet

Beautiful stop, to eat, enjoy some culture and beautiful ambiance. I loved everything, I would recommend the dish Canchaco de Cordero, and was outstanding. No picture of the dish, I was too hungry to wait 😅

Wonderful interactive tour that Selena gave us. Her English is very good. We learned about different cultures of the Sacred Valley and how they come together for the good of the people of this beautiful and sacred land. They also have a beautiful shop that you can get your own taste of the culture to take home with you! Best part about it, is that it is free!

Excellent!! Such great information of the many things we’ve seen in the Cusco area. We have been to Cusco several times but have a much greater understanding now of the weaving, dress, jewelry, houses, grains, etc. Highly recommend! Our guide spoke excellent English.

When visiting Cuyeria Don Cututu, be sure to indulge in the authentic flavors of the Andes with their signature dish, cuy (guinea pig). This traditional delicacy is typically roasted to perfection and accompanied by hearty potatoes and a zesty sauce that adds a delightful kick. Another culinary highlight you won't want to miss is lomo saltado, a savory beef stir-fry that beautifully marries Peruvian ingredients with Asian influences.

The Sacred Valley, also known as the Sacred Valley of the Incas, is a picturesque region in Peru located between Cusco and Machu Picchu. It is characterized by its stunning natural landscapes, including mountains and the Vilcanota River. The area is home to several ancient Incan ruins such as Moray's circular ruins and Maras' salt ponds. The climate in the valley is pleasant, making it an ideal location for farming various crops like corn and potatoes.
Before heading to Machu Picchu, we chose to joined one day tour of sacred valley, it was one of amazing spots during our Peru trip, especially our guide is sooo goood and explain everything clear. Addicted to the history of this area, PLEASE VISIT HERE IF YOU HAVE TIME:)
Tracy L — Google review
The Sacred Valley is magical indeed. In fact I regret visiting this region before Machu Picchu because it made the latter a bit underwhelming. May favorite ruins of the region were Pisac. I could easily have spent 2 weeks here exploring numerous well known and lesser known sites but, unfortunately I only had 2 days. We used the town of Urubamba as our base here.
Ryan N — Google review
The sacred valley is a historical testimony for the Inca’s. Its worth a visit and its possible to use a lot of time exploring these sites. Note, that there is quilte a distance between the sites.
Christian B — Google review
The Sacred Valley is an essential complement to visiting Cusco and Machu Picchu. This fertile valley, fed by the Urubamba (Vilcanota) River, was the agricultural breadbasket of the Inca Empire. It's a stunning landscape of terraced mountainsides, picturesque villages, and crucial archaeological sites like Pisac and Ollantaytambo. Visiting here offers a deeper understanding of Inca civilization, specifically their masterful hydro-engineering and agricultural genius. Don't just rush through—take your time to appreciate the beautiful scenery and the authentic local culture!
Michal R — Google review
The Sacred Valley of the Incas, near Cusco, is a stunning region of fertile plains, dramatic mountains, and vibrant Andean villages. It’s rich in history, dotted with Incan ruins like Ollantaytambo and Pisac, and full of colorful local markets where artisans sell textiles, pottery, and handmade crafts. The valley offers a mix of cultural experiences and natural beauty—terraced hillsides, rushing rivers, and traditional farms create a picturesque landscape. It’s also a convenient base for exploring nearby attractions such as Maras, Moray, and the train route to Machu Picchu. The pace here is more relaxed than Cusco, giving travelers a chance to experience authentic Andean life. Perfect for history enthusiasts, nature lovers, and anyone looking to combine culture with scenic

Restaurant
I stayed at Urumbamba for two nights and dined at Casa Colonial Restaurante & Bar on both occasions. On the first night, I enjoyed a delightful salad and pizza, while the second night I savored the grilled alpaca appetizer followed by grilled chicken with a side of salad and fries. The restaurant also served tasty pisco sours that reminded me of a frothy lime margarita. The food was well-prepared, hot, and delicious.
Aside from the deliciousness of the food, the thing that stuck out the most about this establishment was the service. Our server took such pride in everything he did for our table. My boyfriend had the pollo a la brasa while I opted for a terrific salad and pizza. Would not hesitate to come back!
Gina L — Google review
Aesthetic interior with views overlooking the main square. Service was prompt, beautiful plating, kind wait staff. The pisco sours tasted stronger here than at other places (no complaints!) pizza dough flavour fell flat but other dishes were flavourful. Lamb meat tender. beautiful overall, left content.
Jody L — Google review
Delicious lunch! Shared quinoa salad with lots of beans, onions, plus creole causa. Aji de Gallina was something I never tried, so surprised with delicious combination. My husband ordered Titicaca trout. The cheesecake and Picarones were also so yummy!
YY C — Google review
We ordered two dishes: The lamb was delicious, but the duck was hard to chew. This is my first time having the Arroz con Pato, and not sure what to expect, however I think the duck should be tender. if the server was fluent in English that would definitely improve the dinning experience.
Hong Q — Google review
We went to Casa Colonial 4/5 days we were there the Lomo Saltado was out of this world. On the last day we also got the Lamb that had been stewed for hours and it was just as good if not better (though my partner and I differ on that). Food is delving and the service is decently quick.
Karina L — Google review
I was brought here as part of my tour, and I was delighted to dine here. The atmosphere was colonial, and I knew that this place had to be the one. I was given a lunch menu to choose from, as well as drinks to accompany my meal. I picked Chicha Morada & Coca tea, Causa Criolla as an appetizer, Trucha de Titicaca as my main entree and Picarones as a dessert! Focaccia was brought as a starter, which was very nice. I liked overall presentation of each dish, and the flavor was amazing. I was very impressed with curry quinotto (quinoa?) because the curry flavor stood out without overpowering the trout. The unfortunate thing was that I didn’t have enough time to throughly enjoy the entire course, as I had an hour for lunch. Therefore, I asked the dessert to go, and they obliged. They were tasty even on the bus…chewy and sweet. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a nice meal.
Emiko K — Google review
Enjoyed a wonderful dinner here overlooking the Plaza. The food, service, and atmosphere were all right on par. I would definitely reccomend for a nice dinner in while staying in the area.

El Huacatay is a highly recommended restaurant in Peru, known for its delicious food and magical courtyard dining experience. The outdoor seating area is beautifully decorated, and the attentive servers ensure a delightful dining experience. The menu offers incredible dishes such as trout carpaccio, tuna tataki, and pesto pasta with trout. While the service may be a bit slow at times, it's worth stopping by before heading to Machu Picchu.
Tucked away inside the city is a vegetarian friendly restaurant with indoor, outdoor, & patio seating. It was laid back but each meal delivered in quality & creativeness. The service was super friendly & quick. Would love to try other things on the menu in a future visit!

Andean cuisine cooking class with chef Pio Vasquez prior to our Machu Picchu trip proved to be a most memorable experience. Chef Pio is a bubbly personality obviously passionate about what he does. His food was easily the best meal we had in our weeklong sojourn in Peru.
Datuk C — Google review
The atmosphere and service were wonderful. I have mixed feeling about the food though. The complimentary bread with olives and chimichurri was great! As an app I ordered the crispy mushroom empanaditas which I enjoyed but the veggies at the bottom were salty so I couldn’t eat the cheese dip with it bc it was salty also (blue cheese). For main I ordered the vegetable curry which was just ok. They put in a lot of onions as a filler veggie. Why I have mixed feelings about this place was bc it gave me diarrhea :( and I have been eating at many different places around the sacred valley daily for over a month and had no issues.
Katia B — Google review
This place is an absolute gem nestled in the heart of Urubamba. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm hospitality and a tranquil garden ambiance that set the tone for an exceptional dining experience. The menu is a delightful fusion of traditional Peruvian flavors and international influences, executed with creativity and finesse.

This restaurant is absolutely incredible! Aside from the food being amazingly delicious, I was completely floored by the setting. The restaurant is surrounded by gorgeous trees, creating the most beautiful and serene atmosphere. It was a seriously beautiful dining experience. I highly, highly recommend it.

One of our best meals in Peru. Classics with a twist. The alpaca with a demi glaze and Mediterranean trout were amazing. Carlos, the waiter, provided some of the best service we’ve ever had. He even helped us get a tuk tuk back to our hotel. Lovely atmosphere on their patio, as well.

This place is the best option for a quick, good lunch if you are on the route at Urubamba. Fresh local vegetables, fish (usually trout) and ceviche, beef stew, pork and chicken, excellent soups, and ice cold drinks which is difficult to get at Urubamba. The staff is friendly, available, attentive and quick to take care of customers' needs.

The food taste was very good, problem is that if you arrived after 2pm and only 2 or 3 dishes on the bufffet area, they charge you same price as a full dishes buffet. we pay full buffet price and it was only 2 dishes, chicharon and beef stew. Ceviche was great.
