Seafood restaurant
Bar
Zeerover is a popular restaurant located on a wharf in Savaneta, easily accessible by car from various attractions in Aruba. The restaurant offers a unique dining experience with an emphasis on fresh seafood, including locally caught fish like mahimahi and barracuda. Visitors can purchase ingredients by the kilo and have them fried or grilled to order.
Zeerover was our favorite restaurant in Aruba. It was highly recommended and we can understand why. There can be a line to order. The menu is very simple. Fried fish, shrimp, and fries. They have popsicles too. You can also get some condiments. The service can be slow, but it’s very much worth the wait. The ambience is amazing. Right on the coast with the waves and wind. The fish is super fresh and you can see it being prepared. Would definitely recommend when you’re in Aruba.

What a hidden gem! Very unique restaurant: you have to stand in line before you enter, order and pay your food, get your drinks and then get a table. Fish is different every day, they also have shrimp. Sides are fries, plantain, or cornbread- everything absolutely delicious! It's right next to the ocean, amazing view. A must when you visit Aruba!
Christina S — Google review
This place is definitely worth a visit . We enjoyed so much we went twice. I will be singing it's praises for all to visit. The menu is simple and that's fantastic. The fishes and shrimps are caught daily and preparation is simple and absolutely delicious. Everything we ate was a mouth watering experience. The hot sauce of the island was fantastic. This place is a must!
Clarice O — Google review
I enjoyed the experience. You wait in line to choose fresh fish and shrimp, and the amount you pick is weighed on the spot. What you selected is then fried right away for you to eat. The positives are that the food is very fresh! The shrimp are huge and the price is VERY affordable. However, I felt that everything had the same flavour… fried, with a kind of chimichurri sauce on top, and the shrimp are not so cleaned (the vein is still there). I also didn’t like having to wait an hour in line, in the heat, just to choose my meal. I loved the fact that you eat with your hands, no fuss! There are several sinks to wash your hands afterward! It’s worth the experience.
Talita L — Google review
Located on the beach, Great for seafood lovers. I had salad and plantain as not much for vegetarians. Others with me had fish. They seemed to enjoy it. Corn bread was actually pancake so do not order it. Fries were good. Place was reasonably priced. Place not very fancy and close to beach
Sho J — Google review
We went during the week around 3pm in the off season and there wasn’t a line. Staff was pretty friendly and helped explain how ordering works. You pick the types of fish and quantities then they fry it all. The food was disappointing. All the fish were deep fried and some pieces of fish were dry. Also lacked seasoning. I’m glad we went because it was recommend by many people but I wouldn’t go back. Luckily we didn’t have to wait in line because it’s definitely not worth it. It’s a pretty view from the patio, though.
Kate L — Google review
Such a unique experience! You pick your seafood at the counter, they weigh it in front of you, and it’s all super fresh — straight from the fishermen’s catch of the day. The fried fish and shrimp were delicious, perfectly seasoned. The atmosphere is casual and right by the water, which makes it feel very local and authentic. Definitely a must-visit when in Aruba!
Doha H — Google review
Fresh fried fish that's as good as it's reputation! Pro tip...get there as soon as it opens if you want to beat the lunchtime hordes, avoid a long line/wait time, and get the best seating out by the water!

Situated on the serene end of Palm Beach, The Ritz-Carlton, Aruba stands out as the sole luxury-branded resort on the island. Boasting 320 lavish rooms and 55 suites inspired by Dutch-Aruban architecture, this beachfront retreat offers an array of amenities. Guests can enjoy two outdoor pools, a 24-hour casino, and a 15,000-square-foot spa with 13 treatment rooms.
I chose The Ritz Aruba for my family summer vacation. What a magnificent beach situated on Palm Beach! One of the best beaches in the world! Water crisp turquoise with zero weeds. White sand as if it is swiped clean every day (which they do). Calm beach with min noise considering it is family (kids) friendly. The hotel rooms are super but housekeeping is delayed, you need to stress the time for them. All amenities are included with a small wine fridge! Luxury bedding and toilet. The restaurants 3 of them could have added more varieties or dishes especially the Casa Nonna. The staff are so friendly, polite and courteous. Check in and out using the app is very easy. If only it was an adult only resort, it would have been my dream place, yet one of the best I stayed at. Highly recommended. Thank you Ritz for this one.

A Truly Unforgettable Experience! We recently stayed at the Ritz-Carlton Aruba for our anniversary, and it was absolutely magical. From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make us feel special—every detail was thoughtfully attended to, making our celebration unforgettable. The grounds are breathtaking, meticulously maintained, and provide the perfect backdrop for a relaxing getaway. The beaches are stunning, with crystal-clear water and soft white sand, ideal for leisurely strolls or simply soaking up the sun. Our room was beautiful, spacious, and incredibly comfortable, offering a serene retreat after a day of exploring and watching the beautiful sunsets. What truly sets this resort apart, however, is the exceptional staff—friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate about making guests feel welcome. Don't think about it - it's definitely worth the splurge. Every moment of our stay felt special, and we couldn’t have asked for a more perfect way to celebrate our anniversary. We’ll definitely be returning!

We had a nice stay last week. The service was excellent. Pool attendants are almost over the top in their effort to meet your needs. Room was large, but a little bland. Cleaning folks were outstanding. Loved the lounge people. 5 stars overall. My only complaint would be the BLT restaurant - see my review.

An absolutely incredible experience! 10/10 service! All staff are ready to help with a big smile! everyone is so friendly and kind. Special thanks to the guest relations STAR Marco for helping me with everything from the beginning! We loved everything!

This was our first time to stay at The Ritz Carlton in Aruba. We’ve been to Aruba many many times and I didn’t know what to expect. What could make this experience worth the extra money over the other beautiful resorts we’ve experienced here? The hotel is nice, but nothing exceptionally better than some other wonderful ones. I decided to wait until the end of our stay to sum up my thoughts. Then we ate breakfast on our last day and something happened that completely sums it up perfectly… I ordered Eggs Benedict for breakfast at Solanio (Ana is the best server ever!). I noticed that the eggs weren’t runny, but eh, whatever. I didn’t even mention it to my husband. Then I hear a man say, “excuse me ma’am, how are your eggs? They came out a bit hard. I’ve brought you some new ones.” And he handed me a plate of Eggs Benedict with perfectly runny eggs. The hotel is lovely, but the service was exceptional. Our names were remembered by everyone who helped us even once. They all seemed to have it as their mission to make it the perfect week. It was an incredibly relaxing week for us, which was our priority. We will 100% come back here again. It’s worth the extra money.
Jeannie M — Google review
Came for our honeymoon and felt no one wanted to make us feel special, no above and beyond service, no “congratulations” despite a note in booking and saying something at check in. Room charges will be hidden in your final checkout and unfortunately, not a single congratulations or special anything. Instead, charged very much for a simple room with awful beach service. It seems they only come to those who have been here longer, we couldn’t afford it. I’m leaving heartbroken and disappointed, it’s my first time here in Aruba and at a ritz and I feel taken advantage of. Please don’t come if you’re trying to celebrate something special.
Anna K — Google review
Be cautious about the safety and security of high value items due to theft. My husband and I stayed here last week and a member of the cleaning staff took a significant amount of money from our hotel room while we were at the beach. We spent the last two days of the trip dealing with hotel staff and escalting with local authorities, but the amount of "help" we received was really insufficient as they seemed to imply we were making the story up. We filed a complaint with the Marriott Corporate office, as the Ritz after "internal review" wasn't even willing to compensate us 50% of the stolen money in Bonvoy points as their employees had "long histories of no incidents." An entire trip was ruined due to the theft and how we were managed afterwards, so be wary of your valuables when you come.
Elif A — Google review
The cleaning staff stole money out of our hotel room and the Ritz's management was dismissive to us while on property, implying that the theft didn't actually occur. Then, when filing a complaint afterwards, we were essentially offered 40% of what was stolen in Bonvoy points and told that was all they were willing to do because their cleaning staff had a great service record. We had half our trip ruined dealing with hotel management and local police after the theft occurred and then for them to be so unwilling to take any action to properly compensate us after our stay for the monetary loss/terrible experience was very off-putting. Beware of theft if you go.

The Renaissance Wind Creek Aruba Resort is a luxurious casino resort in downtown Oranjestad, offering two distinct experiences. The adults-only Marina Hotel building provides a social ambience and vibrant nightlife, while the family-friendly Ocean Suites offer spacious accommodations with pull-out sofas. Guests can enjoy access to Aruba's largest casino, an outdoor pool, and a fitness center.
We stayed as four adults at the Renaissance Wind Creek Resort (Marina Side, all-inclusive) and had a wonderful experience. The hotel was beautiful, the rooms were small but very clean and equipped with all the essentials, and the food and drinks were very good. The staff were amazing—friendly, hospitable, and provided excellent personalized service. A highlight of our stay was the private Renaissance Island, with convenient boat pickup from the hotel. The island was stunning, with flamingos to feed, iguanas, free mats, and snorkelling gear. We saw lots of fish and even an octopus while snorkelling in the cove. The sand was soft, the water was clear, and the island bathrooms were well maintained. The pool on the Marina Side was also very nice, and the location felt safe and enjoyable to walk around, with the Marina and Ocean sides easily accessible by foot or shuttle. Overall, we had an amazing stay and would highly recommend it!
Cora S — Google review
When I was looking to book, I was torn between the Marina side versus the ocean side. I chose the Marina side and was very happy with my choice. The staff were absolutely phenomenal— kind, attentive, and patient. I loved how the flamingo beach boat picked you up in the middle of the hotel, do you didn’t have to wait outside (like ocean side). The pool had great seating, music, and views. The marina side was adults only which was nice when it came to late nights in the pool. The rooms were updated and had a great coastal design to them. The housekeepers were so sweet and did a great job. The hotel was located centrally that we could walk to two hotels, the marketplace, and authentic restaurants. It was incredibly easy to get a taxi to take you wherever you needed as they always had taxis at the location. It was a great experience and we will definitely be back to Aruba, and will stay here again.
Allison W — Google review
The people here are so extremely nice in every service area. The rooms are great. The island experience is amazing, and would be great for kids. We ate at LG Smith last night and it was very good. My wife loved it. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone
James O — Google review
Beautiful, well-maintained hotel with warm and welcoming staff. We stayed on the adults-only side, but the pool was under renovation, so we used the Ocean Suites pool and beach. The beach was amazing, service excellent, and food delicious. Drinks were weak. We were upgraded to an Ocean View room, the view also included a parking lot and cruise ships, not quite what we expected. Housekeeping was fantastic, especially the nightly visits with towels, water, and chocolates. Unlimited access to Flamingo Island was a great perk. Overall, a wonderful stay and we’d definitely come back.
Yvelisse A — Google review
We recently stayed at the Renaissance Wind Creek Hotel in Aruba, and while the resort itself is absolutely stunning, it was Eider Mendoza who truly elevated our experience from great to unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, he was welcoming, knowledgeable, and incredibly attentive to our needs. Whether it was booking dinner reservations at the island’s best hidden gems, arranging last-minute excursions, or giving us insider tips on the best beaches and local spots away from the crowds — he had it all covered with a smile. Every recommendation was spot on, and it was clear he genuinely cared about making our stay special. Eider’s guidance made a world of difference and turned our vacation into something we’ll always remember. Thank you for going above and beyond — we can’t wait to return!
Tiffany H — Google review
I visited Flamingo Island (Renaissance Island) in Aruba this week with my daughter to celebrate her birthday and paid $250 for a day pass. Unfortunately, our experience started poorly due to how one of the staff members treated us. While waiting for the boat, I stood up to take photos of my daughter near the dock. The staff member suddenly shouted at me, accused me of cutting the line, and insisted I board last even though several people arrived after us. When I tried to calmly explain that I was only taking video and wasn’t sure if it was the correct boat and I was approaching her to ask her a question and NOT to cut the line, she refused to listen and even called security to have us removed from the boat. Thankfully, the security guards realized the situation was exaggerated and allowed us to stay. It was embarrassing and upsetting to be treated that way in front of others. I’m a very respectful person both in my personal life and at work, where I’m well respected by my colleagues so this experience truly shocked me. I’ve traveled to over 25 countries and have always appreciated kind and professional service, but this interaction was disappointing and uncalled for. I hope management provides better training so future guests feel welcomed and respected. The island itself is beautiful, but this incident left a lasting negative impression.
Tora F — Google review
I loved this hotel! I’ve already recommended it to people who have asked me about it! And I just want to give a special thank you to yessica at the front desk. She really made me and my girlfriend trip. I was not expecting anything special when I said we were celebrating my girlfriend birthday but yessica really made our trip special. The champagne and birthday cake were amazing and i really appreciate her for that. And I will be making this property my go to every time I visit Aruba.
Vital C — Google review
What made my stay truly memorable was the wonderful team. Betty, who serves breakfast at Aquarius, was incredibly sweet and welcoming. Emilio at the front desk was always helpful with a warm smile. Chef Pierre made sure I enjoyed the freshest seafood, and María José from housekeeping treated me with such care. The room was spacious, the bed cozy – a perfect experience overall

Takeout Restaurant
Groteberg Snack is a hidden gem located at Grote Bergweg 17 in San Nicolas, Aruba. The restaurant is known for its delicious Johnny Cakes that taste like they came out of grandma's kitchen. It's a favorite among locals and tourists alike, offering a variety of flavors such as salt fish, chicken and cheese, ham and cheese, and plain cheese. The atmosphere is simple but welcoming, with a patio where you can enjoy your meal.
Great johnnycake made by locals. This is the first time I had this food so I can't comment about how it should taste but I can tell you I had 2 saltfish and half tuna johnnycake and I liked it. It is a flour based type of sandwich that is fried with the protein of your choice. We had 5 of them with an assortment of drinks that came to $27. Highly recommended!

The people working at Groteberg Snack were so nice and warming. This place is in an area near the church, and you should definitely come here. We got the salt fish and Johnny Cake, which was apparently one of the favourites of the person working there. It did not disappoint.

Delicious Johnny Cakes. I got four different ones from egg and cheese to chicken and cheese. Note that they can get busy and I had to wait about 10 - 15 minutes for my order to be ready.
Daviyion J — Google review
Did carry out! Johnny cakes were great, ordered saltfish and chicken. Chicken was very salty. Watch the hours of business, they do close early if they are out of food, which is understandable. Johnny cakes were really best we had on the island, so light and fluffy. Not weighed down with oil.
Sally A — Google review
A local spot. If visiting Aruba a must stop for lunch. The corned beef johnnycake was 10/10, all made to order. The owner was on the scene, welcomed us and took our order. FYI every customer, who walks in, will greet you with a Bon boni.

While exploring the southern part of Aruba during our weeklong vacation, we had to stop by Groteberg Snack to try the local food. This place did not disappoint! We loved the lady who owns the place and her personality. We ended up ordering a Chicken & Cheese, Ham & Cheese and the Saltfish & Cheese. We also tried a Vita Malt. After a 15 minute wait (which we were informed of when ordering), the food came out and it tasted great. This is something that we have never experienced in the US and we absolutely loved everything! Thank you Groteberg Snack for a wonderful experience!

We visited Aruba and the first day we just drove around to get a feel for the island and see what the island had to offer. We don't like to use maps the first few days, we just randomly drive around and we managed to stumble upon this place. We absolutely loved the food the very first day and was very happy how they treated us because well we didn't have any cash on us, just a credit card which wasn't accepted for whatever reason but they even let us leave to go grab cash at a nearby ATM lol. I thought that was pretty cool and of course we happily returned. Food was amazing and so were the two persons working. We struggled to communicate but it was so fun....so much we returned on our last day to get another meal and some take away for Dinner that evening. Love this place and recommend everyone that can, to go and visit this small little snack bar to check them out.

Best pastechi that we’ve tried on the island. The chicken and ham & cheese are amazing. You won’t regret going! $1.50 US/each!

Popular takeaway for pastechi and pan sandwiches. Appears to be open morning hours only. No signage: look for all the cars on the side of the road. The pastechi are crispy and flaky, not greasy at all. We had the Galina (chicken) and Keshi (gouda cheese) pastiche and both were excellent. They also have fresh pan sandwiches, including scrambled egg (w sausage) and chicken. Plus a wide variety of beverages. Very kind service! Come early (7-9am) and bring cash.

So happy we heard about this place- if you want delicious, local pastechis this is where you need to go!! My fiance picked us up pastechis multiple mornings from here, tried the chicken, beef, tuna and ham and cheese - all absolutely delicious!!! Highly recommend if looking for tasty, local Aruban pastechis on the island. You also can’t beat the prices!

Ms Lisette was amazing at creating a cake and bouquet for my husband’s 50th. We did everything via email and I had no ideas what it would look like upon delivery ( blind faith ) We traveled down from the US and she was great to work with up to delivery to the hotel, which was done with so much care. The hotel let me know I picked the best on the island to do the cake. Thank you Lisette for creating a beautiful cake and helping make the day truly special!! He loved it

Bakery
Huchada Bakery is a popular spot in Aruba known for its authentic Aruban snacks and baked goods. Located near Arikok National Park, this colorful bakery offers a wide variety of sweet treats, including the traditional tom poezen, as well as savory options. The bakery has expanded its menu to include hearty international and local breakfast, lunch, and dinner choices such as stobas and sopas.
Everything looks delicious. We had some cakes and they were great. Not so sweet but just the right taste. I love it.

The staff were welcoming and attentive, making the experience pleasant overall. While the service stood out, I found the pastries to be a bit underwhelming compared to the hype. They looked great but didn’t quite deliver on flavour or freshness. That said, it’s still a nice place to stop by for a quick bite or coffee, especially if you’re in the area and want a relaxing atmosphere.

A local told me that this was the best bakery on the island. While I don't know about that, it is fantastic! I've had both the sweet and savory things there and everything has been fantastic. Be prepared to wait in line as it is always packed!

The ham & cheese pastechi was tasty, but the beef pastechi was dry, scanty and flavourless. The vruchten gebak was perfectly sweet, unfortunately tasted slightly stale.

Great local bakery. Staff were welcoming and friendly. Pastries and pastechi were good.

I love how much they have grown over the years. Lovely space and decoration. The mini pastechis were great and that beautiful tiramisu cake was amazing. My only suggestion would be to add an additional step to the two steps going to the pizza area. Someone could take a tumble because they are very steep.

Great bakery with a good selection of cakes, sandwiches, and soups. Friendly staff, affordable prices, indoor seating.

Amazing pastechi and pastries. Staff is extremely kind and it's worth every penny. Would definitely come back if I'm ever on the island again.

Came for Thursday breakfast. Park in front of restaurant or on the side. I ordered a scrambled egg. Here, the eggs are fried/scrambled and then the veggies are placed in the middle of the 2 egg scrambles. Mushroom was added by the cook after it was already cooked and I was not aware until she told me. Fortunately, I had no problem with that :) They did not have salsa to add but it was still all good. Came with a delicious bread, that I TORE up lol My friend had somekind of breakfast sandwhich that he Loved. He was also given an extra heaping of bacon and apparently the potatoes were delish!

Worth the wait! Not a lot of breakfast options in the area, we stumbled upon this little cafe, which has plenty of outdoor seating and a solid breakfast menu to start your morning off with a wonderful savory kick. Handmade arepas and empanadas were fantastic. Go for the full house arepas, with madam Jeanette hot sauce and/or a nonspicy garlic dipping sauce.

A lovely little local bakery with a large variety of cakes by the slice . The Gentleman behind the counter was friendly and super helpful with an amazingly outgoing charming character. We loved the Cheese Cake and the Cashew Pete cake and plan to go back to try the breakfast buffet. But even if I didn't love my slice of cake (which I did 😋) we both agreed the host at the counter was so much fun we would go back again .

Bought some slices of cake that looked good. My son was eating one and said it didn't taste too good. Looked at the bottom and it was covered in green and blue mold. I gave them 2 stars only because they gave me a refund for the cake immediately.

We went for breakfast and ordered the scrambles eggs and the omelet. Both came out way to salty. Coffee was weak and looked like the coffee grinds from yesterday. Since this was our first time we gave them 2 stars as we will give them another shot. After that we will review them again

Fresh and delicious cakes. Best on the Island. All you can eat breakfast buffet on weekends for 20 florin (about $12). Just Incredible. Will be going back soon.

Bakery
Nestled in the heart of Aruba, Bright Bakery has been a cherished institution since its establishment in 1949 by Harry Bareno. This family-owned gem is renowned for its delightful array of baked goods that cater to both locals and visitors alike. The bakery's signature pastechis, with their unique BRIGHT BAKERY imprint, come in various flavors such as cheese, fish, and chop suey—perfect for a quick snack or lunch on the go.
AMAZING custom cake decorating! And tasted great! They were fast with taking in my order and right on time with delivery to our hotel! 10/10 recommend this fabulous bakery.

We were pushed into using this bakery by the hotel where we hosted our wedding. It was a $600 wedding cake, and it was undoubtedly the worst wedding cake I've ever tasted. The cake was dry, coarse, and crumbly with thin, gritty icing at the tasting two months prior to the wedding. We hoped, based on the hotel's insistence and our feedback, that it would be better at the wedding. It was in fact WORSE. I don't have our wedding video back yet but I'm hoping our faces don't show how sour we felt about this cake during our cake cutting. The wedding cake being so bad at my own wedding was embarrassing. I'm an avid baker and cake is my favorite dessert. We asked for a very basic look - white frosting with florals that they purchased - so it LOOKED fine. But I could have gotten the photo op moment for a lot less than $600; the point was that I wanted to feed our guests a good cake! Thank goodness we ordered other desserts. Do NOT use this bakery for any event that is special to you. You are literally better off with a sheet cake from Super Food. Photos are from our tasting. It's hard to depict taste but you can see how much they skimped on icing and how crumbly the cake is.

Was just telling my husband that I haven’t seen a bakery on the island and then suddenly we stumbled on this gem! The club sandwich was the best club I’ve ever had! Prices are very reasonable and pastries were delicious!

Not bad. Stopped by in the way to the beaches. Grabbed some desserts. Little confusing on how to order, but was good and very reasonable priced.

Oldest bakery on the island, our first visit here (to the bakery). We will definitely have to go back. We didn't have much time, so we both tried a pastry this time. Next time I would like to have more time and try breakfast or lunch. Pastries all look delicious.

Imagine giving this local company multiple chances, and still you dont get the service that you payed for. Years ago they completely did not make my baptism desserts. Then for my son's 3rd birthday did not do the cake in the color palette that I asked for. Last year came to the store gave them an inspiration picture, with some modifications (asked for red fondant). Disappointed me with not following through with the modifications. They simply said too bad, to try next year, via email, to avoid issues. Low and behold, this years cake again not doing what I asked. Anywho, I used to vouch for bright bakery, due to locally owned, and fair prices. But I guess not anymore. And even when telling them about their mistakes, they try to blame the customer. If you have something important try someone else like Cesar's cakes, at least he does what you ask for.

Tried Huchada twice but the line was out the door both times. Bright Bakery is just down the road. We had pastries one day and a real breakfast (French toast, eggs, omelettes) the other. Service was good TAKE A NUMBER WHEN YOU GO IN. Prices more than fair compared to breakfast in the hotel areas.
Rainmakr — Google review
They made multiple errors and didn’t attempt to fix or compensate for it. The cake also didn’t taste good. I definitely wouldn’t recommend this bakery. I wish I didn’t waste my money ordering my birthday cake from this shop.
