It is a nice place to have breakfast. The scrambled egg was great! Also very good coffee. The menu options are not many, but they are very good and professionally made and presented. The service is friendly and nice. After they bring the food, they don’t ask whether you want sth else or you want to pay. We had to chase them, and eventually went inside to pay. If that is how it is supposed to be, it would be helpful if they communicated it.

We enjoyed the food and the portions were big, in the end, we couldn’t finish everything. It was very cold in the morning so we had to sit inside, it wasn’t very comfortable with the wooden floor. You can feel it when someone walks on it and it wasn’t very pleasant. We also think it was a quite pricy.

Lovely location, food that looks beautiful and tastes equally good and great tasting coffee.. what more can one ask for. The best part was the service- friendly, welcoming and quick service that couldn't be faulted.

I had been searching Lille for a decent coffee and most places were a let down. Then I found Paddo and had THE BEST latte ever! It was called a 'dirty' pistachio latte and it was divine. If you are looking for a place that makes good coffee - this is it. Friendly staff too.

A must! Great food - massive brunch portions. Visited twice during a short stay and would happily have gone more. Staff are great and welcoming. Worth going to Lille just to get food here. Only downside is that it closes at 5. Otherwise i would have had dinner here too.

Le Pain Quotidien is one of my favorite restaurants of all time. My first experience was in Manhattan, so naturally I look for one every time I am in a new city. Luckily, Lille accommodated - perfect little spot and relaxed, slow service - exactly what you’d expect on vacation. For travelers learning French, the staff were very kind as I tried to order in French and felt comfortable asking for help with words I didn’t know.

I usually just pass through Lille on my travels, but this time we spent the night—and I’m so glad we did. In the morning, I was really craving that cozy, classic French “croissant and coffee” moment. I started walking through the city centre and stumbled upon this charming little spot. The pastries in the window looked so beautiful, I couldn’t help but walk in. I'm Polish, I don’t speak French (though I’ve tried—unsuccessfully!), but I was greeted by Frida, who spoke the most lovely English. She was incredibly kind and patient, and her warmth instantly put me at ease. It truly meant so much. I had a lot of anxiety about visiting France, but places like this made me feel genuinely welcome and safe—like I belonged. Frida gently let me know there was a small extra charge to sit in and made sure I was comfortable with that, which I really appreciated. I said yes and ordered an oat milk latte and a hibiscus croissant. She even gave me a little milk chocolate on the side. Everything was absolutely delicious—made with care, and you could feel it. Thank you again for such a warm welcome. Your kindness touched my heart and will stay with me for a long, long time.

We chose this place because it has clearly labelled vegan items on the menu. We were hoping for croissants but they were all out (we visited around 3:30pm). I ordered soup of the day and despite constantly checking with the staff that everything ordered was vegan, soup was served with dairy butter on the side, which was not reassuring. Furthermore, I expected the soup to be served with fresh sourdough bread and/or baguette, as the menu indicates. Instead, it came with a large handful of ‘homemade croutons’ which were unseasoned dry bread and tasted very stale. The serving staff were very friendly and patient but we were disappointed by the unclean tables and menu cards.

I ordered a salmon and tuna salad to take away. It was €15. It literally had €3 worth of ingredients (more like a cold side salad), and I waited for over 10 minutes. Very very disappointed. I won’t be coming back. The lady who served me was nice though.

It's very quiet today but the service is really bad. Was seated at a messy table. My friend is vegan and the server didn't know if any of the soups were vegan or not. I order the miso salmon and the bowl came without the salmon. And the toilets are very dirty and one of the doors don't lock properly. With the price your paying for mediocre food I feel you have at least good service.

Food was a disaster; eggs from powder, dry and COLD. Even though the butter was mentioned as a part of a breakfast set, I needed to ask for bringing it. The bread was dry and in the set they are not giving even the smallest leaf of salad. The avocado in the set of my friend was mostly unripe hence half of it uneatable. When I complained about the eggs, the writer seemed a bit irritated with me. I ate here 2 years before and was much better, now I will be eating next door where prices are the same, but food much better quality.

Nice bakery corner and delicious and exceptional tasty cake and sandwiches. However the price are too high. We went on sunday so we ordered the sundy lunch sandwich which cost 15.90€. The pistachio cake tastes delicious but expensive 4.50. Moreover u have to queue for more than 20 minutes because of lack in the staff.

A display coming straight out from your sweetest dreams, with the loveliest staff. I went with a friend for Brunch on a Sunday. Unfortunately, none of the proposed savoury mains were vegan-friendly nor publicly proposing an option on it. After asking about it, the staff has been very arranging and had their talented chef make me a special plate. It was delicious, very tasty and filling and loaded with protein. 🥰 I would love Love for more vegan-friendly options on their permanent card. For both sweet and savoury treats. There is so much potential. Will keep that last ⭐ for myself until then!

We had a morning coffee and some sweets. Carrot cake and banana bread were delicious! We went on saturday morning so there was a small queue but it was moving very fast and we found table easily. I totally recommend it !!

Elizabeth's tea room is the place where I hang out with myself the most. I love the place and there are many reasons for it. One, it is an english tea room, so I feel comfortable to speak English without any hesitation. Two, the tea menu is quite elaborate. I prefer my ginger and peach tea. Third, variety of tea cakes and pastries to select from. I have almost tried most of them and some of my favourites are carrot cake, layer cake, and banana cake. I also love their cheese cake and the short bread is definitely a must try with their hot chocolate. I am not a huge fan of their in house hot chocolate because they make it with powder and its not dark enough to my taste. Four, the seating arrangements are quite cosy. Makes you feel like home. And last but not least, if you are a fan of Charles Dickens, they have a good collection to just sit and read there although I always carry my book.

This cafe is really cozy and cute! It's tucked in a quieter side street but not far from main roads, so the location is really convenient, too. Their selection is massive, and you can tell that everything they sell is extremely fresh. The staff are also really friendly and will answer questions about their current selection. They also use seasonal ingredients! I got a mixed berry layer cake, and it was delicious and moist. It was also not too sweet at all, and the frosting was not over abundant. A perfect slice of cake! The iced latte was also really tasty, made with good coffee (which they also sell in-store!)

Amazing little place, we waited in line for 30 minutes (with an inpatient man🥲) but it was so worth it!😍 As a banana bread lover I tried so many so is hard to impress me but that was so amazingly tasty, not dry, not too sweet, perfect! It was so good that we ended up buying the rest of the banana bread slices🥰 The coffee is also amazing, very nice staff, I love the place so much!😍🥰

Tamper in Lille may have some of the best brunch dishes we’ve had. Everything was absolutely delicious and they are known for their good coffee here. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Lille!

One of the few options open early for us early risers. It was magnificent! So fresh, so flavorful. The staff were the sweetest. We enjoyed our breakfast immensely!

A very interesting experience. Went to visit the city and found a music festival underway only the Cafe chap was hilariously nonchalant about it saying it was running late, and not orgnaised well at all! The drinks were good and outdoor space looks out to square. We watched a rock band. The drinks were no expensive. We didn't try the food

Maybe was my French, but the server wasn't the friendliest person I've met. Wrote the order, then he brought whatever he thought it was good for us. I told him that the coffee was with milk, then he gave me just one small plastic container of milk... Dunno, probably a bad day for him. The surroundings are cool though.

We visited this place as tourists, but the quality of service and taste was very poor. One staff member didn't know which glass to serve a double espresso in. As a result, the coffee quickly went cold. We bought croissants, chocolate croissants, and cookies, but they delivered them on a napkin. I repeatedly asked for a plate in English, but they didn't understand. Only after using the translator they gave us a coffee cup plate. Even though it was morning, the patisseries were stale. Our visit was a complete disappointment.

Delicious pastries! Stopped by here while exploring Lille to grab some goodies to take back home with us (to Belgium). Saw canelés in the window and had to stop! Very yummy!! We made a stop for hot chocolate and crepes here today and it was a delight. The crepes station is outside where a colleague makes it in front of you and you can select the flavours and add-ons etc. The outside seating is good but foot traffic makes it in to the area as it's not properly cordoned off. The pricing is ok, similar to the prices at Pauls in UK.

This was surprisingly one of the worst Paul cafes that we have ever visited. We thought that this place would be unique, especially that it is located in Lille-Centre. The stinky odor that you smell upon entering the café is unbearable. Their pastries are nothing exceptional for the price. Everything is overpriced, and they charge you extra if you choose to dine-in, though they don't provide any dine-in services (no toilets as well) . Their tables are very dirty, we could not find a clean table to sit and no one has bothered to clean any of the tables throughout the whole time that we sat down. They are definitely not cleaning their tables regularly, which poses many questions about the safety of their sanitary measures, especially in those critical times of the Covid19 pandemic. I don't recommend this place at all!

The service was extremely slow. I waited over 10 minutes for a simple brewed filter coffee. One of the baristas started the machine but got distracted chatting with others and didn’t notice when the coffee was ready. Proper training is clearly needed. Additionally, I noticed several people walking in, using the restroom, and taking sugar, napkins, and other supplies without making any purchases. This lack of oversight affects both the atmosphere and the overall customer experience.

The male barista wearing glasses is extremely condescending and rude, this happened few times, so not an isolated incident. I have reported his terrible attitude to the management and hopefully some action will be taken, this is absolutely unacceptable.

Nice little bakery away from main square. Had lines outside the door to buy lunch food. Clean and has toilets on top floor. The cold sandwich I got was ok. I wanted panini, but all they had left were cheese paninis. I got the combo, a sandwich, a bottle of water, and a dessert. The price was not bad. Seating was available up upstairs, which was nice. My 2 MAIN complaints were the lady's' restroom, there was no toilet paper and to top that off, the shared hand sinks had NO hand soap at both dispensers. That was disgusting. Does this mean the staff had not been washing their hands with soap after using the restroom? Something to think about.... Eeewww

Plenty of tables upstairs where we took our breakfast. We loved the food, especially the eclairs. It has various choice of delicious breads and sweet. The toilet on top floor is clean which is nice.

I recently visited this boulangerie and I have to say, the bread and pastries were absolutely delicious! There are lots of choices, and the atmosphere inside the boulangerie was also charming especially for the floor upstairs. However, I was disappointed with the service. The waitress I encountered was not attentive and seemed uninterested in providing good service. I hope the management will take this into consideration and improve the service. Overall, I would definitely recommend this boulangerie for its delicious baked goods, but be prepared for less than satisfactory service.

A very charming little French café with a fantastic selection of both sweet and savory treats! It’s a great spot for either a quick snack or a more relaxed lunch. You can conveniently order and pay at the table via QR code, or head inside to be inspired by the wide variety on display. The staff are peaceful, friendly, and quick.

i was really disappointed, this place looked so cosy - and it was. but the food wasn’t great. i got the pancakes with maple syrup and fresh fruits. i doubt the pancakes were homemade (if the were, they had been baked earlier). there was way too much syrup, which made the pancakes all soggy and cold. and the presentation was terrible - it looked like they just smashed on a cup of fruit. really disappointed bc this seemed like a great place, really cosy to sit, but the lack of presentation ruined it for me. it didn’t look appetising ar all. i can’t believe i paid 3 euros extra for that fruit :( to be honest, the fresh orange juice tasted like it was store bought too. i don’t think they squeeze their own oranges. one thing i did like was a little sweet pastry that you get with your coffee. it was really, really tasty. i would get this on the go. but no pancakes anymore.

This bakery really impressed us! The croissants were everything you’d hope for crispy, light, airy, and super fresh. The pain au chocolat was just as delicious. You can tell they care about quality. They also have a great selection of breads, and everything runs smoothly thanks to their very organized system. It made the whole experience pleasant from start to finish. Definitely a place I’d go back to for a proper croissant fix.

The first time we've visited this place was to get breakfast. I ordered the brioche with burrata, which was very nice! In the afternoon we went back to get cookies for our way back home. Very tasty as well. Would definitely recommend this place.

Visited this place for the first time today and unfortunately it's very much disappointed me. Look at the furniture condition, tables are dirty, windows are dirty as well. And this place is locating just near to the center city. I usually go to the one next to H&M, its much better.

Were staying for only one night and its a disaster. The walls are stained, smells bad, and there is a huge mosquito. I would rather sleep next to the crackhead in front of the hotel.

This is an awful hotel, worn out, broken and shabby in the extreme. It was only for 1 night whilst waiting for the ferry and if it weren't so convenient we would not have delayed. Our room was nort the configuration booked and smelt of cigarette smoke with towels musty and unpleasant There was no toilet seat and both the shower rail and flush were damaged with the plumbing access panel falling off the wall The shower head itself had to be held by hand The walls of the were badly marked with broken wallpaper and signs of damp The door lock didn't work properly and the wooden window frame was broken where someone had clearly tried to break in If I'd been alone I wouldn't have stayed as I wouldn't have felt safe I'm sure if this hotel were in the UK it would be closed down and demolished Do not stay here at any cost! I honestly can’t believe what has happened to me and my husband tonight at this hotel. We checked in at 2am after a long journey from London, we had checked out by 2.40am! The guy that checked us in came running into our hotel room 15 minutes after we had checked in! He didn’t knock and just opens the door slowly! My hudband asked what on earth he was doing and he ran away!!! We packed our things back up and went to check out. I explained how I didn’t feel safe in the hotel , he just kept saying he had forgotten we had checked in and needed to check the towels in the room!? He was clearly lying and looked embarrassed we were calling out his bad behaviour! We are now stuck in France at 3.15 with no hotel to check into! I can’t believe how unprofessional and odd this behaviour is! I will be calling the company in the morning to report this behaviour, I would suggest to anyone vulnerable, travelling with children, women, ANYONE to not go here.

Everything in the hotel was old and worn out. The TV had no channels in any language other than French, and there were no cartoons or kid-friendly options. The hotel is not suitable for children; the rooms are on floors with balconies that are questionable in quality. There's a large gap between the end of the balcony and the railing, big enough for a child's foot to fit through, which made our stay stressful with kids. The walls were very thin, and we could hear everything from neighboring rooms, including arguments and people having loud parties, smoking marijuana, and cigarettes on the balconies. There was no communal area or garden to relax in; nowhere to sit outside. Room service was available only on the first day. On the second day, we only received fresh towels, but our bed linen was not changed, and nothing was cleaned. The only positive aspect was the reception staff, who were friendly but spoke no English at all. Overall, a very disappointing experience. Avoid this hotel if you can.

When we came it's smelled like alcohol, cigarettes. The wall was disgusting, and so much rubbish was on the floor. The towels was so much dirty. On the sink was some liquid.

Good enough for a stay when you only need somewhere to stay for one night. Very small rooms with a tight bathroom, room was clean and it had clean sheets and towels. The whole place could need a little upgrade and maintenance, the room had a certain smell of mould. Maybe because the fan in the bathroom wasn’t working.
