This is a mixed review. The first time we visited for breakfast the food and service was wonderful. The next time we visited for dinner , my order was not correct. The main dish I ordered was not what I wanted and I didn’t receive the appetizer that I asked for. To top it off I used the restroom afterwards and I saw a cockroach in the women’s stall. I’m extremely disappointed as we had what I thought was a great experience the first time. I just want to post this so that you are well informed and can make choices accordingly.

Totally worth to stop and eat. Everything was pleasing to the and eye and to the stomach. Delicious. Coffee mediocre, for anyone that is a coffee lover.

Our hotel recommended Bistroteca for breakfast/brunch and it was fantastic! We had the scrambled eggs with bacon and the tsoureki French toast—both were delicious. I expected a tourist trap given the location, but the food and service were excellent. Definitely worth a visit in Kalamata!

More than just another respite from the Kalamata heat. The food is high quality, cooked and seasoned perfectly and the coffee just right. I can recommend the pork chop if you have the time to spare.

One of the best all day bistrots in town, with a wide selection of spirits, along with a regularly refurbished menu of sweet and salty delicacies and dishes, all prepared in store. Housed in a retro-fashionable lodge, with tables, stands and seats both indoors and in the lodge, at nights you can enjoy the music and bar/lounge ambience, a most popular social hotspot of the town. Friendly and experienced service, however prices are a bit on the high end nowadays or at least they could at least provide some kind of small snack or a handful of nuts along with your spirit. Highly recommended when visiting town or as a permanent resident.

Best food, great service! We went for Sunday brunch - got pancakes, bread/eggs/potatoes, and a small fried chicken sandwich. Very reasonable prices. Every dish was crafted with the most perfectly complementary flavors. The Greek coffee was strong and delicious.

The menu was a bit hit and miss with what was available when we visited, but didn't spoil the overall positive experience. Service was very friendly with a really nice nostalgic decor. The coffee was excellent ☕ Definitely recommend

We hit this place twice on our drive from Athens to Stoupa. They have a vegan make-your-own sandwich menu, and they make some delicious toasted sandwiches. Also has a coffee bar and dessert shop (though didn't check that out). Highly recommend!

We visited Blossom for brunch and tried a variety of dishes, including chicken and waffles, scrambled eggs, and a few others. The flavors overall were enjoyable, and the presentation was inviting. The scrambled eggs were fluffy and well-seasoned, and the chicken was nicely cooked. The only downside was that the waffles were a bit on the hard side, which took away from the otherwise great combination. Overall, Blossom offers a pleasant brunch experience in Kalamata with tasty options and a nice atmosphere — just hoping for slightly softer waffles next tiime.

Surely the best brunch in town! Very friendly staff and always happy to serve you. The only downside would be the waiting time for plates, which is close to 1 hour during peak hours. Also the coffee is one of the best in Kalamata.

Don't get your coffee here! Overhyped hipster coffee which is not worth your time. The waiters were very unfriendly and they don't even know if it's a self-service or if you have to order the drinks at the table. And compared to other coffee places it's way to expensive.. Nicely located in the town square. Great place to people watch if you can get a table facing the outside. The restaurant did not have too many clients sitting so we decided to give them a try. We started with sangria for drinks and unfortunately it was served to us at room temperature. This was easily corrected by requesting some ice cubes to add to our drinks. Once chilled, the drinks were quite good. For our main course we each ordered a different pasta dish (the olies and the Chicken). Both plates were ordered with penne but after a 45 minute wait, one arrived as spaghetti and the other as Penne. We did not even think of sending back the spaghetti and waiting another 45 minutes for our second dish, we instead accepted it with a hungry smile. Both plates arrived warm and were quite delicious. Portions were not large but sufficient to satisfy an appetite. This restaurant is only for those looking for a very “unrushed” experience, to take the time to appreciate the atmosphere and location. Anyone looking for a fast meal, should look elsewhere.

We ate at a time of day when we were the only patrons. Just as I was wondering why it's taking so long, I got the answer when the burger arrived. It was over overcooked, dry and tasteless. Too bad they didn't do same to the bacon which was undercooked and rubber- like. Oh I also expect CHEESE in a bacon cheeseburger. As it is listed as a main ingredient there should be more than " just enough for show". My companion who is always more merciful liked his " juicy" burger more, but he would have been much more satisfied if it included the so called juice.

Only one person speaks English. I ordered a vegetarian omelet with two types of cheese. I got an omelet with mystery meat. I asked what animal it was. "Traditional meat" was the non-informative answer.

We waited an eternity here for a simple meal of pizza and pasta. It took at least 20 minutes to bring a Coca Cola and water after ordering. It took another 20 for the food and I had to request cheese twice from two different waiters whilst the food was sitting in front of me going cold. The service was so poor I had to go inside and basically demand the cheese be brought to the table otherwise I would be refusing to pay for the pasta. Poorest service in Greece let along Kalamata. Food was also very mediocre in taste and bland.

Authentic Greek Farmers market with fantastic fresh produce and a lovely atmosphere. Worth getting up early. Google seems to think this is a restaurant - you can totally eat here but its more like grazing from stall to stall as you buy pastries, fresh fruit and honey.

Every saturday morning, starting from 7:30 the farmers market is open, To the market are coming farmers from all The Peloponese peninsula with fresh product from vegetables, fruits, sallads to all tipes of meets, fish etc , is the biggest market in the area.

Great old market that sells fruit, vedge, fish meat and cheeses. Also sell lots of tourist things to take home like olives , olive oil, dried figs herbs etc. The tourist stuff is much cheaper than you but at the tourist traps , so a good place to go to stock up on presents gor home. Nice friendly oeople that will give you samples to try without being pushy and will advise you obyhrbdifferent stuffed olives etc. The market is not far from the steps to the castle with nice veiws over kalamata. Plenty of traditional tavernas and cafe neon's serving drinks at uninflated price. A nice place to spend a few hours exploring the streets of the old part of town.

Market is an amazing sight and the best place to get produce in the area, fish and courgette flowers were our highlights. Well worth a visit and good to help local producers instead of the supermarkets.

The place is in a very nice location. All the bakeries are delicious. We didn't try the deserts though. The only thing we didn't like is the prices. It's not ok to charge 3 euros for a coffee to go. We pay like 2 - 2.5 in Athens for the same coffee.

We were there in October so it was quiet and we ate quite early. The food was ok. Average and not loads of choice of tapas. We had legume balls, patatas bravas, quesadillas and saganaki. The service was good with friendly staff.

Excellent !!! The food was absolutely delicious, very nice portions for Tapas. There were four of us, and there was something on the menu to please all. One of us is a vegetarian and the chef was very pleasant in accommodating our requests. The service was excellent, very helpful in explaining any questions on the menu and always with a smile. Cafekouti is the best coffee shop to get a cup of coffee-and-go in Kalamata. Their coffee is of exceptional quality but what impresses most is the way they work: all boys and girls cooperate fast in a calm manner and serve the coffee in a matter of seconds. I wish I had one more star for the service to offer, 5/5 is not enough. It is also nice to sit there and enjoy your coffee but for sure, there are other places in Kalamata e.g. in the center of the city or at the seaside that I would recommend. Choose Cafekouti on your way in Kalamata, on your way out and for your daily orders after waking up in the morning while being in Kalamata.

SO GOOD! We had 3 mornings in Kalamata and had breakfast there 3 times in a row and even afternoon coffee. We loved the flat white with single origins guatemalan beans, and also the food was so fresh, very flavorful (fresh oregano I think in the omelet?)… This place perfectly blends « hip n trendy specialty coffee » vibe, but with food that still has a Greek twist to it! Aaaaaand the owner is just lovely :):)

Not the best experience we have had at bars in Kalamata. Ordered 2 1/2 pints of draft beer (which came as 1/4 pints as the glasses were only half full each) and one glass of rose wine. Other customers who came in after us were served before us and when we had finished and wanted to pay the bartender wasn't anywhere around, so we were left waiting for them to return to be able to pay. My family came to visit me in Greece so we went to this restaurant and I must say we were pleasantly surprised. What a great find. This local restaurant is a must. Food was excellent, service was quick and the price was more than reasonable. Try the Loukaniko, shrimp pasta and the grill tower.

As the name implies this is a place right at the center of the town. It's easy to get there and although sometimes it might not be full of people, it is a great place. The menu has lots of interesting options and all of them are incredibly tasty and affordable. An underrated gem worth visiting.

The restaurant advertises "Italian modern cuisine," but our experience was far from it. The pizzas were a major disappointment, arriving undercooked and topped with an overly sweet and spicy sauce. The advertised 330ml draft beer seemed significantly smaller. The service was slow and inattentive, with staff more focused on their phones than on customers. The only positive was the location. I'd recommend avoiding the pizzas until they can be prepared properly.

The fresh orange, carrot and ginger juice was watery and I could barely taste ginger and there was no sign of carrot. The staff were helpful and pleasant but overall, it was lacking.

Went for a night out there. The place is stunning and has an amazing view on the marina. The dog'owner went to say hello which was also really nice. The food is ok. I only liked the croquettes. Pizza was undercooked and meatballs were not well seasoned. They have a good range of drinks and cocktails and really liked mine.

We have visited Kalamata many times and we always make sure to stop at Casa Marina. The view of the marina is stunning, both in the morning for a coffee, or in the evening for a lovely dinner. The food is delicious...the brunch is amazing...there are healthy options as well as more decadent options. The dinner menu has a great mix of choices, with everything being tasty and satisfying. Their wine and cocktail selection is perfect for dining. The wait staff is attentive and kind, especially with the needs of our family of six :) It is definitely a must see in Kalamata! Consistently wonderful people, beautiful view and great overall experience! HIghly recommend!!

A bit disappointing on the whole. The food was at best OK but expensive. Slow service and a bit chilly inside on a cold day. Water was 2.5 euros for a bottle. My salad consisted of many tomatoes and mozzarella but for 12 euros. No problems with car parking.

Platéa is my favourite of the cafés on the platéea. I have always found the service to be quick and efficient and the wait staff English is good enough to be understood. From club sandwits, frappés, EBT (comes in a pot with a pyramid tea bag - excellent for a non-tea-drinking country) through to salads and meals, Platéa is terrific. They have lounges, chairs, heaps of summer shade and the bathrooms are pristine.

It’s truly one of the best reasons to visit Kalamata. Every time we’re in the city, we make sure to stop by, and each visit is perfect. The bao buns are simply fantastic, and the quinoa salad never fails to surprise us with its fresh, brilliant flavors. The service is always great — friendly, attentive, and welcoming. Had the salmon souvlaki. Honestly one of the best meals I’ve had. Basic yet so full of flavours. Salmon cooked perfectly, beans charred and seasoned so you didn’t need to add anything, and the smash avo was the missing part. Damn I love Greece

A lovely beach bar. Beach lounges are free as long as you purchase something to eat or drink with no minimum charge. Service was friendly. We had the mixed grill for lunch which looked very impressive for €35. But I was very underwhelmed. The chips were just warm, the meats just ok, sausage was good. The salad tasted like it had no dressing at all. Had to ask for more vinegar and oil. I’d go for another dish. Maybe I was unlucky on the day. The place is still with the worth a visit.

Best meal we had in days! Service top notch, fast and furious. Chicken nuggets deliciously crispy outside, soft and juicy on the inside with amazing sauce on side. Very lovely beach spot where the beach beds are included if you order something to drink. We had dinner as well as brunch multiple times here and were really happy with it. Although the service is not always the quickest which might be because of the extremely hot weather in the summer the food makes up for it. We had de croque madame as well as the mini burgers which are a big recommendation. Price is average in comparison to other places around.

We really enjoyed our dinner at Thalassa! We both got pasta dishes; one pesto chicken and the other shrimp. The portion size was great and very yummy. What really stood out was the dessert - chocolate and salted caramel lava cakes! Delicious. The atmosphere was lovely and serene. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

My wife went to ask the waiters if the kitchen is open as it was Good Friday before Easter and there were 3-4 waiters talking together. A few of them went away laughing, probably because they could not understand English. Then a couple of waiters dressed in black were staying on a high chair table outside looking at the customers. I don't know why there were so many, probably some of them are volunteers. The manager would need to train them better how to behave with the customers. The waiter said he can prepare anything to be nistissimo and he brought a salad with a small tomato and a couple of rucola leaves. In terms of food it was a total disappointment. On top of this I came here as a recommendation from the HPA Hotel and I should have received a 10% discount which was not awarded, actually the check note never arrived, a waiter came with the POS and we paid. Total disaster! Go to the center, near the small church if you want good food. It is a pity that HPA City Hotel was recommending them as they were top class in terms of service and attitude towards the customer.

We really like Coffee Island and were excited to savor our favorite coffee brand during our vacation in the area. Regrettably, our experience was disappointing. The coffee we received was a far cry from the brew we've savored at every other Coffee Island in the past. The coffee was so bad that we discarded it immediately. Moreover, when I entered, I saw an employee - possibly the owner, given his level of comfort - in conversation using the loudspeaker of his mobile, reclining on a chair as if he were in his own home. Instances like this undermine the Coffee Island brand. I earnestly hope the company takes decisive action to ensure consistent quality and standards across all their locations throughout Greece.

Disappointment.. We were really looking forward to our dinner there as there was a great playground there for kids. But, most of the things on a very limited menu were not available (nothing from the kid’s menu was available!). The menu stated Eggs Benedict which is totally wrong it was 5 american pancakes instead of Brioche as stated on the menu with hard bacon in between sliced cold cheese a fried egg (not poached)and a milky very cold hollandaise definitely not an eggs Benedict . Waitress was very nice and very professional Lovely Girl. Waiter needs to be trained.
