We went here for dinner on a Friday night. The venue is great. There’s a beautiful entrance that leads to the restaurant. We decided on the full experience. Basically a surprise menu with drinks. We had a great evening and the food is great. Some things weren’t as expected though. Although it was a full experience, a drink with the first and last course wasn’t included. That was an extra €50 we didn’t expect to spend when we booked as it was supposed to be a *full* experience. All other courses did come with a pairing. The drinks were mostly wine, except for one beer. I like beer, but this beer was pretty bad. Lastly we were a bit surprised that we had to share a small piece of meat as the main course. Overall we had a great evening out and this restaurant ended up being some great value for money. I would definitely recommend trying Bloempot at least once.

Incredible!!! This was a treat from the entry way down an unassuming alley to the rustic decor. The food was a surprise with each of the courses. Each was tantalizing and paired with the perfect non-slcoholic option (because we don't drink, but they had alcohol options as well). Everything was flavorful, locally sourced, organic, and perfect!!! We thoroughly loved it and would highly recommend!!!

Great restaurant with good service and an imaginative and interesting menu. The savoury courses were excellent but the sweet courses a little disappointing. The alcohol pairing was very different to the norm.

Fantastic surprise menu for €60 created using local ingredients. There’s an option to get alcoholic or non alcoholic pairings as well This was my favourite meal after 2 months of travel around Europe. The food was perfectly cooked and creative. Hats off to the chef! I highly recommend this place!

An excellent meal with an interesting progression! A very modern take on the local cuisine which is worth trying. On the night we visited they gladly fit us in despite being quite busy. The meal was a little slow (no problem for us) but each dish was well worth the wait.

Loved this place which serves quality & creative dishes, made with local products only. The staff was lovely and took the time to talk us through each course of the meal. The atmosphere was fancy but still cosy and warm (industrial design). You can expect to spend at least 2-3h there! Would definitely go back again someday

Unique, charming and cozy restaurant, starting with the little stone path to the entrance. Service was efficient and friendly, including the explanations of each dish. There was a bit of "sameness" in the first three courses - I really started craving something with more punch & presence. It came, thankfully in the chicken & merguez dish. All is all - the food experience was fine - not amazing - as indicated by us counting down the courses. The pairing was disappointing - I misread and thought that you could choose a wine pairing or a beer pairing. I didn't know it was a combo - but more beer in the bunch than I would have liked. I would recommend the experience to others, but I don't expect that I would go back myself.

Was here with my wife during a two days stay in Lille to have lunch ordered a Flemish Beef Stew with Frites and Gingerbread and it was really good of taste the price was also reasonable besides the weather was that excellent so we enjoyed ourselves sitting outside on the terrace 😊

A wonderful, inviting place that welcomes dogs and offers English-language options and is just generally a wonderful spot. Plus they serve food all day, while a lot of other places in this city only start dinner at 7:00 PM!

This was a very traditional restaurant and the decor was cute. But it was clearly a bit of a tourist trap. I would have avoided it based on the reviews but a friend was already seated by the time I arrived. The food was average at best, albeit good value with the pre-fixe. The mussels were gritty, and my goat cheese salad was lacking dressing. The crepe was dry and needed lemon. We asked three times for water but none arrived, although the service generally was pleasant. The house red wine was lovely though!

Should have known better when we was shown to a small dirty table with dirty cutlery waiting to order was ridiculous .it wasn't even busy staff kept on walking past us had to go and find a member of staff not sure if it was because we were English the food was absolutely disgusting chips was vile cooked in dirty old fat they smelt the hockey of pork i tried it had a weird smell like it was rotten glasses was dirty arpunthe rim the members of staff kept on looking knowing something was wrong woth the meal he took it away with out asking was there anymore no apology when I told him it didn't smell good toliet was the worst ive ever seen and been to wee and poo all over the toliet toliet paper all over the floor I didnt even stop to use it i think the food and hygiene need to assess this restaurant and soon

Great place to come for a great food. Me and my wife in Lille only 4 days in July and all 4 days been La Chicorée. The place offers a warm welcoming atmosphere. The food here is absolutely delicious, every dish we tried was bursting with flavour. The staffs are so nice and friendly. We would like to thanks mademoiselle Myriam and monsieur Didier for a great service. Of course will come back again and would recommend to travellers here for a great food. I was initially hesitant to try this restaurant because of the low rating and reviews but I am glad I did give it a try. The location is very central and perfect for tourists and locals alike. This is a large and very busy restaurant so the service can be a bit slow but once the order is taken the food does arrive in a good time frame. The menu itself offers a wide range of French classic and Flemish cuisine. Prices are fairly ok for the location. The beef tartare was my favourite but the Welsh cheese dish was also very nice bit too heavy for me. Once the rush is over the waiters are actually very friendly and nice. Will come again.

We were hoping to have a Michelin-starred meal during our latest visit to Lille but the three city-centre restaurants were all closed. Instead we went to Le Braque. Our experience was mostly good with just a few rough edges. The food was fantastic. We chose the seven course option and it was all delicious, particularly the pigeon, the veal dish and the green beans with the fish mousse. We also went for the four glasses of wine option and they were all very good. The dining area is nice and felt like a buzzing bistro more than a stuffy high-end eaterie. Service was..... inconsistent. It wasn't bad or rude at all. However we had a few very long waits between courses, particularly during the desserts. At one point we were served a course we'd already had. There were only three servers working and they were all very busy so it's forgivable. Feels like an extra staff member would come in handy. Great food, great atmosphere, service just needed a bit of tweaking.

Great food, reasonably priced tasting menu - 6 fantastic courses for €59 at the counter - and great wine pairings. Staff were kind and friendly, and were sweet enough to replace a course I'm allergic to. I found this spot on the Michelin site, and can't help thinking they'll get a star soon. So many great flavours, beautiful presentation. Can't ask for more! Would return!

Interesting 6 courses done well. Waiter was great with my allergy to hazelnuts and had a dish modified to fit me. Menu was only in French. They had some difficulty explaining the pieces in each course however all of it was tasteful and artistically displayed. They were prompt between each course and contentious of silverware for the next round. We chose the window seat at a bar in the corner. It was intimate and lovely to watch the people walking on the street.

Excellent food, great flavour combinations, with a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. This place is on the cusp of getting a Michelin star, it has to be anytime soon as the food was just amazing. My friend and I went for the 6 courses, and we were super impressed with every single one of them, great ingredients and the chef really succeeded in making each of the ingredients sing and in harmony with each other. The service was very good, staffs were all very friendly and helpful. We had a fantastic evenings!

I chose this restaurant for my birthday lunch and I was not disappointed. Being a relatively new restaurant during my time of visit (11 Sep), there were some teething issues, like the power cuts, but nothing really serious to distract from dining experience. I especially appreciated the service staff and chef making the effort to adapt the portion sizes to accommodate a single diner like me who wanted to try many dishes. Thank you very much! The interiors where bright, yet warm and inviting. Personally the table setting was slightly too bare for my personal liking and could be softened a little to better complement the interiors and style of service. Table bread quality could also be better. My absolute favourite has to be the fried sweetbreads with iodized gibrish sauce. The sweetbreads were cooked perfectly and did not have the usual overpowering smell and taste of offal. It was also genius to pair the mineral notes of both sweetbreads and oysters. Perhaps the only thing I could nitpick would be that the sweetbread could be cut into slightly smaller pieces to reduce the richness and increase the breading to sweetbread ratio. Overall the dining experience was good from both the food and service perspectives, especially for a new establishment!

A good place with menus at reasonable prices. Dishes were too much centred on mashes and cremes for my taste. It was also slightly more expensive than comparable restaurants in Lille, especially the drinks and wine list. Service started ok but as the evening went by, it became slower and slower. In the end, we waited 20 minutes for the bill to arrive.

We could not have been made to feel more welcome. We went here with our 2 year old for dinner, which can be challenging itself. They made it very easy with for us. Super nice people working there, nothing was a problem. The food was great, really enjoyed what we had. Definitely try this place out. Would go again.

Everything was great. The burger was absolutely delicious. Getting to choose the music was also really fun. Service was perfect, very Nice staff.

Great atmosphere and cute details, but honestly the food was just ok. One of the staff should work on being more professional towards customers.

They had a vision .. serve the food that we were eating as kids in the 90’s and they made it right, even better ! A nostalgic trip from the menu to the ambiance .. Check out the cordon bleue , wow, that was a tasty new interpretation of a classic cordon bleue , also don’t miss the caffe gourmand , with some unique desert made out of kinder chocolate, snickers bars and lemon cream !

The food was nice but the menu could be more varied. The service was great and I loved the 90s vibe!

Wedges and salad were fine but the burger was really really good. I had the "hot burger", one of the best i had in ages. The cook really knows burgers!!!

We decided to go there because of google map recommendations and Routard stickers on the window. They have an interesting choice or burgers and 70-80s style decor that we quite liked. However, it took us around 40 min to get our order and they got it wrong, well-done instead of rare etc. Took us approximately 5 min to get across the bun to the meat because the meat portion was ridiculously tiny. The meat in the chicken burger resembled plywood more than anything else, it was a pressed "meat sponge" not an actual piece of chicken. They seem to relay on their past recommendations to get the customers, and they must have lowered their quality a LOT

Loved this place. The decor is awesome and the place is so well curated. Love their logo as well. Also, probably the best burger I’ve had in France. I ordered ‘The One’ which came with standard burger toppings (salad, tomato, pickle) but also a house made cocktail sauce. I could tell they use high quality beef. =) Really enjoyed the potatoes that come on the side!

These guys were my family’s saviours. After a delayed ferry meant I ended up trekking up and down the streets of old Lille looking desperately for an open restaurant at 10pm, the folks at La Dinette saved my child from having to go to bed hungry. Though they were closing, they reopened the kitchen just for us and served us the most delicious quiche (and I’m not even a fan of quiches). They also sold us some milk because all of the supermarkets were closed.

Really nice restaurant offering brunch. Kids friendly. The burgers were delicious. The ingredients fresh and tasty. Organic fresh juice with home-made brunch. The tables are a bit small. The waiters extremely friendly and helpful. Quick service. The tiramisu is delicious. Prices are reasonable (80euros for brunch, family of 4 ).

Very interesting place with a good burger menu...the hot burger is really good and they used pickled chillies instead of fresh ones..it's a nice combination with baked potatoes. One would love the experience given the price you pay.

Even with a limited choice the food was nice but quite overpriced. As a parent with small kids u will feel comfortable here.

Summary: Inattentive service, average food and wine, atmosphere not different from other much better restaurants with outdoor seating. Will not recommend. Servers were running about as they seemed very busy during lunch time. Maybe try a less busy time if you still want to try your luck. My waiter was inattentive and only interested to quickly be done with it. I was initially thinking of ordering dessert to be served later and asking for his recommendation for a wine pairing. But since he was not paying attention and already looking/ shouting over to talk to his colleague across another table, I did not bother ordering much and kept to a simple main and a random wine. No bread offered and didn't check in at all if I need anything else (not even water). When I eventually got up and paid my bill (you have to go to the till; they don’t do it at your table), I was asked if the food was okay. When I gave my honest answer, no apologies offered either. The food — I ordered the Welsh au maroilles. It was so salty to the point of being inedible. I barely finished one-third of my plate. The salad was just bland and tasteless. The frites was probably the only saving grace but still nothing to write home about. Atmosphere - It’s all nice when it’s sunny but you get that everywhere else. So don’t bother here. Reminders (general): Despite all the above, if you still want to try this, make sure to reserve in advance. Places and restaurants get filled up easily in Lille. When sat outside, be prepared for secondhand smoke. Your coat, clothes and even your food will smell of secondhand smoke. People there will not be considerate of you even in restaurants.

Nice traditional atmosphere and generous portions, but food quality was inconsistent. Service was okay, though the ordering policy felt a bit strict. Worth trying for local dishes, but not a must-return spot.

Fantastic guesthouse with excellent home-made fresh breakfast and very kind host. The room was clean, spacious and cozy. The bathroom was modern and functional. It was more than our expectation. We would definitely love to stay here again!

Sweet old restaurant in the old town of Lille. Food very local and cheese heavy. A bit too heavy for my taste but good and well prepared. Do not ask for bread lol.

This place was a nice surprise. Good local food. Don't expect anything refined. North French kitchen is food of the farmers and coal miners back in the day if I'm correct. I really loved the taste of everything. Good portions... Local wines.. Very much wat I like. To me it feld like a Christmas diner. The service was very efficient, friendly en Quik. No bs.. Make sure you have reservations. When we came in there was nobody there but within 15 min the whole place was full. Price was OK.

We had a fantastic experience at the restaurant! There were plenty of options, and the portions were generous. We decided to try the regional plate, which allowed us to sample a little bit of everything, and I highly recommend it - it was delicious! *Assiette régionale - featuring specialties such as Carbonnade, Welsh au Maroilles, Croquette au Maroilles, and sliced Potjevleesch served with salad and fries). We also indulged in a delightful dessert, perfect for sharing. *La Flamanderole - thin regional butter waffles with regional vanilla ice cream, warm chocolate, and whipped cream. Booking in advance is definitely recommended!

very nice typical restaurant, very welcoming location. the dishes are good. not recommended for those who don't like cheese, in the room there is a strong smell of it (if you like it, you will appreciate it). the desserts are fantastic and very big. Average price, for a beer (50cl), welsh and a dessert 28€.

Good estaminet with traditional food from the region. My favorite one on the Gand street. Last time I came I saw a mouse though 😅

Best to make a reservation before you come as it can get quite crowded. Here you will find traditional Lille cuisine that you won’t find in other parts of France. It was recommended by a local friend. Food served is quite rustic, no frills but not cheap either. We ordered the what looked like a baked cheese flan tart to start that was incredibly delicious. My favourite was the beef slow cooked in beer that was so tender and soft… would have preferred mashed potatoes as it would have gone so well with the gravy but it came with a large portion of fries instead. The chicken baked in cream and cheese was a bit too rich but nonetheless quite delicious.

The dough of pizza if really dry and the pizza itself too much greasy due to the amount of mozzarella cheese. The service is really nice and helpful though and the restaurant is very cozy.

First of all, the pizza we had was 10/10 which was the most important thing of course. The pizzeria is in a beautiful Lille street & they have a good number of table outside 🙏🏼 No wifi, no other menu other than the French one with waiters & waitresses that aren't exactly fluent in English... This is the norm in France I guess but it kind of sucks! We were just lucky to pick the pizza for our taste.

Asked for wine list. Told that they did not have X and Y. We asked for a Primitivo from the list. Said that they didn’t have it. Suggested another. We accepted. We ordered a second bottle. They said that they did not have another of the same. We left. Seems to be a major problem of buying the wines that are in their own wine lists. Rather chaotic.

Enjoyed the pizza and the service was prompt....I suppose cos It was still early for lunch on a rainy Tues- so not many people. I would say that the pizzas are a bit pricey but nevertheless it was good!

It was busy with a great atmosphere. The service was excellent, and the waiter spoke very good English. We really enjoyed the food.

Packed! One pizza was ok - Toto, the other one was super good - Terrona. The red wine by the glass was ok, but nothing especial. For the desert I preferred the tiramisu, the others weren’t that good.

The place surely justifies the ratings it has on the internet. The interior and ambience is rich. The menu has it all and takes good care for vegetarian and non-vegetarians. I tried 2 vegetarian pizzas. The crust was fine and the ingredients were fresh. The service was decent with nice facility to order contactless. I just don’t know why there were too many Bio Wine on the menu??

Very attractive interior. We were in a booth for two set into the wall. All good and interesting food with bold flavours. Good service, maybe too friendly and a little rushed. Beef carbonade, seared tuna steak, salmon, cheesy thing with chicory, French toast, blackberry ice cream in genever. 500ml strong beer, water and orangina 98 euros.

We recently dined at La Petit Cour, and unfortunately, it was the worst dining experience we've ever had. When going out to eat, you expect something enjoyable, but the food here almost made us ill. The starters were passable, though incredibly dull. The frog legs, in particular, were bland, with hardly any flavor; only the accompanying sauce added some taste. The fish was decent but, again, quite flavorless. Then came the main courses. The beef tartare was not well-prepared, with large chunks that didn't add much appeal. But the low point was definitely the shrimp croquettes with fries. I've had shrimp croquettes many times, but never anything as terrible as these. It was clear they had been frozen, with a mushy, soft texture that literally fell apart when picked up. The smell and taste were even worse—a strange chemical-like scent and flavor that I couldn't swallow without feeling nauseous. We had to send it back because it was simply inedible. Even after it was removed, the unpleasant smell lingered. We were later told the chef had washed their hands with something that accidentally transferred to the food, though it wasn’t entirely clear. We did get a refund for this dish, thankfully. For dessert, we ordered the crème brûlée and the apple mousse. The apple mousse was delicious, but how does one ruin a crème brûlée? It arrived completely burnt, with a strong, ashy flavor that was overwhelming. We sent it back and received a new one, but even that still tasted burnt. It's hard to understand how dishes could taste this unpleasant and yet receive such positive reviews elsewhere. We won’t be returning.

This was such a fantastic place to eat in Lille. The food was beautiful and authentically French. The staff were incredibly friendly and went out of their way to get to know us. A highly recommended restaurant!

Fish was excellent and nicely grilled. Taste wonderful with the accompanying pickles and vegetables. Asparagus cream chicken was good too and my partner loved it. I believe their creme brulee can be better but the taste that day was not so bad too. Caramel brioche was unique and definitely satisfies anyone with a sweet tooth.

The atmosphere and personnel were very nice. We had the day's specialty 'swordfish and basmati rice' and a starter 'os à moëlle'. The starter was excellent, but the swordfish was try, and the portion tiny...the rice was basmatic but overcooked and made up 3/4 of the plate. The owner was very kind and said he would make sure to make changes. So, for what we had, it was a little overpriced for the quality of the food.

Excellent food, great service, lovely ambience and family-friendly. We booked this restaurant on our visit to Lille and wasn't disappointed. We had the croquettes, prawns and salmon tartar for starters and veal chops, beef steak and beef stew for mains. We were all delighted with our meal. They are also very child-friendly and were willing to cook up some dishes for our daughter giving us a few options of cooked salmon or beef pattie. Highly recommended.

Came after 2 years and everything is still really good as we remembered. Food is tasty and the place has a lovely atmosphere. The servers do their best and are bilingual.

I found this place by mistake as I walking down town in Lille and decided to give it a try. I was alone and I tried the croquet maroilles, the poulet maroilles and a 500ml local beer. Firstly, the croquet maroilles was excellent. It was served with salad and it was exceptionally good (costed 7 euro). Secondly the chicken was good but not the best I tried. The sauce was a bit thin and had not a lot of flavour. The plate was served with fried potatoes which were tasty (costed 19.5 euro). Lastly, the beer was exceptional 😁. I must say that the hospitality and helpfulness of the personnel was beyond expectations and made the whole experience amazing. Very well done.

We made a reservation the day before. Everything was perfect. Food was amazing, so delicious and our waiter suggested a great wine and beer that matched perfectly with the food. Highly recommended!

Its a cosy restaurant which is located in a alley closed to Grand Place of Lille (not so far from Rihour metro station). There are seat outdoor and indoor (1st floor). The food is delicious, beer is good as well. Price is around 30euro/each person. But I wish restaurant make more bread instead of french frites. Otherwise, quick preparation of food and warm atmosphere.

This restaurant sits in a sort of building backyard, preceded by two others more economical places I'd say (judging from what it was served), so it was found almost because of a chance and - at the net of my experience - I wish I would have not found it at all. Firstly, it has to say that we arrived here only because we were after dining while eating the two popular Lille dishes: the carbonnade flamande (stewed meat) and waterzoï (boiled poultry in bouillon with cream). We couldn't find any of those on the first top 5 restaurants we visited on our path, and being already 8pm we decided to give it a go to this place, though the cost already put me on the warning condition. But I thought, ok these are local special mains, so they must somehow be with worth; hence we entered. At the entrance, the waiter indicates is the table number where we can sit. He said you can go upstairs, table 10. Every restaurant I've been so far, even the cheapest, has always seen waiters escorting us to the table, so this was already collecting its second negative point. Finally at the second floor, another waiter see us arriving, and when I said about the table, it let us accommodate next to a table close to the kitchen (which was having the door fully open because of the hot weather and the fact they could not keep their windows open), a fridge with cold drinks and the elevator used by guests (the space for passing between my chair and the lift was so reduced, that I wonder what would have happened if a person on a wheel chair was there). Anyway, the waiter comes with the blackboard with the daily selection, but we say we want those dishes. He suggests that they will take only five minutes to be prepared and whether we were ready to eat. We just say so and literally after seven minutes the mains arrive, clearly suggesting previously cooked food, which in fact was barely warm, tasty, but definitely not worth the money they sought. In serving the meal, part of my stew was poured on the underneath napkin; when it came the time of the wine, some drops went on the table, and the tea (served in a metal teapot you usually get in a second-hand style bar) was heavily dropped on the table. The dessert selection was almost okay, and the glasses of wines good, but this was very little to compensate the bill. Toilets are in the basement, where a second guest hall is located, with the gents with a door open and the hand wash basin in the main room somehow.

Fabulous spot on a backstreet - recommend the steak or carbonnade - a traditional Flemish stew with fries. Fabulous service and nice wines, too.

Maybe my expectation is too high (rating: French food with 4.4), found that the food we ordered is just so so. Too much cheese/too strong, can't finish them. Just kind of fast food/bar. Poor hygiene, at least one staff in bar preparing drinks have severe running nose, sneeze.... And some others with minor symptoms. No mask nor hand washing after sneezing. €66 for 3 persons for Sunday lunch.

Loved it! Very cosy restaurant, the staff is almost flying and they did a great job to serving. We had the cheese fondue to share and it was good (I don't have much experience to compare to another fondue restaurant) Some may say it looks shabby but we found it charming.

We visited Le Broc for lunch and were greeted by friendly staff. Excited to try the Welsh for the first time, we ordered one of each variety. While it was good, I found the cheddar to be a bit overpowering for my taste, and I wished there was more meat on it. The baked potatoes were enjoyable, but the fried chips were a bit too oily for my liking.

Our third time here for fondue. Plentiful with lovely accompliments, just felt the potatoes were a bit overcooked and fell off the folk into the fondue. Great kids menu and good customer care.

Ordered the chti burger and a tarte tatin with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Food was great, service was great and making a reservation online was super easy!

A feast of cheese and served with a smile. Good prices. Main for two and a 500ml wine came in at around £35 total. Recommend booking in advance as gets really busy, but with a good buzz about it.

The atmosphere of the place is lively. Staff is friendly and helpful. It’s also a good place to try French cuisines, from the typical ones to the Northern specialties. Large portion of dish at a reasonable price. I think the mojito sans alcool can be improved by changing how the mint leaves are layered. Since the mint leaves are pressed against the glass, the sweetness from the sugar doesn’t com out as it should have. I know Mojito is quite hard for bartender to make, so I still am willing to give a 5 start rating.

La Fleur de Lille is quite a nice place with delicious food. The overall experience was very good, except for the cider—we ordered it and received small bottles, each costing €8, which was a bit surprising. Other than that, everything was great!

I had a three item menu with a dessert of chocolate mousse, which includes pieces of egg shells in it. The explanation they gave was it was pepper but it's identifiably egg shell as it flips (see video). And their resolution was to cancel the price for my dessert. Generally the food here is quite average imo.

Staff are friendly and helpful. The food was delicious. The portions of the food we had were good.

Like most Kitchen nightmare's episodes. Service is decent but the food is hardly pleasurable. Chinese styled hot chicken as a starter, overcooked steak, bread, cheese, and an egg as the main course. Strawberry jam like with a scoop of ice cream for dessert. With 30 mins wait in between. We're left rather dissatisfied and disappointed.

Food was bland, often cold or undercooked, with no flavour - across starter, main and desert. Atmosphere lacking - bright lights and no music. Slow service. Would not recommend - a waste of an evening in an otherwise lovely place.

Once again a very tasty and well presented meal at this excellent restaurant. The mie en bouche of smoked garlic soup was intense. Perfect eggs floated in a lovely vegetable veloute. Turkey was very tasty and well matched with red cabbage . The dessert of poached pear with ginger was a delight.

We did arrive near the closing time (but not that close) and it just seemed our waiter didn't have a good day. I have heard about this place and I hope this was just "one of those days". Nice crepe place in the heart of the city. It has pizza and crepes. It isn't the cheapest but food is nice and the place is cosy. It is small and it has 2 floors with a spiral stair. During the week (not holiday) there is a special offer drink+crepe for 6.5€ from 16.00 to 18.00. Usual prices for crepe go from 3.9 to 5.9€. Drinks around 3 and 4€. Pizzas around 10€.

Sat down during a relatively busy service. Was taken to our table. Took about 10 minutes to be given a menu. Sat waiting for a further 20 minutes for our drinks order to be taken. During this time we were served a cold (should have been warm) aperitif. Overall, we felt invisible, there was no staff urgency, it was understaffed and everyone working looked miserable. So we walked out and dont think they even noticed we left. Didn't want to spend our hard earned money at an extremely underwhelming restaurant.

The restaurant and foods were just good served but not as tasty as you may expect! Food were served very cold and timing and service was not perfect.

It is a drab place which is dead on Saturday evening except for some teenagers hanging out with friends. Restaurants are not many, and not all are good, with rather pricy options. The Greek place was very good, but the Indian one was terrible.

Grand Scène is a fantastic two-story food market where you can explore 10 different food stalls and two bars. We tried the Mexican food at El Camion and were blown away by the kindness of the ladies working there—they even made fresh guac for us without coriander! Talk about amazing service! The bar on the ground floor was equally impressive, with a super kind, helpful, and patient bartender who made the experience even better. This place has such a vibrant and welcoming vibe. Can’t wait to visit again when I’m back in Lille!

Checked out your pizzeria — everything was super tasty and the vibe was great! Loved the crust, the toppings, the whole atmosphere. One small thing: would be awesome to have some spicy olive oil on the tables to kick the pizza up a notch. Hope to see it next time! Pretty cool. There is some restaurants where you can order tapa-like stuff. You can chill at the tables and try some different food. Beer is 5€ at happy hour.

The drinks are not super good… but there’s a nice vibe

Good ingredients well prepared speak for themselves, and I would certainly award 4.5 stars if I could, but, whilst the adage proved true, there was something missing in how the parts came together to surprise and delight. We came for lunch and I appreciated the excellent service and the healthy ingredients. All three courses contained barbequed vegetables, the beetroot starter was excellent, as was the low temperature cod, although the chared corn and white chocolate dessert, whilst novel, was not something I will soon find myself craving, and the barbequed carrot with the cod was fine, but to be honest I think well roasted vegetables are more delicious, and cod prepared with a bit of a golden crust in the pan also has a greater variety of texture. All in all a great lunch in a lovely city, just not perhaps a five star experience.

We selected this restaurant for our 1st year wedding anniversary. As soon as we came in, we were offered a very warm welcome and given s choice of 2 tables. One was by the wall, the other by the window. My wife chose to stay by the window and the staff were more than happy to cover the entrance with a curtain so there wouldn't be any draft or cold coming from the door. Next they offered to take our coats and put them away. Once we sat down, we were debating whether to go for the full 8 dish tasting menu or the smaller 6-piece one. As it was a special occasion, we went for the larger one. Even though we had some dietary requirements that we didn't communicate beforehand, the host was more than happy to accommodate them. The food served was delicious and the texture and ingredients combination were fascinating. As my wife had specified in the booking that we were celebrating a special event, the staff surprised us with an extra dessert, a celebration candle for each plate and a lovely note on behalf of the establishment. We really appreciated this surprise. For each and every course, the hosts gave us a detailed breakdown of the ingredients. Overall it was a very nice and thoughtful gastronomical experience and we would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a special dinner.

We went for lunch, and had the 3-course menu. Very good food for a very reasonable price, and nice selection of small wine producers as well as some nice local beers on draft. Good and welcoming service!

We were truly blown away by the exceptional quality of the food, the friendliness of the service and the incredible value for money. This is a Michelin Guide recognised restaurant providing a fabulous 2-course lunch with an amuse-bouche and Petit four for just €29 per person! The wine is excellent and very reasonably priced and the ambience is very relaxed. The Pollack, cauliflower and citrus main course was a sublime dish of flavours and textures with an incredibly ingenious vegetable “caviar” while the Strawberry, pepper and white chocolate dessert was a flavour sensation - I’m not usually a dessert lover but the combination of strawberry and pepper swayed me and it was a delightful and creative bowl.

Michelin-level experience. The waiters are super kind and each dish had that balanced unforgettable umami taste. Worth repeating!

Brigand represent the other side of Lille, the more modern, focused on biological cuisine, organic wines and with a relaxed atmosphere. It has a shared dining concept where 2/3 plates per person makes for a dinner. The menu is not big but it has just enough variety, the beef tataki is just wonderful and was our favorite. They offer also a charcuterie board and little desserts. Wine lists is strictly organic and biological but with a pretty nice range, prices are on the high side but worth the experience.

Very wonderful bakery shop / cafe like a creation of art. The displayed pastries were so perfectly arranged and looked delicious. The chandeliers, glass work enhanced the look of the boutique further. The open air garden cafe very nice , staff kind and polite , helpful. In the shop the goods are well displayed with price tags so easy to identify. The display shelves are so pretty and the colour combination very unique. Overall this is more like a pretty waffle or bakery museum and I loved my time here. I enjoyed vanilla waffle . Wanted to sit down in garden cafe so had also queued for the waiting line but it rained heavily suddenly so left in the middle and this time happy only with the wonderful waffle, will return next week or soon for a coffee and pastry .

How can this be anything but 5*? The pastries, the service, the setting, the shop, the history, everything is impeccable and the price point is reasonable. I think Meert may be a victim of its own reputation, as it is busy and people clearly expect perfection, but in our experience it lived up to it, and of all our culinary experiences in Lille this will be the one I remember forever.

The mille-feuille was absolutely delicious, and the éclair was good, but I didn’t really like the dark chocolate. I really enjoyed the waffle because it was unique and different from the usual. The atmosphere of the place was wonderful, and the best part was the excellent service. Unfortunately, I didn’t make it in time for lunch.

The food here was decent – both the main course and dessert were fine, but nothing particularly memorable. What really took away from the experience, though, was the attitude of one of the staff members, who came across as quite arrogant. I was hoping for a warmer, more inviting atmosphere, but everything felt a bit cold and flat. For the price point, I expected better service and a more enjoyable overall experience.

Monsieur Jean takes the unnecessary class and showmanship away from service while still being professional. This restaurant is AMAZING. Located in a very beautiful square in Lille right in the city center. The service was very professional and friendly. We had a degustation with 2 starters 1 main course and one desert. Plus some different kinds of bread and butter and appetizers and some home made sweets at the end. Everything was absolutely delicious, as you can se by the photos. Price quality it was worth every cent you pay for it. Over all it was a Amazing experience!

I asked for a table by the window if possible when I reserved a table on La Fourchette. See what view I got! It’s was prefect spot. I ordered set of 33€ as I can’t eat beef nor lamb and therefore I couldn’t order à la carte. The set of 33€ has one entree, one main course, and one dessert. Everything was very tasty. Main course was fish and risotto. Usually I couldn’t finish risotto as the sauce usually was quite heavy. However it was not the case tonight. It was lighter and I surprisingly finished everything! Service was great too! The restaurant is decorated very nicely:)

Spent a fantastic evening here in March 2022. The service was excellent and friendly the entire time, the food was incredible with nice small touches here and there, and we got a corner table by the window with a wonderful view to the square. Absolutely would recommend.

A great way to end our stay in Lille. This restaurant is superb. We were very lucky to get the last table for two (we hadn't booked - recommend that you do!). The food was amazing. Great wines. Fantastic! Excellent menu and at a good price in a charming building. Very welcoming and accommodating staff. They were happy to find us a table at 19h for a quick service before the cinema without a reservation. Reservations are advised though, especially for the upstairs with the fantastic views over the square. Servings are packed with flavour and not heavy like a lot of the local Flemish cuisine. Would highly recommend and will certainly be visiting again and again.

The restaurant was very nice and they specialise in seafood. The starters were excellent, highly recommend the calamari. Tried the black ink pasta with seafood as a main, lots of seafood on the plate however it had a cream base which did not reflect the Unami from seafood. In general, a very good restaurant.

Is this one of the best restaurants in Lille? I have to say I was sceptical regarding both the menu (which doesn't sound appealing at all, lacking details in the ingredients - it doesn't make you dream), and the prices (high! Probably the most expensive restaurant in Vieux Lille), but then I had two courses and they were just superb. New flavours mixed with familiar ones, these are not dished but culinary experiences. Love it and going back super soon!

I when to Quai 38 in Lille with family friends for birthday 🎂 lunch we was welcome by a friendly staff, we had a drink 🍸then we order lunch i had beef,and the others had fish 🐟 food was great and then the desert 🏜😀 was super great and i will recommend Quai 38 to my friends and i will definitely go back there.

We tried their 7-course tasting menu. They were able to accommodate for food allergies. Standout courses: the mussels (I enjoyed the creative liberties they took with the ingredients) and the fish (great balance of flavours and textures). While it was a pleasant meal, I didn't feel like the 7-course menu was necessarily better than if we'd just ordered the 5-course one. The extra lobster dish was alright, and there was only a tiny piece of lobster meat. The extra dessert was quite mediocre and very sweet.

Lovely small intimate restaurant. The food was really good (my favourite being the Dorad fish course). We also had the wine pairing, which while the wines were nice in isolation, they were not complimentary to the dish at all. I feel this was just inexperience from a very young set of staff. The one exception was the wine we had with the cheese which was odd on its own but great with the cheese. The staff were lovely and friendly without being overbearing.

We had a truly wonderful dinner at Rouge Barre. The décor exudes a calm, welcoming ambiance, and the staff were both attentive and impressively knowledgeable. The food was absolutely delicious. We opted for the five-course menu and added the cheese selection as an extra treat—an excellent choice we thoroughly enjoyed. It’s rare to find such outstanding quality and service at such a reasonable price. Bravo, Rouge Barre!

Edit: The management should spend as much time on serving her clients as she does on responding to Google reviews. I live locally to this place and the service is terrible!! The chef is not bad, so the food was worth returning for. We came back, we were seated and then ignored for 20 minutes. We asked multiple people working if we could place our order. Everyone said only the blonde woman at the bar could do that so we needed to wait for her. We waited and waited. When she finally came we expressed that we had waited a long time for her to come. Instead of apologizing she became very defensive that we weren’t the only people in the place and everyone had to wait. At that point we told her we were going to leave and she was very huffy about it all. Next time, just own up to your mistakes Madame. It’s better for everyone and makes you look less condescending and rude.

An utterly weak representation of Italian cuisine. To begin, the starter was a poor attempt at a Fritto Misto, instead of a light fluffy batter - the chef used a combination of bread crumbs and a heavy batter. The vegetables them self were not sliced thinly, but chopped in cubes instead. The main course would have been fine, had the sauce been mixed through the linguine, but instead I was confronted with a clump of plain linguine stuck together - not appetising at all! Both myself and my dinner companion left more than half of our main courses - the front of house to explained that this was because their cuisine was simply 'not to our tastes'. Next time, I'll stick to what I know to be great Italian food in Lille: La Bottega (8 bis Rue de Pétérinck) and La Tramontana ( 33 Rue d'Isly).

Place is nice but food is not as expected. I have never tried a rissoto worst than that. Rice was extremely cooked and it seemed that they mixed cooked write rice with the mushrooms and sauce instead of cooking the rice with the ingredients to get a real rissoto. I won’t come back.

Peaceful and warm atmosphere. The staff’s attention to details and meticulous care does not go unnoticed. When you order regardless of who comes to bring it they know who ordered what without asking. The food was excellent and arrived pretty fast. The only reason I don’t give 5/5 is that the appetiser could have used some lemon juice (salmon tartare) but it’s my personal taste. I had duck with green pepper sauce which was to die for. I got out full but not too much, calm and happy.

The place is nice. When you want to go out for a nice dinner, it's a nice place to go to. The day we went there, I think our server was not having the best day on his life. He was a nice person, I think, maybe just not day. I'm not being polite. I'm trying to be factual and objective. I think I was expecting a lot from the food and that's why was not completely happy. Not that it's not good. It's good. I think I was expecting great and didn't get it that day. But that was my dish. My friend's dish was AWEsome! He had the kidneys. And another friend who ordered the same dish as mine (the 7 hours' lamb) had better tasting meat than mine. I'm telling you, it's a nice place. Go there. It just probably wasn't my day. Nor that of our server 🤷🏽‍♀️

We went for the cheaper set menu and that may have been a mistake. All courses underwhelming. ( And that was the response from 2 of the 4 of us) Mistakes made with our order ( may have been a translation issue) waiting staff didn't know certain dishes were sold out, service could have been more slick. Wine was great. Ambience could have been better. Ultimately not my kind of place.

The experience in general was great. The place was welcoming and well-separated, and the service was very generous. The food overall was good. There were 3 dishes that were extraordinary in flavor and emotions that you are equally happy you had but frustrated you will not have more, and 2 others that weren't our taste. The wines that were recommended were an excellent addition to the experience. The only "problem" I find in this evening is the time this voyage takes (speaking mostly for couples with babies): For a 7-course night, we spent just over 3h and we escaped the coffee. I supposed that if we were to stay it was going to be 4h easily. Just a heads up. Great place that I will visit again.

Exceptionally creative and delicious food! Very attentive and welcoming service.

A mixed experience. A few good dishes among many others that felt like experiments. The chef is undeniably skilled, but should perhaps focus more on the produce and simpler preparations. The sommelier was not up to the task and made some very questionable suggestions, out of a seriously overpriced wine list (more than 100 euros for a muscadet!). The room could do with a modern renovation.

Not necessarily value for money but an interesting visit!

Fantastic dinner, the food was amazing and the wine too. We sat outside on the terrace which was lovely! Very friendly staff… this is the perfect location to enjoy a long, cozy dinner in the evening bliss.

The four of us had a fabulous meal here. I recommend this place. Every dish was well presented with beautiful flavours. Accompanying vegetables were perfectly cooked and as delicious as the fish.

It’s a really nice restaurant. The style is traditional with a strong personality. The service is just perfect. The desserts were tasty but… I didn’t felt free to have the simplicity of what I like. For the salad … I love old school ones at the restaurant… with lettuces fir example… the dressing was just right . Everything was great to be honest except that I found that something was missing. I didn’t have a dessert because it was too complicated for me. Too modern . I would have love a chocolate cake something we all would agreed with

Cool place and where we were able to book a table on a Sunday evening during a long weekend. Even though the menu seemed a bit bizarre at first, the mix of ingredients was pleasant. We found the amuse-bouche and the entrée (samossa) very tasty. The filet de boeuf, however, was almost raw (too raw; we weren’t asked if we liked it cooked), and just too cold. In fact, the whole restaurant was cold, my arms were freezing, and our food, which didn’t arrive hot, became even colder within minutes… The figs were drowning in vanilla sauce, so we couldn’t actually taste them, which was a shame. I believe that for the price of the meal (120 euros for 2 persons), the restaurant could at least be more comfortable temperature-wise.

Great place, we had steak and tuna - unfortunately for me that day it was only seafood option. I don’t like tuna and cauliflower option did not seem so good. So I can’t rate well enough, but steak boyfriend said was good. Bread and sides were nice

We started with Tataki de Thon. Tasted very good. Then Supreme de Volaille which was also perfect. We finished with Assiette de Fromages and Millefeuille aux Fraises. Really nice too. Everything was perfect. We´ll be back.

Very friendly and attentive service. However I didn’t expect my dish- sea bream to be half cooked. Maybe is because i don’t understand French (I’m not sure if it’s mentioned in the menu that is is rather raw), but I felt the taste is a little fishy since it is half cooked. Couldn’t finish the dish because half raw sea bream is not really my taste. Overall is special taste but just not my liking.

Quality at all stars We had the reservation for my birthday in this restaurant i Can say : it just made my day! Very cordial and professional service, the food was top quality from the starters till the coffe. We took the daily lunch menu: 28 euros for that amazing food, where was offered the water( half liter) + the coffee: was more then worth it. the meat of the main course was that well cooked that was melting in the mouth! France has a more then deserved reputation for the high quality of the food - and N'Autre Monde in Lille , just proved it , again! Merci a Bientot! :)

This is a great restaurant to go to prior to a concert at Decathlon Stadium. The food and service are excellent and so is the wine menu. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal (dessert was amazing!) and highly recommend this place.

Good food, good service. Menu in English available, but this lacks the special menus. The 10 year old port wine was delicious, the food was nicely presented and tasted very well too. Guests can use the A3 parking of the stadium, but we didn't use this.

Perfect doesn't begin to describe the experience here. The fact that such a small staff can deliver such flawless food and service is astonishing. We were a large group and every dish came out beautifully prepared. If they don't end up with a Michelin star rating, then the system is broken. Bravo!

I'm so glad I had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant, which I randomly found on Google Maps. The staff was very friendly, the chef François offered the red wine Château de Chausse, which perfectly accompanied the meal. The lunch started with an appetizer composed of 4 parts, each was delicious. Best of all was something I never tasted before - mayonnaise with grape must (moût de raisin), which was fantastic! Then came the cheese starter and I was off to a great start. It was so good on its own, I barely touched the accompanied bread. Then came the main course - the fish with baked vegetables, which was beautifully presented and tasty as well. Finally the highlight of the meal - the brilliantly executed Île Flottante by Mathéo. The ingenuity of the chef and the masterful execution really made me want to come again and try more dishes, next time I'm in Lille. Highly recommend!

5/5 doesn’t do this restaurant justice. Really it needs to be rated 100%. From minute one the staff were fantastic! The champagne and wine were brilliant. And the food! Wow you wanted to lick the plate. I would recommend the tasting menu - each course we felt they couldn’t beat and they kept coming! Best value for money I’ve spent - and we’ve eaten at Michelin * and AA rosettes restaurants. Very small venue so would recommend booking in advance - they were turning people away.

Pardon my French, but this was the worst dining experience I’ve ever had. I rarely leave reviews—only when something truly delights me or deeply disappoints me. Sadly, this time it’s the latter. I was really looking forward to discovering a local gem, hoping for a charming French evening with good food and wine. Instead, I left feeling sick—literally and figuratively. The menu was a fixed tasting experience, with no option to choose individual dishes. What followed was a confusing journey of flavors that didn’t belong together. Luke-warm oysters with sweet jelly, cod with mushrooms and dried rose petals, snails, duck, beef… it felt like all possible proteins were thrown onto the table, with little thought to balance or digestion. I enjoy creative cuisine, but this felt more like chaos on a plate than a culinary experience. I couldn’t even finish some of these dishes because they didn’t taste nice at all. To make matters worse, the wine we were offered wasn’t listed on the menu. We later found it online for €10, only to be charged €50 on our bill. That left a very sour taste—especially after paying so much for a meal that ended up making me sick - literally and figuratively. I spent the next day recovering, unable to have any food because of how unsettled my stomach was. Sometimes, better really is the enemy of good. A well-prepared, simple dish beats an overthought plate of mismatched flavors any day. Unfortunately, this restaurant seems more focused on being “experimental” than enjoyable. I genuinely hope this review saves someone from making the same mistake

Really friendly atmosphere, attentive waiter. Happy to answer all questions about the menu etc . A brilliant evening. Food felt lovingly prepared and tasted delicious with beautiful presentation. So glad we chose to come here.

The place doesn’t look great, quite small and the interior boring. The appetiser was served without any bread. Water was never offered through the meal. I was given a bottle of wine that is worth €10 and charged €50 for it. It took a long time from when we sat until someone came to take our order. It took even longer between a dish and the next. 1/3 of the place was empty, on a Saturday night (which is quite telling). The pictures don’t match the portion size we got. Overall the restaurant tried too hard to be a Michelin starred restaurant when it should focus on getting the basics right. Lot of room for improvement and it doesn’t deserve its current rating.

The chef's tasting menu was delicious. I had the vegetarian food and it was excellent. Each dish was presented and explained, and it each of the eight courses was a delight. This was the best food we had in Lille.

Enjoyed the five-course tasting menu €63, with the wine pairing (3 glasses) and bread that kept coming. All dishes were pretty good (taste and presentation) - the sea bass (third photo/course) was definitely the standout dish.

I liked it so much here that I went twice in three days! Bistronomy dishes, I should say creations, at his best at a fair price, very good service, not too loud music, cosy atmosphere and decoration. I took the three-course menu at 39€: I had the macquerel with roquette cream and artichokes, then the duck breast with beetroot and young carrots and a reduced jus and finally, rhubarb and strawberry with sorbets and a creamy white chocolate. That dish is one one of the best desserts I've ever had. I had it again the second time I went. No need to say I'll definitely go back!

Excellent ! We had a fantastic experience 3 years ago in this restaurant and we came again in the beautiful city of Lille, and decided to renew the experience. It was again very good with well balanced menu, good wines and great friendly service. The atmosphere in the restaurant was very nice.

Lunch was excellent, from beginning to end. We were a group of 10 people that arrived late due to unexpected traffic. The staff was extremely understanding and welcoming, helping to ease our stress. The meal was one of the highlights of our trip. Merci infiniment pour votre accueil et le superbe déjeuner!

Very nice food - we did the 5 course tasting menu with wine. We were able to swap one of the courses due to preference which was appreciated. The wine pairing was decent too. The restaurant itself is pretty. Chill vibe and a bar too. The service was not great. We ended up there for almost 3 hours for a 5 course menu which felt much too long. And this was even with us asking them to bring some courses sooner.

A totally awesome culinary experience with this Lille restaurant. One of us had the tasting menu and the other one appetiser & one main. The tasting menu had 5 courses, including beef tartare, tuna, cod, duck & a dessert. All were perfectly executed & presented. Portions were big too. We were quite blown away. Very happy with our choice.

Enjoyed a very nice meal. Nice compact menu with different options. The food was very nice and the service very good. I enjoyed the scallops as a starter and the duck as a main course. I had to share the desert with the wife, luckily, as it was more than enough.

My boyfriend found this wonderful restaurant on the Michelin guide and surprised me with a date night here. I chose the 5 course with the 5 wine pairings and could not have been happier! 🥰 Likke many French restaurants, Sébastopol specialises in natural wines. Each selected wine paired perfectly with each dish. Our favorite dish was definitely the egg dish. It was very well cooked and had a delicate and balanced flavors. We could have ordered a second from how much we liked it! The cherry of the meal was the cherry dessert! We highly recommend you try this as long as it's on their menu. 🍒 The staff was extremely attentive and friendly, and explained everything about each dish to us in English. Quite possibly the best dinner I’ve had in all of France!! The food was delicious and very well presented. Our waiter was attentive and very helpful. He happily assisted us with wine selections and even answered all of my questions, despite my basic level of understanding French. For fellow Americans visiting, don’t be discouraged by the restaurant’s location. It is situated next door to the theater, but appears to be in an area where most of the businesses cater to the university crowds. However, the interior was pleasantly decorated and had a warm and slightly modern atmosphere. We would definitely dine at the Sébastopol again!!

We had a wonderful meal on our first night in Lille. My companion said it was the best meal she had been served in a very long time. I agree! Both the entree and plat were huge. Too bad we didn't have room for dessert. Very inexpensive also.

Small restaurant but their food is rich of flavour. Some fusion that you might not expect. I had the fish, and it was one of the best fish I had ever tried. So fresh, skin was crispy although they have creamy coconut sauce in it. My husband had the fillet mignon pork, it was also really tender and flavourful. Another place that I recommend if you are visiting Lille. The oeuf parfait was not the best, but main dishes were perfectly good. Their location is a bit far from the center, but you will not disappoint to take a bit road to this restaurant.

Great small restaurant with Michelin brand. There are about 35 places to sit. Personnel is very kind and tells you everything about the meal you have on your plate.

Although the restaurant has a nice atmosphere and the staff does make an effort, it is still not what you would expect from a raffiné restaurant. There are 2 choices of menu with 2 plates each, so you would expect it to be awesome, and it was tasteless and cold. The steak was half nerves. The lamb was half fat. Also, we asked for ice and salt, it took forever to come. When it came, The food was cold and the ice tasted moldy, which was weird.

The food was great! We had the 3-course menu including wine. The price-quality ratio was incredibly good. We even had an amuse before and after. The hostess was incredibly good and made us feel at home. Highly recommended!!

What an amazing place! You'd fall in love with the concept if you are a massive board game fan. We were left in awe by their collection of games and also the kindness of the staff. Must try if you visit Lille. Edit after 2 years: Came in again after 2 years but this time for longer time. Nothing much has changed in terms of vibes but the food is expensive and not qualitative. You can get a lot better food for the same price outside.

Friendly staff and good food. There’s a huge selection of board games, and it costs only 5€ per person. Also, no need to worry about the instructions, there’s people in charge of explaining the game rules to each table. It gets packed in the weekend so it’s recommendable to make a reservation on their website. On top of that, it would be nice to have some of the food from the brunch menu for dinner.

Great place for Brunch, I had the pancake tower, which was plentiful and tasty, the peanut smoothie to go with it was unusual in a good way. The place itself is large and welcoming and the staff were friendly and helpful. We didn't get the chance to stay for a game or two, but will definitely be back!

Has the potential to be an amazing bar but unfortunately the service was far below average. We were told we weren’t allowed to play our own card games because they offer games to play - they wanted to charge us €5pp to play our own game… staff came across very rude and unfriendly. Disappointing as looked really good from reviews!

Direct view on the Chef's cuisine and how his brigade efficiently works, in what seems a very quiet and oiled mechanic. Fascinating. Food & cuisine wise, the Michelin Star is well deserved. The signature Langoustine with beetroot, horseraddish & dill, is just a must have : textures and tastes echoing one another are a masterpiece. The Pork Loin with black garlic and celtuce, was just cooked at perfection. Pan fried foie gras, quince & hazelnut, perfumed bouillon : amazing how Foie gras and hazelnut works together well. Clementine, thyme & sweet potatoe. Service was efficient and friendly all along. Strongly recommend.

Le Restaurant du Cerisier is the highlight of my weekend food trip to Lille, and also the most expensive. While it may seem a bit pricey compared to most other local restaurants, it’s definitely worth it with the quality of ingredients they use. I had the 7-course Menu Quintessence and it was excellent value even for €159. The meal started with a selection of really pretty and delicious Amouse-Bouche. I then had 4 different plates for my starters, with the highlights being the ‘La Langoustine’ and the ‘Le Thon au Poivre’. Both were magnificent, but the best dish I’ve has that evening was the Tuna, with a pepper and shallot sauce, topped with grated truffle. Honestly, it was the best Tuna I’ve had in my life!! I then had the Turbot as my main, which was quite good but not as good as that amazing Tuna. There were then two desserts, which were both nice and beautifully prepared. If there was any weak portions of the menu, then it was the dessert. I found it overall a bit sour and I thought they both needed a bit more sweetness (although I might just be a sweet tooth). I did like the ‘La Cerise’ the most from all the sweet, it was nicely balanced with vanilla and cherry. The Sélection de mignardises was a nice end to such a great meal. I had to give extra points for the wonderful service. They did their best to explain everything in English and I really appreciate the warmth and hospitality all evening - they were definitely a lot nicer than the typical French hospitality.

Truly wonderful - it would be tragic to miss this incredible experience. Really friendly ,welcoming and rapid service but truly outstanding food. All fantastic,but I can’t forget the gin jelly +tonic foam starter, anchovy and liquorice amuse bouche, and socks blown off by chickpea,lime and sea urchin main. Great pear and chestnut desert.

Very nice athmosphere, friedly service. Food is good with some room for improvement. The sauce was for dorade too heavy. The served bread was horrible. The tuna (entrée) was great, also the sauce that was served with the tuna fit well. The taste of the charcutery of the mixed plate could be improved. The cheese and the graved salmon of this plate tasted very good. Wine was very good.

However both the sandwich and the salad were both quite tasteless. Also there were a few rotten leaves in my salad :/

I came here for a nice crêpe to finish my visit in France. After I had this crêpe with banana and chocolate I was satisfied, but when I saw other creperies with their toppings and quantities I felt a bit disappointed. Next time I will think twice and look around a bit better. The good thing is they didn't use Nutella.

My experience at this place was incredibly disappointing. Despite the fact that there were only three other occupied tables, we had to wait for nearly 30 minutes for our croissants to arrive. To make matters worse, when we inquired about our order, the waiter's attitude was surprisingly rude. Eventually, our croissants were served, but to our dismay, they were cold. When we politely requested them to be heated, the staff showed no empathy or understanding, leaving us with no choice but to leave the establishment feeling unsatisfied and frustrated. I cannot recommend this place based on the lackluster service and unimpressive treatment we received.

Very nicely located and decorated restaurant. Many waiters, but we still had to wait 1 hour for our food. We were not in a rush, so we didn’t say anything, but it seemed a bit excessive especially since we were the first clients to be there and the only ones for a while. The mussels portion was very generous, even though most mussels were small. The sole meunière was very good, but to serve it only with French fries seems very bizarre (why not boiled potatoes or some vegetables?).

I recently dined at Aux Moules de Lille, and it was an outstanding experience that truly captures the essence of this charming city. We enjoyed an excellent moules frites that was simply perfect—a classic dish that lives up to its reputation in Lille. To start, we ordered the crevettes grises with mayonnaise, which were fresh and flavorful, setting a delightful tone for the meal. The combination of the tender shrimp with the creamy, homemade mayo was a fantastic introduction to what was to come. For dessert, we indulged in the classic crêpe Suzette, and it was a delightful way to end our meal. The crêpes were expertly made and served with a delicious orange sauce that added just the right amount of sweetness. Overall, our experience at Aux Moules de Lille was thoroughly enjoyable, marked by delicious food and a warm atmosphere. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Lille who wants to savor authentic local cuisine!

Service was lacking. The manager seemed to be very busy but not actually doing anything. There was one young server who was working extremely hard. He was taking orders from multiple tables, serving food and taking payments (we could not fault him), but they seemed very understaffed. Food was mediocre. The mussels were bland and the salmon dish was cold, however we could not get anyone's attention to rectify this.

We visited this restaurant for dinner yesterday and it was by far the best food experience we've had in France. We usually go to places where we can see a lot of local elderly population eat so that trick worked wonders with this too. The place is amazingly presented and the staff were the stars of the day trying to help us despite the language barriers. The sea food platter was great and was very reasonably priced compared to other places we've visited, this might be cos we have just come from Luxembourg where sea food tends to be 10 fold more expensive than here. I tried the frog legs for the first time despite being warned that it's an acquired taste. It was pretty good and I can buy into that. The salad was ok too. Loved the experience, would revisit!

Korean couple with two young kids. Arrived 15 min earlier than the opening hour (19:00) in a freezing evening but the server was really nice to get us in so the kids could be in a warm place. Excellent server and really nice marinated mussels. Priced decently. A place I truly commend.

Foods are very fresh and good, especially seafood. Luckily we chose this restaurant dispute the low review marking. But, we took 3 hours for the dinner, haha.

Good mocktails, coffee and beer. Great lively atmosphere. Pleasant quick service. But the waffles were disgusting. Like something wet, two days old and partially reheated from a gas station bag. Overpriced due to that. If you want to sit and grab a beer, great place, otherwise, go around the corner and get some good waffles.

Horrible. We have been waiting for more than 50 min for 2 mains. My partner’s moules frites we’re ok, but my main came out cold, the chips as well. I asked the waitress for a new one, it took again 30 min so my partner has been eating alone, so I m have too. When my main came again (barely hot again but I was hungry so I started eating). The meal was terrible. Very had and chewy and so much fat. Really bad peace of meat in it (carbonade). The waiter had been nice though, he did not charge me for my carbonade and he agreed that this day had been chaotic for the kitchen, that they did not expect so many people. But what do you expect in the most popular place of Lille, a Saturday lunch when it’s a beautiful hot sunny summer day?!!! Come on! Table was dirty with stains and the toilets were horrible. So dirty

I ordered goats cheese salad and chips. Salad swimming in olive oil, chips were stone cold. Could have done better myself!

Breakfast was good. Went for the budget offer of croissant, orange juice and a tea for €4. Food and drink was good. A bigger choice of breakfast was available. Service was good, the staff were friendly and helpful. On the corner of the City Square. Definitely worth the trip.

To be honest , I was very looking forward to visit this Michelin 1 start restaurant , but turn into quite disappointed in the end . The service is one man show , only one waitress to serve the whole night with 6 tables of guests , service woman is fine and friendly , even she is busy , but ok ! The problem is the food quality and the speed , it’s kind of rush ! Main course fish with raw cauliflower not only not tasteful but also not pretty presented!!After the not very pleasant and tasteful main course , comes old Yellowish Lettuce with cheese is getting difficult to accept !! ( see pic ) Whole night we never see the chef and as I said before , just one waitress ! Maybe the main Chef even not there ? As a Michelin star restaurant, we didn’t expect high class expensive materials , but with the price compared to what you have at the table , it’s quite a big disappointment!! At least the lettuce could be fresh and crisp !!

Had one of the most memorable dinners of the year in this place. Young chef combines flavours in a very creative, surprising way resulting in wonderfully tasty dishes. All-in formula offers excellent value for money. Service was friendly, efficient and relaxed.
