Best wine bar in Assisi. I’m here on pilgrimage right now. Have already been here twice today and will definitely be returning before we leave! Nila is wonderful!

Visiting Bibenda Assisi was one of the highlights of our trip. From the moment we stepped inside, we were welcomed by Nila, whose passion for wine and local products truly shines through. Every glass she poured came with a story — about the vineyard, the region, and the people behind it — turning our tasting into an 5 star experience! The wine selection was exceptional, especially the local Umbrian reds and the house wine “Francesco.”

We visited Bibenda first time five years ago. It was a great impression of wine tasting. It was so good to come back and have a wonderful tasting of very interesting selection of local wines. Hopefully not the last time. Thanks a lot, Nila!

We had an absolutely wonderful afternoon at Bibenda Assisi Wine Tasting. Nila is a sweetheart, so knowledgeable, and kind. We learned so much about wine and it was the highlight of our trip to Assisi. Great wine, great food, lots of laughs and pleasant conservations. If you’re looking for a good place to do some wine tasting and learn about wine from an experienced expert… this is the place for you. You will love every minute and you will not regret it! There is a wonderful collection of wine available for purchase. The next time we are in Italy, we will be back for sure!

What a fantastic wine tasting experience! We couldn't more highly recommend a visit. Stop what you're doing and give this fantastic woman a call. She'll take a reservation if you call ahead. She's from Ukraine but a master Somalia and has traveled around the world. She's collected soil samples from wine regions around the world and has the photos and the wisdom to prove it. If you're looking for a light meal, wine tasting, or just a great bottle of wine while you're in Assisi this is where you need to be.

Wine tasting- What an experience! Nila was extremely an knowledgeable hostess and taught us so well. She provided us with delicious snacks and incredible wine. This was an experience we truly never would have gotten anywhere else. We would recommend this wine tasting experience to all couples traveling who would like to learn more about wine and food pairings!

Located in the heart of the Piazza. They have a friendly service. Food quality is good and ingredients are fresh. Prices are reasonable. The truffle product had a very mild taste and odor of truffle but food was good overall.

Or first night in Assisi there were 4 of us and we sat outside. The food was okay, we had a couple pasta dishes and some lasagna. We almost got up and left but we'd ordered our food already. The witter was so rude, he cut each of us off as we were ordering. They brought a bag of bread which contained 4 tiny corners for the 4 of us, barely enough to wipe off the sauce from our plates. Food was okay.

The setting is nice, with a central square atmosphere, but unfortunately it was on a slope which made everything slide on the table. The food itself was less than average in terms of taste, and the prices felt quite high for what we got

We popped in here to escape the crowds and heat and ate inside. We had the salad with chicken, the side salad, the torta al testo (bread sticks), and the potato leek soup. Everything was excellent! The soup had crumbled saffron breadcrumbs and I ate every bit! The salads had a nice mix of greens. Our waitress was fast and funny.

Very delicious and was super quick. The nice part was that it was open on the early side. Most restaurants do not open until 7 or 7:30 pm.

We were recommended to this restaurant by our host and it did not disappoint. It looks touristly but turned out to be very popular with locals. Everything was delicious but the lasagna with bacon, mushroom and truffle was something uniquely flavourful to us. Their ham was also very decent. Service was actually pretty fast compared to the average. Recommended to arrive early for lunch since the place was full after 1245.

Great lunch experience tasting the local cuisine. I believe truffle is very popular in this area and used in some of dishes. My wife ordered delicious lasagna with mushroom and truffle. Mine was veal fillets and artichoke with red wine sauce. Assorted antipasti to start and local wine to pair with. Nice and attentive staffs.

It’s a must stop every time i’m in Assisi. If you want delicious authentic Umbrian food, look no further! Reservations will help secure a table.

We were preparing our self for some simple sandwich Assisi being such a touristic place. What a luck to find this gem! Small and cozy with Italian grandma rulling the kitchen. We had truffle pasta, where you taste the truffle and not just smell a bit of truffle powder. The other dish we've ordered was typical for the town and region - pigeon. Hard to compare it with anything if you haven't tried it. Beyond delicious!

This is definitely the perfect place for a slow dinner! Everything about it is cozy and intimate; perfect for family, friends, or solo diners. I am of the latter and had an amazing meal by myself at a two seat table at the front. As soon as I walked in, my nose lit up with truffle so I knew it was going to be good. My amazing waiter from Senegal recommended a dish and customized it according to my preference. Just as I thought, the truffle pasta was something of a dream. I will absolutely be back here!

My husband and I had one of the best pasta in this restaurant. Friendly service and vet cosy restaurant.

Lovely alleyway lunch with gnoochi in goose sauce and wine from orvieto. Was gifted a slice of bread in Umbria olive oil. I was so pleasantly surprised how tasty it was on warm bread. The toilet is beautifully designed and sexy haha

Enjoyed a wonderful meal on two occasions, cannot say enough about the food and service. The lentil soup was the best I EVER had in my life. Vegan friendly but also a carnivores paradise. Generous portions and fair price. Highly recommend a reservation in advance.

Had much today. Service was fast friendly and efficient. We sat on patio with view. We first dined here in 2017. We often bring gusts when touring Assisi. Food is excellent and the views amazing. Reservations required. Highly recommended.

Amazing view from the terrace. If you time it right, you can watch the sunset. Really friendly and super efficient service. Best to reserve but we were lucky with a walk in for two immediately as they opened at 7.15pm. Lovely food and an excellent bottle of Orvieto Classico for a very good price. One of the most enjoyable dinners I've had in a long time.

Very rude manager - at 14:45, I very politely asked if he spoke English and then asked if it's possible to order a coffee and he said, quote, "we're not a bar, we're a restaurant and we are closed." Sign posted outside says they're open until 15:30. He could have at least shared sorry, that's not possible as we're a restaurant. It's possible you'll receive service if you're white (I'm not). I visited years ago and was warmly welcomed and had an early afternoon coffee on the terrace, unsure if the manager was having a bad day or if it's the rise in hostility towards non-white people. Either way, I'd avoid. Update: my partner was there and heard the entire conversation, the manager's reply is not true. He was very rude and smirked and me, it was 14:45 (I have a Google Maps timeline to show we arrived at 14:42) and we would have been happy to order lunch if he shared that as an option but didn't even invite us to come back later, he definitely did not thank me and definitely did not suggest ordering food or lunch, he outright said we are not a bar and we are closed. He clearly did not want my business. This is the complete opposite of other businesses in Assisi that warmly welcomed us for coffee and dessert, and several that went out of their way to hand me a business card and invite me for dinner. I don't recommend eating at Le Terrazze di Properzio.

I would recommend this place to anyone visiting Assisi. The food is delicious, the menu offers plenty of choice. Aside from the very extensive wine list they also have a few curious beer options. The staff is very friendly, polite and speak english very well. If this wasnt reason enough, the view from the terrace is astonishing. Make sure to be here at around 20.30 to watch the sunset while enjoying good food and drinks.

Perfect for a date! The raviolis were very tasty. I recommend making a reservation if you want the perfect view but even if you don’t have one the whole restaurant is beautiful.

This was a really great experience. The view is incredible and the food and wine were great. Make a reservation. Staff is competent and helpful but in a very Italian way, so (for my fellow Americans) don't expect the constant checking you might get in the US. Ask politely for what you want (seeing the wine list again, ordering another dish, etc or you'll be waiting a while.

We loved the atmosphere and the service. The place is decorated with incredible taste. You can sit both inside and outside and it’s equally lovely. The waiters are impeccable and always willing to help with a smile on their face. We tried the pasta with cinghiale and a beef carpaccio. Very well done and yummy 😋 They have a great selection of wines to pick from.

Food, service and atmosphere are all 5 stars. We have been travelling most of Italy over the past 2 weeks and Assisi has had some of the best foods along with Rome. We came to Enoteca Mazzini for dinner and we were the first customers since we like our dinner earlier. Anyway once seated the waiter who spoke good English took our order. Both our pasta dishes were incredible. Super delicious. Service was also quick and great. Our server was awesome. The outdoor seating area of this restaurant is like heaven. It is like a scene from a movie. While seating there multiple people stopped to just take pictures of the beautiful outdoor area. All in all we had great food, great wine, great service and great time. 100% recommended

This is really a wine lover’s pilgrimage. The restaurant is an extension of the best wine shop in Assisi. The selection is truly spectacular. The food is typical of the region and served hot and delicious. The staff is friendly and Moma is at the front desk. They have the best most private out door seating in Assisi. The pricing is good and so is the English.

Giving two stars because they downplayed me drinking out of a glass that seemingly had pigeon poo. They leave the tables set so when we arrived, the glasses were already set out. We ordered some water and the server poured some water into my glass. After drinking out of it, I realized it had a big drip of what looked like it was possibly bird poo down the side and asked for a new glass. When we checked out, my husband, who speaks Italian, told the lady that this had happened and she said it was okay because they changed my glass. It is absolutely not okay and I feel disgusted. The food itself was fine but nothing I’d go back for. The location itself is cute as it’s tucked away and feels a bit more secluded while still being outside. Note to the staff, it’s not okay to serve patrons out of poo dirtied glasses and especially not okay to downplay it when they bring it to your attention.

Love, love, loved this place. The garden setting is absolutely charming. So beautiful— a moment of rest from the city. The hand made pasta is second to none. You know its quality the moment you taste it. The gorgeous plates are works of art in themselves. Wait till you see the way they light up your meal! I had black truffles and pasta. It was completely perfect. The insalata mixta was fresh and beautiful, a perfect compliment. What a memorable meal. My partner had the boar and pasta. You need to get this fish in Assisi, without question. The house red wine is exactly what we wanted, a perfect Taste of Italy.

We had a lovely lunch here, great food variety, good wine and nice service. The atmosphere and lovely decoration is a plus! I chose the Parmigiana which I’ve never tried before and wasn’t disappointed with the result. Also the traditional biscuit from Umbria with almond was worth a try. Definitely recommend!

Food was okay It has a great atmosphere and beautiful dining space But the service even if it was quick the severs could not speak English and were not kind (shook his head behind our back because we did not understand him)

No better place in town! Tucked in a quiet corner of Piazza San Ruffino, away from the crowds. A charming atmospheric little place, indoor/outdoor seating. The torta al testo is superior. Although I’ve tried several other places in town in my 4 days here, in all price categories, and many quite good, I keep coming back here …breakfast, lunch and dinner. A traditional bar caffè with solidly good Umbrian food and hospitality, places like this are what makes travel in Italy so wonderful.

Nice spot. However, beware of the price, we stood at the bar and had 2 coffees and a pastry. Overcharged, euro9.50. It wasn't until we had paid and walking down the street that we realised we had been ripped off and avoid this place.

We stayed in Montepulciano in May and wanted to have a spa day as part of our two weeks in Italy. Luck would have it that, we discovered NUN in Assisi which was available as a day spa. It was an unforgettable experience to enjoy the NUN spa circuit for three hours and then have an amazing massage and for my wife the exfoliating scrub. The spa is exactly like the pictures and the staff are very friendly and welcoming. Don't miss this experience!

What’s not to love, staff are attentive & engaging. Rooms and hotel spotless. Pools & sauna a real treat too. Ate in restaurant one evening and good food & reasonably priced. Would recommend & happily go back. Not cheap but great value, thank you for a lovely visit.

NUN was the highlight of our trip. The service was excellent. All the staff were warm & welcoming. Specifically, Michele made our stay wonderful; he was so attentive, greeted us immediately, and remembered all our preferences. Every detail of the hotel is perfectly cared for and very clean. We enjoyed the Spa and gardens. One of our best meals of our trip was a simple pasta lunch on the patio. If you are visiting Assisi, be sure to treat yourself at NUN.

Lovely hotel run by lovely people. Very comfortable bed, great shower, nice outlook on to garden and tower. Enjoyed everything about our stay. The spa is excellent. We both had a massage which whilst on the expensive side was very good. The setting for the spa is very beautiful as is every one who looked after us!

Only a couple of weeks ago, for my 70th birthday, I treated myself to a full day of indulgence at the spa. Thought I had died and gone to heaven. The beautiful angel who gave me the best full body massage in my entire existence was par excellence! I can highly recommend the Nun Assisi Relais&Spa Museum at Assisi.

Turns out the restaurant is a fine dining. We ordered 3 main dish. 1. Lamb with potato was juicy with tasty sauce, perfect combination 2. Grilled chicken taste different than others, red sauce was unique, not bolognese. But not my favorite, though 3. Duck breast with crispy pork, meat was tender but a bit plain for my liking. I’d prefer there’s more sauce as it was too dry Service was so so. Portion was smaller than the fine dining we had in Sienna & Florence. Overall not that impressed with the price we paid

Love this beautiful restaurant, amazing decor, kind service, and the food was great too. I ate the octopus and it was beyond my expectations. Their apple dessert was great too! Very recommended while you're in Assisi.

I was surprised to see such affordable price considering the view of the Basilica of Saint Francis from the restaurant. Very fast service with a very wide variety of cold and hot breakfast. Very friendly staff and ample space indoor to eat and some tables outside to enjoy the view. Only a few meters from the Basilica of Saint Francis.

Extremely rude waitress. Chose “aggressive” words to inform us that each person in the party had to order a meal & that “separate” checks not accepted. On the other hand we met a waiter who was extremely pleasant and provided us with additional items we requested. He needs to be promoted.

#1 rule for tourists is not to eat/drink at any place with a view (especially of a tourist attraction) or in a main piazza without expecting to pay top dollar for bottom-notch food. Not the case here, and what a pleasant surprise! We stopped in because we had a half hour to kill before our dinner reservations and had a hankering for a spritz. The service was friendly, the sunset view romantic, and the bill only ten euros for two strong spritz and loads of chips and peanuts. Amazing!!

Went in for a sandwich and ended up having an experience. Tried all the meats and cheeses they offer before we decided what to eat. The wild boar and truffle meat is absolutely delicious. Quick wine taster followed by eating our sandwich next to a gorgeous view.

5 to 7 Euros including the tasting depending on if you get a small or large sandwich with any salami or ham you liked during the tasting + optional pecorino + a bottle of water with it too. Price does not depend on what ham you pick. Incredible price for what you get, very good hams and salami which if you like you can buy in a larger quantity in the shop section. A truly unique experience which I shall not forget. The service was very polite!

Super chill, friendly place! You’re offered some red wine to accompany you while you are trying the different cuts one by one, and then you choose one for your sandwich at the end! Stumbled on this cafe on our back St.Francesco Basilica and it is surprisingly good! If you are looking for something light and quick for lunch, this is a good place for it :)

A cozy place to get quality food at reasonable prices. It is conveniently located west of the Piazza Commune and a great place to stop for light eats.The owner, Davide, is very attentive and friendly. He made us feel right at home. Definitely recommend.

This place was one of the nicest surprises that we had in visiting Assisi. The hosts, Simona and Davide, are extraordinarily nice people. They made us feel amongst friends. Their place is run by them two, abd it offers a delicious selection of traditional "torte al testo", soups, and, moreover, a refined list of wines. It is THE perfect place for an informal dinner, group meetings, light bites...it is just the best place for food and drinks we have visited in Assisi. More than reccomended.

We went for lunch with a group of friends and the lady was rude, talking in italian to her colleagues saying how she could not stand me anymore becouse I went to ask her a few times things like pepper and salt. I felt so mistreated that It made me cry. I do not recommend this place at all especially if you are a group. In terms of food, it was very bland, plastic cups to drink and tea spin to eat your food.

Terrible service. The staff are angry. We were a large group of ten. Paper plates and plastic cups for small portions. I did not expect this in a sacred place such as Assisi.

The staff were amazing! We had to leave early in the morning to catch our train. The staff arranged a taxi and sent us with breakfast boxes. There are beautiful views of the city above and valley below around every corner.

Happy with our choice to stay here, mostly because of the friendly service from the cocktail bar and breakfast staff. Unbeatable view looking up. A moderate 20 minute walk uphill into town. I found the bed comfortable and loved the pillows. Unfortunately the little pool was closed first week of June even though it was 85 degrees (I was told they were getting it ready to open it). We booked especially for a pool so it was a bit disappointing, but we should have asked about it, so that was on us. Also the restaurant on site was delicious, polite service but definitely on the leisurely side. I would recommend a stay here!

Amazing hotel! Very quiet, comfortable, cozy, immersed in its own fields. The gardener gave us a wonderful tour of their crops! Wonderful breakfast and they adapted to our vegan life-style. We tried both restaurants, the Lab and the Locanda: they were both excellent! We loved staying here and we strongly recommend it!

We stayed here for a couple of nights as part of our honeymoon road trip in October-November 2020 and this was the only stop that really disappointed us. Our expectations were high - looking at their website it was hard not to get excited (that view, the rooms, the food, the cocktail bar) but when we arrived, everything kind of fell short. The rooms were nicely decorated, but not cleaned to the highest standard (we found hair in the shower, used coffee cups and cigarette butts in our private garden and everything in the room was a little dusty). The breakfast spread was vast, but nothing to write home about. The service was slow, at times ridiculously so. Weirdest of all, the staff were eerily cold... think the housekeeper in the movie Get Out!... prompting us to speculate if there was something bigger going on. We had booked a package that included a sunset picnic in the garden, but when we asked about it, nobody knew anything... and we were eventually told that it wasn't available at this time of year (even though I had only booked it a couple of weeks prior as part of an 'Autumnal' package... and the weather was unseasonably warm anyway). It was, overall, a strange experience that made we wonder how they got all these 5-star reviews, so I thought I should share our less-than-great experience.

An incredible place. No words to describe how perfect it is in all aspects. The location is fantastic as it’s jyst below Assisi (walking distance) yet so secluded. The room is spacious and beautiful. Exterior area unbelievable with local gardens ,a small but great pool and views. Not a blind spot overlooked in the design. The staff is just fantastic and helpful in any way. Food is exceptionally good. In short - a real paradise, highly recommended.

A must go for lunch! Very easy to understand the workers, and they are beyond accommodating. The wine is good and the food is even better, or if you want a beer, probably one of the few places with it. We split a panini we had made with boar salami, prosciutto and pecorino and white truffle. So good!

One of the highlights of a month in central Italy. Beautiful wine, good explanations from enthusiastic, friendly people and right next to the basilica.

The wine, olive oil, and balsamic tasting was genuinely an Italian experience. This family owned business is as authentic and local as you can imagine. They greet you with a rich and warm welcoming vibe that turns into a comfortable and familiar experience which will make you want to stay for hours. The ambiance is casual with delicious wine and knowledgeable staff. The owner makes you feel like you’ve known him forever and his daughters will keep you feeling like you’ve connected with a long lost friend. Do yourself favor, and go in and let your guard down. You won’t want to stop yourself from connecting with these amazing people. Oh and enjoy the most delicious, quality wine. I’ll come back to Italy just to stop here again!

The Alimenti family are a gem! They treat us like family and their hospitality is the most generous we’ve been honored with. We love their high level wine collection and appreciate greatly their extensive knowledge of their products and the relationships they have with their partners in the industry. Almost forgot to post our amazing experience while visiting this space. The wine, food, and people were both exceptional and very memorable. After being back in the USA for a bit more than a year now, we opened one of their wines and fell in love with the space and people all over again. A must stop to experience the best of the Umbria region's wine and people. We will be returning.

The staff, a lady, was very rude, she kicked us out even though the shop was open. The door was unlocked, the lights were on and the sign said open. I definitely do not recommend it.

Incredible hospitality, and a focused Italian wine selection that is seriously out of this world.
