It is a good place to visit especially on festive days. It has a huge museum and statues and artifacts showcasing Pakistan's rich culture and history. The museum sadly has no AC, so it's very hot. The place has bookshops and other merchants and artists as well. Overall a nice place. I feel that adding Pakistani scientists statues is important.

The only downside is that the indoor area can get quite hot, especially during summer, as there’s limited air conditioning or ventilation. Still, it’s absolutely worth a visit — just try to go in the morning or cooler months for the best experience.

I visited Lok Virsa Museum recently and while the cultural display and overall atmosphere were enjoyable, there are a few areas that definitely need improvement.
Firstly, the place was extremely crowded, which made it difficult to fully appreciate the exhibits and stalls. Better crowd management or designated walkways could really enhance the visitor experience.
Secondly, parking needs serious attention. There didn’t seem to be a proper system in place, and visitors had to struggle to find a spot. A well-planned parking area would make the visit much more convenient.
Lastly, the area where the stalls were set up was quite dusty. The ground wasn’t properly solid or paved, which caused dust clouds whenever people walked by. If the management could solidify or properly prepare the surface, it would make the environment much cleaner and more comfortable.
Overall, Lok Virsa is a great place to explore culture and craftsmanship, but with a few improvements in infrastructure and management, it could offer a far better experience for everyone.

I particularly enjoyed the sections dedicated to the regional craftsmanship, where you can see intricate embroidery from Sindh, stunning woodwork from Punjab, and colorful pottery from Balochistan. A visit here takes about 2-3 hours, but you could easily spend more time exploring every detail. It's a truly enriching and memorable experience for families, students, and anyone with an interest in culture and history
The administration needs to install some screens in every gallery to give the people a digital visual roundup of the related history.

But couple of things i have noticed are enlisted below;
1. Very few Toilets and are in very very poor condition (No Water too).
2. No proper Mosque/Masjid for Prayers (BTW Pakistan is a Leading Islamic Country).
3. More space should be given to each & every Pavilion.
4. Should be More Better Arrangements for Food.
5. Seperate Arrangements for Families.

It is a favourite place for both locals and tourists to visit , with its nice architecture and green surrounding areas .

It was a great experience to visit Pakistan Monument. I visited in early hours so it was empty on that time. It was nice and clean and fun to visit. I also visited the museum. It was well made and very informative related our history of independence
I had never heard let alone seen this monument before and I was so pleasantly surprised. Parking is a short walking distance away. The views, the architecture and the atmosphere were so good. There are public toilets neat the souvenir shop.

Daman-e-Koh, located in the Margalla Hills, is a picturesque elevated park area offering stunning panoramic views of Islamabad, including the city, lake, and Faisal Mosque. It serves as a midpoint for travelers en route to Pir Sohawa at an elevation of about 2400ft from sea level. This popular lookout point is frequented by both locals and tourists seeking Instagram-worthy pictures and a refreshing experience amidst lush greenery.
Really a beautiful and stunning place in Islamabad. You will get a stunning view of the whole city and it is very exciting to watch from there. Mostly it is smoggy from over this point but it is worth it visiting there. You can see a few international tourists there and you can get a chance to meet and greet them and have some pictures.
There is a small restaurant also available here and a snack shop. Please visit this place at 5 to 8 PM as it is hot and very sunny in afternoon. If you want better pictures with great colors then visit in the morning.

One of many fine parks in Islamabad that is adjacent to the Margala Hills, and has lovely views to the city.
Entering the place is free. The place is served with ample parking and restrooms. There is also a restaurant on-site.
The place can get crowded at times, and has many walking paths. Very close to the place are some of the hiking trails of the city.
Daman-e-Koh is a beautiful viewpoint in Islamabad with breathtaking views of the entire city. A peaceful spot for families and tourists to relax and enjoy nature. Definitely worth visiting

Visited Daman-e-Koh last week Thursday was very pleasant trip with my sons and nephew. what a view! 😍 The whole city of Islamabad looks so beautiful from up there. Loved the cool breeze, peaceful vibes, and the drive through the Margalla Hills. Perfect spot for a quick escape into nature!

Centaurus Mall is housed in a very beautiful and iconic building — definitely one of the standout structures in Islamabad. However, despite its grand exterior, the mall itself feels quite small and congested inside.
During my visit, the air conditioning was not working properly, which made the experience uncomfortable. Even in the parking area, the heat was noticeable. Interestingly, the only place where the cooling was actually effective was inside the mosque — which, by the way, is beautifully designed and very peaceful.
One major downside was the behavior of the security staff, especially the female staff at the entrance and exit points. Their attitude was quite rude and unprofessional, which leaves a bad impression right at the start.
Overall, while the building and mosque are impressive, the management seriously needs to improve crowd handling, air conditioning, and staff training to provide a better experience.
I recently visited Centaurus Mall in Islamabad and had a mixed experience. The mall offers plenty of parking space, which makes it convenient for visitors arriving by car. Inside, you can find almost all major brands under one roof, along with a good variety of food outlets. However, one major drawback is the lack of stairs for public access, which means you have to wait around 15–20 minutes for the lifts, especially during busy hours, this can be quite frustrating. Another thing I noticed is that most of the products in the stores are overpriced, except for the food places which are reasonably priced. Overall, Centaurus Mall is a great spot for shopping and dining, but it would be much better if they improved accessibility between floors and offered more fair pricing across stores.

The best mall in Islamabad. Wide variety of food options with great deals and diversity of clothes shops and other accessories. You can visit in the day or at night with family or friends. The whole mall is air conditioned and lots of parking space. I got deal for 4 from howdies and later loaded fries.
Huge mall with beautiful architecture.. Loved the shops in there.. Food court has all the options from economical to premium and luxurious atmosphere.. Loved the variett of outlets available that I haven't seen in other cities of Pakistan, for instance chinese restaurants like Kim mun and giyanki.. 🥰🥰
However, found their staff a bit uninformed. We were checking Tim Hortons but weren't sure if there's one inside the mall. One of staff guided us that it's on first floor. We wemt there but there was none. We crosschecked and another staff said there is no outlet with this name inside the mall 😒

Entry is free, and parking is free. You can go there, roam around the park, enjoy the trees, and there’s also a bird-watching area. However, you have to pay for that. There are many small stalls selling various items. No boats are allowed on the lake. I noticed some really awful behavior from a grown man who took pictures and videos of two girls, which I initially thought were with him, but they actually weren’t. He secretly took the video and then walked away as if nothing had happened. I was behind him, so I saw it. Also, the security there is non-existent, so be careful.
I recently visited the lakeside, and it turned out to be a truly refreshing experience in every way. If you're someone who loves nature, photography, and a taste of fresh local food, this spot should definitely be on your list.

A refreshing spot with lots of greenery and trees planted by the hands of famous personalities. We had dinner at Tahir Khan Restaurant (TKR), and the food was delicious with a nice place to sit and relax.

Rose & Jasmine Garden is a worthwhile spot in Islamabad for nature lovers, families, or anyone wanting a short respite from the city. It has great potential: beautiful flowers, good location, decent amenities. If well maintained, it can be truly excellent.
Right now it seems to be a mixed bag: parts are lovely, others need work. If you go, going during weekdays or off-peak hours gives a better experience (less crowd; facilities more likely to be better). Margalla Hills is a hill range in Islamabad, Pakistan, known for its natural beauty and wildlife.
Margilla hills national park is one of the more well maintained national parks of Pakistan. It is also probably the most easily accessible one, too. Flaura and fauna of the park are so breathtaking. Wildfires do occur though, almost every year.
The park is as safe as it gets, for a national park, since it is close to the city, data signals do appear from time to time, it is easy to call for help, animal encounters are also common but not dangerous.
The park offers about 7 different trails. All of which are worth trekking through. Trail 5 is the most well maintained with proper markings throughout the trail. I also recommend trail 3 and new one, trail 7. Before travelling, you may need to confirm if they are open or not, as a local I know that trail 6 has been close for quite some time now to protect wildlife whereas trail 5 was also closed for a week in August 2025.
There are different rock climbing spots across the parks, most famous of which is Beetle's nest located behind Saidpur Village.
Then, there's different camping spots in the parks, most common of which is trail 5 camping spot.
Furthermore, there are some historical spots in the Margilla hills as well, such as Shah Allah Dita caves.
Overall, The whole park cannot really be visited in just a day. My recommendation is to stay at least a week in nearby Islamabad and explore it. To be fair, I have been living in Islamabad for 10+ years and I have not really been able to explore all of it so It is justifiable. There are many other spots that I have visited in the park, which are not really mapped on Google Maps, such as the plane crash site in margilla hills

The caves themselves are approximately 2400 years old and showcase artifacts from Buddhist, Mughal, and Hindu periods.
A best place for an outing. The restaurants are nice. The horse stable and swimming pools are also good. Wild monkeys can be seen on trees, but one has to be careful as they come too close and seem to be aggressive. The caves have their own charm and nearby restaurants up the hill showcase the panoramic view of the city. Will love to visit this place again.

Road is proper and you can go there on any transport, there is no local transport though. They are simply caves and have history so please don't expect much from this place other than history. Recommend for family trip.

A beautiful place with a historic and scenic views of mountains, caves, trees, wells etc. Teavelling through dera dari restaurant is scenic but road is not smooth, travelling through Shah Allah Ditta village main road is short and better. After main village, road is not fully carpeted but reasonably good to travel. 3km after caves, is a place, kanthla village, the road is under construction, but the views are beautiful and a good reataurant and a dera type place is there to stay for a few hours and take rest.

Walk track bicycle track are also available in park and many other healthy activities can be played in this park. Many monument built here to attract the people. This park is situated in the center of Islamabad, so it can facilitate a lot of people and it is kept facilitating. It covers a lot of area and today, i didn't get the time and chance to explore it fully, but I will try to explore it completely as soon as i get the time.

Nature all around (as much as a big city can have).. peaceful environment and wide area for a walk, stroll, jogging or even playing.. i love the calm of this place that doesn’t matter how much crowd is there, there’s still a silent side… spent a number of birthdays, eids and regular evenings there and made a whole lot of memories there… i hope they never convert it into a commercial area or whatever the rumours are saying.. it’s perfect the way it is…

There's also a museum inside the premises and a tuck/gift shop too. You have to walk a lot so I recommend wearing comfortable shoes. It was quite crowded as well however my overall experience was good.

Wonderful building, stunning architecture. This is one of the most beautiful mosques you're likely to visit. This mosque diversifies itself from the traditional curvature structures to more straight lines and angles which Muslim architecture has seen in the past, the Alhambra Palace in Spain, as an example. Before anyone corrects me, the architect was White European, nevertheless, his finished design doesn't detract from its beauty as a mosque in this 21st century. We'll worth a visit. Surrounded by mountains as a backdrop, it's cinemaesque in its setting.
The Mosque itself is truly an architectural gem and one of Islamabad’s most iconic landmarks. The grand structure, set against the backdrop of the Margalla Hills, leaves you in awe from the moment you arrive. There’s no entrance fee, so anyone can visit and admire its stunning design and peaceful atmosphere.
You will find plenty of taxis waiting in the parking lot, though it’s often more convenient (and sometimes cheaper) to book your own ride through apps like Yango. Visitors should note that shorts are not allowed if you plan to enter the main prayer area — access is usually limited to prayer times only.
While the mosque’s beauty remains timeless, some of the walkways are in a dilapidated state and could use maintenance, so watch your step during your visit. Despite that, the overall experience is serene and spiritually refreshing — definitely worth a visit for anyone exploring Islamabad.

The architecture is modern yet spiritual, with its large white structure and pointed minarets standing out against the sky. The interior is spacious and calm, perfect for prayer and reflection. Even if you’re not coming to pray, it’s worth visiting just to admire the structure and feel the serene environment.
A very useful tip — bring a shopper (plastic bag) with you to keep your chappals or shoes, because footwear is not allowed inside the mosque. There are shoe stands outside, but it’s much safer and more convenient to carry your own in a small bag, especially when the place is crowded. This way, you won’t have to worry about finding your shoes later.
The mosque area is clean, well-maintained, and open to visitors of all kinds — families, tourists, and worshippers. There are also lawns and viewpoints nearby where you can sit and enjoy the view or take photos. The atmosphere is peaceful, and you can really feel a sense of calm once you step inside.

The Monal Islamabad is one of those places you visit not only for the food, but for the complete experience. The panoramic view of Islamabad from the top of Margalla Hills is unmatched — especially around sunset or night when the city lights come on.
The food is consistently good, portions are decent, and there’s a good variety in the menu for almost every taste (Pakistani, BBQ, Continental etc.). Service is generally fast considering how busy the place usually is, and the staff is polite and attentive.
Parking and getting up the hill can get crowded, especially on weekends, so it’s better to go a bit early. Reservations are also recommended on peak days.
Overall — great ambiance, good food, excellent views — worth visiting with family or friends.

Had a wonderful experience of visiting the museum. Very informative. Learned so much about the minerals, flora and fauna of Pakistan and evolutionary processes. Great for school going children who are studying these topics currently.
The museum has some amazing specimens but the maintenance is really disappointing. The whale skeleton is covered in so much dust that it looks dull instead of impressive, and the lighting is far below museum standards. The basement was closed during my visit, which made the experience feel incomplete.
On the positive side, the fiberglass models are beautifully done, and the bee life section is one of the highlights very engaging and well presented. The rock formation gallery is also excellent and worth seeing. Unfortunately, the whale shark preservation is way below standard and takes away from what could have been a spectacular display.
Overall, the museum has great potential, but without proper care and attention, it doesn’t do justice to the treasures it holds.

The most prominent arts center in Islamabad, with two large art galleries, one big auditorium with a 400 plus seating capacity, an open air amphitheater, and a vast multi purpose outdoor lawn. This place is also the hub of arts learning activity in Islamabad.
The art galleries located on the ground floor have vast space and the space is well maintained. Arts and crafts workshops are also held in the space when no arts exhibitions are being held. The auditorium has a functioning multimedia screen at the back of the stage which provides great viewing options to the entire crowd. The auditorium is widely used for film screenings as well as staging dramas and shows, along with hosting other events and ceremonies requiring this setting. The outdoor amphitheater is run down and seems to not have been in use for a while. The outdoor grounds are used for hosting concerts as well as exhibitions and festivals.
There is a small cafeteria and a gift shop located on the ground floor right before the art galleries.
This place is run by the government and their offices are housed on the first floor, from where they manage all the bookings and permissions for hosting events to running arts exhibitions.
The place is not easily accessible as it is located on a non-frequented road and somewhat restricted entrance from the main road.

They frequently hold concerts on weekdays, which causes a great deal of disturbance. Not everyone appreciates loud music after returning from work or university. Such events should be organized on weekends instead. I live in Gulshan-e-Jinnah, directly opposite the venue, and the noise makes it difficult for residents to rest. There are also patients in the area who are affected. The organizers should be more considerate and keep the volume at a reasonable level out of respect for the community.

This is a nice place; the entrance is free, and it’s always clean. The CDA is very active here, and a lot of people visit. There are also plenty of shops where you can get cool drinks along with samosas, fries, etc., and you can enjoy them while relaxing by the lake.
This place used to be great when there were facilities and management here such as boat rides and maintenance of this place but now it is clearly abandoned and should be labeled as abandoned because there is nothing left here. the restaurants have been closed the seats are just lying around there catching rust nothing is managed or looked after and it was a complete waste of time there. I would never visit here again. the only case is if you’re bored and have nothing better to do in life then yes you can come here. And the combination of baggers and global warming have ruined the beauty of this place. And not to mention the amount of hundreds of dead dogs in the lake 🤢 Ruined my day as it was the last place I was visiting during my stay in Islamabad. If you’re planning to come here come around 6 PM and there is a fun horror house there you can visit that or just enjoy the beauty of nature and abandonment. Lakeview Park used to be a beautiful place, but it’s honestly disappointing to see how much it has declined. The lake has a strong smell now, the grass is mostly dry, and the overall maintenance feels ignored. Even the food options have dropped in quality, which makes the visit less enjoyable. It’s sad because this park used to be a great spot for families and friends, but right now it really needs serious attention and proper upkeep.

Other than these, the worth watching items are the official car used by the then Commander-in-Chiefs like Filed Marshal Ayub Khan, Gen. Musa Khan and Gen. Yahya Khan. And the preserve ceremonial uniforms of famous army personnel and chiefs of the past as well. Cleanliness, ambience and management are of top quality in typical army administrative fashion. It is an amazing place especially for army lovers and in general for every person. There is a wonderful display of historical items even from the Mughal era and world war. There are galleries in each hall specifying a certain time period/war. There is a gallery on nishan-e-haider, naval forces, underwater forces, aviation forces, air defence systems, intelligence forces and whatnot.
It is a great place to see history from your own eyes.
I totally recommend this place to every person. It really takes you to war times.

Very good and cosy mall, not too many people and you have mostly everything you need. I frequently visit Adidas , Nike or Cambridge for clothes since they are all imported and last a long time but there is no shortage of local brands as well.

Parking is a nightmare so bring a driver or park far away, if your lucky you can get parking in the malls areas if not then you have to do some cardio.

The zoo is in a state of disrepair. The pictures posted have cages taken apart, and very little count of animals. Overall not a good trip. However, the aviary next to the zoo is in far better condition and well kept. Beautiful birds and parrots, and a nice clean place. Awesome for the children. Don't forget to keep extra clothes as the birds may poop anywhere. Be sure to wash hands and face once leaving the place!
It's a little place, cages feel very little for such big animals, and the loins cages were single fenced and top open, that felt dangerous.
Personally I don't like zoos anyway, innocent creatures being locked up in tiny spaces for our amusement is a sick concept anyways.
I took my kids there, the environment is very well maintained and up to the mark. Howere the variety and number of animals / birds are very few which doesn’t justify the ticket price. For example you will see normally 1-2 species in a cage except the deers which are more than 2.

I recently visited Bahria Enclave Zoo and was deeply disturbed by the condition of the animals. However, the overall state of the facility is good but the temperature was extremely high during my visit, yet I noticed that many of the enclosures had no visible water available for the animals. This is not only unacceptable but also inhumane, especially given how hot it was.
Management of the zoo should prioritize the health and well-being of the creatures it houses, and unfortunately, that was clearly not the case here.
I hope this review brings attention to the urgent need for better care, proper hydration, and improved living conditions for these animals.

I recently visited this park and would rate it 3 stars. The greenery and open space create a relaxing atmosphere. The park is clean and generally well maintained. There are plenty of benches and shady spots. It feels safe and welcoming for all ages.

The Taxila Museum, established in 1924, is a significant archaeological museum showcasing artifacts from the Buddhist civilization, including sculptures, coins, and other items from the Kushan era. With over 4,000 exhibits made of various materials such as stone, clay, silver, gold, and semi-precious stones, the museum offers a glimpse into the rich history of Gandharan art.
Taxila Museum is one if the main site to visit for those who want to see Buddha civilization. This Museum present the historical verywell. Few things to keep in mind before planning to this place:
1.Its closed on the first Monday of each month, so plan accordingly.
2.You have to buy the tickets so keep the currency in hand which is 20 Rupees for adults, 10 for Children and 500 for non Pakistani.
3.Timing is different for summer and winters. As i visited in Summer of i know that particularly which is: 8:30AM to 5PM but they will close the Museum at 12:30PM till 2PM for lunch break, so its best to visit the from 9AM to 11AM.
4.There is no cafe so bring the food by your own and you can eat it in the lawn of museum as there is a lot of area around for families to spend time.

Visiting Taxila Museum, I feel the lesson “The Ruins of Taxila” studied in Metric English book back in 1998. It’s wonderful to see the Buddha sculptures, other utensils and daily usage ancient technology that how people spent their lives. It’s wonderful experience and worth to visit.
I visited the Taxila Museum and was truly impressed by this mind-blowing place. It stands as a remarkable effort by Sir John Marshall, and as a Pakistani, I am deeply thankful to him for his great work in preserving our heritage.
Every artifact, even the smallest pearl discovered from the ancient civilization of Taxila, has been carefully and securely displayed. The museum itself is like a priceless ancient gem. It is a large building with five spacious halls, each filled with history.
Visiting this museum is a historical and awe-inspiring experience — truly a place worth seeing.

One can easily find yango from Islamabad, it's max an hour long ride during the day. We left around 8:30 am in the morning and were able to easily defeat all the traffic and reach by 9:10 am in front of Taxila Museum. It is officially open by 9 am.

Enjoyed my visit to the Taxila Museum. The ancient sculptures and artifacts were incredible to see up close. Everything was well organized, and the atmosphere was peaceful and rich with history. Definitely worth a visit if you're into the culture and archaeology.

I toured the Islamabad Sports Complex today and as soon as I walked in I felt like I had arrived at an official place. It used to be the largest and most beautiful sports complex in Islamabad at one time. Every facility is available here, but what is the benefit that there is no one to take care of it. There is no special cleaning arrangement here and you can see it in the pictures I have uploaded. There is dirt everywhere. The internal situation of the offices was such that it was difficult to even sit there. There was no security whatsoever. Vehicles were coming in without checking. It's all because it's an official site which is u der control of government officials? Who is responsible for taking care of it? The management here must be appointed here looking after everything, but they are taking salaries and no one is working. I would like to give an example of Islamabad Club, which is right next to the same Islamabad Sports Complex and there is a huge difference in the cleanliness, beauty and management of these two places. Why can't we take care of these lovely places of our beloved Pakistan and why can't we take such measures so that these places also earn money and support themselves.

Visited at an event of kamyab Jawan. It was full jam packed. Cleanliness is a major issue especially after rain unable to sit . Manage at your own. But still overall it was a fine experience. Almost 40 to 50 thousand crowd was present. Washroom are not clean and quantity is also low. Canteen is very limited as it cannot handle the burden of such crowd. So prepare accordingly bring your water bottle and lunch box to avoid inconvenience.

I recently visited this bird aviary and left feeling deeply saddened by what I saw. The birds are kept confined in cages 24/7, with no toys, enrichment, or space to fly freely. Many of them looked visibly distressed, pacing, plucking at their feathers, or repeatedly trying to escape their cages.
It’s clear that the caretakers believe providing food and water is enough, but anyone who truly understands birds knows they require far more, playtime, social interaction, mental stimulation, and the ability to stretch their wings. These are intelligent, social creatures that need stimulation, affection, and freedom, not just food and water.
If someone is going to run a bird aviary, it should come from a place of love and understanding for these magnificent creatures. They deserve compassion and proper care, not a life spent in isolation behind bars. Watching such beautiful birds in these conditions was heartbreaking, and I sincerely hope the management reconsiders their approach and makes improvements for the welfare of the birds.

We attended the book fair here. It's a really good place plenty of place for parking. Escalators for elderly. Good washrooms and cafeteria. Air conditioning works but only in one hall.
This is a government owned and managed multi-purpose convention center located at an easily accessible location. This center hosts a lot of large scale events and exhibitions in the city.
The building has two floors, each having one large hall, while the ground floor also has a large auditorium. The outlook and chairs of the auditorium are in great shape, however all other facilities including sound, lighting, multimedia display screens have stopped functioning. The bathroom facilities are also pretty much depleted with one being closed down due to non-repair. There are several small meeting and convention rooms on the first floor.
There is plenty of parking space both inside the compound, which is helpful for mega events.
The booking process is managed by the government department having its offices on the third floor. The booking rates are very reasonable given the huge size of this space, however you have to go through various bureaucratic processes to secure the venue. The place books out fast, therefore it is recommended to secure bookings at least two months in advance of any event being planned at this location.
The staff at the center are very nice, helpful, & cooperative. They answer your questions patiently and provide the best guidance.

As for the place, its parking area is quite large, and right in front of the shrine there’s a market where you can shop as well as eat. And when it comes to food, you can also get the shrine’s famous food from the canteen inside whenever you visit.

Well maintained by the CDA and Margalla Division. Trail 3 is the most popular among all the hiking trails in the Margallas. It is primarily due to its easier access, but also because of the views of the twin cities that it offers as a reward as you climb towards the top.
It is important to know that the shade is not as abundant as it is on Trail 5 or Trail 4. It is suggested that the hike be started as early in the day as possible, specially duting summers.

Went to Shahdara 27 years back and was quite disappointed. Polluted smelly water, dirty surrounding, over crowded surrounding. Water that once was very clean and flowing was divided into muddy stale ponds with stones and khokha people put chairs and charpoys to attract customers! I attended the Local Conference of Youth (LCOY) Pakistan. It is quite a big hall suitable for both national and international conferences. But the hall is not completely furnished. It needs some major repair at different spots.

Driving to the top of the hills is a 30 minute drive on a very narrow and steep road. Thus, care is required.
At the top of the hill are a few touristic spots and monkeys. Driving further inside leads to a few restaurants.

Trail 3 is a beloved hiking route nestled in the Margalla Hills, starting from the right side of Margalla Road, just across from Sector F 6/3. This well-marked trail can easily be located on Google Maps by searching for 'Trail 3 Parking.' As you embark on this adventure, you'll be greeted by an informative map that sets the stage for your journey. The trek to Monal spans approximately 6.

Trail 6, the newest hiking path in Islamabad, was unveiled to the public for trekking purposes in 2013. As the most recent addition to the hiking scene, it boasts a lower number of visitors compared to other trails, resulting in a clean and serene environment. A notable feature of this trail is its inclusion of various water streams along the way. The journey begins at the iconic Faisal Mosque, an unmistakable landmark easily identifiable by its prominent position.
Having visited Trail 6 over a hundred times, I can confidently say it’s the best hiking trail in Islamabad. Whether you’re an experienced hiker or just looking for a peaceful nature walk, this trail offers an exceptional experience.
The hike takes you through a dense forest path that winds up the hills, offering serenity and a close connection with nature. The scenery is stunning, with the greenery and the chirping of birds creating a perfect escape from the city’s hustle. Once you reach the top, the panoramic view of Islamabad is simply breathtaking. It’s one of those sights you have to see to believe – especially during early mornings or evenings when the lights of the city begin to twinkle in the distance.
If you’re planning to visit, I recommend parking your vehicle at Faisal Mosque and starting your hike from there. The path is well-maintained, and the air feels fresh and clean, making it a refreshing experience at any time of the year. However, the early morning or evening hours are ideal, as the daytime heat can make the hike more challenging, and you’ll miss out on the magical sight of the city lights at night.
Whether you’re a local or a visitor, Trail 6 is a must-do activity in Islamabad. The trail offers not only a great workout but also a chance to unwind in nature. Good environment and best for family and safe..
I will recommend😍...
It's one of the most beautiful and calm trails. Very less people come here. Most of the track is covered in lush green trees. The track is easy in the start and gradually becomes steeper. It's one of the longest trails and ends on a very beautiful view point.
The trail is nice but the views are almost non existent. It’s a steep climb through dense shrubbery. It was safe when I went. Easy to climb up but difficult to climb down as it’s very rocky and the footing is limited. Monkeys are on route so you have been warned. Take a few water bottles with you on route. Routes are narrow. Get back down before dust as the gate closes rather early. If your hoping for a view of faisal mosque then you will be sadly disappointed!

It is a beautiful hiking track that starts from behind the Faisal Mosque and exits at "Jabbi di Galli". The track has less attention of hikers so less crowd is expected. Natural Views and wilderness are abundant here. Fresh water springs and lush green surroundings make the track more beautiful. Its the wilderness at the center of civilization.
