Coffee here was excellent! We came here twice, for lunch and breakfast, and both times were fantastic. The coffee is very well made and one of the best we have had in New Zealand. Food was also good and the menu was diverse with tasty healthy options as well. The service was great and the staff very nice.

Really nuce place, food was great. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Can be very busy due to being so popular so advise going early morning.

Went there today for the first time. Overall, it was good but not a 5 star experience because coffee was served ahead of food and got cold by the time I finished my food. The person who took my order didnt ask when I wanted my coffee:( food was ok but the poached egg was overcooked and toast was soaked by mushroom juice and not crispy.

This place was busy on a Sunday at 10am and I can see why. Lots of street parking and good vibes. The filter coffees (Tanzania, mondul on washed) was so smooth and warming. The porridge special really hit the spot for me (make sure you use the cream). The highlight was the green grocer cauliflower, it was huge and unbelievably tasty. You wouldn't even know it was vegan. Thoroughly enjoyed the coffee, food and great atmosphere.

Breakfast? In the sun? You had me at Breakfast! What an amazing way to spend the first part of the day. Located in the peaceful Wood area, this Cafe has the chops to make you smile. Starting with a cheerful greeting as we opened to door we were quickly seated and given menus and asked if we wanted coffee. This coffee came and it was delicious. A bitter roast, but delightfully fragrant. Reading through the menu had made me quite peckish, so I ordered "The Lumberjack", Bobby Frank's version of the full breakfast, with eggs, tomatoes, bacon, sausage, black pudding, beans and rosti served on sourdough toast. I also added a side of mushrooms, just to top things off! Everything on the plate was cooked perfectly. The poached eggs were full and runny, the bacon crispy, and the rosti was fresh and tasty. Finishing up, I cleaned up my plate using the last bit of sausage to wipe up some egg yolk. Perfect. My wife ordered eggs and bacon in toast, also with a side of mushrooms, and she polished her plate off with equal gusto. In closing, the staff were very helpful and friendly, the cafe had a cheerful and busy atmosphere, and the food was incredible. What a great way to start the day.

Bobby Franks Cafe is absolutely, hands down the best, the very best in Nelson. So much so that we went back twice in a row to have brunch because it's that dam good. There is absolutely nothing bad to say....100% the best in food, atmosphere and service. This bustling Cafe is very telling when you see how packed out it is each day. From the moment you enter you are greeted by the most hip, friendly staff and although they are buzzing around serving people they will still make you feel welcome, you are quickly seated and they even take your order at your table. Their coffee is delicious!!!! The turmeric, ginger, honey, cayenne pepper shot is to die for, served hot or cold....hot is my favorite. The food is incredibly delicious. If you happen to visit during winter be sure to try their porridge, it's creamy delicious fulls you up a treat, I just love the praline that gives a little crunch every so often and the toasted coconut, along with the berries is oh so good. We love the Feta scrambled eggs and chilli and just their poached eggs with bacon is devine. They have a nice menu but also a cabinet full of delightful treats. This place just buzzes with people constantly, in fact you never want to leave. We totally recommend this amazing Cafe!

What a fantastic spot! The coffee and brunch was super delicious but I have to say the stand-out was the service. Our waitress (Ro, I think?) went above and beyond to accommodate our party of six for my birthday and could not have been friendlier or nicer. A top spot - popular and clearly for a reason! I had the poached eggs and grilled halloumi and it was really gourmet and generous size wise dish 👌 Staff extremely friendly, lovely atmosphere and cosy setting amongst trees. Truly recommending.

Fantastic food and coffee. Traditional brunch good as well as gourmet burgers and beautifully presented tacos and quesadillas. Pleasant outdoor seating area for lunch in the sun or shade.

Been for lunch 5 or 6 times. Most of time there is room but extensive dining outdoors can be chilly so take jacket. Limited space inside and very dark and not best experience inside. Message to owners, put more lights in! But saying that love the food so go back. Very relaxed vibe.

Incredible food, had chorizo breakfast tacos and buttermilk pancakes with fried chicken- both amazing, best brunch in a long time! Quick service great vibes all round

Smoked salmon bagels to takeaway - reached our picnic spot and opened the box containing our bagels. What an amazing surprise - very generous piece of hot smoked salmon x 2. Enough for our bagels and then some to take home for supper. Never had that before. I always go for smoked salmon bagels when they are available at different cafes. These have out ranked them all. To add to the great experience the staff were incredibly friendly, quick on the service, joking with each other as they worked and clean toilets. A great find. Thank you very much. The sweet treats have come home with us and they will be enjoyed later. Cheers Kathy

DeVille food has never let me down. The ingredients are always fresh and beautifully presented. These eggs featured in Country Calendar! They are famous for keeping their shape! ☺️ The food is always tastier than you expect. 🤯 Generous portions, perfectly cooked! Always busy but plenty of indoor or outdoor seating. Polished, friendly staff. We didn't have to wait long either. Their blackboard menu is always amazing. Reasonably priced. Hot chocolates - on point! Decore is trendy (arty) in it's sustainability, and comfortable. You are not rushed out. It's just a great place to hang out... It can be full, and buzzing with chatter, but it's such a great atmosphere no-one seems to notice. Great music playing at a reasonable background level finished off the good vibes. A definite fan of this restaurant.

This cafe & bar, is tucked away 1 minute down a side road in the CBD, is well worth discovering. Enjoyed breakfast here, the coffee and food were of a high standard and the staff were friendly, efficient and welcoming. There are choices of seating inside and outside in the lovely covered courtyard surrounded by trees. They have live music. The cafe has good mobility access. A lovely warm and sunny location.

This hidden away cafe is worth the effort to find. Not visible from the street it is on ground floor of a Radiology business. only a small sandwich sign outside.We arrived 10am on a Monday and I was a lil disappointed at the small selection of cabinet food available... particularly after the reviews I had read..... But the chocolate and date pastry was delish. The decor style is just a pleasure to the eye and service was both polite and prompt.

Good coffee and hot chocolate. Art on the hot chocolate was particularly spectacular. No WIFI though meaning I unfortunately had to engage in some conversation.

Great place, great coffee/earl grey and the almond croissant are amazing. I came here two times, just for the croissants. Staff is very friendly. No credit cards so don’t forget to bring cash

The interior design feature here has got my attention firstly . The old pieces plus new stuff works well. The tile paved on entrance floor and also some on kitchen wall,The kitchen shelve, the old bench desk second hand cabinetry, the old wood fire frame and the new concrete curve wall etc, all match comfortably well. I like sitting here for eating embraced by such nice atmosphere

The BEST almond croissants. Catered for our friend's wedding brunch beautifully, and so easy to collect! Thanks so much for looking after this aspect so well. The wedding was epic! The Bakers has become my regular cafe because the cinnamon morning buns are possibly the best pastries I have ever had. Worth going just for these. As a bonus, the coffee is always delicious and never sour, and the music and energy of the place is top tier. Nelson has so many fantastic offerings for coffee but the bakers has to be one of the best. It’s a little pricey but the whole experience makes it worth it.

Absolutely amazing pastries. Staffs are super friendly and welcoming. This will be my last cafe time in NZ. Thank you for making me good memories. I will miss the bread mmmmm. Atmosphere in the cafe is warm and cozy. I love it.

Great cafe! Amazing food. Good coffee. Chefs special was beautiful! I found the mixed veges were a bit soggy but that's just a personal preference. Food wasn't salted but they had salt shakers at the counter.

Decent quick and easy cabinet food when you are in a rush and a nice menu when you have time to chill. Great atmosphere and good coffee.

Such lovely food here, how it was served was not at all how I imagined it but it certainly gave it more flavour than I'd imagined! It was tasty, the textures ticked all levels 😍 although ot took some time for the to come out. I'd have 5 stars otherwise. I'm not sure what the reason was for this, no body mentioned any.

Good food. Pity that the customer before me bought the last cheese scone...hope I can try it in the future.

Came across the gallery/Cafe just by chance and so glad I did. I was served by a delightfully charming young woman, Clarice, who went out of her way to make me feel special. Coffees great and a wonderful colorful space with marvelous art work. Highly recommend

Always a visit with my female family members when I am in Nelson. Love everything about Red from the coffee to enjoying perusing the gallery. The gallery space has been extended where there are more seating areas to enjoy food treats. Beautiful designs; pottery, art, jewellery, books from many artists. Very cute gallery and cafe combo! A fun space to enjoy a morning drink while out for a stroll. The shop has lots of beautiful jewellery and art pieces, baby clothes and toys, cards and books.

Nice cafe here with good coffee and baking, bagels if you like them. The gallery always gives you something nice to look at. Staff pretty slow in producing coffees even when relatively quiet this Saturday.

Nice shop, ginger loaf/cake was delicious, but we had the worst flat whites we'd ever had at a Nelson cafe. Both were extremely bitter and tasted burnt, added 2 sugars and still couldn't get the bitter taste out of my mouth. Go for the art and cake not the coffee.

A beautiful building with lots of culture and creative products to explore, but the coffee was too sour for our liking.

Dangerous pizza was absolutely phenomenal. Wish they did delivery so I can have a nice lazy night at home watching movies but it’s well worth the walk. Little on the expensive side but absolutely worth it.

Came for dinner and was lucky to find a spare table. Limited menu on offer for dinner, mainly pizzas and chips. Big selection of pizzas, including kid's pizza. The large is huge, so we shared a Medium between 2 adults and the kid's had a cheese pizza each. Lovely service and delicious food

We were excited to try their pizza. We order the large Popeyes Plus and golden fries. The service was friendly but the food requires some improvement. The fries were delivered from the fish and chips next door which were amazing. We could have ordered them directly if we knew. The pizza toppings were super tasty but the base was hard and tasted like cardboard. We liked the location and the atmosphere even with the below-average pizza.

Absolutely superb food and wonderful ambience. Plenty of space and the outdoor murals are amazing. I'm looking forward to my next visit!

Great pizza and beer and outstanding coffee. Best place to visit in town. Make sure you try a chicken cranberry pizza, it is truly amazing! Everything goes great with the local craft beer from hop nation with an IPA and golden larger on tap. Enjoy! Remember to try a coffee!

The best coffee in Takaka here, using Supreme beans. The muffins are awesome, I've had the blueberry, and the spiced pumpkin ones.

A gem. A great little place with some very interesting food options. Seems to be very popular with the hippies too. Lots of seating indoor and outdoor (there's a cool garden area out the back) and a bar in the middle. I had a venison sausage roll, it was damn good. The prices are perhaps a bit steep but the quality matches what you'd expect for that and the cafe's environment. You should probably dine in to get the full value.

Enthusiastic service. Cabinet food looked good, but we had eggs benedict mine with salmon and spinach my hubbies with bacon.

If you are looking for the best Bacon and Eggs in Nelson we found it for you. Ask for a side of Avocado. It’s perfect and creamy. The Bacon is next level amazing 10/10 and staff know it’s great. One of our groups poached eggs broke so staff said they would be quickly giving him a 3rd egg. We will be going back again for sure. 02 May update: I’m back again, amazing again. We took photos! Sorry you can’t smell the bacon, trust me it is amazing. Look at the amount of the food on the plate. My breakfast was $26 including the extra avo. I wish there were places like this in Auckland.

I have never been treated this badly by a business owner. The restaurant had the attached sign mentioning Americans, and when I asked the owner what was the meaning of this message he laughed and said: "Give me a break, do you like Trump? Get out of here" He approached me shouting that I leave and laughed with another customer who also made comments about Trump supporters (both of them in the photo). This is insane. My politics are irrelevant, I didn’t like the sign stereotyping people and their response was aggressive and politicised, as if they only accept customers who think a certain way. Insane.

The best Eggs Benedict in town, nicely poached eggs, creamy house made hollandaise sauce, crispy bacon. No nonsense. Great coffee, staff and friendly owner. Love coming here

3.5/5 Icd friendly service here. Called in for brunch, and I had an expresso coffee, which was good. I ordered scrambled eggs w bacon on toast. The bacon was plentiful and nice. The scrambled eggs were ok. The toast was a white bun sliced in half. It didn't appear to be toasted. The cafe has some fun vespas on display.

This cafe is iconic and arguably the best place for a big breakfast in Nelson. Today we had two. One vege and one meat. Both were superb. Service was friendly and attentive. Vege was very good though the eggs were a bit undercooked, the rest was fab. Meat breakfast was very generous and greatly enjoyed. Well worth a visit when you are in town.

Good coffee and nice food but service slow with staff not very coordinated. Almost $20 for a lamb pie with a tiny dot of relish seems a bit steep. It was a good pie however. Nice decor and views.

Great to see several vegan options in the cabinet and on the menu. I had the soup of the day (vegan, mixed-vegetable potage), served with bread (non-dairy spread is available), and I tried the vegan carrot dog. Both were good. The salads looked very good. There are pastries and sweet slices. Plant milks cost $1 extra for the hot drinks. One staff member may need some guidance on serving vegans.

For many cafes, if the view is gorgeous, the food is meh. As you can see from the photo, the view from the Suter Cafe is absolutely beautiful. Thankfully, so is the food and the service. We had one of the best eggs Benedict with salmon we’ve ever had, as well as a build-your-own brekkie that included super fresh and flavorsome eggs, sourdough and green salad. The coffee and lemon-ginger tonic (house made) were also as good as it gets. Topped off with attentive staff, and a serene view- this cafe is a winner!

Overfalated, complicated and needlessly difficult to order from front cashier. Plain salty small cheese scone. No wifi, server says - f/off to the gallery and get a password (like attitude) . Pompous attitude from staff. Mocha was good, Latte not good. Good to see an older woman circulating the cafe being hospitable - and a shame your staff ruined it.

This would have to be the finest customer service I’ve experienced in all my travels around these parts. The selection of sweets is as high quality as you will find. Do try!

We went to this cafe twice during our 3 days Nelson trip. food quality is slightly better than average. service is even better the best part of cafe is the dinning environment. you can enjoy the small lake view of Queen's garden. very comfortable to enjoy cafe or meal outside of this cafe.

Looks lovely, but the lack of soft furnishing lead to a very loud atmosphere; so much so that the server could not hear when I asked for a large cappuccino and I ended up with a small. The coffee was good, but I still left disappointed. I also didn’t like the lack of prices on display. I was left with no idea how much I paid for each item. They also ‘got me’ on the Paywave toll, so I don’t believe they displayed fair warning about that either. Dodgy practices all round really. Response to owner: I was looking for the coffee prices and still couldn’t find them. Dodgy, was how it felt to me and that’s the point of a review. It’s my perspective based on the visit I had.

Beautiful spot to catch the morning sun. Large and clean space with plenty of tables inside and outside. Very spacious. Coffee was great. We ate Eggs Benedict and pancakes. Sour dough was great with eggs Benedict and eggs were cooked perfect. Bacon on both dishes was streaky and crispy. Fluffy pancakes. Both dishes were fresh and full of flavour. Kitchen is open so you can see the cleanliness of the space your food is prepared in. Customer service is warm, friendly and inviting.

The best burgers in town, hands down. And that means a lot as we have quite a few places that sell burgers in Nelson. The food is beautiful balanced, smart and comforting, fresh and yet somehow classic in the goal to satisfy all your senses. Thank you team for being a great friendly place that makes an effort to feed us all with creativity.

Nice food n' service. My scrambled eggs were well seasoned, and they had some herbs mixed in, which was great. My partners vegetarian brunch was well received. The coffee was good too.

We originally lived in Shanghai. My son and I are visiting from Auckland for the holidays. The space is large and the interior design is simple. The staff are very enthusiastic and have high vibrant. The menu is very simple, but every dish can feel the chef's heart. The bread is crispy on one side, sweet and sour and juicy on the other. The bacon is fried just right, not too much, not too little. The eggs were also fried to perfection. A wonderful breakfast to start a wonderful day.

Nice and clean spot with small but perfect choices of breakfast. From muesli with fruits over pancakes to eggs Benedict you’ll get what you desire. I had the muesli with blueberries and strawberries. It was very delicious and a good amount. The coffee tastes good and the waitress was very friendly.

I Love the food, coffee options and the whole vibe of this gorgeous cafe. I’m always raving about the cheese scones and coffee however their menu is equally impressive. Should have “Best Cheese Scone” - Nelson 2025!! If time prevails you, make sure you stop in for great service and their beautiful bread selection. Very lovely café! They have a little terrace on the corner of the street which sits beautifully in the morning sun. Very tasty food as well. A menu of eggs and toast, but in a way that is full of interesting flavours and unique combinations. Had a wonderful start of the day!

Everything a great cafe should be. Delicious food, excellent coffee and an imaginative menu. The tasty baked goods have a Middle Eastern twist too. The staff are lovely and welcoming. They also sell Big Score bread to take away, the best local sourdough (which we are now addicted to).

Little Dove is by far one of the best cafes in town. Amazing Middle Eastern style food, I totally approve as a Turkish person. Wonderful customer service, we felt like a family even in the first visit! Now, it is our “go-to” cafe in Nelson!

Despite us showing up as a large group, the staff were incredibly accommodating, professional, and welcoming. They made sure everyone was served quickly and with a smile. Such super staff! Friendly, inviting atmosphere. Wonderful tasty food, we ended up ordering seconds. I can't believe how much we ate! It's not easy finding a good scone, but these were pretty perfect to me! Mouth watering an absolutely memorable. I'll definitely be back. Thanks for the amazing experience.

Food is interesting and tasty, coffee is serviceable. Hospitality from most staff is spot on although the older male owner is often quite unfriendly. Seating indoors is limited, seating outdoors is very weather dependent. Parking usually available, bike parking available close by. There is a nice park area opposite for times when no cafe seats are available. Discounts available for BYO coffee cups.

Beautiful matcha latte and beetroot latte. They were delicious and bring a lot of comfy in our day. The cafe is super cute and all the people serving are so sweet. The food is also super yum and tasty. Highly recommend! 🌸 We will come back for sure on our next trip to Nelson!

Relaxed and easy vibes in a very stylish setting. The staff are super personable & friendly despite it being busy. My coffee was perfect and the food was absolutely delicious!! Quality was evident. Definitely recommend this cafe for a special coffee and eats.

What a find! My husband is coeliac and it is without a doubt the most incredible breakfast he’s ever had - the GF waffles with bacon (all waffles are GF so no concern of cross contamination with cooking them). Delicious coffee, lovely atmosphere and super friendly staff. Cabinet food also looked amazing but we will have to come back another day!

Beautiful, modern café with great vibes, amazing coffee, delicious food, and the best staff! I was in Nelson just for the weekend and loved it so much that I went there for breakfast both mornings. Nicky, the staff member who served me on the first day, remembered my name and greeted me warmly the next morning — such a lovely personal touch! She served us with a big smile, accommodated all our needs, and really made us feel welcome. It was the best experience and started my day on such a positive note. Highly recommended!

Gorgeous little cafe with heaps of gluten-free options! Had the gf/df banoffee waffles and they were so good. Love a filter coffee as well. Lots of GF options in the cabinet as well so had a savory loaf and sweet muffin on my second visit. Would definitely come back here any time we’re in Nelson ☺️

This is a great cafe, food quality was great, staff were great. Outdoor playground for kids, plenty of space and seating. Only thing I would tweak is to add a fence of some sort around the main road and the playground area. I would also have the restaurant menu on a board before the food cabinets when entering the cafe. But aside from that, this is a 10/10 cafe

The atmosphere is very pleasant. They grow their own vegetables, this is very interesting. The food is really very tasty and with a great presentation. The smoothie is amazing. The attendants are friendly and always available. If you are passing through Motueka you should go see the place.

Visited from Blenheim, we follow these guys on facebook and seeing we were in Nelson we decided to make our way out to Motueka and have some breakfast. Loved the place and the breakfast was delicious, I had the pumpkin risotto cake with salad and hubby had the brisket eggs bene. Both were delicious and good sized servings. Coffee was also delicious. The team were all lovely and friendly. It was great to see a breakfast come out on a hot plate, as we rarely see this. Has an awesome range in their cabinet, also retail products and deli product which we did purchase a few yummy things. Would highly recommend a visit.

I have come here many times but this time I was very disappointed. We ordered 2 ramen bowls with Tonkatsu (Pork). The ramen broth should be hot but it was not though we asked to reheat it but it was the same. Besides, Tonkatsu was overcook. It tasted bitter. This time was a bad experience of ours.

We had our wedding reception at Toad Hall in March, and were blown away -- Angie and the team are amazing and so great to work with, and the food and beer were absolutely outstanding! Highly recommend if you're looking for a location that feels like home for your big day, such a dream come true :) Thanks for everything!

Highly recommend this place the food is amazing and served piping hot! The staff are fantastic, very accommodating and always floating about if you need anything. Thank you guys for a delicious dinner and amazing breakfast. We will absolutely be back again!!

Delicious food, friendly staff, quirky artwork, loved the atmosphere. Highly recommend the Chicken Kiev, if I was in town another night I would've returned to have it again. My husband had the beef short rib and said it was delicious as well.

Really pintoresque, the menu was very varied and tasty. Finally tried New Zealand wine and cheese, which were good. The dhal was tasty and service was super friendly. Good idea to book in advance if your coming on a weekend

Lovely stay in Nelson at Tides Food was delicous. Front of house staff excellent, they did close the bar at 9.30 which was annoying as we wanted a night cap and a chat.

A genuine find. If in Nelson this is where you want to stay. Very reasonably priced for basically resort style accommodation. Excellent service also.

Tides is a hidden Gem in the heart of town. Service with a smile and a laugh and even when busy you're always recognised and somebody will come to your assistance. The brightly coloured Street-Art canvases and stylish yet fun furniture is fun. The riverside terrace is the Perfect getaway with a group of friends for an all day brunch and bubbles or just a chilled afternoon under the palm trees and even has giant chess or Jenga if you feel like a bit of fun.

I really like this hotel out of many of the hotels.I stayed in new zealand it's very local feeling and accessible to many things. I love the decor and the fact that they have an awesome restaurant there. My friends and I could spread out and hang at the bar when it was raining.

Really nice spot to come visit on a Sunday afternoon. Nice hot delish cheese scone and mocha. Yummy eggs Benedict too which I had on a seperate occasion. Lovely service. I wish it was open later. Everything closes soo early here in Takaka. Lots of people see to come around 2pm.

Roasted butternut & Lentils soup is delicious. Brisket tacos has a wow factor especially with jalapeños added.

This place was recommended to us by some locals so we headed over there on a Friday for a late breakfast. I ordered the wholemeal mash with bacon and it was just OK. The poached eggs were overdone and it came with big half potato size chunks of fried potato And the entire meal was a bit dry and overcooked. Definitely not what I would think of as hash. But it was made with quality ingredients from what I could tell and the service was average but the atmosphere definitely is very cool and a nice place to enjoy a meal with friends. The prices are on the high side for the quality of the preparation but overall it was not a bad experience. I honestly don’t think I would go back there again if I was a local but maybe they were just exceptionally busy that day or maybe something else on the menu would have been better.

Mid coffee but really yummy food? Came with a group of people. The cabinet food was absolutely delicious, but our coffees / hot drinks were all pretty lacklustre. Dunno if it was just a one off or what. Aside from that the atmosphere and staff were lovely. Would probably stop in again for the food.

Great coffee shop / restaurant with a huge choice of food and great coffee. Highly recommended. Funky hippie interior decor with lots of interesting pictures and cozy seating areas. Also seating is available outside to the left, watch out for the seagulls which will steal your food.

We were here a year ago and enjoyed it so much we came back this year. Things have changed for the worst: 1. $28 for a small plate of food!! 2. Didn't provide us with any cutlery. 3. Meal didn't come with all contents as stated on the menu. 4. Staff very un-genuine, particularly several of the female staff. Before today we were keen to eat here several times but not after this. A shame as the atmosphere is really nice.

This is a great cafe- lots of visitors, but has a "local" vibe. Food seems legitimately all home made-and by people who know how to cook! It has a little brochure stand, clean toolets, comfy couch or table seating, and an outdoor picnic table area. Well located in the town for those passing through. Well worth a stop for a quick cuppa or a hearty meal (pies are awesome!).

We always stop at Rivers Cafe when we’re passing through Murchinson. They always have the tastiest food, lovely friendly service and great atmosphere.

Great stop for a road trip. We stopped in for lunch and the cafe was full of locals and those like us travelling through so had a great atmosphere. Lots of options for food, we had a couple of pastries which were exactly what we needed.

Good food made on site, we had BLAT, cheese and onion scone, sausage roll and quiche. All of the food was great.

Cafe that seem to be converted from a former gas station. Nice open tables offering usual brunch and sandwiches. Prompt friendly service. Was a good lunch stop during our drive. My pie was delicious. Seemed to be a popular spot for the nearby residents too.

Beautiful location in Collingwood for a stop to eat. Lovely outdoor seating with shade and a little play area for children also. High chairs available. Sadly no changing table despite all these other amenities for kids. No vegan options on the menu but staff were able to make the vegetarian burger vegan. Would be great to have some more plant based options available, and nothing wrong with having curly fries on the menu :) pottery area was gorgeous! Loved having a peak whilst we waited for our food

Looking forward to lunch but the cook was a no show. Only a seafood chowder and whats in the display cabinet. Well made Latte & Mocha. Chowder was super creamy and full of seafood but too rich for my palette. Quiet with plenty of seating.

As the only cafe open on a rainy day, we were drawn to the courthouse cafe and were pleasantly surprised. We ordered a diverse selection, including Eggs Benedict, hot chocolates, coffee, scones, and cake. The drinks were expertly prepared, and the service was truly exceptional. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. After a brief wait, all our food and drinks arrived promptly. The eggs bene for $24 was very nice but very small portion and had me wondering if they forgot the rest. The cafe was bustling with activity, a testament to its popularity. While the noise level was high due to the lively atmosphere, it didn't feel cramped. However the noise and standing around of people all around you wasn't ideal if you don't like a busy and loud environment.

The food was delicious. I had the Cachapas, they were amazing. Coffee was wonderful. Spot on! The staff is very efficient. It felt like a bit of a niche place, but I could not fault the service. Lovely use of old furniture to go with the old office type environment. Awesome pottery, right next door!

On the plus side Coffee was beautiful, so a big applaud to the Barista...however very let down with both meals ordered, the open steak sandwich which we ordered the steak medium cooked was rare and bleeding for the 30+ price tag on this meal you would expect it to be cooked as requested, my chicken and bacon burger was also not to satisfaction, as chicken was not at all tender and had the consistency of rubber and i couldn't bite through it...we abandoned our meals and left very disappointed. I hope Elevation takes this review on board and meals are improved as the price tag on both was very high for a substandard and very below average meal.

Wonderful meal. Nice wait staff. Live music and excellent food. We had a recommendation from our visit to Fleurs Place in Moeraki. The chef from Elevation Cafe had been done there and the management recommended we eat her food as we were from Motueka ,where elevation cafe is on High street. Her seafood was very nice and the mountain to sea fish my fellow dinner had was just as good. The local live music added to the ambiance . A cheerful 50th birthday celebration was at the next large table and other quests looked happy as well. Photos tell the story below.The crowd outside was from the Xmas parade. Not usually any people sitting on wall outside. The court yard is private and there is inside and outside tables.

Just had dinner here and it was an amazing experience! The blonde hostess/waitress that served me was very bubbly friendly and patient!! The food was also brilliant, plated beautifully and came out quickly, I'll definitely be coming back here soon as it was one of the best eating experiences I've had!

I came here on Thursday night for 1/2 price pizza night. It was the best pizza ever. Service was good to and they were very friendly. The chef Luca is originally from Italy and he knows how to make amazing Italian cuisine. Started with wines, then the pizzas. After we had the Tiramisu and Afogato for dessert, delicious! My hubby and I went here for lunch today ( Thurs ). At a first glance when you 1st walk in its a little uninspiring, looked like abit of an empty room with a few tables close to the windows and a bit of a bar on the right with a really cool type chandelier, but this didn't put us off. Anyway we walked through the door which took us outside on to the deck, nothing to flash dining style wise, but the view on the water was amazing. Now the gentleman host was super friendly and abit of a larrakin I think, we had a great yarn with him. Now I do need to mention the food, its a very basic menu, not too much on offer, but honestly the food was delicious and very sizable portions too and we were suprised at how quick the food came out too, so really prompt service on meals and drinks, friendly staff, we were clearly impressed. Called in with Matty on our trip. A hidden gem, an amazing sundeck with views that warrant being in magazine. The staff were warm and friendly and just seemed to treat everyone as regulars, maybe they are! We had fish and chips, Greek salad and tortillas off the menu. Everything was excellent, tasty, well presented and excellent value. A good range of local beer on tap. Check opening hours, maybe lunch is the best option.

Good venue by the water. Food was bit hit and miss. Fish n chips great, avoid the pork belly unless you want to order a second main as you'll still be hungry. Cheeseburger good but lacking flavour.

We have captured many beautiful weddings at the Boathouse in Nelson! The views looking out over the water are stunning, and you can often catch a beautiful sunset from the deck. The inside is quite spacious, white walls, wooden floors and a little bit of character makes this venue such a charmer and we have found the Boathouse staff so always be so helpful and friendly. We cannot wait to capture another wedding at The Boathouse again very soon.

The 4 stars are solely for the food! Surprisingly delicious. The decor is not my cup of tea and made me hesitant about staying. That and the fact that it was empty with only two other customers sitting outside. Nevertheless, Collingwood is tiny and we could see most visitors across the road on buses ready to depart on the Farewell Spit tours. So we stayed as we were hungry! Glad we did, really enjoyed our meals 😁

This cafe looks quite nice in an arty way. Then we started reading the signs! There's a Trespass warning about fining anyone working in government, for local councils or the police and military and even the SPCA $10 grand for entering. Farcial though it is, it clearly sets the tone for the management's attitude and since it covers most members of my family we decided not to go in. Clearly we weren't alone as there were no customers inside or out on a sunny Friday lunchtime. Instead we went to the welcoming (and busy) Courthouse cafe down the road where we had a delicious lunch.

Nice atmosphere and the staff were very friendly which was nice. I ordered the pad Thai, spirulina juice and a lemon slice from their cabinet. Everything was a bit overpriced in my opinion. The pad Thai was really yummy and came out hot and presented nicely. I was really disappointed with the lemon slice however. It was black around the edges and tasted burnt. The base was so solid that I couldn’t physically cut through it without sending pieces flying. The centre had a good lemon flavour in the middle where it wasn’t burnt but the consistency wasn’t nice and seemed like it had been sitting in the cabinet for a while. The spirulina tasted strongly of apple but was nice. Overall an average experience and not sure if I’ll be back

Tried the coconut pancakes and it was a little dry so more syrup may have helped or a compote. They were nice but I probably wouldn’t get them again. The big breakfast was ok but needed some sauce to balance the dry ingredients. Overall lovely vibe

Can highly recommend the panini / the keto quiche and the salmon frittata.. and the white chocolate macadamia slice is too good!!

Lovely, friendly and prompt customer service. My family & I went for breakfast here on Friday 13 January. Cabinet food as well as cooked breakfasts available here. We ordered 2 bacon & egg breakfasts (as per photos) & 1 pancake stack which looked (& I'm told tasted) absolutely delicious. Eggs can be cooked to your liking e.g. fried, poached etc. The breakfasts were nicely cooked & was enjoyable. My brother commented that the sausages were tasteless & that it would have been good to get 2 individual packets of butter (instead of 1). I was so full that I had to ask to takeaway the sausages, which they kindly put in a container for me to take away. There are a couple of improvements that I would recommend to Muses Cafe: 1) Make it clearer by signage or verbally that if a customer uses pay wave, that this will incur a charge of $3 something. 2) Drain the poached eggs longer to avoid water pooling on the plate - to avoid affecting other items on the plate The Muses Cafe has the nicest milkshakes that I've had anywhere in a long time. So, if you're in Motueka, make a point of going there to try these. You'll be glad you did! Will definitely visit this place again if I return to Motueka in future.

Not just an in and out to grab one of their freaking amazing pies or coffee this time. It was a chance to sit and breathe before the lunch rush. As always this place is amazing. Decided to grab a stock standard cheese burger and chips with a coffee at $28.50 and it was good. I'm full as a bull now and actually sitting in the carpark writing this before I head off. Wowee Mrs Smiths cafe,what can we say! We ordered a grazing platter for four and the food was amazing. Our platter fed four of us for more than 24 hours and was so nicely presented,with condiments as well. Such a treat for us and our visitors. Highly recommend 👌

We had the most amazing catering for my Mums 70th Birthday recently. What an incredible selection of goodies. The food was absolutely devine and everyone raved about it for days after. Had a mince & cheese pie and apricot crumble muffin which were pretty good. There were quite a few reviews about the muffins but I thought it was a little bit dry, i asked for some cream with it so still yummy but some custard would’ve really made it! The pie was delish, very nice. My friend had a steak, pepper and cheese pie and a blueberry and apple pastry, both yummy but we both agree the pies were better than the pastries!

What an amazing little café along the road side perfect for a stop on a road bike trip or a beautiful drive through spectacular scenery in New Zealand. We all tried the wonderful lunch items and the coffee and espresso was fantastic. The service was wonderful and there was plenty of outdoor and indoor seating. Definitely make a stop at Mrs. Smith’s Café and vegetables, you won’t be disappointed.

Coffee was fantastic! Smooth and really enjoyable. The bagels are really nice. In terms of food, I was hoping for more choice as the offering was bagel toasties which were tasty and well made and then a few cabinet cakes. If I’d checked the menu before visiting I wouldn’t have been surprised by the limited selection, so that’s on me. Can’t say enough good stuff about the coffee though, was so good! I’d drive out to Cable Bay just to have a coffee and would be quite happy. Stunning location as your view is out over the bay and the island - nature all around! Friendly smiling staff! The owner is sloppy and rude. I’ve been here a couple times due to a friend (“one of her favourite spots”) every time I come in here there are backhanded comments and compliments about my friend even due to her disabilities it’s astounding. Apart from that aside, the customer service is shocking no warm hellos no consistent ordering very aloof and honestly they act like they couldn’t care less if you were there or not. I don’t really understand it because it’s such a nice location and spot. Do better it really is off putting.

As Stoke locals we had surprisingly not been here for breakfast before. While a lovely spot for a cold ale in the sun, we had not tried the food, so off we go! Turning up at 9am, there was a perfect spot out the front in the sun for us to enjoy our breakfasts. I ordered the Squires Big Breakfast: hash browns, mushrooms, tomato, bacon, sausages and 2 eggs on ciabata toast. This was a decent size and cooked nicely. The bacon was tasty and crispy and the poached eggs were cooked well. My wife ordered the Eggs Benedict with Bacon. The hollandaise was very good, and again the eggs were cooked well, nice and runny. Top this off with a delicious flat white, and we were very happy! The service was excellent, with very friendly staff. Very quick, efficient and well priced. If you enjoy good food and sunshine, give them a spin!

Had lunch with my wife on the spare of the moment decision. I chose a savoury scone which was delicious!! And my wife chose Chicken nuggets and fries. The meal was piping hot and a very generous portion. Freedom served us; what a star!! I also had an authentic flat white and it was 12 out of 10 ☕️.

We are regulars at Squires-we visit there every week because the food and service are so amazing!! The staff go absolutely above and beyond every single time and have become like family over the time we have been visiting. The meals here are generous and exceptional quality. I have always loved Squires! Its one of my favorite places to eat. Tonight, Kim and her amazing staff out done themselves. A brisket burger with a Mac n cheese pattie.... my friend said it's the best burger shes ever eaten! The brisket melted in the mouth and the cheese from the mac n cheese pattie oozed with perfection. As always the chicken salad was the bomb! I always think ill try something else but cant let go of my old faithful favorite. Thanks Kim! We'll be back again 🫶

I usually order the fish of the day, but had to change my order at the last minute after seeing the fish tacos. The fish was tender and went really well with the salsa. The salsa was well balanced, sour and slighrly sweet. Being a corriander fan, it was a great addition to the taco party. Overall, it was fresh, flavoursome with a nice level of spice. Great food, great service, love your work Squires.

I'm rather liking this dish (the Oxford); arriving in a healthy portion size. So, Cafe on Oxford on a late Saturday morning with the teenage kids. First impressions are an even mix of generations amongst the patrons. Nice decor, nothing being stand out weird, looking conservative while being modern and functional. The team seem eager to get on with it so we order after looking over the menu. So the food, me and the boy get the Oxford (a cooked breakfast mixed plate) with a latte each & the daughter is a bit fussy and opts for a brownie with a juice. The food and coffee are prepared well and taste great. The brownie looks great and I ask if a dollop of cream can be added. No problem says the staff and it comes back quickly with the cream :) A really pleasant experience, I'm glad we decided to go here.

Really disappointed with the cost of their coffee, $7 for a medium coffee which was tiny and even with one sugar it was not nice coffee :/ milk was also burnt. Don't usually do negative reviews and just keep my opinions to myself but just couldn't believe we paid $14 for 2 average small coffees.

One of few cafés around these days that are open early for breakfast (opens at 8am - many we've tried to go to don't open until 10am). Good gluten free options on both the menu and in the cabinet. I had the smashed avo (with added bacon) which was divine! The cabinet food looked amazing and I'm very keen to go back to try some of the delights in there. Fast, friendly service. I'll be back!

Waited over 55minutes for our breakfast to come out. They completely forgot about my partners iced drink. Ended up playing dont touch the ground with a sugar sachet because we were so bored😅 food itself wasn't too bad. Nothing spectacular. They offered no compensation or anything for the time it took nor did they even let us know it would be a long wait just for food. High chance we won't be going back.

Great place for brunch. I'm GF and they were happy to supply a yummy Rosti instead of GF bread, as we know GF bread can be very average. The Rosti added to the meal and the coffee was also yummy. I'll be back

The pies are delicious! Home made , lovely pastry, my favourite is seafood one, hubby loves steak and ale, and the sausage rolls are right at the top of the best sausage rolls we've tasted. The only other one close is the coffee cart at the Motueka wharf by Talleys fish shop. If the owner is on, she makes the best strong creamy coffees, and her banter is wonderdul! Definitely worth a visit!

In my search for a great pie, I found an article from Stuff to say this is the place to be. So on a Thursday morning I got in my car, drove for about an hour to get there drooling for a great pie. When I got there, there was already a few people, mostly locals as I can hear from their conversations with owner(s)/workers. Seeing the pies, they looked yummy. I ordered a steak and ale pie and a chilli pie. Now I can't wait anymore, I opened them and the smell so good, it brings back memories from many years ago in another country of my Aunt's homemade pies. With my mouth now drooling even more I decided to eat the chilli pie first. Now this is where it all took a turn, sadly. The chilli pie was bland, too saucy for the pie crust that breaks apart from all the sauce in it. It was not pleasurable at all. Putting my disappointment aside, I'm hoping the steak and ale pie will live up to the hype. Well, again very disappointed😢. The steak and ale pie was bland again, the steak was cooked way to fine for my liking. The pie crust was better than the chilli one, but nothing to write home about. I feel cheated by the article and left disappointed. The article did mention that there will be a change of ownership, maybe that's it. For me, I wont return there again, but I can see why many peolle go there for coffee as the atmosphere is great and the have a good yarn with the staff/owner(s).

Even in the onsetting Winter, Ginger Dynamite is a must-stop for passers-through in Riwaka. The outdoor seating offers crisp fresh air and an indoor module offers warmth for those recently returned from the BMX tracks. The coffee is excellent, and thoroughly worth the trip from Kaiteriteri, Takaka, or Collingwood. The beautiful meat or vegetarian pies look too good to be true. Very racist. Me and my children went in on this rainy day for a meal this morning. No welcoming. But judged to where we had to leave. Did not feel comfortable at all. Nobody approached us. Was sitting there with our menu for 30 minutes.

This mōrena I called in too #lydiascafe in #richmond for breakfast. I found the service to be excellent, atmosphere refelective, hum of conversation and bursts of laughter. Kai and kāwhe perfect, as was the smoothie. Really enjoyed my kai and kāwhe today.

Well!! What a surprise!!!! A gem of a place in Richmond - beautifully flavoured espresso based coffee and very well made (older gentleman behind the counter.) Even when they were at the end of a busy lunch rush, the young girl behind the counter was genuine and friendly. Only the 2nd time in 2 weeks of trying the local eateries that this has happened... Don’t be sceptical when you walk in; where other places might look all the go, and don’t deliver, this is an unassuming place that over delivers. You can simply smell the home baking when you walk in - and it might all look simple, but I am betting it’s all gonna be well made by foodies, old school style. I’ll be back. :-)))))

While out for a ride on our bikes my wife and I felt a little peckish. Reaching Brightwater, we found this cute little place nested on the main street. With ample bike parking and securing options, it is obvious that this is a popular spot for cyclists. The sausage roll looks good (and large!) and a bowl of curly fries jumps off the menu board. We also order 2 flat whites. As per usual, the coffee comes first. Hot, yet a little bitter. The sausage roll is solid, but tasty. I sometimes prefer a lighter meat content and more aromatic ingredients, but it tasted good. The curly fries were great, crispy and tasty and had a bit of a festival vibe. Was an OK stop.

The leather settees need urgent replacement given the turnover. They are worn out and been there since the place opened some 12t years ago. A limited cabinet at 11am midweek. Food and coffee great and awesome staff.

Whatever you do don't try their extreme milkshakes. They are soooo addictive! I had to wobble home afterwards. I'll definitely be going back for another one 👍

A nice spot for a good quality meal with a lot of variety on offer. The food is delicious and very well prepared. I've found the staff to be helpful, patient and friendly. It's a very popular place so there can be a bit of a wait sometimes but well worth a visit if you're looking for a good meal or even a quick snack. The place has a warm and relaxed feel to it with plenty of space.

Another gem in the Tasman area. Open 7 days with a wide range of food and drink. Remember to ask for no salt on the chips and add it yourself. Was too much salt on mine. Will return for sure

A few options of very standard fare in the cabinet, and when ordering a coffee the first response to the customer is whether it would be takeaway. An odd concept to initiate, but inside the shop can be extremely noisy. Outside seating is available but note the harsh nature of the chairs - certainly not inviting anyone to stay for very long with the sharp profile, while even the slightest breeze can be cold and the seagulls a menace and health risk - see the photo with the seagull observer attracted by unkempt and uninviting tables. That one would soon make an announcement. Note too that the few umbrellas cover the area between the tables so not any customer at a table. The wifi appears to require a credit card or other personal details even for the 100MB offered for free, but not listed in the login process.

Stopped in for brunch, I highly recommend the omelette it was delicious and hubby enjoyed the Columbus breakfast and was happy to receive extra bacon to swap out for the pork sausages at no extra charge. His only negative comment was he wished the plates had been warmed up for the food and the food cools down quickly on a cold plate. Other than that very enjoyable. We also had a latte each which was good. Service was friendly and accommodating, premises was clean and tidy with comfortable seating inside or out, today was a hot day so it was pleasant to sit in a well air conditioned area. Thank you

Raw sausage rolls?? When taken up to counter and be told yes that's how they ment to be be...rare...nope sorry that is just wrong it is sausage meat not steak, very slow waiting at counter to be served and just being ignored by barrister just standing at coffee machine idle, and even longer waiting for food to come and not even busy.

Ordered a soy hazelnut latte… waited far too long for an establishment that was empty to get my coffee. The warning sign should have been the fact my foam was white not at all mixed in to the coffee as should be when you’re pouring your milk, there was no mixing it in when it got to my table so that was scooped off and left on the plate. What remained was what looked like an instant coffee, tasted like one too, so was left on the counter with the comment that I make instant coffee better at home. You’re only as good as your last coffee.

When I went previously, the ice chocolate was pretty average. But I was pleasantly surprised as the hot chocolate was nice and the chicken salad was superb!

Not to be dramatic, but the best coffee I've had in the 3 days we've been here. And for us that's at least 15 different coffees!

Asked if the fries could be gluten free as my pregnant wife is celiac. Blonde lady with glasses serving us gave me a funny look and scoffed saying “how can fries be gluten free” left and won’t be returning

Called them up and asked if they have a public WiFi available there, they said yes, so I came in, ordered a drink, sit and tried to connect over and over again while waiting for my order. About 5 -7 min late a waiter came up with my drink and said that it's very hard to get WiFi working here and connecting are failing all the time! So I ended up leaving, wasting my money, mood and most importantly time on driving, calling them, ordering and waiting for the order. 🥺

The coffee was good and the barista pleasant. The food is another matter... I bought a ?chocolate slice...they could not tell me what the ingredients were. It was awful, it tasted like a block of compressed cardboard with flavourless chocolate on top, it was stale at best. It used to be better.

My muffin cost $5.50 and contained two long hairs.

Poor and rude service. Was patiently standing and waiting for my take-away coffee to be met with “you know we have got seats here!” and rolling eyes when declining to take a seat. Will not return and rather go to MacDonalds around the corner for my coffee break.

In the unlikely surroundings of a Richmond medical centre this cafe is a treat. The coffee is good and the sandwiches are incredibly fresh. There's always a smiling greeting on entry too.

Had a great coffee in a lovely large mug and a very nice slice of ginger loaf. The ambiance is great and service is good. Finding parking in the immediate car park can be difficult.

We always drop in here when visiting family and friends in the Nelson area. It is a great place to meet up for coffee and wholesome treats. There is a lovely sunny indoor area in winter and outside tables for summer, or when we are taking the dog for a stroll. Today we held a surprise morning tea for my mother in law’s New Years Birthday, inviting along some of her closest friends. The staff were fantastic and we can’t thank them enough for a lovely morning. 😊

Del-ish Cafe in Takaka has a lovely, authentic local vibe that makes you feel instantly welcome. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive throughout our visit. While I only tried the coffee, which was decent (7/10), the food menu looked quite enticing with a good variety of options. The cafe itself has a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere. The standout, however, was the exceptional service provided by all the staff. I would definitely recommend Del-ish Cafe to anyone visiting Takaka and would happily return myself.

We visited for a pop-up event by Fix on Friday. Wow! Sensational. The coffee and service was great too.

What's in a name? In this case, pretty much everything. Delish totally represents the food here. Over a few separate occasions we only had great food and excellent service too. The only thing to ruin a great food place for me is poor coffee but I'm happy to say it us some of the best I have had in the country equalled wiyh friendly sevice. Delish also show a real commitment to sustainable practise and our environment by providing ceramic cups for your drinks that can be exchanged elsewhere and reused. Worth the 5 stars for sure.

We went there for lunch last week. Exceptional service & staff so helpful. I had just bought a picture frame for my friend & was trying to peel off the sticker. They offered to clean the glass & gave me tape to keep the photo in the frame. My quiche was delicious plus great coffee. If you need lunch in Takaka, go to De-Lish Delicatessen. 🙂

17 June 2025 - After my work, I had lunch at Columbus Coffee. I chose a cabinet meal of pasta with salad and bacon. The pasta was ok but tasty, and the bacon added a nice crunch and salty flavour. It was a simple but satisfying lunch. I had a matcha latte. It was smooth and not too sweet, with a nice earthy taste from the matcha. The milk was well-frothed and warm.

Only gotten coffees here but it’s a definite 10/10. The staff are super cool and friendly too

We stopped in at Columbus Coffee and had such a great experience! We ordered the Pretzel BLT and the Columbus Breakfast — both were absolutely delicious. The BLT was packed with flavour and the pretzel bun was a seriously good touch, while the breakfast was hearty, perfectly cooked, and super satisfying. A big thank you to the whole team — they were clearly busy but still kept things running smoothly with great service and a smile. Special shout out to Dana, Morgan and Keira for being so friendly and welcoming! It was actually really nice sitting out in the garden centre too. There's something relaxing about being surrounded by plants while enjoying a good coffee and bite to eat — definitely gave the place a calm, fresh vibe that we really appreciated. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in the area. Highly recommend!

Changed my previous review based on my last and final visit. We ordered a matcha latte and an iced matcha berry with some food. The drinks hadn't even made it to our table before the ingredients were separating, look disgusting and tasted worse! Tasted like a watery mess, clearly not nearly enough matcha put in there. The lady with short blonde hair who made these looked at how we had put both drinks on the corner of our table and kept noticeably giving us smug looks. Clearly not interested in improving. Neither of us finished our drinks, barely had two mouthfuls. The first table we sat at, a worker from this cafe was with a friend talking very loudly and proudly about her drug use! Clearly they don't test here. The final thing that amazed me, was watching them make smoothies, then lightly rinsing the jug and putting it back at the back of the beach for it's next use. Not worried about cross contamination for people who can't have dairy? I ordered loaded fries which took 40mins to arrive at our table even though the place wasn't busy. Wasn't loaded with anything, tiny bit of melted cheese and teaspoon of gravy only. My guest ordered a slice, to which they forgot the yogurt they had offered her. This whole visit was an absolute shambles from start to finish. Certainly will not return.

Wouldn’t allow my 3 year old son to swap the bacon on his kids meal for a rosti, so we had to buy a completely new meal. Not cool and was very rude.

Become a firm favourite for me & the family. Always good coffee and a wide range of food options, and the staff are always super friendly no matter how busy it gets. The outside area is dog friendly, and it’s lovely to sit amongst the plants and fountains. Good wheelchair/pram access as well.

Visited today crossant stale and part of it had no filling just dry stale pastry. Mitre 10 columbus used to be our favorite but not today.Chai lattes only warm but that was ok.

Absolutely delicious waffles 🤤 Light and fluffy, lots of topping choices. Highly recommend for either dessert or a naughty brunch. Will have to go and try a bagel some time soon, the service was awesome and it has a lovely casual neighbourly feel to the place.

My new fav coffee / brunch place in Nelson. Great barista serves the best coffee. Crepes and galettes are creative and delicious; well portioned. Chocolate and lemon tarts are wonderful. Kudos to the new owners... great food, great vibe, what more could we ask for.

Now, the decor might unassuming, but the food was simply astounding. Obviously a place where they taste and care about the food they sell. The galettes were better than I've had anywhere, and the gluten-free chocolate praline cake was simply extraordinary.

The best brunch you can have! Excellent coffees! You must try the Mocca with vanilla ice cream. We have had a great time. They also do fabulous meals for take away. And the French couple is so lovely.

Wow, fabulous smoked salmon and avocado buckwheat crepe. Gluten free to boot (but not celiac). And, a wonderful crepe (not gluten-free) with chocolate sauce.

Roast Vege Feta Filo Pastry dry and tasteless - thank god for the relish. Buttermilk Pancake with berry compote and lemon curd was a great combination and very yummy. Warm and cozy inside with the log burner. Toilet outhouse with complimentary women’s things a great idea.

Omg what a find Absolutely scrumptious bacon and egg bagel and such a huge plateful for only $14. Better than any other bagel I’ve had before. In fact price wise it’s the best breakfast/brunch meal I’ve ever had. The banana milkshake even had real bananas in it. The whole menu was so reasonably priced. The cabinet items looked yummy too. The staff were fantastic, very friendly and welcoming. The nice extras in the bathroom were a lovely surprise and very kind of the staff.

I was walking around trying to find a cafe to have lunch, I went to a couple of different places and being new to the area I was using my intuition to guide me and like goldilocks the third place was ‘just right’. You are welcomed warmly and the vibe was cosy. I finally found somewhere that has coconut milk for coffee and the coffee was great! I ordered the popcorn chicken and added chips it was amazing. The chicken was crunchy and tender with a delicious coating. The chips and salad were great too and the Mayo went perfectly. I’ve found my new spot for coffee and food!

My fav place in Motueka especially for pancakes with lemon curd -truly love it, one of the best ones in NZ🥰 Shahuka was ok, but not my thing.

A fantastic cafe on Motueka's High street. A busy wee place with great looking cabinet food and a sizable brunch/lunch menu. We just popped in for coffee and didn't eat anything but the coffee was great! Friendly staff and a focus on te reo Māori make this a special place and well worth a visit.

Love the village cafe Motueka! Staff were so friendly and welcoming! Great inclusion of te reo in their signs and conversation. Food was top notch! Perfect eggs bene! This place does a lot of good for the community so will definitely be supporting them again!

There were no other customers and my two coffees took a long time to make. Because the lady at work was having a nice conversation with a girl standing between the counter and the customer area. Even made me one of the coffees I I ordered wrong. This was my first visit and maybe my last. The coffee tasted fine.

Now this little café at one of the entrance points to Richmond Mall is well worth stopping in. The young lady who works most days is polite, friendly, helpful and accommodating ~ especially with allergies. She was more than willing to help by making my hot cocoa, which I supplied the Free from Lactose milk for and the Valerona Cocoa powder. The result was a velvety smooth drink ~ not just my specialty but all our group who had normal coffees and hot chocolate drink were seriously impressed 😀 The food is extremely delicious, with specialty treats 😋

This has been my favorite localCafe for 5 years for the coffee and the chat. The counter food is also Yummy and well presented, but quite pricey. Good for a special treat or light snack but not a full lunch. I give it 4.5

Needing some energy for an impromptu shopping expedition, we were eagerly searching for a coffee, and here we find the near perfect brew. Catering to all coffee requirements, made well and served with a, smile, Muffin Break offer some of the best coffee in town. Also, try the cabinet food. Good for a quick bite or something more substantial. I grabbed a flat white and a raspberry and white chocolate muffin and these 2 complimented each other perfectly! A quick stop for some necessary sustenance.

Rude staff member said oh no you can’t order a free iced coffee it’s only hot drinks after scanning my loyalty card! assuming I couldn’t pay for it? don’t take your terrible mood out on others you won’t last there people will remember the rude staff member & Richmond mall is too small of a place to act like that don’t bother, she isn’t worth it!

Ever since my job shifted me from Nelson to Richmond for temporary, I struggled to find my new coffee place for breaks and mornings. I sampled everything the mall had to offer and local coffee shops. The only place that has truly stolen the show for me was Muffin Break. I can not stress enough how kind and inviting the staff are. How amazing the quality of service is. I am someone who personally struggles to communicate much in person, but can be more vocal over something like this review. Lovely food with great selections, tasty muffins and the best coffee in Richmond that I have had. The best staff you could ask for to run the place as well. I've been wanting to write a review for months, now I finally have and I highly recommend them for service alone. You gals are awesome!

Earlier the coffee was good.. But after Christmas the Cups are half filled with Froth and less of coffee and shots..the taste have changed a lot.. Specially the girls team are not making up to the mark.. The Owner though is really great person..Currently not value for money.. Thanks and Regards..

Finally, a truly wonderful coffee here after several days in NZ. I only went for coffee but wanted to come back after the first sip! Thank you guys for also having compostable cups, I have these at my coffee shop and one day we will all be thankful for them! This is one of Nelson's best value cafes. Always a great coffee and a meal for all budgets. Prices that don't raise my eyebrows or make my eyes fall out. Lovely variety of cabinet and menu food and drinks.

Kawa kawa latte tastes almost like matcha - made from local plant. Flat white was strong and creamy. Good drinks and nice service. Lots of seating and nice outdoor seating too. Free WiFi.

Good service and the coffee and food is excellent. Is very popular and can be a bit noisy. Well worth going however not open on weekends.

I'm a local and feel bad that I don't have time to visit this cafe more often. It's one of the best around. Even better, it has Japanese food. A good selection of sushi in the fridge and some hot dishes on the menu. The coffee is very professionally done. The environment is eclectic, steampunk, stylish, and just plain fun. Quality staff and service every time.

The best Cafe in town! Great friendly staff owned by a family. Has amazing coffee and heaps of history behind all the different types. We had Katsu and Karaage chicken Donburi’s and they were so tender and filled with heaps of flavour. They also cater for gluten free options. We always eat there when we come up to Motueka, 10/10 recommend 🤩

Great Japanese food and lovely treats to go with coffee. Real fusion. Interesting decor and lots of photography mags to lift your game. Good prices. Wish I had found out how good it is earlier. Took take away home to share with others. Really interesting place with a real Paper Nautilus Shell. Lots of tables and welcoming atmosphere. Parking is outside or around corner.

Very nice place! Steampunk style inside, very nice coffee (matcha latte YUUUUUM), fantastic recipes (I had the Teriyaki Salmon Don, that was delicious). The owner is super frienldy and helpful. You really wanna have a nuce coffe break or lunch here! 😊

Their sushi tastes great. The staff was very friendly and the owner was so kind to make some sushi rolls for us even if we did not ordered them in advance, as it should be done, since we had not enough time left. The owner is also a great and interesting artist and the cafe can thus be very recommended. The prices are also relatively low.

I was here for coffee this morning, ordered a large Mocha and an extra large Cappuccino (cost $10). The cafe shares a space with the showroom; it has a nice warm laidback feel to it, comfortable enough. There’s a couch in the corner with a box of toys and a plastic bbq which kept my toddler entertained while I enjoyed my nice coffee. Toys are always a draw card for me, especially when I’m with my little people. There seems to be amenities that can facilitate a wheelchair, but I’m not sure if I seen a change table in there. If you’ve got time to kill there’s books galore on the bookshelves for you to read while your there. I didn’t try the cabinet food, but will be back and edit my review.

I had not been here in years and came to meet a friend. The staff were welcoming and so friendly and the food and coffee were amazing. Sadly I left in a hurry and was not able to pass on my thanks for the wonderful experience, hence the review. I'll definitely be back.

Went there today. What I like very much is even when it is busy it is not noisy. You are not aware of people around you. Great coffee everytime. Great staff. Please support zink. Why not combine it with a trip to Raewood. Zink Cafe is next door. If you have books you no longer want take them to Zink book exchange and swap for books that you want to read. Good supply of books there to swap with.

Excellent coffee, food and service. Had seen it many times earlier but never been there. Just chose to visit today and I am not regretting it at all. Also loved the sweet treat they gave me with my order. What a lovely gesture. I would always visit this place!!!

Everything about this place is The Spot - the location is The Spot (right on the water) it is dog friendly, and the coffee and scones also hit The Spot. It's not 24 hours or anything, so you need to be there for its hours. But my brothers and sisters, I had a scone, and it was melt-in-your-mouth. It's also fun watching the husbands trying to put boats in the water while their wives stand on the dock, with a rictus smile, hoping that their spouse pulls it off. Caffeine and a 'floor show'. 😁

Lovely cafe serving good snacks in a relaxing environment (considering the location) at very reasonable prices. Really helpful staff found me a sugar free drink - first place in NZ to offer something other than diet coke (😝) or water so for that they deserve 10 stars!

Our favorite coffee stop in Motueka. The Atlantic toasted sandwich is the best. Can be chilly when it's cold and scorching when it's hot but there is some shade and a little shelter from the wind.

Great, sunny, friendly, outdoor spot for post-dog walk coffees, or after a bike ride along the waterfront. Views across the Motueka Marina to Wharepapa/Mt Arthur Range! 4 min walk from the Motueka Beach Reserve, Saltwater Baths & super convenient if staying in the freedom camping spot. How have I never noticed this place before? Maybe needs a sign or a flag at the roadside (or did I miss that too???) Next time I'll come later in the day and grab one of the sausage rolls! Looks yum

WATA is my go to breakfast cafe in Nelson. Their menu really works for me and the atomic coffee is always excellent. Staff are always happy and helpful. Seating in the booths is very comfortable and parking is rarely an issue.

It was a fresh morning, but the sun was shining and it seemed like a good day to wander around the famous Nelson Saturday Market. After a couple of circuits we were feeling a little peckish, and as much as we have our favourite market food stalls, we needed to warm up a bit and find a seat. Well how appropriate that we noticed this cafe with a sign out the front advertising it's warmth and seating! In we head and are quickly and kindly ushered into a booth with a few copies of the menu. Working through the very traditional selection of breakfast options, we settled on Eggs Benedict and the Pancakes with bacon and banana, and of course, Maple syrup! Of course this was preceded with some coffee, so 2 flat whites and a hot chocolate were arranged to warm the cockles! The coffee was good, hot and bitter, delivering the expected kick to get things going. This was quickly followed with the food. The eggs bene were delicious, the ciabatta bread light and crisp. The homemade hollandaise sauce had all of the right flavours going on, with a fresh lemon citrus burst. The eggs were cooked perfectly and the bacon was of a fine quality. The pancakes were equally as good, while more like a pikelet, they went well with the bananas and bacon, and I had a generous helping of this on top of my eggs bene! The staff were kind and helpful, and the food in the cabinet reflected a passion in flavour and presentation which you do not often see. A great visit, pop in and say hi.

This Brunch Bowl is one of my favourite breakfasts/lunches of all time—the flavour combinations are just brilliant, and it’s sooo healthy and clean. I’ve ordered it several times now, and the quality is the same every time. And the coffee of course is always consistently excellent.

Overpriced for the quality. Neinishe tart $7...all home made though... The polenta cake was near-stale - dry and solid. The creme on top was like whipped butter in texture; neither should be the case. The coffee was made well, and the flavour really nice. The selection of GF DF etc etc was good - inasmuch as it existed....I wasn’t paying those prices to try them given the condition of the polenta cake. Was good to be warned that the [full-sized dinner] fork for the cake might slip off the plate, so I “should be careful” 😳 Gave it back and said I’d just use a spoon. But the coffee was nice. Edit: chap just came out to ask about the cake n coffee (noticed I hadn’t touched it perhaps?) Offered to microwave it (nice...) and was made yesterday, so shouldn’t have been too bad? Nice intentions. :)

I like this cafe and really close to my house. The coffee is strong which is great but I so so so wish they served Oat, Almond or Coconut milk as Soy is just not for everyone and I find the Hazelnut milk a bit watery. The food is good with quite a few "amazing" Gluten Free options which awesome to see.

Good service. Good coffee. Good place for a meeting. I have connected for a few meetings here as it is between Nelson and Richmond and so for those that are driving in from out of Richmond iris a good compromise. Staff very friendly and helpful. Kinda trendy despite being beside a petrol station. Food looks nice too. Could be good place for a quick bite.

First visit and was impressed. Great cafe. Easy parking and great coffee and food. Will return.

Solid Smoothie and Friendly Staff.

Called in for breakfast at 8.30. It's a nice looking place with outdoor seating. Our bacon, eggs and hash browns were really good. The coffee was good too. Nice location near Tahunanui beach. The guy who took our orders was really disinterested.

Helen, Diane, Jerry and the team create simple but delicious food with something for all the family. One of the nicest outdoor cafes in the burbs. The hit of mint on the lamb feta and beetroot salad is superb.

Ok it was first table, but serving ok, lots of chips and 3 tiny meatballs, wontons, some other deep fryed pieces and the jalapeño pieces were just a laugh Surtenly won't go there again

We went few months back and sadly, mine and my partner's experience was a letdown. We ordered a latte (named "kidding" somthing), and the taste was sooo off-putting - it smelled like sour expired milk and made us feel queasy 🤢. Definitely wouldn't recommend! Almost landed in hospital...

Simply the best freakin' Mexican spiced mocha in all of existence! Get me there for one now and the next day!

Coffee and other drinks are amazing here! Had the flat white and the dirty Chai cinnamon Latte (I forget the actual name of the drink) and they were both incredible. They take card/pay wave and offer macadamia nut milk, almond milk and oat milk options. Pablo, the owner, is amazing and so nice to talk to. He has set up this space so nicely; you’ll definitely want to hang out here for a second or two! Remember to take your own drink ware if you want to take away or you can also purchase a reusable cup!

What a lovely spot. Best hot choccy in town, delicious alfajores (ymmuy chocolate+pb and jam biscuits) and tasty medialunas (Argentinian croissants) ...what else could you ask for? Ah yes, some great baristas to chat with! 💚🌱🌞

Pablo is a very friendly guy, very fun and engaging to chat with. The drink he made me was delicious, creamy, slightly sweet, but not overly. Very tasty, with spice and some complex aromas visiting La Planta made for a great morning out in Nelson. Highly recommend!

What a great find for morning coffee. We just went in for coffee, but seeing homemade cakes twisted our arm, didn't take much!. Two flat whites with a slice of lemon cake and a caramel slice were great. Friendly staff, comfy seating, and relaxed atmosphere. Thank you.

If you like rustic feel this is a great place. I always test a place like this by the quality of their cheese scones, and this one was excellent. Very chilled vibe and good coffee( I don't claim to be an expert in coffee) great to see new owners reopening, keeping the same excellent vibe, but putting their take on it. Will be back.

Nice coffee house with friendly staff. Has filter coffee along with your expresso coffees. Breakfast and pastries served too.

Our order: 1x Matcha Latte 1x Latte Large The hot drinks are really affordable and good. I asked for some sweetener for the matcha and had the options: Vanilla, Sugar or Honey. Honey was the perfect addition to my hot matcha. The Latte was also really good and might seem a bit stronger for some, but it was perfect for me. We picked the seats close to the window, which were very nice especially with the sun shining through the windows. ☺️

Gorgeous food, staff, coffee, and location. I recommend the avocado with beetroot hummus, but my favourite is the affogato! Oh, and enjoy the Tern good food and coffee while sitting at the window bench watching the world go by.

There was little to choose from in the cabinets at 1230pm on a Tuesday, but perhaps coming off the back of a long weekend it may have been hard to plan. We ordered from the menu, being Eggs Bene and friends chose Bagels with bacon.. they arrived dry, not buttered, filling of spinach and tomatoe which had zero attention paid to it or a dry side salad not dressed on the side. Eggs Benedict came on a dry muffin, dry spinach again no attention paid to it and hollandaise straight from a jar. Eggs though cooked perfectly and our Mochas were great. Sadly we will choose to go elsewhere for food.

Had a quick catch me up yesterday and our first time to try this Cafe with my wife and daughter. Turned out to be our favourite now! Our toddler even enjoyed her 2 fluffies! Great coffee, relaxing ambience, very helpful and very friendly staff. Even took a few bag of beans home. Definitely we’ll comeback when we go back to Nelson.
