Le Jardin des Plumes is a stylish hotel located in a 1912 manor house, offering free Wi-Fi, sprawling gardens, and a fine-dining restaurant. The property has been completely taken over by David Gallienne since early 2020. The interior architecture of the neo-Norman villa perfectly complements the elegant yet unpretentious cuisine offered by the chef.
Le Jardin des Plumes is a true gem in Giverny. The setting feels like a dream — a charming Norman house surrounded by gardens — while the cuisine is pure artistry: seasonal, delicate, and full of flavor. The service is warm and refined, making every detail unforgettable. A must-visit for anyone seeking beauty, taste, and soul in one experience.

September 2025, My wife and I experienced our first Michelin Star Restaurant. We only stumbled across this amazing restaurant whilst walking the streets of Giverny after seeing Monet’s Garden earlier that day. We were lucky as we didn’t book and just walked in. This restaurant has set such a high standard to our holiday I feel know one will beat. The sommelier really knew her drinks and I had the best Syrah I’ve had in years. Their food (the chef easily accommodated my wife’s allergy) and service was just amazing and we will definitely return when we are in the area next. However I will book to ensure a seat as I’m sure they are usually fully booked!

Le Jardin des Plumes is an ambitious tasting menu restaurant in a calm location half a mile from the Monet house in Giverny. Service by a young staff was lovely, and the food was very good. At the beginning of the meal we said that we'd need a taxi to get to the train station, but when we finished there had been a mistake and no taxi was available. Here is the memorable thing: a young woman on staff said "I have a car, I'll take you," and she did. This was truly extraordinary, and we will never forget her kindness (though in the crisis of the moment I forgot to get her name, which I regret.)
Susan C — Google review
The rooms, food and staff were all really excellent. In the evening we had the tasting menu at the restaurant on-site, which was delicious and beautifully presented. And we opted for breakfast which was delivered to the room. We weren’t sure what to expect with the breakfast, but it was fabulous and we ate it on the little patio set.

Loved everything about this place. The room was amazing and thank you for upgrading us. The food in the restaurant was absolutely amazing. Sharp and well flavored. The whole staff was so attending. Best recommendations from the Danes🇩🇰

Dining at Le Jardin des Plumes was an absolute highlight of our trip. Every course was beautifully presented and full of flavor. The tasting menu flowed perfectly, with each dish thoughtfully balanced and paired with incredible local ingredients. It’s the kind of place where every detail, from the bread to the final bite of dessert, is done with care. A truly memorable experience! We’d return to Giverny just to eat here again!
Hannah A — Google review
Stupendous! A wonderful experience, it was one of the 2 best meals of my life. Artfully and beautifully presented, each course was exciting and delicious. Wonderful flavors, textures and surprising combinations made it a meal to savor.
Martha R — Google review
We stayed at the O Plume Art, which is a bit outside the village limits, but easy 15 minute walk into the village and Monet's Gardens. It is quiet and sweet. The house has 5 rooms and we had a small sweet overlooking the back garden. The room was clean and easily accessible. Breakfast is served daily and is fresh and perfect. Loved our stay here and in Giverny.

The Nymphéas, located in Giverny, is a popular restaurant offering a unique culinary experience in a setting inspired by the world of Claude Monet. It is situated right across from the House and Gardens of Claude Monet, providing an idyllic view of the water garden.
Following the tour of the Monet gardens it was time for lunch. I enjoyed the vegetable quiche with salad. Their drink of the day was orange juice lemonade, with or without alcohol. If you wanted alcohol, they gave you a choice. Very refreshing and lunch was great! We loved our waitress, Eugenie.
Tracey N — Google review
This restaurant is located at the entrance of the Monet's garden so it's a place full of tourists. Most of the people there, including us, had less than an hour to grab a quick bite, so the quality of the visit can be spotty and hurried. We had a good experience there on our visit. The ham omelet was good, the accompanied green was fresh. The Monet's salad was full of seafood on top of a fresh heap of green. The basket of fries was hot and tasty. This was not haut cuisine, but for everyday food, this place did a decent job. They forgot to give us butter for our bread, but we enjoyed it anyway. It is a tad pricey for what it offers. But this is where tourists are more willing to pay a bit more, as they have limited options.
Credible C — Google review
We stopped here for lunch during our visit to Giverny and were pleasantly surprised by this charming French café-restaurant serving simple yet delicious fare. We ordered the chicken with tartar sauce, chicken nuggets with fries, and a Lorraine quiche accompanied by a side of fresh greens. Every dish was freshly prepared, served promptly, and arrived warm and flavorful. The restaurant offers a variety of seating options—indoor, outdoor, and shaded patio—with plenty of tables available. It’s a convenient and inviting stop, perfectly located for a meal before or after visiting the Monet mansion.
Sandeepa D — Google review
Filet mignon is made with cheap pork, extremely dry and barely warm when served. 28.5€ for that nonsense is not only a rip-off but a crime. The vegetable quiche is acceptable, but not good. You can find better quality at Walmart. The crème brûlée was good. Waitresses aren't friendly and may ignore you. Save your time, money, and energy. Do yourself a favour and avoid this place.
Alex E — Google review
Taste of coffee was bad. It was not worth to pay € 4 Also the staff asked me cash if i need to pay less than € 20 They did not tell me about information before I order
Juyoung — Google review
One of the best place to have lunch after visiting Monet's house; you are siting next to the garden feeling relax and well take care. Our waitress spoke English, she was very nice and pleasant to talk. Food came fast, big portions. It was absolutely great to stop by.

Food can be better but location is great (just outside monet house) and staff super nice 😊
Sara M — Google review
We have to say this meal is the most terrible meal for us. The lamb was very dry and seemed like they’d cooked it two days ago. The soup tasted like they forgot put salt in it. The worst part was hot chocolate. I never thought it was so difficult to make a normal hot chocolate!! I really regretted that I should’ve checked the comments before I went inside.

Restaurant Baudy, also known as Ancien Hôtel Baudy, is a historic establishment that was once a hub for artistic life in Giverny. This quaint hotel and restaurant served as a meeting place for French and American Impressionist painters during the Belle Epoque. The restaurant offers delicious French cuisine, with its signature dish being the 'omelette Baudy' filled with duck gizzard and potatoes.
Quintessentially French cafe restaurant with an incredible history catering for the impressionist painters surrounding Monet. Great plates and a good value set menu (which I had). Tasty rustic chicken liver pate and lovely roasted salmon fillet with truffle mash. Good desserts - mine a strawberry cup with basil infused syrup and ice cream, the wife having profiteroles. A popular restaurant in the village of Giverny just away from the house & gardens.
Bob H — Google review
Me and my friend picked this restaurant because it seemed like the best option near Claude Monet's house and garden to have a filling meal. We found the food to be subpar and not worth the price. Yes, we expected the restaurant to be overpriced because of its location, but we also expected the food to be better than what we got (flavor wise). Expect to pay around 30 eur for a drink and main dish.
N R — Google review
Stopped for lunch. Nice place to escape the crowds and re-charge. Good food, especially desserts.
Jay B — Google review
Food is average. Price is reasonable. It is said that Claude Monet and other artists used to eat here.

This little place is charming... We stopped to rest and have a coffee in the afternoon. We sat outside just opposite the restaurant. This area was lovely with turquoise chairs, green trees all around and red umbrellas. The shade was really helpful on a warm day. We didn't eat but the dishes going past looked and smelled delicious. And here's a secret... Go out back and see the garden. A treasure of a place. Rambling paths going up the hill. A little cabin that is set up as an antique art studio. As an artist, I was completely smitten. It's a magical place.
Eli H — Google review
Went to this restaurant after visiting Claude Monet’s house. They have many things on the menu to choose from. It’s a popular place but it’s walk in only at lunch time. There was no wait at 1 pm. The service was efficient. The my salad very tasty.

Pleasant (joyful) staff, excellent food, recommended after visiting Giverny gardens Located in Giverny, in an old historic hotel, Hotel Baudy, which is apparently is because several American painters, and other famous French painters hung out there. The structure and character of the old building is still there. Little was changed as the kitchen is in a separate wing and the washrooms are across a gravel courtyard out back in an outbuilding. Across the street is a quaint, gravel courtyard under trees surrounded by hedges with small café tables. We ate there. The staff was very present, attentive, helpful and friendly and funny photo bombing us, cracking jokes and offering to take our pictures. The Grilled King Prawns in Garlic Butter were just that - six very large King prawns in shell pan seared in a parsley, garlic butter with a little pepper blend with extra butter sauce for dipping. A large serving of tender crisp haricot verts was on the side with mashed potatoes full of more garlic butter (no vampires anywhere!) and two succulent roasted yellow tomatoes. A very pleasing, tasty meal! Omelette Baudy was a large three egg omelette filled with duck confit and sauteed baby potatoes. Accompanied by a salad lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers) dressed in a house-made balsamic vinaigrette. Omelette and salad both very good! A delightful meal and experience.

La Capucine in Giverny offers a unique self-service dining experience with high-quality, homemade traditional food at reasonable prices. The eatery is part of a wide selection of quality eateries in the area that prioritize working with local producers. It's an ideal spot for a quick bite before visiting Claude Monet's gardens and house, providing a tranquil setting despite being popular. Visitors can enjoy afternoon tea and delicious pastries while taking in the beautiful garden or browsing the souvenir shop.
Great plate of cheese and ham followed by a chocolate brownie. Country living in a great spot at a reasonable price. Very friendly service 👍

Sadly we arrived 3.35 p.m. so there was not even French fries to eat as a snack after all day walking around. The restroom were extremely dirty. To the point you could go. The ambiente is so adorable, but sadly nothing more. It could be an amazing experience, but was a total disaster

Stopped here in October in our way, of course, to the gardens. Really beautiful and relaxing place with great food. I just loved the relaxing vibe here.
Stephen — Google review
I came for afternoon tea. The tea tastes good. Apricot tarte tastes fine, but I beg to differ for the choux a la creme cause that's one of the best I've ever had. But the service is really slow, and the counter for patisserie doesn't have a cashier, so it's a hassle to make the payment. The garden is good to spend some time during in nice weather. They also have a souvenir shop. I bought the cider. There's one cider that is labeled as "medaille d'or" and the regular one with 3 euros difference on price. I asked the seller what's the difference between those two taste-wise, but she couldn't even explain. My friends agreed that the taste difference for both bottles is hardly noticeable and most likely the same tho there's 3 euros difference on price.
Alifah I — Google review
Perhaps I was lucky, but this worked really well for me. Food was fine, beer was excellent and people were nice. Surroundings were very enjoyable. I'm glad we stopped here for lunch

It was a quick bite to eat. Says table service but you ordered at the bar and then picked up your food. We ate in the bamboo forest and it was wonderful. The food was good.

i don’t understand why this place has such bad reviews. the food was very good and was plated nicely. we got club sandwiches, fish and chips, roasted eggplant, and deviled eggs. everything was very good. the staff was very friendly. also the shop connected to it has a really cute cat that was sleeping when we were there! very good overall in my opinion!

Au Coin du Pain'tre is a charming café located in Giverny, offering a delightful break for visitors to the village. The café features a lovely shaded terrace overlooking Rue Claude Monet, providing an ideal spot to take a break and enjoy local specialties in an artistic ambiance inspired by Monet's heritage. Guests can expect friendly service and a simple yet welcoming atmosphere.
Giverny was lovely in its late summer bloom and gave us the experience we were hoping for! We had previously researched a casual dining spot for lunch and decided on Au Coin du Paint’re with its high reviews in the heart of the village of Giverny. The front outside dining area was rustic and charming, but we decided to eat inside as I was a bit chilled. The restaurant does not take reservations; when we arrived early, we had our choice of seating. During our lunch, the outside garden area filled quickly with other diners. Our burger, Croque Monsieur, beer and wine choices were delicious and exactly what we wanted! The other diners’ foods looked delicious too. A perfect way to close out our day in Giverny before returning on the shuttle to the Vernon train station.
John T — Google review
The atmosphere is very good; what's not to love in the beautiful village of Giverny? The terrace has a laid-back vibe. The service is mediocre; the waiter forgot the order a couple of times, and nobody seems really interested in the tourist masses. The food is mediocre for a French lunch. A big piece of bread with almost no camembert, and very soggy fries. And touristic prices €€€€€
Jan W — Google review
A really nice place. The bread was super soft! But I didn't really like the apple pie. But everything else was great.
Mari G — Google review
The €10 breakfast is very good. A large croissant/pain au chocolate, a hot drink and a panneau of bread. The croissant was one of the best I've had, and the bread was very good too. A very good, probably home made, strawberry jam topped it off. The tea was the only weak spot.
Owen G — Google review
If you get here before 10:30 AM, they have an excellent prefix breakfast. The quality of the bread and croissant was excellent. The tea was not served with hot enough water, and I had to ask for milk and sugar. That said the flavor was still good. The orange juice was also good. Service was acceptable, but not attentive or warm. They accept credit cards but the minimum purchase amount is €15
Brian K — Google review
Very good restaurant for lunch. Would recommend the lunch combo and the slight walk up hill. Worth the effort.

Restaurant
La Guinguette de Giverny is a charming place where tradition and pleasure come together, offering visitors an authentic experience in a relaxed and festive atmosphere typical of French guinguettes. The restaurant serves traditional French cuisine in the beautiful, untouched landscape of Giverny. It's popular among locals and tourists alike, with a menu available in both French and English. The concept of sharing plates may be unfamiliar to some, but the delicious food makes it worth trying.
A beautiful location. Food was delicious. Not a million options…. A fish, vegetarian option and meat. But the fish was perfectly cooked. Appetizers of fresh eggs with homemade mayonnaise and roasted tomatoes with soft cheese drizzled with balsamic were so flavorful and satisfying. If you love flavorful, well prepared food, you will love it here.

We visited in September and it was perfect evening weather to sit outside. The restaurant was not too busy. We had fantastic service and we loved everything we ate.
Liat W — Google review
This place was adorable and right outside the busy center of town so maybe not as crowded as places in the center of town. I didn’t get any pics, but the view was of a grassy field and I can envision being in the Renior painting, Luncheon of the Boating Party (but without the water)! I got the gazpacho and salmon tartar. My guests got steak frites. They ordered it medium but I think the chef only serves it medium rare, so be prepared! Everything was good.
Nicole H — Google review
a restaurant where you can hear the birds singing, while I am eating their delicious food of a reasonable price. Definitely a relaxing environment to enjoy while sitting and observing the water bank of the Seine river. A very convenient place to go after visiting the Giverny village where art galleries and famous house of Claude Monet is just across the street.

La Parenthèse is a charming restaurant located in Giverny, just a short walk from Claude Monet's home and gardens. The setting is filled with flowers and offers a friendly atmosphere for visitors to relax and enjoy home-cooked, seasonal cuisine. Despite some mixed reviews on specific dishes, the overall experience seems positive, with praise for the varied menu that includes options like burgers, fish, pork stew, and a vegetarian choice.
Very nice place with delicious French kitchen and a nice variety of cocktails. The stuff is super friendly. You can eat on this beautiful terrace and then enjoy the next round of cocktails in the sun on the sun-beds. Highly recommended!
Olena B — Google review
The restaurant is located in a pleasant area with a welcoming atmosphere. However, the quality of the food did not meet expectations. The beef was significantly overcooked—served well-done and unfortunately too tough to enjoy. Additionally, the accompanying fries appeared to be of low quality, possibly over-fried or reheated multiple times, resulting in a dry and unappealing texture. Overall I do not recommend this restaurant.
Sili Q — Google review
Very nice terrace and overall atmosphere. Placement is also a little aside from the crowds at the museum. Food I was expecting to be top notch but was somehow good. The best from what we were served was the burata with peach sauce which was delicious. Aubergine parmigiana was good but could be better.
Buhnevici N — Google review
We got lunch after visiting Monets house. You would think since it is so close by that it would be a tourist trap and not great, but we really enjoyed it. For €50 we got onion soup (my favorite French Onion Soup from our entire time in France), stew, cheese, and beer. It was a lovely day outside on their patio. They did get busy, and I saw some people waiting to be seated when the staff got busy, but I thought the service overall was reasonable for the crowd.
Madeline B — Google review
We ordered two simple coffees at the counter because we had to continue our journey after visiting the house. In addition to a complete lack of empathy, we were also charged for two cover charges, even though we never sat down, as we had clearly asked to have them at the counter. In the end, we paid €5.40 for two basic coffees at the bar. When I jokingly said, “Oh, even the cover charges,” the girl just smiled without even reconsidering. Unfortunately, this kind of attitude towards tourists is counterproductive — both for them and for all the people who work hard and with dedication to keep the painter’s legacy alive.

Hotel
Hotel Restaurant La Musardiere is a picturesque 19th-century lodging located in the heart of Giverny, just a short walk from Claude Monet's famous house. The hotel offers simple and warm rooms with views of the garden, providing an authentic and comfortable experience. Originally a convalescent home for young women, this charming hotel is now known for its stylish accommodation and dining options.
We only went to the hotel restaurant - we were not guests of the hotel. I'm really shocked by the bad reviews - the food was delicious! This restaurant was so lovely and delicious, the host was very friendly and accommodating, and the patio and gardens were really delightful. It was a beautiful serine atmosphere and perfect for a leisurely dinner in the heart of the town of Giverny. The service was really excellent (SO much better than the restaurant across the street - La Parenthèse - where the service was just terrible). All the food at this restaurant was delicious and the kids menu (grilled chicken or fish croquet with mashed potatoes and grilled veggies) was very yummy - the kids ate nearly everything. We had a lovely evening and meal but, in retrospect, we probably shouldn't have gone to this upscale restaurant with our kids. French children seem to be (universally) impeccably well-behaved - they could eat at any restaurant no matter how quiet or how fancy and have no problems. French kids sit still for hours, quietly, politely and eat everything and anything they are offered without complaint and that’s just what is expected of children at meal times in France. In Canada, if you went to a restaurant in the summer with a patio surrounded by gardens, it would not at all be uncommon for a bunch of kids to be running around in the surrounding fields and gardens playing games and laughing and having fun while parents enjoyed a leisurely meal. Kids doing anything but sitting quietly at meal times highly inappropriate in France – so needless to say we felt quite embarrassed. The staff brought our kids a few garden games to play with while they were in the field so that was very thoughtful and kind. We'd definitely recommend this restaurant and would eat there again but would probably not recommending going with young kids (unless of course yours are super wonderfully-behaved like French kids are!)

This isn't just a place to stay—it's an escape. Nestled just a few blocks from Monet's famous gardens, it offers a refined experience with delicious meals and breathtaking grounds. It's a tranquil retreat where time seems to slow down, perfect for unwinding. The staff was incredibly welcoming and accommodating. We loved it! The area is stunning too! One of a kind!
Joël S — Google review
We had a mixed experience at La Musardiere. The room was excellent, the location perfect and the food very good indeed. The service was in part dreadful. The woman who checked us in and the man who brought us drinks before dinner were great - all smiles and warmth. However, the main server at dinner and the person who served us breakfast clearly didn't want to be there and gave us the very strong impression they didn't want us to be there either. You know you're going to be in for a long night when the waitress brings you completely the wrong bottle of wine - different producer, appellation, vintage and even appearance - after persuading you to choose it! - and when that is pointed out, changes it without apology or explanation, a smile or indeed a word. Such a shame because the food and the setting were so good, but when you feel unwelcome, it affects the whole experience.
Michael F — Google review
The room was very nice. We ate both nights in the restaurant - the food was outstanding - the best meals we had on our entire trip in France! Great location in Giverny - easy walk to Monets Garden and other sights.

The room was very nice, comfortable, and quiet. The cost was very reasonable, and the breakfast they offered was quite lovely! And, their customer service was excellent, too. Next time I'm in Paris, I plan to stay with them again.

Tried the chef’s tasting menu. The appetizer was a bowl of cold mushrooms. The two mains were both 3 bites, and the second appeared to literally be deli sliced turkey. Dessert was good but overall the experience was very unsatisfying and definitely not worth the money. Staff were great but there are better and/or cheaper options in Giverny.

"Le Temps des Fleurs" is a traditional restaurant with a small menu of fresh products, offering delicious and generous dishes. The setting is charming, and the staff are friendly and accommodating. The food is described as home-cooked and delectable, with a varied and excellent menu. Guests recommend saving room for dessert and enjoying the beautiful view of the gardens. While some mention slow service, others praise the attentive staff.
What a beautiful place to have lunch! We ordered salmon and escargot, both delicious but salmon was incredible, very unique marinade and flavor. It was a perfect break on a hot day!

Took the in-laws here while showing them Giverny and Monet’s gardens. Was a hot, but wonderful lunch in the outdoor dining area. Open with beautiful flowers around, tranquil, and the food was proper. Had a filet myself and we shared a bottle of white. If you’re looking for a bite to eat while exploring, you won’t be disappointed.

A good place for a quick lunch after monet gardens. Staff was super friendly and prompt.
Grady C — Google review
The location is very good, close to the Monet’s Gardens, the ambiance is great, the restaurant is very beautiful, and the staff is super kind. But unfortunately the food was not good :/ the meat was overcooked and the ratatouille was a little too salty
Sofia K — Google review
The only good thing about this cafe is the place where it is at Giverny. Being the only cafe restaurant near the car parking and at the entry place of Giverny, the home of Claude Monet, it's taking advantage of walk in tourists everyday. The servers are almost rude. The French fries werenot good. Fish was dry without any natural juices or moisture. Overall not a good experience.
Tejinder P — Google review
Popped by for lunch after our visit to the Monet Gardens and Home. It was very lovely sitting in the terrace by the garden on a sunny spring day with birds chirping in the background! The servers were all polite and attentive to us. We are Asians so ignore the reviews that say they are racist - they are not. Possibly those who had a bad experience were rude to begin with. We had a lovely time eating our food and even got dessert. We recommend this place to anyone who’s in the area looking for a bite!

We sat in the shade here after visiting the Monet garden. The waitress was really on point and had a fun sass about her - a real asset to the restaurant. We ordered the sea bass and the mozzarella salad - both were delicious - very fresh and well presented. I would definitely eat here again in a heart beat

Oscar is the second restaurant by Chef David Gallienne, located in Giverny at the Musee des impressionnismes. The establishment has recently opened and is still working out some initial details. Despite some loud music, visitors have enjoyed the 39 euro formula offering a starter, main course, and dessert. The staff are friendly and accommodating. While some patrons expected more of a 'wow' factor, overall satisfaction was high.
We had a wonderful experience at Oscar’s. The staff were helpful, kind, and friendly. The food was great, we were a party of 3. We got the 3 course meal and cocktails. Beef bourgeon , deviled eggs, tomato salad, pasta with mushrooms and spinach. Chocolate pie, lemon pie and a French specialty , praline cream puff thing. So good! The cocktails were outstanding. They helped us with our wine selection as well. We did not have a wait, as we had a reservation. Best meal and service. *also, we speak very little French, unfortunately. Just the niceties. And we had no problems

The food was very good but could be better and better presented for their price. The staff always in a rush makes you feel a bit anxious and bad. They broke glasses, etc around us. They should be more delicate when they serve or talk with clientele. The place is beautiful and they have all attributes to be five stars but there is a lack in service matters. I found a bit overpriced for the standards that they deliver. Not recommended this restaurant, try another one if you are in Giverny.
Thiers — Google review
Great setting but the food was quite underwhelming, especially for the price paid. Unfortunately, we didn’t enjoy any of our dishes. If you order snails, expect mostly mushrooms. If you order the tomatoes with burrata, expect burrata foam and not the real thing. The service was fine (if u can understand French) but the food was very average.

Beautiful experience. We were afraid we wouldnt have enough time to get such a wonderful meal when on a timer for our tour bus; but we had a beautiful experience with food that was both beautiful to eat and presentation was gorgeous.

Nice place to have a drink after visiting the garden. Also the set manual has a good price and quality. The food is classic with a bit twist.

I ate the body of a wire ball in my starter and when the waitress came to collect the plates we told her about it but we got no apology. When she brought dessert, she very coolly brought me two glasses of champagne. However, I am allergic to alcohol and I felt bad that she didn't ask me about it.

L'Aquarelle is a charming pizzeria located in Giverny, offering an authentic Italian ambiance and delicious food. It's conveniently situated on the way to Monet's gardens and house, making it a perfect stopover for visitors. The menu features a variety of delectable options such as entrecote with peppercorn sauce, flavorful pizzas with fresh toppings, refreshing drinks like kir with blackberry liquor, and delightful desserts.
Food was great. Pizza tasted amazing and fresh. The hot pepper oil was the perfect topping. Definitely a better choice than the rip off cafe right next to the Monet garden.

They demanded that I pay in cash after I paid with card! Seemed like a nice place to eat, but very scam like with payments. I got charged on my card and showed them the transaction went through on my phone. They then demanded that I pay with euros because the card “didn’t work”. Awful service and management as they just got more aggressive and angry.

Les Terrasses de La Dîme is a charming restaurant and tearoom located in the picturesque village of Giverny. The establishment offers a traditional country-style dining experience with a breathtaking view of the surrounding hills. The beautiful garden and terrace provide a serene setting for enjoying homemade dishes served in elegant glass jars, as well as an array of delightful desserts. Guests can expect warm and attentive service from the host, Frédérique, who ensures that dietary preferences are accommodated.
la Dime is a beautiful, all outdoor restaurant perfect for a summer evening. The menus is short but the selection of proteins include beef, lamb, duck, fish (sardines, octopus, bass), all cooked on an outdoor grill. The drink list was also nice and sufficient. The tomato salad was wonderful as it was the season. The fish crudo and deviled eggs were also nicely done. We had the duck (fantastic), the lamb(excellent) and the sardines (delicious). You pick the protein and which sauce you want and either fries or salad. We shared the fog tart and chocolate mousse (so French and chocolatey). Defiantly would come here again and again.

The meat was good so with that they got my heart, also the price was fair as you pay the same for really bad meat in most restaurants that are in way less lovely environments. The atmosphere is perfect, the view, the dishes a 10. The bread and the cheese were also very good. People that complain about how fast things are do not realize that they are more like making you the favor to stay longer. Nevertheless, it's also true that some things are irrationally expensive, the ricotta and vinegar ice cream was half of the price of the meat and it was just one ball and the taste... well, no comments. I strongly recommend the place.

Terra Café, located at the Giverny Museum of Impressionisms, offers a tastefully decorated space with a sunny outdoor terrace. It's an ideal spot to enjoy a leisurely lunch or take a relaxing break during your museum visit. Despite some aggressive wasps outside Claude Monet's house, the café provides a pleasant setting for quenching your thirst.
Awesome place, a little bit more expensive, compared to Rouen. 25 euro main plus desert, but very very tasty and interesting kitchen. Have good options for vegetarians.
Artem S — Google review
We stopped here because we liked the menu more then Les Nympheas down the street and it seemed more reasonably priced. We sat on the outdoor terrace which was lovely because it was beautiful weather. (Inside was less cozy). The food was excellent. However, it did take a while to arrive and we were anxiously waiting for it as we had a deadline and needed to leave at a certain time. So that did take away some of the joy. You know what they say in France, the longer you wait for it, the better it tastes. I think you need to allow for at least 1.5-2 hours based on the wait time. Highly recommend the carpaccio, it was my first time trying it and really enjoyed it here.

Staff is super lazy, it takes forever for having a lunch here, but when you will finally recieve your dishes you will be super disappointed because it’s awful!!! (Translated by Google) The restaurant and food are fabulous! Fine flavors, surprising combinations that delight the taste buds, it's a great discovery! The service, on the other hand, is not at all up to the standard of a star and leaves a strange impression.... Waiters who drink wine in front of the customers' eyes during the service, non-existent food/wine pairings (why ask us our preference if afterwards it is to explain to us that all the pairings are blank? And ESPECIALLY why serve exactly the same wine on very different dishes?) and who neither say goodbye nor say goodbye to you. accompany them. It's worthy of the local bistro, and even more. Too bad for the great efforts made in the kitchen. The area offers cultural trails like the Giverny Cultural Trail and In Monet's Footsteps, leading visitors through an artistic journey. The Fondation Claude Monet and Musee des Impressionnismes Giverny provide insight into this romantic era.
Very nice and interesting restaurant. Fab staff, that’s obvious and very important. Very nice and helpful people. Interesting and original menu. Bowl falafel, cocotte de volaille au cidre de Giverny, ravioles really tasty. Portions are quite small, but the quality is awesome. Just order a starter. Beautiful surroundings of restaurants, gardens, Monet home and famous bridge. Definitely worth to visit.

I suppose the menu changes periodically, but as of our visit (October 2023) this is _NOT_ a “tourist trap”; the cuisine, atmosphere, service all “digne” of an excellent French restaurant with reasonable prices. We arrived around 2:30 PM — a bit late for lunch — but they were happy to seat us. Offered the choice, we sat on their beautiful and spacious patio. My girlfriend had a Moules-frites with a 1664. It had been quite some time since I had indulged in an Escalope de veau à la Normande, which of course implored red wine. It was all very delicious.

Perfect spot for a glass of wine and beers with friends after walking the Monet's gardens and the beautiful town of Giverny. Everyone was very friendly, the food was good and decently priced for a tourist attraction. I had the tartare and my friends had burgers and salads. Everything was great. The portions were quite large, the ambiance was pleasant and it was nice to sit down with a nice glass of wine with friends after walking for three hours through the town, museum, house and garden. There's even a miniature train that will take you from the train station in Vernon right into Giverny. That was a lot of fun! Highly recommend making the trip out to this area. I'll recommend it to anyone I know visiting Paris in the future!

Everything started nicely with proper welcome and very sympathetic waitress. I then ordered a Caesar salad. It was the smallest one I have ever had: 4 small pieces of fried chicken, 4 cherry tomatoes, some cheese and salad plus dressing. Twice bigger would have been a normal size. I told the owner of the restaurant who gave me a 5 euros discount. But still at 17 minus 5 euros that was not a bargain.

We tried to eat lunch here after visiting Monet’s gardens. When we arrived there were only a few tables being served, but the crowd grew quickly. It appeared there were only 2 or 3 waiters working for lunch time. We sat at our table for 15 minutes and still no server had come to take our order (not even to bring us water). At that point it started raining and we changed our table to inside instead of the terrace. No one came to help. We moved and took our menus on our own. Once we got inside, again, no one came to serve us. I went to ask the manager if we would be able to be served and eat within the next hour as we had another tour scheduled. He told me it would not be possible so we left. Before we exited, we used the restroom. The ladies bathroom had no toilet paper and no paper towels. Horrible customer service. Would not recommend.

We had lunch at the charming restaurant and was pleasantly surprise with how good the food was and their prices were very reasonable. 2 burgers, mussels with fries, starter plate of prosciutto and cheese, glass of wine and 2 lemon sodas totaling 76euro is not bad! Restaurant
Oscar is a warm and polished restaurant in Paris that offers classic French cuisine and features a cocktail bar. The highlight of the experience at Oscar is sitting around a large counter in the kitchen, where chef Oscar Verlant prepares delicious dishes right in front of you. Despite language barriers, the accommodating owners ensure excellent communication through various means. Located away from touristy areas, this gem offers exquisite food cooked with care and pride at reasonable prices.
We had one night in Paris and wanted an authentic, delicious Parisian bistro close to the Eiffel Tower so we could walk over after dinner, and Oscar checked all the boxes. The owner delighted us with his convivial charm and origin stories of the food. We loved the steak frites and raviolis so much we ordered seconds! The restaurant decor was very chic, and reservations are recommended if you dine after 7pm.

Oscar is a charming and well-executed dining establishment that delivers a memorable experience rooted in attentive service, a welcoming ambiance, and a thoughtful menu. Located in a walkable area with a vibrant atmosphere, the restaurant is best accessed on foot due to limited parking—though the short walk only adds to the charm of the visit. From the moment we arrived, the customer service stood out. Staff were gracious, professional, and accommodating, creating a relaxed and enjoyable dining environment. The overall atmosphere was warm and inviting, with tasteful decor and a pleasant layout that contributed to a comfortable and intimate setting. Cleanliness was clearly a priority—the dining area and visible kitchen spaces were well-maintained, enhancing the overall impression of quality and care. The menu offered a variety of appealing options, with particular highlights including the ravioli, which was well-prepared and flavorful, and the lamb stew, which was hearty and satisfying with a well-balanced blend of seasoning and texture. Portions were appropriate and presentation was elegant without being overstated. While parking posed a challenge, the quality of the experience at Oscar more than compensated for the inconvenience. It’s the kind of place that rewards those willing to explore a bit off the beaten path. In summary, Oscar delivers solid culinary execution, excellent service, and a pleasant atmosphere in a desirable location. We would happily return and recommend it to others seeking an authentic and well-run French dining experience.

Overall, it was a good experience. The owner is engaging and brings a touch of French humor, lightly teasing you for ordering a Coke instead of wine. The steak was a bit on the chewy side, but the fries were tasty, and the salad felt more like a garnish than a true side. Service was good, not exceptional, but good. The restaurant seemed slightly understaffed, as it was a full house. We had to wait and signal the waiter both to place our order and to get the bill. That said, our waiter was friendly and accommodating, which made the experience more pleasant. I originally went to try the cheesecake, but they didn’t have it due to a seasonal menu. The waiter recommended the French toast instead, and it turned out to be an excellent choice, really delicious.

We found this place after visiting the Eiffel Tower, just by checking the map for well-rated restaurants - and it was such a great choice. The food was delicious (the sea bream was a highlight! The starters were also excellent!), portions were generous, and the service really stood out. The staff were warm, funny, and thoughtful - We were planning to share a few dishes between the three of us, and without us even asking, they thoughtfully brought everything already divided onto separate plates — such a small gesture, but it made a big difference. Would absolutely recommend — both for the food and the people!

We happened upon this little restaurant because everything on Rue Claude Monet is SO EXPENSIVE! The shop is quaint, cute, and the food was amazing! The gentleman at the counter helped translate for us and shared stories about his time he's spent in the USA. We ordered 2 salads and 1 sandwich, there was a young male staff member with a man bun who poured half a bottle of french mustard on my salad when I specifically asked for just a drop, I ended up vomiting, the Sandwich we asked for no sauce, however he took a dirty knife covered in sauce and sliced it, when we told him he scoffed loudly and said something in french, he then proceeded to remake our sandwich but picked up a loaf of bread from the bin, when we noticed we instructed him to make It with fresh bread, we eventually did get the correct sandwich without sauce but it took over 30mins, would not recommend,

I visited here yesterday. A black female staff was unpleasant. While I was ordering a drink, I decided to add a sandwich, but she told me very rudely that I had to order sandwiches at the far right end, not at the counter. Her attitude felt like she was blaming me for not ordering everything at once. Then, when I tried to add a muffin and pointed at it with my finger, she snapped at me and told me “Do not touch”(I don’t even touched i swear). I felt very uncomfortable and didn’t feel it was worth buying anything more, so I left shortly after with my family. When I visited Giverny five years ago, I had a much better experience at a café just a minute away from this one. I hope the staff are trained better in the future.
